2024.05.14 07:18 joojie Extreme exercise intolerance. Tachycardia/SOB
Over the past several months I've been experiencing extreme exercise intolerance. I am a 41F, overweight (5'4" ~190lbs) after having a total thyroidectomy due to Grave's disease in 2017. I gained about 80lbs after surgery and I'm currently on Ozempic to help. (Have lost ~40lbs since July)
Last summer I was able to swim 60 lengths in the pool, took me about 45 min (not going for any records) and my HR would get into the 140s-150s by the end. I didn't feel terrible, I felt like I was getting good exercise.
Now I can hardly exert myself at all. My resting heart rate is 70-80. If I climb ONE flight of stairs, 14 steps, at a fairly leisurely pace, my heart rate immediately goes up to ~140-160. I get extremely short of breath. Occasionally I feel light headed. I am a vet tech and I spend a decent amount of time on the floor with my patients. When I get up, I get tachycardic and light headed. The other day I had to corral two sibling puppies into their kennel. The bending and pushing the pups into the kennel got my HR to 158. I had to lift a 90lbs dog onto a table for x-rays (with assistance!) and I had to sit down after, even though the lifting took like 4.5 seconds. My HR got to the 160s for that. (
See a few screenshots from my smart watch. I sent one to my husband with the dog lifting one, hence the comments on it )I can walk a decent amount on a flat surface and feel fine. I want to start swimming again, but it feels dangerous at this point.
I donate blood regularly. Two weeks ago was my 9th time and I almost completely blacked out. Never happened before. Tunnel vision, sweating, extreme nausea, tingly hands, the whole 9 yards. It was awful.
What I've done so far:
- ECG - normal sinus rhythm (ya, I was laying on a table)
- Blood work - slightly low ferratin, but my doctor wasn't super concerned, I've had lower in the past and never felt like this. Hemoglobin was fine at blood donation. Thyroid hormones stable (taking desiccated thyroid, not levothyroxine)
- Holter monitor - getting results tomorrow. This is where I'm worried my doctor will just tell me "you're out of shape" or "it's your anxiety" (my anxiety has been well controlled for years, I feel anxious 0%) Why do I think this? Because the holter was done April 16. I hadn't heard anything so I called on Thursday. Receptionist says "oh ya we got those results quickly, if you want the results you have to book an appointment" 🤦♀️ Of course I want the results!! That makes me think the holter was "normal"
- Talked to my endocrinologist- he says not likely Ozempic related and my thyroid hormones are in a good range so not likely that either.
If you've gotten this far thanks for reading. I'm really frustrated by this. Hopefully I can convince my doctor to refer me to a cardiologist.

Hey there, for context I work at a pool and I decided I wanted to bring either my old Xbox 360 (or wii) to play between parties and free swim and my boss is %100 cool with it but he’s worried that I’d either have to leave it in his office or take it home every night because of how bad the moisture gets in the break room, what do yall think?

2024.05.14 06:12 Open_Reflection_5551 Looking for someone I can sublease apartment to at UT
| I live at Lone Star Lofts currently but I’m trying to move in with a friend. I already signed for next year’s lease term back in November, so I can’t terminate my lease contract until I find someone who can replace me. I currently pay a base rent of $943 per month and around $80 for utilities. A tandem parking spot is $60 per month, and individual parking spot is about $100 per month. The apartment isn’t furnished but I have a sofa and coffee table already set up in the living room of the apartment, and I will sell it to everyone who decides to live at the apartment. One roommate who is living here next year also set up a dining table and several chairs. There is also a swimming pool and hot tub on the bottom floor. They’re both pretty clean, but sometimes the hot tub doesn’t heat up. They have bike racks, mailboxes, and amazon pick up boxes at the front of the apartment as well. I wasn't fully submerged in the water today, but I had some pool water touch and probably splashed on my hair. I'm rocking fulani braids so everything is to the back, practically, but should I worry about washing it? I just washed yesterday and I don't want to ruin my hair. Braids are only a week old now and still in decent condition.

