we’ve dated for half a year. they initiated the break up, reason being that their feelings towards me wasn’t as strong as mine, coupled with on-going stressful situations in their life. And they told me i should be with someone that is sure of me.
while things ended cordially, i removed them from all my social media and deleted our picture. As much as i missed them, i probably grieved during the relationship, hence i wasn’t as devastated as i thought i would be.
2 days later, Today, they’ve sent me a message saying how they realised part of them was missing due to my absence. i thought that it was pretty impulsive of them, and decided to just stay as friends for now. I have never been friends with an ex, and i’m honestly unsure of how i should go about this, and whether i made the right choice. i know that this is pretty vague, but i would like an realistic honest opinion from you guys with much more experience in relationships than i do. thank you!

I bought the original NReal Air in early 2023 and thought it was really cool, but had several issues that made me not want to use it much.
They weren’t very comfortable for my head geometry, and it was difficult to consistently keep them situated in the sweet spot for screen clarity, even with the prescription inserts. Because of those issues, I didn’t jump on the Air 2 when it first came out. I was worried they’d just be more of the same. All the complaints on the Internet about blurry edges and poor fit didn’t help either.
I finally rolled the dice on the Air 2 Pro a week ago, after coming across some posts and reviews that said they were more comfortable and fit better than the previous generation Air. Turns out, that’s the case for me!
I’m one of the lucky people who are in the right IPD range for the Air 2 Pro screens, and they also fit my head much more comfortably than the original Air. The new nose pads are also great, they don’t hurt my nose after a while like the original Air nose pads did, and I don’t see any blurriness along the edges or corners of the screens.
I’m also able to see all four edges and corners clearly. The electrochromatic dimming on the Air 2 Pro sounds like a gimmick, but I actually love this feature. I can more easily see my keyboard and surroundings indoors with 0% dimming, 35% feels like my old Air, and the 100% level is plenty good enough for watching movies.
I can’t really speak to the audio features. I’m deaf and wear a hearing aid, so I’m not the best person to quantify how well the Air 2 speakers and mic work.
The new hard case is great, but I miss the divider and the zipper on the old Air case.
XReal might want to consider doing more than one size of frame for future releases, or maybe add some way for the user to adjust the IPD. I suspect that might help resolve the blurriness some people have reported, and different frame sizes would help with the other comfort issues.
I really like the Air 2 Pros, so two thumbs up from me. I’m much happier with them than I was with the original Air, and use them a lot more.
The Beam…I’m a bit more ambivalent about it, but I also kind of can’t live without it at the same time.
I’ve read a lot of negative feedback about it over the past year that turned me off, so I didn’t really have any interest in the Beam until I got it in a bundle with the Air 2 Pro.
I remember the launch messaging when it first came out wasn’t very clear about what the Beam brings to the table, and I suspect that this unclear messaging also resulted in a lot of misunderstandings about what it was meant to do, and then people started trying to use it for things it wasn’t really made to do, which isn’t generally gonna make for a great user experience.
So, now that I’ve used it for a week…I can say that I understand most of the negative feedback, but I still like the Beam for what it is, a spatial puck that gives the glasses some degree of 3DOF functionality.
It does that more smoothly and better than the Nebula app does on my phones or PCs. I don’t know if I’d say it’s worth the extra $120 just for that alone, but it does the job it was designed to do fine.
I feel like it probably should’ve been included with the glasses, it should be in a matching colorway and finish, and most importantly, it should still be able to charge while a device is plugged in for wired video without resorting to third party accessories.
I don’t like that it doesn’t seem to work well with DRM-protected streaming content over wireless, and that probably should’ve been sorted before it was released.
When running apps directly on it, I start feeling like it’s being pushed too hard into territory it wasn’t meant to handle. Netflix and Prime Video seem to have worse quality than on my other devices, browsing the web isn’t as pleasant an experience as it is on my other devices, and the lack of support for Google services kind of hurts it a bit. Plus, all of that effort the Beam has to put into that makes it heat up rapidly.
It doesn’t get anywhere nearly as hot for me when in normal use as a spatial puck. It warms up a bit when charging, and feels a bit warm to the touch after prolonged use, but it doesn’t get alarmingly hot.
It’s cool that the Beam can make an earnest effort at running some apps itself, but I have much better tools for that job, so that capability is ultimately not much of a selling point for me. It should stick to what it does best: spatial stuff.
I was fully prepared to dislike the Beam, but the truth is, every time I plug my Air 2 Pro directly into a device without the Beam, I immediately find myself missing the things the Beam brings to the table.
It’s like I can’t live without the smooth follow mode and the ability to fiddle with screen size and distance.
If it were able to still charge while my phone was plugged in, and it didn’t have issues with wireless streaming of DRM content, it’d get two thumbs up. For now, it gets a wistful “I wish I could give this two thumbs up because it’s so close”.

I have been getting into fighting games recently. I played mkx, mk11, and now mk1 all on pad and i have no issues with them.
Recently i have been playing t8 and sf6 and playing with the pad just does not feel natural in comparison when using pad for NRS games. I get way too many miss inputs and find it hard to react to attacks by dashing/sidestepping. I have been taking SF6 more seriously lately and I tried to transition from modern controls to classic controls because modern controls locks me out of my moves and I really don’t like that, and I’m used to manual inputs from practicing and T8. But having attacks as my shoulder buttons feels way too weird.
As for what I want to transition to, Leverless seems to be the goto choice for most but I really don’t want to pay for giant keyboard that has large buttons. stick seems more appealing to me but I’m scared of spending a lot of money and I end up not gaining much from my purchase, and also I may have difficulty to get used to it.
Any help is appreciated! I’m just scared to settle on anything at the moment.

