I am running an art competition and I have a form which has sent all the entry data into excel. I need to take this and make it into different formats. For example I need a program which will take some of the date like entrants name and about their work, I also need place cards which list the categories and Yes or No next to them, and I need judging forms which takes slightly different elements again into a different layout. etc.
Now I know I could mail merge between excel and word but that doesn't give me any option to edit and highlight certain elements (Conditional formating) ie. On the judges notes I need to highlight if something is positive, and on the cards I need to highlight the categories eligible.
Is there a way or any other program I could use to achieve this? Even directly from monday itself.

Tip #2: Ensure that your body contains the following information.
Note: You do not have to list ALL of these items, but at least tell us what genre and what you are looking for. It's even more helpful if you list dramas that you've watched.
Too often, we get low effort requests where the title of the post is just "Cdramas pls" and the body text is something vague like "I need more to watch" or "I just finished watching a CDrama and want more". That's too little information for us to go by, and unfortunately, this is a favourite tactic of spammers to increase their karma, so please don't do this. Posts like these will be removed.
Please ensure your body text contains some of the following:

Can I have a list off recommend power supply for the. Rtx 3060. Actual names of psu since I'm not familiar of the types I should be looking for my psu keeps making my PC shutdown.
I currently have a inplay GP250L power supply which is probably why it keeps turning off since the rated is only 250W.

My husband cheated with a man. I had pictures. His mom snooped. His parents are making his life difficult.
I (F30) kicked my husband (28) out of my house. It was my house prior to us getting married and it remains my house now.
I knew when I married him that he was bisexual. I was okay with it as long as he understood that we were monogamous. I said that I would never agree to an open relationship and if that was what he wanted he needed to be with someone else.
He agreed and said that I was the person he wanted to be with and that I was more than enough to satisfy him.
He lied. I found out he was having an affair with a man. I went through his iPad and took all the pictures for myself. Graphic. In a Mapplethorpe kind of way. When I confronted him he became physically aggressive. I was scared. He calmed down when I got Siri to call 911. He left.
Anyway I did not want him in my house again ever. When he wanted his things I asked him to make a list and send it to me.
I found every single thing on the list. I asked him where to send the box. He said he would pick it up. I told him that I would not let him set foot in my house and that I would call the cops if he tried.
He said he would send friends to get his stuff. I said I would leave his box o' crap with the front desk at my work. He didn't want to make them drive into the city.
We compromised and I agreed to give his parents a temporary code for my house. They are lovely people and I trusted them. I could see everything on my security system and I would know if he tried getting into my house.
The deal was that they would use the code, get the box from the front entrance then close and lock the door. Easy peasy lemon squeezy. Instead it went difficult difficult lemon fucked.
I guess he didn't have everything on his list. He asked them to get something from my bedroom. Not the deal at all.
I had my pictures of his infidelity in my room in my chest of drawers. In an envelope. So to reiterate to find these pictures his mom had to go past our agreed limit into my house. She then had to enter my bedroom, open my chest of drawers, open an envelope, and look at what was inside.
I felt violated watching the video. Then I giggled like a little kid. It was hilarious. I see them come into the house. They use the code and open the door. His dad comes in and grabs the box. He goes back to their vehicle with the box. His mom hesitates before walking into my house and going to my room. She goes to my chest and opens the top drawer where we kept a box full of jewelry. She sees an envelope with his name on it. She looks around, I'm not sure why. Then she looks at the contents. She screams, I assume since I have my feed on video only, then she stuffs the pictures back in closes the drawer and goes running for the truck. My father in law comes to the door, locks it and leaves.
I guess he never told his parents about his proclivities. To say that this has created a problem for him is to take it lightly.
I get a call from him. He says I left the pictures out for his parents to find. I did not. I should have scattered them on top of the box his parents picked up but that felt cruel and unnecessary. Like I said I have always found them to be lovely people.
I told him where the pictures were. He said that he forgot bout a ring he left off the list and he told his mom where it should be. I said I would have tossed it in the box if he told me. He said he forgot until they were on their way.
He is upset that his parents know he is a power bottom. He is not happy at their house now and he is going to find somewhere else to stay. He said I'm an asshole for causing this problem.
I think there are other candidates for assholehood.

1. Him for cheating.
2. Him for getting his parents to go against our agreement.
3. His mom for going against our agreement.
4. His mom for snooping.
5. His parents for homophobia.

Despite what SBZ partners told you so - last update is just such a blast. It would have been better if SBZ actually write the changes they made or keep a better track of their hard work, but still.

