2024.05.17 22:42 Public-Product-1503 How good is Darius garland -for those interested and open minded

Seeing a lot of slander on this man . Firstly let me deal with the dummies . No we cannot play a non shooting big next to AD if you find a cheap big that t can shoot n defend go ahead list it , AD is best at C he was even in 2020. As it stands our back court vs other teams is worst in league. Most stars are guards.
Secondly MINNY HAS CONLEY WHOS EVEN SMALLER and vital and old /limited. There best player is Ant a 6,5 guard that’s who’s kicking Denver ass . Minny might be the next contenders you build to improve your team not for one team. A guard who can shoot n attack is what causes Denver issues n the thing we need in general
Garland Is closer to kyrie then Dlo . The idiots are like those who thought herro n msxey were similar in summer no - garland is literally twice the player Dlo is. He’s a better shooter from everywhere too only y Dlo got easier looks here .
Before this injury year he’s legitimately an all star lvl two years even with limitations by playing off Mitchell . He lost 30lb with a broken jaw , And he’s young and can improve . Some data to check ( check that cs dlo ) :
https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/g/garlada01.html
https://dunksandthrees.com/playe1629636
He’s an amazing passer , he’s fast n can get downhill , he’s a bit weak finishing but he’ll just feed our bigs n Lebron there.
This guy was a + 4 epm player two years in a row . Btw this is around what Mitchell was in Utah . Garland even took a backseat last year with Mitchell arrival and was equally impactful to Mitchell on offence. He’s less of a scorer more a passer.
I don’t think you guys realise how good garland is. And he could get even fuckibg better. He’s young , a great passer, great touch n scorer n shooter from all three levels and knows how to run the offence. Hes 40%~ last few years from 3, 45-50..% in floater n midrange areas last few years. Imagine trae young but instead of awful defence you get average degence . You get a consistent shooter trae fir example best years we’re + 6 offensive epm -2 defence . Garland Is 3.8 off n o4.0 overall .
Id advice the haters to dig into it. Garland defensiveky is more like reaves before this year not amazing but not awful . There’s a reason cavs defence has been elite even with him and Mitchell. Because he isn’t bleeding value like trae or Dlo - Steph curry honestly in his better years is an apt defence comparison .
No he’s not Mitchell but if Mitchell is staying and extending garland is moving as he feels he’s not maximised - further sign we can get an ever better version . Id seriously advice the idiots judging him on this injured year to go watch his past two all star years.
Kyrie this year impact is quite close to garland all star year and his year after . It’s quite hard for kyrie n Garland to have that impact with a ball dominating guard with them . Garland is significantly better then dejounte on offence n Dejounte defence has slipped so badly it looks worse . I don’t trust it coming back n I don’t want a mediocre shooter and a guy who loves to hero ball with our stars .
Garland n Mitchell weren’t a fit if they can buy low on garland it’s an incredible deal. We get a young exciting pg who can seriously grow here and maybe improve and fits perfectly with AD. If you hate garland please watch these two videos going over deep dive of garland when he first became an all star, also o his defence is atleast neutral ish for a pg n way better then Dlo :
Thinking basketball : Darius garland - there’s a little Steve Nash in garland !:
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=f0XntMgNryg
How Darius blossomed into an AS the ringer:
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=FBW8GujEmdY
This was with garland rise.
This sub has gone loony . What size is Mike Conley ? Minny seem fine right ? Reality is the best way for us to improve is star lvl bavk ciurt plsyer . Darius this year had a broken jaw n couldn’t ear n lost 29/30 lbs n messed up his year.
If you don’t want a high iq, amazing passer, amazing midrange n fkoster shooter with an amazing 3 ball who will feed Bron n AD AND KNOWS HOW TO RUN OFFFENCE and pressure defence then you are daft. I feel confident saying if he came we finally wouldn’t be worst team in the league with Bron sitting as he maybe is the best actual pg Bron has had .Garland value prob at a bit of a low and we should buy low if possible. If we go into next year with dlo or Dejounte the season will be the same shitty season , a Mitchell, kyrie , Darius , trae lvk guy will atleast really offer us something special . Garland had the cavs looking great befire Mitchell . He n his agent want out BECAUSE they feel he is not thriving with Mitchell.
On top of this I imagine he’s cheaper by far then Mitchell in asset cost which matters. We can upgrade the rest of roster enough too. Garland is the perfect upgrade to Dlo . And significantly more fun ti watch then trae with less issues. We all see Dlo fits right ?
This actually seems viable unlike Mitchell from what’s coming out . Please just actually look into this guy instead of calling him dlo. He’s more like 90% of kyrie lvl but a more playmaking player. Better passer worse rim finisher n scorer . A guy who easily gives you 21/9 efficiently .
If you have better targets name em. I think with 4 picks n 4 swaps we can get garland and make upgrades n round out the roster . We cannot go into next season with a mid non star lvl gusrd . Long post but I’d advice watching the videos . If we somehow get him I really think he’ll provide everything we need . Great feeding bigs too
Also he’s 23 And was rapidly growing pre Mitchell move

2024.05.17 14:54 Flying_Snails_Today2 Debunking a Debunk on Mahito vs DIO (Jujutsu Kaisen vs Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure)

So I saw a bad debunk on my original MU that being Mahito vs DIO you can find here: https://www.reddit.com/DeathBattleMatchups/s/alOMCAXboQ
Here’s the response I made copy and pasted from the comments to ensure this debunk doesn’t stretch to far despite it being very bad IMO. Slightly edited with better spelling and grammar from the original comment. No hate to the guy who made the debunk. Don’t harass him or me or really anyone tbh that’s not cool. You can criticize us and stuff but don’t be a dick.

Ngl this seems pretty fucking bad.
Let’s start off with the criticism of the monster connection. Actually what’s the issue here sure they’re different but at the end of the day they are still a type of monster the connection works even if it isn’t strong it’s not a wrong connection the argument against is pretty fucking stupid. We can’t compare any monsters if they aren’t the exact same or extremely fucking similar? What if we have an MU where a major part of both characters is the type of monster they are but they’re entirely different monsters? Can we just not use that major part of them in the connections. Something I’d say VERY MUCH applies here. Also DIO IS NOT A CLASSIC FUCKING VAMPIRE HE IS SO FUCKING DIFFERENT THAN ANY VERSION OF THE CLASSIC TROPE I EVER SEEN THE FACT YOU BOIL HIM DOWN TO THE STANDARD VAMPIRE IS FUCKING LAUGHABLE. And you say basic but them being these monsters is fucking important to their characters like I said so this complaint is shit.
The hater connection is literally a joke one. Thats literally why it’s been crossed out like this it’s so fucking stupid to get so heated over what is quite literally a joke connection.
I’ll be 100% honest it’s been a hot minute since I’ve only watched like a single part of Jojo’s so if the connection isn’t as strong as I’ve been told it could be myb ig. But also while yes it is more of Jogo’s dream we see Mahito very evidently had to have shared the dream that’s why he and Jogo are on the same team and Jogo decided to make Mahito the leader. Even in Shibuya when Mahito changed the exacts of how he wanted the plan to go he was still obviously on Jogo’s side though and wanted to do the same thing he did despite the exacts of how they wanted to do this changing.
Also Jesus fucking Christ a generic connection connected to or pasted in between shit?! How will I ever recover!?!?! It’s almost like some characters have more generic parts to their characters that can still be address in a series of connection that cover more than some core basics of connections. I will be skipping over any “DHUHRURU BASIC” criticism since this point can be applied to any of em.
A tool that… also meant a lot to Mahito’s base plans? Yeah sure Puuci meant a lot more to DIO but the connection still holds true. He was actually the main part of Mahito’s original plan to revive Sukuna.
Says weird comparison and doesn’t explain it.
Once again going off what I learn and been told if it’s wrong because I didn’t see enough Jojo’s and shit myb. I’ll take the heat on the connections that actively have problems and don’t boil down to a when the connections aren’t 1-1.
I love barely explained criticisms they’re the best ya know.
Quite literally wtf does fate have to do with anything. This doesn’t affect the connection at all. Like no seriously what part of this does the fate for the Joestars even fucking matter. Everything about this is still true this argument is so fucking annoying. This complaint is so stretched like oh my god. They are the arch-enemy.
Skipping to the mask and prison realm thing. I love barely explained complaints they are so awesome so cool. So fun so wow. Shows you definitely do a good job in your debunks and don’t just mindlessly say everything about an MU BAD.
Yeah no the betrayed part is entirely on me very much a my bad I’ll admit that connection was shitty and should’ve have worded it much better at least. Although their connection is far from unfixable.
We complaining about kill counts tonight folks. Like honestly this complaint is so picky and honestly shitty I can’t even. Yes what Mahito did was on a much larger scale, yes he racked up a far higher kill count, does it change the core connection? No. This really embodies a lot of issues I have with this. It’s not criticism it’s just insulting the matchup with barely explained reasoning, insulting connections you admit are fine to make them seem worse than they are, or just nit picking on extra details that quite literally don’t matter and have little to no effect on the core of a connection. At the end of the day these events were both massacres these two were directly responsible for.
I would address the rest if I had time that I quite literally don’t at the moment have but yeah. This criticism isn’t good. There was like 3 actual problems tbh and I’d say at least one of them can be fixable. Or you just didn’t explain the fucking problem properly.
Edit: I have time let’s go through what’s left shall we.
We have our final connection that’s still just complaining about this not being 1-1. Honestly this post really embodies the “DBM when connections aren’t 1-1” shit. Most MUs aren’t exact 1-1’s with every connection and that’s ok. But I don’t know why the fact that every single part of every single connection has to be damn near the exact same in order for this to be considered a not bad matchup. It baffles me. Kenjaku and Jotaro were in the end who got the kill instead of Yuji and Johnathan it’s something that’s objectively true and yet is being stretched so hard to make it an issue with the connection.
I disagree with you on the animation potential entirely but I’m not the best at explaining AP and I get the dynamic might not be for everyone so if you disagree with me here over everything then that’s fine I honestly understand.
So what you said about the one segment about DIOcard on loop is just… objectively false. Like both have so much more to do. Mahito can grow wings or turn into a bird. Then give himself large claws alongside the wing for an air battle. You can have ISBODK Mahito match the world in a stand clash. You can do a lot with the environment depending on where this takes place from throwing cars, to having entire buildings and significant structures crumbling or being used as shield and weaponry. Mahito could open his domain only for DIO to use time stop to react and you can have a bad ass scene of his laser eyes burning through Mahito and his domain before it completely forms destroy Mahito’s domain and leaving him low in cursed energy. Forcing Mahito to run up and land a black flash to instantly heal his burnt out CT like he did with Todo. You can have moments for the two to use more strategy. Like Mahito using transfigured humans to stall DIO for short periods as he comes up with plans, or DIO freezing Mahito and tossing his frozen body away while he tries to figure out how to hurt him.
You can honestly and have moments where you can tell these two are somewhat scared of the other but they don’t ever show it outside a few facial expressions or smth. That way you can show how despite the fact they are fighting on what should be even footing they actually are worried they may lose this fight and are scared of the damage their opponent can do. Also like in DIOcard you should have DIO destroy and harm Mahito a lot more as Mahito can more easily afford to take damage here while DIO can’t. You can have Mahito try to break DIO mentally only for bro to not give a damn. It could be like DIOCard is what I think while also burning enough to the table on its own to warrant its existence as a fight.
And I’m done here.

