2024.06.02 10:32 Admirable_West3314 Is the era of dance challenge collabs ending?

I've noticed that compared to last year, there have been little to no dance challenges between groups to promote their singles like there were before. Most groups are just sticking to doing the challenges with their own choreographers or the MCs of the show (eg jaehyun, sohee, hanbin from mcountown).
aespa, newjeans, lesserafim and ive for example did way more challenges for their singles last year in comparison to now where I barely recall any, Karina, Chaewon and Yujin even met up last year outside of music shows to dance to drama, perfect night and baddie with e/o. Lesserafim especially used to do a huge amount of dance challenges to promote their songs (they did the most with eve, psyche and the bluebeard's wife) but they only did a handful for easy/smart.

2024.06.02 10:31 DSECON How would you expect a data scientist to approach you to get non-mainstream software installed

Hi,
I am a data scientist.
In my experience, at large organisations it can be difficult to gain access to the full range of software that I would ideally like to have installed on my work machine (i.e., to match what I would install on my personal machine at home).
I presume this challenge stems from the potential danger that malicious software will eventually be installed by a data scientist, that could do damage to the organisation.
Often, the software I want to install is open-source and developed not necessarily by a large corporation, but by computer enthusiasts (for example, specific Python extensions). It is therefore difficult to evaluate the risks of these particular software.
I would be grateful to hear the perspective of some Computer System Administrators, regarding how data scientists such as myself should approach you regarding getting access to additional software.
My goal really is to gain access to the same tools that I would have at home on my own machine.

2024.06.02 10:26 MVONICA Who Killed Gavilar?

The slow reveal of more details on what happed on the night of Gavilar's death has been a very interesting part of Stormlight for me. And on the surface, it seems that we finally have the full story here, with the prologue to WaT. By coincidence, Szeth was in Kolinar. Coincidentally, Nail bumps into Ulim, who takes him to Venli, who accidentally convinces him that Gavilar should die. Gavilar also accidentally convinces Eshonai to kill him, and thanks to all those previous coincidences, she now has Szeth ready to do the job.
It's just that this is way too many coincidences. Like, someone has been messing with the Teris prophecies levels of coincidence. I feel like I've read enough Sanderson to see foreshadowing when it's in front of me.
In terms of motivation, I think that Odium, the Stormfather, and Thadakar are all off the list. Up until everything was already in motion, they all had an interest in keeping Gavilar alive. Szeth, Nail, Ulim, Venli, and Eshonai all seem to be pawns in this scenario, moved perfectly into place to complete the goal. It could be some random person we haven't seen yet, but that isn't all that satisfying.
In terms of major players, all I think that we have left is Cultivation and Navani. I suppose this could be some master plan on Cultivation's part, but my interpretation was that all that she has been doing is planting seeds, in the hopes that things will turn out just right, so that they might sprout. And secretly planning an assassination seems a little too direct for her, but I guess we don't really know all that much about her in the first place. We've also already seen things from Navani's perspective.
My best guess is this: Navani accidentally orchestrated the death through the use of her glyphward. While it seems like a leap in logic, I'll explain why I think it's possible that this could be the case.
To start, I'll just point out that there are many things about the Rosharan invested arts we don't know. Surgebinding has been pretty fleshed out at this point, but with many holes still there. Voidbinding is very foggy. The best we have is that the unmade all have unique properties granted by odium, and that fused can mimic surges, but those are altered in some unknown way. And the old magic is as clear as mud.
So, with all those blind spots, it is entirely possible that glyphwards could fit in their somehow. If I had to guess, they would probably be connected to Cultivation in some way, going off of how little we know so little about her power, and the fact that people don't consider glyphwards evil. And compared to other forms of invested arts, the idea that glyphwards could actually produce an effect isn't that silly. Symbolic representation works just fine on Sel, and there are many arts that only very specific people can properly perform. Like with Elantrians and Yoki-Hijo. A practitioner could even live their life without ever realizing their potential.
For Navani, we have repeatedly seen her burning glyphwards in situations where her desires seem to miraculously manifest. Galinar's death, Dalinar's survival, Adolin's victory, and the recovery of Urithiru. Granted, she probably also burned some for Elokhar, but you can't expect things to work out every single time. There is an easy explanation for all this. Navani burns a lot of glyphwards, so some times they work out. But this is a book series. If Brandon takes pages at every major miraculous victory to show Navani burning glyphwards, there is probably some greater meaning behind it.
In terms of Navani's glyphwards somehow working to ensure victory, the only event that stands out to me as needing such an explanation is Gavilar's death. That event was set in motion right after the ward was burned, and was dependent on too much coincidence to have happened without some sort of outside intervention. Everything else could be explained in some form or another. We had an entire book building up to Dalinar's survival. Adolin's victory wad dependant on skill and Kaladin's oath to protect the Kholin family. Navani herself made plenty of preparations to ensure her success in recovering Urithiru.
There is another reason why I suspect that glyphwards have a hidden power to them. Throughout the series, there has been a repeating pattern of reveals. An element of Alethi or Rosharan culture is shown, and then we see that this element is actually part of some greater hidden mechanism in the world's history. Lighteyes are seen to be above darkeyes. The Shin see walking on stone as profane. The thrill is a unique Alethi advantage. Any sort of prediction of the future is seen as evil. The declaration of victory by the heralds at Aharietiam. The existence of Damnation in the Vorin religion. The existence of the Tranqualine Halls. The betrayal of the radiants.
All of these have been pretty much present from the start, and the story could be seen as the slow process of taking what seems to have at first been nothing but some interesting cultural flavor, and revealing it to have actually been an integral part of the world. Glyphwards fit in perfectly with the above examples. A very widespread element of culture that seems like nothing more than an innocent background detail. I can't help but feel that we are due for some sort of big reveal on the origins of the practice, whether or not they prove to actually have some magic to them.
I guess Stormwardrns have their own secret practices, so someone could argue that glyphwards are no more likely to be magical than Stormwarden numerology. All I can really say there is the glyphwards are more ancient, and I personally felt that Brandon was just taking some little jabs at these crazy cultists trying to predict the future off firepit ashes.
Anyway, that's about what I have to say. I'm interested to hear what other people think about all this. If we've already seen all there is of Gavilar's death, or if there is something deeper going on there. What that secret might be. If there is some secret going on with glyphwards, and if there is any magic connected to them.

2024.06.02 10:22 Adventurous-Neck1326 Some healthy perspective on "Average"

Guys, we are in a situation where there are people Above us and Below us, in terms of height, I assume you guys are all around the 5'11" mark. In other words we are not too short nor are we too tall, I am round about average in every single category. Average height, Average penis size etc. Etc. None of which I an obsessing over or lamenting.
Think about it like this, how we feel about those apparently below us, and how possessive we are over our situation in the middle that will be reflected into how we feel about those apparently above us. In otherwords if you consider people below us Inferior, you will consider those above you Superior, if you have Disgust/hatred for those below, it follows you will have even Envy/lust for those above. After all you have made it clear that what's below you, you dislike, so what's above you must then be what you like.
I'm here to tell you that all this shit is an unnecessary crock of shit, every person is unique, and if you want to stop feeling down about not being "superior," the way to check that is to correct your relationship with those who are apparently inferior. We have because of culture, society and social media taken on this unhealthy measurement system, where worth is directly equivalent to measurement. Also our society perpetuates an unhealthy way of looking even towards those below us, pity being a common and applauded sentiment, in otherworda not respecting the equality between you and another person (the person who we are supposed to pity).
The proportion of the body, and appearances shouldn't be what we are looking outwards too.
By the way I have a theory, as Men we naturally may have the view that women are inferior, even unconsciously so the way we feel about women and treat them, would reflect the same view to those above us. In other words, don't get possessive over women, don't think you can control those below you, let's just do our thing and not get caught up in opposites. Also this advice and theory I have provided is also workable for women, since everyone has the same duty if they wish to he free from meaningless/purposeless envy and needless comparisons with others.
As we are the mean we are in a favourable position we can be concealed in a crowd and go unnoticed, so we can go about life in a more unobstructed way. However culture and society especially by the internet these days is now "demonising" the average, however let's not let it affect us. Because in reality how many people have insulted us and say you're so damn "average" noone really unless you meet some people who think they're superior on an egotrip, (they themselves proving that they are susceptible to the same shit are infact not superior by any means at all!) Infact if the true mark of superiority in a person is how far they can understand this way of uniquely comprehending oneself, not giving into measuring oneself against others, even if they were "tall, etc. Etc." Then they would be the inferiors, essentially in this way we are all on a level playing field independent of bodily characteristics and the greatness of each one of us depends on the same virtue. If the goal is to be free from envy, then even if we had dwarfism if we were free from envy it would be just the same accomplishment as a person who had gigantism who was also free from envy. The saying "there's always a bigger fish in the pond," applies here to people who want to insist on maintaining their unhealthy standards.
TLDR The remedy to any ill feeling about being "average" is to drop the hierarchical view of people, not just those above us but those below us, if we accept an inferior we support a superior. If we see nothing as inferior, the superior naturally loses its base and the opposition's and hierarchy crumble. We must first of all get over our possessiveness of ourselves and controlling attitude towards those below us, so that we think oh look at that guy he's a manlet "thank God I'm taller," this will just increase the opposite view when around the ones who are above us. It means if we want to destroy envy, we must never pity those people we perceive as below us in one instance, pity implies a lack of respect for the person since you consider them unequal to yourself (based on the unhealthy metric of distinguishing). This theory applies to even other fields, if you are fool of pity for the poor for example, you are almost always going to have some sort of envy/exaggerated feeling towards the rich, it's unbalanced to give into such feelings. We try to focus on ourselves and not other people, as I said before "Let's do our thing," and not restrict ourselves by measurement and distinguishing. This reminds me of a quote from Alesiter Crowley:
Thou hast no right but to do thy will... For pure will, unassuaged of purpose, delivered from the lust of result, is every way perfect.
Crowley goes on to say The word of sin is restriction
Every man and woman is a star
What this means is Sin is in our own limiting of ourself by measurements, standards, comparisons, distinguishing, making one thing be superior and another inferior, and not looking at all things as uniquely distinct and incomparable one to the other.
Every number is infinite
If a woman gives shit to you over these things, don't let your mental get compromised consider it a shit test, my advice is to not get too attatched, don't make being a controlfreak around women your game. However have some dignity aswell if the woman somehow tries to support this idea of inferiors/superiors, you can just take it as a projection of her own self-hatred (since I'm sure she is as a woman whether she likes it or not is the so-called inferior), just make it clear to her you don't care, if she abuses your trust and cheats on you or something, don't think that the reason she cheated on you was your own fault. It was just her own assumptions driving her, sit back and tell her you're going seperate ways, with no hurt over not being able to control her and keep her under your thumb. Worst case scenario you fail the shit tests and end up getting passively taken advantage of and used as a doormat by the immature woman who after testing you knows you're vulnerable, and uses you to fulfill her own ambitions.
It's that simple bros. Good luck to all the average people here. Being average is no cure it's actually an advantage, do some research into the golden mean. We are pretty much the average of the masses, that we are this way shows our own stability (of course this is not scientific now since there's no empirical objective proof we chose the bodies we have some people claim to have knowledge about such things though). Stay true to that stability and don't buy into the culture of hierarchy, alpha vs. Beta etc. We are unique and not objects, reducible to our physical characteristics.

