I just need to get this out there. I've been experiencing stalking for almost a year. I believe it was two different people, but I've never really gotten confirmation on this. Starting about this time last year I began getting notes in front of my apartment door. They were weird and sexual. The worst of it was when he started leaving notes asking to meet and once even left a condom. Unused thank fuck. He would also bang on my door at weird times. I did report to the landlord and police. They just recommended getting cameras and continuing to report anything. Said I could have a do not disturb on my door.
Once I put in a ring camera/disclaimer the notes stopped. Nothing happened for months. Then someone took my camera and tried to destroy it. I replaced the camera only for it to be destroyed again. I got it on video, he was throwing it down the trash shoot. Again went to the police and they weren't much help. Dude eventually destroyed 4 cameras.
Once I was home when he tried. I could hear him trying to remove it from my door so I yelled at him to stop. We had a verbal altercation in front of my door. He called me evil and blamed me for yelling and swearing at him. He seemed to have no understanding that he wasn't allowed to just take my things. This time police did come and talk to both of us. I could hear him saying that I was scaring people with my "messages" (potentially the do not disturb sign?) and was into stuff like tarot (not anyone's business and no idea how he would even get that impression). Police told him he's not allowed to touch my stuff and to leave me alone. Currently he's getting charged with harassment and theft. I moved because I couldn't deal anymore with constantly feeling unsafe. And now that I am safe and things are progressing.. I don't really feel anything. I'm not sure if it's because I don't trust it or what. Curious about what other people have experienced.

I am working on building my resume and relevant experience to apply as a police officer. I am applying in Southern California to smaller departments so I want to put in the extra effort since there is a lot of competition.
I really would rather not ask “what if” question but because I am investing time and money into this (through pistol training, volunteer time, etc) I have a couple of specific questions related to possible background disqualifications.
This is personal so I apologize in advance, feels a bit odd sharing this information but I feel like all of the LE folks on this thread have been incredibly helpful with advice:

I was barely sleeping, I lost weight due to the stress and this was a difficult time (5 years ago). My ex-boyfriend decided that because I was all over the place emotionally I must be bipolar. He struggled with mental health issues so he felt that I must as well (in hindsight this was a case of emotional control). In wanting to take care of myself I made an appointment with a psychologist and on a 15min Zoom call I basically said I think I have bipolar, he immediately prescribed the medication and that was that. I took two of the pills that week and then I started questioning the diagnosis. I have no family history of bipolar and I have never been diagnosed with any prior mental health disorders then suddenly at 26 I have a boyfriend telling me this and in a weak moment I believed him. I am 31 now and this was a misdiagnosis in every way imaginable. I parted ways with that person years ago and did not need to continue taking medication at all. I have held a stable job for years, have lasting relationships and in no way fit the description.
Does this need to be disclosed or would you consider this a reason for DQ?
I could make a new appointment with the psychologist and get the misdiagnosis written down? Not sure if this would put eyes on the issue that I don’t want to highlight.
Appreciate any advice and I hate to even share this but I don’t want to invest money/time in building my resume only to be disqualified. I otherwise have a really clean history, excellent credit score, no debt, never had a speeding ticket in my life.

I just had a random phone number call my cell phone. As a rule, I typically don’t answer unknown numbers (especially from a different area code) unless I am expecting a call. I google the phone number and name that appears and sure enough it’s a Primerica “business owner” from two states away 🙄 They don’t leave a voicemail but almost immediately send a text about a “business opportunity” for “additional streams of income”, but called me by the wrong name…like completely wrong and not even close to my name or any variation. I have had the same number for 20+ years and no one on my cell account has the name they used.
Has this happened to anyone else? Where would they have gotten my phone number, especially connected to a totally wrong name? I reported the phone number and text as junk and blocked them so maybe if it happens to enough people their number will show up as junk/spam call. Their area code and business location match, but like I said I am states away with an area code that matches where I am.

