A few days ago posted a question about how to cut out the tiny stickers for a Japanese platform kit I found online. The post got more traction than I thought it would so I thought I'd post an update. As I said in the previous post, I am fairly new at this so please excuse the green void + not to scale Lego Himeji castle in the background. Overall the process took 4-5 hours in which I had to precisely cut and apply 30+ stickers (ngl I didn't count how many but about that much).
Here's a bulleted list of what I learned for any future newbies:

Applying stickers, not cutting, was the most difficult part. You have to put one object only a few millimeters in size over anonther object only a few milimeters in size. Best advice I can give is to make sure to stabelize both hands against something like the counter top when applying.
- For the most part a brand new, sharp xacto knife did most of the straight line work.
When the xacto knife didn't work, a pair of hobby scissors did. This happened mostly in two scenarios. First, with really detailed cuts such as circles (which I had to turn into octogons). And second, for when I was towards the end of the process and didn't have enough left of the sticker sheet to get traction.
You need to be careful with the small parts. It was actually fairly cheap plastic so I broke some of the roof decals when laying down the detachable roof.
It's not a huge deal if you mess up, the closest you'll ever look at it is when you are making it. N scale is so small that mistakes are actually hard to notice.

Overall, it's far from perfect but I'm pretty happy with it. The Yamanote Line E235 Type shown in the pictured seems pretty happy with it and that's all that matters .

Hello there and well met! If you’ve made it past the flavor text (or skipped it) and through the basic info (hopefully didnt skip past that one) you might very well be at the right address! Without further ado onto the post.

🐲The campaign🐲

Having only just recovered from the Second Sundering and the War of the Silver Marches, the North had been ravaged by a whole new set of tumultuous events - the rise of the Cult of the Dragon and that of the Absolute, the Fall of Eltruel and the short reign of the beholder crime lord Xanathar just some among them. After a brief respite from the twisted and the unnatural the clouds once more begin to gather. Along the Long Road, whole hosts of wild beasts and monsters have been accosting travelers seemingly at random and in the grand metropolis of Waterdeep a sudden rise in crime seems to coincide with strange events passing unnoticed beneath the surface. Amidst all this, in spring of 1493 DR, a party of adventurers delves into a mystery of enchanted gemstones being utilized to nefarious ends by unknown perpetrators all the while navigating the labyrinthine twists of city faction politics.
As implied by the post title, this is an ongoing campaign (we are 12 sessions in at the time of this post). Due to some irl commitments weve recently dropped a player and are looking to replace them.
As the title suggests, this is a roleplay focused mystery/lore driven campaign. Expect an overreaching plot with ample secrets to uncover, conspiracies to unravel and eldritch truths to unearth. The first word of the password is "Doth". On the same level of importance or more important even be that the players preference, there is a variety of subplots to engage with, from small and goofy and random to ones rivaling the main story arc in complexity and variance. Among these, individual character story arcs play a leading role, at times seamlessly intertwined with the current focus of the party, at times separate and independent.
As was already mentioned and is further described below, this is a roleplay focused campaign and a roleplay heavy game. This means that roleplay exists as a unifying concept for all other aspects of the game including exploration, combat, and puzzles. That said DnD is only DnD with all three of its main pillars intact and this campaign is no exception in that regard. I very much enjoy the mechanical side of the game as well besides roleplay and so things like multiphase boss fights and custom magic items are definitely on the table.