2024.06.02 09:55 Independent-Cable771 How do I appreciate the present with also working towards my goals?

I always struggle with how to live in the present but also still work towards my goals.
I have a goal to move to New York because I have been wanting to for a long time. Ive throughly thought this through and all though I love my friends and family and a lot of factors of where I live, I feel utterly connected to moving to New York.
Even though what I have as of now is pretty good, I feel this connection and feeling that this is where I’m meant to be. Even though moving there will mean being away from everything and everyone I’ve known and love
I’m so confused on how to work on actively manifesting this reality in the future but also appreciating everything I have right now. Because I know very well so when I do move I will look back and miss everything I had right now, I’ll miss my bed, my mom’s home cooked meals, my friends being 10 minutes away… but for some reason I can’t fully appreciate it now. I think I’m also scared of the fact that if I work so much about being present and being thankful I might not even want to move to New York anymore? I don’t know why I feel this way. And I’m really confused on what to do.
In general how do I be present without obsessing about what is to come? because I always feel like, for example in this case. The more I think about New York the more I think about things I hate where I am

2024.06.02 09:55 Stupidladysadlady How can I help my husband with depression and not be so offensive while he is?

Hi people, first I thank everyone who read this all <3 I know it’s long but still like 1% of all. I need advice how to make my husband want to comunicate with me. We’re often arguing, bcz I’m slow and not skilled like him and not very clever, he has way better decision making etc. He taught me many things my parents didn’t. In some ways he was my parent more like my real parents, if you know what I mean. I know that I’m like this and now it’s way better when I realized it. But some things I can’t change even if I try. But we’re together since our 14years (now 12years, 1 married) so he knew me for long time before. Last argue he said that we should do some things separately, like go to gym etc, bcz I slow him and he don’t know how to live slow. There were many things, I can write whole book about this, but this is main problem - my stupidity and clumsiness. I drop things every day more than once. I’m learning to drive many months and I’m not very good after months (I have license, but didn’t drive bcz my fatherdidn’t want to teach me) and this os what made the whole thing worse and every drive ended in yelling and me making mistakes. We end yelling at each other and than we talk after hours in silence like nothing happened everytime. I thought that he was wrong, he thought I was wrong, but we love each other so we talked and many times I was apologizing. And than it is one big vicious circle. Because in 99% of cases he is in rush to spend more free time together. And he feels that I don’t give a ** about our time, but many times it is that I don’t realize my slowness, it’s not disinterest. We were always only me and him, families didn’t want us to be together. We couldn’t watch movie together bcz we could see each other only outside. Everytime we did all things together. And now (or it was always but I was blind, idk….) it’s more important where he is (or circumstances) than with who he is.
I give you example: Yesterday was our first wedding anniversary, we were in town and on the way home we went to buy food. He took one box of meat, I asked why only one (I wanted to do more food so that it would be ready for work the next day, as sometimes I am criticized for not caring enough) and he said that I should rather do more than speak. So I went back for the second one, he for something else, in the meantime he sent me to the cashier. We missed the bus by about 20-30 seconds, which I think would have happened anyway, since there were many people at the cashier. We arrived home about 20 minutes later than with 1. bus. Of course, he was nervous right away. We had a plan to go to the woods with the dog and then play a game at home. But the day ended for him because I slowed things, he is looking forward to when he will be at work and basically we had a fight and we haven't even talked since. In this case, it seems completely exaggerated to me. We could watch something on my mobile during that time, I had headphones, so we could also listen to something and have fun on the anniversary...he does mind a few extra minutes, but he doesn't mind hours and days of arguments and silence.
When I tell him my feelings, he’s like he doesn’t care because I don’t care. I begged him many times, that we should talk and not yell. So he talks but the same words that are killing me. And I want him to realize that it’s not all ONLY my fault. He sometimes make mistakes like everyone, but I’m not like this, I rather look for another solution and don’t make argument from this. But many times he didn’t do things he say, for example shopping, wash dish, do laundry (last time was my mistake I didn’t remind him while I was at work) etc…it was not important for him, but for me it was. Or he does things but than I listen for a week what he did. I don’t have cleanest home, bcz I rather spend time in other ways, but basics I try to do every day.
Many times after arguments he told me that he had depression or anxiety, because he want to be nice to me. But he says he don’t want to yell at me and than after few hours/days it’s the same. So he don’t want or want? In basic life he’s the best and cutest person I know.
He told me last argument, that he don’t know how to live different and that his father was rushing his mooooore than me. In past he wanted from me to slow him. And it’s my mistake I didn’t put more emphasis in it. But it’s rare that he do what I say, so I’m a bit used to not tell things. Now I realize, it can be result of me not keeping my word many times, bcz I thought that I can change myself, but some things I can’t or don’t know how yet. And I’m not very confident person and he’s like alfa, so I often think it’s pointless to say something, but I feel I need to change it.
I want to help him not to be so anxious and angry. And not in such rush. I want us to know how to enjoy life not only live. How can I start? He’s ignoring me completely.
tl;dr We are blaming each other for our mistakes, he’s angry because I’m not very smart and clumsy, so I slow him in life. But paradox is, that he’s in rush for spend time together, but than he don’t talk to me for hours. I think some things he’s blaming me for he should just accept like I accepted many his imperfections and accepted many similar situations. And need advice how to enjoy our life not only survive and make him talk to me.

Over the past few weeks, I've been using the Wayne Water Systems WSB1275 battery in my basement sump pump. This maintenance-free, sealed lead-acid battery pack has made my life easier and more worry-free, thanks to its 75Ah capacity and 12V voltage. With its handles making it easy to move around, I am now free from the hassle of constantly monitoring and maintaining the battery levels.
One of the most impressive features of this battery is the consistent power supply it provides, ensuring that my backup sump pump remains ready to kick in at a moment's notice. This reliable performance has given me peace of mind, especially during the recent storms that have brought about power outages in my area. The battery also charges quickly, so I'm always prepared for any situation.
However, there is one drawback I've encountered. While the battery works reliably, the instructions provided for installation are quite complicated and could have been simplified. Additionally, I did notice that the battery's capacity can sometimes be slightly less than advertised, which might require an adjustment in your expectations.
In summary, the Wayne Water Systems WSB1275 battery offers a top-quality, reliable solution for my basement sump pump needs. With its impressive charging capabilities and consistent power supply, I highly recommend this product for anyone looking for a reliable and easy-to-use battery pack for their sump pump system.

I recently tried the Thunderbolt Magnum 12V 160 CCA AGM Battery, and I must say, it has some impressive features. What stood out to me is the rugged design and the versatile top-mounted terminals that make it a suitable choice for various generators, including those made by Predator.
While using this battery, I found it to be quite efficient in providing constant voltage input, which is crucial for an electric start generator. It successfully powered both my generator and an ATV without any issues. The battery's compact size made it convenient to install and mount on the generator.
However, one downside I encountered was the reversed polarity terminals. It took me a bit of time to figure out the issue during installation. Additionally, some customers mentioned facing difficulty in finding replacements for this battery, as most other units do not fit the same specifications.
Overall, the Thunderbolt Magnum 12V 160 CCA AGM Battery has proven to be a reliable and functional option for powering electric start generators. But be aware of the possible reversed polarity terminals and the difficulty in finding compatible replacements.

