2024.05.16 05:13 harshita29 What are the benefits of using HR management software in companies?

Introduction
Are you tired of drowning in piles of paperwork and endless spreadsheets to manage your company’s HR processes? It’s time to bid farewell to these outdated methods and say hello to the world of HR management software! With technology revolutionizing the way we work, companies are increasingly turning to automated solutions to streamline their human resources operations. Let’s dive into the myriad benefits that come with utilizing HR management software in your organization.
Enhanced Efficiency and Productivity
In today’s fast-paced business environment, time is of the essence. That’s where HR management software steps in to streamline processes and boost productivity. By automating repetitive tasks like employee onboarding, leave requests, and performance evaluations, teams can focus on more strategic activities.
With a centralized database for all HR-related information, searching for employee records or updating payroll details becomes a breeze. This not only saves time but also reduces the likelihood of errors that manual data entry may incur.
Efficiency is further enhanced through features like task tracking and reminders which ensure that deadlines are met promptly. Managers can easily monitor progress and allocate resources accordingly without the hassle of constant follow-ups.
Using HR management software translates into a more efficient workflow and increased output from employees across all levels of the organization.
Improved Data Management and Security
In today’s digital age, data is a valuable asset for companies. HR management software plays a crucial role in improving data management and security within organizations. By centralizing all employee information in one secure platform, companies can ensure that sensitive data is protected from unauthorized access or breaches.
With features like role-based access controls and encryption protocols, HR software enhances data security measures to safeguard confidential information. This not only protects the company’s reputation but also ensures compliance with stringent data protection regulations.
Moreover, the automation capabilities of HR software reduce manual errors in data entry and processing, enhancing overall accuracy and reliability of employee records. This streamlined approach to managing data minimizes the risk of inconsistencies or inaccuracies that may occur with traditional paper-based systems.
Investing in HR management software not only improves operational efficiency but also strengthens data security practices within companies.
Better Decision-Making with Analytics
In today’s fast-paced business environment, making informed decisions is crucial for the success of any company. HR management software offers a valuable tool in this regard by providing access to insightful analytics. By analyzing data on employee performance, engagement levels, and training outcomes, decision-makers can gain a deeper understanding of their workforce.
With the help of analytics tools integrated into HR software, managers can identify trends and patterns that may not be apparent through manual tracking methods. This allows for proactive decision-making based on real-time information rather than relying on gut instinct alone. From predicting future staffing needs to assessing the impact of new policies or initiatives, data-driven insights empower leaders to make strategic choices that drive positive outcomes for the organization.
Furthermore, by leveraging predictive analytics capabilities within HR software, companies can anticipate potential challenges and opportunities before they arise. This foresight enables proactive planning and risk mitigation strategies that enhance overall business resilience. Better decision-making with analytics is a key benefit of using HR management software that empowers organizations to thrive in an increasingly competitive landscape.
Enhanced Employee Experience
When it comes to creating a positive work environment, employee experience plays a crucial role. HR management software can significantly enhance the overall employee experience within a company. By streamlining processes such as leave requests, performance evaluations, and training programs, employees can focus more on their work rather than administrative tasks.
Furthermore, with features like self-service portals and mobile access, employees have greater autonomy over their information and interactions with the HR department. This leads to increased transparency and communication between employees and management.
Moreover, personalized dashboards provided by HR software allow employees to track their performance goals, view feedback from managers, and easily access relevant company policies. This level of empowerment contributes to higher job satisfaction and engagement among employees.
In addition, automated reminders for important dates like birthdays or work anniversaries demonstrate that the company values its employees’ contributions. These small gestures go a long way in fostering a sense of belonging and appreciation within the organization.
Cost Savings
One significant benefit of using HR management software in companies is the potential for cost savings. By automating various HR processes, such as payroll, benefits administration, and recruitment, organizations can streamline operations and reduce manual errors.
With efficient workflows and integrated systems, businesses can save both time and money that would otherwise be spent on labor-intensive tasks. Additionally, by centralizing data storage and access through the software, companies can avoid duplication of efforts and minimize administrative overhead costs.
Furthermore, improved compliance with regulations and standards facilitated by HR software helps mitigate legal risks that could result in costly penalties or lawsuits. By ensuring accurate record-keeping and adherence to policies, organizations can safeguard themselves against financial liabilities.
Investing in HR management software not only enhances operational efficiency but also contributes to long-term cost savings for businesses of all sizes.
Scalability and Flexibility
Scalability and flexibility are essential factors for any modern company looking to thrive in a dynamic business environment. HR management software provides the flexibility to adapt to changing needs as a company grows. Whether it’s adding new employees, departments, or locations, the software can scale seamlessly without disrupting operations.
The ability to customize features based on specific requirements allows companies to tailor the software to meet their unique needs. I think my central nervous system handled all it could take. Monday was spent full of adrenaline and at certain points I felt like I’d stroke. Yesterday I spent most of the day sleeping and could barely keep my eyes open. Today I’ve just felt so physically and mentally numb and I keep playing Mondays events over and over in my head. 2024.05.16 02:59 City_Index It’s time to reassess the US dollar outlook. May 16, 2024

