2024.05.21 16:01 althinfos Shred Fat Fast: Can You Really Lose Weight in 30 Days?

Ever wondered, "How to lose weight in 30 days?" It's a common question with a tempting yet complex answer. While shedding massive amounts of weight quickly might sound appealing, it's crucial to understand healthy and sustainable weight loss practices. This blog post will explore realistic strategies to jumpstart your weight loss journey within 30 days and set you on the path to long-term success.
Setting Realistic Goals:
It's important to set achievable goals to avoid discouragement. Aiming to lose 1-2 pounds per week is a safe and sustainable approach recommended by health experts. This translates to a total of 4-8 pounds within 30 days, a fantastic kickstart to your weight loss journey!
Diet for Weight Loss:
Your diet plays a central role in weight loss. Focus on a balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. These foods are packed with essential nutrients and fiber, keeping you feeling full for longer and reducing cravings. Lean protein sources like fish, chicken, or beans are also crucial for building muscle mass, which helps boost metabolism.
Reduce Processed Foods, Sugary Drinks, and Unhealthy Fats:
Processed foods are often loaded with unhealthy fats, added sugars, and sodium, all contributing to weight gain. Sugary drinks like soda and juice are high in empty calories and can sabotage your weight loss efforts. Similarly, unhealthy fats found in fried foods and processed meats can increase your risk of chronic diseases.
Increase Activity Level:
Exercise is another vital component of weight loss. Aim for at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise or 75 minutes of vigorous-intensity exercise per week. This doesn't have to be strenuous. Activities like brisk walking, jogging, swimming, or cycling are excellent choices. Even incorporating short bursts of activity throughout the day, like taking the stairs or doing jumping jacks during commercials, can make a difference.
Stay Hydrated:
Drinking plenty of water throughout the day is crucial for weight loss. Water keeps you feeling full, reduces calorie intake, and aids digestion. Aim for eight glasses of water daily or adjust based on your individual needs.
Prioritize Sleep:
Getting enough sleep is often overlooked when it comes to weight loss. When sleep-deprived, your body produces more ghrelin, a hunger hormone, and less leptin, a hormone that signals satiety. Aim for 7-8 hours of quality sleep each night to regulate your hormones and support weight loss efforts.
Mindful Eating:
Mindful eating practices can significantly impact your weight loss journey. Pay attention to hunger and fullness cues. Eat slowly, savor your food, and avoid distractions while eating. This allows your body to register satiety signals and prevents overeating.
IV. Conclusion:
Losing weight in 30 days can be a fantastic kickstart to your weight loss journey. Remember, consistency and healthy habits are key to long-term success. Don't get discouraged if the scale doesn't move as quickly as you'd like – focus on progress, not perfection. By incorporating these strategies into your routine, you'll be well on your way to achieving your weight loss goals!

2024.05.21 16:01 margheritinka How have you created an equitable hiring process? One job req's diversity stats

Curious if anyone has implemented any procedures or protocols to create a faiequitable hiring process? Ones that you feel have been particularly successful?
Our industry is male dominated and highly driven by internal close knit networks plus our hiring practices boil down to who you like the best (unstructured interviews) versus KSAs which is all a recipe for in group hiring and the results confirm this, especially as you get more senior.
We posted a VP role that got a lot of applicants overnight. Because I was using LinkedIn Easy Apply, I could quantify how diverse our pool was (I don't have access to do this when posting via our career site). Even though our industry is male dominated because of the client subject matter (sports), it's not like data analytics, tech or other niche skills. The role I posted was a type of senior account manager, very qualitative and can be learned by anyone.
I went through all applications and this is what I found:
1. Further Review - Suitable for manager screening (closely aligned qualifications) and in salary range =35 around 50% diverse
  1. On Hold - T2 applicants (loosely aligned qualifications) = 9, (75% diverse)
  2. Rejected - Experience not remotely aligned = 22, (90% diverse)
  3. Rejected - Excluded (salary well above range) = 96, (33% diverse)

2024.05.21 15:56 WeakWatercress5479 What score is ideal for a student in this situation? (admins read P.S. pls)

