So, I remember this tik tok of a woman in her car, I think she was a brunette. She talked about how she went to a bar and then saw that they had the option to order a mystery shot (I think it was called 'death shot' or something of the sort?) and that's what she did. The bartender would not let her see what they put in at all and after a while she was served a shot with a rim of black crystals. She described the smell as something very particular, I remember having to look up the word although I can't remember what it was anymore either. But I know the bartender was surprised that she knew what it was. Thus was the first tik tok of a series that turned into the woman trying to figure out what was in the shot and repeatedly going back there. She said she even bought a bunch of herbs to compare the taste to. Please help.

The protagonist was a girl with red hair - I think she was named Ruby Red or something similar. It’s possible it was pronounced Ruby but spelt differently. The book shared her name, and might have had a subtitle to do with slippers?
There was a character who lived stationary either inside or outside her house, and I think was called a gargoyle or doll or something distinctive and similar, but resembled a human. There was a drawing of all the characters at the beginning of the story, explaining who they were.
At some point the aforementioned gargoyle character got lost in the snow somehow, and Ruby had to go out to bring him home. I cannot remember anything else regarding the plot.
The atmosphere of the book was slightly mysterious but cozy, and I think it was written in a similar style to other old-ish children’s books, like Mrs Pepperpot and The Little Wooden Horse.

Anyone experienced these persistent mysterious pop-ups or has serious idea what it is? I searched all internet and no one seems to have published anything about this particular type of message.
They just mysteriously appear when new page in internet browser loads, but they appear randomly, not always but very often still. The websites change all the time but the message is always the same: "0" - zero.
What is most annoying is they are not usually possible to just click away by clicking the "OK" button. It either seems to do nothing or the popup blinks as if it reloads or tries to do something but stays anyway and blocks access to the page itself. It goes away usually after switching to other browser tabs and then clicking the button again, but just as with how they pop up, they are not even possible to get rid of with one consistent process. There is no regularity and consistency, no guaranteed way to make them appear, to make them go away, the behave completely irregular.
Even now that I wanted to provide more detailed observation, it surprised me again that I wasn't able to manifest them suddenly, but I suspect they will start appearing again when I do not want it. So all I can say further is that they were appearing both in Chrome and Edge, the only browsers I was using on this freshly installed computer for now.
I have a new Windows 11 Pro installation. I of course installed series of security updates and various desktop applications so I can't say exactly what might be causing it. Is it some bug in some of the apps or is it some virus, malware or just spam intruding and possibly being imperfectly stopped by some other application, I have no idea and no one seems to know anything. There were similar phenomena but not exactly this with the 0/zero/null message.

2024.05.17 01:08 Berndtup My theory on Yasuke’s role in the story

So obviously Yasuke is the first playable character who’s a real historical person but his origins are fairly mysterious and there’s not many details on his life.
Taking creative liberties, Yasuke could already be in the brotherhood and be on a mission that takes him to Japan.
In real life we know he came to Japan from Portugal. At this point in the AC timeline the Brotherhood is very active in the Mediterranean (See the Ezio trilogy)
I think it makes a lot of sense that as a PC he’s a trained assassin but an outsider to Japan. The only hole in this theory is Yasuke being the more combat focused character but plenty of the summonable assassin in Brotherhood/Revelations wore heavy armor and used heavy weapons.
What do y’all think?

The nature of the soul has been a matter of debate among scholars and priests for millennia. However, recent research has brought us much closer to the truth of such matters, at least as the soul pertains to the old “white” and “black” divides. Indeed, many misconceptions must be rectified, and that is the purpose of this paper. First, however, some history needs to be established.
The original divide between white and black souls was devised by Vanus Galerion (2E 581) in order to combat the Order of the Black Worm by establishing legal “white” souls trapped from non-sapient beings and illegal “black” souls harvested from sapient beings. This has remained the “common knowledge” of souls even to this very day. It is, however, a purely political construct which bears little similarity to actually existing modern research. After all, Galerion’s old system of soul trapping defined the souls of Minotaurs as “white,” which would no doubt disturb our friends from Sancre Tor.
In modern terminology the “color” of a soul is not a matter of size or humanity, but content. White souls are raw Anuic creatia, formless and easily shaped by the psychomancer. All souls are white at birth; research performed by scholars at the University of Kragenmoor (Rallon et al., 4E 355) found that the souls of feti are not significantly different in substance from the soul of an ox or a goat, often weaker. Black souls are dense with psychic substance: as mortal souls absorb mythic pollution in the form of memories, emotion, knowledge, belief, daedrons, magicka and so on, the density increases, the soul becoming “darker.” This process is a spectrum, however, not the crude binary dated literature might lead you to believe. The most common “black” souls in usage, those of condemned prisoners, are not as dense as the souls of great mages; size is also known to be variable, mammoths and very old trolls often have souls as large as an average Dunmer or Nibenean (Adair et al., 4E 250).
In the past, necromancers erroneously believed black souls were inherently superior to white souls. Today enchanters and psychomancers have noted that both souls have drawbacks. White souls are generally useful for any kind of task, but are weak and therefore require a larger quantity for any given product. In contrast, black souls are much stronger but are specialized. Argonian souls, for example, produce more reliable water-breathing amulets and war veteran souls are more useful in combat-enhancing enchantments. Otherwise they are only about as powerful as a “grand” level white soul, sometimes weaker (see again, Adair et al., 4E 250).
Perhaps the most recent controversy in soul science has been the issue of “souldust,” the residual soul particulates which are emitted from ingenium workshops. They seem to have negative effects on overexposure; the Benevolence of Mara in Bravil (4E 356) reporting incidents of patients gaining memories of other lives, imbalanced emotions, dissociated identities, increased agitation, disturbing dreams, insomnia, and mental fatigue. A similar report found this “soul sickness” is disrupting natural ecosystems, killing plants and causing abnormal behavior in animals (Elisgan and Cassa, 4E 341). Counter arguments from the Chorrol Academy and the University of Skywatch refute this, insisting such diseases are more complex and souldust is a negligible variable (Doran, 4E 347; Larethal, 4E 350). May future research endeavor to clarify these mysteries and unlock the true potential of the soul.

It’s funny, really. For as much as you occupy my thoughts, I rarely fantasize about you.
There were once months that I would let my mind travel to you. Filling in the gaps that you left open. Unintentional as it was, you were always so mysterious.
Then I got to know you.
For a brief period of time, you let me in. The real thing was so much better than the version of you I managed to conjure up. Memories of the person I learned to appreciate and grow affection for are what tend to flood my brain since we parted ways.
But lately I find myself in fantasy.
Nothing crazy. No passionate acts of love and lust. Instead, my mind creates moments of mundane conversation. Us catching up over coffee. Talking a walk around the block. Sitting in the sun together. Simply enjoying each other’s company.
Affection and lost opportunities aside, I truly do miss the friend I made back then.
I hope your time has been filled with a good book or two (or more), and that company you’re keeping in the real world is warm and loving.
Thinking of you often. I’ll find you in a daydream, maybe.

