In this sub I see the statement “you can’t compare trauma, all of the girls were treated poorly often.” It’s normally used in the context of Maddie v. the rest of the cast as a means to validate the negative aspects of Maddie’s time at aldc / on DM. I find this to be super similar to “all lives matter” or something lighter “I think we all sing” (lol).
The truth is you can compare trauma. There are people in the world who have had it much worse than others. And there’s nothing wrong with admitting that.
The problem with comparing trauma is that it often serves no use, and more often than not exists as a conduit to invalidate others.
It’s clear that the show was toxic—it had a negative impact on everyone on it. That said, the truth is that some girls on that show DID have it worse than others. And I’m not even speaking to Maddie v. anyone else.

I’m not trying to bash Biden and Harris, and will be voting for them a second time soon… The White House appears to have used misdirection and some fancy pants doublespeak to publicly deny it. Here’s how it really works:
We provide “safer smoking kits” to drug users at no cost to them. What the funding bill and resulting grants said is that we, the harm reductionists who run programs, get to decide what goes in to our kits. Technically, they’re not lying. So yeah, let me tell you how the White House is able to honestly say that they don’t fund crack pipe distribution.
Our crack kits don’t technically contain assembled crack pipes… In order to make a crack pipe, a user has to put the screen or Brillo pad (we provide both) in the glass stem in order for it to meet the legal definition of “crack pipe”. It takes about ten seconds to assemble one, and we give them out usually about 5 at a time, depending on how much crack a person smokes. The max I’ve ever given out was 50, to a guy who had an eighth a day habit and was pretty damn wealthy. They get to choose, and they understand that our stock is limited, so they only take what they need. We don’t ask for names or IDs. It doesn’t matter if you’re broke or a millionaire, we serve all drug users and the people who surround them.
Our kits aren’t just EZ-Build crack pipes; we give them lip balm (as crack pipes can get very hot with obsessive use or if it’s being used by multiple people), little wood pusher sticks which help them use crack more efficiently, rubber mouthpieces which prevent burns and disease spread, new lighters, and a few other knick nacks.
We give everyone narcan as well, so they can save their opioid user friends should one get a bag of dope that’s heavy on the fentanyl. We dispose of sharps containers, and we make our clients promise to use them to minimize needle stick injuries. We have contracts with a medical waste company, as do all other needle exchange programs.
My ultimate point here is that HELL YES WE GIVE OUT CRACK PIPES THAT ARE FUNDED BY TAX DOLLARS, and we save lives by doing it. That’s not just a bold claim; harm reduction has been studied, a lot (in part because young liberals going in to allied or public health hear the bizarre and ostensibly false things that some ultraconservatives say about harm reduction and love proving them insane using actual large sample scientific studies), and continues to be studied at the most reputable colleges you can find.

Hey guys, so I'll try and explain this as best I can. I've put up some "shiplap" wood planks on my basement walls and had recently gotten into staining them. Unfortunately, apparently I didn't shake the stain well enough on the first run because the second iteration of staining is noticeably darker. I tried staining over the lighter-colored areas but that did ass-all as I'm sure you expected.
Tried using a grinding wheel with sanding pads, that's just not gonna work, the stain is gumming up the pads and otherwise I don't have five years to get this done. The planks are good and well brad-nailed up and aren't coming off for man or god, otherwise I'd run them through my Dewalt planer again and take the surface off.
What's my best bet here to quickly remove just enough material to get through to bare wood again? Electric hand planer maybe? I'm currently bought into the Dewalt 20V Max battery system.