If I wait around for someone who actually has knowledge about this topic, I'll prob get a reply by the time I'm graduating from uni so don't hesitate to answer my question after you read and get a general picture of the situation I'm in, whoever you are.
Unlike pretty much everyone else, I'm not taking the SAT for applying to a Uni/College in the US. I'm gonna use it to apply to a school in Istanbul, Turkey.
I'm Turkish, I live in Turkey and in our country we have a national university exam. It's the kinda exam that consumes students' joy of life throughout 12th grade and in terms of level of difficulty, SAT is nothing compared to it. It's the product of a corrupt system anyway; on average, turkish students who take the test are able to answer only 7 questions of math out of 40. It's literally designed for failure; the questions are meant to be unperceived. And if you wanna study in Turkey (which I do) or if you, financially, don't have a chance to study abroad, you gotta study hard and take it. But I learned that those of us who have another citizenship, other than the Turkish one, have alternatives. I was born in the US therefore have a USA citizenship. I'm a dual citizen. The alternative way for me is renouncing my Turkish citizenship, becoming American only, taking the SAT and applying with the score I get from it, as if I'm a foreigner who wishes to study here. Anyone who has such chance would jump on it and that's what I'm doing. But since this is a procedure that's done so rarely, what I must achieve to guarantee acceptance isn't so clear. This kinda leaves me in an uncertainty. I was able to find the minimum scores some universities I'm considering, require for applying: A uni requires min. 1200 (min. 650 from Maths), another one requires min. 1100 (min. 550 from Maths), another requires min. 1300 (min. 680 from Maths). The reason why they also have requirements specifically for the Math section of the SAT is bcuz the major I want to study is Architecture, that's why. Anyway, a college I'm also considering requires 1000 (min. 600 from the Maths) for application. I have two other colleges in mind but I just can't find the base points they necessitate. I know that my worries probably seem unnecessary when you look at these numbers cuz they're not too exaggerated but there are some important points that must be taken into consideration, as well: The Turkish Ministry of Education has established a certain quota for studying Architecture as a foreign student. And as if that quota isn't limitating enough, schools themselves are given the freedom to reduce that quota as they wish, so they do! Consequently, the quotas of the Architecture programs of these schools I'm looking into, range from 3 to 40, in a country with a population of 85 million lol (One of these published quotas is 3 students, another is 4, another's 15, another's 30 and another one's 40). But that's not all; also, they're not obligated to fill that quota they determine, to the brim, so they don't! Additionally, there's the fact that these are only the D-SAT scores that are required for applying (u need a score higher than the established minimums so that they don't immediately throw ur application in the trash can). It's not like u can start packing once your SAT score exceeds those published min.s. The way I see it, there's no guarantee of anything unless you get a score as high as 1400, 1500 or a perfect 1600. But obvi I'm not sure if "the way I see it" is accurate. So I wanted to ask you redditors about your thoughts. What do you think??
Approx. what score would be ideal in ur opinion?
Thank you in advance :)
(P.S. this doesn't count as a question that's asking smth like "is my score good?". Look, ik that this is a very rare situation but it's not technically 'personal'. Therefore, it obeys the no. 5 rule of this community and shouldn't be getting taken down.)
(P.P.S. This is a question from which's answers, any Turkish student planning to apply to uni/college through the foreigners quota with their SAT score, can benefit from. That's because all of the aforementioned problems, such as the quotas of schools being too small, apply to all the other majors that aren't Archi., as well.)

2024.05.21 15:55 MyBrainBlewAFuse My Self-esteem and skateboarding

So a while back, about a week off of the 8th of May(?), I started skateboarding and I enjoy it alot. I bought I skateboard when I was younger but I never really rode it because I was scared of falling. But then after playing sports I realized that falling was the least of my concerns. After my 14th birthday, I bought myself a skateboard (which I think is fake) and started riding around my parent's work place since that's where there's only flat ground. I rode a couple of times and I learned how to balance myself, push at a C-tier level, and throwdown. I enjoy it a lot and every day after church my mom will drive to a skatepark where I can go. Now me as a person, I developed an inferiorty complex and it usually kicks in whenever I see someone better than me do somethin which I'm still new at. I see a bunch of older teenagers ride and I just hide behind this semi-bowl area which is like a wall and ride there. Anytime some of them ride by, I just freeze up, stop riding and stand, looking away. I feel like a poser that way, just leaning on my board. Sure they can't do tricks, not that I've seen them, but I want to ride with confidence and I want to be their friend. I want to be better. I just don't want to be a novice.

