I was really excited to finally try Arc when it comes to windows as people seemed to love it and it always looked interesting and clean to me. Here I will write a short review of what i've noticed with using it a few days.
I won't touch so much on the subject on side tabs, Spaces, "bookmarks", these are not really issues and are definitely subjective and different, some people might like the new approach, some dont.
Here's a quick summary of my thoughts on the most notable "features" (Sidenav, Spaces, Different Logic for Bookmarks)

• I personally like the side nav, i like how easy it is to see everything and is forcing me to use my keaboard more for navigation (Ctrl+S, Ctrl+T, Ctrl+W), which i enjoy. It also looks great
• Spaces, and similar features like it in other browsers, is something that's not a part of my workflow typically. I like everything in one place and don't like unnecessary overhead. However, i see great potential in this for people who want to separate personal life and work, or multiple different works in an organized way.
• I don't use bookmarks as heavily as some people either, but it definitely feels weird having them act as tabs, maybe I could get used to it.

I just wanted to mention those obvious and biggest selling points of Arc; however, these are subjective features and changing the way people think about browsers and navigation, I don't want to talk about this atm. Each person should decide if they like what Arc has to offer when it comes to these "breaking" changes.
I also don't want to talk about any early Windows bugs, I'm sure those will be sorted out soon.
What I primarily wanted to talk about is some missing features. Sadly, at this point in time, Arc feels like a downgrade. Many features are missing or abstracted in a very weird way, and its not clear why, most of the things I'm about to talk about would not impact the "nature" of Arc, so I'm not sure why they were left out or not implemented.

1. Favourites (Quick access, or h/e you wanna call it)

When I started using Arc, considering that there is no way to customize the default home page, I was disappointed to see that theres no way for me to quickly open up some my most visited places. Then i found the Favourites, and i was pleasantly surprised, they looked clean, were accessible at all times, didn't take up too much space, perfect. That's what i thought until i was disappointed again.
The way favourites behave is just dumb, i have no other way of putting it. Its horrible and mostly unusable.
Example: Let's say I favorite Netflix. I click on it to open it, it's not gonna create a new tab, its just gonna open it in favorites. I play a movie and navigate off. There is NO WAY for me to tell that Netflix was ever even opened, that I have an entire movie playing in the background, i would have no idea where its coming from, what is playing, or anything about it, until i finally click on it to see whats going on. It's a horrible experience.
This somewhat intertwines with the way current "bookmarks" behave, except that this type of behavior is never expected from a quick-access menu. Atm these are just glorified tabs, but worse since they have no title, no indicators for being opened or playing audio, nothing.
To fix this simply make clicking on this open a new tab, I don't see how the current approach is better.

2. Titles

I can't for the life of me figure out why this is the case, but some webpage titles are overridden. Most notably I noticed Gmail, but I think i saw other cases as well.
In other browsers the title bar would show something like: Inbox(5) - [myemail@gmail.com](mailto:myemail@gmail.com)
In Arc it shows: Gmail
Just why? A very useful piece of information coming from the third party website itself is overridden for a worse user experience.

3. Multi-monitomulti-window support

For this part it might be important to notice the difference between Windows and Mac users. Correct me if I'm wrong but Mac seems typically focused on one monitor (considering the product), and the workflows for MacOS apps are built with that in mind. I'm not saying that all windows users use multiple monitors, in fact most don't, but it seems more common to have those types of customizability.
Now that Arc is on Windows the "Mac way of doing things" seems to remain, and everything feels slightly off.

• Technically you can have multiple arc windows, but the only way to make them is to drag and drop tabs. However, this creates an entirely new unnamed new space, and I'm not sure if that is what i would want.
• Creating new windows lacks the UX compared to Chrome, where you can just drag it out anywhere and it works natively the way a windows app is expected to.
• Middle-clicking the Arc icon in the taskbar doesn't do anything (should open a new window). And Right Click->New window opens the original Space with the same tabs,it feels very off and buggy, I don't see the benefit.
• Splitting is probably the closest I found to match the way I typically use a browser. However these are also not very intuitive, its hard to navigate, replace/add/close tabs, theres a weird white border, you cant split vertically

4. Settings

I couldn't wait to dive into the settings and personalize my Arc experience to fix all of these "issues" I was having. Only to find that settings pretty much don't exist. There is nothing.
(I'm not talking about chromium settings, these need to exist. But even these are impossible to find for an average user)
Here are all the available options

• Change the Theme between the two (they seem exactly the same)
• Change default search engine
• Setup when tabs are archived
• THATS IT, those 3 settings are the only ones that exist.