🧙‍♂️The DM🧙‍♂️

Hello there, Jay here, 25 yo law student from Central Europe currently working on finishing his master’s degree, trying to stay afloat in the current lease market. I study and work in a law firm by day and DM or play DnD by night (more like evening but night sounded cooler). I have been a big fan of TTRPGs since my early teens and of online DnD for the past five years. I’ve DMed multiple campaigns, finished CoS not least among them and I currently play in a long-term campaign. Before you ask, yes, my schedule is strained but not to the point I am unable to engage with my hobbies.
I would describe my DMing style as driven, realistic, and involved but also very conscious about player agency and collaborative storytelling as core values that make TTRPGs so popular and unique. I spend a lot of time ensuring the worlds I create and the stories I want to tell feel alive. From hand-picked music, to fully voiced NPCs and scenic descriptions designed to breathe life into the campaign setting I daresay my games rival in quality those of the professional DMs that charge for each session.
There is a drawback to this all however. Second word of the password is "thy". I expect a lot from my players as well. Writing a story in DnD is not a one person job. It takes a collective effort of the entire group to create something truly unique, something that one can be proud while looking forward to each session. Unwinding and letting off steam means something else for everyone. For me it means losing myself in the creative process of roleplaying an NPC or describing a scene, watching my players masterfully portray their own characters or having the party derail my plans in an awesome unforeseen and unexpectedly enriching way. If you find yourself in any of what I just described than this may be a game for you. If you don’t, that’s fine. This is definitely not a game for everyone.

🏰The setting🏰

Forgotten Realms is a default setting of Dungeons and Dragons but it is anything but boring and mundane. With now decades worth of lore behind it, it offers an unparalleled opportunity for anyone wanting to build on solid foundations to bring their ideas to life. While it has garnered a lot of attention lately with the release of a certain videogame (more people now know Astarion than a good amount of Hollywood celebrities I’d say) it has had its loyal following even before then, being constantly expanded and living its own life in a host of both online and home games. It’s been a natural choice of mine for a while now and not once have I had any regrets. The third word of the password is "mirror". I feel with how great of a variety of content the Forgotten Realms offer everybody is able to pick something that suits their creative vision. In summary the Forgotten Realms almost feel like a real place with how much worldbuilding has been done with them and offer a diversity of content few other TTRPG settings can boast.
When it comes to setting of the campaign in the world of Faerun I have once again made a somewhat traditional pick and decided to place the onset of the game onto the Sword Coast, more precisely into the city of Waterdeep. If one of the key upsides of Forgotten Realms is diversity of content, Waterdeep is one of the best representations of this. Being the largest settlement on the known Faerun, Waterdeep offers nigh limitless options in terms of main story arc genre, character creation and character backstory implementation. It has everything every large TTRPG settlement ought to have (fickle upper class, enigmatic factions, quaint taverns and extravagant nightclubs, always in bad mood city watch, a castle and a harbor) as well as few pretty original ideas such as colossal definitely not alive statues, a city council where even its members don’t know each other’s identity and a massive dungeon right underneath the city where you can literally fall right from a tavern taproom.
In case you are wondering, while this campagn takes place primarily in the city of Waterdeep itself, there is nothing stopping the players from exploring past the city if they so choose. The final word of the password is "crack?". Different parts of the main plot and various subplots can and will encourage the party to explore Waterdeep environs and sometimes even further.

to apply you need to be 20+ yo
you need a functioning webcam (at the time of application) and a stable internet connection - we will be using both video and voice on discord and as a general rule Wifi doesn’t handle long video calls well (believe me when I say I speak from experience) so cable or other similar form of stable connection is strongly encouraged
you need a Discord account and you will need a Forge account - Forge is a hosting service for Foundry, don’t worry, you won’t need to input any personal info (besides maybe an email) to register and I will be footing the bill
you need a PC that can and will run Foundry Virtual Tabletop - check the minimum requirements on the Foundry website, a fair warning, Foundry won’t run on tablets and phones (not that you should consider those in the first place)
you need at least an elementary knowledge of Dungeons and Dragons 5th edition - when it comes to the awareness of the rules, I won’t be too harsh, but definitely don’t apply if the first time you’ve seen the PHB was a week ago
you need TTRPG/roleplay experience and/or a very strong roleplay inclination - this is a heavy roleplay game where most if not all ingame talk will be done in character and where you will be expected to voice your character in a way that is distinct from your standard voice
you will need to be very punctual when it comes to session attendance - I expect my players to attend most if not all sessions, online or not, this campaign is a designed as a longterm commitment and by applying you are acknowledging this, having other hobbies and time-consuming real-life obligations is understandable (I got those too) but those 4-5 hours you will be expected to set aside for the session

