2024.05.14 20:50 RiotDog1312 Feedback on Heavy PA "Tank" build?

Playing around with a second character and wanted the opposite of glass cannon commando, so I'm going for a beefy PA heavy build. This is what I've come up with so far. A breakdown of thoughts below
Strength 15: Heavy Gunner line (3+3+3), Bear Arms 3, Blocker 3
Basic damage essentials, large weight savings, big damage reduction
Perception 3: Grenadier 2, Concentrated Fire 1
Bigger explosions to help with tagging, and having an option to aim for weak spots if I ever need VATS
Endurance 6: Fireproof 3, Cola Nut 2, Good Doggy 1
Damage reduction, and dog food and cola can replace stims for recovery
Charisma 12: Suppressor 3, Tenderizer 3, Friendly Fire 3, Squad Maneuvers 2, Strange In Numbers 1
Improved damage, indirect damage reduction, healing teammates, going faster, being a better mutant
Intelligence 15: Stabilized 3, Batteries Included 3, Power User 3, Power Patcher 3, Portable Power 3.
Damage, weight reductions, and improving both armor core life and Gatling Laser ammo capacity
Agility 6: Thru Hiker 3, Dodgy 3
Carry tons of food instead of chems for healing and Overeater bonuses. More damage reduction, offset by Kinetic Dynamo on chest and cola consumption
Luck 14: Class Freak 3, Bloody Mess 3, Ricochet 3, One Gun Army 3, Starched Genes 2
Better mutations, more damage, more damage reduction, stagger+cripple debuffs
Legendary Perks: Strength, Intelligence, Luck, Electric Absorption, Take One For The Team
Stat points, damage reduction and healing, damage amplifier for tanking
Mutations: Egg Head, Eagle Eyes, Bird Bones, Marsupial, Healing Factor, Scaly Skin, Empath, Herd Mentality, Carnivore, Electrically Charged, Unstable Isotope
Standard boosts, more durability, stronger Strength and damage reduction foods, minor extra damage when taking a beating. Specifically avoiding Speed Demon just to ease Overeaters management.
Gear: Full Overeaters Hellcat, with additional resists, damage on hit, carry weight, Kinetic Dynamo. Hellcat chosen for the extra flat ballistic reduction.
Backup set of Deep Pocketed Weightless Weight Reduction armor and high capacity backpack in case I need to get out of my power armor for looting and farming.
Weapons: Anti-Armor Rapid Rapid Cremator (already acquired) for ranged tagging, Holy Fire for closeup, Furious or Vampires Rapid Rapid Ultracite Gatling for ranged blasting
Obviously this whole build plan assumes grolls and a ton of levels, and I already have some idea of build priority and milestones on the way there, I just want to make sure my big picture plan looks good. I know there's also some adjustments I can make to maximize damage even further, but I wanted full health durability for facetanking events.

2024.05.14 19:44 SSGOldschool A review of the 277 Fury (training and combat rounds) - Spear Review to follow

