Kep1er lore summary

Pre-Debut
Let's rewind back the time, to October 2021. At that time Kep1er was announced with a logo motion of two suns colliding. Through my theories we learnt that a NASA mission called Kepler, as the famous astronomer, discovered systems of Binary Stars, basically solar systems made of two big stars revolving together.
Debut, WA DA DA Era
Kep1er debuted on Mnet M Countdown with an intro before their Hot Debut stage. In this intro Chaehyun is the first girl in a silent universe, so she start sending radio signals. The other girls copy, now they want to find each others. At that time the two suns are getting closer. When they'll become one, the whole universe will be painted lavender. In Wa Da Da they tried to find each other by sending and receiving those radio signals. Someone responded and that's how the travel has begun.
Queendom 2 Era
In the stages performed during the show various world were visited, from an underwater planet to a dying planet and even a wonderland planet. The search has just started.
Up! Era
They land in a Earth-like planet. Chaehyun looked like she was waiting for them, Mashiro keeps receiving signals from the radio and checking other devices. In this world they find a blinking lemon, maybe through this they will get more information on the exact location of the other selves.
Wing Wing Era
Their Japanese debut adds little to no lore. Some references were made with loud speakers and satellite dishes, meaning that the search is still going on.
Sugar Rush Era
Here they visit a Dreamworld to help a little girl get over a nightmare, revealing that they can travel through both real and imaginary dimensions.
We Fresh Era
This time they land on a futuristic cyberpunk world where they're secret heroes in training. In a galaxy far, far away, there existed a special planet, where heroes are born, we welcome you to Kep1anet." From this point on, all events happen in this world.
I Do, do you? Era
Kep1er are still girls in love and they end up having a prom party but things goes wrong when the guy they had to meet dances with another girl.
Giddy Era
A huge crustal heart lands on Kep1anet, infusing love and curiosity in Kep1er. They somehow manage to enter in this extraterrestrial body with a key and destroy it, painting the town pink.
Galileo Era
While visiting an art gallery Kep1er end up inside the paintings while chasing after the gallery owner, a cat named Galileo. You know what? The actual owner was Xiaoting for the entire time!
As you can read, Kep1er lore has not ever been so deep. Important events happened only until We Fresh, where after several light years travelled around the galaxy Kep1er found the most suitable planet for them to wait for any further signals from their other alter-egos they've searched so far. This time has finally come at the very last of their career as a whole group.
Welcome to the last chapter of Kep1er lore, this is the Epilogue.
Close Encounters of the Third Kind - Steven Spielberg, 1977

MV Breakdown

Nine comets are traveling through outer space, these shooting stars are Kep1er alter-egos, running to meet the other selves the kept searching since ever. In a scene inside a fictitious shooting stastarship Bahiyyh senses something as the comet approaches the Milky Way galaxy. Xiaoting feel this sense in a deeper way, she has a vision of a wavy holographic orb glowing and a glimpse of the planet Earth. What is this orb?
The shooting stars have reached Earth and they start falling in its atmosphere, heading to the city where their Kep1er alter-egos are located.
Finally, they land in the modern city as nine white luminescent avatars with Kep1er resemblances. The two alter-ego teams meet on a rooftop. The Earthlings seems surprised but happy, like a meeting between old friends, their smile is bittersweet because they know they won't meet again. They came, in this moment they're together, that's what it matters. Now they're complete.
Light Kep1ers fly around the city. While Mashiro is wandering through Seoul by night, the wavy orb Xiaoting dreamed of is seen shining in the sky in pink and yellow. Could this be the Sun that has become one?
And just how they came, the shooting stars flew away. They were like a dream, a dream you remember for life.
Despite the rushed MV production, we got the message clear. The distant Kep1er alter-egos that kept sending their signals finally located other selves on Kep1anet (Earth) so they came as shooting stars. They met, shared this union between the two suns and flew by. to new, other girls like Kep1er earthlings in other planets in the vast universe.

Lyrics Breakdown

Shooting Star
Announcing another beginning (Let's start) The Light Kep1er will embark in a new journey to find other girls, this Earth ark has ended and they will start again (from the next comeback, with 2 members less).
Oh, all the time, following the light
In that moment, I found you just like that day, I appear in front of you like destiny Light Kep1er found Earth Kep1er as fate said, they "appeared" exactly like in the MV.
See you again and again and again, In another galaxy as Light-Kep1er travel at light speed they will see other Kep1er of different timelines and galaxies.
Embracing each other's flames fully Two suns embracing their flames fully together, when they merge into one.
Curious
Keep it up, you and my orbit that seems to overlap Light Kep1er are like comets in outer space so they can overlap with other celestial bodies.
I found you in Columbus Can't find anything astronomical about Columbus besides a spacecraft module, but I'm sure it's something related.
Double Up!
Have an unforgettable voyage the journey Light Kep1er are doing across the whole universe
Kep 1 going Up!
Ah, the sun I encountered when the two suns meet, when the two Kep1er united on Earth.
Why does this orb look so similar to the METABALL that connects I-LAND to GROUND in the new Mnet survival show I-Land 2...

Last Theory

By recalling what was discussed in Wa Da Da [THEORY] post, there was a scene where Kep1er walked away from a screen showing other Kep1er in a house. Those girls could be the future shooting stars which started their journey in that moment, or it was just one of the dimensions/worlds they visited to find all other Kep1er.
"The whole universe colored with lavender" could have a new final meaning: Kep1er wandering in every galaxy to find girls like them, connect with all of them and spreading their message, their dream, their color.
Third Impact, The End of Evangelion (why is there a star in a different color...)

Farewell

That's it, the end. The Kep1ore has ended and with it our two years and half with all the girls. The story behind their videos has never been very deep, enigmatic or twisted like other groups unfortunately, but I managed somehow to connect everything together to get give them dignity. Let's hope a brighter future for all members of Kep1er and a more interesting story concept behind their next contents in the entertainment industry, under any agency they will re-debut.
It was such a pleasure to write these little analyses comeback by comeback, especially each time a new teaser was uploaded. I wish you enjoyed reading my theories as much as I enjoyed writing them. I'll stop making these [THEORY] posts for Kep1er but if you like this content maybe you can look up at my other [THEORY] posts I write on NMIXX with the same structure.
Let's meet again in other subs, in other theories threads. Let's support the girls in their next groups or other careers they want to follow. Bye bye!
If you feel generous, buy me an album!

2024.06.09 21:42 -_-Kawaiii-_- Help me find this manga

hello, can someone help me find this manga, I'm not sure if it's an anime or a manga, but I don't think there's an anime like this, I don't remember much, but it's about a girl and a boy, I think they were childhood friends, and I only remember some scenes, the first scene where a girl went to school for the two of them with a black limousine, she looked like a child but was older than them I think she has white hair, I'm not sure but I think that the girl wanted to find out why the boy moved away when they were little but I'm not sure, the older girl somehow helped her look into his past, I don't know how, I remember that the girl woke up in bed with the boy and they were both in their underwear, they both thought it was just their illusion of them self, like the boy thought that the girl was just his imagination and the girl thought the same but they were both there together, then her Mom came into the room, the boy hid under the blanket and his head was in her šŸ±and he was blushing, then I don't remember what happened but then he was somehow lost and wandered there in his child's body and his memories ran through there, the girl saw what he was doing and how he was feeling. his memories were vividly there she watched him and they accidentally met she was in her normal form but he was there as a child, they sat on the bench and he was sad and said something to her she calmed him down and hugged him then in his normal form he remembered that someone helped him in the past, but I don't know if he knew that it was her, his mom even appeared there and said something to her, and I remember that the older girl kept asking her if she was doing something with him, something sexual, she was very interested in the topic, I think it was some pills that she was testing on them and she wanted to know if it will work with making love, I think I'm not sure. Please let me know if someone knows the name I'm šŸ˜desperate!!

2024.06.09 21:42 AidennQWS [1ST GEN XBOX] [1990-2005] Galactic like game with a "weird" beginning

Platform(s): First gen Xbox or other platforms
Genre: I don't remember right, galactic or alien like with quests/collect?
Estimated year of release: 1990-2005
Graphics/art style: Old game graphics, like the early games, colorful perhaps? (not sure)
Notable characters: 2-3 guys and 1 girl, a friend group
Notable gameplay mechanics: Collecting things to unlock places or story
Other details:
I had the first generation xbox long time ago, (like the black box with the middle green logo on with the old controllers.) I was like around 7-9 at this time (i'm an 2005 guy) and my dad wanted to give me some games to play on the xbox, the problem is : My dad made a cd with lots of cracked games on and might have put some emulated ones and also, i'm polish/french and don't know what language it was. (probably polish or english)
So the game i'm looking for is a really old game, maybe like around 1990-2005 for the release, i remember there was like multiple places or planets where I had to collect stuff to unlock other things to continue, unlock maybe like teleport? doors?, my memories are really blurry, i remember it being colorful, alien like perhaps? (but like human like characters) and i don't remember it being a shooting game but i will take shooting game's suggestions.
The thing that makes me ask this is ONE scene of the game. The beginning.
It kinda traumatized me for my young self back then, i remember this perfectly, when you start a new game there's a couple of friends like maybe 3-4 walking (some guys and a girl, in a forest or idk), but one of the friend's films them walking and starts filming the girl's back and she gets mad. (then there's another scene and the game starts.)
I know it's maybe weird to remember this part but it made me uncomfortable, it played the game a few times and always got uncomfortable with this moment.

S3E9 - zoom in on letter of recommendation for YETI
This is going to be a real dork out, but I am rewatching Ugly Betty Season 3 Episode 9 and am SPOILER watching the scene where Daniel finally writes Betty a letter of recommendation so she be part of YETI. The prop people must have had some kind of inside joke going on because Betty's name switches to Cathy halfway down the page. And then the following pages are all just garbage words. I'm guessing they weren't expecting people to freeze frame in on it.
My question is who is Cathy and why is she being mentioned? Is this a reference to the Cathy cartoon or a person on staff that they wanted to shout out. Would love any inside gossip even though the show is so old lol

2024.06.09 21:28 bolieride The One Ring - Strider mode thoughts and questions

Hi all!! I just finished my first round with Strider Mode. I have run ToR 1e once for a group, and had the 2e books gathering dust; and since I have started solo'ing, I dusted them off and got down to business.
This post is longer than it probably needs to be, but I have lots of thoughts.
A quick side observation, my first rpg (aside from Lone Wolf and Choose your own Adventure books) was the Red Box DnD. I have read many rpg books in my numerous years. But ToR 2e (and I would included 1e) books seem far more obtuse than other games. Nothing is easy to find, the index is not worth flipping to and there is not really a distilled action summary. It is all written in a very verbose, long-winded prose. And maybe that was what they were going for, but it doesn't work on a game reference book.
So, when my Ranger went off on her quest from her patron, I hit my first "uhhhhh" moment. She needed to travel to remote village to see what the Shadow may have wanted from it. Here is how I did it:
This is how I ran the whole session. I enjoyed it and it worked, I am just not sure I was correct.
All in all it was a good experience, and start to this character's story. I have been running a solo AD&D 1e game with 6 characters and struggling for it to feel organic or like I had a story going. Maybe it was because I am a avid reader of Tolkien (well beyond LoTR or Hobbit), or maybe it was because it was one character but it worked more like I have started a story.
I am still struggling with the random tables, to define the scenario (action, aspect, focus in this game, Mythic and such for others). I am not great at it. I seem to have a block when doing it solo, but can do it better on the fly when I GM...go figure.
I really wished they had a cohesive rules summary in the book. It is just all over and hard to figure out what should be done and when. For instance, even on the loremaster screen it doesn't tell you what weary mechanically does...(1,2,3 are 0) In the combat section of the book it doesn't cover that part, it is back at the beginning of the book.
I did read the rules, but found more than once I ended the section and missed something pertinent, which as a good reader is frustrating!
I also desperately need a table of names. Names are so important in Middle Earth, and having to find the culture, then look through the names is bothersome. I spent a lot of time trying to name a town! There is nothing in the core to help me. Looking online for Tolkien name generators, well that is a rabbit hole.
So, it was a good time, but the book leaves a lot to be desired and makes it very difficult to run a smooth game.

