This is a communist subreddit for satirizing liberals from a far-left perspective. Liberalism is the ideology of capitalism, free markets, representative democracy, legal rights and state monopoly on violence. It includes a large portion of the present day political spectrum, from the centre-left social democrats to the far-right conservatives and American libertarians. When it comes to liberals, we don't discriminate between tendencies – we satirize all of them equally.

2024.05.29 06:52 Javacoma9988 City Commission is anti free speech.

https://www.youtube.com/live/-N4rYz-q22c?si=OXuihiDqmORIv-pC
From about the 28 minute mark and on, the city commission meeting devolved into some rather weak arguments for limiting free speech.
This is largely due to the people continuously protesting the Israel/Palestinian war and using most of the public comment periods to chastise the commission for not bending to their will. Agree or disagree with their tactics, (Personally I don't think it's effective, they're addressing the wrong level of government among other things you can see in my comment history) the Mayor and two other commissioners not allowing signs due to "safety concerns" because "the police can't see what is going on behind them" is probably the weakest example of leadership I've ever seen, and another example of how comfortable Mahoney is at openly lying.
There are 2-4 armed police officers at every commission meeting. If they don't feel safe, then they should resign instead of trample all over our First Amendment. I will support their right to hold up a sign I may not fully agree with so one day I can hold up a sign they may not agree with. That's what free speech is. I am beyond disappointed in Kolpak, Piepkorn, and Mayor Mahoney.

2024.05.29 06:46 XenoYTRT MechaGodzilla Fan Design

MechaGodzilla Fan Design
Today, I finished a drawing of MechaGodzilla, for this design, I combined aspects of the Kiryu and GvK designs which are my favorites! The lore for this one isn’t really that developed, so I’ll put what I have so far. I’ll start with the shown arsenal. The Mecha has rocket boosters on the back as well as the elbows and calves to increase the impact of physical attacks and to assist in movement (top speed is basically a power walk). The head is large and heavily armored to protect the pilot inside and has hydraulic powered jaws (the inside might be lined with giant meat grinders, but I haven’t decided). The back is lined with missile pods which release clouds of harmful chemicals when detonated. The chest opens up when the weapon inside is finished charging, it’s made to rival a Godzilla’s atomic breath. The tail ends in a weapon comparable to a stinger, once it pierces into an opponent, it ‘injects’ an explosive, operating under the theory that kaiju aren’t as immune to them on the inside. The Mecha also has drones that it can deploy, the drones are more for scouting and distracting opponents with spotlights and noise makers. The drones are shaped like dorsal plates and are normally docked in the Mecha’s back until deployed. As for the pilot, there is a seat in the Mecha’s head that the pilot straps into and puts on a headset that transfers the consciousness of the pilot into the body of the Mecha, hence the Mecha having proportions similar to a human. Originally, the Mecha was designed to be operated by multiple people, the main pilot controlling the Mecha, and others who would operate things like ranged weapons and drones as well as other technical stuff. However, the current pilot was able to operate everything on their own almost seamlessly, and they wouldn’t want it any other way. This pilot has wanted to control the Mecha since it was first being created, mainly cause of their hatred and desire for revenge/power on the kaiju, and also cause their the only one who was crazy/stupid enough to do it. As the years go by and as the pilot trains as the Mecha, they get more and more used to being in that body to the point of developing a sort of ‘phantom limb’ where the tail is and sometimes feel when the Mecha is being operated on, despite being disconnected. The Mecha has also been reported to make small movements on its own, even after being disconnected and powered off. I plan on drawing another version at some point similar to a Heavy Arms or Super variant, with lots of cannons and stuff attached, an then another based on Kiryu and the Earth designs that operates on its own with a much more ‘aggressive’ design. Anyway, what are your thoughts on this guy?

2024.05.29 06:46 sully711 The Newcomer's Guide to Army Composition -- The Dawi

With the surging success of Thrones of Decay and the recent positive news regarding Pharaoh, I'm honestly looking for a enjoyable project to ponder throughout the weekdays before heading home to work on my latest campaign. As such, I'm pleased to announce the introduction of The Newcomer's Guide to Army Composition, a multi-part series featuring effective generic and themed builds for each race within TWW3.
Every few days (ideally), I'll drop a different breakdown of a specific race's generic lord/hero/unit roster with effective, dynamic ways to fill out an army. Overall, these army composition recommendations hold to three core doctrines:
Alright, on to the good stuff…first up, a personal favorite: the Dawi.
While I personally recruit based on the legendary lord and which advantages they provide certain units, whether that's through their unique trait or via their unique skill line, my goal with this breakdown remains typical army compositions for non-legendary lords...here's how I approach a relatively generic build:
A Slayer-Themed Composition
As promised, I also included a great slayer build that I have come to enjoy tremendously:
Enjoy the Dawi, they are an absolute blast to play with now, and I highly recommend experimenting with some of their mid-tier units as well as virtually all variants of grudge settlers…the flame cannons and trollhammer copters are unreal out in the field.

2024.05.29 06:44 mr-athelstan Can I bring a pack of soda through airport security?

For context, I love Big Red. It's my favorite soft drink. I'm what some may call a cult follower of Big Red. It's a red cream soda that tastes similar to bubble gum. If you haven't tried it before and you get the opportunity, I do recommend it. I like to drink it after a long day of working in the yard in the hot sun or make Big Red floats. But there's just one problem, Big Red is a regional beverage. It's sold mostly in the South, primarily Texas. It can be found in some stores in populated areas, but I live in rural po dunk middle of nowhere in the Northwest. In the past I've had cases of Big Red imported from Texas, but the cost to do so has been immense, with a 12-pack costing upwards to $30 and almost everytime a few of the cans come busted open.
However, I've come up with a solution. This summer, I'll be taking a vacation to visit family in the Midwest. At one of the stores there, they sell packs of Big Red. This is where my question comes in. If I were to bring a large suitcase with me and load it up with cans of Big Red to bring home would I be able to bring said suitcase with me through airport security and onto the plane and would said cans of Big Red have any chances of exploding mid flight?