In such an "innovative" browser I expected intinitely more options to tweak things around. The way it currently is, if you don't like Arcs very opinionated way of doing things, you can't do anything about it. This is probably one of my biggest downsides.

5. Why?

• Opening a URL/Search window always shows "The Browser Company" youtube channel as one of the option? At least disable it when opened once, or put more rows in this menu, you remove an entire space for most recently opened places for an ad.
• Navigating off a page playing a puts a video in a small window over your other stuff. Maybe 1/20 times i watch a video I might want this to happen, the rest of the time, its a music video, podcast, something to listen to, you just navigated quickly off of it, etc. At least add an option to remove this. (As I was writing this i found a way to disable the "picture in picture", I will leave the section to show my initial thought, but im pleasantly surprised i was able to fix this and im willing to give other features a try the same way)

Conclusion

I will still be using Arc for a while to see if I can get used to some of my current pain-points and to give it a better shot, as well as wait for potential upgrades.
Let me know what you guys think and if you found a workaround for some of my issues. Or have any other benefits to Arc that i filed to notice.

Recently I was mindblown when I saw a Linux Desktop mainline environment called XFCE running on this handy little device. I know the device can be connected via HDMI to a small monitor of my liking. But I have a question (or questions).
Does the XFCE Linux Desktop running on the RG35XX H grant the ability to do ...

1. Word processing/Powerpoint (handle some sort of opensource free lightweight office suite ?)
2. Reading PDF files
3. Checking and Managing Email
4. Using a Web browser to watch YOUTUBE videos at a low res like at 480p with OK performance
5. Using a Web browser to log in to and use Reddit and do general web browsing like Wikipedia/Reading
6. Getting ok performance from Web browser while a MAX of 5 tabs open(youtube and reddit among the tabs)
7. Watching offline mp4 videos and listen to mp3 files from an SD card
8. Connecting a Webcam peripheral and conduct a Google Meets video chat call
9. Using an online AI like ChatGPT or some sort sort of similar AI bot through the browser OR a desktop app to generate TEXT and TEXT REPLIES
10. And finally ... playing classic PAC MAN within the desktop (native or emulator through the linux desktop UI)

*These aren't the heaviest computing tasks one can do. But this is all I do and this is all I NEED to do.
I'm asking in such detail because RG35XX H has ONLY 1GB of memory, so I'm sort of doubting it's ability and capabilities. So I want honest opinions of you RG35XX H boys (and girls) who have used the XFCE Linux Desktop on this device. So can these 10 tasks be run individually (NOT SIMULTANEOUSLY) without exploding (JK, I mean without causing massive lagging of) the device ? Also I'm not a big multi tasker , but if AT LEAST 2 of these 10 tasks can be done in the XFCE Linux Desktop environment simultaneously (at one given time) WITHOUT causing massive performance issues ... then I would really consider this handy little device as an extremely rudimentary and ultra portable throwaway desktop replacement for me. Do you think that this device in its XFCE desktop environment would be able to handle 2 of these listed 10 tasks simultaneously (at one given time) ?

As the title says, I passed at 100 and like so many other people have said...I had no idea if I was doing well or not. My study material were the following:

• Destination Cert -> 10/10 (main material...I used all of their material...I enjoyed the workbook +mindmap, and then use the big book/official videos if I needed to grasp the topic a little better)
  • I received a 79% on their final assessment
• Boson -> 10/10 (I enjoyed the questions and thought they provided value)
• Zapp -> I went through 600+ and never made it past a readiness score of 55
  • I received a 85% on their 40 question assessment + many quick exams

Study time: 2 weeks
Years of Experience: 10+ years
Tips

• Getting started was the hardest part for me. Once I started to get practice questions right, my drive started to sky rocket. With this being said, if you're having trouble getting started, try starting with domains you're most familiar, crush 50-100 questions from the questions above, and hopefully that starts to light a fire for you.
• I kept getting practice questions wrong because I was missing keywords or reading too fast...slow down, re-read, and make sure you understand what they are asking.
• I personally feel the practice exams were just as helpful as the actual study material... I've read people say they are useless...I couldn't disagree more.
• The exam was actually more technical than I thought it would be, don't study "too" high-level.