Yesterday i (22M) broke up with my gf(20F), after 5 years of relation and 2 years of problems we put an end to it. But it wasnt as i expected, it was tragic and yes there was crying, but at the end we managed to get up and began building more of our friendship. Out problems began after she saw a tiktok video at the beginning of 2022 and began thinking she didnt loved me anymore, but that stuff affected her so much that eventually she believed it, and in november of 2022, a week after our anniversary she said she liked a guys from her class but they never talked so she didnt wanted to leave me. After that we discussed a bit and in january we took 2 weeks for ourselves, she had a psyquiatrist due to having anxiety problems coming from covid and we decided to returned our relation. But the thing was that she felt that she didnt deserved me, that i treated her better that she did. After that things went "well" until a year after the big heavy conversation, where she was sad of the stuff that were happening. Early this year we had some problems cause she started hating stuff about me and i began trying to changed those stuff. But then at the end of february we went on a trip with her family into a camping, were she got mad due to i asked a question that for her seems inappropiate but for the other person is not (i asked her female best friend about her asperger and how is feeling after knowing she have it, she likes when people talks about that stuff and responds really nice, but for some reason my ex had a problem with it and didnt told me, that moment i was like: "WTF"?) and didnt talked to me the next day. After that 2 days later we took a time, she said that she wanted someone more mature and also that hated stuff about me. I got really deppresed and began working on those stuffs, during that time she began uploading more stories than usual to instagram. After a month of the time we took i had a surgery and she came to visit, i said i still wanna be with her and she agreed, but we didnt kiss. But a day later she said she wanted to not talk to us for the moment. And now, after a month we broke up. I knew it was coming and i began preparing myself for it, we talked about the stuff that happened and how she felt, she said that loved my actitude but not me, but she didnt want to hurt me so put a mask and went on after she couldnt more. After that conversation i proposed something, i told her "lets make this flame die and let it reborn as it began, a friendship" and she, while crying, told me that she would loved to. After that we went to a mall, talking as we used to and with the certainty that, while we arent in a romantic relation anymore, we are still each others best friends. She even later told me if we could do calls and stuff.
But before yesterday, something else began to happened, my dog is ill and im scared we had to put him to sleep, or at least yesterday my mom said that and if my heart was hurted, now is almost destroyed. After being all alone, when my first dog died in my arms, i was devastated, specially due to the fact that my parents couldnt say goodbye cause they were also on a trip.
But i also feel that everything is gonna be ok, i know thing hurt and that the feeling is gonna stay for a while, but at the end its all gonna be ok. I now have a best friend that i would trust my life with and while im sad i know the sun will shine

At first glance, Protestant Christianity and Wahhabism might seem like movements from entirely different worlds. One emerged from the heart of Europe in the 16th century, the other arose in the deserts of Arabia (Najd?) in the 18th. Yet, I was reading this book that is amongst the best works about enlightenment is the west. There was a part that was talking about Protestants and the Christian Reform movements, I was absolutely shocked to know how similar it was to the Wahhabi branch of Sunni Islam. If you study for yourself a closer look reveals some fascinating parallels both in their origin story and their approaches to life on the all three levels (Individual - Social - Political). Both movements were fueled by a deep yearning for religious renewal out mixture of a feeling defeated and the feeling of blaming religious misguidance in order to rationalize that sense of defeat. The two movements wanted a return to what they believed were the core principles of their respective faiths. This shared goal manifested in several key similarities:

Return to Scripture: Both Protestants and Wahhabis emphasized a return to the foundational texts of their religions. Protestants revered the Bible, rejecting the authority of the Catholic Church and its interpretations. They believed the Church had strayed from the purity of the Bible's message, focusing instead on elaborate rituals, veneration of saints, and the Pope's authority. Similarly, Wahhabism arose in response to what its followers saw as a decline in Islamic practice and the blamed it on Ottomans. They argued that Muslims had become lax in their adherence to the Quran and the teachings of Prophet Muhammad. Wahhabi scholars emphasized a strict, literal interpretation of the Quran, rejecting practices like Sufi mysticism and concept of Tawassol which is absolutely there in sunni sources too.
Challenge to Religious Authority: I remember myself every single day in university seeing the a letter from Safavid times between Safavid king and Ottoman caliph, the start of the letter had such words of respect in it. The Najd movement and the other Arab religious rejection of Ottoman rule is like the reform movement in Christianity. Both movements challenged the established religious hierarchy. Protestants, most notably Martin Luther, rejected the authority of the Pope and the Catholic Church. They argued that the Church had become corrupt and interposed itself between individuals and their relationship with God. They emphasized the importance of individual interpretation of the Bible and a direct connection with God through faith. Similarly, Wahhabism arose in direct opposition to the dominant religious practices of the time in Arabia. Wahhabi scholars rejected the authority of religious scholars who had incorporated practices they viewed as heretical, such as saint veneration (Twassol) and many other things.
Focus on Individual Piety: Both Protestant reformers and Wahhabi scholars stressed the importance of personal faith and a direct relationship with God/Allah. Protestants emphasized the concept of "priesthood of all believers," meaning that individuals could access God directly without the need for a priest or intermediary. This focus on individual piety led to a new emphasis on personal religious experience and the importance of living a moral life according to God's will. Wahhabi teachings likewise emphasized the importance of individual piety and a super strict adherence to Islamic law (Sharia).
Use of Violence in Early History: A critical similarity, though often overshadowed by the later peaceful developments in Protestantism, is the fact that both movements caused massive expenditure of blood for sectarian causes during their early formations. The Protestant Reformation sparked numerous religious wars across Europe, as Protestant princes and rulers challenged the Catholic Church's authority (Look up 30 years war). Wahhabi scholars in Najd who allied with the House of Saud, had in their conditions to reject what they saw as Shirk using swords, and that way of thought went into almost all Arab countries, then gave birth to various Takfiri movements that until today is causing bloodshed. Before that of course sectarianism could cause bloodshed, but the way a terror group like ISIL specifically prioritizes the destruction of things related to Shia is absolutely because of what I described.

To further prove my point about respect between Shia and Sunni pre-Wahhabism, look at this letter: Nuruddin Jahangir's letter to Shah Abbas the great in response to a letter from Shah Abbas. The present letter was written after Jahangir's conquests, and he now shows his respect and devotion to Shah Abbas because he considers his conquests to be the result of receiving Shah Abbas's letter (intel?).

P.S: One crazy point is that I hear from many people, and I also can see it in the videos online that Sunni debate Shia in the UK in ways that they are not passionate even about the most anti-religion atheists. I think this is a unique thing in UK, in America things seem to be better for the Shia, but for some reason, the UK muslims are more under this influence. I think it would be beneficial for every party involved in here to create more awareness about these things, we do not have to go through the cycle of violence anymore, and even in speech, we can be towards each other the way the Safavid king was to Ottoman caliph (had respect for each other when there was no war).
P.S 2: Another fun fact here but unrelated: Did you know that in times of war between Safavids and Ottomans, both armies used Shahnameh as their source of Rajaz poetry? In fact the Ottoman Turkish had so much Persian + Arabic in it, that the Turks today cannot access their heritage. Both the writing system and the language itself today is not recognizable by today's people in Turkey.