Imagine a situation where you're stuck on the side of the road, and your car isn't starting. You pull out a small device, no bigger than a pencil box, and within minutes, your car roars to life. That's the magic of a portable jump starter.
The Mighty Max Battery 12V 22Ah is a versatile device that serves as a replacement for your Die Hard Portable Jump Starter. It's a maintenance-free 12V 22AH Sealed Lead Acid battery, known for its spill-proof nature and high discharge rate. This battery is designed to handle a wide range of temperatures, making it suitable for use in both high and low temperatures.
One of the most impressive things about this battery is its ability to resist shocks and vibration. It can be mounted in any position, making it a convenient option for those who are always on the move. And let's not forget the bonus of having a long service life and the ability to recover from deep discharge situations, which is particularly useful in emergency situations.
Now, let's talk about my personal experience with the Mighty Max Battery. I've used it to jump-start my car during a surprise power outage, and it worked like a charm. It's compact, which made it easy to store in my glove compartment, and it fits perfectly into the port on my Die Hard jump starter.
However, there were a few drawbacks. The product doesn't come with a wire harness or mounting accessories, which means you'll have to purchase those separately if you don't already have them. Additionally, the battery's weight might be a concern for some, but for me, it wasn't a deal-breaker.
Overall, the Mighty Max Battery 12V 22Ah is a powerful and reliable option for anyone in need of a portable jump starter. It's easy to use, long-lasting, and has a compact design that makes it a convenient option for those always on the go. I've been using the Schumacher DSR ProSeries Jump Starter in my daily life for a few months now, and I must say it's been quite the reliable companion. When I needed to jumpstart my car the other day, it took me just a few minutes to get everything connected and running smoothly. The 525 cranking amps and 350 cold cranking amps really make a difference in those crucial moments.
One thing that really stood out to me was the easy-to-read digital display and ON/OFF switch. They made it easy for me to keep track of the battery life and to ensure I wasn't draining it unnecessarily. However, I did notice that the 60-inch cable length wasn't quite long enough to reach my car when it was parked in the driveway, so I had to make a few adjustments.
I particularly appreciate Schumacher's safety features like the reverse hook-up safeguard alarm, which makes sure that the clamps are connected to the battery correctly. Having this safety feature has given me peace of mind when jumpstarting my car or helping friends in need.
This jump starter is well-built and seems to be quite durable. It's a little bit heavy to carry around, but it's certainly sturdy enough to handle the job. The 2.1-amp USB port and 12V DC outlet added bonus features that I've come to appreciate during my camping trips and other outdoor activities.
In conclusion, I highly recommend the Schumacher DSR ProSeries Jump Starter. It has proven to be an invaluable addition to my daily life, and I know I can always count on it when I need to get my car back up and running.

With its maintenance-free Absorbed Glass Mat (AGM) technology, I no longer have to worry about water spills or leaks. The deep cycle performance has been outstanding, and the leak-proof pressurized valve system ensures safety and longevity.

I've always been a fan of the XS Power D3400 12V AGM Battery. It's been my go-to power source for my car's audio system. I could definitely feel the difference in the quality once I switched to this battery. The absorption glass mat technology really works wonders!
One of the best things about this battery is its high output. With a max of 3,300 amps, it really powers my speakers. The M6 terminal hardware which comes alongside also adds to the convenience. The battery is classified for OE fit and runs on a wide range of watts, making it versatile for different audio setups.
However, the packaging of the battery wasn't as satisfactory. The battery box came damaged and there were instances where the label peeled off. As far as the terminal hardware, it seems some customers found it missing from their package.
Despite those minor issues, I'm still impressed with this battery's performance. It's durable, reliable, and has definitely elevated the audio quality of my ride. Overall, I would say it's a great power source for any serious audio setup.

Firstly, the AGM Super Cycle technology is truly remarkable. Unlike traditional batteries, these super cycle batteries can handle occasional or frequent partial discharges without any issues. Their smaller size and reduced weight make them an attractive choice for those who are particular about the battery size.
However, there are a few drawbacks that I noticed too. While the battery is designed to prevent sulfation during deep discharge, one has to be careful with frequent deep discharges, as it could reduce the battery's life span. Also, the slightly higher voltage during recharge can strain some battery connections.
Overall, I am quite impressed with this battery's performance. It has proven to be reliable, easy to use, and quite efficient, even with the occasional drawbacks.

I recently had the opportunity to try out the Schumacher Electric DSR ProPSJ-2212 12V 18Ah Jump Starter Replacement Battery. As someone who relies on jump starters frequently, I was excited to see if this one would live up to the hype.
The battery itself is a maintenance-free AGM technology, which means I no longer have to worry about adding acid or water. I found this to be a huge time-saver, especially when I was in a rush. Additionally, it was important to note that this is a replacement battery and not a complete starter pack, so I had to use my existing cables and hardware.
One standout feature of this battery is the charging speed. It quickly charges and then switches to maintain mode, protecting the battery from overcharging. This was particularly helpful when I was using it on a daily basis.
The sturdiness of the battery was also impressive. It had a nice heavy case that gave me confidence in the battery's durability. The cords were long and easy to manage, which was a nice bonus when I needed to reach the back of my vehicle.
Overall, the Schumacher Electric DSR ProPSJ-2212 12V 18Ah Jump Starter Replacement Battery performed well and I was very pleased with my purchase. Its sturdiness, charging speed, and convenient maintenance-free technology make it a great addition to anyone's tool kit.

I have been using the Victron Energy BAT412025081 12V/25Ah AGM Super Cycle Batt. (M5) for quite some time now, and I must say, it's been a game-changer. One of the main highlights I've experienced is the ability to handle repeated 100% discharge without any worries. The Super Cycle battery's new paste in the positive plates allows for slightly less sensitivity to softening.
Another aspect I appreciate is the significant reduction in sulfation during deep discharge, thanks to new additives in the electrolyte. However, I have noticed that the weight of this battery seems to be fractionally more compared to its standard Victron counterparts.
In terms of downsides, the battery's dimensions and weight are slightly larger and heavier than the standard Deep Cycle AGM batteries, which might be a concern for those with limited storage space or weight restrictions. Overall, the Victron Energy BAT412025081 has proven to be a reliable and efficient solution for my needs, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

I use this 12V, 100Ah SLA battery to power my outdoor devices, and the consistent power supply it provides is quite impressive. The rechargeable feature is definitely a plus, allowing me to use the same battery multiple times without worrying about constantly having to replace it.
One of the aspects that I appreciate the most about this product is its durability. Despite being subjected to various outdoor conditions, the Mighty Max battery has been quite rugged and held up well. The spill-proof feature is a welcomed addition as well, ensuring that my device never gets damaged due to accidents.
That being said, there are a couple of minor downsides to this product. One of them is the weight; it is a bit on the heavier side, which may pose inconvenience when transporting it. Additionally, while the battery offers a decent amount of capacity, the performance under heavy load conditions can be somewhat inconsistent at times.
In summary, the Mighty Max battery, despite its minor flaws, has been a reliable and long-lasting addition to my device setup. Its portability could be improved slightly, but overall, I am quite pleased with my purchase.

One of the highlights is the battery's spill-proof design, which ensures that it can be used in any position without worrying about leaks. It's also rechargeable, which makes it an eco-friendly option for those looking to reduce their carbon footprint.
However, one downside I've noticed is the battery's weight, at 8.78 pounds, which can make it a bit cumbersome to handle. Additionally, it can be challenging to locate all the necessary mounting accessories as they are not included in the package.
Overall, the Mighty Max Battery Ml15-12 has been a trusty companion for my power needs. With its various compatibility options and spill-proof design, it's a reliable choice for those in the market for a high-performance battery with a long service life.

2024.06.02 09:05 StunningWeekend Long-Time iPhone User After 72 hours With Android (Pixel 8 then Samsung S24 Ultra) - My Reflections So Far

