The purpose of this sub is to provide facial ratings of both men and women based on *objective factors* such as harmony, sexual dimorphism, symmetry, and qualities of their features. All because I realised if I did get a game made it wouldn't go anywhere, and it Also rode on my feelings of UTY which have sub-sided now
Why did I say to move sub reddits As I'm planning to make my own game, I shot myself in the back with that one.

2024.05.21 18:32 _truth_matters_ Aggression

Very heavy hearts at our home today. Yesterday our 14 month old intact male killed one of our chickens. We keep them separate but the chickens sometimes get over the fence. He didn't just kill it, he obviously tried to tear it to pieces like one of his stuffed animals. Then today, he snapped at my cat. If he killed our cat he would be gone from our home. I just don't know what to do! 😭😭😭 We will neuter him now, sooner than planned, and hope that helps. Any other ideas to stop aggression or prey drive?

2024.05.21 18:32 BlazingBamboo Looking for feedback on my shop!

Hey everyone I have been selling on Etsy since 2022 but it was low effort digital downloads and made about 30 sales from that, just some context so it doesn’t look like I have more sales than I actually do 😆
——————-
I am a graphic design student at university and in my free time I love to make posters and have been uploading them to Etsy, I have my own printer and create, produce and distribute all the designs independently!
I have really been trying hard with it all since late February and I’m very happy with the results so far I have made 20 sales and £165 with a 1.8% conversion rate. These are all things I want to try really hard to improve on, this has been one of the most enjoyable hobbies for me and I love the feeling of people wanting to pay and hang up art that I have created!
I have done lots of experiment with different forms of advertising and ultimately been breaking even, which for now is something I am totally okay with as it’s not losing money and giving me valuable information.
Things I need help with -
• my seo, I am doing the best that I can but it’s something I am really struggling with, I feel like there are only so many different tags and keywords I can use for posters. My silly goose poster is by far my best seller
• I believe that I stand out from my competition as I am offering physical products that I have printed myself as opposed to purely digital stores
Sorry this is a lot of words, if anyone can help out my shop is called TCOgraphics

2024.05.21 18:31 Puginator Nestle to launch Vital Pursuit frozen-food brand targeting GLP-1 users

Nestle is launching a new frozen-food brand, Vital Pursuit, aimed at the growing market of consumers who are using GLP-1 drugs like Ozempic and Wegovy.
Over the last year, the buzzy weight loss and diabetes drugs have taken off as more options hit the market and as celebrities like Oprah Winfrey and Elon Musk endorse them.
Roughly one in eight adults in the U.S. reported using a GLP-1 drug at some point, according to a recent survey from health policy research organization KFF. Roughly half of those Americans, or around 6% of U.S. adults, are currently using one of the treatments.
The total number of U.S. consumers taking the medication could soar to 31.5 million, or 9% of the total population, by 2035, according to research from Morgan Stanley.
As the drugs’ popularity has soared, investors have grown concerned about what their rise means for food and beverage companies and fast-food chains. People who take the medication typically eat less frequently because they have fewer cravings and desire more protein and less sugary and fatty foods. In October, Walmart U.S. CEO John Furner told Bloomberg that people who pick up GLP-1 drugs from its pharmacies are buying less food, typically with fewer calories.
But Nestle sees an opportunity to cater to those consumers through Vital Pursuit.
“The reality is, for the last 25 years, the diet has been dying, in a sense. ... For me, what we’ve done is actually given consumers a new tool that actually gives them confidence and success on this journey,” Nestle’s North America CEO Steve Presley told CNBC.
The new brand’s initial lineup of 12 items will include frozen bowls with whole grains or protein-packed pasta, along with sandwich melts and pizzas. The products will include one or more essential nutrients, like protein, calcium or iron. The company plans to sell Vital Pursuit items for $4.99 or under and offer gluten-free options.
Vital Pursuit’s packaging won’t include mentions of GLP-1 medications, but Nestle said the company will more directly connect the brand to the drugs on social media.
The new line will hit the freezer aisle by the fourth quarter.
In recent years, Nestle has also tried to focus more on health-conscious consumers. In 2018, it sold its U.S. candy business, which includes brands like Butterfinger, Crunch and Laffy Taffy, to Ferrero for $2.8 billion. Nestle’s food business, which includes brands like Stouffer’s and Toll House, only accounts for 14.5% of its U.S. sales.
Nestle already owns Lean Cuisine, which was founded in 1981 as a healthier alternative to other frozen meals. The company chose to create a new brand to reach GLP-1 users because Lean’s branding focuses on consumers looking to limit their calories. However, people who take GLP-1 medications may want to consume more nutrients, such as protein, which can help with the muscle loss associated with the drugs.
“The consumer research shows that there are certain nutrients and certain macros that need to be delivered to actually help the consumers stay healthy along the journey of the GLP-1 treatment,” Presley said.
Shares of Swiss-based Nestle have fallen 16% this year, dragging its market value down to $278 billion. The food company expects that its global growth will slow this year as inflation-weary consumers buy less of its products.

2024.05.21 18:31 John-The-Bomb-2 A message from GOD about abortion [4 images and also see description]

A message from GOD about abortion [4 images and also see description]
A message from GOD...
I woke up to a dream. In the dream, I had a baby, but it was half human, half insect. It had the face of a human baby but the body of some sort of insect, maybe a spider. Eww.
It was covered in disgusting goo (I think somehow I birthed it out of my penis and placental goo somehow came out, the dream doesn't really make sense). Anyway, I tried to put it in my bathroom's tub or sink or something to wash it, and this little insect bodied baby got sucked down the drain.
I was in a state of despair, but then I thought "maybe a defective human being like myself with a defective baby shouldn't have babies in the first place. Maybe this is for the best". While I was despairing (in a state of despair), I noticed one tiny human hand on the edge of the drain. I reached for it (somehow my baby with the head of a human baby but the body of an insect like a spider had tiny human baby hands on the end of its spider legs), and I pulled it out. It was my baby and it was alive! I rejoiced! I will be a father!
Oddly enough this insect baby of mine was so small that it could get sucked down the drain in my bathroom, but somehow it also had a discernable human baby face.
Anyway, that reminds me of Bodies: The Exhibition ( https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bodies:_The_Exhibition ), where I saw photos of aborted fetuses (see images #2 and #3). A 14 week old fetus is like 3 inches long and a 5 week old fetus (embryo) is like 0.5 inches long, see my photos from 2019. Anyway, in my dream my messed up, disgusting baby that I rescued was so small that it could go down my bathroom drain.
I kinda consider myself GOD and my dreams as a message from my inner subconscious, GOD. Thus, I have just received a message from GOD! #Prophet #ProphetJohnReed
I used to say that the age of legal abortion should be the point where a fetus is developed enough to feel pain like I can, so about 22 weeks (which is where it was in the U.S. after Roe v. Wade was made law but before Roe v. Wade was overturned by Trump judges), but now I'm rethinking it. Based on this dream, I'm thinking this: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heartbeat_bill
p.s. If you're going to limit women from having abortions, at least give them the Plan B morning-after pill and pregnancy tests.
Note: "...the morning-after pill, are medications intended to disrupt or delay ovulation or fertilization, which are necessary for pregnancy." - https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emergency_contraception
Note that Plan B is NOT an abortion pill. It delays ovulation (the female egg coming out of her ovary) and fertilization (the male sperm fusing with the female egg), it does not cause an embryo to fall out of her.
But yeah, as the father and the son, John Reed, with the virgin mother of Virgin Capital Investments, who channels The Holy Spirit, bipolar disorder, I proclaim that I have received a message from God and that message is that you can reduce the age of legal abortion from 22 weeks down to six weeks but only if you provide women with Plan B emergency contraception and pregnancy tests. If she doesn't have Plan B emergency contraception and pregnancy tests, you're not allowed to stop her from having an abortion before 22 weeks.
I am "The Prophet" and this is my message from GOD which is to apply to all people in my kingdom, planet Earth. I am "The King of planet Earth" and this is my proclamation!
@ FBI , @CIA , @DOJ , @DoD , As the shadow leader of the "Deep State", as "The Shadow President", this post is my proclamation!

