5 months talking stage - advice!

2024.05.21 12:51 Icy_Lynx775 5 months talking stage - advice!

TL;DR: post 5 months of talking everyday and sharing everything he says he isn’t sure what he feels.
21F, 25M So there is a guy l've been talking to for the past 5 months for hours at once, on calls at times, sharing life updates, movie reviews, content recommendations, etc. I've met him before but he now lives in a different city. So all our interaction is pretty much online. 2 months into this, we are flirting and it's all fun and games, and he's asked to come visit a few times by now (in passing that is but we have no labels as of now). One night we are watching a movie online and sharing our insights and once that is over he says that - come to my city to watch part 2 of the movie (which was being released in theatres) I just laugh at that moment and let it be. I think about it and decide to give what we have a chance. I decide to go to visit him in his city. So I tell him next month I'm coming and making up some excuse to camouflage my reason to visit him. He seems excited and another month goes by. Then she catches the flight to his city. Not received at the airport Cz he has business to attend to (she doesn't think of it much). Meets him for lunch, a little awkward at first, but then vibes were good. He returns to business for the afternoon and then decides to meet at night. Takes me to a familiar v place....its nice...romantic (I think to myself how thoughtful). Later also takes to me a friend's houseparty (where one of his friends hit on me)

2024.05.21 12:49 madvey90 No, the Government is not banning your kei cars (ADR 85/00)

TL:DR Unless there is some change to ADR 85 that is not publicly available, most* imported cars will be compliant with ADR 85. (I'm not an engineer, nor am I in the know in relation to imported cars unlike the guys at Iron Chef or GoGarage)
There were a couple of comments on some threads recently which claimed that the Australian Government was proposing 'new laws' or already starting to stop the import of Kei Cars, because they would not comply with ADR 85.
https://www.reddit.com/CarsAustralia/comments/1cure3suzuki_spacia_hybrid/
https://www.reddit.com/CarsAustralia/comments/1cvnc98/major_changes_to_sevs_import_laws/
What is ADR 85?
Link: https://www.legislation.gov.au/F2015L02109/latest/text
ADR 85 tests the Pole Side Impact performance (PSI) of a car - essentially a test car is flung into a pole at speed and its safety is measured.
ADR 85 has prevented cars such as the Lexus IS and RC from being sold (presumably because it cannot meet the new standards.\
What cars need to comply with ADR 85?
For imported cars, an ADR will apply if:
Source: https://www.legislation.gov.au/F2021L00838/latest/text (section 10)
The date of original manufacture date is the date on which the vehicle was first made available to a consumer in any market in the world.
The ADR85 applicability date is 1 November 2021 .
The ADR85 new model applicability date is 1 November 2017.
How to comply with ADR 85?
ADR 85 is essentially a regulation standardised by the United Nations' World Forum for Harmonisation of Vehicle Regulations. Section 7 of ADR 85 states that UN Regulation 135, is equivalent to the technical requirements of this standard.
Surely, those tiny Kei cars can't meet these ADRs that a big Lexus can't?
Japan has adopted UN Regulation 135 for all new cars since 15 June 2018. (Australian Source - https://www.drive.com.au/news/adr-85-everything-you-need-to-know/, Japanese Source - https://car.watch.impress.co.jp/docs/news/707164.html )
Japan proposed a cheeky amendment just so that Kei Cars could pass UN Regulation 135 - it lobbied for the vehicle speed for the test to be lowered from 32 km/h to 26 km/h for vehicles which were less than 1.5m wide (Annexure 3, paragraph 8.7 here https://unece.org/fileadmin/DAM/trans/main/wp29/wp29regs/2015/R135e.pdf )
Here's the Japanese trying to justify it to the UN here: https://unece.org/DAM/trans/doc/2012/wp29grsp/PSI-05-06.pdf
So why the rumours?
Right now, neither the model report nor the SEVS approvals for the Suzuki Spacia have been suspended or revoked.
The Spacia's date of original manufacture and build date range both start in December 2017 - so ADR 85 applies but it was prior to Japan adopting the equivalent UN Regulation 135. Hmmm....
Will Kei cars come to Australia?
It's clear that Mitsubishi is clearly considering launching their newest EV kei car in Australia - see the most recent Chasing Cars review of it here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F_XpWwwHxKc

2024.05.21 12:43 No_Pause8153 I (28M) got angry at a joke my girlfriend (29F) made last night during dinner and now things are back to being shaky between us.

Hi folks,
Longtime lurker and first-time poster here. I need a (relatively) unbiased perspective on something that happened last night with my girlfriend.
For context, things between us have been touch and go for the past two months. A combination of issues we had when we first started dating resurfacing and long-distance (she's been working out of the country since March but will be back in about ten days) has made it hard to soothe each other during such times.
Things yesterday were more than okay. Actually, they were great. The warmth that we had at the start of the year when she was still here was back. She was affectionate, loving, cracking jokes, smiling, laughing, etc. I felt great. We decided to prepare dinner together that night on FaceTime, and things were going stellar.
Until she was jokingly telling me to stop singing this one song that she hated and I told her "to relax" in a non-serious tone. I instantly went, "Oh shit haha I'm so sorry, don't take my head off," because I remembered how she hates it when someone tells her to "relax." She clapped back, saying, "Haha don't tell me to relax, I'll fucking punch you in the face." And that is when I got pissed.
I'm a sensitive guy. I always have been. It is something that has caused me a lot of anguish in my previous relationship because I can very quickly get upset about small things. For some reason, I've always had an issue with this kind of language in relationships. Violence. Do I think my girlfriend would actually punch me in the face? Of course not. But for whatever reason, I've always been hyper-sensitive to this kind of talk. I also despise it when anyone goes for my face in a joking manner, whether it's some rough housing with my dad or my friends, or my significant other jokingly giving me a couple of taps on the face.
I've never been physically abused in my life. My parents never laid a hand on me. I've never been physically bullied, either. So I really don't know where this aversion to physical or verbal jokes of this kind comes from.
I got a little pissed. I didn't shout, scream, or throw a tantrum. But I was visibly upset. She asked me why I was so pissed since she was clearly joking and said she would never actually punch me. I said I don't like that kind of language being thrown around even as a joke, to which she said, "Who hurt you?"
She went on to say that if this triggered a soft spot because of something that happened to me, I should communicate that to her. But I can't expect her to understand that if I've never told her. I said nothing happened to me. I've never been physically abused, so there's no "trauma" underlying it. It's just something I don't enjoy. No need to overanalyze it.
That sentence kicked my anger up a few notches. I guess reflecting on it, it felt invalidating. It frustrated me. I said, "Who hurt me? Do you really want to take it there? Is that how you want to handle this?"
I was pretty sure I knew why that sentence hurt me. I was in an emotionally abusive, toxic relationship for five years with a borderline narcississt. My girlfriend knows this. She knows how bad it was. And I guess the crass nature of the 'who hurt you?' comment reminded me of a time earlier in my relationship with my current girlfriend where we were having an argument and she said, "Do I have to treat you like shit to have you?" Which was a clear reference to my previous relationship. She has since apologized for that comment, after I told her how profoundly invalidating and wrong it is to say something like that.
The thing is. My girlfriend has a tendency to say things that come off as rude, hurtful, or invalidating when she's upset. And I think this whole situation triggered that fight or flight response after the 'Who hurt you?' debacle.
Back to the current issue....
I was flooded, so I told her I'd call her back after I've cooled off. I took five minutes to relax and then called her back. I apologized for my "overreaction" to her joke and explained to her that generally, I don't enjoy these kinds of jokes.
She went on to say that she finds me getting upset at something like this, to the degree that I did get upset, "kind of ridiculous."
I told her I understand. I said it was unfair to get roused up like that. I told her it's all water under the bridge now and I know she didn't mean anything she said seriously. I reiterated that I don't appreciate these kinds of jokes and that I don't think it's a big ask not to make them in our relationship. She agreed.
After we spoke about it, I couldn't shake the feeling that her telling me my reaction was "ridiculous" and me doubling down by saying it was "unfair" to her was, in reality, unfair to me, and invalidating for me.
Either way, it seemed like the damage was done, though. She was cold for the rest of the night while we watched something on Netflix. The jokey, smiling, sensual person that was there a few minutes ago was replaced by a cold, frustrated, avoidant person. Things were just lukewarm for the rest of the night. She was back to feeling super anxious about all the things we were going through and I was back to feeling like garbage. My anxiety was through the roof. My heart was beating like I was running away from a tiger. I felt sick to my stomach.
I wanted to beat myself up to a pulp. My internal monologue went straight into self-hatred mode. "Why are you like this? This is all your fault. Things were fine, but your sensitive, fragile ass just had to have a moment, right? You couldn't just enjoy the present moment. You couldn't take two seconds to calm your nervous system down before overreacting. Now she probably feels like she has to walk on eggshells around you. She probably thinks you're a baby. You're not a real man. A real man wouldn't throw a childish tantrum like this over a silly fucking joke. You just gave her the ick. You triggered her, and now she's anxious and feeling like crap, and so are you. You just can't have nice things, can you? You have to self-sabotage, don't you?"
I didn't give into the monologue. I took ten minutes to record a voice note to myself, speaking to myself as though I was a friend. I told myself that while I may have overreacted, I did the right thing by taking accountability and apologizing. I also reminded myself that what I had done was far from a "tantrum." I didn't scream, shout, break stuff, or name-call. I didn't blame her, hold it against her for the rest of the night, or stonewall.
The issue that I am dealing with and have always dealt with in these situations is the intense feelings of shame and guilt that come about after these moments. In addition, I feel like I can never truly validate my feelings. Sure, I recorded that voice note as an exercise to try to rewire that awful, abusive self-talk in my head, but I still felt like the whole situation was entirely my fault. I still sort of blame myself for how she is feeling now. I blame myself for disrupting a moment of peace and well-being in our relationship. And I also know that I am prone to self-sabotage, so that makes it even more difficult to find the middle ground between taking responsibility for my actions and validating my feelings.
Was I being extra? Was I really overreacting? Is my insecure attachment causing me to overanalyze or interpret my girlfriend's actions after the initial episode I had? Did she really invalidate how I was feeling by asking the "who hurt you?" question in a somewhat sarcastic way as well as telling me that it was ridiculous of me to get angry at such a thing? Was I really being unfair to her by reacting how I did? Is my nervous system just picking up on a pattern of invalidating behaviour and the anger after the 'who hurt you?' comment is a natural reaction to that? It is the morning after that situation, and I am feeling rather distant towards her. I feel almost sick in my stomach. As though I'm seeing a side to her that I shouldn't ignore. But again, I think as people with insecure attachments we have this tendency to either put people on an insane pedestal to which they will inevitably fall short of or label any behaviour as a 'red flag'.
I'm not looking for a pity party. I want honest opinions, please. If I was really in the wrong, I want to hear that perspective.
TL;DR:
Things have been touch and go with my girlfriend due to resurfacing issues and long-distance challenges. Last night on FaceTime, she joked about punching me in the face, which upset me as I'm sensitive to violent language. I expressed my discomfort, and she responded with a sarcastic "who hurt you?" This reminded me of a past abusive relationship. I took a break to calm down and apologized, but she called my reaction "ridiculous." She became cold afterward, making me anxious and self-critical. Now, I feel conflicted, wondering if my reaction was an overreaction or if her responses were invalidating. Am I overanalyzing due to my insecure attachment style, or is this a red flag? Seeking honest opinions.