TLDR: The .277 Fury rounds currently have incredibly tight performance metrics, boasting less than 1 MOA deviation between training and combat rounds. Manufactured with precision by Sig, they outperform traditional .308 rounds in standard deviation (as measured in fps), showing promise for both PRS shooters and military use. However, as production scales up, there's a concern that quality might drop.
I had the unique oppertunity to spend three days living with and shooting the M7 Spear, courtesy of a friend with access to the rifles and ammo. For a comparison, I brought along my 308.
We started our test, not with the Spears but with a Sig Cross 277 PRS to establish a baseline of the 277 Fury capabilities.
Test Rifles Setup:
Sig Cross 277 PRS: 16" barrel plus a Sig SLX suppressor, total 23", paired with a Leupold Mark 5HD 5-25.
Remington 700 PSS: 24" barrel, unsuppressed, sporting a Leupold Mark 4 LT M3.
Ballistics:
The .277 Fury's training and combat rounds are startlingly consistent, staying within one MOA of each other—an impressive feat demonstrating superior accuracy across the board.
MOA—minute of angle—is a measure of angular precision, and a smaller number means better accuracy. 1 MOA at 100 yards is roughly one inch. 1 MOA at 200 yards is roughly two inches. 1 MOA at 300 yards is three inches.
This indicates there should be little difference in accuracy, when switching from the cheaper, training rounds, to the actual combat rounds.
Velocity: Three groups of five rounds of each (training, combat, and .308) were fired over a chronograph.
Training rounds (135gr fmj): 7.7 fps standard deviation
Combat rounds (150gr fmj) : 4.3 fps standard deviation
.308 (168gr Sierra MatchKing): 10.4 fps standard deviation
All the Fury rounds were stamped with SIG.
I was initially surprised with the consistency of the velocity and the small standard deviation. With the scrutiny around Sig and the Army's contract, Sig has likely placed a high emphasis on consistency and quality control around their production rendering this result less surprising.
Grouping Results @100y:
Three groups of five shots were fired from a bench and sled setup, which locked the rifles in place:
Training rounds grouped at .60, .67, and .73 MOA
Combat rounds grouped at .45, .51, and .53 MOA
308 SMK: .35, .45, and .3 MOA
The slight degradation in the Fury rounds' accuracy could stem from the suppressor heating up, as shots were fired in quick succession without much adjustment needed.
The 277 Fury round, as currently produced by Sig, is a sub MOA round at worst, and a .5 MOA round at best.
However, given that Sig’s meticulous attention to detail is what sets these rounds apart, I have to wonder if Lake City (and other manufactures) can maintain this level of quality as production scales up.
Spoiler for the rifle review: While the ammunition is capable of this level of consistency and accuracy, the Spear is not.
edit: As my friend reminds me, he thinks we made a mistake in setting up the groupings at 100 yards. That introduced too many variables that were outside our control. He believes the Fury round is at worst a .75 MOA round, and plans to use it to qualify and compete in next years Mammoth Sniper Challenge.

2024.05.14 16:51 OutlandishOctopus Mete sfx vs Mete sfx pro

I'm sold on Canik after all the research I've done. I'm looking for a pistol for home defense and general self defense for when shit hits the fan. Not looking for concealed carry, which is why I'm looking at the Sfx. My question is, besides the threaded barrel, what is the difference between the sfx and the sfx pro? I don't plan on getting a suppressor anytime soon but it's nice to have the option down the road. The trigger looks different on the 2 guns. Do you think it's worth the extra $100 to just get the pro? Thank you all!

2024.05.14 01:35 SariusSkelrets How do I get the psychic suppressor to affect everyone?

I'm planning a psy-deaf colony where they benefit from everyone else being psy-suppressed
The problem is that psychic suppression can only affect either men or women, not everyone. Building more psychic suppressors won't change that
Is there a way to make psychic conditions to affect everyone? Or at least allow two of them to reach that result?

2024.05.13 23:56 imstaringataplant First suppressed platform opinons?

I posted about a week ago that I found a CZ 75 P-01 Omega in urban grey. I also have a factory blemish M9A4 Centurion on the way.
My plan is to send the M9A4 to LTT. However, seeing comments about the quality of models made in the USA are giving me a bit of buyers remorse...
With the P01, I am debating sending it to CGW or keeping it stock if I ever decide to flip it. It is worn-in and the single action is very smooth. I'm Not sure if collectors would rather have it OG, though. since it's a discontinued model.
I would love opinions as I'm just dipping my toes back into firearms ...but the banks of the river are slippery...
I would appreciate suggestions for reliable sights and lights. I don't care a ton about brands, just want reliable. I try to watch gundeals and gun.deals as much as possible.
I think I have the suppressors covered. I ordered an Osprey 45 V2 and a Sparrow for my "wife's Bobcat."
At some point, I may get a FNX 45 Tactical but my next focuses will be on a SBR and a 10/22 breakdown of some nature.

2024.05.13 01:53 TheBigFish2004 My uneducated, complete newbie review: BCM 14.5 + OCL Polonium K

