I've been reviewing some basic enumeration and I finally figured out something really obvious that's confused me for ages.
One of the first things you learn in enumeration is what's usually called the "product rule": X x Y=X x Y for finite sets X and Y. At least, that's what I thought it was. I've been reading Loehr's book Bijective Combinatorics and he describes the product rule like this:

Suppose S is a set of objects such that every object in S can be constructed in exactly one way by making a sequence of k choices, where k is a fixed positive integer. Suppose the first choice can be made in n1 ways; the second choice can be made in n2 ways, no matter what the first choice was; and so on. In general, for 1 ≤ i ≤ k, suppose the ith choice can be made in ni ways, no matter what the previous choices were. Then the total number of objects in S is n1n2 · · · nk, the product of the number of choices possible at each stage.

At first this really annoyed me since it seems way wordier than it needs to be. A little later I was reading his proof of the "permutation rule", the basic fact that the number of permutations of a set with n elements is n!, which he proves with this product rule. That made me realize something super obvious: the set of permutations of a finite set cannot actually be written as a Cartesian product of sets, but it has the same size as a Cartesian product of sets, namely sets of size 1, 2, ... , n. The core of the argument is that for each choice you make, the number of choices for the next object is invariant, even though the objects themselves might not be (like they would be in an actual Cartesian product).
What the product rule is really saying is that if you can arrange a set of objects into a rectangular array (more generally, an n-dimensional box), then the size of this set is the product of the lengths of each side. Again, this is trivial. But sometimes it's not, since it might not be obvious at all how to do this. You need every space in the box to be filled with exactly one object, or in other words, a bijection to a finite Cartesian product. A lot of tricky enumeration problems are hard because you have to show that if you look at things in just the right way, then you can apply the product rule.
Another related (trivial) fact is that there's more than one way to count the objects in a rectangular grid. The two most obvious are counting rows first then multiplying by the number of columns, or counting columns first and multiplying by the number of rows. A huge number of double counting arguments basically come down to this observation. There's also nothing stopping you from counting a grid in more complicated ways. An example would be the way you prove the rationals are countable by enumerating them along the diagonals (this isn't a finite set, but it's a similar idea).
Later on in Loehr's book he gives a rigorous definition and proof of the product rule that's basically what I just wrote. This is one of those things that not usually explained because it's so "obvious", but I think it would help a lot of people who have trouble with combinatorics not feeling rigorous enough.
Somehow I managed to get a master's degree in math and do some research in graph theory without ever really understanding this. Granted I didn't do anything involving enumeration. I guess reviewing the basics does pay off sometimes.

Doing some theory crafting here and was wondering what technologies and government policy would be necessary to create a world where even small countries have massive, modern fleets of offensive air power. The Ulysses event explains (most) of the absurd number of expensive super weapons but not really the high number of tactical aircraft squadrons. In the real world, most modern military aircraft are extremely expensive and require enormous resources to train, maintain and support every squadron. Does Strangereal have more resources like fossil fuels and rare Earth elements than Earth? Maybe these humans are better adapted to the stresses of air combat? Throw in whatever factors you think might be realistic.