2024.06.09 21:27 tr6487 Betrayal of the highest kind: How Antichrists turned Jesus into a sex-is-sin religion

The purpose of this post is to point out the false translations of words in the New Testament. These false translations paint sex and fun as something bad.
Before we dive into how antichrists changed the meaning of words, let us first discuss things in a general, Christian, spiritual manner. False Christianity such as Catholicism claims and believes that sex is sin. They view sex as a bad thing. They condemn sex without marriage. They condemn sex when condoms are used or other contraceptives. They condemn sex when it is not for procreation but just for pleasure. They condemn homosexual sex. They condemn masturbation. They condemn sexual pleasure in general. And even though they allow sex in a marriage if it is for procreation, the spirit of their religion views even that as sinful. In short, sex and sexual pleasure is sin to them. It is a sex-is-sin religion.
This accusatory, vile religion is of course not Christian. How is it compatible with the principle of love? People having sex is not against the principle of love. Sex is not an act against love. If people have consensual sex, it is not contrary to 'love your neighbor'. On the contrary, God has made us and given us a sexuality and sex. We can gladly enjoy all the good things God has given us.
In fact, everyone with a conscience and feeling can see how evil and wrong this sex-is-sin religion is. It accuses the sex lovers and gives them a bad conscience. It calls good evil. It is the opposite of 'love your neighbor'. And all that in Jesus' name. As if this cruel sex-is-sin religion was from Jesus.
How did this sex-is-sin religion come about? It was the work of so-called early Christians, such as the 'Church Fathers'. The earliest of those was probably Polycarp of Smyrna who supposedly lived from 69 to 155. Some claim he has seen John the apostle. As we can see, these Church Fathers are not really that early. There is at least two generations between them and the apostles. That does not mean that the sex-is-sin religion did not start really early. It could have very well started somewhat earlier than Polycarp. John said there was already the spirit of antichrist and many antichrists (1 John 2:18, 4:3).
These antichrists twisted and changed the meaning of words. Probably the most prominent word they twisted to establish their sex-is-sin religion is the Greek word porneia. They basically changed it to mean 'fornication' or 'sexual immorality' which means all forms of sex and sexual pleasure except for sex in a marriage for procreation. But that is of course not what porneia means.
The word porneia does not appear often in classical Greek literature. Therefore, its meaning is not easy to establish. It most likely means an illegal trade exchange or a trade exchange involving trickery. Some ancient Greek societies had laws concerning the sale of sexual services. If prostitution was carried out in a way contrary to those laws, it was illegal commerce and it was called porneia, an illegal trade exchange. Note that prostitution in general was not called porneia, just illegal prostitution.
The word porneia was also used for trade exchanges that did not involve sexual services. Esau is called a pornos, someone involved in porneia, in Hebrews 12:16 because he sold his birthright for a single meal to his brother Jacob. When this happened, Esau came from hunting in the field and was exhausted. Jacob took advantage of his situation and charged his birthright for the meal. This is a prime example of porneia, a trade exchange involving trickery.
Dishonest trade practices also appear to be the meaning of porneia in 1 Thessalonians 4:3-6a. It could be translated as follows:
For this is the will of God, your sanctification. That you abstain from dishonest trade practices (porneia). That each of you know how to acquire his goods in sanctification and honor, not in the impulse of covetousness like the Gentiles who do not know God. That no one overreach and defraud his brother in any matter.
Fraudulent trade also appears to be the meaning of porneia in 1 Corinthians 5:1. It could be translated as follows:
It is actually reported that there is fraudulent trade (porneia) among you, and such a fraudulent trade (porneia) as is not even named among the Gentilesā€”that a man possesses his fatherā€™s wife.
Apparently, someone had obtained his fatherā€™s wife, probably the stepmother, by trickery. If this means that the stepmother is now the stepson's slave or even his wife, I cannot say.
The word porneia appears also to be used when someone is tricked or bought into idol worship. A primary means to achieve this was food. One can imagen that participants in idol worship ceremonies would obtain sacrificed food during or after the ceremony. Thus one would exchange idol worship for food. This appears to be the meaning of porneia in Acts 15:20 and Revelation 2:14,20. From 1 Corinthians 10:25-29 we know that food sacrificed to idols was a common good, it was even sold on the markets. So it stands to reason that at least some of that food was also obtainable during idol worship or as a reward for it. It was free food, except you had to pay with idol worship for it, so to speak.
From 1 Corinthians 10:20-21 we can infer that also wine was used to incentive idol worship, just like food.
Another means to incentive idol worship appears to have been sex. This appears to be the meaning of porneia in 1 Corinthians 6:13-7:2. It is plausible that sex was part of worship rites at temples for the fertility goddess. It was probably also part at some religious festivals. Wikipedia says cultic prostitution was big in ancient Corinth. So in that case, the trade exchange would be idol worship and some money in exchange for sex.
1 Corinthians 5:9-10 could be translated as follows:
I wrote to you in my letter not to associate with [pornoi (those doing porneia) ]()ā€” not at all meaning the pornoi of this world, be it the greedy, or swindlers, or idolaters, since then you would need to go out of the world.
From this text we can infer some possible meanings of porneia: greed, swindle and idolatry. It shows that Paul was well aware of the different types of porneia.
The bottom line of all this porneia talk is that food, wine and sex are not the negative part of porneia. Idolatry is the negative part. And for non-idolatry porneia it is the greed and swindle. So in no way does porneia mean fornication or sexual immorality. It does not paint sex and sexual pleasure as bad.
There are other words that have been twisted besides porneia. Let us look at the words malakos and arsenokoitai in 1 Corinthians 6:9. These words appear in a cluster of words that comes after the word pornoi (those doing porneia). Since the context is porneia, the meaning of the word malakos can be easily determined using a dictionary. The fitting meaning in this context is those that give in, or yield or are remiss. So this would be those who would give in to the reward for idolatry like food and sex and worship idols in order to get the reward.
The word arsenokoitai is more difficult to determine because it first appears in the New Testament and is not mentioned in the previous ancient Greek literature that has survived. The word could be translated literally as those who bed men. Given that the context is porneia, it likely means women, who have sex with men in order to get from them what they want. They seem to deceive them in order to get goods or in order to get them to worship idols. So these two words describe both parties who participate in a trade exchange involving trickery, that is porneia. Both parties could as well be called pornos (a male doing porneia) or porne (a female doing porneia).
Most bible translations wrongly translate these words as homosexuals, where malakos are the bottoms and arsenokoitai are the tops. There are additional words whose meaning have been twisted to condemn sex and sexual pleasure. Among them are lust, uncleanliness, flesh, worldliness and unholiness.
The Church Fathers use the afore mentioned words in a wrong way or expanded them or changed their meaning entirely. They viciously condemned sexual pleasure and sex that is not for procreation and homosexual sex in their writings. They call sex sin. They even call it satanic. Who in their right mind would call consensual sex satanic? But it is them who are satanic. They are exactly what this word means. They are accusers. They are like the pharisees.
Their sex-is-sin religion is both inhumane and non-human. In portraying sexual pleasure as evil and not meant to be, they are denying a basic human thing that most humans do and are meant to do. And by claiming this was Jesus' teaching, they make Jesus look non-human, too. They indirectly, unconsciously deny that Jesus is a human. Which of course is, what antichrists do (1 John 4:3, 2 John 1:7).
Antichrist means Opposite-Christ. Someone who is and does the opposite of Christ. This is a role the church fathers play very well. They accuse and condemn others. They condemn others for being a human. They condemn basic human needs and joys. Very unlike Jesus.

2024.06.09 21:25 Clean_Elevator_2247 'Norwegion wood' is the first and last murakami book I'll ever read

If the title wasn't enough, I hated the book so much. I always though of Murakami to be a decent-ish author because of the popularity he has amassed but only recently actually read his work. The first book I picked out was Norwegion Wood and I got into it without any idea about the story and only chose it coz i love the beatles. Worst Book I've ever read. I refuse to believe Murakami has ever talked to a woman coz what in the actual hell was going on his mind when he wrote these characters.
Except for Watanabe, the narrator, all of the other 'important' characters are women and all of them are so annoying. At one point I was waiting for Naoko to die, Murakami tried so hard to bring her character depth but he forgot a tiny detail, he forgot to give her any real personality or human characteristics. He spent more time describing her "curves" than her as a person. Any sort of explanation from Naoko's side was cut by Watanabe's inner dialog because even Murakami doesnt know what kind of a person he wanted her to be.
When Murakami realised his book isn't sexual enough he made Midori's character, the textual defination of a cool girl pick me. Somehow she was the most bearable character and there was more to her than Naoko, but the 'more' only existed to please Murakami's male readers.
But obviously talking incessently about sex out of nowhere just isn't sexual and interesting enough for Murakami. So what does he do, write an entire scene of 31 yr old woman getting sexually gratified by a 13 year old girl. I have never read anything as distasteful as this. Maybe Murakami was trying out a Nabakov-Lolita style of writing but failed miserably. Reiko's past story made me hate her character so much, her giving advice was so ironically disgusting, put that woman in jail.
I'm not even gonna talk about how much I hate Watanabe, he's sociopathic at best. He has no thoughts, no opinions, no desire and no morality. He does things for the sake of doing and its VERY angering.
Needless to say I'm never reading another Murakami book ever again, the music references were honesty needless and made no difference to the plot he was just dropping song names for funsies and show off his music taste or somein. Easily the most overrated book/ author ever, the ending came out of nowhere and made no sense. Someone please explain to me why this man is so popular and celebrated?

2024.06.09 21:21 caleb_dre Writing a code search tool

Writing a code search tool
Scenario: you need to add a parameter to the code that sends email so new data shows up in the emails, BUT you donā€™t remember exactly where that function is.
You could do a full text search for email:
https://preview.redd.it/ztwtv69ujl5d1.png?width=722&format=png&auto=webp&s=c848ff8f649e62268fb375373ce35baf3f8202c5
Not helpful.
Itā€™d be great if you could literally search ā€œcode that sends emailā€ and get results of exactly that.
Solution: translate code into natural language. We can convert the translation into embeddings to enable natural language search across a codebase.
First, weā€™ll need the code. Letā€™s write a function to search our project directory and load all the code into memory:
type FileInfo { content: string path: string filename: string } function findTsFiles(directory: string, exclude_dirs: string[]): void { const fileList: FileInfo[] = [] function traverseDirectory(currentDir: string) { const files = fs.readdirSync(currentDir) files.forEach((file) => { const filePath = path.join(currentDir, file) const stats = fs.statSync(filePath) if (stats.isDirectory()) { if (!exclude_dirs.includes(file)) { traverseDirectory(filePath) } } else if (stats.isFile() && (file.endsWith('.ts') file.endsWith('.tsx'))) { const fileInfo: FileInfo = { content: fs.readFileSync(filePath, 'utf-8'), path: currentDir, filename: file } fileList.push(fileInfo) } }) } traverseDirectory(directory) // save to a json file so we don't have to do this on every run const jsonContent = JSON.stringify(fileList, null, 2) fs.writeFileSync('files.json', jsonContent) return fileList }
I have a nextjs project, so iā€™m looking just for .ts and .tsx files.
Weā€™ll want to break the files up into functions so that when we perform the search, our query results will be specific enough to match the query. Since weā€™re working with Javascript files, we can use babelā€™s parser to extract the functions:
export function extractFunctions(fileContents: string): ExtractFunctionResponse[] { const functions: ExtractFunctionResponse[] = []; try { const ast = parser.parse(fileContents, { sourceType: 'module', plugins: ['typescript', 'jsx'], allowImportExportEverywhere: true, allowAwaitOutsideFunction: true, allowReturnOutsideFunction: true, allowSuperOutsideMethod: true, allowUndeclaredExports: true, errorRecovery: true, }); traverse(ast, { FunctionDeclaration(path) { const node = path.node; functions.push({ function: fileContents.slice(node.start, node.end), functionName: , }); }, VariableDeclarator(path) { const node = path.node; if (node.init && types.isArrowFunctionExpression(node.init)) { functions.push({ function: fileContents.slice(node.start, node.end), functionName: , }); } }, ExportNamedDeclaration(path) { const node = path.node; if (node.declaration) { if (types.isVariableDeclaration(node.declaration)) { node.declaration.declarations.forEach((declarator) => { if ( declarator.init && types.isArrowFunctionExpression(declarator.init) ) { functions.push({ function: fileContents.slice(declarator.start, declarator.end), functionName: , }); } }); } else if (types.isFunctionDeclaration(node.declaration)) { functions.push({ function: fileContents.slice( node.declaration.start, node.declaration.end ), functionName: , }); } } else if (node.specifiers && node.specifiers.length > 0) { node.specifiers.forEach((specifier) => { if (types.isExportSpecifier(specifier)) { const exportedName = ; const binding = path.scope.getBinding(exportedName); if (binding && binding.path.isVariableDeclarator()) { const declaratorNode = binding.path.node; if ( declaratorNode.init && types.isArrowFunctionExpression(declaratorNode.init) ) { functions.push({ function: fileContents.slice( declaratorNode.start, declaratorNode.end ), functionName: exportedName, }); } } } }); } }, }); } catch (error) { console.error('Error parsing file:', error); } // remove duplicates with the same function name const uniqueFunctions = functions.filter((func, index, self) => index === self.findIndex((f) => f.functionName === func.functionName) ); return uniqueFunctions; }node.id.namenode.id.namedeclarator.id.namenode.declaration.id.namespecifier.exported.name
There are many ways to contain chunks of code in Javascript, but this code catches the general style in my particular codebase. If you use classes or other structures, use an LLM to update it to be able to parse your own code styles.
Since we want to use queries like code that sends email , we'll need to convert each of these functions to natural language. We can do that using an LLM to generate descriptions for each function. This is probably the most important part that'll determine how good the search results will be.
const getFunctionDescription = async (file: FileInfo, functionName: string): Promise => { const prompt = `given the following file ${file.path}/${file.filename}: \`\`\`typescript ${file.content} \`\`\` Provide a concise description for the function \`${functionName}\`. The description should briefly explain the purpose of and the context around the function and any notable aspects or behavior. Aim for a description that is around 2-3 sentences long. Respond ONLY with the description.` // wrap in a try/catch in case the request fails try { const response = await ollama.chat({ model: 'phi3:medium', messages: [{ role: 'user', content: prompt }] }) return response.message.content } catch (e) { console.error(e) return null } }
I opted to include the whole file and instructed the LLM to write a description for the named function to provide a little more context about the function. Thereā€™s lots of tweaking (i.e. prompt engineering) you can do here, and again, the quality of the description is probably the most important part of this process, so make sure your prompt/model combination yields really good results.
Iā€™m using ollama to provide a local server that hosts open source models (and ollama-js for easy access to it), but feel free to use your favorite model. Right now, I think the Claude 3 Opus model would do the best with use-case and prompt combination.
Letā€™s use the functions so far to collect our data:
// new type for functions in the files type FunctionInfo { function: string functionName: string description: string } // update `FileInfo` to have function information type FileInfo { content: string path: string filename: string functions: FunctionInfo[] } // get the files const files = findTsFiles('src') const filesPromise = files.map(async (file) => { // extract the functions const funcs = extractFunctions(file.content) // generate description for each function const withDescriptionsPromises = funcs.map(async (func) => ({ ...func, description: await getFunctionDescription(file, func.functionName) })) // unwrap promises from async `.map` const withDescriptions = Promise.all(withDescriptionsPromises) // return file data with new functions data return { ...file, functions: withDescriptions } }) // unwrap the promises with `Promise.all` const filesWithFunctionDescriptions = await Promise.all(filesPromise)
Letā€™s write the function weā€™ll use to turn the descriptions into create embeddings:
export const createEmbedding = async (text: string) => { const resp = await ollama.embeddings({ model: 'mxbai-embed-large', prompt: text }) return resp.embedding }
Iā€™m using ollama to access the [mxbai-embed-large](https://ollama.com/library/mxbai-embed-large) embedding model. I'm not super familiar with how to choose the best embeddings models, but itā€™s the best one ollama has to offer and It worked well enough for my use-case. Feel free to use a different one.
Letā€™s use the new function:
// add `embedding` field to `FunctionInfo` type FunctionInfo { function: string functionName: string description: string embedding: number[] } const withEmbeddings = await Promise.all(filesWithFunctionDescriptions.map(async file => ({ ...file, functions: await Promise.all(file.functions.map(func => ({ ...func, embedding: createEmbedding(func.description) }))) })))
Now weā€™re ready to do the code search! Let's define a function to calculate the similarity between a query and the embedded descriptions. We'll use cosine similarity to do the search:
export function cosineSimilarity(embedding1: number[], embedding2: number[]): number { const dotProduct = math.dot(embedding1, embedding2) const magnitude1 = math.norm(embedding1) const magnitude2 = math.norm(embedding2) return dotProduct / (magnitude1 * magnitude2) }
Weā€™re using mathjs to do the vector calculations.
Letā€™s create a function to perform a search query:
type QueryResult = { score: number, func: FunctionInfo } export async function runQuery( query: string, files: FileInfo[] ): Promise { // convert input query to embedding const queryEmbedding = await createEmbedding(query); const similarityScores: QueryResult[] = []; for (const file of files) { for (const func of file.functions) { // calclulate similarity score const similarity = cosineSimilarity(queryEmbedding, func.embedding); similarityScores.push({ score: similarity, func }) } } // sort results by score const sorted = similarityScores.sort((a, b) => b.score - a.score); // return the top 10 return similarityScores.slice(0, 10) }
Boom!šŸ’„ We can use runQuery to run natural language queries against our codebase:
const q = "code that sends email" const results = await runQuery(q, withEmbeddings)
Now, when youā€™re searching for some code, you can whip out the runQuery function for a better-than-full-text search. The procedure was surprisingly straightforward too!
ā€¦but, how do you know the the results are good? What about completeness; what if it didn't catch all the relevant results? It could be the case that the actual best match isn't in the top 10 results. You could definitely manually take a look at the results and spot check different queries with a codebase you're familiar with, but is there a better way to measure that the results are accurate and complete?
The next article will discuss a method to measure the quality of our search system.
Catch you on the next one!