2024.05.21 15:55 Nukemarine Today I finished lesson 8 of Pimsleur Mandarin Chinese, supplemented with Trimsleur, Anki, ACHTT, and previous Japanese study. So far, so good with Hanzi characters being the easiest part of all this.

Was tempted to make a video to show more than tell and still might, but things are still very, very early and always subject to change.
My previous Japanese language study is obviously giving me a big head start. Knew this would be the case when I went to Taiwan a couple of times and could recognize more than a few words which really helped me get around. Obviously pronunciation, vocabulary, and grammar would be radically different, but I was also aware of that. The unknown traditional Hanzi (focusing on that since it's easier given my Japanese study background) will not be the main problem, just the tones and pronunciation and thousands of words using those Hanzi.
Also, I have the benefit of going in with a set plan based on my own experience learning (and re-learning) Japanese using self-study tools: Anki, text analyzers, browser plug-ins, audio books, pop-up dictionaries, etc.
Current plan is as follows: Do the first 90 lessons of the older Pimsleur Mandarin course with serious supplementation:
So current plan just for the 90 Pimsleur lessons is:
  1. Review due Anki. For these, I have strict fail and soft fail rules for each card type. "Audio" cards (PinYin word/sentence) I have to know which hanzi are used and the meaning of the word - this is a strict fail. The soft fail (I hit "hard" UNLESS the spacing will be over 6 months) is the stroke order of the hanzi and meaning of the example sentence. The Clozed Delete card I also have know the Mandarin word, it's hanzi, and it's tone for the strict fail. The stroke order and meaning/reading of the clozed deleted Mandarin sentence is a soft fail.
  2. Do the Pimsleur lesson with the transcript (in part I at least). Pause to initially answer the English prompt then play and repeat the Chinese phrase. When the new word is introduced, go to it's Anki card to add pronunciation notes (the transcript has a few pages of charts for this) along with HanziHero as needed for Hanzi meanings and notes (super important for Hanzi that are new to me). Now, Pimsleur is normally a 30 minute lesson, but doing it this way makes it last about an hour or so.
  3. Activate the new vocabulary in Anki (custom study option) and see how much is remembered. I set cards to long learning time (1m 10m 1440m 3600m) with graduation done at 1 week. This is also great because Pimsleur cannot tell if I remembered anything or not and balance accordingly. Anki can.
  4. Watch one episode of Peppa Pig Mandarin at 75% speed with English sub, then rewatch with traditional Chinese subs. Peppa Pig is slowed down because the normal episodes are sped up on purpose in most languages. Any other show I would likely leave at original speed.
  5. Update my comprehensible immersion audio playlist. It'd be 4 copies of today's Trimsleur lesson, 3 copies of yesterday, 2 copies of two days ago, and 1 copy of three days ago (so Lesson 8 x4, Lesson 7 x3, Lesson 6 x2, Lesson 5 x1). In addition, it'd be the last four days of Peppa Pig ripped audio. This is about two hours of audio in total. I then play these on random, and the most recent lessons are played more often.
The comprehensible audio is played a lot of the time passively in the background. I can be doing anything else and not notice, but it'll be there whenever I do take a aural snack (pay attention to what's being played). I DO NOT want to repeat the major mistake in my early Japanese study of playing incomprehensible Japanese audio (rips of TV shows I watched) near 24/7. Found out that comprehensible that frequently refreshed is key to training your brain to follow along without thinking as well as repeat without effort.
Again, I'm only on lesson 8 with a handful of vocabulary words under my belt. Still, I can read aloud all eight of the introductory dialogues in traditional Mandarin. I'm also noticing the words as they pop up in Peppa Pig.
Gonna hate moving on to Pimsleur Mandarin part II as there's no transcript. However, there are websites that'll transcribe the Trimsleur audio (and maybe even the Pimsleur if I wanted) which'll simplify doing the lessons like I'm doing now.
After Pimsleur, I plan to do deep dive study methods (read subtitles along with Chinese subs, pausing only to look up meaning of unknown words and phrases), then after 10 hours of reading (at beginning stages this might be only 1 hour of actual Chinese audio) use subs with MorphMan in Anki to get 100 most common words that are within my learned vocab range. All that means is if I know 1,500 words then MorphMan will only look for new words from 3,000 most common that's also the most common in the read material stopping at 100 new words if that before starting reading up again.
Hopefully this all makes sense. Like with Japanese, I'll freely share whatever resources I can and answer whatever questions people have (if I have time). Obviously I'm in the beginning stages so maybe don't expect much.