2024.05.29 06:43 linknetwork_ Ring Signature Technology of Link Network: Setting a New Standard for Blockchain Transaction Privacy Protection

Ring Signature Technology of Link Network: Setting a New Standard for Blockchain Transaction Privacy Protection
In a public and transparent blockchain network, all transaction records are visible to everyone, which means anyone can analyze the transaction data to infer users’ identities and behaviors. This poses a significant privacy threat to many users, especially individuals and enterprises with high privacy requirements.
Link Network recognizes the importance of privacy protection in the blockchain ecosystem. Therefore, we employ advanced ring signature technology as one of the core means of privacy protection. Ring signature technology not only effectively hides the identity of the transaction initiator, achieving truly anonymous transactions, but also ensures the legality of the transactions while protecting users’ privacy.
Introduction to Ring Signature Technology
Ring signature technology is a cryptographic signing scheme first proposed by Ron Rivest, Adi Shamir, and Yael Tauman in 2001. The unique feature of ring signatures is that it allows a signer to anonymously sign a message within a group of possible signers, making it impossible for outsiders to determine the actual signer.
Basic Principles and Mechanism of Ring Signatures
  1. Forming a Ring: The signer first selects a group of public keys, which can come from any users, including the signer themselves. This group of public keys forms a ring, and the signer’s public key is hidden within this ring.
  2. Generating the Signature: The signer uses their private key and all public keys in the ring to generate a ring signature. This ring signature appears to be generated by any one of the members in the ring, but only the signer knows the actual signing process.
  3. Verifying the Signature:Verifiers can use the ring signature and all the public keys to verify the validity of the signature, but they cannot determine who the specific signer is.
Ring Signature Technology in Link Network
In Link Network, ring signature technology is widely used to protect the anonymity of transactions. Whenever a user initiates a transaction, the ring signature mechanism generates a ring signature containing multiple potential signers, thus hiding the true initiator of the transaction.
Role of Ring Signatures in Link Network
The main role of ring signature technology in Link Network is to ensure transaction privacy. By using ring signatures, users can hide their identities within a group of possible signers, making it impossible for outsiders to determine who the actual transaction initiator is. This mechanism not only protects users’ privacy but also increases transaction security, preventing potential attacks and privacy breaches.
Achieving Anonymous Transactions
  1. Selecting a Public Key Ring: Users first select a group of public keys, which can be from any user in the network. The user’s own public key is also included in this group.
  2. Generating the Ring Signature: Users use their private key and all public keys in the ring to generate a ring signature. This ring signature can be generated by the private key corresponding to any public key in the ring, but outsiders cannot determine which one specifically.
  3. Broadcasting the Transaction: Users broadcast the ring signature and transaction information to the network. Due to the anonymity of the ring signature, observers cannot determine the actual signer, thus protecting the identity of the transaction initiator.
Signature Generation Process
In Link Network, the generation process of a ring signature involves multiple cryptographic operations. Users use their private key and all public keys in the ring to generate a ring-structured signature through a series of mathematical operations. This signature structure ensures that any public key in the ring could be the signer, enhancing the anonymity and security of the transaction.
Signature Verification Process
Upon receiving the transaction and ring signature, verifiers can use the public keys in the ring to verify the validity of the signature. The verification process ensures that the signature was indeed generated by one of the private keys in the ring, but it cannot determine which specific one. This mechanism not only verifies the legitimacy of the transaction but also protects the signer’s privacy.
Protecting User Identity and Privacy
Through ring signature technology, Link Network achieves breakthroughs in protecting user identity and privacy. Every transaction by a user is anonymous, and no information about the user’s identity is revealed in the transaction records. This feature positions Link Network as a leader in privacy protection, providing users with a highly secure and private transaction environment.
Advantages of Ring Signature Technology
Ring signature technology has unique advantages compared to other privacy protection technologies, making it an important role in blockchain privacy protection.
  1. Complete Anonymity: The biggest advantage of ring signature technology is its complete anonymity. By hiding the signer within a group of public keys, ring signature technology ensures that the identity of the transaction initiator is not disclosed.
  2. Efficiency: Ring signature technology provides high levels of privacy protection while also maintaining high computational efficiency. Although generating and verifying ring signatures involve complex cryptographic operations, these operations can be efficiently executed in modern computing environments.
  3. Security: Ring signature technology not only provides anonymity but also enhances transaction security. By hiding the actual signer’s identity, ring signature technology effectively prevents attacks and fraud against the transaction initiator.
Transaction Privacy Protection
  1. Identity Hiding: The user’s identity is hidden within a group of public keys by the ring signature, making it impossible for outsiders to determine.
  2. Untraceable Transactions: Due to the anonymity of the ring signature, transaction records cannot be traced to specific users, protecting users’ transaction behavior.
  3. Preventing Identity Disclosure: Ring signature technology effectively prevents the disclosure of user identity, protecting users’ personal privacy.
Through these advantages, Link Network sets an industry benchmark in privacy protection, providing users with a highly secure and private transaction environment.
Challenges of Ring Signature Technology and Link Network’s Solutions
  1. Computational Complexity and Resource Consumption: One major challenge of ring signature technology is its high computational complexity and resource consumption. Generating and verifying ring signatures require substantial computational resources, especially when the ring size is large, significantly increasing the computational load. This can lead to slower transaction processing, affecting user experience.
To address this issue, Link Network has adopted various optimization measures. Firstly, we have optimized the ring signature algorithm, reducing computational resource consumption through improved mathematical operations and data structures. Secondly, Link Network uses distributed computing technology, distributing computational tasks across multiple nodes for parallel processing, enhancing computational efficiency. Additionally, we have introduced hardware acceleration technology, using specialized hardware devices to speed up the generation and verification process of ring signatures, thus improving overall processing speed.
  1. Technical Implementation Difficulty: Implementing ring signature technology involves complex cryptographic algorithms and encryption operations, posing a technical challenge for the development team. To ensure the efficient application of ring signature technology in Link Network, we have assembled a team of experienced cryptography and blockchain experts focused on technical research and optimization.
Link Network ensures that every ring signature algorithm and implementation detail undergoes thorough verification through strict technical review and testing processes. We also collaborate with academic and leading industry research institutions, continuously tracking the latest cryptographic research results and applying them to our network in a timely manner.
  1. Network Efficiency and Security: In practical applications, ring signature technology also faces challenges in network efficiency and security. To ensure efficient network operation under high concurrency, Link Network adopts advanced network architecture and data transmission technology. By optimizing network protocols and data processing flows, we have improved the network’s throughput and response speed, ensuring stable and efficient operation even during high transaction volumes.
Regarding security, Link Network implements multi-layer security protection measures to prevent potential attacks and threats. We use multiple encryption and signature verification mechanisms to ensure every transaction undergoes rigorous security checks and validation. Additionally, Link Network has established security monitoring and emergency response mechanisms to promptly detect and address security threats, safeguarding users’ transaction security.
Through these solutions, Link Network overcomes various challenges in the practical application of ring signature technology, ensuring users enjoy efficient and secure privacy protection when conducting transactions.
Future Outlook
As the demand for privacy protection continues to grow, the application prospects of ring signature technology in blockchain are broad. Link Network will continue to promote innovation and development in privacy protection technology, providing users with an increasingly secure and private transaction environment. We are committed to becoming a leader in blockchain privacy protection technology, driving industry progress and development.
In the future, Link Network will continue to invest resources in promoting the research and innovation of ring signature technology and other privacy protection technologies. We will work closely with academia, research institutions, and industry partners to explore new algorithms and technologies, further enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of privacy protection.
Ring signature technology can not only be used for protecting transaction privacy but also extend to other application scenarios, such as decentralized identity verification, data sharing, and privacy computing. Link Network will actively explore these emerging fields, developing more innovative applications based on ring signature technology to provide users with comprehensive privacy protection services.
Link Network will continue to optimize network architecture and technical implementation, enhancing the user experience of ring signature technology. We will introduce more user-friendly interfaces and operation processes, making it easy for users to use ring signature technology to protect their privacy. Additionally, we will strengthen user education and training, helping users better understand and apply privacy protection technologies.
Through these efforts, Link Network will continuously enhance its competitiveness in the field of privacy protection, providing users with increasingly secure and reliable blockchain services. We believe that with the continuous advancement of technology and deeper applications, ring signature technology will play an increasingly important role in the blockchain industry, driving blockchain technology towards a more secure and privacy-friendly future.