Hello all! Growing up I was fascinated by Lord of the Rings and other fantasy RPG type stories and I was hoping to re-create something like that as far as the world goes. The plots can range from romance, to action, to mystery, or any mix of what we can come up with. I would like it to be for a longer RP so story lines can develop, and characters can grow, the action might not come right away. Just a laid back RP that we both can enjoy and be proud of. I have a wide cast of characters we can use for either a group dynamic or a one-on-one story.
As for the writing style I usually write anywhere between 200-500 words at a time in the 3rd person, but you can write in whatever style you’d prefer. OOC conversations are very much welcome as we can brainstorm ideas to develop characters and bounce ideas off each other as well as become friends hopefully. I am making a 1.19.2 Mega mod pack and I was able to load into the Minecraft loading screen and everything but the game instantly crashes once I create a world. Chapter 3
Location: Somewhere outside of Tiste lands the northernmost Jaghut keep
POV: Korya Delath
Korya Delath is hostage to Haut, a Jaghut. Korya is of the lesser house Delack in the tiste settlement Abara. From the aerie in the keep she can see the contested lands, which have nothing to contest about them. Haut keeps her isolated and forbids her from leaving the keep. He does not quite understand the idea of hostages and took it upon himself to educate Korya. He is harsh. Korya spent a lot of time in the Aerie pretending to be a goddess to her dolls. Now those dolls are kept in boxes.
She is alarmed by a group of Jheleck approaching the keep defying the prohibitions for crossing into Jaghut territory, even though they no longer claim any territory. The Jheleck are said to be kin to the Jheck of the far south, but much larger. They were the size of warhorses and possessed a sorcery she knew only as Soletaken. Although she doesn't know what that means. She sees Haut open the gate in his full armor. She had no idea he had any martial proclivities. The Jheleck blur and in their place stand several warriors. Haut yells up at her that they have guests.
Haut has no one in his household but him and Korya. He is capable of conjuring food and drink through sorcery, but prefers not to. Korya learned how to make food, chop wood, and mend clothes in the absence of servants. She thinks that he dislikes the company of people and that is why they are alone. Although she does not understand why he agreed to take her as hostage if that is the case. Jaghut used to live in cities until they came upon the realization that civilization is "economic suicide". Resources are not infinite, but a civilization can try to be. "There was nothing so deadly as success."- Haut. The Lord of Hate is the one who exposed this truth to the Jaghut and because of it they live solitary lives and no longer try to build up their civilization.
The Jheleck brought freshly killed meat with them and in Haut's main hall ate it raw. Haut joins in. Korya is put off balance by this, but studies the scene to attempt to make sense of the gathering. The Jheleck speak the Jaghut language, as does Korya. They call Haut Captain and Haut warns them not to anger Korya. He has never seen her angry, but continues to try to bring it out of her by being harsh. After several jokes about her, Korya asks to be excused and is surprised to hear that it's not possible as the Jheleck are here for her. Korya is very confused.
The Jheleck call Haut Captain, but hostages aren't given to soldiers only noble families. The Jheleck bring up that Haut has no army or houseblades. This is somewhat of a threat. Haut responds by saying that he needs no armies. The Jaghut just destroy their enemies. When Jheleck would raid Jaghut lands, the Jaghut would kill some of them and drive them off, however if they came in greater numbers then the Jaghut would then stop playing nice. They want to return Korya to her home. In their defeat the Jheleck signed a treaty that demands hostages from the Jheleck to the Tiste. They are trying to return Korya to fulfill that treaty. Haut says it does not work that way. Sagral gets angry and demands that Korya leave with them. She doesn't want to and says, "Does this one need a leash?" The joke diffuses the situation.
The tiste have asked for 50 Jheleck hostages. The Jheleck are worried due to the rumors of civil war. Haut tells them that hostages are sacrosanct in war. The Jheleck sense that Korya is empty and is not a child of Mother Dark. Haut confirms this and says he has fashioned a mahybe. "A vessel. Protected, sealed and, as you say, empty. What remains to be done? Why, its filling, of course" Haut dismisses the Jheleck and says if they don't leave he may just kill them all. They, shaken by this and depart.
Location: House of Delack
POV: Lady Nerys Drukorlat
Lady Nerys Drukorlat looks upon her grandson Orfantal as he plays in the dirt. She wishes to end his childhood as soon as possible so he can learn to be the heir of the failing house of Delack and return it to glory. Orfantal is a bastard. Lady Nerys knows that isn't his fault. She recalls a quote from Gallan's latest work, "The wounded will wound / and every hurt is remembered." She looks at his work as revealing unpleasant truths about the Tiste. Others do not. When Orfantal plays at being in war, his play always ends with an unseen betrayer killing him from behind. She blames soldiers returning from war. "Veterans returned home with all illusions scoured from their eyes, their minds. They looked out from a different place, but there was nothing healthy in that, nothing worthy." Lady Nerys's husband was one such soldier. Who upon a heroic return confessed the above to his wife before killing himself and leaving his house in shame.
Another soldier who lost his arm from a horse bite had found Sandalath Drukorlat, Lady Nerys's daughter, and seduced her resulting in the birth of Orfantal. Once Lady Nerys had discovered this, she paid him to never see his son or Sandalath ever again. He accepted. Sandalath though older and having already been a hostage, is now to be a hostage again to her dismay. Her mother will not allow her to say goodbye to her son. Her first stint as a hostage was with House Purake, this time it will be with House Dracons. Orfantal is to go to Kharkanas and be in the retinue of the House of Purake. Not a hostage. Ivis has arrived at House Delack to retrieve Sandalath. She enters the carriage and they depart.
POV: Orfantal
Orfantal watched his mother's carriage leave. He doesn't like to see people cry and tries to prevent it from happening. He understands that, "There were wars and that’s all there was, and every day he died, taken by that knife that followed him across the whole world, just as it had done to his grandfather."
POV: Sandalath
Sandalath thought she saw Orfantal by the stables as her carriage moved away, but she is not confident in what her mind sees so is uncertain. It's very hot in the carriage, but because her mother has instilled in her the virtue of not causing a scene she does not ask the driver to open a window. She fondly recalls her time as hostage in the citadel with the Purake brothers. Always feeling safe with them and loving them each in turn. Well maybe not Silchas. The war took the brothers and their father away and when the father returned broken she began to fear that the brothers would die. House Drukorlas had been devastated by the war and was now in poverty.
Galdan was the one-armed soldier who spoke of a romantic and adventurous war and Sandalath had relayed these stories to her son. Lady Nerys had told her daughter that she had exiled Galdan to Jaghut lands and he had died. Sandalath told her son that Galdan died from a betrayal while he defended his wounded lord. As the carriage trundled through the village, Sandalath thought she saw Galdan, but attributed it to the heat in the carriage. She passed out from the heat and the carriage stopped.
POV: Ivis
Ivis enters the carriage and pulls an unconscious Sandalath out. If Sandalath dies in House Dracons care, other families would use it as an excuse to gain advantage over Draconus. Ivis pays the carriage driver to take off and threatens him with death if this story gets out. Ivis's men get Sandalath's strongbox open. Not sure why maybe to see if she has lighter clothes, but discover that it is filled with jars of river stones from the Dorssan Ryl. It was a way to avow love for another person. Give them a stone from the Dorssan Ryl.
Sandalath wakes up and notices that many layers of her clothing have been removed and that Ivis has the key to her strongbox that is usually around her neck. Ivis lies and says it was constricting her neck and that no one looked in the strongbox although it is very heavy. He says he has a daughter and that he knows young women have a lot of toiletries.
POV: Galdan
"Proper men had two arms for good reason. One to reach for things, the other to keep things away. Galdan had lost the arm that kept things away" This applied to the drink and to Sandalath. After she had been taken away from him he began leaving stones for her in their secret places. He assumed she threw them away.
Location: Outskirts of Hust Forge
POV: Galar Baras
Galar Baras contemplating the Forulkan reveals that their priests were called Assail. "Peace did not serve order; order served peace" The Forulkan worshipped order and confused it for peace and justice. Order became a prison and those who sought freedom became the enemy. The south borderswords were the first to fight the Forulkan and they became the Hust legion. Hust swords had a fearful heartline that was reinforced by the forgemasters. This heartline gives the blades their voice. Galar Baras is obsessed with Hust swords and believes they are an expression of a unique sorcery. After the borderswords had defended the Hust forge from a Forulkan assault, Hust Henarald had rewarded them with Hust blades.
Galar Baras is riding with the commander of the Purake houseblades, Kellaras. When Nimander returned from war and Mother Dark had blessed him and his house for its service, House Purake turned over it's lands to Mother dark and became her vassals. They now took the name Andii, Children of Night. Anomander and house Purake were the first to relieve the borderswords in the battle of the forge and Anomander bestowed great honor upon them by going to their commander Toras Redone and clasping her forearm. From that day the borderswords consider themselves Andiian, sons and daughters of night. This sent a fracture between Urusander's legion and the Hust legion.
In a drunken comment Toras Redone had told Galar Baras that "Peace had become a disaster". Galar is unable to drink alcohol. That night they became lovers. The next day they were not brave enough to continue. Soon after she had sent Galar to Kharkanas to be the Hust legion's representative in the city. Toras is married to Calat Hustain, the man who had given Galar his hust sword. Calat had accepted the command of the wardens and was now far away from his wife. After a miserably lengthy time within the citadel, Galar was now returning to Hust forge both anticipating and dreading seeing the woman he loved.
POV: Kellaras
Kellaras and Galar Baras do not talk much and Kellaras has been told by the members of Urusander's legion in the citadel that Hust swords poison their owners. He's starting to believe it. Galar Baras was not liked in the Citadel. He did not mix with others and remained a mystery to most of them. Kellaras had been given a message to take to Hust Henarald by Anomander. Galar Baras insisted on escorting him to the Hust Legion. Kellaras took this as an insult. He required no escort. Out of the blue Galar Baras asks him a question about the urgency of the message. Kellaras takes it as an opportunity to ask why he insisted on the escort. Galar Baras confides in him that he just wanted to get out of the citadel and felt crushed by it. Kellaras takes this to heart and orders him to continue to escort him so he will not have to return to the citadel. Kellaras now confides in Galar Baras that Anomander intends to commission a sword from Henarald Hust.

