A list of Min Heejin’s weird pattern of behavior

2024.05.21 19:22 sunnynukes A list of Min Heejin’s weird pattern of behavior

I think it’s a good time for people to revisit some of Min Heejin’s previous personal and creative choices. When you see everything together it no longer looks like a couple of coincidences but a long leading pattern of behavior
I’ve tried to link as much as I can. Please let me know if need to edit or add anything. None of the MV links are the actual music videos and are instead stills posted on Imgur
-Hyein’s top in the Attention MV was a bralette while the older members all were more covered up. Hyein is 14 in this MV
-In the Attention MV their laptop falls to the ground as they’re on a video call and the people on the other end watch them dance
-Minji wears a shirt that says pimp is yours
-Min Heejin does a interview with BE(ATTITUDE) Magazine. She talks a bit about Hyein
Our youngest member is cool and sophisticated. She came to my home one day and we ate together, went to the bookstore, and walked around the neighborhood, talking about this and that. There was a passing awkwardness, but after a while it felt like I was taking a walk with a friend. She’s got so many talents and amazing skills. She’s young, but thoughtful, with that innocence they have at that age. I still remember bathing in her refreshing energy, and the sublime weather only added to the effect.
-NewJeans officially releases Cookie which is filled with sexual innuendo lyrics. Their ages at this point are 18, 17, 17, 16, and 14. Cookie was written by two native English speakers.
-Min Heejin posts a picture on Instagram that includes the Histoire de Melody Nelson album by Serge Gainsbourg on display in her apartment. The album’s plot is about a middle age man who takes a 14 year old’s virginity
-Min Heejin posts a picture on Instagram of Olivia Hussey and Leonard Whiting’s nude scene from the 1968 movie Romeo and Juliet. Olivia was 15 at the time of filming and Leonard was 16. (The actors have actually sued Paramount over the nudity in this scene you can read about it here)
-Min Heejin posts several pictures that include a “Baby Brooke” picture as decoration in her apartment. Brooke Shields was extremely sexually exploited as a child
-Min Heejin posts a picture that includes a still from the 1974 film Le Farò de Padre. The IMDb page for the film. The plot is an older man plans to marry a mentally-challenged, sex-crazed, adolescent girl.
-Danielle gets styled like Mathilda from Léon the Professional. Mathilda is played by 12 year old Natalie Portman and there are many inappropriate themes/hintings between her and the titular character who was portrayed by 46 year old Jean Reno.
There are also these two posts that she made but I do not know who they are if they are also celebrities/actors. I’m also sorry for the bad screenshot quality of her Instagram posts, she has since deleted these so these screenshots are from Twitter
-Min Heejin responds to the Instagram post controversy in a interview with JoongAng Ilbo. She says that all of the pictures of minors she had on her wall were gifted to her from a couple years ago. She also says that pimp is yours and Cookie are slang.
-The music video of OMG is taking place in a mental hospital with all of the members having different mental issues.
-Haters are directly talked to at the end of the OMG MV as one of the members stops another one from writing a hate comment on Twitter and tells the other member it’s time to go. The hate comment says “Does anyone else feel uncomfortable watching the MV?”
-NewJeans gets into a controversy ahead of their ETA release as there are many similarities with a Spanish terrorist cult(Euskadi Ta Askatasuna). The teaser video said starting Mikel, Maria, and Eva which are names people connected to the cult. The release date of ETA(July 21st) was also the date of two separate cult attacks in different years.
-The MV for Cool With You stars Jung Hoyeon as a woman who follows around and falls in love with a man who is unable to see her as she is some sort of invisible entity like Eros. She is able to become human after standing naked in the rain. The 5 members of NewJeans are basically her guardian angels and have been watching over her the entire time including a scene where Hoyeon gets on top of the man as he’s sleeping
Min Heejin worked at SM Entertainment from 2002 until 2018. These are some controversial moments that she was involved in during that time at SM (please note that I did not actively follow her career at that point so if I got any information wrong please let me know)
-The Happiness MV from Red Velvet references the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki and 9/11. The MV was edited to get rid of the collage.
-Red Velvet releases Ice Cream Cake which is filled with sexual innuendos. The ages of the members at this point are 23, 21, 21, 18, and Yeri being 16.
-This photoshoot for Red Velvet’s Rookie which I personally think fetishizes the members in a Lolita style. Yeri is 17
-Shinee’s topless photoshoot for Sherlock. Jonghyun’s body had too much muscle definition so theyphotoshopped it to make his body more boyish.
-The MV for NCT Dream’s My First And Last includes the members being students who are in love with their female teacher. The members ages at this point are also 18, 17, 16, 16, 16, 15, and 15.
-The MV for NCT 127’s Fire Truck includes shooting a young looking girl with water.
-The MV for Super Junior’s Devil had a 14 year old actress
Related to the recent Kakaotalk texts that were leaked where Min Heejin calls some of the members fat - here is a predebut video of the members of NewJeans talking with Min Heejin. The girls are only eating vegetables
Min Hee Jin: How is it? Hyein: It’s so good. I think after coming here, I got used to this healthy taste. So now I like such foods. Min Hee Jin: Wow, finally something good to hear. Hyein originally liked meat, though. Hyein: Yeah. I still like meat but, well.

2024.05.21 19:21 MerkurSchroeder NDD: Target Exo 02 (22g, 90% Tungsten)

NDD: Target Exo 02 (22g, 90% Tungsten)
It was pretty clear from the start that the Exo 02 is the highlight of Target's new range, but it's also not as easy as I thought. On the setup picture with the Iron Maiden flights you actually see me using 30mm Storm Points, but whilst short stems and No.2 flights (or Velos) are currently a common theme on my front tapered darts, having kept points stock so far never raised the question if those are a length I prefer.
For the Exo 03 that was different. Despite ordering 30mm Firepoints because I couldn't find any longer ones, I've since then put on 35mm standard points anyway and searched the web up and down until I actually found a shop still offering two sets of 35mm Firepoints for almost the same price I had to pay for the single set of shorter ones before. I hope the shop is reliable, because my gut told me from the beginning I want the longer points and finger grip on the 03.
Gazing at more expensive front tapered darts like the Target 975 and what players made from it, it was of course imperative to create a smooth transition using Storm Points on the Exo 02. I like to look into the extremes, so putting on 35mm ones was the initial idea, but you might be able to tell from the two board pictures it didn't feel as perfect as it should. The third dart's points weren't always sneaking through the gap, but it wasn't easy to create the same snug groups like when the Harrows Shard90 slide and tilt for instance.
What I've noticed from the first moment though is the shark grip in the front makes more sense on the Target Exo 02 than I thought it would. Especially knowing a micro grip from the mentioned Shard90, which does help in its context, the Exo 02 do feel more like I've got more or less the same grip level all along the barrel inviting me to switch finger positions to whatever seems to create the perfect throw for the target. They probably might not have been able to achieve that with a ring grip on the taper.
Excited as I was, I've put on some 26mm Storm Points on the Exo 02 to find out it puts the dart right in line with my other front tapered darts and I can play them well, but it doesn't make it stand out either. Just that little extra going up to 30mm Storm Points makes a great change with the darts seeking for the treble on their own.
I could have stopped there, having created a nice setup for a brilliant entry level 90% tungsten Swiss Point dart whose only competitor at Target might be the Crux 02, which will cost a tenner more if not on sale. You'd have to tell me if that extra smooth section as a reference in the middle and shark grip in the rear make it worth it, but if you own it, you might not really require a rather similar barrel, even if it's weighted in even numbers this time.
What still keeps my mind busy is, if those 35mm points, as ridiculous as they make the dart look, might just require some more getting used to, as of course I've only played longer points on drop shaped or rather straight barrels so far. Especially as I've still got the Johnny Clayton 2.0 on my wishlist and as those come stock with long points, it might actually rule them out if that wouldn't work for me on a 22g Exo 02, wouldn't it? And who knows, maybe I'll soon have to repoint my existing darts instead? So I might be mounting the 35mm Storm Points again the minute after posting this. 😬
How do you like the Target Exo 02?
I know some of you love them - looking at you u/No_Seaweed7777 😁
Have a nice week and thank you for reading.
Happy darting! 🎯👍

2024.05.21 19:20 Necessary-Bet-8966 is this trauma bond? my(23F) bf(28M) of 5 years insists that all we need is a threesome/poly relationship (very long story)

