I hate vocab level e

Hey all, with the leaks seeming to be drying up and with actual spoiler season beginning next week, I figured now would be a good time to do a quick rundown of some of the cards I'm really excited about in MH3 so far. Note that this list does contain leaks, so turn back now if you're trying to stay leak-free.

• [[Ugin's Labyrinth]]: Honestly I just can't get past the excitement of being able to Turn 1 Chalice of the Void in this format again. I'm a huge fan of fast mana and miss Simian Spirit Guide and Mox Opal dearly, so I look forward to a ton of degenerate brews with this.
  
• [[Ajani, Nacatl Pariah]]: This scratches a major itch for me as both a fair Magic card and an unfair Magic card. It's an insanely powerful 2 drop in a vacuum even before you consider the synergies, and I think it will really help a lot of white-based decks to shine. On the more degenerate side of things, I'm itching to do the line of Turn 2 Ajani, Turn 3 Saheeli Rai, copy Ajani, make a second cat, flip the original Ajani due to it triggering from the legend rule of the clone, then 0 Ajani to make a third cat and Bolt something, leaving you with 2 walkers and 3 cats by Turn 3. If that line doesn't get Copycat back to some realm of playability, nothing will.
  
• [[Tamiyo, Inquisitive Student]]: This card feels great to me on a lot of levels. A 1 mana 0/3 flyer is a fantastic blocker, and being able to chain card advantage over it without having to worry about ground-based combat is really interesting. Flipping it is pretty trivial in the right deck (or just wait til you accrue a few clues and crack them), but its flip side is a little weaker than I'd like overall. Its plus isn't that exciting, but it does build towards an INSANELY powerful ultimate. A 1 drop that can net you several cards and then ultimately potentially win the game on its own is no joke, and it seems destined to be a big part of the format somewhere.
  
• [[Necrogoyf]]: I can't resist the urge of an 8 Goyf brew even if it's a total pile. I love this little guy so much already.
  
• [[Ocelot Pride]]: This card just seems so good and unique in so many ways and I'm really looking forward to getting to the bottom of it. Everyone's been talking about how good it is on its own, but it's absolutely absurd in multiples. Alongside Ajani, these two cards make white creature-based decks feel appealing for the first time in what feels like years.
  
• [[Flare of Denial]]: I think this card is insane and instantly a top 5 counterspell in the format, maybe even better. I think any blue deck that runs more than a few creatures is going to spend a good deal of time planning how to make this work in the deck. And it is insanely hardcastable at only 1 mana more than Counterspell itself.
  
• [[Flare of Duplication]]: This card is harder to read and feels like it will fall on some extreme side of the spectrum like it'll either be insanely good and oppressive in the right deck or just not all that playable overall. There's a lot of implications here from countering counterspells to duplicating burn spells, to the use case of saccing a creature in response to a removal spell being used on it to copy the removal spell back at an opponent's creature, but time will tell where this really fits in the grand power level of things. I will say that any of the instant speed Flares do deserve a special look overall.
  
• [[Harbinger of the Seas]]: Absolutely awesome Magic card, and such a classicly simple case of what makes Modern Horizons sets great. Will love ruining days with it in Fish as well as trying to revive some Blue Moon shell with it. One way or another it represents a tremendous new way to punish nonbasic lands.
  
• [[Kappa Cannoneer]]: We've had one busted new Affinity card this year, but what about seconds? I think Kappa will finally be the piece to fill out the Affinity shells and make the deck consistently powerful again - Synthesizer gave the deck a great boost, but I think it always needed more than just 1 new powerful card, and Kappa seems to be the perfect fit. Frogmyr Enforcer should be a nice new upgrade as well, but I'm still a little iffy about that Red mana in the Frogmite side.
  
• [[Disruptor Flute]]: I've talked a lot about degenerate cards so far, but this is probably one of the best answers the format has known for a lot of cards. Having Flash on an effect like this is so insanely good, and I can see it being a go to answer for The One Ring, Karn the Great Creator (especially for Affinity), Yawgmoth, and a lot of others. I love the idea of them printing pushed hate cards in a MH set to keep things balanced, and I can see this going everywhere. I'll probably buy like 12 copies on Day 1 and have homes for all of them.
  
• [[Primal Prayers]]: I'm not quite sure what we're doing with this yet, but I'm pretty sure it'll involve [[Greenbelt Ravager]]. It's a powerful new combo engine and I'm sure I'll burn a ton of play points this summer trying to make it work.
  
• [[Buried Alive]] and [[Victimize]]: Putting these together as I think they represent just an insane new boost to graveyard decks. From bringing back Phoenixes to Vengevines to all types of strong interactions between the two cards (such as a cool two card combo of Buried Alive for a Narcomoeba, a Thassa's Oracle, and a Leveler, then Victimize the Narcomoeba to reanimate Oracle and Leveler and win on the spot). There's also that Black energy reanimation creature that I kinda forget what it does now, but I think it's actually pretty good too. Oh, plus the Recurring Nightmare Energy variant. Idk, one way or another we're eating really good in the Reanimator department post MH3.
  
• [[Brainsurge]]: I'm not sure if this will just end up another cool memey reference card like Brainstone, but netting 2 cards off a Brainstorm effect is crazy strong and is worth testing somewhere. Maybe a Cascade deck wants it, maybe not, but we'll see!
  