An Asgardian (or Norse) surname is typically the father's first name plus the suffix -son or -dottir. Right?
If so, why isn't Sylvie's last name Odinsdottir?
To explain: In Loki S1 E1, we see Loki's TVA arrest paperwork. His full name is given as "Loki Laufeyson," with "Loki Odinson" mentioned as an alias. It makes sense to list "Laufeyson" first (especially since this Loki, just plucked from 2012, had not yet reconciled with his adoptive family).
But Sylvie's TVA variant incident paperwork lists her name as only "Laufeydottir". That seems odd. From what we know, Sylvie considered Odin to be her father, despite (or because of) his openness about her adoption. Wouldn't she have taken "Odinsdottir" as her last name?
Even more puzzling is the fast that Sylvie's TVA arrest report calls her "Laufeyson," and her Wikipedia entry says she was "born Loki Laufeyson." Wait a sec, Laufeyson?
We know "Sylvie" was an alias of her choosing, so we can guess she was named "Loki" at birth. But at some point, did she permanently transform herself from male to female? We see her as a 10-year-old girl in her childhood TVA flashback, so if she was once male, she must have changed at a very young age. Did she transform herself? Or did someone else do it, and if so, why? I don't think this was ever explained.
It isn't explained by Sylvie's TVA file, which lists her gender simply as "Female." And even if Sylvie was listed as genderfluid like our Loki, that still wouldn't explain it, because our Loki is never called "Laufeydottir," only "Laufeyson."
Maybe I missed an explanation somewhere. Or maybe I'm overthinking it, and the naming wasn't designed to stand up to a great deal of scrutiny?

I have just told a man to fuck off because he tried to move to me sexually and I wasn't honestly interested in his advances. He's told me he will get me a well paying job because I have been out of employment for a while. He's telling me 'usijali there's too many jobs" nikasema okay and I sent him my documents. Anyways before he started being weird I did an interview to which he connected me and I did so well according to the interviewers and they gave me a date to report but they didn't get back to me upto now. Just as the title says, I've made a website where TTRPG players can register to playtests in exchange for "bounties", which can be anything from discount codes, to free PDFs, all the way to cold hard cash for the more "involved" forms of playtest. It's completely free to use, there's no ads, and it's open source. I'm a D&D Youtuber so all I get from this is:

1. I've already made some money through the Youtube video where I presented this website, last month.
2. I publish 3rd party supplements myself, so I directly benefit from a website like this existing and seeing some use (I've got plans to post a bunch of paid playtests myself, they're just not quite ready to take out of the oven just yet!)

How to use: There's two important points I want to convey (they're mentioned in the video, but I'll spare you the 15 minutes + the ads and just list them here instead):
1. The less you know about a publisher or a game, the more your opinion matters.
Usually, the only people who register to a TTRPG publisher's playtests are those who are on their mailing lists, their discord servers, their subreddits, etc... They are the people who know that publisher the best, and they usually have a bias in favor of that publisher. But the goal of a playtest is to give game designers a fresh new perspective - so if you don't know anything about a publisher, you will be much, much more valuable in that publisher's eyes as a playtester.
When you register as a playtester, one thing the website asks is for you to list which TTRPG systems you're familiar with. But I hope that if you're a new D&D player, you won't let this discourage you from registering to a bunch of playtests: the fact that you're new is great. This "familiarity" metric isn't there for you to brag about how much of a TTRPG nerd you are, it's there to help publishers make sure their playtest covers a wide sample of their target audience.
2. There are opt-in Discord notifications.
If I'm being honest, this website is... Exactly the type of website people would normally visit twice, and then forget the existence of for the rest of eternity. So rather than try to change your daily habits, I've put together a system of notifications, which makes it so the info comes to where you would probably check anyway: Discord.
You can set up alerts whenever a new playtest is created, and add filters such as "only tell me about playtests for D&D", "only tell me about playtests no longer than a one shot", or "only tell me about paid gigs". I also recommend enabling notifications for when one of your applications is accepted, to make sure you don't miss it.
For the Discord bot to be able to send private messages, you just need to be in a server where the bot is installed. You can install the bot in an empty server if you want, or you can join one of the servers it's on, such as the dndnext Discord server, or even mine.

