Avoiding edge roll on Saroyan Scarf
I’m knitting the Saroyan Scarf again The pattern is great but the straight edge curls under. You can see it on everyone’s project photos and no amount of blocking helps.
If you’re not familiar with the pattern, there’s a 4 stitch garter edge adjacent to some plain stockinette running the length of the shawl. The garter edge curls under even though it’s not supposed to.
Any suggestions? Would seed or moss stitch be less likely to curl under? Perhaps a ribbed edge?
I don’t want to knit the double leaf version, although that would solve the problem. It’s going to be travel knitting and having to pay attention on both borders would be more concentrating than I want when traveling.

2024.06.02 09:21 HeadspaceBrainfart He’s 28/M, I’m 30/M: Did I just confused my overthinking with my gut feeling?

I’ve been in a same-sex relationship for quite sometime. had 3 exes including the most recent and probably the most manipulative and traumatic I ever had and the last that I’ll allow.
I had a solo trip to Taiwan last November 2023 to clear my headspace and with hopes of moving on from my 2nd ex-boyfriend. I’ve been to places but that was the first time I’ve traveled alone. I rode the Cable car from Taipei zoo to Mao Kong Gandola, that’s roughly 30mins. I was joined by this cute couple (both male). I’m assuming here but they seem like from different country. I can’t hold my thought so I initiated talking to them (they strike to me as very shy). I uttered “You two look cute together”. The Caucasian looking man answered “Yeah! Thank you, I appreciate you telling us that” and we began conversing and even shared the best Night Market to try something out. We parted ways at the end of station. When it’s time to head back, I got lucky and had the cable car all by myself. That trip was a moment. My hopeless Romantic Self just kinda hit, I plead and prayed to God to accord me my partner for life and never will I take him for granted, I’ll nurture our relationship bla! Bla! Bla! Among other words of petitions.
Fast forward, Feb 1, 2024 Someone message me asking my whereabout. I stalked him and he’s nowhere near my province-Batanes (Philippines). Based on his profile, He’s currently working in Makati. So Nah! I don’t thrive in long distance relationships. A rock-hard pass for me. The next day, he messaged me and ask if I can join him to a local bar. To my surprise, he’s working here in my province since September 2023 and told me that he hasn’t updated his bio then. So yeah. Game on! let’s hit it. Thanks, Cupid! Let’s give it a try. We had good time together, met his friends and got their approval. I want to assume that they kinda like me for him. We’re on the same page (atleast that’s what I believed). Its that “rainbows, butterflies and compromise” from the song. I’m loving this feeling. I found myself believing in love again. We went out publicly, we enjoyed our shared interests- beach and snorkeling. Late bednight talks, honest intellectual discourse, movie night, and hitting off the convenience store for ‘Samyang’ noodles. One casual visit at the convenience store, I saw this familiar guy at the cashier. With face mask on, I’m thinking I’ve seen this somewhere else. And yes. It registered, He’s the reason why I’m single before meeting the person I’m with now. This b*tch stole my then boyfriend from me. Anyway, I don’t want to make a buzz about it but I’ve told my boyfriend the whole story and asked him if by any chance that guy messaged him. He said No and firmly assured me that he’s way out of his league. We sometimes go home at 1am. We just can’t stop talking about anything and everything-the things we did for love. Some find it silly but it feeds my soul being with him, it hits differently with your special someone. I’ll do it over and over again.
The butterflies are still there but the time I dread eventually happened. We’re separating for 10 days. He’s going to wedding of his cousin in Manila and I’m part of an entourage for a wedding in a nearby island (I got there by airplane). The ship we’re in began to shake us but our love is stronger than ever. Communication and trust were the foundation of our relationship. We constantly video call and I’ve never felt a sense of insecurity all throughout his vacation in Manila, Elyu and Baguio. He has my full trust and we talked about it. The days have passed and vacation was over. He returned in Batanes on Friday (wedding day that I attended) and I’m still on the other island and will head back to Batanes on Saturday. I was sad that I can’t pick him up at the airport. Good enough that he has friends who can do that on my behalf.
Friday, the day he returned to Batanes was a fine sunny day. He landed safely at 8am and he called me saying he’s gonna sleep. The wedding ceremony ended at 10:30am and for some strange.. very bothering and strange reason. I felt a chill down my spine and felt the need to call him. Idk what went on to my head but there’s this voice telling me that “Call him! Call him right now!” There this itch that needs scratching and this will only be satisfied by calling him. So I did. I called him 3 times before He answered. Strangely, He’s at the Rest room sitting in the toilet with no clothes at all. I overthink and confronted him immediately “Who’s with you? I know you have someone in there”. Ofcourse why would he reveal if there’s any. He just gaslit me and said I’m just over reacting. It doesn’t make sense. He already had his shower before dozing off at 8am, why would he take a shower 2 hours later? I mean. It doesn’t add up. He ended the call and take his clothes on and started calling me. He swiped the whole place with his phone camera reassuring me that no one was there. The heck! Ofcourse if there was someone in there, he/she probably stormed out the moment I called or atleast when he/she had the chance. Anyway, He just wanted me to go back there. I didn’t enjoyed the wedding I attended because I was preoccupied by my thoughts. I even called the airline if there’s an available flight that moment so I can rush my way back. That afternoon, I strolled and made a video recording saying “if you’re watching this, we’re probably on our first anniversary. Today is April 12, 2024 at 6:14 pm I’m at ****** We’re being challenged now and I refuse to give up on you…..” I was suppose to let him watch that video on our 1st anniversary. Sweet huh?!
Saturday, after we landed in Basco I dropped my things to our house. Took a shower and before I went to his boarding house I pass by first to the Cathedral to pray and asked for guidance then I head to his place. I gave him a bouquet of flower and we talked about it. He said he wanted to break up coz’ he’ll eventually move to other place and he knew that I don’t thrive in LDR. I refuse and I just told him we’ll make it through and we’ll cross the bridge when we get there. So yeah! We’re back on the game.
He decided to move to different apartment and someone recommended this place, we repainted it and get it all fixed. We build our dreams, we talked about how he’ll cook for me and pick me up after my shift. We’re dreaming and building our own future and even talked about going to Japan. He bought a cat adding up to the whole romantic setting. I can’t believe we’re a furdaddies.
The truth unravels
One afternoon after I pick him up from his workplace, we checked his apartment (he hasn’t move in yet). We saw the guy who once worked in the convenience store (cashier) on our way to the apartment. Strangely he smiled at my boyfriend and what’s more strange is that my boyfriend smiled back as if they knew each other. So I parked the motorcycle and we went upstair. I can’t just disregard what I just witnessed. I asked him as calm as possible if he knew that guy. He said he met him when he once hit the gym. I immediately sensed a lie here. I told him “Actually, if you quite remember we saw that guy when we are dating and you told me that you haven’t met him and you haven’t went to the gym since then or atleast while we’re together”. I never imagined myself asking him his phone but I did. He unlocked it for me and immediate searched his name on his fb messenger but no messages. I checked his instagram and Voila! It’s a floodgate of cheating messages. The worst part was that the funny and ‘kilig’ videos he sent me were also sent to that guy. Oh! And I thought I was damn special. The story doesn’t end there. Brace yourself. There’s someone who pick him up when he arrived at the airport and it wasn’t one of his tight-knitted friends. Guess who’s the guy? And yes! He’s actually at his boarding house when I “overreact”while I’m at a wedding and yes! They had sex on the same bed we slept in. The final nail to the coffin? They did it twice and I highly doubt that. They probably did it a couple of times but it doesn’t matter. I’m let karma take its toll.
I’m feeling the pain and I hope I self-soothe and bounce back from it. I confused my overthinking with my gut-feeling.