2024.05.14 05:25 Gracerella1110 Hair Damage - Salt Water Pool
Last weekend my daughter (14) swam at a friend’s house. They have a salt water pool that has never given my daughter any trouble in the past. It was her first time swimming there this year.
My daughter’s hair is now dry and sticky. We have tried Paul Mitchell shampoo 3 multiple times along with 2 hair masques and nothing seems to help. Her hair is long, straight, and very fine.
Has this happened to anyone else? How did you fix it? I did order TriSwim shampoo and conditioner which Amazon will deliver tomorrow. Hoping that helps. If anyone else has other advice, we’d be grateful! I’m beginning to worry she’ll need to cut her hair.

2024.05.14 05:15 Weekly_Firefighter74 The betrayal is hitting me super hard tonight.
I cannot believe you can be married to someone and devote your all to them, only for them to treat you suddenly in the most horrific of ways.
I gave my ex wife my all. Two years ago she waited for my father to get to the point of passing away before she started acting crazy and cheating on me. Perfect timing. I had to deal with my parent being ill and a funeral and also deal with a cheating wife who started suddenly calling me abusive and emotionally abusive and all of this other terminology and she took my son away from me and cheated.
She cheated, and cheated, and cheated some more. I tried calling her, reasoning with her, even stupidly sending her money at first. Well, what do you know? Besides the money I voluntarily sent her out of worry for her wellbeing, she stole some of my own money and flew out of state to meet a person off the internet and cheat. She cheated here too. In total I know of 4 people she slept with within 3 months of leaving me. Then she got pregnant by the guy she has been with for the last two years. How long did it take for her to get knocked up? Probably 6-7 months after suddenly breaking up with me (if you want to call it a breakup since we never even had ONE DISCUSSION or conversation about anything).
Now she will randomly text my phone and pretend it’s for our child. I have temp custody, but she will send him a text although it seems like it’s aimed at me just acknowledging her existence as I refuse to say a word to her anymore. She tried once to come back when her and her whatever you call that thing she’s with were having problems. I felt insulted that she felt she could just call me after 2 years and I’d just take her back.
Almost 800 days have since passed as she lives her life as if nothing bad ever happened. She just goes on with a “new normal”, ick…and here I am full of terror over the craziness that transpired. I couldn’t save my marriage. My marriage got destroyed. I thought she was my best friend. She ended up being a murderer in my eyes. Because it feels like my soul got murdered. My days are spent pretending to be normal. I go to work, do activities, but it lingers in my mind just about 24/7.
I will never ever understand how this occurred. I am traumatized. People have advised me to “move on and find someone else.” I would if I wasn’t so traumatized and also developed 100% disinterest in relationships or sex itself. It is like asking a cat if it wants to hop in the swimming pool. I don’t understand any of it, all I know is that I’m extremely tired of my life.

2024.05.14 05:02 FriedChimkin312 Secret pool in a lake?
There was a book that I read as an e-book on an iPad about 10 years ago that was about a teenage couple. I’m pretty sure the book was called “wild child” and I remember the cover being of a woman’s face illuminated in a blue-green glow
Plot: It opens with them on a boat in a lake drinking together, then the girl goes into the lake to swim but gets hit by a boat. The guy thinks she’s dead but finds her in a secret cave with a pool of water, and she’s seemingly unharmed but has gone somewhat crazy? He eventually has her leave the cave but cuts from the propeller of the boat she was hit by start opening up and so she has to go back and stay there.
If anyone could help me find it, that’d be great!