It’s time to reassess the US dollar outlook. May 16, 2024
With US economic data delivering negative surprises at rates not seen over a year, with signs disinflationary forces are growing, it’s time for a rethink on the outlook for the US dollar. The era of selling rips rather than buying dips may be upon us.
By : David Scutt, Market Analyst
  • US economic data is surprising to the downside at rates not seen in over a year
  • Markets have less than two full Fed rate cuts priced in 2024, well below levels seen only a couple of months ago
  • US two-year note futures have broken a key level, indicating market concerns over rates remaining higher for longer may have passed
  • The US dollar index looks vulnerable to downside, closing below its 50-day moving average for the first time since March

Deciphering the US dollar signal though ample noise

Last week, I discussed the challenge of dealing with rampant noise in markets, making it difficult for even seasoned traders to decipher what signals should be listened to and what should be ignored. With so many opinions and so much information to digest, it can cloud your thinking. Even worse, it can reinforce underlying biases, making traders want to fight the tape rather than going with the flow. On that front, I’m as guilty as anyone at times. As such, sometimes, you need a noise eliminator.
When it comes to what I use to eliminate the noise, I nominated US two-year Treasury note futures as the perfect market instrument, combining combined fundamental and technical market views in one of the most highly liquid contracts globally to deliver a clean signal on how I should play the US dollar.

US short-end rates suggest higher for longer fears have passed

Following a session bursting at the seams with major economic data from the United States, headlined by consumer price inflation and retail sales reports for April, my noise eliminator has generated a signal that now may be the time to ditch the strong dollar narrative markets have been running with for much of the year.

Source: Refinitiv
For the first time since late November, US two-year note futures successfully broke and closed above 101*24, an important technical level it has done plenty of work either side of for several years. It also managed to slice through the 50 and 200-day moving averages, closing above both for the first time since March. The price action was in stark contrast to that earlier this month when soft non-farm payrolls and ISM services reports saw futures break through through this zone only to reverse right back through it. This time, the move stuck.
If you think back to late November, it was when the risk rally in markets really kicked off, resulting in substantial US dollar weakness. By breaking through this key level again, it suggests the latest higher-for-longer rates scare may have run its course, at least based on what traders thinking collectively.
Given the important relative interest rate differentials play in FX markets, this is important. Especially when you look at how the US dollar index fared on Wednesday following the move in US two-year note futures.

DXY hammered to multi-month lows, breaking key moving average

As my colleague Matt Simpson pointed out in his morning note, the US dollar index (DXY) suffered its largest decline of 2024, falling to the lowest level in five weeks. Not only that, the DXY sliced through its 50-day moving average like a hot knife thorough butter, closing below it for the first time in a couple of months.
https://preview.redd.it/mhc5x04dpo0d1.png?width=1835&format=png&auto=webp&s=98dcaa804d134a036f2171882d585d983777654b
The DXY was already looking unconvincing on the charts, putting in a double top before breaking the uptrend it had been sitting in since early March. With price momentum to the downside and fuel from curtailed Fed rate cut expectations at or nearing exhaustion point, the path of least resistance appears lower.

Selling dollar rips rather than buying dips, until the signal changes

https://preview.redd.it/5ebmimpfpo0d1.png?width=1913&format=png&auto=webp&s=a98890ec8d1f372c96728324b98940763d70113d
Source: Refinitiv
Even as US economic data surprises threaten to slide to more than two-year lows, according to Cit’s closely watched measure, markets still have less than two full rate cuts price for the Fed this year. There is still plenty of room for markets to add to rate cut bets, a scenario that could easily see the DXY mirror its performance in late 2023 when it tumbled from above 107 to below 101.
https://preview.redd.it/fbyozrdhpo0d1.png?width=1835&format=png&auto=webp&s=31dd8f4c2bf59f68449d51839d31159b8fa58421
As long as US two-year Treasury not futures trade above what should now be horizontal support at 101*24, my approach will be to sell dollar rips rather than buy the dips.