Before we start, please; ADD A LAUNCH OPTION TO THE GAME Depending which platform you install the game, this might be vary.
In Steam, you can find it by right-clicking into game, and pressing Properties. In Epic Games, you can find it by right-clicking into game, and pressing Manage.
From the window it's opened you can go into launch options and add -fileopenlog into the space.
And don't forget to; CREATE A MODS FOLDER Find where your PAYDAY 3 copy is installed. The location of this folder will vary depending on your installation preferences & storefront.
After downloading a mod, extract the contents/move the mod into PAYDAY3/Content/Paks/~mods. Create the folder if necessary.
UE4SS is not completely supported for PAYDAY 3, so I do NOT recommend it. But there is something I definitely recommend; DOWNLOAD THE LOGIC MOD LOADER This simple .pak file is requirement for some mods, and it's better if you keep it in your mod folder. Created by Narknon. Please, download it from here.
Inside of your mods folder, you can set as many folders as you desire - and you can change the name of the .pak mods, but I do not recommend it, you might break compatibility patches, load orders etc. So please, don't do this unless you know what are you doing.

Improves the gun customization screen by removing the limits of how much you can zoom and where you can move your gun. Comes handy when you want to see details of charms and stickers, and minor details when you paint. See it on action yourself.
There are two versions; one with depth of field effect in the background as vanilla game does and the other with not, for improving the functionality. It's a minor annoyance, and I like DOF - so I picked the normal version but it's really up to you.
Pulsing Civilian Outline Submitted by Ema
Changes the blue outline that freed civilians have that's added in 1.1.2 with the pulsing outline; so they have when they're able to be traded, providing a more consistent visual experience.
Simple, but very essential mod to change the dark blue outline that's not fitting the colour scheme of the game. See how it works, and meanwhile you're watching it, give her a sub, she deserves a lot more :3

Escape Van OVERKILL Submitted by Higgue

Comes with two different versions; one that's exact replica from PAYDAY 2 and one changes that current design of van with Overkill logo. I like current design, and it's really good with Overkill logo - but the other is there if you like it.
HET-5 Thermal Target Tweak Submitted by CzRSpecV
While this mod is technically not up to date, because one of the undocumented changes that SBZ did with last update is reducing the tint of Red Fox's thermal scope, but this mod is still working great regardless.
Replaces the thermal targeting system on the HET-5. There is two versions of the mod, the light one is a reworked dash outline with a center of mass indicator, and the redux one removes the outline entirely and just adds the center of mass indicator.
I like light one better, but if you want a simpler design, it's up to you.
Legacy Tactical Outfit Submitted by Dorpenka and columbus
Replaces the Echelon Outfit with the Legacy Tactical from PAYDAY 2. It's not only looks better, because white shirt looks off, it also fixes several clipping issues. It also works on buffed Chains!
Less Green Heists Submitted by Ema
Another Ema W, and personally, my favourite mod in this list - sorry for favouritism - but this is just essential.
You might noticed, some heists have coloured tint. While I appreciate the artistic decisions, honestly, it's just too much!
A collection of .paks that allow you to disable color grading in all heists. While this mod is updated to work, for future references; mod can break whenever the game updates, so if you experience any strange visual issues (skybox flickering, invisible models) that may be why.
This is how No Rest For The Wicked looks like in vanilla and this is how Ema saved it. You can go through the mod images to see more compressions. Definitely a must have. You can also remove it from heists that you don't wanna see correct colours!
Snub Silencer Size Fix Submitted by bizzy
It is too big and you cant look over the sight. This mod tend to fix it. Like author said; download SnubSilencerSizeFix_SHORT.pak for the good version. Other versions are supposed to be a joke additions, but if it's your thing, nobody will hold you back.

This mod replaces any vocal instances of Zapper with Taser. All performances in this mod are the product of training AI on data the original voice actors.
So AI is not your thing, I just want to give a heads-up. But be honest, nobody can either afford or give effort to hire VA's for a simple thing like this.
As person who played PAYDAY for more then 10 years; this is an essential for me. Listen how it sounds like. But be sure the only thing you dead name are Tasers. Ok, maybe Twitter too.

Okay, maybe it's because I hear the default version for 1000 hours now, but still. I think this supposed to be a certified Gustavo Coutinho banger, but I'm not sure.
There are two different versions, but they are extremely similar, I think. You can listen it yourself from here for the first version and here for the second version. Personally, the second version is perfect world between the first and the current versions, but it's up to you.

PAYDAY Blues and Greens Submitted by me, again
Changes Adaptive Armor color to 28ADFB Picton Blue, which was the color of PAYDAY 2's logo. To make default armors distinctive, changes Armor Linings color to 149458 Shamrock Green, which is pretty dominant in PAYDAY 3's color palette. Also changes Adrenaline color to E8483B Vermillion, because it's a complimentary color to two other colors, and also reminds PAYDAY: The Heist's logo.

