https://preview.redd.it/ja2b7lv4p34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c22b1f25e5a77ceb54c08dc24d442b72edf65c3d

During my time sailing on the open seas, I encountered a predicament where my boat's batteries were not being charged properly. That's when I stumbled upon the Blue Sea 7621100 ml ACR Charging Relay. This ingenious device quickly solved my problem, and I couldn't be happier with the results.
The Blue Sea Charging Relay has an automatic charging system that manages the charging of two large battery banks, which was essential in my case. Additionally, it allows me to parallel my battery banks during emergency starting, providing me with that extra peace of mind while out at sea.
Another impressive feature was the 500 Ampere continuous rating, which supported my high-output alternators. This device truly proved its worth by handling the heavy-duty charging tasks with ease.
However, there was one minor issue I encountered - the dual sensing system that senses the charge on both battery banks sometimes caused a bit of confusion while troubleshooting. But overall, the pros outweighed the cons, and I wholeheartedly recommend the Blue Sea 7621100 ml ACR Charging Relay to any sailor in need of a reliable battery management solution.

🔗Alpha Wire 2844/7 Black Hook-Up Wire (24AWG, 304.8m)

https://preview.redd.it/j3j1u6c5p34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=97c62f850a237c37eb6f15a071d9d5c26620aa60
The Alpha Wire 2844/7 BK001 hook-up wire is the perfect solution for your electrical needs. It's a 24AWG stranded copper wire that's silver-coated for enhanced conductivity.
The black PTFE jacket provides an excellent insulating layer, making it durable and resistant to wear and tear. The wire is compact, with a 0.036" diameter and a thickness of just 0.006", allowing for easy installation without compromising on its strength. And with a voltage rating of 250V, you can rest easy knowing that it's perfectly designed to handle most household appliances.
I've found that not only does it work well in my daily life, but it's also quite reliable in terms of durability. Overall, this 2844/7 BK001 hook-up wire from Alpha Wire is a top-notch product that I would highly recommend to anyone in need of a reliable hook-up wire.

🔗ACR Olas Core Base Station and Mob Alarm System: MOB Alert with Ultra-Bright LED and Audible Alarm

https://preview.redd.it/wlecdi06p34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b800e5142af720f1ec92550a3f19845540f0f8d5
I recently had the chance to try out the ACR Olas Core Base Station and Mob Alarm System, and I must say, it's a game-changer for boaters. This small yet powerful device has saved me on more than one occasion. Say goodbye to those "Man Overboard" panics and hello to a reassuring safety net for your crew.
One thing that stood out to me was the base station's ability to connect with up to 15 wearable or float transmitters. It's like having a virtual lifeline for your crew, all within arm's reach. I particularly love the option to connect to the ACR Olas mobile app, which provides directional screens and essential MOB positioning prompts during recovery operations.
However, there were a few things I wish were different. For example, the device could be a bit more user-friendly, especially for people who may not be comfortable using technology. Also, I found the wearable transmitters to be a bit bulky, which might be an issue for those who want a sleeker look. But overall, the ACR Olas Core Base Station and Mob Alarm System certainly has my seal of approval.

🔗ACR HydroFix EPIRB Release Unit: Seamless Emergency Beacon Release

https://preview.redd.it/57x7v0h6p34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ff1d8c07162364b1500a9a3a63945bc6e500b675
I recently had the chance to try out the ACR Sea Shelter unit, part of the HydroFix Hydrostatic Release Unit family, and let me tell you, it truly lives up to its reputation as a reliable and user-friendly device.
One of the standout features of this unit is its compatibility with various ACR EPIRB categories. I found the installation process to be incredibly smooth, thanks to the included ACR Sea Shelter, Sea Shelter2, and Sea Shelter3 brackets. These brackets made fitting the unit onto my EPIRB a breeze.
Another great aspect of this release unit is its lack of reliance on battery, blade, or pyrotechnic device to release the beacon when an emergency occurs. The design is built for a quick, seamless, and dependable release in such situations.
However, I did notice that this product is date-stamped and must be replaced every two years from the date of installation or four years from the date of manufacture. While this might seem like a minor inconvenience, it's a good incentive to ensure your device is always up-to-date and functioning at its best.
Overall, my experience with the ACR Sea Shelter unit was very positive. The ease of installation, reliable release mechanism, and compatibility with various EPIRBs make it a valuable investment for anyone looking to ensure their safety at sea. Highly recommended!

🔗Compact, Resilient Personal Locator Beacon with Return Link Service

https://preview.redd.it/1s0iiwy6p34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e3d3dda1cc321330b708ed814e93dd4ad1c49f26
The ACR ResQLink View RLS beacon I've been using in my outdoor escapades is a remarkably compact and robust device. It's been meticulously designed, tested, and engineered to withstand even the most extreme environmental conditions. This beacon is also buoyant, which gives it an added edge in watery adventures.
One feature that really stands out is the Return Link Service (RLS) functionality. It's reassuring to know that if I ever need help, my distress message will be received, and my location detected, giving me peace of mind. The device also has a handy digital display that provides live status updates, and with no subscription needed, I don't have to worry about hidden costs.
The battery life is impressive, with a 5-year lifespan and an operational life of 28 hours. However, it's worth mentioning that the device is quite lightweight, which might affect its overall durability. But considering its excellent features and performance, I'd say the ResQLink View RLS is a top choice for anyone seeking a personal locator beacon.

🔗Raco 2844 Metallic Cast Compression Connector for EMT Conduit

https://preview.redd.it/swmbwq67p34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9406a84d6abaf3b8ae7e37fc7cd81a6515416208
The Raco 2844 Cast Uninsulated Compression, aka the Acr Electronics 2844, is a meticulously crafted conduit fitting that boasts an impressive 5.0 rating out of 16 reviews. Designed for EMT conduit, this connector offers a natural finish and robust die-cast zinc construction.
As someone who's been on the receiving end of this product, their CSA and UL listed standards left me confident with the quality of the build. The 2.19 inch overall length and 3.5 inch trade size make this connector a versatile option for your conduit fittings, while the compression connector design provides secure and concrete-tight connections. The ease of wrench installation is also a major plus, as it ensures a snug fit without any hassle.
However, I should note that this connector is non-insulated, so it may not be the best option for certain applications where insulation is a requirement. Additionally, the connector's zinc material may be subject to slight corrosion over time, which could slightly hinder its longevity. Nonetheless, the Raco 2844 Cast Uninsulated Compression is a reliable and efficient conduit fitting, perfect for those seeking a solid, wrench-installed connection in their electrical projects.

