2024.04.22 00:05 Lutzelien Just listened to Chelsea Peretti's episode in the "WTF" podcast with Marc Maron...

... And man, she's hilarious! I haven't seen her much outside of B99 but damn it was one of the best podcasts I've heard in a long time, couldn't stop smiling and laughing through nearly the whole thing besides the few serious things they talked about (it was in the middle of Covid).
So obviously we should never compare an actress with their fictional character, but this episode made me wish the creators and producers would've allowed Chelsea to be a little more of herself while playing Gina, just like I have the feeling Andy did. I think it would've made her character much more likeable.
Give it a listen if you are bored!

2024.04.12 03:54 Sharp-Let7366 Gina appreciation post! Share your favorite Gina moment!

Gina isn’t necessarily my favorite character, but I still really like her a lot and feel like she definitely gets a really bad rep. I’m rewatching the show for like the 30th time lol and I really enjoy quoting the show along with the characters as they say it, and I’m noticing that most of those quotable moments I enjoy are Gina lines and it made me really start to appreciate it her character more. I think my favorite Gina moment is during the arc where they work with Holt’s old buddy Bob from the FBI, it’s revealed that he’s dirty when he tries to kill Holt in the hospital, but they manage to capture him. The hospital ends up going on lock down, and to get a captured Bob out they have Gina pretend she’s a mental patient suffering from grandiose delusional disorder lol she acts like she’s Serena Williams and desperately needs to go to Wimbledon and it makes Bob’s claims of being a captured FBI agent seem just as crazy 😂 it’s just such a genius play and Chelsea Peretti’s acting is so crazy and hilarious, I just love it lol