(Note: I posted this on Android but I wasn't sure if I did something incorrect because it was removed by the bot immediately, and I don't know how to get it approved. So... if you see it there too, then it must have gotten approved at some point and that's why. Just trying to find a home for this discussion and I promise I'm not trying to spam!)
After a decade with iPhone, curiosity finally got the better of me and I made the switch to Android. My trusty iPhone 13 Mini is still there just in case, but I really do hope to sell it soon. I wanted to document my journey over the last 72 hours with Android in case it helps someone else sitting on the margin just looking to dive in.
These 10 things are simply my opinions and reflections! I'm sure my feelings will continue to evolve, but here's where I'm at after 3 days. As I started typing, I did not expect this to be so long, but I had so many things floating through my head. Sorry for the long read and I'd love to hear others who have made similar changes.
1. Sloppy first impressions: I started with a Pixel 8. Got it for $390, in like new condition during eBay's memorial day sale, and just couldn't pass up that deal. The look of the phone never really attracted me before, but after a few hours it really grew on me. However, I really started to get annoyed at the experience and polish. For example, I had a lot of screens where the text was cut off or folders where the text was cut off. There were system pop-ups where I was expected to approve something that disappeared within a second before I could even read it - was it approved or was it declined?! But what really was upsetting was that there's no way to sort notifications by time. The phone would beep and then I'd have to spend a few seconds trying to figure out what the heck the notification was amidst the long list. Half the time, the time stamp doesn't even show and I'm left wondering if I missed something. This was exacerbated when I started not receiving notifications I would expect, because my iPhone (which was still on WiFi only mode) was getting notifications for new Gmail messages for example, and the Pixel just stayed quiet. That was unacceptable and I decided to return the phone.
However, my significant other has a Samsung, and she mentioned never having these issues so I stuck it out and tried again. This time, I figured - go big or go home - and I got the Samsung S24 Ultra.
2. Much better second try: I read a lot of bad experiences about the UI of Samsung coming into this, but frankly it's a lot more polished than the Pixel. It's like there's a nice coat of paint over all the underlying workings and as an iPhone user, I appreciate that. Everything looks great and while I've been toying with some of the themes in the Galaxy store, I have gone back to the normal One UI each time.
3. Smart Switch works great. It took about an hour to transfer all my settings and applications over to the Samsung. The only thing that took a little bit of figuring out was how to get 25K+ iCloud backed up photos onto this phone. Fortunately, there's an official Apple method for transferring iCloud files to Google Photos, and I initiated that. It's still not done but assuming this goes to plan, the transfer process wasn't that bad at all. I pretty much plopped my iPhone sim card into the Android, spent an hour waiting, and then all my old applications, wallpapers, and even placement of icons was there. Then, I just spent about half an hour signing into everything that I needed to (1Password is hugely helpful!) and I'm off to the races.
4. Settings galore: I am not used to this many settings! It seems I am approving or declining permissions all day long. I have multiple Gmail accounts setup, and I have to go in and adjust each account's notification setting when I just want all of my Gmail messages to have the same setting. I thought I would like this level of customization but it's been a little frustrating finding everything, or trying to figure out what I'm even approving. I find myself on YouTube looking for videos for how to change things such as the lock screen shortcuts. I am hoping that once I get through this initial difficulty, then I'll be cruising. And the biggest thing - Samsung lets me sort notifications in chronological order! That's huge (for me).
5. Navigation bars on top. Why?: I had a small iPhone Mini so one-handed navigation was never a real challenge but I still appreciated how all the menu bars (Facebook, Safari, etc.) were on the bottom of the phone. It made navigation really easy. With all the customization I mentioned in #3, I just assumed this would be an easy fix on Android and I'd be able to change this for any app. I was wrong! Other than Firefox, I have not figured out how to do this in Chrome or Facebook (as an example). I really do not understand why the iPhone version of Facebook would have this on the bottom but the Android version would have it on the top! For a phone as big as the S24U, that would've been a really nice option.
6. PhoneLink is pretty good: I had gotten rid of my Macbook a long time ago. I basically live on my Phone and also have an iPad for when I need a bigger screen and a Windows desktop for professional work. Integration b/w devices was never a big deal to me but I put I setup Phone Link and it's been pretty good. I don't have any real complaints so far - I can transfer files and get all my notifications and respond directly from my computer.
7. Dex is really cool but also buggy: The dream of having only to carry around my phone and never having to open up a laptop, tablet or desktop would be amazing. This phone is definitely powerful enough for the applications I use for work - Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc. But Dex has some weird quirks that make it a little unreliable. For example, every time I open up an image in Gallery on Dex, the screen goes black for a few seconds before coming back on. Close the picture? Same thing! The cursor scroll just isn't as smooth as on my Desktop machine where I can customize the DPI settings exactly on the Logitech app. These are small things but build up into a less than perfect experience. But when it works, it works great and it's so close to a dream realized.
8. Face unlock is pretty bad, and the fingerprint reader can be hit or miss: FaceID on iPhone was a pleasure to use, except when it's not - i.e., I'm lying in bed. But for most situations, it works pretty good. For those moments I do wish I had a fingerprint reader so it's really nice to have that on the Samsung. But with that said, the Face unlock is horrendously bad. It works about 3/4 of the time in good light and then never in low light. I think the fingerprint reader is 80% successful on the first try for me but that's still lower than I think it should be. Perhaps I should re-register my finger. (Also, what's up with the super bright fingerprint reader on the Pixel 8? I feel like I was staring at the sun every time went to activate it! That said, it does feel like the Pixel's face unlock is better than Samsung). And on the topic of security, I think one of the biggest things I miss is Apple Pay. Some of my favorite go-to restaurants locally let me order online and pay directly using Apple Pay. Now I have to memorize my credit card number....
9. This thing is super powerful. I think people who choose Android chose it for two primary reasons: customization (which I mention in #2 and #3) and power to be productive. It has been very cool to be able to export files from one app directly into another app, edit it there, and save it as a file and then transfer it to my desktop. On iPhone, it was never a certainty which applications I'd be able to import files directly into but on Samsung it seems everything is available. There's always a workaround or solution or a method to doing something and that's been pretty cool. The Snapdragon processor is quick and the screen is beautiful. It's a great media consumption device and I hope it continues to be as snappy as it is now, because 7 years of updates is a very long time!
10. But the size of this phone is kinda insane. Especially coming from an iPhone mini, this thing is so big! It literally does even fit in my pockets when I am sitting and I've had it slide out a couple times onto the floor already because so much physically hangs out of my pants when seated. If Samsung made a smaller Ultra version of the phone in the same size as the S24, then that would be perfect (kinda like how Apple has the Pro and Pro Max). I think if there's a reason I end up going back to iPhone, it's because of the size of this thing. I want something as powerful as the Ultra but in a smaller package, and I haven't found another company that makes something like that. I don't have a case yet and maybe a more textured case will resolve this.
I'll keep this experiment going as I want to make a real effort to switch. Looking forward to continued learning!

2024.06.02 09:04 Ryudok Learning from this experience to reframe our lives

One of the things that I like to do both during and after my relationship with my pwBPD is to look at how things are for us who (for the most part) have no major mental illnesses that handicap our lives in such a degree. I know some people here may still have other issues but this still applies I think.
PwBPD have such chaotic lives and go through many problems to accomplish the most basic tasks that I think it helps us also see our (somewhat) mundane lives with new eyes. A lot of us have had good childhoods, have true friends, have steady families and steady jobs, are able to plan into the future to make sure our lives and those of our lives ones are better the day of tomorrow, etc.
These kind of things are those sort of stuff that we sometimes forget or do not realize because they are “normal” for us, but I think that looking at them from the perspective of a pwBPD can help us appreciate more. A few examples from me:
Trying to say this for those who seem desperate due to the hole their pwBPD has left. Hang in there and try to look at what you still have and what you are.

In blockchain, decentralization refers to the transfer of control and decision-making from a centralized entity to a distributed network.
This concept is foundational to blockchain technology and distinguishes it from traditional centralized systems.
The Essence of Decentralization
In a centralized system, a single authority or a select group of entities hold control over the network.
They manage data storage, processing, and decision-making, often leading to potential risks like single points of failure, data breaches, and manipulation.
Decentralization mitigates these risks by distributing control across a network of participants, known as nodes.
How Blockchain Achieves Decentralization
Blockchain achieves decentralization through a peer-to-peer (P2P) network where each node maintains a copy of the entire blockchain.
Transactions are verified and recorded by consensus mechanisms such as Proof of Work (PoW) or Proof of Stake (PoS).
These mechanisms ensure that no single node can control the entire network, promoting transparency and security.
Benefits of Decentralization
Enhanced Security:
The distributed nature of blockchain makes it difficult for malicious actors to alter data, as they would need to gain control of a majority of the nodes.
Increased Transparency:
All transactions are recorded on a public ledger, making it easier to trace and verify data.
Resilience:
Decentralized networks are more robust against failures, as the system does not rely on a single point of control.
Trustless Interactions:
Participants can engage in transactions without needing to trust a central authority, relying instead on cryptographic proofs.
Challenges of Decentralization
Scalability:
Decentralized networks often face challenges in handling large volumes of transactions quickly.
Complexity:
Setting up and maintaining a decentralized network can be more complex than a centralized system.
Energy Consumption:
Consensus mechanisms like PoW can be energy-intensive, raising environmental concerns.
Real-World Applications
Cryptocurrencies:
Bitcoin and Ethereum are prime examples of decentralized digital currencies that operate without a central authority.
Decentralized Finance (DeFi):
Platforms like Uniswap and Compound enable financial transactions such as lending and trading without intermediaries.
Supply Chain Management:
Blockchain can track products from origin to consumer, enhancing transparency and reducing fraud.
Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (DAOs):
DAOs are organizations governed by smart contracts, allowing for decentralized decision-making and operations.
The Future of Decentralization
As blockchain technology evolves, the trend towards decentralization is expected to continue, impacting various industries beyond finance.
Innovations in scalability solutions, such as sharding and layer-2 protocols, aim to address current limitations.
Ultimately, decentralization represents a paradigm shift towards more democratic, secure, and transparent systems.
In conclusion, decentralization in blockchain marks a significant departure from traditional centralized models, offering numerous benefits and opportunities for innovation.
Understanding its principles and challenges is crucial for harnessing the full potential of this transformative technology.