I worked for this global employer with over 350,000 employees in over 50 countries since 2016. Employed at the same company are my husband and sister-in-law, neither relationship disclosed as we were in different departments and therefore it was not required by any company policy. In 2020, they allowed us to start working remotely. In 2022, I was diagnosed with a disability (Bipolar Disorder) and took a short-term leave of absence, returning after 12 weeks. Six weeks into my leave, the company was acquired by a new company, which disputed paying my STD due to changes in insurance companies. However, that situation resulted in them paying me. I worked in controllership auditing documentation that affected life and safety services, and had numerous instances where coworkers tried to coerce me into accepting their work with errors. My supervisor verbally told me there was no disciplinary action plan he could institute, and he could only advise them to continue checking their work. I escalated it to his manager in May of 2023, and she insisted I meet with HR. I had only been introduced to my HR Manager once prior in a 15-minute Zoom meeting labeled meet and greet. The HR person refused to address me by my name and implied I was dumb ("it's not rocket science") because I hadn't told her about this in our previous meet and greet. I ended that call and filed an internal "integrity" report for harassment, refusal to call me by my name listed on my social security card, and accusing me of insubordination. That report went unaddressed for over 85 days until I received an email from HR leadership saying both the people I had reported had voluntarily left the company at this point, so there was nothing they could do.
In October of 2023, my supervisor advised us we would be expected to return to the office for three days a week, which I attempted to do but found impractical with my disability. I obtained documentation from my medical provider advocating to work remotely fully, not partially. As this is a policy change covered by the ADA, and coworkers who live over 30 miles from the office are allowed to work remotely, I initiated formal written communication with my employer in December 2023, requesting an ADA accommodation for my disability to work remotely. Despite my clear request, the HR manager responded unprofessionally, failing to acknowledge my ADA request and requesting "all" documentation from the short-term leave of absence I took in 2022, and she addressed me by the wrong name. I replied advising her of my correct name, told her I didn't have time allotted to locate unrelated documents, and provided her with the recommendation from my medical provider. She replied and said she was "sorry I felt that way and felt the need to respond in an inappropriate manner". I did not accept this, so I immediately escalated it to her supervisor, the same VP who didn't help with the previous instance of this. He was unhelpful, advising that he didn't think she called me the wrong name intentionally, and that I was expected to return to the office. I asked them numerous times if this was them denying my ADA request, but they delayed email response and refused to directly acknowledge any of my written questions, resulting in me having to use my remaining PTO for the undue hardship.
At this point, I filed an internal integrity report against the HR Manager and the VP of HR for harassment, refusal to follow company and EEOC ADA Policies, and harassment, as did my coworker (undisclosed husband) who witnessed it. The VP of Global (parent company) HR opened an investigation; she told me she interviewed 5 people total, but I only have confirmation of her interviewing myself and my coworker. During this investigation, I was still emailing back and forth with the HR Manager and the VP of HR because they were, at this point, attempting to accuse me of being uncooperative and unwilling to compromise. The HR Manager addressed me by the wrong name in email again, and due to her advising me she was making a note, I formally reported her for harassment to the VP of HR. They also continuously attempted to direct me to a verbal conversation. When I refused and told them I wanted written communication due to the company policy not being followed to this point, the VP then attempted to coerce me out of it again. I have no problem holding verbal conversations; I did for over 2 hours while being interviewed by the Global VP of HR, but I won't do it for people who have already not followed the process. They continued to provide new documents, giving impossible timelines to return completed documents (doctors are busy in December). After the interview with the Global VP of HR, she advised me to send all documents to her instead, which I did, and communication with the other two stopped. At the beginning of February, the Global VP of HR gave me verbal permission to work remotely and stated she would email my supervisor to let him know. Obviously, at the end of March, I was laid off due to my department being "restructured". I made the HR member and Department Head confirm that all employees in my department were being laid off as well; they both responded yes. However, I was the only employee that was laid off; all of the individuals with the same job position as me are still employed. I anticipated "corporate retaliation" and assumed I would be laid off but I hated this job so much I was at the point of looking for new work anyway. I have everything in writing, and recordings of all verbal conversations mentioned, and a witness statement. I refused severance because I wasn't in a position where I needed money immediately while I looked for work and I didn't want to sign the lengthy aggreement they proposed.
My question, is any of my experience considered harrasment, retaliation or discrimination? I am in Indiana, an at-will State, plus I was laid off, not fired. Would this be considered a disability, labor or wrongful termination issue?