Cue a cold, rainy Tuesday evening. I was stranded on the side of the road, my car refusing to ignite its fiery heart due to a nasty surprise of a dead battery. I had an umbrella, a cranky car, and a dead phone. A recipe for delightful disaster, wouldn’t you agree?
In my desperation, my mind stirred. It began to draw upon the well of past experiences, searching for a makeshift solution to my current predicament. I thought of how I once jump-started my neighbor’s car, using nothing but a pair of spare cables and a little common sense. "But wait," my mind countered, "Don't be hasty. Think it through."
That, folks, is your brain running a heuristic program. It’s like a mental shortcut – quickly applying learned experiences to find an immediate solution. And it’s usually a darn good one. But as Sherlock Holmes wisely said, "It is a capital mistake to theorize before you have all the evidence…"
So, instead of blindly applying the heuristic, I took a moment to mentally simulate – vividly picturing – the entire process of jump-starting my car. Step by step. Wire by wire. Spark by spark.
In this mental run-through, I spotted a hitch. I remembered that my umbrella had a metallic wireframe. And the last thing I wanted to do was to turn myself into a human lightning rod, by fiddling with car batteries in the rain.
I concluded that the safest and wiser course of action was to seek shelter and wait out the storm, while subtly hinting to the occasional passerby about my damsel-in-distress situation.
Both the heuristic and the mental simulation played an important role here. The heuristic provided a quick solution, but the mental simulation helped me foresee potential hazards, thus leading to a safer alternate solution.
Oh, and by the way, this is a hypothetical situation. You didn't honestly think I'd be stranded on a cold, rainy roadside with a dead car and phone, typing all this on my laptop, did you? I mean, doesn't everyone know that keyboards and rain don't mix? 😉
Moral of our little story: A heuristic is a great jump-start, but never underestimate the power of a mental run-through before you take the leap. It might just save you from being, oh I don't know, electrocuted.

Hey Reddit fam! Just thought I'd share a little story with you today. As a novice chess player, I've been trying to improve my game. I've always been pretty terrible at chess, and I kept wondering why. Turns out, I was missing some major strategic thinking.
So, I called my friend Linda, who happens to be a seasoned player. She suggested I try creating a mental image before making my moves. The idea is this: instead of viewing each move as independent, I should create a mental image of the entire game and how I want it to play out. Just like an architect seeing a blueprint in their mind before they start.
I was skeptical but decided to give it a go. With this new strategy, I could see multiple moves ahead, possible responses from my opponents, and visualize different outcomes. It was like a montage scene in a sports movie. By doing so, I was able to capture Linda's queen and win a game for the first time ever!
Compare that to a heuristic approach, a shortcut method that I usually use. Like always moving pawn to e4 or knight to f3 as first moves, because someone told me it was a strong opening. It did help me start the game strong, but I often lost in the middle because I didn't have a broader picture in mind. I just followed a set of 'rules' without really understanding the why's and how's.
With the mental image strategy, I didn't just follow a fixed pattern. Instead, I made decisions based on the dynamic picture in my head, which changed with every move. Both strategies have their merits: the heuristic approach helps save time while the mental image approach enables more strategic thinking in complex scenarios.
Next time you're facing a complex problem, maybe try using a mental image instead of sticking to your habitual rules (or heuristics). Might just surprise yourself!
P.S. No Lindas were harmed in the creation of this story. Also, I'm still pretty bad at chess. But now I lose with a better understanding of why I'm losing! Isn't learning fun?

I almost decided to ignore the backlight bleed of this replaced display as people say. But today when watching netflix I found backlight changes when I adjust the angle(especially on left bottom). Is this really normal for m2 air? And it's hard to take a picture, but when I look at it with my eyes, I see a lot of small squares at the bottom of the screen(It's definitely not that the keyboard is reflected. It looks the same from any angle). What's causing this and do I have any other way to get rid of these problems without getting repair again?