The sloping ground around the Kiaurk family mesa had been sculpted into shelves or terraces, and it was on one of those upper terraces that Kiaurk Nshurr now lounged beneath a pergola anchored to the striated stone face behind her. The mesa rose at her back: an enormous, looming, almost sheer outcrop that her family's dwellings had been carved into the face of. Wide, shallow steps cut into the artificial (but entirely convincing) sandstone wound their way up between landings and porticos leading inward, between tiny balconies shaded by bright solid-colored canopies, between rooms with flat walls and rounded corners that came jutting out to shadow the steps below. Rriigkhans rarely used glass as window barriers; smooth-edged holes had been cut through the rock in varying shapes and sizes. It could be difficult to tell which apertures were windows and which were entryways. A physical barrier that kept out the elements was obsolete in all but the crudest dwellings, though some of these larger holes were curtained with braided string or strips of cloth that served a purely decorative purpose.
From her high vantage point Nshurr could see the shelves stretching out below her as the base of the mesa leveled out to flattish terrain that was a wonderland of vegetation in muted rainbow colors: mustard yellows, clay reds, earthy browns and the occasional dash of sage or dusty blue. This scrubland lay like a blanket around everything below that was not part of the village between the mesas. Down there, adobe compounds never taller than two or three storeys seemed so squat compared to the mesas that Nshurr could see towering in the distance, many of those family mesas only a few hours walk from her own if she traveled by foot. The village sprawled, with tile parkways winding in serpentine fashion between the various buildings, courtyards, parks, and ponds. There were no property lines, no clear division of the land into neat little plots owned by the individuals who lived and worked in these places. It all seemed to be part of a whole, with a single unifying aesthetic. The village housed those rriigkhans of the lower castes, the kharratah and chelhautah, and the humans which were a caste all their own, haukagh-ar, except for a small number who lived with their masters in the caverns of the mesas or up on the plateau.
This planet, Sgarrl, terraformed over three hundred years ago, was home to more human servants than any other Ssaarian world – aside from Earth, of course, discovered eighty years ago. The fact that humans shared so much in common with rriigkhans made them the perfect species to incorporate into the rriigkhan caste structure as servants. They breathed the same mix of gases and required similar gravities, and their nimble little fingers were very useful for all sorts of work.
The rriigkhan language was not necessarily too complex for humans, but it was wholly unfamiliar – too many phonemes that did not fit comfortably in human mouths, from grunts to huffs, to rolling trills that might by voiced or not, sometimes rumbling out like a purr. To a human, Nshurr's name was a sigh and a trill, and yet she was accustomed to humans vocalizing her name in their heavy, slurring way: Na-Shuurr! Nasher! Sometimes simply: ɽ͡r! which she recognized more easily as her name, or at least part of it, and not some random sounds.
Still, despite the weird pidgin humans had made of her language and their English, she liked the little creatures. She had come to live with her Grandmother on Sgarrl only days ago, and had never encountered them before. The males only stood as tall as her collar. The females were shorter still, much like the males of her own species.
To human eyes Nshurr was felinoid, with a muscular swimmer's body and the broad muzzle of a big cat, with watchful, forward-facing predator's eyes that seemed unexpectedly expressive, because rriikghans had almost as many muscles around their eyes as humans did around their mouths to convey the nuances of emotion. Despite being larger than even many Earth men, she was considered sleek by rriigkhan standards. She made up for that with her broader crest.
The rriigkhan crest was something like the crest of Utahceratops – a keratinized plate growing up out of the skull, except divided into three lobes instead of two, with scalloped edges along the outer rim. Unlike depictions of Utahceratops, the rriigkhan crest was not covered by skin. At least, not on the top. Thick ropy veins squiggled under velvet fur on the underside, closer to the neck. (A thick, arching neck muscular enough to support the weight of that crest meant that Rriigkhans walked with a stoop that made them seem hunchbacked, to humans.) The surface of the plate on top was often rough, even bumpy or corrugated like deer antlers in some areas, smooth in others. Every female crest had four tines jutting from the front – a pair several inches above the eyes, and another pair further up. Directly above the lowest set of tines were twin holes, the howrf channels, just big enough for a human to insert a finger. These holes were very much like nostrils – much deeper, but damp inside, and lined with short, fine hairs to protect the sensitive mucous membrane from debris. The organs housed within these channels were the heart of rriigkhan culture, the foundation of all relationships, of sex.
Male rriigkhans, of course, had only their neotonous crests: diminutive, mostly smooth with rounded edges, without tines or howrf channels. Cute.
Nshurr's crest was wider than average, her upper tines spaced further apart, and combined with a compact face this made her look top-heavy. (A human might say that she was more snow leopard than lion.) Most female crests did not interfere with the movement of the ears – highly mobile, highly expressive paddle shaped things – but the edges of Nshurr's crest did jut out enough to almost shield them.
That her crest was weighty, that it was inconvenient, that she was often aware of it – this was Nshurr's pride. Her long tail curled in pleasure when she caught males looking at it. Humans seemed to be intimidated by it sometimes, as if she might decide to gore them with her “horns.” She considered herself a confident person; not a braggart, but self-assured, and to carry her jhekaah so visibly pleased her to no end.
Her fur was an almost peachy off-white, but a mask of pale peach shaded each seafoam green eye. The mask blended into the white further up her forehead until fur gave way to bone-tan crest, and was split between her eyes by the white of her nose. Oblong spots in that same peachy color, each blending from dark to light, streaked down her sides.
These weren't the natural colors of her distant ancestors. It was unheard of to see a rriigkhan who was not gene-modified in some way, even if those modded genes had been part of rriigkhan life for so long that no one thought of them as mods any longer. She also thought nothing of the subtitles her augmented reality implant displayed whenever a human spoke, AI translated to help her decipher the pidgin. AR was simply a part of her, had been since she was a kit.
Reclining as she was on a padded lounger in front of an iron brazier, full of cold ashes from last night's fire, Nshurr was dressed in a pale coral shift only a few shades darker than the peach of her fur. Medallions trailing fringes of cloth had been sewn onto the front bottom half of the knee-length garment. A row of those ornate medallions defined a plunging neckline that bared much of her chest, muscular and broad, possibly even masculine to a human. Her breasts were lower on her body and similar in appearance to a mare's udders: long nipples on a pudge of fat nestled close together on the pelvis, just above the place where her thighs joined her body. They were only small lumps beneath the shift when Nshurr stretched out her legs so that the thin fabric fell across them. It was the roundness of her hips and buttocks that marked her female to the human eye. (As if her crest didn't make that obvious!)
She was listening to the sound of two younger female cousins wrestling on a nearby terrace, and although from her vantage point Nshurr could not see them, she could imagine the scene from what she heard: Fherou and Lahk growling while they grappled with their arms, the crack of crest hitting crest and then the scrape of tine sliding against tine. Each was fighting to control the other's head, each trying to bite the other. It wasn't easy when each had a shaggy ruff to protect her neck, and any attempt to bite the other's face would be thwarted by an interposing crest. Rriigkhan hands were less dexterous than human hands, more pawlike with stubby fingers, but capable of delivering hard blows, and once or twice Nshurr heard a cousin snarl in response to a strike against her body.
The competitive pheromones her cousins exuded from their unextended howrfs, quite unconsciously, were beginning to make Nshurr's own heart beat faster. The end of her long tail, where it hung down from the reclining chair, lashed in agitation. She was beginning to imagine sinking her teeth into someone's skin herself, and if her cousins had not been so much younger and smaller than herself she might have gone down to their terrace to show them a thing or two. It was putting her off the human flute music she'd been listening to, fed directly into her own brain through her implant for her private enjoyment. (Certain aspects of human culture were very popular here on Sgarrl; she'd been curious about it.)
She did not feel like going inside to escape the pheromones; Nshurr craved the warmth of the sun on her fur, not the cool stone and artificial light of those warrens. Most of her male cousins had gone into the village for boating today. Well, perhaps she would go down and join them after all.

For this prompt I imagine you'd play a human servant, probably a new arrival to Sgarrl but maybe someone who was born there. Even though I've set up a situation where my character would have a lot of power and yours very little, I want to clarify that I'm not interested in abusing your character I am looking for a slow burn interspecies romance that develops naturally. This story may deal with power imbalances and even speciesism, but I'd like to explore those topics realistically.
I want to explore all aspects of loving relationship... Flirting, cuddling, kissing, lots of romantic scenes and character growth. My “type” that I'm most attracted to are men with average bodies in the 40-60 age range, with realistic personality flaws. I am more than willing to tailor my character's personality and physical attributes to suit your tastes, within reason. I appreciate partners willing to do the same.
I prefer to reply more than once a day. 2-3 replies per day would be ideal, but I understand life gets in the way. I usually write 2-5 paragraphs, or 150-450 words per post. This starter is much longer than my typical post length, but my lengths vary according to need. If I'm introducing a new character or setting a scene, my post might go up to 1,000 words.

All I know is that it is authentic and it's buffalo leather. Just curious what the name of it is and what year it's from. If I had to guess, I'd say early 2000s because of the chain, I know that was a popular feature back then. I cannot find a serial number but I did find a tag that says Made in Turkey. The chain can be removed and is extremely heavy.