That’s my edited comment. Only like 3 things are actual problem (and explained why they’re actual problems) and I can still fix at least one of those with better choice of wording. Overall this debunk sucks. It’s not good in the slightest and suffers many issues of “not an exact 1-1” or stretching what happened by being extremely nit picky on certain details that really don’t change a damn thing. Worst offender is by far the fate with the bloodline complaint as it doesn’t even mess with anything I said. It’s just an extra bit of reasoning within the universe. Anyhow peace chat

2024.05.17 13:12 wkomorow 20 years ago today, Mass became the first state to legalize same sex marriage

On Nov 18, 2003, the Mass Supreme Court ruled that restrictions on same sex marriage were unconstituional. Their ruling went into effect May 17, 2004; 20 years ago today. And, we have come a long way. Over 80% of Bay Staters today support the rights of same sex couples to marry, the highest support in the nation.
Despite this, haters remain around us. They are attempting to get elected to local school boards, not to make schools better but to ban inclusive curriculae. Proud Boys and similar groups have shut down Drag Queen Storyhours. Librarians and teachers are under attack for curating inclusive materials. Queer youth continue to be marginalized in some schools.
Gay couples only seek the same rights as straight people, the right to love, marry, raise a family, be recognized when their spouse or child faces a medical emergency.
Worldwide, gay couples can now marry in 37 nations, including most of North and South America, most of Western Europe, and in Australia, New Zealand, Taiwan, Nepal, and South Africa. Massachusetts played no small role in that struggle for queer equality. Hate has no place in 2024, whether that be homophobia, racism, or hate for religious or ethnic groups.

A dapper scent for the discerning gentleman. Guerlain Habit Rouge EDP, a comprehensive review 👇🏼
(Pc: Tried)

Guerlain

⭕️The epitome of French sophistication and luxury, boasts a rich history dating back to 1828 when Pierre-François Pascal Guerlain , a chemist and perfumer, founded the house in Paris. With an innate talent for blending exquisite scents, Guerlain quickly garnered attention and patronage from aristocrats and royalty.
⭕️One of Guerlain's early triumphs came in 1853 when Pierre-François created Eau de Cologne Impériale for Empress Eugénie , wife of Napoleon III. This fragrance, inspired by the scent of Eau de Cologne brought to France by soldiers returning from Cologne, Germany, became a sensation, solidifying Guerlain's reputation as a purveyor of luxury perfumes. Under the subsequent generations of the Guerlain family, the brand continued to flourish. Aime Guerlain, Pierre-François's grandson, introduced groundbreaking fragrances such as Jicky in 1889 , often regarded as the first modern perfume, and Shalimar in 1925 , inspired by the gardens of Shalimar in Lahore , India.
⭕️Today, as it has for nearly two centuries (196 years), Guerlain remains a beacon of timeless sophistication. The brand is also known as one of the manufacturers of luxury cosmetics.

Fragrance Profile

This is a Fougère with twists. This is an aromatic—woody—amber fragrance.

Notes Here

  • [x] Lemon ✔️
  • [x] Bergamot
  • [x] Brazilian Red wood
  • [x] Orange
  • [x] Lime
  • [x] Tangerine
  • [x] Basil
  • [x] Rose ✔️
  • [x] Carnation ✔️
  • [x] Sandalwood ✔️
  • [x] Patchouli ✔️
  • [x] Cedar
  • [x] Cinnamon
  • [x] Jasmine
  • [x] Vanilla
  • [x] Leather ✔️
  • [x] Benzoin ✔️
  • [x] Amber ✔️
  • [x] Labdanum
  • [x] Oakmoss ✔️
This is a classic fragrance, the notes list is enormous. But I have checked ✔️, all the notes that I can perceive to make you grasp the idea of the fragrance with ease.

How it smells?

💄It opens with bright 🍋 lemon note, it is the same as in Guerlain’s vetiver too. This lemon note starts sharp but not very abrasive. The rest of the citruses are hard to perceive.
💄The immediate second note that’s noticeable is the carnation. The carnation is extremely masculine, it expresses powdery & spicy qualities. The carnation gives this fragrance a spicy & floral edge. Then comes the rose & sandalwood 🪵.
💄The Rose & carnation along with some woodsy notes gives this fragrance a Lipsticky nature or Makeup box like nuance. Many ppl may not agree with this, but this is certainly lipsticky. The rose here is hardly there, even rose haters won’t mind this one.
💄The whole fragrance is based on Oakmoss & patchouli. Other notes such as amber, Benzoin & leather are playing second fiddle. The overall fragrance has a barbershoppy 💈quality to it. Citrusy opening — floral & powdery mid & Oakmoss base.

Undecorated breakdown

This opens up with fizzy lemon & some spices. The spiciness maybe from the carnation. This dries down to a 💄lipsticky or makeup box sorta smell. To my nose, this smells like Waxy Hibiscus 🌺 in the dry-down. It is not given in the notes breakdown. I’m saying this for a better understanding of the subject. That’s all.

Performance

Longevity

🌕🌕🌕🌑🌑

Projection

🌕🌕🌗🌑🌑

Compliment

🌕🌕🌕🌑🌑
The longevity of the fragrance maybe got affected after number of serious reformulations, but when comparing it to my 2015 version, I think the performance is about the same. Lasts about 4–5hrs with medium bubble of projection. The people who appreciate classic perfumery will love this.

When & Where, For whom?

🌤️ This can be an all-Seasoner, but I wouldn’t wear it in high heat. Not because it get cloying or anything, but you might not able to appreciate the beauty of this in high heat summer.
🌤️ This is polarising to an extent, but has an inoffensive bubble, this can be a daily to the office. This is definitely a dress-up fragrance. For the mature audience.
🌤️ This is definitely masculine, old school French perfumery. If you are into some old-school fragrances, you wouldn’t be disappointed. But you gotta love the lipsticky rose & carnation to love this.

Similarities with other fragrances

I haven’t come across anything that smell like this. But if I have to compare, this can be compared to Cartier Declaration dun Soir, but added citruses ,leathery & lipsticky goodness. But the core of Roses & mild spices, is to an extent similar to Habit Rouge. But the rose is toned at the background at all given time in HR but its not the same with Declaration Dun Soir. The similarites are really far fetched, its rather a resemblance than similarity.

Verdict

🎖️This is an Old-school Barbershoppy fragrance with a twist. The overall fragrance can be polarising cuz of the lipsticky smell.
🎖️The performance is just about average. I wouldn’t know the performance on vintage batches like (pre 1996) but I owned 2015 bottle, its about the same.
🎖️If you are really into retro/ antiquated fragrances, then you will really love it. If you are a fan of modern day freshies & blues, this won’t please you.

TL;DR :

This is a masculine, old-school, barbershoppy, lipsticky floral fragrance, with 4-5hrs of longevity with medium bubble of projection.

