2024.05.17 00:27 TruthWillOwt Ghost Orders from Amazon? I'm being charged, goods arriving but I didn't place order!

I received a package today from Amazon that I didn't order, and my card has been charged over £100 for this and another order. I contacted Amazon and they claim they were made from an account in my name, with my card and using my address but a different phone number, that was setup two days ago!
Logically it seems impossible for this to happen unless it was a glitch/hack within Amazon. Maybe someone placed a genuine order and their clearly decaying systems somehow misassigned them to my account? Why would someone even order goods to be sent to me and how would they clone my account?

5 Star cards for Trade
Hey players, so I have a question: are you allowed to request the rare finds And we just can’t give them away without trading or can they not be traded at all? I’m confused. If I’m allowed to trade them, I will. I need most of the 4-5 cards in the high numbered sets (11-21 basically) so I’m definitely up to bargain. Show me what you’ve got and make sure you still have trades left, let’s help each other out!

2024.05.17 00:16 blizzardboy123 Is this Wealthsimple's worst offering yet?

I received a Beta invitation for the wealthsimple credit card.
The card has a promotional 2% cashback rate after which you only earn 1% cashback.
The fees are $10/month ($120/year) and is waived if you're a premium or generation client. In order to be a premium client, you need to have $100K in holdings with WS.
I have a cibc dividend visa infinite which also has a $120/year fees, but is waived if you have a smart plus account. The smart plus account only requires you to keep $6K in the account to avoid the monthly account fees. Plus the cashback is up to 4% dependent on the type of purchase.
How did WS mess up a credit card so much? The base rate is 1% which means I need to spend atleast $1K/month to get back the $10/month fees, which will end up getting paid back to WS. The $100K barrier to avoid fees is too much for the average Canadian. The interest rate is the same as any other credit card.
Nothing stands out for this credit card.
I really hope that WS drops the fees eventually.

Made out like a bandit
Look I'm not a pre built guy, and definitely not a big fan of Dell. this is literally my first pre built in over two decades but for the price there was no pre built even coming close to this. Managed another 15%, off from rakuten and another 5% off through my credit card so final price was roughly 1800$ out of pocket. Insane deal

2024.05.17 00:12 ReasonIllustrious418 The mid-late 1970s is the optimum setting for a Cold War gone hot

While air and naval superiority were still expected with the Soviet Navy being projected as being incapable of stopping Reforger units from reaching West Germany and NATO pilots being better trained on 3rd generation platforms, (Warsaw Pact Forces Opposite NATO, 1979) the ground fight was still very much in the air with there being concern from the CIA that the Soviets could and would win (Intelligence and Soviet Armor, 1980). Props for the devs for pushing the start date back even further to 1976 with the in development BAOR dlc.
Both sides were too evenly matched in nuclear weapons and the Soviets wanted to keep a ground war conventional for as long as possible before accepting things will escalate to a limited or theatre wide exchange with it being assumed NATO would launch the first strike due to overwhealming enemy conventional force.
The US only introduced M735 in 1978 and it could only penetrate the T-64/72 glacis out to 1km and lethally spall out to 1.5. Soviet BM-22 could kill an M-60, Leopard 1, or Chieftan out to any combat range.
TOW baselines could only kill with a glacis hit as was shown with firing tests with East German T-72M1s and a 105mm HEAT round with the same penetration as the TOW.
M-774 which could pen a T-72M1 glacis with 16mm stopgap plate out to 3 km wouldn't be available untill 40,000 XM-774 rounds started production in FY 1979 (Congressional hearings) and probably didn't reach the troops untill around '81.
Things slowly start to work in NATO's favor from 1983ish onwards.
Abrams tanks didn't actually arrive in Germany untill Reforger '82 and from 1983 CENTAG was operating a 50/50 mix of M60A3s and Abrams tanks both of which were equipped with thermals and automatic lead vs T-64A/Bs and a small number of T-80s as they'd just become operational outside of training units. The T-80 had the same kvartz turret armor and glacis armor as the T-72A/M1 but with automatic lead and gun launched atgms. The West Germans were also now operating a mix of upgraded Leopard 1s with the same goodies of the M60A3 and Leopard 2s. American and Soviet armor was effectively even with the Americans/West Germans having the optics, thermals, and fire controll advantages
Once you get to 1989 it's basically the American and British forces that fought in the Gulf vs a very demoralized Pact clients using the same gear as the Republican Guard and the Soviets. An 87 RAND wargame predicted the Czechs would defect as soon as they found out they'd be facing Americans and the CIA noted Polish troop morale deteriorating as early as 1984. M1A1HAs had started reaching CENTAG along with Silver Bullet rounds which were superior to Soviet BM-32/42 and orders of magnitude better than Pact Client T-72M1s equipped with BM-15 which even the 1979 Abrams was impervious to on the turret with and the upper hull plate merely being spalled at point blank. The Gulf War loadout for 120mm gun tanks M1A1/HA was 7 M829A1s and a load of M829 baselines (roughly equivalent to BM-32). The US also now had tandem warhead TOW-2As which according to Redstone Arsenal had been introduced in 1987.
The Soviets only had ~400 T-80Us west of the Urals by the end of 1990 mostly positioned in Ukraine and close to Moscow (T-80 the Last Soviet Armored Champion) The T-80BV and 64BV were the most advanced MBTs available to Soviet troops in East Germany.