🔗Alpha Wire 2844/7 BR001 Hook-Up Wire - 24AWG, Brown, 305M Cable

https://preview.redd.it/9d5e9gk7p34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a8c7e9b72b1d040ac5bc56663d7684b3a59f0804
I've been using the Alpha Wire 2844/7 BR001 Hook-Up Wire for a while now, and it's been a game-changer in my daily life. The stranded copper, silver-coated conductor and PTFE jacket insulation make it a reliable and durable option, perfect for hooking up my electronic devices.
The 24 AWG wire gauge and 305m length have made it easy to work with, and I appreciate the flexibility it provides. The brown jacket insulation has a nice touch and is easy to spot in my messy workspace.
However, one thing I've noticed is that the voltage rating of 250V might not be suitable for all applications, so I had to double-check to make sure it was compatible with my devices.
Overall, the Alpha Wire Hook-Up Wire is a reliable and convenient solution for my electronics needs, and I highly recommend it for others looking for a high-quality wire.

🔗Weather-Resistant Audio Intercom with Hands-Free Loudspeaking

https://preview.redd.it/iwf03qx7p34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9ec4c2c0665ec78774b1e1c5f72024e2bb2066d5
Using the Alpha Communications AM612/04S in my daily life has been a breeze. The hands-free loudspeaking feature works really well, allowing me to communicate without any hassle. The weather-resistant mylar speaker is a standout feature, as it ensures the device performs optimally outdoors, withstanding various weather conditions. The self-wiping push button switches are convenient, providing hassle-free access to the intercom.
However, one downside I've encountered is the presence of plastic buttons and grille, which might not be as durable as I'd like it to be. Additionally, the decorative end caps, while visually appealing, seem a bit flimsy. I've also noticed that the slim-line surface-mount option can cause some installation challenges when mounting the device directly on the wall, despite it being easy to install overall.

🔗Violet 24AWG Alpha Wire Hook-Up

https://preview.redd.it/0qdh67g8p34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=14776e54330273e6d08353a6f1830dbd2598cc93
I was tasked with reviewing an Alpha Wire 2844/7 VI001, a Hook-Up Wire with a 24 AWG copper conductor, coated in violet PTFE insulation. I found the product both durable and visually appealing. The silver coating on the conductor gives it a professional look, while the violet insulation is easier to spot in a busy lab or workshop.
However, I did notice a minor downside. Connecting and disconnecting the wire from its terminals can sometimes be a bit tricky due to the conductor's small size. Despite this minor inconvenience, the wire held up well in my daily use, and I'd recommend it for anyone seeking a reliable and attractive hook-up wire solution in their electrical projects.

🔗15A Rackmount Power Sequencer with 9 Outlets - ETL Listed, EMI/RFI Filtering, and Dual Activation Delay

https://preview.redd.it/bxeintk8p34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fcf3d45eac75a7bbb9559d105613e3e3bca93def
I recently had the chance to try out Lowell ACR-SEQ4-1509 15A Rackmount Power Sequencer, and I have to say, it made quite an impact in my daily life. The first thing that caught my eye was its compact design. It fits easily into any standard rack, and its steel chassis feels sturdy and reliable.
What stood out the most for me was the sequencer's ability to control the power flow to my devices. The front rocker switch effortlessly activated and deactivated the "switched" outlets in the back. The adjustable delay of 0.5 to 10 seconds between each step allowed me to tailor the power sequence to my specific needs.
But, the highlight of this product for me has to be the LED status indicators. They are color-coded and make it incredibly easy to understand the status of each powered device. The addition of the optional momentary remote switches is also a nice touch for those who require hands-free control.
The only downside I found was the lack of an on/off switch. While not a deal-breaker for me, it may be something others consider when purchasing this power sequencer.
Overall, Lowell ACR-SEQ4-1509 15A Rackmount Power Sequencer is a handy tool that makes managing my power connections a breeze. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to streamline their power distribution.

🔗ACR ResQLink 400 Survival Kit with GPS and Distress Signal

🔗Reliable, LED Distress Flare for Safe Navigation

https://preview.redd.it/dj7r48cap34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8472af3a5a158a87bf8b096aa88139eea0c97757
As a boater, I've always been wary of traditional pyrotechnic flares for safety reasons. That's why, when I came across the ACR ResQFlare Electronic Distress Flare & Flag, I knew I had to give it a try. This innovative device has been designed to provide a safer, more reliable alternative to traditional pyrotechnic flares and can even be carried in lieu of them.
What stood out the most was the 360-degree visibility from over six miles away. Not only did it provide excellent visibility during emergencies, but it also had a significantly longer burn time than traditional flares. Its lightweight, compact size, and floatability made it incredibly easy to use – all while being fungus, corrosion, and water-resistant.
The ACR ResQFlare also comes with a distress flag, which, when carried together, qualifies as a replacement for traditional pyrotechnic flares. It's a perfect addition to any ditch bag, especially considering that it doesn't go out of date, saving me time and avoids the hassle of replacement.
One downside I faced was the lack of a lanyard attached to the device. While it floats upright in water, there are better options available that might be more visible in daylight compared to the ACR ResQFlare. However, as a safety device, the ACR ResQFlare still gets the job done without the risk of fire or injury.
In conclusion, the ACR ResQFlare Electronic Distress Flare & Flag is a great addition to any boater's safety arsenal. It's easy to use, safe, and provides excellent visibility during emergencies. Its longevity and added convenience make it a worthy choice as a replacement for traditional pyrotechnic flares.

During my time using this gas block, I found the process of fine-tuning my rifle incredibly smooth and intuitive. The ease of use allowed me to easily achieve the desired level of pressure from the gas tube, resulting in a significantly smoother cycling and improved accuracy.
One small drawback I noted was that the gas block seemed to be slightly larger than expected, making it difficult to install in my handguard. However, this minor inconvenience was overshadowed by the ease of use and the significant performance improvements I experienced after tuning my rifle.
Overall, the Odin Works Tunable Low-Profile Gas Block is a reliable and effective accessory designed to enhance the performance of your rifle. Its user-friendly features and sleek design make it a standout choice for even the most discerning rifle enthusiasts.

🔗Ballistic Low Profile .936" Gas Block for AR15, Black Melonite Finish

https://preview.redd.it/obuw7f7dj34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f6b18b96d378f1d9d557a3086040c87b184a417d

I've been using the Ballistic Lo-Pro Gas Block for quite some time now, and I must say, it's been quite the experience. As an avid shooter, I've always been on the lookout for gas blocks that can handle the 243 Ar barrel and this one sure fits the bill.
The first thing that stood out to me was its low profile design, which makes it a great fit for most AR15s. I've often found myself in situations where a high-profile gas block gets in the way, but with Ballistic, that's never an issue.
But what I loved the most about this gas block is its durable Melonite finish. It's not just for looks, either. This finish has been helping me maintain the gas block's performance even after weeks of harsh use.
However, there's one thing that didn't quite meet my expectations. I've noticed that sometimes, the screws may need to be tightened further to prevent any wobbling. It's nothing a little extra patience can't fix, but it's a minor inconvenience nonetheless.
All in all, the Ballistic Lo-Pro Gas Block has been a solid addition to my AR15. Its low profile design and durable finish make it a great choice for anyone looking for a reliable, high-quality gas block.

