I just need some outside opinions on this. I had a tough time growing up as my brother was physically abusive towards me up until my early 20's. I will spare the details however my parents enabled this behavior and so this is just something we do not talk about and generally my brother ignores me if we ever see each other, which is maybe twice a year if that.
My sister sent out a text just to the siblings about meeting up for Mothers Day as we didn't get to on the day of. In the middle of the night I receive a group text with my sisters sent from my future sister-in-law saying she has never felt welcomed by us. She said her and my brother spoke about the group message and a txt of an invite to him is not an invite to her. It is odd since my sister in that group message said we should all bring our partners but I'm also a bit taken a back that someone about to marry into a family would txt something like this. She then said we are not giving her the same energy she gives us.
First, this was just a text between siblings and really not meant to cast out anyone. Second, my sisters and I have always been welcoming to her and I genuinely mean that. I will ask her about her life and her family, I made sure to congratulate them on their engagement. I don't let the unresolved issues I have with my family change how I treat her but I do make sure to set some boundaries when it becomes too much for me. For example she did ask to meet up in person earlier in their relationship and I did mention I was busy at the time and deferred to seeing them during the holiday but it is because of the lack of a relationship I have with my brother. I don't go out of my way to get to know her outside of functions we are at because I don't have a relationship with my brother and it is difficult for me as he abused me. I text him every birthday with no response back. I make sure to say hi to him and her and ask them questions about their lives if we are together. Every partner I have had has mentioned something about the way my brother treats me and ignores my presence. They have even commented on how my mother will put me down and compliment him in front of people which has been really hard to explain to them that this is how it is for me. This is the family dynamic.
I don't think my future SIL knows about the abuse and honestly I don't want to talk about it with her. When I got older I just accepted my family will be unfair in this situation but I'll try to be the 'bigger person' in and still try to be supportive. My own family has a hard time recognizing this so obviously this isn't something I feel comfortable speaking about to someone coming into the family. I just thought the text was a bit selfish as it just assumes we are coming from a bad place but also it was my sister that texted for the plans so unsure why you would text all of us about excluding you when no other partners were added. Whenever I do see my brother he is not kind to me or ignores me altogether. He also never texts or acknowledges my partner if they are ever present. She definitely notices this as she will be in the room as it happens. My partner will also notice so clearly it's obvious my brother and I do not have a normal relationship. I'm not sure what to say to this. I just feel really sad and weird. I'm not trying to leave her out but this guy abused me and it's bad enough my own family doesn't understand. People are just so quick to think the worst in others I guess.

Yesterday in the Daybell trial (day 22) in Idaho, a supervisor from the FBI’s CAST (cellular analysis dept) testified & they brought up a map, matching the description of the map in the Delphi case, and described why they pick a 100m range - even though the data points can be much more specific than that.
This leads me to believe that FBI’s CAST team made the map referred to by Baldwin & Rozzi, showing the phones being tracked around a 100m range.
(The rest of this post incorporates that assumption bc I believe it’s strongly evidenced based on the testimony from the Daybell trial yesterday)
Those in the ‘guilty’ camp like to argue that AT&T “made the map” (nonsense; they provide data & coverage maps, not tracking maps to aid in prosecutions, unless subpoenaed to do so, which wouldn’t be done bc CAST exists).
The FBI CAST supervisor explained that the 100m range is an objective point that doesn’t over, or under-state their precision, and allows for a reasonable margin of error. [the actual precision range is about 16-30m IIRC]
It’s much more precise than phone pings and their maps they showed on the screen tracking Alex Cox’s phone within a 100m range seems identical to what’s being described by the Defense in regard to the map of the 100m range on Ron Logan’s property.
The testimony also was in regard to AT&T & Verizon phones, specifically, and did include maps provided by AT&T, none of which match what’s described in the Delphi case, but did show overlapping coverage zones that are more detailed than the coverage map provided on their website.
A lot of the info was specific to data provided by AT&T, and there was clear contrast with the actual AT&T maps vs. the FBI CAST maps that use a 100m range - the CAST maps incorporate the AT&T data & pings, geolocation (done by CAST), Google location data, and drive test information.

Google and Gmail specifically give abundant location data points as precise as any other form of GPS (~concern for my own privacy~)

It also showed multiple phones being tracked (Lori, Chad, and Alex), and described (w/ visual aid on maps) how they track those phones within the 100m range, and in relation to phone’s distance from each other.
In the Kohberger case, they are having a heck of a time getting this same division (Idaho) of CAST to participate in their discovery phase, and I believe (speculation) that the reason for that is likely because of HOW transparent they are about this data & the backup info that supports it. They showed maps, raw data, put the report right up on the huge projector screen & explained the 100m map in full detail.