Hey there, names Levi. I'm a male, Age 22. I'm currently attending university right now and I would love to find a fun roleplay partner to pass the time. There's really only a few things I'm looking for. 1. Responds with at least a paragraph(4-6 lines+) 2. Pushes the story along (new scenes, drama) 3. Will play side characters When it comes to actual plot, I'm open to just about anything and I'm not too picky. I do have some fandoms I'm interested in but I would prefer to play OC's if we did fandoms. Message me for my list of fandoms if you're interested. I have some basic outlines for plots or story concepts as well, I would prefer for there to be romance in all of these as well if that works 1. Slice of Life/Modern: Group of friends go on a trip together to see their friends get married. Romantic tension between our characters and maybe the others 2. Fantasy world that we build together (arranged marriage/two knights/adventures) 3. Shonen inspired world (power systems, we get stronger as the story progresses. Jjk/aot/naruto) 4. Mystery (two detectives solve a mystery involving a serial kille a high school drama with a cast of characters trying to get through school and also discover the mystery of certain students disappearing) 5. Fandoms (Harry Potter, Marvel, DC, JJK, Star Wars, Percy Jackson, Cyberpunk)
These are just some rough ideas, I'd love to expand on these or just hear some of your ideas so please feel free to message me :) have a nice day

Want to see the best games before this era? Check out these 2 lists which were compiled by Reddit users' nominations and votes over 3 entire years:

The 50 Best Video Games of the Atari Era:

https://www.reddit.com/retrogaming/comments/o4drau/best_video_games_of_the_atari_era_poll_final/

The 100 Best Video Games of the NES/Master System Era:

https://www.reddit.com/retrogaming/comments/140z3gj/best_video_games_of_the_nesmaster_system_era_poll/

What You Can Do:

  1. Vote in the poll to determine the 51st best SNES/Genesis/TG-16 Era game!
  2. Then AFTER VOTING IN THE POLL: In the comments section, Upvote your favourite SNES/Genesis/TG-16 Era games to be nominated and added to next week's poll. NOTE: NOT ONE OF THE SIX GAMES IN THIS WEEK'S POLL!

What You Can Nominate:

Exceptions:

In general, the original year published takes precedence. No games that played betteare more iconic/are more remembered in an earlier or later era.
All variations of a game will be under one entry (e.g. only one entry for "Street Fighter II").
No collections of previously released games (i.e. no "Super Mario All-Stars").
"Sonic 3 & Knuckles" will be one combined entry.
"Tetris" made its biggest impact with 35 million copies sold for the Game Boy, so it is now eligible for this poll.
Arcade games that received NES Era home console ports like the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" arcade game, are now eligible.
"Altered Beast" was a Genesis pack-in game, so is now eligible.
Instances like this can be debated. I think it's best to allow all games from a console to be designated to one era, and for games to appear in one era poll only.

Other Nominated Games From Last Round:

Last round 31 people voted in the poll, and 0 new games were nominated in the comments section. Any of these (or any other eligible games) can be nominated again this round in the comment section to be added to next week's poll. Make your voice heard! It just takes a couple of upvotes to get your game nominated on next week's list.

The Idea:

Comparing, say, Pong and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, is not useful. It's like arguing which is better: the Ford Model T or the Space Shuttle? But comparing games of their era is interesting and fun! Usually, best game polls are limited to a single system. This poll is unique because it includes all platforms from the era together. How will the best Arcade, Computer and Sega Genesis games compete with the best that Nintendo had to offer? It will be interesting!

Why Only Arcade and Computer Games from 1989-1994?

The 4th Generation of home consoles launched in the West with the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive in 1989, kicking off the 16-bit Era. The PlayStation and Sega Saturn launched in the West in 1995 which will begin the era for the next series of polls after this concludes.

The Criteria:

I'll leave it up to the individual to decide. Innovation, quality, influence, iconic status, how much fun it was then, how it holds up today, are all valid. Whatever games you love, whatever games you want to see named as the greatest of the era.

What Happens Next:

After the poll closes in a week, the winner of the poll will be named the 51st best video game of the SNES/Genesis/TG-16 Era. The new most upvoted of games nominated in the comment section will be added to the 5 ā€œlosersā€, and be the 6 games in the poll for Week 52, which will name the 52nd best SNES/Genesis/TG-16 Era game, and so on. I'd like to continue this to get a Top 100. At that point I would like to continue from the SNES/Genesis/TG-16 Era to the PS1/N64/Saturn Era, for a new set of polls.
This will be a poll I hope to hold every week for a long time! Have fun everyone!

2024.06.09 21:12 Tox1cShark7 A Thought Without a Name.

Here is the first chapter of a religion text I am compiling. This religion has no name. At the beginning is the chapter number and the verse number, so chapter 1 and Verse 4 will be 1:4.
I - Humanity And Beyond 1:1 It was generations upon generations ago, as the stars were young and the song of the universe were mere notes lacking melody, that our blue planet was created. Through the darkness of the void, our home was forged in light and chaos, and life did not exits upon it for many more millennia to follow. The creation of our planet, Earth, did not immediately result in the sudden population boom of humanity. Humans have been around for a mere fleeting moment in the grand scale, and even less in the scale of Detaros. She, Detaros, was the one to manifest her dreams into a reality from her slumbering existence. She is not awake nor asleep. The passage of time was endless at first, what seemed like an eternity would be spent upon an abandoned rock, forgotten by all but one. Oceans of magma crashed and burned away the land, as mountains that spewed flame and debris cascaded over the horizon in all directions. 1:2 From the heavens above, the first of many gifts - water, rained got thr first time. Over millennia, many storms would blanket the earth, filling the deepest of chasms with the cooling water. Even then said water would bubble and boil away from the heat of sub aquatic volcanoes, but from the chemical sludges and soups, what would be the precursor for all would become. 1:3 A single organism, one barley understandably small in size - a bacterium known to us as a mere single cellular organism, one probably only having a life span of the minutes, seconds or hours. Yet it held enough information to replicate itself and to feed and to produce waste. It replicated. It replicated again and again. However, our star, still rejoicing in the bounty of Fallen Gods, produced too much radioactive material for organisms to live on the surface of the land or near the light that pierced the depths of the oceans. 1:4 Over thousands of years a barrier was formed that reflected this radiation, and eventually the earth became cleanly divided between the 3 realms - Land, Water and Air. Over time, life on Earth branched out from the singular group of organisms. It was us, Humans, who learnt this. We believe ourselves masters of creation and conquest, but no, we are not. Humanity may be upon our home, Earth, and maybe we will be for a decade, a century, a millennia from now. 1:5 However, our time in ā€œpossessionā€ of the universe is ultimately temporary. Empires of old would burn out and fizzle into dust and smoke, and new groups and armies would form from the upturned rubble. Humanity will one day die out, be it today or in a billion lifetimes from now. Our time toying with the instruments of existence is temporary. 1:6 Regardless, it is a mercy for those to partake in their dull lives, for a life of chaos and despair is much worse fate than boredom. The uninteresting lives of man will never be remembered, but they will never be forgotten for they live on through our books, and through our minds. It was us, and followers of us who have been rewarded through not health or wealth, but knowledge. 1:7 Enlightenment is not the reason to follow a god, for trying to be devoted when one seeks rewards is a transgression. Such issues can be overcome, but it is not our right to make the wicked better. It is our duty. Ownership of our lives is a fundamental human aspect, and such aspects may not be ignored. 1:8 An old man and his donkey were trapped one day in a deep muddy hole they had fallen in. The duo pleaded passers by for aid, but were met with only people throwing dirt and mud into the decline. The foolish donkey ignored such mud, crying for help as it was buried alive, whereas the man used these materials to build steps out of the ground. To be blind to the opportunities given to one is to set oneself up for failure. By the will of humanity and of our pantheon, we are destined to forge a path that will expand beyond humanity, as one day, perhaps a new species shall rise where we once did, and perhaps they will learn of our history and of our fates. 1:9 We have a history, a history any may learn about. There were no prophets, none in possession of a direct connection to the pantheon. However, our prayers have been answered by the gods. The gods, each a embodiment of an aspect, were divided between their moralities. Each god always wandered the cosmos, creating and manipulating space and matter to their will, even to a point where they consumed The Perogantos who were the direct ancestors of the gods themselves. 1:10 Upon the dawn of creation, bewildering power was unleashed upon all that was and was not, each a blob of raw energy shaping and morphing itself at a glacial speed. The Perogantos they were called. Each a barley living soup of molecules and empty space. Each had a domain. Their names, lost to all but their descendants, contained a word of unknown power. A word is not a good way to describe it, for a word would imply it was able to be comprehended by mortal minds. It was an idea attached to the being so intrinsically it couldnā€™t be separated. Eventually, these entities spawned their own children - the very gods themselves. 1:11 The Kreatonia, architects, built and altered the worlds as they saw fit, working in tandem to create order, or working against each other to sow chaos and discord. The Solki were those slumbering. Not awake nor asleep. The pseudo-conscious clandestine collective cared little for the matters of many, although as the dormant beings periodically became active, great changes would occur. The Destruvari were not only corrupt but worthy of contempt. Destroyers and harbingers of decay and degradation is all they were. They sought only to undo the ā€œdamageā€ the Kretonia has produced. Each building the children of Detaros was a blemish upon the earth, with each human simply being akin to a fly or a gnat. 1:12 Each of the Destruvari had their own ways to bring around the end of empires. Evocae froze over much of the landscape of the world numerous times, each millions of years ago before humanity could flourish and innovate. 1:13 Each deep freeze lasted millions of years until Pychos reverted her devastation upon the planet with great waves of heat and flame. The last of these states in which the planet remained in a frozen world for well over ten million years, Pychos had enough for once and for all. In doing as he had done time and time again, Pychos entombed himself within the core of the very Earth he saved, weak and fragile. Periodically, even to this day, gouts of flame and smoke erupt from the ground as the building energy tries so desperately to escape as the slumbering cacophony of heat and turmoil tries desperately to claw free from the prison of his own making. As for Egola, she was banished from Earth, doomed to wander a void as cold as she was. 1:14 Her power dwindled as a radiant species of beings clambered forth - Humans. The will of humans took centuries to make long lasting effects upon the gods, with our rapid industrial development causing damage upon the planet. Each god had their own reaction. 1:15 YvtĆ„, the god of blossoms and nature, recoiled in disgust at the despicable actions of man. NÅ«vokato found it frustrating that the beings he deemed lesser were performing his work for him. The Kreatonia were mostly indifferent or annoyed by this. The gods all collectively agreed not to punish humanity for our actions, but instead let the consequences of waste and destruction of what they made take its toll on us. 1:16 Regardless, despite all agreeing in their courts of marble and gold, not all gods were willing to accept. 1:17 Salagos, described by the gods as a twisted jester and inventor of cruel and malignant ā€œjokesā€, deceived Tevos, a wrathful spirit, into killing a fellow spirit, one who bestowed fledgling species with the most basic of knowledge such as that of using tools or the creation of fire. The spirits name was Esh, made from the will to invent and conspire. The one with a vendetta with no reason grabbed his sword. In a grassy field where Esh was laying, observing the sunrise, Tevos decapitated the ethereal maiden, her blood spilling upon the pasture doomed humanity to a stagnant age, in which crude society overwhelmed mankind, leading to war after war after war. 1:18 However, the barbaric Salagos undid their actions by reviving Esh and bestowing upon her a great burden ā€” the burden of knowing that her precious children of man had scarcely grown, governed by lunatic kings and queens and the laws of insanity. For their crimes, Salagos was forbidden from interfering with the affairs of gods or mortals, banished into a state reminiscent of The Slumbering, lacking the ability to ever wake. 1:19 The First Humans were not free from sin, for no being was truly ever perfect within that manner. The first humans lived their lives as ordinarily as one would expect. Wake up, eat, drink, sleep. Even today, we are no different at our core than those who tread the ground years, decades and centuries ago. 1:20 These people forged their own ideas of a god, or even multiple gods. The rise of the sun, a ritual as old as the earth, was so fascinating to them that they made their own version of pantheons. Self proclaimed prophets walked the soil, no different and us now. Those who believed to understand the workings of reality yet failed to use their ā€œknowledgeā€ to benefit them. 1:21 Some men did benefit the world. Great scientists and mathematicians of olde invented things from numbers to fire to art and philosophy. It was the spark of emotion and creativity that set humanity apart from the rest, destined to conquer and command as well as crumble and collapse. Of course it was some who learned that the gods had existed in one form throughout human history, from the ancient Pantheons of old to more modern beliefs of a god, or in this case it was gods. 1:22 It was Nietzsche who said ā€œHe who has a why to live can bear almost any how.ā€ Such quotes are true, for a person with determination and conviction can overturn the most drastic of circumstances and the most mundane inconvenience. 1:23 By the will of The Pantheon, we are one. Humanity is one group that must stand together united against the unknown lest there is nobody left to stand against disorder and anarchy. Against the forces of chaos, we must emerge victors, for the people who have truly won have reached enlightenment such the beating heart of flesh and the soul of the very essence of their mind. 1:24 No person, no matter who they may be, or who they believe they are, regardless of whether they are a slave to violence and cruelty or the most zealous and fanatic of priests, nobody is immune to sin. Sins are undeniably evil, as torturous to both the sinful and those around them. 1:25 Pride is not the celebration of something. Nor is it the promotion of something. It is a construct of arrogance and believing oneself to be superior to those over even the most minute differences. 1:26 Excess is not living comfortably or seeking things to prevent unnecessary suffering or stress, but is living wastefully and opulently and by taking from others. The waste made by one individual could have been the material used to produce the steps that two, five, ten or even one hundred or even one thousand and more people could use to climb out of destitution. By our definition, Excess prevents the sinful from learning or being reminded of the condition of others, but also prevents those others from living better lives. 1:27 Sloth is not the will to relax, take time off or simply ignore their problems. It is the ignorance that prevents people from improving, developing and evolving. By being subject to Sloth, one can not strive for greater things, but instead seek nothing but the quickest path to instant benefits rather than a long journey to excellence. 1:28 Wrath is not anger. Wrath is hate and rage. The unprovoked and unpredictable nature of the wrathful makes it difficult to understand them. They may not always use their fists to attack but instead use their words to spew hateful rhetoric and insults at their opponents. They may be angry for a variety of reasons, but wrath prevents those finding inner peace and strength among the chaos, and thus, unable to find either themselves or a better path to take, veering off the road into the darkness. 1:29 Ignorance is not the absence of knowledge or the absence of expertise, for it is instead the failure to grasp oneā€™s responsibilities, ignoring their wrongdoings and shortcomings and ignoring the opportunity to grow and help others. If a king is given an instruction by all twenty of his wise advisors and promptly discards said guidance, he has sinned for he has rejected the possibility to save people. However, if someone discards instructed that would harm others if implemented, regardless of if this was known or not, the ignorant would not have sinned.