2024.05.21 15:54 WordyBug My job site passed $1000 in revenue

Someone pinch me because I just hit a major milestone with my side project. Exactly 7 days ago, I wrote a post about reaching $500 revenue milestone.
Within one week, I was able to hit another milestone - $1000 revenue.
On December 29, I announced a fun challenge on Twitter - build and launch a product in 2 hours. I shared my idea as well - a job board for AI niche.
I was able to complete the challenge successfully. It immediately got picked up my multiple newsletters including Ben's Bites. And then Robert Scoble shared the project on his Twitter account (500k followers). I was able to amass a good traffic from this virality.
Link if you are curious: moaijobs.com
However it took me nearly 1.5 months to make the first dollar with this product. It took 5 months to go from $0 to $500. And only 6 days to go from $500 to $1000.
It is a great feel to see your hard work starting to pay off.
One of the important thing is even Pieter Levels (founder of NomadList) tried to launch a job board for AI but give up due to no demand. So, I always thought it will be extra hard for a newbie like me to monetize it.
I know this isn't much but it is a great start.
If you have any questions about running a job board/SEO, I would love to answer. Thank you.

2024.05.21 15:53 FlightlessRhino Trying to convert a complex number from exponential form to rectangular

Wolfram Alpha disagrees with me. My answer is short and it's answer is damned long. In short, I am trying to convert (a+bi)c+di into the form:
(stuff)+(more_stuff)i
so that I can plot the real and imaginary parts in 2 separate 3D plots.
So far I have:
k = (a+bi)c+di
ln(k) = ln[ (a+bi)c+di ]
ln(k) = (c+di) ln (a+bi)
ln(k) = (c+di) ln (re ) where r=sqrt(a2+b2) and θ=tan-1(b/a)
ln(k) = (c+di) [ ln(r)+ln(e ) ]
ln(k) = (c+di) [ ln(r)+iθ ln(e) ]
ln(k) = (c+di) [ ln(r)+iθ ]
k = e\c+di) [ ln(r)+iθ ])
k = ec ln\r) + di ln(r) + ciθ + diiθ))
k = ec ln\r - dθ) + (d ln(r) + cθ)i)
k = e\c ln(r - dθ))e (d ln(r + cθ)i))
So far wolfram alpha seems to agree with me. However, it doesn't like my next step:
k = ec ln(r - dθ) [ cos(d ln(r) + cθ) + i sin(d ln(r) + cθ) ]
I thought that eix=cos(x)+i sin(x). So all I did was plug in (d ln(r) + cθ) as x. But Wolfram is telling me to F myself. What am I missing?

2024.05.21 15:53 Horror_Mushroom5737 Tips on how to max out your weapons and level up your class:

Tips on how to max out your weapons and level up your class:
Hi lovelies!
Today, I want to talk about leveling up and unlocking your full potential (and arsenal). Usually this is a very time-consuming and tedious process, but following these tips might make it a little less annoying.
Big thank you to for introducing me to these methods!
\"Keep moving, I see the evac point!\"