2024.06.02 08:45 IamABeautifulBird Voyager is truly my only escape from this world (and DS9/TNG too but a bit less)

The past few months have been chaotic for me. I vowed never to keep up with current news at all and I didn't for like 2 years, but recently life has been chaotic at home, the news frighten me that nuclear war is imminent.
Then I randonly watch an early season voyager episode, and, it makes me cry because it's so calming.
For example you have scenes of just two people in voyager, who are both stuck far away from family and have the same goals and wishes, simply talking. They talk so politely and professionally, and there's no crazy music in the background.
The way they talk and behave, it makes me wish our world was the world of 90s trek too. It's so peaceful and calming to watch the crew. No other show makes me feel at home like this.
Or when Janeway whispers something inspiring or hopeful to a crew member, sends shivers down my spine. It makes me wish our society was like this, that we were beyond money and greed and disease and hunger and constant war.
Thr early seasons especially have the most nostalgic music and some of the most wholesome episodes.
Watched non Sequitur and I'm like, I wish I had a guardian angel like Cosimo.
Or ex post facto, wish I had an entire crew who supports me and knows im innocent even if the "facts" say otherwise, because they know Tom wouldn't murder someone random over a fling, even if he had a prior history in a penal colony, because they don't hold his past against him and he gets a second chance.
I love tattoo for my own reasons. Just every episode is great.
Of course the best pilot and best star trek "movie" by far goes to Emissary of DS9. Nothing sends shivers down my spines and gives me hope joy and tears more than when Sisko opens the orb the first time and is suddenly transported to the moment he met the love of his life.
Star trek is really the only thing in this world that gives me sanity and hope.

During my time sailing on the open seas, I encountered a predicament where my boat's batteries were not being charged properly. That's when I stumbled upon the Blue Sea 7621100 ml ACR Charging Relay. This ingenious device quickly solved my problem, and I couldn't be happier with the results.
The Blue Sea Charging Relay has an automatic charging system that manages the charging of two large battery banks, which was essential in my case. Additionally, it allows me to parallel my battery banks during emergency starting, providing me with that extra peace of mind while out at sea.
Another impressive feature was the 500 Ampere continuous rating, which supported my high-output alternators. This device truly proved its worth by handling the heavy-duty charging tasks with ease.
However, there was one minor issue I encountered - the dual sensing system that senses the charge on both battery banks sometimes caused a bit of confusion while troubleshooting. But overall, the pros outweighed the cons, and I wholeheartedly recommend the Blue Sea 7621100 ml ACR Charging Relay to any sailor in need of a reliable battery management solution.

🔗Alpha Wire 2844/7 Black Hook-Up Wire (24AWG, 304.8m)

The Alpha Wire 2844/7 BK001 hook-up wire is the perfect solution for your electrical needs. It's a 24AWG stranded copper wire that's silver-coated for enhanced conductivity.
The black PTFE jacket provides an excellent insulating layer, making it durable and resistant to wear and tear. The wire is compact, with a 0.036" diameter and a thickness of just 0.006", allowing for easy installation without compromising on its strength. And with a voltage rating of 250V, you can rest easy knowing that it's perfectly designed to handle most household appliances.
I've found that not only does it work well in my daily life, but it's also quite reliable in terms of durability. Overall, this 2844/7 BK001 hook-up wire from Alpha Wire is a top-notch product that I would highly recommend to anyone in need of a reliable hook-up wire.

🔗ACR Olas Core Base Station and Mob Alarm System: MOB Alert with Ultra-Bright LED and Audible Alarm

https://preview.redd.it/wlecdi06p34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b800e5142af720f1ec92550a3f19845540f0f8d5
I recently had the chance to try out the ACR Olas Core Base Station and Mob Alarm System, and I must say, it's a game-changer for boaters. This small yet powerful device has saved me on more than one occasion. Say goodbye to those "Man Overboard" panics and hello to a reassuring safety net for your crew.
One thing that stood out to me was the base station's ability to connect with up to 15 wearable or float transmitters. It's like having a virtual lifeline for your crew, all within arm's reach. I particularly love the option to connect to the ACR Olas mobile app, which provides directional screens and essential MOB positioning prompts during recovery operations.
However, there were a few things I wish were different. For example, the device could be a bit more user-friendly, especially for people who may not be comfortable using technology. Also, I found the wearable transmitters to be a bit bulky, which might be an issue for those who want a sleeker look. But overall, the ACR Olas Core Base Station and Mob Alarm System certainly has my seal of approval.

🔗ACR HydroFix EPIRB Release Unit: Seamless Emergency Beacon Release

https://preview.redd.it/57x7v0h6p34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ff1d8c07162364b1500a9a3a63945bc6e500b675
I recently had the chance to try out the ACR Sea Shelter unit, part of the HydroFix Hydrostatic Release Unit family, and let me tell you, it truly lives up to its reputation as a reliable and user-friendly device.
One of the standout features of this unit is its compatibility with various ACR EPIRB categories. I found the installation process to be incredibly smooth, thanks to the included ACR Sea Shelter, Sea Shelter2, and Sea Shelter3 brackets. These brackets made fitting the unit onto my EPIRB a breeze.
Another great aspect of this release unit is its lack of reliance on battery, blade, or pyrotechnic device to release the beacon when an emergency occurs. The design is built for a quick, seamless, and dependable release in such situations.
However, I did notice that this product is date-stamped and must be replaced every two years from the date of installation or four years from the date of manufacture. While this might seem like a minor inconvenience, it's a good incentive to ensure your device is always up-to-date and functioning at its best.
Overall, my experience with the ACR Sea Shelter unit was very positive. The ease of installation, reliable release mechanism, and compatibility with various EPIRBs make it a valuable investment for anyone looking to ensure their safety at sea. Highly recommended!

The ACR ResQLink View RLS beacon I've been using in my outdoor escapades is a remarkably compact and robust device. It's been meticulously designed, tested, and engineered to withstand even the most extreme environmental conditions. This beacon is also buoyant, which gives it an added edge in watery adventures.
One feature that really stands out is the Return Link Service (RLS) functionality. It's reassuring to know that if I ever need help, my distress message will be received, and my location detected, giving me peace of mind. The device also has a handy digital display that provides live status updates, and with no subscription needed, I don't have to worry about hidden costs.
The battery life is impressive, with a 5-year lifespan and an operational life of 28 hours. However, it's worth mentioning that the device is quite lightweight, which might affect its overall durability. But considering its excellent features and performance, I'd say the ResQLink View RLS is a top choice for anyone seeking a personal locator beacon.

🔗Raco 2844 Metallic Cast Compression Connector for EMT Conduit

The Raco 2844 Cast Uninsulated Compression, aka the Acr Electronics 2844, is a meticulously crafted conduit fitting that boasts an impressive 5.0 rating out of 16 reviews. Designed for EMT conduit, this connector offers a natural finish and robust die-cast zinc construction.
As someone who's been on the receiving end of this product, their CSA and UL listed standards left me confident with the quality of the build. The 2.19 inch overall length and 3.5 inch trade size make this connector a versatile option for your conduit fittings, while the compression connector design provides secure and concrete-tight connections. The ease of wrench installation is also a major plus, as it ensures a snug fit without any hassle.
However, I should note that this connector is non-insulated, so it may not be the best option for certain applications where insulation is a requirement. Additionally, the connector's zinc material may be subject to slight corrosion over time, which could slightly hinder its longevity. Nonetheless, the Raco 2844 Cast Uninsulated Compression is a reliable and efficient conduit fitting, perfect for those seeking a solid, wrench-installed connection in their electrical projects.

🔗Alpha Wire 2844/7 BR001 Hook-Up Wire - 24AWG, Brown, 305M Cable

I've been using the Alpha Wire 2844/7 BR001 Hook-Up Wire for a while now, and it's been a game-changer in my daily life. The stranded copper, silver-coated conductor and PTFE jacket insulation make it a reliable and durable option, perfect for hooking up my electronic devices.
The 24 AWG wire gauge and 305m length have made it easy to work with, and I appreciate the flexibility it provides. The brown jacket insulation has a nice touch and is easy to spot in my messy workspace.
However, one thing I've noticed is that the voltage rating of 250V might not be suitable for all applications, so I had to double-check to make sure it was compatible with my devices.
Overall, the Alpha Wire Hook-Up Wire is a reliable and convenient solution for my electronics needs, and I highly recommend it for others looking for a high-quality wire.

🔗Weather-Resistant Audio Intercom with Hands-Free Loudspeaking

https://preview.redd.it/iwf03qx7p34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9ec4c2c0665ec78774b1e1c5f72024e2bb2066d5
Using the Alpha Communications AM612/04S in my daily life has been a breeze. The hands-free loudspeaking feature works really well, allowing me to communicate without any hassle. The weather-resistant mylar speaker is a standout feature, as it ensures the device performs optimally outdoors, withstanding various weather conditions. The self-wiping push button switches are convenient, providing hassle-free access to the intercom.
However, one downside I've encountered is the presence of plastic buttons and grille, which might not be as durable as I'd like it to be. Additionally, the decorative end caps, while visually appealing, seem a bit flimsy. I've also noticed that the slim-line surface-mount option can cause some installation challenges when mounting the device directly on the wall, despite it being easy to install overall.

🔗Violet 24AWG Alpha Wire Hook-Up

https://preview.redd.it/0qdh67g8p34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=14776e54330273e6d08353a6f1830dbd2598cc93
I was tasked with reviewing an Alpha Wire 2844/7 VI001, a Hook-Up Wire with a 24 AWG copper conductor, coated in violet PTFE insulation. I found the product both durable and visually appealing. The silver coating on the conductor gives it a professional look, while the violet insulation is easier to spot in a busy lab or workshop.
However, I did notice a minor downside. Connecting and disconnecting the wire from its terminals can sometimes be a bit tricky due to the conductor's small size. Despite this minor inconvenience, the wire held up well in my daily use, and I'd recommend it for anyone seeking a reliable and attractive hook-up wire solution in their electrical projects.