2024.05.17 00:24 Zizi_4444 Did I mess things up or am I just overthinking?

So I (27M) go to the gym regularly and I have a pass that lets me go to any gym in my city. I’ve been to all of them but I had a favourite place cuz of the layout. Been going to the same place for years but my issue was the fact that, although I’m pretty attractive, I haven’t found the courage to approach any women. (Mainly cuz of anxiety and the stories I hear about how you shouldn’t hit on girls at gyms.) I did eventually talk to this one chick I’ve been seeing for awhile but only because she was literally staring at me every chance she got.
But not only does she stare.. many other women do the same (guys too lmao). It’s not like I have a confidence issue but for some reason, idk if it’s the huge amount of pre work out I take but I’m like on a high when I get to the gym. Hitting on girls is the last thing on my mind.
I actually switched from that favourite gym of mine because I was paranoid that I came across as a pussy for not ever really going out of my way to talk to women. And there would be literally so many opportunities which I never pursued.
I don’t have many friends but when I read comments on the internet, guys essentially say they always hit on girls when they get a chance and well.. I don’t. Also because I think that girls get hit on all the time so why make someone uncomfortable at the gym? But then again I’ve read from so many different people that as long as you look good, nothing matters. (Which I think is cap but I’ve never put myself out there). My last three ex’s I met online..
So now I’m at this new gym which I fell in love with after leaving the previous. And I am sort of coming across the same issue..
Not only at the gym but literally anywhere I go I’ll get checked out. Red pill people call it “choosing signals”. There’s even this new chick who’s cute asf and would look at me like crazy but I wouldn’t even say hi but today was my second time seeing her and I noticed less stares 😂 I’ve heard that if you see a girl looking at you and you say hi from afar but don’t approach after it makes you look bad/un confident.
So I guess my question is do I still have a chance? Or was I supposed to approach right away? (And does this apply to all women who check me out?) I mean I’m prob messing it up worse by not even saying hi just locking eyes for a bit then turning away.. which I’m pretty sure is cringe?! But then again it’s like.. do I have to approach? It’s not that I don’t want to but idk if any other guy feels this way but doesn’t it lowkey feel like it’s our duty as a man to “holla”? Puts just a little bit of pressure on the situation.
I also feel like I shouldn’t over think it. There’s a few cuties at the new gym but idk why I feel like I’m obligated. Maybe it’s cuz they all fucking look at me and many would essentially follow me around the gym doing diff workouts as I move around. Which is an obvious clear signal I should say something.
Am I screwing up?! Am I a giant pussy? Or is the fact I’m introverted working for me as I come across as mysterious and it’s cool not to rush?

The menace has spread across the galaxy, and continues to, inexorably, do so.
The horde of clicking and clacking shells scrape across rocks; they pick their way up plant stalks; they jab their pointed feet into the very flesh of anything they can digest; they do these things as they warm across everything. Their ravenous maws devouring every digestible morsel that their claws can crush, rip, or shred.
The only worlds that have been safe from the horror of their infestation are those whose environments are so harsh that no life can survive on the surface. Even then, out in the darkness, they could have made hibernation colonies from which they could re-spread across the cosmos at any time.
Every star-faring race knows of them and, equally so, fears their reproductive cycles. Fears their emergence from a long sleep on the 23rd or the 29th cycle before the adults either hide themselves deep or die, leaving billions of eggs and larvae to grow until the next cycle.
No one, not even the vast horde itself, knows which world spawned their like nor is there any indicator of how long their menace has writhed across the blackness of space. For all of the sentients who have encountered them they, simply, are. They are a massive threat and precautions need to be taken in advance of them waking to preserve some semblance of the societies on the worlds that have fallen victim to the great armored monsters from the stars.
Children are taught, from a young age, to flee from anything resembling the monsters, even tiny versions, because where there is one, there are many. Where there are many, there are millions. Where there are millions there is a danger to all. Millions of tiny legs can stab through the youth of any sentient species, inducing intense pain and inflammation before the pincers start tearing the flesh from their bodies, devouring them whole in bites as the swarm covers hides them from any hope of rescue.
The littles ones can, quite easily, be crushed but doing so draws the attention of the horde and any who dare to crush one are soon victims of the many. They can be obliterated by projectiles, but their collective intellect quickly determines the origin and will overrun it to protect the horde as a whole. The individual monsters have no sense of self preservation, but their collective hungers for life eternal and will eradicate entire worlds to accomplish it… before harvesting the resources to flee to the blackness of eternity for another world.
There are histories that show worlds succumbing to the monsters in as few as 4 reproductive cycles, though the more technologically adept worlds have achieved stalemates with the horde such that neither can ever eradicate the other from the very essence of the planet. These worlds are the most prepared when the claws sprout from the ground, but they are also the ones that suffer the heaviest during the rampage of gnashing, armor-plated craws.
Most worlds succumb after a few hundred years, each cycle of hatchlings draining a bit more of the ecosystem into the growth of the horde. These worlds flee, often taking eggs with them to start the cycle anew on a new world, ravaging the escapees before any of them even have a chance to establish a new life.
The Galactic Council of Sentients has a standing policy of destroying any horde vessels that are encountered in deep space, but the odds of such encounters are extremely low. The GCS also has a policy of expending any effort, including exhausting the fuel supplies of entire fleets, to push any Horde ships found entering a system directly into a collision path with the star; the energy needed to create such delta-V is worthwhile as it has been the only way to protect worlds from an onslaught. The GCS also has a standing policy of leaving worlds with developing sentients alone and allowing them to develop their own star travel before revealing any secrets of the cosmos to them, EXCEPT when such a world is in direct line to be invaded by the Horde. The GCS’ one exception to the non-interference clauses for developing worlds is to warn them, and save them if possible, from a Horde invasion.