As a beverage enthusiast, I was recently in search of a reliable CO2 cylinder for my home bar setup. That's when I came across this recertified 15 lb steel CO2 cylinder. The sturdy, used steel construction caught my eye, and its competitive pricing was certainly a bonus.
During my first use, it was clear that the cylinder had been tested and refinished to ensure a long life and performance. The grey, rust-resistant paint finish added not only an aesthetic appeal but also peace of mind in terms of its durability. Of course, there was a CO2 CGA320 valve installed, which made connectivity and usage an easy, hassle-free task.
However, my experience with this cylinder wasn't without its drawbacks. I noticed slight variations in dimensions when compared to other cylinders. It was also disappointing to find out that the hydro test hadn't been done within the recommended time frame. Nonetheless, the cylinder still seemed to work effectively.
Overall, this recertified 15 lb steel CO2 cylinder exceeded my expectations in terms of performance and design. While it did have certain drawbacks, it served as a reliable and affordable source of CO2 that I could count on for my beverages, hydroponics, and even aquariums.

In my experience, the Hobart Argon/CO2 Shielding Gas Cylinder was a small yet mighty option for my MIG welding needs. The 20 cu.
ft. cylinder was easy to handle and transport, making it perfect for my portable rig.
The gas itself performed well, providing excellent shielding and clean weld appearance. However, one downside I encountered was the difficulty in finding a place to refill the cylinder.
It seemed that not all welding supply stores offered refills, which was a bit inconvenient for me. Nevertheless, the Argon/CO2 Shielding Gas Cylinder served as a reliable backup for my main tank, and the small size made it a great choice for quick projects or when on the go.

Although it comes with a rather unimpressive packaging, I was happy to find the handguard undamaged and ready to use. 2024.06.02 07:36 evergreen_soul4 Found an old journal entry from after I left her... What a good reminder of why I did

i wrote this over two years after i left. it's been many more years since then, and i still feel this way. it doesnt hit me as hard anymore, but reading this reminding me of how hard it used to hit. i learned so much from this horrible relationship. i hope some of you can relate and know that time makes it all feel a bit lighter.
"questions for someone who doesn't exist"
do you ever get tired of carrying guilt around? along with all of that other heavy shit you refuse to put down and walk away from? because when i run out of reasons to still hate you, and remember all of the reasons i loved you... i force myself to put the blame on myself.
i remember how i'd smoke your cigarettes as an attempt to kill myself first because forever with you sounded like hell. all the tense afternoons, shellshock mornings, nights that can't be spoken of... how we'd start each day off on the right foot, how we both swore we were doing our best. how i left, because yours wasn't good enough. how you made me do the one thing that you made me swear i'd never do.
i wonder if you look back and try to fix the conversations or if you steamroll every memory with hair bleach and people you meet online. i feel guilty even writing this. and for thinking of you poorly, and for thinking of you at all. i feel like you should cease to exist from my brain. but its all still there, all of it. the love, resentment, fear, hope for friendship. i feel ridiculous even saying that, there's no reason to be friends. i guess im just craving a version of you that never existed.
but you....... do you carry guilt? do you wonder how our tragedy of a story left me? do you wonder if i wonder about you? does any of that even matter? does any of that change reality? do i wish someone could notarize my memory? yes. do i drive myself insane from time to time being angry, delusional, and confused about our relationship? yes. do i need to stop writing about you? i dont know. it's the only way for me to externalize all of this. no one knows what happened except me.
sending love to you always anyway... unless that's the trauma talking idk.

2024.06.02 07:36 mamallamadramaa started at 11 now 19. how do i stop when i don’t know how to live without smoking??

i first tried vaping when i was 11; quickly progressed into a vaping addiction from 15-18 then when i arrived at college i started smoking cigarettes. i go to liberal arts school where about 80% of the people i know smoke and it’s a huge social thing. i never really thought i was addicted but i am now visiting my friend who doesn’t smoke at all and realizing that this really isn’t normal. when i’m alone and especially walking around i find myself smoking five or six a day; when i’m with people i can go through a pack in a night easily. i have also struggled with weed dependency since i was fifteen; smoked pretty much every day since then. for a long time i really did believe that i could stop whenever i wanted, especially since i’ve never been much of a drinker and weirdly enough i’ve met a lot of people through sharing a cigarette. but i’m getting to a point where i really do worry about leading a life without smoking.
i do sometimes feel that cigarettes are a replacement for weed; at least when i smoke cigs i can get the itch scratched without being a zombie for the rest of the day. replacing joints with cigarettes has helped me reduce my weed intake a lot but there is nothing else that is good about smoking them! i worry about the smell and recently have developed the most disgusting cough and even when i don’t smoke it’s still there.
i wish that i could quit both but i know myself well enough that if i try to go cold turkey on weed and nicotine it’ll end up manifesting in some other ugly way and i am incredibly scared of becoming an alcoholic considering the addictive genes in my family.
there is obviously a lot of information about quitting on the internet but i haven’t found any advice for people like me who have pretty much been smoking since developing consciousness. i don’t remember much of my childhood so it is hard to imagine life without that vice.
i know that the weed problem goes hand in hand but i don’t think i can do it quite yet. i haven’t had a day without substance in years at this point and i am starting to get scared that i’m too far gone. i don’t want to be a slave to this shit for the rest of my life but at this point it has become so integral to my existence.
no specific question but how do i deal with this? anyone else have a similar experience? just looking for people who can understand i guess :/
also so much respect to the people on here who have quit successfully. rooting for you :)

2024.06.02 07:04 failingartclass Kicked a customer out.

This heavy set lady comes in all the time on third shift asking us to run around the store and grab items for her because ‘she has bad knees.’ She never ends up buying anything and I spend 30-40 minutes being the butt of her passive aggressive commentary while I am the one doing HER a favor.
Last time she came in she was slamming on the ATM screaming about it not giving her cash when she just hadn’t put in her PIN number. So fair to say I’m pretty fucking over it with her.
I’m alone tonight, 10p-8a, it’s tag night, I have a ton to do, and there’s probably five other customers in the store walking around and shopping.
She comes in, gets her pack of cigarettes, and then asks me to go and check what is all on sale for her since she doesn’t have the app, I told her I was busy helping my next customer but that the deal of the week sign was posted in the atrium, she looks at me deadpan while I’m trying to check out my next customer and says “you can’t just run over and check really fast?”
I tell her again “I apologize but you can feel free to take your time walking over there if your knees are bothering you.” She had a cart to prop herself up on so it wasn’t like I was saying “alright get the hell out of here lady!”
She then leans on the counter and looks at me with the most vile expression and says “I hope someone HURTS you tonight.”
Okay. That’s it. “Get out.” I tell her. She starts arguing back and pretends she didn’t hear me. “ARE YOU A MANAGER?!” She yells at me, “YES. And I’m telling you to leave or I will be calling the police if you do not start walking out of that door.”
She stands in the door for a while trying to argue back while I’m just shouting at her to leave. Finally she says “I’ll be calling YOUR boss.” And walks out.
What happens now?

