I (F28) worked at a company we’ll call Disney Genie Movie Title (I ain’t about to get sued the company just happened to be named after this movie. I. Did. Not. Work. At. Disney.)at my college: I was trained for multiple positions: Chick-fil-A, Chilaca, partially for both Starbucks, catering, and the cafeteria. My main jobs were: Chick-fil-a, catering, Chilaca (cheap Chipotle) and the cafeteria. Wherever they needed me is where I worked. One day I’d be at Chick-fil-A the next I could be catering the next I could be at Chilaca, the next I could be in the cafeteria. I was their floater and I did good at those jobs. My main place was Chick-fil-A.
I worked at Disney Genie Movie for 6 years +, I worked under two managers we’ll call: Crystal and Todd. Crystal was a year older than me she’s 30 this year. So I’d say she was 24 during this story. I had no issue with Todd what so ever our boss above Todd who hired him, we’ll call Henry. Henry was the boss for all the companies i worked for, you wanted transferred he was who you went too, you wanted to fire someone he is who you went too, if you wanted to try new food for our students he is who you went through, you get the gist.
Crystal and Todd were fine at first. Crystal would annoy me at times and piss me off at times. Whose boss or coworker hasn’t made them mad from time to time. Fast-Forward a little bit: one manager quit, I transferred from night to day shift, and Crystal wouldn’t stop calling me in the middle of class to get me to work.
When I would refuse to go into work Crystal wouldn’t talk to me for a whole day as a punishment of hers. You read that right: to punish her worker for saying no to a shift because they were in class, she wouldn’t talk to them.
Fast-Forward again: One of my managers is having hip surgery and Todd and Crystal are bugging that my manager about coming back and when she will come back, litterally a week after surgery. We’re following Covid rules of 6 feet before the shut down. I had to work a job outside of the jobs I already had because money was tight.
One day I had a wedding that I scheduled off for, Crystal knew this and knew that I was a bridesmaid for this wedding. The wedding was in the evening, which she also knew. In the middle of getting ready for the wedding she texts me that she needs to call her asap. She called me three times already. I do answer the 4th time that she was calling me: in the middle of prepping for the wedding on the day of the wedding. She wanted me to work the next day and I told her I couldn’t because I was already working my second job. She didn’t talk to me for 3 days because of this. Which I don’t work that shift she needed anyways.
Why did she need me to work a shift I NEVER work? I learned from a coworker that on the day of the wedding: Crystal took a 30 person order in the middle of lunch rush when it was just Crystal and my favorite manager working register. After taking the 30 person order she didn’t help my favorite manager with the 30 person order. My favorite manager finished it all then went into the back to prep more food. Crystal came to the back and yelled at him for having an attitude. He yelled back and quit right on the spot. He was supposed to work the shift she asked me to work. So fellow potatoes: she wanted me to clean up her mess.
This should have made me quit but it didn’t. I got a 3 day vacation of not hearing her talk to me and butter me up. What made me transfer up to the cafeteria: She got onto me after taking on a 60 person order, in the middle of COVID after shut down that she made her 7 year old daughter pack up with us. She was mad that I was mad about the order and went to Todd. Todd went to her after promising he wouldn’t.
I went above her and Todd’s head and got a transfer with Henry to the cafeteria.
Revenge: She had to hire 6 people to replace me and even then she still wanted me to come back. Y’all I wish this was the only time I got that revenge. But whatever deity you believe in was smiling their light on me because I got the same revenge twice but different.
So I worked with Henry at the cafeteria and things were fine. Though things were getting a lot on me: see my physical health until about a month ago for 3 years was awful. I was always at an 8-10 on the pain scale, my legs would give out sometimes, and my back and hip made it hard to move. There was no hope, with this pain I was working the job of 6 people and my old manager Crystal kept on trying to butter me up to try to get me to come back.
Henry went from decent when it came to bosses too a literal nightmare but I got to work with my best friend. However: I was working a lot to the point that my mental health was taking a toll.
I was working someone else’s shift AND my shift for a month straight no days off, because I would be guilt tripped into working on my days off. Yes, I am a recovering people pleaser. I wasn’t even asked if I would work the doubles: they were just pushed onto me. I was working for a coworker who was in a car accident and couldn’t work.
When she came back and was cleared for work: I came to my boss Henry to ask for a favor. I want to make it known in the 6 years of working in that company: the only thing I asked for was a transfer. I bent over backwards for that company.
I told my boss that my mental health had taken a toll and I wanted to take the weekend shift off as my 2 days so I could get my mental health back on track. I was going to come back to working weekends. I just needed a break. He told me no.
Alright fine: I left that office and started looking for new jobs. I put in my two weeks and left. I floated in between because I left the job that I left Disney Genie Movie for, because I wasn’t leaving one toxic workplace for another. (The owner got into my face because of how I was holding a cup, so I left mid shift).
Fast-Forward to a couple months into my new job at my states electric company: Henry was asking someone to ask me to come back. I said: When he pays me 17 dollars an hour (current salary at the time) and Hell freezes over. I got fired because I got so sick I had to be taken off for a month.
Today: I am currently at a wonderful job with wonderful workers and Henry is still struggling begging for me back according to an old coworker. I also am on my way to a promotion at my new job. I am thriving about to get a position as manager. This my fellow potatoes is the best revenge anyone can have: success.