2024.05.21 12:32 SirM0rgan What does the mastery score actually mean now?

I'm not trying to pretend that the old mastery system was a good indicator of skill at the game, but it at least was a good indicator of how familiar a person was with the champ they were playing. New mastery system seems all over the place.
A casual review of other posts here shows that some people had ~400k and are mastery 27, others had like 300k and are mastery 30 and even at the high end, people with 3.4 mil have 310 while people with 3 mil have 250. Even going off of my own accounts, I have one with 2.83 mil at 256 and another at 1.09 mil with 101. These numbers do not seem to establish a relative amount of playtime on the champion. Moreover, it sounds like the difficulty of raising your mastery by more than a few levels will be much more challenging than in the past, so level 50 could either indicate someone who had about 500k +/- ~20%, or someone who has climbed their way up one rank at a time getting 7+ S ranks at each step after 7. The same number is indicative of two very different levels of experience/ mastery, and unless I am missing something, that means that the number as a whole is completely meaningless now, whereas before it was only mostly meaningless.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining about the difficulty. If anything, I wish grinding mastery was harder so that high numbers would mean I actually knew how to use my champion well. My issue is that by replacing old scores with a simplified (non-linear) mastery level instead of keeping the old scores and starting us all off at mastery 8 and letting us climb from there, the new numbers don't appear to mean anything. I went from mastery 100 to mastery 101 in a single game by getting 1 S. Someone else is going to have to do a lot more work to get to the same place I ended up more or less by accident.
Here's some links to some of my accounts and you can see that the new number and the old number don't seem to have a very strong relationship:
ChampionMastery.GG - League of Legends champion mastery scores for Sirm0rgan
ChampionMastery.GG - League of Legends champion mastery scores for Script Test Acc3
ChampionMastery.GG - League of Legends champion mastery scores for Xerastormblessed
There are a lot of other issues with the new mastery progression, but it seems pointless to get into any of it until there is some kind of consistency in what any of these numbers even *could* mean.
TL;DR: having the new mastery level based off of our old mastery score means that there is no evidence of accomplishment for climbing any number of levels. i.e. climbing from level 20 to level 80 is an insane amount of work, but is indistinguishable from someone who just started off at level 80. If you started at level 80, getting to level 81 is trivial. If you started at level 20, getting from level 80 to 81 is somewhat challenging.

2024.05.21 12:30 FortunateWaterbear Update: I'm kind of disappointed but am I being unreasonable?

This is an update to a post I made about 2 months ago. I was terrified of re-entering an industry that properly traumatized me for the majority of my professional life. But I attended the interview anyway and got the job.
https://www.reddit.com/work/s/6gLKfIPosg if you want to read it.
Now to the update. Also kind of long; TL:DR at the end.
I have been here a scant 2 months and already I'm seeing some worrying signs.
My people manager is great. My relationship with my colleagues, also pretty good. I'm having a bit of trouble adjusting but working on that. Gotten some feedback on my work tasks which I am actively working on. Not so bad as all that, I'm learning, I'm growing. I like being here.
But all is not, apparently, what it seems.
I was called in for a "catch up" meetping this past week which highlighted all of my shortcomings. The end result of which was the conclusion that I am not performing to the quality standards they expected.
Now, to clarify, I understand that my review wasn't going to be overwhelmingly positive. I also understand that the employer is entitled to provide me with candid feedback on how they feel I'm doing.
But, here's what worries me. This review meeting wasn't communicated to me until the last minute - so it seemed to be something urgent. My people manager was absent at the time and, after speaking with her, I learned that her full sentiments on my performance were not communicated to me. None of my positives were highlighted.
In addition, things that had been brought to my attention already (like 2 months back) and resolved within that time span are still considered ongoing issues (??). Items I have also already discussed with my managers as points on which I need guidance are also being seen as active issues - there seemed to be some negativity towards the fact that I needed guidance. In addition, items I didn't even get feedback on are suddenly poorly done. A surprise to me, but whatever.
And then this meeting was followed with a revocation of some of my privileges until I show improvement. This I have no issue with - it's the employer's prerogative, I guess.
When I reviewed the notes I got the next day, however, I noted the major gaps in the information I got. I am at a loss as to how to respond. This morning, I've also gotten an email, basically outlining my "shortcomings" and copying HR. It's that major of an issue, apparently.
I know a lot of this is from my perspective and my judgement could be clouded but that review felt like an ambush and a witch hunt. It was ad hoc an resulted in my being punished for poor performance without, again I reiterate, my direct people manager present.
In addition, it's dredging up some old traumas from my previous workplace which is making me think that maybe this isn't the place for me. Am I being too hasty? Or should I trust my gut on this one?
TL:DR - New workplace is giving me bad vibes similar to a traumatic point in my life. I've only been here 2 months and I feel like I've had enough. Am I being unreasonable?

2024.05.21 12:19 thefarmerjethro When a roof gets really hot, can the strapping and decking catch fire?