I bought a used gen 2, that is not activated, and I tried reading the kit / serial number to activate it but I can’t read it as it’s gone from wear and tear. I received bo manual just the dish, cables and router.
How do I activate it? Does starlink have a number or some place I can take it to? I’m close to spacex.

I will now review the proposal document of Numo worldlang from the article called the "Reference Grammar of Numo":
1) The introductory paragraph presents the generic appeal as many other worldlang projects with the schematic-orientation, Latin letters, vocabulary from many languages across the world, and high learnability.
2) It use IPA to specify the pronunciation of letters and is faithful to IPA pronunciation apart from phonemes whose IPA letter are not part of the 26 Latin letters. A problem of the presentation is that it uses the Anglophone ordering of the letters which made it problematic to compare it with other languages and assess the phonemes by manner of articulation.
3) It specifies the general phonotactic rule, diphthongs, gemination rule, and consonants that could only occur in simple onset. However, It does not specify the restriction of the second element of onset.
4) The word order is clearly SVO and right-braching except for adverbial constituents which can occur at either edges of the clause. It uses suffixes to mark verb and clause-level grammar which could result in allomorph.
5) It uses capital letters for proper nouns and reduce orthographic and phonological change to proper nouns within the orthography and phonology of Numo. I would agree with this policy since proper nouns tend not to be commonly used and has unique association with a culture.
6) It attachs two affixes on number words to create ordinal numbers and fractions. It also list other functions words.

At the end of each of the target's turns, it can make a Constitution saving throw against your spell DC. On a success, the poison ends. The smoke spreads around corners. The area is heavily obscured until the end or your next turn.
Radiant Flashbang
As an action, you create a bright explosion on the impact on a radius of 10 ft of your shot. Creatures that you choose in the area gain 2d8 temporary hitpoits and and creatures that you choose must make a Wisdom saving throw or they will become blinded until the end of your next turn.
Thundering Blast
As a bonus action, you charge your shots with thundering energy. The next Arcane Firearm attack that hits the target deals an extra 1d8 thunder damage and and you can knock the target prone if it is Huge or smaller.

So I recently went to a video game convention and found a Sega Dreamcast with a serial number of “1” and I wanted to buy it because I could burn ISOs of sega dreamcast games and play it on there… it was listed at 200$ and I was curious if it was even worth it or not. Is there any better way you found your Dreamcast at a cheap price (if you got one?)

The point of this post is for me to understand some of what I believe to be "common" behaviors, and to see if anyone has had similar experiences. Sorry if this is long, I typed it out and didn't realize it would be haha. I guess this turned into a bit of a vent.
Background: We are both 35, Me (m) her (F), we both have a child from previous relationships. We met in Oct of 2019, we had gone to HS together but never talked or hung out then. We met up through mutual friends, and began hanging out often right out of the gate. This were whirlwind, we slept together on the first date, which she told me "She never does". Told me she slept better in my presence than any other time in her life. I was the hero, and all was well. (Same old story lol) and by Jan we were talking about living together. The onset of Covid rushed this, as lockdowns began, we grabbed up a rental and moved in together. We wanted to at least be together as a family if Lockdowns were coming. Thigs were still good for months, and we both handwaved the speed at which thing moved, happily blaming it on covid. We went on an amazing vacation in June of that year (road trip, the roads were empty, again, because Covid.) We got a puppy on this trip and surprised our kids when we got back. By this time there had been a few arguments, but nothing I saw (at the time) as any red flags. She brought her ex up somewhat often in the beginning, and we laughed at some of his antics together. He isnt the brightest bulb, but I didnt see this as a red flag at the time. However, as the summer waned, the arguments kicked up in frequency and intensity. by September, she was telling me things like "you should find someone better" "Im not worth it" etc. I was heartbroken, but now I see this as a "soft exit" she was attempting. I didn't bite, I loved her and was devoted. The arguments got worse, and her "soft exit" turned hard, fast. By late Nov, she was a miserable, stressed angry person who was never happy with anything. Then she kicked me out (and my son, who was 7 at the time). I was on the lease, and didnt actually have to leave, but I did because I wanted to be amicable and I was still so in love with her. Kicked out last week of Nov. She had a new BF by Christmas, and spent the next few months in NC. Come Feb 2021, she started reaching out occasionally. Initially about something benign, like mail. then they just kept going. I was asking to see her, etc, she kept telling me "me talking to you makes NEWBF uncomfortable, we shouldn't" etc etc. I said I didnt care if he was uncomfortable, HER AND I were meant to be etc etc. This back and forth continued through that summer, and in Aug she broke up with him, and I moved back in that Sept. Whirlwind # 2, which as you all my have guessed, didn't last as long. By Jan-March of 2022, we were arguing a lot again, and things were starting to feel awful again between us. My SIL was helping her get a new much more lucrative job, and it "wasn't happening fast enough" and she was all kinds of touchy, angry all the time. Eventually she DID end up getting the job and working from home, and was much happier. Looking back however, I believe this changed effect her view of my "value", as she was now making more than I was. She started complaining a lot about me not pulling my weight, but our budget and exepenses hadnt changed, nor had the amount I was contributing to these things. Seasons effect her mood quite a lot, and by Spring we had gotten a 2nd puppy, and things were again pretty happy most of the time. We planned a 2nd vacation, for the same week in June as the first one, and this time we took our kids. Amazing vacation, best week of my life. During this vacation, i bought a ring at a local mom and pop jewler, and with the help of the kids, popped the question during the high point of our vacation. She was thrilled, kids were thrilled. We head home, 2 weeks of happy, excited wedding brainstorming. Then she went cold. The romance died off very quickly. She started going to a new Gym, and would talk to me about people (guys) she had met there, and brought them up often, talking about how cool they were. I eventually told her these felt like comparisons and I wasnt a big fan, but was glad she was enjoying a new sport. Then my annual "Summers end" camping trip with friends was a drama fest, where she drank too much, and was very flirty (just BARELY mild enough to be able to brush it off when asked about it) with one of my best friends. He was even offput by it, which he and I discussed after the fact. The last few weeks of summer were pretty awful. She caused a big scene at my brothers house, and cried, smearing her makeup, and came out looking a mess. My SIL told her to go back in, as to not worry the kids and she said "they should see this, they should see how me makes me FEEL!" So by late Sept. she was telling me to leave again, I was trying to fix things. One morining right after I put the kids on the bus, she blew up at me over my angry response to two weeks of passive agressive comments about a stupid water jug. She told me she wanted me gone then and there. My son got on the bus, and never got to come home. Never said goodbye to his step sister, his dogs, his house (which he LOVED), his classmates or anything else. I had to pull him from that school, a week into 2nd grade, so Myexwife and I could enroll him in the town she lives in. I had nowhere to go. I had stayed 9 months at a friends house the first breakup, but that wasnt an option this time. I ended up having to stay in a camper for 6 months, which STRONGLY jeopardized my 50/50 custody. Because kids shouldnt sleep in campers through the winter. OBVIOUSLY. 2 months after kicking me out, she told me she found out she had been pregnant since July, and hadn't known. She said she was scheduling a last min termination. We hadn't talked in weeks at that point. She went and did that, and we went back to NC. She stared dating a new guy, from the gym. That didn't last, and she was hitting me up for hookups by January (which had to be secret, I was blocked on SOcial Media). I lapped it up like the eager doormat I was. She went cold on me again in Feb, started dating another new guy, which lasted another few months. Recycle for a month in July, and was very upfront and cold about it being purely physical. I told her that was really hard as i obviously still loved her. She told me she was "figuring herself out, and was blissfully unattached". I missed her, our home, our dogs, our family. She knew it. She slow faded me through August, and I stopped reaching out. October of last year rolled around, and I shot her a message, I was curious, still hurt, and lonely. She told me she met someone new, he made her SO HAPPY, and that i shouldn't reach out anymore. I said Okay, and didn't. I sent a very business-like, typed, letter in early Nov, asking for the last of my belongings back. That was all that was in the letter. Her new BF texted me and was a vulgar, crass machismo tough guy. Couldn't articulate a full sentence, but was basically telling me to "leave them alone, give up, stop bothering them" I was confused and told him I hadn't reached out since Oct and Wasnt planning to, especially after that awful conversation. Months of peace and healing began. Then, as I was living my life, back in Jan, I got more angry texts from him, this time about some mail that had shown up with my name on it (i had no idea). Again i was accused of reaching out, being a stalker, all sorts of nonsense. I again told him I didn't care, and that if he reached out like this again I would take needed steps, blocked him, and went on with life. Then, it happened AGAIN about 2 weeks ago. I got a call from her number, which I didn't answer, then a stream of angry texts, inviting me to go fight him, him threatining me, accusing me of having been abusive of her (she said the same thing to me about her ex) him telling me how much of a "B***h and a P***Y, and a loser" he has be told I am. He bragged that he "put a ring on it". I had to laugh at that one, (good luck dude) again I said, last straw, if i hear from you again, Im calling the cops. I dont care, go away etc. I haven't heard anything since. However she did reach out to my SIL the day after, about something totally random, and they hadnt spoken in ages, but had been very close when we were together. So odd.
Here are the points I want to address. 1. Serial Monogamy. - Can they ever be alone? like, EVER?