I'm posting on behalf of my coworker, who is facing extreme difficulty with her daughter and needs advice. I have her full permission to share this story, as she has run out of ideas and is feeling desperate.
My coworker, Janice, and her 17-year-old daughter, Dakota, live in Michigan. Dakota was raised without a father and has only known life with her mom. She also has three older half-brothers who have their own lives and families.
Since starting high school, Dakota's behavior and appearance have changed significantly. She started wearing all black, dying her hair different colors, buzzing her hair and eyebrows, getting significant facial piercings, and dressing in tights and all-black clothing. While this was quite different from Janice's more traditional tastes, and took some time to get used to, this is not the primary issue.
The situation escalated when Dakota was kicked out of her high school prom last year for wearing a revealing, gothic-style dress. Additionally, Dakota has faced numerous issues leading to her being placed in remote learning. A few years ago, Dakota reported that she was sexually abused by a classmate, leading to difficulties returning to school despite appropriate actions being taken against the boy involved. Her mother supported her fully throughout this process.
However, Dakota later reported similar separate incidents involving four more boys and eventually a school counselor. This resulted in the decision for Dakota to complete her schooling online. Throughout these events, Dakota has been in weekly therapy sessions and on medication for depression and self-harm. As a result of numerous situations, people in the office’s suggestions became more questioning of Dakota and her mother agreed that the frequency of incidents left a common denominator that couldn’t be ignored.
Dakota struggled with her schoolwork to the point where the school threatened legal action. Despite multiple accommodations—online schooling, shortened courses, extra time, just completing exams, logging time online, and even just attempting reflections—Dakota refused to comply. Every, single lenience took place of numerous week to give her more of a chance. Eventually, she told her mother she didn't intend to graduate.
Janice feels guilty for raising Dakota in a less-than-ideal neighborhood and for having to work full-time, leaving Dakota in daycare and alone during COVID. Janice's colleagues believe she might be making too many excuses for Dakota, as other students also faced COVID challenges and managed to graduate.
Dakota has a few friends with similar interests, including a 20-year-old friend. Discussions about school often turn into fights, and Dakota frequently threatens self-harm or running away. Recently, Dakota received a letter from the magistrate about her absences, which led to another heated argument where Dakota once again threated to run away and Janice, in frustration, told Dakota she was sick of having that over her head anytime something came up. She is trying to help Dakota and feels scared to have these talks with her as she is just told she will harm herself or run away. In the heat of the moment, Janice said if you cant be a grownup and talk about this go to you room and she did. Dakota then called her mom that night and asked if her friends could come over. Janice said no out of frustration and Dakota said well their already coming which led to Janice boiling over and saying the answer is no, she needed to figure out what they were going to do. At this point Dakota packed a bag and left.
Dakota did leave and initially stayed with her 20 year old friend and her mom before moving to another friend's place. The two moms confirmed. Janice discovered this friend was significantly older, around 25, making her very uneasy. Dakota came home once drunk and with drugs in her coat from this ‘friends’ house that Janice never met. This led to another fight and more threats of self-harm from Dakota. With growing doubt and worry Janice demanded to know where Dakota had been staying and learned it was with a man she thought was around 25 but later found out was 33.
Janice called the police, who took Dakota to the station, but they didn't find the man at the apartment. Dakota told the police she was staying with her friend's boyfriend.When Janice picked Dakota up from the station, Dakota told her she would move out when she turned 18 in a few months and planned to get her GED with her older friends. Janice confronted Dakota's friends, warning them about the dangers of being with someone so much older, but they denied anything inappropriate was happening. Her friend even confirmed that neither of them is dating the man and was unsure why Dakota would tell the police as such.
Janice feels she has tried everything to help Dakota but is worried about her daughter's future. In conclusion, she has tried quite literally everything with Dakota, but she is just going down a bad path that everyone in our large office of office workers feels will ultimately lead to Janice financially raising her grandchildren in the future. We have thrown ideas such as bringing in her brothers for an intervention, but this has already been tried and they agreed that ‘school is stupid, and nobody cares about that anymore’. We all believe their bad influences as they give Dakota support because frankly, they don’t really care due to the significant age gap or seeing her once a year. She is considering military school (though it might be too late), and other interventions. Some feel Dakota has chosen her path and there is little Janice can do.

Hey there I am new to this subreddit and I hope someone can help me figure this out. So about a week ago I went to my doctor's office to get my prescription represcribed to me And also to change my pharmacy to a different one. My doctor told me that she re-sent My prescription and that I would have to call the pharmacy I want to change too. I called the pharmacy I want my prescription to go to and tell them my old pharmacy information and my current doctor information, And then the next day I call them again And they tell me that they got my order in and that the beginning of next month I would be able to pick up my prescription. This week rolls around And I call the pharmacy to get an update on my prescription only for them to tell me that they don't have my name in the system they don't have any order for me in the system at all because my prescription was expired. So I call my old pharmacy to ask them if My new pharmacy called and also asked them if my prescription was outdated and they also told me that my prescription was expired for over a year. So now I'm trying to get in contact with my doctor but I am not able to because she is closed her office until June 17th. I want to report this doctor but I don't know if this would qualify as malpractice or anything if someone can explain if it is or not I would really appreciate it. But literally my doctor lied to me and when I'm about to run out of medicine she's not available. I'm trying to get a new doctor that can get me in before June 17th but it's been difficult especially being on the ACA.