A lot of the info that’s come out about the Kohberger case shows that the PCA doesn’t line up with the facts from the FBI (the scenario is ringing a bell, I must say). Yesterday the Defense in that case quoted the state as saying the PCA “is irrelevant at this stage” - and this is right around the time the subpeona issued to the FBI CAST expert should be fulfilled (sometime this week) (speculation within a speculation: I think they turned it in last week, or as soon as they received the subpoena, bc it’s not like they didn’t have it ready… The CAST data was relied upon by investigators before the arrest and is referred to in the Dec, 2022 PCA. So it seems like they turned it in already, and now the state states that ‘the PCA is irrelevant.’ (— In the Delphi case, that goes without saying))
IMO, the state’s quote indicates the FBI was forthright about their data, the State wanted to limit the information they disclose to only things that support their PCA, the FBI refused to exclude data that works against the State, nothing was brought forth or presented, the Judge subpoenaed it, and when it was brought forth, the state said to disregard it all {this is yet to be confirmed but based on the Touhey process being implemented as of the 05/02 hearing & major indications in the filings we’ve seen since then}

So! I bet Baldwin & Rozzi have figured out who made the map - FBI CAST - and that it’s not just AT&T phone pings - and that the FBI CAST will gladly share with them every detail they seek, bc it ain’t no secret for them. It seems to be work they’re proud of and will present in great detail

This neighborhood has the cell service equivalent to a rural area with cows and shit. I have been trying to make a doc appt for the last 2 hours. 1. what is it we even had? you said we were just friends - i accept that - but i feel like it was definitely not what i saw. and yes, maybe this is subjective BUT i don't think friends hold hands (well they do but they're not afraid to), they don't celebrate "months of friendship" (recalling every month we were "together" we would celebrate) and friends don't kiss each other's foreheads like that (and if they didn't like it, they'd stop each other). honestly, I'm cringing recalling the fucking embarrassing things i did but it needs to be addressed. i have to ask you - and there's no shame in being truthful because i don't care anymore - what did you see us as? was i a one time fling? was i seriously just your friend? did you have feelings for me then realise i was too high maintenance to handle and dropped me? or maybe there was another factor. that brings me to my next point.
2. was there another person who you realised was better? again, while an average person might see this as morally incorrect - i do not care - you're human and you can feel whatever you want for whoever you want. But i’m genuinely asking, did you? Was it the guy you liked in year 6? The one who bullied you? Call me a detective but, i remember seqc calling one night after things ended, i was back from vietnam and had slightly accepted the idea of the situation. you pulled out some messages from a boy on discord, it was of him admitting he liked you back in year 6. i looked at the date, it was the 6th of january 2023, 9 days before you had the courage to break it off with me. Did he maybe have a part in this? Did you maybe feel things weren’t working out with me and realised you had a chance with someone else so you took it? AGAIN NO SHAME - you do whatever you want to do in life, i’m not shaming you or judging you I just genuinely want to know. I also saw you posting about a boy on your story - not sure if its the same boy but if it was, i hope it went well for you. Sorry these were all the conspiracy theories i made up to cope - crazy right? Imagine what a person can do to you.
3. why did we stop being friends? Even though things didn;t work out romantically (or what i thought was romantic, you thought of as friendship), i don’t know what happened to us. You told me you wanted to be friends. I also wanted to be friends. The only reason that kept me alright was the idea that even though you don’t think of me more, i could still keep you as a friend - someone i could share my passions with and geek out over txt music with. Thats why i tried to stay friends with you. I really and truly did try to make ‘friends’ work with you. But the more i tried - the more annoyed you got. Or i think you were getting annoyed. I wouldn’t know because you didn’t tell me how you felt afterwards. I tried to make it work because you said we could be friends but you gave up on me. I think that’s what hurt me the most - breaking your word. I keep saying it, but you’re entitled to do whatever you want, but it left an emotional scar on me. I don’t want to admit it, but on the days you started at (bean's new school name), i woke up early just to talk to you, to keep you company on the bus on your first few days. Yea cringey i know, bare with me please. I thought I owed you that, i thought that being friends with you after you ended ‘things’, i had to earn my right so i tried, i really tried to be my best for you, so you felt that maybe it was worth keeping me around. And maybe, maybe i was still in love with you then. But i think you saw talking to me for three days straight at 7am was annoying and you were probably uncomfortable because it was me. I feel like you saw me as a creep - almost like a pedo. But i tried and you gave up on me, and there was a time a couple months later where we were perfectly fine, but then things just went again.