we have 6 kids in total and 3 are with me.
So to begin this story of my 9 year relationship we have had our ups and down like everyone else, my wife has for instant been Captured taking pictures of her self naked to other men 6 times, and i forgave her everytime due to it just was a picture and she never touch the guy. so my jealousy was really bad as we never workt on that trust really, we just went on with our relationship and i was clingy and did not really like her going out to much as we had small kids and they have neurodevelopmental disorders like ahd autisum. as soon as she got a job again she would cheat after 3 months in that job. we had financial problems to loosing jobs getting them back and going in debt due over it.
but the last 3 months i found out that she was talking to someone from my gutfeeling and checkt it out, and i was right, the guy she was talking to she had sent pictures and more to before, they talkt about how much they mean to each other and that they love each other, and sent nudes to. that was her breaking point, i told her what do we do as i stod there and cryed to her why ? and she said i dont know, then all out of the blue she explained she had feeling for the guy, and she is never allowed to go out and drink with friends or hang out with her guy friends as i was jealous, she said give me space and let me see if the feeling disapers, i call the guys wife and let her know what happend and we talkt for about 2h about this and cry to each other, she still tryes to get with the guy and the guy says he wants to be with my ex wife, but then the other wife said that she is pregnant and he came running back to her, i was ready to leave by then, but my wife insist we should just give it time and space to se if the feelings get back to her.
enter friend girlfriend O to my ex wife and me. She told me she would spy on ex wife even tho i said no dont.
so enter our friend K is a 40+ year old friend of both of us, more to the wife tho. K and my ex wife start talking about the situation.
K and my ex still made me jealous as it was a fresh wound and we really did not talk about it.
now my ex wife has to go to her sisters to watch her kids as she is going to a party, and while she is there we talk alot over snapchat and she sends really hot pictures of her to me, and i tell her what i would like to do with her, after that day she comes home and we have sex and try to work on it, but after the sex she is cold as ice after and only hangs with K. she tells me my friends want me to go on a event in the city with live music and drinks, this is a test if ur jealousy is ok if not i will leave she said. i was in terapi about my jealousy by now.
so that day rolls around she goes out with her girlfriend O and have fun and during the night i still talk to her on snap. she says she lost her friend O and lookt for 20mins to find them, and was really sad as the girlfriend O just wanted her to hook up with others and she said no, they went to a pub and drank and girlfriend O wanted to take a taxi home but my ex wife said no and walkt home, i greet her at the door with a hug and say did you have fun and did you get home safe with someone ? as i dont really like her to walk where we live alone. this was my ex wifes story.
she said no we walkt to this pub and took a few drinks and my girlfriend wanted me to hook up with people so i just walkt home alone and called my mom. this is really late at night to.
so que next day after she sleept the rush of, i get a text from the girlfriend O that she was faithfull and she took a taxi home and i had my eyes on her all the time and we did not run in to K at all,
my ex wife then tells me we did run in to K, but i only said hi and we walkt away, and i confront the Girlfriend O how she could lie about taking a taxi and leaving my ex wife to walk alone, and she swears my ex wife took the taxi home with them, i really just wanted her to be safe around these events. later after i push Girlfriend O harder my ex wife tells me she walkt with K home as she did not want to go in a taxi after feeling abit sick,
i tell her why did you just not tell me that right away ? then you would be jealous she said and act angry, i told her no am glad K took you home safe just dont lie about it.
i then later that night text K thanks for taking my ex wife home safe. means alot ur a good guy, and K start going on about the night, how they meet in the crowd and went on rides and did not find Girlfriend O and they went to the pub and had a drink and then Girlfriend O called her and askt where ex wife was, so they meet up in the pub and then we walkt home to you, K lives like 300m away from us so nothing wierd if they walk right ?, i was like ok thanks for taking care of her and next time she might just go with you as she clearly had more fun with you K. and then he dropt a bomb on me, are you guys devorcing or are you still trying ? and i say still trying. and he finds it wierd as he said "because sometimes we talk and type" and "sometimes you and her talk and type" and i call him right away and ask him to be upfront about it, he said he will call in 2h ok fine i think, but my wife is typing like crazy on her phone then, and locks the screen as i get close, another red flag, i call him and ask him to clearfy that statment, and he said no we just talking like about you guys and then sometimes i see you type to her some cute message or stuff, witch i do.
this makes my wife devorce me, and i beg and plead to let us give it a chance again and this time be honest with each other. after alot of work we still devorce but as we have kids we still count as married for 6 months, and we both agreed we would use that time to se if we can find back, as she cant keep the apartment due to debt as we had to get my dad to co sign it. i was ready to move and take me my dad off the contract, making her homeless with 6 kids, witch i did not want to, but as i had debt to and my father wanted to support me and could not stay on 2 contracts he said he will help me.
i think fine but still the feeling of K and my ex wife never leaves, so i rig a webcam at my pc to spy on her as i go out to buy a mothersday gift, she finds the webcam and start to scream and become balistic on me that i never trust her and that i was dissgusting for invading her privacy she permanently deleted the file with Shift Delete. i feel so bad i called my therapist and admitted what i did and she help me formulate a good apology and i go and tell her am really sorry in a really good way and explain why i did it and that it still was not ok, she just gave me the cold shoulder and said she dont feel safe here anymore at all, all i wanted was proof if she was really sending Pictures to K to. ex wife now uses all her free time with K and dont care at all about the kids, i work like 11h weekends shifts as am in health care for disabled kids/adults, so i cant leave they need me, and her 15 year old calls me and tells me she is out with the dog and talking to K and has been out there for 30 mins and the kids are screaming, i call her angry and tell her to get back inside and take care of the kids, and she just tells me atleast am walking the dog. well its her dog so i really dont care to much about animals like that so.
friday that night she walks home to K to drink, K has problems with alchole, i just got off a 11h shift, my youngest kids is sick and keeps waking up so i have to go up and put him to sleep again and again, and i have another 11h tomorrow i have to do, so i call her and tell her to get home, i give my kids some medicin and go wait for my ex wife witch takes about 2h to get home, remember its about a 300m walk. she really just did not want to go home i guess. she talk about how they where drinking and talking to his parents and planing a trip 2h away to K's parents to see if she would miss me she said, i tell her no why ? why cant you just stay at ur moms or other girlfriends ? and she said i already told them i would be going so i kinda have to. week go by and i keep trying to make pysical contact with her in hugs or massaging her feet after work as her feet get really swollen, i cook for her and make time to watch some tv shows that week, and saturday comes around
she is now giving me the cold shoulder again and we get in a fight about her leaving with K, i tell her i will write my name off the contract and leav so u can be with K i dont care, and she starts crying and tells me to wait abit and walks the dog, i look inside her backpack she packed for the trip and find a sexy night gown i bought for her in there, i confront her about that to, and she just says she has nothing else to wear while going to sleep. i give her my t-shirt and toss that night gown away and tell her use this. and i got so angry i started kissing her and hugging her, she leaves, and i type to her that am sorry for kissing you and stuff as we both feelt we needed time to get there the week where we had fun. she tells me it was nice and we should do it more often. she stays the night there at his parents place she calls me and tells me they arrived and everything so i feel good about this as we just kissed, i have been bending my back so hard to clean, work on my self, have the meals ready and stuff, i work almost only weekends so i take care of it as she works on weeks.
but sunday she comes home and we talk about about what she did and if she had fun, she did tell me she really missed me during that time and that gave me hope again, but still the feeling of K did not leave.
she was cold almost 3 days and said she still dont know... mind you this is now 1.5 months in and i have done everything i can to make us work i still sleept in a diffrent room as she was not really that comfortable after the whole webcam insedent. when she got back home i told her to stay with her sister and work this out if she still want to. as she is there i can see her search history and she is looking for bracelets for boyfriends and a bottle of capten morgan witch u can make ur own lable on it that is K's favorit, i call her and ask wtf are you doing, and she said his birthday is comming up and i want to get him something nice, and i tell her but you search for BOYFRIEND, not like Braclets for guys, and she said otherwise just some girly stuff comes up, and i told her no ur looking for Braclet for Boyfriends with ingravings...so i took matters in to my own hands and snaped her and askt right out is there anything betwin you and K and she said yes i have feelings for him, and i think to my self what the **** and she said i have not told him anything at all and u cant do that, so i confront K and ask him if anything happend, he said no and i tell him she has feelings for u, how do u want to do this ? want me to move out so u can be with her ? and K said no, i dont want to get in betwin you guys, i see her as a friend and then i told him then can u back off for a while and dont text snap or call her ? and he said sure... and K wanted to know how we meet, so i told him it was rough, i told him about how when we started the realationship i got a std, a minor one u can just take a pill (Clamydia) and its gone, that her Ex gave her before the brake up. and that sent my wife bannanas, K twisted this story too and told ex that she still has it, and never treated it, so in order now to have contact with her about the kids and not go throu soical services or i had to apolgyse to K about it and say i lied, witch i did, but still the damages was done she is now really done with me i guess as she blocked me on facebook and snapchat and will not awnser any calls or text. she also added back the friends she cheated on me with (just pics no touching) and still staying with friends and have the kids there now. was i in the wrong here to confront him ?
also is there a way to find back even tho she said never even if i got 1m on my bank accoun ?