2024.03.28 01:38 ImaginaryAd3185 idea(s) for orpheus

The Elevator pitch-
So one night I am lying on the couch perusing shows trying to pass time when I see storyteller Greek myths(I was raised on classical Grecian mythology) and decide arbitrarilyto watch "Orpheus and Eurydice" later that night while looking for inspiration for a game of hunter the vigil I see Orpheus-instantly I'm hooked- I start thinking of the frighteners, flatlines, stir of echoes,R.I.P.D, 13 ghosts, ghost and Jacobs ladder. I had been watching alot of "BLUE SKIES ERA" USA network shows like Monk, psych and Burn Notice. I hatch the idea for this show-I know, I know Orpheus is originally intended to be a limited run wod game played like a film, with the original corebook being the first twenty minute hook-but I get the idea for my own blue skies era USA show meets something from showtime that's dark like "Barry" or "Dexter"
Synopsis-
the year is 2006 in the city of Fort Lauderdale,Florida and exiled mafia con man Chris "the exorcist" Bonofiglio is moonlighting as a private investigator when his old underworld connections call in a favor, now Chris is gainfully employed by some shady business calling itself "the Orpheus group" and he must now contend with his old criminal past while shedding his nihilism in a eerie supernatural black comedy.
The Fancast-
Comedian Mike Recine as Chris Bonofiglio
Christopher Bonofiglio was a confidence scheme man who contracted for the philly and jersey Mobs,he's a dry-ish drunk who earned the nickname "the excorist" because "he makes the spirits disappear" a few years before the start of the series Chris got diagnosed with terminal liver failure. His younger brother Jay decided to get the money for his brothers medical expenses from sticking up a sitdown conference between the new york/jersey crime families and Philly Irish mob. when Jay turned up missing, he approached his mentor Paul Romano to ask for a pardon on Jay's behalf. he Never did find Jay and that night Chris took a bullet behind the ear while starting his car to search for Jay and spent 18 months in a deep coma declared brain dead before he woke up. his drinking got worse with his marriage dissolving and for fear of retaliation he was quietly retired to "the sticks" of the Florida north shore.
Comedian Nate Bargatze as Jay Bonofiglio
Jason Bonofiglio Was Chris's childish younger brother and an up-and-coming mob stickup man, he is missing declared dead somewhere presumably in the state of new jersey.
Comedian Paul Virzi as Anthony Bonofiglio
Chris and Jay's emotionally unstable father and a labor racketeer for the jersey mafia of the mid 1970's, he is missing presumed dead in the state of new jersey.
Bret Ernst as Rick Tomasino
Jays partner in crime and a childhood friend of the Bonofiglio boys Rick went into selling used cars to pay into his debt for robbing the sitdown he unofficially works for Paul.
Comedian Stavros Halkias as Nicodemus "Fat-Nick" Papadopoulos
Fat Nick was in life an accomplished adult film magnate, restaurateur and smuggler for the New jersey mafia, having started out in the Baltimore Maryland Greek community Nick was forcibly retired to Florida much like Chris but instead chose to continue his criminal enterprise and further embroil the families into the Miami drug wars of the eighties before he was violently disposed of by someone unknown in the commission, Chris seems to think of Nick as an Hallucination or some sort of a embodiment of his conscious and what might happen if he decided to go against Paul .
Comedian Nick Dipaolo as Paul Romano
Paul Romano is a college educated Mafioso and labor racketeer for the New Jersey mafia, Paul spoke on Chris's behalf when Jay robbed the sitdown-which he was attending as underboss to the Newark crew- and had Chris secretly moved to Florida in the weeds.
Comedian Joe Derosa as David Romano
Paul Romano's adopted nephew David is a childhood friend of Chris, he a kvetch who is historically unlucky with women, at his parent's request Paul quietly put David through school and into a comfortable and legitimate business. He maintains contact with Chris despite his uncle's warnings and keeps Chris connected to life back east.
Henry foley as officer Mike Dempsey, (Matt rife as young Dempsey)
A crooked cop who's claim to fame is he was briefly featured on the first forty-eight by the a&e network, Dempsey takes gratuities anyway he can and would make a great criminal if not for his being a shoddy police officer.
Jamar Neighbors as Jabreel Clark
A street performer and informant for Chris Jabreel is a graduate of clown college and Florida transplant Having Taken on jobs for Chris purely for the money he doesn't think very much of Chris and doubts his claims about his criminal past, he believes Chris is a chronic liar and doesn't fully understand his job with Chris.
Nikki Glaser as Judith Bonofiglio-Schwartz
Judy is Chris's b*itch of an ex-wife and Noah Schwartz' wife, she dies as a result of Chris's interference and becomes a poltergeist who haunts Noah and another informant for Chris.
Rick Glassman as Noah Schwartz
Judy Bonofiglio's new husband Noah is a former womanizer and successful real estate agent from New York, After Judy's death his true colors come out as he goes back to his old ways and turns his once respectable home into a den of vice.
Tim Dillon as the Voice of mama Bonofiglio (Chelsea Peretti as a young mama Bonofiglio)
Chris and Jay's mentally ill chain-smoking mother Mama Bonofiglio is not actually Italian and tends berate her sons and late husband-she seems to subside by extorting money from her neighbors and runs a small but successful illegal pharmaceutical scheme.
Collin Quinn as Kevin Mulaney
Kevin is an associate to the Philly Irish Mafia and a New York historian whose family were founding members of the westies, Kevin often offers Chris unsolicited and convoluted advice when he is in trouble. He is the man who actually convinced New York to let Chris live Providing he work off the debt for Jay's robbery.
Sal Vulcano as Vince Diaz
Chris's only known connection to the mysterious company called Orpheus Vince is a man of few words and acts as dispatch and coordinator for Chris when seeking out Clients, he is formerly what is known as a sleeper having spent untold amounts of time "undercover" as a member of the deceased. When Vince does speak candidly it is often needlessly curt or paranoid delusion that he spouts off while starring off in the distance.

2024.03.24 09:34 FunCorner1643 I know people hate on Gina but you know what I love about her?

You can tell she (Chelsea Peretti) loves being a part of the show. You can see in her smile how much she thinks things are funny in scenes, and she brings the best out of other characters by being the villain sometimes. Yeah, the flirting with terry is unnecessary, but her scenes with Jake and just her smile and even winning a heist in the way she did, and how she’s brutally honest really does make the show great. The show wouldn’t be the same without her