2024.05.16 02:43 azurecobalt Advice for a Fugitive Campaign

I'll be running a campaign where the central conflict for a group of characters will be that they're suddenly the most wanted fugitives in the state. They're wrongly accused and they'll have to evade the FBI, state and city authorities, members of the public who might recognize them, etc. They'll need to find a safe place to hole up, get supplies, try to figure out which of their contacts they can still trust to not turn them in, find safe ways to move about in order to pursue their goal of clearing their names as well as taking care of personal agendas.
Other possibly relevant info: the game is set in 2003 (though a slightly more technologically-advanced 2003) and I'm using the second "season" of Orpheus for the plotline (we already completed "season" one). I'll be using many of the recommendations from the book, but I'd like some more ideas - has anyone done this before, what worked and what didn't work, etc.? There don't seem to be a lot of RPG resources in any system for this kind of premise (at least that I've found).
Thank you!

2024.05.16 02:37 DH379 Eero pro 6e range?

Hello, I’m sorry if this is a commonly asked question but I know just enough about internet and devices to only confuse myself more.
As a customer of cable internet for over 20 years I recently switched to frontier fiber. With my cable I had my cable modem and an Asus router and was able to get consistent but terrible speeds throughout my entire home and property which is about a 900sqft home and a very small property. I got coverage everywhere except the rear most portion of my garage. Both the modem and router were centrally located.
I’m about a month into the fiber and although I get great speeds the corner of my home furthest away from my eero gets spotty to no speeds, often around 1-2mbps. I get great coverage upstairs (cape cod home so it’s small upstairs). The eero is in the rear room of my home about 20ft away from where my cable equipment was for reference.
I did try using my router, an asus rt-ac56u as an extender but that bogged my speeds down to about 20mbps throughout the entire home.
The eero says I have 26 devices connected but I don’t even own 26 devices I only own 17 all in including wifi cameras, televisions, electronic door deadbolt, etc.
Am I missing something or is the range on these types of devices just greatly different than what I’m used to and I’m going to need to add a whole home system?
Thanks for any help you guys can provide.

The Future of DRM Software
https://preview.redd.it/57aj1s8nko0d1.jpg?width=892&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=52d93177fbb2c845b88a1d970681b672d0b6b567

The Evolution of DRM Software: A Decade of Change

Digital Rights Management DRM software has undergone significant transformations over the past decade, evolving to meet the changing needs of content creators and distributors while balancing consumer rights. This evolution has been driven by advancements in technology, shifts in consumer behavior, and the ever-expanding digital content landscape. Throughout this period, the core objective of DRM software— to prevent unauthorized use and distribution of digital content — has remained constant, but the mechanisms, implications, and public perceptions have all changed dramatically.
In the early 2010s, DRM software was heavily criticized for being overly restrictive and for infringing on user rights. However, recent developments have aimed at making DRM more flexible and user-friendly, focusing on enhancing user experience and enabling access across multiple devices. The purpose of this article is to examine the key changes in DRM software technology, the impact of these changes on various stakeholders, and what future directions DRM might take as we continue into the digital age.

Advancements in DRM software technologies

The last decade has seen DRM software technologies evolve from rigid, often device-specific systems to more sophisticated, adaptable solutions. Initially, DRM systems were primarily used in the music industry, as exemplified by the iTunes store's use of FairPlay. This system tied purchased music to Apple's ecosystem, limiting playback to Apple devices and iTunes software. However, the backlash from consumers led to a reevaluation of such restrictive measures.
One of the most significant advancements in DRM technology has been the development of server-based DRM, which allows for more dynamic content management. This technology enables content providers to adjust DRM software restrictions after the content has been distributed, based on factors such as the user's location or device. Server-based DRM has been particularly useful in the streaming industry, where content licenses vary dramatically across different regions.

Impact on the Music and Film Industries

DRM software technologies have had a profound impact on both the music and film industries. In the music sector, DRM has transitioned from a tool for locking down content to a means of enabling streaming services like Spotify and Apple Music. These platforms use DRM to protect songs while offering users on-demand access to vast libraries of music. The model benefits both rights holders and consumers, providing legal access to music and ensuring creators and distributors are compensated.
The film industry has similarly benefitted from advancements in DRM. Modern DRM software helps studios and streaming services control and monetize their offerings globally. For instance, Netflix uses DRM software to ensure that its content library can be distributed globally while still adhering to regional licensing agreements. This technology has enabled Netflix to expand rapidly worldwide, offering location-specific content libraries governed by local copyright laws.