My uneducated, complete newbie review: BCM 14.5 + OCL Polonium K
Disclaimer: This is my first time ever shooting suppressed. Ever. … I also have zero data points to compare this to, so I’m driving in the dark. Enjoy!
Since no one actually shoots their Reddit specials (BCM upper + Aero Lower) I’d figured I’d be the guinea pig and be the first to try this setup out for you all!
The rig: - BCM 14.5 mk2 mid-length gas - BCM a5 buffer system with the T2 weight - BCM mk2 charging handle - standard BCG, factory BCM gas block and tube - OCL Polonium K / Rearden R2 muzzle device / Atlas
The ammo: - PSA 77gr OTM 5.56
The range: - Outside
The story: Never shot or had a suppresser. People say how 5.56 isn’t a great supressed round (it isn’t, I agree) so really never felt the need to suppress my ARs in 5.56… as cool as the idea was, meh. … the last year I changed my tune and started doing research on here, prescience, YouTube, etc… THEN this fast approvals started happening. Tax return time couldn’t have come at a better moment… I’m so i jumped head first into the internet darling: OCL Polonium K
I was concerned with gas. I had the BCM already and almost went with the Hux flow556k strictly because I was worried about gas, but with the reviews and price of the OCL polo k, I had to jump.
My ONLY experience with a suppressed was actually a few weeks ago at the range … a guy had just got a Hux 7.62 Ti and was shooting 300bo subs - long story short, k thought it sounded like shit and was completely unimpressed. It had the infamous “booming” which I really didn’t like.
I was worried. 5.56 sucks surpressed and this magical flow through on 300 SUBs sounded like shit, which I thought subs were supposed to the reason 300bo subs even exist is to suppress it.
I was worried my 5.56 can was going to suck and be loud as F, and I would be completely gassed out in the process.
Went to the range today to finally shoot my Reddit special BCM upper+Aero Lower+Polo K to see what all the hype is about.
The review: Wow. Fucking awesome. I see why people love suppressors.
Firstly the sound - I wasn’t really sure what to expect. 5.56 is loud, period. I have a K can. … no data to compare, but I was really impressed with the sound - tone and “loudness” of the can. The performance was awesome. I’m hooked completely.
Secondly the experience- really cool just talking to people at the range. Literally every single person came over at one point or another, and was interested in the can and how it sounded, etc. I let one guy shoot it. Just really cool how gun community is sometimes.
I shot 80 rounds of the 77gr OTM.
I “mag dumped” 2 different strings of 10-15 of fast firing to test the gas.
Maybe it’s the MK2 upper, or maybe the mk2 charging handle (pretty sweet), or maybe the rifle buffer and T2… but…
Was there gas “around me” sure was… was I getting “gassed out” or “gas to the face” ? No.
Could I sit at a bench and unload 2 full 30rd mags and be OK? I honestly do think so… it’s not terrible, and I don’t plan on doing mag dumps, but wanted to test rapid firing today ‘for science’
Now - how was my rifle running? BEFORE putting the can on, with the T2 buffer, I have perfect 3pm ejection.
WITH the Polo K can… I was getting consistent 1:30pm ejection. Overgassed for sure.
But should I really do anything about this? Maybe try a T3 buffer?
I was so worried about gas this and gas that. I did not want an adjustable gas block or adjustable BCG. My goal was rock solid reliability… mostly shooting supressed with this but want it to run without the can.
I was obsessively browsing the internet for people with similiar setups and ways they mitigated the gas. Obviously shooting outside helps a lot… inside range, I’d probably feel different. I do have an indoor range I go to sometimes so I’ll give it a try one day.
I also have a BCM 11.5, non mk2, elw barrel - the 11.5” is even MORE notoriously over gassed then the 14.5… haven’t put the can on this one, but will. I am curious how much, if at all the BCM mk2 upper receiver helps… will also try a standard raptor charging handle vs a gas busting BCM one.
Last thing - I knew shooting supressed was dirty, but damn… completely different than non supressed for sure. … may get a chrome BCG solely for this reason and that seems most logical for a supressed gun in my mind.
Happy shooting all!
TL;DR: Awesome, not as gassy as the internet makes some things out to be, before throwing a ton of money at agb, adjustable BCG or other tuning, just go shoot your gun.
(Pardon any typos, I am going to hit post and Reddit doesn’t allow post edits with photos for some reason)
Thanks for reading!

2024.05.12 22:31 ibob4tacoz Varmint Rifle Build - Chop/Thread OE Barrel vs. Aftermarket Lightweight

Hey 10/22 community, I'm currently building out my rifle to be a backpacking/varmint rifle and wanted some testimony on which barrel would be lighter.
I plan on grabbing a suppressor in the near future and am not sure if I should just get my factory barrel chopped/threaded, or if I should just snag an Acculite for a little more. Acculite's weight specification for their barrel is very vague, so I thought to see if you guys could give any input.
Looking to cut down to 16.5", on a Magpul X-22 MOE stock.
Also, if anyone would like to add input for this as well: What are your guys' preferred magnifications for this? I'm debating if I want to go with the Leupold FX-I fixed 4x for an ultralightweight optic, or a 1.5-4x for a little bit more versatility.
EDIT: Forgot to specify that this is a standard 10/22.