2024.05.14 04:29 Holly_3232 Found a baby turtle in our Pool today
My dad (I still live with my parents) was cleaning our pool, and found this little guy swimming around the bottom. It seems healthy and not concerned about anything. I want to keep it, but my dad wants to throw it into a nearby creek or our “pond” (we have a pond but because of neglect it’s essentially a swamp now.) I‘m looking for advice now on how I can convince my parents to let me keep it, and what is needed to take care of it. I can afford up to about $300 usd of supplies, so if you are aware of a habitst which is of good quality and in that price range, I would be very appreciative of the help.
Also just an extra thing I need help with; I convinced my dad to keep the turtle for some amount of time, but he just left it in this dirty bucket of pool water, which I assume is definitely not healthy. We have a freshwater fish tank, so is there anything I could do with the fish equipment which would give the turtle a slightly cleaner place to live in while it awaits judgement?
I appreciate any advice I get, and hope I will be able to keep this turtle and become a part of this community!

2024.05.14 04:16 80severything What are your comfort episodes that you can keep going to that never stop being funny?
The three big ones for me are
Paddy's Pub Worst bar in Philadelphia: one of my favorites, the kidnapped writer, his next door neighbor, the cat. Both of the articles the guy writes make me laugh my butt off.
The Gang hits the road: They try and take a trip to the grand canyon but never get out of the city, Dee singing to the hitchhiker and kind of flirting with him while drunk at the same time, Mac hitting the guy with the beer bottle. There is so much funny stuff packed into this episode.
Mac and Charlie White trash: Two stories about the gang wanting to go swimming, Dennis and Dee yelling at the guy at the fancy pool. drinking and tossing beer bottles around, Charlie and Mac stuck, Mac trying to figure out the best angle of jumps to do so he can get out.
These are three of my favorite ones that I find myself coming to, sometimes I have a small marathon before bed or something like a couple episodes and I watch these three a lot it seems like.