2024.05.17 00:12 Extreme-Agent-536 iMessage stopped working

Another day another problem. I upgraded to iPhone 15 2 days ago and since then weird stuff has been happening with my iMessage. 1. In a group chat I showed up with my email instead of number and now I’m as 3 separate contacts there- friends added both my emails even though they merged them in to one contact. And also I receive messages in this group on my watch from myself even though have both my emails in my contact card
2. Earlier today I was able to send iMessage by my friend could only text me - they were receiving messages as iMessage but replied in text
3. Now I can’t send iMessage for some reason - 1 message went out the rest is not going trough. Also checked other contact and after few tries it did go out and shows up as delivered on the watch not the phone (but I know those receipts sometimes are delayed)
I did turn off and on the iMessage in between turning off the phone and still nothing it’s super annoying does anyone have idea what to do? 😖
Edit: the friend who had issues with messaging me earlier shows up in green now but I still see that they have silenced notifications Edit 2: also the iMessage sync keeps pausing even when I have WiFi but maybe the reason the battery is under 50%?
Also I have iOS 17.5

2024.05.17 00:09 Ok-Hope-8521 Hypocrisy among Christians

I’ve seen Christians critique Islam for allowing 4 wives, Mohammad marrying Aisha, not abolishing slavery, capital punishment etc but use every excuse in the book for violence and cruelty in the Bible which far surpasses Islam.
Christians believe Jesus is god which inspired the Bible that have verses like these:
Samuel 15, Genocide of the amalekites: Samuel said to Saul, “I am the one the Lord sent to anoint you king over his people Israel; so listen now to the message from the Lord. This is what the Lord Almighty says: ‘I will punish the Amalekites for what they did to Israel when they waylaid them as they came up from Egypt. Now go, attack the Amalekites and totally destroy all that belongs to them. Do not spare them; put to death men and women, children and infants, cattle and sheep, camels and donkeys.’”
Exodus 21:20-21, beating slaves: “Anyone who beats their male or female slave with a rod must be punished if the slave dies as a direct result, but they are not to be punished if the slave recovers after a day or two, since the slave is their property.
Numbers 31:17-18, sex slaves after genocide: Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him.
But all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves.
Hosea 13:16, violence: The people of Samaria must bear their guilt, because they have rebelled against their God. They will fall by the sword; their little ones will be dashed to the ground, their pregnant women ripped open.
Psalm 137:9, child murder: Blessed the one who seizes your children and smashes them against the rock: the children represent the future generations, and so must be destroyed if the enemy is truly to be eradicated
Exodus 21: 7-8, selling daughters as slaves: “If a man sells his daughter as a servant, she is not to go free as male servants do. If she does not please the master who has selected her for himself,[a] he must let her be redeemed. He has no right to sell her to foreigners, because he has broken faith with her.
Now tell me why the loving Jesus would order these things?