1. Cognitive Dissonance - It took me SO LONG to realize that the person I fell in love with, and STAYED in love with way too long was simply a smokescreen. Then during the breakups, I feel sooooo "less than" to be replaced by obvious downgrades. However, only recently, I've truly come to understand that All of the "In love" versions of her are equally fake, and uniquely cultivated for each new man. The person I loved was never real, i think it just felt "realer" to me, because were together longer, and we were what felt like, a perfect match. The argumentative, manipulative, callous and unscrupulous person i knew at the end of relationships was the real her. I thought that was the broken, backside of her perfect shining coin all along. Nope. Other way around.
   
2. Serial Recycles - She doesn't do this with every guy, so why did she do it with me? (although, I think I've seen the last of the recycle attempts, and I wouldn't participate in them at this point either.
   
3. Patterns - Has anyone else had a partner that is very sensitive to things like changing seasons, seasonal depression, or even erratic behavior near the full moon? All of these things applied to her, and one could almost set a calendar to her flighty moods and outbursts.
   
4. Projection, Smear campaign, and re-writing history - All the awful things she told Newguy, (whom i dont know and have never met) to make him hate me so much, but I fell victim to the same mind games about her ex before me. I can't understand what they see as profit for triangulation though. That part has always confused me greatly. What is to be gained by doing this? What's more is that I think she actually ends up believing these smear lies she makes up to crap on her ex, in order to praise the newguy. Then there are all the arguments that were entirely my fault, despite being very conveniently timed for her, and very manufactured feeling.
   

So again, sorry for length. Have any of you had similar experiences? Are these like, default BPD behaviors? Everyday I look back, and am equally amazed that I remained blind for so long, that I let this be done to me, and scariest of all, the "boiling frog" circumstances under which it happened, and progressed without my noticing it.
I can even now, say, knowing all I do, that she is very smart, charismatic, and so convincing. I've heard her brag about how she can manipulate co-workers and subordinates, friends and family. The flags were there all along, but would'nt you know? red flags are hard to see while wearing rose colored glasses.

Bought a used odyssey. No keyfob and no owners manual. Went to get in today and the key wouldn’t unlock the drivers door. Had AAA come and get me in and the van starts but won’t shift out of park. Nav system and radio are asking for for a code. I am under the impression I can call Honda but I need a serial number. The serial number is not in the glove box. Any way I can get the serial without pulling the stereo, or is there another way to reset the security system? Thanks in advance.

So I got a IBM System x 3650 m2 Server a while ago, bought it off marketplace. The thing is, I can’t do anything. The bios has an admin password and the seller doesn’t know it anymore. Is there a workaround for this? I have access to the imm though if that helps somehow. To the server: No dvd/cd drive No disk drive
What I already tried: booting via usb stick in the usb slot for the disk drive. Taking the bios battery out. Looking in the handbook. Using the serial number as password (with and without „IBM-„ in front of it, capital and no capital.
Boot is not working atm, every bootoption ends in fail.