• [[Sink into Stupor]]: Just a really clever design for a modal land to have. Where this lines up compared to Otawara remains to be seen but I'm going to enjoy finding out!
  

I think that's my big hits for now! What do you guys think? What cards are you most looking forward to?

I've had post finasteride syndrome for a long time, but have made a lot of improvements over the 18 years I had it. Never had any real issues with POIS during that time.
Last year, I went to Mexico and had sex with my girlfriend I was there with 3x in the first 24 hours. The following 2 days I had a very small amount of mushrooms...almost a microdose. I am only adding that part because for a while I thought that could be the cause or catalyst.
Once I returned home I had intense insomnia for 6 months. My cortisol levels were crashing as soon as I would try to sleep and my adrenaline was off the charts. It took me a long time to realize it was POIS. Eventually it resolved itself, or perhaps the huge doses of potassium I was taking helped.
I went about 6 months without issues as bad, although I was not orgasming much at all.
I recently started dating someone, which has meant sex anywhere from 1-3x a week. The POIS insomnia has came back full force. I am to the point where I am considering ending this relationship just due to the insomnia... which then makes me curious if I will ever date someone again as the trade off of horrid insomnia doesnt seem worth it.
I've tried some of the other things people mention on here sam-e, niacin, etc. I'll keep experimenting but they dont seem to help a ton. The only thing that helps is taking hydrocortisone (to replace the tanking cortisol), however, that also tends to add weight gain to the midsection.

I’m playing on normal on a PvE server - and cannot kill him. Level 41, and I’m hitting a wall every fight - most of got him to is about 25% left.
If there any way to up my gear at all, or any potions I should be looking for to take?

My husband and I recently picked up a couple Grand Archive starters -- Tonoris, Lorraine, Silvie, and Rai. We messed up couple rules on first game or two, but feel comfortable with overall rules now.
We typically play TCGs at kitchen table level, so not worried about hyper competitive aspects of the game. However, in playing the starter decks, particularly Rai's starter, I had a couple concerns with how the decks play and wanted to see if the community felt these are alleviated by having better constructed decks or if its a skill issue:

1. When playing Rai, it feels frequently that I end up with no minions and drawing one card a turn that often does not help me to mitigate the opponent's board state. Do casually competitive decks (something that could go even at a FLGS casual event) typically expect to have more card draw or scrying than what the starter decks provide to help with this?
2. I frequently draw a lot of cards that require the element of your Level 3 character early in the game (i.e., Rai drawing a lot of Arcane cards). I use those to pay for Fire or Normal cards, but it leads to drawing to what feels like "dead cards" for a majority of the game.

Interested to invest more in the game and try out some constructed decks, but wanted to understand where on the spectrum the current problems I have are, on the range of "the starter decks are unoptimized" to "git gud". I've tried other TCGs where the starter decks almost threw me off the experience, but had a much better time with more consistent decks.

I wish they were max level by default when you unlocked the passive at level 15.
Or sure, make them start at level 1 and the masteries go up when you level up too, so you don't have to juggle some weapons thst may not even fit into your build just so you can get a bonus.
Something like at level 30, you get all masteries maxed, like the other classes.
I don't like how Druid does it either, but at least you can do it with your brain turned off and not worry about it.

Hi so my girlfriend & i just broke it off because both our families aren't supportive of our choice of partners (different race & religion). The toughest part for me is that i believe she has all of the qualities that I look for in a person and have never gotten along this well with any of my prior relationships because we met organically and are very similar in our preferences and outlook on life (similar ambition, interests, communication style, empathy levels)
We both grew up in USA and have traditional parents from asia, they have been pressuring/guilt tripping/black mailing us that we will be cut out of our families or will never have a relationship with them if we don't conform and unfortunately my gf couldn't deal with it anymore and had the talk. Shitty part is that neither parent groups have met our partner and just are laying down an ultimatum without knowing who the person is or how we feel about each other.
I feel really broken right now, I understand it's a tough choice to have to choose between your whole family and a partner but i am feeling confused and in a daze since it happened abruptly. I really do love her and we both agree that we see a future together.... but since our families suck and are less open we'd have a difficult life. It's important to mention that we both are going through a tough career shift and the pressure of life + parents nagging became too much. However she is the only thing that helped me feel whole when trying to chase my goals.... sigh
Is this something worth fighting for? I absolutely hate that it had nothing to do with a struggle amongst us two and we have to live by rules set by folks who only care about their own preferences not our happiness. plz advise

As per the Maestro ep, in brief:
1) Griffin really does not care for Saltburn, as per it starting stylishly enough and degrading during his viewing to 'no, no I hate you '. Fair enough.
2) David thinks has its moments but is not successful.
Both agree (correctly) that Carrie Mulligan is good in it. Or to quote David's perfect summation "Comes in and kind of freaks it for ten minutes".
Griffin then says everyone is kind of good in it. I happen to agree.
David: "Oh I think one person is very bad in it."
Any thoughts?
I'm worried he means Richard E Grant. Who is....what's the word....not miscast... because you'd think he's exactly who you want for this role. So I'll say rudely cast? Rudely fantasy/Dreamcast? But then....Sims could be referring to anyone...