Odd thought crossed my mind as we've had some really hot days lately and I had a new steel roof installed over my old shingles. The work is still going on and not all the attic ventilation is done yet. This has caused my upstairs, despite ample insulation, to feel a bit warmer.
In any case, I was helping hand up the roofing sheets and in direct sun, they were too hot to touch.
Wondering then - can that get hot enough to ignite the strapping and/or plywood decking below? I know it will constantly be transferring heat in with directions (to ambient and below), so will only reach a certain temp - but is it anywhere close to ignition or could it cause pyrolysis?

🔗Indigo Dog House with Microban - Enhanced Pet Comfort by Coleman

The Petmate Indigo Dog House has been my faithful companion, keeping my furry friend comfortable and cozy in all weather conditions. The offset extended doorway ensures that wind and rain are kept at bay, allowing my pet to enjoy the comfort of their personal space without getting damp or chilled.
The structural foam provides excellent insulation, keeping my pet cool during summer days and warm during the colder months. The roof vent helps maintain proper airflow, allowing for a pleasant environment inside the dog house. The use of Microban is an added bonus, as it actively works against the growth of bacteria, mold, and mildew, ensuring a fresh and clean living area for my pet.
Installation was a breeze, with no tools required, and the dog house is specifically designed for medium-sized pets. Although the dimensions are perfect for my pet, I found it interesting that larger dogs can be accommodated in the larger versions of the dog house. My pet loved his new home and took to it immediately, feeling secure and protected from the elements.
However, there have been some minor issues with rain leakage. Although the design of the dog house is meant to keep rain out, I have found that on occasion, water still finds its way inside the dog house. This can lead to damp and unpleasant conditions for my pet and requires extra attention to keep the dog house area dry.
Overall, the Petmate Indigo Dog House is a reliable and comfortable choice for your medium-sized pet. With its insulated design and sturdy construction, your furry friend will be well-protected in all weather conditions. Although it has faced some minor issues, these do not detract from the overall quality and functionality of the dog house.

I recently had the opportunity to test out the Coleman Juniper Lake 4-Person Instant Dome Tent, and I must say, it was a mixed experience. On the one hand, setting up this tent was a breeze, thanks to the pre-attached poles that allowed me to pitch it in about a minute. The ventilated annex, complete with a rainfly, was also a great feature for keeping my gear and dog dry and comfortable.
However, there were a few issues I encountered during my time using the tent. Firstly, the poles had a sliding mechanism that broke the very first time I used it. This resulted in a much heavier and bulkier tent, which was quite inconvenient when packing it up. Additionally, the rainfly, while well-ventilated, did restrict some visibility through the windows, making it slightly less than ideal for enjoying the outdoors.
Despite these drawbacks, the Coleman Juniper Lake 4-Person Instant Dome Tent still proved to be a functional and capable option for my camping needs. With a few improvements, such as detachable poles and a more durable rainfly, this tent could be an even better choice for those looking for a hassle-free camping experience.

🔗Coleman Instant 4-Person Cabin Tent: Durable and Easy Setup

Recently, I had the opportunity to try out the Coleman Instant 4-Person Cabin Tent in tan/black. This instant tent features an 8' x 7' floor that's spacious enough for a queen airbed, allowing for plenty of room to move around comfortably. Its taped seams and welded floor seam offer strength and durability, while mesh windows improve air circulation. Furthermore, it meets CPAI-84 flammability requirements for safety and has a fully-taped WeatherTec system that withstands harsh outdoor elements, keeping all your items dry.
When it came to setting up the tent, the color-coded poles and easy-to-follow instructions made the process a breeze. I was impressed by the tent's ability to withstand various weather conditions, thanks to its durable materials and strong frame. The design also includes ample airflow through large windows and a ground vent, reducing condensation and keeping the interior fresh and cool.
However, there were a couple of downsides, as well. Firstly, the d-style door was a bit hard to open and close, and the zipper required some effort to work properly. Additionally, the tent didn't seem as sturdy as expected in high winds, with the fabric flapping around a bit.
Overall, the Coleman Instant 4-Person Cabin Tent was a decent choice for a camping trip. Its ease of setup, spacious interior, and weather resistance made it a comfortable shelter. However, some improvements, such as better zippers and more durable materials, could have made this tent even more impressive.

Recently, I had the chance to try out the Coleman WeatherMaster 10-Person Tent on my camping trip. The tent quickly became a game-changer for me and my large family. When it comes to space, this tent is truly remarkable – it comfortably accommodates ten people, giving us all enough room to spread out and enjoy our camping experience.
The WeatherMaster's separate rooms and dividers provided us with much-needed privacy and organization, making our trip even more enjoyable. Setting up the tent was also a breeze, thanks to the color-coded poles and clear instructions. The tent held up well in various weather conditions, keeping us dry and secure throughout.
One of the standout features was the ventilation system. Despite having a large group, the tent remained well-ventilated, preventing condensation and maintaining a comfortable atmosphere. The built-in electrical access port was also a convenient feature that allowed us to stay connected and charge our devices.
However, there were a few drawbacks to the tent. The setup process was a bit slower than I expected, which could be an issue for those looking for a quick set up. Additionally, the rain fly was prone to leaking, which meant I needed to use an extra tarp for added protection. Despite these minor issues, the Coleman WeatherMaster Tent proved to be a valuable addition to our camping trips, delivering on its promises and providing a comfortable and spacious shelter for our family.

I recently tested out the Coleman Evanston 8-Person Tent with Screen Room for a camping trip, and I was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to set up! The snag-free pole sleeves and Insta-Clip attachments made it a breeze to assemble in less than 15 minutes. As someone who loves the great outdoors, there's nothing more bothersome than having bugs invade your tent. However, the fully screened porch and the four large windows provided maximum ventilation while keeping the bugs at bay.
The tent's 72-inch center height offered plenty of room for my sleeping bag, and the 1442 square feet of floor space was perfect for storing all my gear. The weather-resistant features, such as the taped seams and rainfly, ensured that I remained dry during a sudden rain shower.
The screened-in room was an excellent addition, offering extra space for ventilation or storage. However, one downside was the rainfly, which sometimes made it a bit darker inside the tent even on sunny days. Additionally, the tent was on the heavier side, making it a bit more challenging to transport longer distances.
Overall, the Coleman Evanston 8-Person Tent with Screen Room was a great choice for my camping trip. It provided a spacious and comfortable environment, while also offering a bug-free experience. Despite a few minor drawbacks, I believe this tent would be an excellent option for anyone planning a camping adventure.

The Coleman OneSource 6-Person Camping Dome Tent is the perfect companion for outdoor adventures with friends and family. Setting up the tent in my backyard under the sun took only 10 minutes, and the fan feature made sure I stayed cool during that hot summer day. The LED lighting system brightened up the tent, making it an enjoyable place to hang out.
The tent's OneSource Li-Ion rechargeable battery powered not only the integrated fan and LED lighting system but also charged my smartphone, making it a versatile and eco-friendly choice. The included rainfly and weather-resistant features added peace of mind in case of sudden showers.
Although the tent could fit more people, it was cozy enough for my family of four. The ample storage pouches provided a convenient place to store our essentials, while the netting around the tent allowed for enhanced ventilation to keep things fresh inside.
Overall, the Coleman OneSource 6-Person Camping Dome Tent offered a comfortable and enjoyable outdoor experience for my family, and the easy setup, battery-powered features, and weather-resistance made it a winner in our book.

I recently had the chance to try out the Coleman Skydome Camping Tent at our family camping trip. This tent was quick and easy to set up, taking less than 5 minutes. One feature that stood out to me was the full-fly vestibule, providing extra weather protection and additional storage space. The nearly vertical walls also gave us an extra 20% more headroom compared to a traditional dome tent, making it comfortable for everyone inside.
However, there were a few downsides as well. The front door zipper design seemed problematic at times, causing issues when trying to access the tent. Additionally, there was a small hole that appeared in the floor after our first use, though we're unsure if it was already there or not. The tent was also quite heavy at 20 lbs, making it difficult to transport.
Overall, the Coleman Skydome Camping Tent had its ups and downs. The ease of setup and extra space were definitely pluses, but the zipper design and the tent's weight were drawbacks.

Buyer's Guide

Choosing the right Coleman dog tent involves considering several important factors to ensure your dog is comfortable and safe during outdoor adventures. In this guide, we'll discuss key features, considerations, and general advice to help you make the best decision.