I'll keep this really simple, I sold a mac pro online, Was sent to Portland Oregon and received by signature 11 days ago. Person contacts me yesterday to say there's a lock on it and it's a company computer. This is not true, i got it from a points system through a company i do business with for free, it came to me sealed in the box, i used it for a month, literally just used it to watch some movies on a trip, decided i wasn't using it alot otherwise and really needed some extra cash so i thought I'd offload it as i got it for free.
I already factory reset it and it was ready to go, but the guy contacts me showing me an Amazon log in screen for employees and says it's a bad computer. He then proceeds to tell me he knows a place that can unlock it for$200. I'm very suspicious so i fight it, he sends me a very small pic of the back of the computer conforming the serial number, to prove its the same. I receive no large pictures of the laptop.
We then decided after much back and forth that he's sending it back for a refund. I'm terrified he's sending me a locked computer in its place and I'll have to refund him... What can i do??

It's all thanks to some videos from Inside Edition's YouTube Channel.All these videos Inside Edition posted are developing a question in my mind that's getting the better of me: ~why so much hate on the female human - even as children?~ Like, why do they censor the little girl's chest? Can't anybody learn to appreciate the appearance of the female body?
And ~what's the big deal with nipples?~ I'm just trying to ensure everyone is treated equally regardless of race, and gender... AND age (after what I just witnessed). And if no one's gonna speak up about this, I might as well step up to the plate. After all, somebody's got to do it!
That little girl in the final video made two non-verbal messages clear: one: if a boy can do it, then so can a girl! And two: no one is too young for anything! As long as you have the knowledge capacity and I.Q level to do it properly and safely, you'll be fine. I was able to refuel my dad's car and cook my own dinner when I was 6 and without setting anything ablaze by accident.
However, when I try to illustrate with that video, even though Inside Edition is an official news channel, the responses I get back are rather ~bitter!~ They remove my post or ban me from the sites I post on for "promoting nudity involving a minor"!

Due to my autism, I only know basic English. So I need to illustrate to get most of my messages through. I thought hard, I tried, and low and behold, they were removed hours later mainly because they "didn't fit the subject of the forum". Even though my multi-subject based thread does have some material relating to this forum's topic. These sites and mods are all really stretching my problem solving skills beyond the breaking point for this one. I'm merely protesting with these pictures and videos as illustration. I'm not that good with words, so I need pictures to get half my messages across as noted above.
Many subreddits or forum sites don’t accept URLs, pictures, specific website URLs, or even a combination! Thereby hindering my ability to fully explain what I’m witnessing! In this case, the sentences “It’s one thing to say a girl’s outfit is ‘too revealing’, it’s two things to photoshop out a girl’s cleavage to make her look ‘modest’ for a yearbook.” actually corresponded to several videos I beared witness to on Inside Edition’s YouTube channel.
I actually tried to post that URL with that blurred 9yo girl in a subreddit in the past and you won’t believe this: I actually lost my reddit account for 2 days for “promoting nudity involving a minor”! Other sites like the adult video forums who accept uncensored nudity-based images I mentioned just delete my thread! Another site I recall banned me for 1 year for “spam” - even though I only made this protest post twice (after they removed it once).
So that meant I had to approach this from a different angle: after that experience, I got a little paranoid from using that said video URL to illustrate. So I tried explaining this protest without the URLs - and this is in conjunction with certain sites restricting my ability to post images, URLs, certain site URLs, or a combination. It seemed to end up making things worse! Because without the visual evidence, it makes it much harder to fully explain what I’m witnessing.
So without the URLs included - that visual illustration, on the sites I tried along with Lemmy World, it actually made things worse! That’s what lead Lemmy.World mods to ban me for life for “CSAM” or made other people think I watched child porn when I clearly didn’t. The lack of visual evidence (due to my past reddit experience combined with the site’s posting restrictions) is what lead to this “pedophile” confusion. So please help me talk some sense into the Lemmings world, Lemmy.ml, and Lemmy.world mods that this was all a major misunderstanding and Lemmy is pretty much the only reddit alternative out here where I can try asking another question. My attempt to appeal has failed on 3 sites - even after I tried notifying the mods on the third Lemmy server site before making the post, so I need your help now!
I felt after Inside Edition uploaded that blurred 9yo girl video… I thought to myself “That’s the last straw!” Someone needs to protest these absurd censorship laws that they apply to the female human!