2024.05.21 18:31 stmAcide Question about vacation’s visa

Hi guys, so my friend is going to be an exchange student at Ewha’s university next year but before the semester starts (end of august) we planned a one month trip there. We’re all french except for this particular friend so she needs a visa to travel. Thing is, to do the exchange visa you need to wait until your school gives you some sort of paper (in mid july) which means the visa will most likely come out at the end of august. We’re all really in the unknown rn wondering what are the options left for her because our trip aside she still need to go and find accommodations etc before the beginning of the school year. Do any of you know if she can fill in for a holiday visa and then switch for an exchange one after ? She’s trying to call her country’s and the korean embassies for informations but they’re not giving definite answers…
All help and informations will be much appreciated !!
(also posted on living_in_korea_now for the exchange part but we still need help 😔)

2024.05.21 18:31 meneerduif Meneerduif visits RAF Shrewsbury

Deputy leader and member for Shropshire and Staffordshire of the Conservative Party meneerduif visited RAF Shawbury today. The Conservative member spend several hours touring the grounds. Talking to cadets and trainers about the programs being run out of Shawbury base. Inspecting the facilities and equipment. He was also taken by a cadet and instructor on a short training flight in one of the Juno training helicopters.
Afterwards meneerduif held a brief press moment outside the base to discuss Conservative plans and answer questions.
Meneerduif; “I’d like to take this moment to thank commander Jones for having me as his guest. It was a pleasure to talk to the hard working cadets and instructors. They all do their part in keeping our country safe and secure. The Conservative Party will also continue to remain steadfast when it comes to holding the government to account on the subject of defence. Governments of the past have promised a defence review and we will continue to push forward on this issue that one must be conducted as quickly as possible.
The Conservative Party also recently brought to the attention of the government the concerns over Russia using chemical weapons in Ukraine and the possibility of sending safety equipment. The Conservative Party will continue to stand with Ukraine and support shipments of equipment. I will now take some questions from the press”
Press; “we have not heard much from the Conservative Party since the last election, could you comment on the Conservative party’s plans for this term?”
Meneerduif; “we have not been as visible as I would’ve liked, but we have and will continue to hold the government accountable. While also working with parties across the house to pass good common sense policy.
The Conservative Party will continue to fight for all citizens of this country to improve their lives and stop the radical left wing agenda.”
Press; “could you talk some more about what the party is actively doing in parliament when it comes to legislation?”
Meneerduif; “I am currently working on legislation to undo a bill that had disasterous consequences for part of our country. I hope to present it to parliament as soon as possible.
I also know that the rest of the Conservative Party is hard at work at making legislation that will improve the lives of our citizens.”
Press; “recently you got into a debate with several members in the house surrounding Israel, could you comment on that debate?”
Meneerduif; “I continue to stand by what I said during that debate. Certain members of the house throw around words like genocide without proper care. If we use such an important word with a specific meaning time and time again when the meaning of the word does not apply to the situation, the word will lose its meaning.”
Press; “what is your opinion on the current state of the Russo-Ukraine conflict?”
Meneerduif; “the current Russian offensive towards Kharkiv shows why it is so important that the UK continues to support Ukraine. I believe that we must work with members from across the house in securing the right tools for Ukraine to win this conflict.”
Press; “can you comment on the current tension in New Caledonia?”
Meneerduif; “I hope the French government can quickly restore order and peace in the region. I do want to urge our government to work with the French, Australian en New Zealand’s government to ensure the safety of any British nationals who might be currently trapped on the island. And I hope the secretary can inform the house soon on any such measures.
I’m afraid that will be all for today, I hope to see everybody soon again, thank you.”

2024.05.21 18:31 MikeLancaster27 AIO when girl takes home another guy

So for context, the girl I have been talking to for a couple weeks took home another guy from the bar.
I 33(m) have been talking to 30(f) for a couple weeks. Hanging out, going out for dinner and even been intimate on an occasion or two. We are not anything official and I know that as a grown woman she can do as she pleases and I’m typically not a jealous or possessive person. It does not bother me if she talks to other guys or even hearing about guys she has dated in the past. Also want to point out that we both understand that what we are doing is casual and haven’t yet considered if this will continue into something more
Now onto the part where I need some clarity. Last weekend a group of mutual friends were all meeting downtown and going to the bar. We both knew each other would be there and planning on going home with each other. Throughout the night we were both mingling around and talking to people at the bar (friends and such). I noticed she had been talking to one guy for a while and figured she must have known him and were friends catching up. Fast forward to the end of the night and those two are seen leaving the bar together.
Again, we aren’t officially a couple or anything so I want to know if I’m over reacting or is me being upset by this justified.

2024.05.21 18:31 Roadrunner1659 Right time to buy a MY?

I am aware of the .99% financing. Honestly, that’s why I’m here. I wouldn’t be considering the MY at the current 6-7% interest rates. I know I’ll save electric vs gas. I’ve even found an insurance company with a great rate. On paper the Tesla checks every box.
My one concern comes at the end of the finance period when or when I eclipse the mileage on the battery warranty…I’ll easily do 15-20k per year.
What are your plans for the MY 6 years from now?
Am I over thinking this?
Thanks!

2024.05.21 18:30 MauritsJoy Upgrading to the OnePlus 12

I bought a OnePlus 10T at launch and am looking to upgrade. I have pretty much ran out on my 256 GB of storage and have to look for apps/media to delete regularly. Furthermore, the main camera is pretty good but the other two are there just for show. The battery also seems to swing from pretty good to terrible. Today I lost 71% of battery in 11 hours (2 hours, 49 minutes of screen-on-time). This is with using WhatsApp and YouTube for the vast majority of the time. Other days I have 5+ hours of screen on time and come home with just losing 40% of battery. My phone has also started showing signs of slowness unlocking and opening apps in the past year (might be because of the lack of storage).
I have a planned vacation to Japan in about a month and would like to take pictures that look great, rather than good since it is across the world for me.
Is the OnePlus 12 worth upgrading to? Is the main camera a lot better than the one in the OnePlus 10T? I would buy the 512 GB version if I do buy one.
(TL;DR: I am wondering if the OnePlus 12 is worth upgrading to coming from a OnePlus 10T. Camera and battery life are important factors.)

