Breaking car window in submerged cars
It feels jarring to me where you could simply open your car doors and leave to swim away after plunging your car off a pier into the sea despite the water pressure in GTA 4 and 5, but not in Chinatown Wars where it's not a flagship title yet you have such a realistic minigame. The same could be said to the car hotwiring minigame. Would you like to have this in GTA 6?

2024.05.13 02:00 Quiet_Historian1841 Red Dead Book Inside Franklin's House

In Grand Theft Auto V, the player can find a book called 'Red Dead' written by a J. Marston on a large bookshelf at Franklin's house. For a long time, this book was said to be about Jack Marston, who could have written a book about the Van Der Linde gang and his father's life.
Theorizing that Jack wrote a book years later is not out of the question, as he was shown to enjoy the company of Wild West adventures in both Red Dead Redemption games, however this book is merely a nod to the game that came before Grand Theft Auto V. Other books, such as 'American History Y' by H. Potter, 'Life In The Hood: Uncircumcised', and 'Malcolm Eggs, out of the pan into the fire', contain references to pop-culture icons and movies, among other jokes. Additionally, Rockstar's decision to omit the first name of the author somewhat solidifies this notion. In GTA Chinatown Wars, a BAWSAQ stockbroker named Toni C. reaches out to the main protagonist through the email app; this character is a reference to Toni Cipriani, protagonist of GTA Liberty City Stories. (It is both a reference and a completely separate thing).

2024.05.12 09:26 natediffer Rating GTA Main themes 🎶

Yes, this is from best to worst. So the top is the best, the bottom is the worst (they're all good.)
GTA: Chinatown wars- This theme is so criminally underrated, the song's lyrics perfectly describes the game, not to mention the game itself is amazing, most underrated gta game by far, there is NO reason gta 1 should have more sales. Not to mention MF doom makes a debut in the song!
GTA: Liberty City Stories- This would be at the top, if i wasn't such an MF doom fan, sorry lcs
GTA- This song's just a banger. Nothing more, nothing less. It even plays in the radios of gta 3.
GTA: Vice city- I may be a little biased here, but it gives a sense of victory, and has a little 80's asthetic to it.
GTA: Vice city stories- Same reason as above, albeit this one sounds more heroic, which makes sense. Considering Vic is a better person than tommy when it comes to morals and generally has good intentions.
GTA: Advance- Most people forget this game exists, and rightfully so, but the theme itself has a nice ring to it, nice lyrics and great instrumental.
GTA 3- Pretty good theme, nothing special to it. Fits claude's calm and collected demeanor, i like to think this is claude's character theme, not the game itself's.
GTA San Andreas- Okay, before anyone jumps on me for this one, the instrumental version is what's this low, it's just very repetitive and has no variety, albeit catchy. The one with the rap lyrics would definitely be top 3.
GTA 4- Fits the dark and evil tone of liberty city and niko's life, still a bit repetitive but the part where the violin (i think its a violin?) comes in goes super hard.
GTA 5- Good theme, ya'll know what part i mean that goes hard, just that part though, nothing else is super special.
GTA 2- Doesn't fit a gta game in my opinion, its way too calm for a chaotic game, You can take this as being claude speed's theme though, even though gta 2 claude isn't calm at all.
GTA London- This is a gta theme? I thought it was from a mr bean episode.

I have 60 games installed and 9 of them wont work. After the NDS Bootstrap logo goes away, it stays tuck on a white screen. When booting up the second time and thereafter, it gets stuck on a white screen after the brief Save text. I tried using twlfix but it didn't change a thing. I checked the games on the compatibility list and they're all compatible. Can anyone help? For reference, the games are:

2024.05.07 11:36 Just_a_Player2 GTA, Postal and Vampire Survivors enter the bar — MANIAC game review