you might think I just had silly little feelings for you. but I didn't. i really had feelings for you. and I don't know if you genuinely didn't see me that way, or you didn't have feelings for me, if you just thought it was a silly little thing we had going on or if you're hiding the fact you did like me at some point. I just know that losing you as a friend really crushed me to pieces. and yes you told people you never want to talk to me or talk about me - which is fine you're entitled to your own rights - but I just wanted to get this off my chest. one last time - I promise.
I don’t know if this will get to you. It probably won’t, theres a bit too much that i wrote in here. Do you care about this still? Definitely not (I’m assuming). It’s embarrassing how much I think about this and how much i regret not letting my feelings out before you removed me as a friend on instagram and discord (or even blocking me on spotify, not sure how spotify was a way for me to get to you but whatever works i guess). First, I'll start off by saying that this is probably a me problem, and that I'm pretty sure I just need to learn how to not get anxiety from this, but I still want feedback to see what other people think.
I've been seeing this girl for a short time now. We're aren't exclusive, just going through the dates to see where it leads. In person and via FaceTime, our chemistry is off-the-charts, and we have both confessed in person that emotions are strong. We have another date planned for two weeks from now (we cant do sooner because of I'll be out of town for work for a bit).
The issue I have is that I'll have one day where she'll txt things like "You’ve been on my mind a lot☺️", or how our next date we have planned to make pizza together for our dinner date, and she says "Thinking about you and I making pizza together now, it’s got me cheesin☺️". There are other examples, and it gives me very strong confidence that she's really into me.
The anxiety starts to kick in though when we are vibing and in the middle of a back and forth thing, and the conversation just stops... she just doesn't reply. Or I'll send her a picture of something cool, and I'll get nothing in return.
For example, this past Friday night I sent her a text immediately after she sent me one (during a somewhat back-and-forth convo), and it was something along the lines of "can you see the northern lights where you are?" I waited about 36 hours for a reply on Sunday (a day and a half later) and it was.... "Hey baby😋". Didn't even respond the question at all. I then asked what she's been up to and she said she's been spending time with her mom for the weekend (because it was mother's day) and proceeded to tell me what they've been up to.
Her communication style is just.... odd compared to what I've seen from other women I've dated. It's not how I would ever communicate via txt at all. She skips questions, or doesn't respond to a picture of something, etc. It feels like she ignores it completely? Or is aloof in some weird way?
Now to be fair, I have brought up the topic of communication already as I was previously kinda worried about how things would go silent for long periods prior to this one, so, trying to be a communicating guy, I said about a week ago:
"I wanted to ask you… how much communication would you like between us while we’re apart? Are you ok with txting and FT’s, and how often? I wanted to check in and see what you’re comfortable with."
and her response was:
"I’m happy with our level of communication:) to be upfront it may get a teeny bit less frequent just because I keep a pretty full schedule. Especially during the summer months. And I’m also not on my phone very much. Tbh most of my phone time recently has been chatting with you, and that’s not a bad thing! I love our conversations and connection. I don't know.... am I overreacting here? Do any other men/women here txt like this? Or just hate txting? Or just are never on your phone? She's 25, and I figured all young women in their 20's would be glued to their phone.

My fiance has a P7Pro on T-Mobile. Since the March update data and calls have sucked. Many incoming calls go straight to voicemail, or if they go through the voices in both directions cut in and out. Sometimes data just stops in areas that worked before, and surfing the web often gives the little T-rex logo and says no internet connection. Have tried all known settings, including adaptive connectivity, network reset, and spent several hours yesterday doing a factory reset and setting up everything again. No difference. T-Mobile admits they are having issues and say an update will come "soon." I personally have an 8 Pro on Verizon and haven't had any of these issues, probably because Verizon issued a modem update with the 2nd April update.
Chats with Google also admit there is an issue with the modem firmware, and told us today that an update "will be rolled out in the coming weeks." There have been discussions about other carriers updating the modem firmware in the second April update. T-Mobile never released that, and their may update ending in .004 kept the prior March modem. Apparently they are still working the issue and will eventually get the update released.
So, I'm very comfortable sideloading and using ADB, but I know I won't be able to sideload the February 24 OTA image since it is older than the April update currently on the device. The factory reset left the April update there when it restarted. To those of you with experience reloading the factory image from February, how is this different from sideloading the usual monthly updates? I know it will wipe the device, but will it need to unlock the bootloader, and if so, how is that done? The phone is unlocked bought from Google directly. Also, she doesn't want me to do anything to lose her text history. Since I probably can't use the prior backup from Google 1 (or can I?) is there a way to restore the text history using another method. Thanks!

