2024.05.21 19:07 hulkgorgon Bachelor Degree in Psychology is useless in Psychology/Mental Health field. Pursue it ONLY if you are rich. That's the truth of the field in Malaysia.

A bachelor's degree in Psychology while interesting, only realistically provides you with 2 types of jobs.
I will be talking about the second because of the broken system right now. In order for you to be certified as a therapist officially with a license, you need a Master's degree in that particular field. So if you want to be a child psychologist, clinical psychologist, or counselor, a bachelor degree is not enough. You might get a job that is titled ABA Therapist for a special needs center but ultimately, what you are doing is babysitting special needs children for an EXTREME underpaid salary. You won't be a certified therapist and can't diagnose children. You would think the salary would be at least above average given the field is somewhat related to health but no. It is on average RM2.5K and BELOW. (Some are 1.7K). There are several reasons for this.
  1. There is no proper training or seminar in Malaysia to help you understand better on how to help these children. The centers usually only give guidance for a bit and leave you on your own.
  2. Your job is to come up with tasks that YOU think could work rather than following some form of proven methods.
  3. You are handling the kids like a caretakebabysitter. Changing diapers, potty training, etc. If you are unlucky you might even have to become a driver to go to different houses to do sessions.
  4. The amount the parent pays for one month of class is unjustifiably expensive to the point of covering 2 employees' one-month salary combined. You are severely underpaid for the amount of physical work that is involved. MAJORITY of your job can be done by SPM holders. You are just a glorified babysitter who have to write a report every weekend. Some centers, do hire SPM holders.
Yes, if you are very passionate about Psychology and love children, this seems like a perfect job. But, in Kuala Lumpur, with less than 2.5K salary per month, some go as low as 1.7K for fresh graduates, and it is impossible to survive. There is also a career growth limit as mentioned before, you can't go anywhere without a Master's degree in this field. That is 40K extra you have to pay and 2 years to study. You won't be able to get salary increments because of how the structure works, you will forever be the "therapist" in the center earning less than 2.5k. I know some of my friends who worked for less than 2k when they went full-time.
My advice. DO NOT pursue the Psychology field if you are poor. Your love for children or mental health studies is great, but it will not cover your expenses and certainly will not help you survive in Kuala Lumpur. And if you have a Psychology degree and changed your mind, go for HR or data analyst jobs that pay 3k above and still utilize skills you learned from your degree. Or pursue a Master's and don't waste time in these centers.

As you can see I have 'Kill Report' on to show me where enemies die, meaning that this player is doing something to swap his primary weapon from a Sniper Rifle to an SMG class weapon, the amount of time needed to make that change based on Respawn time alone is 5 seconds, so that's ruled out. And the time it takes to swap weapons on the death screen is also 5 seconds. But I can't stress this enough, he didn't die so him switching primary weapons shouldn't be possible. - Reported for gameplay exploit.

So my daughter is 8. We just moved to a Very Small town last yearā€¦ She has since been diagnosed with adhd, got eye glasses AND Just found out she has an Auditory Processing Disorder. This school has started talking to me as a child. Treating me as if I have some sort of disability in communication- I do not. And seems theyā€™re upset and frustrated with the needs of my child for learning here, her brother is also adhd and odd diagnosed and is in the high school Sectionā€¦stating the cost for her headphones is $1000 and I have more meetings to do with them and they want to speak with her doctor about the severity of needing it in class(this was a teachers insight to diagnosis and suggested we get the APD testing done for herā€¦). Now, theyā€™re Wanting me to drive 30 minutes away to get a paper copy of her report because they wonā€™t accept the email. I do have disabilities which prevent me from moving properly and from driving. While they donā€™t know this about me - I feel telling them would only create more reason for them to treat my entire family like special needs. Maybe a double edged sword āš”ļø sharing my personal issues with them when they are my kids teachers and not my doctors. How should I be handling this? Because I actually got upset this time and it was a bit of an argument over the phone, Iā€™m losing my patience and ability to be polite. Until this phone call Iā€™ve been calm and brushed it off when theyā€™ve tried talking down to me. Iā€™m not trying to create enemies in this school, but Iā€™m wanting the respect Iā€™ve shown to be reciprocated and itā€™s not happeningā€¦.my older son has this same issue and struggles with the adult staff members because they talk down to him and treats him like he is either too special needs to get something, or heā€™s faking it and just wants attention.

