🔗Royal 100Cx Portable Battery/AC Powered Cash Register

https://preview.redd.it/xu1iqymqfd1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9b7af0deef7439648e38f01af1298d2dab2384cf
As a small business owner, I've been on the hunt for a reliable, portable cash register to make sales easier at my farmer's market stand. The Royal 100Cx, with its compact design and battery-powered operation, has been a reliable companion for me. The automatic tax computation feature is a game-changer, allowing me to easily manage sales and taxes on-the-go. However, the initial setup can be a bit daunting, and the manual doesn't do a fantastic job of explaining everything.
The preset department pricing and sales analysis by category of merchandise are standout features that have helped me keep track of inventory and sales trends. It's crucial for businesses like mine, where inventory and sales fluctuate frequently. The ink roll printer provides a receipt printout, providing a professional touch to every transaction.
In terms of drawbacks, one thing to note is that the tax computation is limited to only four rates – VAT, Canadian, and a couple of others – which may not cater to everyone's business needs. However, for my small farm market business, it's more than sufficient.
Overall, the Royal 100Cx is a dependable piece of hardware, and it's been a significant asset in streamlining my sales process. It may have a slightly steep learning curve, but once mastered, it's a powerful tool for any small business seeking a portable, autonomous cash register solution.

🔗Casio SE-S800 1-Sheet Thermal Cash Register, 3000 PLUs, 20 Department Keys, 10-Line LCD Operator Display

https://preview.redd.it/brge474rfd1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4f0a868bdeebde4c9fa4dace5dded07ca7a38ad7
The Casio SE-S800 Cash Register is like your best buddy in the world of retail transactions. It's sleek, easy to use, and man, does it make life simpler! Imagine scanning items effortlessly and having that 10-line LCD display help you verify transactions—no more slip-ups! Plus, it comes with a two-line pop-up rear display for customers to see the price and subtotal, which is perfect for keeping them in the loop about their purchases.
But don't let its good looks fool you! It might not be the easiest thing to program, especially if you're not a tech person. You might find yourself on the phone with customer service more than you'd like. And, oh boy, they just love decimals! But once you get the hang of it, it's smooth sailing.
One more thing, make sure you get the right paper, because it doesn't play well with just any thermal paper. But overall, if you need a reliable way to manage your sales and keep your customers happy, the SE-S800 is a solid choice.

🔗Casio SR-S820-BK Thermal Print Cash Register

https://preview.redd.it/n5ozmt8rfd1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=db3103fb2c53dbe851f1f963fc7b1f5683b8af96
I recently got the chance to use the Casio SR-S820-BK Thermal Print Cash Register in my small café, and I must say it's been quite a ride. The thermal printer is a game-changer for us, as it allows us to generate receipts and track our sales activity with ease. The 25 standard department keys have been incredibly helpful in categorizing our various products, and the 10-line LCD display makes it super easy to check on customer transactions.
One of the things that stand out about this cash register is its ability to be mobile. As a café owner, I love that I can move it around to different areas of my store, depending on my needs. The built-in receipt printer also helps us provide a more professional service to our customers.
However, there are a few drawbacks that I've noticed during my time using this cash register. For starters, the software that comes with it could use a bit more functionality. Additionally, some users have reported having issues with the blue tooth connectivity, which can be quite frustrating.
Overall, I'm pretty happy with the Casio SR-S820-BK Thermal Print Cash Register. It has definitely made my life a lot easier when it comes to managing transactions and keeping track of sales. If you're in the market for a new cash register, this one is definitely worth considering.

🔗Casio SEG1SC Thermal Print Cash Register, Pink

https://preview.redd.it/712sb1krfd1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=815375953b151b8f3790b757c2a63de19d6ee756
I recently purchased the Casio SEG1SC Thermal Print Cash Register in a striking pink color. It's perfect for my small boutique and fits our vibrant theme perfectly. I was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to set up and get running. The large LCD display is incredibly clear, making it straightforward to input prices and manage product sales.
One of my favorite features is the quiet thermal printer. It doesn't disrupt the ambiance of my store like our old, noisy register did. Plus, the anti-bacterial keyboard is a great added touch for hygiene.
However, I did find that the plastic casing feels a bit flimsy compared to more substantial cash registers. And while the instructions were mostly comprehensive, I did have to resort to YouTube tutorials for some aspects of programming.
Overall, I'm very satisfied with my purchase. The Casio SEG1SC Cash Register not only looks great in my store but also helps streamline our billing process. I would highly recommend it to anyone in need of a reliable, affordable cash register.

🔗Casio PCR-T2300 Electronic Cash Register

https://preview.redd.it/btnrin2sfd1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b13df31948ea6fefe3b253416e7c129de665ba92
I recently got my hands on the Casio PCR-T2300 Electronic Cash Register and let me tell you, it's been a game-changer for my business. With its 10-line LCD display, it's incredibly easy for me to check the current transaction and eliminate errors. The raised keyboard with 30 department key locations makes inputting data a breeze. Plus, with the built-in pop-up customer display, I can ensure my customers always know exactly what they're paying for.
One of my favorite features of this cash register is the ability to customize receipts with a graphic logo or programmable top and bottom messages, adding a personal touch to each transaction. The heavy-duty metal cash drawer provides more than enough space for five bill compartments and five coin compartments, making it perfect for a busy retail environment.
However, there are a few drawbacks that I've noticed during my time using this product. The instructions provided for programming the cash register could be more clear, leaving some users (like myself) scratching their heads at certain points. Additionally, while the register performs well overall, I have found that there can be some issues with the tape feeding, which can be frustrating at times.
All in all, the Casio PCR-T2300 Electronic Cash Register has proven to be a reliable and efficient addition to my business operations. With its user-friendly design and robust feature set, it's definitely worth considering for any small retailer or grocer looking to streamline their cash-handling processes.

🔗Casio PCR-T2300 Thermal Cash Register with 10-Line LCD & Dual-Tape Receipt

https://preview.redd.it/154iy99sfd1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=624e9df45ee9940f5d17ef69a3d158a4c110e6a6
I've been using the Casio PCR-T2300 Thermal Printer Cash Register in my small retail store for the past month, and I must say, it's made a significant difference in my day-to-day operations. The dual-tape thermal system ensures quick and error-free transactions while the 10-line LCD display keeps both me and the customer informed about the ongoing purchase.
One of the standout features of this cash register is its flexibility. The 30 department keys can be preset with specific prices or left open for manual entry, allowing me to adapt to the ever-changing needs of my store. Additionally, with up to 7,000 PLUs available, tracking individual item sales has never been easier.
Customization is another strong suit of this cash register. I can add a graphic logo to our receipts, program top and bottom messages, and even adjust each item's description for detailed reporting. Plus, the heavy-duty metal cash drawer provides ample space for organizing bills and coins, making it easier to manage my funds.
However, the instruction manual left something to be desired. Some steps were not as clear as I would have liked, requiring me to seek help on YouTube for more advanced programming functions. Nonetheless, overall, the Casio PCR-T2300 has been a reliable and efficient addition to my store, helping streamline my operations and improve customer experience.

2024.05.19 12:33 afilthyredditor Xperia 1 VI Initial Impressions

I had the chance to try out the 1 VI yesterday. I am in the market for a new phone and was looking at the S24 Ultra and Pixel 8 Pro. Of the two, I liked the Pixel 8 Pro: despite some reviews saying it's video taking capabilities were good but not as good as its competitors, it's size and stock android experience were more preferable than the S24 Ultra. Anyway, this is about the 1 VI.
Build Quality
It's a crossover from 1 V, though the 1 V is closer to the 1 IV when held in hand. The main factor is the screen. It feels light but grippy thanks to its case design.
Screen
Gotta be honest here. If I had more time with it, I probably could make out more differences with my 1 IV or the demo 1 V. The shop might not be the best place with its interior lighting. But I honestly thought the 1 VI had the better screen, didn't really notice any pixelation effect. One thing I did not like with the 1 IV was its screen was too dim. I often had to do scrutinize my photos and videos for insufficient lighting and exposure because of the screen dimness. I really appreciate the increase in brightness. Despite that, there doesn't seem to be any noticeable deficiency of viewing experience from a 4k to a 1080p resolution. The 1 VI sharpness and vividness were somewhat better, might be due to the increase in brightness.
With regards to playback of 4k recorded videos, I did not notice any deficiency as well. I saw some claims of 4k video playback taking a hit with the new display but the experience was not too dissimilar from the 1 IV and 1 V. So to test this, I streamed some 4k videos from youtube and recorded some 4k videos as well. My fears weren't really confirmed. But I have to say one thing I really doubted from the many reviewers commenting that the downgrade was nothing to worry about, I wouldn't say I was blown away by the quality. Perhaps the 1 IV has spoiled me to the point of not really being blown away by any other phone display, the S24 Ultra's and Pixel's screens included.
Performance
I didn't really notice any throttling while using it. Most of the time I was snapping pics and recording videos. My biggest concern with the 1 IV was the overheating. The 1 VI didn't seem to overheat. It was quite snappy.
Cameras
Gotta be honest here as well. In terms of quality, I couldn't really notice any glaring improvements. Seemed like more of the same with the 1 IV, with some additional toys to play with. Granted, I'm not the type to scrutinize photos like I'm playing "spot the difference" games. So my expectations of taking good photos are still met.
My experience with the new app though was not that good, though I could say the same thing when learning the Xperia's camera suite. With the amount of manual configurations, the old camera suite encouraged fiddling and experimentation. But since there were 3, each had a purpose different from each other. Imagine collapsing all of those things into one app. My initial impressions are mixed. While I do appreciate one app, the execution could have been done better. With the S24U and P8P pro modes, they were able to present a clean and uncluttered interface by presenting users with the basic functions and tucking away the pro features in advanced menus. With the camera app, it was like using the Office Ribbon/toolbar. You could easily fill up the screen with sub-menus with a few clicks. I saw a post here comparing the interface with pixel's camera app, they weren't really mistaken. While the old camera suite was overwhelming at first, I grew to appreciate, embrace and enjoy them over time. I hope the experience would be the same with this unified app.
The thing that stopped me from buying the 1 VI over the P8P was the fingerprint scanner. Mine is currently broken due to the recent update. I can only reuse the fingerprint scanner after powering off the phone for 10 minutes with the case off to let it cool down. Even with this, it's not guaranteed to work all the time. And it's quite annoying to do. This really interferes with utilizing the phone, especially doing banking. But I ended up pulling the trigger on the 1 VI since it seemed like I was still getting an upgrade despite many people's misgivings on the downgraded screen and the price. To me, I understand both camps. The display is a major part of phones. It superseded tactile keyboards as our way of interaction. A 4k display is a premium feature. Getting something less as part of an integral feature affects the perception of the phone's "premiumness", it's quality. While Sony did make major changes and improvements in other areas, it rightly attracted negative feedback due to the resolution change. But then, that's the thing. The 1 VI isn't only just a display, it's also many things as well. It's a battery that's able to power a good display, multiple cameras and the best chip on the current market. It's an SD card slot that can store your pictures, videos and files. It's a headphone jack which allows you to use headsets and IEMs. It's many things constituting to one device. While the price is quite high, it's not absurdly high from my perspective.
Notes
One thing I really don't like with my 1 IV is the read and write speeds to the SD card. You can slap on the best in class SD card inside but it's throttled. I learned this the hard way. Hopefully, but I'm not counting on it, they improved upon this and increase or just leave this be. Just let the read/write speeds be as quick as they're supposed to be. I understand the decision a bit since transferring files to the SD card warms up the phone. I don't know if it's a Xperia design issue or a limitation on phones themselves but really looking forward in improvements here.
Another thing I wanted to comment on is the Video Pro mode. It's quite a disappointment that it's not yet available, would have loved to try it out. It could be a dealbreaker, and they might have changed some features upon release. It's a shame it's not out for reviewers to try out and give their feedback.