I'm a 23yo working full-time living at home with my mother (40s) and 3 younger siblings (19, 17, 17 ; all with high-functioning autism) and it feels like everyone in this house is so goddamn incompetent. Because of how everyone else is, it feels like I constantly need to be the one to "swoop in" and "save" them from whatever it is. It's hard to elaborate the extent of just how BURNT OUT I am living here because it's been years of things bothering me, and I'm very close to reaching my breaking point. (TLDR at bottom)
My main stressor is my mother. My mother is financially incompetent and owes me THOUSANDS of dollars to help her pay for rent because she literally does not know how to budget her money properly. It's nearly impossible for her. I've even went out of my way to help her create a budget NUMEROUS times, and she's never stuck to them. She hasn't asked me to help her with rent in months now, but occasionally will ask me to pay for our groceries (cool, alright) or the whole family's phone plans (uh). Both nowhere near as much as rent of course, but it's concerning me that I'm like a backup plan for my mother, because what is she going to do by the time I move out? I'm not helping her with her finances by that point. I've had friends tell me to just say no to giving her money for rent/food/phone, but my thought process is "then where is she going to get the money from? we'll lose our home. we'll starve. we won't have phone service," etc. It feels like I HAVE TO or we'll struggle. And if I can't help, it'll be my fault if things go downhill. -- Side note, she relies on me so much that she expects me to memorize her own log-ins for HER stuff. I come home from work one day and she's asking me how to log into her fucking Verizon account??? How TF would I know your password holy shit bro. Extra side note but my mom has even asked me to get a mortgage under my name and have her pay for it so she doesn't have to pay for expensive rent anymore?????? Like it's hard to really summarize what I've dealt with with her within just the past year man. lol
My 19yo sister is finished school, but unemployed. My mom has asked me many times to help her find an online job, which first of all, why the hell am I finding HER a job, and second of all, how the hell am I suppose to find her an online job that's legit and doesn't require either some form of hybrid work or degrees? She has no skills and no specific career path she's interested in that's guaranteed to make good money. And the reason why my mom is particular on her having specifically an online job is because we don't trust her to take public transit or walking on her own to her job because she doesn't pay attention at all to her surroundings. She doesn't familiarize herself with where she's going when we do go out. Besides all of this, it's stressing me out that it feels like I need to constantly baby her at her age telling her to clean her own room and do her chores, when she literally does NOTHING else in this house but play games and sit on her ass all day on her phone. She does nothing productive but will have the audacity to tell me that a few dishes and a couple large pots and pans is "too much" to do at once when cleaning dishes. Or will tell me to "hold on" while she's in the middle of a game because I'm telling her to do chores she should have already done.
My brothers who are both 17 are still in school but struggle with their classes. I'm not really frustrated with them as I am with my mother and sister, but it's an additional stress seeing them struggle in school and get upset and self-deprecate because they're failing, even though when I have told them many times over the years they can always ask me to help them out. But they never do. They struggle but ask for no help. There's only so many times I can lend a hand, but as the old saying goes "you can lead a horse to water but you can't force them to drink." I don't want to just give up on them and I want to see them succeed but like... what else can I do in this situation? Mom's too busy to help them (or honestly even check up on how they're doing in school lol) and sister's definitely not gonna help because she was in a similar situation when she was in school, even struggling to the point where she'd cry and beg to drop out, which I definitely did not allow and won't for my brothers either.
I want to leave so fucking badly but I don't have enough savings at the moment to move out with a roommate securely. I also worry alot that when I do leave, everything will crumble. My mother's barely taught my siblings how to actually be adults and they're probably just going to all end up being unemployed because my mom has no trust that they can have normal jobs and commute normally by bus/train. I worry for a situation where my mom is gone and my siblings are left scrambling unsure of what to do. I feel like it's partially my fault, but at the same time I recognize that I am not their parent and I deserve to live a life away from my household and worry about myself and my future. It doesn't feel fair man. I've been so patient with everyone. I've offered my siblings money incentives if they do their chores regularly and just do their work in school (I don't even care if they get all C's and D's, a pass is a pass. They did their best.) I've tried helping them out with school, giving them life advice, and just being a figure they can go to if they can't talk to my mom. All I can do for now is just go to work, make my money, come home, and try to avoid the things that will trigger my frustration.
Not sure what advice could be given, but any is appreciated. (and I can try to answer any potential questions)
TLDR: Mom sucks with her money and owes me money because of it. Adult sister can't act like an adult for the life of her. Teen brothers struggle in school but ask for no help from anyone despite offers. I feel like I need to save everyone but it feels like a lot on my shoulders.

• I find it very interesting how willingly and easily the CAST team at FBI cooperated with this Daybell case, in contrast with subpoenas and the Touhey process being employed in the Kohberger case
• There are a lot of overlapping coverage zones in Idaho > (but this case is based on the opposite corner of the state, so it didn’t show the maps they use near where this investigation is based)

• They didn’t find a single hint of Chad’s DNA on anything they tested > — despite 18 of the items being tools he owned & presumably has used…. > — They assumed ownership and that his DNA would be present (apparently neglecting to consider that someone else’s DNA being present could be exculpatory for the defendant) > huge risk from this testimony: conspiracy to commit murder + 1st degree murder —> just conspiracy}
• There was essentially no unexpected or incriminating DNA anywhere (Lori’s was mixed with Tylee’s in some places but she’s already convicted so that rly makes no dif)
• She gave some insights that help to understand the super high #s given in this case. — They assume mixture but test for a unique profile among it. — {they expected DNA from soil, decomposition fluids from both victims, and ashes <-interesting}
• They got reference samples from all the main players and, using using atypical methodology, did not test for any outside contributor’s identities > — “Atypical” bc thats how they did it “for this case,” she clarified (unique instructions or circumstances apparently)
• For all cases, they only test exactly the items & places on the items that police or prosecutors instruct them to, or things they’re instructed to test by court orders
• in this case, she saw potential blood on 10 items which they only determined was consistent with blood, but didn’t test whose it was on any of them.
• Their policy is not to run consumptive testing without approval. > — And apparently didn’t seek, or weren’t granted approval, despite nothing testing positive for the defendant’s DNA

I was pretty shocked at how much DNA they opted to preserve rather than consume. In this case, what could they possibly need to save it for that would be more important than THIS investigation & trial !!!? - no one wants to clone this dude & taxpayers prob aren’t hoping for a re-do - and especially given that they don’t have even one tiny HINT of Chad’s DNA on anything….!..?..!.? - Yikes - (no fault of Ms. Dace though; she just tests what she’s told to).