Very commonly it is said that the way to quit E&P is to go cold turkey: feed all the 5* heroes to Dawa so that going back isn't possible. This is possibly true, but maybe it requires more strength than the average player has. If you've been playing for a year, then maybe the sunk costs aren't so great. But if you've been playing for four...five...six years or more, knocking down all your sandcastles might just be too painful to countenance. So if total destruction isn't possible, here's a plan.
Step 1: Stop doing all wars and tournaments. These take a lot of time; they require the player to babysit the game; and the rewards really aren't all that good. Of all the game modes, these are the flukiest and most frustrating, because when you're going up against defenses that are higher than your best team, you have to focus your team. Mono is always dangerous, but even if you go 3/2 or 4/1, the tiles just might not be there. And nowadays you get about three turns before the other team's special skills start to fire. This is very frustrating, and it's only going to get worse, so drop the PvP. Even if you cannot stop warring today because your league depends on you, click the box TODAY and opt out so that you won't be in the next war or raid tournament. Your league will be fine without your participation.
Step 2: If you are in the habit of opening four chests a day, scale back to three. If you open three, scale back to two. Then one. Ease yourself off the dopamine. Don't worry about keeping your energy at zero. Let a thousand flowers bloom! Start weaning yourself today.
Step 3: Stop doing Mythic Titans. You probably already did.
Step 4: Stop doing all quests that don't pay out gems or at least two tokens for pulls. After you're down to one chest per day, cut out these quests, too. Remember that the promise of a new shiny 5* is probably what keeps you going, but organizing your day around matching colored tiles cannot go on forever, can it? So cut off the flow.
Step 4A: Decide what the last portal will be, and spend all your gems. Buy a 10-pull, then single pulls, then spend the remainder on something in the shop. Get as close to zero as possible. Stop thinking about what will happen in E&P three months from now.
Step 5: Stop doing challenge tournaments. They take a lot of time and the rewards aren't all that good.
Step 6: Stop doing the towers. Maybe you like these (I do), but they take a HUGE amount of time, especially on the higher levels which take place on the weekends. If you don't have anything you'd rather do with this free time, find something. Go for a walk. Learn to identify ten species of trees. Clean up some garbage near where you live. Do something that will help someone. You'll feel better.
After taking the first six steps, you'll be opening one chest per day and hitting titans. Decide which of these has to go first. If your league depends on you, leave the titan for last. Say your goodbyes. There's a big world out there. Delete the game. Think about your little villagers who are still walking around the castle, getting nowhere, and the ducks that are flying overhead, back and forth forever. They will do fine without you. You will find something better to do.

I've played at every level, except professional. And guys hated being told what to do all game. You shouldn't have to squeeze "passion" out of your players. They are already professionals, it's about finding ways to win through different channels etc... not by playing harder. If you have to convince pros to play harder you are a terrible manager.
As far as the lineup is concerned. Here's the ugly truth that no one will discuss.

1. Jona is not a middle third player. He doesn't like to waste energy dribbling unless it's on goal in the final third. He likes to do it the European way build the attack through the midfield then pin the other team in, and keep attacking until you score. We used to do that growing up pinning teams in the final third and never letting them out of half (I won 5 state titles in Youth soccer and a college championship). I didn't go pro because the MLS sucks and the average contract is still only $350,000. Anyways, Jona is absolutely magical in the final third, so why don't they work the ball up to the final third then begin the massive attack. I've seen Antony as well as Jona put in nice crosses. Why are they not doing these things. When teams start panicking because you can get to the end line then they start playing you for the endline, then you can mess with them, and cut back the other way. Bleh this team is so hard to watch no creativity because Neville is up their arse the whole game. This has to be a coaching error. We have a bunch of guys that are really talented, but still have USL players out on the field like Mosquera + Crepau. At least they figured out Mcgraw was USL tier. Took 2 years REEE.
2. Someone is not teaching Antony to get to the endline with that pace and whipping crosses in. If you ever watch the best teams in Europe like Ribery and Robin they used to just dice people and could cross with their left or right.
3. Turnovers. How can you possible turn the ball over this many times. My coach used to make us run 200 yard sprints every time we turned the ball over anywhere but the final third. Moreno is a culprit of this but fixed itself when Evander came in.
4. Crepau is terrible. He also, missed a really easy deflection. He got caught on the second goal out super far. It was an actual chip shot. If you notice Pantemis has never lost this year when starting.
5. Our defense was not that bad guys. Yes Mosquera is not good and will not start when Bravo comes back (Miller slides to the right). Zuparic actually had an assist so all of you haters can be quiet now.
6. Eric Miller provides the Air support that Zuparic Needs in the box. He's also disciplined to get back. Some blame him for not closing down Ruidiaz but tbh the guy hasn't played in 5 matches starting, and Crepau should not have been caught off his line that far. He also has shorter arms, Pantemis has longer arms and would have reached the deflection.

I've been working on an e-commerce platform, and one of my tasks involved optimizing a large number of images for better web performance. Initially, I was using the cwebp command-line tool to convert images to WebP format one by one, which was quite time-consuming.
To save some time, I created a simple Bash script that automates the process of converting all non-WebP images (JPG, JPEG, and PNG) in a directory to WebP format. The script takes a single argument for the desired quality level (0-100) and loops through all compatible image files, converting them using cwebp and removing the original files.
Warning: This script will delete the original image files after conversion, so make sure to have backups before running it.
While this script is nothing fancy, it has been incredibly helpful for me in streamlining the image optimization process. I figured I'd share it here in case it could save others some time as well, especially those working on projects involving a large number of images.