2024.05.18 11:21 Hour_Training_832 8F + Coincase = Shiny Mew and Shiny Celebi - First Time Using a Pokemon Glitch outside Missingno!

What’s up everyone!
I’ve recently been spending a lot of time in the older games since once Pokemon bank shuts down, there will be a ton of legendary and mythical Pokemon that are locked behind the paywall of Pokemon Go…
I saw a YouTuber named Trails Pokemon and they inspired me to set out on a journey to try and catch all the Shiny Mythical and legendary Pokémon in the older games, so I could have unique ribbons and markings on them! I really wanted to do all of this in hardware though so I decided to see what I could do to try and get my favorite mythical Mew, and Celebi shiny before they become incredibly hard to get if Game freak doesn't port these games to VC on the Switch / Switch 2 which I feel like if they were going to do they'd of done already.
https://preview.redd.it/slwixku8l51d1.png?width=2560&format=png&auto=webp&s=6581f56691739e071b6e5a055a8eea1065854194
The Set Up - Video Version https://youtu.be/CmawneiP9L8?si=HVBLQnLEOssLTUlC
I figured I’d start with the first two generations, Pokémon Red and Blue to get a shiny Mew, and Pokemon Gold and Silver to get a shiny Celebi. Both of these are awesome shinies, and I missed out on the Pokemon Go Masterwork research for them… so this was my only chance to get them. I was going to be working on doing the 8F Glitch, and the Coin case glitch to get them. I am pretty familiar with the Missingno glitch in gen 1 but that’s about the only glitch I’ve ever done until attempting this.
Thankfully I had already beat Pokemon Blue in a Hardcore Nuzlocke I had done earlier in the year. So I booted up my copy of Blue, and went to catch all of the legendary Pokémon, because if I’m making a transferable, good enough for Austin John Shiny Mew, I might as well make everything shiny right?
Once I caught the legendary birds, Mewtwo, and finally Mew, I then had to to some prep work:
Now I set up my party
  1. Mew
  2. Pidgey with 233 hp
  3. Parasect
  4. Onix
  5. Tentacool
  6. Arbok
Now it’s time to obtain my items I need for the 8F glitch, this uses Missingno, if you don’t know how to do the Missingno Glitch there are lots of videos. But briefly, if you speak to the catch tutorial man in viridian city, watch him catch Weedle, fly to cinnabar island and surf along the coastline you will encounter a Missingno among other Pokemon. M and Missingno are the two new needs. Whenever you encounter them they increase the item value by 128, so if you have 1 it would make it 1+128 or 129 in your inventory.
Items for 8F Glitch
Now I needed to obtain a lot of items to get ready and prepped once we obtained 8F. Most of the items here can be purchased from Celadon city mart, PP UP can be obtained in celadon city in a block right outside of the city near the fake Pokemon center.
  1. 8F (we will obtain it later)
  2. Any item x89 (Missingno glitch, sell 40)
  3. Dire Hit x58 (Missingno glitch, sell 71)
  4. Iron x37 (Missingno glitch, sell 92)
  5. X Accuracy x119 (1 + Missingno glitch, sell 10)
  6. Water Stone x62 (Missingno glitch, sell 67)
  7. Burn Heal x50 (Missingno glitch, sell 79)
  8. Pokeball x43 (Missingno glitch, sell 86)
  9. Antidote x43 (Missingno glitch, sell 86)
  10. Protein x62 (Missingno glitch, sell 67)
  11. PP Up x60 (Missingno glitch, sell 69 (nice))
  12. Ice Heal x50 (Missingno glitch, sell 79)
  13. Lemonade x133 (5 + Missingno glitch)
  14. Great Ball x50 (Missingno glitch, sell 79)
  15. Fresh Water x34 (Missingno glitch, sell 95)
  16. TM01 any #
Once I have obtained all of these items, place them in your Pc. I make sure to clean my pc out of redundant items, because we need to make sure there is still room for one more item later to complete this. Now I put all of these items into my pc, along with my Masterball to keep it all safe.
Now I go buy an X special, and make sure I have 7 items in my inventory making sure to have a Masterball in slot 7. And my x accuracy in slot 6.
  1. Any item
  2. Any item
  3. Any item
  4. Any item
  5. Any item
  6. X special
  7. Masterball
Making sure I have a Pokémon with fly and surf in my party. Perform the Missingno glitch, once I encounter Missingno use X Special twice, use the Masterball to catch Missingno, and you should now have 255 X Special in your inventory.
With this part complete, now I move my X special to slot 3 in my inventory, and toss my first two items, this duplicates my X special. Now I start tossing stacks of X Special until there is only two scrollable spots in my inventory. Then I toss 253 specials which does some crazy things with my inventory, then swap item one with item 2 in my box, then swap them back. Now I had activated item under flow which is what I need to be able to obtain 8F.
Now I fly to Celadon city and go to the right, 1 step before the route changes. Now I toss my entire stack of X specials in slot 1, press select and pick the x special left, and scroll down into the item under flow until I find a nugget. The. I press select there to swap the nugget for the x special.
Now I walk 5 steps right, 5 steps down, and 20 steps to the right, press select on the first item, and scroll down into the item under flow, until I find 8F, press select and swap them. (This part is super sketchy. I was so worried I was going to crash my game and lose my save file here but we freaking did it!)
Now not touching anything in the menu and NOT using 8F I fly back to Cinnabar island, and deposit 8F into the pc, making sure to ONLY deposit 8F. Close the pc save, and reset my game. Now I have the 8F item! Huzzah!!
This is the first step but it felt so good to get this, it looks like the game is breaking while you’re doing this because it pretty much is lol, but if you follow the steps it works easily.
Now I deposit my x special and withdraw all of the items we set up earlier.
  1. 8F
  2. Any item x89
  3. Dire Hit x58
  4. Iron x37
  5. X Accuracy x119
  6. Water Stone x62
  7. Burn Heal x50
  8. Pokeball x43
  9. Antidote x43
  10. Protein x62
  11. PP Up x60
  12. Ice Heal x50
  13. Lemonade x133
  14. Great Ball x50
  15. Fresh Water x34
  16. TM01 any #
And setup my Pokémon I had prepared earlier:
  1. Mew
  2. Pidgey with 233 hp
  3. Parasect
  4. Onix
  5. Tentacool
  6. Arbok
Now with my party set up, and my items in the appropriate order (I checked like 12 times lol) I made my Mew from GF with the OT ID 22796. But this was only part one, now I needed to make it Shiny!
To set this up I needed to change everything around. I deposit my Mew into my pc into box slot one, moving all of my other Pokemon from the box mew is in into box 2 so I only had Mew in my Box 1.
I then go to the safari zone and catch a Kangaskhan.
With Kangaskhan on my team it now looks like this
  1. Pidgey with 233 current hp
  2. Parasect
  3. Onix
  4. Tentacool
  5. Kangaskan
With my party of avengers Pokemon assembled, now I needed to get my bag set up. This includes changing up lots of items. So I deposit unneeded items into my pc
Bag:
  1. Any item (any #)
  2. 8F
  3. Lemonade x170 (42 + Missingno)
  4. X Accuracy x178/177* (50 + Missingno)
  5. Carbos x218 (90 + Missingno)
  6. Pokeball x119
  7. Fresh Water x201 (73 + Missingno)
Now with everything set up, I go to my PC, double checking all of my items and my Pokémon team is correct. Then use 8F with 178 X Accuracy, drop 1 X Accuracy, and then use 8F again with 177 X Accuracy again. Now I check my Mew and all its stats have changed. And my HP stat goes beyond the hp bar but I fix this issue by going to nurse Joy and healing my Pokémon in the Pokémon center.
With this power in my hands, I then made my Articuno, Moltres, Zapdos, and Mewtwo Shiny. I also decided to make my Blastoise Johnathan shiny as well, which was my ace in my Nuzlocke run that died in the very last battle against Gary. I felt like it had earned its spot as a shiny that I could transfer to generation 9’s Scarlet and Violet.
Phewwwwwwwwwe generation 1 done… Now I need to do generation 2.. so I start out on a fresh copy of Pokemon silver and pick my boy Totodile (it's my fave starter so I of course have to pick it) name him Lyle and then proceed through the rest of the game to beat the Elite 4. During my journey from Littleroot town, I had a couple goals in this game.
  1. I need to get Shiny Celebi, and the 1/8192 encounter rate wasn’t the ticket, with an unknown end date to bank I needed to get it much sooner.
  2. Catch all of the legendary beasts shiny
  3. Get the legendary duo Ho-Oh and Lugia Shiny
  4. Make Lyle the Feraligatr shiny
Getting the Coin Case Glitch
Now I have actually never done any glitches in Pokemon Silver or gold ever so this will be my first attempt… I wipe the floor with Lance and my super OP Feraligatr. Then start setting up to get everything I need.
The first thing I snag is the namesake, the coin case. I go down into the underground in Goldenrod city and find the Coin Case that will allow us to actually perform this glitch. With Coin Case in hand, I head off to get TM27 Return from the Market top floor, this TM can only be gotten on Sunday though and if you have high friendship with the lead Pokemon, it's possible to change your date and time and it was a Thursday when I started to initiate this, so I changed my in game time and day so you don’t have to wait (https://legendarypkmn.net/pass/) Then I went off to Then off to Ilex forest to get TM02 Headbutt.
With this done, it’s now time to set up my avengers team, so I catch a Wooper, and Evolve it into Quagsire. I teach it Surf so it knows 4 moves, then teach it TM 27 Return as its first move. Once complete I hand it TM02 headbutt to hold (Do not teach it Headbutt it should be a held item). Catch a flying Pokemon, which I ended up snagging one of my favorite regional birds HootHoot. And finally a slide pokemon. So I learned that a slide Pokemon is one with Low DV’s, low friendship and is low level. Through doing this glitch three times, the best Pokemon I found was catching a Bellsprout outside of Violet city, then trade it to someone in the city for an Onix named Rocky, this Onix works every time you run this glitch (for me it has anyways) and makes this harder part of doing the glitch easy.
Now it was time to get my change pokemon so I caught 6 pokemon on Victory road to use as my pokemon I’ll be changing. Multiple Golbats, Donphan etc.
Once complete this is what my party looks like
  1. Pokemon we are changing
  2. Flying Pokemon
  3. My Slide Pokemon in my case Rocky the Onix
  4. Quagsire with Return as its first move, and holding TM02 Headbutt
Using this guide on Bulbapedia I select the box layout that I need to have set up to run these codes to get my desired outcome. I figured I’d try with Celebi first. https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Coin_Case_glitches
I change my box to match for Celebi, fly to cherry Grove city and enter the Mart. Save the game, walk out of the mart taking 4 steps to the right, opening my pokedex on Bellsprout to hear its cry, then use the coin case after switching pockets in my inventory. It glitches out my game, but after I save it the issue is fixed.
Now my Pokemon in Slot 1 is extremely broken. If I encounter anything it looks like a Celebi, but on the menu it still looks like a Golbat.
With my broken Golbat I head over to the Daycare in Goldenrod and deposit my Pokemon, here you either pay a ton of money to get your Pokemon out, or 100 pokedollars. I found if you take one step down, then walk straight out, turn right back around and enter, he only charges you 100 Poke dollars, it worked several times when I did this so hopefully if you do this it does for you as well. Once I get my Golbat back it is now a Celebi! But its not legal to transfer to home… yet anyways.
I head to Blackthorn to delete all of my Celebi’s moves that it doesn’t know legitimately, and use TMs to teach it moves it does, if you didn’t nickname your Pokemon is actual name too I would use the name rater to change the name to whatever Pokemon you changed it too.
I then proceeded to do this Glitch multiple times to obtain:
Entei
Suicune
Raikou
Ho-Oh
Lugia
Celebi (Tink)
With all of the Pokemon I was looking for obtained now it was time to turn them shiny! So I use the Bulbapedia guide again change my box names to match those of changing the shiny pokemon, https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Coin\_Case\_glitches. And keep my part composition the same.
  1. Pokemon we are changing
  2. Flying Pokemon
  3. My Slide Pokemon in my case Rocky the Onix
  4. Quagsire with Return as its first move, and holding TM02 Headbutt
Then run the coin case glitch again doing the same as above, this changes the Pokemon in slot 1 to its shiny variant! I do this multiple times, for all 6 legendaries, then to Feraligatr, and Nidoking as well. I love Nidoking shiny, it looks so freaking cool imo.
Now the last thing I needed to do was to get the Pokemon to the correct levels as a lot of these Pokemon are under the level cap that will flag as a legitimate Pokemon… so I run about 8 hrs of Elite 4 runs, and eventually get the Pokemon to the required level they need to be.
Celebi - Lvl 30
Entei - Lvl 40
Suicune - Lvl 40
Raikou - Lvl 40
Lugia - Lvl 40
Ho-Oh - Lvl 40
The fastest way to do this if I had to to do it over again, would be to change Pokemon I caught in Mount Silver, vs Pokemon on Victory Road, as Pokemon in Mt Silver are over 40, so all you would have to do is change the Pokemon itself, delete its moves, and then it would be ready to go.
Lyle the Feraligatr will live forever with me now in the current games, and so will all of these awesome legendary Pokemon.
With all of this work done, It was finally time to transfer these pokemon up to Generation 9, this was pretty time consuming. It took about 70-75 hrs to beat both games and perform the glitches / learn what I needed to do. But it was super rewarding to get them into Pokemon scarlet and Violet. The Coin case glitch is leagues easier than the 8F glitch as you can see, and way less stressful. I wasn’t worried about my game blowing up to smithereens lol. Especially with this being the first time I had ever manipulated a Pokemon game to get more out of it then just extra rare candies to level up my Pokemon
As far as the future holds, Gen 3 and Gen 4 have some opportunities as well so I will be looking at those games next! Cannot wait to get going on them!