I'm having an issue trying to modify the variables of an instanced child node. I am running a script on a VBoxContainer to load the buttons, which are TexturedButtons with a label.
When I instantiate the button, I used to (in godot 3.5) be able to affect the variables of the instantiated button before adding it as a child, like this:

but now it's giving me an error that says "Invalid set index 'text' (on base: 'Nil') with value of type 'String'.
On the other hand, if I just move the variable affecting Label's text below the "add_child" command, it works correctly.

So, for context, I’m a Detroiter. I’ve lived in some places, done things, I’ve been around the way.
I be seeing people online talk about who’s corny and who’s not, and… what I see online don’t be reflecting what I see in the environment around me.
Joyner Lucas, Hopsin, Logic, J.Cole, Cordae, even Kendrick sometimes… people be calling these dudes corny, but around me, these dudes wasn’t corny to us. In all honesty, every name I listed were rappers I found out about in school, on streets, and in my community. I never got the impression there was something wrong with these dudes until I started discovering the internet more.
Joyner and Logic especially stand out to me because for the longest, folks really was messing with them and I’ve honestly seen more criticism online than I ever have in person. For the record, I do make music, move in music circles, all of that. Hell, I even move with folks who used to be with Proof and Em, and the rest of them big time. I’ve never heard or read anything critical that didn’t come from the internet.
I know a lot of people say it’s their content, but I don’t get it. The shit they say speaks to me and my experiences. I know conscious rap sometimes gets a bad rep, but around where I’m from, even if folks may not want to hear that, it’s really rare to get anyone trying to dig into someone for having a consciousness. Especially when for some of us, including me, the folks and situations they’d rap about was life for most of us.
To add, I got drug dealer cousins. I been around shootings. I have had people threaten to shoot me. I’ve been on the receiving end of that King Von shit. A lot of us had been. Someone saying fuck them kinds of people always has an impact where I’m from.
It feels almost like a divide at times because the shit people don’t call corny ends up being way more of a false reality than the so-called corny stuff. I’ve listened to so many songs about street shit where the rapper got stuff blatantly wrong about how things work yet I’ve never heard anyone call it corny online despite that around the way, a lot of folks do call it out.
So, I any to understand what makes someone corny versus not. To add to this, I lived in the suburbs before too and went to school out there. Ironically, the few times I’d ever been judged for listening to dudes like Kendrick Lamar was way out. Type of kids judging me were the ones who were soft as fuck but wanted to go to the hood and hang with they hood cousins for a weekend so that they could lie to everyone else about hood stories that weren’t theirs.
To me; it almost seem like there’s a divide between people who just listen to the music and those who actually understand what’s being said. But then again, I don’t know.
I just know this: whoever decides what is what gotta be outside of the situations I know. I also know I’m part of one black community out of many.

Second, go to Safari or any search engine you have and type “GitHub DS bios files” and click on the link that says RetroPieBios in the link name and click on that one.
Third, once you’re there, scroll down until you see “Nintendo DS” and you’ll see three of them that say “Nintendo DS” and if you look at the blue text to the right of them, you will see Bios7.bin, Bios9.bin, and firmware.bin. Click on those and download them! (They will now be in your field app)
Fourthly, Go to your Delta Emulator app and click on the settings Icon in the top left of the screen. Once there, scroll down until you see “Core Settings” and under that it says “Nintendo DS” click on that. Then you will see “DS Bios files” And under that you will see all the file names I just listed above. To the right of those file names it will say “required” so now click on “Bios7.bin” and it will show all of your files. If it’s not at the top, search in the little search bar for the Bios7.bin file and once you’ve found it, click on it. Repeat with the others but make sure to put the files in the correct spots!
Fifth, now the part a lot of people struggle with at first. I did too. I cannot tell you how long I spent just trying to forgive out how to get the dang games on there. So go to a website called “Lategames” and it will end with a .net. I split it up because I’m not sure if Reddit allows me to tell people how to get ROMs. Once you are at the website, you can see a list of video game consoles. Not all of them are supported on delta. Only NES, SNES, N64, GBC, GBA, and DS are supported currently. However I’m pretty sure somebody said they are gonna add more later. Anyways click on one of the consoles. And it doesn’t just have to be DS games. Those DS files you downloaded are the only console files you’ll have to download. I’m not sure why you don’t also have to download NES or GBA or any of the other consoles files. So anyways you click on one of the consoles you want and search through all the games to find one you like! Or you can use the search bar at the top. Once you’ve found a game, click on it and scroll down a little. You’ll see a massive green button that says “Save Game” click that and download it.
Sixth and final step, once you’ve downloaded your games ROM, go back to the delta app and on the top right you’ll see a plus. Hit the plus and click on files and search for your games file you just downloaded. Once found, click on it and press open at the top right. Congratulations! You’ve got yourself a classic Nintendo game on your phone.
Bonus Step (optional) look up delta skins and go to the delta-skins.github link and you can download skins for the controller that shows up on your screen when you play a game.
I hope this helped anybody! I was very confused when trying to do this and I just could’ve figure it out because the YouTubers couldn’t explain it well. I had to find a video with like 35 views that actually thought me.