Okay, I’m starting to remember now, I knocked out in the middle of the third quarter in Game 3 between the Timberwolves and Nuggets. Admittedly, I was already high as hell while watching, but could you blame me? What an awful performance last night, I was already losing hope by the end of the first half. I’m looking at these stats and I’m wondering how Mike Conley even managed to get more rebounds than Rudy. They didn’t have their head in the game
Honestly thought that today was a Sunday until around 12 PM. It’s easier to think that when you were smoking all morning. I hardly ever smoke earlier in the day, once I start sobering up, it starts leaving me kinda hazy. Thankfully, I was coming off of that as I was heading to work.
I clocked in at 4 PM, didn’t have anything too crazy for work today. It was a wedding reception for 50, wasn’t a really huge one, but hey, it all pays the same.
The only specific instructions that I was given is that I place the food out at a specific time span. I thought it was a stupid idea since it would mean that people wont have anything to eat after awhile. We usually just refill everything up until it’s all gone, this is just some unnecessary shit. And they end up changing their minds about it too once people complained.
I was mostly bored throughout the event. I guess it’s a good thing that it’s making me bored, shows how much this job has gotten easy for me. I helped out my brother set up some events we got later this week. It’s going to be some bullshit those days, but I’m trying to have some hope that it wouldn’t be.
Once the event was over at 10 PM, I started shutting this shit down. I wasn’t trying to stay here longer than I should’ve. I was asking the hosts if I could help box away their dessert or remove their decorations, they think I was being helpful, but I just didn’t want to miss my bus. I wasn’t going to wait a half hour for the next bus.
Unfortunately, they kept on dancing even after a half hour after the event was over. I didn’t bother asking any of my supervisors because they weren’t going to say shit about them overstaying since they’re spineless. And I can’t say shit myself because then they’d ask for someone above me so it’s no fucking use. My brother and I just asked for a coworker of ours to do us a favor by just heading down in the event space at 11 PM to just take all the dirty glasses and lock it up in a room so that my brother could clean it tomorrow. That’s how we get away with not having to stay when guests pull this kind of shit.
I wish there was a fee set in place for guests to deal with when they overstay, but this ain’t that kind of hotel. Even though it should be, we’re literally in one of the best spots to have a hotel at in the entire state, but these fuckers don’t like money it seems. So why do I still work here? I’m looking for some insight from fellow restaurant owners. We’re exploring a software idea aimed at simplifying the ordering process with distributors. The goal is to create a tool that allows restaurant owners to place orders with just a click, eliminating the need for phone calls and emails. Instead of making calls and sending emails to each distributor to order more and restock, you could just "refill" each item with one click and it would automatically place that order for you. We would also offer more distributors that you could quickly shop for a change (price, location, quality preferences.) Additionally, it would sync with an inventory system to provide real-time updates (when a customer purchases, inventory is reduced X amount, and when a new delivery arrives, inventory is increased X amount). We also think we can build a tool that helps project future sales to help avoid waste, shortages etc.
Does this sound like a solution to a real pain point for you? Would such a tool add value to your daily operations? Would this get rid of some headache? I’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences on managing distributor orders and inventory. Any feedback, positive or negative, would be greatly appreciated!

Hey everyone Firstly, I'd like to apologize for my poor writing, as english is not my first language.
So, basically, I'm drawing and looking for a collab with a writer.
No money involved (and if later on, this even need to come to the table, then we'd split evenly, but right now I feel far from this, and just want to gather experience and level up/have fun with someone), only passion and the need to make something good, at least really try our best too.
I'm now past 40 (good to know, because, as open as I am, chances are that I'd get along better with someone that's not too young, so we can focus on more mature characters, even if anything goes in the end, as long as it's good. I just don't feel like drawing the usual school settings), and I've been drawing on and off my whole life, but never seriously. I probably picked up something from it, but right now my drawing are really baby level. I'm ADHD (probably ?) and can't finish something by myself. I did finish projects in other settings tho : I also do music and been doing some short movies. I just need someone to exchange idea, brainstorm, and finalize the writing so there's a road to follow in the end.