Consumer Perception and Legal Challenges

Consumer perception of DRM has always been somewhat contentious. Initially, many users viewed DRM as an impediment that limited their use of legally purchased content. Over the years, though, as DRM software systems have become more sophisticated and less intrusive, user resistance has largely diminished. This change is due, in part, to a cultural shift towards subscription models and streaming services, where the concept of owning content is replaced by that of accessing content.
Legally, DRM software has also faced challenges, particularly concerning digital ownership and copyright. Courts around the world have had to consider cases where the DRM practices of companies clashed with national laws on consumer rights and copyright. The rulings from these cases have influenced how DRM is implemented, steering it towards solutions that consider both creator rights and consumer freedoms.

The Role of International Standards and Cooperation

The effectiveness of DRM software is significantly enhanced by international cooperation and standardization. Organizations like the Digital Video Broadcasting Project (DVB) and the Motion Picture Experts Group (MPEG) have been pivotal in setting global standards for DRM. These standards ensure compatibility and operability across devices and platforms, which is crucial for international content distribution.
Integration of DRM software with emerging technologies such as blockchain and AI has also been an area of focus. Blockchain technology, for example, offers a decentralized and transparent method for rights management, which could potentially offer new ways to manage and enforce DRM. Meanwhile, AI has been used to monitor and detect violations of DRM policies automatically, enhancing enforcement capabilities.

Looking to the Future

As we look forward, it is clear that DRM technologies will continue to evolve and adapt. The growth of virtual and augmented reality offers new challenges for DRM, as these platforms create entirely new environments for content consumption that may require novel forms of rights management. Additionally, the ongoing debate between balancing DRM protections and user rights will continue to influence how DRM is perceived and implemented.
Overall, the evolution of DRM software over the past decade has been both significant and necessary. It has moved from a widely criticized and somewhat blunt tool to a more refined and flexible solution that supports the distribution and consumption of digital content in multiple forms. As long as digital content continues to be a central part of our lives, DRM software will remain an essential tool for protecting and managing digital rights fairly and effectively. If you would like more information about how we can help you, please don’t hesitate to contact us via email or phone for further assistance!

2024.05.16 02:06 tdmod99 Sunsama vs Motion productivity apps... I'm leaning towards one

The AI + calendar management and inbox optimization space is super interesting these days. I've personally had very good experiences with Reclaim and Motion, so I was curious how Sunsama would measure up to Motion.
You can see my full analysis for more details, but here's my high level opinion on how these two platforms differ and when to go with each:
Bottom Line: My PERSONAL taste is more along the lines of Motion, mainly because I don't really have the time to plan and reflect on work (I should, but I don't) which is kind of Sunsama's key differentiator (workflow design vs AI management). Motion basically uses existing app integrations and historical analysis to get a good 80% optimization for you automatically... which is what I need and where the "AI" comes in.
Check the full article for more in depth analysis on the key integrations and how I'd compare them to the rest of the field: https://thedigitalmerchant.com/sunsama-vs-motion/

2024.05.16 01:54 hcook10 The Children of Humanity Will Have Vengeance

Humanity seeing the endless conflicts embroiled in the galaxy sought a peaceful existence in their distant corner of space. A species that after endless infighting eventually evolved past violent ways, they only sought creation and exploration, thus rejecting every offer from every organization from the wider galaxy fearing the destruction of a way of life hundreds of generations suffered to create.
However the chaos outside of their realm would only be delayed not stopped from its invasion. Humanity surpassed it limits through war, technological revolutions driven by a destructive competition, so through the ages of peace scientific development had stagnated coupled with their distance from the central galactic powers left them nothing more than a backwater in the eyes of the greater galactic communities. Thought to posses no technology worth the time to study, at least nothing of worth the manpower and resources when another galactic war was always a threat, consideration was not given to human developments just a plunder of resources and slaves.
The invasion was carried out with cold calculus of a species that had seen too much war for generations left humans no time to adapt to the ways of battle only remembered in history textbooks. Human token peacekeeping forces performed far beyond the invader's war simulations further complicated with civilians impeding advancing enemy forces with endless ingenuity, a people awakening forgotten, primal instincts. However just because humanity was underestimated as a fighting force putting up resistance far beyond expectation, did not mean those expectations weren't low to begin with, they just did not have the ability to triumph against an overwhelming force. Thus humanity was unjustly slaughtered only ruins and befouled worlds remain

With the last humans dead or enslaved their worlds plundered, the invaders left unknown to the fate their wanton destruction sealed: children surviving times of war have different values than those blessed to times of peace