1) Is it okay to use multiple forms of cleansing? Rev. Siuda teaches to use natron water, but can I add an extra method (using a besom or hand held equivalent) into the cleansing process/alternate between? Or would doing this just be redundant/stick with the natron water instead?
2) Rev. Siuda's Prayerbook talks about the physical set up of the shrine and also set up expectations around prayer. Is it a universal requirement to specifically have the candle in the center, etc.? I used to follow the Wiccan religion, and my old shrine set up then was a little different. Honestly, the biggest thing I want to continue doing is leaving the center of the shrine empty instead of having the candle/incense/offering dish there. I specifically liked having the space open so that I can have the motion of physically handing over offerings or items. I know it's such a small gesture, but it's something that I really liked being able to do. It just makes the prayer experience more personal for me, you know? Would this be okay or should I stick to specifics from the Prayerbook?
3) Rev. Siuda also sets up an expectation for specific daily prayer. Back when I was Wiccan, I treated my altar as a more formal meeting space, so I usually only physically sat down there to pray a few times a week when something important happened or needed to be addressed and did most of my daily prayers I guess as more informal passing moment kind of things and usually as I'm laying in bed getting ready to sleep (for example, stopping to verbally say "thank you for XYZ, I really appreciate that I'm able to experience ABC"). I've kind of just been dealing with this sort of guilt that I'm not doing this "right" since I've continued to pray like that even after converting. Should I just stop taking the KO so literally and only think of them as general guidelines or do I need to buckle down and change my approach to prayer?
4) I bought a little pyramid figure (it's clear resin with gold design) and I've been wanting to gift it to the Netjer for several weeks now, but I feel like it might start breaching the territory of turning the shrine into some weird aesthetics display if I do it. Should I still gift it but place it somewhere else (I think I can make a small space on my desk atm and eventually when I get my own place, I can definitely buy a second smaller table for it and all future non-food offerings) or would it be okay since the intention isn't just to make the shrine pretty, it's a gift?
5) I work wih my hands, so it's nearly impossible for me to go about without minor cuts and breakage. Would this be considered an impurity? The KO suggests not to pray while injured or bleeding. I can buy gloves to keep at my altar if needed.
6) Do you think the Netjer will be offended by cat fur getting on my shrine/the cats themselves? It's physically impossible to keep them out of my room due to my living space rn. I'll be able to keep them off while using the shrine, but I can't hover over and watch them every second of the day, and specifically one ALWAYS has to investigate anything she sees I'm giving my attention to lol.
7) Finally, is it acceptable to add a photograph to my altar of a deceased loved one? I like to keep his picture in spots that attract the most love/positive energy. It wouldn't be a main display kind of thing, maybe just behind everything in one of the far top corners. I'm open to any and all suggestions except taking the picture out of the frame as it's the only printed one I have atm, so I'd like to keep it protected. I'd also like to incorporate him into ancestral prayer but we aren't actually related, just close friends and dated briefly. Is that okay or should I keep him separated from that?