What's next? CISM in 10 days

I got back from a 9 hour shift today, breakfast going into lunch. Here is a list of things that have happened...

1. An old man flirted with me and asked for my number. This happened with multiple older men, a lot of which are regulars, throughout the day
   
2. A really aggressive woman threatened to beat me up after I calmly explained to her we don't do 2 for 3 McMuffins at my store anymore
   
3. A man has 10 dollars in change, and since it was rush hour and low on fives I gave him a ten dollar bill, and RIGHT as I closed the drawer he asked for the ten to be split into fives. I told him I just closed the drawer, but if he really needs it I'd have to get my manager but they're busy atm. He sped off to the second window in anger
   
4. An older man pulled up to my driv thru lane, and immediately started screaming "HELLO?! IS ANYONE THERE??". I took his order, and he said he wanted a "big breakfast, AND hotcakes and sausage". So I rang him up for a big breakfast and the pancakes with sausage meal. I told him his total and he got treated and asked why I was charging him for extra pancakes and sausage. I apologized and explained my mistake, and he got mad. He said he wanted the big breakfast WITH pancakes and sausage. I fixed it and he told me "you need to pay attention and do your job better". I replied back "maybe you should clarify yourself better"
   
5. Some dude that was clearly high on cannabis asked me for a "mocha caramel frappe with extra ice, and a sausage chicken biscuit with onions". This wasn't bad, but it was pretty funny lol
   
6. A woman asked me if a sausage McMuffin with cheese, comes with cheese
   

Let's explain the situation from the beginning. We are a group of 6 friends and little by little our friendship has deteriorated. I sent him a WhatsApp explaining that I would not take any more trips with him until his attitude changed. Now my friends are telling me to forgive him since we have a trip for the summer.
When we were 17 we always met up to get drunk and smoke. But years have passed and I'm turning 21. And I'm getting tired of this environment.
I think the turning point was when I bought my car on my own (when I was just 19 years old), I was working for months and once I bought it it was wonderful, everyone was super excited until the problems started to occur. Many responsibilities fell on me, organizing plans, taking home, always doing the shopping.
I mainly had a problem with a friend, let's call him House. House was always my closest friend and I knew him from school, in high school we hung out occasionally but when we created the group we became even closer.
We met every day and it was very cool, but I already realized that he sometimes had anger problems (once he broke the neighbor's air conditioning because they stood him up) as well as a childish attitude of always being right.
A few days before I quit a job that was exploitative and I was having a hard time, I promised House that I would pick him up and take him to a nightclub (after work) that is 4 km from his house (5 km from mine). . But I quit so I was happy to be able to drink and have a good time, until he reminded me of the "promise". By that time he had already resigned 1 week ago and we already bought the tickets 2 weeks ago. He didn't say anything to me until we were at the party and he made a passive-aggressive comment at me. I feel bad and I manipulate the rest so that they say that I had to keep my promise... Well, it's not that big of a deal but it was a wake-up call for me.
I had some friction with him, such as him falsely accusing me that he was stealing gas money from him after a trip for wanting to "overcharge him", something totally false. Or one time he got drunk and was on the beach on my birthday yelling at me and another friend to give him the bottle we were all drinking, we refused because he was 3 steps away and if he had wanted to be with us he could, Then he became aggressive and confronted me a few centimeters away, I pushed him and threatened to hit me. Afterwards we "reconciled" but I already mistrusted in a certain way because of what he had shown me.
His parents divorce, he starts drinking every day, he is dissatisfied with the studies he chose himself, no one forced him and he chose a higher degree with no way out because he was funny in front of others. He hasn't gotten his driver's license, he's not progressing in life, and so the months go by.
In my town there is a party and it is like the party that the entire region comes, including people, we are talking about tens of thousands of young people partying, well House meets us but informs us that first he should have a few beers with his friends, proceed not to be separated from them all day. The worst thing was that every time we told him to do something he followed them from one place to another like a dog, until I understood what was happening, he was with them all the time because they were taking cocaine. That disgusted me a lot since he knows that I don't like that and that if he had stayed with those friends of his I wouldn't have cared, but he had stayed with us.
A week later he organized a plan, as I always do, to go have a barbecue in the mountains, a beautiful place where House tells me that he has no money, I invite him to eat with another friend. When we arrive I see that we have forgotten the meat, so I have to call my aunt who lives 20 minutes away to go get it. I did the shopping alone, in the end I went down alone with my aunt, I bought them beer since House and another stayed upstairs drinking. When I arrive they criticize the meat I bought, I forgot to buy bread, and they criticize the coals I bought since they were very "small", in the end we cooked everything even on meat.
After 2 weeks I plan to go fishing, and that's when House openly tells me that the barbecue was "fucking shit", which seemed like very strong words to me. Mainly when they come from a person who has never driven to take me (he doesn't have a license...), I don't buy the meat, I don't cook and worse still he didn't even thank me for having invited him to eat, he has pay from his parents, they are officials. My parents are immigrants and I have earned my money by working. After that he reproaches me saying that since I am studying and he is "working", he is practicing sports. HE DOESN'T EVEN HAVE A FULL TIME!! Which is my obligation since I am freer than him, he doesn't know that lately I have been studying 9 hours a day, super stressed and bad. After that discussion, I didn't speak to him the entire trip back.
I don't want to see him, it's as if he had clicked on me * and no matter how much forgiveness he asks me and they tell me that "it was just a few words", it doesn't seem that way to me.

