Hi there! I’ve posted in legaladvice, but haven’t gotten any helpful feedback. Mostly just comments from what appear to be disgruntled landlords who refuse to read context before commenting.
I have a landlord who sought one unlawful eviction starting with a 3-day quit on the basis of a “nuisance” claim. The shorthand is I had an upstairs neighbor who was particularly miserable and complained about everyone in the building. I fought the ensuing nuisance eviction with solid evidence from the other tenants stating that there is not proper insulation and sound proofing, that I’m the quietest neighbor in the building and that my upstairs neighbor was, historically, an unreasonable person to everyone.
The landlord dropped the lawsuit and attempted to settle things with me outside of the court. The thing is, I no longer trusted the landlord and I wanted to work with a mediator to resolve outlying financial obligations. During this eviction, the landlord had told me to stop sending checks and so that’s what I did. I did secure money orders so I would make sure that I stayed on top of managing my expenses, but some attorney friends (not trained in renter rights) had done some research and they told me that because the landlord ended my lease contract during this eviction that I may not be responsible for paying rent for those two months that my home life was in limbo.
I wanted to go to court so that I could get this cleared up by the judge, but with the landlord asking for dismissal, I was left with questions. The landlord was disappointed that I didn’t feel comfortable paying her without mediation and she did end up cashing a check that I’d sent when this had all started, but there were two months that I had money orders for that I didn’t feel comfortable giving to her without some sort of third party counsel.
A week later, I received a new 3-day to quit. This time for breach for having a subletter. I do have a housemate, but he is my caregiver. I call him my emotional support human :). Before the first eviction lawsuit, I’d invited a friend to stay with me for a few days during the holidays. But that’s when I got hit with the nuisance claim and eviction. I have anxiety as a disability. I had listed it in my lease when I signed it. With the harassment from my neighbor and the landlord, my condition worsened and I found myself unsafe in my own home so I invited my friend to stay with me longer. He takes care of me. He answers the door, he gets the mail, he makes it so I can avoid triggers and he calms me when I am triggered.
I responded to this new eviction and am awaiting court, but I’m more curious to know what my financial obligations are with regard to rent during these months.
Here’s the thing, I have the money, but if the law is unclear in California about whether I actually have to pay rent for this during this upheaval, then obviously I would rather not pay. It’s been so emotionally draining. I couldn’t look for work for months, I’ve lost 30 pounds in the last four months, and I’ve been afraid in my own home. Home hasn’t felt like home and it won’t until this harassment ends.
Does anyone actually know anything about financial obligations in California during an eviction? My lawyer friends have said the law is unclear. I haven’t found anything online.

Hello all,
I am new to magic and exclusively play commander. I really like the format and have little interest in playing other formats.
Basically I am addicted to the game already after 3 weeks of playing and have bought a few precons.
I am not looking to get into the competitive space.
But people tell me I should just buy single cards to build out a deck. Which I might do but find this a bit of an unrewarding endeavor. Mostly because I feel like I am circumvent a major experience of the hobby.
But since i am so new,, I would like to indulge in the hobby and, collect and amass cards. Essentially take a more traditional approach and use the luck of what I get to build out. And think it wise to amass a bunch of cards so that I am not constantly looking to buy singles for every deck build.
I am looking for the wise words of the community to help maybe strike a balance or advise on when it's worth to splurge on booster . Stuff like that . Thank you in advance

heyo, I currently can't afford a horse of my own but I'd like to be able to ride. I did lessons for a while but because it was extremely expensive for what I was doing I kind of wanted to find something else. I was thinking about leasing but most places have a 6-month lease minimum, and I'd want to find something where instead of paying in full for a long time, I could pay each time I rode but I don't know if there's really anything for that. Basically being able to borrow a horse to practice (ofc taking care of tack and hygiene etc..)

For those who don't know what happened in Overlord. One day an undead supreme being named Ainz Ooal Gown appeared and and laid claim to a city within one of the biggest nations in the world, then slaughtered their whole army and announced the founding of the Sorcerer Kingdom.
Following that the most well known empire in the world announced that they acknowledged this claim and stated they're friends with the country. That said Empire later willingly submitted themselves as a vassal state to the Sorcerer Kingdom.
Later the Sorcerer Kingdim declared war on that same nation in which they took the city from, their war was endorsed by 4 different countries which sided with the Sorcerer Kingdom.
This undead king slaughtered the entire civilian population and turned the now fallen Kingdom as an example to those who'd want to antagonize the Sorcerer Kingdom.
If all of this happened in Tensura how would the world react? In this world Rimuru does exist and has already formed the Octogram and Tempest is known as the strongest country in the west. What happens next?

Ainz doesn't pick fights he knows he can't win and at the end of the day his NPC's will listen to his orders so he could definitely prevent the guardians from picking suicidal fights with nations like Tempest in general non hostile nations.