Going to preface this with the fact I'm not very junior at all any more. I've finished IMT and did a couple of years as an SHO before it so I have a reasonable amount of clinical experience for my level. But I'm absolutely terrified of starting specialty training and being med reg again after being out of training since August.
I coped with IMT3 fine, and actually quite enjoyed being a med reg at that point, but now I'm suddenly feeling like an imposter and like there is so much I don't know. I've been doing some shifts in ED recently and it's made me feel SO anxious - I'm seeing presentations that I wouldn't frequently see in medicine (e.g. acute abdomen, gynae stuff) and I'm now terrified of missing non-medical pathology on the wards. I also recently had an incident where I gave suboptimal advice to a junior based on a poor story from them - the patient was about to be post-taked so I didn't see the need to get too involved, and I ultimately would have asked more questions +/- examined the patient myself if I was the med reg responsible for the patient (I wasn't) but I'm now worried about giving the wrong advise on the phone if someone calls me and doesn't give me the whole story and I can't predict every singe eventuality of things they may not spontaneously disclose. It's less of an issue in places with electronic notes where I can look things up myself, but I also work in places with paper notes and it's making me really anxious that I might give advice that is wrong and that a patient may come to harm because I can't physically come and review every single patient that is discussed with me (or maybe I should be reviewing everyone?)
Another thing I worry about is consultants who know me trusting my plans in case there is something I missed. I know that I should probably take it as a compliment that they see my name on a clerking and don't feel the need to get too involved when they are post-taking, and I do highlight things I'm worried about, but what if I miss something for whatever reason and it doesn't get picked up?
I just have so much anxiety about everything at the moment and it feels ridiculous to be feeling this way at my stage. Is it normal to feel this way before a step up in responsibility or after coming back from time off? I'm so worried about consultants being disappointed in me when I probably look quite experienced on paper and am this insecure about everything in reality... Has anyone else at my stage felt similar, or is this perhaps a sign that I'm not good enough to be a reg?
Any advice/tips for not being a shit reg would be really appreciated.

I've played tarkov since 2017 ( a year after it's release) and a few things I'd like to note. First I'm not going to mention the obvious with the new edition.
To start, I hate this new Era of "Early Access" titles, when it's really just an excuse to not produce the game at the start. Dayz is not exception. If you were to tell me in 2017 that tarkov would not be in 1.0 I would have waited to buy. I have 1500 hours so it's been fun, but the fact that they do "major" changes every year vs wipe is so pointless. Since you get no real rewards for playing each wipe or even reaching kappa, the next wipe feels stale. Sure we got 3 new maps in the past 5 years but they've been unrunnable and not fun to learn. Adding landmines and other zones to new maps is just frustrating when they are in the middle of the map. When "Early Access" is thrown around I usually think that they are experimenting and trying to find and fix what works best. BSG however makes very tiny changes and will brandish them as game breaking. Each year I've played, audio, performance, and cheating have not only been a problem but all seemed to get worse as new content arrives. The rapid changes they are making because of the new failure they brought is how the game should of been handled to begin with. IMO I feel like having the same quests (with the exception of a FEW new ones) gets boring. For the people who haven't gotten kappa, it's fun getting until you've gotten it once or twice then it just feels stale, kinda like beating a story game a few times. If they have 3 separate quest lines, COMPLETELY different containing 0 quests from each similar, per wipe of the year (3 wipes usually per year). I feel like a game that's been out for 8+ years should of been out of Early Access years ago.
I also feel that edge of darkness should of gone away about 4 years ago. Before people freak, I say this because they kept it for greed, they could of added the unheard edition and been fine (as long as what was included was given to eod). The reason I think EoD should of been removed earlier than now is that too many have it. I honestly forgot about the custom name tag when buying it, and thought it was just a bug or player scav when I got killed by a white tag. It was never after I'd see white tags, and with 1500h that's saying something. EoD should of been limited, usually a "limited" product doesn't last 8 years.... unless it's Baja blast. They could of released the more expensive version and given EoD holders the items in it, EoD however was so broken, if you played tarkov frequently you had to have it. Money and guns don't matter from it, but a lvl 4 stash and gamma case makes a huge difference, and I'd still argue there are less than 100 people that have gotten Kappa that haven't owned EoD.
Arena is the last thing I wanna talk about, I know I got a large wall of text. BSG was so upset about arena doing bad they felt the need to make another cash grab with UHE. Arena however could of and CAN still be fixed easily. First remove all the maps in it now. Second add snips from maps similar hlto how CSGO did their 2v2 maps where they are fractions of other maps. Snips from maps like customs, maybe making it a Dorms fight, or for bigger team battles maybe even sawmill from woods. This would be the absolute cheapest way to get players to play, while still having features like voip. Of course the biggest change and most important, is stop trying to be CS or valorant. We don't need a buy system with money yatatat that's not what Arena needs. I'm fine with TDM and I enjoyed the 2v2 3v3 5v5 tournament mode but stop with the money to items modes. Also important, the weapons, armor, ammo etc... I hate what I'm about to say, but this feature needs to be copied from Call of Duty. What I mean is that you can make custom loadouts with whatever you want. Yes I get that it would issue a meta to the game but a system like this where armor and ammo stay at mid tier would work way better than play the game for 50h they you get to get a dusk cover on your ak. Another system, which is the one I want more, is one that compares to both Arena and Regular. Guns, ammo, armor, etc... pull directly from your stash, if it's tdm you'd keep the weapon and total ammo you had per death, where as a more hardcore version would be you can die and get looted per round and lose/gain gear giving more or less incentive to the quality of gear brought. There could be quest and other reqards that would give some help towards your Tarkov Regular character such as money and gear. This would give a boost to Early game and players not familiar with active combat. With familiar maps and situations relative to the real game, this would 100% give people a reason to buy Arena. But similar to other games the way to prevent fall off of the game even with changes, is a reward system that bsg can control. Rewards like winning a tournament gives you permanent clothing or gives you a random item like scav junk case does in the hideout. With rewards and a rotation on maps in the pool Arena would easily be playable.
Thanks for reading this wall of text, these are a few changes I think if implemented Tarkov would have reason to play and not just play until 30 and quit which is what the average level people stop at per wipe, and also give reason to play Arena.