Backstory; been in recruiting the last year and a half almost two in one role. I have had a really just negative relationship with my new day to day supervisor but a good relationship with our manager. The supervisor literally hides from me. They don’t talk to me. They don’t look at me. They are literally basically an emotional wreck every time they have to talk to me. It’s really fucking weird. It’s super exhausting reporting to them. It’s an exhausting relationship. They think I went over their head multiple times on purpose and since our original manager left, the coworker asked to be my supervisor and has been trying to set me up to fail for the last six months. They blocked/asked to block my contact to senior management so they could control what information was being shared. In essence, I need my role for another three months. While it’s not ideal, it is what it is. I was recently hit last week with an informal pip which was repackaged as a goal setting document so that in three months, I can be included in a second round of layoffs.
My career: I got two certs from two popular organizations and three years of experience.
Current: I keep on going back and forth between setting an appointment with our manager and asking for a layoff. There’s a high chance I will just be let go instead. I can’t afford that.
I feel harassed constantly by my daily supervisor. They asked me to build reports they don’t read. They ask me to send emails they don’t read. They want me to update information over six times over that no one reads. They give me half information and refuse to relinquish part B because it means they won’t be able to critique anything. It’s really hard reporting to them because we both know they don’t do anything.
At this point, I’m only able to do maybe two tasks a day before I have to update six different systems with the same information no one uses.
I’m burnt out and I’m done. I’m trying to ride it out but I’m not sleeping. I’m on edge. I have to watch my back every second.
I had a fun weekend this weekend and Tuesday came along…. I was just not happy.
I’ve already escalated. Management reamed them out because they were nothing but kind for awhile. I made a mistake by telling the day to day supervisor that I thought we were getting along now. They changed their tune again to criticism for the next four months. They tried to shame me during a company event pressuring me to be on-site so they could feel good about themselves. I told them politely that we can do a Microsoft Teams call as there is little reason for me to be on-site. They cancelled it.
We have a weird power dynamic where when I simply say no, they get wigged out and throw a temper tantrum. They also told people I was absent on a day I wasn’t and tried to play it off as a mistake when they knew I was online and received my message to my whole team. This happened on the same day.
Is there any way I can privately ask to be laid off and negotiate a small settlement without being fired on the spot as the reporting relationship is not a good fit?

During the last week of January, my school vice principals became aware of my familial situation, which at the time involved physical abuse. They decided not to inform me about a scheduled meeting with my mother, with whom I had a strained relationship. During the meeting, two vice principals, including my vice principal and my school program lead, did not allow me to speak and labeled me as disrespectful when I attempted to correct my mother’s false statements. This situation caused me to become visibly upset, though I was crying rather than shouting.
The vice principal then instructed the child and youth worker present to take my school supplies, including my personal laptop, notebooks, and textbooks, to prevent me from leaving as I expressed discomfort and wanted to leave. This happened just before the January end-of-semester exams, which left me significantly behind in my studies. The child and youth worker then took me to her office and locked me in, again to prevent me from leaving. She accused me of being manipulative and deceptive when my alarm went off during the meeting, and I denied having a phone. My mother had restricted my internet access, impacting my ability to complete schoolwork and putting me behind my peers. This is why I had originally purchased a phone for myself; to complete school work. The child and youth worker was aware of this. After being released, I chose not to engage with them further until recently. I did not record the meeting.
On May 27, 2024, a teacher in class made a joking comment about giving us all "S" for behavioral skills on our report cards due to excessive phone use, and mentioned that she had taken pictures of a male student (referred to as "Fred") on his phone months prior. I commented that I had spoken to Fred's mom recently, and she found it amusing. The teacher then loudly asked "shouldn't I be talking to my own parents?" despite knowing about my estrangement due to physical abuse. This caused an audible reaction from the class, who found it inappropriate.
I reported this to my vice principal, who invited the social worker. They dismissed it as banter, suggesting that I had opened myself to such comments when I spoke to Fred's mom's amusement and that the teacher might feel uncomfortable around me in the future. The exact wording was "She might feel like she has to walk on eggshells going forward." They attributed my discomfort to my broader situation rather than the teacher’s comment and suggested I should see a therapist as my reaction was unwarranted and I should have addressed it with the teacher first. The vice principal remarked that my crying was manipulative and that if the issue were urgent, I would have reported it earlier. The meeting was at 9:20 AM. I had initially sought to speak to her at 8:20 AM but was told she was already in a meeting and that she would call me down when she was free. For reference, first period starts at 8:22 AM. She offered to facilitate a meeting between me and the teacher the next morning. I did not record this meeting but plan to record the next one.
How would one best go about this going foreward?
My specific questions are:
Did the school violate the Child and Family Services Act by failing to take appropriate protective measures after knowing about my abuse? Was it legal for the school to arrange a meeting with my mother without informing me, considering the abusive context?
Did the school have the authority to confiscate my personal laptop, notebooks, and textbooks to prevent me from leaving in this context?
Was confining me in a room against my will an act of false imprisonment under the Criminal Code? Do I have a case without evidence on my part?
Did the teacher's comments about my family situation, and the administration's dismissive response, constitute harassment or discrimination under the Ontario Human Rights Code?
Due to the lack of evidence, for the most part, am I better off speaking to an out of school but within the board regulatory body, like the superintendent? Before pursuing legal avenues?
Is there any other legal angle I might be able to approach this from?