So recently I replayed the CS arc. When I first got into these games, I started with CS and played all the way through, so obviously I was missing important context for a lot of things. After that I just went from Sky 1 through to Azure, then jumped to Reverie.
Over the last couple months I did a CS replay so I could get a “new experience” with the information I lacked before. And in anticipation for Daybreak, I replayed Reverie as well. And it made me want to kind of do a “thoughts on the series” post because the more I replay the game, the more excited and terrified I become of the future. And I kinda want to hear everyone else’s opinions on certain things.
So first I wanna talk about the characters. This series, for me, is really carried hard by a lot of the cast. Yeah, there are characters I don’t like, and some I find kinda bland, but the ones who shine really REALLY shine. But the problem is that even if we just count the playable characters across the series, we’ve cleared like 60 characters, and a lot of them didn’t make a return in Reverie - which was supposed to be the big crossover event. Like, Kloe is briefly there but she plays no role in the plot, she isn’t playable, hell outside of a Daydream she doesn't even have lines. Anelace is Master Ka-Fai’s Granddaughter and nobody even talks about her outside of the Sky series. Josette turned into a glorified bus driver. And let’s be real - at this point the Liberl crew is here out of obligation more than anything, with the sole exception of Tita. And the weird part is that, based on their story, I think they have the MOST reason to be around when dealing with Ouroboros, but they don’t do anything with this connection, really.
Now why bring this up? Because I feel like we’re going to start losing a LOT of characters in the future. They cannot keep up a cast this large. My concern, though, is that it’ll be a lot of my favorites. I mean, I love Crow, and I know Rean will show up. And let’s be real, where Rean goes, Crow is sure to follow. He doesn’t concern me. But what about a lot of my other favorites? It pains me, but I don’t see Juna coming back. Her arc is linked to Crossbell, and we solved all their problems. And the same thing goes with a lot of the Crossbell Crew. Reverie’s ending makes me think Lloyd will come back along with, likely, the main 4 SSS-ers, but what about Noel? She doesn’t have much reason to leave Crossbell. The same goes for another favorite of mine - Claire. She doesn’t really have any reason to leave Erebonia. I can’t imagine she’s coming back. Same with a lot of Class VII. Jusis is ruling a province. He can’t just go galavanting off. Same with characters like Machias, Laura, and Millium. And I think my biggest fear is the Liberl crew. Now don’t spoil me, but based on the Reverie Daydreams, I’m expecting Renne to be in the future games. But what about the rest? Falcom seems hell bent on getting rid of a lot of the Liberl crew. Like I said, we haven’t been able to play them in a long time. Kloe, Anelace, Schera, Mueller, Julia, Kevin, Reis, Josette, Zin… if they’re even around they’re a shell of their former selves. And in Reverie, Estelle and Joshua may as well be mannequins with their faces for all it matters - at least outside of the daydreams featuring them. So yeah, the future terrifies me. I really wanna see my favorites return in a big way - especially characters like Juna - but I don’t think many of them will, and if they do, they’re not going to be the same. They’ll make Juna into some traveling Michalem executive who doesn’t fight, or reduce Rixia down to just a dancer girl, maybe give some of my favorites the Kevin treatment, or just turn Estelle and Joshua into just borderline Bracer NPCs no different from Lynn and Aeolia.
That said… I’m incredibly excited for the new characters these gaps will bring. I didn't play the Daybreak Demo - I wanted to go in as blind as possible. But it's kinda impossible to ignore everything about the game at this point. I can already tell there's at least one character I’m going to love based on what little I’ve seen. I just wish these new characters didn't come off the back of others.
Next, I wanna talk about Ouroboros. Now this is gonna be controversial - I know - but I don’t know how I feel about them being the main antagonists. Because the thing is, with Osborne out of the picture, I think they’re going to move back into the spotlight as our main antagonistic force once more. The thing is… I cannot take them seriously. I know people are gonna go “B-b-but the Grandmaster can smell all possible futures with her amazing super duper god powers! She’s soooooo stupor doopur stronk!” and yeah. Sure. But here’s the thing. Her “plans” read like they aren’t made by someone who can see the future. Because they’re all effectively just sending her people in to fuck around, then lucking into whatever she needed to get - many times at a cost to her organization. Like, let’s look at the CS arc to explain. So she recruits Vita, then Vita turns on her and, because of this, Osborne steals their “plan”. He then effectively forces them to work for him, while they try to actively hunt Vita down. And by the end of CS4, they’ve also lost McBurn. Meanwhile every single plan she puts in motion during this arc is “I send person A to place B where they get their ass kicked, but somehow this results in me obtaining the key component to the Super Scrupulous Mashed Potato Penguin Plan, and for some reason my underlings will all just go “I understand. Me getting kicked in the mouth so hard that my shit has teeth marks now was all part of the master plan. Oh how wise and powerful you are! Now pardon me while I go ice my two black eyes and broken nose with a now toothless smile.” But then for whatever reason… Vita goes back to Ouroboros. It’s a good fucking thing your search parties DIDN’T find her, Grandmaster. If they had that would have ended poorly. Oh! But of course you knew they wouldn’t find her so… WHY THE FUCK DID YOU SEND THEM TO HUNT HER IN THE FIRST PLACE?! Like if I could SEE THE FUCKING FUTURE I would just not hire dumbasses who betray me, are hilariously incompetent, or fucking die. I would also simply not make plans where my people just get kicked to Ghenna and back by children. If I just know everything, why do I need to have my idiots test out magical artifacts in Sky? Why do I need to perform these little experiments since I should already know their outcomes? Hell, why do I even need to make these elaborate plans to get artifacts when I should just know where they are and just GO FUCKING GRAB THEM. Nobody would have been able to stop her if she DIDN’T create a cabal of super terrorists to go cause problems and just strolled around collecting shit. Like if she just summoned the Ark herself to get what she needed, the Bracers WOULDN’T have been onto her in the slightest, meaning they wouldn’t be around to stop her.