I've(23F bi) been in a relationship with my boyfriend(28M cis) for over 5 years, and we have been living together for 3 years. I recently finished university and I'm unemployed, been doing the house chores since we moved together based on mutual agreement (it's our first time out of our parents house). He works for the both of us and pays for everything. (I've had jobs but not full time so I spent the money on hobbies so I didn't have to rely on him so much).
I'm a cosplayer, and I keep a separate IG account for posting and interacting. My bf has always been supportive and keeps me company at conventions because I don't have many friends and have bad social anxiety.
A while ago he too wanted to cosplay, I helped him with everything and he created a cosplay account, I started to feel insecure when he would follow cosplayers that were doing +18 content, I explained to him how this made me feel and he would brush it off saying that I too made that kind of content (I had an OF, that he encouraged me to create, and never really announced it in my socials, so I always had very few people subscribed). He unfollowed specific girls that I would tell him, but never addressed the whole issue so he kept following this type of accounts.
Eventually I grew tired and stopped nagging him with the issue, but it never left my brain, I used to compare myself to these girls and would regularly check his following to see if he followed someone new, it was consuming a large portion of my sanity. What really broke me was finding out that he was messaging (we had access to our phones) some girls and complimenting them in a sexual way, so I confronted him about it and he told me it was not a big deal, that at the end of the day the one he loves its me, and doing that was just a way of getting out of boredom.
I already had infidelity issues because earlier (2 year mark) I found out he was messaging his ex, telling her that we were in bad terms and we opened up the relationship (not true), I confronted him about this as well and now he keeps her blocked, but it left a big scar and I used to check this girl profile and stories everyday multiple times a day, I would have nightmares about him messaging her again and meeting with her for a whole 3 years.
There has been 2 main break points in our relationship, once when I found out about his ex, he told me that he was bored of our relationship (we already lived together, and had quarantine restrictions because of COVID, he worked remotely so it was us 24/7 in the same apartment) and that the was looking for excitement, then I found out that the had a secret Tinder account asking for casual sex, I never got to see the messages.
We broke up and I returned to my parents house, where he blasted my phone with messages telling me how regretful he felt, and that if I gave him another chance he would be better. I forgave him but on the condition that we shared phone's passcodes.
The second break point was when he proposed that in order for our relationship to endure this hardship we had to include a third girl (i believe they're called unicorns) because in his eyes, i asked for too much (regarding affection) and because he wasn't very affectionate a new girl could give me that. And obviously he would get to fuck us both. I rejected this strongly because I'm monogamous, and we settled that a threesome could work out, we installed dating apps to look for a girl, and to this day we haven't found anyone. Along the days of the search I started to become numb, irritated at the minimum, cried every week and started to document every little detail/behavior that was making me fall out of love. Then one day I decided that this was going nowhere, and I told him that I didn't want to do the threesome, and because it was the only thing that would fulfill him it was better that we parted ways. So we did, and I went to my parents house for the weekend to think things through. He messaged me saying that why didn't I come up with a solution for us to be together because I said nothing. I talked to my mom and she told me that relationships this long shouldn't end without exhausting every little option. She made me come back and I did.
When I came back we talked, we agreed on things. I needed to quit snapping so easily and being irritated all the time, I needed to get a job, so I began studying again so I could get back on track. I asked him to be honest and loving, that we could try the threesome but under my terms (I would manage the account). And he said that I needed to delete my OF, so I did. He overstepped multiple times before doing things that I told him not to (like creating dating profiles for the threesome, when I specifically told him that I wanted to manage that) He also confessed to subscribing to other girls +18 content and I cried in front of him like never before.
I became even more hyper vigilant, and he once again was anonymously asking inappropriate questions to cosplayers. I decided to tell him and he became defensive, telling me how TF did I found out, that I was being dramatic and it was just a playful question, and if I keep looking for things it's obvious that I'm gonna find something. I went non verbal (I have asd) and I tried to shut me in my room, he didn't allow me and asked to discuss but I had a meltdown and I told him that if he didn't want me to get into his phone we should change our phones passcodes, and he would have to delete his cosplay account, so we did.
I've been paranoid again and I started to have nightmares of him messaging other girls again, he told me he deleted all dating apps, he assured me he did. But I know it's not true and he lied to me because days ago I saw he paid a subscription to a dating app we haven't used before. I don't have the energy to talk about that anymore. I don't know why am I still here, have I lost my identity? He says he wants to travel to the office (that's on the capital city) for work because he usually meets with his colleagues, and he can't bring me because tickets are expensive. I can't help but overthink that he will cheat on me, but at the same time I try to keep a mentality that if he wants to cheat, he will, and there's nothing I could do to stop him.
I don't want you to think of me as an angel either, I have ASD and I don't take meds for my anxiety, I'm needy and sensitive, don't have many friends, I just leave the house to go shopping and occasionally meet up with girl friends so Im very boring, i dont have a lot to talk about. Recently he posted on reddit about us opening up our relationship and I think he resents me financially because of the way he talks about me. I try to give him everything I can, I serve him breakfast, lunch and dinner, sometimes I bake pastries, I try to keep the house clean (we have cats so it's hard) I wash the dishes, do the laundry, manage the pantry stock, stay in shape, I consider myself attractive and been told so, we have sex almost everyday.
It's like I'm not enough for him, but he just wants me to himself (the polyamory/threesome can only be with a girl, I have proposed that we try with a man and he says he'd feel emasculated)
I don't really know what I am searching for writing this here, give me your thoughts, am i dumb?
And I think I'm traumatized.
I've been masturbating to threesome porn videos, sometimes I imagine the cosplay girls he used to send messages to while we have sex and I get more turned on.. orz

2024.05.21 19:18 TheGoombler Oh hey, I'm not dead, and neither is GME. (A Refresher on COINTELPRO.)

GOOOOOOOOOOD MORNING SUPERSTONKERS! HAHA. It's me again. Yeah, i slipped past the defenses again to drop this off so you can all refresh yourselves on the state of FUD and disinformation in this protracted fight against the legal larcenists doing their best to try and get you to sell. Please spread this amongst the holders, the more people know the less power they have over us holders. We don't sell until we get a call from marge, and that's always been the play.
TLDR: This is a set of tactics used by the Alphabet Boys(CIA, FBI, DEA) to control and manipulate us into drama to collapse our communities and movements. And should be read in full by anyone willing and wanting to learn how these things work.
I've come to notice recently, people keep asking me to repost this for the sake of keeping the new people abreast on what needs to be done to protect the holders of GME. Beneath here will be a detailed account on what you need to be aware of in your online interactions, to avoid being taken for a fool!

COINTELPRO Techniques for dilution, misdirection and control of a internet forum..
There are several techniques for the control and manipulation of a internet forum no matter what, or who is on it. We will go over each technique and demonstrate that only a minimal number of operatives can be used to eventually and effectively gain a control of a 'uncontrolled forum.'
Technique #1 - 'FORUM SLIDING'
If a very sensitive posting of a critical nature has been posted on a forum - it can be quickly removed from public view by 'forum sliding.' In this technique a number of unrelated posts are quietly prepositioned on the forum and allowed to 'age.' Each of these misdirectional forum postings can then be called upon at will to trigger a 'forum slide.' The second requirement is that several fake accounts exist, which can be called upon, to ensure that this technique is not exposed to the public. To trigger a 'forum slide' and 'flush' the critical post out of public view it is simply a matter of logging into each account both real and fake and then 'replying' to prepositioned postings with a simple 1 or 2 line comment. This brings the unrelated postings to the top of the forum list, and the critical posting 'slides' down the front page, and quickly out of public view. Although it is difficult or impossible to censor the posting it is now lost in a sea of unrelated and unuseful postings. By this means it becomes effective to keep the readers of the forum reading unrelated and non-issue items.
Technique #2 - 'CONSENSUS CRACKING'
A second highly effective technique (which you can see in operation all the time at www.abovetopsecret.com
) is 'consensus cracking.' To develop a consensus crack, the following technique is used. Under the guise of a fake account a posting is made which looks legitimate and is towards the truth is made - but the critical point is that it has a VERY WEAK PREMISE without substantive proof to back the posting. Once this is done then under alternative fake accounts a very strong position in your favor is slowly introduced over the life of the posting. It is IMPERATIVE that both sides are initially presented, so the uninformed reader cannot determine which side is the truth. As postings and replies are made the stronger 'evidence' or disinformation in your favor is slowly 'seeded in.' Thus the uninformed reader will most like develop the same position as you, and if their position is against you their opposition to your posting will be most likely dropped. However in some cases where the forum members are highly educated and can counter your disinformation with real facts and linked postings, you can then 'abort' the consensus cracking by initiating a 'forum slide.'
Technique #3 - 'TOPIC DILUTION'
Topic dilution is not only effective in forum sliding it is also very useful in keeping the forum readers on unrelated and non-productive issues. This is a critical and useful technique to cause a 'RESOURCE BURN.' By implementing continual and non-related postings that distract and disrupt (trolling ) the forum readers they are more effectively stopped from anything of any real productivity. If the intensity of gradual dilution is intense enough, the readers will effectively stop researching and simply slip into a 'gossip mode.' In this state they can be more easily misdirected away from facts towards uninformed conjecture and opinion. The less informed they are the more effective and easy it becomes to control the entire group in the direction that you would desire the group to go in. It must be stressed that a proper assessment of the psychological capabilities and levels of education is first determined of the group to determine at what level to 'drive in the wedge.' By being too far off topic too quickly it may trigger censorship by a forum moderator.
Technique #4 - 'INFORMATION COLLECTION'
Information collection is also a very effective method to determine the psychological level of the forum members, and to gather intelligence that can be used against them. In this technique in a light and positive environment a 'show you mine so me yours' posting is initiated. From the number of replies and the answers that are provided much statistical information can be gathered. An example is to post your 'favorite weapon' and then encourage other members of the forum to showcase what they have. In this matter it can be determined by reverse proration what percentage of the forum community owns a firearm, and or a illegal weapon. This same method can be used by posing as one of the form members and posting your favorite 'technique of operation.' From the replies various methods that the group utilizes can be studied and effective methods developed to stop them from their activities.
Technique #5 - 'ANGER TROLLING'
Statistically, there is always a percentage of the forum posters who are more inclined to violence. In order to determine who these individuals are, it is a requirement to present a image to the forum to deliberately incite a strong psychological reaction. From this the most violent in the group can be effectively singled out for reverse IP location and possibly local enforcement tracking. To accomplish this only requires posting a link to a video depicting a local police officer massively abusing his power against a very innocent individual. Statistically of the million or so police officers in America there is always one or two being caught abusing there powers and the taping of the activity can be then used for intelligence gathering purposes - without the requirement to 'stage' a fake abuse video. This method is extremely effective, and the more so the more abusive the video can be made to look. Sometimes it is useful to 'lead' the forum by replying to your own posting with your own statement of violent intent, and that you 'do not care what the authorities think!!' inflammation. By doing this and showing no fear it may be more effective in getting the more silent and self-disciplined violent intent members of the forum to slip and post their real intentions. This can be used later in a court of law during prosecution.
Technique #6 - 'GAINING FULL CONTROL'
It is important to also be harvesting and continually maneuvering for a forum moderator position. Once this position is obtained, the forum can then be effectively and quietly controlled by deleting unfavourable postings - and one can eventually steer the forum into complete failure and lack of interest by the general public. This is the 'ultimate victory' as the forum is no longer participated with by the general public and no longer useful in maintaining their freedoms. Depending on the level of control you can obtain, you can deliberately steer a forum into defeat by censoring postings, deleting memberships, flooding, and or accidentally taking the forum offline. By this method the forum can be quickly killed. However it is not always in the interest to kill a forum as it can be converted into a 'honey pot' gathering center to collect and misdirect newcomers and from this point be completely used for your control for your agenda purposes.
CONCLUSION
Remember these techniques are only effective if the forum participants DO NOT KNOW ABOUT THEM. Once they are aware of these techniques the operation can completely fail, and the forum can become uncontrolled. At this point other avenues must be considered such as initiating a false legal precidence to simply have the forum shut down and taken offline. This is not desirable as it then leaves the enforcement agencies unable to track the percentage of those in the population who always resist attempts for control against them. Many other techniques can be utilized and developed by the individual and as you develop further techniques of infiltration and control it is imperative to share then with HQ.