2024.05.14 04:04 ArkOfTheCube Nuclear weapons are definitely a hoax
| The following documentary explores the surprisingly abundant evidence that nuclear weapons are a hoax. Many of the nuclear explosion videos we have all seen and presumed real are shown to be complete fakes using model trees, houses and cars exploding on a set. The destruction of Hiroshima and Nagasaki appear not to be the result of one large explosion, but rather the result of a fire-bombing campaign comparable in pictures to Tokyo's fire-bombed remains. Hiroshima and Nagasaki also never experienced anything like the hundreds or thousands of years of radiation predicted by nuclear scientists, in fact, vegetation began growing within a month after the bombing, and the Japanese people began rebuilding almost immediately! Some nuclear physicists even claim nuclear weaponry fraudulent based solely on the technical impossibilities of fission material not to be incinerated before triggering the necessary nuclear chain reaction. Tesla even famously tried to split the atom him self and came to the conclusion it didn't release energy: "Let me say that has nothing to do with releasing so-called atomic energy. There is no such energy in the sense usually meant. With my currents, using pressures as high as 15,000,000 volts, the highest ever used, I have split atoms — but no energy was released. I confess that before I made this experiment I was in some fear. I said to my assistants, ‘I do not know what will happen. If the conclusions of certain scientists are right, the release of energy from the splitting of an atom may mean an explosion which would wreck our apparatus and perhaps kill someone. Is that understood?’ My assistants urged me to perform the experiment and I did so. I shattered atoms again and again. But no appreciable energy was released." This was from an interview he did with time magazine back in 1931 so it made me wonder if these anti nuke guys were on to something. The government has a lot of reasons to create a weapon of mass destruction psyop it spreads fear porn thats one thing and convinces people they can cause nuclear armageddon at the flick of a button. Einstein as some people know tried to steal Tesla's spotlight putting him into obscurity but his technology and experiments were very peculiar and show us there's a lot of high strangeness about this reality that's still not well understood. Also In 1986, Galen Winsor a Nuclear physicist Exposed the Nuclear fear scam by licking a pile of highly radioactive uranium off the palm of his hand and ignite a chunk of plutonium into a shower of flaming dust to show how safe these materials were. 2024.05.14 03:21 thisfornsfwww Recovery after anaphylaxis/ stroke
Very long post so I apologize, I just want to establish the timeline to give as much information as I can.
I’m looking for some alternate opinions and ideas.
Rottweiler, nearly 5 years old, 90~ pounds, active and in shape.
April 17/18, she was bit on her face by a snake while on a hike (there’s three kinds of venomous snakes in my area), presumably a copperhead as I did not see or hear a rattle, and I only saw that it was brown (the other venomous species is black). My other two dogs were there, and the first priority was to get all of them away, and assess the situation more.
She was very clearly in pain, so she was rushed to the emergency vet. She was given anti venom, an overnight stay, and returned home the next day. For the next week, she was given painkillers three times a day, some antibiotics, all of which she finished. She returned to normal and was back swimming in the pool and running around.
May 8th I notice her panting a lot, wanting outside and not acting like herself. Upon physically examining her, she had what is best described as a soft but large lump on her neck. I decided to take her to her normal vet.
I told him that she had just recently (a couple weeks ago) been bitten by a snake, and after shaving and examining the lump, he suspected she was bit again as there was certainly a puncture wound. He asked permission to give her a dose of anti venom, and I asked if there are risks involved if it wasn’t a snake bite, or if she didn’t need it, would there be any complications. He assured me there would not be, they’ll administer it, monitor her, and keep her overnight so I gave the okay and went home with her in their care.
He called back a couple hours later, well after closing and he said that I should come back to the vet. She had apparently went into anaphylactic shock and had a stroke after receiving the anti venom. He said that it was a very rare case, as when you give dogs anti venom and monitor them, if certain levels start to rise you just stop giving it to them and the effects reverse before they reach dangerous levels. She apparently had the reaction immediately. I transferred her to an overnight vet which was an experience in itself, as carrying her to my vehicle was not pleasant.. she had no control over her bowls and had a poop/blood mixture coming out of her almost constantly. The overnight vet took her in, I picked her up in the morning to go back to the regular vet per their request. She was obviously very disoriented because of the medications she was on (or, her reaction too) so she had to be carried to/from and her mood was very “dull”.
She stays overnight again, and on Friday I think it’s all good to pick her up. The vet asks to keep her again over the weekend this time, free of charge, to continue to monitor her and make sure she’s getting her fluids.
Today, may 13th I get the go ahead to pick her up. The vet says he’s covering her entire visit which is of course nice.. she’s eating and drinking fine, but she’s having difficulty walking. Instead of her paws going flat and walking, her paws buckle forward (imagine trying to walk on the back of your hand rather than your palm) causing her to stumble.
She was carried into my vehicle and we went home. I lifted her out of the vehicle and set her down, and difficulty walking was certainly an understatement. She maybe took one step before I carried her inside and put her in a closed off living room.
Another thing I would like to note: I gave her a little bit of water in a bowl, and she would lick it maybe once and do something that I’m probably going to have difficulty describing.. imagine you have a popcorn kernel stuck on the back of your tongue and you kind of.. try to rub the back of your tongue against the roof of your mouth to dislodge it. Something stuck in the back of your mouth and you’re trying to remove it without coughing / hands etc. she does that, but quite dramatically. Puts her head down and uses her paw to rub her face while doing the tongue thing. Seemingly no problem eating though - I got her some fresh raw food rather than her kibble and she ate it without issue. She stood up to eat (after I adjusted her paw) and ate it all.
I’ve done a lot in trying to snake proof my back yard, though the area is large. I’ve went out with my dogs every time they’ve been out since and will continue to do so.
So now, my questions:
How long should I wait to try any physical therapy for her, or is that even recommended? If so, what kind of PT? My idea was to put her harness on and kind of lift her up a little and try to get her to walk
The water thing, any thoughts or just give it some time?
Any specific supplements, foods etc she should be having?
Was this a result of negligence on all parts, or just a freak reaction?
Open to any other advice, very much appreciated too. Thank you.

The guy also drank reactor cooling pool water for fun and liked to go swimming in the pool to relax. submitted by ArkOfTheCube to exposingcabalrituals [link] [comments] |

| The following documentary explores the surprisingly abundant evidence that nuclear weapons are a hoax.