Just graduated high school and I have no idea what I want to do. I am not going to college and am wondering what jobs could sustain a living without a degree ex: 3-5000$ monthly? I currently work at Chick-fil-A and make 17.50 as a trainer. But that’s not much to live off of.

I come from a restaurant background, and for the last 3 years have managed a restaurant. I was looking to step into a more corporate role, and I was offered an interview at Chick Fil A as an HR Coordinator. However, I did notice that it's not a home office type job, you work at the store itself.
What does your role look like? How much time do you spend interacting with guests or working on the floor?

Sorry if this seems like a dull novel but I'm seeking advice Hello to everyone that is apart of this sub. This is my first post here but I'm 16 years old and I was wondering what kind of positions would be most ideal for someone who's autistic/has little tolerance for people. My older sister, who had worked at Chick-fil-A for a few years, told me that I could do well there. It's structured with what you're doing and it's hard to make errors; however, my issue lies in the fact that Chick-fil-A attracts alot of people and is chaotic. You're forced to be consistently jovial to the customers and say, "My pleasure." Would it be better to try and apply for a backroom stocking position at a retail store like Target for example? I live in the rural countryside so it's barren out here and I'm not capable of heavy manual labor. When I went on Tiktok to see if it could be helpful, I saw that one autistic woman had simply taken her interest for painting bugs/flowers and turned it into a business. Unfortunately I'm quite limited with my options because I had burnt out with my interest for art/drawing. I have no friends so that puts me at a disadvantage as I've heard that's it's about having connections in the workplace. Supposedly it's "not what you know, but who you know." If anyone could help me asap that'd be great because at this point I'm like a leech to my mother (financially). I can to try give more details if necessary.

You can only reload your Chick-Fil-A ONE card in whole number values between $10-$99. For example, you can load $10.00 into your account but not $10.01.
I somewhat understand the minimum $10 limitation because of credit card processing fees. But the limitation preventing you from loading in non whole number increments is unreasonable. I don’t think it was always this way. I remember being able to calculate how much I needed to reload to my card to conclude a transaction with a $0 balance on my ONE card.
It’s almost impossible to get rid of a balance on your ONE card now. There’s only a 1% probability of each transaction working out such that you can zero your ONE card balance. I don’t ever use the ONE card unless I’m given a gift card, but it takes almost a year to get lucky enough to clear the balance once that happens.
It seems like the restriction to only reload in whole numbers was intentionally added to force people to carry a balance. Pretty lame. Is this restriction in place everywhere? I only have experience using the Apple IPhone app.