2024.05.21 18:30 yelpvinegar The 7 Types of Startup Founders: Why It Matters To You

What’s the #1 thing every founder needs to know?

I’ll give you a few minutes to make a list — top of mind might include sales, marketing, technology, product management (especially product-market fit), technical skills, fundraising, team building, leadership, management, finance, and planning/executing strategic growth and scaling.
Sure… but, sorry, none of that is the correct answer. Because, of course, you know that founders typically are expected to be jacks of all trades. So yes, to all of the above, but that’s not the secret sauce.
The #1 thing every founder needs to know is… themself.
Here’s the truth: founders start companies, and entrepreneurs build them. While not every entrepreneur is a founder (think franchise owners), every founder is an entrepreneur (at least initially).
If you’re like me, you are a forward-obsessed founder. That means where you are now is always building toward where you want to go. That person is always an entrepreneur. Once the company is started, you’ll do what it takes — including relinquishing control — to keep it growing.
Does that sting? We founders think of our companies as our babies, but statistics say we’re likely to be the ones kicked out of the nest. Also, research shows that in the US, only 14 out of the top selling 500 companies still have the original founder running the company. And the Harvard Business Review reports that most founders relinquish control long before their companies go public — and that four out of five are forced to step down as CEO.
It doesn’t have to be that way if you have one critical attribute: self-awareness. That way, you can decide as your company grows how you want to evolve your role in the overall day-to-day running of the company (i.e., learn, delegate, hire, move on). And ultimately, you can make better choices at critical growth junctures in your business progression.
So, to help you become more self-aware, it’s helpful to understand the different types of founders. Let’s dive in.

The Types of Founders

A couple of notes before we get into specifics:
The bottom line: knowing your strongest/weakest points is a critical piece of the self-awareness pie. That way, you can conduct your business in what I call the Green Zone — aka the Genius Zone, where you have both high passion and high competence — and make the best choices for you and your company.

1. The Solo Founder

Traits:
Benefits:
Pitfalls:
Example: Sara Blakely, Spanx Founder
Ten years ago, in 2012, when she was just 38, Sara Blakely became the world’s youngest self-made female billionaire. Her business, built on a significant industry gap (the lack of comfortable, effective shapewear) and her incredible sales hustle, also benefited greatly from Blakely’s abundant self-awareness. Here’s her advice to solo founders at a 2020 business conference:
“I tell people as soon as you can afford to hire your weaknesses, do it… As soon as I could afford to hire someone to do more of the operations side of the business, I did. As an entrepreneur, one of the biggest gifts you can give yourself is to stay in your lane.”
In other words, know what your Green Zone is and play there.
If you’re like Blakely, it’s usually big ideas and sales ability (she could easily qualify as a Visionary Founder, too) or operations and execution (what Blakely realized she needed help with).
Pro tip: If you’re a solo founder, you’ll likely want to lean into an entrepreneurial framework like the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) to help you define and settle into which side you skew toward.

2. The Visionary Founder (or Co-founders)

Traits:
Benefits:
Pitfalls:
Example: Steve Jobs & Steve Wozniak
Considering that Steve Jobs’ name is pretty much synonymous with “visionary,” I don’t think I need to list more than the products and industries Jobs’ revolutionized at Apple and beyond — Apple Computers, iPod (iTunes), iPad, iPhone, Pixar, iCloud — with many products and points in between. George Lucas, from whom Jobs bought the Graphics Group at Lucasfilm and renamed it “Pixar,” perfectly summarizes his superpower:
“The magic of Steve was that while others simply accepted the status quo, he saw the true potential in everything he touched and never compromised on that vision.”
Steve Wozniak was the technological yin to Jobs’ sales and marketing yang, bringing the vision of a computer with a graphic interface to life. From the visionary files, “Woz” also invented the first programmable universal remote and was an early innovator of wireless GPS (thanks to his clever dogs who routinely evaded electronic fences).

3. The Serial Disruptor

Traits:
Benefits:
Pitfalls:
Example: Elon Musk
Like him or loathe him, Elon Musk is perhaps the most prolific (and successful) serial founder of all time with startups including Tesla, SpaceX, The Boring Company, and Neuralink, among others. His drive to design opportunities to evolve humanity has redefined both hustle culture and the art of serial entrepreneurship.
For serial founders, having a set of principles is key to their success. In Musk’s case, his use of “first principles” — reducing a process to its essential parts — has served him well, from helping him figure out how to make rockets cheaper and reusable (SpaceX) to shifting the narrative of electric vehicles (Tesla).

4. The Engineer

Traits:
Benefits:
Pitfalls:
Example: Mark Zuckerberg
Much like the other examples I’m sharing, Mark Zuckerberg’s story has been widely told, so you probably know about his development of Facebook. But at his core, Zuckerberg is an engineering prodigy and geek. At just 13 in 1997, he built “ZuckNet,” which enabled the family’s home computers to communicate via Ping (a precursor of AOL’s Instant Messenger) with his father’s dental office computers. He was using AI in his senior year in high school, so the roots of his Meta(verse) focus today are apparent.
A common weakness for engineers is they tend to have a lower EQ, which has been well-researched. As a former engineer, I understand how logic and technology come easier than understanding human behavior. This is why tech founders should seek out mentors early and bring in competent leaders with high EQ and leadership skills — for example, Zuckerberg credits his former COO of 14 years, Sheryl Sandberg, for turning the company into a multi-billion dollar company.

5. The Personality Founder

Traits:
Benefits:
Pitfalls:
Example: Oprah
I’m using Oprah as an example, as her products are an outgrowth of her — her eponymous talk show, which ran for 25 years, the OWN network, O Magazine, her book club, and a variety of charitable endeavors comprise her vast empire. But of course, we know plenty of other personality brands that have racked up billions in sales and even transformed, from the Kardashians/Jenners, to Bethany Frankel and Ryan Reynolds (just watch Deadpool 3 to see his brands — coming in 2023).
In today’s age of influence, we’ve seen a surge of personality brands and founders who leverage built-in audiences and communities to scale quickly. All these names are business mavericks in their own right, but many didn’t start out this way — they deftly utilize their charisma and ability to entertain to shape their brands and pave the way to success.

6. The Accidental Founder

Traits:
Benefits:
Pitfalls:
Example: Yvon Chouinard
Patagonia founder Yvon Chouinard has been in the news lately for giving away his company to fight climate change. He’s an OG accidental entrepreneur whose passion for rock climbing led him to develop reusable pitons (rock climbing spikes) and, later, heavy-duty shirts. Famously Chouinard called himself a “dirtbag climber” and didn’t want to become a business mogul. Sixty-five years later, this accidental founder’s company is valued at $3 billion, and his latest innovation is a way of giving away the profits of a company to continue his contribution to society — protecting and preserving the natural world.
As I always say, there are riches in the niches, and accidental entrepreneurs are the leading type of founders to discover a marketplace with little or no competition.