And that’s all just their leader. Don’t get me started on the fact that, at this point, we have either converted, killed, or kicked the absolute cunt out of 90% of their members. Like, I just can’t take these idiots seriously as a threat. I don’t care that the Grandmaster can supposedly see the future. I don’t care that she has this coalition of super beings, and I don’t care that she’s absolutely either Aidios or the Sept-Terrion or Mirage… or both. Because what she and her troup ACTUALLY are, to me, are a bunch of fucking dumbass clowns who think they’re cool. They’re basically all Wimp Lo from Kung Pow if anyone gets that reference. Fuckin “I’m bleeding, making ME the victor!” dumbasses.
It's such a shame too because as individuals, I find a lot of them super interesting. McBurn seems like he's gonna have some really cool shit coming up. I really love Vita and her role in the CS arc. I think Joshua, Renne, and Loewe were awesome. But the problem is that it's hard to take them seriously all together.
Weissman, Novartis, The Emperor, and Bell may as well be the same character for all it matters - but two of them are dead, one has been thwarted twice, and one thwarted once. Walter and Luci got their asses beat so hard they stopped being in the series. Arianrhod and Loewe are dead. Sharon, Bleublanc, Josh, Renne, and McBurn are out. And then we have Campy who basically exists to be a punching bag at this point. I don't think anyone has taken more L’s than him in this series.
I’m kind of hoping that the Calvard arcs “true” enemy is President Dickface or Heiyue. If that happened I’d be all on board. But at this point I just cannot see me getting invested in another dumb Ouroboros meme scheme that ends with us beating the actual fuck out of them, and then the GM going “Ah yes. Two more of my team died, and five others are nursing broken ribs. All according to plan.”
Finally, I wanted to touch on the general gameplay. Now a lot of this is based on spoilers I was unable to avoid - and I’m very mixed on how things seem to be shaping up in this regard. I know the combat is different going forward and I don't know exactly how I’ll feel about that until I play it, but I do think I’ll still prefer the CS system. Turn based combat is really dying out - and while I love FF16 and the 7R games with their action combat, I do miss standard turn based. And it kinda feels like a shame that Trails, a game with incredibly well realized turn based combat, is steering away from it.
That said, I also know they’ve removed the romance mechanic and… Thank FUCK for that. One of my biggest gripes with Crossbell and CS is that all the women effectively needed to be written as a sort of “Schrodinger's Girlfriend” where they are all written in such a way that they both are and aren't dating the protagonist. I mean, don't get me wrong, a lot of these ladies still number among my favorite characters - Juna, Sara, Rixia, Alisa, Altina, Fie… But at the same time, it is so damn annoying to know that they could have also been given more of their own arcs, not tied to Lloyd or Rean, if Falcom had just said “Elie and Alisa are the girlfriends” with an actually well written romance arc like they had clearly intended. I’m so fucking glad that is out, so now maybe we can see characters have actual narrative relationships again like in Sky.
Though I will say that the downside to this is losing out on the otherwise normal hangouts. The social elements of CS are what made me love Class VII even more. We got to see characters during their down time. We got to see other sides of them. One of my favorites is Rean asking Altina what she wants to paint, and almost by instinct she just points to him. It's one of the most adorable scenes that really shows both the bond between them, and the potential for Altina. But now we won't get those moments.
That said I also know this has been replaced with a Mass Effect-esque Paragon/Renegade system and… Again I don't know how to feel here. My obvious concern is that this system won't matter, just like the romance mechanic. They’ll have to make it a Schrodinger's Morality where Van both is and isn't a paragon of virtue and menace to society, and again, this bothers me. I wish they’d just make the narrative they want.
Anyway. Those are my general thoughts. I’m not necessarily looking for like… Reassurance or anything, especially if it involves spoilers, but I’m more wondering if I’m alone in feeling a lot of these. Daybreak is a game that both excites and terrifies me. Because I’ve come to love this series so much. Hell, I’d say it had eclipsed Mass Effect as my favorite video game series of all time. But seeing the state of things post-Reverie, and having some general Daybreak spoilers, kinda terrifies me of what's to come, and not in the good kind of “fear” like the horrible anticipation after CS3’s ending. According to a 2011 text interview by Cassie The Venomous with Gerard and Mikey, the song was played once live at NJ's Loop Lounge to bad reactions from the band and poor fanfare and as a result shelved from future releases. Later possibly reworked into an unreleased song named "'Android...' something?". Though according to a 2004 post by SpaceyRaygun, a long-time friend of the band, Nine Volt Heart was instead reworked onto a Revenge track. ^{Fandom rumors going back to at least 5/3/2006 claim Nine Volt Heart was a cover of the Smashing Pumpkins' song Bodies albeit with slightly different lyrics. Although the poster's source songmeanings.net has since taken down the potentially false lyrics page.}
The Attic Demos ^aka Dreams ^\of/about]) Stabbing and/or Being Stabbed - A CD Distributed at early shows and among the band's circle. Later partially released on 2014's MDNSY, though these demos circulated the fandom pre-2014 from these promotional CDs.