It was not possible to do anything but report the dire situation around Yellow Star 176J438B. The Horde rockships were slowly tumbling through space on a collision course with the third planet in the system, the only planet that supported any conventional life forms and one of the four bodies in the system that were known to be within range of the Horde’s tolerances.
Report and wait.
The only concern is, do we tell the sentients of this world, who have barely touched the sky around their world, that their end is nigh or do we allow them the peace of ignorance until the last moments of their existence?
Anthropologists have recommended both courses of action many times in history, all depending on the understanding of the world in question. If it is believed that the news of impending destruction will cause their society to implode and reign a special kind of horror down upon them of their own doing then it is always determined to let them survive in ignorance until the monsters fall to their world and begin devouring everything. If, however, their development arc indicates that they will band together and find some sort of collective solace in knowing that they are not alone in the cosmos AND that the others chose to warn them of an incoming apocalypse so that they can try to prepare then the GCS permits contact and warning. Either way, the planet is doomed, but how their destruction plays out is the only assistance that can be offered to them.
Yellow Star 176J438B, it turns out, is a bit of an anomaly as their culture is so heterogeneous that the anthropologists are not sure which is the best course of action. The GCS waits. The observing survey ship waits. The Horde tumbles ever closer.

The survey ship reports in that the sentients of the doomed world have launched a probe at the Horde vessel. A primitive craft, equipped with many sensors and electronics to, clearly, try to study the inbound vessel but, also, armed with a nuclear warhead the likes of which no sentients in the entire GCS have ever build before. The probe vessel closes range on the Horde ship, two silent and soulless entities sliding through the emptiness of space between the worlds of this remote star system. The probe, using all of its resources to ascertain what the sentients of the world have seen in the heavens careens without power toward its destination which, just hours before the impact, alters the vector of its travel by a fraction of a degree in all axes, allowing the sentients’ probe to harmlessly pass it by, now destined to be lost in the vast emptiness of interstellar space.
There are but a few weeks left before the Horde lands on the world and the great devouring begins. The sentients of that world generate a vast increase in radio chatter about the mystery object. The survey team mourns for the future that they must witness.
The horde’s giant rock ship hurtles slowly, altering its spin and its trajectory in such a manner that it will perform a graceful landing on the remote world. A graceful landing followed by a vomitous disgorging of legs and pincers onto the land and into the seas of the world.
The sentients, aware that the giant rock is under some sort of power and, apparently, going to land instead of raining destruction on them in one giant collision, gather by the hundreds of thousands to see the unprecedented event in their history.
They watch as the rock rolls out of the heavens, shunning fire and smoke and blasting heat in intolerable waves, as it gently sinks halfway into the ground. The trees around it erupt in flame before a vast emission of CO2 extinguishes the fires, and the people within range. The corpses simply fall where they suffocated from the wall of gas.
The rock cracks open and the monsters emerge. Little ones, the size of the hands of the sentients emerge in the millions followed by monstrous beings of various sizes. The tiny critters swarm over the corpses of the dead, shredding their flesh and clothes and devouring them, leaving skeletal remains in their wake. The larger monsters swing their claws out and grab bystanders, crushing them in their great pincers or ripping them in twain, before gorging on them.
The sentients retreat.
The screaming and the cacophony of panic fill the skies nearby and ripple through the radio waves in the broadcasts of their world.
“Dem aliens are crabs!” one specific sentient is seen over and over again in various broadcasts in various frequencies and formats. “They’re monster crabs from outer space! Well, ya know what? We know how to deal with crabs where I come from.”
And with that the sentients of the world began to mobilize. A vast moat of fire was lain, and maintained, around the landing site so that the crabs could not flee across the land. The sentients brought in vast tanks of water and, to the shock of the anthropology observers, began heating the tanks of water.
The sentients used flying machines to grab the largest of the Horde and dropped them into the boiling water; they scooped up the littlest Hordlings by the millions and threw them into the water. The Horde thrashed and fought, but each individual’s death lessened their intellect and their ability to try to outsmart the beings of this world.
The sentients, after a short span of weeks, had eradicated all of the active members of the horde on their world. Each and every one was boiled or roasted and then, to the horror of the observers, eaten. The sentients of this world, it seems, had many similar forms on their world and found them delicious.
The report to the GCS included this information and the GCS begged the observers to make contact to learn of this technique.
The denizens of this backwater world had just managed to bring hope to trillions of other sentients across the galaxy that, perhaps, there was a way to fight back against the horde from the heavens.

2024.05.17 00:06 Dr_Pepper_blood Missing In Oregon: Martha "Marty" Evans vanished in a bridesmaid dress in 1990, investigation didn't begin until 2005.

I wanted to start off by stating this case has been touched on here before about 3 years ago. But I do have a little bit of new information to add so I included it in this series.
Martha Evans was 33 years old in 1990, nicknamed Marty. I unfortunately didn't find out a lot about who she was. However I certainly read that there are many loved ones who are missing her and search for her still.
On February 10th 1990 Martha had attended the wedding of a friend. Marty had been a bridesmaid in the wedding. After the wedding ceremony that day the wedding party and guests moved over to the reception at the High Climber Room Lounge located at the time in Knappa Oregon. At some point during the evening Marty had put her purse in the bride's trunk.
Marty had attended the reception for a little while and then she told her friends that she had to make a "quick trip to Warrenton Oregon to pick something up" and that she'd be back within an hour. Marty left the reception around 9:30 p.m. and left her purse behind still in the trunk.
On this particular night Marty was driving a borrowed 1984 brown Ford Ranger. I don't know if she borrowed it from somebody that was at the wedding or had borrowed it previously. It was said to have dents all over it and a 7UP sticker in the window. Oregon plate: PNB116.
Just a little after Marty had left the reception a witness spotted her getting gas at a station just outside of Astoria Oregon. They report that she was on the pay phone and upset and crying. This was the last time Marty or the truck were ever seen.
From what I can gather the family tried to report Marty missing right away but local authorities seem to believe that she had left of her own accord. Without taking any belongings not even her purse and literally wearing a bridesmaid dress. She never returned for any of her belongings.
An official missing persons report was not filed until 2005 when a detective Matt Beeson took the case. Marty's sister Linda states. "Without the missing person report there never was an investigation." In 2005 Detective Beeson took DNA from Marty's mom and sister for any future comparisons.
Warrenton and Knappa Oregon are said to be about 20 miles apart. The family acknowledged that Marty could have had an accident and slid into a ravine, or river, or even the Brownsmead Slough which has deeper parts.
After 2019 it seems Adventures With Purpose has searched a couple different times. Although they have not found Marty they have at least started to narrow down some of the water possibilities. They know where she isn't, far more than they know where she is.