7. The Intentional Founder

Traits:
Benefits:
Pitfalls:
Example: Jessica Alba
While Jessica Alba does have some touches of a Personality Founder (she is an actor) and an Accidental Founder (an allergic reaction to detergent made her worry about her new baby’s sensitive skin), she is an excellent example of an intentional founder. Back in 2008, when Alba had that allergic reaction, influencer marketing wasn’t what it is today — plus, she had some success but was by no means a household name. Ditto for eco-conscious consumer packaged goods — a plus, sure, but didn’t have the same urgency and importance it does today. Alba then spent years researching ingredients in everyday products and even went to DC to lobby for updates to the 1976 Toxic Substances Control Act. Convinced that consumers need safe, affordable, environmentally friendly products for kids and home, Alba launched The Honest Company in 2011.
Now, she did have seasoned co-founders, her own wealth to use out the gates, and VC support shortly after that, but it has always been Alba’s commitment to and alignment with the brand’s core principles that have kept the brand growing and thriving — today, as a publicly traded company with a 2021 $412.8 IPO.
What type of founder are you? Definitely feel free to share in the comments.

2024.05.21 18:30 Silvery_Cricket Supernova Round Up: Where are they now and where are they going next?

I just like talking about the Supernovas so I just want to talk about what is going on with them in the story, and whether I think their individual roles in the story is complete or if they might contribute more. If you disagree with any of these or just want to contribute your own opinions I would love to read them.
So first off Monkey D. Luffy - I think he is going places but who can say.
Roronoa Zoro - Something tells me we haven't seen the last of him.
Capone Bege - So last we saw of Bege he was in Dressrosa where he saved it from the Germ Pirates, and participated in the marriage of Gotti and Lola. While I think it's possible for Gang Bege to come back into the story, possibly in regards to what they encountered in the time skip. I do think Gang Bege is probably done with his role in the story proper. A cameo I think is likely but I feel he won't really participate in any major events.
Jewelry Bonney - Obviously she is a major player in the current Egg Head arc but after that I think she might get her send off, as her character's goal was to save Kuma or die trying. Possibly we might get some follow up from her in regards to saving her crew post Egg Head maybe, but I feel like she might go her own way post Egg Head. I don't want to hard commit to anything regarding her as she is still very up in the air.
Basil Hawkins - Yeah I think the Magician is out of tricks. His pride being his undoing after refusing to try ally with Kidd again after his initial portrayal spelled his doom. His fate was unknown after the defeat of Kaido and though he had a 1% chance of surviving the day, I doubt he is dead. I suspect that we will see Hawkins one last time just to confirm he is alive, but I do think his pirating days are done.
Scratchmen Apoo - I 100% think Apoo still has a role to play in the story yet, he is like weirdly strong. Like all through out Wano he kept taking hit after hit and just got back up no problem. Not to mention he never really was defeated, he just kind of was hanging around after Kaido was defeated in the cooldown of the Wano arc. So I feel like his path is gonna cross again with the Straw Hats.
Eustass Kid - I am gonna rip the band aid off with Kid, I think he will absolutely appear in the main story again but I think his pirating days are done. That is two embarrassing losses to Shank, and I feel like when we see him again he is gonna go at Shanks for a third time and I doubt he will survive that attempt.
X Drake - Drake is currently missing after the events of Wano, and the story makes a point to mention that in Egg Head. Which means that he is this loose hanging plot thread, and I imagine he will return as a player in a future arc.
Urouge - I think the Mad Monk is done, I feel like we would of at least had a mention of him somewhere in the story so far if there was a plan for him. It has been 319 chapters since his name was even mentioned, Urouge im sad to say is out of the story I believe.
Killer - See above my points about Kid, I think Killer is alive but like Kid will probably share whatever fate befalls his captain. I do believe however he and Kid are probably the last members of the crew alive currently.
Trafalgar D. Water - After Law's defeat by Blackbeard he was taken away by Bepo from the battlefield to fight another day. I believe we wont see Law for a while but I do believe he will return as a major player closer to endgame. I do think this however is just due to his incredible popularity with readers.

2024.05.21 18:30 Longjumping-Cat-9207 Exposing the Red Cross long history of antisemitism - Rootsmetals

FIRST, WHAT IS THE RED CROSS?
The Red Cross was founded in 1863 by Henry Dunant, a Swiss businessman horrified by what he witnessed in the Italian battlefield during the Battle of Volturno. By 1933, the Red Cross was the central humanitarian player in drafting the modern laws of war. In fact, the Red Cross organized the conference that drafted the original Geneva Convention.

ANTISEMITIC BIAS
The Red Cross has a long history of antisemitic bias; most notably, it served as a propaganda mouthpiece for Nazi Germany and even helped top level Nazis escape prosecution.
After the Holocaust, Jewish survivors not only accused the Red Cross of doing little to help them find surviving family members, but also accused them of being apathetic and having “no feeling.”
But the bias didn’t end there. The Red Cross refused to recognize the Magen David Adom (Red Star of David) until 2006, even though it had long admitted the Muslim Red Crescent. This rejection was hardly just a symbolic issue, as it denied the Magen David Adom protection under international law.
Much like the Red Cross served as a Nazi propaganda mouthpiece during World War II, the Red Cross has periodically parroted Hamas propaganda over the years, only to later take back their claims, after the damage has already been done.

WHY ARE JEWS ANGRY WITH THE RED CROSS?
Since the October 7 massacre, Israel and Jews around the world have asked for the Red Cross to be permitted to visit the hostages held in Gaza, many of whom have chronic health conditions and/or disabilities and one of whom was around nine months pregnant. Unsurprisingly, Hamas has denied the Red Cross access, much like it has denied them access to other hostages and prisoners of war in the past, in complete violation of international law.
Though we hardly expect Hamas to act rationally, the Red Cross, which is in contact with Hamas, has made little tangible effort to access the hostages or information about their condition, or to even contact most of their families. Instead, it has dedicated most of its attention to condemning the Israeli bombings of the Gaza Strip. It has also chastised Israel about a new wartime law that passed in the Israeli Knesset regarding the conditions of security prisoners if a “prison emergency” is declared.

A LONG HISTORY OF ANTISEMITISM
By the start of World War II, the Red Cross, which was based in neutral Switzerland, had a policy of non-interference and “neutrality” regarding the Nazis’ racial policies.
The Red Cross chose only to concern itself with the treatment of prisoners of war from countries that had signed the 1929 Geneva Convention. However, they opted not to interfere regarding the treatment of civilians.
Following Hitler’s rise to power in 1933, the Red Cross chose to “conform” to the new regime, rather than oppose it. In fact, an SS general, Ernst-Robert Grawitz, became the head of the German Red Cross in 1933. Grawitz was closely involved in the plans to murder disabled people and in Nazi medical experimentation. The German Red Cross thus essentially became a Nazi medical unit, rather than a humanitarian organization. When pressed about it, the German Red Cross claimed that, by allying themselves with the Nazi regime, they’d have access to concentration camps, which would ensure that the inmates would be “treated better.”

