2024.05.19 20:35 IhatethatIdidthis88 Fangame/Romhack Question

I recently got into pokemon again, having a blast with Soul Silver and only now did I find out there are fangames and romhacks of the official games too. Is there anything that combines the first 3 or four regions, without way too weird alternate mechanics, even staying to the classical aspects (like pre mega evolution). Not that I'd necessarily mind mega.

2024.05.19 19:35 yakusokuN8 [META] Bounsweet and other Community Day shiny Pokemon

Tl;dr: time is not a good measure of your bad luck when shiny hunting.
Every Community Day, there are a few posts in this subreddit (and on other social media) from people who will complain about not finding a shiny, not finding enough to have one of each in the evolution line, or that it took too long to finally get a shiny.
That feeling of frustration is absolutely a valid one and I'm not here to say that you shouldn't feel that way. And social media is a fine place to vent and talk about your problem. Every Sunday, there's a whole post in this subreddit devoted to ranting about things in this game that frustrate us, and there's lots of issues with this game.
However, commenting, "I was playing for an hour and didn't find a single shiny." is not the best measure of how unlucky you are today. The odds of finding a shiny is roughly 1 in 25, so if you want to truly grasp if you were unfortunate or not, you should look at how many shiny Pokemon you have compared to the number of encounters, not how much time has elapsed.
If you're sitting at home, on your couch, running a single incense and don't find a single shiny in the 12 encounters you had, that's not a streak of terrible luck. You only have about a 39% chance to find at least one shiny with so few encounters. Even if we more than double it and look at your luck of 0 shiny Pokemon after 25 encounters, your chances rise to 64%. Not getting a shiny is sad, but it's not unbelievable. It's close to losing two coin flips.
If you're in a shopping center and you caught 1 Pokemon every minute, you have a 91% chance to get a shiny after 60 encounters. VERY high, but that's still almost 1 in 10 trainers will not have a shiny even after that many encounters. The same hour for all three of these scenarios, but the chances of no shiny can vary a lot, depending on how many encounters.

Is there a fangame that combines the first 3 gens, giving you all regions and pokemon? Ideally I prefer older mechanics, like stuff up to ss/hg, rather than mega evolutions and so on

2024.05.19 07:51 Stanley232323 Daily Community Tiering Post Day 32: What does the Delphox say? It's Delphox!

Hello again everybody!
Before we get started on today's post the current voting for Infernape currently has votes for B tier with a solid lead!
So with that being said it looks like Infernape is likely to join the B tier! (Also the previous vote for Aggron did end up with B tier votes in the lead as well) Like with all previous votes I'll continue to check the numbers and if anything changes I'll update it on tomorrow's post.
(Please note that this voting/tiering is centered around Classic as after a certain point in Endless only about 5 Pokemon and 2 abilities are truly viable.)
So current tiers are:
S tier - Garganacl, Cloyster, Skeledirge, Gholdengo, Tinkaton
A tier - Gyarados/Mega, VenusauMega/Dyna, Aegislash, Corviknight/Dyna, Excadrill, GardevoiMega, Toxapex, ScizoMega, GengaMega/Dyna
B tier - Kanto-Persian/Dynamax Kanto-Meowth, Weavile, Starmie, Rhyperior, Quagsire, Mamoswine, Whimsicott, Aggron/Mega, Infernape
C tier - Linoone
F tier - Dustox
With that being said let's get to today's vote!
Today is day 32 of tier voting and today we will discuss the magic fox, Delphox! After 3 straight generations of Fire/Fighting starters Delphox was a welcome change with the (at the time) unique and new Fire/Psychic typing. As of now there is also Armarouge with that typing but for 3 generations Delphox was the only Pokemon of that type combination (even it's pre-evolutions were just pure Fire types). Delphox has a good Special Attack stat, which is the second highest of all the Fire type starters (even beating Skeledirge, with only Hisuian-Typhlosion having a higher Special Attack), and the 4th highest among all the starters combined (behind Primarina, Inteleon and the aforementioned Hisuian-Typhlosion). It also has good Speed and Special Defense stats at the tradeoff of being kind of frail on the physical Defense side. It's Hidden Ability hasn't been known as the best historically, but in this game it actually is pretty useful! On top of that this game gives it some more useful tools in the form of really strong egg moves (including one of the strongest moves in the game) and a Hidden Ability which synergizes with one of its other egg moves extremely well and also gives it protection against priority attacks (most of which are physical attacks and Sucker Punch in particular can be very threatening for it). It's natural movepool also has some solid utility options and decent coverage moves.
(Also here is the post with rules for voting/tiering posts and a little more explanation about them in general: https://www.reddit.com/pokerogue/s/0LNZhPPzR9 Links to past votes can all be found here as well in comments added to the OP with each new vote)
And here is a quick reminder of what each tier generally means:
S tier: Top tier, can make or break your entire run, essentially the cream of the crop
A tier: really strong but not quite top tier, maybe slightly outclassed or has a slight weakness holding it back
B tier: solid choices that can make it to your endgame team, might be reliant on team composition to truly function well or might just be outclassed as well
C tier: usually early-mid game Mons, ones you don't really want to take to end game if you can avoid it, usually pretty decently glaring weakness but something redeeming enough to keep from F tier
F tier: no reason to use in end game unless you're doing it for a meme/joke
Abstain/No Opinion: this will be a voting option mostly just for Pokemon people haven't unlocked/used to their full potential yet. If Abstaining votes outvote each individual tier then the Pokemon will be tabled for the time being and another vote will open up for it later (can mostly see this happening with Legendaries).