Wish You Away ^aka Drowning Lessons Rough Mix - If community sources are to be believed (1) (2) (3) (4)) (5) a variant of The Attic Demos distributed among friends and family of the band contains recordings of 'Vampires Will Never Hurt You' titled "Stabbing" and 'Drowning Lessons' titled "Wish You Away" (Pre-release titles corroborated by the early instances of My Chemical Romance's website).
Stabbing ^aka Vampires Will Never Hurt You Demo - Found as of July 23rd, 2022. Demo released via Instagram from for Bullet's 20th anniversary. This CD was given to Nada Recording in 2002 prior to their recording of Bullets. Clip is partially cut off and downloaded through Instagram API.
Early Sunsets Over Monroeville Demo - An Attic Demo found by SpaceyRaygun with an Early Sunsets Over Monroeville recording not included on MDNSY. Included in notable bootlegs such as Self-titled MP3 Collection released 2010. ~Fake demo debunked by (Friend of Matt Pelissier) and SpaceyRaygun (The track's original source).

Sister to Sleep - One of the earliest songs written for Revenge, revealed in a 2003 interview as conceptualized for The Freddy vs. Jason Soundtrack before licensing fell through. It was re-conceptualized around The Sandman series of comics, where sleep is anthropomorphized as the titular Sandman, and his sister as Death. In its released form, the lyrics explore sleep as an analogy for death and themes of insomnia and institutionalization. Ultimately, the track was cut from release by producer Howard Benson. Two live recordings (1) (2) of this song have circulated the fandom for a number of years, with one found more recently all from the same show played in NYC's the Knitting Factory on 6/26/2003. On 10/17/2022, it was played once more in Inglewood during the RETURN Tour, albeit slightly different lyrics. Later, Frank spoke on a 2023 interview about using live footage for practice, likely explaining the difference in lyrics. In 2013 the band had stated in an interview potentially none of the members still possessed a copy of Sister to Sleep's demo recording (A claim still supported by Frank in a 2022 interview) except possibly for a soundcheck library recording Mikey was given from the Knitting Factory show. With renewed interest in the song, Matt Pelissier was asked via Twitter about the track. ^{If community sources \}1]) ^\2]) ^{are to be believed, a Twitter user "Martin" asked Gerard the whereabouts and existing number of these demos, Gerard would share that they lost the only existing copy moving from coast to coast a number of years ago. Martin then asked Matt about the demos to corroborate Gerard's story, which prompted Matt to reveal more info.} Matt claimed he was given an additional copy of Sister to Sleep, as were all of the band members, their studio and their label. Fans supposedly questioned his demo's legitimacy. (1) (2) (3) Matt then posted three 15 second clips of the track to his Instagram. These clips were DMCA claimed by Warner and Matt was threatened with potential legal action if he continued copyright violations. However, fans downloaded these clips before they were taken down. (1) (2) Afterwards, Matt was asked via text conversations by his Revenir bandmate u/dansplayslol11 after hearing the track if he still intended on leaking it. Matt explained that he didn't intend on releasing them being content as the apparent sole owner of the demo.

Manhattan Demos ^aka A-Demos - In 2013 the band had stated in an interview Sister to Sleep's studio recording existed on the "Manhattan Demos" or "A-Demos" as Ray called them that also contained demo material later released on LOTMS. Screenshots of other production tracklists around this time have also been leaked and released by several sources including Revenge producer Howard Benson. (1) (2) (3) (4) (5) (6)

I'm Not Okay (I Promise) Demo - A 1 minute 4 second Clip of an I'm Not Okay demo uploaded by the YouTube channel AJ Serna in 2012 which contains the line "And never mind the drugs you took" instead of Revenge's release version "The photographs your boyfriend took" with notably worse recording quality. ^{This lyric was likely remnants from when the song served as the conclusion to the album with a spoken word outro by Daryl Palumbo \}Of Glassjaw, Head Automatica] and is more in-line with) ^{early production takes of the song.}
Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge Instrumentals - Instrumental versions of all 13 original Revenge tracks can be heard as backing tracks for the duration of LOTMS. Never released as a stand-alone instrumental promotional album unlike TBP.
Someone Out There Loves You - Released as a live performance on the official TBPID DVD as Track 30 with a live video. Unofficially titled 'Stay' by fans before its official title was revealed by Gerard on Twitter. Frank revealed in an interview with The Music that the song had a studio demo but "lyrical reservations" prevented its release.
MCRBlog 09' Demos - Throughout 2009, the band would post an occasional series titled 'Practice Cam' where they'd take photos and videos of whiteboards containing song titles. Fans like Cassie the Venomous were able to decipher some of these titles, and later corroborate them with at-the-time newly released live performances. (What was initially titled 'Siren Song' as a live performance eventually released as 'AMBULANCE', ect.) However, some of these teased titles never received accompanying live material. These include:

Hell Hath No Fury - This track was apparently credited to My Chemical Romance (1) (2) for 2012's The Man With The Iron Fists but never appeared on the movie's soundtrack. ^{It's theorized this track midway through the film is a snippet of the track.}
The Paper Kingdom - Proceeding DD's touring cycle, the My Chemical Romance began work on their 5th studio record before scrapping the album due to burnout, depression and unhealthy habits. (1) (2) Some of this material was likely posted by a user named Excalibur and sold for $10k+ on the leaked music website Leaked.cx in late September 2022. Snippets of these tracks with added auditory watermarks were provided by the leaker for legitimacy from tracks with the filenames "Dark Cloud", "Witch" and "Wake Up!". However, these clips were taken down by Warner both on leaked.cx and on other sites' reposts, likely validating the leak's legitimacy. One track recognized by Warner's automatic content ID system was entitled "Paper Swords" by My Chemical Romance.