Twenty-Five Rules of Disinformation
Note: The first rule and last five (or six, depending on situation) rules are generally not directly within the ability of the traditional disinfo artist to apply. These rules are generally used more directly by those at the leadership, key players, or planning level of the criminal conspiracy or conspiracy to cover up.
1. Hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil. Regardless of what you know, don't discuss it -- especially if you are a public figure, news anchor, etc. If it's not reported, it didn't happen, and you never have to deal with the issues.
2. Become incredulous and indignant. Avoid discussing key issues and instead focus on side issues which can be used show the topic as being critical of some otherwise sacrosanct group or theme. This is also known as the 'How dare you!' gambit.
3. Create rumor mongers. Avoid discussing issues by describing all charges, regardless of venue or evidence, as mere rumors and wild accusations. Other derogatory terms mutually exclusive of truth may work as well. This method which works especially well with a silent press, because the only way the public can learn of the facts are through such 'arguable rumors'. If you can associate the material with the Internet, use this fact to certify it a 'wild rumor' from a 'bunch of kids on the Internet' which can have no basis in fact.
4. Use a straw man. Find or create a seeming element of your opponent's argument which you can easily knock down to make yourself look good and the opponent to look bad. Either make up an issue you may safely imply exists based on your interpretation of the opponent/opponent arguments/situation, or select the weakest aspect of the weakest charges. Amplify their significance and destroy them in a way which appears to debunk all the charges, real and fabricated alike, while actually avoiding discussion of the real issues.
5. Sidetrack opponents with name calling and ridicule. This is also known as the primary 'attack the messenger' ploy, though other methods qualify as variants of that approach. Associate opponents with unpopular titles such as 'kooks', 'right-wing', 'liberal', 'left-wing', 'terrorists', 'conspiracy buffs', 'radicals', 'militia', 'racists', 'religious fanatics', 'sexual deviates', and so forth. This makes others shrink from support out of fear of gaining the same label, and you avoid dealing with issues.
6. Hit and Run. In any public forum, make a brief attack of your opponent or the opponent position and then scamper off before an answer can be fielded, or simply ignore any answer. This works extremely well in Internet and letters-to-the-editor environments where a steady stream of new identities can be called upon without having to explain criticism, reasoning -- simply make an accusation or other attack, never discussing issues, and never answering any subsequent response, for that would dignify the opponent's viewpoint.
7. Question motives. Twist or amplify any fact which could be taken to imply that the opponent operates out of a hidden personal agenda or other bias. This avoids discussing issues and forces the accuser on the defensive.
8. Invoke authority. Claim for yourself or associate yourself with authority and present your argument with enough 'jargon' and 'minutia' to illustrate you are 'one who knows', and simply say it isn't so without discussing issues or demonstrating concretely why or citing sources.
9. Play Dumb. No matter what evidence or logical argument is offered, avoid discussing issues except with denials they have any credibility, make any sense, provide any proof, contain or make a point, have logic, or support a conclusion. Mix well for maximum effect.
10. Associate opponent charges with old news. A derivative of the straw man -- usually, in any large-scale matter of high visibility, someone will make charges early on which can be or were already easily dealt with - a kind of investment for the future should the matter not be so easily contained.) Where it can be foreseen, have your own side raise a straw man issue and have it dealt with early on as part of the initial contingency plans. Subsequent charges, regardless of validity or new ground uncovered, can usually then be associated with the original charge and dismissed as simply being a rehash without need to address current issues -- so much the better where the opponent is or was involved with the original source.
11. Establish and rely upon fall-back positions. Using a minor matter or element of the facts, take the 'high road' and 'confess' with candor that some innocent mistake, in hindsight, was made -- but that opponents have seized on the opportunity to blow it all out of proportion and imply greater criminalities which, 'just isn't so.' Others can reinforce this on your behalf, later, and even publicly 'call for an end to the nonsense' because you have already 'done the right thing.' Done properly, this can garner sympathy and respect for 'coming clean' and 'owning up' to your mistakes without addressing more serious issues.
12. Enigmas have no solution. Drawing upon the overall umbrella of events surrounding the crime and the multitude of players and events, paint the entire affair as too complex to solve. This causes those otherwise following the matter to begin to lose interest more quickly without having to address the actual issues.
13. Alice in Wonderland Logic. Avoid discussion of the issues by reasoning backwards or with an apparent deductive logic which forbears any actual material fact.
14. Demand complete solutions. Avoid the issues by requiring opponents to solve the crime at hand completely, a ploy which works best with issues qualifying for rule 10.
15. Fit the facts to alternate conclusions. This requires creative thinking unless the crime was planned with contingency conclusions in place.
16. Vanish evidence and witnesses. If it does not exist, it is not fact, and you won't have to address the issue.
17. Change the subject. Usually in connection with one of the other ploys listed here, find a way to side-track the discussion with abrasive or controversial comments in hopes of turning attention to a new, more manageable topic. This works especially well with companions who can 'argue' with you over the new topic and polarize the discussion arena in order to avoid discussing more key issues.
18. Emotionalize, Antagonize, and Goad Opponents. If you can't do anything else, chide and taunt your opponents and draw them into emotional responses which will tend to make them look foolish and overly motivated, and generally render their material somewhat less coherent. Not only will you avoid discussing the issues in the first instance, but even if their emotional response addresses the issue, you can further avoid the issues by then focusing on how 'sensitive they are to criticism.'
19. Ignore proof presented, demand impossible proofs. This is perhaps a variant of the 'play dumb' rule. Regardless of what material may be presented by an opponent in public forums, claim the material irrelevant and demand proof that is impossible for the opponent to come by (it may exist, but not be at his disposal, or it may be something which is known to be safely destroyed or withheld, such as a murder weapon.) In order to completely avoid discussing issues, it may be required that you to categorically deny and be critical of media or books as valid sources, deny that witnesses are acceptable, or even deny that statements made by government or other authorities have any meaning or relevance.
20. False evidence. Whenever possible, introduce new facts or clues designed and manufactured to conflict with opponent presentations -- as useful tools to neutralize sensitive issues or impede resolution. This works best when the crime was designed with contingencies for the purpose, and the facts cannot be easily separated from the fabrications.
21. Call a Grand Jury, Special Prosecutor, or other empowered investigative body. Subvert the (process) to your benefit and effectively neutralize all sensitive issues without open discussion. Once convened, the evidence and testimony are required to be secret when properly handled. For instance, if you own the prosecuting attorney, it can insure a Grand Jury hears no useful evidence and that the evidence is sealed and unavailable to subsequent investigators. Once a favorable verdict is achieved, the matter can be considered officially closed. Usually, this technique is applied to find the guilty innocent, but it can also be used to obtain charges when seeking to frame a victim.
22. Manufacture a new truth. Create your own expert(s), group(s), author(s), leader(s) or influence existing ones willing to forge new ground via scientific, investigative, or social research or testimony which concludes favorably. In this way, if you must actually address issues, you can do so authoritatively.
23. Create bigger distractions. If the above does not seem to be working to distract from sensitive issues, or to prevent unwanted media coverage of unstoppable events such as trials, create bigger news stories (or treat them as such) to distract the multitudes.
24. Silence critics. If the above methods do not prevail, consider removing opponents from circulation by some definitive solution so that the need to address issues is removed entirely. This can be by their death, arrest and detention, blackmail or destruction of their character by release of blackmail information, or merely by destroying them financially, emotionally, or severely damaging their health.
25. Vanish. If you are a key holder of secrets or otherwise overly illuminated and you think the heat is getting too hot, to avoid the issues, vacate the kitchen.
_______________________________________________________________________
Eight Traits of the Disinformationalist
1) Avoidance. They never actually discuss issues head-on or provide constructive input, generally avoiding citation of references or credentials. Rather, they merely imply this, that, and the other. Virtually everything about their presentation implies their authority and expert knowledge in the matter without any further justification for credibility.
2) Selectivity. They tend to pick and choose opponents carefully, either applying the hit-and-run approach against mere commentators supportive of opponents, or focusing heavier attacks on key opponents who are known to directly address issues. Should a commentator become argumentative with any success, the focus will shift to include the commentator as well.
3) Coincidental. They tend to surface suddenly and somewhat coincidentally with a new controversial topic with no clear prior record of participation in general discussions in the particular public arena involved. They likewise tend to vanish once the topic is no longer of general concern. They were likely directed or elected to be there for a reason, and vanish with the reason.
4) Teamwork. They tend to operate in self-congratulatory and complementary packs or teams. Of course, this can happen naturally in any public forum, but there will likely be an ongoing pattern of frequent exchanges of this sort where professionals are involved. Sometimes one of the players will infiltrate the opponent camp to become a source for straw man or other tactics designed to dilute opponent presentation strength.
5) Anti-conspiratorial. They almost always have disdain for 'conspiracy theorists' and, usually, for those who in any way believe JFK was not killed by LHO. Ask yourself why, if they hold such disdain for conspiracy theorists, do they focus on defending a single topic discussed in a NG focusing on conspiracies? One might think they would either be trying to make fools of everyone on every topic, or simply ignore the group they hold in such disdain. Or, one might more rightly conclude they have an ulterior motive for their actions in going out of their way to focus as they do.
6) Artificial Emotions. An odd kind of 'artificial' emotionalism and an unusually thick skin -- an ability to persevere and persist even in the face of overwhelming criticism and unacceptance. This likely stems from intelligence community training that, no matter how condemning the evidence, deny everything, and never become emotionally involved or reactive. The net result for a disinfo artist is that emotions can seem artificial.
Most people, if responding in anger, for instance, will express their animosity throughout their rebuttal. But disinfo types usually have trouble maintaining the 'image' and are hot and cold with respect to pretended emotions and their usually more calm or unemotional communications style. It's just a job, and they often seem unable to 'act their role in character' as well in a communications medium as they might be able in a real face-to-face conversation/confrontation. You might have outright rage and indignation one moment, ho-hum the next, and more anger later -- an emotional yo-yo.
With respect to being thick-skinned, no amount of criticism will deter them from doing their job, and they will generally continue their old disinfo patterns without any adjustments to criticisms of how obvious it is that they play that game -- where a more rational individual who truly cares what others think might seek to improve their communications style, substance, and so forth, or simply give up.
7) Inconsistent. There is also a tendency to make mistakes which betray their true self/motives. This may stem from not really knowing their topic, or it may be somewhat 'freudian', so to speak, in that perhaps they really root for the side of truth deep within.
I have noted that often, they will simply cite contradictory information which neutralizes itself and the author. For instance, one such player claimed to be a Navy pilot, but blamed his poor communicating skills (spelling, grammar, incoherent style) on having only a grade-school education. I'm not aware of too many Navy pilots who don't have a college degree. Another claimed no knowledge of a particular topic/situation but later claimed first-hand knowledge of it.
8) Time Constant. Recently discovered, with respect to News Groups, is the response time factor. There are three ways this can be seen to work, especially when the government or other empowered player is involved in a cover up operation:
a) ANY NG posting by a targeted proponent for truth can result in an IMMEDIATE response. The government and other empowered players can afford to pay people to sit there and watch for an opportunity to do some damage. SINCE DISINFO IN A NG ONLY WORKS IF THE READER SEES IT - FAST RESPONSE IS CALLED FOR, or the visitor may be swayed towards truth.
b) When dealing in more direct ways with a disinformationalist, such as email, DELAY IS CALLED FOR - there will usually be a minimum of a 48-72 hour delay. This allows a sit-down team discussion on response strategy for best effect, and even enough time to 'get permission' or instruction from a formal chain of command.
c) In the NG example 1) above, it will often ALSO be seen that bigger guns are drawn and fired after the same 48-72 hours delay - the team approach in play. This is especially true when the targeted truth seeker or their comments are considered more important with respect to potential to reveal truth. Thus, a serious truth sayer will be attacked twice for the same sin.