2024.06.09 21:10 ApologeticJedi Way too early 2025 Top 20

This is mostly a joke. They do this in football so I thought I'd just hash out a listing. Sorry if this annoys anyone. Iā€™m just having fun. Iā€™ll try to list the teams, and give some key losses (Iā€™ll try to name 3), and why I put them there as best as I can. Don't take it too seriously I didn't bother to try to track if any of the players I mentioned were in the transfer portal and I missed it, or if they had scored recently in big transfers.
Obviously, with the transfer portal being so massive this year and so many teams losing COVID seniors this is nearly impossible to guess. I tried not to be too swayed by what was happening in the portal (too much that I couldnā€™t track it all anyway), but it did influence me to leave Washington off and I put Oklahoma State higher than I might have without the recent news. I refrained from dinging Alabama too much until I know for certain what is happening with Cahalan.

1. Texas
Key loses ā€“ Mia Scott [3b], Bella Dayton [of], Estelle Czech [p]
Why ā€“ returns almost everyone, including enough hitters and pitchers to not give them even a second thought about who will be a unanimous preseason #1 (unless Iā€™m being a bonehead and missing someone obvious ā€“ which is always possible).

2. Florida
Key loses ā€“ Skylar Wallace [ss], Katie Kistler [of], Baylee Goddard [of]
Why ā€“ While Wallace is a big loss, they return so much hitting and pitching they seem poised to be one of the top teams out of the gate next year. They need Brown or Miller to step up and be bigger for Rothrock.

3. Stanford
Key loses ā€“ Aly Kaneshiro [c], Caelan Koch [of], Regan Kause [p]
Why ā€“ Unless Canady leaves, Iā€™m going to give massive credence to a generational pitcher coming back. They have enough hitters with Kern and Jones, and Gall around her to survive those key loses. They need a second pitcher to take innings off NiJaree though.

4. Oklahoma State
Key loses ā€“ Lexi Kilfoyl [p], Caroline Wang [c], Jilyen Poullard [of]
Why ā€“ They rode the back of Kilfoyl so that wonā€™t be easy to replace, but they have a very young team and all the positions really need to dominate a depleted Big 12 next year.

5. UCLA
Key loses -- Maya Brady [ss], Sharlize Palacois [c], Jadelyn Allchin [of]
Why ā€“ They have pitchers Tinsley and Terry coming back that have been through the fire. They lose a lot of offense in Brady and Palacois, but Grant and Woolery return and they have a coaching staff and culture that always seems to get them back.

6. Duke
Key loses ā€“ Jala Wright [p], Claire Davidson [of], Kelly Torres [c]
Why ā€“ They have enough talent to weather the big loses. Curd will have to become the pitcher she shows potential to be. Players like Vega, Jennings, and Gold are a nice group to build around.

7. Florida State
Key loses ā€“ Kaley Mudge [of], Kalei Harding [of], Devyn Flaherty [2b],
Why ā€“ Despite losing three icons of the sport, and having a pitcher retire, they return a competitive young team with Beachum, Edenfield, and Torres. Pitching is the issue. If that can be fixed, theyā€™ll be one of the top teams next year.

8. Tennessee
Key loses ā€“ Kiki Milloy [of], Payton Gottshall [p], Rylie West [of]
Why ā€“ Once again, who is keeping a great pitcher will help Tennessee get back. Pickens is a great arm that I believe makes this a top 10 team. They underperformed a bit in postseason and lost a lot of key seniors, but they arenā€™t completely depleted of offense as Gibson, Pannell, and Nugent will return.

9. Arizona
Key loses ā€“ Carlie Scupin [1b], Miranda Stoddard [p], Allie Skaggs [2b]
Why ā€“ Was just a massively young team last year. The loss of Stoddard does represent a lot of innings, but they return Silva in the circle as the ace, and have a lot of returning offense to go with her.

10. Virginia Tech
Key loses ā€“ Emma Ritter [of], Addy Green [of], Cameron Fagan [2b]
Why ā€“ Despite the losses, the offensive juggernaut is not going away anytime soon. McMillan, Chatfield, and Greene are all going to be terrorizing pitchers all next year. And Emma Lemley got a lot stronger as she progressed in her second season.

11. Texas A&M
Key loses ā€“ Trinity Cannon [1b], Julia Cottrill [c], Jazmine Hill [of]
Why ā€“ While a lot of offense leaves the door, they return their ace pitcher Kennedy, and they have just enough hitting with Harper, Wookley, and Powell that I think they will be a good top-10 choice.

12. California
Key loses ā€“ Haylei Archer [p], Tatum Anzaldo [3b]
Why ā€“ Iā€™m predicting a big jump for California. They were very young last year and so return many of their stars. The innings of Archer will have to be replaced, and they will want to see Roelling make a stride from ace to star in the circle, but they have all the offense that made them dangerous last year returning.

13. Missouri
Key loses ā€“ Laurin Krings [p], Jenna Laird [ss], Alex Honnold [of]
Why ā€“ Lots of loss here, but they return just enough to expect that they can get back if they want. Harrison will need to step up in the circle. The offense returns a lot of bodies, but they lost some of their main bats. Enough experience was built up that Lenger, Chester, and Daly will have to fill the gaps.
14. Alabama
Key loses ā€“ Kayla Beaver [p], Jaala Torrence [p], Jenna Johnson [of]
Why ā€“ I didnā€™t mention Kenleigh Cahalan in the list as I suppose she could always take her name out of the portal, but it was in my mind. They really have a lot to replace, but they have some incoming freshmen and seem to be getting transfers that should keep the ship afloat a bit.

15. Oklahoma
Key loses ā€“ Tiare Jennings [ss], Jayda Coleman[of], Kelly Maxwell [p]
Why ā€“ They are losing too many to really mention in both hitting and in pitching. Icons will have to be replaced somehow. However, they have something to build around in Parker, Pickering, and Sanders. Kirsten Deal will have to continue her progression but should be a good pitcher to lean on even if they didnā€™t also have a good freshman pitcher coming in. Again, another team whose culture and coaching are too good to bet against.

16. Arkansas
Key loses ā€“ Hannah Gammill [3b], Rylin Hedgecock [dp], Morgan Leinstock [p]
Why ā€“ Despite losing their ace, Herron looked like someone who could step into that role next season. Meanwhile, Bri Ellis returns along with Reagan Johnson and a good cast of hitters around that should keep them as a dangerous lineup. Theyā€™ve gotten a few additions in the transfer portal already that should help.

17. Baylor
Key loses ā€“ Emily Hott [of], Aliyah Binford [p/3b], Sydney Collazos [c]
Why ā€“ I didnā€™t include Crandall leaving as maybe sheā€™ll change her mind. Orme is returning (knock on wood) and that would give them one of the best pitchers around, but obviously, they have to make up 300 innings somewhere besides just her. They have plenty of offense to help with Govan returning they just need to retain the pieces around her to get them through.

18. LSU
Key loses ā€“ Taylor Pleasants [ss], Ali Newland [of], Danieca Coffey [3b]
Why ā€“ LSU drops because they lost as much if not more than Oklahoma did, but they stay up this far because they return pitching. They will hold up Berzon to be back, pitching 8000 innings again, and that will get them a lot further than a team that lost this much probably should.

19. Nebraska
Key loses ā€“ Billie Andrews [ss], Brooke Andrews [of], Sydney Gray [3b]
Why ā€“ This again goes back to my idea that you donā€™t pick against generational pitching, and if Jody Bahl is back, then Nebraska will continue to be a tough out anywhere. I think they at least get back to the playoffs, though they need a lot of help to get there. Olensky needs to be developed into a complimentary arm to give Bahl some innings of rest.

20. Georgia
Key loses ā€“ Sara Mosley [3b], Jaiden Fields [dp], Jayda Kearney [of]
Why -- Another team that was heavily guided by seniors. They return Backes as their ace on the mound though. Whether this can compensate for the amount of offensive firepower leaving remains to be seen. I believe Dallis Goodnight will return, as will Lyndi Rae Davis, but a lot depends on how they transform their offense.

