2024.06.02 08:57 WatchfulHeaven1 Deck Dilemma: Azorius... Control? I'm pretty sure it counts as a control deck.

So I've been playing Magic as most do: on and off throughout the years. I got myself back into it due to a cousin who's a state away. I have more recently gotten some of my friends into it. According to Steam and adding the app, I have roughly 85 hours in it over the past... year (I know, cut me some slack). 30 of those hours have been in this week and I've been experimenting with my decks and favorite playstyles.
And I think I've found it: Being Annoying. Annoying to the point where not even I'm having fun and am just there to see my opponent suffer, whether that be a deck that mills every card my opponent has or a deck that can get my health into the high hundreds with crash-inducing multiplying tokens on the board.
Most recently, however, I've found one I like the most. My lovingly named Azorius deck: COUNTER-SPELL. I'll give you three guesses about what it's about and the first two don't count.
Here's the deck and my main problem with it below. The cards in brackets are cards my ADHD brain added while I was typing this and looking through my collection and therefore are not part of the current win condition, but I thought they would just help the deck based off their descriptions with zero testing, sorry.

Land:(40){I just had basic Lands originally}
Yes yes, I know, and have been told multiple times by my friends. I am a bad person. So this deck is a stall deck more or less. Have all the enchantments lock down the opponent while building up land and usually the namesakes of the deck - Counterspells. You get your big Creatures, hopefully the Terrors, Brinefangs, or the Mindbreaker and keep them alive from any shutdown spells with the counters. Extra points if you get the Ceratops for the double strike. So it's either the opponent just losing to damage, or losing the battle of attrition which Terisian Mindbreaker speeds up.
It has obvious counters with faster starting/rush decks... and Phrexians, usually involving incubation, but that's just because I'm too stupid to make the best use of my exiles and nothing else. I feel like it's a solid deck.
There's just one tiny problem, at least when I play it. I never get any land, the idea is great, but when put into practice it never seems to work. It's not even a 'not enough land for the 8 mana spell' it's just a 'it's my 11th turn and I have 3 land on the field'. If it was less frequent I wouldn't even be making this post. This is my first real reddit post and it's over this. If it was less frequent I'd understand, everyone has bad draws, but it's a third of my deck, and it consistently doesn't give me any. It doesn't give me any excess land, no no no, it's either have some land and get it at a slow but consistent enough rate that you're almost dead when you can actually play stuff or it's a barren wasteland with no water and the sun has been blotted out for decades.
Like I said before, I feel like its a solid deck, or at least it can be if I fixed it, but I have no idea where the problem is. Whether it's the bloated deck size, not enough lands, or if I'm simply not bribing the Arena Shufflemy luck has just been horrendous with this deck.
I think I just made this mainly to vent but I'm not at the point in my Magic skills to figure out what to do sans scrapping the entire deck, y'know? I'd appreciate some advice about it, because it just has me stumped.
I'll restate that this is my first serious post and first MagicArena post so I don't know if this counts as a Deck or a Question Flair. and I'll edit this out once I'm sure of which one it is. and double check spelling uh... tomorrow, soon to be later today.

This a reanalysis of C4 Charlie since I was wrong on a few stats, and ill will include different set ups and the situation in which one will be better than the other.
[Discoveries] I’m honestly glad I decided to retested him because I made a few new discoveries. Apparently C4 Charlie does not get the damage buff from plasma goggles, he only gets the 20% speed buff. Also I’m not sure if there’s something wrong with the Blazing Feet trinket, it gives an 8% speed buff which he does get at lower speeds, but at higher speeds he doesn’t get the buff from it, I’m not sure if this is just for C4 Charlie or other characters as well. Also I’ve tested it and C4 Charlie’s MOAB Assassin ability does get buffed by James’ Lucky Coin so he has a 5% chance of dealing 16k damage with it! Oh yeah his ability also gets the GGMMM buff but that’s not as cool or impressive. I already said this in another post but I’ll include the two best instruments for the character, and I’ll probably leave a comment for the stats of what I believe are the best two, Golden Viola and Fire Guitar. Why only two well it’s because I believe that without a doubt you should have Tuxedo Jake and Jake in your team, because Marceline is mid ok I said it. Also when I replace The Lover with Fire Guitar while using Charlie’s original setup his attack speed went from 6.67 to 7.5? Don’t ask me how I have no clue how a the Fire Guitar’s 7% speed buff gave him a 12.45% increase. Also I’m going to go over a bunch of setups and tell you which has his highest potential and which is best for his being afk.

{Double Bombs Path} Good for speed running if you decided to bring Charlie. Good damage but cause’s a little more lag than the MOAB path, and is a little less reliable, fine choice for an afk run.

{Carl The Gem and Missile Setup} Range 59 This has the highest damage output, but be cautious it will cause some lag in the later waves with more characters. Also missile is not a good choice for speed running or placing near the spawn because the missiles only target after the MOABs have reached a certain point, Im not sure if it’s time base or if the hit box has to reach past a certain point in the map. I recommend using the Double Bomb path with this setup because well why not, more damage.

[Carl the Gem] Damage: 9 Attack Speed: 53.17 DPS: 478.53

[Conclusion] Yeah C4 Charlie is still pretty mediocre, I still recommend just using him for eco in the adventure mode. His best afk set up is Carl the Gem and Missile, but with too many missiles and carls your game will lag in late waves in the Martian Games. So you should make the most out of each character’s base damage and only apply missile and other trinkets to those who can use it more effectively than others or supports who need that extra damage. Yeah but selling and replacing for the MOAB Assassin has the highest damage potential of Charlie so if you decide to do that just the James’ Lucky Coin and some cost reduction trinkets.