• they assume it was on tool handles since he owned them, but that also bases the choice not to confirm, on the assumption that no one else’s would be present…. we’ll see if the jury accepts that….

(For clarity: I think he obviously played a key role in the kid’s deaths & is guilty of at least conspiracy to commit murder, just now question the strength of the first degree murder charge, not his actual guilt)

  Side-note: Prosecutor Wood’s performance is a lot more mild than what I expected. Pryor is coming off as more thorough and inquisitive, but both of them come off as very kind and reasonable - very courteous & cooperative with each other, too; they have a lot of sidebars, like, “Your honor, may I have a brief moment to discuss with Mr. Wood?”, and come to quick, joint-agreements or suggestions. Pryor’s been given an extremely difficult task to undertake single-handedly - facing what seems impossible. He’s missed a few key opportunities to question some things, but I think he’s matching the performance of the prosecutors thus far, from the days I watched.

A month or so ago I busted my phone, and it was a huge pain in the ass. Aside from some lost data which was minor, the biggest PIA was resetting MFA, getting in touch with my US banks, and any other services that were tied to my phone. The experience also made me take a step back and realize I am pretty lax with security, and if someone had gotten hold of my phone and somehow god-forbid gotten the passcode, then I'd be fucked. They could do so much damage with unlimited access to my email + MFA SMS, even in just a few hours.
As a result, I kind of went down the ADHD rabbit hole hyper-fixating on how best to "optimize" my iPhone and iCloud configuration for two things:

1. If it breaks, the transition to a new device will be relatively painless. I won't have to spend several days stressing and trying to find the right international customer support number for a myriad of institutions and services to get into my accounts.
   
2. If it gets stolen and compromised, then there will be enough barriers such that the I'll have enough time to lock down the device and/or my accounts remotely before the thief can get key data or move funds.
   

So I put together this guide and checklist that I thought I'd share with others. I am a programmer but by no means a security guru, and so if any IT, DevOps, or SecOps folks want to chime-in with suggestions or improvements, please do.

Requirements

• an iPhone XR, iPhone XS, iPhone 11, iPhone 12, iPhone 13, iPhone SE (2nd generation), and iPhone 14 or newer for eSIM compatibility.
• a US-based carrier with eSIM support + a pay-as-you-go model for international travel (I use Verizon)
• iOS 17 or above (may not be strictly necessary, but I know my setup works with iOS 17.4.1)
• a password manager. I personally use 1Password because it works, is reliable, has cross-device support, and is easy and intuitive. It's also only $3/month.

Dual Sim Setup

I have been rocking an iPhone 12 for the past few years, and it's served me very well. I know the newer iPhones (14 and up) no longer offer physical SIM card support, but carriers in most developing countries are behind the curve. Even if they offer eSIM support, it's been my experience that it's a major headache to get setup, there is a lack of customer support in English, and they may even require a local ID to register the eSIM. It's way easier to just head to a shop and pay $5 for a SIM card, load some funds onto it, and then you're good to go.
The eSIM has been very helpful for maintaining a US phone number for which I can receive SMS texts from my banks and other financial services as well as continue to use iMessage with all my US contacts since hardly anybody is on Whatsapp.
Most, if not all, carriers in the US support eSIMs now, and so you should try to find a carrier that offers an international pay-as-you-go plan. Verizon offers two international plans - one is a "Travel Pass" where it's a flat fee of $10/day anywhere outside the US or Canada (even for just one text message). The other is "pay for what you use" which has a rate per text, minute, and mb. For my US plan, I only care about receiving SMS texts from my banks and the occasional phone call to a service that doesn't have an international, toll-free number. Data will always be cheaper outside the US, so I disable cellular data switching for my US line.
The last time I was in the US was for the holidays and I bought 2 used iPhone 12's for about $200 each. They have some scuffs, but they're perfectly serviceable. In LATAM, it also doesn't attract nearly as much unwanted attention in the street as an iPhone 14 or 15.
I brought these with me as extra devices. When my phone busted last month, thankfully I had a backup in iCloud and everything was loaded in a few minutes as normal. This was before I was using the eSIM, but if I had the eSIM I could just go to Verizon support online via chat and they could help me switch the line to the new device easily.