2024.06.09 21:10 SolomonSinclair Character Concept: Kureya, Twilight Mirage

Character Concept: Kureya, Twilight Mirage
My last (but not latest) original character for the moment, I had a lot of fun creating this one. Unlike my others, she has a little bit of lore and a signature weapon (that ended up being a more general purpose version of Neuvillette's, albeit on accident).
This is also the character who, for anyone that saw it, is why my opinion of Yanxue dropped somewhat, as I just enjoyed how this one came out so much.
Anyway, with that said, here she is.
https://preview.redd.it/jappdxn8wk5d1.png?width=600&format=png&auto=webp&s=ba146b7a86af4d6ce8f6244dd52d801cd0f34633
Kureya, real name Claire, is a Fontaine native who was born in the Fortress of Meropide and spent most of her childhood and teenage years there. Her main past time as a kid was reading smuggled in light novels from Yae Publishing House, with her favorite being the Princess Mina of the Fallen Nation series, which gave her a... Strange personality.
(I'm saying she's a hardcore weeb; or the Teyvat equivalent, anyway. If Fischl can be chuuni, why not a weeb?)
She really fell in love with the concept of samurai and ninja and would often play at being either one in her free time. Eventually, she got out of Meropide and, for old times' sake, bought a Yae Publishing House light novel; this one happened to be Shogun Almighty: Reborn as Raiden With Unlimited Power... Which happened to be a very telling title, as it happened to contain her vision within its pages.
And she immediately used it to try and conjure both a flaming sword and a fiery kunai. Which she succeeded at, somehow.
Thanks to that, she changed her name to Kureya, a Japanese pronunciation of Claire, but she writes it with the kanji ęš®å±‹; the former is read Kure and means "sundown", while the latter is read Ya and is regularly used as a suffix for someone who does something (i.e., Baker is Panya, Blacksmith is Kajiya, etc.).
Yes, that also means that, in that very weeby way of just smashing cool kanji together, her name could translate to Sundowner. Yes, *that* Sundowner.
I'm actually rather proud of how stupidly cheesy, yet thematic, I managed to get her name. With that said, here's the rest of her kit.
Name Kureya (Claire)
Title Twilight Mirage
Rarity 5*
Weapon Catalyst
Vision Pyro
Model Type Tall Female
Constellation Imaginarius
Region Fontaine
Affiliation Fortress of Meropide
Special Dish "Holy Water" ("Pure Water" variant)
Namecard Kureya: Light in Darkness
Base Stats (Lv90)
Base HP Base ATK Base DEF Special Stat (Pyro DMG Bonus)
11,962 351 600 28.8%
Ascension and Talent Materials
World Boss Material Emperor's Resolution
Local Specialty Spring of the First Dewdrop
General Enemy Material Firm Arrowhead/Sharp Arrowhead/Weathered Arrowhead
Talent Books Justice
Domain Boss Material Denial and Judgement
Normal Attack - Yagyu Thrown Blade Technique (Adapted)
  • Normal Attack - Performs up to 4 consecutive attacks that take the form of fiery kunai, dealing Pyro DMG.
  • Charged Attack - Consumes Stamina to conjure a blazing greatbow as long as she is tall to entire the Twilight Hawkeye state and fire an explosive arrow, dealing AoE Pyro DMG. In this state, Kureya can move and change facing while charging a more powerful shot. If Kureya's HP is above 50%, she will consume her HP until she is at 25% of her Max HP, converting it into additional DMG.
  • Plunging Attack - Plunges from mid-air, dealing AoE Pyro DMG upon contact with the ground.
Attribute Scaling Level 10
1-Hit DMG (%) 68.11
2-Hit DMG (%) 63.94
3-Hit DMG (%) 73.87
4-Hit DMG (%) 99.63
Charged Attack DMG (%) 313.34
Charged Attack Stamina Cost 50
HP Consumption 3% Max HP / 0.5s
DMG Bonus (% of HP Consumed) 48
Plunge DMG (%) 112.34
Low/High Plunge DMG (%) 224.62 / 300.37
Obviously, the star of the show here is her Charged Attack, which functions almost identically to Neuvillette's. The main difference is that it's not a continuous attack; instead, it's more akin to the Lv2 Charged Shot from some Bow users, where you have to hold it for several seconds before releasing it. This is also a large part of why she gets such a massive DMG Bonus from her consumed HP: if you get interrupted or miss, you just wasted all that time.
Elemental Skill - Return to Honor
Condenses the power of flame into a sleek and slender curved blade, before rapidly drawing it in a wide slice, dealing Pyro DMG to surrounding opponents and entering Blade Mode.
In this mode, Kureya's Normal and Charged Attacks, as well as Elemental Skill, change as follows:
Normal Attack - Yagyu Swordsmanship (Adapted)
Performs up to 4 consecutive sword strikes, dealing Pyro DMG.
Charged Attack - Empowered Iai (Adapted)
Assumes a sheathed stance and begins charging a powerful draw cut, before unleashing an all-encompassing 360 degree circular slash, dealing AoE Pyro DMG.
In this state, Kureya can move and change facing while she projects a blazing barrier of whirling blades to shield her as she prepares. Max DMG absorbed scales off Kureya's Max HP and absorbs Pyro DMG 250% more effectively. If Kureya is attacked while this barrier persists, she will finish charging instantly.
Additionally, if her HP is above 50%, she will consume her HP until she is at 25% of her Max HP, converting it into additional DMG.
Elemental Skill - Come and Get It
Kureya opens her arms wide, blazing sword dangling negligently from one hand as she taunts opponents, attracting them to attack her.
Additionally, Kureya gains the Zen of the Mind's Eye effect, which will restore a percentage of her Max HP and will decrease the charge time for Charged Attack - Empowered Iai (Adapted) by 1.5s.
Holding the Skill button will return Kureya to Catalyst Mode and enter the Twilight Hawkeye state.
Arkhe - Pneuma
At certain intervals, after using the Empowered Iai (Adapted), a Spiritbreath Thorn will descend and pierce opponents, dealing Pneuma-aligned Pyro DMG.
Gameplay Notes
  • Return to Honor is not deactivated if Kureya leaves the field. However, its duration will continue to tick down while Kureya is off-field.
  • When this Skill hits at least one opponent, it generates 3 Elemental Particles. When Normal Attacks hit opponents, it generates 0.6 Particles and when Charged Attacks hit opponents, it generates 1.75 Particles.
  • The cooldown starts immediately after the first input.
  • Kureya's Interruption Resistance is increased while in Blade Mode.
  • Plunging Attacks in Blade Mode are identical to Kureya's Standard Plunging Attacks.
  • Empowered Iai (Adapted) takes roughly 2 seconds to fully charge.
Artifacts and Weapon Interactions
  • Normal Attack effects apply to Catalyst Mode and Blade Mode.
  • Charged Attack effects apply to Catalyst Mode and Charged Attack - Empowered Iai (Adapted).
  • Elemental Skill effects apply to the initial Blade Mode change and to Elemental Skill - Come and Get It.
Attribute Scaling Level 10 Level 13
Skill DMG (%) 129.6 153
1-Hit DMG (%) 122.79 148.8
2-Hit DMG (%) 121.99 147.94
3-Hit DMG (%) 151.48 179.51
4-Hit DMG (%) 188.37 219
Charged Attack DMG (%) 326.91 396.12
Charged Attack Stamina Cost 25 25
HP Consumption 3% / 0.5s 3% / 0.5s
DMG Bonus (% of HP Consumed) 82 106
"Come and Get It" HP Restored 100 100
Spiritbreath Thorn DMG (%) 25.92 30.6
Spiritbreath Thorn Interval 9s 9s
Duration 18s 18s
CD 26s 26s
As should be obvious, this is heavily inspired by Childe's Foul Legacy: Raging Tide, but with a few key differences: - It has a fixed duration and fixed CD, so it's easier to play with. - It doesn't deactivate upon swapping characters. - It doesn't disable Plunging Attacks. - It trades the quadratic scaling and regular DMG of Riptide for a single large swipe.
Elemental Burst - Bloodshed's End
Performs different attacks based on what mode Kureya is in.
Catalyst Mode - Bloodflame Familiar
Conjures and hurls a giant flaming shurikan that explodes on impact, dealing AoE Pyro DMG and creating a ring of Molten Shuriken that orbit your active character.
If Kureya's HP is above 50% when this ability is cast, she will consume her HP until she is at 25% of her Max HP and will grant the Molten Shuriken a DMG Bonus equal to a percentage of the total HP consumed.
Molten Shuriken
  • Increases the character's interruption to resistance.
  • Your active character's Normal Attacks will trigger a coordinated attack once every second, dealing Pyro DMG.
  • When Molten Shuriken hit opponents, Kureya will restore HP for all nearby party members, and the amount restored is based on Kureya's ATK.
Blade Mode - One Mind
Assuming a sheathed stance, Kureya briefly charges before unleashing a nigh-invisible flurry of slashes, striking everything around her and dealing AoE Pyro DMG.
Refunds a portion of its Energy Cost after use.
Gameplay Notes
  • The Elemental Burst, Blade Mode - One Mind, has a 9m radius (for reference, this is the same radius as Kazuha's Burst).
Attribute Scaling Level 10 Level 13
Skill DMG (Catalyst) (%) 190.96 229.05
Molten Shuriken DMG (%) 77.69 95.33
DMG Bonus (% of HP Consumed) 18 24
HP Regeneration Per Hit (% of ATK+) 69 + 900 90 + 1,200
Molten Shuriken Duration 15s 15s
Skill DMG (Blade (%) 1026.41 1211.76
Energy Return (Blade Mode) 20 20
CD 15s 15s
Energy Cost 60 60
Similar to her Skill, her Burst is also heavily inspired by Childe's, which only made sense, and one mode gets an Energy Return. However, that's where the similarities stop. Her Catalyst Mode burst, while doing okay damage, provides an off-field coordinated attack with solid damage of its own and a DMG Boost if Kureya's above 50% HP and healing on hit. Her Blade Mode burst, on the other hand, is just a big fat nuke that would make for some obscene numbers if you managed to vape or melt it.
1st Ascension Passive - If You Want to Make it Easy On Me
After using Come and Get It, the CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG of Charged Attack - Empowered Iai (Adapted) are increased by 20% and 60%, respectively, for 6s.
  • Come and Get It more or less negates Kureya's reliance on a grouper like Kazuha to hit opponents with her Empowered Iai, so you obviously want to use it first. This makes it so playing her as intended is very beneficial.
4th Ascension Passive - The Spark That Starts a Wildfire
So long as a Molten Shuriken is in play, when your active character triggers a Pyro-related Elemental Reaction, the opponent shall be stricken with a Bloodflame Rebuke that deals Pyro DMG equal to 80% of Kureya's ATK.
  • This gives her Catalyst Mode burst extra DMG to further encourage its use, as people'd probably see that 1k% modifier on her Blade Mode burst and use it almost exclusively (same with Childe's melee burst having both a significantly higher multiplier and the secondary DMG from Riptide Blast).
Utility Passive - Flambed to Perfection
When Kureya cooks an ATK-boosting dish perfectly, she has a 12% chance to receive double the product.
  • Nothing much to say, but I find it weird that Xiangling is still the only character with this passive.
1st Constellation - Woe Be Upon These Blind Fools
While charging Charged Attack - Empowered Iai (Adapted) after using Come and Get It, surrounding opponents and objects will be pulled towards Kureya.
  • So remember how I talked about Come and Get It negates her reliance on groupers? Yeah, this turns it into an "I ain't got all day" button.
2nd Constellation - You Can(Not) Prevent Wildfires
When Kureya's Normal Attacks hit opponents, her Pyro DMG Bonus is increased by 10% for 4s. This effect can be triggered once every 0.1s. Max 5 stacks.
  • Shamelessly stolen from Cyno, but given that you could easily play Kureya almost as a hypercarry, it fits.
3rd Constellation - The Proper Way to Wield a Blade
Return to Honor Talent Level +3
4th Constellation - Cry Havoc
Elemental Reactions triggered by Molten Shuriken will ignore 60% of the opponent's DEF.
  • Aside from giving her off-field DMG a further boost to encourage using both versions, this would also make her go very nicely as the trigger in a vape or melt team if you wanted to use an on-field Hydro or Cryo character.
5th Constellation - Resentment's End
Bloodshed's End Talent Level +3
6th Constellation - Dragon Flash
After Blade Mode - One Mind is used, Kureya initiates a follow-up slash against the nearest opponent, dealing Pyro DMG equal to 200% of its DMG.
  • You know how some 5*s have an absolutely cracked C6 as a way to entice you to whale for them? Yeah.
And now for her signature weapon:
Stats at Lv90 R1
  • Name: Gospel From Afar
  • Base ATK; 608
  • 2nd Stat: CRIT DMG
  • 2nd Stat: 66.2%
  • Effect -
  • Betwixt Night and Day: ATK SPD of Normal and Charged Attacks is increased by 16%. When current HP increases or decreases, Charged Attack DMG will be increased by 20% for 6s. Max 4 stacks. This effect can be triggered once every 0.5s. When the wielder has 4 stacks, Elemental Burst DMG will be increased by 32%.
(Appearance-wise, it's a very heavily embellished and accessorized copy of Shogun Almighty.)
And that's it. That's Kureya. I enjoyed the hell out of creating her, despite not liking HP consumption mechanics most of the time, but I really wanted to do several things: a ninja-themed character whose charged attack had an aiming mode, a samurai-themed character that wielded a flaming sword, like Kazuha's splash art, and a character with a different take on coordinated Pyro attacks than Yanxue.
Copying Childe's mechanics let me do all three at the same time.
As a result, I almost certainly went waaaay overboard when creating her, but I'm more than satisfied with how she turned out, so I'm okay with it (not like tweaking numbers is that hard).

2024.06.09 21:09 Kerzizi PSA: I'm seeing a lot of confusion about Creations/the Creation Kit. If you're new or just need a refresher, here's how it all works.

Bethesda announced today that Creations and the Creation Kit are both launching tonight.
The two share a similar name, but confusingly, the results from them are quite different to the end user. This is most noticeable on PC, but we'll get to that in a moment.

Creations

Bethesda "Creations" are unofficial, semi-official, or official mods for Bethesda games that are made available in a mod shop usually placed on the main menu of the game in question. You can browse, install, and manage these Creations from within the game itself. You typically need a Bethesda account to access this.
Creations are somewhat controversial because they employ the largely-panned practice of paid mods. Creations can be free, but their creators can charge money for them if they choose, and of course the semi-official and official mods from Bethesda typically cost money. There is a pretty deep story to that whole mess that I'm not going to get into in this post, but just understand that Creations may cost money.