THE RED CROSS KNEW ABOUT THE HOLOCAUST AS THE HOLOCAUST WAS CARRIED OUT
In the 1990s, the Red Cross finally officially admitted that they’d long had previous knowledge of the Nazis’ plans for the total extermination of Jews and Roma.
As early as 1933, the Red Cross received desperate pleas from prisoners in Dachau concentration camp, begging for intervention. By 1942, the Red Cross had full knowledge of the Germans’ atrocities. In early 1945, the president of the Red Cross wrote, “Concerning the Jewish problem in Germany, we are in close and continual contact with the German authorities.” The use of the phrase “Jewish problem,” of course, is indicative of the attitude of the Red Cross, considering the very same phrase was used in the Nazis’ “final solution to the Jewish problem” (in other words, the Nazi plan for the total genocide of the Jewish People).
A representative of the Red Cross who’d visited several of the camps falsely claimed that other than segregation, “no other discrimination was made against [Jewish POWs].”

THE RED CROSS PEDDLED NAZI PROPAGANDA
By 1943, word of German atrocities toward the Jewish People had spread throughout the world. Following the deportation of ~500 Danish Jews to Theresienstadt, the Danish authorities pressured the International Red Cross to visit the camp/ghetto to check on its conditions.
The Nazis saw this visit as an opportunity to spread their propaganda. Nearly 8000 Jews were immediately sent to Auschwitz to counteract reports of overcrowding in Theresienstadt. In Auschwitz, these Jews were placed in a “special unit” in the event that the Red Cross chose to visit them.
The camp/ghetto was “cleaned up.” For example, buildings were painted and a football field was staged. “Cultural activities” were promoted to create the illusion that the Jewish prisoners were thriving. The Red Cross officials were taken on a tour of a pre-planned route and interviewed prisoners who’d been trained on what to say. Unsurprisingly, the Red Cross left Theresienstadt with a glowing report.

1944 letter from the Red Cross alleging they couldn't find any "extermination installations" at Auschwitz https://www.rootsmetals.com/blogs/news/exposing-the-red-cross

THE RED CROSS HELPED NAZIS ESCAPE AFTER WORLD WAR II
Both the Red Cross and the Vatican were responsible for the escape of thousands of high-level Nazi officials after the end of the war. In fact, the two worked together to ensure their escape. The Red Cross alone was responsible for issuing around 120,000 travel documents, many to Nazis. They also issued 25,000 new identity documents. It was due to the actions of the Red Cross that high-level war criminals such as Adolf Eichmann and Josef Mengele were able to escape.
To this day, the Red Cross has refused to comment on these findings, claiming that the travel documents were “misused” by war criminals, rather than acknowledging that the organization took an active role in ensuring their escape. The Red Cross also claims that individual Nazi sympathizers within the organization were responsible for this; in other words, this was a problem of a few bad apples. In reality, recent findings show that this was a systemic problem and that high-level Red Cross officials were well-aware of the issue.
In the decades after the war, the Red Cross continually whitewashed its actions both during and after the Holocaust, only admitting to some wrongdoing in the 1990s.

OBFUSCATING MORAL CLARITY
There are few situations in life where the moral stance should be crystal clear. Opposition to Hamas — and to the Nazis — is one of these cases. Yet, much like the Hamas propaganda machine has worked overtime to obfuscate the moral clarity of 10/7, so did the Red Cross obfuscate the moral clarity of bringing Nazi war criminals to justice.
The second in command at the Red Cross, Carl Jacob Burckhardt, even decried the Nuremberg Trials, calling them “Jewish revenge.”

Recently, I went on a 30-4 TEAR with mono-black to mythic. Today I'll be providing a write-up on the deck and my thoughts on it so that other members of the community can have a go at playing it.
I personally think that dark ritual and reanimate are two of the best cards in the format, and that black also has the best interaction in the format, so I've spent a lot of time tinkering with Bx or mono-B lists since OTJ dropped. I spent a lot of time trying to make a necropotence build work, until I tried this sheoldred + ring build and saw amazing results. Yes, there's some crazy amount of luck here. An 88% winrate can't last forever. 34 games in an online ladder is almost nothing at the end of the day. But I do want to share the deck, as I'd love to see the community refine and improve this list.

Necropotence is worse than The One Ring

I really do think that this build is superior to Necropotence builds (see my first idea for this deck running necro+some devotion cards https://www.moxfield.com/decks/IEB_vC54_EOgmckgg3vzAQ ). Necropotence is a very punishing card in this format, and I really don't think its as broken as other people think. In Timeless, Necropotence is balanced by its sharp draw-backs and the high power level of the format. I think that The One Ring is a superior source of card advantage because it provides you protection for a turn, it can mitigate its own downside via the legend rule, and it can pair incredibly well with Sheoldred to stabilize and play the long game. Necropotence, on the other hand, does nothing in multiples (besides providing devotion), completely locks you out of the game if your opponent plays a pithing needle, cannot remove itself via the legend rule when you don't need more card advantage, and can't overcome its own life-loss with Sheoldred (you need to play a bad card like March and hemorrhage card advantage to make up for the life loss here).
As a quick example, I had a game against a primeval titan player where I wasn't able to sufficiently disrupt them, and they turbo'd out a prime time early. My plan was to turbo a turn 2 Sheoldred, but that's still a losing position by itself against the Primeval Titan nut draw. They had an overwhelming board of zombies that would have killed me on the next attack step, and at any moment they could topdeck Natural Order for hoof. I only had a Sheoldred in play and 4 mana available to me, but I get lucky and top-deck a Ring, buying me a turn and gaining life with Sheoldred. After drawing 3 cards with the ring and drawing for turn, I find another ring, and legend rule it for protection again. I draw more cards, another ring, legend rule it again. Opponent died to my Sheoldred triggers and Deathrite Shaman activations before they could even make another attack. A necropotence deck would not win in this situation without playing a suboptimal storm-based win condition like Beseech the Mirror + Tendrils.