Finally finished today & did some thinking.
Edit - forgot to mention. In the Bible which is the inspiration for the names and other similarities, Eve tempts Adam with the apple from the Garden of Eden. Dooming the human race with sin, but in this game Adam tempts Eve to take his hand and merge with him. In doing so supposedly saving the human race instead.
Despite the secret ending feeling like the true ending I disagree. From a franchise point of view, the secret ending wraps up the story. Eve becomes a hybrid, becomes enemies with mother sphere, Xion is saved, Eve becomes earths protector.
But a couple points, Eve is massively overpowered now. How would a sequel work with Eve as the protagonist now? Outfits don’t make sense for her either since her bottom half looks Nytiba now. The story doesn’t have much direction now.
I will ignore the ending where Lily dies because it’s terrible and depressing.
The “good ending” has the most potential franchise wise. Eve defeats the elder Nytiba which was the whole goal of the game. She stays “human”. Lily lives and they return to the colony but both know they need to return to earth and they are suspicious of Mother Sphere. Eve is not overpowered, she has not fully declared mother sphere her enemy, and there is still much mystery to what will happen when they return to the colony. Because Eve is still “human” she can learn new skills or wear new outfits in a sequel. After credits also clearly say Eve and lilys adventure isn’t over. Whereas the secret ending point to a conclusion to the story.
In my opinion, Eve becoming a higher being like she did makes it impossible for a sequel. No more room for story progression, at least not with her as a protagonist. Or if she does remain the protagonist, the true ending will have to be the return to the colony ending

In the first week of May of 2014, Russell and Shirley Dermond, a couple who was approaching 90 was supposed to attend a kentucky derby party in their upscale neighborhood on lake oconee in central GA. The couple never made it to the party, and after a few days went by, their friends became concerned when they did not hear from the Dermond's, so some neighbors went over to check on them
That is when the neighbor found a horrifying scene, Russell Dermond dead and decapitated in his garage, Shirley Russell nowhere to be found. The neighbor then called 911
The house was immaculate, it was an extremely clean crime scene and there was no evidence they were even killed at the house
10 days later, 2 fisherman found Shirley's body 6 miles away from the home, she was dumped into the lake. She had been beaten to death and had 2 cinderblocks strapped to her legs and tossed overboard. her body was disposed of via boat
I consider myself fairly well read about this case and I feel the entirety of the crime raises alot of interesting questions. id love to hear peoples thoughts on these questions/motives and the type of people and their motive who would do this. County Sheriff Howard Sills has been very media friendly about this case and has shared a decent amount of details/insight. Below are a few questions i have about the case, feel free to comment your thoughts, etc.
-the crime scene was extremely clean, russell was decapitated in the garage but otherwise the house was immaculate. why decapitate russell? if it was to hide the ballisitcs evidence would it not have been easier to use a different weapon?
-I feel they likely came to the house with the plan to decapitate them as they had to have a very sharp knife(sheriff said a super clean cut) and a container to take the head away in. what would be the motive for this?
-sheriff has stated he thinks there was at least 2 people, possibly more involved
-Russell was not killed in the garage where he was found. he was likely shot due to gun shot residue being found on his shirt. there's no blood spatter in garage, why kill him elsewhere and then bring him to the garage? where was he killed?
-Shirley was killed in a different manner and much more brutally, why use 2 different methods for killing them? why bother removing her body and his head and hiding them, meanwhile RD body was just left on the floor of the house?
-Shirley was not killed at the house and her body was dumped via boat
-this is a significant part of the crime imo, because removing Shirley from the property(in a boat especially) increases the risk of being caught 50x. i feel like there had to be a noteworthy reason to do this but cannot think of one
i think these killers are local, they had to have a boat and a truck/trailer to transport that boat. imo these guys had to be VERY comfortable on that lake, in order to kidnap an old lady, bring her onboard the boat, likely kill her onboard, and then tie cinderblocks to her and dump her body overboard. this is ALOT of work/effort and is very risky to do, which doesn't gel with leaving his body at the house
i think most likely it had to be some form of extortion, where they arrived by boat(even though sherriff says he doesn't think they arrived by boat) and then kidnapped SD in order to get $ out of Russell. Russell then either refused and/or fought back and was killed or things went wrong and the killers plan was ruined. so they just had to kill the dermond's and leave