My boyfriend (37M)loves to go hiking and camping with his friends or alone if no one can go. I have found out that when he goes on a trips in an out of service range he downloadeds porn to watch. I don’t have an issue with him watching porn because I (30F) also watch it when he is gone. I don’t bring it up or address it because I am doing the same thing and I understand that if I’m gone for a week he still has needs and so do I. (I’ve found his stash 4 times, this is the 5th).
My issue is, he just went on a ONE night trip and I found out he downloaded about 20-25 new videos for this trip. Is this normal or is this a problem? Is that too much porn? Should I bring it up to him?
To reiterate I’m not worried about what he is watching just the quantity.
Side note we have a very healthy sex life and always have for 7 years we have sex about 4-6 times a week on average & that’s a modest estimate. Thus why I understand that he watches it when we are apart for so long. As I write this I wonder if we both have a sex addiction? I just don’t watch porn that often and when I do I don’t watch more than 1 or 2?!?! Geez I can feel myself spiraling.

So I’ll be honest, I’ve been a bit behind on the newer FNAF theories. I was always huge about the series, but once the newer books and games came out I just haven’t fully grasped some new things, but I still try to keep up to date.
I was thinking back to how in Help Wanted, they mention a rogue indie game dev and how the FNAF games were fake coverups. If that is the case, what happens to the games we play then? Are the games we’re playing (Like FNAF 1, 2, 3, 4, etc) actually happening? I always thought that when we played FNAF 1 it’s actually Mike’s perspective in Freddy’s, but if they’re just video games, wouldn’t everything we play through in the games not have happened? I feel like it really hurts the feel of the story, like the phone calls, the environments, everything was fake?
Could someone who actually knows about this try and explain it? Is everything we play through and experience in the games actually happening, or is it just fake cover up games by the Indie dev and nothing we play through actually is happening? Thank you

I have already completed two ACCA papers and am struggling with the third one. I think I am struggling with FA because of Dr and Cr. I have watched so many videos and read so many books about Dr and Cr but still I cannot understand it. I am not a stupid person. I did really well in School and especially in Physics and Mathematics (my favorite two subjects).
But this Dr and Cr is killing me. Someone shared an interesting book to me and he said it explains Dr and Cr very well with an easy to follow guideline called DEAD CLIC and all I need to do is memorize it.
But I am reading the chapter that explains DEAD CLIC and which is simple if Dr and Cr follows that rule. But the page below DEAD CLIC with more explanation to Dr and Cr states like this.