Hey gang - This may have been reviewed/answered already. I don't know. What is the deal with the Moroch rules book? I mean, I get maybe the Phobos Strike Team and Blooded Kill Teams are some of the most popular (maybe not meta wise, but model wise, they're epic!) Regardless, wtaf??! Why can't I find one? Been to GW - none. The online store - not even listed. Local FLGS - nope. Online FLGS here in Canada - lots of minis and ALL of the terrain, but nary a book to be found. I know the rules are on Wahapedia, but I need mah fluff, dammit! The Kill Team books, for me, are some examples of GW's best work with regard to 40k fiction and lore building. And I've always enjoyed the ability to personalize teams with names and demeanours and the like. Anyway, enough raving. The point of the man/bear question is about women’s safety with men, not a literal debate about fighting a bear. Men are taking it personally because they feel it’s unfair, while ignoring the fact that women agree that it’s not fair that we have to be cautious around men. We can both be working together to fix that, but instead it seems a lot of men want to pretend that women are emotional, illogical, stupid, etc which simply ignores the reality of women’s experiences of male violence. So let’s look at that reality.
If women were to answer the question; how many men do you know whom you would trust to be alone in the woods with you with no consequences for his actions, I think it might help these men arguing to understand just how few men women feel genuinely safe around.
I’ll go first.
My answer would be my brothers, my dad, some other male relatives, my bf, and 2 close friends. Anyone else has not been vetted heavily enough. I also recognize that I am lucky and privileged to be able to name these men as safe. I had to do a lot of vetting to be able to make my list. Many women and girls would not be able to put their fathers, brothers, male relatives, friends, or romantic partner. I know with 100% certainty that the men I listed are safe. I have made sure of this. Everyone else has been eliminated from being allowed in my home, in my car, or in any space where I am alone and vulnerable. I have dropped supposed friends, avoided certain social situations, and just generally have learned that vetting everyone is highly necessary for safety, and particularly when it comes to men and boys who might be sexually interested in me or enjoy harming women.
So please, let’s refocus the conversation back to its original point; Women do not trust their safety with most men.
Many of us can name the few we do trust not to harm us in a circumstance where they would get away with it on maybe one or two hands. For me it’s just barely two hands because I have several brothers and other family members I trust, and I’m very lucky and privileged to have even that. I don’t want to downplay how privileged I am to have men in my family I feel 100% safe with. I feel for the women for whom this is not the case.