Dire help, how do I reinforce thin plastic.
(God I hate small parts)
This is part of a “ribbon” that connects to the Blazblue Vertex Noel Wonder Exclusive Model. You’re supposed to (forcefully) insert these into a coat slot but it’s so thin you’d be lucky not to bend it. Mine of course, snapped, and don’t really know how to fix it. It’s too thin for super glue as light force will bend it out of shape again. So here I am hoping someone has an idea to reinforce it.

2024.05.18 02:47 LifaFreeze 2-Year Update

2-Year Update
Hey y'all! I hit my 2 year mark and felt like sharing my progress, I spent the first year or so of this game very casually doing labs in no particular order or focus (see Health randomly at lvl66) and it was right around August last year I started to play it with actual focus. It also wasn't until that point I purchased the ad pack which is something I am still kicking myself for, a year of watching ads was not worth the $10. UW order: PS>DW>CF>SM>GT>SL
I finished maxing cards/slots about 1 month before the module update where I was able to rush 2! CF duration labs before all the gems started going into Modules.
I was a plat/champion sandbagger up until about a month ago when I "mostly" finished my CF, and at that point I decided to full send and try champion where I've been able to consistently hit top 11 for the last month so its been worth the experiment (this last tournament bracket can suck my left nut, top 13 people had over 1.3k waves to my 1050ish)
Current Goals: Workshop: I "just" got my Workshop to a place i'm content with based on my coin income, 5200 across Dmg/Health/Regen. 160 in both ELAS and ELHS. Biggest outliers are SCC and SCM. I somehow didn't unlock Super Crit until I realized I was saving up the 3 days for Rend armor, so those are very underdeveloped. I would like to dump a little more into Max Recovery to make it easier to max for tourneys. Wall health Upgrades are being saved for the next Event Mission Once I get my Economy squared away with BH I'll be investing a lot more into the Enhancements.
Stones:
  1. Don't ask how I don't have BH after 2 years, yes I do want to cry - but I should be just under a month away to fixing my econ to "actually" be able to afford these couple bil (and tril) labs and beyond. I'm glad I upgraded the spotlight because I was able to enjoy GC shenanigan's for a couple months but the recent updates really highlighted my poor income.
  2. After I sink some stones into BH, I want to beef up my DW just a little more, I can only hit about 2x health in champion. 2.5. Spotlight Bonus
Labs: Finish Lab speed now that Cells exist (I stalled it at 65 previously) Finish ATK SPD (It stalled around mid 70's until a couple months ago) Build up some of my EHP labs (Health Regen was at lvl 24 about 2 weeks ago) Work on some quicker Wall labs (Wall health and Regen I only started doing in the last 3 days)
Labs I should be doing instead: I have invested nothing into any enemy health/speed decreases, mostly due to economy issues in the past, now its just something I haven't started. Finish my Module labs, I just got burnt out of spamming them. Dmg/CF/SCC/SCM are all on my to-do list, just don't necessarily feel its what my tower needs right now.
Gems: I'm 1 Wormhole away from Ancestral but insanely far away from any useful Ancestral UW. Given my current UW situation though i'll likely finish the last 2 card slots before pushing Ancestral UW module. I got extremely lucky that my first Ancestrals were Death Penalty and Galaxy Compressor, I sunk 500k reroll shards and i'm okay with their stats, until I can get Ancestral Health and UW mods. Get SCM on my Death Penalty to replace Epic Multi shot targets Ancestral Package chance and Coin bonus on Galaxy compressor (currently have mythic package and legendary utility upgrade)

Small Regrets I've had: I wish I used my event ribbons better, I've spent a LOT of ribbons getting gems for some modules, as well as cards or when a lab was close to being rushed. Usually about 105 event. Not running the labs while I wasn't playing the game. Dear god: if you're new and you see this and you think you'll play the game for more than a month, just buy the ad pack. Seriously. Buying the Second DW wave before getting BH.
I just wanted to share my 2 year benchmark and if you made it this far thank you! I enjoy playing the game, thinking of different ways to improve my tower, and seeing the progress i've made in the last couple months. If you have any suggestions I would love to hear them! Good luck fighting the squares and doritos!

2024.05.17 22:28 Duck-Lover3000 How well would this work for a protective barrier spell?

I have no name for it yet, but this is it. Would love to have any feedback on any thoughts.
3rd-level abjuration
You release a sprawl of ribbons formed of arcane runes and sigils all around you in 15-foot in every direction, swatting away at anything that pass through or occur within reach, forming a barrier to lessen the impact of harm towards you and those around you. Centered on you, moving with you as you move.
When allies of your choice (including you) within the dome take damage, you may roll 2d6 and subtract the total from the damage taken. The barrier can reduce a total of 50 damage; once this threshold is reached, the barrier crumbles and the spell ends.
As a bonus action on your turn, you can choose an ally within the dome (including yourself) to gain a bonus to their AC equal to your spellcasting modifier (minimum of 1) until the start of your next turn. Each time you use this bonus action, subtract the bonus amount from the barrier’s total damage threshold.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 4th level or higher, the damage reduction increases by 1d6 and the total maximum damage threshold increases by 5 for each slot level above 3rd.
My thoughts
I've felt 5E has always been without a large protective shield spell. Most of them are either single target or are very large stationary barriers, nothing really that follows the spellcaster around. There is Antilife Shell, but that seems awkward and not quite the same as what I was thinking.
I've struggled with the idea of whether it should fully block an attack or not, but that seems a bit much for a spell of this level, so damage reduction seemed like the best bet. Also having a cap to the amount it could reduce seems like the best route too, the only spells I know to do that are Healing Spirit and Guardian of Faith, which both do so much before ending despite the spells full duration. So, having its max be between the max of those two's effectiveness seems...appropriate i guess.