Additional Features

Some Coleman dog tents offer additional features such as mesh windows for increased airflow, detachable rainfly for flexible weather protection, and sewn-in floors to prevent leakage and provide extra insulation.

2024.05.21 12:05 258k AITA for not Wanting to be Kissed in my Sleep?

Tl;dr: My girlfriend kisses me and sucks my fingers in my sleep and I don’t like it because it feels uncomfortable & I don’t want to be late to work since I was already warned.
My gf (21F) has been staying w/ me (23F) so that I can help her get on her feet. I offered her a job working for my mom and I since she hasn’t really worked before and it’s hasn’t been perfect, but we’re working on it. Since she has been here however, I had been showing up late to work more often than not. My mom is my boss so I get a bit of leniency, however, she is starting to get upset and WILL fire me as she has done other family members and friends who took her kindness for weakness. She pulled me in her office and told me not to be late anymore and so I have been trying to not to be late as you shouldn’t when you have a job.
The issues: My gf is the reason that I am late all of the time. She is never up and ready before 8:30am. I expressed that we need to be gone before then or else neither of us will have a job and she has been trying to do better but she takes too long to get ready.
Another issue is that she doesn’t respect me wanting to go to sleep. One night she was mad I didn’t want to wake up and watch a movie at 2am and claimed I didn’t love her; I do, I just have to work. Twice now, she has tried to wake me up at 2 or 3am w/ kisses on my lips, neck, and everywhere else, and I asked her to not do that while I sleep. She even sucks my fingers. She know I am very sensitive when it comes to being touched and while I love being touched by her usually, in my sleep, it makes me uncomfortable. I know it shouldn’t be this was but unauthorized touching gives me anxiety through the roof. On top of that, I need to be sleep because I can’t be late to work. I told her this, and she stormed out claiming that I don’t love her and ITAH.
Reddit, AITAH? I want to make it up to her, but I would like to hear what you all think first.

Very weak Tornado (if it even could be called as such) passing in Bavaria.
A very weak tornado (no destruction)
A very weak tornado (if one could call it even so) passed our house. We could see quick rotation of a "funnel"-like structure of foggy cloud pieces, but it did not do any reportable damage. Guys from the House up on the hill said just "Wind picked up so that you could hear it whisteling and the gusts moved a full trashbin over their parking lot. Also, a single, very old rotten tree was broken and some shingles on the roof had been loosened and misaligned... And i think the Windmill up on the Hill came into a "Stop", the blades came to a halt.

Few games in recent times have been able to do what Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 has done: make me feel so engaged and immersed that I wish the feeling would never stop. It is a game that will keep you in constant awe throughout the playtime with its fantastic and mysterious story, incredible graphic and sound presentation and realistic and brutal combat that will keep you on the edge of your seat the entire time.
But Why Tho? - Mick Abrahamson - 7.5 / 10
Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II won’t be for everyone. But if you are looking for a brutal continuation of a fantastic story that feels like you’re actually playing a movie, you’ll have a great time here.
CGMagazine - Justin Wood - 7 / 10
Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 starts incredibly strong in the first half, but after certain revelations, the story speeds up to a point where the conclusion feels rushed and half-baked.
COGconnected - Mark Steighner - 95 / 100
It has been a very long time since I played a game as assured, polished, and emotionally affecting as Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2.
Cerealkillerz - Steve Brieller - German - 7.9 / 10
If you expect an immersive but not so interactive “game”, Senua’s Saga Hellblade II delivers a short yet intense experience. Ninja Theory has once again skillfully created an impressive atmosphere, as they did in Senua’s Sacrifice. Unfortunately, the issues remain as well: Puzzles and combat are too easy and there is no variety in either. So please keep in mind, that this is more a Hellblade 1.5 than a true sequel.
Checkpoint Gaming - Charlie Kelly - 10 / 10
Senua's Saga: Hellblade II is well worth the wait and is a serious game of the year contender. Senua's follow-up journey is the best exploration of mental health that we've seen in games to date, using incredibly striking visual imagery, metaphors and immersive soundscapes to have you feel right there next to her. In what has to be the most photo-realistic game of all time, you're guaranteed to be constantly taken by the hero's adventure as you take in the beautiful and often haunting Viking Iceland. Through mud and dirt, blood and bones, Senua and Ninja Theory in turn bare all to you, the player. A masterpiece, benchmark and magnum opus, Hellblade II is crucial storytelling you won't soon forget.
Console Creatures - Patrick Tremblay - Recommended
With Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2, Ninja Theory shows that video games can be more than simple entertainment: they can be profound artistic and emotional explorations, capable of touching and transforming those who play them. This is an unforgettable journey into the heart of Iceland's darkness, where every step of Senua is a step towards self-discovery.
Digital Trends - Tomas Franzese - 4 / 5
Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 is a visual stunner for Xbox even if its gameplay isn't too creative.
Echo Boomer - David Fialho - Portuguese - Essential
Ninja Theory has finally delivered the long-awaited and provocative sequel to Hellblade, with one of the most impressive interactive cinematic experiences of the generation, which makes you question what is real and leaves you dreaming of the graphic potential of future games still on current consoles.
Enternity.gr - Christos Chatzisavvas - Greek - 9.5 / 10
With Senua's Saga: Hellblade II, Ninja Theory builds the game it dreamed of, creating a title on a larger scale than any other.
Eurogamer - Johnny Chiodini - 5 / 5
Hellblade 2 continues Senua's story with grace, confidence, surprising brutality and thundering conviction.
GAMES.CH - Olaf Bleich - German - 89%
The game sucks you skin and hair into its fantasy world and creates such an intense bond with the characters and their stories that you want to know at every second how the adventure ends.
Game Informer - Marcus Stewart - 9 / 10
Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II’s conclusion ends on another strong note, and despite my initial reservations about continuing Senua’s story, I walked away happy to see her conquer new monsters, both literal and metaphorical.
GameSpot - Jess Cogswell - 6 / 10
Hellblade 2 is perhaps the most visually remarkable Xbox title to date, but is ultimately undermined by its emphasis on fidelity over story and gameplay.
GamingTrend - Cassie Peterson - 95 / 100
Senua's Saga: Hellblade II is a stunning and immersive storytelling experience that really puts the player into the mind of its titular character. It's even more narratively-focused than the first game (not to its detriment), with a bigger emphasis on how Senua sees and interacts with the world around her. The whole experience from start to finish has been beyond memorable.
Generación Xbox - Pedro del Pozo - Spanish - 9.3 / 10
Ninja Theory manages to place Senua in the Olympus of videogames with the most visually and sonorously powerful game we have seen so far. A spectacular, stunning and awe-inspiring journey.
IGN - Tristan Ogilvie - 8 / 10
Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II is another Viking-worthy feast for the senses that meets the high bar set by its predecessor, even if it never really manages to clear it.
INVEN - Soojin Kim - Korean - 8.5 / 10
The game's high level of immersion makes you want to play it from start to finish in one sitting. With outstanding audiovisual presentation and effects, it gives the feeling that you're playing a movie, not watching it. However, the gameplay elements, such as combat and puzzles, still lack significant meaning, which leads to rather disappoint feelings.
Kakuchopurei - Jonathan Leo - 80 / 100
While the story & gameplay's broad strokes might be familiar, Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2's execution, perspective, and overall production values are just stellar and highlights Ninja Theory's strengths in delivering what it does best: story-heavy cinematic gaming. The characters are fleshed out and well-written, with proper focus on your main character and her turmoils that carry over from the first game, the fighting feels weighty and challenging without being completely frustrating, and the HUD-less approach to presentation is welcome.
Kotaku - Claire Jackson - Unscored
A spellbinding meditation on anguish and compassion, Hellblade II delivers one of the most gripping interactive and sensory experiences of 2024
Merlin'in Kazanı - Murat Oktay - Turkish - 89 / 100
The chaotic story of Senua continues. We set out to take revenge on the Viking raiders who have inflicted devastating losses on the people of Orkney.
Metro GameCentral - GameCentral - 5 / 10
A joyless slog of barely interactive entertainment and a muddled portrayal of mental illness… that just so happens to have the best graphics ever on a video game console.
MondoXbox - Giuseppe Genga - Italian - 9.5 / 10
Senua's Saga: Hellblade II is a true masterpiece: a deep and highly immersive narrative experience that manages to make us feel all the protagonist's torment within an impressively realistic world. Ninja Theory reveals itself to be one of the most valuable studios in the Xbox stable here, reaching levels of absolute excellence in graphics, audio, narration, and acting. A must-play.
New Game Network - Alex Varankou - 70 / 100
Senua's Saga: Hellblade II keeps the basics intact, and while a strong lead character, great animations, and simple but enjoyable combat continue to deliver, the poor pacing and performance issues prevent this sequel from breaking free of its past.
Nexus Hub - Sam Aberdeen - 8 / 10
Senua's Saga: Hellblade II is the best-looking game we've ever played - a true visual powerhouse backed by an emotionally charged story and gripping dark fantasy setting, if you can look past some of its shortcomings.
One More Game - Chris Garcia - 9 / 10
Hellblade 2 is a triumph in masterful storytelling and impeccable audio design for Ninja Theory. It is an emotionally powerful experience that depicts a sensitive subject that is hardly talked about in the medium.
To achieve this, the game stripped out several features and systems like combat and exploration in favor of a deeper narrative affair. This is not for everyone, but it is something I would encourage everyone to try at least try out.
Oyungezer Online - Onur Kaya - Turkish - 8 / 10
Next gen graphics and presentation is now among us, next gen game design on the other hand, will be running late.
PC Gamer - Robin Valentine - 58 / 100
Despite its greater scale and visual splendour, this sequel fails to escape the shadow of its predecessor with a muddled tale that Senua herself feels out of place in.
PCGamesN - Cheri Faulkner - 9 / 10
Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 is an impeccable story of coming to terms with trauma and making difficult decisions, punctuated by moments of outstanding beauty and strength.
Pixel Arts - Danial Dehghani - Persian - 9 / 10
Hellblade 2 is a stellar example of a sequel done right, building on the elements that made the original a landmark in gaming. It stays true to its roots, prioritizing depth and atmosphere over broad appeal. Fans of the first game will find much to love here, as it remains a unique and compelling experience. However, if the original didn't resonate with you, Hellblade 2 follows a similar path and might not change your mind.
Polygon - Yussef Cole - Unscored
Where the first game felt like a journey of self-discovery, both for Senua and for the player, Hellblade 2 feels more invested in creating the myth of Senua: Senua as legendary giant slayer, as mystical seer touched by the underworld.
Press Start - Brodie Gibbons - 9 / 10
Senua's Saga: Hellblade II is yet another arresting, artful chapter in an adventure now two games long. Though it might approach iteration with a very safe hand, only going so far as to correct the original's shortcomings, Ninja Theory's clear strengths in story craft, audiovisual design, as well as their care for the dark subject matter manage to shine through brighter than ever before.
Rectify Gaming - Tyler Nienburg - 10 / 10
Senua's Saga: Hellblade II emerges as a visual and storytelling masterpiece, and is unquestionably the best-looking game I've witnessed on Xbox Series X since its launch.
Rock, Paper, Shotgun - Rick Lane - Unscored
A more uncompromising version of the first game, Hellblade 2 offers a well told story and immaculate presentation. But it's also even simpler, to the point where it treats interaction like an inconvenience.
SECTOR.sk - Matúš Štrba - Slovak - 9.5 / 10
Senua's Saga: Hellblade II is, at its core, a short game, but an excellent one. But it's not for everyone. It's a bloody and often disgusting experience based on strong emotions and immersion in a character that just won't let you go. It's more of an artistic experience than a traditional game.
Saudi Gamer - Arabic - 10 / 10
An exceptionally well realized portrayal of Senua's struggle both real and praying on her fears, with brutal and satisfying combat and puzzles that require you to appreciate the world. It successfully continues what the first game started and improves upon almost every aspect.
Seasoned Gaming - Ainsley Bowden - 9 / 10
Senua's Saga is a journey unlike any other. It's fantastical, evocative, and demonstrative of Ninja Theory being masters of their craft.
Shacknews - TJ Denzer - 9 / 10
Hellblade 2 still does incredibly well. The new story is weighty, the audio is exceptional, the scenery is ridiculously dense and rich, and the combat feels intense and impactful in new and interesting ways.
Slant Magazine - Justin Clark - 3.5 / 5
The newest chapter in Senua’s story is powerfully told but feels like it’s missing a few pages.
Spaziogames - Gianluca Arena - Italian - 7.6 / 10
Senua's Saga is as strong as its predecessor, if not more, and delivers both in its storytelling and on the technical side. The gameplay, however, has still a lot of room for improvements and boils down to almost-QTE combat and boring puzzles. An experience more than an actual and so-called video game, but an experience worth living nonetheless.
Stevivor - Jay Ball - 9.5 / 10
Senua’s Saga Hellblade 2 is a video game only on its surface. Scratch that away and you’ll see that it’s a deep, thought-provoking, interactive experience proving games are an art form that demands skill and talent. Ninja Theory should be very proud.
TechRaptor - Robert Scarpinito - 7.5 / 10
Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II features intense audio, beautiful graphics, and wonderful camera work, creating a powerful presentation that’s worth experiencing. However, the narrative doesn’t quite stick the landing.