How to Spot a Spy (Cointelpro Agent)
One way to neutralize a potential activist is to get them to be in a group that does all the wrong things. Why?
1) The message doesn't get out.
2) A lot of time is wasted
3) The activist is frustrated and discouraged
4) Nothing good is accomplished.
FBI and Police Informers and Infiltrators will infest any group and they have phoney activist organizations established.
Their purpose is to prevent any real movement for justice or eco-peace from developing in this country.
Agents come in small, medium or large. They can be of any ethnic background. They can be male or female.
The actual size of the group or movement being infiltrated is irrelevant. It is the potential the movement has for becoming large which brings on the spies and saboteurs.
This booklet lists tactics agents use to slow things down, foul things up, destroy the movement and keep tabs on activists.
It is the agent's job to keep the activist from quitting such a group, thus keeping him/her under control.
In some situations, to get control, the agent will tell the activist:
[Here, I have added the psychological reasons as to WHY this maneuver works to control people]
This invites guilty feelings. Many people can be controlled by guilt. The agents begin relationships with activists behind a well-developed mask of "dedication to the cause." Because of their often declared dedication, (and actions designed to prove this), when they criticize the activist, he or she - being truly dedicated to the movement - becomes convinced that somehow, any issues are THEIR fault. This is because a truly dedicated person tends to believe that everyone has a conscience and that nobody would dissimulate and lie like that "on purpose." It's amazing how far agents can go in manipulating an activist because the activist will constantly make excuses for the agent who regularly declares their dedication to the cause. Even if they do, occasionally, suspect the agent, they will pull the wool over their own eyes by rationalizing: "they did that unconsciously... they didn't really mean it... I can help them by being forgiving and accepting " and so on and so forth.
The agent will tell the activist:
This is designed to enhance the activist's self-esteem. His or her narcissistic admiration of his/her own activist/altruistic intentions increase as he or she identifies with and consciously admires the altruistic declarations of the agent which are deliberately set up to mirror those of the activist.
This is "malignant pseudo identification." It is the process by which the agent consciously imitates or simulates a certain behavior to foster the activist's identification with him/her, thus increasing the activist's vulnerability to exploitation. The agent will simulate the more subtle self-concepts of the activist.
Activists and those who have altruistic self-concepts are most vulnerable to malignant pseudo identification especially during work with the agent when the interaction includes matter relating to their competency, autonomy, or knowledge.
The goal of the agent is to increase the activist's general empathy for the agent through pseudo-identification with the activist's self-concepts.
The most common example of this is the agent who will compliment the activist for his competency or knowledge or value to the movement. On a more subtle level, the agent will simulate affects and mannerisms of the activist which promotes identification via mirroring and feelings of "twinship". It is not unheard of for activists, enamored by the perceived helpfulness and competence of a good agent, to find themselves considering ethical violations and perhaps, even illegal behavior, in the service of their agent/handler.
The activist's "felt quality of perfection" [self-concept] is enhanced, and a strong empathic bond is developed with the agent through his/her imitation and simulation of the victim's own narcissistic investments. [self-concepts] That is, if the activist knows, deep inside, their own dedication to the cause, they will project that onto the agent who is "mirroring" them.
The activist will be deluded into thinking that the agent shares this feeling of identification and bonding. In an activist/social movement setting, the adversarial roles that activists naturally play vis a vis the establishment/government, fosters ongoing processes of intrapsychic splitting so that "twinship alliances" between activist and agent may render whole sectors or reality testing unavailable to the activist. They literally "lose touch with reality."
Activists who deny their own narcissistic investments [do not have a good idea of their own self-concepts and that they ARE concepts] and consciously perceive themselves (accurately, as it were) to be "helpers" endowed with a special amount of altruism are exceedingly vulnerable to the affective (emotional) simulation of the accomplished agent.
Empathy is fostered in the activist through the expression of quite visible affects. The presentation of tearfulness, sadness, longing, fear, remorse, and guilt, may induce in the helper-oriented activist a strong sense of compassion, while unconsciously enhancing the activist's narcissistic investment in self as the embodiment of goodness.
The agent's expresssion of such simulated affects may be quite compelling to the observer and difficult to distinguish from deep emotion.
It can usually be identified by two events, however:
First, the activist who has analyzed his/her own narcissistic roots and is aware of his/her own potential for being "emotionally hooked," will be able to remain cool and unaffected by such emotional outpourings by the agent.
As a result of this unaffected, cool, attitude, the Second event will occur: The agent will recompensate much too quickly following such an affective expression leaving the activist with the impression that "the play has ended, the curtain has fallen," and the imposture, for the moment, has finished. The agent will then move quickly to another activist/victim.
The fact is, the movement doesn't need leaders, it needs MOVERS. "Follow the leader" is a waste of time.
A good agent will want to meet as often as possible. He or she will talk a lot and say little. One can expect an onslaught of long, unresolved discussions.
Some agents take on a pushy, arrogant, or defensive manner:
1) To disrupt the agenda
2) To side-track the discussion
3) To interrupt repeatedly
4) To feign ignorance
5) To make an unfounded accusation against a person.
Calling someone a racist, for example. This tactic is used to discredit a person in the eyes of all other group members.
Saboteurs
Some saboteurs pretend to be activists. She or he will ....
1) Write encyclopedic flyers (in the present day, websites)
2) Print flyers in English only.
3) Have demonstrations in places where no one cares.
4) Solicit funding from rich people instead of grass roots support
5) Display banners with too many words that are confusing.
6) Confuse issues.
7) Make the wrong demands.
8) Compromise the goal.
9) Have endless discussions that waste everyone's time. The agent may accompany the endless discussions with drinking, pot smoking or other amusement to slow down the activist's work.
Provocateurs
1) Want to establish "leaders" to set them up for a fall in order to stop the movement.
2) Suggest doing foolish, illegal things to get the activists in trouble.
3) Encourage militancy.
4) Want to taunt the authorities.
5) Attempt to make the activist compromise their values.
6) Attempt to instigate violence. Activism ought to always be non-violent.
7) Attempt to provoke revolt among people who are ill-prepared to deal with the reaction of the authorities to such violence.
Informants
1) Want everyone to sign up and sing in and sign everything.
2) Ask a lot of questions (gathering data).
3) Want to know what events the activist is planning to attend.
4) Attempt to make the activist defend him or herself to identify his or her beliefs, goals, and level of commitment.
Recruiting
Legitimate activists do not subject people to hours of persuasive dialog. Their actions, beliefs, and goals speak for themselves.
Groups that DO recruit are missionaries, military, and fake political parties or movements set up by agents.
Surveillance
ALWAYS assume that you are under surveillance.
At this point, if you are NOT under surveillance, you are not a very good activist!
Scare Tactics
They use them.
Such tactics include slander, defamation, threats, getting close to disaffected or minimally committed fellow activists to persuade them (via psychological tactics described above) to turn against the movement and give false testimony against their former compatriots. They will plant illegal substances on the activist and set up an arrest; they will plant false information and set up "exposure," they will send incriminating letters [emails] in the name of the activist; and more; they will do whatever society will allow.
This booklet in no way covers all the ways agents use to sabotage the lives of sincere an dedicated activists.
If an agent is "exposed," he or she will be transferred or replaced.
COINTELPRO is still in operation today under a different code name. It is no longer placed on paper where it can be discovered through the freedom of information act.
The FBI counterintelligence program's stated purpose: To expose, disrupt, misdirect, discredit, and otherwise neutralize individuals who the FBI categorize as opposed to the National Interests. "National Security" means the FBI's security from the people ever finding out the vicious things it does in violation of people's civil liberties.

Seventeen Techniques for Truth Suppression
Strong, credible allegations of high-level criminal activity can bring down a government. When the government lacks an effective, fact-based defense, other techniques must be employed. The success of these techniques depends heavily upon a cooperative, compliant press and a mere token opposition party.
1. Dummy up. If it's not reported, if it's not news, it didn't happen.
2. Wax indignant. This is also known as the "How dare you?" gambit.
3. Characterize the charges as "rumors" or, better yet, "wild rumors." If, in spite of the news blackout, the public is still able to learn about the suspicious facts, it can only be through "rumors." (If they tend to believe the "rumors" it must be because they are simply "paranoid" or "hysterical.")
4. Knock down straw men. Deal only with the weakest aspects of the weakest charges. Even better, create your own straw men. Make up wild rumors (or plant false stories) and give them lead play when you appear to debunk all the charges, real and fanciful alike.
5. Call the skeptics names like "conspiracy theorist," "nutcase," "ranter," "kook," "crackpot," and, of course, "rumor monger." Be sure, too, to use heavily loaded verbs and adjectives when characterizing their charges and defending the "more reasonable" government and its defenders. You must then carefully avoid fair and open debate with any of the people you have thus maligned. For insurance, set up your own "skeptics" to shoot down.
6. Impugn motives. Attempt to marginalize the critics by suggesting strongly that they are not really interested in the truth but are simply pursuing a partisan political agenda or are out to make money (compared to over-compensated adherents to the government line who, presumably, are not).
7. Invoke authority. Here the controlled press and the sham opposition can be very useful.
8. Dismiss the charges as "old news."
9. Come half-clean. This is also known as "confession and avoidance" or "taking the limited hangout route." This way, you create the impression of candor and honesty while you admit only to relatively harmless, less-than-criminal "mistakes." This stratagem often requires the embrace of a fall-back position quite different from the one originally taken. With effective damage control, the fall-back position need only be peddled by stooge skeptics to carefully limited markets.
10. Characterize the crimes as impossibly complex and the truth as ultimately unknowable.
11. Reason backward, using the deductive method with a vengeance. With thoroughly rigorous deduction, troublesome evidence is irrelevant. E.g. We have a completely free press. If evidence exists that the Vince Foster "suicide" note was forged, they would have reported it. They haven't reported it so there is no such evidence. Another variation on this theme involves the likelihood of a conspiracy leaker and a press who would report the leak.
12. Require the skeptics to solve the crime completely. E.g. If Foster was murdered, who did it and why?
13. Change the subject. This technique includes creating and/or publicizing distractions.
14. Lightly report incriminating facts, and then make nothing of them. This is sometimes referred to as "bump and run" reporting.
15. Baldly and brazenly lie. A favorite way of doing this is to attribute the "facts" furnished the public to a plausible-sounding, but anonymous, source.
16. Expanding further on numbers 4 and 5, have your own stooges "expose" scandals and champion popular causes. Their job is to pre-empt real opponents and to play 99-yard football. A variation is to pay rich people for the job who will pretend to spend their own money.
17. Flood the Internet with agents. This is the answer to the question, "What could possibly motivate a person to spend hour upon hour on Internet news groups defending the government and/or the press and harassing genuine critics?" Don t the authorities have defenders enough in all the newspapers, magazines, radio, and television? One would think refusing to print critical letters and screening out serious callers or dumping them from radio talk shows would be control enough, but, obviously, it is not.