Common Turn 1/2 Play-Patterns

I'd like to go over every card inclusion in the deck individually, but first I'd like to first highlight some of the most busted play patterns that will win you games for context. I love this deck because I can have a broken turn 1/2, it can interact with your opponent very well, and it can also grind with the ring. I really think you should mulligan once to try and get an opening hand with a Dark Ritual or a Reanimate if you don't see these cards in your opening 7.
  • Dark Ritual + Troll + Reanimate + Any 1 mana spell - This is the best opening hand you can have. Play your land for turn, dark ritual. If you have a thoughsieze or other 1 mana spell in hand, play it first to clear the way for your cycle+reanimate. Hopefully you'll discard your opponent's interaction or eat a spell piece so that you can cleanly resolve reanimate on Troll. Then use the other two mana to cycle then reanimate your Troll. In this position, you just put a 6/5 into play and disrupted your opponent on turn 1. Or maybe you put a 6/5 AND a deathrite shaman into play. There are very few removal spells in the format that will kill the Troll early, its nearly impossible to block the troll, and its really just 3 attack steps to kill your opponent with the troll in a fetchland format.
  • Dark Ritual + Thoughtsieze + Reanimate - In the blind, this is an interesting decision. You might want to Thoughseize alone and save your Dark Ritual for turn 2 if its game 1 and you have no other information. If you high-roll, you can get your own Atraxa on turn 1. If you low-roll and can't discard a creature, you waste a Dark Ritual. I personally prefer to only cast thoughsieze on turn 1 when I don't have any information on my opponent's hand or deck. I like to save the Dark Ritual for my turn 2 play, where I can act on the information I gained from thoughseizing with 4 mana available to me. The only exception to this is when I have other things to do with the extra Dark Ritual mana. For example, the opener could be Dark Ritual + Thoughtsieze + Reanimate + Bowmasters, where you just cast a turn 1 bowmasters if you don't discard a sweet reanimate target. Or Dark Ritual + Thoughtsieze + Reanimate + DRS + DRS. The flexibility of being able to follow up your Thoughsieze with a reanimate OR a threat based on what you see is what makes this really potent.
  • Dark Ritual + The One Ring/Sheoldred - Combined with a thoughtsieze, this is the second best opening hand the deck can have. I LOVE getting Rings and Sheoldreds out on turn 2. Its how this deck wins games. Clear the way turn 1 with a discard spell, or if you can't use a Deathrite Shaman to bait removal. Then on turn 2, go for your busted ritual turn. If you thoughsiezed turn 1, you can act on the information you gained. If your opponent is holding up a spell pierce, then don't try and turbo out a ring. If they're holding up a mana drain, let them waste their mana and just pass. The Ring will give you card advantage no matter when you play it, so you can be patient against countermagic you can play several dark rituals or threats on later turns to get through counterspells (being able to flash out bowmasters on opponent's end steps is a fantastic way to force them to tap mana to counter or remove it). Sidenote - most players will NOT counter your dark ritual and instead try to mana drain whatever you cast using the dark ritual mana. A way to get around this is to do something like cast Dark Ritual (which doesn't get countered) followed up by a Thoughseize (which they're almost forced to counter) followed up by your real threat.
  • Fair Hands (Deathrite Shaman, Bowmasters) - Wow this deck can play fair magic too! I don't need dark ritual on turn 1 to win! This deck performs great on a basic draw that interacts with your opponent. Turn 1 deathrite shaman, turn 2 discard Harvester to interact, turn 3 Ring. Or turn 1 Thoughsieze, turn 2 bowmasters, turn 3 interaction, turn 4 ring/sheoldred. If you can get to turn 4 in these sorts of games, you're generally going to win as your smother your opponent with card advantage and sheoldred triggers. In some matchups however, you might want to mulligan a slow fair hand if it doesn't interact well with your opponent's strategy.