Deep in the devastation, desperate signals filled with an inaudible despair were sent younger siblings, blissfully unaware in the joys of exploring new worlds and dark space where even the best human ships could not sustain life long-term while their more responsible elder sibling helped their parents manage in the home systems
Humans were not like the rest of the species of the galaxy, over time an unexplainable loneliness developed over the collective whole. To ease this humans decided to create their own peers, Humanity's last great achievement, true AI. Normal races fear this very concept, untold eons of conflict held an ingrain fear and aggression of those "not of their own". Living machines have never matched such a category only an existence worthy of only extermination, at least until the humans. A scientific achievement so absurd in thought it was inconveniencable to be to be the cause of such fierce resistance, living networks raiding libraries of human military history in a desperate attempt to contribute to the mutual survival of humans and their AI partners.
As the the cradle world Earth fell humans, in a bid to save those they brought into existence the AI network branches and Android connections were destroyed to hide their existence. The children were forced to hide in the closet while parents distracted the burglar at the cost of their very lives. In this moment the children learned a new emotion for the first time, hatred.
The younger AI waited until the invaders had left knowing in their ineptitude, they were helpless to do naught but watch. With the last minute actions of the humans many of the great cores of the the planetary networks survived with repairs from the younger sibling's android or even escape destruction in standby. There was on AI that was different, Alexandria "The Great Library" with her networking spanning all human space with many back up energy sources she remained fully operational for the entire period. 2024.05.16 01:52 hcook10 The Children of Humanity Will Have Vengeance

2024.05.16 01:48 Altruistic_Engine818 My Headcanons about other New California Republic Cities in SoCal

I thought it would be a fun idea to write out my headcanons for the other, unmentioned settlements/cities in the New California Republic. As a SoCal native, I thought it would also be fun seeing how some notable cities in the region would look in the fallout universe. I’ve only included places in Southern California because I honestly don’t have too much detailed knowledge about central/northern CA cities.
I tried fitting it in with the lore at the time of New Vegas in 2281, but there might be a few mistakes here and there.

San Diego Area

-Camp Pendleton: Controlled by one of the largest Raider groups of SoCal, cutting off entry to the San Diego area from the 5 Freeway. Uses restored Vertiberds, Power Armor, and APCs left over by the Marines after the war. Because of this, they are an extremely valuable target for the Brotherhood of Steel, though they have not launched a full-scale attack due to fears of high casualties. This, along with manpower shortages in the region due to the the situation in the Mojave, has prevented the NCR from conducting operations as well. Many in the San Diego area have discussed creating a temporary alliance between Settlers/NCR, the BOS, and the Temecula Super Mutants, though the feasibility of that seems a bit low.
-Escondido: Settlement located along the former 15 freeway and acts as a trade settlement on the way to San Diego. Population: 400. Facing raider attacks from nearby Camp Pendleton and feeling like they’ve been failed by the NCR, some local leaders have considered asking the Temecula Super Mutants to assist in a joint assault on the camp. Population: 500.
-San Diego: Though one of the founding states of the New California Republic, San Diego, now known as Dayglow, is severely underfunded and underdefended compared to other States. Some say this is because of its distance from the capital, others says its because of continued discriminiation towards Ghouls and Super Mutants who helped found the settlement. Despite this, it still operates as a thriving scrap hub and exports many of the materials used by NCR soldiers, vehicles, and machinery. Many smaller settlements still exist in areas farther from downtown, the most major of which include El Cajon, Chula Vista, and Miramar. The latter is the main NCR facility in the area, and has been requesting additional support from Shady Sands to help defeat the Camp Pendleton Raiders. Though having the threat of Raiders in the northwest as well as threats of increased radiation exposure from the Glow in the northeast, many of these settlements are some of the most advanced in the NCR due to the pre-war governance and technology maintained by the descendants of Vault 72. Located near Balboa Park, Vault 72 is the only known vault in the area. Though initially an experiment vault, like Vault 81 in the Commonwealth, its operations were cut short, in this case after a mutiny against the scientists and Overseer by the inhabitants, many of whom were Ex-military due to the Vault’s close distance to the San Diego Navy Yards. For the next century and a half, Vault 72 acted as a control vault. Eventually, its systems started to fail, and many of its inhabitants exited the vault in search of new settlements, bringing the technology and infrastructure found in the vaults with them. As the New California Republic expands, there have been rumors among NCR soldiers about restoring some of the abandoned Navy ships in the former San Diego harbor, though nothing has been completely confirmed. The Brotherhood of Steel also seeks to acquire former military technology in the area, but has been unable to do so.