2024.05.29 06:41 440Music You Interact to begin carrying a party member. What are you now legally allowed to do? (Stride, Leap, Teleport, etc.)

The Bulk of Creatures is listed within Player Core: "You might need to know the Bulk of a creature, especially if you need to carry someone." We'll suppose your friend is of Medium Size, which is listed as Bulk 6. Unfortunately, "Carry" is not a listed action anywhere in the rules, despite this. We'll assume it takes 1 Interact action and that you will be Encumbered as a result. Interact does not specifically list creature, but there doesn't seem to be an alternative; it does have "Pick up an item from the ground" on the Carrying Items page (there's also a note on Tiny PCs riding larger PCs but no further clarification).
Let's assume you have a speed of 40 feet (Fleet + Quicksilver, if you must have an example). Since you're encumbered, this is now 30.
Rules for Dragging exist, explicitly calling out creature (and as an option instead of carrying them). When doing so, their bulk is halved, it requires 2 hands, and you get a measly (explicit) 5 feet per round, which is confusing, since this ignores bulk limits and character speed. We'll also note that Reposition exists. It requires 1 hand and an Athletics check, and can move 5 to 10 feet per action. There appears to be no RAW way of modifying this for willing or unconscious creatures. Ignoring the confusing rules for Dragging, Reposition seems at least reasonably designed such that you can try to use Athletics to move someone a shorter distance with fewer actions or penalties.
Can you Climb with your friend slung over your shoulder with the Combat Climber feat? Can you crawl with their body on top of you? Can you carry them while flying or swimming with the appropriate move speed? Can you Tumble Through? Can you Leap 15 feet horizontally? Sneak? Balance?
Some spells, like Translocate, forbid you from bringing another creature. Many teleport spells however do not say this! If you are a Monk can you use Abundant Step and bring your friend with you? If you are a Magus can you use Dimensional Assault to do the same? Can you hold on real tight and Flicker together?
You are carrying your friend. You cast Dive and Breach. Do the both of you enter the Plane of Water and come out the other side?
Suppose you first put your friend in a Spacious Pouch. Suppose you Swallow or Engulf your friend first (Perhaps using a rank 4 Enlarge or an Ooze Form to justify this). Does it change the answer?
"But you don't have enough hands!" Fine, give yourself an extra one. Or make yourself Large to justify 1-arming a person. Or assume you are a Master in Athletics. There are clearly ways to mechanically justify the capability.
Is being able to stride while carrying a party member too powerful? What kinds of actions would you allow or expect?

2024.05.29 06:40 kymadu Hfm or mosquito bites?

Daycare told me at pickup today that my son has hfm and the spots would get worse and more in number, and that he has to stay home until they are crusted over. I want to follow the directions and prevent other children from getting sick, but....I'm doubting it's hfm. He's my first kid and quite healthy (he's avoided at least 90% of daycare illnesses and in 2 years has only had to be kept home sick 3 times) so I'm worried that I'm wrong in thinking it's just a few mosquito bites from the night before. He was waving them off and came to tell me there were bugs on his neck so we went inside since it was late anyway.
The "spots" in question is one on the back of his hand, on on his bicep, and three on the back of his neck (one kind of closer to his jaw below his ear), that all look like classic mosquito bites. The other child at daycare with hfm was clearly sick, rash around his mouth, spots/warty looking large bumps on his hands (backs and palms), and not at all himself which was a complete 180 from when I saw the that child in the morning. Basically he looked nothing at all like my son is right now.
Over the evening, nothing further had progressed. No more spots appeared, no rash anywhere, no fever, appetite is just fine, no change in behavior. Checked him head to toe at bathtime. I'm here wondering if I'm completely off base since I've never dealt with an illness before. Daycare described it to me that it was going to get a lot worse by suppertime - that it would be clear he had it in mere hours once they noticed the spots (although I do not know when they noticed the spots could be morning could be 4pm at pick up time). This hasn't happened and google isn't showing me anything that looks like the spots I'm seeing on my kid.
I don't mind staying home with him at all, in fact I often offer to keep my healthy child at home during inclement weathestaff shortages to ensure that parents who don't have a work from home option get dibs on the spot that day. But in this case, I don't feel it's necessary. Obviously if it progresses and he's clearly got it in the morning he will be staying home.
But I suppose I'm asking for advice from experiencex parents on whether daycare was correct that it would start getting worse right away (and if it doesn't then it isn't hfm) or if they were wrong (and I should keep him home because he will eventually get worse in the next few days).
Help a first time mom please!! I don't want to make the daycare mad, since it's a great one although a bit sticky on the sick policy (I previously had to get 2 specialists to write letters supporting my child simply has post nasal drip that aggravates a wierd lung thing that causes him to cough and the two symptoms should not be used to send him home sick). So I am a bit... Less than ready to accept this suggestion to keep him home due to the coincidence of the bugs biting the night before. I'm rambling....thanks in advance for all the insight so I can learn about this!!

2024.05.29 06:39 Pigwthbaconn Please help I’m new and stupid

Please help I’m new need some help with general info on cars wheels and suspension since they confuse me a lot.
My friend is soon to be buying a Suzuki Carry Truck (DC51T) from 1996 and we were looking at some mods/accessories to get.
First were wheels which we were extremely confused by since the size was 4Bx12 and we couldn’t find anything online about them at all, the only sizes coming up being 4x114.3 and 4x110(not sure if this one is right). Is 4Bx12 the same as one of these or is it just a weird size so no one makes wheels for them? I was also wondering how large of wheels we could get while still lowering the car 1-1.5in.
The second thing was that while we were trying to find some Coilovers for them most people had only put the front 2 Coilovers and not the rear which lots of people said could make the car feel and drive weirdly. Not sure if kei trucks don’t need the rear 2 or maybe they just didn’t fit. They were using s13/14 Coilovers which apparently fit very well. Would these work well, do they make specific Coilovers for the carry trucks that aren’t $1700, and are lowering springs better for this?
I have no clue what I’m talking about but I hope that someone can clear up all of this for me since I’m very new to the car scene in general.

2024.05.29 06:36 31234134 What are your thoughts on certain substances allowing you to see Djinn?