2024.05.21 19:18 darksydex3226 An idea to lean into Yone's "Assassin" role

Disclaimer: I don't claim to be an expert or that this build will be any good, or that there aren't better item options, etc. I'm sure others can come up with something more viable. I just thought it was fun to think of Yone in a different way due to recent changes.
Thanks for your time.
Electrocute Yone
According to his character profile on the LoL website, Yone is an Assassin. I was thinking of ways to lean into this role due to the recent changes.
This Yone isn't looking for 3v1s vs the beefy boys, but instead looking to use clever angles, vision, and his dash-heavy tools for successful roams, and wreaking havoc on the back line during intense team fights, similar to Zed. Goes without saying, but I'm thinking with mid lane in mind. Sadly this build is way more team dependent, as it requires them to engage and eat CD timers.
Let's talk about the Electrocute Keystone. It doesn't scale well, but as we know Yone does, so this rune might be the answer to make up for poor early game. It's easy to activate as Yone can confirm a 3 hit combo with little to no effort. Utilizing this might be what he needs to keep his enemy laner on their toes or god forbid snowball a lead.
For the 3 primary runes, I'm looking at Sudden Impact. Yone has a kit full of dashes and blinks, and bushes are a big part of the game plan too. I'm also looking at Taste of Blood, but unsure. Perhaps if your opponent is a beefier mid lane like Galio this might be worth a try, but for the sake of this concept, I'm sticking with SI, but I can't rule out ToB, I think both are worth exploring.
Eyeball collector is obvious.
The third row is also worth exploring, I think Bounty is nice to scale faster, but ultimate hunter seems like a go-to choice, and even relentless hunter might not be awful for roams, sidelaning, and positioning. For now we'll go with Ultimate, but I feel like all 3 could be an option depending on enemy comp and what you're trying to accomplish on a game to game basis.
For the second tree, I am looking at Legend: Alacrity and Coup De Grace. These are consistent choices you'd run with a Yellow Keystone, might as well have them.
For tiny runes, Attack Speed, Adaptive Force, and matchup dependent for the third row, with perhaps the base health being a go-to choice for healthier trading and farming early, but with so much CC in the game, and it being our worst enemy, I think it's tenacity in most cases.
For the first item, I'm not going to break the mold. I think Zerker Greaves are still the prime choice. We need AD in our next item, so a recurve bow item is probably the best bet, sadly. I was looking at Bork, but there's also Kraken Slayer. This can add more burst damage, so I think this is it, but Bork also makes a great case with sustain and a slow effect for combo confirms. I'm on the fence about which one to take, but definitely one of the two. At least there's some build variance, perhaps KS into favorable and Bork otherwise. I can't recommend Wits End due to lack of AD, but that tenacity sure does look nice.
Now we desperately need crit, and a way to E back to our body before being killed, so I'm looking at the Shieldbow. I think, if you are ahead (by some miracle) an IE is the pick, but let's assume this is real life and you're not ahead. Playing around your Shieldbow CD will be crucial, and I wouldn't engage skirmishes/team fights without it unless circumstances are favorable (big CDs down, squishy on opposite side of the map of entire team and pushed past river, etc).
Item 4 is IE for sicko mode burst and you'll be able to assist your team in fighting frontliners after getting squishy kills... if you don't need to run off bloody and beaten. I think times like that'll be few and far between, but with this item you should be able to easily dispatch the backline and run away with a good team engage followed by your jump scare ambush.
For a 5th item, I think the Bloodthirster looks solid. It adds a lot of AD, well needed sustain (especially if you're Borkless), and it's another shield on top of your other shields. However, and hear me out... if you are having trouble recalling E due to CC, take a look at the Mercurial Scimitar. It comes with AD, Lifesteal, MR, and a unique active that ensures you can recast E. I'd say it's a good "training wheels" item if you aren't great at focusing on enemy CDs and dodging abilities.
The final item, the variable slot! I'm not sure how viable GA is because when you're jumping the backline all the Frontline has to do is back pedal from the teamfight and take you out after coming out of stasis, with that being said, if you went BT, Merc Scimitar might be good, and vice versa. I'm also thinking a Collector might not be bad for easier secures, but probably overkill. If the team has heavy healing there's the Mortals Reminder, which comes with a lot of components we like anyway. Lord doms for heavy armor, or a Spirit Visage for heavy AP as well as complementing your lifesteal and shields. If you need armor I think Death Dance makes a case with AD as well as a useful passive that can get you out of a sticky on takedowns. I haven't thought this part out too hard if I'm being honest, I feel like there's a lot of good cases to be made for the variable slot, and I'm not great when it comes to itemizing and synergies.
Clearing vision is paramount for successful ambushes, so be sure to have a pink ward and scanner handy in most scenarios.
Thanks for your time, and let me know if you gave it a try. I play on the phone exclusively now, and thankfully we still have LT, but I'm considering trying this build concept for fun in norms....
And to be prepared for when the inevitable day of reckoning comes.

2024.05.21 19:17 Ok_Requirement_5651 im marrying the guy my ex-girlfriend cheated on me with

i know this sounds crazy, but it womt be as crazy as you think when you read the story.
my ex-girlfirend of 3 years cheated on me right after she moved countries (guess it was the distance), it fucked me up and even when i (biggest mistake of my life btw) gave her another chance, she did it again with the SAME guy. im not going to talk so much about how much it hurt, but it was safe to say it was the worst pain in my life.
they guy we’ll call him brad, brad thought she was his girlfriend too, he even lived with her for the 9 months they were together, but he never knew about me, as soon as he did, he made his best efforts to contact me, and he did, told me that she lied, even when she admitted to cheating, she lied about how many times she had sex, and lied about basically everything, and that she’s a compulsive liar and lies about tiny things to his mom from what he saw.
i confornted her, “alexa, did you do this and that?” after pushing and pushing, she fessed up even after trying to make me feel bad for bringing it up again, and even when she fessed up she said “its not like that.. we didnt have sex again, we were about to but i stopped”, i went and told brad that, he said “PFFFT” and i went back to her and told her i have solid proof of what she did (bluffing but it worked), then she fessed up, everything, including that she raped brad, and that she physically assaulted him and was pushy for him to have sex with her every single time. she sounded different, almost like a sociopath, no.. she IS a sociopath, considering she started cheating right after i buried my dad.
the first time i found out she cheated, i was so extremely hurt, the second time? i surprisingly moved on in three days, and why is that? because me and brad became best buddies, he’d tell me about all these crazy stories alexa did, and i’d be like “YOOOO SHE DID THE SAME TO ME!”, and we sort of bonded on being victims of the same abuser. we both moved on, and i just.. i dont feel that sick feeling in my stomach anymore, i dont feel hurt, it feels so good, because the first time around it took me 3 months to BEGIN healing even.
brad suggested he brings me to america, since opportunity there is better than where im from, i told him “honestly, i’d go on a paddleboat if i had to”, and he asked if im willing to do anything for it, i said yes, and he said “hear me out, let’s get married”.
obviously we’re not in love, but the idea that there’s a chance i end up marrying HIM is so funny to me, this story lacks a lot of details because i already ranted about it a million times, and this time? im not hurt enough to be complaining, this is the first funny post about what happened that i made in the last year.
if you’re curious about anything, go ahead and ask me, im alllll experienced about falling in love with an abusing sociopath rapist.

2024.05.21 19:17 jdfreeman1990 Petty Librarian Strikes Back

Hello Potato Clan!
Wanted to share another library story that happened literally yesterday.
There is this woman who has started coming in to the library. For a visual, imagine if the girl who was the pretty girl in high school ate a beach ball. All the entitlement, but nothing to back it up with.
I am fairly certain her entire mission in life is to see how many of our minor violations she can break before we throw her out. And I’ll happily throw my back out tossing her to the curb.
Originally, she would fall asleep in the library. Like everywhere. She fell asleep at tables, on the soft seating, in the bathroom I’m pretty sure. Which is a no-no.
Yes, I know other libraries can and do allow patrons to fall asleep in their buildings. However, because of some past incidents of potential to actual overdose, we would rather patrons not fall asleep. We usually ask them to get some fresh air before we eventually have to ask them to leave. Not my rule, but you have to follow it.
Recently, she has started getting snippy with my security staff. They are usually the ones who wake her up. I have woken her up twice myself, one time because I could hear her snoring outside of my office. She has called them stalkers, following her, and harassing her.
Ma’am, you are breaking the rules.
It’s not harassment if you aren’t behaving.
You also will pull your jacket hood over your head and lean down on the table looking as if you are asleep.
Help me, help you.
Yesterday, she came in and dropped her stuff on one of our tables. Sometime later, one of the security guards came up to me and said, “hey, I’m pretty sure that one patron left the building and left her stuff.”
Sure enough, I checked back on the security cameras and she got up, asked another patron to watch her stuff, and left the building. Not only the building, the property. Got on her little scooter and putt putted away.
This is a violation of our rules. You cannot leave your personal property and expect staff or patrons to look after it or have it block access for other patrons. I am surely not keeping an eye on your stuff. Granted, I saw what she left behind. Even the desperate would be like, “I can do better.” But it’s the principle, damn it!
I went over to talk to the guy she spoke with and asked if he knew her and what not. Que the Mariah Carey, “I don’t know her.” This man threw her under several busses in acknowledging how much he did not know who she was. It was actually slightly funny.
She’d been gone for OVER an hour before I finally asked the branch manager if I had permission to put her stuff near the lost and found. He happily agreed. It’s nice when my petty is permitted.
Eventually, almost TWO hours later, this heifer finally strolls in. When she inquires about her stuff, the security guard directs her to me, since I was the manager on duty.
Here. We. Go.
She comes up, annoyed judging by her red face. Or out of breath. Unsure. It was a long walk over to me.
She goes, “why did you move my stuff?”
I replied, in my management tone, “well ma’am, your stuff is over at our circulation desk in our lost and found. We moved your stuff because, as our policy states, you cannot leave personal property unattended. Since you left the property for over an hour, we moved. Now you are more than welcome to leave your stuff if you need to step out to make a phone call or have a smoke break. But you can’t leave the property.”
Her reply, “huh. Well I didn’t think it was an hour.”
Now…the good Lord, when he made me, did not install in my program much patience. He did not think it fit to download the app into me that put up with the audacity.
So, I didn’t.
I replied, still in management tone, “well we have security cameras that keep track of time. So…”
She walked away from me and went to get her stuff, muttering and grumbling all the way.
At some point, word will get out that I am not to be trifled with. But until then, I’m more than happy to knock some entitled patrons down a peg.

2024.05.21 19:16 HellHoundFromSpace How can I be there for my suffering pregnant friend despite my opinion that her suffering is not worth it?