2024.06.02 06:39 mwilliams840 Dale and his cigarettes

What kind of cigarette do you think in real life would be the kind Dale smokes? I don’t picture him having literally a cool menthol, like a Camel Crush, nor something light, like Marlboro Silver. Our dude’s cigarette probably hits and tastes like Marlboro Red (cowboy killers). Haven’t completed the series yet, so sorry if this has been answered before in the very slim to none chance that happens. And I do think I should say, for those ever curious what a cig tastes like or how it feels? DO NOT DO IT! It is really not worth it. I’d give anything to go back in time. I did it to look cool with friends while I was in the Air Force, now it’s something I need. Thank f*cking God for nicotine pouches.

2024.06.02 05:52 brightspot3 Searching for roommate!!

Hello! I am looking for one or two people to rent a house with in the Visalia or Dinuba area, beginning around middle/late July. I am a 24-year-old queer woman and am ideally looking for people around the same gender and age. I moved to the area about a year ago after graduating from college and don't know many people in Visalia! I have been living on my own but really can't afford that any more!
I am clean, tidy, responsible and respectful and am looking for someone who is the same and takes good care of their living space! LGBTQ+ safe. Preferrably no pets. I have household furniture and would like to keep it, and keep it nice. Preferrably no smoking, especially cigarettes.
I have a full-time job, but do not make the typical 3x rent requirement, so I am looking for someone to sign a lease with who is responsible and trustworthy. My budget for rent/utilities split is $800-1,000. I prefer updated, clean living spaces and so am generally willing to pay a bit more when things are nicer. My roommate philosophy is that we don't have to be friends but we do need to get along well! Please reach out if you are also looking for a roommate and think we would make a good match.

2024.06.02 05:48 Worried-Ship7373 NDA KE KISSE

It was 9.00 a.m. The morning was crisp and the atmosphere businesslike that July, on the platform of the Poona railway station. It had rained all night, and the station building appeared as though it had been washed clean, its exterior cleared of the accumulated cobwebs, soot and dust. Puddles of water had collected in a few places where leaks had sprung up in the roof.
Tea vendors jostled newspaper hawkers, toy sellers elbowed fruit vendors, and all around was a melee of human limbs. Snack-laden trolleys occupied centre stage, thronged by hungry voices clamouring for breakfast. A cacophony of confused voices, punctuated by the rumble of passing trains, assaulted the eardrums. Trains passed through the platforms, spewing out weary passengers even as fresh hordes of people jumped into them, enthusiastic and cheerful. Hours later they would emerge, tired and dishevelled, at their destination. The fetid air, thick with the smell of urine, stale food, cigarettes, perspiration, and dirt, circulated in the freshness of the morning.
Like a giant caterpillar, another train weaved its way on to the track, abutting on platform number one, and disgorged, along with other passengers, a load of about a dozen boys from its entrails – all of them gangly teenagers, about sixteen to seventeen years of age. Their eyes shining with enthusiasm, the stance upright, their restless limbs bursting with energy, these travellers were different. They were not like the tired, perspiring, and dishevelled lot of humanity who flitted around the platform. The youthful energy of the boys flooded the platform, purging the murky atmosphere around it.
I was one of them. I glanced at the motley collection of passengers spread around platform number one. Some of them were walking about, stretching their limbs; some brushing their teeth near the water taps, gargling and spitting loudly. A few were purchasing breakfast from the vendors, and eating them from the plates fashioned out of leaves. The tea stall did brisk business, as did the newspaper hawker. Nervously, I fingered the neatly folded letter lying in my pocket. We would be met at the station, it stated. Looking around, I spotted a kiosk marked ‘Reception Centre’, on one side of the platform, and made my way towards it.
My heart was suffused with pride as I saw the letters ‘NDA’ stamped on the banner above the counter. Smart-looking men uniformed in the three colours of army, air force, and navy, bustled around the stall. They were stationed there to help the newcomers, and direct them to the Academy. Cautiously, I looked around. A couple of other boys, weighed down by their signature black tin trunks, were moving uncertainly towards the counter. At the last count, there were about ten of us walking towards it.
Easy, chap, easy! I admonished my fast-beating heart, and strode decisively to the reception centre. My hands felt clammy with nervousness as I approached the reception committee. What do I tell them? I wondered. The opening line, stupid, think of a good and smart opening line! whispered my inner voice. Hi, I have been selected to join the NDA, I mumbled to myself. Not a good line. Should I begin with a greeting? Something like, Hi, I am Nikhil Dutta! The palms felt clammier. By now, my lungs were full of unexpelled air. I was hyperventilating.
I need not have bothered. The other boys had already lined up before the counter by now. No one paid attention as I joined the lot. A couple of girls passed by, throwing smiles our way, smiles that brightened my day. My nervousness dissipated a bit, and the cloud lifted from my mind. Too preoccupied to grin back at the girls, I smiled timidly at the boy standing next to me. The smirk he returned was equally uncertain, but a silent bond sprung up between the two of us, linking our predicament. More boys emerging from a multitude of trains joined us aftera while.
As soon as about twenty-five of us had gathered at the reception centre, we were led to a bus earmarked for our destination. The baggage, as instructed in the letter, was identical – a black metal trunk with our names painted on it, and a bedding-holder. The other items such as airbags and water bottles, were optional. These were loaded on an army truck. We headed for the National Defence Academy, Khadakvasala, about twenty kilometres away from the railway station..... continued in part 2

2024.06.02 05:33 Ok-Significance-1752 This is the Prologue for another Gate Fanfic I'll be working on that ill post to the subreddit. Gate: Thus, Humanity didn't die in the dark. Prologue: The Gate a Rift between realities.