H hate ranting and venting but I’m falling apart.
I went to a new OBGYN today who was very nice but I’m losing my mind because she wanted to treat my severe insomnia and severe brain fog with birth control since she said, “I’m still young and still getting my period.” Before she does this she would like me to follow up with a neurologist.
She’s testing my hormone levels, but like she and other doctors I’ve been to before, blood test only show if you’re menopausal, not perimenopausal. She also said because of my age and because I have erratic menstrual cycles I’m likely perimenopausal. No answers while my brain fog and insomnia has fried my brain cells for a year now.
I had insomnia while I was pregnant 10 yrs ago and know what hormonal insomnia feels like.
My main symptoms are brain fog, insomnia and irritability. They are so severe that I’m getting depressed. I don’t feel like myself and go through the motions each day. No night sweats or anything else.
I saw a horrible condescending male neurologist bc that’s where my primary doc wanted to start because of the brain fog.
I’m also seeing a sleep specialist now recommended by the neurologist to rule out sleep apnea.
Chasing my tail here.
I’m grateful to be able to see doctors but I’m truly burnt out and having a hard time managing life, parenting and work with no sleep and brain fog.

I apologize for the long text but I need to describe the situation properly.
34M, graduated in law (never became a lawyer cause after 2 years in a law firm I lost every interest in law and I don't regret my choice).
I've been at my current job for 1 year now (business consultant for a small IT consultancy firm). Before that I was unemployed for 1y and a half (i quit my previous job as bank teller because of toxic environment, constant overwork and understaffed office) .
I got this job after many rejections and it looked promising since it was almost full remote, it was a consultancy job and it involved software licenses/IT asset management and sounded like something I could do well (I'm a bit nerd, use Linux, assemble my own PCs, I learned some basics of coding and IT jargon at the law firm where I used to work cause we worked with software licenses).
My boss is good, I got a ton of training (hell, basically I did just that for a whole year, with training on the job, self-teaching, etc.), i work from home, the company culture is not great but it's definitely not toxic.
The point is, a few days ago I completed my first year here and I really HATE this job and I'm still really incompetent at it.
I partially blame myself because, finding it super boring, I have no motivation to get better at doing it. But I also blame this company because I think they didn't give me a correct representation of the real job during my interview.
I'm a consultant, that's true. I prepare a few PowerPoint presentations and have some calls with clients. But the truth is that I am a TECHNICAL consultant cause my job involves a lot o technical skills in order to be done properly (e.g. knowing how data centers are designed and managed, what hypervisors are, virtualization, SQL skills for databases, advanced Excel, data analysis skills). All things I never did before and that never appealed me and that I still can0t do properly. Long story short, this job is 90% working on spreadsheets with huge amount of data, performing data analysis and trying to match all that data with vendors licensing "terms and conditions".
In addition to that, since I was hired I did very little other than receiving training on the job (basically reading stuff on my own, joining online meeting where my colleagues talk or staring at a screen for 4-6h watching them performing data analysis on SQL or Excel). A lot of training on the job, but really boring and ineffective. The few times they assign me a task is very stressful cause I can't do it properly and so every time is a pain.
Now, I tried to bring that up with my boss after the first 4 months (I had already spent a whole month doing nothing at the time). He said that they understand my situation and that I shouldn't worry since they knew I didn't have an IT background. Now a year passed and I'm still pretty much in the same situation. I'm tired of being paid to do nothing and I can't understand if my boss is just waiting for me to resign cause he finally understood that I 'm not a good fit for this job. I do the bare minimum and I'm just fallowing a couple of small projects. Every time I have meetings with my boss he's very polite and doesn't show any sign of frustration.
I tried to find a another job but without success. Working again as IT asset management consultant is not an option, of course.
I spent the last 4 weeks doing almost nothing (it's not an exaggeration) and 2 months ago I started attending a 10-month Web Development course at a local school. I already studied web design/development on my own in the past, and I've decided to give it a real shot since I enjoy it and I think I'm pretty decent at it. I spend my days doing the exercises they give us and learning web development, which I'm grateful for.
What are your thoughts about my situation? I think I'm living in a bubble now and I don't think I can evaluate it properly from the inside.