Our goal is not to conquer, merely to survive
Wizardborn is Book 3 in David Farland's amazing Runelords series (No association with Pathfinder). If you don't know who David Farland is (Because I didn't before 2022) I just want to begin by saying is was a phenomonal writer who actively taught many of the big names we know today, such as Brandon Sanderson, Eric Flint, Stephanie Mayer, and James Dashner. He wrote over 60 novels during his lifetime and, in multiple articles written to honor him after his passing, has been cited as the "Wizard of Storytelling". Again, my first time even hearing his name was in 2022, when I came across a book called "The Sum of All Men" on Audible Plus. I immediately fell in love with the novel due to the philosophical musings of the protagonist, a young Prince named Gaborn Val Orden.
*Note: The Sum of All Men had its title changed to "Runelords" at some point, which is also the name for the series as a whole. So, if you're interested in checking that book out you might just see a novel called Runelords and that will be it. If you see a man holding a sword and kneeling while facing a ghostly group of warriors, that's the one!
The story takes place in a typical medieval european setting for the most part. I say for the most part because this only holds true for one-third of the continent, Rofehavan, which happens to be where the protagonist is from and where most of the action takes place. The other two areas of the continent, Indhopal and Inkarra, are more like the Middle East and Africa respectively. Though we mostly stay in Rofehaven I appreciate having this variety and the ability of the story to jump between different areas. Another thing that makes this series shine is the magic system.
Anyone familiar with RPG video games? Or really any kind of video game where you can alter the stats of characters? You can put points into things like stamina so your character can run longer, strength so he can hit harder, wisdom so he can make better arguments when debating with other characters, etc. That is the easiest way I can describe the primary form of magic in the Runelords. Using "blood metal" people craft items which are used to take "Endowments" from one person and transfer them to another. So, if you happen to be someone who is known for his strength, i'm a Lord with a vast amount of money and land, you might come to me and offer to give me an Endowment of Strength. In return I will ensure that you, and possibly your family, are taken care of. You'll lose your great strength of course, perhaps being left with no more strength than that of a small child, but you'll be able to live in comfort as a trade off. Your strength will be added to mine. This same process can take place for any human characteristic. Strength, Sight, Smell, Taste, Beauty, Voice, etc. And there is no limit to how many Endowments a person can take. It is possible, and actually very likely, that a person can reach the point where he could punch through walls, crush skulls, run like the wind, and perform any number of superhuman feats. It is even rumored that a person who takes enough Endowments will become a perfect, immortal being. This being will be known as the Sum of All Men, which kicks off the events of the first book. The people who take Endowments are known as "Runelords". The people who give them are known as "Dedicates".
I've never seen a magic system like this in any other story i've read and it's combined with Gaborn's musings on philosophy, causing you to question the morality of taking another person's Sight to enhance your own when that person will be left blind. And this moral questioning really becomes part of Gaborn's arc across the series, as he eventually takes over for his father and becomes King and as he battles the villanous Raj Ahten, who seeks to conquer the world as the Sum of All Men. Other magic exists as well, of the Elemental variety. There are Fire Wizards, Earth Mages, etc. Gaborn himself is the reincarnation of the mythical Earth King, tasked by the Earth itself (A side character in its own right) to save a "seed of man" from a coming darkness, which is not related to Raj Ahten. The Elements themselves also mix or relate to one another in different ways. Fire is seen as the enemy of man for its ability/desire to consume and destroy. This makes it the enemy of the Earth as well. Meanwhile, Water is the ally of the Earth, and many castles unite with Water Wizards to offer protection in their moats or lakes. And all of this is just a taste for what the series offers you, because apart from this the characters have the monstrous Reavers to deal with. Standing at 16 feet tall at the shortest, Revears are denizens from the Underworld who pour forth like a horde of giant locusts, seeking to kill and consume everything in their path. And after them there are still greater threats to deal with.
All of this is just the most basic groundwork for the series. If I were reviewing The Sum of All Men i'd go deeper into it. But I wanted to cover this much so no one would be confused going forward.

Summary

One of the powers Gaborn was granted as Earth King was the ability to "Choose" people who would be under his protection. This allows him to sense any danger to them (and really sense where they are at all times) and to warn them of said danger. So minor telepathic abilities, but nothing major imo. The downside of this is that he his Choosing these people for the Earth. Once Chosen he has to do whatever he can to protect that person, which might just be telling them not to travel down a certain road. At the end of the second book, Brotherhood of the Wolf, Gaborn made the mistake of Choosing Raj Ahten. He then made the greater mistake of attempting to use his powers to have Raj Ahten killed. As punishment the Earth dampened his powers to the point that he is Earth King mostly in name alone now. Each book picks up exactly where the previous one left off, with maybe a day or two in-between. So, an army of Reavers was turned aside, Raj Ahten was nearly killed, Gaborn's powers have been weakened (But he still needs to stop the Reavers because the Earth is literally ordering him to do so), and Borenson (Gaborn's former bodyguard) has been maimed by Raj Ahten,

Gaborn

Gaborn saw that he valued most those who loved and lived well. He valued men of sound conscience and unwavering resolve. Mne who dared stand against the darkness when all hope was slim.
The best way to describe things is that Brotherhood of the Wolf saw our heroes rise and then fall, with the final outcome not going the way they expected. Wizardborn sees them recovering. Gaborn struggles with the loss of his powers across the book. He questions what it means to be Earth King and the fact that the Earth doesn't care about him saving EVERYONE. The Earth seems to think that's impossible. The Earth wants him to save a SEED of humanity, basically meaning part of humanity. The Earth doesn't want humans to die out, but isn't interested in all of them surviving. This adds further pressure to Gaborn because, as King of his people (Separate from the title of Earth King; though the Earth King mantle is treated as something mythical that SHOULD supersede all other titles across not just Rofehaven, but the entire continent) during a time of war he already has to send men into battle knowing that some of them will die. He has to take Endowments from his people knowing it will leave them weakened. He generally has to accept that he cannot save everyone and that his actions will probably harm someone regardless of his intent. But the trait of caring for people, all people, is something he never really loses. Gaborn mentions toward the book's end that if it were up to him he wouldn't be fighting Raj Ahten at all. He only sees the other man as an enemy because he knows Raj Ahten will not stop trying to kill him, which has the effect of getting in Gaborn's way when he tries to stop the Reavers.
As Gaborn's counciler, the Earth Warden named Binnesman, often reminds him, Gaborn's task from the Earth isn't to be a warrior. It's to be a protector. And the difficulty in determining the difference, especially in a society where the King is expected to lead his armies from the front, can be called Gaborn's most difficult task in this story.