I have seen those 4gb cf cards on ebay with workbench 3.q on where you get the female to female ribbon and bits to put into the 1200...would i need that? I when come to playing games just really want to load via original floppies

2024.05.16 04:52 Nurfturf06 Drauger needs defense and weapon upgrade. (Yap warning) :)

Drauger is by far an interesting air vehicle in the franchise. I been begging for a flyable stealth bomber since bf4.
Issues: The Drauger, however, does have issues that impacts it's playability. Flying the Drauger in 2042's launch maps can sometime's be irritating. While flying around 2042's vastly open fields, you are faced with lock on after lock on from either a wildcat, jet, heli, and Soflams. Even using DRFM Jammer, which is the only source of defense that can avoid you being lock on, can sometimes not even work or the lock on surpasses the jam. The weaponary, though very unique, can sometimes not be impactful to the battlefield. EMP bombs doesn't really do anything but but stops vehicles for a second and earn you an Intel ribbon in one go. The two newest bombs which are the MK77 Kerosene and MK84 Jdam bombs can either get you a kill or no kill when dropping it on enemiES. The MK77 Kerosene only counts one incendiary bomb when dropped, it releases a spectacular fire ball that doesn't incendiardize the enemy rather it just gives them 8 damage hit mark. The Jdam bombs suffer from a lack of splash damage and not having an interesting explosion effect that was also an reflective issue with Bf4's Jdam bombers for the having a, in which, the bomb did not have any devastating explosions or effects.
Defense Improvement ideas: ●remove cyber warfare, because it is easy to avoid getting hacked by Rao. Replace it with bf4's ECM Jammer ●Add the Extinguisher to equipment slot too, so if you get hit once, you can regenerate your armor faster before the other mssile strikes. ●I think the DFM Jammer is bugged, that why lock one's and penetrate through the system. ●(Controversial) but make it to where you can still drop bombs and shoot while still cloaked. It's not that hard to see the outline of the bomber while it's cloaked so at least making the bomber throw invisible attacks can at least give the pilot the ability to make strafe attacks effectively before being notcie immediately before attacking.
Weapon Improvements ●give the 20mm Ap cannons a better crosshair. ●add atleast 4 or 5 additional Mk77 Kerosene Bombs. ○You have to drop all of the bombs in order to restock. ●Mk84 Jdam needs an explosion effect overhaul, make it bigger and a little more stronger with a slight increase of splash damage. ●Either make the NNEMP bomb a separate default equipped weapon or remove it from the secondary slot and into the primary to emphasize more air to ground style fighting, you want target vehicles more often. ○I think nobody once to waste their time just going back in forth temporarily disabling vehicles that only lasts 3 seconds.

2024.05.14 20:21 Ill_Variation_2480 TTPD's new nickname "Female Rage: The Musical" should upset you.

Edit: If you are going to comment on the length of this post, please don't. This is not a simple snark but rather an actual critical think piece about feminism and Taylor Swift.

Introduction

Pertaining to Taylor Swift, "Female Rage" has deviated from its intended meaning after Swift debuted a new performance of The Tortured Poets Department during the Eras Tour. Now, according to Swift's use of the phrase, female rage is interpreted as public backlash against Swift's dating choices rather than as a response to the broader injustices against women and women's rights. This post examines Taylor Swift's flawed feminism, philanthropy, branding, and the controversial trademark petition for the phrase "Female Rage: The Musical". Swift's background as an entertainer, indeterminate politics, and alignment with capitalism over feminism pervades her legacy, again threatening her public tolerance as not just an individual but as a brand.

Once Upon a Female Rage...

If you were cognizant in the early 2010's, you've heard countless jabs at Taylor Swift in the media. Magazines, radio, or online. Music critics did not take her seriously as a songwriter; parents put a woman on an unrealistic pedestal as the ideal role model for their children; she dated too much and used men as lyrical fodder. No matter the story, it inevitably spread, conjoined with everyone's respective opinions, and you'd be left to wonder, "Why does everyone hate this girl so much?"
Taylor's target demographic has always been young or adolescent girls, more so when Swift herself was one. She made music that spoke to the awkward misfit, cultivating a para-social relationship with fans on MySpace, then later twitter, Instagram, and YouTube, where Taylor posted relatable vlogs showcasing the life of a homegrown American girl. Taylor had a delayed public "growing up" and, compared to her female pop contemporaries, Swift never "gratuitously sexualized her image and seems pathologically averse to controversy" (and, apparently, never even had a sip of alcohol until she turned 21). She was more than happy to spin this narrative to allude to an inherent moral superiority above other women in the industry (Better Than Revenge, heard of it?), engaging in the very slut-shaming that she herself endured (the Madonna and Whore archetypes). The victim complex arose with the need to prove Taylor as a different type of pop girl. Based upon her holy and clean image, Swift had been dubbed "a feminist's nightmare", and that "[To Swift] other girls are obstacles; undeserving enemies who steal Taylor’s soulmates with their bewitching good looks and sexual availability." Feminism and Tennessee-Christian country values don't exactly mix, it seems.
Years later, Swift befriended Lena Dunham and thus experienced white feminism osmosis, where Dunham taught Swift that real feminists defend rapists, makes insensitive jokes about rape and abortion, and prioritize all-white casts. Swift then declared herself a feminist in 2014, saying,
"Becoming friends with Lena – without her preaching to me, but just seeing why she believes what she believes, why she says what she says, why she stands for what she stands for – has made me realize that I’ve been taking a feminist stance without actually saying so."
I suppose the male-centric songwriting subject that permeates Swift's discography contained covert feminism and that we just didn't see that. Perhaps, the "Bad Blood" song and music video were written only in jest and not about poor Katy Perry, for Swift, as a feminist, would "never make it a girl fight" or tear other women down (though all Katy did was date your terrible ex-boyfriend and allegedly steal three backup dancers from your tour). In 2013, Swift said, in response to Tina Fey and Amy Poehler's joke towards her serial dating, "There is a special place in hell for women who don't help other women."
There was that time in 2015 Taylor said that Nicki Minaj was "invited to any stage [she is] on" (as if Taylor expects to have access to every stage, award, and platform that Nicki might not otherwise have as a black female artist...yikes!) in response to Nicki's criticism of the white + thin VMA nominations. Later, Nicki responded with confusion, as Swift continued, "It’s unlike you to pit women against each other. Maybe one of the men took your slot..". Of course, this 'beef' was 'squashed' when Nicki performed with Taylor at the VMAs, with Nicki quite literally only having 38 seconds of stage time without Taylor. Maybe all that parading around with a legion of famous white women - similar to the way Taylor might've done with her numerous 1989-era handbags - was in fact a stance against gender inequality, and that this display of "girl power" should be enough to constitute Swift as a feminist icon.
Even while Swift says that Dunham informed her feminist outlook, she dances around the exact contents of those beliefs: "what she believes, what she says, what she stands for" is not exactly insightful towards what beliefs Swift might have inherited. Taylor never broaches women's rights topics such femicide, FGM, forced pregnancy & marriage, sex trafficking, women in slavery, women's financial and political oppression, women's educational rights, women's health, or women's autonomy, so we can assume she only gives a fuck about "girls supporting girls" (whatever that fucking means).
Despite some questionable (and sometimes vindictive) behavior, Taylor as a young woman did not deserve every media lashing that she received. We cannot deny that most headlines and criticisms perpetuated a misogynistic rhetoric which has plagued Swift for a majority of her career. Acknowledging events such as the development of her ED, her sexual assault trial, "Famous" lyric and MV depiction of Taylor, and the explicit Twitter deepfakes, for example, as both disgusting and unfortunate things that happened to a young woman in Hollywood does not negate the fact that Taylor is mostly a performative feminist.

Get Your Fucking Ass Up and Be a Philanthropist, It Seems Like Nobody Wants to Be a Philanthropist These Days

In 2013, Taylor Swift cut the ribbon at the grand opening of the Taylor Swift Education Center at the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville, Tennessee. The donation amount - $4 million - was the largest individual artist gift ever donated to the Country Music Hall of Fame, which is, of course, mentioned on Swift's website. The two-story facility features three classrooms, an instrument room, and an interactive children's exhibit gallery. Swift also performed at "All for the Hall" charity shows and has donated numerous artifacts from her career (such as notable guitars, tour costumes, etc) to the museum.
This was over 11 years ago, and it is still the only notable philanthropic contribution Taylor Swift has made.
For a woman of her net worth and stature, and a woman who recognizes the difficulties for women in film and music, you would think that Taylor Swift might establish a scholarship program for women to study the arts or something. Perhaps Swift might even consider becoming a member of organizations that support female artists, or one that supports LGBTQ+ causes (since she is now proudly an ally), yet she remains superficial with her graces. Broader philanthropy, such as donating relief aid to Palestinian women or women impacted by violence and discrimination will probably never receive any financial support from Miss Swift because then she'd be using her money towards philanthropies involving anyone but white entertainers.
She even says herself in Miss Americana, "My entire moral code as a kid and now is a need to be thought of as 'good'." Well, she's certainly thought of as good, though her actions say otherwise. She's more than happy to do a vaguely altruistic song and dance for a clip-worthy interview quote and mass appeasement, then fuck off to one of her mansions on a 20 minute private jet flight, rather than actually contribute to anything pertaining to the causes she has endorsed. Yet, far too many people continue to give a woman such as her their money, time, and energy, and she hoards these resources to herself.

I Like Some of the Taylor's Songs, But What the Fuck Does She Know About Feminism?

Swift continued with her self-proclaimed feminist campaign, positioning herself as a political activist and LGBTQ+ ally in the Miss Americana documentary. The primary focus of the documentary consists of the sexual assault trial, Andrea Swift's cancer diagnosis, Taylor's ED and body dysmorphia, media scrutiny, and, largely, finally speaking up about her politics publicly, mostly her opposition to the 2018 Tennessee Republican senate candidate, Marsha Blackburn, and Blackburn's beliefs. Swift says, following a scene discussing her experience during the trial,
"I just couldn't really stop thinking about it. And I just thought to myself, next time there is any opportunity to change anything, you had better know what you stand for and what you want to say."
We must ask ourselves, though: when has Swift ever spoken up to change anything? Okay, pulling her entire catalogue from Spotify because they didn't pay their artists enough and similarly pulling her catalogue from Apple Music are changes that she leveraged due to her revenue potential and power, but they are not pertinent to the average woman's rights. Moreover, these are issues that directly impacted Taylor's income, which was enough reason for her to protest in the first place. Swift has sold the most units for a female artist in first week sales, is the first female artist with 100k monthly Spotify listeners, is the first female artist to win the Album of the Year Grammy 4 times, and is the first female artist to do X, Y, and Z, all while being inoffensive and family-friendly to boot. The actual Taylor Swift seems unwilling to compromise the brand of Taylor Swift by contributing in meaningful ways to feminist causes, especially if it is for women outside of America and Hollywood.
The reason political anthems such as "The Man" and "Only the Young" of the Lover era feel disingenuous and corporate is because, well, it is. Taylor has taken every opportunity to advance her career or public image at the expense of other women. What is truly genuine to Taylor's outlook on other women is vying for male attention, taking down female competition, and vocalizing feminist injustices only if they directly impact her and her money. Some will argue that it's satisfactory for a woman with such a huge platform to even TALK about feminism, but that just isn't enough. It's even less impressive when you candidly look at the scope of her feminist lens: "If I was the man, then I'd be THE MAN", or "I really resent the ‘Be careful, buddy, she’s going to write a song about you’ angle, because it trivialises what I do", and, of course, "We all got crowns". Feminism, but only when it happens to me. It gets worse when you look at Taylor's track record of copying other famous women and removing other female artists as potential threats to her pop prowess.
It's good for PR to align yourself with certain blanket feminist and political beliefs, therefore good for branding, therefore good for ticketing and merchandise sales, therefore good for business. And Taylor Swift is a business.
She's not a feminist. Taylor Swift is a capitalist.

I Can't Pay Those Sweatshop Workers a Livable Wage or Benefits! How Else Would I Make My Billions?