🔗Durable DSLR Camera Case with Neoprene Exterior

https://preview.redd.it/e20685bss34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a3477659f87ec3b0208121acf6263407df1dc1d9
I recently purchased the USA Gear QTL Portable DSLR Camera Case Bag, Southwest and I must say, it's been a game-changer for me. I love the vibrant southwest pattern that not only looks great but also doesn't give away the fact that there's an expensive camera inside my bag. The dimensions are perfect at 7.25 inches x 6 inches x 5.5 inches, making it a great option when I'm on the go.
One of the standout features of this case is its durable neoprene exterior. It's rugged and weather-resistant, ensuring my camera stays safe and secure no matter the conditions. The cover zippers and metal hardware provide extra protection, while the reinforced belt loop offers stability and flexibility in how I carry it.
The adjustable shoulder strap and padded hand strap make it comfortable and easy to use, whether I'm carrying it on my shoulder or hand. However, I find that the bag can feel a bit weighty when I'm carrying a DSLR with a lens attached, making it better suited for shorter outings.
The USA Gear QTL Camera Case Bag has exceeded my expectations in terms of visual appeal, sturdiness, design comfort, size, and weight. The southwest pattern adds a touch of style, while the reinforced metal buckles ensure durability and longevity. The scratch-resistant interior and padded dividers provide extra protection for my camera and lenses. Overall, this case is a perfect blend of style and functionality.
While I appreciate the beautiful design and comfortable carrying options, I wish the interior had a bit more space to accommodate additional camera accessories. Additionally, the rain cover can be challenging to use at first, but once you're familiar with it, it gets easier. Despite these minor drawbacks, I believe the USA Gear QTL Portable DSLR Camera Case Bag, Southwest is a fantastic option for photographers looking for a stylish and durable camera case.

🔗Northwest Electronics Waterproof and Impact-Resistant Camera Case

https://preview.redd.it/5p7wmbpss34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a31ffc07bd06b23805eb6da07f86d02d3bbda72a
I've recently been using the "Northwest Electronics Shielded Case" for all my outdoor adventures, and it's been a game-changer. The O-ring waterproof seal is a lifesaver when I'm near water or in humid climates, giving me peace of mind knowing my gear is safe. It fits my camera and lens perfectly, leaving no room for damage.
The automatic pressure equalization purge has been especially useful, eliminating the need for manual adjustments and ensuring everything stays snug and secure. The high impact polycarbonate hard case has saved my camera from a few accidents already, and its robust cell core with solid walls provide extra support.
Despite its durability, the case is lightweight and fits comfortably in my bag. The throw-down latches ensure everything stays in place, even during the most trying of times. Overall, I am incredibly impressed with the performance and reliability of this case.
However, one downside is that the customizable foam inserts can be a little cumbersome at first, but taking some time to measure and pre-cut everything made it much easier. All in all, I would highly recommend the Northwest Electronics Shielded Case for any adventurer looking to keep their gear safe without compromising on quality.

🔗Insta360 Gear Hard Travel Case

https://preview.redd.it/5iphym0ts34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c2e129a86fa37b208adcce54ba2893c8d9e602a6
I've been using the Hard Carrying Case for Insta360 One X/X2 in my action photography adventures, and let me tell you, it's been a game-changer. The first thing that caught my eye was its button closure - it's so simple yet effective at keeping my precious camera safe and secure.
One of the features I absolutely love about this case is its durability. Made with high-quality PU material, it not only gives off a stylish vibe but also provides water resistance and protection against dampness. I've been traveling with this case for many photography trips now, and my camera is always in tip-top shape thanks to the hard PU surface that keeps scratches and dings at bay.
The size of this carrying case is perfect for those who want to travel light. I can easily fit my Insta360 One X/X2 along with its frame housing inside, making it easy to toss in my backpack or carry-on luggage. Not to mention, the convex lens part design provides extra safety to my camera lens from any potential damage like scratches, dust, or scrapes.
Another great thing about this case is its versatility. Designed specifically for the Insta360 One X/X2, it can also be connected with a selfie stick or used with a tripod for better results.
There's just one downside to this case - it might be a bit too mini for some people's taste. However, I personally find the compact design extremely convenient and portable, especially when I'm on the go.
In summary, the Hard Carrying Case for Insta360 One X/X2 is an awesome companion for all my action photography needs. Its durable and stylish build, combined with its versatile design and size, make it an absolute must-have for anyone who wants to keep their camera safe and sound while exploring the world of action photography.

🔗Fully Enclosed Waterproof Case for Rylo 360

https://preview.redd.it/o943bapts34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=46ff74d106463eb67e1ddb5ac61b78906d70f564
The Rylo Adventure Case is the ultimate accessory for your 360 video camera, offering full protection during all of your outdoor adventures. I've personally used this case for surfing and snowboarding, and it's kept my camera safe from scratches and dings. The case is waterproof up to 3 meters (10 feet), making it perfect for underwater shots. Included are a mounting buckle and two adhesive mounts (one flat, one curved) for securing the camera to any surface - helmets, surfboards, windows, you name it.
However, the lens protector is made from a material that can be easily scratched, which is a con for those looking for a flawless protectant. Also, the sound quality is slightly muffled when using the case, which might affect your overall experience with the camera.
Overall, the Rylo Adventure Case is a solid investment for anyone who wants to take their 360 video camera to the extremes without worrying about damaging it. The ability to use it underwater and the secure mounting options make it a must-have for any adventurer.

🔗Durable Aluminum Alloy Protective Case for GoPro HERO8 Black

https://preview.redd.it/51s0vreus34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=36884215f68c364f1ceac2c63c5245424efa9228
I recently purchased the PULUZ Aluminum Alloy Protective Case specifically designed for my GoPro HERO8 Black, and I must say, it has been a game-changer for my photography adventures. The sturdy aluminum alloy case not only provides an added layer of protection to my camera but also looks incredibly sleek and professional.
One aspect I absolutely love about this case is its ability to help dissipate heat effectively. I often use my GoPro for capturing high-definition videos in various settings, and I've noticed that the camera tends to heat up quite a bit. Thanks to the efficient heat dissipation properties of the PULUZ case, however, I no longer have to worry about overheating or damaging my camera during extended shoots.
Another notable feature of this case is its compatibility with external accessories such as UV lenses and polarizing lenses. With a 52mm thread size, I can easily attach these essential photo tools to enhance the overall quality of my shots. Furthermore, the built-in 1/4-inch screw hole ensures that the case is compatible with any standard tripod, giving me more flexibility when setting up shoots.
However, there is one small issue I've encountered with the PULUZ case – it does add a bit of weight to my setup. As someone who values portability, I sometimes find myself wishing that the case were a tad lighter so that I could carry it around more comfortably. Regardless, the benefits of this protective case far outweigh the minimal inconvenience caused by its weight.
In conclusion, the PULUZ Aluminum Alloy Protective Case has significantly enhanced my GoPro HERO8 Black experience. Its durable construction, efficient heat dissipation, and compatibility with a variety of accessories make it an indispensable tool for budding photographers and adventure enthusiasts alike. While it may add a bit of weight to your camera setup, the added protection and convenience more than make up for it.