What the .... How to memorize Dr and Cr with DEAD CLIC if it is like this?

This may be a longer post, apologies I'm advance.
I 24m have been dating my partner 25f for the better part of 5 years now. We have had plenty of ups and down in that time, but I don't think I can get past the downs anymore.
We have a revolving door of issues, including lack of intimacy, lack of communication, no support etc etc. These had been manageable until last summer where she got a new job working 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off on a mine as a geologist.
She now barely ever texts while she's up there and I'll get 1 30min call ever 2 days, meaning we never fucking talk. We haven't had one spicy call since she started this job (not that I haven't tried). And I just feel so fucking ignored and neglected 24/7.
Moreover she completely stonewalls me every time we fight, adding to thr distance between us.
She also messages and sends memes with the mostly men she works with all the time, even when she is off. When I get upset and ask to keep it at work she gaslight me and tells me to get over it.
This has all gotten me to a point where I am losing any and all feelings I once had for her. There have been way more fights than I expressed mentioned, but even with that I'm just tired.
I feel no love from her, I feel like she isn't attracted to me, I feel like she doesn't care about my feelings at all, it's only about how she feels.
I just really feel like I would be happier with somebody else who doesn't make me feel this way. I'm a 6'8 in shape decently attractive guy who makes good money.. I'm not a loser.
So now onto the question.. how do I leave? I definitely have some childhood issues with this where whenever I try I like panic for some reason.. like I have a hard time letting people go from my life.
It also doesn't help that she gets self destructive the last times I tried, throwing things, hurting herself, etc...
How do I get out, how do I feel okay again? I know as soon as I leave her she will instantly start talking romantically (if she hasn't already) to one of these guys and it bothers me. How do I do this guys, why am I like this..
I feel like most of my romantic feelings have died, but this like.. attachment, I dont know how to break it.