2024.05.12 14:59 MagicMissile27 XXVIIth Praetorian Infantry, Part 12. Misfits Making Mischief.

The main force of Praetorians steadily tracked down the road from Westbridge Crossing, neat red ranks escorted by armored vehicles and small detachments of scouts from each battalion (a new development directed by the Colonel). Meanwhile, miles away from both them and from the safety of Westbridge’s defensive lines, the five black-uniformed and armored Praetorians of Team ARTEMIS gathered around a tree stump in the slowly melting snow as the sun started to approach the horizon. “Let’s review the plan,” Lieutenant Idena Verona said, unfolding a small map and laying it on the tree stump. “The T’au have a small listening post in the hillside approximately one mile from our current location, here. Colonel Burton’s men identified a likely command center here, and a radio tower here, hidden by the treeline. Our task is to destroy it without the T’au getting off a message that we’re there. We know there’s natural cover all along this side due to that rock face, and they have sentry drones along here. That’s why we’re going to go in from this direction.”
Sergeant Virginia Woolworth nodded. “I’ll take the left with you and Raycraft, ma’am,” she said, pointing to a small hillock overlooking the post. “We can approach from here and have a good firing position.” “And I’ll blow the tower while Violette covers me,” Corporal Rachel Darling said with a nod of her own. “Correct,” Idena said. “But don’t detonate the explosives until we give the signal that the T’au are changing guards. They’re likely to change watches just after sunset, which gives us just enough time to get there. Once the tower’s blown and we’ve picked off the guards, we go in fast and quiet, clear each room, and then collapse the place – bring the hillside down on it.” Darling grinned at the prospect of detonating the entire complex. “Say no more, ma’am.” “Good. Let’s move,” Idena said with a nod.
“Comms check,” Corporal Lucy Raycraft said into her vox-headset. “Loud and clear, how me?” whispered Specialist Violette Wake-Stewart’s voice in her ear. “Have you the same,” she replied, tapping the tiny microphone control. “Ready to crack this tin of corned grox, Sarge?” she asked Woolworth with a smile. “Ready as ever,” Woolworth replied thinly. The team of two and the team of three split ways and proceeded to each side of the small grey concrete building under the eaves of the rocky hillside, and Raycraft took her place beside the LT and the sergeant. Idena had unslung the long sniper rifle on her back and fitted a noise and light suppressor to it, crouching down beside a frostbitten bush for cover as the sun inched below the horizon. She could see the two fire warriors in their winter camouflage standing guard outside the building, shifting slightly in place as they waited. “Relief section’s coming in,” Woolworth said quietly. “I see them,” Idena nodded and shifted to a prone position. “Take positions.” Raycraft and Woolworth took places near her and steadied their lasguns. “Tower team, status?”
Darling slid softly down a snow bank and up to the foundation of the tower, which was surrounded by a thin fence of barbed wire. “Violette, got the clippers?” “Got them,” Wake-Stewart said quietly, sliding beside her and taking out a set of wire cutters. After checking to see if the wires were electrified, she snipped them one by one, allowing Darling safe passage inside. “I’m going to circle around this side, give you better cover,” she said, as Darling shrugged off her pack and began to place three small blocky explosive charges on the tripod legs of the radio tower. “Tower team, status?” crackled the LT’s voice. “Planting charges now,” Wake-Stewart replied. “Going over the ridge line to get a better view for cover.” “Negative, hold position,” Woolworth cut in. “The sentry drones have visibility on the ridge, remember?” “Okay, didn’t know that,” the redhead muttered.
“It was in the intel briefing. You did read the intel briefing, right?” asked the sergeant, not sounding amused. “Of course I did,” Wake-Stewart said, spotting a sentry drone and pressing herself against the hillside. The line was silent for a moment except for a skeptical throat-clearing from the sergeant. “Alright, I didn’t read it, I skimmed it, happy?” she said, rolling her eyes. Idena’s voice broke in. “We can talk about that later. The guard section is about to change now. Stand by for –“ Her transmission was drowned out by a deafening boom as the radio tower’s legs detonated in a ball of flame, bringing the spindly metal structure down in a heap of scrap. “What the – fracking hell, weapons free!” Idena shouted into the comms. “Corporal, what in the hells were you thinking?” “Sentry drone would’ve spotted the explosives,” Darling said with a shrug, visible only to Wake-Stewart as the two of them sprinted down the bank, shooting behind them at the now-agitated sentry drones. “Didn’t really have time to ask for permission.”
Idena clenched her jaw in frustration as she squeezed the trigger a third time, nailing the fire warrior she was aiming at directly through the sternum. Three of the four fire warriors who had been outside during the guard change were now dead, but the fourth had run inside to warn the others – exactly what she hadn’t wanted to happen. “We need to move in now, not wait for more of them to come out,” Raycraft said, and without asking, slung her lasgun and vaulted the hilltop. Woolworth looked like she wanted to punch someone, but she couldn’t argue with the logic, so her and Idena ran after Raycraft, reaching the door and stacking up on both sides. “Breach on three,” Idena ordered, having switched her rifle for a lightweight las-carbine repeater. “One – two – three,” and Raycraft shot the lock off the door. Simultaneously, the other door into the facility blew off its hinges with a bang as Darling detonated another small charge. “Tally-ho and all that,” the corporal said with a smirk as she shot two T’au in the process of rushing toward the door to investigate the noise. “LT, we’re in.”
The remaining T’au inside the facility proved little obstacle, either falling to lasgun shots or Raycraft’s combat knife. As she finished gutting the facility commander with her knife, she turned back to the LT. “Think that’s the last of them, ma’am. The report said there were 11, right?” The bang of lasgun fire came from the other side of the command center. “12,” Wake-Stewart said with satisfaction, kicking the dead T’au she had just shot. “See, I told you I paid attention to the intel briefing. Just the important parts.” Idena rolled her eyes. This would take some work, but at least the five of them could get the job done well enough. “Corporal, let’s blow this place and get out of here.” “We really should use names, not ranks, when you think about it,” Darling suggested helpfully. “There are two corporals, after all.” “Rachel, then,” Idena said with emphasis. “Rig this place to blow and hold the back-talking for later.” Four minutes later, they slid down the snowbank away from the facility and looked back at it, now barely visible in the near-total darkness. “And…now.” The facility exploded, sending chunks of concrete spinning down the hill as the rocky hillside above it slid down to cover it. “Lady Britannica’s favorite team of misfits one, Xenos zero,” quipped Wake-Stewart as she slung her rifle and the team began the trek back to Westbridge.