Children should have the same… rights to do things as any adult! It’s about possessing the knowledge capacity and I.Q level to safely execute this action. I’m not joking around here! This type of treatment towards the female human needs to stop - this includes race and age. - It’s like racist people, but in age form.
Does it look like I’m laughing for fun? Of course not! Since no one else is protesting this, and YouTube has a flawed comment moderating system hindering my ability to post on even random videos (I.E, "ghosting"), I have to take more drastic measures to protest by stepping up to the plate and shouting out “Can’t we all be equal in terms of a huge variety of traits?” Yeah, the last thing I need is a vein-bleeding broken-record robot impeding or hindering my ability to seek answers to a question!
We need to learn to appreciate or accept how the female body appears regardless of race and age! Stop trying to blame it all on me! None of the stuff in the vids posted, is that. If it was, Inside Edition would be the guilty party, and Youtube for not having already deleted them. If it doesn’t violate Youtube’s TOS, it should be fine to post anywhere. If there was even a hint of impropriety to it, at the minimum the vid would have been age restricted.
No one would answer! Not even Inside Edition themselves were willing to offer an answer when I even found their email address, the sites dedicated to helping those in mental, suicidal, or emotional distress (those forum sites even PERMA-banned me for "spam" - that's right, SPAM! (Even though ~there was absolutely no mention of a permanent ban or rule about "spam" in their forum guidelines!~) Is that the definition of "spam" when I make a bad thread only once?! And when I try to appeal the ban, the same message "please contact the administrator if it was done in error" is blocking my ability to click the contact button! Or sometimes it's a blank white page with that message in the top left corner of the window! - Which adds more insult to injury, because I can't click anything as all the buttons have disappeared! That means I can't log out of that site either!), OR the adult video forums that support uncensored nudity images would accept that video link URL let alone the entire topic itself! So ~I really am at a loss for thoughts and words on what I just experienced!~ Heck, I even tried the professional therapists of talkingforchange.ca But even they too were too reluctant to talk as they claim my post regarding the censorship of women is not for their platform and they disconnected the chat 2 seconds after their last reply to me. And I highly doubt that ANY site will allow me to illustrate with a picture of the Napalm Girl (Phan Thi Kim Phuc) when she was 9, certain pictures of Pampers diaper boxes, Leela when she was an infant in the episode Leela's Homeworld, or even Belgium's famous kids: Manneken Pis/Jeanneke Pis. That, combined with ~YouTube having a flawed comment moderating system hindering my ability to post comments on certain-to-random videos (I.E, "ghosting")~, I'm forced to take more drastic measures to get my messages across.
But here's a strange catch: sometimes on some sites, Napalm Girl is censored, other sites she isn't. So I felt that I need to protest this.It seems everyone is too chicken to even start this subject! Don't these numbskulls know not to judge a book by it's cover?! This is where I ask myself "NOW WHAT?!". This can't be one of those "exceptional" cases where they say "suicide never solves anything" doesn't apply to these types of situations. In other words, all hope for resolving these types of situations ~really is lost~. I really do feel left in the dark on both the subject of sound effects and nudity!
Once more, I'm not being a ped, I'm protesting all these absurd censorship rules and regulations that revolve around the female human - regardless of race and age - after what Inside Edition posted. Watch the videos I found again for clarification. In other words, the inconsistencies of female human censorship.
Can you really - you know, hurl insults at Inside Edition or blast them for what they did? It was their idea to publicly publish the footage. Just like how that one photographer made the choice to publicly publish footage of the Napalm Girl when she was 9 and completely nude. Therefore, it should be ok to share this footage anywhere.
But some areas censored Napalm Girl's nipples, but others did not - excluding her groin. Then there's the diaper boxes I found in any supermarket. And finally... Surprise surprise: typical women being scolded by other people for wearing something "inappropriate" or "showing too much of their body". I look around and since no one else is protesting about this, I might as well do it! After all, someone's gotta step up to the plate to hit that ball! I will not sit idling by the sidelines and continue to watch the female human get treated/censored like this! I will step up, stand up, and speak out towards these absurd reactions, rules, and regulations that revolve around the appearance and censorship of the female body!

I see a lot of posts here and on other forums regarding the difficulty of the final bosses people are encountering on their first run of the game. I found it irritating for a bunch of reasons at first, but dumping the dead weight from my party and spending a few of the Free Red Battles to shore up my party was enough to push past and REALLY start getting into the meat of what will make Emerald Beyond remembered so fondly. This guide is written about 72 hours after the game was out, so much of this may age poorly or have a bunch more nuance as people play the game the more.
I poked around discussions and found some common sticking points that gel with my own issues on the final boss. The final boss scales with Battle Rank pretty well, which is unusual for a SaGa game. I don't know the exact Battle Rank mechanics, but my guess is that your first time reaching the final boss, other than sudden early game encounters, your highest weapon Skill will be somewhere between 9 and 15. Most SaGa games have giant difficulty cliffs before the Final Boss when they don't scale with BR, leaving a massive broken endgame grind. This simply does not exist here, which makes me regard EB as a lot more fair.
Some of the things to remember about the extremely deep battle system.

• AVOID THE PRE/POST-ATTACK BLOCKS: The "Tackle" move used by some adds has an extremely strong Block that is active until it the enemy acts. If you're doing combos or hitting them with Big BP moves, do it after they've acted for the turn. Or, more easily, use Interrupts. Interrupts, particularly the low-cost ones, are substantially more powerful than they were in SSG, and interrupts in general either Ignore Block, Ignore Defense, or the Pre-Action Block of the enemies disabled during Interrupts.
• MAKE THEM WASTE BP: One of the keys of the battle system is to make the enemy waste their BP by killing enemies before they act, or by stunning them. When an enemy is Casting, it is going to be easy to make them waste their BP because you have 2 turns to kill them instead of one. Stun chance is increased against enemies that are low on HP (this is in the Tips section). A nuance of this is that there is some value to NOT killing an enemy, and instead finishing them off with an Interrupt only after they have spent BP on a later turn.
• DISRUPT ENEMY COMBOS: A ton of the new features in EB relative to SSG follow from the change to the combo system. Interrupts and Pursuits specifically let you jump before/after enemies in what would have been an enemy combo.
• MAKE GOOD COMBOS: The Roles that boost your Combo % build are really good. So are the Support Position bonuses. 1H weapons build Combo better than 2H weapons. Combo % is bigger the more Green Space your combo is acting over. Killing an enemy that is going to act (but not with an Interrupt?) "Steals" their combo territory and turns it Green, AND gives you a big boost to raw %. Combos may trigger Overdrives if above 150% (above that increases the odds of triggering or the number of party members acting in it), and Overdrives may themselves trigger more Overdrives.
• AVOID ENEMY STATUS AILMENTS AND STUNS: Learn what enemy attacks stun, and note moves that have weird splits where party members before the enemy on the timeline are hit with one attack while the party members after get hit with a weaker status ailment attack.
• SHOWSTOPPERS: Once the adds are out of the way, make your own 2H characters do Showstoppers while preventing the Final Boss Showstoppers. The pool uses your Unused BP, with the final move usually being a powerful move off of 1BP or something. There's a lot of value with having a good slate of moves that let you shuffle your characters around to trigger a Showstopper, a Combo, and preventing the boss Showstopper all in the same turn. This is a really good way to slather the final boss with debuffs, too.
• ATTACK/DEFENSE DEBUFFS: Sometimes, the Final Boss starts with three stacks of -Attack. Other phases may have no initial Debuff. Get the -Attack and -Defense Debuffs ASAP!
• EPHEMERALS: Ephemerals fucking suck and are totally at odds with the LP system. Once LP runs out, you need to win a fight before they come back, so if you Reattempt, you may just be down a party member for the rest of your runs on the Final Boss until you reload. I think the gameplay of BE is impeccably designed, but Ephemerals are a return of SaGa Jank.
• MONSTERS: When you learn a Tech from an enemy but them Unleash it... your Tech is still learned. You can re-equip them. The value of being fused into an item is the stat bonus, but the skill is there. Monsters kind of suck due to their poor access to Roles.
• MECHS: Mechs Good and are easy to bring off the bench. Slap on some good gear, make sure you have a good spread of BP costs and speeds (Blade, Quickblade, Multiblade are a good spread of staples that come from many common weapons.