So far, no official response from Fidelity Investment MOD regarding this post about Elan Financial Services. Only an AI response.
My parents were victims of fraudulent transactions on their Fidelity Visa last month. Friday, they received a call regarding that previous fraud. The phone number was spoofed and they thought they were speaking with Fidelity. They asked them to read back the verification codes and told them not to share them with anyone. The call was scripted just like it would have been with Elan Financial Services, the Fidelity Visa Card issuing bank.
When they hung up the phone they checked their Visa account and saw there were not any fraudulent transactions. They immediately called Elan Financial to report the fraudulent call. Unfortunately, the perpetrator not only accessed their Visa but accessed their Fidelity Brokerage with this information they had stolen!!! The criminal opened up new accounts and transferred funds via PayPal and Venmo. Their account is now locked down for 3-5 business days while Fidelity Investigates.

Wetshaving is a multi-faceted hobby. Choose a rabbit hole - vintage razors, chasing the latest bases, taking super technical and well composed SOTD pics and hydrating your bowl lathers with a syringe - there is something for everyone to go crazy about.
For me (and I suspect many others), scent is where it’s at. I love pairing soaps, splashes and fragrances of different kinds and probably haven’t used a matching set in more than a year. I like thinking about what synthetic chemicals, EOs and FOs have gone into making a fragrance, what was the inspiration and what were the choices made when composing a scent. If this is you, then you are what Feats of Fragrance aims to celebrate.

History of the Contest

FoF was started by u/hawns, Shawn Maher of Chatillon Lux and Maher Olfactive at some iteration of the Lather Games. Shawn has been a major part of the /Wetshaving community for many years, beginning with Chatillon Lux, making scents and post shave products inspired by the history of St. Louis and a thriving soap collaboration with Declaration Grooming. This culminated in the opening of Maher Olfactive, allowing Shawn to emphasize artistic creativity, over material and budget constraints. Both lines feature fine fragrances that have garnered many, glowing, reviews and was even nominated for the 2020 Art and Olfaction Awards!
For many years, u/whiskyey, followed by u/dganjo ran this competition (along with being a judge for the Lather Games). Thank you both for all the work that you put into it (and for letting me steal from your respective writeups).

So…What is this contest?

From the original competition announcement, FoF is an LG side contest for those who "show olfactory excellence in their post-shave and fragrance routine. It could be education, personal or downright weird."
My interpretation of this is as follows (this is an open interpretation, please feel free to run away with it as you like)

1. How much are you thinking about your scent choices for a particular theme?
2. Why did you choose to dickhole (or if you are like me, non dickhole?).
3. How does your scent evolve over the course of your shave and the day.
4. How do your scent choices make you feel?
5. Can you write out a thoughtful comment/haiku/shitpost to give us an insight into all of this? It does not have to be a million words. Pretty Please - make my life easy.

Earlier FoF contests considered all SOTD posters as entrants into FoF. This year, however because of how the Lather Games have scaled up, I will be doing things slightly differently.