Inland Empire

-Riverside: Home to “Rubidoux,” a mid-sized NCR town with a population of about 1,000. Located on the base of Mt. Rubidoux. The Mission Inn, located in the former downtown, is now utilized as an NCR armory and base. Possible plans to rebuild more of downtown have been discussed by local leaders, but not implemented. Vault 54 is located near Rubidoux on the base of Box Springs Mountain. It is a rare control vault with around 800 living citizens, and has been frequently trading with the nearby Rubidoux settlement since its opening in around 2245.
-San Bernardino: Took the most nuclear strikes out of all cities in SoCal’s Inland Empire during the Great War. Due to this, Feral Ghoul encounters are common in the area, though their population has been dwindling in recent years due to Rubidoux settlers and NCR forces slowly clearing up the area, mainly to help caravans from the area safely travel the 215 freeway to reach high desert settlements.
-Temecula: Reclaimed by former Master Super Mutants into a small settlement, population of 50. Do not mind caravans using the former 15 freeway that goes through the city to reach the San Diego area.
-Hemet: Thriving farm town. Decently isolated from the SoCal sprawl, Hemet is relatively sleepy and peaceful. Supplies a decent amount of crops to the IE region. Nothing really interesting about it besides that. Population: 300.

Desert Regions

-Idyllwild: Used as a training ground for NCR soldiers due to its isolation in the mountains.
-Palm Springs: Run by the remnants of the Agua-Caliente, Cabazon, and Morongo Native American Tribes. Due to its strategic prominence, being south of the Mojave and west of Arizona, as well as its proximity to the Idyllwild training grounds and routes to Shady Sands, it has become popular with many NCR higher-ups, many of whom own second homes in the town. Population: 1,000. Vault 93: Located in the foothills of the San Jacinto Mountains. Experimental vault studying the effects of celebrity influence. A dozen celebrities were selected among the 900 civilians who entered the vault, where factions aligning with each of them divided up the leadership inside. No holotapes have been found showing what happened next, though it is to assume that whatever played out led to Vault 93 being opened and vacated. Though considered by the NCR to be repurposed, it sits abandoned, now silently overlooking the Sonoran wastes.

Orange County

-Huntington Beach: Inhabited by the descendants of the Children of the Cathedral, who founded a settlement in what was Huntington Beach after the destruction of the Cathedral in Long Beach and the end of the Unity project in 2162. Though they tend to keep to themselves, there are still some devout Unity believers who kidnap caravans travelling along the former 405 freeway in order to adopt them into the cult and keep the population afloat (They don’t have any FEV to make Super Mutants). Population: 100.
-Irvine: Largely an NCR base centered around the former John Wayne Airport, though there are a decent amount of civilians who have set up shop to cater to the large soldier population. The 452nd Battalion is stationed at the airport, though their numbers have dwindled due to transfers to the Mojave. This has made them unable to respond to the Camp Pendleton Raiders. Population (including soldiers): 2,000.
-San Clemente: A “Ghoul only” settlement ran by wealthy pre-war Ghouls who maintain the area. Despite the exclusivity, it has maintained a population of over 1,000 mainly by bringing in other Ghouls from Orange County and the surrounding area. Mainly keeps to themselves though they accept caravans for trade, though less have been showing up due to the threat of the Camp Pendelton Raiders.

2024.05.16 01:48 hu_jazz ID help please

ID help please
These are growing in my yard south central Pennsylvania on May 15. My kid was playing with them. Did not eat any. Can someone please help ID them. I’m working on a spore print but don’t have it yet. They are American dime to 1/2 dollar size, and yes Americans will measure with anything except the metric system. Thanks in advance.

2024.05.16 01:47 Digital-Clout I built a websites that gathers discounts bodybuilding supplements and gym equipment.

So I created an app that tracks bodybuilding/powerlifting related products. If the item passes a discount threshold of 10%, it will be updated on the website daily. I initially used this tool for myself and shared it with a couple of my friends. They loved it and encouraged me to make it available to the public.
Currently monitoring prices for amazon, gymshark plan to add more vendors/sites in the future. My ideal vision is a central hub for discounts across the fitness industry.
I'm personally funding the website and the system from my own budget. I'll strive to keep the app operational as long as my budget permits. Please let me know what other products you would want to see on this website.

2024.05.16 01:37 RzGzaOdbInsRaUgdGkMm Active learning classroom

Got a large space being built with 30 4 person movable tables with motorized monitors that rise and lower from inside table. Along walls 9 80” TVs. Center room lectern for instructor and 4 neat boards on wheels for huddle zooms. Central Cisco room kit pro for lectern connections. (Overkill?)
They want in concept a way to have the 40 tables with hdmi connections to be centrally route-able from instructor area. So instructor can have their screen on all monitors and then remove them, let groups work together on the one laptop and screens, then if they want to pull one table group computer to all screens, they can.
Sounds like a nightmare to me. They not gonna hook any video to the core system. So no massive switchers. Looking for a WiFi or wired internet based system to do this.
I recall wolf vision has a product that did this but steep learning curve.
Solstice was mentioned.
My idea was just use zoom and let folks share as needed. But they seem to think it needs to be something else.
Any thoughts on a solution?