🔗TSA-Approved Waterproof Action Camera Case

https://preview.redd.it/ekr6ywzus34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2a34f8e5d164759d609dfbc86a99471bb5d2ea7b
I recently had the chance to test out the Eylar Protective Hard Camera Case, and I must say, it has been a game-changer in my life. As an avid action camera user, I understand the importance of having a reliable case that not only keeps my camera safe but also makes it easy to access. This Eylar case has exceeded my expectations on both fronts.
Firstly, the size is perfect for my camera needs, with dimensions of 13.37 inches x 11.62 inches x 6 inches on the outside and a slightly smaller inner space of 11.81 inches x 8.87 inches x 5.18 inches. The rubber gasket lining ensures that my camera remains waterproof and dustproof, offering up to 1 meter of submergence protection. The customizable foam padding is a great feature, as it allows me to create a snug fit for my camera and its accessories. The case includes two customizable pull and pluck cubes, one bottom pad layer, and one top egg crate layer, providing ample protection against shocks and impacts.
Another highlight of this case is its TSA approval, which means I can take my camera with me on flights without worrying about it getting damaged or stolen. The lockable latches and fittings ensure that the case remains secure throughout my travels. The case also has a stackable design, making it easy to store and transport multiple camera cases together.
However, one downside of this case is that it does not explicitly mention the materials it is made of. It would be helpful to know whether the case is resistant to cracking or damage from the sun. Additionally, while it does meet TSA requirements, the lack of specific details about the case's warranty might concern some potential buyers.
In conclusion, the Eylar Protective Hard Camera Case has been a valuable addition to my camera equipment. Its ability to keep my camera safe from water, dust, and shocks, along with its TSA approval and customizable foam padding, make it stand out among other options on the market. Although it could benefit from more detailed information about its materials and warranty, its overall performance and usability make it a worthwhile investment for action camera enthusiasts like myself.

🔗Soft Silicone Protective Case for GoPro Hero 9 Black

https://preview.redd.it/72acphivs34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2340c0ba5db10676d26fd6ad26c5d34905860e9a
As an avid adventurer and photography enthusiast, I've always been on the lookout for the best accessories to protect and enhance the performance of my GoPro Hero 9 Black camera. When I came across the TELESIN Action Camera Protective Case Cover, I knew I had to give it a try, and it didn't disappoint!
Firstly, the customized shape of the case ensures it fits my GoPro like a glove, with no gaps, providing maximum protection from scratches and dust. The premium soft silicone material not only gives the case a delicate appearance, but it also feels incredibly comfortable and smooth to touch. I love how it safeguards my camera's delicate lens, preserving its brand-new condition.
One feature I truly appreciated is the easily detached lanyard. Not only does it allow me to either hang the camera around my neck for easy accessibility, but I can also wrap it around my wrist for secure and comfortable handling during intense action shots.
However, it's important to note that this case is specifically designed for the GoPro Hero 9 Black only, so other models won't be compatible.
Overall, the TELESIN Action Camera Protective Case Cover has significantly improved my photography experience, providing peace of mind knowing that my GoPro Hero 9 Black is well-protected and ready for action.

🔗Waterproof and Durable Action Shot Camera Case

https://preview.redd.it/d5jkjh2ws34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2b35b88a739e37c9f69916417a6c60538db5bc4a
I recently got my hands on the Action Shot Water Proof Case, primarily to protect my trusty Action Shot camera during my adventurous outdoor excursions. I must say, it has been a game changer!
The first thing that impressed me was its solid build. The rugged design can easily withstand impact and falls, giving me the peace of mind when I'm out capturing extreme shots. Even more impressive is the all-weather sealing feature that keeps my camera dry and safe, irrespective of whether I'm jumping into a pool or attacking the waves on my surfboard.
The easy Click & Grip mounting system is definitely a highlight. It's compatible with all Action Shot mounting hardware, which makes it incredibly convenient to switch between different mounts based on my requirement.
However, as with any product, it does have its shortcomings. The case isn't as water-proof as advertised. I've had a couple of instances where water somehow managed to seep in despite being fully sealed. Additionally, the case's depth doesn't seem to match the 10ft/3meter specification, so that's another point of contention.
All in all, I believe the Action Shot Water Proof Case is a decent accessory for those looking to safeguard their cameras in harsh environments. The robust design and easy mounting system make it versatile, but the lack of proper water-proofing is something that needs improvement.

🔗Stylish Forest Green Camcorder Bag

https://preview.redd.it/1jwyjsews34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=083bc325c400363c574e9aefe3b90619cd2bc117
I recently got the Vangoddy Laurel Forest Green Sport and Action Camera Compact Camera Case to house my precious camera and related gear. As an avid adventurer and storyteller, I need a case that not only provides the utmost protection, but also keeps my camera and its accessories easily accessible.
Ever since I got this case, it's been a game-changer. The nylon material feels secure and sturdy, offering a sense of confidence that my camera is well protected, especially when I'm hiking through rugged terrains or surfing wild waves. Interestingly, its unique padded fold out camera compartment provides an impressive level of protection that has kept my camera safe from any accidents.
One of the things I love about this case is the rear pockets. They allow me to swiftly access my SD memory cards, cables, chargers - the list goes on. This quick access feature has saved me from countless missed photo opportunities. And, when it comes to carrying this case, the adjustable, removable shoulder strap with extra padding has made my travel experience incredibly comfortable.
However, one minor drawback is space for accessories. As a heavy-duty traveler, I pack quite a bit for my photography trips. So, while this case is fantastic, it might not have enough space to cater to all the accessories I might need.
All in all, I'd say the Vangoddy Laurel Forest Green Sport and Action Camera Compact Camera Case is a must-have for photographers or videographers on the go. Its high-quality material, superior protection features, and convenience, make it worth every penny.
So, the next time you hit the road with your action camera, don't forget to pack yours. You won't regret it!

I can personally attest to the convenience and efficiency of the Vivitar Hard-Shell Case for GoPro Action Cameras. . As an avid action camera enthusiast, I've often struggled with managing and transporting my ever-growing collection of accessories. .
This case, with its robust hard-shell construction and thoughtfully designed divided compartments, has been a game-changer. . No more scratched lenses or misplaced memory cards! . Plus, the simplified carrying strap means I can quickly grab my case and go. .
My only minor complaint is that the netted top pocket could be a tad bigger, but overall, this case has made my action camera adventures much smoother. .

FAQ

What are action camera cases, and why are they important?

Action camera cases are protective covers designed specifically for action cameras. Using a case is important to prolong the life and maintain the performance of your action camera.

How do I choose the right action camera case?

Consider the following factors when selecting an action camera case:
  • Size and fit - Make sure the case is designed for your specific camera model and that it fits securely.
  • Protection level - Choose a case that offers the right balance of protection and weight, depending on how and where you plan to use your camera.
  • Materials - Look for cases made from durable materials like polycarbonate, silicone, or hard shells that can withstand harsh conditions.
  • Extra features - Opt for cases that offer additional features such as lens protectors, detachable straps, or mounting options.

How do I clean and maintain my action camera case?

Clean your action camera case using a soft, damp cloth and mild soap. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials that could damage the case. Finally tackled a bucket list shawl
I, like I’m sure many of us, started knitting in April/May of 2020 when I was stuck at home with not much to do. I’ve crocheted for the better part of 30 years and I’d tried to learn to knit a few times but never stuck with it to get over the initial hard part.
In 2020 I decided to push through and “embrace the bad” as I learned, and I made pretty good progress but my confidence lagged behind my skill. I’ve had this shawl on my bucket list since it came out in 2021, but told myself it would be too hard, without even looking at the pattern.
Last month I decided to give it a go, downloaded the pattern, and cast on alllll those stitches with a picot cast on. In less than a month I finished it (just in time for our summer) and I could not be more proud!
Stick with it, even when it’s hard! It really does get easier!