2024.05.17 05:13 Maveriknight For those scratching their heads about Scholar's new Seraphism Skill

TL:DR - Seraphism is not a wild curve ball out of left field, but rather a case of an enemy's technique being adapted to our own use, has a fair chunk of lore that explains perfectly what it is, why it is, and what it does, and has since Shadowbringers. The wings could still be better though.
With the release of the new job actions trailer, I've noticed a lot of folks posting confusion and disappointment about Seraphism, the new Scholar skill which changes the caster's appearance when used and increases their healing abilities. While some of the posts are entirely fair, (looking at you, wing haters. Those things better at least be animated or something and not just rigid.) there's no shortage of folks who seem to think that Seraphism has come out of left field without any sort of context. Here's the thing though. I, and several others, concluded that Seraphism had a high probability of being plausible in the setting almost two years ago.
That's right, nearly two years ago, myself and some others predicted the skill Seraphism was not only possible, but plausible in Final Fantasy XIV, down to the appearance change and effects it'd have, and here's how and why;
A common theme i've noticed with the posts about Seraphism so far, aside from the hate around the wings, (again, I get it. not here to try and persuade anyone those things are good looking, they're not, they could use work.) is that a lot of folks seem to think that Seraphism is coming out of nowhere, and absolutely noone has posted anything i've seen pointing out that we've seen this exact technique before, up close and personal in combat. That's right, this isn't the first time we're seeing the technique. It's the first time someone's using it with a Seraph that we've seen though, so i'm not super surprised.
Remember Ranjit and his snake dragon Gukumatz in Shadowbringers? Remember when he merged with Gukumatz to augment his combat abilities dramatically? That's right. This is the exact same technique.
See, the thing about Gukumatz is that Gukumatz, as revealed by the lore around A-Rank hunt mark Huracan in Kholusia, is a familiar, an arcane construct. A flappy snake Carbuncle, if you will. It's possible that this means that Ranjit's enshrouded form is essentially a kind of trance, similar to Dreadwyrm and Phoenix trance, emulating and augmenting their abilities based on an arcane entity they encountered. We speculated at the time that, because Primals are essentially just another flavor of construct like carbuncles, in theory, and as demonstrated by Ranjit, it should be possible to create an artificial trance based on your own summon if the necessary conditions were met. but what were the conditions, you're likely wondering if you've suffered through this wall of text to this point?
Well, we know from the job quests related to Dreadwyrm trance that the trance state is achieved by meditating on and emulating the aether of the primal you're focusing on. This likely means that the condition needing met is that the aether of the target likely needs to be sufficiently different from your own, which means an average carbuncle would probably not work. What WOULD work, then?
Enter fairies and Seraph. These constructs are made in Nym, hundreds of years before the WoL was ever born! If anything were going to work for a trance state out of all our summons, it'd be these guys. With their very essence, their core, being a job stone, their aether's more likely than anything to be unique enough compared to our own that a trance is plausible. At least, without extreme modifications to the summons, but that's a lot more speculative than the rest of this, so we'll just ignore carbuncles entirely for now.
Of the two, if you were going to emulate one, you'd want to emulate the stronger, meaning Seraph is the natural choice to attempt this "seraph trance" state as we described it, and based on Ranjit, we speculated that, possibly due to the base aether being the caster's own, such a state would likely lead to an appearance change similar to what Ranjit undergoes using his own summon for such a state, meaning robes, wings, and like Ranjit enhanced his combat abilities, and the WoL augments theirs with Dreadwyrm and Phoenix trances, the Seraph trance would likely amplify the healing abilities of the caster in the process.
So aside from the name, we predicted essentially all the effects Seraphism would have, from the appearance change to the amplified healing, almost two years before they announced it, just based off the lore we have relating to trance states and constructs like Carbuncle and Gukumatz.
As a fun bonus, the bit about "similar aether leading to an appearance change" can also be extended to potentially explain why reapers can enshroud with their avatar, since the avatar itself is a primarily aetheric being who's using the reaper as a steady source of aether. essentially the same concept, just instead of a primal or a construct, it's a voidsent.

2024.05.16 16:07 Katheine_T_Hoppe We Americans don't care if you don't like the term "American." This is why...

Hi. We Americans don't care if you don't like the term "American." Even before we became a unified country (democratic republic) of states, the U.S.A. was called America.
"North America" and "South America" are continents and, "Central America" is classified as a region, but "America" ONLY refers to the country, the United States of America.
Sorry if this is hard for you to follow. Sometimes, words are similar but have different meanings.
And I'm sorry if you think citizens of the United States of America should stop calling themselves "Americans" because you erroneously thought the word "America" referred to the word "North America."
Just because words sound similar doesn't mean they have the same meaning.
I know, it's a mind-blowing revelation. 🤯
So, when Americans call themselves American, it doesn't mean we think we're superior to everyone else on the continents of North, Central, or South America.
It simply means we're citizens of the United States of America—the country commonly and historically known as America.
But what you did is you leaped forward in your exalted intelligence and healthy self-esteem and made the malformed connection that when Americans call themselves American, it must mean Americans think they are better than everyone in "North America," "Central America," and "South America."
You were flat-out wrong.
The area known as the United States of America has always been called "America" in "North America." Get it? Just like Canada is known as "Canada" in "North America."
If you want to get your head spinning try to make sense of Georgia, the state in America, and Georgia, the country in Europe.
Flip, flip, flip... rage! Haters gonna hate, but please first try to understand basic semantics.
This post was written in my frustration and bewilderment after experiencing another wokian expressing their smug rage and contempt at Americans for calling themselves "American."

We're still in early access, and the surface remains unfinished, ending at boss 2 for now. This is not a post about the final boss, because that could go in just about any direction. I wanted to discuss Boss 3, which I think could be very interesting in terms of the story.
The third boss is something of a gatekeeper towards the end of a run. Once you beat them, you're at the home stretch. So thematically, they tend to hold a bit of importance. In Hades I, we're up against Theseus and Asterius, the champions of Elysium, who are essentially in the highest echelon of the underworld. These two are two of the most respected shades we meet (if their fans are anything to go by), one of whom is favoured among the Olympians the same way Zagreus is. Not only that, they are the last undead we fight before reaching Styx, marking what is IMO the first step into the surface. After them, Zagreus is up against living creatures, barring certain enemies in the [redacted] fight.
The rest of the post is spoiler-ridden, so stop here if you don't want to read Hades II spoilers.
TL;DR - I think the third boss for the surface is Pasiphae or Heracles.
The bosses in Hades II follows a similar theme. Cerberus is the last true guardian of Hades' Underworld. The previous biomes' enemies have some level of loyalty to Chronos to fight Melinoe, but the other bosses themselves are either an outright enemy of Chronos (Hecate), or remain a little ambiguous/just being haters. Past the Fields of Mourning, we start to encounter the ones closest to Chronos. Boss 3 is the final Underworld denizen we face who has no loyalty to Chronos, representing Melinoe's journey from dangerous territory into straight-up enemy lines. Looking towards the surface, I think there's an overarching theme going on that could clue into the third boss in the run.
I think the thread that connects them is a loss of respect in the Olympians.
We have Polyphemus, who for the most part is just a shepherd in Ephyra who generally keeps to himself. We know that since he chooses not to fight Heracles, despite knowing that he's around in Ephyra and on the gods' side. He mentioned himself that he mostly eats sheep, and fights Melinoe simply because he thought she was an aggressor trying to steal stuff from his house, which was what Odysseus did before blinding him. Melinoe also mentions that he was bought off by Chronos, so ultimately his loyalty to the guy boils down to the gold and/or food he gets. The rise of Chronos doesn't matter to him, the guy just wants to be left alone with his sheep (correct me if I'm wrong here, I can't remember all his dialogue off the top of my head).
The next boss is Eris, who has made it adamantly clear that she is not on Chronos' side, but wants the freedom that would come from the Golden Age. She feels restricted under the rule of the Olympians, and wants to stop Melinoe because it's the way she can express her desire to be an individual person without teaming with the bad guys. Though she also shows a desire for others to seek their own freedom as well, asking Melinoe about her life as a weapon against Chronos and not much else outside of that.
The apprehension to Olympus extends even further with Nemesis, who questions whether mortals would be better off in the Golden Age again (which was explicitly stated to have been a better time for mortals than the present). There's a general distrust in the Olympians planted in the game, and it only seems to be growing as the story unfolds.
Which leads into the third boss.
If we follow the same "pattern" as Cerberus and the Champions, this boss should also have some sort of resentment towards the Olympians - though not enough to claim loyalty to Chronos - while fighting Melinoe right at their doorstep. I have two predictions on who/what we could be up against:
1. Pasiphae, mother of the Minotaur:
This is definitely the weaker one out of my predictions, but it has some sense to it. Pasiphae is the last big sorceress from Greek mythology that is missing from the game, since we already have Medea and Circe. Though unlike those two, Pasiphae was wrongfully punished by Poseidon to give birth to the Minotaur for something that her husband Minos did. While Minos was honoured in the afterlife as a Judge of the dead, the Olympians made Pasiphae into an embarrassment by giving birth to a monster (sorry Asterius).
With Icarus and the Daedalus hammers already prominent in the game/story, she could be woven into the game with a baked-in hatred to Melinoe for using the works of Daedalus, sending her into the Labyrinth to prevent her from helping Olympus. Is it reason enough to side with Chronos? Maybe, but if she already hates Poseidon, I doubt she would support his father.
2. Heracles:
Hear me out; this is a Heracles that has already killed his first family, done his twelve feats, died by itchy sweater to his second wife and ascended to godhood (he teleports in and out of encounters). Everything bad that has ever happened to this guy was caused by Hera and the other gods. The character is presented as broody and jaded, clearing out the undead in Ephyra under the instructions of Hera. Everything about him is menacing - he shows up hitting enemies with the same damage as Zeus and Death himself, his music is downright terrifying for a good guy, and he has a small dislike for Melinoe and other witches.
The strange part is that his role in the game is tiny right now - all he does is help clear a room to gain some gold, which leads me to believe he may have a bigger role as a boss fight. He wouldn't actively side with Chronos - Zeus did make him a god - but he has experienced the gods at their worst, and would likely support a return to the Golden Age where mortals had it better. As a god, he's sometimes depicted as the gatekeeper to Olympus, which serves this story well if Melinoe is trying to ascend the mountain. He would be the hard line between the surface and the gods, which seems very fitting for a former demigod like him.
What does everyone think? Any other guesses for who the third boss might be? I had another couple, like Ladon because of Eris' Golden Apples and the Heracles connection, but these two were the strongest contenders I could think of.