I haven't drank in two years. But this past weekend, my friend invited me to an event in the mountains which was essentially, a drinking festival. There was food and music, too, but drinks were flowing. She was in charge of the festival so I was helping out. I also had my baby with me so I spent a lot of time tending to her.
The day of the festival, my daughter finally went down for a nap, so I let my guard down and decided "I'm on vacation, I'm going to have a few beers." My best friend knows that I don't drink normally but agreed that it was an exception. So, she got me a few drinks and we were out in the sun all day and I did get tipsy, which apparently annoyed her. She is someone who gets very stressed and feels the need to take care of people - the mother of the friend group. She also is prone to exaggeration. I kept noticing she would exaggerate conversations or make things way more dramatic than they actually were; and she kept bringing up things that actually never happened (for example, she told a story and said that someone was "sobbing" when in fact, I was also there and this person was not crying...).
We had to pack up after the festival and it took me a while because I had to pack my stuff, my daughter's stuff, all while my daughter was crawling around. My friend wasn't drinking much because she was driving, but she was irritated that I wasn't packing up fast enough because I had been drinking (I asked her if I should pack up earlier in the day and she said we would have "plenty of time" after the festival, so I thought we had "plenty of time"?).
So, the next morning, she sat me down and essentially scolded me for drinking. She said "we need to have a discussion about your drinking." She said I was totally fine all day until the very end of the night when I was slow to pack up. She said I needed to be more cautious about having one too many, and I shouldn't have had that last beer that she poured me. And, she said while other people didn't notice I was a little drunk, SHE noticed. And my daughter was perfectly safe, I wasn't stumbling around or anything, I still had my wits about me, so it wasn't about that. I cried and apologized and said I felt like I was in control and didn't want my behavior to ever impact her negatively. It all feels very shaming and I'm so depressed today. I had such a nice weekend, I otherwise didn't drink, we had so much fun, and then she had to sit me down over breakfast to pretend to be my therapist. It soured the whole experience. It feels very condescending. I also wondered if this was another one of her exaggerations or blowing things out of proportion?
Obviously, I'm back on the sober train. Toot Toot. And I recognize that allowing "exceptions" still puts alcohol on a pedestal. As for story/interaction, there’s a pretty natural set up with Peko being sent to take out Ling or Ling and Fuyuhiko getting into a disagreement, or something similar. Essentially, have Ling or Fuyuhiko be threatened, so Peko/Lan Fan step in to protect them. From there they are pretty serious characters with a lot in common, so you could get some great dialogue about their duty, the ones they love and protect, and some tragedy when one dies. Debate Potential: Peko should win as far as I can tell. She scales higher in strength, and should scale much higher in speed. That’s not to say Lan Fan has no advantages though. She definitely takes versatility, arsenal, range, and likely agility/acrobatics. Skill and experience I’m less sure. But overall, while Peko doesn’t necessarily stomp, she probably does just win. |

Think about it, if few people understood manifesting people, money and possessions into their life, those things would be easier to obtain. The more people find out, realize, understand and utilize manifestation, the harder it is for us to manifest those items into our lives. Manifestation will be compared to a job interview. 100 applicants for 1 job. People are leaning about manifestation more and more and the teachings of it are more widespread because we want more and more people to understand, “hey, take care of what you have”, your job, your man/woman, your car, your home, your family. I have realized over the past like week I do not know what I am passionate about, and it has caused me to go into a depressive episode.
From the second a technical career l program walked into my middle school in 7th grade I put myself on the path to healthcare because I knew it would make my family proud, and I would feel fulfilled. Most people figure out why they like and their passion between 7th grade and senior year, but I am now realizing I did not allow myself to even figure out what I liked to do or mypassion, because I set myself up on the health care route since I was 12.
I am an only child, only grandchild, and first generation college student. And nobody in my family works in the medical field. I know it would make everyone around me happy and me feel proud if I went into it and broke the generational pattern. They have already expressed how excited they are and how proud they are of me. Though, I am unsure if it is what I want to do.
I went to college a year early, while all of my friends were waking up at noon attending their one class of the day senior year, I was waking up at 6am to go to college. I had one year of Highschool because of Covid, and I chose to let go of my second and missed out on all of the senior year memories, and chose to go to college early. If I decide to take a gap semester or year, that will all be for nothing.
Not to mention that if I change my major, my horrible high school experience will all be for nothing. My high school career was horrible because I left the district and all of my friends to pursue the technical academy (medical pathways) for four years. So if I do not purse the medical field, it will all be for nothing. Not to mention my resume is built upon the medical field. If I change my major everything I have done these fast five years will also be for nothing and not applied to the anything I do because it is all health care and science.
I am 19… I really do not know what to do. I need some advice. I truly have no idea what I want to do for a career and feel as though I have been rushing myself my whole life.
Like I am not sure if I truly want to pursue health science, or if am willing to be unhappy in order to be make my family happy and be the only child, only grandchild, firsts generation college student, and the first person in my family who goes into the medial field.

We have about 350 workstation we are supposed to be backing up everyday that they are online. (Don't ask my why, I just do what the bosses say). The problem is that these are spread across multiple companies and there's no policies for keeping machines online, so we get dozens of alerts each day that backups didn't run because the device was off.
I have a few ideas on how to reduce this, but was looking to see if anyone else had experience with it. We're using Acronis cyber protect cloud and CW RMM.
The first thing is obviously changing the backup time to middle of the day, with setting CPU priority to low. This would probably take care of the majority, but I think will still generate a fair amount of uneeded tickets.
The other option would be scheduling it to backup on startup and shutdown, but if a user doesn't shut down their computer everyday then we're SOL.
The last option I was considering uses an Acronis option that allows it to run on a certain windows event log. I figure it would be possible to set up a script that will write to the event log every 24hrs that the workstation is online, and have that trigger the backup. The downfall of this is that if our script fails for some reason then we aren't getting backups and may not know.
Anyways, would love any input you may have. Even if it's just to tell me I'm a dumbass for any of these ideas(preferably tell me why I'm a dumbass).