Raj Ahten

If we must die at least let us die in splendor
Raj Ahten died at the end of the second book. That's the big reveal that comes out at the start of Wizardborn. But because he has so many physical Endowments boosting his stamina, metabolism, dexterity, etc. his death hasn't caught up to him yet. It's really just such a neat concept. So, he spends this book basically growing colder, feeling his death gradually take hold of his body. It's an interesting thing, being able to know that you're dead while still moving around and thinking. And on his other side his fire wizards (Flame Weavers) are tempting him to become one of them, to give himself to the fire and saying that it will rejuvenate him (While also burning away the human parts of him). Across the previous books Raj Ahten went from a man who claimed he was amassing power in order to stop the Reavers to a man who clearly just wants power for the sake of having it. Does he want to fight the Reavers? Yes. Does he want to defend his nation of Indhopal? Yes. But is he willing to accept Gaborn as Earth King and serve him, or even ally with him? Absolutely not. That's where he draws the line and he doesn't care how much strife doing so causes.
As I said previously, the title of Earth King is treated as something magical, which all people on the continent bow to. This causes other power hungry Lords to scheme and lie, claiming that Gaborn is not the Earth King, in order to trick their people into supporting them while they work against Gaborn. Because anytime anyone sees that Gaborn truly is the Earth King they pretty much give their allegiance to him. The belief in the Earth King and His Right to rule is that strong. And because he refuses to do so, and due to other actions taken in previous books, Raj Ahten's forces have now split in two. Some still follow him, but many others see him as blasphemous for fighting and attempting to kill Gaborn (Doubly so because Gaborn is his cousin by marriage, and fighting relatives is another crime added to the list). These forces working against him push his story forward in this novel. He is the most physically powerful man in the world, close to being the Sum of All Men. But he is slowly dying. He is being tempted by the flames. He has to battle the Reveaers who have sprouted from the earth and begun attacking his nation. And he has to worry about his Dedicates being killed, for if a Dedicate is slain the Endowment he gave you will vanish as well.

Borenson and Myrrima

Love well and die well. Compared to those two things everything else you do in life amounts to insignificance
By Wizardborn we are actively jumping back and forth between more than 5 points of view per book. The series grows or branches out from the first one, covering more and more over time. So, while I could stop at just Gaborn and Raj Ahten, who are basic polar opposites, I would be remiss if I didn't cover Borenson and Myrrima as well. And it really is just due to simple favoritism. These two are great, but they are also the two who were introduced in the first chapter of book 1, alongside Gaborn. Borenson is Gaborn's trusted bodyguard, having known him almost his entire life. Myrrima, through Gaborn's actions, is Borenson's wife. And let me tell you these two are put through it! i mentioned earlier that Borenson was maimed at the end of Book 2. Yeah...He had his testicles crushed by Raj Ahten, who literally grabbed them and crushed them with his bare hands. And you know what? This is only a minor part of Borenson's wounds. In the first book he is tasked by Gaborn's father to kill some of Raj Ahten's Dedicates. Remember, Dedicates are people who have given their Endowments to a Runelord. While most of them do this by choice many of them are forced to do this as casualties of war. Raj Ahten has so many Endowments of Voice that he can compel people to do things they wouldn't normally do, like opening their gates to an enemy. But either way killing a Runelord's Dedicates is a tried and true tactic in battle. It will cause him, and many of his best soldiers, to lose power at a crucial moment. But...Can you live with taking innocent lives in such a way? Well, Borenson has to try. Because the first book saw him kill 2,000 Dedicates linked to Raj Ahten.
So, Borenson is physically maimed, mentally drained, and has basically lost any sense of loving life or ability to see value in himself. It's a very good thing that Gaborn paired him with Myrrima, who admits to loving Borenson with her whole heart and who wants to help heal him. But apart from all that emotional stuff, Myrrima is a badass. Across 3 books she goes from a beautiful commonor in the marketplace to a trained bowman who slays a demonic creature targetting Gaborn's wife. She takes on Endowments of her own that make her the physical equal of many men. She has the ability to kill Raj Ahten at one point, but spares him only at Gaborn's order. And in this book its revealed (Only at the end) that she is connected to Water Wizards, being a fabled Wizardborn. Calling her a badass almost doesn't do her justice to be honest. She fights demons Reavers, Wights (Ghostly spirits), possessed warriors, etc. It is insane to me that she is not more popular. I see those comments of "What makes a good female character" at least once a month. And I always think "David Farland, Runelords, Myrrima". That's the answer right there. And there are other characters too. Iome, Averan, and Erin Connall. But Myrrima truly stands out as just the best kind of character. She comes from the most humble of beginnings, entering the series in such a way that you don't really expect her to do much. "Oh, the great warrior Borenson has a wife. They'll have kids eventually and maybe she'll stop his womanizing ways". But she becomes a fully realized character in her own right, who then helps Borenson with far greater issues than just womanizing.
Borenson and Myrrima are almost inversions of what you expect them to be. One is introduced as a great warrior, who women love. The other is introduced as a beautiful woman who is bonded to that great warrior. By Wizardborn it's Myrrima who is known as a great warrior and Borenson has been unmanned. And this story is them spending more time together than ever, trying to figure out the workings of their relationship and simply fall in love properly. Borenson is a man who, even before the events of the first novel, was scarred by his upbringing. In comparison Myrrima's upbringing was somewhat traditional. The two of them complement one another so well and go on separate character journies during the first two novels, which finally bring them into emotional conflict in this one. Borenson can't love Myrrima because he doesn't truly know waht love is. Myrrima wants to love Borenson, but has to deal with not only Borenson's coldness but the fact that, due to Raj Ahten, they might never have children. This pairing is actually way more intersting than Gaborn's marriage and could easily be the focus of a novel by itself.