2024.05.17 00:01 Background-Price6382 What's the angle on this scam?

We own a eyelash salon. In subsequent days we have had two guests who did almost the exact same thing. First, we require a card on file. After the appointment, they pay $30 cash and ask to charge a different card for the balance. They both left 5$ tips. That is unusually low. Thn. They email customer service about a allergic reaction and threaten legal action. They also leave us a bad review, that is scammy sounding. It's our policy to offer a lash removal (which they decline) and then we refund the card used. They then claim they want to come to the studio to get the cash refunded.
Both addresses used were random business at the surrounding area, and the phone numbers are not real, in one case it's an escort service. Aside from a free set of eyelashes, am I missing anything here?

(May 16, 2023) – IBC Advanced Alloys Corp. (“ ” or the “ ”) ( ) announces its financial results for the quarter ended March 31, 2024. IBC recorded its highest ever quarterly net income in the quarter of $1.36 million, or $0.01 per share, on sales of $10.2 million. Both net income and sales revenue set new quarterly records for the Company. Consolidated sales of $34.3 million on a TTM basis and sales of $27.0 million in the nine-month period ended March 31, 2024 also were the highest ever recorded. Consolidated Adjusted EBITDA rose to $2.5 million, a Q/Q increase of 325%, while YTD Adjusted EBITDA rose to $4.5 million. Consolidated operating income of $2.1 million was 24.4% higher Q/Q and flipped to a positive $3.2 million YOY. Net income for the nine months ended March 31, 2024 was $1.14 million ($0.01 per share) on sales of $27.0 million compared to a loss of $2.92 million ($0.03 per share) on sales of $21.2 million in the comparative period, representing a marked turnaround. This record performance was driven largely by increased sales and stronger gross margin performance in IBC’s Copper Alloys division, coupled with higher sales revenue from the Engineered Materials division of beryllium-aluminum products used in defense markets, and the recovery of an onerous contracts provision booked in the prior year. The Copper Alloys division also achieved near-record quarterly sales of $6.6 million, eclipsed only by sales of $7.1 million in the preceding quarter. A portion of the division’s sales over the preceding two quarters was driven by the completion of two special non-recurring projects. “The IBC team worked tirelessly to achieve some fantastic numbers and historic gains in the third fiscal quarter, which continued the strong sales and gross margin performance of the previous quarter," said Mark A. Smith, Chairman and CEO of IBC. “I like the momentum that we are generating, particularly with the leading performance of our Copper Alloys division. While market conditions have triggered closure of our Engineered Materials division sometime this summer, that team is striving to generate substantially to IBC’s bottom line as Engineered Materials completes contracts on hand.” IBC expects to incur a charge to operations in respect of its April decision to close the Engineered Materials division and is negotiating with suppliers and the building landlord to minimize such costs. Sales increased for the quarter and nine-month period ended March 31, 2024, mostly due to increased demand from customers in the defense and power generation sectors. Gross profit was positively impacted by improved material yield but negatively impacted by higher subcontract costs. Sales increased for the quarter and nine-month period ended March 31, 2024, largely due to more favorable prices for the division’s products in the commercial and defense markets. IBC believes that operating income (loss) helps identify underlying trends in the business that could otherwise be distorted by the effect of certain income or expenses that the Company includes in loss for the period, and provides useful information about core operating results, enhances the overall understanding of past performance and future prospects, and allows for greater visibility with respect to key metrics used by management in financial and operational decision-making. The Company believes that Adjusted EBITDA is a useful indicator for cash flow generated by the business that is independent of IBC’s capital structure. Operating income (loss) and Adjusted EBITDA should not be considered in isolation or construed as an alternative to loss for the period or any other measure of performance or as an indicator of our operating performance. Operating income (loss) and Adjusted EBITDA presented here may not be comparable to similarly titled measures presented by other companies. Other companies may calculate similarly titled measures differently, limiting their usefulness as comparative measures to IBC’s data. Operating income (loss) represents income or loss for the quarter, and year-to-date, excluding foreign exchange loss, interest expense, interest income, other income (expense) and income taxes that the Company does not believe are reflective of its core operating performance during the periods presented. A reconciliation of the quarter and year-to-date loss to operating income (loss) follows: Adjusted EBITDA represents the Company’s income (loss) for the period, and year-to-date, before interest, income taxes, depreciation, amortization, and share-based compensation. A reconciliation of the quarter and year-to-date loss to Adjusted EBITDA follows: For more information on IBC and its innovative alloy products, . On Behalf of the Board of Directors: Mark A. 2024.05.16 23:56 Cup_Of_Joe_P No Valid Serial Number, Can't Contact Support