The Outerhaven Productions - Jordan Andow - 5 / 5
Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II sets a new bar for performances and presentation. Combined with smart improvements to gameplay, it is arguably the most cinematic, immersive, story-driven experience we’ve ever seen.
TheSixthAxis - Dominic Leighton - Unscored
Just like its forbear, Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II is an oppressive, powerful and haunting example of the power of video games, and one that sets its own parameters for what a digital experience can be. It is a game that must be experienced, not least because, there’s nothing else quite like it.
Tom's Hardware Italia - Andrea Riviera - Italian - 10 / 10
What Ninja Theory has achieved transcends reality, creating a work that is practically perfect for what it aimed to be: an audiovisual adventure with a strong narrative component. Beyond state-of-the-art graphics and sound that will undoubtedly set a standard in the coming years, what truly astonishes is the maturity with which the team has taken an excellent game like the first Hellblade and molded it into something so qualitatively impressive that it becomes difficult to even describe. Hellblade 2 feels like a living, breathing shapeshifter, manipulating its surroundings around the player with precision and consistency, making it one of the most visually stunning video games of this generation. This is an amazing title that carefully balances its artistic and gaming ambitions, a masterpiece that I encourage any gamer to experience.

Ninja Theory has created an outstanding sequel with Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2. An unforgettable narrative adventure that is brought to life through impeccable sound design, fantastic visuals, and a story that will stick with you long after the final credits roll. Hellblade 2 is one of the best games Xbox has to offer.
TrueGaming - عمر العمودي - Arabic - 8 / 10
Senua's Saga: Hellblade II is a technical achievement for the gaming industry, the visuals are impressive and realistic in a way we haven't seen before and the audio design is very impressive. The game itself though, we think it could've offered more as puzzles are repetitive and combat is quite limited. However, the storytelling is strong in this chapter of Senua's journey, though it feels heavy and depressing.
VideoGamer - Tom Bardwell - 9 / 10

Senua's Saga: Hellblade II is a beautiful but ultimately hollow game. The fantastic presentation props up a story that is less personal and engaging than in the first game, and the gameplay feels like an afterthought. It was great to see Senua again and to see her outside of the grief-misery she was enveloped in during the first game, but beyond that, there's not much to Hellblade II. It's a short and less memorable experience that shows off Ninja Theory's visual craft to its fullest - but it achieves little else.
Xbox Achievements - Dan Webb - 90%
While Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 might not set any new standards with its simplistic gameplay mechanics, from an audio-visual experience standpoint, it's frankly quite a stunning experience. Hellblade 2 is as close to playing the leading role in a big budget movie as you’re likely to get, and Ninja Theory’s continued coverage on the complexities of severe mental health issues deserves to be commended once more. Bravo, Ninja Theory. Bravo.
XboxEra - Jon Clarke - 10 / 10
Despite the backing of a company as large and as well-funded as Microsoft, Ninja Theory have, in my opinion, nurtured their independent spirit and kept it well and truly alive in every facet of Senua's Saga: Hellblade II. Senua's Saga: Hellblade II is undoubtedly one of the best games of this year. Not only does it shine in terms of audio-visual setting, but also in terms of story. The only element that could be considered caveat is at the same time its greatest asset, namely cinematography. Sometimes one gets the impression that the developers, in an effort to achieve the best possible effect, had to make a lot of compromises, which significantly limited the gameplay possibilities. Nevertheless, for a great narrative and immersion, this is something to turn a blind eye to.

Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II’s conclusion ends on another strong note, and despite my initial reservations about continuing Senua’s story, I walked away happy to see her conquer new monsters, both literal and metaphorical.

Senua's Saga is as strong as its predecessor, if not more, and delivers both in its storytelling and on the technical side. This elevates the medium to a new communicative level, capable of evoking emotions and surprising players from start to finish. Experiences like Hellblade 2, which leave a lasting impression on the soul, are few and far between in a generation, and we can only rejoice in seeing how the beautiful artistic vision of the Ninja Theory team has become a reality.

There is simply nothing else like Hellblade 2 on the market and that alone kept me enthralled the whole way through. Its pared-down elements might not be mechanically complex, but they give the story a momentum that makes it hard to put down. Ninja Theory tackles themes that are challenging and not often seen in games, with a backdrop that vacillates between the epic and the intimate.
Too Much Gaming - Carlos Hernandez - 5 / 5
Hellblade 2 feels like a living, breathing shapeshifter, manipulating its surroundings around the player with precision and consistency, making it one of the most visually stunning video games of this generation. This is an amazing title that carefully balances its artistic and gaming ambitions, a masterpiece that I encourage any gamer to experience.
TrueAchievements - Sean Carey - 9 / 10
WellPlayed - James Wood - 6 / 10
Senua's Saga: Hellblade II is an achievement in visual fidelity but fails to define itself amid clumsy retreads and unengaging new ideas.
Windows Central - Zachary Boddy - 4.5 / 5
A game like Senua's Saga: Hellblade II can only be the result of years of passion and talent, captivating you with its unbelievable visuals, impeccable audio design, and powerful thought-provoking narrative. It's a veritable masterpiece, but it's just shy of perfection thanks to an average PC port and some minor criticisms.
Worth Playing - Chris "Atom" DeAngelus - 7 / 10
It's brutal. It's breath-taking. It's brilliant. If this is “Independent AAA”?

2024.05.21 08:45 trebort5050 UC Review - Anxiety

Hi guys,
I was looking for some advice/past experiences with Universal Credit. I've not had a review before and I've submitted my bank statements and ID as they asked for.
I'm concerned as I'm renting a room from a friend for a set amount on the rental agreement, but on my bank statement I've been paying them around £100 less than the actual amount because we agreed that as I have a car and they don't I let them use it for long journeys between their family and here a couple of times a month. I'm worried DWP will take issue with this.
Do you have any advice or past experience?
My anxiety is through the roof and I keep being sick from the stress of this.

2024.05.21 06:34 actionelectrical1 Commercial Solar Installation: A Smart Investment for Your Business

Commercial Solar Installation: A Smart Investment for Your Business
As the world shifts towards sustainable energy solutions, businesses are increasingly turning to commercial solar installation to reduce operational costs and minimize their environmental footprint. Solar power is not only a renewable and clean source of energy but also a smart investment that offers long-term financial benefits. In this blog, we will explore the advantages of commercial solar installation, the process involved, and why now is the perfect time for businesses to make the switch.
The Benefits of Commercial Solar Installation
Cost Savings: One of the most compelling reasons for businesses to invest in commercial solar installation is the significant reduction in energy costs. Solar panels can generate a substantial portion of the electricity required for business operations, lowering utility bills and providing protection against rising energy prices.
Return on Investment (ROI): The initial cost of installing solar panels can be offset by the long-term savings on energy bills. Many businesses find that their investment pays for itself within a few years. Additionally, various government incentives, tax credits, and rebates can further reduce the upfront costs and improve ROI.
Environmental Impact: Solar energy is a clean and renewable resource that reduces greenhouse gas emissions and dependence on fossil fuels. By investing in commercial solar installation, businesses can demonstrate their commitment to sustainability and corporate social responsibility, which can enhance their brand reputation and appeal to eco-conscious customers.
Energy Independence: Solar power systems provide businesses with greater energy independence. By generating their own electricity, businesses can reduce their reliance on the grid and mitigate the impact of power outages or fluctuations in energy supply.
Increase in Property Value: Commercial properties equipped with solar power systems often see an increase in market value. Prospective buyers or tenants are likely to view the energy savings and sustainable features as attractive benefits, making the property more desirable.

The Commercial Solar Installation Process
Initial Consultation and Site Assessment: The first step in the commercial solar installation process is an initial consultation with a solar energy provider. During this stage, the provider will assess your energy needs, review your current energy consumption, and evaluate the suitability of your property for solar installation. This includes examining the roof condition, orientation, and shading.
System Design and Proposal: Based on the site assessment, the solar provider will design a customized solar power system tailored to your business's specific needs. They will provide a detailed proposal outlining the system design, projected energy production, cost estimates, and potential savings.
Financing Options and Incentives: Many solar providers offer flexible financing options to help businesses manage the cost of commercial solar installation. These can include loans, leases, or power purchase agreements (PPAs). Additionally, your provider will assist you in identifying and applying for available incentives, tax credits, and rebates.
Permitting and Approvals: Once the system design is finalized and financing is arranged, the next step is obtaining the necessary permits and approvals from local authorities. Your solar provider will handle this process, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Installation: The actual installation of the solar panels and associated equipment is typically completed within a few weeks, depending on the size and complexity of the system. The installation team will ensure that the system is securely mounted, properly wired, and connected to your building’s electrical system.
Inspection and Commissioning: After installation, the system will undergo a thorough inspection to ensure it meets all safety and performance standards. Once approved, the system will be commissioned, and you will start generating solar power.
Monitoring and Maintenance: Post-installation, your solar provider will offer monitoring services to track the performance of the system and ensure it operates efficiently. Regular maintenance and occasional cleaning may be required to maintain optimal performance.
Why Now is the Time for Commercial Solar Installation
The push towards renewable energy is stronger than ever, with advancements in solar technology making it more affordable and efficient. The availability of government incentives and favorable financing options make commercial solar installation a financially viable choice for many businesses. Moreover, as consumers and stakeholders increasingly prioritize sustainability, businesses that invest in solar power can gain a competitive edge and enhance their market position.
Commercial solar installation offers a multitude of benefits, from significant cost savings and strong ROI to positive environmental impact and increased property value. By transitioning to solar energy, businesses can achieve energy independence, contribute to a sustainable future, and enjoy long-term financial advantages. Now is the perfect time to consider commercial solar installation and take the first step towards a brighter, greener future for your business.

2024.05.21 06:28 cicadapizza In-laws house is gross, need advice on how to tell them I don’t feel comfortable bringing new baby to visit.

Husband grew up in a home with lots of small dogs constantly pooping/peeing on the floor. His parents were wannabe backyard breeders at one point and when that ended still kept 5 dogs. Met him in high school and was absolutely shocked by how disgusting it was when I would come over, entire house reaked of urine/feces. He knew it was gross but didn’t fully grasp how out of the norm it was. His room was always clean. The rest of his house apart from the floors wasn’t too bad, lots of dust but no garbage lying around or junk stacked about. Their dogs all eventually died off so the past 5 or so years there has been no poop/pee on the floors when we visit thank god.
His dad had his own room and bathroom. Then his mom had her own room and my husband shared a bathroom with her, along with all guests. When my husband was there he kept the bathroom clean. When he moved out and we would go visit the bathroom slowly got worse and worse. I never used the bathroom there after he moved out.
We got married and moved across the country shortly after high school. We visit once a year for a couple of days and stay in a hotel. MIL bathroom was already at heavy traffic truck stop level just months after my husband moved out so when visiting we would always go to the bathroom before heading over from the hotel.
On the most recent visit my husband couldn’t hold it and went pee. When we left he said it was the worst bathroom he had ever seen in person. There was so much build up of grime/dirt in the sink that it was unusable, the toilet was covered in excrement, the shower looked about the same. He said it looked like a homeless camp bathroom. The rest of the house is still REALLY dusty, like one chair legit had 1/4 inch of straight dust, but no junk/trash lying around. It’s obvious that his dad cleans the kitchen each day and I assume keeps his bathroom clean but doesn’t clean the mom’s bathroom.
I don’t even know how to go about addressing this with them or even if we should. But we will be having a baby soon and I don’t feel comfortable bringing my child into that home at all. I honestly don’t even like my in laws, I feel like they didn’t ever prioritize my husband or take care of him in anyway other than providing a roof over his head. Yet he is an only child and will be burdened with taking care of them. They are in their 60s but don’t take care of themselves at all so that time will come soon.
I just don’t know how to get the message across that we don’t want to bring our new baby to such a gross house. We have repeatedly tried to buy plane tickets to come visit us instead of us visit them but they won’t do it.
TL;DR In-laws house is gross and unsafe for our new baby. I don’t feel comfortable bringing the baby to visit and don’t know how to address their living conditions with them.