🔗Powerful Rechargeable LED Headlamp for Outdoor Activities

https://preview.redd.it/wiuq4q0g434d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8aaaae34d2c937f5f45e2941cea1481a12dbb896
I recently got my hands on this OLIDEAR LED Headlamp Torch, and I must say it's been a game-changer in my outdoor adventures. I used it for a camping trip last weekend, and I was impressed at how bright the light was. The high brightness LED headlamp with its powerful T6 led spotlight shone like a beacon in the dark.
One feature that really stood out for me was its adjustable lighting angle. I could easily rotate the lamp holder as per my needs and ensure the light was shining in the right direction. The wide lamp cup was another added perk as it allowed me to illuminate a larger area.
The waterproof property of this headlamp was a lifesaver during my camping trip. With an ABS shell, it ensured that my device remained secure even in the wettest conditions. The elastic headband also helped it cling to me when I was running in the wilderness trying to catch a glimpse of a wild animal.
The built-in rechargeable Li-ion battery was another great feature of this product. The lamp lasted me up to 6-8 hours with its brighter mode on. Although I did not use it for hunting, I was able to use the lower mode for a prolonged period of time while reading by the campfire. It's great that this headlamp is versatile and can be used for various activities.
However, one drawback I noticed was that the rotating mechanism was a bit loose. This made it difficult at times to hold and lock the device in place. The weight of the battery pack was also a concern, as after an hour it did start to feel quite heavy on my head.
In conclusion, the OLIDEAR LED Headlamp Torch has been a reliable device for my outdoor escapades. Its high brightness, adjustable lighting angle, waterproof protection, and rechargeable battery are all positive aspects. But its loose rotating mechanism and the weight of the battery pack are areas that need some improvement. Overall, it's a pretty good purchase for outdoor enthusiasts looking for a functional and bright headlamp.

🔗Rechargeable Bright LED Headlamp

I recently gave the Aikertec Headlamp a try during an outdoor camping trip, and let me tell you, it was a game-changer. I loved the 90° adjustable feature which allowed me to direct the light exactly where I needed it, be it during a late-night bathroom run or while exploring the surrounding area. The super bright 6000-lumen LED lights had me seeing clearly even in the darkest of conditions.
But the best part? It's rechargeable! I no longer have to worry about constantly buying new batteries, and it's always ready to go when I need it most. Not to mention, it's Ipx7 waterproof, so even if it gets a little wet, it'll still work like a charm. The downside, though, is that the included batteries can run out pretty quickly when using it in the highest mode, but other than that, the Aikertec Headlamp has exceeded my expectations.

🔗High-Performance 18650 Headlamp with Camouflage Design

https://preview.redd.it/eqg0xyqg434d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1d4807558793d386b0f04d28159f19947a0740c2
I've been using the Mateminco G02 Headlamp for a while now, and it's quickly become one of my favorites. The 1600-lumen brightness is impressive, and the camouflage design is perfect for blending into any environment.
However, I noticed a few downsides as well. The headlamp doesn't come with the 18650 battery, which is a bummer. Additionally, the impact resistance seems a bit lacking at just 1 meter. All in all, it's a great choice for those looking for a reliable, bright headlamp, but don't forget to pick up an extra battery!

🔗Powerful, Waterproof LED Headlamp for Hunting, Fishing, and Camping

https://preview.redd.it/lu7dtn9h434d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a2303bf2cf24464bcc0699ebc92bb18e4d983062
As an avid camper, I've had my fair share of waterproof gadgets. This USB rechargeable headlight, however, stood out due to its IPX6 weatherproof design. It's always been a headache trying to maneuver my way through the forest during a downpour, but this headlamp managed to keep the rain at bay and my journey lit up.
An eagle-eyed lens with high refractive index offered the perfect mix of flood lighting and light-gathering effects. The rotating zoom switch added versatility to the headlamp, switching between flood mode to the right and focus mode to the left.
Three working modes - full bright, strobe, and adjustable brightness - catered to my different needs. Despite being small and powerful, the headlamp had a surprisingly long battery life of 6-12 hours after a full charge. The inclusion of a USB cable for charging and its ability to charge a cellphone added a unique and helpful feature.
The headlamp was comfortable to use too, thanks to its adjustable elastic band and head sponge pad. It's not only comfortable for adults but also suitable for children.
A definite must-have for those seeking versatility and functionality in an outdoor gear.

🔗Outdoor Camping Headlamp with 18650 Battery and USB Charging

https://preview.redd.it/r9ekcihh434d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b97ff1db2c0dec0a07246b95ff1fdcf915dfd65f
Last weekend, I had the chance to try out the 46G XTE+COB Outdoor Camping Headlamp during a hiking trip. I was impressed by its sturdy build, thanks to the aluminum alloy and ABS materials used in its construction. The headlamp's secure press switch made it convenient to turn on or off while I was on the move.
Powered by a built-in 800 mA 18650 rechargeable battery, this little lamp never left me in the dark. It was waterproof, with an IPX4 rating, so I wasn't afraid to use it when the weather turned sour. It charged easily using the Type-C USB charger, and I appreciated its compact size when I needed to store it away.
When it came to functionality, the Headlamp offered six different light modes, which allowed me to adapt to various situations. I particularly liked the alternating flash mode for catching the attention of others, and the SOS mode in case of an emergency. The beam was bright and wide, with an impressive 180° LED coverage.
However, there were a few cons to consider. Firstly, the light modes were not as user-friendly as I would have liked, especially when trying to switch between them quickly. Secondly, the SOS mode was not as responsive as I expected, and I had to press the switch multiple times to trigger it.
Overall, the 46G XTE+COB Outdoor Camping Headlamp was a reliable companion during my hiking trip. It offered me the right balance of brightness, durability, and convenience, despite a few minor drawbacks.

🔗Mighty Nebo 12K Rechargeable LED Flashlight: Powerful and Versatile

https://preview.redd.it/bn0ebinu234d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5cf9a09bc7597de18ff9abd66e64e7e265cc629d
As a flashlight enthusiast, I recently had the chance to try out the Nebo 12K Rechargeable Flashlight, and let me tell you, it did not disappoint. This flashlight boasts 5 different light modes, making it a versatile companion for any outdoor activity or emergency situation.
The highlight of this rechargeable flashlight is its impressive run time, particularly in low mode. With 12 hours of use on low mode, you can be sure it will last during those long power outages or camping trips. Not only does it have a long run time, but it also provides a powerful beam that reaches up to 721 feet.
One feature I appreciated was the 2x adjustable zoom, which allows for flexibility and precision when illuminating a subject. Additionally, the IP67 waterproof rating gave me peace of mind when using the flashlight in wet conditions, knowing it would not easily malfunction.
The NEBO 12K truly shines as a multi-purpose tool, effectively functioning as a camping light, hunting light, EDC flashlight, and even doubling as a power bank for your USB-rechargeable devices.
There were a couple of drawbacks, however. The flashlight itself can be quite heavy, weighing in at 2 pounds, which may be a consideration for some users. The high setting only reaches up to 3,000 lumens, which might not be the brightest available on the market.
In summary, the Nebo 12K Rechargeable Flashlight offers versatility, durability, and an impressive beam distance, making it an excellent choice for outdoor enthusiasts and emergency preparedness. The only downside is its weight and the relatively low lumen capacity on the highest mode, but overall, I am quite pleased with my experience using this flashlight.