The Foundations of Decay Sessions - According to comments by Excalibur made under leaked.cxs TPK leak, they also possessed demo sessions for the My Chemical Romance's 2022 release The Foundations of Decay. It was unclear whether these sessions were also purchased and vaulted alongside TPK's leak by the same or another buyer.

Lately there seemed to be a lot of questions about how to integrate frameworks like MVC into complete applications involving external services, databases and persistence services.
It's always annoyed me how much misinformation is out there about the normal GUI frameworks; MVC, MVP and MVVM. Not just out in the internet, but apparently in classrooms, too. Just a few days ago there was a question about MVC that posted on StackOverflow. The code clearly came from the prof, and it was alleged to be MVC. But there was no Model, and what little application logic was in the Controller and the Controller was acting more like a Presenter. Arrrgggg!
I think that a lot of the confusion around these frameworks is that they are learned in isolation. There's no information ever given about how to put it all together to create an actual, non-trivial, application. The big picture is missing, and it makes it hard to understand the little picture.

This article focuses on my own MVCI framework for writing Reactive JavaFX applications, but the essentials will hold whether you're using MVC or MVVM, or even if you're punishing yourself by using MVP.
To be clear, if your application is small and self-contained into on MVC framework, then you could put all of your REST calls and SQL statements in the Model and it wouldn't break the MVC framework. But it's still probably better to implement that stuff into a BrokeService layer outside your MVC framework - even if only to make testing easier.

Hello all! I’m looking for a person - or couple - to connect with. A little about me: I’m 35 and married, we date separately. I have a full time 9-5 job plus a side-project, but thankfully I get to set the deadlines and workload on that second one, so I can carve out time when I want to :) I’m into music (I have an eclectic taste that spans many genres), sci-fi (currently watching several shows at once - Fallout (with the wife so slow going), Three Body Animation (it's terrible), Fringe, rewatching the X-Files, etc), gaming (when I have time), cybersecurity, I’m just sort of an all-around nerd. Bit of anime (not in a long while but I'd love to get back into it), tinkerer (mostly with computers), etc. I have two cats and a ball python. Politically I’m left of center (by American standards, so centrist by global standards I think?). I’m 5’ 10” and currently 240 lbs. I'd like to lose weight but man sugar is just so deliciously addicting. Bald, short beard, glasses, and tattoos. I'm willing to share pictures in DMs.
As for what I’m looking for, I'm pretty open. It could be short term or long term, the connection is the big thing to me. I'm looking for someone text throughout the day, have regular date nights, get to know each other, make some good memories, have fun, enjoy some interesting conversation, all that jazz. I seem to gravitate toward "witchy" types so if you're pagan, wiccan, or any sort of general goth/fringe type person, there's a really strong chance we'll hit it off. No idea why, that just seems to be the trend. Also, for the record, I am a "kitchen table poly" type, so whenever the timing is right I'd like for you to meet my wife and I'd also like to meet your other partners just to kind of put faces to names and such. Physically speaking, I'm pretty flexible in terms of my "type." I like the term "heteroflexible" to describe my preference in appearance. I prefer feminine or andrygenous people appeareance-wise, but other than that I’m open to all body types, gender identities, ethnicities, religious beliefs (I'm agnostic, personally), etc. Sexually I also consider myself "kink-friendly." I'm not necessarily "kinky" but I'm open to a considerable number of kinks if that's your thing. This was probably obvious for a lot of people, but wasn't for me until this week, so I'm putting it out there.
I couldn't understand how some high Pit push builds were able to so cleanly collect packs of mobs for AOE attacks. But this combo works like a charm. Mobs won't aggro on you right away, so if you run ahead of your squad to find a good pack, try this combo:

1. See a pack that hasn't yet aggro'd on you.
2. Optionally Curse them to draw aggro. Not necessary, but can help collect them for the next steps.
3. Pop Blood Mist and float towards them for a second to plant a corpse via Ghastly Blood Mist.
4. Spend the rest of Blood Mist floating back towards your squad.
5. The moment Blood Mist ends (you can even end it early), hit that corpse with Corpse Tendrils.
6. If you didn't Curse them already, Curse them, and if you run it, pop AotD.

Now the Elite pack has been collected and CC'd for neat and tidy Golem AoE and/or Mage gatling guns. It solves the problem of needing Minions or Hewed Flesh-proccing skills to spawn a corpse for Tendrils, lets you put the corpse where you want it, and minimizes the time when Elites can bonk you before you've CC'd them.
The downsides include needing to run Blood Mist (which isn't really a downside; it's almost a requirement for the kinds of high Pit tiers that benefit from cheeky strats like this) and losing the Crit Chance boost from Dreadful Blood Mist. It's also harder to pull off with controller than with mouse+keyboard, since you can better pick the corpse to Tendril with a cursor. But it made a really big difference in terms of battlefield control for my high Pit runs, so I thought I'd put it out there for people (like me until recently) who missed this tip.

Also, this probably goes without saying, but this is not purely useful for Minion builds; it's just generally helpful for CCing and collecting mobs where you want them. This is just a particularly acute problem for Minion builds when the AI isn't really good.