Ganzir. July 8th. 2020.
Director of the GOC Miss Al Fine, The Engineer (Leader of the Choas insurgency), and GOI-004A or better known as Robert Bumaro (Leader of the Church of the broken god) "So... Current status of thr east gate of the city." Al Fine asked the engineer. "Our insurgents have held fine miss Fine" he said using her name as a pun. She snickered in an amused fashion. "Now to our correct discussion. Based on what we've seen gentlemen it has become clear that while we sit safe and sound in Ganzir the world is currently going to shit" she said bluntly.
"Thats one way of putting it" said Robert Bumaro metallically sighing "based on our currently reports Russia has fallen and the Choas insurgents currently not in Ganzir are toppling African governments making the situation worst." She sighed. "Aren't you supposed to be in charge of the insurgency Mister Engineer" she said. "I may have control over our Insurgents currently in Ganzir but I've lost all contact with the insurgents outside of Africa so I can’t tell them to stop their madness. "Nothing new coming from your kind" Chuckled Robert Bumaro metallically. The engineer shot Robert a glare before calming himself down.
"Look Ganzir won't last forever. Yes, half of this city was created by God himself or some kind of God, but we don't have infinite food or water. Our replicators, which I hope each of your twos respective personnel are handling properly cant replicate organic matter and our food reserves will only last the city for 10 years given the cities current population." Fine said. "We are going to-" She gets cut off by the Engineer. "We are going to pull a Serpents hand aren't we" he said with a disappointed look on his face. "Yes and no." She responded. "While we will try to get into another reality or dimension to escape this mess the GOC will be staying behind the hold the fort as we get the civilians out of here. The Serpent's Hand were cowards and only thought about their lives not the lives of civilians that's why they left straight up and didn't decide to try to get as many people as they could into the wander's library. The United Nations Global Occult Coalition on the other hand like I said will stay behind." she said firmly.
“And what about you." asked Robert. "I will be staying behind as well it would be a shame for my men to miss out on living" she said joking grimly. "The Insurgency will stand by you then. We will give the foundation shit heads-" The engineer says before he gets cut off. "The Insurgency will not fight side by side with the UNGOC you will protect the civilians and be with them when Ganzir is evacuated somehow." She spoke. "But" He gets cut off again. "No buts. We have no idea what fucked up or beautiful reality or dimension our civilians will be walking into when shit hits the fan, and we evacuate. The insurgency and the Church for a matter-of-fact job is to protect the civilians from whatever awaits them in the realities or dimensions we may create a rift too. Is that clear." She says firmly. "yes" The engineer sighs as he says yes but Robert says it with a clear level of understanding.
"Look ever since it began our 3 organizations united to defend humanity one last time. Once you're on the other side... Please don't go back to your old ways we need your organizations as they are now to face whatever awaits humanity on the other side." Fine says this in almost a begging tone. "Look for as long as our 3 organizations have existed, we've hated each other but with the foundation looming over us we need to do what we can to preserve human life. The GOC leader has a point." Says Robert. "Let's not let Her and her organizations sacrifice be in vain." The Engineer raised his hand in protest but then stopped. "Fine but we will need some GOC personnel to come with us since your organization knows how to handle Anomalous weapons way better than the Church and my group and I don't want any freak accidents happening while we evacuate." Fine thinks for a moment before saying. "Sounds good. Meeting dismissed." The 3 respective leaders walk out of the room as they head to talk with the brightest members of each of their respective groups for the grand undertaking that is about to happen.
Ganzir. July 12th. 2020.
"So, this is it huh." says Monroe under his gas mask. Manroe stared at the Gate in awe never in any of his years in the Insurgency had he seen anything like it. His sightseeing was soon interrupted. "Don't think about weaponizing that shit" Jokes Phillip as he puts on his helmet with the GOC logo painted on it. "Oh, come on we both know if there are any anomalies on the other side of that gate you Gocks (Nickname for the GOC) are gonna to nuke the shit out of that other world." Jokes Monroe back.
"Look the foundation contains, you guys try to weaponize, and the serpents are all about befriending those fucking anomalies. Just put a bullet in its head and get it over with. Far cheaper solution in my book" Phillip says chuckling. "It's a fucking miracle we get along.” says Monroe sighing. "Hey, we can thank the Foundies (GOC nickname for foundation personnel) for that" Phillips jokes as he smokes a cigarette. "Ever seen the photos of Churchill with him smoking that big cigar." Phillips continues. "Yes why" Manroe asked. "I'm going to get one if those and pose on the walls of Ganzir while smoking and you take a photo as well." Phillips said. "You're asking to get hit by a Foundie sniper" Manroe sighed. "Well yes and no. Remember we got the big forcefield that looks like something out of Star Wars around the city so the Foundies ain't doing shit." Phillps said grinning. "Point taken." said Manroe.
"So, you think you're going to be one of the lucky few" said Manroe to Phillips. "Look whether I am or not I don't care I lived my life to its fullest serving the Coalition and have no regrets. Whether I'm one of the few of my organization to be allowed to cross over into the gate doesn't matter to me much." Phillip said smiling. "Well, you better at least get laid before you die" He joked
Authors note: I post the trailer for this earlier I hope you guys enjoyed it.

2024.06.02 04:25 anongirl521 Possible retaliation from Landlord

Hi so this is a long story so apologies in advance. I’m going to try to give as many details as possible but still keep it as anonymous as possible since this may result in a law suit. So for some background we live in an apartment complex it’s on the smaller size and the parking lot is in an L shape and can fit around 75 cars. I have a car and so does my boyfriend which we stated prior to moving in and gave both of our license plates for their records. For context: We have had previous issues with the landlord/landlord company (never filed for some things but we were lied too about certain things prior to moving in, all that was recorded as well, because you can hear the person who showed the apartment to us on video tell us certain things all with his consent as he knew we were recording. For example that you couldn’t hear your neighbors on either side or down below since we are on the top floor and that the apartment wouldn’t reek like cigarettes by having the windows open cause other tenants violate the rental agreement and smoke in there apartments.) We have had to make a few calls because the guy who lives underneath us has put his hands on his wife and Or girlfriend (we aren’t sure) and a few others neighbors have called the cops as well. The first time that we called because we heard her screaming and him throwing glass (we had already called police) they basically told us that they couldn’t do anything and couldn’t evict him or intervene ???? The second time we called to try and lodge a noise complaint which we were hoping would actually get them to take action and we took video this time (she was screaming for help and our neighbor texted us that she already called the police) she basically told us if we called again it would be a negative mark against us as tenants. That leads us to today, I work from home so there are times that I don’t use my car often maybe once or twice every other week. The car also has battery problems so it’s a pain to drive and was planning on selling it. My boyfriends car is newer and he usually drives us places. I usually park in the same spot if I do use my car. I came home today (Saturday 10am) after walking to get a haircut that was down the street and when I came home there was a giant bright orange sticker (it took up a good portion of my back window) on the back of my car saying I had to move it by Monday 7am or it is to be towed. There was no case number and I called local police and they confirmed that they didn’t do it. This is where it’s hilarious it says if you have any questions to call them… the office opens at 9am on Monday so there’s no way to contact them through phone, or email before my time would run out to move the car. Tried to start my car to move it and bring it somewhere else and bam battery issue. I’m basically in tears at this point and a few neighbors are standing outside some smoking and some staring through their apartment windows. As I was getting out of the car I saw some were pointing and laughing at me. Some shit straight out of a movie. I ran inside sobbing due to the embarrassment I felt and it took some time to calm down. Not needed but I had just found out this morning my grandmother was in the icu while walking home after the haircut so it was an awful day. Even as I’m typing this now I’m still shaking. After some calming down and my boyfriend trying to help I tried to figure out what to do luckily I had AAA due to previous car issues and my boyfriends wonderful family let me tow the car to their house. The tow truck driver was amazing and urged me to seek legal help as he was baffled they would do this and covered the sticker as he was towing to take away some of the embarrassment I felt as people were watching from their window. On our lease when it comes to cars it says if they deem appropriate to tow they will reach out either through email or a phone call which never happened. We have never missed a rent payment and we keep the noise level low and never had neighbors complain about us, we don’t smoke and rarely have visitors, if we do they aren’t there longer then 3-4 hours during the day. I apologize for the long post but I’m not sure what to do and I don’t want to live here anymore and don’t want to go outside due to the embarrassment of a good portion our neighbors seeing what happened and making fun of the situation. Also they have signs saying 24 hour surveillance but the cameras broke and we’re taken down and never replaced 2 years ago. (Yes we have called and asked and the office told us they don’t have cameras) My car is older but it’s in good shape no dents or chipped paint and still looks brand new so I don’t think it’s an issue to do with old junk cars muddying the lot which there are some worse I.e. misusing tires or taped with cut tape and they never received a sticker of warning to tow. Please help on what the best decision to do here is.