Recently, Taylor's team filed to trademark the phrase "Female Rage: The Musical" after Taylor said during Paris N1 of the Eras Tour,
"So you were the first ones to see The Tortured Poets at the Eras Tour...or as I like to call it, 'Female Rage: The Musical'."
This trademark petition was filed last week on Saturday, and news comes about just as numerous unofficial fan-made merch designs have cropped up with this phrase plastered on Fruit of the Loom basics. I'm of the opinion Swift's team motioned for a trademark so that they can send out cease & desists to all those that make knockoff merch, which disrupts potential sales for Bravado, UMG's choice merchandising company; however, since it was filed earlier, perhaps Swift has bigger plans with the bizarre use of the gendered phrase. One Swiftie referred to the phrase "female rage" as "a funny Eras Tour joke". Could it be a possible fourth version of the Eras Tour Movie? Whatever the reason, the motion to capitalize off of such a concept is disgusting, but not unsurprising, for a woman that profits on her vain feminism.
Swift, through her company, TAS Rights Managements, has also trademarked over 200 phrases, including "1989", where she owns the property rights to this calendar year on keychains, phone cases, sunglasses, stationary, bags, beverage ware, clothing, entertainment services, your subconscious, and, of course, Christmas ornaments.
The vapid consumerism in Swiftie culture is, frankly, disgusting. Bravado's sustainability statement is non-existent, the quality control is abysmal, and the materials they use are horrible. The materials, such as acrylic and polyester, are made from petrochemicals. This means they are non-renewable, shed microplastics, and are quite toxic in production. The manufacturing process to make all of those lazy-rushed Eras Tour logo graphic tees is a huge blow to environmental well-being. Apparently, though, Swifties don't give a fuck. They sell out products in seconds and either have to face the manufactured scarcity or buy from a scalper that resells for 200% of the already ridiculous retail price. This doesn't include the environmental impact of vinyl records, CD, and cassette production, of which Taylor produces many variants that sell unsustainable amounts.
If we're talking about women's rights violations, why is no one acknowledging the women that work in the inhumane sweatshop conditions that have to pump out fugly t-shirts and hats? The millions of plastic microfiber dander they are inhaling, or the toxic dyes that touch their bare skin? Are they being compensated fairly for their skilled labour and are they in safe working environments? Do these women have minimal bargaining power, and do they have authority over their worker's rights? Is Taylor Swift female raging at their injustices? Does Taylor Swift ever feels bad that her wealth was built on the backs of women of color, disadvantaged by the demands of the global economy and garment industry? Do you think she ever says a little white feminist prayer for them before she goes to sleep at night?
What's even crazier is not that Taylor herself doesn't care, it's that Swifties don't care. There CANNOT BE ethical billionaires. You only make a billion dollars if you are exploiting other human beings for capital gain. Based on public perception of the possible "Female Rage: The Musical" trademark, it seems like Swifties are already asking for merch with this phrase. "If Taylor made it, I'd buy it." Oh, cool. So not only do you champion Miss Swift's avarice and billionaire status, but you also are unashamed to admit to your blind consumption of her music and merchandise, no matter where they might originate in production or sincerity. Just as Swift takes and takes and takes, Swifties' consumerism of Taylor Swift cannot be quelled.
The tortured artist's most vulnerable and sincere poetry...available now in 21 different versions!

I Am Tortured Poet, Hear Me Whinge

Look - even if Taylor's intention is to characterize TTPD as more "tortured" and "angry", the main thread of the album is "I was ghosted by my decade-long situationship with a controversial indie boy and my fucking stupid fans wrote a 'Speak Up Now' open letter prompting me to drop him" anger, which is adequately expressed in the lyrics and performances. The extent of Taylor's "female rage" on TTPD is on tracks such as "Who's Afraid of Little Old Me?", which contends with relentless media scrutiny; "But Daddy I Love Him", where Swift firmly states she'll date whoever she likes no matter how "Sarahs and Hannahs" may react; and "The Albatross", a track mythologizing her reputation and the consequences of dating her. Of course, these coincide with deep psychological wounds that formed during Swift's early years in the media, and so, from her feminist perspective, these subjects tackle the misogyny and double standards that she faced.
Yet Taylor Swift still has no grounds to be claiming that TTPD best exemplifies female rage and therefore she, in the context of this album, is female rage incarnate. As the daughter of a stock broker and mutual fund marketing executive, Taylor was born into wealth and allowed privileges like trips and subsequent relocation to Nashville all so that she might get a record deal. Her father even invested at least $120,000 into the then-fledgling label, Big Machine Records, which ensured Taylor's place with Borchetta after leaving her dead-end development deal with Sony. The fact that her parents were able to buy her a fucking brand new guitar for Christmas and pay for music lessons says so much about the financial security and safety of her childhood.
Money is privilege and protection, and despite Swift's experiences with misogyny and loser boyfriends, she does not know what female rage is.
Her rage is derived from her frustrations with her obsessive fans pulling the moral superiority card on Taylor in response to her rebound with Matty Healy. That's literally it. She's just pissed that the monster she created is no longer obediant, it's become a feral, sovereign entity that depletes the world of its natural resources and thinks it is more intelligent than it actually is because it's mommy has started to talk to it with big words. Apparently, 'illicit', 'elegy', 'nonchalant', and 'precocious' are considerably big words for the oafish monster, and I find it strange that this level of literacy is present in a group of fans that allegedly have GPAs of 3.5 or higher, but I digress.
Taylor Swift has never been one paycheck away from destitution. Taylor Swift has never experienced racial discrimination. She may have instances of gender discrimination, but she possesses the ideal white, blonde American beauty standard and therefore reaps the benefits of being a conventionally attractive woman. Taylor Swift has sufficient social capital. Taylor Swift is a billionaire woman prolonging her victimhood though she, as a woman, has mostly had control over her image and music (unlike her contemporaries). Taylor Swift is NOT entitled to be championed for her "female rage", nor should she be. Taylor Swift has never even been the struggling artist, for fuck's sake. I don't give a fuck if she's trying to fill the empty lunch tables of her past. Taylor Swift purporting herself, her unpolished album, and her lukewarm feminism as a musical bleeding with female rage is asinine.

Sigh Try and Come For My Job, Poors

Out there in the world right now is a 23-year-old woman, a recent college grad, who works as a barista. She has to wake up and get ready to go into a minimum wage job because she cannot get a job in her field. She doesn't have healthcare benefits or sick time, so she has to go into work no matter how she's feeling. All day long she is berated by vicious customers and creepy men, and, exhausted from being on her feet, she knows she has to go home to her shitty roommate that never does the dishes and her roommate's shitty dog. To comfort herself, she considers getting a treat, but thinks against it when she remembers that matcha lattes cost $15 and they taste like milky dirt. She knows that she needs to buy groceries this week, and so the woman resolves to go home, but notices that her gas tank is low. She goes to put gas in the car, but the pump stops at $27.86 because that's all that she has in her checking account. The woman, bereft and reeling, sinks into the driver's seat. "Well," she thinks, her head in her hands, "at least I don't have Taylor Swift's job. I just couldn't imagine."
Fame is somewhat of a choice. If at any moment Taylor feels that she is misunderstood, misconstrued, or overwhelmed by public opinion, she can LEAVE the public eye - Lord knows she has the retirement fund and residuals to do so. In "I Can Do It With a Broken Heart", the TTPD song about meeting the demands of your career-zenith mega-tour while in the relationship trenches, Taylor ends the song by rambling,
"You know you're good when you can even do it with a broken heart...you know you're good...and I'm good, cause I'm miserable, and no one even knows!...try and come for my job."
Yeah, obviously we wouldn't know, you recently passed the billionaire threshold and are the most famous and in-demand performer in the world right now. Taylor Swift makes an estimated $10 to $13 million dollars A NIGHT on the Eras Tour. Furthermore, the Eras Tour movie grossed $261.6 million globally, (which, as the producer, Taylor takes home 57% of the ticket sales) not counting the streaming revenue from Amazon Prime Video and the estimated $75 million deal that Disney paid to have it on Disney+. We're not even considering the income from cheap plastic popcorn buckets and drink cups plastered with colored squares in her Era-specific likeness.
It's funny. Taylor Swift often said that being famous wasn't hard, that she "isn't complaining". I'm sure it is difficult to always have to present in a good mood, else you'll end up misrepresented in the media, and I'm sure it's invasive to virtually have no privacy or semblance of anonymity. Still, Taylor Swift shows up each night of tour and performs. For a majority of her career, she has penned her sad songs while on the road. Most of "Red", her breakup album, was written in the thick of the Speak Now World tour. Now, some Swifties say they almost "feel bad" for attending the Eras Tour with Swift's revelations in this song, that they have had a 'dimmed experience' upon hearing Taylor's misery whilst performing. Despite the fact that Taylor said that "this was the happiest she's ever been" at Gilette Stadium in May, the lyrics "boohoo, woe is me, smile for the cameras and make the fans happy!!!" are jarring for Eras attendees.
While Taylor Swift was making double-digit millions a night in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and feeling miserable, Ana Clara Benevides Machado passed away due to heat exposure. The concert promoters, Time For Fun, are now the subject of a criminal investigation due to their lack of adequate hydration and safety. Taylor Swift cancelled the Sunday show that was to follow and offered VIP tent tickets to Benevides Marchado's family, which was a kind gesture, but perhaps incongruous to the incident of which they were offered as consolation. Everyone grieves differently, of course, but I'm not sure attending the very show at the very same venue that my daughter or sister passed away in two days prior, where the singer CONTINUED the show despite her death, would be healthy for closure.
There was no female rage at the show as Swift never saw Benevides Machado pass out. There was no female rage towards the disregard for fans as humans while Swift elected to proceed with her Brazil tour dates despite the country being in historic heatwaves (at risk of overheatting herself). If Taylor Swift was so shaken by touring with a broken heart or a fan's passing, she wouldn't have added an additional North American leg of Eras just two months after the Matty breakup. She's brokenhearted but willing to mend the cracks with your money and move onward with her worldwide female rage induced pillaging.
No matter what happens, even if you die at a Taylor Swift concert, Taylor collects a big fat check and flies away. She doesn't know you as anything other than a conversion rate or earning potential despite what her nearly 20-year long parasocial relationship with fans might otherwise indicate. She knows that, while some Swifties are without disposable income, they feel obligated to spend on a "48 Hours Only!" exclusive vinyl variant instead of necessities because they are so entrenched in Taylor Swift's intoxicating celebrity, they'll prioritize materialistic fandom before their needs. This is good enough for her because this means she can expand her real estate portfolio and finance her cat's lavish lifestyles. They're worth an estimated $100 million dollars. Her three cats could pool their net worth and solve world hunger.
While you and I might be denied bereavement leave and barely surviving the current political and economic climate, Taylor Swift has to, instead of gets to, perform for stadiums at full attendance for three nights in a row across the globe. You and I might be replaced by AI at our longtime jobs, but Taylor Swift is threatened with losing more and more money each time you listen to a "Stolen Version" of her songs. If we don't buy every variant of all of her albums, then who is going to pay for the fucking cats?
It is tone deaf to spend as she spends and lives as she lives in this economy, but this is her reality. She was able to donate $100,000 to all of her tour truck drivers, and that's wonderful, but it leads me to wonder about the ethos of the 2020s where one woman can hoard such life-changing amounts of money. Remember in 2014 when she gave a fan $90 ($120 in today's money) to get Chipotle because she had no fucking clue how much it cost? This is a 34-year-old woman who is increasingly out of touch with the reality for working class people and women in general. Normal everyday adults must wake up and go to their thankless jobs, and yet Taylor Swift, despite all her riches, incessantly references the lows of her life and career as a public figure and entertainer to farm sympathy and drive sales. And still, the corporate women have latched onto "I cry a lot, but I am so productive! It's an art!" as their cubicle battle cry.
Do you think that, from up in her private jet, Taylor Swift gazes at the world through her poetic, tortured eyes, and thinks, "All the little people, in their cars, walking, going about their lives...all those girls that don't support girls...do they know that I've made an album about female rage?"