starting last May, I get daily flushing / blood pooling , it happens in my hands , feet, knees, nose, cheeks, and ears. the affected area gets warm to very hot and somewhat or a lot swollen. if you pinch the affected area it turns white and quickly back to red. running the affected body part in cold water can help, and some body parts like hands and feet are alleviated by elevating them in the air. long story short , I developed weird HR issues after covid Dec 2022, got tested for a lot of things, including echo, holter, ANA, thyroid, hormones, and a lot of other stuff. was given a beta blocker in march, and then these symptoms developed very quickly in May. the beta blocker makes my BP 90/60-105/65, before was always 120/80, and it lowers my resting HR to about 60. it also makes my extremities very cold most of the time.
So at first I thought this might be a weird side effect of the beta blocker, then perhaps a sort of rebound Raynaud's refilling thing due to the lack of blood flow normally in my extremities from the BB, then I wondered if its possibly neuropathy caused by poor blood flow from the BB. I have searched MCAS/histamine issues, and Erythromelagia which I've seen a lot of posts on both forums that match a lot of my issues. I've also read beta blockers can cause mast cell issues leading to histamine intolerance . and that beta blockers can cause excessive vasodilation . thats basically all the ideas ive come up with in my own research on what the heck is going on. For the first 6 months of these flares, it was almost exclusively my hands, ears nose and cheeks, and only rarely my feet or knees , but for the last 6 months one or both feet will flare almost daily , and my knees happen much more frequently. its clear that blood is pooling in these flares , especially in my hands and feet as the veins will bulge , feel swollen etc.
here's a typical day My nose flushes first sometime between 10-11am, and it subsides around 1pm. my cheeks flush around 11:30am and subside around 1pm.One or both ears will flush sometime around 9pm til 11pmMy fingers flush around 9pm til 11pm, or earlier if agitated from typing or another activityThose parts are pretty much guaranteed every single dayOn top of that,Hand(s) / finger(s) can flare at any point between 1-11pm, some days not at all, but usually will from typing, or hiding my phone, holding a video game controller etcMy nose may flush again at any point between 5-9pmOne or both feet (usually just one) will flush sometime between 2-3pm 6 and 7pm, lasts 2-3 hoursMost flushing lasts 1-3 hours id say.One or both can flare in the middle of the nightAlso my flaring for my hands and feet can be full blown, the entire body part , or just a section , like the bottom of my heel, the top 4 toes, just 3 fingers etc.All of these body parts can be triggered by heat exposure, or activity of the affected body part but many times it can happen for no parent reason, in fact many times I get this falling and blooding pooling in my feet and knees while I am laying down on couch and have been fro some time .When my feet flare , I usually run them under cold water and then lay down for an hour or two with my feet propped up very high, and when my feet are propped up they can look almost completely normal but within second of having them down , sitting or standing, they will return to veins bulging, very red, swollen, hot etc.
I have also been on a very restricted diet the las year and have lost a good 50 pounds, and I wonder if I might have a protein deficiency as I read that can cause blood to leak out of vessels and cause similar issues. perhaps its a combo of a number of the things going on with me. I was also tested for POTS due to my HR issues after covid, it was negative but my EP who treats pots people said I am very pots like . but having asked and browsed the pots forums, the way my blood pooling happens is not like any other pots person I can find. anyone who has ideas or thoughts would be greatly appreciated, I'm at my whits end here , I can work through most of the flares but the flares/blood pooling in my feet and knees are very debilitating, it hurts to remain upright and just makes the flare worse, so I need to lay down with feet high for several hours.