2024.05.15 20:39 NaturalBit2309 The argument: "Friendship exists" isn't just for straight couples, you know?

Warning: This Post is not a hater or criticism, I don't even know what it should be
The last time I saw that phrase was on Twitter in a Post about Pearlshipping, when I saw the comments there was someone saying that same phrase along with some things about why Ash and Dawn are just friends, but that comment got lost in the minute. that he started a headcanon about why Zoey is Dawn's girlfriend. I would just like to remember that FRIENDSHIP EXISTS for all genders, whether people with different genders or the same genders. I was surprised by the number of people on Tumblr or Twitter who ignore statements of friendship or similar just to support their fantasies where Sônia and Nessa are girlfriends even though all the photos say they are best friends. I was amazed when I saw that in Serena's minimal return in Journeys, people actually started shipping her with Koharu, Lisia or May, the latter of which she didn't even have any interaction on screen and the only thing was them holding hands during Ash's fight at the World Cup and that was enough to generate a strange commotion in the bubble of this strange part of the community. I was also amazed when I discovered that Dawn's ships with either Gary or Paul were popular, even though she had minimal interactions with the former and hateful interactions with the latter on almost every occasion. This basically happens in almost every friendship in Pokemon since the beginning of the anime, but I still think I wanted to say it outright.
If I'm offending anyone, forgive me and correct me in the comments

2024.05.15 18:26 Coconuts8Mangoes Shipwars

Honestly this post likely won’t change many opinions/actions but I just want to say that we can do better. The toxicity created between Elain & Gwyn because of who might end up with Azriel is insane. It’s like some people LOVE one therefore they HATE the other?? I am surprised at how many of you can get nasty in these comments over a “war”?? Like does it really affect you that badly if your preferred ship doesn’t end up together? I totally get and am on board for healthy debates but some people take it personal and start attacking characters and other redditors.
What’s so funny to me, and I’ll probably get that hate here, but I see similarities between both girls, maybe that’s why they’re both my fav female characters from this series. Anyway, this is really a rant of how disappointed I am. Some of y’all act like teenagers and I’d bet a pretty penny a lot of you are in fact not teenagers. Bashing on these characters like it’s going to change the outcome, like damn. I get the long wait for the new book (especially after the BC) has left us craving more but I just wish we could be kinder to each other. I really wish we could have pleasant conversations when either characters are brought up. I love the fanfics, and fanarts you guys share on here, I hate how I read how some of you are afraid to share for fear of being bashed for your preference or the downvotes because of this war. I really don’t think half of you haters would ever talk this way to each other in person so quit doing it behind the screen! Both those girls are soft & loving and some of the fans give off mean & rude ass vibes. Do better.
There are LOTS of wonderful people on this subreddit who I enjoy interacting with & appreciate your respectful comments and overall positivity so thank you.
End of rant. To whoever is reading ~ I hope you have an awesome day 🫶🏼

2024.05.15 04:31 Living_Chemical_6026 Criticizing Def Noodles?! HELLO POT!!!

Very odd and ironic that Peter made a video about the downfall of Def Noodles' YouTube career, and dared to OFFER HIM ADVICE...
...because I've seen people comment on the similarities between them, and I have to agree.
I mean, obviously they are very different personalities, but the way both their channels seemed to take a turn, leading to implosion, and a hemorrhaging fan base, is very similar.
And at the heart of it all for both of them is a complete and total inability to take criticism (or even helpful suggestions), and unhinged rants about their "haters" starting to take over their usual content.

2024.05.14 21:22 dani-winks Do I *NEED* a Mac for slightly-beyond-basic video editing?

I teach flexibility classes online and a big chunk of my business is selling recorded workshops. I've sloooowly been upgrading my video production (ex. using an actual camera instead of my smartphone, and learning some basic Da Vinci Resolve), but my laptop is SO slow when I'm trying to edit in DVR (to be fair, my laptop is under the minimum specs DVR recommends: I only have an i5 processor and 8GB RAM). So anything would be an upgrade over my current setup.
Editing requirements:
All my research for "budget video editing computers" (within this sub, and on google) takes me to Macbooks (probably in my budget, but the specs don't seem very different from my current setup) or the M2 studio (probably out of my budget) again and again - but I hate the Mac experience. Any time I've had to use someone's Mac I feel completely lost and it drives me crazy. I'm sure some of that is just the learning curve of it being "different," but I'd love to not have to relearn how to completely re-use my PC.
I found this Inspiron 27 with an i7 processor, 32 GB ram and 1TB storage for ~$1600. It definitely would be a great upgrade over my current setup, but the more comments I read, the more I wonder should I just suck up my dislike of the UI and spend a bit more for a Mac? Or since I'm not doing anything terribly "serious" with my editing, is a Dell (or something similar) likely OK for my use case?
Any previous-Mac-haters-come-converts want to chime in?

2024.05.14 18:59 rqwedr My take on each DCAS conestant's finalist odds (as of EP9)

https://preview.redd.it/leqhamlomb0d1.png?width=1140&format=png&auto=webp&s=86e24fe5fe7b69b062e20b429c8b250fa1b6a342
Very Likely (99.9%) - Ally
I highly doubt that the finale will consist of only DC1 characters, and of the four DC2 characters left, two of them (Aiden, Riya) were already finalists and Yul would need an absolutely insane amount of plot armor to even reach the mid-merge, let alone finals.
Ultimately, Disventure Camp isn't Total Drama and there is a non-zero chance of a double-finalist, but I doubt that will happen based on the other ex-finalist's track records so far this season (4/6 of them have been booted before the Merge. Heck, James, the most recent winner, was the first boot).
I also think that Ally as a character will undergo major development in the imminent merge episodes, an Underdog Arc essentially, thanks to all of her close connections getting eliminated successively. I can imagine her Underdog Arc is centered around her developing more confidence in herself and her abilities and overcoming the haters. This would help mold her into true finalist material.
Likely - Alec, Gabby
I think that Alec is very likely to be a finalist given three major factors; he's been playing the best game so far asides from maybe Ashley, is the de facto main antagonist of the season, and it's possible that Odd Nation Cartoons would want each generation to be equally represented in the finals (Alec representing the DC1 Remaster) + a male finalist (there has not been a single male finalist from DC1).
Gabby, similarly to Ally, has immense potential for individual character development now that Ellie's gone and she's no longer essentially being reduced to a sidekick (she would also be representation for the BETA DC1 generation). Granted, Gabby is an insanely unpredictable individual and it's very possible she ends up not making the finale either because of being blindsided by the Villains, a game twist, or perhaps the writers trying not to essentially create Female Mal.
Potential - Ashley, Grett, Tom
If any of these individuals were in the finale, I wouldn't be too surprised at all given their current and potential future major involvement in the season's plotlines and opportunities for character development. With that being said though, I don't think any of these three being finalists is the mean outcome as of EP9 (though Grett has higher chances than either Ashley or Tom, both of whom are major physical threats who will be targeted the moment the teams merge).
Unlikely - Jake
I have seen alot of recent discourse on this forum that Jake will not only be a finalist, but that he'll be the winner of DCAS. I disagree because, for all intents and purposes, he's already a winner in all but name. As Miriam's grandson-figure, Jake has been a direct beneficiary of her $1,000,000, being able to move out of his parents' house thanks to it, travel, etc (and if the Miriam's death rumors end up being true, God forbid, then Jake is probably inheriting the remainder of the cash).
Jake's large amounts of focus in the pre-merge also make me doubtful that he'll ultimatley be a finalist. He gives off major Gabby vibes (she was the de facto protagonist in the pre-merge of remastered DC1, only to end up being the merge boot), plus he already had large focus in that season.
In addition to all of those above points, Jake also has plenty of potential enemies (the Villains, Aiden, and potentially Ally the second Ashley gets the boot). He isn’t lasting long unless he pulls a Hunter and wins every single immunity until the final four.
Very Unlikely - Aiden, Riya, Yul
Aiden and Riya were already finalists last season, and although as mentioned earlier DC isn’t TD, judging by the track records of the other finalists in this show, they’re surely destined for failure barring something insane.
Yul is imo even *less* likely than Aiden or Riya because in addition to him being near-universally hated among the cast (including within his own alliance), his relationship with the one person who actually likes him (Grett) is starting to tear apart at the seams and it’s very likely that gets him eliminated next episode barring another joint elimination or some other twist.

has this lady come up on anyone fyp too? long story short she’s a nurse who got in trouble at her job for filming. she went to another job and not even a month in she got reported for filming again. the solution would be to stop filming yourself at work?? which she’s done but now she’s posting that her “haters” are reporting her and that she knows who it is. i hate to break it to her but she probably doesn’t. i had a similar ish situation happen to me, and i was was 100% sure i knew who the person who got me in trouble was. NOPE. it’s never who you think it is. her posting on tiktok about this and calling people out who probably aren’t even doing anything is going to make it so much worse. it’s crazy to me that this is a grown adult with children and this is how she’s acting. i’m posting this on my throwaway because i know if she sees this she will definitely make a post about.