The 3Muslims had a video in where they went over a study that discussed the spiritual experiences that subjects on DMT went through, as well as their meeting with the "entities"(Timestamp- 33:48). From this study, it seemed that most of the subjects who were athiests before taking DMT, no longer claimed to follow athiesm after their experience. I believe there were other studies which were done that saw something similar, although I don't think they were as specific or had as large of a subject pool as this one.
This video made me question how one can ascertain which substances provide actual spiritual experiences (communicating with Djinn/realm of Djinn) and ones that simply cause hallucinatory experiences. I tried looking on subs like Psychonaut and those similar to it, but unfortunately, there wasn't much that I could consider concrete. It seems that many who have had their eyes opened to another reality, whether it was truly spiritual or not, have concluded that all psychedelics provide some spiritual experience. Of course, some believed that all psychedelics simply cause hallucinatory experiences and nothing more, and some saw no difference between the two. As you can no doubt understand, this makes it extremely hard to get any concrete answers. YouTube was more helpful, not by a whole lot, but enough to help me in my research.
From what I was able to gather, it seemed that DMT and Shrooms are the best way to communicate with Djinn. Maybe mescaline too, although from what I personally saw, it did not come up as much so I am not too sure about it. On the other hand, drugs like LSD, Ketamine, etc. seem more likely to cause a hallucinatory experience than a spiritual one.
I just want to let you all know that the research I did, was in no way extensive. Due to the current legality of the substances in question, it's practically impossible to properly study something like this. Even if the legality was not an issue, I highly doubt something like this would get much funding, but that's just a personal opinion, so I could be wrong.
What do you guys think? Are there substances that allow us to communicate with Djinn? If so, which substances specifically? How is it possible? Are we even able to study how it's possible?

2024.05.29 06:34 Womantree1 Terrence Howard forgot to mention that the periodic table we currently use now was also discovered in a dream.

I am currently seeing a large smear campaign towards Terrence Howard. Browsing the comments and I’m seeing many people say he’s crazy or deranged.
I heard the podcast he did with Rogan and noticed he forgot to mention that the current periodic table we use was also discovered by Mendeleev in a dream.
If I didn’t know that already, I might have thought he sounded crazy saying that. Because it is crazy. And even crazier that both periodic tables were found in a dream. 🤯
How Mendeleev Invented the Periodic Table in a Dream!
But rather than by willful effort, he arrived at his creative breakthrough by the unconscious product of what T.S. Eliot called idea-incubation — one February evening, after a wearying day of work, Mendeleev envisioned his periodic table in a dream.

2024.05.29 06:34 MakhairaXiphos To The Glory of the Empire (2)

Part One is linked above.
Anhinga had taken to the library hours ago. What was taking the middle aged NightWing so long to get back to her? And why couldn’t she figure out the rest of what that stone tablet said still? This isn’t… a very productive night, is it? She pondered quietly, tapping her claws against one of the shelves in the library. She had scoured every scroll and book in the history section, and none yielded any useful information that the young MudWing hadn’t seen a dozen times over. She found a few that mentioned old dragon tongue, but for some reason none of them listed any way to learn the language; like it had completely gone extinct and was lost to time. With a disappointed sigh and a close of her brown eyes, Anhinga would close the book and gently place it back on its shelf.
“Little one?” A voice would coo happily from behind her. Anhinga whipped around and was met with a smiling face and friendly eyes, a black talon with its silver bracelet marking upon her shoulder. Fatespeaker seemed tired, but joyous to see Anhinga; she had seemingly mellowed out over the years according to Tsunami’s words when Anhinga had asked… and, she was still grieving her husband. She missed her dragonets. Anhinga understood how that felt. “Hi, Mrs. Fatespeaker… are you doing okay today?”
“Yes, dear. I am fine… do you need to check out a scroll or book?” The NightWing would ask with a tilt of her head, faint teardrop markings glimmering softly in lantern-light. Anhinga would shake her head softly.
“Not today, I actually had a question… do you know anything about Old Pyrrhian? I’ve been trying to translate this stone tablet, and-“
“Old… Pyrrhian? Stone tablet?” Fatespeaker interrupted, curious and incredulous. “Well, I don’t know myself; but I’ve heard of the old language before through Pantalan dragons. Perhaps you should ask Cricket when she’s in town. I’m sure she has some information on it. Bumblebee, too… You should get some rest, dear. Don’t give this up, but please remember to take care of yourself.” Fatespeaker would scold after noticing the dark circles under Anhinga’s eyes, who would try to brush it off with an ‘I’m okay’ but Fatespeaker would shoo her out. “Please, when you find out what your tablet means, let me know! We can turn it into an artifact for your history class.”
 ~~~~~~~~~~~ LATER ~~~~~~~~~~~
Anhinga made her way back to her dorm, hearing Carmine’s heavy bull-like snoring echoing down the hallway with the collective irritated groans of other students who were kept up by the sound. By now, she’d gotten used to it, rounding through the doorway and flopping onto her soft nest bed. She would lay there, closing her eyes, tossing and turning.
She began to let her mind wander, thinking about today’s events.
What is out there? Who could have wrote this…? It’s not an old tablet, the scratch marks still had splinters of bone from being written with and still had dark scrawls from ink or soot when I found it on the beach. It couldn’t have been written by a Pantalan unless they’re a history obsessed nerd like I am- Yet another snore would break Anhinga out of her thoughts, her eyes popping open and jaw clenching in annoyance. Carmine and her stupid sleep apnea were about to meet claws to the throat. Anhinga got that Carmine literally could not help it, but the dragon always slept on her back just to mess with everyone else and make their lives harder. With a bit of angry gusto, Anhinga would throw herself out of her bed, haphazardly tidy it up, and march out of her dorm and down the hallway. Maybe going for a flight could help her clear her hyperactive mind and make her tired enough to sleep through Carmine’s incessant thunder snorts. Her dorm was thankfully close to the entrance and exit of Jade Mountain Academy, and within minutes she rounded the corridor into the main foyer. Nope. The office lantern was blown out for the night, and the dean, Sunny, was asleep. Anhinga would sneak past and make it to the cave entrance, backing up and sprinting to take off into the night sky.
The breeze was cool, and the moons were bright. Anhinga felt at ease under the stars.
 ~~~~~~~~~~~ ….. ~~~~~~~~~~~
*Large talons would falter, large slender wings fall. Into an unknown coast would a strange dragon crash, his body casting a massive shadow over the beach. He’d look up, seeing mountains and grass and ocean, stars and the three half moons. He wobbled and stood on his large talons, seeing smaller old talonprints he’d never seen before in the sand nearby.
Where… is he?*

So I have a very long house, with our room at one end and main kitchen area at the other. I have a tweetycam monitor which works great, except it doesn’t quite reach the main kitchen area. I don’t want a wifi camera. I’ve been looking at reviews for infant optics and eufy cam, wondering if anyone with a large house has experience with these brands or suggestions of another brand? Thanks!

2024.05.29 06:30 mrgnstrk Thinking of migrating to the US via F1/student visa route? Start here.