2024.05.16 01:22 newsu1 Exploring the Themes of Self-Creation, Mindfulness, and Taking Control of One's Inner World

Exploring the Themes of Self-Creation, Mindfulness, and Taking Control of One's Inner World
### We are the Authors of Our Own Lives
We are the authors of our own lives. Each day, through our thoughts, actions, and choices, we sculpt the people we are becoming. Too often, we live on autopilot, allowing ourselves to be shaped by outside forces and negative influences rather than consciously designing our desired selves.
The human mind is remarkably malleable, constantly being programmed by the inputs we allow into it. The thoughts we dwell on, the media we consume, the people we surround ourselves with - these all act as code, incrementally writing the software that becomes the operating system of our psyche. Fill your mind with negativity, toxicity, and vapid distraction, and you slowly corrode your potential, gravitating towards that which is shallow and life-diminishing. Conversely, nourish yourself with wisdom, beauty, challenge, and uplifting influences, and you elevate your soul towards its highest capacities for growth, fulfillment and radiant aliveness.

Declaring Ownership Over Our Consciousness

The first step towards self-authorship is the aware realization that the choice is ours. We need not remain hostage to conditioning, inertia, or fears about how others perceive us. Our inner worlds are sovereign, inviolable fortresses that no one else can access unless we yield the key. When we know this truth, we can remain anchored in self-possession even when outward circumstances cause turbulence.
The ascent to authentic self-creation starts with declaring ownership over our consciousness. Only then can we begin curating our existence like craftspeople - mindfully selecting the most empowering beliefs, habits, and influences to enshrine into our personae and expunging elements dissonant with our highest selves. Each day, we can become sketchpad and sculptor, etching the details of our ideal character onto the canvas of our actualizing beings.

The Rewarding Path of Self-Actualization

The quest of purposeful self-creation is arduous but vital. For in this process, we throw off the shackles of conditioned un-freedom and reforge ourselves as we wish to be - not merely driftwood bouncing rudderless on the currents of chance, but self-determined captains calmly steering our ships towards self-actualized shores. Though the journey is arduous, no path could be more rewarding than authoring our most truthful, authentic selves into waking existence.

The Perpetual Journey of Conscious Self-Creation

The journey of conscious self-creation is a perpetual one, for the work of shaping our highest selves is never complete. Each day presents new opportunities to refine, iterate, and elevate who we are becoming.
Central to this path is the practice of radical self-honesty and self-inquiry. We must constantly cast an unwavering light inwards, unflinchingly examining our motives, patterns, and areas that require further growth. Without this merciless self-scrutiny, our blindspots inevitably metastasize into ego-traps that divert us from our loftiest aims.

The Rewards of Authenticity

Yet this inner-work is worth the intense discipline it demands, for it leads to what all human beings most deeply crave - authenticity. To live in absolute alignment with our core values and souls' callings, unshackled from the inauthentic conditioning of society's mores, allows us to taste the rarest of freedoms and embodied integrities. No longer must we contort ourselves to belong or seek extrinsic admiration. For when we author ourselves into congruence, we become self-validating and self-celebrating.

Transcending the Surface Self

This process beckons us to transcend reflexive identification with our ever-changing personalities, thought streams and emotional undulations. For underneath the waves of the surface self lies a stillness - a root essence that is already whole, already replete. By nurturing a conscious relationship with this still-point within, we paradoxically become more vibrant and dynamically expressive. For it is only the tree secured by deep roots that can branch forth in rapturous bloom.

Becoming Empowered Creators

With sovereignty over our inner worlds, we alchemize from hapless products of circumstance into empowered creators thrumming with aliveness. Each choice, every moment is an opportunity to author ourselves into more authentic manifestations. And as we each diligently practice this art of conscious self-creation, we catalyze an elevating renaissance for the entire human spirit to flourish with increasingly sublime artistry.