Background: I have a friend who we’ll call Loretta. Loretta was born into a super religious family where if you didn’t have kids, you weren’t a “real” woman and your husband had every right to terminate the marriage. This toxic family has contributed to a LOT of PTSD and she’s still getting over some programming.
Now she’s married and they tried to have a kid a lot of times without success. She was pretty over it and finally coming to terms with things when Loretta ended up pregnant yet again when they weren’t even trying. The thing about Loretta is that pregnancy does not agree with her. Every time she has been extremely miserable, in constant pain, severely exhausted, and vomiting entire days. And that’s just within the first 2 weeks of Loretta being pregnant.
We have been friends a long time and we’re pretty close. I absolutely hate seeing her suffer like this. I just don’t think that 9 months of intense suffering is worth having a kid. I have been bringing her applesauce anytime she needs (it’s the only thing she can eat, if she can even eat that day). It’s super frustrating and disheartening to see her like this and think that things might be this way for 3/4 of a year. Someone once told her that the more she suffers in pregnancy, the healthier the baby. I think that’s messed up. She is on medication for the nausea, but it’s barely doing anything; think like a 5% difference.
I want to be there for her and I’m making deliveries and talking with her daily. But every time I hear about how awful she feels, I just bite my tongue. I just want her suffering to stop. She was doing so well and really getting on track with things and enjoying her life. And now, everything is on halt because she spends every day vomiting, sleeping, and being completely miserable.
And to put it out there cause I know someone will say something, yes, I am biased. I do miss hanging out with her and we were each other’s productivity buddies. We had trips planned and all that’s canceled. I am also child free and I’ve seen babies ruin the lives and marriages of some of my friends. People who seemed like the perfect couple and were so happy all the time, now constantly stressed, depressed, and broken down. It’s like their whole personalities switched. I don’t want to see that happen to other friends; especially not Loretta.
I’m doing my best to be supportive, but it’s difficult for me to watch her suffer like this knowing I can’t really help and that it’s just going to get worse. I don’t know what to do. When we talk, it seems like she wants me to say something in response to all of this, but I know my biased opinion is not something I should say nor that I have any right to say. So I just listen and say I’m here.
Why am I posting this here? I want advice on how I can be more supportive. How can I put my bias aside and not resent the kid for hurting my friend? What do I say when she tells me how awful she feels and asks what to do or says she doesn’t know how humans have survived as a species if they have to deal with this much pain to reproduce? And is there anything I can do to help her more?

2024.05.21 19:15 rayfound What I have learned along the way

I wanted to take a few minutes to highlight a few things I think that don't get talked about a lot, things that I have picked up along the way making cocktails at home. Maybe it gives some others some good ideas, and maybe you'll chime in with your things that made cocktails easiecheapebetter.
Many of these are not original ideas per se. Not claiming credit for any, just advocating for them.
  1. Fruit syrups: Whether its about using up excess fruit, making the most of some underripe/overripe/scraps, or just getting a new flavor profile - I am struck with how easy it is to just take most any fruit/berry, combine with equal weight of sugar in a mason jar, lightly muddle and leave in the fridge for 24-48 hours. Then simply strain and keep in fridge. Seems to keep without degradation for at least a week or two. Blackberries for me are always hit or miss on being delicious or bland and sour... but even the ones that don't hit the mark as fresh berries make an awesome berry syrup.
  2. Orgeat: "Make and drink" 60-second orgeat from youtube is just an incredibly easy way to make top tier orgeat. It's great because it also allows you to make Macadamia or other nut orgeats with the same format. It costs about the same as 1-2 bottle from liber and co to get started, but you can make almost infinite orgeat.
  3. Syrup/Superjuice storage: I love the idea of the "Crew" bottles... storing syrups and juice in Glass containers that are easily cleaned in dishwasher? Awesome. $20 a bottle? not awesome. My solution? "Mason Jar Pouring lids" or whatever they are called. Come in regular and wide: https://imgur.com/a/us7t7tb - I have and use lots of mason jars, but hate pouring from them as there are always drips and a mess on the rim. These things to me are basically everything I wanted from the Crew bottles at a fraction of the price and more versatility. Only thing I don't like is they use a silicone gasket you have to be careful not to lose - I wish they were self sealing like the plastic mason jar "Leakproof" lids. I also love that I can then choose jar size to the specific to the thing I want to store.
  4. Prebatch/Portable cocktail/juice storage - Liquor bottles. I save my empties and reuse exactly once. I don't bother cleaning out the bottles - being alcohol they don't get moldy or anything, and then just fill them when needed. Once they've had the second use - I don't feel bad just tossing them in the recycling after.
  5. Superjuice/Acid Adjusting - Super juice is great for lemon/limes and just getting more output, stability, etc... but maybe my favorite thing is using that format to make acid-adjusted super mandarin juice, or acid adjusting pineapple juice, etc... the fun that can be opened up by swapping in orange or pineapple for lemon/lime in cocktails is really great. Flavors can change but balance stays the same.
  6. Make sugar syrups in jars: I don't like doing dishes. Coupled with the jar storage lids above, I find mason jars about the perfect vessel to make AND store the sugar syrups (I keep both turbinado and lightly processed white cane syrups on hand)... My method is simple: I put the mason jar on kitchen scale and fill about 2/3 with sugar. Then I tare scale and add 50% (2:1 Syrup) to 100% (1:1 syrup) of boiling water from the kettle. Stir with a spoon. For larger granular sugars, particularly in 2:1 ratio, I will often bump temp up again while stirring using microwave. Be careful not to boil or it makes a mess.
  7. Infinity rum bottle - Great way to keep the cabinet with some room. I keep one bottle that i just dump the last 1-2oz into. The blend varies and changes over time but it has never been bad, and generally makes a great all purpose tiki/mai tai blend. If your primary spirit is something else besides rum, try it with that. I don't bother tracking or calculating what is in the bottle.
  8. View recipes as templates, not specifics. This kind of combines the ideas in #5 and #1 - but have fun and experiment! Use recipes as a template but swap out ingredients to fill the roles, examples - I made an awesome "mai tai" format fall drink https://www.reddit.com/Tiki/comments/1746d9a/apple_of_my_tai/ I also have a lot of fun on a drink that is inspired by the Brazilian roasted-pineapple with cinnamon dessert: Use a daquiri as a template:
2 - Cachaca 1 - Lime-adjusted Pineapple juice .75 - Cinnamon Syrup (optionally add whipped egg white/pineapple foam)
Okay - now I hope to hear your inspiration!
Cheers.

2024.05.21 19:14 changedthebeat "Mother I Sober" & "Auntie Diaries" Confusion & Questions

I revisited this album and now I have multiple questions relating to these two songs that I would like clarity on if anyone has answers, I'll list quotes from the songs, followed up with my questions related to the lines:

Whitney's hurt, the purest soul I know, I found her in the kitchen
Askin' God, "Where did I lose myself? And can it be forgiven?"
Broke me down, she looked me in my eyes, "Is there an addiction?"
I said "No," but this time I lied, I knew that I can't fix it
Pure soul, even in her pain, know she cared for me
Gave me a number, said she recommended some therapy
I asked my momma why she didn't believe me when I told her "No"
I never knew she was violated in Chicago, I'm sympathetic
Told me that she feared it happened to me, for my protection
Though it never happened, she wouldn't agree Now I'm affected, twenty years later trauma has resurfaced
Amplified as I write this song, I shiver 'cause I'm nervous
I was five, questioning myself, 'lone for many years
Nothing's wrong, just results on how them questions made me feel
I made it home, seven years of tour, chasin' manhood
But Whitney's gone, by time you hear this song, she did all she could -'Mother I Sober'
(All relevant lines for most context)
1). This is the most confusing one to me. To my understanding this is the moment Whitney finds out about Kendrick's infidelity/lust addiction. It reads as though this convo occurred when he was 25 years old ("twenty years later, after I was five") so this would be at or around 2012-2013, which fits in with him saying Whitney asked him about this soon after the GKMC tour. Which he mentioned earlier on 'Worldwide Steppers'
"good kid, m.A.A.d city tour, I flourished on them stages, Whitney asked did I have a problem I said, 'I might be racist'"
So this kind of makes it sound like this was a conversation they had over a decade ago? The "I made it home, seven years of tour, Whitney's gone" line makes this more confusing because I would assume the GKMC or Yeezus tour or even the Drake one were the first ones he was a part of back in 2012/2013, unless he is just talking about 7 years prior to the original interpretation where he would just be doing random shows back when he was K.Dot. Unless he's saying this is when the conversation happened, they remained together until sometime recently they split, but this would be unsubstantiated. So personally I think it is clear when Whitney found out about his infidelity sometime 10+ years ago, however it's very unclear when or if Whitney is even really gone and if they don't live together, see each other, or parent their kids together. The meta perspective of her appearing on the album multiple times and being a part of the artwork, and posting a ton of her own self growth stuff on IG as well an Kendrick never really saying anything contrary besides this one line leads me to believe they're still very much together?

So I set free my cousin, chaotic for my mother's pain
I hope Hykeem made you proud 'cause you ain't die in vain -'Mother I Sober'
2). Obviously this is referring to Kendrick's cousin who is the parent of Baby Keem (who I always thought was Kendrick's first cousin, and not his first cousin once removed), but who is this cousin? Is this the cousin that was accused of touching Kendrick? I assume this isn't the same cousin from Auntie Diaries due to the similar age? Also do we know how or when they died? I feel like I'm missing something obvious. For some reason a Genius annotation says this is a female "his female cousin who’s the mother of Baby Keem" I'm not sure where this is concluded from.

"Mother cried, put they hands on her, it was family ties" -'Mother I Sober'
3). This is saying that someone in the family hit his mother, not that someone in the family was the one that molested his mother?

"Mother's brother said he got revenge for my mother’s face, Black and blue, the image of my queen that I can't erase" -'Mother I Sober'
4). Kendrick's Uncle beats up another family member to avenge what happened in the previous line above?

"I asked my momma why she didn't believe me when I told her "No"
I never knew she was violated in Chicago, I'm sympathetic" -'Mother I Sober'
5). I assume we have no further context to what happened here, whether or not this incident happened by someone in the family or not, just that it happened previously when she lived in Chicago before moving to Compton?

My Auntie is a man now -Auntie Diaries
Where is your uncle at? 'Cause I wanna talk to the man of the house -Family Matters
6). Final question regarding 'Auntie Diaries'. There was a little bit of discourse over Drake's line in 'Family Matters' regarding Kendrick's Aunt/Uncle. From my understanding, yes Kendrick's Auntie is a transman, but just because that's the case doesn't necessarily mean that he wants to be referred to as an Uncle. Is it reasonable to believe that because of the title of the song, the repetition of "My Auntie is a man now", and no other indication in the song, that Kendrick's Auntie retained the Aunt title regardless of transitioning to a man? (Technically making Drake's line incorrect/hurtful?) (Note: also in an interview around 2013 Kendrick referred to him as his Auntie then for what that's worth)

2024.05.21 19:10 z34conversion Options For Personal Liability/Libel Protection

How would one legally set themselves up preemptively to shield against potential claims stemming from lliability or libel?
I tend to not share the perspective or positions that most politicians or pundits espouse, and assuming there are others who may want to hear from those of us with differing stances, was brainstorming ways to share these views and interpretations through means of video, audio or written form, amongst more public facing strategies such as commissioning political illustrations for public display or publication. The content may also get religious.
The issue lies where potential images or commentary may be made to be suggestive, but would likely not have specifically identifying characteristics or labeling (like a person's full name). Since my views tend to moderate between the norms of the two political parties in the US and outside many religious organizations, I anticipate there could be some flack.
The goal would be more informative (make people think) and advocacy related than being for profit (that's not even on my mind with clicks/streams, nor even if products do get offered at some point), but should the concept work, donations may be fielded to fund operations and I do have acquaintances with designers to potentially create politically messaged merchandise.
Based on the existing knowledge I have, it seems like setting things up as a business would be more hassle than it's worth in this situation, but I'm less familiar with options and regulations around things like not-for-profits.
People are so polarized in this day and age that I can't see taking a risk such as commissioning a suggestive or controversial billboard or espousing unpopular views (or views outside of the establishment) without some sort of legal protections in place first.
I don't imagine every YouTuber, blogger or political/religious advocate shares my concern, but I'm admittedly a very risk averse person.
I know the details may seem odd, as everything is still in concept form, but I appreciate any feedback. Thanks in advance!