I know this is unnecessarily long, so if you are not in the mood for reading, I understand. But I would greatly appreciate anyone who would take the time to read my story that is probably TMI and badly in need of some editing. I just really need some advice from people whose heads are less cloudy than mine.
My fiancé M/42 and I F41 have been together for about 4 years and have known each other since high school. I knew he was a recovering addict when I got together with him but I fell head over heels in love and didn’t see the relapse on the horizon that would occur shortly after the honeymoon phase and would eventually almost kill me - I took a swipe of some mystery powder and touched it to my tongue (fentanyl) thinking it would help me get through the most stressful day of my life as i was ceaning out his place while I was packing him up for detox. It was a total freak accident, I’m not an addict, never done anything like that in my life, I’m a single mom and a kindergarten teacher, but I loved him so much I just followed him down the rabbit hole and honestly just became so disoriented in this world I (naively) didn’t understand or even realize I had signed up for.
Anyway, He literally saved my life, and said I also saved his, because that day is what motivated him to get and stay clean for good despite being an active heroin addict for the majority of his life.
He worked an incredibly thorough program, and he gained more friends, money, and more overall success in 2 years than I’ve been able to scrounge up in an entire lifetime. And it’s no surprise honestly. He’s a special person. Absolutely brilliant, charismatic, driven, and has a heart of gold.
Within a year of getting sober, he moved me and my daughters into a gorgeous home adjacent to a golf course, bought luxury vehicles for both me and him, convinced me to quit my teaching job which was making me miserable, so I could finally be fully present for my girls, and then put a giant diamond ring on my left hand. He completely spoils us. We went from having nothing to having every tangible thing, we could possibly need.
The stability that he provided for us meant the world to a single mom who was barely making ends meet, but it was always just the icing on the cake for me. He’s my best friend in the world, he makes me laugh so hard my mouth hurts from smiling, he show me that he loves even the parts of myself that I don’t find lovable. I found my soulmate.
His program started slipping after 2 1/2 years (last November). He was already struggling in his role of being a stepfather, and we were fighting a lot about parenting stuff. He has a lot to learn, has little patience, and seems to have very unrealistic expectations of my kids. He wanted Parenting to be this effortless thing, and he just doesn’t get that it’s not. And that kids are not always going to behave themselves and that doesn’t mean there’s something wrong with them. so we were fighting a lot.
In December, he started complaining about his chronic back pain again (a real issue for him as he’s had five back surgeries due to a snowboarding accident in his early 20s-this was during that height of Purdue Pharma and what got him hooked on pain meds)
While I know he was legitimately in pain, it was also a red flag because pain was the culprit for his last relapse. He decided to go in for a sixth surgery and was told he would have to wait three months. He found a surgeon who has made a lot of profit off of him over the years (as he’s a PI attorney) and was willing to prescribe him generous amounts of pain pills to get him through the three months of increasing pain that he was experiencing. He spent the next three months in bed, depressed, checking out, taking pills depressed, checking out- as I became increasingly suspicious that his behavior was much too loopy for the amount of medication he was being prescribed. I fell into the role of his nurse, and his babysitter. Making sure he didn’t text to nonsense to clients, making sure he didn’t fall and make his back worse, making sure he wasn’t interacting with the kids, etc
I knew he wasn’t being honest with me, but he just kept gaslighting me. It honestly felt like he was psychologically tormenting me, treating me as though I was totally paranoid, heartless and out of line. I thought after the surgery, it would finally get better. I made a promise that I would be there for him because he had never had anyone there for him for the previous surgeries and it had been a really traumatic experience for him in the past. I really stepped up and tried so hard to his rock. The hospital experience was horrific, mainly because no amount of diloted was relieving him of the pain. None of the nurses understood why he needed so much more than everyone else, but I think his tolerance had just become so high.
After that nightmare was finally over I was really counting on things getting better, as the plan was for him to taper off the meds, live pain-free, and get back to normal. It didn’t go that way. It just kept getting worse and no matter how many times I told him that I didn’t trust him he just had an excuse for an explanation for everything. He is a master manipulator and I listened to him do it to everyone, doctors, the pharmacist he formed a “friendship” with, literally everyone.
On Mother’s Day, it got to a point where he couldn’t hide it anymore. He disappeared for the day, Ended up, passing out at a gas station and was unreachable for hours, when he finally came home, the car was all fucked up and he claims it was someone else’s fault. He went straight to his home office and I didn’t see the rest of the night until I walked in on him smoking crushed up pills. After that, he confessed everything to me, including the time that he told me not to check the mail because he had a special surprise for me to thank me for all the love and support I gave him To help him through his surgery. it turned out he had drug dealers sending him drugs in the mail. Needless to say there was no surprise for me me. Just heartbreak and betrayal. I felt like a fool.
I was still processing this the next day when , after insisting on taking a photo of me in these designer sunglasses he purchased for me out of guilt. I asked him not to take my photo, because I had tears in my eyes, but he insisted. He was napping next to me and I opened his phone to erase the photo. we’ve always had each other’s passwords, and have looked through each others photos before for various reasons, sharing photos, etc. I cannot emphasize enough how much I trust his loyalty to me when it comes to anything other than drugs.
But for some reason, all of my photos, the ones I was taking on my phone were showing up in his feed. I was so confused, so I started scrolling through deleting unflattering double chin pictures of myself when I came across that menu photos organized based on face recognition. One of them was his ex. I remember him telling me he deleted all of his photos of her the first time he told me he loved me.
I opened it and scrolled through hundreds of pictures of their happy life together. The pictures got more and more sexual, one of her with her legs spread, another another of them in the bathtub together, her kissing him while he had his hands around her neck, another screenshot of her naked in the shower with a thumbnail shot of him in the corner obviously jerking off to her on FaceTime. Because I’m a masochist I decided to take it one step further and look in his video folder. I found a There I found a thumbnail shot if a close-up of him penetrating her. I watched it and it just completely crushed whatever was left of me.
I’m normally a really passive person, and I just completely lost my mind. I reacted as though I had caught him cheating on me. I just couldn’t handle the physical evidence of such a close up shot of him being inside another woman. It’s stupid because I know, like me, he has a past. Obviously he’s been with other women. Obviously he’s been attracted to them. But it just scarred my brain, I literally haven’t even been able to eat since because I’ve been so nauseous. I know it’s ridiculous, because this is a reality I was well aware existed, but seeing it with my own eyes… I don’t know what to say. Other than that I need a lobotomy.
He says he erased all of those videos and photos from his phone, and something weird happened where all of his photos from the cloud just re-uploaded when he got a new phone. He’s not a technical person and I actually believe him because, aside from being a complete liar when it comes to drugs, he has always show me the upmost, integrity, love and loyalty. So it’s not that I don’t believe him. I just can’t get that image out of my head.
I can’t tell if this intense emotional reaction I’m having would be the same reaction anyone would have if they saw what I saw, or if I’m combining the feelings of betrayal over the gaslighting and the relapse…, the last four months of feeling completely invisible, hopeless, and like he was choosing drugs over me. My mind is like mush and I seriously can’t differentiate between these two very separate issues. I’m so confused, but that’s what gaslighting does to you. It makes you question your reality.
He said that he’s finally willing to go into detox, so at this point, I have waited this long, it would be silly not to stick around and see if he’s finally going to put an end to this. What’s getting me is that he’s still making excuses, still not seeming very remorseful, and is still so deep in self-pity that he doesn’t seem to have any awareness of how badly I’m hurting because of him. It feels like he just doesn’t care. anyone who’s ever loved an addict knows that feeling well.
I’m in Al-anon, and I’m well aware of all of the things I should be doing, focusing on myself, etc. but I’m just not doing well, and I can’t seem to find my way out of this dark hole. Anyone who has made it this far deserves some sort of a Reddit badge of honor. This was more of an autobiography than a simple question. I just wanna hear some outside input because I don’t trust my own mind right now. I’m willing to take your criticism, just please be kind. I know I’ve made mistakes, I’m just hurting so badly. I can’t seem to sort through this. Thank you so much if you took the time to read all of this and still want to respond. You have no idea how much it means to me.