2024.05.14 01:26 Bails147 Some counterpoints for Kenzie for fun since shes everyones consensus pick

I would like to preface this with the fact that i DO think Kenzie is winning. Before yall come for me! Bc i realise any opinion thats not backing up Kenzie winning or supports anyone else winning is “bad edgic” according to yall. But anyways
I wanna explore more of Kenzies flaws and red flags! Just because we only see constant posts about how she is obviously the winner etc etc.
More OTT mean girl vibes than Dee imo in the premerge with Bhanu Jess and Jelinsky. Sloppy obvious social game seen by Q and Tiff (showcased in a neg light by the edit as they highlight them all seeing thru her and it makes her a target). Also even Bhanu sorta gives low-key NSPV - but Bhanu is all over the place i get it. And he does crown her the mermaid dragon of the season.
What are yall talking about? Montage with dodo music and clowns her (literally not needed to be included at all. The edit goes out of its way to dunk on her)
“One of you cant win, you will not get the votes at the end” in jeffs speech. When he says these words it pans on to kenzie. I saw someone spin this as to alluding to her winning.. but like if u watch that scene IMO its actually showing why kenzie wont win and get votes at the end and will lose to a siga member. As siga gets pans of gelling. If she wins i think this was more of a throw us off the scent thing rather than tryin to hint she WINS.
Yanu and their consistant theme of being Losers + tiffany in ep 2. “We are LOSERS” with an immediate pan to kenzie struggle to make a fire
Kenzie saying she needs to blindside tiff for her resume - then NOT getting to do that and losing credit.
Kenzie saying she wants Q out and hes still there
Kenzie saying Venus is my new number 1 and that the boys (ben and charlie) dont wanna boot Q bc they may become bigger targets, but she doesnt wanna boot venus bc thatd apply to her- then proceeds to boot Venus despite the edit suggesting shed vote Q.
Kenzie talking about how Charlie is Marias jester and underestimating him (whilst the edit explicitly backs up and tells us that Charlie is NOT marias jester, in fact the edit highlights all season how if anything Charlie is equals or making the decisions, and also the edit props up charlie and goes out of its way to highlights how he isnt her jester and that he is intentional in his gameplay and wants maria to get sole credit so shes a target etc etc. ). Whether thats good or bad for charlie is another story, but its still not great for Kenzie to be shown to be so wrong on her read of charlies game and its a theme she has in multiple different eps. She is plain wrong and the edit doesnt hide that fact. In fact it has her being wrong directly after we see scenes contradicting her statements. So the viewer is thinking shes getting played.
Kenzie getting DODO music whilst talking about how poor Venus is at idol searching (a scene coming directly after V finds the idol and says shes pretending to look- therefore highlighting her fooling/outplaying Kenzie) - people say kenzie is redeemed by saying “i guess she may have already found the idol and is bamboozling us all”. - but she contradicts that save immediately by saying “but i think shes just waiting for someone whos close to her to find it”. So she is definitely being bamboozled.
Kenzie also doesnt really have her relationships with Hunter established we are just told shes apparently his number 1 last minute.
The big 6 alliance- we hear kenzie find out about it from Q (she doesnt comment on it) she says “yeh i heard about the 6” implying she found out already about it, yet we still got no mention on the 6 and how she felt about it and being left out, if she was concerned or not about it, etc etc… Charlie we did hear talk about it and accurately immediately call it out for what it was. And yes he was sorta being inducted but it was clearly over by the time that happened really.
Kenzie has no backstory package, not even 1 single outside of the game photo (shes the ONLY player left (in thef10 even) not to and this is despite having had chances already to put it in too) - the emotional blue eye scene, her opening confessional , any time she mentioned her career, her ben panic attack scene. - Charlie and Q had photos. Liz maria and Ben all had full on backstorys. -
When compared to other woman winners - shes insanely overexposed in the edit.
When u look at her game- she actually hasnt gotten THAT much better of a resume or game than Ben or Liz. Its worse than Q Charlie and Maria on paper (outside of pure social) And shes missed the chance for a big move and instead lost numbers in 3 consecutive tribals. Kenzie herself has stated that you need to make a big move - which she keeps failing to do alike jake owen. She wanted Q but begrudgingly accepted Hunter vote, she wanted Q but got blindsided and it was Tiff, she wanted Maria-> then Q but begrudgingly voted Venus. All 3 were numbers that were loyal to her, and she didnt really want out but got them out, having no agency 3 straight votes. And wasnt in the 6 which was the main storyline for the early merge votes.
She has a eerily similar to Jake Owen and Carolyn edit when u really think about it - who all got underdog themes.
also Kenzie is plain wrong a lot… i just rewatched ep 3 and found yet another time shes straight up wrong.. when Bhanu gets back to camp after the journey, he lies to Yanu and says “i chose the white rock” - this is then immediately followed by a confessional of Kenzie falling for his lie saying “of course in typical yanu fashion he gets nothing (correct ik) which works for us because we didnt want him to have anything, he drew the white rock (false, kenzie has fallen for the lie) he doesnt have anything, great for the plan but it is also just hilarious that once again yanu loses another thing (okay sorta correct) and gives something else to the other tribes (false and wrong again). This is yet another really small thing but damn these sorts of wrong things are really adding up. Why gove kenzie that confessional? Contrast that with Tiff basically saying the more on point thing of “the real tea is what did he give up, bc i know damn sure he was over there spilling the tea” and she doesnt have anything falling for his Lie, And then Q doesn't comment on it in confessional, but has a scene where he questions Bhanu if he got the white rock and Bhanu reveals no he didnt and indeed he lost his vote. It again put right after we show bhanu not getting the white rock and the other tribes not getting anything - so even though logically kenzie is just narrating from what she knows, and technically yanu person did lose out, shes still completely wrong about what happened and as a viewer ur inclined to think “thats not what happened” as shes talking. Just this actually has happened quite a lot.
I sound like a Kenzie hater. but end of the day i can still see all of Kenzies upside and Charlies downside and marias danger. I know that a lot of these flaws can be possibly justified or overlooked with all the good stuff - but they still are possible red flags and theres quite a few of them still.. so i think its still worth noting and keeping in mind. Since everyone is constantly pointing out the smaller red flags for a Charlie and a Maria. Just food for thought. Bc if anyone thinks kenzie could be set up for a FTC loss they get roasted on here. I personally do lean towards her winning ftc but the set up is there for both.
I think she takes out Q at least bc the setup for both her (threat mermaid dragon etc) and Charlie (i need to get Q out, Q needs to go asap) has been made. Plus Maria slipped in Q for one more vote, Ben and Liz both have setup for wanting Q gone. Its gotta happen soon! But its entirely possible thats what the mermaid dragon and shes a dangerous threat story arc was leading to.. her being part of tiffany and Q going (her idea the tiff blindside, her making moves on Q). Rather than her necessarily winning.
Ill also point out for those who believe that Charlie wasnt as relevent early on and that he has a poor social game - i just rewatched ep 1-5, skipping thru the nami tribe scenes and challenges and unimportant confessionals (BHANU drama) and BOY do Charlie and Kenzie both get sooo much attention. We hear from both so much. Its kinda clear that kenzie is the main Yanu (sorry Q) and Charlie is the main siga (sorry maria and Ben). But charlie gets so many social related scenes which highlight his social bonds and has the edit backing it up with positive SPV about him from other players. Jeff always talks to charlie and the camera pans are always panning to both Charlie and Kenzie throughout the premerge. Just a little fun thing i noticed.

2024.05.13 13:13 Katheine_T_Hoppe We Americans don't care if you don't like the term "American."

2024.05.13 01:59 sgtViveron This post is an answer to Mr."EddieShredder40k" - who asked for evidenses, cause I told that CoH3 looks cheaper than previous game\games.

Before we proceed:
  1. I'm not CoH3 hater - I like playing CoH3, I had my claims because of release state. And I sincerely believe that releasing of halfbaked game is the worst sin of a developepublisher. Now can declare that game become much better after patches. I will continue playing it, I even fking left positive review during free weekend to compencate negative ones. Currently have almost 188 hours. I wish only best for devs and game.
  2. I haven't played CoH1 multilpayer (few skirmishes with BOTs and 1-2 online matches) - I met it a bit late to roll in. But I've done campain and fond it very nice.
  3. CoH2 - 3038 hours - what else should I say =)
______________________________________________________
So: "Can you post some screenshots of both games at max settings to help describe why one looks cheaper?
it's a genuinely baffling statement to me given that coh 3 is clearly technically superior, with better textures, higher poly models, more advanced lighting, post processing etc etc (as it should have)."