The Creation Kit

The Creation Kit (or 'CK' as it's typically called in the community) is a piece of free software that modders can download and use to create mods for the game. If you're a PC player, you may know already that Starfield has a decent amount of mods available, all of which were made before this CK has come out. This is because the CK is not required to make some mods, but there are many types of mods that do require it. Many types of mods that include new areas, items, models, assets, or a deeper linking into the game logic require the CK to implement. This is a surface-level explanation and it's not exhaustive, but just know that the CK is responsible for some of the most prolific mods in Bethesda games throughout history.

The important distinction

Mods created with the Creation Kit do not have to be listed as Creations. CK mods can be listed anywhere the modder likes. Typically, for PC, these mods are listed on Nexus, a free and verified mod hosting platform for hundreds of different games. Bethesda games' modding scene on PC is typically most prominent on this site. Steam's Workshop can also be used to host mods, and offers a slightly more hands-off approach to mod installation, though Nexus offers a downloadable program called Vortex that handles mod installation in a very clean way as well. There are then other third party websites that can also host mods - most of these are community verified (meaning they're known to be legitimate modding community platforms), but always express caution and ask the community if you are unsure.

PC Modding vs. Console Modding

If you're on PC, you have all options available for modding. You can use Bethesda mod platform in game to browse Creations, you can use Nexus to download mods and Vortex to install them, you can use Steam Workshop, or you can even browse one of the many third-party websites hosting more.. 'niche' mods for Bethesda games.
If you are on console, however, your options are much more limited. In most cases, the only mods console players have access to are those listed as Creations. This is because console versions of Bethesda games don't have access to the third-party websites like Nexus, so you can't implement mods from a third-party platform.
So, TL;DR - Creations are mods available in the game menu, often cost money, and often curated, sponsored by, or created directly by Bethesda. The Creation Kit is a tool for modders to make in-depth mods in Bethesda games. Creation Kit mods do not have to be listed as Creations, and a vast majority of them are not.

2024.06.09 21:01 Bonjonsie The Jonsie Burrows: Help Wanted 2 Part 8.99

Is there such a thing as finding too much treasure?
Previous part: 8.9.

The new room could only be described as unfinished, you thought to yourself. You were passing under an arch of a building on your way through here and saw that hanging from it were supposed to be two drooping ropes with flags(or whatever this is supposed to be), but instead, you saw a purple digital polygonal imitation of it.
Other purple digital polygonal objects took the appearance of other real things in the area, but they lacked the what?-factor of the digital floating purple particles or what was going on with the ceiling of the room as it was a just purple grid. (Welcome to the AR world Jeremy. Glitchtrap's twisted wonderland.)
But this was all a distraction from the newly introduced threat in the form of Moon, as now you sought targets that prevent his deadly approach to your ride, all while you heard his chuckles.
In the next room, the situation was the same, except you saw different varieties of purple digital things pouring into the area. (Nice! it's the Princess Quest 3 purple pattern from Vanny's room and the purple arching energy from the wrecking ball in Roxy Raceway! I didn't notice them on the first watchthrough of the game, so it's nice to see and know what that connection is. Though now that I'm thinking about it, it's so weird that Princess Quest 4 shows no connection to anything, unlike its prequel.
Is it because the FNAF6's Pizzeria is so digitally distorted by Glitchtrap in the network that it doesn't show the tell-tale signs of the AR world or is it because the Pizzeria's sub-network isn't as connected to the greater network. Hmm... Something to look into later.)
As you continued to move through the area you saw more and more purple things just crawling throughout as you kept alert for specific targets to stall Moon. (Where in the world is this place? There's no such location we visit in Ruin that has this much wrecking ball energy flowing through it.)
But as you gazed about, you immediately spotted a blue blast-shaped button ahead and above on an arch. It's just like what the "message" depicted! Quickly you pointed your hand cannon at it and shot a couple times until you hit it. You were definitely on the right track now.
Passing under it, you were getting close to the double doors that lead to the next area, though curiously you saw purple digital particles that unlike before, were dripping from the ceiling like the floor above you was flooded.
(Okay, the only place that had to drip purple particles like this was the Upper East Server. That in addition to the purple grid on the ceiling above us, tells me we're directly under it, or really near to it. That sorta makes sense, because Foxy Log Ride is in/next to Glamrock Salon which is right next to the Upper East Server. It's so cool to be able to piece that together!)
But surprisingly, after going through those double doors, you were right back on the track heading towards a familiar area you had been to the first time you did this. Did the alternate paths weave in and out of the standard path? That must be it, you thought as you got all of the targets and headed to the next area where the train robbery scene takes place.
Immediately, after the lights flickered back on from the transitional darkness but before you enter the train robbery. You spotted another Helpy cutout and quickly shot it before you passed it.
Passed the train robbery scene is where you expected the path to diverge to the glitched route as you had taken to calling them, and lo and behold, as soon as you had gone through the train and through the double door at the end of it, you found yourself in a new area.
You heard Captain Foxy's voice once again as you entered the new route. "We be not responsible for any maimings that might happen on this here path." If you haven't already had a trip through an alternate path before, you're sure you'll be questioning how you would be maimed during the ride.
Your ride strolled ahead and entered chambers where you now had to shoot the targets to closed doors and block the Moon, rather than to earn points. However, as you did this, you heard people's laughter replacing the general ambiance of the ride. (I wonder if there's something with this.)
In these chambers, you shot another blue blast-shape button that you saw above near the ceiling, while you defended yourself from Moon's relentless drive to get to you on the ride.
But you eventually persevered through it all and made it back to the normal track again where you collected yourself by shooting at targets without worrying about the threat of Moon. But too soon to you, you found another Helpy cutout, which you shot of course, and was once again heading towards the dangerous alternate path. (Oh, I forgot to mention that these specific Helpy cutouts can be found in the original Pirate Ride in Help Wanted. And in Monty Golf and Superstar Daycare in Ruin. I wonder if Vanny had moved them there after the Help Wanted 2?)
This time noted by Captain Foxt with a simple "Overboard!"
The alternate path this time had no laughing ambiance and had you getting up close and personal with a dancing Moon unless you shot all the targets to make him go away from the platforms near where your ride gets the closest to them by turning on the lights. (Hmm... could this be a point against 1983 Moon? Why would 83 Moon be affected by light still? Also, is the laughing important? A hint to something?)
Another blue blast-shaped button was found and shot while on this path of constant danger, but with skill, awareness, and luck, you managed to get through it all. (Yeah I know there are gravestones in this specific area, but I'm not sure if it's referencing the missing 5 plus Charlie gravestone or if it's just props.)
Now you were back on the normal track, and as went through the next two areas you knew that the ride was coming to an end as you came upon the familiar comforting scene of Foxy and Chica along with other animals surrounding a cake and celebrating as you heard Captain Foxy say, "And the real treasure was friendship along."
(Both the scene and Captain Foxy's exact words are a call back to the original Pirate Ride in the first Help Wanted)
But as you stared at the scene, you finally realized that the cake itself had a blue blast-shaped button on it and proceeded to shoot it. To think that you were looking at it and didn't even realize it the first time you came through here. But now it's all over and you can finally see your improved score and get back to the restaurant.
Yet, as the lights flickered off and you moved forward in the darkness, you noticed something was wrong. The western-theme ambiance that was always there on the normal path came to an abrupt halt and left only silence and the everpresent noise of shifting water in its departure.
Suddenly the three spotlights lit up the path ahead of you, revealing to you a treasure chest on a miniscule island under the third one. As your ride got close to it, you noticed a couple of broken wooden boards on the side of the island, next to a crumple Pirate Foxy Flag.
As your ride came to a stop right next to the wooden box, it unexpectedly opened. (waaaaaaaait a minute! ITS THE CORN MAZE BOX!!! It's redesigned, but it's definitely it! Coincidently or is it Intentional? It has to be, they could have used an actual treasure chest for this, so it has to be intentional. Why? Memory Dolls... memories... William's Mask! It's the key to Glitchtrap!)
Gently, softly, the box's lid came open and a green costumed hand came out from the darkness within. The hand smoothly snaked out of the box until it was outstretched to you, revealing to you the treasure that it held in its palm. It was a doll, an unusual one at that, as it looked to be made by crocheting some wool into a human figure plushie. But stranger than that was the fact that it was wearing a Foxy mask.
You didn't know why, but you reached out to the hand, and hesitantly, grabbed the doll and watched as it poofed into purple smoke. The hand, with no doll in its grasp, sleeked backed into the box as the lid closed itself and your surroundings plunged into darkness.
Next thing you knew, the sound of celebrating cries filled your ears as you were back into the GAME WON! void. Stunned by the sudden change in your surroundings, you automatically hit the button for the crane machine to receive your prize with no thought. Your prize this time was a poster for Ballora titled DANCE!
Yet even though it was something new and interesting, your mind refused to be distracted from the bizarre event that just happened seconds ago. But no matter how much you tried to wrap your head around it, no matter how many times you tried to make sense of it, all you could blankly think is, what?
You felt strange, but you knew you had to keep moving forward. So you pressed the RETURN TO HUB button and returned to darkness to go back to the restaurant. Still, the sight of the Foxy doll never once left your mind.
Remember Jeremy? (the achievement for collecting the memory doll)