Apologies for the long post but I'm pretty much over medical personnel at the moment and I'm frustrated. I've had a severe cough that began in December. I've had it at least once a month since then. By severe I mean I have random coughing fits that result in me either urinating on myself or vomiting on myself. Lately it's been both. Seems to be brought on by the slightest cold. I have a daughter in daycare so while illness is not uncommon, this is a bit extreme. It's normally coupled with a sinus infection.
I went to urgent care in December and was told to ride it out and given an updated inhaler script. I eventually got better.
It came back in February and to urgent care I went again. My primary has retired and I didn't have another lined up so Urgent Care seemed an ok choic. Left with a script for promethazine. Nearly finished the bottle before I got better.
It came back in March to which I called my doctor's office and got the first available doctor for a consult since I knew urgent care wasn't gonna do anything for me. We spoke over the phone and he said I likey had pertussis so he prescribed a steroid and antibiotic. Worked within a day. I was much better instantly so I finished the round and figured we were good to go.
April was a let down as the cough returned. I quickly emailed the doctor and requested the same treatment. I had refills for the steroid so I just refilled but I needed him to prescribe the antibiotic. He refused. He said he can't prescribe it when the symptoms haven't been present that long. Uhm, what do you mean?! You knew my history already? He repeatedly told me there was nothing we could do, that I could try the steroid alone but it probably wouldn't do anything. I told him I refused to believe that there was nothing we could do and there had to be something, especially considering the antibiotic worked so quickly last time. He REFUSED to assist further and suggested if my symptoms were that bad to go to the ER for a chest X-ray. Fine.
Went to the ER and got a chest X-ray. Was there for literally 1.5 hours and walked away with a $2500 bill, a clear X-ray and a script for Tessalon Perles, a recommendation for Mucinex D, and oh look, the SAME ANTIBIOTICS I ASKED THE PRIMARY FOR, WHO SAID HE COULDN'T GIVE THEM TO ME. They knew my script history and had zero problem giving me the antibiotic. The ER doctor even laughed when I told him the primary said I had pertussis. His diagnosis- bronchitis. Told me to follow up with said doctor. No thank you.
The cocktail of antibiotics, Mucinex D and Tessalon Perles seemed to do the trick. For a while.
It's now May and the cough is back full force and more violent than ever. But instead of multiple coughing fits throughout the day, I get a few really violent ones with both vomiting and peeing. So I got that going for me, which is nice.
I called a pulmonologist today to get an appointment. I figured I'd start there. When the medical assistant asked me why I'm seeing the doctor, I ran down a TLDR of the above and was so very delighted to hear her response of, “So a cough?” Yeah girl. Put down a cough. I corrected her- “A severe cough.” I doubt she added the adjective. The next available isn't for 2 months.
So here I sit, being asked to ride it out and ingesting a cocktail of Mucinex D and ibuprofen with a little snack of Tessalon Perles during bed time. I'm almost positive this is gonna cause some long term repercussions but I have a 1 year old, a husband and a job to think of today. I'm still blown away that when I brought this up to the primary, that he's telling me there nothing he can do when I'm telling him I get random coughing fits in the car while driving my toddler around, I get a “Sorry. Try the ER.”
As you can probably tell, I'm at a loss on what to do. When I think my cocktail is working, I'm reminded it's not. Any suggestions other than, see a pulmonologist, would be greatly appreciated. Any reassurance that the primary isn't a complete moron, also appreciated. I would hate to think that a doctor would be that careless for no reason.
TLDR: Intermittent (monthly) sever cough since December, accompanied by sinusitis, vomiting and incontinence. Antibiotics helps but Dr. won't prescribe more than one round. Currently taking Mucinex D, 400 ibuprofen and Tessalon Perles at night for sleep. Appt with pulmonologist in 2 months but what to do until then?

Anyone have any experience with security and where they’re looking? I’m camping in travel trailer and am pulling in my Chevy Silverado. I don’t have the power hookup but there is an onboard generator and I want to bring in a 14 gallon tank so I can refill the generator when it gets low. Will I get turned away? If pulling a trailer with a truck will I be able to have my truck hooked up the whole time at the camp site? Anyone in similar situations in prior years let me know your experience! This song is just so emotional to me. I sense that something traumatic is happening to her - shes losing touch with reality in the backseat of her mom’s car, and she’s leaning on big breaths, fresh air, and her mom to bring her back to herself. I listened to this on Mother’s Day and basically sobbed bc there are too many times my mom has saved me from myself.
I think this album has a lot to offer, even if it’s pretty different from the old stuff. Hope there are some others that agree. If you don’t, that’s ok. But please try to keep this thread positive for those fans that are enjoying this music journey so far.

I’m hoping you can help me decide what to do…. I’ve been naturally light blond all my life. I had cancer and lost all my hair during chemotherapy (I’m fine now). Once I was done with treatment, my hair changed color and grew out as an ashy medium brown color. To warm it up, I’ve been using toners as a sheer color to make it look a little more copper. Toners are semi-permanent, so although most the color is gone within 6 weeks, some residual color remains on virgin hair.
Now it’s three years later and my roots have been growing progressively lighter, as if my natural hair color is healing. I’m guessing I’m currently a level 7-8 blond now.
How can I safely remove the toner color to go back to blond? I’d prefer not to bleach or damage my hair if at all possible.