🔗990,000 Lumen Rechargeable Flashlight: Waterproof, Portable, & Durable High-Lumen LED Light

https://preview.redd.it/wm2dbb6v234d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d7b313579d285df14ac1a93c9f20b157ae6b7350
I recently tried using this Super Bright LED Flashlight during a camping trip, and I must admit, it was an impressive and necessary piece of gear for my outdoor explorations. With a maximum output of 990,000 lumens, it was brighter than most of my other flashlights combined. The upgraded LED chip and battery really made a difference.
One of the standout features of this high-lumen rechargeable flashlight was the large 12000mAh battery that allowed for up to 24 hours of continuous operation at low light mode. It was perfect for nighttime hikes or scouting while navigating through dense forests. The fast charging port was also a nice touch, significantly speeding up the charging process.
I enjoyed the fact that this flashlight had 4 modes - high, medium, low, and strobe - which were incredibly useful in different situations. The easy-to-use switch made it simple to toggle between modes and turn off after use. The durable yet lightweight construction, coupled with its waterproof design, made it a suitable companion for any adventure.
Overall, my experience with the Super Bright LED Flashlight was both exhilarating and eye-opening, as it truly illuminated the darkness and provided comfort on my camping trip. One of the features that stood out to me was its LED bulb, which not only illuminates my workspace effectively but also remains cool to the touch. The work light is also plug-in, making it easy to keep it powered during long work sessions without the need for constantly replacing batteries.
The sturdiness of the light impressed me. Despite its portability, it has a solid construction that helped me achieve a steady working environment. One particularly impressive feature was the built-in rubber USB cover; it not only added durability to the flashlight but also made it less prone to accidents. While adjusting the focus and brightness was a simple and straightforward process, one downside was the tendency of the glass not to cool down quickly, which could potentially burn my hand.
Using this flashlight has been enjoyable and convenient, fulfilling its purpose as a powerful, rechargeable, and versatile light to keep away darkness and danger.

These SKNSL Rechargeable LED Flashlights truly shine with their impressive 900,000 lumen output, providing brightness you can count on. I was particularly drawn to the 7 modes, making it a versatile choice for all kinds of adventures.
One thing I really appreciated is the use of COB technology in these flashlights. It made the focus easily adjustable, switching between wide range and spot illumination, greatly aiding in my detection of surroundings.
However, it did take some getting used to with handling the light for long periods of time due to the intense brightness, which felt more like a sun's intense glare.
But overall, these LED flashlights provide a powerful and rechargeable source of light in emergencies or during your outdoor treks. With their IP6 waterproof rating and strong aluminum alloy body, they are built to handle any weather or situation.

This little powerhouse puts out a whopping 12,000 lumens - brighter than any flashlight I've ever owned. But what impresses me the most is its versatility. It's perfect for search and rescue, but I've also found it handy for when I need a little extra light while camping.
The Fenix LR50R is easy to use, too. With dual stainless steel side switches, you can quickly cycle through its six brightness modes and SOS, beacon, and strobe functions. The built-in tripod mount is a nice touch, making it convenient to use in different settings.
Now, let's talk about the battery life. The included 16,000 mAh battery pack can be fast-charged with the USB Type-C charging cable, and it has enough juice to keep the flashlight running for over 58 hours on eco mode. Plus, the LR50R can also be powered by one to four 21700 batteries, making it a great backup for when your primary battery dies.
The Fenix LR50R isn't without its minor cons, though. It's definitely on the heavier side, so it might not be the best option for those who prefer a lighter flashlight. Also, while the flashlight itself is well-made, the included accessories could use some improvement - I found the holster and lanyard a bit flimsy.
Overall, the Fenix LR50R rechargeable flashlight is a powerful and versatile tool that's perfect for those who need a reliable light source in any situation. Its high lumen output, easy-to-use interface, and long battery life make it a standout choice among other flashlights on the market.

🔗Extra Bright, Waterproof Rechargeable Flashlight for Emergency and Outdoor Use

https://preview.redd.it/73x0j4w1334d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=352372b7c72684a58b13bcdf4b85727b08f979e6
Last month, I decided to give the Yierblue Rechargeable Spotlight Flashlight a try during one of my usual camping trips. At first, I was skeptical about its claimed brightness, but it truly was extra bright compared to the small models I've used before. The LED light had a lifespan of 50,000 hours, which was impressive considering how often I used it, and its 1000,000 lumen beam was able to cast light up to an incredible 550 yards.
One of the features I found particularly helpful was its IP67 waterproof and floating ability. I submerged it into the river near my campsite by accident, but not only did it perform like a charm, but it actually floated back up to the surface! This added layer of durability was a definite pro, especially when paired with the High strength ABS housing and silicone protective case.
The flashlight's versatile capabilities added even more convenience to my outdoor adventures. With an output port that served as a power bank to charge my devices in emergencies and built-in 10000 mAh batteries, I was confident I would never be left in the dark. The 4 adaptable light settings made it suitable for various activities, from working on a farm to hunting or simply providing hands-free lighting.
Despite all its advantages, one thing I did notice was that the flashlight tended to be quite heavy in comparison to others, making it less ideal for extended periods of use or carrying around on long hikes. Additionally, though the provided red filter was great for specific purposes, such as hunting, I would've appreciated a more adjustable or easily removable feature to further customize the light.
On the whole, my experience with the Yierblue Rechargeable Spotlight Flashlight has been a pleasant one. The brightness, waterproofing, and versatility of the device made it a valuable addition to my camping gear, while its weight and filter issues were minor inconveniences. Overall, I would recommend this flashlight for anyone in need of a heavy-duty, extra bright light for their outdoor adventures.

Buyer's Guide

When it comes to choosing a 12000 Lumen flashlight, there are several factors to consider to ensure you're getting a high-quality product that meets your needs. In this buyer's guide, we will provide you with the important features, considerations, and general advice to help you make an informed decision.

Important Features

Brightness

The primary feature to look for in a 12000 Lumen flashlight is, of course, the brightness. This amount of light output is suitable for various environments, including camping, hiking, emergency situations, and even industrial settings. Always check the manufacturer's specifications to ensure the flashlight delivers the advertised brightness.

https://preview.redd.it/508xrbm3334d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=99ebab50e468272cf04cbc9901a4bdacc9b45524

Weight and Portability

A 12000 Lumen flashlight can be quite heavy, so consider the weight and portability when making your decision. If you plan to carry the flashlight frequently, choose one with a comfortable grip and a balance of size, weight, and power. Additionally, consider whether the flashlight comes with a carrying case, holster, or any other accessories that may aid in portability.

Durability

Since a 12000 Lumen flashlight is likely to be used in outdoor or rugged environments, durability is crucial. Look for a flashlight with a sturdy, waterproof, and shock-resistant build. Check the materials and construction, as well as the manufacturer's warranty, to ensure the product can withstand the wear and tear of everyday use.

Battery Life

A 12000 Lumen flashlight requires a significant amount of power. As such, it's essential to consider the battery life. High-capacity rechargeable batteries are usually recommended for these types of flashlights. Additionally, a fast charging time and the ability to use replaceable batteries can be great advantages.

Beam Type and Beam Pattern

Different flashlight models come with different beam types and patterns. A focused beam is ideal for long-distance illumination, while a wider beam pattern is better for close-up tasks. Consider the activities you'll be using the flashlight for and choose one with a beam type and pattern that suits your needs.