2024.05.19 06:19 Stanley232323 Daily Help/Questions/Fusion Suggestions Megathread 5/19/24

Daily Help/Questions/Fusion Suggestions Megathread
Hello everybody!
This is the Daily Megathread for general and simple questions as well as asking for advice on which Pokemon to use the fusion splicers on.
The goal of these Megathreads is to hopefully reduce the number of repeat posts and de-clog up the SubReddit.
If your post was deleted and you were redirected here please check the comments to make sure your question wasn't already asked and answered today.
If you're looking for a really well-written, in-depth beginners guide we have one pinned but you can also find it through this link: https://www.reddit.com/pokerogue/s/6ck9cZj0NG
I'll also include some common questions and answers so please check these below before repeating the same question.
(Most of these are from the official Wiki which can be found here as well as more info like which Pokemon are in which biomes, shiny odds, and the stat spread of each Dynamax form) : https://wiki.pokerogue.net/start
*
Commonly asked questions:
Q: What does the pink box around some starters mean? A: The Pokemon has PKRS which increases the amount of Exp gained, the Pokemon will eventually spread it to your other Pokemon. Every day 3 random Pokemon are selected to have PKRS for that day
Q: What does the little blue and purple symbol by my starter mean? A: You have the Pokemon's Hidden Ability unlocked. When you catch a Pokemon you will know it has the Hidden Ability because the text will be Yellow. You will have to switch the Ability to use the Hidden Ability
Q: What do (P) or (N) next to a move or ability mean? A: (P) means Partially Implemented (usually for moves this means it does the attack but not the secondary effect) and (N) means Not Implemented. (Eventually everything will be implemented)
Q: Can you ever catch any Pokemon in the last biome of Classic? A: Once you have hatched the Pokemon from an egg you can catch duplicates of it ONLY IN CLASSIC MODE in the final biome
Q: How do I evolve this Pokemon? A: Any evolution that has been changed from the main games can be found here: https://wiki.pokerogue.net/gameplay:evolutions
Q: How does fusion work? A: In short, the 1st Pokemon you fuse will dictate the Passive ability (if you have it unlocked), the 1st type of the fusion, the Level, IVs, and Nature. The 2nd Pokemon will dictate the Ability of the Pokemon and the second typing (which will be the Pokemons second type if it is a dual-type). Luck is combined, learnset (including TM compatibility) are also combined. Note: if you unfuse them the second Pokemon will be lost Second Note: both sides can evolve normally but only the 1st half can Mega/Dynamax evolve or use items that change their form More info can be found here: https://wiki.pokerogue.net/gameplay:mechanics:fusion
Q: What is a "Manaphy egg"? A: An egg of the same rarity as an "Epic" egg that has a 7/8 chance of hatching a Phione and a 1/8 chance of hatching a Manaphy
Q: What does the (+1), (+2), (+3), etc. mean under my starters moves? A: You have more moves available to choose from than just what is listed, since a Pokemon can only have 4 at a time obviously you will have to change them if you want different ones
Q: What are some good starters for Classic mode? A: We actually have a Daily Voting/Tiering Project going on, you can sort the SubReddit by "Daily Tiering/Voting Posts" to see the most recent one which will have the updated tier list. If you want to know why a Pokemon was Voted a certain way or what makes it so good or how people use it successfully feel free to ask that specifically in this thread in the comments :)
*
A few tips if you're asking for Fusion Suggestions:
Obviously post a picture of your team, but also include in the comment their Nature's, Abilities, current Moveset and whether you have the Passive Ability unlocked on them.
If your question wasn't on the list above or for suggestions on which Pokemon to Fuse from your current team feel free to ask in the comments of this thread :). Individual posts of these types will be removed to reduce the number of repeat posts in the Sub.
As always, Happy Roguing!