2024.05.12 01:01 PornStache95 Opening a gun shop: some basic questions.

So the idea of starting my own business has been floating around in my head for ages now. I've looked at all kinds of industries and I always end up coming back to the idea of getting into firearms. Mainly due to it being the one subject I have a decent amount of knowledge in. I'd say I'd have a more than basic understanding of how the industry work. I know of the types of FFLs needed depending on the type of business you'd start as well as being a but of a gun nut. That being said, I know for a fact that even though I know some, I don't know enough. Since why I'm here in the first place. My basic idea would be to start off with a brick and morter retail space as well as an online storefront the would play second to the brick and morter until things would grow and then shift to focusing to online orders and have the walk in retail space as a business headquarters. The area where I would have the store front is a rural city of a population of just over 15k. With around 4 privately owned shops and one big box store. Two of those shops being pawns shops, one being a home based ffl primarily dealing in gunsmithing and "certified firearms appraisals" whatever that means. And the last being an outdoor clothing and hunting gear sporting good store that doesn't sell guns yet is listed as a gun store on Google. The last and biggest competition being the big box store. They don't do ffl transfers and there windowed gen m3 pmags cost 19 bucks compared to 15 I've seen most everywhere else. I know my clientele would be limited and the overall competition would be steep. But I feel if I offer a store front with a wide variety of goods, for both high end and more affordable options. Mostly the later, the median home price is 110k. Offering world class customer service as well as things like all types of magazines and accessories that other shops on the area might not have while still offering them and at a good deal. Things like mag pouches, chest rigs, body armor and even atf items like suppressors. Again, these are all just ideas. I'd have to do alot of planning, boat loads of paper work and need a significant amount of start up capital to get on my feet. So yeah, questions.
Is this unrealistic given the area and demographics? Would this type of business not last long or at all?
Start costs? 300k or 300 million? Would there be too much competition in the area to make a profit and what would I need to stand out form the others offering similar goods and services?
Ps. This would be in northeast Texas.