Individual Cards

Lets go over every card and why I believe it belongs in the deck:
  • Dark Ritual - No explanation needed.
  • Reanimate - Not much explanation needed for this either, beyond the fact that you need at about a dozen enablers to make this card work. An enable is a card that can discard your opponent's creatures, or a way for you to discard your own big creature. We have a dozen exactly - 4 thoughtseize and 8 big creatures that can discard themselves. Plus, all of our other creatures are reasonable backup targets that we're happy to reanimate when the eat a removal spell.
  • Troll of Khazad-Dum - A legacy staple alongside reanimate, it serves the same purpose in this deck. It enables busted turn 1/2 reanimations of a 6/5 pseudo-unblockable creature. It dodges most removal spells in the format. It lets us lower our land count down to just 19. Its also hard-castable with Dark Ritual, similar to how Vein Ripper functions in pioneer by being a cheat target that can also be cast fairly on later turns.
  • Harvester of Misery - Listen up kids this card makes the deck click. I haven't seen anyone else really talking about this card or playing it on ladder. This is a fantastic card that serves multiple roles in the deck. It is an UNCOUNTERABLE targeted removal spell, it is a boardwipe for small creatures, it is a reanimate target that puts itself into the graveyard, and it is a 5 power threat with menace. Oftentimes, you end up discarding this on turn 2 to answer your opponent's cheap threat, and this is a good play to make regardless of whether or not you can reanimate this card. The fact that this removal spell is UNCOUNTERABLE has won me games against slow UBx decks, this is an un-counterable way to kill their bowmasters so you can get drawing cards with your Ring. Harvester's boardwipe potential is also amazing. It cleanly kills Field of the Dead tokens for example. Its discard ability can stack with its ETB if you reanimate it. For example, if your opponent is on Jund with a board of Jarsyl (3/3), bowmasters, and a DRS, you can discard this targeting Jarsyl to shrink it to a 1/1, then reanimate it to wholesale wipe your opponent's board. PLEASE REMEMBER THAT THE BOARDWIPE IS SYMMETRICAL - playing this guy will kill your own DRS and Bowmasters as well. I sometimes let myself fall behind on board if I'm trying to set up a big play with harvester.
  • The One Ring and Sheoldred - Lumping these together because we know how it works. These are both fantastic cards to play on Turn 2 off a ritual that can win the game. I already went over some scenarios before, and I'm sure we know how it goes by now. As I explained before, I think this package is much better than trying to play Necropotence.
  • Thoughsieze - Premium discard spell in the format, doesn't need much explanation. I will note that I am not playing Duress or Inquisition in the maindeck because they do not synergize as well with Reanimate. If there was another discard spell that could discard big creatures, I would play it. Can I thoughtsieze myself to set up reanimate? No, you're lost in the sauce. Don't do that. Point the card at your opponent please.
  • 1x Demonic Tutor - Its restricted for a reason. I'm not sure how many copies the deck would play if it wasn't restricted, as 4 copies would be a lot. But it helps a lot with consistency in the mid-late game, and I've cast it off a ritual on turn 1 when I went Dark Ritual -> Thoughseize discarding Show + Tell -> DT for Surgical Extraction -> goodbye combo piece.
  • Deathrite Shaman - This card is banned in every other format for a reason. Its a mana accelerant that is also a late-game win condition. It can gain you life in a pinch. Its passive graveyard hate. Mwah.
  • Orcish Bowmasters - This is a very good card that keeps the power level of the deck up. I don't think I need to tell you the pros and cons of bowmasters if you're reading this much about timeless. You will sideboard this card out a lot, it has good matchups and bad matchups. But man is it good in the good matchups. As I stated before, its really good against blue decks, and often can bait out counterspells or removal to clear the way for your real threats.
  • 3 Fatal Push and 1 Sheoldred's Edict - Seems like a pretty good maindeck removal suite. Maybe someone will type an essay on why it should be 4 fatal pushes and 2 edicts. Or how I can get away with less fatal pushes. This is something you can tweak if you pick up the deck.
  • 1 Maindeck Liliana of the Veil - This is a flex spot that I've swapped around a lot. Really, this is just going to become a grief in a month when MH3 drops. Turn 1 lili off a dark ritual breaks a lot of decks backs. I originally had a maindeck Ashiok in this slot, which can also be a backbreaking play against some decks but it did literally nothing against others. This slot is completely flexible, feel free to add another removal spell or your personal pet card.
  • 8 Fetchlands - I do believe you need to run fetchlands to enable your Deathrite Shaman. 8 fetchlands seems to consistently enable its mana ability, and allow me to splash green for its other lifegain ability. These fetches also let me get my utility lands.
  • 1x Underground Mortuary - Surveil land that you will fetch frequently. I am considering running two, but I don't want too many taplands to disrupt my turn 1 Dark Ritual plays. Keep in mind, Troll more or less counts as 4 tap-lands already. Our untapped land count is pretty low for a monocolor deck.
  • 1x Overgrown Tomb - Untapped land for DRS activated ability. You can also put a green card in your sideboard if you wish. I'm not, buy maybe there's a card worth playing. A light splash in on color is pretty free for this deck.
  • 1x Gate of the Black Dragon - This tap land lets you spend 5 mana to "draw a card" once. This is significantly better than drawing a card, as it guarantees you hit a nonland card, and it gets around "draw a card" punishers like Bowmasters. I find myself fetching this and activating this in slower matchups, especially when my opponent is holding up countermagic. I don't activate it super frequently, but its absolutely worth having for the price of one tapped land. FYI Troll can grab this or Mortuary when you cycle it.
  • 1x Takenuma - Pretty free way to buy back your threats. There's not enough effects in this format to punish nonbasic lands for this to not be worth running one copy of.
  • 7 basics - keeps the manabase relatively painless for a fetchland manabase.
Sideboard Cards:
  • 3 Surgical Extraction - This comes in for unfair combo decks only. Use this to rip Show + Tell from your opponent's hand, and then rip it from their deck. Only sideboard these in if you're also sideboarding in your extra discard spells, or if your opponent is filling their own graveyard.
  • 2 Duress + 2 Inquisition of Kozilek - I like having more discard spells in the sideboard. I don't like that these can't hit big creatures to reanimate, but these are for control decks and unfair decks primarily. I'm not sure if the 2/2 split here is correct, or if 4 discard spells in the sideboard is correct. Another discard spell on my radar is Mind Spike which is a duress that lets you draw a card if you "miss" at the cost of 2 life. I've run it before in Death's Shadow lists and it performed well.
  • 2 Path of Peril, 2 Meathook Massacre, and 1 Fatal Push - this is the fair deck sideboard package, which comes in against creature decks as Thoughsiezes come out. I don't always board in all 5 together, and I again don't know if this is the correct combination of spells. Perhaps some Sheoldred's Edicts or some good old fashioned Doom Blade style cards are needed instead. However I will say that both Meathook and Path of Peril have overperformed for me. Dark Ritual can enable a crazy meathook turn, and you can also hide behind The One Ring's protection and watch your opponent build up their board before delivering the boardwipe. Path of Peril lines up really well against Tarmogoyf decks, as Harvester and Meathook can struggle to kill that card. I'm 110% open to other suggestions for these slots.
  • 2 Ashiok, Dream Render - this was originally in the maindeck and got moved out to the sideboard. It can be a BACKBREAKING card to cheat out with a Dark Ritual against some decks. It's also selective graveyard hate, which I really like. I don't like playing Leyline of the Void in this deck because it nerfs my own Reanimates. However, Ashiok lets me choose when to exile my opponent's graveyard, so I can wait until I cast my Reanimate, then active the planeswalker ability. Oftentimes, you just run Ashiok as a static hatepiece for searching libraries and don't active the ability at all.
  • 1 Pithing Needle - this sideboard slot is flexible, needle is a catch-all for random combo decks that rely on activate abilities, and tough planeswalkers to beat. I originally had 2 copies of pithing needle in the sideboard. I can be convinced that its correct to turn 2 copies, and I can also be convinced to put another card in this slot.
I'm also incredibly high on this deck because of the impending addition of Grief to the format. Grief slots perfectly into this deck, and might be the card that catapults this deck to the top. This deck is already incredibly consistent in disrupting your opponent and backing that disruption up with a threat, and Grief will only take it to the next level.

TLDR

Dark Ritual is busted. You should try this deck and win some games with it. If we all work together, I'm pretty sure we can get Dark Ritual and/or Grief restricted by the end of the summer :^)

2024.05.21 18:28 Puginator Comcast Reveals Pricing for Netflix, Peacock, Apple TV+ Bundle; $15/month

Comcast, as its legacy cable TV business continues to shrink, has built a new cable-style bundle for the streaming era.
Beginning next week, the cable giant will offer StreamSaver, a package that includes NBCUniversal’s Peacock Premium (with ads), Netflix Basic (with ads) and Apple TV+ for a discounted price, available to TV and broadband customers in its footprint.
As an add-on to Comcast TV or broadband, the StreamSaver bundle will cost $15 per month — a discount of at least 35% compared with price of the services purchased separately. In addition, Comcast will offer Netflix and Apple TV+ to its Now TV streaming-only service, which has Peacock and 40 free, ad-supported streaming TV channels, for $30 per month (versus $20/month without them).
Dave Watson, president and CEO of Comcast Cable, announced the details Tuesday at J.P. Morgan’s 2024 Global Technology, Media and Communications Conference.
“These are three premium streaming services that are combined in one compelling package,” Watson said, noting that StreamSaver is focused on boosting Comcast’s broadband business. “It’s a home run for consumers… We’re thrilled to have Netflix and Apple as partners.”
On a standalone basis, the trio of services would cost $23-$25 per month: The ad-supported Peacock Premium is $5.99/month, going up to $7.99/month in July; Netflix Basic with ads costs $6.99/month; and the standard Apple TV+ plan at $9.99/month.
Watson said the priority for Comcast Cable is “investing in the network for the long haul,” in the anticipation that there will be “more streaming, more consumption” over time.
Comcast chief Brian Roberts first announced plans for StreamSaver one week ago at another investor conference. “We’ve been bundling video successfully and creatively for 60 years, and so this is the latest iteration of that,” Roberts said. “I think this will be a pretty compelling package.”
Bundles aggregating streaming services from would-be competitors have gained new popularity among traditional media companies, which view them as a way to cut customer-acquisition costs and reduce churn (i.e., cancelation rates).
Disney and Warner Bros. Discovery have announced a triple-play bundle comprising Max, Disney+ and Hulu, to be available starting this summer in the U.S. (with pricing yet to be announced). In addition, Venu Sports — a joint venture of Disney, WBD and Fox Corp. — anticipates launching a sports-centered live-streaming bundle in the fall of 2024, pending regulatory approval. There’s no word on pricing for Venu at this point.
Meanwhile, Disney offers discounted bundles with Disney+, Hulu and ESPN+ and has pushed to integrate them even more tightly together. Disney+ recently added a tile for Hulu (for customers with both services) and is using the tie-in to promote the bundle. In December, Disney+ will add a hub for ESPN+, providing some free games and programming to those who don’t subscribe to the sports package in a bid to upsell them.