Weird situation here - A mutual friend introduced me to his friend who lived a distance away a few months ago. He said to me the guy was going to be a really good fit for me and he thought we would hit it off well. We did connect pretty well immediately. In the initial conversations when i asked he was upfront and stated he was in an unstable and unhappy situation with someone he was living with and was working on ending it. I figured that's fair at our age (mid 40s) you typically won't meet someone who isn't on the tail end or getting over something. So i took the chance hoping something good would ensue. however the friend indicated to me the relationship was on its tail end within weeks of us meeting. We continued to talk and he was very consistent with keeping communication up daily for about 6 months. we did meet in person once and we connected organically and had a good time. He would acknowledge me on holidays etc sending me gifts. He started referring to his "ex" and flaws that existed there, indicating to me the relationship had ended and in our conversations he made references to his life pointing to he was a single man,
the catch: I started questioning why we hadn't seen each other again regardless of great phone calls and communication and all else. He would ask for me to come up with suggestions but nothing materialized. I tried to be patient and not be pushy about it until i got tired of feeling like I was being strung along. I finally asked outright why we haven't seen each other and expressed that it appeared and felt like he was still living his own life there possibly still with another woman because planning a second meeting shouldn't have taken 6 months, given the level of connection we had on the phone. I found myself getting agitated and down whenever I'd see social media posts where he was clearly out and about having fun around other females etc, meaning life was going on. He did always keep in the loop of his daily movements and we spoke about everything including his personal issues, It just was the one thing that almost felt like a wall in what we were doing. No meeting again planned. I started to feel like maybe he physically wasn't interested too,
When i expressed all these concerns His response was I understand what you're saying and i hate that I make you feel that way . LOL. I honestly didn't think there was anything to say to that response so I just kept quiet. He stopped contacting me after that and the interactions stopped. I didn't see any real need to reach out cos I felt his response was rather passive aggressive.
question is what really could be the reason for the now radio silence and was I wrong to not continue communicating? I obviously miss the conversation and the connection that we'd kind of built but with no physical meeting and without a real valid reason IDK. its all weird. Assuming we're done anyway I suppose.
just want a take on other's ideas. I didn't feel there was much else to talk about unless he came up with a suggestion of when we'd connect. It just started to feel like there was no goal in the interactions.

Throwaway account just in case there’s a small chance there’s anything on my personal that could take away my anonymity. Before I start, I know this sounds like a troll post but unfortunately my feelings are very real. I (24f) have been a nanny for the past 4 years and also suffer from borderline personality disorder. I’m not trying to push the nanny husband stereotype, I really do hate it, and I also hate myself because of the way I feel.
I’ve been with the same family for almost the past 2 years for a 4yB and 6mG. MB is 39f and DB is 35m. I’ve worked with many families before and after starting for this family, and while it may not always of been perfect, they are for sure one of the best families I’ve worked with. I have a strong bond with the kids and I really do get along well and care about MB and DB. They always tell me how much they love and appreciate me as well.
From the first day I met everyone I have always been attracted to DB, just on a physical level. It wasn’t until a few months in that I started to develop a little bit of a crush on him. In the 2 years I’ve been working for them I’ve gone in and out of having him as one of my FP (bpd terms for “favorite person”). Whenever i gain a FP/obsession with someone (not exclusive to DB), they become all I think and care about. My mood is based off of how well our interactions go, how long it’s been since I’ve last seen/talked to them etc. Sometimes it’s not that intense and I’m usually able to leave all of these feelings at the door and after a few weeks or a month the obsession goes away. I fantasize about spending time with him, going on dates (and other things that wouldn’t be appropriate to specify here) etc. When I tell you he’s the only thing on my mind 24/7 I mean it. I never really went out much before but the past month I’ve been staying away locked in my room even more just thinking about how amazing being with him would be. Even when I’m out I’m always in my head thinking about him and frequently stalk his socials for new pictures of him. TMI but he’s the only thing I can get off to too, and I’ve been doing that like 5+ times a day, I literally can’t help it.
The past month it has been super intense, worse than it has been before. It’s bordering on the longest time I’ve had this obsession/crush and i am feeling incredibly depressed and almost suicidal. I can’t remember when exactly I started feeling this way again. I think part of it is that I’ve been working more hours so I’m seeing him interact with the kids more and witnessing firsthand him being a good dad. I didn’t have a good dad so seeing him be an amazing father to his kids makes me kinda jealous but I also think it’s hot. I look forward towards seeing him every day I go into work, I purposefully try to dress nicer and do my makeup which i rarely ever do just to see if he notices. I do my nails and got hair extensions recently and colored my hair so that he would notice me, yet he hasn’t said anything. My mind tries to convince me that he wants me too even though I know it’s not true. I work mornings and usually pick up one date night a week so they can go out, and I guess maybe that’s where I started realizing that this is becoming a problem. MB asked me to pick up this coming Friday night so he can take her out on a romantic date. I started spiraling after that, just out of pure jealousy. I put the kids down for their nap shortly after and spent 40 minutes in the bathroom bawling my eyes out and considering doing something stupid tonight.
There’s been other instances leading up to this, I guess I should’ve noticed to realize how bad this “crush” is getting. I see her getting ready before I leave wearing cute clothes, hair done, makeup done, and I get mad inside. I see them talking or hear them laughing and it bothers me. It’s never affected me at work until recently. I’m still in the bathroom hyperventilating as I’m typing this. I know I need to go to therapy and put in notice but I can’t afford to do either. I actually need to go on medication again. But even if I could afford to leave or if I had another family lined up, I wouldn’t want to leave. I love the kids so so much and I really do like MB and DB and hope to have good relationships with them for years after I leave, and they always tell me how much they love and appreciate me. These feelings will eventually go away, I know they aren’t forever even though they feel like it. But I can’t stand feeling this way any longer. I know I don’t love him but it really feels like I do. I want nothing more than to be with him and my heart hurts so bad knowing we won’t ever be together. I would do anything to have him in any capacity.
This makes me feel and sound like I’m a terrible person and nanny but I promise I’m not. I’ve never had any complaints, the kids love me and I know I’m great at my job. I love the kids like they’re my own family. When they wake up I’m gonna go back to being my normal happy caring self. It’s gonna hurt but I’ll fake it till I get off and I’ll smoke my feelings away when I get home and cry.
I’m leaving later this year to get a job in my field and the absolute longest I’ll be staying with them is another 4-6 months. Maybe even as little as 3. Anyways, sorry for the long post, I know it’s a mess but I did my best with the paragraphs. I don’t really know what I’m asking for here, just a place to vent because my feelings for him are so intense it’s painful. If anyone has any advice for how I could try handling this for the remainder of my time here or if anyone has any experience with gaining feelings for a DB or MB, I would appreciate it. I love a lot of the camp/base/workshop building aspect of this game but I really hate is how circular it is I don't understand why a lot of games do this I wish it was a square or give us a circle type floor so we can circle out the shape of a campsite, the building limt is kind of dumb and I understand to some degree I just wish we can upgrade that as we level up also am I the only one constantly rebuilding and redo it in my base over and over again