The achievement has twisted this Help Wanted phrase into a question. And finally, an answer was given to another. Everything is starting to make sense, but joy am I finding too much stuff! I reached my limit a couple Parts ago and now I'm beyond that!
But thankfully. Thankfully! we reached the end of Foxy Log Ride and now I can talk about Vanny, Vanessa, Jeremy, the Memory dolls, and even Glitchtrap now, because why not. What other discoveries while mentally exhausted from this stuff!
Don't worry, I know not to burn myself and take breaks. But still, I eventually have to come back to finish this, and that in itself creates mental fatigue. So let's finish this by starting with the long overdue conclusion of Double-V!
The last time we talked about this, I ended it by saying we'll go through the contradictions of Vanny's and Vanessa's character hinted in Ruin and Help Wanted 2. However, I want to go back a bit to when we were first introduced to Vanny as a character in Help Wanted the Curse of Dreabear.
It's only a few lines of dialogue, so it won't be long. Besides, Vanny apparently being a different person than Vanessa, means we can't exactly apply one's characteristics to the other. With Vanny only having so few lines and cameos in Security Breach, she is basically, completely unknown to us.
So what dialogue we know comes from her, needs to be under even heavy scrutiny for any hints of the personality and characteristics of our new villain.
Before we even start with her dialogue, something interesting has already happened in the preceding events. By finding and resembling the secret tapes and doing exactly what Tape Girl says in the final tape we attain the glitchy Glitchtrap plushie
"There is a way to kill it. It wants to escape. To escape through someone. Someone plugged into this game. That's you now. You have to let it begin the process of leaving through you, then use the disconnect switch that I've embedded by the main stage. Let it approach you. Let it begin to merge with you. Play the music and flip the switch*.* That will cause a hard restart of the game and flush the memory, effectively killing it, I hope. I don't know when it will come for you." -Tape 16
Now, we already know that this does not work at all in the slightest, as this method instead has Glitchtrap trapping and locking you up as he is let out of the game through the player's body that he now has control of. Digital Consciousness Transfer.
Next with the installment of the DLC, we acquire William Afton's old mask from the Corn Maze minigame after finding all four keys and the secret glitchy fifth key and head to the cellar where we discover the mask on a table on a candle.
With both of the items together worn and held respectively, we can hear the secret dialogue and the voice of Vanny for the very first time.
ā€œYes, I hear you. I know... No. There's no miscommunication... I understand... Yes, I have it. I made it myself. I think you would like it... No, no one suspects anything... Don't worry, I'll be ready, and I won't let you down. It will be fun.ā€
This means that the event that Vanny met Glitchtrap was, in fact, the ending of Help Wanted where you follow through on Tape Girl's deceptive instructions on digital transferring with Glitchtrap!
But right here, is where a slight problem occurs in the narrative of Vanny's story in the games. Vanny still has control of her body, she's still capable of defying Glitchtrap. Something that's been made clear to me through both Ruin and Help Wanted 2, is that Glitchtrap doesn't control Vanny at all.
Does he influence her? Yes. We see that in the way her costume is directly referencing him and the way she moves and dances.
Does he control her, however, that is where things get shaky. Because at this point in time, there hasn't been a single instance where Vanny is seen as someone being controlled.
Remember, we can't use anything that has to do with Vanessa to show that Vanny is being manipulated or controlled. So where in the new era games can you find Glitchtrap controlling Vanny?
You can't.
Does this mean she's doing this out of her own will? That is something that might've been more nuanced than what we all had perceived. Because I did it again, I've found more stuff! This time it's something important that everyone has missed in Help Wanted and it might well be the true origins of Vanny.
You see the base game of Help Wanted actually has a third ending to it. Or at least something that should be an ending. Besides, just completing all the minigames to get stuffed inside Freddy and following Tape Girl's 16th tape instruction, there's something else you can do that involves Glitchtrap.
That is let Glitchtrap complete the process of leaving through you.
I'm sure some of you are confused by what I'm talking about, but it's the sequence where you press the button and flip the switch, leading to the ending where Glitchtrap locks you up. I'm saying instead of doing that, do nothing and watch what happens next.
A blaring noise could be heard asGlitchtrap stretched his hand out to you. He spoke distortedly and unintelligible, while green cones of energy flowed out from him and toward you. In seconds, Glitchtrap's eyes turned red, the blaring noise increased its volume, and the energy cones became purple while your view became clouded in a purple haze. Soon purple spots began to appear on Glitchtrap's body, as the noise became too loud to your ears, and the energy cones became red as your vision was almost nothing but purple. Soon even Glitchtrap started to disappear into the purple as his body became pixelated by the purple, leaving only his general outline until even that became purple.
Finally, after your purple vision grew flickering bright and the blaring noise ceased, your vision slowly returned to you, accompanied by music and the sound of static from a monitor. (That's the same music that plays if you press the button on the side of the monitor and the static sound you're hearing is specifically from FNAF's 2 game over static.)
At first, your purple view distorted itself with pixels before the purple started to fade slightly as you could see the hub world. But your perspective was wrong, you were staring from the opposite side of where you were sitting, while the place you once stood at was empty.
Your vision, still overlayed with purple while distorted and pixelated, looked down as you brought your hands up. Your hands which were always outlined and seethrough, now looked solid and were covered by gloves of a familiar costume that you were just staring at a couple seconds ago.
As the purple started to overwhelm your distorted and pixelated vision again as you stared at yourā€” Glitchtrap's hands, your mind was finally able to recognize the words that were being spoken to you by him.
"Can you hear me?"
If you want to see this for yourself, then I have two Youtubers that I managed to find, that did this. 99TH VR and 8-bitRyan.
After this, you're taken to the GAME OVER void. But what's unique about this void is that the monitor here never displays any quotes, no matter how many times you do this.
This ending that should've been, along with what "Tape Girl" said before finally reveal what exactly Vanny is.
"ā€”Let it approach you. Let it begin to merge with you. ā€”." -Tape 16
A merger, a fusion of two different beings, that's what Vanny is! This is why I was having so much trouble trying to figure out how Vanny came to be from the two "endings" we get from Help Wanted. The answer is neither of the two. She mostly came from the failed Tape Girl instructions scenario where Glitchtrap completes his merger with someone to get out of the game.
It also explains why we see gigantic Vanny in Help Wanted 2's consequences ending and adds even more reason why an altered EnemyBasic appears on her wall in the AR world! Vanny herself is not infected as we first believed, but rather a fused entity between Glitchtrap and someone else.
With this origin, she would still be able to traverse and interact with things connected to the network if she's plunged into it.
And considering what she's wearing in Security Breach and that the Security Mask and the occipital transponder are a technology that exists now in the current FNAF lore. She has every way she needs to stay connected to the Pizzaplex's network. But let's get back to her dialogue and dissect it.
"Yes, I hear you. I know... No. There's no miscommunication... I understand... Yes, I have it. I made it myself. I think you would like it... No, no one suspects anything... Don't worry, I'll be ready, and I won't let you down. It will be fun.ā€
We can immediately pinpoint a characteristic of Vanny with the entirety of this dialogue, willing and eager to please. I would also put young in that description, but I don't if it's because she's actually young here or that the voice actress has a bit of a youth tone to their voice.
Anyway, the "Yes, I have it. I made it myself. I think you would like it" part of her dialogue was already analyzed by me before, but let me elaborate on something I've been thinking about.
William's Mask has to be in the current Fazbear Entertainment's possession because the pizzaplex hasn't been built yet or is in the middle of being constructed by the time of Help Wanted's development or release since Cassie herself refers to it as an "old headset game", so the Security Mask isn't around just yet.
What I'm thinking here is that Vanny had come across it sometime to use as a reference for her costume. And make no mistake, Vanny's mask is making a callback to it as it's only a slight redesign and recolor to make it her own. Even Cassie makes notes of Vanny's mask being similar to the Security Mask by how she mistakes them for being the same.
But that doesn't sound right. Vanny wasn't working with Fazbear Entertainment when she met Glitchtrap, just under them through the second development team. Plus, most of the game was developed under a different team until it was in its beta version while Vanny's team had just come in to finish it to release it.
We have already seen what an object created solely by Glitchtrap looks like in Help Wanted in the form of his plushies, so we already know that he didn't recreate the mask in the game.
So maybe I'm thinking about this the wrong way. Both the mask and Grimm Foxy show up in Princess Quest, and we have already established how both important relate to William and Glitchtrap. And both are what are needed to destroy Glitchtrap.
Where did we first see that Mask? Not in the Help Wanted base game but in the Halloween DLC. That means the game was still being worked on even after its release, so Vanny would've had time to model this mask into the game. But why? I think these game-over quotes that show up only in Dreadbear are a clue.
The report glitches quote, easily fits with what Vanny is talking about in with the "No, no one suspects anything." The "Where am I" part is intriguing, but I don't think I can pin that to Vanny. Hmm... I wonder if this is where our Golden Princess comes to be. It's something to look into later.
It's the "Purging system" part that is what I want to focus on here. This provides the needed explanation for things being the way they are now. Glitchtrap, the one that's not merged into Vanny, might've started running rampant during the DLC development, causing either Fazbear Entertainment or Vanny's development team to focus entirely on shutting him down.
The purging of the system might've been their solution for him. This might've worked too if Vanny wasn't already created by the time of the purging. And since Vanny is working under Glitchtrap here, she would've been in the perfect position to take Glitchtrap and everything he contains out of Help Wanted and into a developing game called Princess Quest(Working Title). Though, Vanny might've rushed the job under such circumstances, taking part of The Curse of Dreadbear's code along with Glitchtraps into the new game.
But that's all for now, I'll talk about that more when we get Princess Quest 4.
"I'll be ready, and I won't let you down. It will be fun.ā€ This right here, more than anything, tells us that Vanny is not so much reluctant but more following in the Glitchtrap's order than we all first believed. But we shouldn't be so surprised about it.
Vanny's previous alias, "Reluctant Follwer", didn't come from any of the games, books, or even Scott's website but instead came from voices.com, a website Scott uses to find voice actors. The name is used as a guide for the actor and a descriptor for how the voice should be toned and acted.
The name is an oversimplification of a character for how they're going to sound in the one game they appear in, not all. So the name "Reluctant Follwer" would've only applied to Vanny in this game.
And as we see from Security Breach, Vanny is anything but reluctant to follow Glitchtrap's order. Yet after that game and as of Ruin and HW2, that name might been more appropriate now than it was back then as there appears to be a rift now between the two. But more on that at a later.
One last thing. With this origin in place, we now have another explanation for why we only hear Vanny's side of the conversation and not Glitchtrap's. We are hearing Glitchtrap's side of that conversation, he is her. It's the reason why her voice becomes echoey in her final word, fun.
Now let's finally get into the ties between Vanessa and the villains. Though...

Shoot! I made it too big again! Continue on here Part 8.999

2024.06.09 21:01 Jus17173 Depth of Madness - Chapter 3 - (Edge of Madness book 2)

Book One: Edge of Madness - Chapter One First Chapter Previous
They called him the champion of the Talisi. A lost prince, a man touched by the Gods. They spoke his name in the same context as the Vigons. They regarded him as one would a holy object, placed there to remind all that hope is not lost. Mairek lay in a bed weaved of vine reeds. He felt hopeless, encroached on all sides by a looming dread he could not quite determine its source. There were expectations that had to be met. With hope came the assurance of victory and the Talisi wanted war. They wanted to parade him at the forefront of the Talisi Green army. Dress him in green metal and have him wield half a spear.
Yes, half a spear. His signature trade mark. It was half a spear he'd used upon the Ganidan plain, all those months ago. It was half a spear that he'd used to turn the tide against the Binorians. And here, in his room within the Palace. It is half a spear that lay beside him.
He'd tried to return to Jamou, the village he and Ishar hailed from. But the Talisi would not have it. An entire cohort came for him, his father had stood outside their home, tears of disbelief streaming down his face as he watched his son being dragged away to Central Talisi. To stand before the new King of the Talisi, the late King Gans's son, King Mogich. There, before the King, he was forced to retell the events of the Ganidan Plain. Where forty thousand Talisi men had stood against half a million Binorian Legions. Where Talisi had lost its king. The Red Priests of Meena had gathered around the silver throne of the King, intent on discrediting his every word for his theatrics upon the plain did not come as a result of his connection to their Goddess Meena. No. It was another God's blessing that had been bestowed upon him.
A blessing that ensured he was free of the bubble of time. A blessing that enabled him to foretell the future, experience the present and derive meaning from the past in a way nobody ever has or will. He was against the flow of time, not as Ishar was with his blessing of chaos, no, for him perception graced his every thought and action. And time, ever present, sought a way to purge him free of the realm. But for now it ignored him as did he it.
He rejected the giant chamber that had been offered him. The windows were dangerous, a stray arrow from the Army practicing grounds could find him in his bed as he lay asleep. He rejected servants for one might accidentally trip and wash him with scalding hot water meant for his bath. Every option afforded him came with the tinge of time and its need to be rid of him. He evaded all options before they availed themselves and here, he found himself now. In a single room, narrow with four walls all around. No windows, no servants. The only opening a door and ventilation shaft above the door. Time had no means of ending him where he lay.
A wasp entered the room from the ventilation shaft, it buzzed as it explored its new found abode. Mairek grabbed the half spear laying beside his bed. He lifted and flicked it across the dimly lit room, the only light a lantern that was dwindling in fuel. The half spear spun across the room and collided with the wall before settling on the ground. At its tip sat the impaled wasp. The sharp point had impaled it through its thorax and its threat was no more. Mairek sighed and lifted his eyes to the ceiling. What I would give, Ishar, to be back in Jamou with you. You tending sheep and me tending my broken heart, where are you Ishar? I crave chaos, an end to this tide that I swim against.
It started as a cough from a servant in the Palace's coal chamber. A chamber maid tripped and fell with a curse. A Red priest yawned and within seconds Mairek knew what was happening. The movements people indulged in, the things thought to be accidents. The gestures and words and platitudes. They were all weaves upon the tapestry of time. A knock sounded at his door. He got up and answered it. Parting the door enough to confirm the heart beats he'd expected were indeed of the five men before him.
Tall men, taller than he, bulky with swords strapped to their sides. Adorned in leather armor. The best killers in Talisi. Killers hired to kill him. They had objected of course, objected the task of ridding Talisi of the only one of them who could channel a God. But Tari, Princess of Talisi and sister to King Mogich, had offered them a price they could not refuse. She hated him, of course, hated him because he was part of her father's death. Part of the reason she no longer had a father. Sure, it was Ishar who'd led King Gans to a war facing impossible odds. But Ishar wasn't around. Nobody knew where the Kolotian and his lover, Niada, had gone to. So it was up to him to suffer the consequences.
"The King requires your presence." The one at the forefront said with a slight bow. The rest of the men rested their hands on the hilt of their blades. A clear sign that they were agitated, wary even. Mariek smiled.
"You carry swords, isn't it customary for the Green Army to prefer spears save in close combat? An ideal condition such as now?" Mariek asked.
The one who'd spoken to him chuckled. "We're used to the weight of the blade, Champion of the Talisi."
Champion of the Talisi. The title was a bane to him. He wanted to thrash against its constraints, to run away, flee from the duty it demanded of him. It was mid afternoon. The Palace wasn't as packed as it was during the early hours of the day. The King would never demand his presence at night so this was the best time for their ruse. Where would they lead him to? Where would he meet his end?
"Where is the King?" Mairek asked.
"He's at the Conicual Garden, west of the Palace bridge." Their leader answered. Mairek nodded. That would be an ideal place to die. It'll give him a chance to see the river curving through Talisi, to observe the sinking sun and to be kindred once more with all that went on around him. He felt time's gentle nudge, beckoning him into its embrace where his death will spell an end to his torment. An end to the struggle against time, a struggle he was sure he could not win. Why then shouldn't he relent? Throw in the towel and call it quits? What value marked him, that a God would pick him above the rest? No, Nielda had made a mistake. What was even the point of going all the way to the garden? Wouldn't it be fitting for his end to be quick?
"I hear the King," Mairek said. "He is speaking to the Chief Palace servant about a cartload of wine due from Remu. He is in the throne room, not the garden." The men shuffled uneasily. "You're here to kill me." He took a step back, leaving his door ajar. He went to the center of the room, knelt down and bore his neck to them. "Make it quick, a quick thrust in the neck ought to do it. But then again, you guys are the experts."
They hesitated. Each uncertain of their purpose. Mairek hated uncertainty, decisions spell the destiny time offers. To titter on the brink of a decision is to waylay time's purpose. "Be quick about it! Bastards!" That did it. They lunged towards him, swords rasping as they flew free of their scabbards. The point of the swords came to him and Mairek welcomed them, a smile played across his face. It was going to be over. He closed his eyes, waited for the sword tips to bite skin, draw blood. End his life. He waited a span of seconds and nothing seemed to happen. He opened his eyes, observed the blades inches from him, frozen in time.
"You fucking cunt." Nielda, the God of Space and Time spoke from behind him. He turned, found the God lounging on his reed bed. His skin was as dark as the midnight sky, and stars riddled it. His hair, like puffs of a cloud hovered about his head. His green eyes observed him with a haughty air Mairek had become used to.
"Nielda." He said, turning to regard the God who'd chosen him as his Champion.
"You can kill them all, all five of them as you did the wasp. Yet, here you kneel, like a weakling, welcoming their blades. You paint a sorry sight. Diva." Nielda said. Diva, the word was misused by the God, having dwelt so long in the place between sky and moon, the God had lost touch with humanity, his vigil against a darkness he was hesitant to comment on had stripped Nielda of knowledge regarding the advancement of the human race.
"I just want it to end, I know no peace, Nielda. No peace at all." Mairek said. He got up off the ground, went to the rear end of the reed bed and placed himself there. Close to the naked feet of the God. The dusk colored robe adorning Nielda shifted as he sat up to regard his champion.
"Peace? When a buck grazes in the Talisi wilderness, no predator in sight. Does he regard the moment afforded it as peaceful? Does it relish in it, hence lowering its guard to fully appreciate the ambiance that comes with a lack of danger? Peace is a fickle thing, the buck knows this. Its ears are ever alert lest the sound of a Yendw wolf's approach marks the end of its peace. Is that then, what peace is? A moment between danger, afforded by pure circumstance? If such a thing is peace then what benefit is craving something you know will have an end?" Nielda raised his hand and scratched at his scalp, the hair floating about it parted for a brief moment. The God rarely had mannerisms similar to that of mankind but as time went, Mairek noticed changes in the God's disposition. "Think of your time since leaving the Ganidan Plain, Diva, has there been any instance when your life was threatened save now? Can this then be regarded as a peaceful period, a time when time has ignored you and thus given you a period of rest? Of course time wouldn't ignore you forever, it must seek to right an anomaly and you should liken this as a Yendw wolf's paw upon a branch, young buck, and this should drive you to flee knowing that the peace afforded you has reached its end."
Mairek sat with his knees brought up and his arms circling the crest of his legs. He nodded his acquiesce. His eyes moved to the five men, frozen in time, their blades pointed at where he once knelt awaiting a quick death. The buck would not await the maw of the Yendw wolf, it will flee if possible and if not it would fight, hoping for a brief respite from death that might grant it another period of peace. Is this then what peace is? "I hear everything Nielda." Mairek started. "I see everything, even with my eyes closed. I feel everything as if my hand is forever grasping things and my tongue tastes things that I am yet to consume. Is this gift of yours a mark of peace? How will my sanity be anchored to me with all that I perceive?"
Nielda sighed. "You're a dumbass Mairek. A dumbass, if you can hear everything why don't you focus on the sound that pleases you the most? If you can see everything why not focus on an image that delights your soul? Perception is not confounded on the whole, you can focus on specific aspects of it that appease you."
"Is that what you did when you hovered above space for thousands of years? Did you focus on a specific sound while you were up there among the stars?" Mairek pushed. He knew if he kept up a barrage of questions regarding Nielda's time guarding the darkness above from an ancient evil, he might gleam something... Anything that would paint a vivid picture for him, a picture whose purpose he was yet sure of.
Nielda stared at Mairek and his eyes flashed a bright blue. The assassins started moving slowly and Mairek knew that time was regaining its flow. "No." Nielda said. "The one whose voice I wanted to hear was silent."
Time resumed its course and the assassins thrust into open air. Missing their mark. They turned, puzzled expressions about their faces to regard Mairek at the foot of the reed bed. Mairek sighed. "Your deaths won't be on my head." He said as he stood up.