So I just watched the last for eps and I have some thoughts. Feel free to share your own thoughts as well if you like :) I personally loved the drama, although I am sad of it being over seeing as nothing was resolved and it was only “the beginning”. Even when it came to the mysteries of the season I thought we would at least resolve some but it looks like not…. We never got answers/explanations on the fire incident.. only that time travelling hwan is the man in the cap. The parents past was only hinted a little bit we basically know nothing there too. The story is just left way to open for it to be a satisfying ending.. I fully expected this but it is still disappointing. I knew of the bad things to come but even knowing didn’t prepare me for how depressing and sad those last eps have been… I cried a lot especially in the last two eps. The show just fully delivers when it comes to the emotions.
And all the characters are just so good!!! -Jooan. I can’t stop praising his actor… He did such a great job with the character and his scenes always hit hard especially in the last episode when he stabs his father. The fact that in difference to the bu storyline he cares and does the most he can to help his father makes everything much more sad. He was holding on to the happy memories of their family and wanted to desperately bring it back. It truly shows how pure and innocent he is underneath all that anger (which makes sense how he developed in this abusive environment). The unfortunate truth is that he must let his father go. Bringing him to his mother,sister was a very wrong decision and he payed the price for it. Side note I would like to know how did the father end up like this?? Him being one of the parents involved in the time travel makes things more complicated.
-Cein. Even knowing what will happen couldn’t prepare me for how sad his death was. The last scene of ep11 hit me so hard. Like he just wants to be understood for who he really is but people won’t give him that chance because of his reputation…even tho he is such a nice person… It is so sad… I don’t dislike the father his problem imo is that he not an empathetic person that can emotionally connect with others. He tries to be but he is not that type of person. He has also been through a lot because of Cein. Him doubting Cein about the death of his mother was a heartbreaking moment for me… He should have had more faith in his son, unfortunately he didn’t even if it was only for a moment. And for Cein who at that point had only been pushing through for the sake of his father it was the nail in the coffin. I know a lot of people love the yoonkook duo but personally my favourite pair was Cein/hwan. And seeing how it was his death that brought hwan to start the time loop was very impactful. Also #justiceforcein He needs to put that slimey principal behind bars for whatever he did to his mom (which was most likely sa) and clear his reputation.
-hwan is an interesting case… Passive as he is in a very toxic environment he lets himself get swayed by the principal and the father. It was frustrating to watch him doing what they tell him, defending the principal and all that but I can understand that it is hard to go against the authority basically in his life, especially as a young teenager. And all of it led to him saying “I’m afraid I’m gonna become like my father” and leaving for America was a development I liked. His father is also such a mystery!!!! His relationship with Cein’s mom, his time travel attempts that he forgot all about… He is a very bad person now to his son and a dirty politician with the most outrageous thing he did being trying to kill dogeon with the principal?!? But from my knowledge of the bu I can guess that he wasn’t always like that. So the question is what led him to become the way he is???
-Dogeon is actually such a nice person. Mature and forgiving who wouldn’t want him as a friend??? The amount of responsibilities he gets on his shoulders with all those jobs to provide for his family where others should have bailed. Working until exhaustion to low grade underpaid jobs when he is capable for so much more is so sad and unfair to watch. Him breaking down to his mom asking her to save him was heartbreaking. And that moment he let all his frustrations out to jooan was very understandable you can only take so much as one person and some times you have to put yourself first. It is not selfish but a necessary step for self preservation. Of course my heart broke for jooan having to hear that he is burden to the one person he thought he could rely on. The rift that was created after that between them was unfortunate but it also shows how much jooan cares about his friend that he decided to distance himself for his sake.
-Hosu: Despite all his trauma and his problems being able to maintain a positive attitude and be cheery is such an admirable trait!! Even when it comes to his mother he holds no ill towards her but just wants her to be happy?? He is just too kind! I mean it is no wonder why haru would rely to such a person so much!! Looks like he has problems in the orphanage with those bullies (that dogeon brothers is with). And he also feels guilty for what happened to haru…. Ho much can one person take? Haru and hosu just have way too many together
-jeha it’s very interesting how he is the one that found the book… and baby it is not your fault the group split up! He is so worried of people disliking him he assumes it immediately.. And all the guilt both him and Cein have after the incident is too much… I still wonder when he started tracking Cein? When and how did they meet? And how come jeha became so attached to him? I feel like we need some clarification on that cause why would someone be in a group with older people without some circumstance being involved. Unpopular opinion maybe I but I don’t dislike Jeha’s mom as much as the others.Yes she is letting him get abused by the stepfather to prevent them from getting kicked out and yea she did want to put the blame on Cein for their own benefit… but I do feel that she genuinely cares about her son and that is her way of doing “what is best for them” and I can’t hate her for that.

Any one else irritated up with the newly implemented self-check in at Essentia Health? What the hell is going on? I go in on several separate occasions, attempt to check in on their “new self check in screens” and am completely disheartened. It’s irritating. I went ahead and gave it the old college try not one of my three visits were even successful at check in! What a joke. The third one, a random person came out from a mystery area and said “oh go over here” and guess what I got?! Another screen! Where a person popped up with broken English who could not understand me! My 11 year old was even rolling his eyes!!
Irritating! Because :
  1. The staff is no longer there to greet me or my family members- I looked forward to seeing them
  2. The computers don’t work (correct- I received errors on three separate times! )
  3. Other patients are complaining
  4. I don’t want to walk into a health care clinic not feeling well or what ever and go click on a screen!

For a literature class I’m making a comic that highlights a social moment and I chose neurodiversity awareness specifically autism awareness. The target audience is tweens or young teens. I’m making a fictional story that highlights different aspects of autism and issues people face with autism like masking, having special interests, social cues and communication difficulties, melt downs, etc. I want some critique on anything I can change. I myself being autistic have drawn from my own experiences writing the story and have changed it significantly since I started. I’m tying my hardest to avoid stereotypes but if anything seems like a negative stereotype or wrongly portrayed don’t be afraid to tell me. The whole takeaway I want readers to have is that although neurodivergent people approach things differently or act differently because of who they are it is just as good as the neurotypical approach.
A Wandering kitty stumbles upon a village of dogs that has been cursed to sacrifice one of their own to a dragon every few years to keep it from coming out of hibernation and destroying everything. Because they unknowingly founded their town on the dragon’s territory they where forced to do this to appease the dragon and keep themselves safe.
Despite everyone else seeming like strange cats to kitty, kitty decides to set up a life here seeing no other nearby towns.
Kitty has always wanted to be a wizard (special interest) but she doesn’t click with them and can’t really be trained by other dog wizards.
Kitty knows there are differences between her and the others but doesn’t know how different the others are until she has an experience with it (inability understanding my social cues). She interrupts their sacred dog wizard ceremony while trying to find a mentor and does some obviously not dog like things. Kitty has a melt down and goes non verbal resorting to hissing and meowing under the stress of their differences.
Kitty doesn’t understand what she did that was wrong but still feels hurt. She knows that she wouldn’t become a wizard like them especially since they are so different from her. To become the wizard she always wanted to be, Kitty decides to slay the dragon and break the curse with her own wizard magic.
Kitty however currently has no magic but overhears of a mysterious wizard from across the sea from the local village wizards. Kitty ventures out to ask this wizard for training.
Kitty finds the wizard alone in his tower and realizes that he is a cat too and has also struggled to connect with the dogs. Kitty suggests teaming up to fight the dragon to let the world know different types of wizards are out there so she is not alone in being a cat who wants to be a wizard. They also team up because at this point kitty still isn’t well trained enough but the date of dragon sacrifice is coming close.
They venture off to slay the dragon and enter the dragons lair just as the villagers are about to leave their sacrifice at the dragon’s lair.
However when the dragon begins to attack, kitty becomes overwhelmed and goes nonverbal again (hissing and meowing.) this triggers the dragon to shoot flames. The mysterious wizard then seeing kitty all overwhelmed creates a spell to protect them both just in time. Cat helps kitty calm down and decompress.
Kitty can’t speak since she still is nonverbal so her spells don’t work when she moves her wand but with the help of cat who does the talking they work together to fight.
Kitty mixes up her spells and ends up accidentally shrinking the dragon rather than slaying it.
She and cat anounce the dragon isn’t a threat anymore and the villagers are surprised that who they thought was a dog all along is actually a cat. The dog wizards are frustrated she wasn’t like them but still achieved her goals of wizardry. However the townspeople are happy for what she did even if she didn’t really get rid of the dragon but found a way to neutralize it. Kitty in the end realizes that she and cat don’t need to be like the villagers and that her way of doing magic and being herself is just as good since she can still do great things.