2024.05.21 06:15 StrongerThanU_Reddit A Theory I brewed up at like 11:00 at night about the subclasses and a theoretical 3rd darkness subclass. (Originally posted in a youtube comment section. As well as reposted from r/DestinyTheGame.)

Here's a link to where I originally posted this.
https://www.youtube.com/shorts/Xda-un-ppNA
Edit: Take this with like, 27 and a half grains of salt. I'm a Titan main, so lore nerds please don't put a pipe bomb in my mailbox if I get something wrong.
Edit 2: Reworked my theories on Strife (and changed its name to Strain), and Arc.
Edit 3: Reworked/added to Strand. Posted on Reddit for further review by the Destiny lore and theorycrafting community (AKA the Warlocks).
Edit 4: Reworked some structuring in the post itself. Added more/a better TL;DR section. Thought about removing this section because it's getting big.
TL;DR for subclass talk:
Maybe the subclasses are all different parts of physics guys.
Solar: Fusion (just look at the sun; it happens in the sun at ALL times)/heat
Arc: Motion/spacetime/time dilation/ movement of energy itself/"ARC-celeration"c(hehehe)/energy transfer
Void: zero point energy/gravity
Stasis: Absolute zero/stillness/fission (shattering?)
Strand: String theory (probably not)/(what I think it better represents) quantum enTANGLEment/choice
Strain/strife (possible names): entropy/no energy transfeimmovable objects, unstoppable forces, infinite masses and density etc.
Prismatic: theory of everything/unifying quantum theory (darkness) with general relativity (light?)
TL;DR for Strife/Strain supers:
TITANS: For their super they get a force field around them that absorbs damage and then explodes. The explosion stuns all 3 kinds of champions and only happens if damage is taken when shielding. Get half of super back if they take no damage.
WARLOCKS: For the Warlock super you cast a field around you that catches all projectiles shot at you and throws them back at the enemy that shot them. Basically just say "no u" to damage.
HUNTERS: You dead-on sprint through anything in your way. Doubles sprint speed at T3 mobility, but triples at T10. Downside: you can't stop running. Upside: anything you run into just sort of stops existing.
Okay, okay, I'm just going to ramble now. Take note that some terms/concepts here will feel weird and out-of-context without knowledge in these specific subjects.
Let's take a look at Void and Strand: Void could be gravity, a sort of connection that gets stronger as two objects get closer. Strand could be entanglement, a connection that forms a bond between two objects that works (spookily?) at a distance. They are both connections. Also with darkness being based around knowledge, if we look at only one of two entangled particles and it is spinning up then we can know without looking at the other particle that it is spinning down. Look at the Strand Clones; they are copies of the hunter that created them that have been entangled by the hunter. When they dodge, they create an unstable version of themselves that will explode when an enemy comes near it, or just unravel peacefully after a certain amount of time. Strand is often associated with sewing, weaving, and fabrics. Throughout other pop-culture what is also described as being sewn, weaved, or (more commonly) made of fabric? That’s right; space time. I think that strand has something to do with other timelines; other threads of existence. Perhaps the hunter pulls a specter from some other timeline to use as a weapon. (I mean what haven’t Guardians turned into weapons at this point). Maybe when Warlocks weavewalk, they enter another timeline identical to ours with a tether being cast between the two to keep them connected (if you don’t like that make up your own reason for why they stay partially visible in our world).
Alright now let's look at the easiest of the three groupings to talk about: Solar and Stasis. Solar is heat/fusion. Fusion happens in the sun and so it makes sense that solar is a subclass focusing on heat. Look at the buff "Radiant." It doesn't exactly have anything about it pertaining to fire, but I would certainly describe the sun as "Radiant." (this one's iffy but I thought I'd include it anyways). Now look at Stasis. I think that it HEAVILY relates to fission, which is (sort of but not really) the opposite of fusion. Let's look at the stasis debuff, "Slowed." This effect is the opposite of Solar's "Scorched" effect. At 100 stacks of Scorched, a target will ignite. Stars go through this same process at their birth, they slowly gather more and more mass, more and more heat, until eventually fusion happens, the star... ignites. At 100 stacks of "Slowed," however, the target freezes. Then, when damaged the target shatters, like in fission when we break atoms apart and release the energy. The target even shows this release of energy in Destiny because they glow bright then take damage. With fusion being the stronger of the two, it is certainly interesting that this season, Season of the Wish, the season before they drop the "theory of everything," Prismatic, Solar (fusion) is stronger than Stasis (fission). They might just (probably not) deliver this slap across the face in the Lightfall/Season of the Wish finale. Also on the less deep and more obvious side of things, they are both just fire and ice, I mean come on… that’s just cliche 101.
Okay moving on to Arc and Strain (my name for the 3rd Darkness subclass). This one is a bit more difficult. Arc is manifested as lightning. It's described as pertaining to motion and speed. It is "Arc-celeration." Time dilation happens when moving rapidly through space. Because space and time are the same force, the faster you move through space, the slower you move through time. This is very unintuitive, but the slower you move through time, the faster everything else moves through time (from your perspective). If you send a spaceship to the closest solar system (which is about 4 light years away) at the speed of light you will reach it in four years. Well, not really, there's also space dilation. Basically the faster you go towards something the smaller the distance between you and it. That's why a theoretical trip to another solar system at high speeds would have you decelerate after you reach the halfway point, so that you don't get farther from your destination. Satisfied sigh Oh, the complications of relativity, aren't they wonderful! Anyways back to what I was talking about: Arc transfers energy into motion and motion into energy. Thundercrash launches the Titan at high speeds until they hit something, releasing the energy as lightning, damaging the enemy. The Hunters' Arc staff deflects things by transferring their speed into energy and that energy into speed in a different direction. Warlocks use Chaos Reach to conjure stored energy and rapidly accelerate it in a beam of damaging energy. Titans' Fists of Havoc slam to the ground converting their falling momentum into damage like Thundercrash, and when they use their shoulder charge, they punch an enemy, changing their momentum into energy, and transfering that energy into a punch. Arc is energy transferal. Strain might be the opposite of energy transferal. Immovable objects, unstoppable forces, permanent momentum.
Ok ok ok... hear me out (also take these with 27 and a half grains of salt. I'm a Titan and brutality is a part of my culture.):
TITANS: For their super they get a force field tightly hugging their bodies for a short amount of time. The amount of damage they would have taken builds up and as they release this energy, they blast out in an explosion of damage that is completely unstoppable by any form of enemy with any kind of shield (it also stuns all champions). I'm talking Bubble popping power. If they take no damage, they get half of their super energy left and no explosion is caused. I call the Titans' super: UNBREAKABLE WILL
WARLOCKS: For the Warlock super you ground yourself completely and extend this unbreakable field of influence beyond allowing you to move (floating above the ground as always). ANY projectile or attack thrown at you is caught in this field and stopped until the super ends, when you unleash all of these projectiles back at the sender (if they aren't already dead). Melee attacks bounce back and damage whoever just hit you. I'm talking CATCHES Thundercrashes and turns that Titan towards any of their allies and LAUNCHES them. You are THE uno reverse card. I call the Warlocks' super: UNENDING VOLLEY
HUNTERS: You guys are the most mobile of the three classes, thus I have given you a roaming, movement-based super. You dead-on sprint through all that stands in your way. Doubles sprint speed at T3 mobility, but triples at T10 with all speeds between. Downside: you can't stop running. Upside: anything you run into just sort of stops existing. You are a living, breathing, and (most importantly) running .50 cal BMG round. Anything you can't kill in one hit you just run through allowing for another drive-by (through?) to be made. I call the Hunter's super: UNSTOPPABLE SPRINT