While I'm talking about cheapness, I don't mean textures and polygons. No jokes that CoH3 is technically superiour, it would be bloody pitty if not. Visuals are important but there are other weighty parts.
______________________________________________________
Campain.
Just check the campain 1st mission of all 3 CoH games, and say which one looks more interesting and engaiging:
CoH1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vEoauGzRILs
It gives me vibes\atmosphere of a "Save private Ryan" or "Band of Brothers" series: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S1Qj_AVu2pA
______________________________________________________
CoH2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6is27nOLADE

It is like "Enemy at the Gates": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oJ3bzg-Tvt4
______________________________________________________
And CoH3: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iusHBTPDXpE
It is very spectacular to compare with CoH1 because they have similar "coast assault" missions.

In CoH1 and CoH2 we have narrative campaign with nice cinematics presentation that drive us into mood. Videos that are made on ingame engine that makes you easier to believe in those what you see. Overall atmosphere is much better. CoH2 makes it even a bit deeper, cause we have additional conflict of "former comrades", that is shown through memories - that engage you even more: Why is he arrested? What happened? What is his fate? How do he know that guy?
In comparison CoH3 uses "moving picture placeholders", no focused camera shots. At 6:34 that guy says "models looks amazing" - yea, they are, but theatricals of that scene looks weaker than CoH1 or CoH2. It is much harder to make Italian campain that way because it uses "Total War" strategic style, which transforms it into bunch of skirmish battles.
______________________________________________________
Music.
Also I wanna attend point to sounds and music. Espesially music. It is ok in CoH3, but after this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dR0ev5adrho
And this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zLdAURdn4o4
It is like a that meme: Thi one (CoH3) is good, but I prefer that one (CoH2).
I dunno where Cris Velasco took inspiration but it freaking worked.
______________________________________________________
Animations.
I love how little details can change your imersion:
Here we have Helping Hans match:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zrLvMr2K0-Y
At 11:40 he engages and we can see how models behave, pay attention to his Rangers with M1919 LMG - they just stay-shooting ot run-shooting. No attitional animations for models.
And here we have CoH2 unit test also using M1919: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=spd4YM3k0iI

Do you see that mgs have recoil? That models strugle to hold it while shooting?
Also at 2:42 we can see woulnded soldier trying to crawl somewhere out of sandbags for help. Just nice detail. CoH3 have laying wounded models only if there is med bunker\station nearby.
Another CoH2 video with units test: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=agP6D7XYo1M
Have you notised that paratroopers with M1919 are laying on the ground while shooting? Because there is no cover where you can put it?

It looks more attractive, more solid than this, at least for me: https://medias.community.companyofheroes.com/forums/john-re/1701727912547.png
I dunno how to explain. CoH3 has its own style, but more clean, more simple. Its like difference between business and family car. They both have engine, wheels and do same job but they feels in different way. ______________________________________________________ Here should be something else I also wanted to add, but I forgot what exactly... =(
P.S. I hope I haven't messed up with links.
______________________________________________________
I'll repeat CoH 3 is a good game. IMHO, It like this cause SEGA, which owned and sponsored Relic during development, didn't believed that game will succseed and provided limited funding. Lack of which caused such "decisions of simplificense". Also, I'm pretty sure SEGAs money lack due to "HYENAS" development failure, forced game releace to get at least some money.
Anyway, I wish devs luck and will continue playing and investing some additional money into game - until devs will do some stupid greedy shit. Hope that not.

2024.05.12 13:12 interventionalhealer Trump and 9/11? A counter theory to the rise of MAGA.

For the sake of transparency, I am not the architect of the following discoveries, and am just helping to forward their message and clean it up. Copywrite of the following work belongs to no one and everyone is not only welcome to share these findings as if they were their own, but openly encouraged to do so.
Introduction
If you think you know anything about MAGA. Trust me, you know nothing. Not even his most devout followers or haters will have considered the following. And for the sake of our democracy and way of life, I hope people read this.
This work may very well help to shift the narrative on Trump in a meaningful and foundational way, but I don't want this work exacerbate any feelings of ill will to MAGA members, for they have been prey to possibly one of the largest con jobs our world has ever seen, especially without the help of this counternarrative.
Snippet From My Thesis On MAGA
As I work on tidying up the master file with the helpful dms I got, allow me to post just the most contentious part of it below, now that it’s able to stand on its own.
MAGA didn’t begin in 2015. I argue it began in 2001 on 9/11, while also harnessing and funneling decades of anti-government resentment till many Americans would openly call for a “wrecking ball” figure to help “drain the swamp.”

A Key Fueling Factor To American Outrage- Inflation
Many elements contributed to growing American anger that would later contribute to MAGA, this is a snippet from the larger work.
Rising Cost of Living
o In 1950, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) was 24.1. By 2000, it had risen to 168 (a 597% increase), and by 2023, it had reached 304.7, a 1163% increase from 1950.
o Housing prices saw a drastic rise overtime, with the median home price increasing from $7,354 in 1950 to $388,700 in 2023, a staggering 5185% increase.
o While rising rent costs can contribute to overall inflation and cost of living, even the left has largely failed to address how exponentially increasing real estate prices impact the cost of living. This omission has made many other conspiracy theories seem more plausible in its wake.
o If we don’t find real solutions for real estate that also aren’t extreme, then society will feel more and more pressure to accept “unreasonable solutions” like Trump, even though he’s the last person on earth who could solve it, considering his business acumen and history.
MAGA Dynamics and Blind Devotion
In 2016, it wasn't just the left calling the MAGA movement a cult. Trump famously said, "I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody, and I wouldn't lose any voters." Even the left failed to grasp the gravity of this statement. As someone who nearly died in a deadly cult and based on my research, I don't know of a single cult where the founder could openly commit murder without losing members. Trump didn't just believe he'd created one of the largest cults ever; he believed he'd created the most fanatical. Let's hope his followers prove him wrong by showing a willingness to criticize him, regardless of their vote.

The MAGA Question
Instead of challenging MAGA supporters on fallacious beliefs, ask them this question to see if they’re at least able to see a world where Trump isn’t a biblical King: "If Trump admitted he was behind 9/11 and used resulting insurance money and donations from hostile governments to create false “grass root” campaigns. And did it all in a way to make it seem like others committed his own atrocities. And that he intended to destroy America in every way if he got elected, would you still vote for him?"

Yet even then, getting through to a MAGA supporter inevitably refers to 9/11 “research” out there when they realize individual positions are usually fallacious. This quagmire me decide to investigate this tragedy, to see if there was a more plausible counter theory. Honestly, the more I looked the more surprised I became. Here are my findings that are but a snippet of my full thesis on MAGA.

9/11 Conspiracy Theories and MAGA
Conspiracy Theories and Credibility:
o First off, conspiracy theories should involve some effort to verify narratives, rather than just repeating claims across multiple sources that mistake themselves as evidence; like a bunch of people who repeat “bob farted” across multiple websites may see that as evidence, when in fact, it was Sean. Sorry Sean.

Early Origins of MAGA:
o Although some believe MAGA began in 2015, its roots lie as early as the 1980s with Rush Limbaugh and later became "serious" on 9/11.
o 9/11 conspiracy theories claim controlled demolitions were used, but the lack of any cellphone recordings of explosions weakens this theory.

Suspicious Factors:
o The official narrative involving chaotic jet fuel leading to a straight fall seemed questionable.
o The collapse of a third building (WTC 7), which wasn’t directly hit, fueled suspicions.
o Airline stocks were heavily shorted before the attacks, raising concerns about insider trading. Harvey Pitt, Republican SEC Chairman at the time, investigated this and claimed there was nothing amiss, but was criticized for later crimes and forced to resign.
o It’s also suspicious that in Trumps 2000 book “The America We Deserve” that he stated, “I really am convinced we’re in danger of the sort of terrorist attacks that will make the [1993] bombing of the Trade Center look like kids playing with firecrackers. No sensible analyst rejects this possibility, and plenty of them, like me, are not wondering if but when it will happen*.”*
§ Yet democrats would largely miss this point entirely and obsess over his false claim that he called for Bin Laden to be killed, when he had not. Somehow conspiracy theorists would find this ‘cool’ rather than suspicious.
CNN Fact Check Donald Trump Osama Bin Laden Book Claim

Reports and Simplified Narratives:
o FEMA's 2002 report and NIST's 2005 report provided technical explanations of the tower collapses.
o However, the Port Authority Chairman stuck to the oversimplified narrative that "jet fuel melted steel beams," even though he knew this was a half-truth, as detailed in the next section, fueling anti-government conspiracies. The question is why.