2024.06.02 04:20 spirytas AIO because my job is getting more and more taxing and I feel like I don't have many options?

Hey all, I am posting here for the first time because I honestly just want some outside opinions on what is going on in my life and would just love any information or help someone can give me.
So, for some context, I (23m) have been working for this car parts company for the better total of 1 year and 2 months. Recently, as in the last 4 months of this year, my General manager has changed from one person to another due to some higher stuff above me, I don't know much about what happened but it did happen and I was in the loop, I felt like I was respected by this new GM and honestly felt like I was going to start growing a bit bigger in this company. So a few months pass, we are having issues with employee retention, we have gone through about 10 employee's in 3 months. All because they either don't wanna continue working with the company or They found something better or something else happens, however, because of this I have been needing to step up far more than I normally should, I work as a Part-time hire, meaning that I should only be working at maximum 30 hours a week, however, because of the lack of employee's I have been pumped up to working almost 40 hours every week. As a part of being a Part-timer, I get 2 designated days off a week. However, over the last 2 months I have consistently either gotten only 1 day off, or I have gotten nothing. Never in the last 2 months have I gotten the 2 days that I requested off since everything has been happening. Recently, my boss has been getting on me more and more saying that I 'have fallen from where I was and need to do some training to get back to where I used to be' yet, I haven't fallen at all! I consistently get at least 1k in transactions done a day, I stock the shelves, I complete cycle counts, when I am doing the night shift I am always the only fucking person who mops the floor, I run the front of the house entirely by my self at times because either my 'manager' is off doing something else, or is sitting in the back office or outside smoking a cigarette. I have been for the last 2 months asking to move up yet time and time again I am told that I need to 'make changes' and 'show my efforts' to get this, yet they hire new employee's giving them the position I am asking for and continue to say 'keep trying and doing what the higher position needs to do if you want that position.' Especially with tonight when I found out that I am scheduled for tomorrow morning and yet my online schedule hasn't shown this change. I was under the impression that I wasn't going to need to come in so seeing that I am scheduled kind of upset me since NO ONE told me that this was happening. On top of that when confronted, my boss said and I quote, 'You have to look at the schedule. It's been said many times to look all the time.' like I am supposed to read their mind and know 'a change to the schedule has been made' especially when the schedule is either moved or someone has put it somewhere that I don't know where to find it.
Either way, my ask is that I wanna know if I am overreacting in thinking that I honestly am not going to be moving any higher in the job and should just leave while I can because if I am not careful I can end up hurting myself while working here. I'd also just love and advice when it comes to finding a new job at the moment because I know of the many different 'job scams' and 'false hires' that are out there. I don't know what I can do at the moment and am just scared, especially with my Partner moving in with me soon. Thank you for your time and thanks for reading my post.

2024.06.02 03:46 bot692021 Sunrise Express Twin Room Guide - Osaka to Tokyo May 2024