-UPGRADE GEAR: You shouldn't be using the entry gear, and should probably have a good mix of Tier 2 (basic+1) and Tier 3 (upgraded-type +1) gear. Once you are kind of past Spirit Stones, trade stacks (like, 10-20) to get further materials. This is a common sticking point but I don't think it is make or break.

• ELEMENTAL ENEMIES: The little element rock faces are weak to elemental damage. Fire/Lightning/Ice is shown in one of those triangles on the left side of the weapon tab. Use them for the critical bonus (which I think also contributes to Combo %?)

I'll likely add or revise this as I think of more key tips.

First of all, I'm mostly going to talk with thoughts of NE vs UD/HU/Orc matchup at the pro scene. I am a NE player so I could be biased but overall, I do want this game to feel fair at the pro scene. I don't want 1 race dominating all the time in pro scene.

• Priestess of The Moon Searing Arrow damage changed to 10/24/40 to 12/24/48 (10/20/30)
• Priestess of The Moon Starfall duration reduced from 45 to 30
• Priestess of The Moon Starfall damage increased from 50 to 60 per wave
• Keeper of the Grove Force of Nature mana cost reduced from 100 to 85
• Vorpal Blades research time reduced from 60 to 45 seconds
• Moon Well Regeneration increased from 1.35 to 1.45
• Well Spring regeneration mana bonus reduced from 125 to 100
• Mountain Giant food reduction reverted (6 back to 7)
• Wisps have at least 5 more hp ("at least" == could be more).
  • I don't understand why an extremely cheap skeletal warrior can 1 hit + level 1 coil a worker. Elf right now is the most wood expensive race. At pro scene, if you lose 2 wisps, it's already notable disadvantage vs UD. Over 2 and the pro scene game can feel over. Why does this mechanic even exist in the game? How come I can't come to UD base and even kill 1 ghoul? Peasants also got HP buff. Peons have burrows.

PoTM changes are fine as is really. It's only going to mean more PoTM mirror. But I did a strikethrough because so many people here just see the number of lines of buffs and cries instead about "look how many buffs NE gets". Let's be real. Half the buffs are PoTM lines and that has no effect on non-mirror matchups.
Just because of so many people whining I am putting there so I don't get blamed in the future.
As for:

Just another 'useless' line for overall game balance. I love how Lawliet put it in his stream: "even if Vorpal Blade is 10 second, I would never use it in pro scene"
Just another line of excuse viewers can use to say "look, Elf got massive buffs!" Except these lines of buffs are irrelevant to the 1v1 game balance? I'm all for it but I'm just strike through-ing it so people don't throw pitchforks at me.
As for:

• Keeper of the Grove Force of Nature mana cost reduced from 100 to 85

I understand the reasoning. UD is randomly getting a tier 2 purge Keeper item in the game. Wand of negation does 200 damage no cooldown 2 charges. Vs other races, it doesn't mean much (as summons like water elementals have a lot of HP). But it has a noticeable impact on an already losing hero (Keeper) vs UD. Keeper is a glorified archer after level 3.2 vs UD.
Keeper right at tier 2 needs level 3 to either:

1. Level 2 treants to help creep 2nd hero
2. Level 2 entangle to kill 2 ghouls

The problem with Keeper is treants have very low HP. And treants are clunky and all get summoned on one spot. And also needs to be in one spot to have 2nd hero creep. The current wand for 150 gold essentially removes either 6 treants or save 2 ghouls (and instead, Elf gets 2 more coils on Keeper).
UD route:

1. UD dispels 3 treants instantly with dispel and removes the 67% of all treants instantly. Elf 2nd hero cannot creep now and UD gets free 3 summon exp tomes. Do this twice and free 6 summon exp tomes while Elf 2nd hero cannot creep.
2. UD saves 2 ghouls with 2 rods. That's 240 gold units saved for UD. And 2 coils to Keeper instead which is greater aggressive value than 150 gold mana potion. Keeper needs 150 gold potion + moon juice. And also, Keeper lost over 150 mana potion worth of mana for this.

In eitheboth scenarios, Keeper as a hero is essentially removed from the game vs UD. And the problem now holds for maps like Tidehunter which Elf at pro scene feels pressured to open Keeper. Tidehunter map is already a very UD favored map.
The wand of negation is a huge nerf to Keeper in Keeper vs UD and Keeper already loses in the MU.
Then why did I cross 100 mana to 85 mana for Force of Nature? Mostly because of worries vs HU. I want a fair game overall at pro scene. I mean well often unlike many UD players who genuinely want as close to 100% winrate in pro scene for UD vs NE.
Instead:

• Since Keeper just explodes vs UD, what if Keeper has further Attack Range? So 650 range instead of 600 attack range? Only considering this if the ROC item 'Wand of Negation' is somehow added (massive balance headache).
  • Or change its stats to be useful after level 3. Needs more HP to be quite frank.
• What if UD shop has mechanical critter instead? Helps with skeletals. Why are we introducing a ROC item to TFT? Heck, an UD mechanical critter would be hilarious/fun to watch. If want to make it a fun tier 2 item, why not a flying mechanical critter.
  • Wand is a HUGE nerf vs Crypt Lord mirror too. An already underused hero. Screw Crypt Lord players?
  • Wand is a great nerf vs Keeper who already loses the MU.
  • Wand is also a great nerf vs Firelord (just spam 2 dispel right away in first spawn and Firelord is a glorified archer)

Absolute changes that must not go through (in my opinion):

• Curse can now target mechanical units
  • Do we want to remove balance of HU from pro scene vs UD just like we essentially removed UD vs Elf in pro scene for over half a decade? Absolutely should not go through. Banshees would then counter everything HU has except breakers. And with this change, UD would have more banshees than usual which is even more of a considerable nerf vs Knights (all those possess).