Basic Configurations

• Always use the latest version of firmware
• Require a passcode that's unique to that device.
• Use FaceID instead of passcode when possible (a thief can't snipe your passcode from a distance if you unlock your phone with FaceID)
• Set auto-lock to 30 seconds (lowest possible)
• Erase data upon excessive passcode failures note, this is complemented in a later step with daily backups. The odds of you putting in the wrong passcode 10 times is low, but in the event you do and you wipe the device by accident, you should be able to easily load in a back-up from the previous day)
• Turn off "Ask to Join Networks"
• Forget unused networks so that you don't rejoin automatically (airports, hotels, etc.)

Creating Backups

• Set iCloud backups to run automatically every night. This will allow you to load your entire phone as is (contacts, call history, iMessages, apps, even your wallpaper) onto another device during setup. The iCloud backup usually runs at 2am while I'm sleeping.
• You may need to pay for a higher tier in iCloud if you have too much stored on your phone. It's $3/month for 200gb of iCloud storage, and I find it worth it. Though I know some people with tens of thousands of photos for which 200gb might not be enough.

Password Policy

• For any accounts that may contain sensitive data (payments, PII, etc), always generate a unique password with 1Password. Don't reuse passwords. Same goes for PIN codes.
• For core accounts, create a strong but memorable password and then memorize it. The odds of getting locked out of 1Password are low if you're diligent, but for 2 or 3 core accounts (where you access money, your primary recovery email, your iCloud, 1Password), it's worth it to create strong, unique passwords for each core service and memorize them.
• I try not to reuse passwords in general, but I still sometimes am lazy and use one of my handful of typical passwords if there's no sensitive data collected by the service and it's a service I don't use often.

MFA

Set up MFA with everything. Add multiple options if possible. My preferred MFA options are as follows:

1. One-time code that renews every 30 seconds. This is device agnostic and can be stored in 1Password. You could also use Microsoft Authenticator, Google Authenticator, Authy or similar, but there's just more overhead to now recover those accounts if your device becomes inaccessible.
2. One-time code to recovery email.
3. One-time code via SMS to my US phone number. On the pay-as-you-go Verizon plan, I only pay 5 cents per text message received. It's worth it to keep one consistent number.
4. List of recovery codes (stored in 1Password as an attached txt file for the given account)
5. Use another app for verification (Google does this a lot).

Lockdown your iCloud security

• Enable MFA.
• Create a strong, unique password.
• Remove any old or unused devices from the iCloud account (old phones, ipods, etc).
• Enable "Find My" for all of your devices.
• In Find My, configure all devices to send the last known location.
• In Find My, enable the configuration to remotely wipe a device.

In the event your phone is stolen, the idea is you could run back to any of your devices or even use a friend's device to log into iCloud on the web, go to Find My, and then in a single button click you can lock and wipe the stolen device. If the thief turned off the device or disabled wifi/cellular, then as soon as it comes back online it will be wiped.

Final Clean-Up

• Move any compromising photos to the "hidden" folder (which requires FaceID or passcode to unlock)
• Review the Files app for any documents containing sensitive info. If you need these documents to be accessible on mobile, then move them to 1Password and delete them from the Files app.
• Create a shortcut to trigger the lock screen (and thus require FaceID or passcode) when specific apps are opened (banking, email, photos, etc).
• Not sure if this is best practice, but I just keep everything in 1P and turn off apple keychain and the apple built-in password manager. I also don't save passwords in Chrome or Safari.

Extra tips

These aren't really iPhone tips but general tips. They are probably obvious to you if you aren't as scatterbrained as me, but I figured that I'd drop them here in case they help someone.

• Add thorough security measures to iCloud, primary email, and any banking or financial services. Review each account and make sure you have a strong, unique password as well as a unique PIN, MFA configured, login alerts, recovery codes, and an international, 24-hour toll-free phone number stored somewhere to contact the service in the event of a crisis. For banking services, add withdrawal limits, regional restrictions (if you bounce between the same few countries), and SMS notifications for charges over a certain threshold. Open up a second checking account with a separate debit card for trips to the ATM.
• Consolidate and close any unused bank accounts. I realized that on my phone I had Revolut, Venmo, Paypal, Nequi, plus 4 US banking institutions. I took this time to close my Discover account (which is pretty much useless outside the US anyway), close my Revolut account since I'm hardly ever in the UK/EU, and consolidate investment accounts from different institutions into just a handful that's easier to monitor.