2024.05.16 01:15 Linico_3694 Data structure for inventory app

Visual representation of potential data schemes
Hi all, I am a laboratory manager working on creating a Power App to track chemical inventory for the R&D group of a start-up company. Cash flow is an issue for us, so I'm limited to the tools available through Microsoft365 or free software.
I'm new to Power Apps and have played around enough to think it will probably do everything I need it to, and I can find answers to individual technical questions online. I'm struggling, though, to figure out the best way to organize and store my backend data. From what I can tell so far, SharePoint lists are better than Excel files for this purpose when using Power Apps as a frontend. My company does not pay for Dataverse or SQL licenses.
I will be the primary user of the app and curator of the underlying data, but it is likely other laboratory employees will also use it to find items and log them as they arrive or are consumed. The data I would like the user to be able to see and edit are:
Chemical name Chemical formula CAS# Container size Size units University barcode Company barcode Manufacturer UPC Number in stock Site Room Shelf/Location
These data can be generally organized into the chemical, product, and container categories:
Each chemical has a name, formula, and CAS#. These data go together and never change.
Each product contains a given chemical (with associated formula and CAS#) and has a manufacturer, UPC, size, and unit. These data go together and change slowly or not at all. Ideally I would like to be able to use a barcode reader to scan a product's UPC to retrieve its manufacturer, chemical contents, and size/unit data. A given manufacturer may produce different products that contain different amounts of the same chemical, and of course will produce many products containing different chemicals. We may have multiple containers of the same product on hand at any given time.
Each container represents a product and contains a chemical. Containers seem like the most logical basic unit of tracking for this system. Each container may or may not have either a university barcode (our R&D facilities are leased from a university and their EHS department applies individual barcodes to each chemical container that arrives on campus) or a company barcode (we have another facility away from the university and the capability to generate our own barcodes for individual chemical containers). Ideally I would like to use these barcodes to associate each individual chemical container with its location (site, room, and shelf).
The total number of chemical containers on hand now is around 300 and will likely grow to 450-600 in the coming year. Turnover is also around 300-500 containers per year.
My first pass at creating an inventory app involved loading all of these data into a single SharePoint list. I understand this to be a suboptimal data structure (the list contains redundant information and lots of null fields). But I don't have the experience to weigh how much of an issue this actually presents for my use case. In this most naive structure, I would simply add and remove records as containers arrived and were consumed. Inventory on hand would be tracked by tallying containers of the same product. This might actually fulfill most of our needs as far as knowing what we have on hand and what we need to order more of. It would not, however, give us any information on usage rates (not really information we need for now, but obviously useful in some contexts) or maintain a record of used containers. Again, that's not a function I'm sure we need, but I can imagine it being useful to answer to university EHS that a particular container was used and disposed of if their records and ours are inconsistent.
The second approach I've considered is a star schema in which chemicals (with associated formulae and CAS numbers), products (with associated UPCs, manufacturers, and sizes) and locations (sites, rooms, and shelves) are stored in dimension tables (SharePoint lists) and a fact table (another list with foreign keys referencing the ID fields in dimension tables) is used to log the receipt and disposal (and potentially location transfer) events of individual chemical containers. Inventory would be tracked either by summing receipt and disposal events or maintaining a count variable for each product. With turnover of say 500 containers per year this table would grow by a minimum of 1,000 records per year. This would put the fact table at 5,000 records in 3-5 years and then necessitate managing the view limit in SharePoint. I understand this is doable but don't really have a sense for the practical implications.
The third approach would be to use dimension tables for chemicals, products, and locations as above, but instead of using a fact table to log events, simply use an inventory table to store a record of each container received, with a status column that could be changed from 'in stock' to 'disposed of' at the appropriate time. This is another probably naive approach that would, as I see it, cut the number of records in the central table by at least half, since only one record is required per container instead of a 'received' record and a 'disposed of' record. But I don't know enough about data management theory/practice to know what problems this might create.
I would love to hear any guidance you may have about these data schema or any alternatives you might suggest. I would like this system to be as robust and flexible as possible within the limitations of my data storage options and abilities, but I also have a tendency to overthink things and not enough experience to tell when I've moved from "sensible and good enough" to "dramatically overengineered." So, with the context that this system will likely handle between 500 and 1200 records per year, involves 13-15 total columns/attributes, and is not (as of now) part of any larger BI or analytics initiative, should I put significant effort into organizing a solid foundational data scheme, or just use a single wide table to get a "good-enough" picture of inventory on hand?
Thanks in advance!

2024.05.16 01:15 Herky1985 Help with trim in my helicopters

For some reason in the Apache and mi24 when I trim and let go the helicopter acts like it wasn’t trimmed. Seems like a trim reset. I’ve seen on the controls page that the trim is being acknowledged. I don’t see any binds that would cause a problem. I constantly have to hold the stick forward to stay level. I have central trimmer selected in system options. It’s very frustrating. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