I've commented a few times in a few posts about my family's experience going through the F-1 to H-1B to GC route to migrate to the US and I've received a lot of questions over the DM, many of which I thought were pretty basic. I thought it might be helpful to put this primer together so folks know the right questions to ask and approach their planning more strategically.
This post is going to be very candid. I've noticed that the questions I've received come from misconceptions about higher education, F-1 visa, and what comes after graduation. I want to give folks the right information, but also temper expectations and give a realistic portrait of what it means and takes to use the student pathway to legally and permanently reside in the US. It is not a stroll in the park, and I don't want to give anyone the wrong idea.

BACKGROUND

Two of my siblings plus myself are all here in the US via the student visa route. I received my green card in 2021 after being in the US for nearly 4 years. After receiving my Masters at a prestigious university, I was hired immediately by an organization willing to sponsor my H-1B, which they did so after two years of employment under STEM-OPT work authorization. My employer started putting together my I-140 (Immigrant Petition for Alien Worker, which is the start of the process for an employment-based green card) shortly after receiving approval of my H-1B. As the paperwork was being put together, my partner and I decided to get married and I switched from employment-based green card to marriage-based green card. The employment-based green card would have added around a 3 year wait if we went through with it, while my marriage-based green card was approved in less than a year.
Both my siblings are currently in the same pathway. One received their Bachelors last year, was hired before graduation and has recently received approval for her H-1B. Their employer has committed to sponsoring their employment-based green card next year. My other sibling received their MFA last year and is now in the process of getting their O-1, which is a different kind of work visa. Like me, they both came to the US with a student visa. We were all very strategic about the programs we chose and how we approached networking within our industries.
We also prepared for years. I knew I wanted to get my Masters and permanently reside in the US even before I finished college in Manila. My siblings also knew that early on. So as a family we planned for years, including preparing financially because we knew that we had a very slim chance of getting free rides for our planned degrees. Our early planning also helped with our professional decision-making, because we became very strategic about what kinds of jobs we took after graduation in Manila (except our youngest sibling, who did her Bachelors in the US, so her planning revolved around her academic career in high school). I would say from start (initial planning) to finish (with the last sibling also now on the way to permanent residency), it took about a decade.

GETTING STARTED

Is the student pathway the right pathway for you?
The first question you should ask yourself: can you afford the student pathway to permanent residency in the US? Higher education in the US is not cheap. Universities very rarely offer full scholarships to Masters programs, and those that do are incredibly competitive. So you cannot depend on scholarships to help you pay for your degree--doing so will likely end in disappointment.
(PhDs are usually free and includes a living stipend, but the application process for PhDs are on a whole other level. I will not cover it here but I can answer any questions related to applying for PhDs.)
Most Masters programs in the US are two-year programs, and the average cost of a Masters degree is around $60,000 per year (source). That's $120,000--almost Php7,000,000--in two years. That is a lot of money. That does not include your cost of living, which depending on the location can vary. I personally spent around $1000 on living expenses every month (housing was through the school, so the cost of that was included in my tuition statement)--and that is living frugally in a very high cost of living city. That's an additional $12,000 per year. Of course, you can lower than number by living with family if that option is available to you.
So on average, you would need around Php4,200,000 per year for your Masters degree. Again, a lot of money. It goes without saying that the student pathway is a very expensive pathway to permanent residency in the US. Can it also be a quicker pathway than, say, being sponsored by a sibling? It can be, but that depends on how long it will take for you to save up for tuition.
What if you can make those numbers work? What else should you know?
I need to put this upfront: the F-1 student visa is a non-immigrant visa. Meaning that it is a visa meant for people who will enter the US on a temporary basis. This is why the student visa has no direct pathway or benefit to permanent residency in the US. You need to change status inside the US to one with immigrant intent or double intent to be able to be on that pathway or receive that benefit. That's where visas like the H-1B visa comes in.
You also cannot work outside of your school on an F-1 visa. During the school year, you are allowed to work part-time on campus, and during the summer you are allowed to work full-time on campus. Work outside of the school is only allowed if it's part of your curriculum (i.e. your program has a class for "onsite internship") and you are allowed to be paid while that opportunity is going on. You can do this part-time, but most legitimate universities will have limited opportunities for this (i.e. under your program you're only allowed to take credit for onsite internships one or two semesters). However, your eligibility to work full-time after getting your degree will be affected if you do this full-time for one year. If you want to jump from F-1 to H-1B, this is not something you want to do.
Your ability to bring dependents to the US on a student visa is also limited. You can only bring your spouse and unmarried children under 21. Dependents of F-1 visa holders are not allowed to work in the US (although children under 21 can go to school full-time). This means your spouse cannot work while in the United States, and that includes working remotely for a company in the Philippines.

APPLYING TO PROGRAMS

The student visa still seems like my best option. What's next?
The next step starts with you. I've received a good number of DMs asking me "Is Master of ABC the right course for me?" or "Will a Master of DEF get me a green card?" These are not the right questions to ask because they're not going to get you any good answers. Yes, we know the ultimate goal for taking your Masters in the US to get permanent residency. But the true purpose of getting a Masters in the US is to make you highly marketable and competitive to US employers that will be willing to sponsor your work visa and petition you for your permanent residency.
So you need to view this degree as a way to level yourself up professionally. I absolutely do not suggest getting a Masters degree in something "you already know"--the objective is not to coast while spending Php4,200,000 a year--but to be so much better at what you're already doing. Here's an example.
Maria Clara graduated from Accounting at a good university in Manila and now has around 2 years of experience as a CPA at the finance and accounting department at a multinational corporation based in Makati. She wants to get her permanent residency to the US via the student pathway and has done a significant amount of research on possible Masters programs and career paths in accounting in the US. She started reading into forensic accounting and realized how interested she is in various aspects of this career path. After looking through universities and programs, she has put SUNY Albany's MS in Forensic Science at the top of her list for a variety of reasons. One, it meets the education requirements for certified public accountant licensure in the state of New York. Two, even without a scholarship of financial aid, the costs for international students is not exorbitant at $23,000/Php1,320,000 for the year-long program--with some frugal living and help from relatives in the US, she can save that amount in 3-4 years. Three, New York is the center of global commerce--all the biggest companies and their accounting firms are either headquartered or have large offices in New York City, so she has a wide swath of employment options. Now she just has to get her ducks in a row and make sure her Bachelors meets the requirements for application, as well as put together a shortlist of other programs she should apply and create a timeline for herself and the milestones that need to be hit to make this dream a reality.
Bottomline is, your starting point in this entire process is reflection and research. You need to reflect on your own professional experience and skills, as well as your interests. You need to figure out which pathway will give you that professional and technical boost and do your research on available programs at reputable universities, what the job market looks like for your target profession, which companies are known to hire in this space.
Of course, you should also take into consideration your limitations. For example, you can only go to school in San Diego because you can stay with relatives while you're studying. That means your research is location-limited to however far you think you can commute.
When this is properly done, it should lead you to a place where you have a shortlist of programs to apply to. Each program will have their own application and testing requirements, as well as their own deadlines, so make sure to keep track of that.
PRO TIP: while grades during college are an important part of your application, many graduate programs put a lot of weight on your personal statement and professional recommendation letters. This is why the first step on reflection is critical--it gives you a good direction from which to build your story, which you will need to convince admissions committees to accept you into their programs.