GTA, Postal and Vampire Survivors enter the bar — MANIAC game review
I'm talking about a new action roguelike, the author of which decided to mix Vampire Survivors with some of the most popular action games of the late 90s
Another addition has recently happened to the Vampire Survivors copycat regiment. A game with the telling name Maniac was released, the author of which tried not only to recreate the popular gameplay formula, but also to add something new to it. We're figuring out what did and what didn't work out very well.
Steam Store
The six playable characters of Maniac are very different people who share one thing in common: they are fed up with everything and they fly off the rails, rushing around their hometown, causing a fuss and wreaking havoc. Of course, the guards are trying to stop them, so soon a real war begins on the streets.
https://preview.redd.it/chr08gew1zyc1.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8351dd856d8751571cd6b28f3c401a6d46b54d86
There are several things that distinguish the new game from Vampire Survivors. So, the influence of the original GTA and Postal is clearly visible in it. The view from above (as if from a police helicopter chasing you), a variety of firearms, citizens running in all directions with wild screams immediately set a special atmosphere and the ability to steal almost any vehicle in the game makes the gameplay faster and more dynamic. Actually, you will most likely spend most of your time driving, shooting out of windows and running away from increasingly dangerously equipped opponents. If at first you are being chased by ordinary cops, then soon the army comes to their aid, then some special units and at the end of each session the hero is generally fired from laser cannons at real flying saucers.
Driving is simple, but fun. The car responds quickly to commands, deftly enters sharp turns and pleasantly throws vehicles in its path in different directions. Especially after some level up. Of course, different cars have slightly different physics, some of them are heavier, some are lighter, some are a little easier to drive, others are a little more difficult, but still do not expect a radical difference. We have an arcade action game here, not a simulator.

https://i.redd.it/468ethax1zyc1.gif
Another difference is the structure of the race. In Maniac, it's not experience that falls out of enemies, but money, which can be exchanged between missions for permanent upgrades for each character. Level Up inside the mission is a bit unusual. To get a new level and the accompanying perk, you need to get to the street vendor of all sorts of illegal goods. The location of each new dealer is kindly suggested by the arrow on the screen, so you won't have to rush around the city for hours in fruitless attempts to develop the character at least a little. Thanks to this mechanic, you don't just run away from the enemies chasing you on the map, but try to purposefully hit a specific point every time. It's a small thing, but because of it, the gameplay is perceived as more structured.
Overall, the first impressions of Maniac are very pleasant. The game looks bright, the action in it is fast and spectacular, and the additional gameplay elements at least a little bit, but set it apart from the competition. Some problems start when you start studying everything in detail.

https://preview.redd.it/2mfufzgy1zyc1.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d74d99c611f8b1f1f083838c4c500da4632ed1e0
For example, in Maniac, unlike most games of this genre, there is only one location. It's a pretty big open city with several themed areas, its own Chinatown and an airport where you can have fun running away from the cops right on the runway. But after a while, it gets boring to admire the same houses.
In addition, the playable characters don't really differ that much from each other. They seem to have different characteristics, but in reality they all play almost the same way. When you understand this, it becomes somehow insulting that you tried so hard to open them all, but there is at the same time a pleasant and unpleasant detail: it is extremely easy to do this. You only need to destroy a certain number of specific objects in the game during the session. For example, taxis or baby strollers. If you set a goal, then you can easily get access to absolutely all the characters on the very first evening.

https://preview.redd.it/tedjbofz1zyc1.jpg?width=2400&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b83ddc861d96928e640f50c2b18fd333ef2c26de
There are also some balance issues in the game. It is generally better not to pick up certain types of weapons until you properly upgrade your character. This is, in particular, a grenade launcher and a rocket launcher. The fact is that explosions cause damage not only to enemies, but also to your ward, and he, as if mocking, regularly shoots literally at his feet (or, more often, under the wheels).
Maniac has an alternative control mode that turns the game into a two-stick shooter, but to be honest, it's not very fun to play. There is too much fuss around and the gameplay as a whole is clearly created with an eye primarily to automatic aiming and shooting.
Finally, Maniac is a little overstuffed. Nothing critical, but one day, for example, I lost an arrow pointing in the direction to the next level. I had to reboot. Another time, jumping out of a car ready to explode, my character for some reason was transported to the opposite end of the city. As mentioned above — small things, not fatal, but still unpleasant.
https://i.redd.it/d8ibd7x12zyc1.gif
Nevertheless, if you love shameless arcade action games and Vampire Survivors, and also yearn for the original Grand Theft Auto, then Maniac is worth a try. This is a cheap and fun game that is sure to keep you busy for at least a few evenings. And it's nice to come back to her from time to time when you want a simple, thoughtless fan.