PANW fell yesterday after their Q3 earnings call. Shares slid from $323.77 at close yesterday to $300.69 at open today. Back in February after the Q2 call, the price dropped from $366 to $261. YoY the stock price is up 62%. YTD, price is up 7.75%.
EPS and revenue both beat expectations (EPS 1.25 expected, 1.32 reported. Revenue 1.97B expected, 1.98B reported). However, 4th quarter billings will be between 3.43B-3.48B compared to analysts estimates of 3.47B.
The Company's Q3 revenue rose 15% to 1.98B which is the slowest growth since 2020. Billings increased 3% which is the smallest gain since it's IPO in 2012.
Appears to be a slowdown in firewall sales across the industry but expectations are the industry will continue to grow and the need for cybersecurity will always be there.
I've made a previous post before about PANW and my sentiment continues to stay the same. I will keep adding to my position monthly as I think the executive team is top tier, they have a world class product, are in a growing industry, and will continue to integrate their product across multiple service lines which will get customers into their own ecosystem.

This Wednesday, May 22nd, we're releasing a small Battlefieldā„¢ 2042 update aimed at resolving a few minor issues that have been reported following Update 7.2.

General Improvements
  • Resolved an issue which allowed Mackay to get out of bounds on Redacted.
  • Adjusted jet spawns on Kaleidoscope to ensure a safer flight path entry.
  • Resolved an issue which allowed the Penguins to use scope attachments on weapons such as the SWS-10 on Battlefield Portal servers whilst this functionality was disabled.
  • Resolved an issue which resulted in some scopes having a low level of detail on previous Xbox One and PlayStationĀ®4 whilst inspecting them in third perspective.
  • Resolved a texturing issue on the Deep Blue King weapon cosmetic for the M5A3.
  • Class Distribution Indicators on the deployment screen when choosing a class should now correctly display the amount of individuals for each class.

2024.05.21 17:00 wosieuwu constructive dismissal? disabled discrimination?