ACCEPTANCE

I got into one of my top programs and I have my finances in order! What happens now?
Now it's time to apply for your F-1 visa. Your university will provide you with the documentation you need from them (this is mainly the I-20 and your acceptance letter), but the bulk of the documentation you need to present to the visa officer will mostly come from you. Namely, because the F-1 is a non-immigrant visa, you need to show strong ties to the Philippines. This can take a variety of forms, and oftentimes your mileage may vary especially depending on the school you will be attending (i.e. there will be less scrutiny if you're going to Harvard as compared to a university that's not that known).
If you did not receive a scholarship with your acceptance, you also need to show that you are able to afford the first year of matriculation. So bank statements containing the total amount of tuition, as well as room and board, will be important (usually the I-20 that the university will issue you will include this amount).
At the interview, be polite and only answer the questions asked. Do not offer up information not asked by the visa officer. I suggest you have a ready answer if the visa officer asks you why this particular school and program, but you should have this answer already if you followed my advice about reflecting and researching before applying to programs :)
Visa is approved and on hand! What do I do while I wait to leave for the US?
Networking starts the moment you receive your passport with your F-1 visa. You absolutely cannot and should not waste a single minute of your active student visa, so this is the time you start telling people that you're going to be studying in the US. You need to work your current network and find peers and mentors who will be willing to connect you with colleagues they know who work in the US or have ties to the US in your professional field. Let's go back to Maria Clara as an example.
Finally, after years of hard work, Maria Clara has her desired acceptance into SUNY's MS in Forensic Accounting program, and her F-1 visa was approved by the embassy without any issues. After celebrating with her family, she lets her boss know about her visa approval, who has been one of her most ardent cheerleaders during this entire process. Her boss has also offered to introduce her to their counterparts in the US once she got her visa approved, which is really important to Maria Clara--she knows she needs to get ahead of networking professionally since her time in the US is limited. She has also reached out to other people she knows in the company that engage frequently with teams in the US. She's messaged her college professors as well, as she knows that a number of alumni from her college have migrated to the US. Her plan is to get connected with as many professionals in her field as possible, connect with them in person once she's in the US, and build a rapport with as many connections as possible so she can be guided accordingly and stand out when the time to apply for jobs comes.
Remember that unlike US citizens (USC) and legal permanent residents (LPR), your time in the US is limited and bound by the rules set by your visa. So you have to be creative and get ahead in some way. You need to be more prepared and more strategic than USCs and LPRs because you simply do not have the time to dilly dally. Yes, enjoy and savor in the moment of seeing the fruits of your labor, but the hard part begins now. You simply do not have time to waste.

DURING THE PROGRAM

I'm in the US now and working harder than ever! Is there anything more I can do to set myself apart from others?
Other than to make sure you have high grades and you're setting aside time to build professional relationships, it's time to think outside the box. Remember that you are limited by the rules of the F-1 visa, so experiences such as an off-campus summer internship is off limits to you. You will need to find ways to strengthen your resumé that doesn't include working off campus, and that could take many forms. One of the most effective recommendations I've received on this is to do an independent research during the summer--you could do it via a professor whose class you really liked, or if you've made inroads with some of the connections you've been building since getting your visa, have a professor oversee a research project you could do with those connections. (This is still academic work, and many programs will give credit for this, so it is not considered off-campus work under the eyes of USCIS.) You can use your research to really elevate your skills and experiences when applying for jobs.
It's also time to seriously start looking at potential employers. You can use the connections you've built to get a sense of what the professional landscape is for your field, learn about peoples' experiences at various companies and organizations, and get a feel for hiring processes. Remember, you don't have a lot of time to apply for jobs once you near the end of your program, so you have to be armed with the right information to guide your job hunting strategy. You will need to put yourself out there and be the best version of your professional self if you want employers to disregard that they will need to spend more money to hire you rather than a USC or LPR who doesn't need sponsorship.

LAST SEMESTER AND GRADUATION

I'm in my last semester of my program! Any tips?
The last semester is usually job hunting season, so make sure that resumé is polished and your network is activated. By now, if you've done the leg work, you will have a shortlist of potential employers and you will have made connections in most, if not all, of them. Time to check-in and ensure that they know you're interested in joining their company and you'd like their support and guidance in doing so. This is one of the harder parts of this journey, and you have to be relentless. Use all the resources at your disposal to ensure your resumé is seen by as many eyes as possible, and that includes speaking to your professors, especially your favorite ones, so they can also lend a hand.
More importantly: submit your work permit application (more commonly known as OPT) as early as possible to avoid delays and getting stuck in the USCIS backlog. You need this permit to be able to work after graduation for a limited time (one year for graduates of non-STEM programs, with an additional two years for graduates of STEM programs) without needing to immediately require H-1B sponsorship.
Getting employed by a company willing to sponsor you is not the end of the line. All for-profit companies are subject to the H-1B lottery, which means you will be competing with other internationals for the limited number of H-1B visas allotted every year. So even with an employer willing to sponsor, the H-1B visa is still not guaranteed. You can work around this by joining what is a called a cap-exempt organization instead, and USCIS classifies those as institutions of higher education, nonprofit entities related to or affiliated with an institution of higher education, nonprofit research organizations, and governmental research organizations. That means more research, and more targeted strategic networking, given that your employer pool now is limited.

EPILOGUE

The student visa is not an easy or cheap pathway to permanent residency in the US. It is getting harder and harder to beat out USCs and LPRs for great jobs in companies that have the experience and resources to sponsor H-1Bs and GCs. You need to do your research every step of the way and prepare to do some really grueling work in order to be the better investment for these companies. Plus, there is the luck element of the H-1B lottery. But it's not impossible. It can and does happen--my family is a great example of it (we're 3 for 3 in this pathway now). Your preparation and willingness to go the extra mile is critical, and you have to be ready to grind for a while. Rest often only comes when the green card is approved.
For those still considering the student visa pathway to migrate to the US after reading this very long post--good luck, and may the force be with you.