Considerations

Budget

Before making your purchase, establish a budget. While a high-quality 12000 Lumen flashlight may come with a higher price tag, always consider whether the product offers value for money. Additionally, factor in any additional costs for carrying cases, batteries, or other accessories.

Brand Reputation

Do some research on the brand's reputation, customer reviews, and overall satisfaction with their products. A trusted brand with positive reviews is more likely to provide a high-quality and reliable 12000 Lumen flashlight.

Warranty and Support

When choosing a 12000 Lumen flashlight, consider your needs and preferences to make an educated decision. Hello! I’m looking to knit sweaters using charts I generated using images. How would I go about incorporating these into an existing sweater pattern? My concern is that the pattern won’t be centered or will end up at an awkward spot and I won’t know until I’ve invested a lot of time knitting it. Thanks in advance!

2024.06.02 03:03 luckymoomoo BF of nearly 10 years dumped me and moved out while I was gone

Hello - such a sad reason to post here..
My BF and I have been dating for a long time and he is the only man I have ever known.
I've always known he was a very avoidant person and he prefers to run away and disappear when faced with any issues he doesn't really want to deal with. In fact, he has dumped me before for that same reason and we were broken for more than a year. He said he regretted it and never stopped loving/missing me. So we got back together because I also never stopped loving him.
With that said... we have had a rocky relationship. Between his avoidant personality, my anxious personality, and our long history of rocky things like few borderline infidelity issues (him, not me), and both of us struggling in life (career-wise) that made us both not the happiest individual.
I take full accountability that for the past 6 months to maybe even a year, I have been so so unhappy with myself that I only realized a week ago that I felt like I have been treating my partner unfairly. I held him to such high expectations and expected him to change and almost solve all my problems, when I really wasn't being introspective enough. I know it sounds like I'm blaming myself because I love him, and I'm sure a part of that is true.
Anyway, his family lives out of country and rarely visits, so this visit was a big deal (for me). I wanted to make a great impression because I love him and therefore his family is very important to me. And I always had a suspicion they weren't too fond of me (yes, that may be 100% my insecurity). But then while he was away from me but with his parents, we had a big fight. It started with the joke of I think you're the lucky one in the relationship, no you are, etc. leading to him basically not admitting but also not denying that he thinks he is the "better" one in the relationship.
So I got upset. I became reactive. He told me he had to get off the phone and sleep but I insisted that he answer me when I ask "do you really think you're better and that I should be so lucky to be with you?" After I relentlessly repeated that question to him, he raised his voice to say that my insecurities are my problems and none of his business. Ouch. It hurt and I was stunned. So while I was speechless, he said "while you think, I'm gonna go" and hung up on me.
I was so upset, angry, and honestly feeling petty. So much resentment towards him. So I didn't reach out to him. Neither did he.
But during my time away, I did a lot of thinking and worked on myself. Read a book that changed my perspective. I felt like the bad seed in the relationship. It clicked in my head that I'm the one that mainly strained our relationship. I asked for too much without giving myself - like owning up to my own issues and wanting to change myself before demanding change from others. Now I know you can never change anyone else but yourself.
So when he returned from his trip along with his family, I asked him to have a conversation with me in person. I apologized, tearfully read him my letter on my recent enlightenment, and asked if he was considering breaking up with me, which I feared.
He said yes to wanting to dump me. Turns out, during the week that he was with his family, he decided to dump all the issues to his entire family. He denies that he "badmouthed" me, but I think he did something worse.. He told his family that I don't make him happy and that we are simply incompatible. Told them stories about how I pushed his buttons, portraying me in a very negative (and insane) light without giving full context of each situation. Mind you, I pretty much have never met his family. So they know nothing about me, my personality, and anything, for that matter, except from his perspective or whatever he decided/decides to share. Or even this relationship. He told me all the plans have been cancelled (for me) and that his family does not wish to see me. I begged for another chance and that I messed up. After a few hours, he came around and told me that he loved me and to tell him that he's not making the "biggest mistake of his life" by giving me another chance. I of course said that this is the right decision. He even got very intimate with me. I felt like my life was going to come around and that I can do everything better (but obviously not overnight).
The very next morning, he texted me his family doesn't want to see me. They stated that we "can" still date, but they have their own feelings (I think that was a nice way to say that they hate me). I got upset. My fear of rejection and abandonment kicked in. Went into my pattern again to become reactive/impulsive and told him that it isn't fair for them to say that his entire unhappiness is due to me and me only. He has had a tough time with his own careelife that has been making him sad and depressed. That's when he said that that's not true and that I really was the only thing that has been on his mind, making him miserable. Then he said this is exactly what he didn't want to deal with and that we're done.
When I asked to talk on the phone, he called me and said that he no longer believes that I can change and that his family now never wants to do anything with me ever. I was shocked that he was so quick in relaying my reaction to his family. He has never been this tight-knit with his family, so this was all new to me. He said some things that felt like wasn't his words. I felt like his family was manipulating him. I may be wrong and in denial, but I'd like to think that after about a decade, I'm used to the way he talks/thinks from time to time. Also, he said that he "loved" me. Past tense.
So he hangs up on me while I cried his name over and over, after saying that he will only meet me after his business trip (because I asked to please meet in person to talk further while apologizing profusely) and in a public place only, which is about a week. The public place part was what confused me. What was I going to do - endanger him? I have never.. I felt like he was asking for that because maybe he is scared that I may be able to convince him in a private space? This is the part that felt like wasn't his word choice.
I left him a lengthy text apologizing to him and his entire family and that I will not try to justify my behavior as it was wrong of me to act so rashly, especially after promising to change. But that I would like for him to please give this relationship a fair chance as I really do believe we can be very happy together, in a healthy relationship.
That day, I was extremely busy with a packed schedule. After I sent that message, I was running around everywhere. He knew my schedule exactly. He knew exactly when I'd be out of the house and when I'd be back.
Right before my last thing, I get a very cold text response from him saying that he believes I'll reach my career goal, that I have people around me who love me, and that he did read the entire text I sent. And that he'd be "happy to chat" when he's back.
Honestly even before that, I had a suspicion but I simply wasn't able to get home due to my obligations.
I literally ran and sped to get home when I could. I think a part of me died when I did. Everything was gone. All of him. He obviously left some stuff behind as he probably moved within a span of a couple hours, but he did a very thorough job. I was impressed and depressed at the same time. I couldn't stop crying. I had been crying for the entire day and more. Everything. was. gone.
It took so much for me to not reach out and/or react. I was beyond heartbroken. The worst part? I still wanted him so badly. It has been 2 days since this happened and I'm still broken. I haven't eaten for the past 3 days and I can't sleep. I can't stop crying. I keep reading his last text. I told him I'd give him space and I want to honor that, which means I can't do anything right now.
I keep wondering where his stuff is now and where he'll be staying, hoping that he's not burdened and hurting like I am. I'm beyond devastated. My support system is, as expected, completely and utterly shocked and disgusted by this situation (and him). And I actually don't even have any support system near me. They're all far away. I know how it looks. But I would be lying if I said I didn't want him back still. He was and is a wonderful man, despite this ugly goodbye.
I don't know when he'll reach out to have our conversation, but I'm still lost on how to take that.
At first, I was willing to beg him on my knees with tears dripping nonstop. Then I decided to start writing a long letter. Then I decided to make a list of business we have to take care of to go our separate ways. Then I always looped back to the fact that I just want to love him and be with him. I know I sound so incredibly pathetic, but I wish I can get a do-over to show him that I can be so good and that we can be so extremely happy together. I keep wishing I can turn back time and how cruel it is for time to pass this slowly. I blame myself a lot, while acknowledging that the end of this relationship is due to more than just my issues.
I guess I wanted to just get this off my chest.. sorry for the long post. I'll probably delete it after a few days...
I hope things get better and I get a clearer picture of what to do about our conversation. I love him so much and I wish that he still does too...
Also- I read some similar posts so to get ahead of some comments, I did reach out to my therapist and yes I do have a lot to work through. Not only digesting this situation, but also my self-work.
Thank you to everyone who made it this far..