How do you max out every weapon in just a few hours?
  • Start a private lobby and select Episode 1: New York - Chapter 3: Hell and High Water, on a difficulty you're most comfortable with (usually 2-3💀 are perfectly doable - this is a decent enough way to gain some class experience also),* and with the following mutators: *All Flash, No Bang & Double Benefit (you can also activate the Crossbow Fiesta if you wish to level up your crossbow, Shotgun Fiesta if you wish to level up shotguns, and Wild West if you wish to level up Repeating Rifle and Revolver). P**lay and replay **this mission as many times as necessary, making sure you pick up every primary and secondary weapon along the way. There are two horde events: one in the train yard, the other at the dock. All you have to do is trigger each and use up all the guns that you can find. Every weapon has a chance to spawn, so make sure to look for them (including Sniper Rifles, ACWs, Heavy Pistols...). You can either rely on your Fixer bot or pick the Ammo Fixer class yourself (as you will need ammo bags to keep your guns loaded, you won't find any ammo crates throughout the level because of the All Flash, No Bang mutator). Remember that headshots yield more experience points. You can also pick up Virus Samples \for extra experience points and supply credit/challenge credit. As you progress through the mission, you can breach doors and containers to find even more guns and defenses to kill every Zeke with. Hop on the boat once you're done leveling up your weapons to finish the mission. One playthrough should take about 15–20 minutes, considering you want to level up multiple guns during a single mission, and you'll also get a full reward for completing the mission.
\Note - you can check your progress with a currently equipped weapon by looking at the score board - it will be displayed in the bottom right corner of your screen.*

How do you level up any class and get extra challenge credits?
  • This one is going to be a little awkward, but rewarding. Same principle: start a private lobby and select Episode 1: New York - Chapter 3: Hell and High Water, on Extreme difficulty with the following mutators: Perfect Condition & I Feel Your Pain (you can also activate one of the 'Fiestas' or Wild West). All you have to do is successfully finish the mission with these mutators (NY3 is by far the best mission to do, as there is no timer and objectives are fail proof). It should take, on average, around 10–12 minutes, and you get the full Extreme Mission reward (850 supply credits, 15 challenge credits). In an hour, you will reach lvl30 with a class of your choice and have around 100 extra challenge credits.
  • What happens is that the VIP player (or 'crowned' player - a crown icon appears next to your health bar) gets hurt instead of their teammates. Other players can still get knocked down and pinned, but they can't get hurt by any means. So the VIP players are the only ones whose health bar will deteriorate as all the damage is redirected to them. If they die, it's game over. But thanks to the other mutator, Perfect Condition, there are only two instances when the VIP can die: when they're infected or when they're downed and not helped in time. This is where it can get awkward (and will, eventually) - the more damage your teammates take, the more likely you are to be downed, and every time you're downed, your total health is reduced by 25% until you end up with 10% max health (it won't go lower than that), meaning every hit from this point on that you or your teammates suffer will down you instantly. On the plus side, your teammates can each grab a Virus Sample (it won't break since they don't take damage) for that sweet x5 bonus. Just complete the mission, and don't worry about getting downed every so often, as long as you can make it onto the boat.
  • If you're playing with other players, their only concern will be staying close and getting you up as soon as you go down. If you're playing with bots, always stay close so they can help you - because the AI is horrendous and path-finding and priorities are literal rubbish, this may not always work as they tend to walk slowly, melee enemies, or reload first before getting to you. Sometimes they won't do anything. It may happen every now and then, but just ignore it and try the mission again.
\Note - because this is Extreme WITH mutators, it doesn't meet the conditions for unlocking the Wakizashi, nor does it count towards story progress - you will have to beat the mission without modifiers.*
Hope this helps you on your journey! ♥
xoxo

2024.05.21 15:53 venusshadowZDC-3 Astronaut Edgar Mitchell, the sixth man on the moon confirms non-human intelligence, crash retrievals, reverse engineering and disinformation operations in a rare interview with James Fox from the late ‘90s.