2024.05.29 06:25 kevinwhackistone Some comments about the song XXX

I searched this sub to see if people like this song, and I was happy to see the results. Just wanted to post about it then I’ll be on my way.
I think this could have been his best song, or top 3-5. Kendrick insists, annoyingly imo, that he has to point of his hypocrisy. The second part of the song completely undermines or negates the first part. Not only is it not that good musically, more importantly I wholeheartedly disagree with the point being made. The premise of the song if I’m perceiving it correctly is that Kendrick (or the culture) laments all the murder in America but perpetuates it through a bloodlust for revenge.
I disagree with his saviorism. Do people really project this Jesus shit on to him? That’s kind of his whole thing, to the point of wearing a bejeweled crown of thorns, right? It’s childish to think music or artists can do that much to improve society, and I’ve always thought it immature that either he or his fans indulged this idolatry. Why does he feel like he is above even feeling those feelings in the first half of XXX, disregarding acting on them? “If somebody kills my son, that means somebody’s getting killed.” That’s exactly how I FEEL. I don’t believe it’s best to act on that, but art has the license to say that. I’d want to kill that murderer. Doesn’t mean I will, and that emotion doesn’t need to be called out as wrong in the second half of the song. Wouldn’t it be unnatural for someone to see their loved one murdered and just move on like nothing happened? That’s taking our humanity away. It isn’t godly to allow terrible people run roughshod on regular people. That is the challenge of society. We have to have rules but not be vigilantes or savages about it.
When someone takes the life of a loved one of yours, it is entirely natural to want something to happen to that murderer. Life is chaos and danger, built on constant collisions. If you don’t protect yourself, things may happen. Knowing violence is so ingrained in our nature and in nature at large, expressing that in music shouldn’t be considered such an affront to morality. If nothing were to happen to murderers, there would be even more murder than there already is. Murderers and criminals in general need to experience consequences in order for them to one of reform, be put away forever if they’re too far gone, and serve as a deterrent example for others. This is how society works, and I don’t see many other options as to how things could work.
Maybe make them two songs. First part second part. Because as constituted it’s almost like matter and anti-matter. Cancelling out such a powerful first half to a song does the song such a disservice.
I’m rambling, but I guess what I’m trying to get at is that first half was incredibly accurate as to how some may react to violence. I don’t think it’s ever been conveyed so succinctly and soulfully at the same time. I felt it more than almost anything I’ve heard in music. One part I’d like to highlight to “ain’t no black power when your baby kilt by a coward.” I don’t care what things we may have in common…if you do something crazy you will experience a reaction. I don’t think I’ve heard this said as well in a song too. In fact, if anything since we have some commonality that should make you even more sickened to your stomach that you did such a bad thing to me. Putting it in an American context with black people just lends the concept so much power because there is a sinister aspect of race/religion where people get you to accept what you shouldn’t accept under the guise of brotherhood. Family can hurt you just as much as a stranger, which is why actions should determine kinship. I believe that’s actually reflected in crime stats. People you know are more likely to do you harm as opposed to random acts of violence.
Anyway, tldr I both love and dislike the song.

2024.05.29 06:24 Fold-Plastic (Workflow) How To Get Highest Quality Udio-generated Cover Art

This guide is useful to both Free and Paid Users, especially if you have existing Udio artwork you'd like to improve. I won't be covering the actual image prompting, but let me know if you would be interested in a post on that.
I can't tell you how many saved images I have from the generation process. I'm probably more addicted to the images more than the music if I'm being honest.
But! I've also forgotten to save a bunch too, stuff I really wish I'd thought to keep in my early days of Udio. Oh well! You can save them directly from the browser like any other image you normally would.
Important note: What you see previewed as generations are higher quality images than what get displayed on the Udio page. You lose about 25% of the quality. You can retrieve it, but it's just easier to save it from the beginning.
Open the cover art image as if you were going to change it and open the image in a new tab. You'll get a web link that ends in something like:https://imagedelivery.net/C9yUr1FL21Q6JwfYYh2ozQ/3c88d05d-8f1d-4db9-9cf0-dde2d29b0500/width=256,quality=75
You'll want to change the last bit to:https://imagedelivery.net/C9yUr1FL21Q6JwfYYh2ozQ/3c88d05d-8f1d-4db9-9cf0-dde2d29b0500/width=552,quality=100
552px is the maximum width, anything higher won't do anything. Now you have the image in its original glory.
You can use something like iloveimg.com or upscalepics.com to boost the size and resolution while also smoothing out any graininess. This won't make as big a difference for Udio as you'll see in a sec, but for using your cover art across other platforms it will make an especially big difference because the default resolution of Udio images is so low.
Depending on how much you upscale/touch-up, your file size might be too large to upload back into Udio since the max file size is 5mb. The good news is even with a little downsizing of your image, you'll still keep 90+% of your better image quality.
Important note: When you upload your image, be sure to crop out the old border. There will still be a little bit in the lower-left hand corner, but it will be covered up by the new border.
Compare the previous image to the new one:
https://imagedelivery.net/C9yUr1FL21Q6JwfYYh2ozQ/87dc387b-31f1-41cb-1deb-14b04ba17e00/width=552,quality=100
As you can see, the better sharpness and resolution translates to better looking cover art! Combining this with other image workflows, you can enhance your music cover art by a ton. Here's how mine looks on the song page:
https://www.udio.com/songs/qk58b6jvjxWw5jy1QABKoV (original)
https://www.udio.com/songs/fDLJJKKzwg51Vf1v6bza71 (enhanced)
Hope this helps!

As a reviewer, I recently had the chance to use the SilencerCo AC669 Harvester Big Bore in my daily shooting activities, and let me tell you, it truly did live up to its reputation. The overall quality of the mount is impeccable, with a stylish design and a solid construction. The compatibility with various firearms, including the Omega 300" Hybrid and Harvester 338, is a major plus, as it allows for a seamless integration into my shooting setup.
However, one downside I noticed was that the installation process was a bit more complicated than expected. Despite this minor setback, the SilencerCo AC669 Harvester Big Bore proved to be a reliable and effective accessory for my firearms.

As a gun enthusiast, I always appreciate a good suppressor for my firearms, and the SilencerCo Hybrid 1/2x36 ASR FH 9mm truly stands out. Its compatibility with the ASR mounting system makes it a breeze to install and remove. The patent-pending resonance suppression feature is a game-changer, eliminating that annoying tuning-fork effect that's so common with competing 3-prong flash hiders.
The design of the 3-port muzzle brake effectively reduces that harsh felt recoil and muzzle climb, making my shooting experience more enjoyable. However, I've noticed that the price point may be a bit higher than some other suppressors on the market, which could be a downside for some. My overall experience with the SilencerCo Hybrid 1/2x36 ASR FH 9mm has been positive, and I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for an effective, easy-to-use suppressor.

As a seasoned shooter, I recently had the chance to try out the Threaded Silencer by LEGRIS. This bad boy was a game-changer for my 22Lr firearm. The first thing I noticed was the impressive quality of the silencer; it felt sturdy and well-built.

One of the standout features of the Threaded Silencer was its versatility. It could withstand temperatures ranging from -4°F to a scorching 300°F. This made it a reliable option for various shooting environments and conditions. Its ability to handle such a wide temperature range set it apart from other silencers I've used in the past.
However, the Threaded Silencer did come with a slight drawback. While it was easy to attach, removing it proved to be a bit of a challenge. It took a bit of force and some patience to unscrew it, which could be a minor inconvenience for some users.