2024.05.11 20:10 nearbysystem Pistol suppressor host, build or buy?

I'm looking to get an AR pistol as a suppressor host. I'm starting with a stripped lower but I'm not sure whether to buy an upper or make one. My main concern is that I'm using a fairly high back pressure 556 can (which I have already, I bought it before I knew how limited it would be). It's compact and suppresses well but it's very gassy on my existing 16 and 20" ARs.
So knowing that, should I plan to use an adjustable gas block from the start, and thus build or modify the upper, or is there a go-to preassembled upper you would recommend (10.5 to 12.5 max) that's already ideal for a high back pressure silencer? Let's say < $1000 for the upper.
If I was to go with an adjustable gas block it would have to be something like the Riflespeed, I'm not messing about with tiny allen keys and whatnot.
This doesn't have to be anything fancy, it's a range toy, but I'm willing to go above the cheap options if it buys me something in gas mitigation.

2024.05.11 17:43 Allah_Watchbar Help with a multi-purpose AR15 build concept

I'm hoping to hear what parts and accessories you would use to build a rifle with the following goal:
Owning a single AR15 (as your only rifle) with a wide spread of capability. Something that can reach out to 400-500 yards (if thats a realistic goal?), but can also be used close up. I understand that asking for a high-performer in both categories is naturally impossible. That said, I'd like to find the sweet spot, mainly in barrel length. I'm interested in parts that are medium-high quality. I was considering a BCM upper for the price, but I've heard people say their DD uppers are noticeably more accurate then their BCM uppers when trying to reach out. Maybe you guys have an opinion on that.
The idea I had in my head was a 14.5 barrel, but I'm open to an argument for 13.7 or 12.5 if one of those is a better middle ground... it appears there isn't a huge jump in ballistics between 12.5 and 14.5.
As an example, the build I'be been contemplating includes:
Optic options are: LPVO (with piggy back RD) ACOG (with piggy back RD) T2 / HS515GM with 3x magnifier.
Any argument for one over the other?
Any advice is appreciated. I don't really know what I'm doing, but want to plan it out well before I start buying stuff.

2024.05.10 03:31 wawahoagiez Budget Rattler Upper

So I’m interested in building an SBR for home defense/truck/bag. Originally I was looking into the Rattler, but it’s just a bit too much outside my budget. Ideally, I’d like to get close to the Rattler as far as length, and I plan on adding a suppressor in the future. I have my lower and a lower build planned out, but I’m a bit stumped for the upper. I’ve only built lowers and I’d prefer a complete upper, but not against a full upper build given that I can’t find too many options in the 5.5 inch range. Any suggestions for the following: 5.5 inch barrel, can be suppressed in the future, but still used now unsuppressed, no more than $800 for the complete upper, bonus if receiver and hand guard are FDE.
Also, is 5.5 inches viable? I’ve seen a lot of stuff on here about most suppressors only working with 7.5 inches and above

2024.05.10 00:38 AxD_ Guidance on SBR and suppressor

I'm planning on buying the .22lr mp5, removing the faux suppressor, shortening the barrel and adding a suppressor but I am new to this.
Correct me if I am wrong but the order I have to do things is:
  1. Purchase firearm
  2. Submit Form 1 for SBR and suppressor
  3. Once tax stamp is given, take to gunsmith to complete work
Questions I have are what suppressor would you recommend that integrates nicely with the mp5? I want it as OEM as possible. Also, does it need to be pinned or can it be threaded on.

2024.05.09 14:33 Correct_Reference_35 10+ days & no docusign email

Hello!
Searched the subreddit but don’t see anything specific to my situation.
Completed everything at LGS through kiosk. Purchased the suppressor that was in stock at the LGS. Everything looks completed on the SS app but don’t see anything in regards to my order or order status. Only thing I see is the option to attach form application?
I have not received my docusign email and not seeing anything in regards to the order status makes me believe I am missing something somewhere… any assistance? Plan on calling LGS today to see what they think.