Interview: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LOHv1twCOqQ Partial transcript:
EM: There’s a lot that does go on with these high security classifications under military rules. I think it’s a fairly muddy area when we’re talking about this level of activity.
My interest is basically what’s the nature of the universe we live in, what is our relationship to the larger reality? If that’s part of the larger reality and we are denying it, that to me is unconscionable. I don’t live that way. I went into space to learn about the Universe we live in, to gain new insights, to go beyond the boundaries of our known existence…and if these phenomenon are really indicators of new information about the cosmos at all and intelligent life in the cosmos and their ability to travel, as circumstantial evidence would suggest, then we ought to get to the bottom of it.
There seems to have been over the last 50 years or more a great deal of secrecy surrounding the so called UFO event. It’s a very complex subject, we’re not dealing with some things very simple here. We have sightings of all sorts, we’ve been reported thousands of sightings for 50 years or so. Large number of these sightings are indeed misperceiving natural phenomena in some way, but a large number of them are not misperceiving, but seem to be well documented events that represent flying craft that do not match anything we have in our earthbound arsenal. Which is very short of saying we have validated in the public domain that they are ET craft. We have to rely upon that to get better answers, upon people who have been there and interacted, have first hand data. The only people I know of that claim to have been in that position are former intelligence, military and government people and some contractor people whose official duties in the early days were to investigate this and know about it. Those people were under, at that time, great restrictions and high security clearance that prevented them from telling the general public about it. It would appear that that period is long past but they’re still under security restrictions or at least believe they are.
There have been ET visitation, there have been crashed craft, there have been material and bodies recovered and there is some group of people somewhere that may or may not be associated with the government at this point but certainly were at one time that have this knowledge and have been attempting to conceal this knowledge or not permit it to be widely disseminated.
Q: Who do you think is in control of this knowledge at this point?
EM: I cannot answer that [smiling]. I cannot answer “who are these people?”, but there is a lot of evidence that points to what I call a clandestine group, people who have some quasi-affiliation with the government and use certain government facilities but operate in a rather very stealth and secret way that is not generally under a high level of government control, as far as we can tell.
Yes, there has been ET visitation and may continue to be. There has been craft that have been recovered. There has been a certain amount of reverse engineering that has allowed some of these craft or some components to be duplicated. And that there are humanoids from our planet, earthlings [people] who are utilizing some of this equipment in certain ways and that perhaps a large part of the activity that’s classified as UFO activity, abductions and a whole host of this type of activity may very well not be due to ET activity at all. I would suspect if any is due to ET activity, it’s a rather small part and a larger portion is due to humanoid type activity, earthling type activity in a very clandestine fashion. I will stop short of attaching motivation to this, I don’t know the motivation. But if it’s normal human motivation, it has to do with power and control and greed and money and so forth.
Those type of craft, humongous, very very large craft, reportedly the size of many football fields, that would be very hard to manufacture, conceal and operate from an earth base. It would seem if that account is true at all, it probably would have to be something beyond this realm. I think its long past time to open this up to the public because they don’t know what to do anyhow.
I do not see anything that suggests really malevolent intent on the part of, if there are ETs at all and I have to place the caveat, I don’t see anything that represents hostile intent. We see things like abductions for example that many would claim are hostile and to the extent that may be true, I would more likely attribute it to some other cause.
There is a mountain of evidence that essentially amounts to smoking good evidence that has not been and seemingly cannot be brought forward at this point, at least not by the powers of the government or not by anything I know about, but it seems to exist.
There is this information, the question of “has it been kept secret” or “how could it be kept secret”. It hasn’t been kept secret, it’s been there all along, but it has been the subject of disinformation in order to deflect attention and to create confusion, so that the truth doesn’t come out. Disinformation is simply another method of stonewalling and it has been used consistently for the last 50 years or so. Weather balloons over Roswell I suppose, to a crashed craft of some sort…that’s disinformation. We’ve seen that for 50 years and it’s the best way to hide something.
It shouldn’t be any more of a fact that ETs have come here than that we have gone to the moon, ok? It’s just a part of the way things are and we have to understand it and put it in context of the story of ourselves, our knowledge base of cosmology, the nature of our existence, who are we, how does the world work. And of course, that knowledge does change our understanding of how the world or the Universe at large works, because until the current period it was conventional wisdom both in science and theology that we’re alone in the Universe; the whole, single repository of life anywhere in the known Universe. Well, no one believes that anymore. That changes our concept of who we are and how we fit. And it’s becoming very clear that the way we have conducted ourselves as stewards of life on planet Earth is wanting, we haven’t been good stewards. We have environmental and global problems right now that are bringing civilization to a crisis and people do not want to hear that but it’s slowly becoming obvious that that is true. So this knowledge of who we are, how we manage the Planet, how we fit into the larger scheme of things is a very important question.
Dr. Greer did indeed mount an initiative [CSETI Project Starlight] and did go to Washington, did speak with high level government people, did present some of the witnesses we’ve talked about there to give briefings and has asked for congressional hearings on these matters. I attended and helped him with that and I believe that’s a very important effort, that we get congressional oversight of all of this, but so far that hasn’t happened. We briefed certain members of Congress, some of their staff, some of the people from the White House, we talked with people in the Pentagon and in general it was well received and some were quite amazed at what they heard but so far it hasn’t resulted in any great activity.
Q: Was this news to a lot of their ears?
EM: To some people, yes. Others not really so much, but I will say it lead me to the belief that people in high level government have very little if any information, valid information, about this. Most have no more knowledge than a man on the street. Representatives from the intelligence section, they were out of the loop of the things we were talking about.
Q: Did that come to a concern to you?
EM: Oh yes, it’s a very great concern. I have expressed this concern over and over, that’s exactly what I’m saying. It’s that whatever activity is going on to the extent that it is a clandestine group, a quasi-government group, a quasi-private group, it is without any type, as far as I can tell, of high level government oversight, and that is a great concern.