This is a in-dept guide for those who are hoping to experience the Sunrise Express. This will be broken down into five main sections: booking your tickets, getting the tickets, getting to the train, aboard the train, and exiting the train/station. Please note that this is all anecdotal so YMMW
Booking Your Tickets:
TLDR: Book 1 month in advance the moment tickets become available, pre-fill the information on the site so that you can hit search the moment 10:00am JST rolls around, and select 1 passenger as the number of passengers regardless of being a party of 1 or 2.
There is an English version of the JR west website where you can book your tickets if you cannot read Japanese. While the English version of the site does not explicitly point this out, there are two types of rooms on the Sunrise Express that can sleep two people. There is the Single Twin room and the Twin room. The Single Twin room is in a bunk bed configuration and has less space whereas the Twin room has the beds side by side and there is more space. These rooms tend to sell out extremely quickly, within 3 minutes of release for purchase, as you are competing with people others who are trying to book them online and JR staff helping people book in person. Reservation for tickets open 1 month in advance at 10:00am JST and that's when you'll need to make the reservation if you want to get yourself any type of twin rooms. I've seen other posts online stating that you have a better chance of booking the twin style rooms at a station in person, but that wasn't an option for me so I can't confirm nor deny that will increase your odd of getting yourself a twin style room.
When it comes to the actual booking, be sure to double check details of your route to ensure that the stations you select are applicable. For example, the train stops at Osaka station when the train is headed for Tokyo, but skips Osaka station when the train is leaving from Tokyo. To book the train, I suggest having multiple tabs open with the necessary information on the site prefilled such that you can click on search button the moment 10:00am JST comes around. Also, you should have your credit card handy so that you're ready to pay assuming you're able to get a room. Since you're likely travelling with another person when booking a twin style room, both you and your travelling companion should do this to further increase your odds of booking the room. Booking the twin room (beds are side by side) is a bit easier since you can pre-select the train and twin as the room type. However, if you'd like book the single twin room (bunk bed configuration) you can pre-select just the train. After 10:00am JST and hitting search, you will then select "Sleeper Car B". For more details on a break down of how to book the different room types, take a look at the post by u/NightHawkCanada here. The next portion will focus on booking the twin room. Unfortunately I don't have any experience booking the single twin room so I won't be able to comment on that.
With the information pre-filled, click on search at 10:00am JST. You'll be brought to a page asking you to select a smoking or non-smoking room. Even though I don't smoke, I selected the smoking room as that was the only option available. I was concerned about the room potentially smelling like cigarettes, but at least for the twin room I rode in, it was a non-issue. Once you've selected a room, you will be asked for the number of passengers. Even though there were 2 of us who were going to be sleeping the room, my understanding is that you're supposed to put 1 as the number of passengers. According to the Google translated version of the Japanese version of the site:
As the price is set per room, please select "1 adult" for the number of guests whether you are booking for 1 or 2 people (including children)
If anyone has had success with reserving a twin room when putting 2 as the number of passengers, please let us all know. After putting in the number of passengers, you'll need to fill out your name, email, a 4 digit confirmation pin that you'll later use, and your credit card information. Make sure you use a credit card that you plan to bring with you when you will be riding the Sunrise Express and that you DO NOT lose your confirmation pin. You'll be asked to confirm your information and assuming all goes well you will receive an email from [westjr@jr-odekake.net](mailto:westjr@jr-odekake.net) confirming that your reservation is complete. I was charged 21,320 yen for the room and 8,910 yen for 1 basic fare ticket for a trip from Osaka to Tokyo.
Getting the Tickets:
TLDR: Get your reserved tickets from a green vending machine using your credit card and confirmation pin. Buy another basic fare ticket if you are party of 2 and only received 1 basic fare ticket from the vending machine.
You're able to receive tickets from a ticket vending machine or a station attendant right after you reserve them; you don't have to wait till the date that you'll board the train to get your ticket. Please note that you are only able to receive your tickets during certain times of day as station booths with attendants and vending machines are not 24/7. For more information on when tickets can be received by station, check the JR West website here. To get my tickets, I used one of the green vending machines, inserted the credit card I used to pay for the ticket online with and supplied the 4 digit confirmation pin. For a step by step guide with pictures on how to use the green vending machine to receive your tickets, follow the link here. Assuming you want to get receipt you will end up with four slips of green paper. They will be your ticket for the room,1 basic fare ticket, and your 2 receipts for the 2 tickets.
As you may have noticed, I said that I got 1 basic fare ticket from the vending machine even though there are going to be 2 people sleeping in the twin room. At the time, I was also a bit suspicious of it asked the information booth about it and they said it was okay even though there were 2 us and only had 1 basic fare ticket. However, due to the language barrier there was likely some miscommunication and I would later confirm my suspicions that for 2 people you would need 2 basic fare ticket. Assuming you are a party of 2, you will need to purchase another basic fare ticket that matches the one you just got from the vending machine i.e if you got a basic fare ticket for Osaka station to Tokyo station from the vending machine, buy another one. Before you board the train, you should ideally have 1 ticket for the room and 2 basic fare tickets. Luckily if you made the same mistake that I did, it isn't the end of the world and the attendants at the gate area can assist.
Getting to the Train:
TLDR: Get to the station 30-45 minutes early and the gate attendants are your best friend if anything goes wrong.
I strongly recommend, getting to the station about 30-45 minutes early, especially if you have luggage, so that you have ample time to deal with any unexpected issues and find your train platform. Even if you arrive a little too early there is likely a waiting area for you to rest at to wait for the train. The first challenge we faced was figuring out what platform was going to be departing from. Your best friend here is making sure to follow the signs for the JR lines and then finding one of the screens showing the trains and platform information. The information on the screens cycle between Japanese and English fairly. If you had 2 basic fare tickets, you could each go through the gate by putting in your ticket through the gate as normal; DO NOT throw away your basic fare ticket as you will need it on the train and to exit your arrival station.
However, since we did not have 2 basic fare tickets and the ticket booths and vending machines were closed, we had to work with the gate attendants to figure out a resolution. Using my very limited Japanese and Google translate, we were eventually able to get a stamped pieced of paper that according to Google translate meant this person entered at Osaka station. After getting pass the gate and arriving at the platform, we waited the aforementioned rest area till the train came. About 5 minutes before the train is set to arrive, take the time to figure out where the car your reserved room will be pulling up at using the guide on the floor so that you don't have to sprint to the correct entrance. Worst case you can find the correct car while on the train, but the passageways are fairly narrow so if you have rolling luggage it will be fairly inconvenient.
Aboard the Train:
TLDR: You can buy a basic fare ticket on the train using cash for the same price as if you bought it at the station or reserved a ticket online.
Assuming you boarded the train using the correct entrance, finding your room using the numbers on the wall is fairly simple; maneuvering with rolling luggage and backpacks not so much. Shortly after settling into the room and departing from the station, the conductor stopped by. We were very worried that there would be a huge up charge to buy a ticket on the train, but we were pleasantly surprised and it was just the same 8,910 yen for 1 basic fare ticket. From what I could tell, you would have to pay in cash and they should be able provide change, but since we paid the exact amount I can't confirm. The conductor will then issue you a paper ticket that you need to hold on to and show to the gate agent at your destination station.
The twin room has a little cubby area that is just big enough to store 2 standard carry on sized rolling luggage. The room was fairly alright and had a huge window. There are communal areas, sinks with mirrors to brush your teeth, fairly roomy bathrooms, and shower rooms that require you to purchase a shower card. Unfortunately, they were already all sold out when we went to try to purchase one. I suspect that if you want a shower card you'll likely have to be one of the passengers boarding fairly close to if not at the stations where the train departs. If you want food while on the train, you'll have to bring your own as there is no food served on the train and the vending machines only sell drinks. My two complaints are the room has 1 plug and you're not gonna get the most restful sleep as it isn't exactly quiet and it is a bumpy ride.
Tips:
Exiting the Train/Station:
TLDR: Get ready to exit the train 5-10 minutes before your stop, especially if you have rolling luggage, so you don't miss it.
The train will announce the stations that it will be arriving at in both Japanese and English so you don't have to worry about missing your stop too much; it also helps when your destination is the last stop. That said, I suggest getting ready to exit the train about 5-10 minutes early especially if you have rolling luggage to make sure that you're able to exit the train as the doors tend to only be open for a few minutes.
When exiting the station, if you have 2 basic fare tickets you can each feed them into gate machines and they will "eat" them. However, if you do not have 2 basic fare tickets and had a ticket issued by the conductor like us, you will be giving the standard basic fare ticket and the ticket from the conductor to the gate agent. You can keep the ticket for the room as a souvenir if you'd like.
Overall the Sunrise Express was a pretty fun experience and I would love to do it again. Thanks for taking the time to read this guide and I hope this helps anyone who is planning to take a trip on the Sunrise Express - safe travels!

2024.06.02 03:45 New_Cod_1687 I can't live like this

I don't enjoy anything about my life. I was unemployed for 5 months. I have a job now but it's my relatives business. I accepted the job because i don't have any choice and i don't want to be any more burden to my family.
But i don't have any confidence.I don't have any money.I don't talk to people bc all i can think what a fucking failure i am. My mind is blank , i have nothing to say. I live because i don't have courage to take my life.
I been takin pills and doing rap a year ago bc it was only way to express myself. And i was passionate about it.Then I become addicted to pills(Ritalin) and my family noticed and forced to quit. And i wasn't enjoying anymore too.
I was okay after that. I worked at a job 1.5 month and leave and spend all my money in 2-3 day. I traveled my city , meet people , enjoyed 1-2 month of my life. I was hyperactive. Sold my books maked money, spend them and over and over till I don't have any books to sell. Then i bored for loking for a job and lock myself home spend all my time watching movies etc.
I feel like i have a hole inside me , I can't fill. Never had a real relationship with anyone. And I don't believe I can become a close friend with anyone. I don't know what that means.
Now , at my job. My coworkers says often i look like alienated from life. And they are right. I don't have any purpose. I don't believe I will be a musician ( it's a long shot.) I don't know what to do. All I want is numb myself and feel okay.
I don't laugh at anything. I fake laugh and people notice. I don't understand what people saying sometimes , either i don't feel present at the moment or I get dumber. I am on antidepressants but today i put out cigarettes at my hand to feel something. I am thinking about suicide bc i don't wanna live like this.
I am stuck on my mind. I can't eye contact with others bc I feel like they will notice how desperate i am. I always judge myself. Before I say anything i think what other people might think about me. It's narcissistic i know but I can't help. I want to get the fuck out of mind and do things i want to do , say things I want to say.