The sun pierced the earth with its morning glow. Palace servants shambled about, eager to get on with their work. Guards stationed in various Palace compartments stood at alert, stifling yawns and conversing in low tones. The Palace kitchen was alight with activity, cooks chattered as dough rose and logs were fed into furnaces. Chamber maids emptied chamber pots. The King sat upon his throne and offered a silent prayer to Meena with the aid of the Red Priests, as it was custom for the King of Talisi with every new dawn. The gardeners tended the Conicual garden, pruning branches and inspecting bright colored petals. The daily routine of the Palace was under way, without a single anomaly felt or seen by all within the Palace.
It started as a scream when the maid sent to bring him his morning meal came across him leaving his tiny compartment. The maid ran away, screaming like a banshee and flinging his tray of food to the ground. Mairek flexed his shoulders and started walking towards Princess Tari's bed chamber. Where he knew she was inspecting an assortment of dresses, picking the best she would dawn for the first half of the day. With the maid's screams came the shuffling of feet, guards, cooks, gardeners, maids, Red Priests. They all flocked towards him, and when their eyes beheld him, they halted, words escaped them. Trembling gripped their limbs and all they could do was stare. They flanked him on all sides, and followed behind him at a distance. He did not turn his head to either side, he ignored them as he ignored the blood that trailed his path, marking his wake.
At another time, in another place. The five decapitated heads he held by their hair, three on his right hand and two on his left, would have sickened him. Their weight would have pulled at his soul and he would have been distressed by the action he was undertaking. But now, he felt nothing. He experienced everything and felt nothing. I am a buck, antlers riddled with the blood of a Yendw wolf, affording me an extended period of peace. And that was all he could define the moment as.
The Guards he came across took one look at him and let him pass, none too eager to test his patience. He climbed the steps leading to Princess Tari's chambers. A throng of Palace personnel behind him. The two Guards flanking either side of the Chamber's door halted him, placing heavy gauntleted hands on his chest.
"You cannot pass." One of them said, he towered over him and Mairek raised his head to observe him. He was aware of what a sight he was. Blood was sprinkled upon his face and stained his arms. The heads dripped blood on the floor and the smell of iron was rich wherever he went.
Mairek closed his eyes, felt the touch of the gauntlets upon his chest, he allowed himself to drift into the metal, to learn of its origin and how they came to be where they were now, upon him. The past is a vast sea, to swim its depths one requires a mind that can fragment, be two places at once, and in that current at the bed of time he was able to learn what he needed. He opened his eyes and turned his head to either guard. "These gauntlets, you place them on the bath house door, parting it gently to observe the Princess as she baths. A wretched thing both of you do, ogling the one you're tasked to protect. A simple reprimand wouldn't be enough, I will see both your heads on a spike at the Palace baths if you do not give me leave to do as I plan. I mean to cause no harm." He could not see their faces behind their helms, but he knew the look of shock and shame spread upon their visage. Shame, the anointed cousin of retreat, see as his gauntlets lower from my chest. See as they withdraw within, each of them eager to be rid of me within a miasma of indifference.
The Guards parted. Mairek raised a leg and knocked down the chamber door with one swift kick. The door sprung free of its hinges, tumbled and collapsed onto the ground, close to the foot of the Chamber bed. A good five feet within the Chamber. Tari stood, half naked with maids around her, her bosom rich and full, stilled as she regarded him. Then heaved as she saw what he dragged into her chamber.
Mairek walked onto the door and flung the heads onto the bed, watched as the blood seeped into the white linen cover of the duvet. Staining it a bright crimson. The heads stared in various poses, unblinking, sightless. Princess Tari gawked at them then raised her eyes to meet his.
"Their blood is on your head." Mairek said and turned around to depart. Those crowded behind him parted and in his wake eyes followed his retreating back.

I was born 69 years too late. I wish I was born in the 50s (but without all the racists / And getting married off for the highest bid)
Watching Seamus live at Pompeii as a 14 year old now makes me truly realise I was born in the wrong generation. I was not even alive when this performance was done sadly. This song truly is one of a kind - the musical genius of Gilmour and Wright combined with Roger's lyrics is incredible. Nickā€™s drumming on the live version at Pompeii is incredible. Pink Floyd from 1971-1979 has to be one of the greatest bands of all time (almost up there with ABBA from 1972-1973) Pink Floyd are incredible.
I will play Pink Floyd to my children, who shall be named Seamus, Roggie and Dave in 10-15 years, along with the solo works of Yoko Ono.

2024.06.09 20:59 Moist-Jump3276 thoughts on inside aka longest yap session ever

i watched every episode twice bc i would go back and watch the side+ eps when they leaked after the yt eps lol. i want to say if you bought side+ for inside you got fucked. not only did they post all the content from side+ to youtube for freeā€¦. its literally maybe 15min of extra content per epā€¦ā€¦ and not even anything interesting just elongated convos that you mostly already saw on yt. and there was no episode or anything yesterday i thought side+ would get exclusive unseen bits or something but nope !
the show itself i thought was actually pretty good for a knock off locked in to be fair. i do agree with everyone that it was rushed especially now knowing they filmed it two weeks ago meaning they had to crunch an edit 150+ of content. all the spoilers and mishaps make alot more sense. the challenges were pretty boring i cant lie none of them even stood out to me to even name them rn.
people hate the voting system but i think it worked perfectly. having them vote for each other causes more tension and is more natural than audience vote which would have just been a popularity contest and whoever the audience didnt like atm would get voted. i like it much better that the people who actually have a chance of getting the money decide who gets the money.
As for the contestants i think this was an AMAZING group together they genuinely saved the show. even though ppl are complaining abt basically everyone thats the whole point of reality tv.. the contestants and their personalities CARRIED. some more than others but everyone had their role in the house. ALSO the spending was the whole point was to spend money so icba to care if they spent 2Ā£ or the whole mil .
leah - never heard of her before this. she went out second so not many opinions on her. she was very sweet and it was cute that she didnt want to spend the money but u had to know she was going to go out bc she (and nife i think) were constantly bringing up the money that ppl were spending. but very cute and determined.
joe weller- i know about him through sidemen but never been into his content. i actually didnt mind joe at all. i thought he was very wholesome and fun.i wish he was there longer to show more of his personality. his only mishap was when he decided to cause a scene instead of addressing manrika head on. i knew when he was yelling in room 19 after walking out of the room full of the whole cast wo saying anything to go talk shit he was gone. and everyone was on manrikas side (except castillo) even though they didnt want to say it. you can tell by the streams and things theyve said after the fact reacting to it. and i believe castillo was right no one liked him after that and the whole fanum beach ball debacle. and i believe he he was trying to play money manager as well.
castillo brev - never heard of him before either. THE MAIN VILLAIN every good show needs a villain and he was on that since day one i knew i was gonna like him. i was lowkey rooting for him. the only reason ppl didnt like him was bc he spent money ?? like what brev ā€¦ everyone spent except nife and leah. SPAMGATE was OD and we all know he was lying about it being the spam bc before the spam even happened he said he was going to run the money up so im pretty sure he used that so he wouldnt seem like a piss baby for crashing out about the voting. (also side+ should have shown more of this) but idgaf cuz im here for entertainment and i was entertained. it was so awkward when he was fussing with the girls afterwards but everyone was doing way too much.
liv - never heard of her either. but i think she was a nice addition sort of like a spending leah bc they were both very calm not very trying to farm content type of personality which i can appreciate. she was there to spread her brand n have fun. the 40k sweets i have no clue wtf she was trying to do there at all? i guess she was trying to frame specs and then it sort of came back on castillo bc of spamgate but whatever. i think she fit in more w the girls but her and specs had some good convos too.
fanum - i watch amp/ fanum so i was hella shocked and excited when i saw him pop out . as an American who reg watches uk youtubers watching fanum try and figure out the slang is so funny. he started spamgate and almost crashed out as well. he handled it cool though i thought he was gonna be on some amp firework war type shit but unfortunately not. dysongate was lowk op nobody suspected a thing and when they found out everyone was like its you so we dont care LOL. i didnt want him to win nor did i think he would bc he has enough money nb was gonna let him have that tbh. he was top 3 in entertainment fr. i need a video w him ginge and specs ASAP! also specs n ginge in an amp video would go crazy!
ginge - i know ginge from locked in and danny aarons i dont really watch his content but after this i definitely will. him and specs are the two mvps of this season. i was genuinely mad he left for the the fa cup but at least YANITED won so it meant something. he was actually a-lot more chill than i thought he would be on inside. when he tried to call down the spamgate fights and everything i had to give props. he was was such a big instigator and nobody ever caught on to that LOL.
specs - ik of specs from the chunkz and filly podcast ep i think? i may have seen him featured in some others as well. actually the funniest guy. when i finished watching the eps and saw ppl were calling him a creep bc hes old i was like wtf?? saying he was ā€œunnecessarilyā€ touching on the ā€œyoungā€ (literally pushing THIRTY btw) girls and implying that they cant speak up for themselves when they ALL went off on ppl and addressed multiple issues in that house is crazy. and you can literally see each one of them GO TO SPECS and initiate contact n convos.also ppl mention the comment to chloe abt sex but they literally know eachother from outside of the house, i seen a clip of them on her pod when hes talking abt her flat ass like come on. ik it was bullshit bc they never brought up how him and ginge constantly touched or him and EVERYONE just the girls who literally say they love him and theyre so close every five seconds. i was upset he got eliminated at the end but the games a game .
nife - never heard of her as well. basically another money manager but she was more chill abt it after she seen that it got leah voted out. a very good mediator for the group as well. her and fanums thing i didnt really see it tbh its like she said i dont think shes fanums type as well but it was fun to watch everyone try and get them tgt. i think by the end everyone knew it was going to be her and castillo out.
chloe - ive heard of chloe but never watched any of her content. she was pretty entertaining i cant lie im pretty sure she was tipsy from the moment they but alcohol in the shop. like she ALWAYS had a glass of something. watching her get so mad during spamgate had me dead. i think it annoyed some ppl but honestly they shouldve REALLY fucked up his bed like opened the spam fr instead of all that arguing but thats just my messy ass tho ! I DIDNT expect to see her in the finale at all but watching specs then fanum go out i was like well it has to be chloe and rika bc i never thought that liv was gonna make it. i definitely thought she was going to steal from manrika at the end there though .
manrika - never heard of her. one thing about me is i always root for the villian of the show. so when i saw that everyone was hating on her for a joke that had already been discussed and squashed it was between her and castillo on the win for me. her whole thing w castillo calling her an ass lick makes sense bc she told joe shed rather he just tell her right then and there he had a problem rather than wait . thats why she asked him right there what he meant. i think she went od to KEEP on asking thats when i was like girl let it go please. other than that i really enjoyed her antics and was so glad when she won w chloe.
tldr: i liked inside even though it was rushed. challenges were lame and i liked all the contestants.