I am so confused right now.
I (17f), have a best friend, we'll call her B(17f). We became good friends really quickly and it has just been a year of being close to one other. It all started when we had a free period in school and talked about our family and stuff for the whole time without hesitation. From then on we were inseparable. She means so much to me, really. I was soo lonely before her, never had anybody to talk to or just be with and she changed it so I'm really indebted to her for that.
We have just given 12th boads this year (its bacically final exams of 12 standard which is on a all india bases). During the exam month maybe after 2 of the exams I got to know that my grandmother passed away. It was really shocking because even though she was in the hospital, she was making speedy recovery. The day she got discharged from the hospital, we lost her on the way home.
I wasn't really close to her but this is my grandmother we're talking about. I was really disturbed after hearing this, especially because I hadn't met her for years, neither I was able to bid her a last goodbye. I wasn't even able to participate in the rituals for her funeral.
The day I got this news I told B. I told her that my grandmother died. She said it's okay, and that even though my grandmother wasn't nice it's hard to loose a grand parent and that I should focus on my studies. This is badically all that she said. I had talked to her about my grand mother and told her some questionable things that she has done, so maybe she thought that I wasn't affected with her death but idk why I expected her to console me, to just be there for me. i didn't even get are you OK text from her.
The next day she was texting me about how there is this person she texted on reddit who turned out to be weird. That's what she asked me the next day after my grandmother just died. She never asked me how I was, never. I was not as responsive as usually was but that was because i was bloody alone. My parents had all gone to the hometown for the funeral and i was at my aunt's house because i could'nt leave the exams. I was so alone and not even once she asked me how i was. I even told her after a few days that i am not okay and that it really hurt when she started taliking about a guy to me after i told her my grandmother just passed. To that she replied that I was being cold so she thought she should give me some time and also she was sick with a throat infection do she couldn't wait for me to talk.
That really hurt. I know she was unwell and it must be difficult for her to think about other stuff while being in sickand I also understand that I am not a baby and that I shouldn't expect people to coddle me, but that really hurt. She did apologise and said that she didn't expect that I would be affected by this. But then went on as if it's all normal from the other day. After this incident, I tried to just forget it and move past it, but everything that she did just infuriated me. It never felt like she was sorry, even after she said it. This has just made me feel like she doesn't care at all. She is recently started talking to this guy on telegram. And all we talk about is him. "Should I send him this?" Or " he send me this message what should I reply with" something or the other about him. She tells me that she talked to him for hours one day but she couldn't even txt me once.
I was really trying to just forget it, really but I just felt so off. It's like I have to work to make things no longer awkward between us when she was the one that hurt me. It still infuriates me. Every conversation is about her, how her father demotivates her or how her grandma did this or something something along those lines. I have started to feel as if she doesn't know anything about me. Sometimes it's like she doesn't care at all about me.
I know I'm no angle myself. But when I did something wrong I know that I tried to change that about myself, tried to mend things (atleast in my head i was trying, idk if it was noticeable).
I know her life is harder than me, she has gone through more stuff than I have, but sometimes is it too much to expect someone to just listen and tell you that you aren't being dramatic Or hell's sake tell you that you are being dramatic rather that telling them that worse happened with them?
I am so just frustrated right now. We were on a meet and she started to talk to that same telegram guy in the meet. I have done this too but in my head it's like "i did it only once and then apologised for it, and its not like i always talk about someone else while we are together."
I don't know what to do. I really wanted to tell her that I am hurt but it feels like it has been to long and I shouldn't hold on to something that happened a month ago. I really don't want to loose her. She is that only friend that I have and we have a great friendship apart from some things. Idk if what I feel is justified or if i'm being dramatic and entitled, expecting too much from people Please be completely honest and tell me if I'm wrong so that i can try to better myself or how I should handle this situation. Any advice for this pety situation is welcomed.