🔗15A Rackmount Power Sequencer with 9 Outlets - ETL Listed, EMI/RFI Filtering, and Dual Activation Delay

https://preview.redd.it/bxeintk8p34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fcf3d45eac75a7bbb9559d105613e3e3bca93def
I recently had the chance to try out Lowell ACR-SEQ4-1509 15A Rackmount Power Sequencer, and I have to say, it made quite an impact in my daily life. The first thing that caught my eye was its compact design. It fits easily into any standard rack, and its steel chassis feels sturdy and reliable.
What stood out the most for me was the sequencer's ability to control the power flow to my devices. The front rocker switch effortlessly activated and deactivated the "switched" outlets in the back. The adjustable delay of 0.5 to 10 seconds between each step allowed me to tailor the power sequence to my specific needs.
But, the highlight of this product for me has to be the LED status indicators. They are color-coded and make it incredibly easy to understand the status of each powered device. The addition of the optional momentary remote switches is also a nice touch for those who require hands-free control.
The only downside I found was the lack of an on/off switch. While not a deal-breaker for me, it may be something others consider when purchasing this power sequencer.
Overall, Lowell ACR-SEQ4-1509 15A Rackmount Power Sequencer is a handy tool that makes managing my power connections a breeze. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to streamline their power distribution.

As a boater, I've always been wary of traditional pyrotechnic flares for safety reasons. That's why, when I came across the ACR ResQFlare Electronic Distress Flare & Flag, I knew I had to give it a try. This innovative device has been designed to provide a safer, more reliable alternative to traditional pyrotechnic flares and can even be carried in lieu of them.
What stood out the most was the 360-degree visibility from over six miles away. Not only did it provide excellent visibility during emergencies, but it also had a significantly longer burn time than traditional flares. Its lightweight, compact size, and floatability made it incredibly easy to use – all while being fungus, corrosion, and water-resistant.
The ACR ResQFlare also comes with a distress flag, which, when carried together, qualifies as a replacement for traditional pyrotechnic flares. It's a perfect addition to any ditch bag, especially considering that it doesn't go out of date, saving me time and avoids the hassle of replacement.
One downside I faced was the lack of a lanyard attached to the device. While it floats upright in water, there are better options available that might be more visible in daylight compared to the ACR ResQFlare. However, as a safety device, the ACR ResQFlare still gets the job done without the risk of fire or injury.
In conclusion, the ACR ResQFlare Electronic Distress Flare & Flag is a great addition to any boater's safety arsenal. It's easy to use, safe, and provides excellent visibility during emergencies. Its longevity and added convenience make it a worthy choice as a replacement for traditional pyrotechnic flares.

🔗Accu-Chek Guide Strips: 50-Pack for Advanced Blood Glucose Testing

https://preview.redd.it/0upu5n0bn34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=93f96937aae29c3463b61576a784907bb5a965cc
I've had the pleasure of using the Accu-Chek Guide Test Strips in my daily life, and let me tell you, they've been a game-changer. The simplicity of taking just one strip and ensuring no spillage is a life saver, especially when you're already dealing with the complexities of diabetes.
One of the features that stood out to me was the push-button strip ejector - it's like it was made to keep you from touching used strips. And not having to touch them at all? That's a definite plus. The Accu-Chek Guide Strips are compatible with the Accu-Chek Guide Glucometer, which makes everything just a little bit more convenient.
But, as with any product, there's always a catch. While the strips deliver advanced 10/10 accuracy, I did notice that about 5% of the time they wouldn't work. It's a bit frustrating when you're relying on these strips to keep track of your blood glucose levels. And let's face it, the price isn't exactly wallet-friendly, especially when you can get the same thing at the pharmacy for a fraction of the cost.
Overall, the Accu-Chek Guide Test Strips are a reliable tool for anyone dealing with diabetes. They're easy to use and highly accurate, but the cost and occasional malfunction could be improved. I'd say they're worth the investment, but only if you're willing to deal with the minor setbacks.

As someone who has been living with diabetes for a while now, I was relieved to find the Accu-Chek Guide 100 Test Strips for Glucose Care. The simple yet effective design made it a breeze to use, even on those early mornings when I was groggy.
The smartpack vial was a game-changer, allowing me to take just one strip without any spills. The end of the strip was an innovative feature that I appreciated, as it allowed me to place a small drop of blood anywhere along it for more accurate results. The Made in the USA badge also gave me peace of mind, knowing that the product was of high quality.
Despite the small size, the strips delivered advanced 10/10 accuracy for reliable results. Overall, the Accu-Chek Guide 100 Test Strips proved to be a reliable and user-friendly option for managing my diabetes.

🔗Accu-Chek Active Blood Glucometer Kit: Easy, Accurate Self-Testing for Diabetes Management

https://preview.redd.it/cxydt4xbn34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a33c25554b8b8c7da2bb2488f3390e12307efae4
As someone who needs to regularly keep tabs on their blood glucose levels, I recently gave the Accu-Chek Active Blood Glucometer Kit a try. The whole set felt a bit bulkier than I had anticipated, standing at almost 6 inches tall and 5 inches wide, but it was still easy enough to handle.
What really stood out about this kit was its ease of use and accuracy. After just a few tries, I got the hang of it and could take my readings quickly without any fuss. The large digital display made it simple to read the results at a glance. The pre-and post-meal reminders were another helpful feature, ensuring I kept up with my readings no matter the time of day.
However, there were a few areas where the kit could use some improvement. For example, the packaging could have been friendlier to the environment, and I'd have appreciated if the kit came with more than just 50 test strips.
On the whole, though, the Accu-Chek Active Blood Glucometer Kit was a reliable tool for monitoring blood glucose levels, and its various features made it an excellent choice for self-testing.

🔗Accu-Chek SmartView Test Strips for Exceptional Accuracy

Incorporating Accu-Chek SmartView test strips into my daily routine has been a valuable addition. The precision of these test strips is evident and reassuring, as they adhere to a more stringent specification than previously available. While using these strips, I noticed that they provide reliable results, giving me peace of mind when managing my health.
However, I've also experienced occasional frustrations with the packaging and its compatibility with certain meters. Despite this, the Accu-Chek SmartView test strips are a trustworthy option for those in need of accurate blood glucose readings.

🔗Accu-Chek Mobile 50 Test Cassette for Easy Blood Glucose Monitoring

https://preview.redd.it/0r27dsocn34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8cb31e871f4e89ad278c98a049d1ff8d465fa942
As a person living with diabetes, I've tried various tools to monitor my blood glucose levels. Recently, I gave the Accu-Chek Mobile Test Cassette a try, and I must say, it's been a game-changer. The cassette itself is sleek and compact, allowing me to carry 50 tests on one continuous tape rather than dealing with a pot of individual test strips. It's a welcome change from the hassle of constantly handling and replacing individual strips.
One of the best features of this product is the guidance tabs. They help me avoid unintentional contact of the skin with the test area, making the process much smoother and more accurate. I appreciate the easy blood application and improved handling that these tabs provide. Additionally, I find it reassuring that the cassette has an expiry date printed on it, ensuring that all tests are used within the recommended timeframe.
While the Accu-Chek Mobile Test Cassette is a high-quality product, it does come with a higher price tag compared to some other options. This might be a drawback for some users, especially when considering the cost of lancets and the mobile meter separately. However, for me, the convenience and ease of use that this product provides have made it well worth the investment. Overall, I would highly recommend the Accu-Chek Mobile Test Cassette to anyone looking for an accurate and user-friendly blood glucose monitoring solution.

2024.06.02 08:04 ReasonDear7255 Help I am completely lost - what do you think makes someone entitled?