Final Thoughts

True friends must be cherished beyond all worldly measure. For in our memory they shine brighter than gold and last longer than diamonds
Look. If nothing I have said has convinced you to read this series....Just read the series! It's one of the best i've ever read. While the author passed away before he could release Book 9 (The final book in the series) the first 4 books alone make up a complete tale for Gaborn and his friends. So, don't look at it as a Game of Thrones situation. Look at it as a series with 2 cycles,. While the second of was unfortunately never finished you can still enjoy the first, which is perfect in almost every way. This is a top 10 series for me. I could go on talking about it all day. I could write pages breaking down each of the 4 books, but part of reading, I think, is exploring these books for yourself and finding your own enjoyment in them. If you decide to do that i'm certain you won't be disappointed. Similar to Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn (Tad Williams), Runelords is classic fantasy, but it's the best kind of classic fantasy. It gives you that feeling of entering a world both different, yet familiar, filled with intriguing characters, magic, and a great evil you want to see cast down.

Episode 17

After the Golden Kingdom is sunk underground by an insane magician, its king emerges, promising all of his treasure to any who defeat the magician, before crumbling to dust. Guilds are spurred on by this promise, traversing the labyrinthine dungeon in search of the magician. Laios, the leader of one such guild, encounters a dragon that wipes out his party and devours his sister Falin. Despite having lost the entirety of their supplies and belongings, Laios along with Marcille, an elven healer, and Chilchuck, a halfling thief, immediately reenter the dungeon, determined to save Falin.
Time being of the essence, Laios suggests the taboo of eating the monsters of the dungeon as a means of gathering supplies. Upon the preparation of their first meal in the dungeon, they are stopped by an onlooking dwarf named Senshi. An enthusiast of monster cooking, he helps them prepare their monster ingredients for safe consumption. After learning of Laios' circumstances, Senshi expresses his desire to cook a dragon and joins their guild, thus beginning their food-filled foray into the dungeon together.

Interesting story from a while back. Named the "SEO Heist"
A small corner of social media was set on fire when tech entrepreneur Jake Ward posted the results of his self-described “SEO heist.”
If you’re not familiar with SEO, it stands for “search engine optimization.” It’s the way you make your website more attractive to search engines and improve your site’s ranking in the results pages.
For some sites, that means creating the kind of high-quality experience that people want to search for. To others, it means trying to game the system with cheap tactics and crap content.
And there’s no better description than that for what Ward’s agency did.
Using 100% AI-generated content, they were able to “steal” 3.6 million views from a competitor.
The plan was a simple one:

1. Download a competitor’s sitemap. (A list of all of their web pages.)
2. Turn the entire list into blog titles.
3. Use those titles as prompts for an AI content writer.

Following this blueprint, it only took a few hours to crank out 1,800 “new” articles – all without the touch of a human hand.

Was the agency’s SEO heist successful?

For a surprising amount of time, it did work. Over the course of 18 months, Ward’s derivative site garnered 3,600,000 views.