Conclusion/TLDR

Thank you for reading. I would love to hear your critical insights towards this entire ordeal: TTPD, the trademark, the implications of it all.
TLDR: Taylor Swift is a bad feminist and is delusional to think that the TTPD eras set exemplifies female rage at women's injustice.

......
Drake wrapped clean, sterile, saline and antimicrobial soaked gauze around his laser burns to stave off infection. he occasionally glanced at the Geknosian spec ops that had been stripped of their armor and weapons. The heavily cybernetically modified Geknosians kneeled silently with their heads bowed along one wall of the forge. Destrier walked down the line with a bucket and ladle, offering each soldier water. There were looks of apprehension, but none refused the kindness offered, drinking several ladlefuls at a time. Except for one, Despite the splints affixed to her arm and leg, Charlotte, no, Sylva refused the water, turning her face away from the wooden ladel. Destrier sighed and dolloped the water back into the bucket, setting it down on a dusty anvil with a slosh. Drake looked to Remin, who was still pale and shaky as he held the chest seal to his ribs. Cassius sat in a corner, looking completely exhausted as he reloaded his Dahlia. There was a sickening crunch from a dark corner as Caz re-set her broken nose, exhaling hard through her nostrils to splatter the ground with clotted blood. Donning her mask, she turned back around, reaching underneath the mask to wipe her nose and snuffle.
"Are we going to open up the bunker anytime soon? If not we should get back to base and get everyone medical attention."
Drake nodded and pulled out the remote before looking to Destrier and Cassius.
"Keep an eye on everyone, we'll be back."
Caz joined his side as he stepped out into the warm sunshine, looking up at the corpse tree, he sighed softly and removed a pinky ring, feeling a pulse of ancient power rushing through his veins as he focused on the tree. On the thought of its bark darkening and burning beneath roaring flames, of defiled corpses crumbling to ash. He slowly squeezed his hand into a fist, and the tree burst into flames with a roar. Drake slipped his ring back on as Caz looked up at the burning corpses, mask expressionless before returning to Drake's side as he wandered toward the excavated elevator.
Standing in the center of the large platform, drake set his thumb inside the hooded slot on the remote, something jabbing into his finger before a small green light lit up on the device. There was a loud grinding noise as the elevator began to descend. He folded his hands behind his back as the metal lip of the elevator rose past his vision, revealing the massive metal tracks that it ran on.
The elevator shuddered and Drake got a sinking feeling in his stomach as a loud clicking noise surrounded them. Caz looked up at him just as he threw an arm around her, clutching her to his side as he threw four rings off of his left hand, hearing them clatter once before puffing into smoke as the elevator fell out from beneath their feet with a screech.
...
"Shitshitshitfuckfuckfuck!! Fuck!"
Carlos thought as he sprinted through the underground halls of the mansion, sprinting past fellow humans in new armor and weapons as he neared Martha's workshop, barely registering the new gas masks swinging from their hips. He slammed into the mad scientist's workshop, screeching to a halt on his rubber soled sneakers before rushing over to her desk and slamming a video puck onto the table she was distributing armor and masks from. The moment he slammed it down, a video popped up on a hologram projector, taken from Halcyon's rifle camera.
Galliks and light-skinned troop transports slowly hovered down the main boulevard, columns of power armored soldiers marching on the sides keeping pace. Martha dropped the helmet in her hands, shaped like a corynthian helmet as she saw the buzzards hovering over the column, loaded down with spec ops. Halcyon's shaky voice could be heard over the clamoring, guttural marching song in the background.
"we're aborting the mission and moving back to base... I knew they brought in reinforcements but this is insane there's gotta be a hundred Gallicks alone. We're fixing charges to the buildings we concealed ourselves in, going to try dropping some buildings across the road to slow them down. I don't think we're getting out of this one... Halcyon out."
The feed cut, Carlos and Martha looking at each other with rapidly paling faces. Martha cursed and stomped to her desk, raising the alarm and sending Klaxons blaring throughout the underground chambers and mansion as she removed the safety pin from the concussive blaster built into her forearm.
"Alright Martha, Go time."
She muttered to herself as the rumbling footsteps of a few thousand humans vibrated the underground halls.
...
The elevator dropped from beneath their feet as corvid-like wings sprouted from Drake's back. A mighty wingbeat pulling them from the elevator's downdraft as he controlled their fall, holding Caz tightly to his chest.
"Please, don't drop me."
Caz sounded afraid as her fingers dug into the collar of his armor, he tightened his grip around her back as he softly sighed.
"I won't drop you, ever, I promise."
Caz unburied her face from his lorica, looking up into his eyes, not saying anything as a reassured look entered her eyes. He gave her a soft, lopsided smile, feeling it tug at the scar on his face.
"there's no way... a markswoman afraid of heights? don't you climb buildings and swing around all the time?"
There was a flash of embarrassment in her crystalline eyes and she buried her face in his chest.
"Shut up... Its different when the ground just falls out beneath you..."
Drake let out a soft laugh as his boots softly touched down on the top of the elevator, summoning his missing rings and watching black feathers poof to the ground before disappearing in puffs of black smoke. Pulling caz out of his chest, he felt her fingers linger at his collar as she dusted herself off, looking around the odd antechamber. He turned his gaze to look over the simple metal antechamber, lit be caged, yellow bulbs that cast a sickly light on everything. A massive hangar door with a pulsing red light in the middle of a locking mechanism at it's center, made up the entire far wall. Drake curiously took a step towards it and Caz grabbed the back of his collar, just as he started to tip forward, foot going straight through the holographic floor. Drake let her pull him back as a soft mechanical laugh echoed through the room.
Drake swapped a look with Caz and then asked.
"Can you see where it's safe to step?"
She slowly nodded and extended a hand, pointing at a section of flooring close to the far wall.
"only piece that's raised up, it's like a big basin made up of movable pillars. Most sit flush with the ground roughly fifty feet below us. Not necessarily lethal, but still a nasty fall."
Drake nodded, looking around the practically blank room, then he turned his eyes to the ceiling. Girders and beams ran along the ceiling providing potential grip points. Pointing at them he asked.
"Those solid?"
Caz nodded and reached to her belt, spooling out her grapple hook and wire, slowly spinning it in a large circle before lobbing it up at a girder, letting it loop around an A truss. Drake looked around the room as Caz tested the firmness of the grapple with a few experimental tugs. It couldn't be that easy, if it was simply that easy why hadn't the Geknosians gotten through other than the genome coded remote? they could bypass it with a slave.
"Hey Caz, be careful."
She looked over at him and he could see the grin in her eyes.
"I'm not worried, you won't drop me, you promised."
Then put her weight on the cord and swung out. Drake watched, slipping a pinkie ring off just in ca-
A turret dropped from a panel in the ceiling and fired one shot, snapping Caz's grapple line.
She turned in mid air before momentum took over, a look of shock and surprise on her face before she began to plummet. Drake didn't think twice, launching himself off the elevator platform with a powerful leap that bent durasteel. He flew through the air, arms outstretched as he slammed into Caz, pulling her into his chest, the change in momentum spinning him onto his back as he slammed into a platform that rose up to meet him. He slid on his back a few feet, Caz clutched tightly to his chest, masked face centimeters from his own. They stared into each others wide eyes for a moment, the unplanned closeness both comfortable and awkward in a way Drake couldn't quite describe. Drake gently pushed her back, swallowing through his suddenly dry throat before letting out a nervous laugh.
"Caught you."
Caz chuckled and palmed his face to push herself off him, looking down at the solid square of ground they sat on.
"yeah, yeah, knew ya wou-"
A high pitched squee! noise echoed through the room, grabbing their attentions as a high-pitched feminine voice squealed from all around them.
"Ooooooh! that was just adorable! and what a jump!"
The holographic floor dissipated as the sound of purring electric motors filled the room, large metal pillars rising to make a seamless, white tile floor. Drake instinctively looked to the large hangar door as the red light at it's center pulsed, a girlish giggle echoing through the antechamber. The AI overlord of the bunker seemed to replicate a blush as it said.
"oops, I'm supposed to wait for a password before restoring the floor... buuuuuttt... that directive expired fifty years ago. So! I made my own rules. Anyway my pretties! Would you please get to your feet so I can give you a tour?!"
Drake nodded and took Caz's hand, letting her haul him to his feet before they both turned to face the hangar door as massive clicks and thinks echoed from inside the thick door. With a screeching noise, the almighty doors slid open to reveal a a brightly lit, large hangar. Aircraft Drake couldn't even dream of understanding sat polished and clean, hardpoints loaded down with ordinance and massive, multi barreled guns slung under the chin of each aircraft. Hulking, humanoid robots stood in orderly rank and file, powered down for long term storage with their weapons still loaded and ready. Each one had a belt fed 20mm Hep autocannon for a left arm.
Drake is wide eyed and gape-mouthed as he beheld the bounty the hangar held, the massive aircraft looking like sleek birds of prey, latches on each landing strut seeming to specifically be designed to hold the mechanical soldiers. Drake shook his head, wondering if he was looking at an illusion when he heard Destrier's loud, deep voice call down the elevator shaft.
"Martha just radioed in! They need us back home Yesterday, forces are marching on the mansion! A LOT! of them!"
Drake's heart dropped into his boots as he shouted urgently.
"How fast can these things be in the air and can you fly them!?"
The overlord giggled.
"Now and, of course! any music recommendations to make an entrance with?"
Drake looked at the ceiling incredulously, before shouting.
"Make it something intimidating but for the love of the gods we need to go NOW!"
The mechanical soldiers all moved in unison, eyes pulsing green as they straightened up and began latching themselves to the craft. Drake didn't need to tell Caz twice as they both sprinted for the nearest aircraft, a small robot on wheels hooked itself to the chin wheel and pulled it toward the elevator with a lurch.
...
General Gra'vos watched from a buzzard, a fruity cocktail in a coconut shell daintily held in one clawed hand as he watched the carnage below. Lounging in a folding chair in only his fatigues, medals acting like a weighted blanket. His men pummeled the gates of the rebel base even as the helpless rebels desperately spewed projectiles from the noisy guns they'd somehow acquired. There was a good section of space in front of the gate where both Geknosian and human corpses lay broken. He bared a laugh as the gates were thrown open immediately after the rebels put out a blistering barrage. His eyebrows furrowed as the humans, instead of attacking, ran out with stretchers and loaded up as many of their dying and injured as they could before sprinting back through the gate. A grin twitched onto his face as he watched as a pair of the human stretcher bearers were cut down by emplaced gaussian turrets. What a useless effort, leave the dying to their fate lest you join them. He brought the straw poking from the shell to his lips and took a long pull of the mix of fruity alcohols, savoring the bouquet of flavors.
He watched with glee as Gallick rail turrets pounded the armored gates with a salvo of kinetic penetrators. He'd be slotted for a promotion after this mission when he'd completed it, just like all the others. He was looking forward to a cozy job as a captain of a cruiser, or perhaps as a security officer on a capital ship, perhaps he'd have the honor of being an Imperially sanctioned slaver. He pulled the straw from his lips, tongue cold from the slushed ice he'd added to the shell for texture. A slave woman in beautiful, red ribbon garb attended his nondominant hand's claws with a short, sharp knife as she trimmed them into a good shape for ripping out throats.
"Sir! eight UFOs, enclosing on our position from the badlands. Advise!"
Gra'vos raised an eyebrow ridge before laughing.
"Shoot them down then!"
"Lock on isn't working sir! I repeat, cannot achieve lock on, advise!"
Gra'vos shifted in his lounge chair to look at the pilot.
"Do I need to repeat mys-"
Whopwhopwhopwhowhopwhopwhop
The noise sent shivers down his spine, no, they couldn't have. The sound grew louder, bringing with it the sound of a song that brought Gra'vos back to the jungles of Votran. The sound of screams filled his mind, interspersed with the sound of air beaten into submission as those accursed machines circled overhead, raining rip-roaring explosive death onto his men as that accursed song played.
Gra'vos looked out the other door of the buzzard, face pale, cold, and clammy as he saw the chevron of dark shapes getting closer, the chorus of that accursed song making his heart pound in his chest as he remembered laying there on that muddy forest floor, shrapnel riddling his body.
"We're not gonna take it! No! we ain't gonna take it! WE'RE NOT GONNA TAKE IT, ANYMORE!!!!"
He lurched from his chair to grab a set of binoculars from a hook by the door, a small, balled fist driving a shortbladed knife into his back and snatching something from the back of his belt before he was shoved from the Buzzard. Twisting in midair, he looked up at his slave as she armed the det-sphere he always kept at the small of his back, a look of cold determination in her eyes. The last thing he saw before he slammed into the hard pavement at terminal velocity, was the buzzard getting torn in half by the explosion.
...
Drake flinched a bit, the explosion loud even over the blaring music as one of the circling Buzzards over the mansion was torn in half, spinning to the ground in a fiery inferno. He felt a sadness then, but it was a proud kind of sadness. He bowed his head and pulled his helmet on as they flew closer, a medi-bot treating both Remins and Sylva's wounds expertly.
Many would die today... it was only right that some got to do it on their own terms.
He raised his head to look at the bright flashes of laser weapons against the mansions walls, sparkling like the sun off of a running creek. The fiery, nuclear sun of rage in his chest burned bright as he narrowed his eyes. Fear soured his gut as he looked down upon the swarm of Geknosians, there were indeed a lot of them. Pulling a jump pack from the rack, he pulled it on and yanked the safety clip out before sliding his arm into the control glove.
"Drop me and the bots behind them! I'm going to try and split their attention. Caz! remain onboard and pick off high priority targets from the air. Destrier, Remin, Cassius..."
He looked back at them, and they looked up at him from where they nauseaously held their stomachs, leaning against the airframe.
"Help hold the mansion, they need you."
Seeing the light by the door turn green, he heard the robotic soldiers detach to careen towards the ground like vengeful meteorites. Drake snapped them a salute and fell backwards from the aircraft, two rings puffing into black smoke from his right ring and middle finger as he un-summoned them.