2024.05.09 14:12 No-Factor-3011 .300BLK

Does anyone have a tucked suppressor for a .300 Blackout? I know it can get hot if you’re running a ton of rounds through it but I’ve heard that people are only comfortable doing it with this caliber. I’ve been thinking about doing it since I only ever plan on shooting subsonic anyways but just want other peoples thoughts before buying anything.

2024.05.09 13:32 LuciusL [WTS][ON] 2 TM MWS builds

Hey all,
Getting mostly out of the sport and looking to move into another hobby. I have two MWS builds i'd like to sell - im negotiable on if someone wants to buy a gun without all the attachments. Reach out to me.
Next up is my MK18-esque clone. LOOKING FOR $1450 FOR GUN AND ALL PICTURED ATTACHMENTS AND MAGAZINES.
Internals are stock with the exception of a laylax hop arm and a FEDA NPAS. PICTURES ARE HERE: https://imgur.com/a/LWFRfft . Will include 4 GM Pmags reshelled into FDE which is a pain in the ass to get here in Canada. THESE ARE V2B2 gm pmags so they DO HAVE A SLOW BOTTOM LEAK. One magazine has had its seal replaced (will be marked with tape on shipping) and no longer has leak issue. I will be including replacement seals i just literally dont have the time to sit and replace three more, its so boring. Once again - these mags will work for a full field day without issue, but when stored will lose all their gas over 2-3 days.
EXTERNALS INCLUDE :
  • magpul ctr stock clone
  • Radian Raptor charging handle
  • RS mission first tactical engage pistol grip
  • Holy Warrior HWO S1 Gen 2 EXPS3
  • RS BCM grip
  • Surefire scout clone flashlight with pushbutton, picatinny mounted
  • FMA PEQ15, dont think the flashlight works on this one just the laser, but i cant even remember anymore.
  • Surefire RC2 suppressor clone with the glassbreaker front
This gun is completely unfielded. It has fired maybe 3-4 mags for testing purposes in a basement. Suppressor is of course QD so it can get very short. It IS unfortunately a genuine TM MK18 so you will need the tool to remove the handguard if you plan to change it up.
Can meet in the durham region area within reasonable distance. Can provide shooting videos on request. Both guns will be coming with:
  • the optional other tips for the suppressors
  • whatever front and back inserts for the pistol grips of their respective colors i still have

2024.05.09 03:19 whatcha_eaton_ Update: MCX Suppressed Issues

I posted ~2 months ago about my MCX Spear 11.5 not cycling with the SiCo Velos can attached.
In my first attempt to fix it I tried get as many rounds on the gun as possible (unsuppressed). I started having the exact same problem without the suppressor: I fire one shot, the bolt locks back to the rear and gets jammed in the open position.
Next I contacted Sig customer service. Since I bought the gun less than a year ago, they repaired it for free. The notes from the gunsmith stated there was damage to the binding on the charging handle, so they replaced it. I took the gun to the range and it shot flawlessly unsuppressed, however I still had the jamming issue with the suppressor. I contacted Sig again about the issue. The rep I talked to said there is sometimes a “break-in” period for the MCX when it comes to the gas escaping the gun. They offered to take it back for another look, but I decided to try shooting the gun more first.
Sure enough the more I shot the less it jammed. I now have ~400 rounds on my MCX and it hasn’t been jamming at all.
There were a few people that asked me what I thought of the MCX Velos combo. It’s by far my favorite AR I’ve ever shot. It’s very soft shooting with almost no gas to the face. One I thing I will recommend with the Velos is replacing the ASR mount. I had the mount fully screwed on and in the locked position, but my can went flying down the range. I’ve since changed to the Q Plan B mount with the Rearden FHD. The flash hider is a very good suppressor mount, however if you’re looking for flash mitigation I’d recommend something else.

2024.05.08 23:34 Hell_Diver23 SLR upper to Aero m5 lower

I'm planning on building a 8.6 pistol upper for pigs to swap on and off an existing aero lower I have. And due to my barrel being 12in I wanted to have the 11.5 handgard slr offers so I don't have to worry about suppressor incompatibility. Just want a straight forward answer that this upper will fit the lower due to their website saying no and other sites saying yes.