I've just received a new TITAN Evo chair today and I have an issue with the tilt lock mechanism. I'm trying to contact support, but I only have one serial # to work with and the website says it's invalid, so I can't submit a ticket to even start working on my issue.
The serial number I'm trying to use is printed on a label under the magnetic side cover; there is no serial number on the backrest's tag and there was no serial number sticker on my assembly card.
What do I do? Is there some other way to contact Secretlab?

2024.05.16 23:52 jeanrenefefe How to upgrade a Creative Zen Micro to 128gb (with and without a VM)

I know this is an iPod subreddit, but it's the most active subreddit dedicated to mp3 players (I think). I know there are some fans of these players around here but let me know if you want this gone though.
After a few frustrating weeks of trying to upgrade my Creative Zen Micro to 128gb, I finally succeeded on upgrading it. Here is a step by step.

With a Virtual Machine

Given that the software part can get very frustrating, I suggest that you first focus on creating a working environment based on your stock mp3 player. This will limit the number of things that can go wrong.
This was tested on a Windows 11 machine (called Host from now on).
Download Virtualbox. Use your own Windows XP SP2 image or find one (google: archive + WinXPProSP2ENG). Download the Windows Media Player 10 updater from archive.org Download the Creative Zen Micro drivers and upgraders from archive.org
Install Virtualbox. Install Windows XP on Virtualbox - this can be a big step if you don't have much experience in this field, but there are plenty of tutorials on how to do it - check the references below.
Now that you have your Windows XP VM (called Guest from now on) up and running, go to the Devices tab on the top of your screen and click on "Insert guest additions CD...". This will insert a virtual CD containing some Virtualbox drivers and you'll get a pop up on your Guest machine. Install them and reboot your machine.
Turn off your Guest machine.
Connect the Zen Micro to your Host machine. Your Host machine should recognize the player with no trouble.
In Virtualbox, click on your VM machine and go to settings > USB > USB2.0 > click on the 'plus' sign and add your device there. The name should be "Creative...".
Now, in the same settings menu, go to the tab "shared folders" and click on "add". Now, choose the folder you want to share between the Host and the Guest machines. Give it a name and a mount point. I picked "sharewithxp" for all the fields, including the name of the directory on Host. Check 'auto-mount' and 'make permanent' (if it exists).
On your Host machine, copy the files MP10Setup.exe, ZenMicroPDE_PCFW_LB_1_11_01.exe and JB3MV2_PCWDRV_US_2_01_00.EXE to the shared directory you just created. Also copy MP10Setup.exe.
Turn on your Guest machine and go to "My Computer". You should see your shared folder in there. Copy all the files from there to your Guest's desktop.
Install MP10Setup.exe - this upgrades the Windows Media Player from 9 to 10. By experience, Windows Media Player 11 was problematic and apparently 9 isn't ok either. Stick to WMP 10. This was key for me. It really didn't work without WMP10.
Install JB3MV2_PCWDRV_US_2_01_00.EXE - these are the drivers for the Zen Micro.
Disconnect your Zen Micro from your computer. Connect it again. Go to devices > usb on the top menu and make sure your device is selected.
Execute ZenMicroPDE_PCFW_LB_1_11_01.exe If everything went according to plan you should now see an "Upgrade" button. If you see said button - congratulations because this was the most painful part of the process. I realized that when the device is correctly loaded, the executable won't open right away - It takes a few seconds. If the device wasn't fully recognized, you'll see a message saying "Your player is not connected, please connect your player".