2024.05.03 18:42 Kshitij-The-7th [GOG] Thanks a lot to u/frozendrifter for buying my ticket to Los Santos ( GTA 5 )

I have played almost every GTA game ( Not played Advanced, London, Vice City Stories and Chinatown wars ) via legitimate means and sadly, pirated copies. I had an epiphany about a year ago and stopped piracy. Felt bad for the companies for some reason.
I played GTA San Andreas on my cousins' laptop about 9 years ago and the low poly images have stayed with me. I have been itching to see Los Santos in HD hoping that it holds up as well as GTA 4's Liberty City did, and u/frozendrifter has managed to take care of it.
Thank you for the game!!!
When I get a job or some cash I'd love to give back to the community.

2024.05.03 00:15 JimTheoch Which one to choose

I ll soon buy a n3dsxl after feeling nolstagic and i would like to have at the very least the nds games (and maybe the gba ones) in an external Flashcart. However some games have AntiPiracy thingies going on such GTA Chinatown wars etc. I think of : -Ace3ds X/plus? (good old tested, i already have their kernel+emulators os called AOS and their regular eood flavor and i ll put the cheats from the 'skull github. Is that enough to play my games?) -EzFlash Parallels (that i haven't read good things yo justify the price) -r4 gold pro but idk with what kernel because some has timebombs perhaps, so that to deactivate them etc? -Dstwo wos mini(aliexpress thing)

2024.04.30 19:50 Ezzyiz im not sure if i should homebrew my previously tampered with dsi

im not sure if i should homebrew my previously tampered with dsi
so for a bit of context, when i was really young (im 15) my dads friend who was into homebrewing and stuff put games onto my wii, psp, dsi etc.. after a while the games stopped working on the dsi for some unknown reason (i assumed it was outdated or something) so it was abandoned for a number of years. recently due to the 3ds and wii u servers shutting down i was feeling nostalgic and decided to bust it out. i researched homebrewing and wanted to give it a go, so i bought sd cards, adapters etc.. but now im wondering if its safe to homebrew on my dsi safely without bricking it as its already been tampered with. even though the cartridge i used to use for my dsi doesnt work i looked at what was on the sd card inside it and saw all my games and even custom menus for the dsi. ive linked some photos to what was on the ds card, if any of you have heard anything of them lmao. i assume if i factory reset the ds all should be well but just wanted to make sure here before i completely brick my ds. if anyone wants any extra details i can try and go more in depth

2024.04.27 20:53 Odd_Space_3080 But the PPSSPP (PSP emulator) works online multiplayer or not?

I tried 4 different games with multiplayer like GTA Vice City Stories, GTA Chinatown Wars, The Warriors and Ratchet and Clank Size Matters. But it looks work but I'm not sure. I only saw a random player joined, I saw in the chat feature. But not sure if it is real, I think I set perfectly the networking. The server IP I use to connect is socom. I don't know if it works, I followed the tutorial. The multiplayer is so complicated because of Sony... Well in this year now on PS4 and PS5 is automatic and use the official servers. Too bad PS Plus is required for online multiplayer and other BS...

2024.04.27 07:45 VideoGame_Trtle We could have predicted GTA VI’s location years ago

Every GTA game since III has taken place in a city from GTA 1.
[GTA III - Liberty City] [GTA Vice City - Vice City] [GTA San Andreas - San Andreas] [GTA Advance - Liberty City] [GTA Liberty City Stores - Liberty City] [GTA Vice City Stories - Vice City] [GTA IV - Liberty City] [GTA Chinatown Wars - Liberty City] [GTA V - Los Santos (A fictional city within the state of San Andreas)] [GTA VI - Vice City]
If you pay attention to the location for every GTA game post III, the location is always the 3 cities; LC, VC, and SA (paying homage to the first GTA game).
In the 3D universe, the pattern was LC, VC, SA. In the HD universe, the pattern is LC, SA, VC.
If someone were to take a look at the order of which these cities appear as settings for each GTA game, we could’ve easily predicted that Vice City would’ve naturally been the city that GTA 6 would’ve taken place in, way before the trailer.
But here’s the real question, where is GTA 7 gonna take place? It’d be cool if it took place in ‘Anywhere City’ the same city GTA 2 was set in, since that game canonically takes place in the future, so weapons like the Electro Gun could come back, along with even more futuristic weapons and vehicles like what we see in Online.
Anyway, this comment is getting way too long, sorry for the rant. But yeah, the location for GTA VI was… very obvious, I’m kind of salty I didn’t see anyone predicting it (including myself). Now I just want to go back in time and tell everyone, just for bragging rights XD
[Something I just noticed, the Roman numerals for 6, VI, are the first two letters of ‘Vice City’. Just another hint for where it would take place.]