Potential Impact:
o 9/11 conspiracy theories sowed distrust in the government, which may have been one of the attackers' objectives. Anyone that heavily profited from this tragedy, and helped further those objects, should be questioned.
o The ‘Loose Change’ “documentary” pointed out suspicious parts of the story, but failed to give any clear claims as to who was purportedly behind it. It also failed to note the Twin Towers titanic design flaw that could result in a straight fall. Even the 2015 version of this film fails to mention nearly all of the known facts in this report.
o The Director of that film later states:
“I DON’T THINK WE’D HAVE PRESIDENT TRUMP IF IT WEREN’T FOR 9/11”
“9/11 created a culture of fear, of xenophobia, this sense of entitlement and everything we’ve seen. Warrantless wire-tapping, Guantanamo Bay, everything that’s happened led us to this point, we wouldn’t be here without 9/11. They want to kick out all the Mexicans and Muslims because of this culture of fear and bigotry and xenophobia that directly led to the election of fucking Donald Trump. [laughing] That’s our world now! We had Reagan before, and Governor Schwarzenegger. But President Donald Trump? It’s just weird. Everything is just weird.”
Theoutline Reflecting On Loose Change
o While the director was in the right to ask questions, he failed to ask the most obvious ones.
o However, his lead “researcher,” Jason Bermas, would turn out to be a full blown MAGA wingnut.
Patriot Jason Bermas
o Anyone that would benefit politically and financially from 9/11 should be fully investigated.

Politifact How 911 Attacks Helped Shape Modern Misinformation
It will never be possible to defeat MAGA followers “logically” with people who believed his parties rhetoric “that 9/11 was an inside job.”

I say… what if those Republican leaders were self reporting?
What if Trump followers have been rallying behind the very man responsible for its orchestration?

The Twin Towers and Larry Silverstein
Architectural Pitfalls of the Twin Towers:
· The Twin Towers had unique architectural flaws due to the excessive heavy load on their exoskeletons to allow for more floor and leasing space, which greatly contributed to their straight collapse after the 9/11 attacks. This was the first and last skyscraper made in this way.
· For anyone who said that “any other building would have fallen sideways,” you were right, though perhaps not entirely how you may have imagined. A "Coke Can" analogy shows how a similar weakened structure can result in a straight fall, contrary to conspiracy theories claiming controlled demolitions. This isn't something I'm asking you to take for granted, or to read from media sources you don’t trust. This is something you can verify on your own, in person, in real time, in reality.
· However Trump, despite being close friends with Silverstein as we’ll cover later, claimed "It wasn’t architectural defects, you know, the World Trade Center was always known as a very, very strong building” per the attached PolitiFact article.
· Supporting Article:
Engineering Experts Explain the Collapse of the Twin Towers
Politifact Donald Trumps 911 Speculation

Larry Silverstein, The Leasor Of The Twin Towers:
· Nearly went bankrupt after losing his main tenant Drexel Burnham in 1980 after he built tower 7 with him in mind.
· I don't know how many of us understand the level of desperation a situation like this can cause in someone and how many potential crimes it can easily push them towards.
· He is known for then saying, “…looking up at the twin towers and thinking, my building is huge, but it is made diminutive by the twin towers. So I said to myself, wouldn't it be incredible someday to own those?" That's not the statement of a sane person who nearly went bankrupt, and if anything, hints towards jealousy.
· He managed to secure Salomon Brothers two years later, which later paid $300 million in securities fraud penalties casting suspicion over the entities who saved Silverstein, in addition to their overall plans for the future.
· How he would become able to outbid everyone else in 2001, for the right to lease the twin towers, would become a mystery we will untangle later.

Trump and Real Estate Connections
Historical Context and Redevelopment Plans:
· A redevelopment plan commenced in the 1990s by Gov. Pataki and Mayor Giuliani, spurred a commercial revival in downtown Manhattan, making the World Trade Center prime property. Pataki would go on to criticize trump, while the other would prove to be one of this wildest, if not craziest, supporters to truly fanatical degrees.

· Tom Leppert was the CEO of Turner construction which right wing conspiracy theorists claimed helped ensure the towers would fall straight down. He also became part of Trumps transition team. While there’s no evidence of explosives being used, tampering with the exoskeleton and weaking the relatively thin central column ahead of time are theoretically plausible.
Huffpost Donald Trump Transition Team

The bidding for the World Trade Center lease involved only a few major real estate firms as allowed by the Port Authority Chairman. Below are the allowed bidders and their estimated worth at the time included:

· Donald J. Trump’s Organization:
o Worth around $1.5 billion in 1996 after multiple bankruptcies. Confirmed only by Forbes magazine in 2005.
· Tishman Speyer:
o Valued at approximately $1.8 billion in 2000, would soon face ‘tenant issues’ with many scrupulous legal claims against them.
· Gale & Wentworth:
o Worth a few million.
· Mortimer Zuckerman’s Boston Properties:
o Mortimer Zuckerman alone was worth around $2 billion.
· The Rouse Company:
o Mainly a shopping mall operator.
· Brookfield Properties:
o A Canadian firm valued at over $20 billion in 2000.
· Vornado Realty Trust:
o Worth an estimated $2-3 billion. Had the highest bid, but was unexpectedly outed by the Port Authority Chairman, paving the way for Silverstein’s win. CEO of Vornado Trust, Steven Roth would later do many deals with Trump in 2005 and beyond.
· Larry Silverstein:
o As mentioned, was nearly bankrupt in the 1980s, and was mysteriously awarded the right to lease the World Trade Center contract at $3.2 billion, twice the original asking price of 1.2 Billion. It would still be owned by the Port authority of NY and NJ, he would just own the rights to lease it.
o Port Authority Chairman, Lewis Eisenberg, made this unexplained decision, who also later became Trumps lead fundraiser in 2015.
o After putting down only $125 million, as per the contract, Silverstein would be getting back $100 million just 6 weeks after his bid and with an uncommon terrorist insurance addition. His exaggerated bid and insurance contract would also greatly inflate the amount of money he could get from an insurance claim. If the winning bid was 1.5 billion, the insurance payout would also have been much less.
o In real estate, its quite rare for a prudent investor to bid twice the asking price, as demonstrated by the other companies that backed out, of which I find no connections to Trump.
o If anyone had known about 9/11 ahead of time, like Trump claims he did, it would become drastically easier to outbid all competitors, knowing that for pennies on the dollar, you would be getting much more back.

Giuliani’s Gangster Acts
Arguably, if the above points are what they objectively appear to be, that would be a bad thing. You’d think that would be enough. However, Guliani would say “hold my beer’ to those sentiments.

1. Outdated Equipment for First Responders:
· Due to Giuliani’s inadequate leadership, first responders used old equipment that failed to warn them to evacuate the towers. Which contributed to their deaths while they searched for survivors.
NY Times Article: Giuliani’s Preparedness on 9/11
2. Obstructed Recovery Efforts:
· Giuliani delayed proper search and rescue operations for days, possibly costing lives of citizens and first responders who didn’t know they needed to leave.
· 20 Years later he would claim that some of Bidens actions were so reckless that… “It would be as if I got down to ground zero and said take out the firefighters, all you civilians see if you can get yourselves out.” Self report?
NBC News Report: Giuliani’s Role in Recovery
NY1: Giuliani Reflects on 9/11 Anniversary
3. Twin Towers Fund and Privatization:
· Giuliani privatized the Twin Towers relief funds, making them unauditable.
NY Times Article on Privatization
NY Post Article: Giuliani and Twin Towers Fund
4. Survivors Threaten To SUE Guliani For Relief Funds
· Even after privatizing the twin towers fund, Giuliani would make it incredibly difficult for the victims to receive their fair share. Requiring many of them to spend unnecessary money on advisors and consultants.
· Even with their legal pressure, he only agreed to “give the remaining 100 million to victims,” out of 170 million, if he could first put the money into the bank account of a charity in which he controlled.
· From the attached article: “But Harold Schaitberger, president of the International Association of Fire Fighters, said that he remained adamantly opposed to any transfer of funds to Mr. Giuliani's charity.
He also objected to Mr. Giuliani's continued control over even the $15 million in his private charity. Mr. Giuliani, he charged, gives every indication of using the Twin Towers Fund to maintain a staff of loyal supporters and to advance his political aspirations.
'The concern that politics will infiltrate the fund becomes even more apparent when one reviews the list of the mayor's former political appointees who are assuming senior staff positions or serving on the fund's board of directors,'' he wrote in a letter on Monday to Eliot L. Spitzer, the state attorney general.”
NY Times Article On Guliani Pressed To Disperse Twin Tower Funds
· However, there is no evidence of Giuliani making good on this promise.
· There are honestly no words for this. All associates of Guliani should be investigated.
5. Attempted Election Cancellation in 2001:
· Giuliani tried to cancel the 2001 election to stay mayor longer. He even considered removing term limits with Governor Pataki’s support. Similar to how Trump has “joked” about increasing his own term limits.
Business Insider: Giuliani and Pataki’s Attempt to Cancel Elections
Esquire Trump Joke Third Term
6. Motive
· In 2000, Guliani unfortunately got prostate cancer. We have to be willing to ask if this was a motive for his corrupt acts.
SurvivorNet: Giuliani’s Cancer

Silverstein’s Unscrupulous Greed
1. Initial Settlement Demands and Profit Claims:
· Despite only having been out for $25 million, Silverstein initially sought nearly $8 BILLION in insurance settlements and argued for "loss of revenue from those buildings," which is quite an uncompassionate claim considering how many lost their lives. Talk about a prime example of the working and lower classes making sacrifices while rich elites complain they didn’t profit enough from the same tragedy.
2. Rebuilding Contributions and Insurance Payout:
· Despite the fact that he only owned the leasing rights to the twin towers, ‘Silverstein Properties’ received up to $4 billion from insurance payouts, instead of the Port Authority, which would be customary as the owner.
· While it's assumed that most of that money went to rebuilding, this isn't actually known or proven. It would be different if he had a separate insurance policy that was not connected to the rebuilding of the towers, with different monies going to the Port Authority to rebuild. This was not the case.
History.com: Rebuilding of Ground Zero

· Early Claims and Revisions:
o Shortly after 9/11, Donald Trump claimed he saw the second plane hit the towers from his Manhattan apartment. He also made an unfounded claim that he saw thousands of Muslims in New Jersey cheering, a statement that has been widely debunked. Despite varying explanations and suggesting that he saw it on an untraceable video that was “widely covered,” these claims helped fueled significant conspiracy theories. Legacy of Suspicion:
These actions paint Trump as one of the more suspicious figures post-9/11, who may have used the tragedy for personal and political gain. His connections with figures like Larry Silverstein and Lewis Eisenberg, the Port Authority chairman, hint at deep financial interests potentially influenced by the 9/11 aftermath. Meanwhile, survivors and first responders faced challenges in securing support, highlighting the disparities between their experiences and the political maneuvers at play. Again morbidly juxtaposing the struggles of the poor and working class versus elite swamp members such as Trump and his ilk.