Hi, I am in my 20s and I never wear makeup on a regular basis. I don't wear foundation/BB cream. I never wear full face of makeup except when I'm going to a party or something.
I only use sunscreen, pressed powder and lipstick/gloss. It's because my skin is so sensitive and I get breakouts too often (like had it 100 times since I was like 12, due to stress/lack of sleep/wrong products etc). Since 2022, my face has been through multiple breakouts (I have always had acne since I was 12), which is now kinda under control as I'm taking medications prescribed by my derm. I took Accutane once when I was 13-14 and my acne came back when I was 18-19, but it wasn't as bad as before, so my derm prescribed retinol with antibiotics.
I am going to a really "professional" school next month where I will need to wear makeup almost every day. I'm kinda worried about my looks as I'm seeing the pictures of those college girls on their socials. They have good skin and they can do amazing makeup. Not that I'm insecure but I feel like I need to use makeup to be able to fit in. But I'm scare like what if my acne comes back. I hate having scars on my skin.
So, I'm investing on some BB cream and pressed powder with some mascara and lipgloss/lipstick. Maybe I'll also throw some blush if I'm comfortable. I don't know if this is an okay look in a professional setting like I can't do contouring or stuff like that. Is it okay to use only these and not contougo for really expert level stuff?
Any advice (skin care +makeup) will be appreciated because I'm a beginner wearing makeup after a long time (the last time I wore makeup was in 2019 when my breakouts kinda stopped before starting again). Does your acne come back if you use makeup on a regular basis? Is setting spray necessary? Lastly, if anyone got any reviews of Wet and Wild Bare Focus Tinted Hydrator (BB cream) and Photo Focus Pressed Powder, and any sunscreen recommendations, let me know in the comments.

For me I'll list the guitars I have which correspond to the strings I use from left to right. Also curious to get your favorite brands and why.

I kinda want to get my les Paul set up with mediums but I'd hate to spend $80+ for a full proper set up and end up hating up. I'd test it on my les Paul but it's so out of wack that it's pretty much unplayable right now.