I am not entirely sure how to write this so please excuse the word vomit that is about to happen. Thank you.
I am an 18 year old online college student and I've always had a bit of trouble making friends and being able to keep them. My anxious tendency's make it hard for me to fully understand why someone would truly want to be my friend. I'm in therapy trying to work this my issues and trying to find better ways of communication. While I've only been in therapy for a short while I, personally, feel like made a ton of progress. I have contacted old friends and have made a couple new ones. I wouldn't go as far to say that I don't struggle with responding but I eventually will.
A big part of my anxiety is that I might take up "too much space", that my behavior would be "too much", that I would be annoying, and ultimately that people would hate be and I'd be lonely. My anxiety sometimes blinds me and I can't tell who I can and can't trust. I see the word alone being used a lot when people use it to describe how they feel but I don't feel alone. The word alone in the dictionary reads "having no one present" and the work lonely in the dictionary reads "without companions; solitary; cut off from others". I believe that the word lonely fits the description of my feeling better than alone. I know that I enjoy my alone time - my space - but for a long time I couldn't tell the difference between the two.
The first time I ever really felt my anxiety was in middle school. My younger self was much more open and optimistic than I am now. I still had that child-like wonder and sense of safety; like nothing could ever go wrong. I wish that feeling never left. As it is for most people, middle school was horrible. I remember being eccentric, happy, and very talkative. This was a direct hit for those "mean girl clicks" everyone had encountered in middle school. At that time I never really understand how cruel the world could truly be. This was the moment I truly felt the anxiety click in, hearing people talk behind your back then be so loving and caring to your face.I won't say that I am a saint because I know that I have also had rude conversations behind peoples backs and I can say nothing eats me alive more then knowing how rude I was. I know that it is almost impossible to get people to not talk about you behind your back, it happens to everyone but this never stopped me from trying.
Those "mean girl clicks" used to talk about how I'm too loud, annoying, they hated my hair, the way I dressed, etc. And I can positively say this went on with me though my entire life. I started dressing in all black, I would speak unless spoken to, I would keep my opinion to myself unless cued otherwise; I did all of this and more just to try and keep the attention off of me. I would keep a book with me at all times so I didn't disrupt anyone so that wouldn't be annoying. I was so fearful of seeing self-centered, being too much to handle, annoying, egotistical, and entitled to how much damage I was doing to my self worth in the long run. I wanted to so anything to avoid being those words because I thought that it would earn me friends; I thought that it would finally make me worthy.
All of this is to say that this was of living followed me though my life. Anytime someone needed something I was the first to volunteer, I wanted to help everyone in every way I could, I wanted to be a natural friend of people. A neutral friend - someone who was like enough to keep around but not noticeable enough to be talked about behind their back. I did this with everyone I met at school, work, family, etc. With this my therapist has helped me open up more and I've gotten more comfortable with myself and the fact that it's okay for me to take up space. However, I am still very aware of how I am acting and how I might be perceived. I think three times about what I am going to say before I say it to make sure I don't say anything that can hurt someone. Does it still accidentally happen, yes, but I am always empathic about it and I always apologize.
I have been in a bit of a job switch recently and I am working with people much older than me and I have had a hard time with management. My most recent bosses and have rude, unforgiving, and disrespectful. Now I understand that not all jobs will be perfect and for the most part you just have to deal with it but as I've said above I take comments that are made to me seriously. I know this can be a bad thing to do but my anxiety had a tendency to pick it up and run with it. My employer makes the schedule on a monthly basis, I am a full-time employee, and for the past two months I have worked 20-25 days each month and now the new schedule (June) I am only scheduled to work for 11 days. With quick math working 11 days can't pay my car insurance let alone the car note. I was understandably, in my opinion, upset and I took it up with them the next day so that I was not speaking out of anger in the moment. When I brought it up to my employer the next morning they told me that 30% of my productivity can from them helping me and the other 70% came from me working alone. I was essentially told that my productivity level was too low and that if I wanted to work more then I need to "prove myself". This honestly stirred a lot of my past worried and anxieties about never be good enough and not being worthy. And while that's not what was explicitly said it is what my anxiety heard.
When I finally got home (I live with a relative) they asked me what was wrong and I had explained the situation with that and I that I felt like I was being productive and trying my hardest. They had brought up the idea that my productivity level might be the issue and when I asked further I was met with one of the more gut-wrenching comments I have ever had anyone say about me. They told me that I act entitled. I have been called many things but for be being called entitled, one of the very things I have tried so hard not to be, it completely broke me inside. I have entered a few inserts below about my "Being Entitled" search.
Entitled - Adjective - Google Definition
What does it mean to be entitled? - Cambridge.org
How do entitled people behave? - Well Mind Article
Example of being entitled - Psychologytoday.org
What does entitled mean as an insult?
With going though and finding all of these articles describing what an entitled person acts like I don't think that I fit into this category. I try so hard to make everyone happy to make sure that their days are going good. I have always shown gratitude when someone does something for me and I have a tendency to say that "I am sorry" even if it has nothing to do with me. They called me entitled on Monday the 27th of May and it is not June 2nd and I never received an apology. This evening I brought it up during a discussion and they asked if it was really still think about it. Part of me wanted to say no that it was just a joke, bottle it up, and move on but I didn't. Instead I said, yes I am, you never said sorry for being rude me, and all they said was that they were being honest. I told them I understand honesty but they could have brought it up in a nice more adult manner. They brushed me off and told be I was being a baby about it that I should take it for face value and "re-evaluate myself". They were never specific about any time I was acting "entitled". When I brought up why it was rude to me and that it was a main center point for my anxiety and that my therapist was helping me finally get through it; they told be that my therapist can't be the only person I talk to about my feelings. They told me that this is not what she is here for. That I needed to talk to my friends and family instead. But this is the problem, I thought that I was so safe with this relative (emotions wise) and now I have been proven wrong so I don't see any reason I would open up to them now. I also brought up the point that it is hard for me to make friends. They looked and me and said well I try and get you to go out to clubs and events but I just don't find it easy to make friends like that. I like quiet spaces where things are calm but even in settings like those it's so hard for me to make friends.
They still never apologized and I truly don't think that they will. I've been dwelling on their comment about me being entitled everyday. And everyday it makes me more and more anxious, I've noticed myself being more secluded to avoid stepping on anyones toes. I think what I am looking for here is opinions that aren't mine or theirs. I know that was a lot to read but if you did I would appreciate some feedback. Do I seem entitled? Do I deserve an apology? How do I deal with something like this because I am completely lost.
Thank you for reading my word-vomit <3

2024.06.02 07:57 Shoddy-Cherry-490 Have we perhaps overemphasized the importance of players like Messi and Ronaldo?

There exists a school of thought in football that says that the midfield is perhaps the most important part of the game and that if you can control the midfield, i.e. if you have the best players in those central positions, you will have the most important key to success. This line of thinking also suggests that we give too much emphasis on the goal scorers of the game - the Messis, the Ronaldos and the Mbappes. That's not because scoring goals isn't important - undoubtedly it requires supreme talent and undoubtedly it receives the most attention - but because games are ultimately won or lost in the battle for the midfield, the pivot between offense and defense in other words.
Some time ago, I had come across this particular tidbit about Barca:
With Xavi on the roster (not necessarily in the starting line-up), Barcelona made it to at least the Champions League semifinals a whopping 10 times (2000, 2002, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2015). Since Xavi's retirement and despite having Messi at the height of his abilities, Barcelona made it to the semifinals of Champions League just once in 2019. Now to pin this decline on Xavi's retirement is too simple. But it is noteworthy that our midfield after 2015 never had quite the leadership that it had with Xavi there.
You can make a similar observation about Real Madrid and Toni Kroos or Luka Modric, who both have more Champions League wins with Madrid than for example Cristiano Ronaldo, suggesting perhaps that CR7 might be far more replaceable than a dominant midfielder.
And this observation doesn't end there. Most of the great teams of the past 40 years all had incredible central midfielders that controlled the play: Kante, Pirlo, Matthäus, Sammer, Platini, Zidane, Albertini, Donadoni, Makele, Deschamps, Essien, Snejder and many others were hugely influential without being omnipresent on the scoresheet.
I will admit that I am an optimist, but it would follow from this that Barcelona with so many quality midfielders still fairly early in their careers, particularly Gavi and Pedri, are perhaps on the right track.

2024.06.02 07:27 mansplanar 40 Creative Tinder Bio Ideas (That Will Work For Any Dating App!)

If you're on the apps—whether you're looking for marriage, looking for a hookup or you're just looking for a nice night out on the town—one thing is for sure: You have seconds to make a first impression that keeps someone from swiping left. What's the key? Knowing how to make your Tinder bios stand out among the rest.
If you're wondering: "What is a good bio for Tinder? How do I spice up my Tinder bio?" then you've come to the right place. Marissa Moore, a counselor and couples therapist with years of experience, gave us all her recommendations for making your bio the best of them all (plus 40 ideas for the best Tinder bios, below!)
What to Put In a Tinder Bio
So, you've opened up the "edit" section on your Tinder bio (or Hinge bio or even Bumble bio, too) and you're staring blankly at your phone. How are you supposed to know how to write a Tinder bio that will stop someone in their tracks?
How Dating Apps Are Changing Our Psychology
The secret, Moore says, is deciding between a few different formulas, and sticking to one. Remember: This doesn't have to be super complicated. It's actually supposed to be fun! To get started, use these are a guide on what to put in Tinder bio:
Everyone loves a perfectly-timed one-liner, right? Write something that captures your personality or sense of humor.
Want to keep it straight forward? Go the old-fashioned route and write a brief description of yourself, highlighting your interests, hobbies or passions.
You're funny, so maybe use this time to show it off. Using a joke or witty remark can be a great way to give someone a sense of your personality, too.
Lastly, if you're a romantic at heart or suave in your own right, try using a creative and flirty pick up line that stands out (but avoid anything overly cheesy or inappropriate.)
How to Write a Tinder Bio
Now that you've got a road map for how to make a good Tinder bio—i.e. you've chosen a one-liner, keeping it straight forward, leaning on your humor or a pick up line—what is the best way to approach actually writing it all out?
Whether you're looking to write clever Tinder bios, Tinder bios for guys or just wanting to make your dating app bio shine with your personality, Moore has a few tried-and-true tricks up her sleeve to stand out.
Be Authentic
It might be tempting to want to make yourself look "better" than you are IRL, but this is never a good idea, and your dates will learn the truth eventually. That's why Moore suggests the biggest piece of advice: to be authentic.
Good Morning Texts For Her
Wake Her With A Smile With These 82 Good Morning Texts
Let her know that she's always the first thing on your mind.
Woman looks at her phone while smiling.
Funny, punny and non-corny inpsiration, right this way.
"Showcase your genuine personality and interests," Moore says. "Rather than trying to portray yourself as someone you're not."
Keep it Concise
Next up? Make sure to keep your Tinder bios as concise as possible. Remember: you've got seconds to impress the person on the other end — let's make sure you get a swipe right.
"Aim for a bio that is clear, concise and easy to read," she says. "Avoid overwhelming potential matches with too much information."
Show, Don't Tell
Another tip? Show, don't tell. According to Moore, Instead of listing qualities about yourself, you might consider sharing anecdotes or stories that illustrate who you are and what you enjoy. This can sometimes be more intriguing.
Highlight Your Unique Traits
What makes you unique is a good thing! Use it to your advantage. By focusing on what makes you stand out from the crowd, and what you can offer in a relationship, you may find someone who already loves your quirks and differences, right off the bat.
Funny Tinder Bios