2024.06.02 03:26 sladverr 29 [M4F] Arkansas, USA/Anywhere - 29-year-old gamer seeking long-distance relationship

Hey everyone. I'm posting here because "Forever Alone" very much describes me. I'm looking for a long-distance relationship due to various reason I'll get into in a moment. The person I'm searching for is either a gamer already, or someone with strong interest in becoming a gamer. Preferably someone around my age.
Must-knows: These are things that you'd want to know before getting involved as to not waste your time. You're welcome to ask for more information on anything you're curious about. I don't bite.
For reasons of me being a shut-in and unable to drive, long-distance relationships are likely my answer. I'm not a fan of cameras(photos or video) so if you're someone who wants that specifically, maybe I'm not the person. I'm not against the idea of something in person, but that would require you to come to me.
About Me: Self-explanatory category.
I'm avoiding going into very much detail on anything because we can discuss specifics later. If you made in this far, use the phrase "memento mori" for proof. Regardless if you message me, I hope you have a good rest of your day and thanks for stopping by.

2024.06.02 02:47 Rentami_ I quit because of a manic episode

So i just made a spontaneous decision of quitting cigarettes thanks to mental health disorders. Ironic, but I’ll take it. I took mania to my advantage and now I’ll never smoke again, as I just finished throwing out like hundreds of cigarettes. I’m glad I did this before i shift back into depressive because I won’t have any access to smoking again, as i’m underage and can’t buy any, and i’ll get through the withdrawal phase before i even turn of age. I know I’ll get through it. The future is looking brighter than ever for me

2024.06.02 02:30 Mission_Star5888 Our Happiness are Moments We Need to Always Remember

I had to go to the grocery store today. Was running out of food for the dog, short on milk and just needed some things. I haven't been out for a month because of my step dad.
I can't trust my step dad. He will just sit and watch TV while I am gone. He has dementia and 85 years old. Not too long ago he went outside in the shed. He slipped and fell. I didn't know he was outside he never tells me. His son came by for dinner and found him while I was outside vaping. I did walk around looking for him but just in the wrong places. But anyway I got out today because my step sister in law came by for awhile to keep an eye on him.
I went to Weis grocery store. While I was shopping I was getting my cat her canned cat food. It was taking me awhile because looking for different food for her I didn't find. I look up and this older guy is just standing there waiting for me. I told this guy he should have said something and I moved out of the way. We got talking about our cats. He has like fifteen plus cats that he takes care of, I have one. But I have my cat for a reason I believe
First of all I have had two cats. My first cat was about 18 years ago. She was a black cat that my neighbors supposedly were taking care of. My neighbors back then, at least the guy, were jerks. The father laid out in the sun in his bikini bottom and didn't do anything all weekend. I felt sorry for his wife and kids. They always had cats running around outside. This black cat came to me one day and I found some food for her. She kept coming back. She became my best friend.
I went through some very hard times. I even thought of suicide. You know what kept me from doing it? My cat Midnight. Just seemed like everytime she came to me I had peace. I go out for a cigarette she would come to me without me calling her. She would come because she knew I needed her. A few times she was sitting right outside the door. When she passed away she was in my arms. She was like my best friend, an angel at that. I really do believe God sent her to be my friend.
Then about a couple weeks before she passed away she ended up getting under the porch. We had a board off because we had to do plumbing work under there years ago and Midnight liked going under there in the winter. Now we had to get her out so she didn't just die. When we did we kept her inside and took care of her. A few days after this calico cat, her name is Reese, walks up to me outside. She's rubbing my legs and meowing. She just followed me inside. I kept her in my room until Midnight passed on. Now she is all over and a climber. My mom passed on a year later from pancreatic cancer. A lot of other crap happened in that year and if God hadn't brought Reese before Midnight passed on I don't know where I would be today.
I believe everything happens for a reason and what we decide changes our future. That's why we need to make sure we stay on a good path and not a bad one. Personally I don't think we need to try to be perfect because that's impossible but use common sense. There is always a better way and having faith is what helps you to get there. Sometimes we just need a little help and we get a friend

2024.06.02 02:30 erraticandunplanned (OH) Ohio, Franklin County. Landlord showed me a different apt unit from the one I signed for. The new unit smells like cigarettes. Do I have any recourse?

I have been looking for an apartment for awhile now. The landlord for a multi-unit complex showed me an "example unit" with the understanding that the unit I would be moving into would be cleaned once the current resident vacated. The unit I viewed looked good and I signed and began moving in this weekend. Unfortunately, the unit I actually signed for smells like cigarettes. Its a small thing, relatively speaking, but I would very much like to live in an apartment that didn't have that lingering scent.
Do I have any grounds to demand that they clean it? Or maybe move me to a different unit? Or is this a simple case of my not reading the fine print before signing?

2024.06.02 02:28 glorstonne Delta 1300 faulty DC car/cigarette output?

Just started using an officially refurbished Delta 1300. Everything seems ok except the cigarette output jack which I need to power a 12v fridge and lights. Initially it was working with the high quality Marinco cigarette male plug that I got specifically for this purpose. But then when I turned the ecoflow off for a while and back on, the problem came.
There is no "overload" or other obvious issue displayed on the screen. What happens is the tiny white indicator light above the cigarette socket flashes intermittently (seems not at a regular pace of flashing but more like once every 2-4 seconds). The indicator light on my male plug which lights up constantly when power is supplied flickers very lightly at random (not matching the white cig output light on the Delta unit).
The male plug and the fridge + lights that it leads to work completely fine when plugged into the vehicle's socket, so I know it's not faulty. Fuse is fine. Contact points look good. I'm plugging it all the way into the Delta's socket.
I've been very disappointed to find that many people seem to be having cigarette socket output issues with various Delta models.
Is there anything I can try here or is it one of many faulty units?

2024.06.02 02:17 Sp00kerWooper I need help finding a video of a mysterious blues song, possibly played on vinyl..

Does anyone know of the video about a blues song that doesn’t exist?
My friend said there was this video from early youtube, probably like 2007, with a smaller amount of views, 500-1K, about an extra song on an old blues album.
But, this extra song doesn’t technically exist (I assume my friend means it’s not on the track list), and it’s just a video of these two guys listening to this warping, distorted “ghost track,” and I’m sure they just made a song and put it through a distortion loop but they look so genuinely scared.
The video itself isn’t special. It features two guys in a garage or basement and there’s tarp on the wall and one of them is smoking a cigarette. They might be listening to the song on a CD or Vinyl Record…
The video was just called the name of the blues artist then the name of the song, followed by the date. My friend says the title might’ve had 2004 in it but he’s not sure.
According to my friend, there was apparently there was also an article from a coast to coast or an NPR adjacent source, or maybe it was a podcast.
Please let me know if you know of this video, thanks guys.
I’ve tried TOMT already but have not gotten any replies. Hopefully i’ll get one here. I’ve tried RBI, i’ve tried the Blues subreddit.
No, it is not Everyone Knows That or Like The Wind.
I really would like to find this video, it has been driving me mad.