(If you got the dreadful second message and no "upgrade" button, try to reboot your Guest machine. Disconnect and connect your player again. Make sure it appears on the devices menu.)
Now that you have a working environment, let's move to the fun part.
Format your micro sd card (fat32 if I'm not mistaken) - I used a Sandisk Extreme 128gb (the golden ones) and it worked fine. Insert the micro sd on your CF-to-SD adapter. I got the the only adapter I could find (red one).
Disassemble your Zen Micro - there are tutorials and videos around that show you how to do it better than I possible could - check the references below.
Remove the CF card from the mp3 player and insert the adapter. Pay attention to the position of the old CF card. CF cards don’t have a big distinguishable difference on one side like sd cards do. It's really easy to get mistaken and connect it on the wrong side. The only differences are the slots/openings on both sides of the CF card/adapter - one is larger than the other. When the adapter is connected and in place, its label should be visible (pointing upwards). Take a picture of the original CF card if needed or check the video in the references below.
Assemble everything back but do not insert the battery right away.
Toggle the power button to the left and hold it that position. Insert the battery. You should now be in recovery mode. Navigate to "format all" and click ok. Navigate to "reboot" and click ok.
Connect your player to the computer and, in the Guest machine, make sure it is selected on the devices > usb menu.
Open ZenMicroPDE_PCFW_LB_1_11_01.exe If everything went according to plan, the upgrade button should now be visible. Click. Wait. Enjoy.
PS: Inside the Creative Zen Micro link, there is also an upgrader for the most recent version - 2.21. I haven't tried it because I don't think it brings anything that interesting to the player. There are also 2 older drivers in there - also untested.

Without a VM (native Windows XP running on a modern computer)

Soon.

2024.05.16 23:52 jorgecasanova_ Is there any way to skip paying for the physical Curve card in order to use Zepp Pay on the Balance watch?

Is there any way to skip paying for the physical Curve card in order to use Zepp Pay on the Balance watch?
Hey guys! So i was wondering if its possible to skip selecting a plan and physical card on the Curve app. Truth is I dont want to pay 6€ (my country is spain) for a physical card Im never going to use, since id only be needing to have Curve’s digital card (basically its number) to add it to the Zepp app and use it to pay with my watch. Thanks in advance!

2024.05.16 23:50 Hel-Low5302 Can anyone help me figure out why my simulation data is not going through the output port?

I'm a beginner in FPGA programming and I'm trying to implement a noise filter in Verilog on Vivado. When I run behavioral simulation, the output from the filter (x_dat) gives unknown values. I'm trying to run around 100 kHz by doing calculations every 1024 clock cycles with a 125 MHz clock. I'm also doing a division with the Divider Generator IP inside the filter, and the output from that (k_gain) is also unknown (X). The dac_dat_o is the data output from the signal generator that generates a sine wave with the output from the adc_clk , which works fine. Does anyone have any other suggestions on how I can make my calculations run faster?
I spread the calculations to multiple cycles manually (setting a multicycle path as a constraint was too complicated for me) so that there wouldn't be a timing failure. For context, I'm modifying one of Anton Potocnik's projects. Here is my code (full version here):