2024.05.18 23:41 Sckeyth Full 15k CSMM run with Trainer Teams

Link to the video: https://youtu.be/9pNjj8ozct0
If I understood the subreddit rules correctly, direct links to Youtube aren't allowed but the links are allowed in forms of text posts and due to the video being almost 27 minutes long I chose to upload the video on Youtube instead of uploading it directly to Reddit.
I added timestamps to the video description for each round and to the gear, sync grid, lucky skill and parameter sections of the video. I also listed out couple obvious mistakes I made during the fights in the description.
Teams and match ups
Your standard poison stall strategy. Buff your team and debuff the opposing team and wait for them to succumb to the poison.
Paralyze the opponents to power up Electivire's sync move and then apply Electric Field and nuke the opposing team once you've raised Electivire's critical-hit rate to three. Raichu helps with Discharge and Luxray can buy you some time with Thunder Fang.
Sync first with Psyduck for double sync buff and Enduring effect. Starmie is the team's main damage dealer with Hydro Pump and Vaporeon helps with it's sync move.
The hardest fight out of the five. Sync first with Celesteela for double sync buff and Enduring effect. Sync second with Steelix for Mega Evolution. Sync third with Magnemite for the last double sync buff and then rest of the syncs with either Steelix or Magnemite depending on the move gauge and which one requires healing more.
Celesteela is there to buy time, Magnemite to paralyze and to debuff opponents and Steelix is the main damage dealer.
Gigalith is the only truly on-type Pokémon and it's mainly role is to tank and the sync. Flygon is there to trap and flinch opponents and to re-set sandstorm once the first one from Gigalith is starting to die down. Duraludon is the main AoE damage dealer and can also flinch opponents.
I decided to start doing these 3k CSMM Trainer Team clears when Candice got her third alt but this week was the first time I was able to do a full 15k clear using just Trainer Teams.
I try to keep the clears at least somewhat on-type due to some trainers (coughRedcough) having some absolutely busted units that could easily off-type any stage but some teams (like Raihan) are definitely stretching the on-type restriction a bit but I chose to accept any team where each pair has at least one on-type move on them.
I still had to use one off-type team for this 15k clear though as there is currently no trainers with 3x Fairy type pairs available so I chose Leaf's Poison Stall Team as my 'wild card' for the Fairy round.
I have done and posted nine 3k CSMM Trainer Team clears here on Reddit (all of them listed at the bottom of this post) but there are still at least five more left to do but I'm still missing some pairs or other resources to be able to comfortably do them and hopefully I'll one day be able to do a full on-type 15k CSMM clear with just Trainer Teams.

So I stopped my Eevee's evolution into Espeon because I wanted an Umbreon this round, and now I just... Can't get it to evolve at all? From what I hear you're supposed to be able to turn evolving back on in the Pokemon menu but this is all I see.