2024.05.21 19:10 hamdenlocal How can I address a serious problem with a teacher that won’t give me the time of day?

TL;DR: How can I address a growing problem with a veteran teacher next door when she makes it very clear that she doesn't want anything to do with me?
This is my first year in the district and from the very start, I felt that the teacher I split my room with was not too fond of me. She would avoid saying hello or any attempts I would make to offer any materials that I had prepped for texts/ asking for advice on how to teach some of the things listed out on the curriculum. For context, the room that we split is basically one large classroom split in two by a flex wall that has a gap at the back of the room.
For the past couple months, there has been a voice coming from the back corner saying stupid things that you'd expect a normal teenage boy to say. I would notify both admin and the teacher next door about this thinking that it would be an easy fix. Admin told me that they would look into it and never did. The teacher next door became incredibly passive aggressive with me and questioned my professionalism as I would come into class (mind you not while she is actively teaching) to bring to her attention that someone is speaking through the wall. I quickly got the hint that I should back off and so I tried my best to ignore the sounds, curses, moans, etc..
Until--
He yelled "Mr. Local, shut the hell up." This was cause for me to bring it back up again as now he is addressing me by name and swearing at me (albeit, I've heard much worse in class). Same song and dance this time around... Admin says that they will investigate, teacher next door doesn't give me the time of day, etc..
Today, someone yells while my class is dead silent and at work "Mr. Local, shut the fuck up you bitch ass n***a I will beat the fuck out of you." This was the final straw. I contacted admin, talked to the teacher next door and will see what happens.
Am I in the wrong for harping on this time and time again? I understand how fucking crazy I sound when I say I am hearing kids talk through the walls but it is the only possible explanation as I am constantly looking at my kids and have separated any of the ones that would be likely to cause trouble. Genuinely feel like I am going fucking crazy and could use any advice.

2024.05.21 19:09 zimmer550king Do teachers effectively control your future in German high schools?

I read this comment under a Facebook post and I am posting it here verbatim. I have been here for 1.5 years and just want to get the opinion of Germans. The guy who wrote this comment grew up in Germany as a Muslim of South Asian background. Reading this definitely scared me as it appears that high schools in Germany are racist and teachers can effectively block you from a good future by giving you bad grades intentionally.
the second generation doesn't make it. You can analyse it yourself. Look how successful kids of your friends are. Most of them will be put in real schule or hauptschule. The few who still make it to Gymnasium. They are downgraded back to Realschule after a few years. Only a small portion gets Abitur and a very tiny portion gets the Abitur with good grades. The German culture especially at schools associates less intelligence with colored people. So since the teachers control your life and future. They can give you the grade whatever they want. It doesn't matter what you got in your exams. School is hell. Especially if its a pure gymnasium. To show you how powerful a teacher can be. If you get 100% in a maths exam the teacher has the power to reduce it to 50% and they do it.
I personally struggled a lot at school. Teachers are basically dictators. My sister struggled a lot. E.g in case of my sister she said as a Muslim she doesn't wanna go on Klassenfahrt. The teacher didn't like it and became her enemy and made sure she doesn't get any good grade to go to med school. They made her life hell. Luckily to go to med school you have to get good grades in the TMS. Its a state test it counts 50%. In this test no one knows your name. No one knows if you wear hijab. You are just a number. So she was in top 5% of whole Germany. Which allowed her to go med school. At Unis the life is much better because profs are not racist and they don't have the power to control your future. The school atmosphere is so harsh that most colored kids gets demotivated and just give up. It is one of the reason why yoh don't see many successful 2/3 generation people.
The bulk went to school in Pakistan studied there did master here doesn't speak german got a job as software engineer. The bulk doesn't understand the problems their kids will go through. Most of their kids will not successful. Because they have to go through the school system. Many desi parents still force their kids to get Fachabitur which is low level Abitur and they study history, social sciences or at Fachhochschule to please the parents. In the most of them drop out.
I will be honest, reading that a high school teacher can just slash a student's grade in Germany out of no where is scary. The guy who made this comment is now in the UK after growing up in Germany. He basically wants people of immigrant background to not have kids here as there is widespread racial discrimination in schools as compared to the UK.
How true is the guy's comment? I would especially love to hear from Germans who grew up here and have a migration background.

2024.05.21 19:09 Humble-Ad4609 Me(22M) and my 3 months girlfriend(22F) had an argument last night. How to overcome?

I have a girlfriend for 3 months. We are now away with her because I'm visiting my parents in another city but we'll be together again in 5 days, it's not a long distance relationship. Last night, I called her and told that some of my problems about our relationship. Yesterday I was feeling very down partially because sometimes she bully me in emotional situations. I am very emotionally fragile person. For instance she blame me for leaving her me not loving her. We both know she is just messing with me but I'am affected such things. These kind of behavior really makes me sad and guilty even though I know she is just kidding. Last night we had a phone call and I told her that these kind of behaviors of her makes me sad and kindly requested that she not doing such things or at least minimize it. I feel very insecure while I'm expressing my feelings so my voice was shaking while I am telling all this stuff. She told me that she feel manipulated just because my voice is shaking just for a moment and then getting better again. She told me that for telling all this I waited to go away. She also told that she thinks I choose this timing purposely because she have a final exam today and she had to study. I was shocked hearing all that. Later she apologized several times for she not being able to handle my feelings and she told be that she is not really an emotional person as me and some of my actions seems her unreasonable and that's why she felt manipulated. I am very emotional but shy person so I generally don't share my inner feelings with anybody. I thought that she is a safe space where I can be me and share my feelings freely. However after last night I am feeling terrible. I was planning life long relationship and marry her sometime, I love her so much but after last night I am considering even breakup which I feel very guilty for just considering it. I don't know what to do, I am very thoughtful and sad right know. She sent me sweet photos this morning and saying "I love you" to me to cheer me up. I love her so much, I'm in love with her but this one hurt me a lot. The feeling I have right know is that I can never be as open as before when sharing my feelings. I feel that I lost that safe space and from now on I have to somewhat suppress my feelings instead of sharing with her. I know I might be exaggerating the situation but I can’t stop feeling like that. What should I do? How can I overcome this feeling?

2024.05.21 19:03 Popular-Recipe-3518 Schraber schizophrenia vs complex PTSD

Hi y’all,
Wanted to share this insight (in the hopes also the folks at CZM see it) about the effects of neglect on childhood development, and that Schraber may not have been schizophrenic at all. I say this having not read anything further and just from listening to the podcast so I may be missing crucial information.
When children are physically neglected their brains develop differently. Often times the child creates a rich inner world to compensate for reality. The distinction between young children (under 5) and adolescents or adults experiencing trauma is that young children have more vibrant and real feeling imaginations (for example, my teddy bear has the same emotions I do so must care for him). This can lead children to develop a dissociative identity disorder. This diagnosis has gotten blown up by TikTok unfortunately. In reality, that will typically mean the child becomes an adult whose inner world is more “real” than the outer world. This happens out of necessity, so they can cope with how terrifying real life is. They will often blame themselves or fictional others for their suffering, rather than the parent. For a parent to be “bad”=death in a developing mind. So all these other fantasies and/or self blame step in to compensate.
For further context, I’m a trauma therapist and have had a rare few clients who have developed in this way and it’s because of physical, emotional neglect and torture. They get screened for schizophrenia/bipolar spectrum and do not meet the criteria. Further, it was typical to call pretty much any mental illness schizophrenia up until maybe the 70s or 80s (don’t have the exact dates in my brain). So it’s good to be skeptical when you hear that diagnosis historically. I’m sure Robert is aware of that, but maybe not this other facet of how specific kinds of trauma affect brain development.
I also share this to highlight the significance of neglect. It’s now more commonly understood in trauma therapy that physical and emotional neglect can have the absolute worst effects on children. It’s understandable that people gravitate to CSA as the worst (because it’s disgusting and horrible obviously) but kids who experience that kind of trauma (if not combined with torture and neglect) have better outcomes as adults than kids who were never touched lovingly as children. That distinction is only to highlight how we really need to give one million shits about poverty first and foremost. And that’s not blame for parents, rather if parents aren’t able to care for and nurture their children they will have worse outcomes as adults. It also makes these back to back series about horrible childcare so fascinating, and to consider what neglect does to a society at large.
Anyways, thought you all might find that interesting or useful. Not a cool brag but I can handle CSA content but when I hear about babies and very young kids being left in the cold it makes me feel like I’m about to pass out because I know what’s happening in their poor brains (example of this: You’re Wrong About ep on crack babies, I feel nauseous thinking about it still).
Would love to hear thoughts from my fellow clinical psychologists!