Undead

• Shade is 2 food level 2 unit
  • Shade is already essentially free and extremely difficult to detect. For races against Elf, it's basically maphack. And for races against Orc in pro scene, it leads to Orc not having the right answer in time (since making Spirit Lodge in the timing is not feasible due to wood cost as not every race has ghouls). And it also really devalues creativity of maps as shades are way too big of an advantage in larger maps in the game (maphack that is almost impossible to scout for certain races like NE in large maps like TM is ... really unfair in a strategy game)
  • Ideally, shade should behave like Starcraft 2 invisible units which has some trace of movement. However, I am presuming this is not realistic with the current game.
  • UD already has the best overall scouting unit in game for competitive 1v1. It's called skeletals. In pro scene, Orc doesn't have much information while UD has perfect information. This is information asymmetry in a strategy game. And now a shade on top?
  • The best/worst part is shade is practically free. Let alone the fact sacrificial pit can be unsummoned immediately afterwards.
• Gargoyles 'melee unit' range reduced from 300 to 250.
  • Gargoyles have been getting ridiculous buffs over the patches. In the past, Elf would staff panda and maybe get a breath of fire in after losing wisps. Now, Elf just loses wisps and the gargs are out of the map from the tree line. That kind of 'free snipe workers all day' gameplay is not healthy for the game.
  • Gargoyle melee range impacts none of the other matchups. vs HU, gargoyles are mostly for vsing flying machines (air). Vs Orc, gargoyles are mostly vsing wind riders (air).
• Ghouls 120 gold to 130 gold.
  • Ghoul already beats an archer (130 gold). Ghoul also is better than 2 workers (60 wisp * 2 = 120 gold). Why is this unit so efficient at everything?
  • Ghouls also have ridiculous regeneration due to blight, unholy, dark ritual dagger, statue, cannibalize. Footmen is 135 gold and HU is forced to buy regen scroll to heal each time unlike ghouls which you just rotate for free due to blight.
  • UD also already has skeletal rod which I personally think should be 3 charges.
• Mostly for Orc players at pro scene: Do something to lower the movement speed of ghouls. Lyn looks so hopeless and lost vs double crypt ghouls. The ghouls just clog up the fight and move too fast so none of Orc units can pass through.
  • But at same time, we can't have fiend meta vs Orc because Blademaster is too efficient vs larger hp food units. So there needs to be some middle ground. Blademaster today however is way too poor vs low hp spamming zerg-like units. I don't even know what changes ghoul needs at this point to address this issue. We have a starcraft unit (ghoul = zergling) in a warcraft game.
• Logical bug in game: Unsummon building should be taxed just like every other thing in game like item selling.
  • Also, unsummon made sense back in 1.26 because UD could not expand. But now that UD can expand, this feature really only exists because "it looks cool". But in terms of gold/wood advantage, it's unfair in pro scene. I am not asking for removal because many people would be mad but I am requesting however that the game be more consistent. Everyone gets taxed when selling items. Why are buildings exempt from this?

Orc

• Increase mirror image time. Why does the best summon unit in game which scales with items and levels have only 3 second cooldown? Move this up.
  • Mirror image does damage in the game now. And items stack on top of stacking stats with blademaster. It's also a get out of jail free card.
• Nerf serpent wards damage of level 3.
  • You can summon 6 to the field at any given moment. 200 hp each so 1200 hp. It does up to 53 piercing damage and piercing vs NE in the current meta does 150% damage to hunts. That means, each serpent ward does 80 damage to hunts. You can have 6 serpent wards so 480 damage per volley. Outright stupidity.
  • Nerf the damage and/or cooldown. Level 3 stats are absolutely moronic.

That's my take overall. I hope this balance patch will finally address many of the issues of the game at pro scene. And make the game more fun for everyone.
I have been following UD vs Orc and honestly, it's stupid how strong ghouls and shades are vs Lyn. Lyn cannot do anything against Happy because of those 2 units.
Also, please do not let curse work on mechanical units. I don't want UD to destroy HU. I want a more fair game at competitive scene.

I went through the book and it’s a little hardcore for what I’m looking for, but it gave some good insight into how to make your life more secure and private. I’d love to discuss elements of this book all day long. I’ll admit a lot of the technical aspects were a lot for me - I’m not looking to disappear or don’t want anything to find me. But I did find something’s I’m trying to tackle that I had a couple of questions on.

• I reread the email part a few times and his recommendation of using Proton Mail. I’m already familiar with PM so I’m thinking of creating an account so I can also leverage aliases to manage all the companies that ask for emails. Yahoo has been breached a few times in the past few years and as he makes mention, of someone was to hack into mine, they’d probably find a trove of info they can piece together. Who I bank with, user names, etc. and Yahoo has been temperamental for me. Sometimes email never gets sent or disappears, so migrating to PM makes sense to me. What I’m confused by is the mail and aliases. In the free PM you get one email and 10 aliases. I’m unclear if you are able to forward your other a mail accounts to your Proton. In the book, he talks about setting up 5 emails - one using your real name, one an alias, and another for newsletters, etc. But I get confused between a regular email and alias. In the Proton Mail + you get 10 emails and then a number of aliases. When he uses this example, is he saying create separate emails or just aliases? And am I interpreting it correctly that only PM+ allows you to forward mail from Yahoo or Gmail. I got lost in this section, especially when he was talking about creating aliases with SimpleLogin.
  
• In removing your name, address and other details from info aggregators like Spokeo, I thought I read an article of his before that recommended creating a separate email to do that. But when I read the book, it doesn’t make mention of that. It actually seems to make sense to just use your regular email to request your information be scrubbed. Is there any advantage to creating a whole new email specifically to do this?
  
• Credit freezes. I don’t know why I’ve never done this, because it seems painfully easy. With the three main credit bureaus it looks like you have to create an account and can freeze and unfreeze credit from there. Only one of the bureau, I can’t remember, which one, talks about freezing and unfreezing instantaneously. Do they all do that? I would prefer not do download another three apps, it would make se se I could do that from a web based account.