Now looking at Prismatic:
Prismatic is the sum of it all, it's the way that general relativity and quantum theory will eventually click into the perfect, symmetrical, equation. "The theory of everything," and "The Final Shape," kinda sound similar too. Just saying. ¯\_(-_-)_/¯
I don't have a lot on Prismatic.
All right, that's it. That's all I'll say. I could keep going. I could talk about Blink working on both Void and Arc (which I will a little anyways >:D) Void works 'cause of the physics behind hawking radiation and arc working because of what happens at "absolute fast" which is similar to absolute hot but instead the motion is given direction and not just molecules bouncing around really fast. Absolute hot is the opposite of absolute zero by the way for those that don't know. I could talk about my theory on resonance. But I won't, because this comment is already WAY TOO LONG and talking about anything more is going to make my brain start holding my heart ransom, threatening a heart attack.
That took an hour and a half to type... :/
And another half hour to edit. -_-
And another to do it again. T-T

2024.05.21 06:03 Intelligent_Local_38 Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 - Vast improvement over the original in (almost) every way for single players

As someone who grew up with Nickelodeon and loves Smash Bros, Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 seemed like it would be right up my alley. But, because I felt the first All-Star Brawl was lacking, I waited until a sale to pick this one up. Now that I finally got some time with it I have to say, it’s better than the original in just about every way.
Let me preface the rest of this review by saying, as a patient gamer, my primary interest in fighting games is the single player experience. I’m not into competitive fighting or online, so my takeaways are about what it’s like to play this game on your own.
The first All-Star Brawl had almost nothing for single players. There was a simple arcade mode and not much else. I’m happy to say All-Star Brawl 2 has greatly expanded the single player content.
What’s great: The campaign is perfect for single players. It’s a story mode with Vlad Plasmius from Danny Phantom as the antagonist. The campaign is a roguelike where you pick your path and progress through a series of stages to reach a boss fight against characters such as Shredder or the Flying Dutchman and move on to the next world. There are three worlds total.
Levels are varied. Some have you fighting mobs of enemies, some 1-on-1 fights with other fighters, a few simple platforming sections, and some mini games. There are also some spots on the map where an NPC like Hugh Neutron or Mrs. Puff let you pick a power up to boost your abilities or stats in classic roguelike fashion. Also just like games such as Hades, you need to clear a few runs to finish the story.
The campaign offers a good variety of activities and it’s fun to have a fully-voiced story to play through. For Nickelodeon fans, there are plenty of fun interactions between the characters. I enjoyed seeing moments like Azula interacting with the Cabbage Salesman or the Ninja Turtles meeting Gary the snail. It’s good fun and made me smile more than a few times.
On that note, fighter variety is good. There are some notable omissions from the first game (more on that later), but overall I thought there was a good range of fighters that felt unique and had fun move sets. Everyone is also all voiced and (most) of the original voice actors have returned.
What’s ok: Like most fighters, this game features an arcade mode. It’s fine, but does get repetitive. Unlike the campaign where runs are more varied, the arcade follows a pattern where similar stages are in the same spot each time and you always fight Vlad at the end. It’s unnecessary because he’s already the campaign antagonist and, without going into spoilers, eventually the campaign has 2 final boss options you may face. So there’s a little more variety instead of Vlad each and every time. But the arcade is still serviceable for what it is and nice for quick play sessions. I did complete it with every character, so it was fun enough. That brings me to unlockables.
There are things to unlock in this game but most of them aren’t very exciting. there’s a gallery where you get images, all of which are just screenshots taken from the game, and then trophies. There are a lot of trophies and I’m honestly not even sure how you get all of them. Every character has 5 different trophies (I think?) which are statues of them as bronze, silver, etc. You seem to get them based on your campaign run score so it’s potentially a lot to unlock. I only have a handful of trophies from the characters I used for runs and bosses (you get boss ones for beating them at certain difficulties).
Other unlockables are alternate costumes from the campaign. All of them are a “possessed fighter” and “shadow” variant and you get them by beating the character multiple times in campaign runs. It’s a little annoying though because it’s pure luck on whether or not you find a character in a run.
Also in the campaign, you can spend currency collected from runs on stuff in the campaign hub. There are abilities you can use in new runs, roguelike style, to help you get further each time, and then cosmetics for the hub such as Appa or a slime fountain. So on the one hand, it’s nice there is plenty of stuff to unlock, gives you something to do or work toward, but on the flip side, unlocking trophies for a gallery or photos from the game aren’t very enticing.
What’s bad: So I said “fighter variety” was great, and it is in the sense that there are a good amount of fighters (25 base game plus 4 DLC) and that they feel unique. However, there are some serious omissions from the first game that are quite baffling.
Some characters removed are CatDog and Oblina, who were the only representatives from their respective shows, meaning those shows aren’t represented in the game at all. Other omissions were fan favorites like Sandy and Toph. And the ones that bugs me the most is the removal of Leonardo and Michelangelo of the Ninja Turtles yet Raphael and Donatello were added. So close to having all four turtles together. It’s frustrating that the roster feels incomplete because popular characters from the first game are missing. Now, if they were to add old characters as DLC that could be one thing, which brings me to the other thing I wish was better…
The DLC selection is questionable. The two fighters that are out now, Mr. Krabs and Zuko, are great. Two solid fan favorites. The two characters coming up? Uncle Iroh of Avatar and Rocksteady from Ninja Turtles…
What? Iroh is a great character, but it feels weird to add two Avatar characters in DLC of only four. It’s also odd because Azula is already in the game, so the game has three firebenders. It takes away from the variety a lot. And then Rocksteady? What were they thinking? One half of Shredder’s goons is the TMNT representation they want to add? A strange decision, which is a shame, because I don’t see myself or very many people eagerly returning to the game when those two characters drop.
Tl;dr Verdict: For those who enjoy single player experiences in fighting games, Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 is a vast improvement over its predecessor, despite some lackluster unlockables and questionable roster omissions.

How to Save Money on Car Shipping: Insider Tips and Tricks
Shipping your car can be a costly endeavor, but with some savvy strategies and insider knowledge, you can significantly reduce the overall cost. Whether you're moving across the country or simply need to transport a vehicle, these tips and tricks can help you save money without compromising on quality or service.
  1. Choose the Right Time to Ship:
calendar with dates marked off
  • Avoid peak seasons: Car shipping demand typically peaks during the summer months and holidays, leading to higher prices. Consider shipping your car during the off-season (fall or winter) to secure lower rates.
  • Be flexible with dates: If your schedule allows, being flexible with your pickup and delivery dates can give you more negotiating power and potentially lower your cost.
  1. Opt for Open Transport:

  • Open car carriers are significantly cheaper than enclosed carriers. Unless you're shipping a luxury, classic, or exotic car, open transport is usually sufficient and cost-effective.
  1. Consider Terminal-to-Terminal Shipping:
  • If you can drive your car to and from a terminal, terminal-to-terminal shipping is often cheaper than door-to-door service.
  1. Get Multiple Quotes:

  • Don't settle for the first quote you receive. Get quotes from multiple reputable car shipping companies to compare prices and services.
  1. Negotiate:
  • Don't be afraid to negotiate with the car shipping companies. You might be able to get a better deal if you're willing to haggle a bit.
  1. Reduce Your Car's Weight:
  • Remove any unnecessary items from your car before shipping, such as personal belongings, roof racks, or aftermarket accessories. The lighter your car, the lower the shipping cost.
  1. Choose the Right Carrier:
  • Research different car shipping companies and choose one with a proven track record and good customer reviews.
  1. Look for Discounts:
  • Many car shipping companies offer discounts for students, military personnel, senior citizens, and repeat customers.
  1. Consider Ship and Drive Services:
  • If you're moving long distances, consider driving part of the way and having your car shipped for the rest of the journey. This can be a cost-effective option if you're flexible and willing to put in some driving time.
  1. Book Your Shipment in Advance:
  • Booking your car shipment well in advance gives you more time to compare prices and find the best deal. Last-minute bookings often come with higher prices due to limited availability.
Bonus Tip:
  • Join online forums and communities dedicated to car shipping to get insights, advice, and recommendations from fellow car owners.
By following these insider tips and tricks, you can save a significant amount of money on your next car shipment. Remember, thorough research, careful planning, and smart decision-making are key to securing a cost-effective and reliable car shipping service.
