Hello everyone! Im currently sponsoring my spouse for PR and we have received AOR last week. based on the estimated ETA on IRCC's website, he could get PR around December. But i'll be leaving Canada to visit my Mom & Family around last week of November for about a month or 2 but im unsure if there will be an issue on our application about that. Thank you!

Hi everyone, Applied on Jan 15th, left country after applying and out of country since. Jan 30th received AOR. Mar 6 - citizenship test in progres Mar 15 - Background verification completed Mar 15 - scheduled for test April 9 - test completed April 21 - received email requesting documents(all pp copies etc.) along with expected date or return to Canada.
Sent promptly. Have not received any update since, and no progress on application status portal. Language skills, prohibitions, physical presence still showing "in progress". I am still out of the country. I am delayed in returning to canada, I had stated i would return on may 20th but now will be returning on June 2nd. 2 questions-
A) Should i follow up and inform via email on my delayed return? B) Should i get back to Canada immediately? Is my physical presence required to move the file?
C) Any idea why the file is not moving forward?

Hello everyone, I'm starting on Ham Radio, so apologies for the noob question.
I own a Tecsun S2000 and I'm planning to buy an SDR (SDRPlay) for extended range and better capabilities. I'm just planning to receive, so no transmission in mind. I'm thinking to buy an external antenna (AOR SA7000) for the SDR. Because the Tecsun also have 3 antenna connectors, I want to use the external antenna on the Tecsun as well.
So correct me if I'm wrong, but a Diplexer would reduce the quality of the signal, so I need an antenna switch with one input and at least 4 outputs. Is that correct? Is there anything more I need to take into consideration?
Both antenna and SDR have a frequency range up to 2Ghz, I'm not sure if there's anything worth listening that high, but I don't want to reduce the range neither.

My In-land Spousal-PR is currently processing, but since I received my AOR, I got my Open work permit approved and also a valid eTa (Thai passport). Can I leave to go back to Thailand with my husband (Canadian Citizen) without any issues?

Hello everyone! I am the principal applicant in the spousal sponsorship (applied on 2024-04-27). My husband received the AOR today, 2024-05-16 (literally an email that states that IRCC received the application). There was no request for additional documents or modifications, thankfully.
As we are located in Quebec and the website says "When Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) informs you that you are eligible to sponsor a person, you must submit an undertaking application to the Ministère de l’Immigration, de la Francisation et de l’Intégration (Ministry). The application must be accompanied by a permanent selection application for the person you want to sponsor.", I'd like to ask if the AOR is basically the sponsor approval letter or we should wait for something else. We have to submit an additional application with MIFI here and I'd like to know if we can use the AOR for this purpose. Does anyone know?
Also, while I'm at it, I might as well ask another question. I specifically submitted the application to be INLAND, therefore Spouse in Canada Class, however the email says, quote: "This confirms that your application to Sponsor a Member of the Family Class has been received." Is this a generic expression for the fact that I'm his wife?
Finally... if anyone else has gone through the inland sponsorship process in Quebec, I would greatly appreciate it if you'd tell me a short list of the documents (forms) you sent out to MIFI. Some of them don't seem to apply for our case and I have found some conflicting information, such as if the sponsorship is outland you have to submit extensive financial documents whereas if it's inland, not really.

I have submitted my permanent residency application using the Inland Spousal Sponsorship program on April 28th. I am currently on an open work-permit which is expiring in the second week of June, this year. I know that I can apply for an extension of open work-permit once I get the AoR. But I have not received my AoR and I am starting to get worried.

I also know that I can apply for an extension of my work-permit 2 weeks before the expiration date if I don't get the AoR. Can someone please guide me through how I can apply for an extension without AoR. I just want to be prepared in case I don't receive the AoR in time.

Hi everyone!
Need to understand something that is kind of confusing in the Outland Spousal Sponsorship process. So myself (not a Canadian citizen) and my fiance (she is a canadian citizen) are planning to get married soon and was going through the IRCC website and came across the new family reunification law. Basically we are going to get married in our home country and gonna apply for Sponsorship from there.
Since the Sponsorship takes some time and she needs to return to Canada after marrying, we were thinking of going for an open work permit until the PR is processed so that we dont have to spend time apart and i can move to Canada with her and start our life together. What we understood by this family reunification law was the below:
• Apply for outland spousal Sponsorship and wait for AOR.
• Once AOR is received, use the AOR to get myself a visit visa (website says that they are processed faster so that the spouses can be together sooner).
• Using the visit visa obtained using AOR, land in Canada and apply for an Open Work Permit. Once processed, i will recieve it and then can start looking for work.
• While working, the PR will be processed and i will no longer need the OWP since i will have the PR.
If i have mentioned anything incorrect above please do call out :)
Now comes the confusing part. By definition, a visit visa is a temporary visa given so that the person must return back to their own country right? So isnt this family reunification procedure for outland spousal Sponsorship clashing with itself since i have to get a visit visa (a temporary stay) using AOR as a spouse for the purpose of landing there and applying for a OWP which is a more permanent means of staying there, and knowing that the PR will be completed a mere few months later?
So when applying for visit visa using AOR should i prove that i am coming back to my country or since im applying through AOR as a spouse will they know that i will anyways be going to permanently stay by getting the OWP and then the PR since the family reunification procedure was brought in just for that and IRCC themselves are promoting spouses to apply for visit through AOR and then land and apply for the OWP.
Sorry for the long post everyone :o Just super confused as to how it works and what to say to immigration when getting the visit visa through AOR.

Hello all,
I am currently planning on submitting my express entry profile I did TEF test and booked IELTS test this upcoming Sunday May 19, I plan on applying as soon as I get my IELTS results to complete my profile.
My current PGWP expires mid-October but I plan to apply latest by begining June. My question regarding BOWP is I need clarification on when you can apply which states that it is after receiving AOR.
• After submitting your EE profile in the pool how long does it roughly take to get AOR?
• Is it automatic to receive AOR after submitting your EE profile since its technically "an Acknowledgement letter that confirms IRCC has received your application"
• Would you guys suggest to apply BOWP (if I have received AOR) when my PGWP is about to expire so as to take advantage of long processing times to remain on implied status for abit longer?
• Lastly what is the typical length/duration of a BOWP once its issued? Is it extendable? If so typically for how long or how many times?
I am stressing out abit about running out of status because not only would I have to go back home to wait for an ITA but I currently live with my younger sister who doesn't work because she's at school full time and I basically take care of everything. Any answers or suggestions are highly appreciated!

Hey Guys, My PGWP expired on March 17th 2024. I received ITA on March 12th. I have had already applied for visitor record before the ITA to maintain status. I submitted my application and received AOR on April 30th. My question is how to apply for BOWP from this situation? TIA