i feel like iā€™m being forced to quit my job, but i need some advice because something feels so off about what theyā€™re asking of me. iā€™ve worked here since september, iā€™m in england. sorry this is a bit long i just wanted to make sure i had everything down. whilst most was done in conversation in person i do have me begging them to update my availability multiple times and it being ignored. i am also on LCRWA with universal credit and receive PIP. i do this job because it helps my mental health and honestly i donā€™t have enough money to live off of. some of my disabilities are BPD, CPTSD, IBS, severe social anxiety & Hemepliegic mirgaines. (suspected autism/adhd but not diagnosed)
-they donā€™t have my availability open, i take medication that makes me sleepy and i need to take it when iā€™m on a night shift to have any routine which is necessary for my mental health/disability. they told me i have to resign and they canā€™t make me redundant because theyā€™re not getting rid of my job role. -they have asked me to get a letter from my doctor proving my disability and my medication and how it affects me, they wonā€™t accept a prescription and research on the NHS website. i have to PAY for a letter from my doctor??? -theyā€™re requesting proof of my therapy as it makes me unavailable on fridays. they donā€™t ask people proof of the them going to college when it affects their availability, or my coworkers who have children- they donā€™t ask for proof of their children so they can work 9-3. iā€™m wondering if theyā€™re doing something shady to me because honestly none of it makes sense, and itā€™s making me feel uncomfortable and like they donā€™t believe that i am actually unwell. i have a PIP letter i offered to give them and an access card and they said they wonā€™t accept that as evidence. theyā€™ve also said any of my evidence of disability would be good for them (doctors notes, specialists notes, literally every evidence)
i donā€™t see why i have to provide all this information, and when i provide what should legally be classed as enough evidence. they say itā€™s not acceptable. i also was pretty sure they werenā€™t allowed to ask for it (they're not, apparently)
in one of my return to work reviews my manager questioned my absences asking why i would ever need time off because i only work 3 four hour shifts a week, to which i replied ā€œiā€™m disabled you know thatā€, and he literally said ā€œyeah, and?ā€, i explained ā€œsome days i donā€™t feel very wellā€, and he replied that ā€œwe all feel that way sometimesā€ - i had to report that to another manager and call him up on it because it made me feel so uncomfortable and judged. theyā€™ve asked what adjustments i need and did it for one shift and then it reverted back to normal. my shift manager kept putting me on for fridays (i have therapy every friday for the foreseeable future. they knew this when i applied for my role) and over my contracted hours(which i canā€™t go over because one, i canā€™t physically, and two it will potentially affect my benefits- which i canā€™t afford to lose) i have consistently messaged my availability and itā€™s been ignored multiple times and i have to keep chasing it- which makes me uncomfortable. I shouldn't have to tell someone 6 times for them to acknowledge that.
they also keep putting me on the stressful job roles - EG tills & fitting room when i've specifically asked to be on a different department because the stress is too high, and when my IBS plays up i need to immediately go to the toilet and i can't do that on those departments.
my requests for appropriate change according to my disabilities have been ignored/overruled and i no longer feel this is a workplace that cares about my needs, being judged by members of staff has made me incredibly uncomfortable and my friend - another disabled worker at my job - has gone through the exact same issues.
i have been told i only have 9 days of sick leave in a 12 month period, and if i miss another day of work i will get a warning. after that i will be fired. i feel this forces me to work in an unsafe environment, based on the hours i'm asked to do & if i have a flare up i physically cannot work. i can't live in constant fear of losing my job because i'm disabled. i asked my manager if the notice period was 2 weeks and he said yes, upon looking at my contract that is incorrect, it is 1 week and i feel like he lied to me so i still work those shifts.
i want to write a resignation letter, but also potentially take this further. i do not want to resign- but feel like i have been pushed to take action. after i hand in the resignation letter i donā€™t know if iā€™ll be able to see my managers because my anxiety will just take over. please help me šŸ˜…

I moved from NC to FL in December. I signed my lease here 12/08/2023, got utilities in my name that week, changed my license the week after and I enrolled the kids in school here first week of Jan 2024.
My ex is very abusive and rarely iniates contact with the kids except to control me so I donā€™t think he will contact or file anything in the next couple of months. He is a violent convicted felon, state and federal, has 6 warrants, well two misdemeanor warrants and 4 orders for arrest for failure to pay child support to the kids he had while cheating on me. The other warrants are for driving 105 on 30mph zone without ever having a license and having fraudulent license plates. Heā€™s still the main suspect in a local shooting. So all of that together is why I donā€™t believe heā€™d be in a hurry to file anything in our home state/county where we left. I have a clean record and have cared for the kids since birth so I just donā€™t think heā€™ll do it that quickly but..
When does our residency officially begin here? Like when is the childrenā€™s 6 months here for family court venue and which of those documents do I use to prove it? The school enrollment?
Also slightly unrelated but I recorded him apologizing for holding me at gun point and saying heā€™d sign away rights to the kids rather than let ā€œthe white manā€ tell him to take a parenting class. Which is a part of his safety plan for beating his other child at school in front of a camera and mandated reporters. However I donā€™t think heā€™ll actually give me custody because he uses the children to control me but I recorded him saying heā€™d never see them again and meet me downtown to ā€œsign away rightsā€.
I know FL is a two party consent state but I recorded those when we were both in NC, a one party state. Can I use them in family court in FL?