I apologize beforehand for the long winding post!
A little background for which influences my opinion, I'm very very new to the fandom and although I was aware of RIIZE (all those hype about Wonbin) and lowkey enjoyed their music, I was not sold on fully supporting them beyond listening to their music on random spotify playlist. I have always been a single group stan type (I only follow and spend money on 1 group) and since I left my previous fandom (member's sexual harassment scandal) I have been following K-Pop very casually without getting "into" any group so to speak. I was also aware of Seunghan's (and Sohee's and Eunseok's and Anton's) "scandals", but I only read the news in passing without being invested in any of it. However, I've been obsessed with 'Impossible' since it was released and youtube algorithm somehow showed me their newest WE RIIZE content and I love playing boardgames irl so I clicked on it. Let's just say that they "get" me with that and so, yes--my first genuine introduction to RIIZE is that of OT6.
I found them really sweet and funny in their own ways and started a deep dive on their contents and following them on social media. I have never followed NCT so I did not know who either Sungchan or Shotaro was until RIIZE and only after that I started reading stuff about their experience in NCT too. Let me begin to say that I agree that the reaction to Seunghan's "scandal" is proportionally harsh and SM's decision to put him in hiatus is unfair considering how other idols are given second chance with worse behavior. I totally understand the opinion of OT7s that wants him back. I agree that he's very talented and I can see from their old contents that's he's a mood-maker with hosting duties in the group. He is a valuable member of the team. I am sure the rest of the members love him and miss him too.
I totally understand all of these points, however I personally think he has been in hiatus for too long so I want SM to give us either an update or closure whatever that might be, whether it is OT7 or they are moving on with OT6. This has been dragging for too long to the point he has been in hiatus longer than being active and also while the group is in a critical stage of their career. As fans are aware RIIZE is about to release a new mini album--so, honestly, the talk of boycott scares me. I understand that the point is to make SM listen to fans' demand but honestly I am more worried about how it may impact SM's treatment to RIIZE. The group has been mismanaged so far (and SM keeps adding more problems to RIIZE's plate with the Japan tour schedule) and I just do not want it to get worse. They are successful rookies but they are just still rookies now without any power, what if SM decides that it's not worth it to promote them well and put them on a backburner? I realize that this is a very pessimistic POV and they probably will end up getting mismanaged anyway (because SM) but the members just seem so eager and happy to promote and as long as it's not impacting their health, I want them to achieve everything they want to achieve.
This is gonna get me some backlash but I am not gonna lie, after watching their more recent youtube contents, recent performance clips and reading reports about the fan-con I am more attached to OT6 and less to Seunghan since I haven't been seeing as much of him. Perhaps it's because I am more used to RIIZE without Seunghan, I don't find them really lacking in anything--they are hardworkers who will keep growing and improving and they are already getting more and more comfortable with each other and with the camera. I find them funny and endearing in their own chill way and I enjoy their songs and performances. It's not that I am against Seunghan coming back because if he does I will gladly celebrate OT7 and learn more about him--however my current concern is the stability of the group and the atmosphere surrounding it. They are Gen Zs so I am sure they are hyper aware of social media and I selfishly want the fandom to focus on them and their hard-work without all these controversies surrounding them. The rest of the members are experiencing so many of their first achievements together now as OT6, idk if Seunghan still lives in the dorm but being in this weird limbo must be hard for both him and the members. Seeing the members cry in fan-cons broke my heart, they have been through a lot and they only debuted like 8 months ago? I feel like the longer this is dragged out, the worse it will become.
I am aware that it is not uncommon for SM to put their artists in long hiatus, but at this point I just want SM to give some update or closure--when is Seunghan coming back? Is Seunghan ever coming back? It's ok if it will take him a while to comeback because he needs to prioritize his mental health. But still, I want to know what the decision is as soon as possible.

So I already have the LM, retail space. I am working on getting a contractor because I will need to have dry walls built as well as electrical and plumbing work.
Here is a list of things I think I still need, starting from the bottom and going up

• Wood flooring to get the first inch.

• Turf outside of hitting areas.
  
• Hitting area turf (Going to use SigPro Softy)
  
• Impact screen, one 16x9 in a 20x20 space, and similar dimensions for the 16x16 bay.
  
• Wall padding/carpet. Thinking about going out 3-5 feet from screen with wall padding and the rest of the room a carpet.
  
• Something to protect the drop down ceilings (Not sure what to get here, depending on how far out the side paneling goes, I guess plywood that same distance and use the same padding on the ceiling)
  
• Black out shades for the space's outside windows (want it to be completely private, no one can look in)
  
• Outside signage
  
• Phone and Internet access (What do you think is the minimum speed of internet? Fastest I am finding is 5G from Verizon which is 200 mbps)
  
• 2 Computers, 1 for each bay
  
• a bunch of TV monitors.
  
• Birdii software
  
• Front doors to work with Birdie software.
  
• Square for payment processing (no cash)
  
• Finish website.

I decided to go no contact with my mom in August. She never comes to see me or my 2 children. My youngest is 10 m.o and my mom has yet to meet her or even try to meet her. Long story short my mom never comes around, asks to see my kids. Nothing she wanted no part of my wedding dress shopping ,taking pictures with me be4 my wedding and even tried to pay me out of marrying my husband of now 9 years. (I'm still salty about it) I have asked her to come visit many many many times and she don't,she lives 10 mins away. We can't visit her house bc she smokes and her boyfriend is abusive and don't want me kids around him. My sister and her kids gets visits every now and again from her and they txt all the time. The only times I get texts from my mom is birthdays and some holiday. The very few times my mom has come over she loads my oldest up with toys and gifts, same thing at birthday parties for my sister's kids. My mom gets all the kids gifts on the others kids birthday's. She didn't come to child's 2 birthday n ignored my calls and texts but called my sister to tell her she would not be coming. A year n half or so My mom left her boyfriend for a week or so and stayed at my sister's, I visited everyday. She went back. I have cleaned out the spare room in my home manyyy times for to stay with us and she never ends up coming. I asked her repeatedly to be constant in my children's lives, to come visit them,to have a relationship with them and she don't. My oldest 3 don't even know who she is if I show her a picture of her. My mom texted me late last night. And reading it I'm left feeling so annoyed n invalid. She's always let me dwn and has hurt me so much on the way. At ever turns she's left me feeling unloved,her actions are the opposite of her words. Always. I feel so lost. I just want a mom who shows she cares and don't just say it. Empty comments about loving me n caring for me but hurt. I went no contact in Aug bc my mental health was suffering so bad. I have depression and my mom and I'm relationship is a Hugee trigger. Any one going through something similar, any words of advice? I don't plan on texting her back.