While being, arguably, one of the more suspicious Americans of potentially “being an insider," Trump would go on to cast doubt everywhere else with his new holier than thou rhetoric and hints and claims that “it was an inside job” for the next 15 years.

What if he was speaking from personal experience.

The Deepfake Dilemma
Now in a world where Trump's followers already discount reality, the emergence of AI-generated deepfakes threatens to further distort the truth. This technology could transform legal standards of evidence, making it easy to dismiss genuine evidence against the right as fabricated, while baseless accusations against the left might be accepted as the long-awaited proof.

The Potential Escalation of MAGA Actions
Given the willingness of MAGA supporters to storm the Capitol on January 6th, bolstered by Trump's incendiary rhetoric, the potential for escalation is alarming. The advent of fabricated images and videos could present unprecedented national security threats.

Trump's Incendiary Rhetoric on January 6th
Trump's speech on January 6th was a clear incitement, as he urged his followers to "fight like hell" to "stop the steal," despite admitting DURING THE SPEECH that there was no evidence of the massive electoral fraud he claimed. As well as his lawyers laughable court “arguments.”

This speech, coupled with his undermining of constitutional processes, underscores the risks and intentional deceit of his rhetoric. Too bad Republicans senators and our Supreme Court have either claimed he was above the law, or continue to postpone his court dates till after elections. A wild position when treason is on the table. Did that dude commit treason that claims he wants to become a dictator? I dunno, lets let him potentially get elected and then find out!

Elon Musk's Political Shift
Elon was once very much a leftist, unfortunately in more and more far left “activists” continue to attack him endlessly for not agreeing with them on their own singular issues and perspectives. To them I say congratulations, you successfully pushed the most powerful man on earth into the far right. Great job. Great job.
Elon Musk's journey from a liberal supporter to a figure embraced by the far right highlights the volatile nature of political affiliations in today's polarized environment. His actions since acquiring Twitter—such as promoting unfounded conspiracy theories and making high-profile firings—suggest a departure from his initial free speech advocacy.
Especially when considering he fired Don Lemon from his platform for an interview he found offensive. Canceling opinions you find offensive isn’t free speech, it’s literally the opposite. I’m sure many people were offended by the examples below. What about them?

The Need for a Critical Approach
Supporters of Trump should critically evaluate why he did not pardon the January 6th insurrectionists during his term, despite using them as political leverage now. This pattern of using allies until they are no longer useful is evident throughout his political and personal dealings.
What better example could there possibly be as to what trump truly thinks of his supporters, how sacrificial he sees them as part of his endless narratives, then his refusal and failure to pardon January 6th insurrectionists while still in office?
Of course, anyone “just on the grass” or outside the building should only get a day in jail at most, however people that barged inside the capital should naturally get much more.
And while trump refused to pardon those people before, he now calls them “hostages” and is using them as political bait to a truly wild degree. It's very likely he will make good on this promise to further embolden the narrative that “Democrats are trying to take you down and only I can save you.”
His supporters need to seriously ask, “Why didn’t he pardon us before?”
Also, remember when he claimed he would pay legal fees for supporters that were violent at his rallies, but then seemed to falter and change his mind. Much like how Amber Heard donated her money, “by pledging it.”
List of allies he was quick to discard or dump. And let's face it, all of these people have done more for him than the average MAGA supporter. The only person he cares about is himself.
Trump claims that Mike Pence, the man he vetted more than anyone else, “has gone to the dark side.”
Trump seems to have supported the chants to “Hang Mike Pense,” at least in jest? We hope? There are also no links of him condemning them. Yet admittedly this one point doesn’t have hard evidence like a recording or video as far as I know, it certainly fits his brand.
Mike Flynn, a Trump appointee, later testifies against him.
Trump admits Flynn lied on his behalf, accidentally testifying against him, but does pardon him. As long as you’re colluding with Russia you’re ok it seems?

The Future Under Trump's Influence
Trump's rhetoric about overriding constitutional norms to address what he calls "massive fraud" hints at authoritarian aspirations. His praise for dictators and divisive language further aligns with dangerous historical precedents.

Stated he intended to be a Dictator on day one, but then promises it will be just for a day. Is that how that works? Or is it “Once you go Dictator you don’t go back?”
Praising dictators, referring to immigrants as vermin etc, akin to Hitlers rhetoric against “blood mixing.”
More fraudulent use of lawyers and courts that gets everyone else in trouble but him, with them arguing he's above the law. This further shows how much he will consistently use people for his own ends and then dump them when they're no longer of use.

Predicting MAGA 2024 And Beyond
Naturally there are endless possibilities of what MAGA and dictators around the world decide to do this year and into the future. I believe that the one thing that insinuates when it's time for their next evil actions is dictated by their standings in the polls or when a fellow dictator needs a little more political pressure from war torn inflated oil prices etc.
Dictators Unite
While writing my thesis, I speculated that dictators globally were uniting, finding mutual benefits in their governance and deceitful tactics. This theory is increasingly recognized as these autocrats appear to be forming a coalition, undermining peaceful unity efforts through conspiracy theories to preserve their power.
Unherd How Autocrats Unite
The True Nature of MAGA
MAGA was never genuinely about speaking truth to power or restoring America's glory. It has been an elaborate scheme funded by immense wealth, perpetuating anti-American sentiments through fabricated grassroots movements by domestic and foreign actors. This movement has primarily enriched a select few power-hungry dictators and may have been responsible for some of our most horrific moments in history in the past and acts yet to come.
Trump and MAGA
While 'MAGA' predates Trump, he conveniently stepped into a role long in the making. Despite occasional deviations from the MAGA ideology, such as promoting vaccines to emphatic boos, Trump has largely embodied its principles. The real architects of MAGA, however, are likely disillusioned with his unpredictable attacks, which contradict their broader agenda of absolute power.

2024.05.12 13:11 interventionalhealer Trump and 9/11? A counter theory to the rise of MAGA.

u/neodestiny and friends.
This work may very well help to shift the narrative on Trump in a meaningful and foundational way, but I don't want this work exacerbate any feelings of ill will to MAGA members, for they have been prey to possibly one of the largest con jobs our world has ever seen, especially without the help of this counternarrative.

2. Obstructed Recovery Efforts:
· Giuliani delayed proper search and rescue operations for days, possibly costing lives of citizens and first responders who didn’t know they needed to leave.

· In 2000, Guliani unfortunately got prostate cancer. We have to be willing to ask if this was a motive for his corrupt acts.

· He additionally refused to return the rights of Building 1 to the Port Authority until he secured additional funds from an $8 billion state fund. Talk about heartless.
Wikipedia: Larry Silverstein
· Various entities would contribute a total of $20 billion to rebuild all six damaged or destroyed towers, including four towers leased by Silverstein and two others he hadn't. This makes it unlikely that he had to go out of pocket with his 4 Billion.
3. Estimated Net Worth:
· While earlier records of Silverstein's net worth are unavailable, aside from his near bankruptcy in 1980, he is currently estimated to be worth around $1 billion.

Trump as a Martyr
Regardless of election outcomes, Trump is poised to claim interference. His rhetoric and the devout belief of his followers in his divine anointment could lead to his martyrdom, especially given his age and the vulnerabilities it brings. This martyrdom could solidify his legacy while serving the interests of MAGA strategists who find him increasingly burdensome even if he “wins.”

u/neodestiny and friends.

6. Motive
· In 2000, Guliani unfortunately got prostate cancer. We have to be willing to ask if this was a motive for his corrupt acts.

· He additionally refused to return the rights of Building 1 to the Port Authority until he secured additional funds from an $8 billion state fund. Talk about heartless.
Wikipedia: Larry Silverstein
· Various entities would contribute a total of $20 billion to rebuild all six damaged or destroyed towers, including four towers leased by Silverstein and two others he hadn't. This makes it unlikely that he had to go out of pocket with his 4 Billion.
3. Estimated Net Worth:
· While earlier records of Silverstein's net worth are unavailable, aside from his near bankruptcy in 1980, he is currently estimated to be worth around $1 billion.

o Shortly after 9/11, Donald Trump claimed he saw the second plane hit the towers from his Manhattan apartment. He also made an unfounded claim that he saw thousands of Muslims in New Jersey cheering, a statement that has been widely debunked.