2024.06.02 07:26 murkyoder I seriously don't see why people think Rory is a bad reporter

Rory is not a bad reporter...
While we very rarely get to hear anything she writes, she has been complimented by both professionals, friends, colleagues, and ordinary people alike. She works hard and gets shit done. That whole episode where she takes care of the Yale Daily News while Paris is having some weird breakdown in her tent is just one example. She isn't some girl that just doesn't do anything and whines all the time. She is clearly talented and smart and knows how to write. Hell even in the awful revival they mention her writing a piece for the New Yorker!
And to be honest I know this isn't what I originally posted this for but Rory is not nearly as bad as people make her out to be. Most of the revival doesn't count for this since wits definitely lackluster when talking about Rory's actual character but she is a good person. She care about people, I don't know where people get it that she's some egotistical selfish bitch or something she definitely not. She clearly has some attention seeking problems and confidence issues as well as indecisiveness but she's also a normal person. And if I'm being honest, with the exception of some plotlines her arc as a individual trying to achieve her goals was not at all irritating or bad to me but great. Season 1 to 7 I think Rory was a great character. Though I will say she's far from the best in the show.
Long rant over I just hate the hate on this character to be honest.

2024.06.02 07:22 diddler247 Looking good so far

The league is looking very competitive this year, and honestly the table looks a little deceiving as well. Scottish have been on fire with their veteran signings and Impact are close on their tails too. Teams near the bottom (BTB and Foothills) aren’t as bad as you may think.
For example BTB lost their last 3 but they’ve all been by one goal and seem to be unlucky at times. Can’t wait to see how the season shakes up

2024.06.02 07:21 RedditIsTrashLma0 Just beat this game. My thoughts.

I thought this game looked pretty generic at first. It all looked like very basic, bogstandard roguelike business. I saw a few youtube videos propping up the game up but I was still sceptical. I was also tired of roguelikes in general by this point and was convinced that it is a mediocre genre that is plagued with fodder mobs and repetition. But a week ago I saw that it was on sale for only about £4 so I thought "sure why not?".
The introduction at the museum felt slow. Then I started my first few runs. I wasn't used to the lack of inviniciblity frames when you get hit for one. I also found it a bit uncomfortable how scarce gold was. But then I played again and again until the newness wore off and I finally adjusted and got into a flow state with this game.
And all I can say is....
HOLY FUCKING SHIT. I was NOT expecting this level of peak. This game has singlehandedly rejuvenated my faith in the entire genre. Heck, in video games as an entire medium. Video games like this are why I live. This game is objectively a 10/10 and I will eat anyone who says otherwise.
Why?
First off, the difficulty feels brutally honest. Fair but honest. Unlike 99% of games you can't just abuse invincibility frames to back away from enemies when you get hit. You have to make sure you don't put yourself into a situation where you can get hit. This move alone was extremely bold on the devs part but it made all the difference in making the combat feel exciting and difficult to players who enjoy a challenge.
Mobs are very smart, strong, fast and all around ruthless. The basic enemies aren't much of a problem but the beefier realm exclusive soldiers usually have a trick up their sleeve like the wind knights evading your attacks and instantly teleporting behind you or the earth knights unexpectedly guarding your attack. Or enemies with reflect shields. Or that asshole cyclops enemy who can stunlock you into losing like half your health with his laser. You have to constantly stay on top of them and be aware of your surroundings(nearest escape route, positioning yourself away from pits, etc) and your cooldowns because one slip up can lead to you being stunlocked into losing half your health. Mobs move very fast and can even teleport around you, forcing you to stay on the move and make quick decisions on the fly. The fact that you do not always have access to any given spell in your arsenal due to the cooldown system makes you hyper cautious of every decision you make during combat as well as you might need access to a certain spell if you get cornered, further reinforcing this intense, razors edge feel to the combat. Mobs are brutal but at the same time they aren't damage sponges. This is probably the biggest problem I have with some other roguelikes like Warm Snow, Astral Ascent and to an extent Hades. In order to compensate for how busted your damage output can get due to the chaotically unrestrained progression in those games, they design the mobs to get exponentially tankier(without as much of a buff to the aggressiveness and damage output) as the run progresses to the point where most fights you're just mashing the same attack buttons and going through the motions until you reach the next boss. This game nailed mob design and other games should take note.
The bosses are phenomenal. I think the wind and lightning boss were kind of cheap but still very enjoyable. What really sets the bosses apart in this game from other bosses is similar to what makes the mobs great. They have relatively low health but have relentless attack patterns that are hard to dodge and move fast, making battles feel exciting rather than just drawn out and tedious. You can clear out each boss in about a dozen seconds if you're skilled enough but you risk losing a lot of health if you go on the offensive more.
I think part of what allows the combat to be so great is how "controlled" the progression is, both in and out of runs. This is by far the most balanced roguelike i've played in that regard. This isn't one of those roguelikes where you can easily come across broken upgrades or string together broken synergies and just steamroll everything. It's almost impossible to do that with how low the stat buffs are across the board for relics. For example, if you choose the relic which increases max health, you get 50 points of health, increasing it from 500 to merely 550. In Hades(which in all due respect, is relatively balanced for roguelike standards), your health increasing keepsake increases your health by about 50%. There's also the fact that your average damage buff relic only increases by about 10%, sometimes even lower. At most during any given run you can expect about 30-50% of a damage buff maximum whereas that percentage increase number escalates into the hundreds if not thousands(Warm Snow, i'm looking at you!) in other roguelikes. The currency(Gold) is also handed out very scarcely, pushing the player to make careful decisions with how they spend their money. These are just a few examples, I could spend all day comparing how balanced WOL is with other roguelikes.
As for meta progression, it's basically just collect new spells and relics to equip for your run. You don't level up your health, damage, speed or anything like that. The way I see meta progression in roguelikes is a two edged sword. On one hand there is a feel of instant gratification to using points acquired during your run to make yourself overpowered, allowing you to sweep through encounters that were difficult beforehand. But on the other hand this sort of undermines the point of playing roguelikes. You aren't really getting any better that way. You aren't getting more skilled at the game and making use of trial and error to overcome obstacles that once seemed insurmountable. This is what I love about WOL. It doesn't spoil you. It doesn't let you just "cheat" through the campaign. You have to EARN your victories through blood, sweat and tears and it feels ever so rewarding when you finally make a breakthrough with your own skill and hard work, nothing more. That type of satisfaction is far greater than the cheap, visceral thrill of activating nodes on a skill tree.
Also last thing, I think the level design is great. It feels like the perfect blend of arena and exploration style roguelikes, it seamlessly blends between these two modes with little to no hangup. One second you're fighting off a horde of knights and within the next dozen seconds you're in a shop carefully deciding which relic or arcana to buy with the limited amount of gold you have. There are certain areas in a stage which gets walled off and you are trapped with a horde of enemies but the gate opens and closes in about a split second so it feels so seamless. I also think stages are just about the right length. Long enough to get yourself immersed in, but short enough so that they don't seem to be endlessly dragging on. I like that you can challenge the stage end miniboss as soon as you find the "gate" and just progress to the next stage, even if you only clear out like 20% of the stage. This adds somewhat of a risk/reward element to the game where you may miss out on gold, gems and arcana/relics from shops but you dont risk losing health. Players can engage with the levels as they see fit. Lastly, I think the fact that the order in which you tackle each dungeon is randomized between 5 different dungeons(3 of which are present in a run) which cuts out some of the mundane repetition that as I mentioned above, can sour the experience of roguelike games.
The only major flaws I can see with the game is the balancing between arcana spells(signature lightning orb completely overshadows any other single target spell) and how being rewarded with enhanced arcanas after defeating each boss disincentivises you to buy arcanas(which are usually non enhanced) instead of relics. But these issues can easily be overlooked.
I've rambled a lot here but anyway, my overall point is this game is unashamedly nintendo oldschool brutal and I am all here for it! It just shows that roguelites can be god tier games when they don't coddle the player with pathetically weak mobs, broken synergies and meta-progression that trivialises the need to actually git gud and learn how to beat the game through trial and error.
This game is undoubtedly the king of roguelikes. As much as I love Hades, Rogue Legacy 2 or Dead Cells as the next person, this game is just undeniably the GOAT and it is criminal how obscure it is and how it isn't mentioned in the same conversation as those aforementioned roguelike hits.