Should this Glacier Bay be free?
Hello. New here and looking forward to thoughts and opinions. We have an incredibly large stove that came with the house. After seven years of trying to make it work- we have to let it go. It's SO large for the space and we can't keep anything in the room with it. My furniture was literally oozing sap when using it b/c it would get so hot. It's also in a parlor (closed-off room) so it doesn't even heat the house efficiently. My question is... is it worth anything? Should I sell? Or offer it free to haul? Or should I been willing to pay someone to remove for me? We are located in CNY so wood stoves are wanted/needed around my area. Also, what should I expect when having someone move it? I'm so concerned about damage to my house (floors, doorways, porch, etc). The parlor has a exterior door to my porch which is three steps up from ground level- will this pose an issue for an 'average Joe' to safely move it? Thanks so much for any and all advice. Can't wait to get this guy outta here so we can update to a new and efficient stove that is appropriate for the space.

So Blizzard has the resources to sit and watch people power farm mobs on stream and will nerf the experience gains in real time, but is incapable of answering customer support tickets or banning bots…
The level of incompetence in this organization is wild🤣

2024.05.21 15:39 tamtrible Creationists: what do you think an "evolved" world would actually look like?

Please only answer (top-level, at least, you can respond to the things creationists post) if you are or at least were an actual creationist (who rejected evolution as the primary explanation for the diversity of life). And if it's a "were" rather than an "are", please try to answer as if you were still the creationist you used to be.
Assume whatever you wish about how the universe was formed, and how the Earth was formed, but then assume that, instead of whatever you believe actually happened (feel free to *briefly* detail that), a small population of single cell organisms came into existence (again, assume whatever you wish about where those cells came from, abiogenesis is not evolution), and then evolution proceeded without any kind of divine guidance for 4 billion or so years. What do you think the world would actually look like today?
Or, to put it another way... what features of the world around us make you think that evolution could not be the sole explanation for the diversity of life on Earth?
Please note, I will probably downvote and mock you if you can't make any argument better than "Because the Bible says so". At least try to come up with *something* about the world as it is that you think could not have happened through unguided evolution.
(and lest you think I'm "picking on you" or whatever, I have done the reverse--asking non-creationists to imagine the results of a "created" world--multiple times.)

2024.05.21 15:39 Aliex013 BlackVue DR970X hardwire battery questions

Hi all,
I'm looking at installing a BlackVue DR970X into my car and hardwiring the camera to my fuse box.
I am a little concerned with my car battery being drained due to parking mode, but I definitely want to have parking mode enabled... so looking to get more information at this point.
I know there is a voltage check cut-off which will turn the camera off if the camera doesn't detect a level of power, but I don't think this is what I want as the camera will then basically turn off within a couple of minutes of me turning off my car and not record events after this.
My questions:
  1. Will the camera constantly draw power while my car is turned off/parked? From what I've read, parking mode just stops the camera from writing to the SD card memory unless there is an event but it is constantly drawing power in order to be ready for these events.
  2. If the above is true: If I decide to not drive my car for two days - will the camera have drained my car battery since it was in parking mode constantly for those two days?
  3. Is there possibly less power draw while in parking mode?
If anyone can answer the questions above or If anyone has their own personal experience to share, that would be appreciated!
Thanks in advance!