Hi everyone. Not sure if this is a rant, an update, or a request for support post, but we’ll see where it goes.
I just hit 3-weeks post-op, and I’m about to enter the dreaded 3 week lull where I have no clearly measurable milestones to achieve. I’ve been fortunate enough to avoid any major recovery pit falls so far, so there are positives to reflect on. I transitioned from a splint to a boot, and my sutures are out with no apparent issues. I can shower fully on a stool. I take my foot out of the boot at night and put in a night splint. That said, my recovery protocol seems a bit conservative. I’m NWB for six weeks, before I advance to FWB by week eight. Yes, I realize that everyone’s journey is different, but my calf is a noodle and seeing posts of others walking by this point is kinda discouraging. For me, it was a 6 CM tear, FHL transfer, Haglunds removal, removal of chipped bone and speed bridge will full open surgery. I’m not even sure I could have had a more aggressive protocol even if I wanted to, so I won’t dwell on that.
1) Those of you who had longer NWB protocols, how did you handle the times in between milestones?
Like others, I’ve had some ups and downs mentally. I will say though that except for housework (moving some stuff around and taking care of the yard), I really have done everything I would have done uninjured. I’ve gone to bars, restaurants, stores, met up with friends, teleworked, worked out, and been outside plenty. Despite this, I still occasionally get down because of the loss of autonomy. Making a conscious decision to pee when I wake up at 8:30 AM instead of 7:30 AM when I have to go because it’s a hassle to get up, sucks. It’s hard to focus on the fact I’m doing social activities when I can’t do normal routine things. If I get antsy on a normal day, I’d just take a quick walk.
2) How did you stay busy and refocus when your mind just wants to think about how shitty/boring the next 3 weeks will be?
I usually love binging shows, playing video games, and generally doing self directed activities around the house (journalling writing), but for whatever reason I don’t want to do those things right now. Maybe it’s some depression, or just a normal “I want to do things I can’t” mentality, who knows. Given it seems autonomy and time appear to be my biggest enemy, I’m contemplating the Iwalk again. I was in good shape before, so I opted for the crutches and a scooter initially. The Iwalk is alot of money though for just 3 weeks (even used). Adding in time to get adjusted to it, I’m not sure if it’s worth it.
3) Those who got the iwalk, is it worth it? Bear in mind I’ll be using it only for these three weeks.
Last question, 4) What are some non medical creature comforts you used to keep busy. I’m not talking the shower stool, pillows, boots, etc. but rather things you used to pamper yourself and help time pass.