Bought a shield x peter McKinnon ring from them a while ago, and really enjoyed it. Unfortunately the blue pietersite stone was not secured properly and fell out after a small bump into the car’s window frame, so the stone fell out of the car and is lost. Reached out to their support and warranty was declined, which I did not argue about as bumping the ring into the window frame is technically my fault (even though there was no significant physical force applied, just a slight bump). I replied to them asking if there is an option to repair the ring for a fee, and was informed that it is impossible. Furthermore, I inquired if it is possible to at least purchase the stone from them so I can fix the ring myself, and I was declined in this option as well. The ring itself was quite pricey, I paid 340 CAD for it and I did not want to sell it as just silver to the jewelry store for a couple of dollars, so I inquired to them once more to at least get measurements of the stone so I can purchase it online somewhere else and socket it into the ring (funny enough they don’t even have measurements for their jewelry on their website). It took them a month to get back to me with wrong measurements, for the round stone their reply was measurements 19x19 mm. Now then, I am not that good at geometry but for sure I know that you cannot describe the round object this way. I replied them back if by 19 mm they mean the diameter of a round stone and they replied that diameter and width of the stone is 19 mm. Prior to that I did measure the ring’s socket’s diameter and it was roughly 13 mm, so totally confused I go back to measure my ring with three different rulers and yep, it is indeed 13 mm and also I measured the approximate depth of the socket which is roughly 3-4mm (so then the width of the stone is supposed to be around this number too). So, lastly I get back to them again and asking to provide accurate measurements this time and they replied that diameter and width of the stone are both 12.75 mm, which is quite impossible because it wouldn’t be a round stone anymore, but a cylindrical one. Ended up ordering a stone with diameter of 12.7 mm, calibrated to 13 and with a width of 4.71mm, waiting for it to be delivered and hopefully it will fit. Totally disappointed in their customer service and inability to even provide accurate measurements of their product. Also, I tried to post a one star review on their website and… it does not appear there lol, not surprising that only reviews they have are 5 stars reviews.

Lately I've been trying to find some answers for questions that have burdened me for a very long time. Some of these questions revolve around the person of Isa ibn Maryam, whom I think is one of, if not the most important figure in our modern lives - considering his story is yet to be concluded, and could involve anyone of us at any moment. Please note, I'm just trying to find answers and don't mean to offend if I come across that way.
So, the Qur'an states that Jesus is Christ, the Messiah, a great prophet and the Word of God (3:45 & 19:30), and that when the disbelievers attempted to crucify him, he wasn't crucified, but it was "made to appear so" (4:157), but actually "Allah raised him up to Himself" (4:158). My problem stems from surah 3:55, where it states concerning the crucifixion: "[remember] when Allah said, "O Jesus! I will take you and raise you up to Myself." The issue is in the word translated to "take you", which in the original Arabic is "muttawafikka". There is actually a footnote on this ayah on quran.com which states:
"‘Mutawaffîka’ means literally: “I will make you reach the end of your worldly term.” The popular Muslim belief is that a conspiracy was made to kill Jesus. Allah made the main culprit who betrayed Jesus look exactly like Jesus, while the culprit was crucified."
The thing is I confirmed through several different sources (online dictionaries, sheikhs & my own average knowledge of Arabic), that this word actually means to "make deceased" (coming from "wafat" meaning "death"). I tried finding an answer to this apparent contradiction from people of knowledge online and in person but I never got a clear answer, and it sort of led me to another question: isn't it sort of a deception that Allah made people think Jesus died on the cross when He in fact saved him? And wouldn't that mean that the early disciples and Christians were confused until the revelation to the prophet Muhammad in ~630s AD? Because at the same time the Qur'an also makes amazing claims about Jesus which could understandably lead to the questioning of his identity (most notably, bringing life to clay birds and raising the dead back to life (5:110) as well as this hadith in Sahih Bukhari (3448) which states that "surely (Jesus,) the son of Mary will soon descend amongst you and will judge mankind justly (as a Just Ruler)").
Any help would be seriously appreciated and I pray someone points me in the right direction inshaAllah, ameen.
