^Got knocked off track in finishing the dual in EE/Fin when I had to drop the EE eight classes away to keep a roof over a young families head. Then I got a chance to start an MS in security after a huge cyber breach left me feeling like I need to know NIST as a former military dependent kid. Partly inspired by another poster on here who has quite the European collection, I’ve decided to post my journey as I collect pre-euro notes. I’m on a budget, so posts may be infrequent at times, and notes won’t be uncirculated, but I do have a certain quality level I want.
I’ve divided the task out by aiming to collect one note at a time from each country in ascending order, according to what Wikipedia said was “common,” then “rare,” even if this isn’t fully accurate. I also want to get the coins in a similar pattern, but I expect these to be much easier, considering there weren’t really any valuable metals in circulation in the 1990s and 2000s.
So to begin with post 1: I’m currently in Budapest, which has some wonderful coin stores. I went to a coin store that happens to have a note junk pile, and in it, I found a good quality 1000 Italian lire and 200 Greek drachma. Incredibly, when I asked the price, the salesman said he’d give them to me as a gift, along with a 100 million adópengő in bad shape that I wanted, making my first items free. I’ve gotten some reasonable deals in the past with him, too, and though he strikes me as gruff, he’s always been kind. I vastly prefer getting notes at local coin stores, and this is why.

ETH 1D Chart: ETH has bounced back from the strong support zone of $2,850-$2,950 level. Both OBD and OBF indicators have shown this range as a support zone. If you see "1" on the above chart, it's the first resistance (based on a trendline) - at $3,400-$3,500. The second big resistance is at $4,000, which was rejected in March 2024.

ETH 1-Week Chart
ETH 1W Chart: $3,400-$3,500 is the next big resistance zone in 1W candle chart. If ETH has to continue the bullish trend in weekly chart, it should close this week's candle above $3,300. Otherwise, we can expect a gradual decrease in price towards $2,400, until a positive news arrives.
Nearly a week left for May's Ethereum ETF approval deadline. Nobody knows when SEC approves (or rejects) the ETFs. There are some applications delayed to August 2024 as well.
Another factor to consider is, after the Dencun upgrade, transaction costs are reduced on Ethereum as well as Layer 2 chains that implemented ETH Blobs. Activities were moved to L2 chains, and the gas fee reduced on mainnet. This also negatively affected the network in terms of ETH burning. ETH is now burning less tokens than before, hence, it's inflationary now. Inflation is very low, but "the deflationary" term is not being used in the last 1-2 months.

So on Friday GameStop told us some things. First they said they're putting 45 million shares from their treasury on the market. Dilution, yes and the outstanding shares increase to 350 million. BUT, at around $22/share, conservatively we just got a $900 million cash infusion on top of the $1B we've been sitting on - more on that in a moment.
The second interesting tidbit was we got preliminary Q1 2024 earnings guidance. The numbers tell us some important details that forecast where things are going, including why I think GameStop Net Income can increase by 300% year-over-year.

A loss of $27-$37 million in the worst quarter of the year for retail is relatively impressive because it's 50% less than the prior year's quarterly loss of $50.5 million.
Interestingly, GameStop is projecting to have a sales decrease of $350 million when compared to the same quarter in the year prior. How can we have $350 million less sales, while the net loss decreases by 50%?
Cohen and GameStop appear laser focused at trimming expenses at an exciting rate, leading to stronger earnings.
To do this, the company is closing lower performing stores in large cities where multiple stores exist. When multiple stores exist in the same area, sales can be cannibalized between each store, and overhead (lease costs, payroll, etc.) climb lowering profits. As GameStop leases expire, stores are closed.
So far in 2024, 20 stores have closed including 4 in NJ and 4 in MA.

In fact, since the height of the pandemic, GameStop has shuttered nearly 600 retail locations.
That takes us to my clickbaity title. I think Friday's filing's together signal that GameStop will have close to $200 million in net revenue this year.
For context, we remember that GameStop's last annual earnings report showed us the company was profitable netting $63 million in net income.
And since then, GameStop has been continuing to close stores, slash costs and increase profit margins. Then there's the cash.
So we know now that GameStop has $1 Billion cash plus another likely $900 million raised from the 45 million shares sold. Let's round up to $2 Billion and do some math.
Let's assume GameStop does nothing with the $2B cash and lets it sit in the checking account earning a conservative 5% rate of interest. That results in $100 million of interest income per year. That's $25M of income per quarterly earnings report.
Interest Income + Income from Operations
If we assume that GameStop repeats their $63M gain from last year, they will get another huge 9 figure boost in interest income.
If GameStop continues to close stores, cut expenses and increase margins, we could be looking at around $200 million net income for the fiscal year. That's an Earnings Per Share of $0.57. In the last fiscal year, the EPS was $0.21 so Cohen is leading us to a nearly 300% increase in net income.