This is part 3 of stealing stuff from other franchises (LOL), but this time I'm writing about the anime because I was bored and had another thought that needs to be set free onto the world.
I want to preface this by saying I LOVE the anime, its funny and cute; its very 'slice of life'-ie and the boys are all so silly in this version. but I want something different, and hopefully longer episodes.
So, what is a 'Mockumentary'? essentially its a mix of the words 'Mock' and 'Documentary'. Google defines it as 'a type of film or television show depicting fictional events, but presented as a documentary which in itself is a subset of a faux-documentary style of film-making.' Think of shows such as 'Modern Family' and 'The Office'.
i'm going to try and follow some of the plots in the actual anime but trying to get it to fit 22 minutes which is how long episodes usually are of this type.
i try to keep it condensed or we'd be here all day <3

Ep 2: Ruri-chan viewing party
Main Plot points:
  • A plot- Levi grabs all the dateables for a viewing party
  • B plot- the rest of the brothers are hiding from Levi
Story:
Plot A:
  • Levi squeals in excitement which means there's a new Ruri-chan movie.
  • he tells the camera in the 'interview' how much he LOVES the movie he wants to show them today,
  • he continues talking and talking
  • Levi tries to find his brothers around the house but can't
  • he decides to find ANYONE who will listen
  • He finds Simeon who was badly hiding behind the couch, Simeon rats Luke and Solomon out.
  • Levi even takes Diavolo and Barbatos
  • keeping the dateables in his room, not letting them leave
  • he over-explains everything to them
  • He stops them from leaving multiple times, Luke even tries to fake an illness to get out
  • Even Levi's snake hides from him
Plot B:
  • All the brothers try to tiptoe around the house, trying to avoid Levi who is constantly listening to find people who would listen find others
  • The brothers express in the interviews how they love Levi... but they cannot stand another one of his movies

Ep 3: For whom the belly rumbles
Main Plot points: (I got inspired by the episode of 'Modern Family', 'Connection Lost')
  • A plot- Beel is lost in some sort of island. the whole ep takes place on the DDD interface.
  • B plot- Lucifer, Satan and Asmo are at Diavolo's castle
  • C plot- Levi, Mammon and Belphie are in the HOL
Story:
Plot A:
  • Beel scrolls through apps on his phone, somehow having internet access
  • he then opens his contacts and dials Lucifer on facetime
  • Asmo pops into facetime on Lucifer's laptop
  • Beel dials Belphie who is asleep, then he dials Levi who is always on his phone.
  • they all try to find out what and where Beel is
  • they offer suggestions but Beel keeps getting distracted
  • All it ends up, is that Beel accidentally sent himself into a game world after eating a game disc
Plot B:
  • Lucifer has to give a speach on behalf of Diavolo
  • when Beel calls on Lucifer's laptop, Lucifer was going over his speach as Asmo does his makeup and Satan was checking who attended.
  • they try to help Beel out of where he is before Lucifer gives his speach
Plot C:
  • Levi was chasing Mammon around the house when Beel calls
  • Belphie was asleep

Ep 4: Princess Asmodeous is in another Castle
Main Plot points:
  • A plot- Asmodeous gets sent into Levi's game as the princess, he loves it a little too much
  • B plot- Lucifer giving Mammon a driving lesson
Story:
Plot A:
  • Asmo and the other brothers are sent into a game
  • at first, Asmo is annoyed but then he realises he is the princess and forces everyone to do his bidding
  • he wants to be saved in a certain way, dressed in a certain way, etc
  • Asmo likes it
  • Asmo becomes like an evil dictator
  • the brothers revolt against the prince and they win the game
Plot B:
  • Mammon got a parking ticket and it turned out his license expired a few months ago
  • Lucifer gives Mammon a driving lesson

Ep 5: Mammon and the Dog
Main Plot points:
  • A plot- Mammon was turned into a dog, and Mammon runs away
  • B plot- Levi and Asmo had a previous fight but also Satan and Belphie had a previous fight
Story:
A plot:
  • Starts with Mammon having a dumb look on his face, his lips not moving but he is talking with the camera zooming into Mammon's face, Mammon then says "Hey over 'ere!", the camera zooms out and shows Mammon sitting next to a dog. Mammon is the dog.
  • Dog Mammon explains how he got cursed and then it plays out like the anime for the first 5 minutes
  • The brothers go out to eat dinner where they tease Mammon like usual
  • Mammon mishears something Lucifer said
  • Mammon leaves when no one was looking
  • The brothers in groups look for Mammon (Group 1: Levi and Asmo, Group 2: Satan, Belphie and Beel), they go to Casinos, clubs, bars to try look
  • Lucifer finds Mammon in MC's bedroom, they talk
  • Everyone resolves their conflicts by the end
B plot:
  • Asmo and Levi are fighting because Levi didn't include Asmo on a stream
  • Satan and Belphie are fighting because of an understanding when talking about the Anti-Lucifer defense league

Ep 6: Detective Satan
Main Plot points:
  • A plot- Detective Satan with the younger brothers
  • B plot- Mammon, Lucifer and Levi are taking Mammon to his driving test
Story:
Plot A:
  • Satan solves his brothers mysteries, expanding on 'Detective Satan' 1 and 2.
Plot B:
  • Lucifer and Levi take Mammon to the driving center
  • When Mammon is having his exam with Little D no. 2 as the examiner, Mammon is chased by a guy who he owns a debt to
  • Mammon tries to out drive the debt collecters
  • Levi and Lucifer chase after them in a third car
  • Mammon somehow passes his test

Ep 7: Camp Lucifer
Main Plot points:
  • A plot- Lucifer takes his brothers to a camp
  • B plot- Mammon and Asmo want to go to a party instead
  • C plot- Levi, Satan and Belphie just want to go back home
Story:
Plot A:
  • Lucifer is overzealous about camp, he's doing everything
  • All the brothers gather around the campfire, and each brother wants to get away.
  • When Lucifer goes away to deal with an argument Beel caused because he ate the next door camp's food
  • When he comes back all his brothers except for Beel have gone
  • Beel is eating all the food at the campfire, Lucifer pets him on the head
  • after a while of Lucifer and Beel alone, where Lucifer is just watching Beel eat, Lucifer goes away to wash his hands
  • the rest of the brothers feel bad, and return
  • Lucifer returns and sees ALL his brothers back around the campfire again roasting marshmallows
  • Lucifer joins them
Plot B:
  • Asmo and Mammon have big plans to escape for the night because they heard that a devildom celeb was at a club
  • they sneak out when lucifer is distracted
  • but eventually they return after a while
Plot C:
  • Levi, Belphie and Satan hide in the tents wanting to just rest and get away from all the insects and flies

Ep 8: A trip for 7
Main Plot points:
  • A plot- Belphie is sad because his brothers are treating him different
  • B plot- Road trip with all the brothers in a caravan
Story:
Plot A:
  • Part one and two of 'A trip for 7'
  • Belphie is just watching as his brothers interact
  • but most of the trip takes place in a caravan as they going to their destination
Plot B:
  • The brothers have a pillow fight and play cards without belphie because things are still awkward with him

Ep 9: Beach Babes
Main Plot points:
  • A plot- Mammon trying to get pics of Lucifer shirtless
  • B plot- Asmo takes Beel as his wingman to pick up some 'babes'
Story:
Plot A:
  • Mammon wraps up each of his brothers to help him in his endeavours
  • he asks Levi to dress like an octopus to catch Lucifer off guard
  • he asks Satan to place a curse of Lucifer that raises his body heat until he is so warm he wants to take his shirt off
  • he asks Belphie to create an elaborate trap but Belphie just throws crabs at Lucifer while not even moving from his place under the umbrella
Plot B:
  • Asmo takes Beel with the promise of food to find some 'babes'
  • Asmo tries flirting with some people but Beel is somehow doing better than him
  • Asmo finds someone from behind
  • the 'babe' is actually Solomon

Ep 10: A bunny boy's New Years'
Main Plot points:

Plot A:
  • the brothers have to be bunny boys to make up for Mammon's debt
  • they attend to the dateables
Plot B:
  • Season finale where the dateables recap the whole season

My Opinionated Ranking of Every Playable Character From The Last 16 Years
All ordered from left-to-right. Characters having funny, memorable gameplay quotes had much more bearing on placement than cutscene performances and the quality of their writing. I'll use this space to defend what I believe are some of the more controversial placements, but feel free to roast me in the comments and discuss your favorites that maybe didn't rank as high as you feel they should.
Nikolai (Ultimus) Every. Joke. Lands. The shit where he's dysfunctional-tier wasted on every map. The jokes about how he killed all of his ex wives. The communism jokes ("Why don't we share the ammo?". I have an unending amount of love for this character. He's fucking perfect.
Nixon For many JFK is the clear winner on this map, but I've always loved how far Treyarch went to portray Nixon as an incompetent asshole. I've been playing Five for over a decade now and I still crack up when he shouts at the crawlers saying "Get a job you hippie!". Amazing caricature of such an infamous American figure.
Russman I've got a massive soft spot for boomer humor and "Fuck you, I'm old" jokes. Russman is, objectively, one of the weaker characters in the series regarding his writing, but I can't help but find him charming. Love the light-hearted goofy vibe of the Victis crew and I'll happily take it over the dramatic monologuing of crews like Chaos and Primus.
Samantha I just love playing as the series' OG big bad. One of the most memorable parts of Moon was taking Samantha down a notch and having her react to the nonsense she had been throwing at us since World at War.
Nikolai (Primus) Primus Nikolai breaks my rule stated above about funny, memorable quips being more important than character writing. I feel Nikolai is a rare example of a Primus character adding more depth to their Ultimus counterpart, which for Nikolai is very welcome.
Takeo (Ultimus) I still have his Primis counterpart ranked higher, but Ultimus Takeo is a character I feel gets funnier as time passes by. He's not a badass, but I love how his character slowly becomes more unhinged as Black Ops 1 eases along. Something in the perk colas turned him into an absolute goofball and I'm totally here for it.
Dempsey (Ultimus & Primus) Dempsey easily changed the least between Ultimus and Primus. While I still love him, I feel he's aged opposite to Takeo. The badass American with all the one-liners was funny in the 2010s, but it feels a bit old now (atleast to me). That being said, he's still iconic and will always have a place in my A tier.
Marlton I know. He's pretentious, a simp, and a sissy. Zombies hit him and he screams like a girl. He's alot of things that should be annoying, but I've never been bothered by him like other people. As a gun nerd I love listening to him geek out about the dumb BOII/BOIIII sci-fi weapons and I like the dichotomy between him and Misty. They're total opposites, which makes it fun to listen to them banter.
Gideon and Christina "Dead of The Night characters this high? That map was ASS." I agree. I've never liked any of the BOIIII maps and even gave the game a pass when it first released. Going back and playing these maps for this tierlist though, I think these two were overshadowed a bit by all the trash performances around them. Cowboy Roebuck being every American stereotype from the time? Amazing. Helena Bonham Carter as a spoiled, pompous British conwoman? She killed it. They still aren't the best, but I think they earned their places in B. They're a comfy respite from the rest of BOIIII.
The Mob of The Dead cast I know I'm wrong. These characters are fantastically written and performed. We finally got zombies characters that weren't loud stereotypes. That being said, I have never gravitated towards serious zombies. Mob of The Dead is an extremely fun map in every way a map can succeed, but the crew's gameplay quotes have always just been whatever to me. I will say that their downed quotes are some of the best performed and written dialogue in the entire CoD franchise; it's just that they sorta take me out of the experience.
Richtoften (Primis) My bias (again) against serious writing in zombies. Everything this man says makes me want to turn off the game and go take a nap. I was never interested in the Black Ops III subplot of his mysterious plan and where his allegiances lied. He's still Richtoften so I can't put him below C, but I honestly just don't like anything about him.
Drostan The least bad part of the WWII zombies cast. Sledgehammer was clearly trying to recreate the charm of Ultimus with Drostan and I think in some ways they succeeded. He's still not the best, but he's leagues ahead of his peers and I don't think a great map like the Final Reich would feel playable without him.
The Chaos Crew So boring. Bruno's personality saves him a bit, I like the archetypal big guy with the dry sense of humor and Shaw's got some funny quips, but Scarlett and Diego are so painfully boring. The Chaos maps gameplay is so in your face and trying to hold you're attention, but the dialogue on those two feels so out of tune with what's actually going on.
The Verrückt Marines A great benchmark to compare the other characters. I don't hate the marines; in a way they make me feel like I'm playing the WaW campaign which is nothing but good memories. That being said though, their tone doesn't fit zombies very well and they're mad generic. Shoutout to Paxton (or Dempsey, not sure) for all the Army of Darkness quotes. Anyone below this is so annoying or boring that I'd rather they be replaced by generic soldiers.
The IW Zombies crew I just have no interest at all in these characters. They're boring, and the constant changing personalities every map didn't exactly help flesh them out. My apologies to anyone that likes them, but IW as a whole is a big pass for me.
Pam Grier Not sure if this is controversial or not but this has gotta be one of the worst performances in the series. You can tell with every word that comes out of her mouth how little she wants to be there. As an actress she's done some amazing work, but as a voice actress she failed. Never cook again.
Floyd Campbell Ron Perlman gave the worst performance of his career here. It sounds like he's reading his lines while sitting on the couch at home trying to memorize them for the actual recording. I can't help but think this is a directorial issue or maybe a mistake made in the editing process, like maybe the wrong lines were used. Regardless, I have no clue how his lines made it into the final release of a Triple-A game, let alone the followup to the legendary BOII.
The WWII crew Oh God, what happened? At the very least I can say Marie is decently written and Drostan's quips are fine. But man, the other two are phoning it in hard. What's the point of using your budget on big name actors when they give performances like this. Some of Jefferson and Olivia's lines venture into "So bad it's funny" territory.

I remember tappei once saying arc 1 and the final arc will be the most important arcs in re zero. So how does arc 1 place 2nd to the final arc full of big reveals with it's short length. I think it's probably going to come back full circle in some way.
Not necessarily as in oh no subaru now has to restart the whole adventure at the end again but like there hints or foreshadowing given in this arc to us from the beginning and had the most important characters for the finale perhaps ?
Subaru and emilia are obvious. Reinhard also potentially very important. Felt is most likely to become king. Elsa is dead (forget her). Puck is full of mystery. But that apple guy Kadmon intrigues me a little with how much attention he was given by the author.
He is married to a woman born to important characters, first character subaru interacts with, his name sounds similar to Adam Kadmon and offers subaru a free apple and you know there's gotta be some christian allegory at the end just like stars and constellation. Tappei bothered to give him a birthdate and is stated to really care about subaru in a q and a.
What is he cooking?!!! How is arc 1 going to be super important at the end besides setting up the story ? Oh and don't forget folks. He just said that mural we saw in the first anime pv could be actually a plot point. The mural of those two who might be the witch and the great sage with intertwined fates in a fucking church. This was meant to be a story of a boy saving a girl and telling her his feelings after all that's all there is to it in the words of arc 3 narration.
And the theory that he made the contract with satella in the first death.