Welcome to Day 42 of WiyHat?. Today's topic is "Sumireko Usami", the "Mystic and Troublesome Female Student".
She is introduced as the main antagonist of Touhou 14.5: Urban Legend in Limbo. Despite being an ostensible "normal" human from the Outside World (^{the Kanto region}), she effectively has an assorted amount of psychic powers, or just ESP in general. She creates the Secret Sealing Club (first seen in ZUN's stories with Renko & Maribel) at her high school Higashifukami and becomes its first president because of her interest in the occult (and then Gensokyo).
Sumireko is one of those characters ZUN really made a big deal out of after her introduction: to put it plainly, she was basically everywhere back during her heyday. I'll go over all of her appearances first:
Games:
-14.5 (ULiL): Sumireko is the antagonist of the game, who instigated a plot using "Occult Balls" to bring residents of Gensokyo to the Outside World for a short time so that she can learn things about them. However, every single person who came to her fought back, much to her curiosity. Eventually, Mamizou tricks Sumireko to be the one who is brought over and trapped in Gensokyo instead.
Cue Sumireko's own story mode, which has her fight everyone else to find a way back to the Outside World. Miko eventually just tells her to use the balls whenever she wants to return, albeit technically temporarily now that she's a "resident". Sumireko eventually panics, believing she'll die at this rate, and so decides to sacrifice herself by unleashing the full power of the Occult Balls, possibly destroying the Great Hakurei Barrier.
Reimu stops her, but not before Sumireko accidentally activates a Lunar Capital Ball, which links Gensokyo to the Lunar Capital, therefore setting up TH15 and Gensokyo's potential "purification" by Sagume Kishin, if she can't deal with those attacking the Lunar Capital. ^{So, yeah, even though Sumireko was stopped in 14.5, she still inadvertently put Gensokyo in grave danger later on. She's not unlike a certain trio who created a cascade of incidents back in TH10...}
Regardless, Sumireko later apologized and befriended most of the characters after this particular incident, and her tales of the Outside World intrigue most of the residents in Gensokyo.
-15.5 (Antinomy of Common Flowers): Sumireko basically stumbles into Gensokyo at a bad time, and has to find her way out of the Dream World using Doremy's help. Although this sounds like a minor issue, her "Dream soul" was released into the Outside World as this happened, which could have had dire consequences, according to Yukari. Bizarrely, Sumireko encountered 2 versions of her Dream soul, here. Eventually, she solves the problem, with Doremy confirming she was the "real" one who prevailed in the end.
16.5 (Violet Detector): Sumireko keeps having weird dreams were she has to fight off dream world dwellers jealous of her having a "real" body. After a while, she finds and fights the real Okina. Impressed by her resilience, Okina lends her power to fight off even stronger nightmares, with the upside that if she wins, the dreams will stop eventually.
That is, until it turns out the "Sumireko" we've been playing as was the Dream version of the real one all along! Okina rescinds the power she lent to the Dream version so that the real one (which you now play as) has a fair shot at getting her body back (since the Dream one was in control of her body). Sumireko wins, and then she wakes up not remembering anything, and the player is left complaining at ZUN for not actually creating any new patterns for this game.
Oh, yeah, she also makes outrageously "hip" descriptions of the patterns when she manages to win it definitely doesn't endear her to some people.
That's all for the game appearances, which while only 3, left her with quite a bit of presence during that era of Touhou. 16.5 is Sumireko's own solo game, by the way, in case you didn't know.
As for her Printworks appearances:
-Grimoire of Usami: Basically, this is Sumireko taking a page out of Marisa, and making a Grimoire where she explains various Danmaku attacks done during a "Fireworks festival". While there's a bit of a plot in here, it's mostly just descriptions of patterns.
-Wild and Horned Hermit: Sumireko's dream souls cause trouble again in chapter 29. She also (accidentally) summons a UFO at the Hakurei Shrine in chapter 31, much to Reimu's irritation.
-Curiosities of Lotus Asia: This was basically known as "Rinnosuke's series", except after a long hiatus, it was brought back with Sumireko taking center stage in almost every new chapter, much to the irritation of some people. Put plainly, Sumireko works part-time with Rinnosuke there, which is why she's so involved.
She also had various cameos in most of the other printworks (including further cameos in WaHH).

So, am I done summing up Sumireko? Well, no. Because I glossed over so much, I should mention that Sumireko's good friends with Mokou because she matched her blow to blow in a duel they once had, and friends with Kasen too, even giving her (and various other people) nicknames. ^{She's friends with Reimu, Marisa, Mamizou and Rinnosuke, too, but that was already implied before.}
PHEW! Now, that's a lot of canon stuff for a single character, particularly one introduced so much later into the franchise's continuity!
You might be thinking: "What about her relation with Renko Usami? They have the same family name!" Well, the truth is, we still don't know to this day what the exact relation between the two is. We assume Sumireko is Renko's grandma or something, making her one of the few Touhou characters to (eventually) canonically have a family, but even that's not confirmed for sure, so we can only theorize about it.
More to the point...what do the fans think of Sumireko?
Well, according to the yearly popularity polls, she started off decently popular, but she's dropped hard lately, going as low as 80th last year (2023). This is partly due to her diminishing presence in the canon, presumably, but...
...it's also because, not unlike other Outside World foreigners to Gensokyo like Sanae and Mamizou, Sumireko's got a bit of a hatedom who detested how much ZUN pushed her as a "regular" of Gensokyo, despite the fact she wasn't even truly living there, and that she got off too easily for almost ending Gensokyo's very existence...twice, no less!
And then there are those who are fans of Rinnosuke who hate that he has to share the spotlight with her all the time when "his" series was brought back. Or maybe the fans of Mokou who hate that instead of ZUN further expanding on her relation with Kaguya/Keine/someone else from the Windows era, she gets stuck with a generic isekai wannabe.
Yeah, I think that's the core of the issue with Sumireko for some people: She's essentially got no real relation or story to the actual core of Gensokyo's world^\1), and thus comes across as inherently boring to them. And yet, many canon stories used to revolve around her, much to their frustration.
^\1 Sumireko technically visited Gensokyo as a kid through her dreams, so technically she does have a backstory with Gensokyo, but she never remembered her experiences there back then and it feels more like lore stuff than actual backstory to most fans.)
Of course, Sumireko still has some diehard fans, and she does provide a niche hardly many other characters have, so don't be surprised to see her in fanworks involving Outside World stuff.