2024.05.21 18:57 signedupto_post_this am i wrong to feel annoyed? (i’m sorry this is so long 😭)

*tw: dating at early age (for those of you who always get annoyed lmao),, i know we’re young, we make mistakes yadayadayada i know y’all are probably thinking “eh why so young date already ah” but to be fair we’re all curious kids so- can’t stop it from happening if it happens 😃
backstory: alright so in 2022, i (15F) was talking to a guy (15M, aka person A) for at least 2-3 months, seemed nice, and then we had a relationship that lasted around 3-4 months (we broke up on christmas day 😅)..
anyway, so yeah we kind of broke up on “good terms”? (broke up because i told him we’re better off as friends since we couldn’t meet each others’ expectations as a couple? he was emotionally unavailable and was very insecure throughout the relationship, and would often break boundaries that i had already set in place, and i had already let him cross too many — i know that’s on me because i didn’t enforce my boundaries as firm as i should have — but anyway he wasn’t a bad friend to me so i thought, why not go back to being friends?) or so i thought 💀
a few days after we broke up, i found out through HIS friends that he was talking shit about me? (e.g. calling me a slxt, told his friends that i cheated on him with FIVE?? not one, not two, but FIVE guys 😭 my thoughts: wow i didn’t know i had so much time in my life to cheat on you?) but at that point i was already done with him because i honestly couldn’t be bothered? and he wasn’t even my problem anymore! so obviously i proceeded on with my life and focused on my studies.
story: now, it’s 2024 he’s 17, i’m 17. introducing my best friend (17F, person B). person B has been with me since the beginning of 2020, we of course had our fights and drama, but we stayed despite them and learned to love one another with our flaws (platonically obviously).
so person B was around when i was dating person A, and they became friends. however, when i broke up with person A, he still kept contact with person B. (they talk in school sometimes)
as of now, person A and person B are close friends, and when i say close friends, i mean they call each other (one on one) sometimes, he updates her about almost everything in his life, he invites her for outings (just the two of them), and always asks for her thoughts on stuff.. and you may be thinking, “omg how would you know?” ☺️☺️ well person B tells me!
in my opinion, i don’t really care much if you were friends with my ex, because honestly speaking, he’s human too and he needs a community to talk to as well, BUT you do not have to share with my everything about my ex’s current life 😭 (doesn’t matter love life, healthy life, whatever life).. i’ve chosen to move on from him, leaving him as a part of my life in my high school days and i do not need or wish to involve him in my life again? i’m sorry but that’s what i have decided on for my life.
i don’t know, does it make me sound like i have not gotten over my ex? because i swear im over him, i just don’t need to hear about his life that often, and i get really annoyed at it too 😭 and whenever i react to something he does to me after the break up, (e.g. liking my story) she just tells me that im overreacting and that he’s just being friendly..
and also, the thing is person B knows what my other friends (they do not interact with person A at all) think about their friendship (person A + B) and she’ll keep on telling me “yo i feel guilty because people will think I’m such a bad friend for being close with your ex” and i’ve told her countless times “i really do not care if you’re friends with him, it’s your life”
so am i in the wrong to be reacting this way when person B tells me about person A’s life? am i really just overreacting when it’s just a small issue? and what do i do because i obviously don’t want to hear about person A.. but i do want my friendship with person B to continue..

2024.05.21 18:56 Dress_Willing AITAH for the way I reached

I meant reacted sorry for the typo 😭
Hi, so this is my first post so I’m unsure on how to word it but I’ll give a little backstory. I (18f) live with my mum (44), my sister (17), and my brother (12). My dad’s a narcissist so we never had the perfect upbringing and a lot of problems happened.
So uh a couple of weeks ago I got into an argument with my mum. I was upset at something that happened with my boyfriend, so I wasn’t exactly in the right mental state right then and there. My brother and sister were arguing over the WiFi as it was being funny so I (being upset and getting annoyed) told them to shut up and that my sister should just turn it off if something was happening.
20 minutes later my mum shouts me down, (I’m guessing my sister told my mum about what had happened). My mum was going on about how I can’t “talk with an attitude” with everyone- again I was annoyed with the arguing and I tried to resolve it (I probably should have done it with a better attitude I’ll admit) and it ended in a screaming match as I walked away since my mum was getting pretty aggressive. I won’t exactly say what happened but it ended up with some shoving and some hurtful things being said.
Anyways, I hadn’t talked to her for about 2 weeks as I was trying to let the situation calm down. And today, as we was all eating my brother was talking to me about his friend. And I had listened to him all throughout and at the end I had said “honestly, I don’t really care about your friend”. I was being honest as everyone tells me to be. My mum turned to look at me and started shouting at me. She had ragged my headphones off my head and got into my face. She had said that I should talk to him better and some other things. She then tried to take my phone away (btw it’s the phone I paid for with my own money). Once she had backed away I decided to walk upstairs to calm myself as I was crying.
As I was packing my bag (I asked my nan if I could stay with her for tonight as I didn’t feel comfortable in my own home), my mum came into the bedroom trying to shove me onto the bed so we could “talk”. I didn’t want to as I was crying, and kept packing my bag.
I guess that was my first mistake as she went on a 30 minute rant about how hard it is for her and how I’m a “spoilt little bitch” and that I should never have kids.
I am now at my nans trying to calm down.
I understand that I’m not the best daughter and that I should not have done what I did. But idk I just feel like everyone is making me seem like the villain and not hearing about how it makes me feel. Don’t get me wrong she’s not a bad mum and I love her, but I just can’t deal with this anymore.
If you need any more details I’ll be happy to answer.

2024.05.21 18:56 whateverhufflepuff How do you guys escape the male gaze that some (female) authors unfortunately still perpetuate?

Hi, I was in a massive book slump a few months ago, because some (not all of course!!!) authors that are women themselves still perpetuate the toxic beauty standard for women in their own books, even if they themselves don’t fit that standard and I genuinely don’t understand why. Of course it’s not all authors and it’s mostly about finding your favourite authors and I love reading in this genre, but so many descriptive choices leave me confused.
If you don’t know what I’m talking about, here are a few examples: they mention how small and tiny the female leads nose is (in male pov) and how it makes her seem childlike and thus innocent and attractive. (Sometimes for a whole paragraph)It’s honestly a bit disturbing to read, and not only because I have a bigger nose. Also whenever their FMC has the “societal perfect” body they mention how she had the tiniest waist ever and the MMCs hands can span all the way across and he gets turned on(Btw this is absolutely NOT an insult to any woman that has that type of body, everbody is beautiful ), it just confuses me why so many authors seem to make such a big deal out of how “perfect” they made their FMC. Like why would the shape of your fmcs nose or width of her waist be so important that it’s one of the key reasons why her love interests fell for her?
It completely takes me out of the story because I thought this is the place for a lot of women to escape the extreme harsh standards for our appearance.
For example, I’m plus sized and even when I specifically read books with plus sized main characters, so many authors still make it a point to say that their plus sized character is still “a perfect hourglass figure” and that she has “curves in all the RIGHT places (😒)” As a person who has curves EVERYWHERE, it’s very hurtful to read that.
What do you think? If you agree, which authors haven’t let you down?
Btw, please stay respectful, I meant no harm and just wanted to share my thoughts.

2024.05.21 18:55 Zerone06 Chinese Taoism holds a presence in Altaic mythology in the form of gender-based duality and creation

The famous symbol of Taoist cosmology, Yin and Yang, represents dualism in the principles of universal existence. But it also reflects the harmony within these two, that is, it also has a monistic side.
The Altaic creation saga is a cosmogonic "beginning of everything" text of the Turks and it contains elements influenced by Taoist principles.
Here is how it goes:
When there was nothing, there was only water. Ulgen was flying above the water, forever adrift, since there was no place to land. But one time, Ulgen heard a voice from within him, "Hold from below, grasp what lies before you!" With that, he reached out his hand. From the depths of the water, a piece of rock emerged. Ulgen alighted upon the land, but then he just rested on, for he knew not what to reach further. Then, Goddess Agine rose to the surface and adressed him: "Create, then! Say 'I did, it's done', or else, do not say 'I did, it's not done.'" And then, she disappeared. Leaving Ulgen alone with the deed of creation.
If we were talking about Greek mythology, this would probably end up in sex. But Agine enters the water and disappears, and the story continues in another way. Because Agine has fulfilled her role. Agine is the goddess who triggered Ulgen into creating. By saying "Say 'It's done,' or else, do not say 'It's not done,'" she teaches Ulgen to believe that something that is desired to happen will happen, in other words, affirmation, because cosmogonic texts (since everything is created for the first time) have an aspect of suggesting how the world should be. One other side is the power of logos But that's a whole another matter.
In short creation first comes from Agine here. Now, the connection of nature-related feminine energy and creation is not a first in mythology as it exists in almost every mythology, but here it's a bit different because Agine inspires the creator instead of, you know, taking from him and causing creation by herself. She inspires the act itself, now we can talk about the manifestation of a dual system of thought without relying on gender and birth as it usually happens in myths, but rather in a cosmological sense.
The heaven/earth concept is another concept of Turks which is also a part of this dual system of thought. In Chinese historical literature, we can see the term Tianxia (天下), which means everything under the sky. So there is sky, and then there is what's under it. This is highly related to the Mandate of Heaven so it's a concept of mythology as well. Again, the usual translation of Tian in Chinese is Heaven so it's a divine thing. And from the Turks they usually refer to sky as Tengri. Dots are already connecting.
Anyways, let's continue with the saga:
An entity named Erlik emerged. Ulgen asked him who he was. Erlik declared his desire to gather soil and fashion it into an earth of his own, but this intention of him angered Ulgen. Erlik said that he would bring the soil to him if he kept his anger, Ulgen calmed down. Erlik then brought the soil. Ulgen took the soil and shouted: "What I have done will be!" and a piece of land was formed before him. Then he sent Erlik back to the bottom of the water again. This time Erlik only delivered some of the soil, but kept a piece in his mouth. However, the soil that Erlik kept in his mouth also grew larger and got stuck in his throat. When Ulgen asked why he hid the soil, Erlik answered that he wanted to create a place for himself. Ulgen got furious at his yet again attempt to rival his divine self. With fury, he banished Erlik, declaring he will never be able come to the surface again. Thus, Erlik remained underground forever, spreading diseases, torturing dead souls, and unleashing his curse.
Now here it resembles Greek mythology indeed. Erlik is similar to Hades as his role is ruling the underworld as the god of evil. But still, is the concept here really the one and the same as the clash between Zeus and Hades?
The distinction between good and bad is existent here that is obvious. But hear this: Although Erlik and Ulgen seem to be enemies in principle, they are actually complementary to each other. They are the two faces of creation, two faces of the same coin, just like how it was with Agine. The conflict between them is essentially conflict of territorial dominance of creation. While Ulgen represented the sky, Erlik wanted to take the earth, but when he couldn't, he was sent underground. Erlik is a complementary element of the creation since without under what there is cosmos can't fully shape.
Here is the explanation of Yin and Yang from Encyclopedia Britannica: Yin is a symbol of earth, femaleness, darkness, passivity, and absorption. Yang is conceived of as heaven, maleness, light, activity, and penetration.
As you can see, Yin and Yang contain not one, but all what is opposite. Therefore, we can clearly see Erlik's position on the opposite side of Ulgen, who, as heaven, represents Yang's properties. Now there are strong theories that Tengrism is a pantheistic religion. In the believed cosmological model of the Tengrism, all shapes from a tree and all what existence reaches is essentially bucketed in one. The elements of the universe are all connected to each other. So, while the model is like this, factors like the creation being formed from great contrasts and the universe's being still representing those opposite powers inevitably reflects the Taoist principles here. After all, Yin and Yang stand for Earth and Sky as well. Which is a clear core in Turkic belief as it could be understood from Orkhon inscriptions.
The saga ends as it follows:
Before getting imprisoned in the depths of the world, Erlik yearned for the most little piece of soil. Ulgen initially hesitated, yet Erlik pleaded so much, eventually he granted him the soil. But when Ulgen asked him what was his intention with the soil, Erlik plunged into the water, vanishing from sight.
As you can see, Erlik is indeed holds a part of creation in himself. It can be understood from here that the duality used by the Turks in their conception of the universe and creation is not dichotomous, but rather a form of harmony, and that it is probably related to Yin and Yang.