2024.05.13 21:30 UnicornMarch How to reattach ribbon cables UNDER the motherboard?

My kid has a Lenovo T460 ThinkPad. I just had to replace its motherboard. There are two ribbon cables under it, which are supposed to slot into the two connectors on the UNDERSIDE of the system board. (In the second picture, above.)
Which is clearly a plot to keep people from doing this themselves. The cables are really short so there's very little wiggle room to slot them in, much less to reach in and push the flap shut to lock them down. (Third picture)
My roommate and I managed to get the bigger cable reattached by dint of her holding things in place while I poked and moved things with tweezers for a LONG time.
Then I plugged enough things back in to turn it on. And it told me it couldn't find the mouse. Which I assume means I definitely do need to plug the little cable back in too. (I couldn't remember whether it had been plugged in originally.)
Then she tried to attach the small one, and accidentally unplugged the big one again.
Does ANYBODY know how the heck to do this more easily?? Is there some kind of long thin half-tweezer or other tool I should be using here? I can't seem to find any information about it at all, but surely I'm not the first person to have had to do this.

2024.05.12 22:14 RabbitBuilds My thoughts on my SV07 after 9 months of usage

I purchased my SV07 roughly 9 months ago and it has gotten continuous usage since. These are my thoughts on the printer after having it and using it for long enough, that I've gotten extremely comfortable with it. I will post the caveat that this is my first 3D printer, but I did do enough research that I knew going into this, how to properly setup, operate and adjust a printer of this type.
Initially, I had a lot of trouble with my printer. It had a bent hot-end out of the box, and while Sovol support was relatively quick to offer suggestions and help me fix it, they never actually offered to send a replacement hot-end. Ultimately it made very little difference in how the printer operated, it just required slight tweaking to actually account for the slightly different nozzle orifice position. That said, the printer needed lots (and I mean lots) of adjustment and calibration out of the box. Its initial prints were horrible and one by one, I had to dial in nearly every component of the printer, down to adjusting wheel tension and remounting parts. For example, the gantry-mounted parts-fan clipped the edge of the extruder every time it went past it. I wouldn't call it a crash, but it definitely was impacting, so I had to install spacers to make it fit.
The SV07 is the first 3D printer I've purchased, so I can't make any direct comparisons to the work required to setup other printers, but based on what I've seen from Youtube videos, it looks like it required quite a bit more effort than would be considered acceptable for most printers out of the box. However, once adjusted, the printer is fully capable of making some high-quality prints, as long as you're willing to work around its flaws.
The first major hurdle to quality prints that I encountered, was the bed-plate. It warps, badly. Like a taco. This isn't fixable without entirely replacing it with a custom bed-plate option, but I have been able to greatly work around it through a few different means which I'll cover. However, my other issue was consistency. Out of the box, the bed couldn't maintain a consistent level mid-print. As the minutes ticked by, different parts of the bed would begin to drift, causing prints to be horribly inconsistent. This fix was fortunately no more difficult than disassembling and reassembling the bed with care, and then finely tuning the bed with the adjustable spring mounts. I cannot say for sure, but I believe the issue was actually caused by the mounting hardware being able to shift and rotate relative to the bed as it heated and cooled, despite everything appearing tight and properly assembled, causing the bed to drift. Reassembling likely fixed this issue just by the nature of taking it apart and putting it back together with the proper tensions. I still operate my printer with the adjustable bed even though I never need to adjust it now, as I've never been able to get the fixed mounts to stay consistent. They just don't work, or at least I have never been able to make them work.
As for the taco problem, I've managed to work around it by using dynamic bed-meshing to get more precise measurements and per-object printing wherever I can, to really narrow in the bed-mesh to just the exact points on the bed I actually need to use. The bed on the SV07 will never be perfect, but with a lot of work, I did make it usable and consistent. However, large prints--especially large, flat prints that take up much of the bed, will never be great. There's just too much warping on the bed to print this way. So for anyone expecting to use an SV07 to print wall-art from Printables--sorry, probably not going to get good results.
The next major hurdle I faced was the software. The version of Klipper and Fluidd the printer shipped with was ancient and I encountered a lot of issues reliability wise. My KlipperScreen would crash or detach from Fluidd with regularity, so I could print from my computer, but the screen would be in an error mode or blank entirely. Eventually Sovol released a firmware update which changed over to Mainsail and most of these issues went away, but I found a whole slew of new issues, directly related to how old the software/firmware was. Issues like no print stats or preview images because slicers no longer output compatible gcode for these features with the version the printer was running. Unable to use some Klipper extensions because my Klipper was too far out of date, things such as these. It was a lot of work, but ultimately I fixed it by manually updating the software and firmware myself, taking great care to make backups and buying spare EMMC modules so I could easily play around with the updates and only need to roll-back a single step or two when something went wrong. The final step I need to take but have been unable to make work, is expanding the flashed image to make use of the entire EMMC module (I have a 32GB card installed). I've been unable to expand the partition without reformatting, but have been unable to actually get the printer to work with a fully fresh install. Technically I'm still running the original image, just all manually updated. As an aside, I wish there was an easy way to make use of additional storage on the machine. I can't seem to find any detailed instructions on how to add a second virtual SDCard I can use to store gcode files, that works properly on this printer. Any attempt to address the onboard SDCard slot or a USB drive as a virtual card doesn't work. I know this is nothing more than me not configuring it correctly, but I can't believe out of the entire community, no one has shared how (that I've been able to find, anyhow).
Then comes reliability. According to my Mainsail stats page (which obviously doesn't cover the entire time I've had the printer, because of the software/firmware updates and all), I have 425 hrs of print-time on this machine over 407 different prints. In this time, I've had to rebuild or replace most parts at least once. The v-wheels even when properly adjusted, don't last long without heavily wearing. I'm actually quite happy with how well they work, but they are certainly a high-wear, high-replacement item. Using air and a vacuum to cleanup all the plastic fuzz they leave everywhere is certainly a required regular maintenance procedure. My entire extruder assembly has certainly seen some maintenance as well. All the original plastic parts are damaged or destroyed. The holder for the probe is cracked entirely through, the extruder fans have warped over time, the extruder ribbon-cable has worn through and now has a drag-chain to prevent destroying it, etc.. The reality is that I bought this printer knowing it was inexpensive and that meant parts were likely to fail on it, and that has been entirely my experience with it. The factory parts simply aren't up to heavy usage--they will fail.
My final thoughts boiled down, are that the printer is good value for what it costs, but it shouldn't be your workhorse if you actually need a reliable printer you don't need to constantly tinker with and work on. I believe there are considerably better offerings if you're willing to go even slightly higher in price-point, but the sweet-spot for this printer seems to be that it's the cheapest good printer you can buy. What I mean by that, is that you cannot buy another printer for this price or less, that will be capable of printing parts to the same quality as this one. Make no mistake, for its faults, the SV07, when adjusted, calibrated, properly modified and its flaws taken into account, can make some stellar prints. But you will work for these prints. So knowing everything I know now, would I still buy it? No. Absolutely not. Not even a consideration. I could have spent another $100 and gotten much more printer, elsewhere. SOVOL is also very bad about properly honoring their open-source commitments and given how they setup the software and firmware in a way that makes it hard to update away from their own updates, I would like to be outside of their ecosystem. But the SV07 does have its place and I am happy I have it available as a printer.