2024.05.21 18:28 Alternative_Shadows Looking for help so i can move.

Hello everyone,
I am desperate so i am hoping to get some help from anyone who can offer it if possible. I currently live in the U.S. I am in school for computer science and hope to finish soon and land a good job. However, my girlfriend and her family recently had to move to another state for her parents work. I went to visit her and spent the best week of my life with her. I am now looking to move however the issue comes from not having money. I have a job in retail and can likely get one in the new state but it would not be enough money to support myself as currently i live with my parents while i finish my degree. I am wondering if anyone has good ways to make money online. I know that nothing is sure fire to work but anything that has a chance to work and make decent livable money. If anyone is willing to help me or mentor me i promise on my life to repay it back as soon as i get the first chance to be able to. I have been major depressed to the point where i can only eat 1 meal a day i know that this is not a concern to anyone here and i understand that this may seem like just a giant sob story but i am very desperate and really need to find a way to move to where she is. Any help of any kind would be greatly appreciated. I've also developed websites and apps for my uncles business so i have some work experience in that field as well.
If anyone needs more information or has anyways to make this possible please reach out to me. I am not above working for people for whatever they need. If anyone has a business or anything and is willing to hire me and train me for a short period i am a very quick learner and am willing to put in over 12 hours a day if need all i want is just to be with my girlfriend.
As a sidenote once i finish my degree and if i am fortunate enough to have a stable income i plan to propose to my girlfriend we have already been together for 5 years and i cannot imagine a day without her. I would give absolutely and do absolutely anything to be with her.
Sorry you all had to listen to the gibberish at the end but again any help is always appreciated

I thought I saw an infographics at one point that showed 150,000 equal flow Delta pros had been sold if that’s the case and the 3200 refurbished sold on eBay is not the total number of refurbished that would put the failure rate probably 5 to 10% for these units
For $1500, which is the current price on eBay who would purchase taking into consideration, failure rate and price?

Then, when I woke up this morning, ya'll...I had over 1500 messages in my inbox and the thread has fucktupled in upvotes, just overnight. I'm so sorry if I didn't respond to you...it was a fool's errand to try and get to everyone.
I also want to address specifically a small handful of you...the ones I was certain would show up in the comments to basically call me a liar or say my story was fabricated. Some of the reasons you gave were pretty telling. My favorite was when someone said something along the lines of "This is too well-written to be true." What a world we live in where clear dictation automatically disqualifies a recounting of events from being accurate. I'll admit that it read closer to a novel than anything else, but that's just how I dictate I guess.
Anyways, onto the update.
I arrived at the tire shop just a hair after 8:00am. There was one gentleman in line at the counter when I arrived, but he was already being assisted by one of the associates manning the register. I took a look around and peeked my head in the back office area where I knew John typically worked when he wasn't being pulled into a bay.
John wasn't there.
As I walked towards the sitting area, I happened to ask an employee who was walking by if he knew when John would be in today. He told me John usually arrives a bit before 9:00am when he worked mornings, so I should just chill for a bit. I didn't have anything pressing to attend to today, so I did just that.
As I moved towards a seat, I happened to glance outside at the working bays and noticed my ol' buddy Eric, who was currently walking towards the main building. When he saw me, I watched as his head drooped down and I could visibly see him mutter the word "Fuck" under his breath. He stopped for just a second, shook his head, and continued walking towards the building.
When he came inside, he set a packet with what I presume was a customer order on the counter and said something to the clerk at the register. He hesitated for a moment and walked over to where I was sitting. As he approached, I greeted him with "Morning, Eric." and smiled. He just stood over me for a moment before he took a chair across the coffee table that was sitting in front of me.
Wonder what his next move was?
Honestly, I didn't expect it, but the dude opened with "I owe you an apology."
Color me shocked, I guess.
Now, you see...at this point about a billion things began to run around in my head. MOSTLY, for some reason, the things that ran most prominently through my mind were all the calls for bloodshed that popped up in the last thread. All the claims that Boomers can never learn and the only language they knew was bullying, which were thrown at me like mortars practically every step I took. Ya'll were bloodthristy last night and still were this morning, convinced that this gentleman was a drunkard asshat, but do drunk asshats apologize after doing something wrong?
Back to the story.
He continued on, saying that he didn't just owe ME an apology, but also the cashier he yelled at last night, and how he had actually planned on returning to Walmart on his lunch break to see if she was working so he could apologize to her as well. In his words "I've been dealing with a lot of personal shit in my life recently including the loss of a loved one, and I took that out on ya'll last night and it wasn't right."
Right about this time is when I noticed that John had arrived. He walked in through the door behind where Eric and I were sitting and walked straight into the back area I checked before. We will get to that later.
Guys, I honestly had no idea what to do. On one hand yes, this dude was a raging douchebag to that girl last night, but this felt genuine. I mentioned several times in the first thread that I didn't want to react hastily and this is exactly why. Had I gone in there and thrown a colossal fit and started a shitstorm, I don't know if this would have ended the same.
Anyways, I don't wish to grandstand things further. The guy apologized, I stood up and shook his hand, and I simply told him "Be good to people for no reason, man. Kindness is free and isn't a sign of weakness." We chatted a bit and had a bit of a revelation that Eric and I have a distant connection neither of us really knew about. I won't disclose what or how we knew each other for personal reasons.
Then John came out of the back office.
He recognized me and gave me a hug. Asked what I was in for. I basically told him that I ran into Eric at the store last night and wanted to check in on him and get an update on an issue he was having there.
That's when John said "Yeah, Eric I need to talk to you about that. I had a lady call me about something that happened at Walmart you were involved in."
Oh shit. I'm guessing either the manager or the cashier called John after what happened last night. I guess the ball isn't in my court any longer.
Eric gave a deep sigh and basically told John "I was a shithead to a cashier last night because I was in a hurry. I wasn't thinking and it wasn't right. I'm gonna make it right at lunch time. I hope she's working today." John then said something I didn't catch and him and Eric walked into the back room.
That's it. End of story. I took a scrap from a notebook, jotted down my "proof" and snapped a photo, then jumped in my car and left.
I certainly hope that this brings you guys whatever closure you were looking for. I'm certain some of you aren't going to be happy with how this turned out, given how many pitchforks I saw last night. But after all this, all I can say is to not be so hasty when jumping to conclusions. People are people, ya'll. You can't really be sure what someone is going through before you jump to judgment. Some folks don't know how to ask for forgiveness or don't know how to take responsibility for their actions, but some folks can. I'm glad this resolved itself the way it did. John knows what happened and knows that it happened with his business on full display, so he can now CHOOSE how HE reacts with that information. I got the closure I needed, and I hope the cashier does too. Time will tell in that regard, I suppose.
Be good to each other.