2024.06.02 02:50 Sereniteenie To A

We live in a world where the internet is another living culture and it's currently in the 70's ugh.
Everyone keeps their doors unlocked, invites strangers, loves peace and social harmony, but there's killers and pedos everywheeere.
The pedos will gaslight you with the same familiar tactics--rush to the telegram app, reddit, and other means to make money off the images you post on tiktok of your niece or kids.
Beware any "😭😭😭"
https://imgur.com/a/BNw0sbH
They happen to subreddits
https://imgur.com/a/TvHD4Ks
They are potentially subtley exposing themselves in broad daylight on tiktok trends.
People--STOP pressuring others SO significantly about Gaza and Rafah when the home inside you, our country, AND THE VEHICLE TO SPREAD INFORMATION ABOUT THESE HURT PEOPLE IS BROKEN.
Flooded with garbage. Virtue signaling, "like for jesus" tactics, beware propaganda meant to usher you into group think and isolation from the people around you. Beware the people from our country and other countries who recognize that inciting growth, movement, outrage, and more doesn't lie in television anymore.
Here we see a migration from the bought news anchor archetypes who play a character, to the characters themselves popping up on your FYP. Be very careful and fact check. Be safe and Mindful.
Work hard to keep you online anonymity safe and healthy and other people's anonymity safe and healthy too. These dangerous persona's have become a piece of life and internet culture and so they need healing too.
We need to re-educate the people en masse on how to be safe on the internet.
Ask the rich, ask the celebrities--they have enough money, transportation, and housing to save all these people and give them the refuge the people need.
They can do something good with all the pollution they add with their private jets then.
Stop spreading noise on tiktok and send it to them instead--tell them that students and citizens should be worrying about the future which the rich already have laid in the stones of Hollywood walk of fame.
Our world is hurting and we all have to bear responsibility. The students must learn, the citizens must work and pray and innovate, the rich need to stop making more money and instead make more change. Their eternity can be the change they make and not the ghost art, business, and music they leave behind.
People do not control who is rich and especially who is famous
Celebrities are often tools and faces for what others want
Think of the actors/actresses that had to do the impossible to escape scientology, cults, media, being on display 24/7,
The want to be famous is often a curse as no one will tell you what you are getting into
I kind of relate in a way
And if you wonder "why do they come back?"
The easy answer is it's like returning to an abuser
...The grass is greener and maybe I miss my ex...I don't want to be forgotten...
And they know that just because they are here now doesn't mean they will ever be remembered
They get scared as other celebrities start to pass away...they get scared of age and change and it means their things are too old, corrupt, or they realize that more and more is drowning their name away
They get scared that one day people will say "____ died? Who the hell is that?"
And once they're gone--people won't even say it anymore because there's no name to remember
Times and tech will change
I don't know many dead actors and actresses
And they already are almost fame dead--the world is trying hard to leave them behind
It started with YouTube--which wasn't much of a threat
Until millenials became cable cutters and encouraged their family to do the same--so companies began lumping TV into prices so you were forced NOT to drop TV
Vine came on and we had now three celebs
Content creators, viners, and traditional celebs
It was a new realization that YouTube could be topped
Insta wasn't much at the time--it was just picture FB--and more geared to photography not influencers (it began AS a photography app but students used it differently)
Vine died and went to YouTube--youtube didn't like Vine--celebs felt threatened and demeaned YouTube creators
It created a brief disconnect
But eventually celebs grabbed ahold again as new blood grew up (child stars--zendaya, chalamet, whatever)
And it may happen again--if you want to stop it--you cannot let more "flowers" grow
So child stars need to be set free--not plucked
Not ostracized or demonized--any under 20 shouldn't be held accountable
The second disconnect happened with covid
Our celebs in disasters are usually like bards--giving song and acts and art as support--generosity and vows to immortalize our lives and struggles
And we in turn hold them in our hearts too and give them stories to hear and remember their name, give them support
But when they no longer have that connection they lose their use and purpose
They become vile--an evil bard steals your story, your song, your money, your time, your life
With covid there was so much politically--everyone was exhausted
There was a bit of a rallying cry from them to keep our spirits up
But when they became adverts and politically involved it seemed it dropped--covid was almost like wearing a band on you in our country
"mask" and "maskless" became "liberal" and "conservative"
Everyone fell prey to it and I remember how shocking it was morally to our systems
Because it WAS important--people were going to die--but also such an outward display of politics really hit morale
Like nazi Germany
And it happened to celebrities
Soon no one cared about movie theaters
We realized how little it mattered to see movies there
And money makers were maaad
They tried making some poor celebrities tell us that we were "heroes" for paying over 20 to get motion sickness and a headache in a theater
A house divided against itself cannot stand but in light of these issues
Sometimes it takes an attack on individualism to fortify us better
We already have lived through our etiquette eras many times
Regardless of what comes out of this silly little idea of "turning points" the world will always surprise you
The second you define it something new comes to life--in an ever growing universe how can you expect anything less than to be constantly proven wrong?
Or to have every pattern broken
We are still so primitive
Celebrities are wasting so much and have forgotten their own identities
They need to reconnect with the populace or risk being left behind
But
The other day I made it to kohl's and other places
I looked around and realized--there is so much GARBAGE and WASTE in our own stores and backyards and streets
It needs weeding
A whole store full of junk--useless bags and purses and clothing
And SO much of it
It serves barely any purpose and it barely even lasts
And takes up so much space and energy
Marie Kondo that shit
Looking at it is exhausting and creates choice fatigue it's visually garbage too and affects the mind
We ALL need to reconnect with our homes, ourselves, our cultures, and our emerging cultures.
Climate change, feminism, internet safety, celebrated individuals, the objects we wear and innovate, the waste we produce, the morality and ethics we need.
Do what you can--don't belittle other people for what they cannot provide, not everyone has the mental energy for every topic and injustice.
But it feels like theirs a gap in the people that are sharing the load, and those who have "escaped" only to fall under a new set of burdens.
There has to be a way to reconnect again?