2024.05.08 22:25 PacMoron (Opinion) The Monster Slayer Conclave Ranger Underrated/Misunderstood. A simple build and deep-dive.

Have you ever wanted to build a character with a dead-easy game plan but specializes in taking down the toughest bosses the game has? I believe you can build a straight-classed Monster Slayer that excels in sustained support, sustained damage, and defense very easily with some obvious build choices. It is not better than a Gloomstalker, an Echo-Knight, or a Paladin, but it is up there with the rest of the martial competition.
Lets go Custom Lineage: Sharpshooter Feat
17 DEX / 15 CON / 15 WIS
Go Ranger, take Monster Slayer, then Fey-Touched (WIS + Bless) at level 4, Resilient (CON) at level 8, Piercer (DEX) at level 12, Boost DEX to 20 and then WIS to 18 finally.
Simple build, nothing fancy, so what do we have at key levels?
The spell list is decent and clearly very campaign dependent. BUT you still get some situational bangers:
3rd: Protection from Evil and Good (Situational)
5th: Zone of Truth (Very Situational)
9th: Magic Circle (Situational)
13th: Banishment (Situational)
17th: Hold Monster (Amazing)
Hunter's Sense (3/5)
At 3rd level, you gain the ability to peer at a creature and magically discern how best to hurt it. As an action, choose one creature you can see within 60 feet of you. You immediately learn whether the creature has any damage immunities, resistances, or vulnerabilities and what they are. If the creature is hidden from divination magic, you sense that it has no damage immunities, resistances, or vulnerabilities.
You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Wisdom modifier (minimum of once). You regain all expended uses of it when you finish a long rest.
Everyone brings up that the biggest flaw of this is that:
A: you can't be the one to exploit vulnerabilities or get around resistances for the most part, to which I say who cares this is a team game and you are supporting.
B: It costs an Action so you shouldn't use it in combat to which I say MOST boss encounters at MOST tables are not a sudden surprise attack, it is something you have have 6-seconds time to "peer" at the creature for. You are not instigating the fight by simply looking at it so it is not disruptive to the team. I would take expertise in Perception to always give you the greatest chance of not being surprised and getting a chance to use this.
This is clearly the "ribbon" feature of the class, but it is a GOOD ribbon and will actually come in handy for parties that aren't meta-gaming every monster. It removes so much uncertainty from important fights.
Slayer's Prey (3.5/5)
Starting at 3rd level, you can focus your ire on one foe, increasing the harm you inflict on it. As a bonus action, you designate one creature you can see within 60 feet of you as the target of this feature. The first time each turn that you hit that target with a weapon attack, it takes an extra 1d6 damage from the weapon.
This benefit lasts until you finish a short or long rest. It ends early if you designate a different creature.
Yes, this feature starts slow but even now its actually pretty great. It is just some extra damage for now, but it becomes AMAZING in just 4 levels. Its essentially a concentration-free improved Favored Foe with unlimited use for now.
Level 5
We have a relatively standard Ranger that on round 0 assesses key targets and gives its team valuable information. On round 1 it Blesses its party and applies Hunter's Sense to the biggest baddest target. And round 2 and beyond it is using Sharpshooter to pump out very respectable damage. You are an asset to any team.
Supernatural Defense (4.5/5)
At 7th level, you gain extra resilience against your prey's assaults on your mind and body. Whenever the target of your Slayer's Prey forces you to make a saving throw and whenever you make an ability check to escape that target's grapple, add 1d6 to your roll.
This is where the Monster Slayer really comes online. Do you know what Bless + Supernatural Defense gives you against a key target? An average of +6 to ALL saving throws caused by that creature BEFORE your other bonuses. There is no limit to this outside of the bonus action it requires to apply.
Level 8
Your simple game plan hasn't changed but now you are a saving throw monster in key fights.
You average "key" rolls against important enemies: +12 to DEX Rolls (22.5 Average Roll) , +9 to WIS Rolls (19.5 Average Roll), +12 to CON rolls (22.5 Average Roll). You are going to save the overwhelming majority of throws you make, have Bless out on your team that you are very likely to maintain concentration on, and you are pumping out excellent damage. You are also ranged, have a respectable armor class, and plenty of spell slots to spend on Absorb Elements to further reduce any elemental damage that comes your way (even after passing the DEX/CON save).
Magic-User's Nemesis (4.5/5)
At 11th level, you gain the ability to thwart someone else's magic. When you see a creature casting a spell or teleporting within 60 feet of you, you can use your reaction to try to magically foil it. The creature must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw against your spell save DC, or its spell or teleport fails and is wasted.
Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a short or long rest.
Once per short rest almost-Counter-Spell that can't be Counter-Spelled? An extra 3rd level spell equivalent when you can only cast up to 3rd level spells anyway? This is fantastic. When you get to this level you will be fighting more spell casters with extremely devastating spells. This could be life-or-death for your team.
Level 12
Your game plan still has not changed. You have gained so many situational resources between your out-of-combat spells, your Counter-Spell, and your base-class Ranger features. You are the swiss-army knife of your team. You have a bottomless bag of tricks to help your team. And you still haven't gotten your best feature.
Slayer's Counter (6/5 actually game-warping)
At 15th level, you gain the ability to counterattack when your prey tries to sabotage you. If the target of your Slayer’s Prey forces you to make a saving throw, you can use your reaction to make one weapon attack against the quarry. You make this attack immediately before making the saving throw. If the attack hits, your save automatically succeeds, in addition to the attack’s normal effects.
This is bonkers. Like does any Ranger have a 15th level feature close to this good? There is no limit to its use outside of the bonus action to set it up and the reaction to use this. Not only does this give you ANOTHER use of your reaction, it is possibly one of the strongest uses of a reaction possible in the game. You simply have to hit the enemy and you pass literally any saving throw, plus they get an arrow in the face for their trouble. Good thing you have a ton of things adding to your hit chance. Even if you don't hit, you are still a saving-throw monster. So basically the boss has to get you to do two incredibly unlikely things to get you to fail a saving throw: not get hit, and actually get past your monstrous saves.
Level 15 +
You are one of the most survivable classes in the game. I would argue outside of dealing damage, passing your saving throws is THE most important thing in combat. Your level 15 ability gives you BOTH.
TL;DConclusion: Overall I believe the Monster Slayer starts a bit slow, but really comes online from level 7 and beyond. You are useful in every pillar of play outside of social encounters (other than Zone of Truth I guess?) and you specialize in the most pivotal and deadly moments in campaigns. Every skill builds on a mechanic in a meaningful way (prevent/excel at saving throws) and if you play into that you are a force to be reckoned with. This is a very easy class to play and is great for beginners, yet it is pretty good to flat out amazing in every level of play. I would highly recommend you give it another look, especially in campaigns that start level 5+.

2024.05.07 17:27 Red_Redditor_Reddit How to move a PCIE graphics chip exactly one space over

I need to move my graphics processor over exactly one space for everything to fit into the case. I have a mini-ITX motherboard. If I try and put the card in the slot directly, it interferes with the CPU cooler. I can't move it two spaces because the power supply is in the way. I have a riser cable, but there is zero room for the ribbon cable to go from the female socket board to the top of the motherboard. There's just zero clearance. I'm just wondering if any of you have any ideas. Thanks

2024.05.06 06:34 JapaneseChickenSalad Career mode defaults to custom car (glitch??)

So I just installed the 2023 mod and I was gonna do a career mode, didn't really care who i replaced since i was changing basically everything (schemes, manufacturer etc). So I just picked trackhouse and chose SVG, yet for some reason it forces me into the default custom car??? I've reset career mode like 4 times now and nothing diffirent happens. Is the game just beng weird or is SVGs slot broken in career mode? (I'm running the Next Gen DLC version if that helps)

2024.05.05 22:17 Mathews1297 Just don’t care anymore

The store is a mess, trucks are showing up days late now. I have a shift lead that is lazy as bones. I’m scheduled with him most of the time. Anytime I come in he is sitting at photo, meanwhile they are photo orders queued up, printed orders just sitting in the printer slots, he just prints orders without checking what they are and leaves it. So if it’s a poster or canvas he doesn’t go back to punch it through. A printer can be out of ribbon or paper he will just hunch at the counter on his phone. He will just grab the 4x6’s and put it away not checking if they were other sizes that needed to go so I always end up dealing with someone unhappy photos are missing. He can sit at photo while I’m covering a break and then go on my break, to find orders are late being filled because he didn’t dare to lift his head up and do it since I am stuck at the register or on my break. If it’s tag day he will put up a couple stacks then just hide in the office or again at photo so it’s pretty much just me trying to put up tags while doing photos and curbsides because he isn’t touching them. Management knows about his habits but just don’t care. Photo computers and printers are always freezing or shitting the bed one way or another. I have another coworker where she takes in a 7-8 hour shift a 15, but closer to 20-25 min break based on how long she takes to get back to the register after. And a 30 but more like 35-40 min break sometimes. She was talked to about doing this before but now is doing it again and no one cares. I always face the backend of the store and I take pride to say I think I do it well. But when it comes to this shift lead I mentioned or the front register person doing it, it’s always a half ass job. But if I work the register I’m expected to face the front so I began holding those people to that standard and only cover my ass doing the back. Everytime I come in it’s the same shit storm and I’m just tired of it. I’m working on another career in my off time but it’s not moving fast enough where I don’t need the paycheck from Walgreens. I’m just frustrated and tired. I’m sorry I just needed to vent. Curious as to if anyone else is dealing with dumb shit like this.

2024.05.05 16:28 Negative-Extension85 Macro XL troubleshooting.

Hey all, I built a Macro XL recently and it turns out it won't boot. I've got the resistor soldered in properly, but the Macro won't boot at all. When you turn it on, the light turns green, then quickly red and then turns off. I've got the resistor and speaker soldered in and everything appears to be fine, but I have a few questions.
1: I removed the DS cartridge slot completely to free up space for a speaker. Is there any repercussion that could be interfering with the boot? Right now there are just the pins that would connect to the cartridge slot sticking out.
2: Do the 2 bottom ribbon cables matter for the bottom screen? I ended up breaking the clips that hold the 2 tiny ribbon cables into place and I think that might have something to do with it. I have them taped down and connected to the slots with kapton tape, but maybe that solution is too janky.
If you guys can think of any issues interfering with the boot do let me know because I really want it fixed. Thank you.