As an avid hunter, I've grown accustomed to the loud noise that often accompanies each shot when using a suppressor. It can be a nuisance, especially when I'm trying to maintain stealth during my hunting expeditions. That's when I stumbled upon the Saunders Vudu-X String Stop Black 3/8 in. Daimeter 8 in. Rod.
This innovative suppressor caught my attention with its patented, high-performance compound bow string silencer that replaces my carbon rod dampener. The moment I installed it, I noticed a significant difference in the level of noise it produced. Gone were the resonant strikes and replaced with a much quieter experience.
What sets the Vudu-X apart is its ability to trap the string in a recoil chamber, effectively silencing every single shot. It also absorbed limb shock, making my overall shooting experience smoother and more comfortable.
However, it wasn't all good news. The Vudu-X sometimes felt a bit bulky, making it slightly harder to maneuver compared to my previous suppressor. Nevertheless, the benefits greatly outweighed the minor inconvenience.
Overall, I'm happy with the Saunders Vudu-X String Stop Black 3/8 in. Daimeter 8 in. Rod as my suppressor of choice. Its ability to significantly reduce noise and absorb limb shock makes it a worthwhile investment for any hunter seeking a more discreet and comfortable shooting experience.

What is a 22Lr suppressor?

A 22LR suppressor is a device that is designed to reduce the noise created by a 22LR (. 22 Long Rifle) rifle when the trigger is pulled. This device, also known as a silencer, helps to make shooting more enjoyable in noise-sensitive environments and ensures that others nearby are not bothered by the sound.

What are the benefits of using a 22Lr suppressor?

https://preview.redd.it/t4cvicghla3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4486a1c5cd452988fd00006daa65205a3fda6eab
  • Improved shooting experience: A suppressor significantly reduces the noise generated during firing, making the experience more pleasant and enjoyable for both the shooter and others nearby.
  • Safety: Reduced noise can help protect your hearing over time, especially if you shoot frequently.
  • Less disturbance: Suppressors help to reduce noise pollution, minimizing interference with wildlife and other nearby people or activities.

How does a 22Lr suppressor work?

A 22LR suppressor works by using a series of baffles to slow down and dissipate the high-speed gas generated by the firing of a 22LR bullet. This gas, in turn, cools down and reduces the noise created during firing. The suppressor's internal components are typically made from materials that are heat-resistant and can withstand the high temperatures and pressures generated by the firing process.

In the United States, ownership of suppressors is permitted under the National Firearms Act, provided that the owner holds a valid Federal Firearms License and has completed the necessary background checks and paperwork. It is recommended to consult with local authorities or experts for the most accurate information regarding your specific situation.

How do I choose the right 22Lr suppressor for my needs?

  • Consider the type of shooting you plan to do: Different suppressors are designed for specific applications, such as hunting or target shooting. Be sure to choose one that is suitable for your intended use.
  • Research materials and construction: High-quality materials and construction will ensure a durable and effective suppressor that can withstand a variety of shooting conditions.
  • Check for user reviews and ratings: Reading reviews from other users can help you understand the pros and cons of different models and make an informed decision.
  • Consult with experts: Seek advice from knowledgeable individuals, such as gun store owners or experienced shooters, to help you find the best suppressor for your needs.

2024.05.29 06:20 Easy-Recognition1436 Seeking better ways to cope with random mood swings

I would like to start by saying that I am in a new relationship that has been going on for 4 months. I’m determined to not ruin it and have a healthy stable serious relationship this time that may lead to marriage one day.
Just now, I was chilling at his house and suddenly my mood switched and I felt really down. I’m not really that in touch with my emotions and have a hard time describing what I’m feeling. I just kinda was staring into space and was just not in a good mood. Nothing particularly was bothering me. But after a while, tears started to roll down my face. Like emotionless tears if that makes sense. Not regular sadness. My response? I went to the kitchen. I ran the water and washed some dishes.. as a distraction (I don’t want him to think I have a drinking problem) while I grabbed some Hennessy and mixed it with cranberry juice. Upon doing this, I realized this is my normal response when I’m in this mood. I don’t drink large amounts and get super drunk. But I do take a couple of shots. I wonder if anyone else gets into these random moods with seemingly no trigger, and how you deal with them. Do you have any healthy solutions? I’m not in therapy anymore because I didn’t benefit from it because I wasn’t honest with my therapist, but I plan to get back into it and do it better for the sake of this relationship. Thank you in advanced.

AUS Mount from Reptilia, for 30mm diameter magnified optics, is a beautifully crafted piece of machinery. This product is the result of a 2-year development program and it truly shows in its design and functionality. The finish, an Anodized Flat Dark Earth, gives it a sleek look that blends well with various M1913 Picatinny rails it can be attached to.
This AUS Mount stands out due to the custom bolt mounting system with an anti-snag, spring-loaded, nitrided steel clamp. The clamp can be tightened using either a 5/32 hex or a flat blade driver for a low-profile, streamline design. The single piece of billet 7075-T6 aluminum, which it is made from, is further enhanced with the MIL-STD Type III Class 2 hard anodize coating.

One of the things that impressed me most during my first installation was how easy it was to fit on my autopilot. The 30mm cantilever hole was perfect, and with a simple cut and a few twists, the socket was securely in place. I also appreciated the sturdy design, which gave me the confidence that my autopilot would hold up during even the roughest sea conditions.
However, there were a few minor drawbacks as well. After my first use, I had a bit of trouble with the mounting system. Even though the included epoxy was effective in securing the cap, I faced some difficulty getting rid of captured air. Eventually, I found a workaround that involved leaving some of the glue-free while inserting the cap, but I wouldn't say it was ideal.
Overall, I'm satisfied with my purchase of the Raymarine Cantilever Mounting Socket. It's a well-engineered product that delivers a rock-solid performance, and while it's priced a bit higher than some alternatives, it's worth it for the peace of mind it provides.

Of course, no product is without its drawbacks. For me, the one downside was the color, which was a bit loud for my taste. However, this is a minor detail that didn't affect the functionality or durability of the rack.

I recently had the chance to use the Shimano Altus CT91 Rear Cantilever Brake with Link Wire during a grueling mountain bike ride. After struggling with my previous brakes, these new ones made a world of difference. The adjustable brake toe and spring tension provided me with peace of mind when braking, especially during those high-speed descents.
One of the things that stood out to me was the straddle wire inclusion. I found myself adjusting it frequently during my ride, which allowed me to fine-tune the brake tension to my liking. The Shimano Reference Number, BR-CT91, also showed me that this was a quality product that would last.
Despite the overall positive experience, I did face a few minor issues. The installation process was a bit longer than I would've liked, and the straddle wire needed some fine-tuning to prevent any unwanted noises or vibrations. However, these issues were easily overcome, and the product's sturdiness and stopping power truly shone through.
In conclusion, the Shimano Altus CT91 Rear Cantilever Brake with Link Wire proved to be an excellent choice for my mountain bike. Its adjustability, durability, and ease of installation made it a win for me, despite those minor hiccups during setup.