Enthusiastic, unpaid product recommendation
*I'm sharing a product that I love. I'm not being paid to do this. In fact, the artist/creator doesn't know me and has no idea I'm posting this (and i really hope this doesn't bother them for any reason).
-Artist: BogardLC (Kyiv, Ukraine) -Etsy shop: https://www.etsy.com/shop/BogardLG
Items pictured: - Prima Trio case (I use it to hold multiple sets of interchangeable tips, many cables, and their accessories; and all of my dpns except for size 11-17) https://www.etsy.com/listing/967485218/prima-trio-knitting-needle-dpn-organizer - Flip case(made for chaiogoo twist, but i use it for crochet hooks) https://www.etsy.com/listing/1223987330/leather-flip-case-for-chaiogoo-twist-set
1) I'm very rough on my possessions. I just wear through things fast. So I need my daily tools to be very sturdy. These cases are solid. I'm rough with them. My animals are rough with them. They take a beating. The quality of both the materials and the craftsmanship are exceptional.
2) I'm autistic and have various paticularities. One of them is needing to have the right/best tool for a job. This means that when the tools that I constantly use aren't entirely sufficient it causes genuine emotional upset (frustration, impatience, annoyance, etc). Also, as a medically disabled person, I am permanently broke. So, I can often only afford tools that are cheap or incomplete. This case meets my needs perfectly and causes active joy and satisfaction daily.
3) I don't have much money, definitely not enough to donate any to anything. So getting to send money into the Ukrainian economy the few times I need to buy something "expensive" feels good/productive. I lost the Ukrainian portion of my mom's family during WWII and really wish I could be more helpful to those in Ukraine while they are under attack.
I hope this was helpful for anyone looking to improve their small tool organization.

Finished my most complicated knit :)
My brother asked me for a cable knit sweater at Christmas and I’ve been working on it ever since. The sleeves are a little long so he’s turned up the cuffs, but other than that I’m really happy with how it’s turned out.
Sweater is Saven by Meghan Babin.

Is there a benefit to doing the tapered connection like this?
I’m recreating this cardigan and I noticed that the area where the back and the front meet isn’t straight like most patterns. It’s sort of tapers off with each color. Is there a benefit to this fit wise? I’m still newish to knitting and I’m not really sure how to achieve the tapered look but I’m willing to give it a try if it has a benefit

2024.06.01 22:41 nobody2222234 What is this pattern saying?

What is this pattern saying?
For context, this is a free pattern for making a stuffed animal. I have made several, and have made the heads different every time, because I have no clue what this is trying to say. I understand: - Cast on 14 - Knit 14 rows And then ….. is it 3 rows of (k2tog, K) repeat next, then 3 rows of (M1, K) repeat? And then 14 more normal K rows? That doesn’t turn out nicely.
Can anyone decipher this? Thanks in advance!

2024.06.01 21:39 musigalglo I wrote this in 2011 and thought of it when I stumbled across this sub

ADRIFT
He actually felt awake that morning. Unsmeared by sleep, the world sparkled as the fresh morning light shone from every surface. The road was wet with the rain that had ceased even before he woke and reflected the traffic lights more dully than it had the night before. As he opened the door of his generic silver Toyota, his shoes scraped on the grit covering the pavement. The air was still moist, and though the clouds overhead were moving quickly, some of them were still dark. John sat and closed the sedan’s door. The engine grumbled into life, and he pulled through the parking lot onto the road.
He hated hotels. The thought of other people sharing a wall with him as he slept made him uneasy. There was also the speculation of how many couples had used the bed in which he lay for something other than sleep.
Last night had been different, though. It had been the grand opening of this Motel 6, and though he had skipped the complementary continental breakfast, he had been able to request the corner room, with no one adjacent.
Traffic was easy along the highway, and the promising clouds sprinkled his windshield as he moved further northeast. High mesas rose from the plain, red rock stained darker by the rain. Windshield-wipers swished, pushing the water from before his face as he sped down the road.
At eight o’clock that evening, his stomach began to ache, so he pulled into a gas station to buy supper. The lights in the overhead above the gas pumps glared down into the night; the air smelled of gasoline, and oil spots clustered in dried-up puddles before each vacant terminal. John locked his car and walked to the convenience store. The cold felt welcome on his skin, and he could now detect a hint of cigarette smoke in the air.
A security camera warning greeted him in red on the clear glass door and a bell rang tinnily as he pulled it open. The lights mirrored the glare of those outside. The floors were white, and short shelves of ill-aligned candy and snacks filled the center of the room in evenly disheveled rows. To his right, the checkout counter stood empty.
John walked between the shelves of junk food to the row of fogged refrigerated cabinets set into the far wall. He selected a ham and croissant sandwich and a bottle of Mountain Dew and walked to the register.
The little bell rang again, and the cashier came in. He was wearing a blue vest, and the scent of tobacco hung about his hair and clothes. He monotoned a greeting and rang up the food, and John returned to his car.
The Mountain Dew tingled against the inside of his lips. He ate as he drove.
His car was a bullet of warmth that shot through the cold, dark night, the windshield clearer now than it had been all day; it brought the world before him into sharp focus, making the soft black of the night stop abruptly where the small white dots that distinguished the lanes sat huddled like little rocks in that vast, hard stream.
The next morning he pulled into a rest stop and shut down his engine. The sun was just peeking over the trees that jumbled along the side of the road. After using the restroom, John bought a granola bar from the vending machine with the quarters that had been his change the night before. He munched it as he reclined his driver’s chair as far as it would go, and tried to keep the crumbs from falling on his shirt. The bar tasted oddly of dried banana, though there was no fruit in it, and it stuck to his teeth and throat.
He awoke when another car entered the cul-de-sac of pavement and parked beside him. It was already after noon. He managed to stretch two minutes into half an hour more of imagined dream time before the children that clambered out of the new car and clamored for bathroom priority drove back the waves of sleep that lapped at the edges of his brain.
Michigan was drawing nearer. He was finally nearing the destination he had avoided for so long. But though it didn’t really matter to him when he arrived, and it wasn’t as though anyone was expecting him, he knew he could not keep driving forever. He had to get somewhere sometime.
John spent the next night at a motel – a mom-and-pop kind of place with hand-knitted blankets and carpet from the eighties. The shelf above the bed was lined with potpourri in little vases – almost a graveyard of flowers, but he appreciated the attempt at hominess. What little sleep he got was sporadic and brief.
The belt of “I” states passed in a blur; soon he was turning due north, threading his way into the mitten state like a small blood cell in the wrist of the world. Fall was in full swing here much more so than in the west. Every tree was highlighted in gold, umber, or scarlet, except for the evergreens, which clung resolutely to their stately dark firs. The warm colors threw themselves into the sky with every gust of wind, and little drifts of fallen leaves gathered protectively about the bases of chilly buildings. Wind-whipped grey coated the sky, mimicking the concrete of the freeway below.
After an interchange or two, his exit came, and he stopped at a little diner to admire the waitresses and the toast before moving on. The squeaky vinyl seat of his booth matched the teal skirt of his server. Even with a plate of hash browns and two eggs sunny-side-up to fortify his pitching stomach, he stalled, nursing his coffee until it was tepid and undrinkable. He left it and a generous tip on the table.
He pulled off the road before entering town, and parked in a small clearing behind the graveyard at the edge of the woods. He could, at least, delay his arrival a little longer. He had come here often as a teen, lured partially by the mystique and partially by the loneliness.
The sun was starting to come out as it set, sinking below the layer of cloud. John leaned against his car and looked up at the pearly patterns now gilded by the sunset. It felt good to be back, despite his ambivalence.
There was a little tower on one side of the cemetery – a bell tower. John had always supposed that it may have once been a barn, for it was made of wood, and still had a large double door in the front of it, though it had been boarded shut.
He opened his trunk and retrieved a dreadlock-fringed plaid blanket. Without difficulty, he unlatched the small door in the side of the building and began to climb the stair that wound along the interior walls of the tower. In the loft hung the bell; it was more weathered than he remembered, just as he also must be. The room was full of shifting shadows and gleaming patches of light flung there by the setting sun. Pigeons and dust filtered through the air to rest on the beams. He laid out the blanket and sat with his face to the sunset.