One of my favorite features was the reverse-draw design, which added a level of smoothness to the shot that I had never experienced before. Last fall, I took up crossbow hunting as a new hobby. I had been researching for months, reading reviews, and comparing different brands. From all the options available, the Wicked Ridge Invader 400 seemed to stand out. Here's my honest review of my experience and the features that really made a difference in my hunting journey.
The first thing I noticed about the Invader 400 was its amazing accuracy. With its fully adjustable Pro-View scope and 3-arrow instant-detach quiver, I was able to hit my targets with incredible precision. This feature was especially useful for my first hunting trip, where a close-range shot was crucial.
In terms of safety, the ACUdraw 50 cocking system made the crossbow feel much more secure when I was preparing to shoot. It was also very easy to handle, even after a long day of hunting, thanks to its lightweight design. However, there were instances where the cocking rod did feel a bit rough on my hand, which caused some discomfort after several shots.
One of the features that I appreciated the most about the Invader 400 was the quiet operation. In the forest, sound can be more important than you may think. Not having my target spooked away is crucial, and this crossbow performed exceptionally well in that regard. As an avid hunter, I was intrigued by the Wicked Ridge M-370 ACUdraw Crossbow. Its lightweight build and sleek design caught my eye from the start. However, upon closer inspection, I noticed a couple of hiccups with the product.
Firstly, the AcuDraw cocking device was quite tricky to use, requiring some extra effort and attention to avoid making mistakes. While I eventually got the hang of it, I couldn't help feeling a bit frustrated with the initial learning curve.

I don't use the word lightly. I've tried countless times to be the person someone else can love. I'm still alone.
My father never loved me, and made it clear my brother was his favorite. While he would go out of his ways to spend time with him and even call off of work some days, I would be lucky to say good morning to him and receive one back. He died 5 years ago now and his last words ever spoken to me were him yelling at me while I was throwing up. Those words still echo in my head every night.
My mother makes it a bit less obvious but to her I'm a workhorse. She doesn't take interest in anything I do, only if it's something that would prevent me from helping her. Recently she's been asking for all my free time since she is moving, and when I had to leave early for an event she had called me the next day to berate me for not getting enough work done.
My siblings couldn't care less about me, they are kind when I'm around but I don't think I've talked to either outside of family events or gatherings in a year
My friends don't want me around. I'm always the one to reach out and start conversations. I'm always the one inviting them to play games online or go grab something to eat. When I'm around them I feel like a burden, someone they deal with rather than hang out with.
Any romantic attempts have been shot down quickly. Always excuses and nobody just telling me they don't want to be around me. I had one friend who said they were aromantic when I asked them out and then the next day told me about a person they want to date.
I'm truly unlovable.
Don't worry about me internet strangers, I'm coming to terms with it and I won't be doing anything crazy. Just another night I'm reminded of how I spent the day alone and end the day alone. My 'friends' don't like it when I open up to them like this so I've resorted to this.
I don't believe I've done anything to deserve this. Maybe in a past life I was a real asshole and this is karma catching up on her paperwork. She seems to be the only person who checks in on me.

My usual upload speed on all devices is 30-40mbps, but whenever I do a speed test on my ps5, I get from 0.5mbps to around 8mbps. My console is really close to router, on WiFi, can't do LAN. I've got 5ghz selected. Is this a Sony side issue or is it just me ?

Job will be changing in a couple weeks where I'll be driving to and from a location every 3 weeks. About 2200 kms round trip. Advice on preparing
I have a 2011 Dodge Journey for now. 100k kms. 2.4L. FWD. (Will be looking to upgrade to some sort of a bigger heavy duty vehicle before winter. Suggestions for that would be welcome also). Out of 1100km each way 900 will be paved hiway and 200km is a crappy gravel road leading to the work site camp. Recommendations online say to have 2 spare tires due to sharp rocks. And watch for rocks kicked up my construction vehicles. So I'm planning on carrying a proper jack. This is northern Canada so there will be snow and cold 6 months which im used to. Recommendations on Jack's? Hydraulic or bottle for these conditions? Other stuff I. Planning on having -Cordless impact wrench for lugs -Noco battery booster -safety vest and markers -air compresor ( airhawk) -2 full size tires on rims -sludge hammer Anything else I can reasonably add to this list? And I'm planning on having a mechanic friend look over vehicle before starting this job. Anything I should be making sure they go over and look at to avoid any breakdowns. Some preventative maintenance? Also any recommendations on vehicles I should keep an eye out for? It's that crappy 200kms I'm worried about beating up the vehicle at speeds of about 80 kmh. So preferably looking for a type of vehicle that can take a beating.

Hi, I’m a 37yo female happily married with 2 kids 10,9. My family is complete. Life is good. Finally was able to become a SAHM in the last year. I was on BC for the first 8 years of our relationship, and after my second I was on the iud for 5 years and 4 years ago I decided I wanted to be hormone free for the first time in a long time. I have been tracking my cycle religiously (condoms when ovulating or near ovulation). Well my period was 4 days late, tender boobs and nipples. Sometimes my period is late when highly stressed or anxious. Took several tests today and they’re all positive.
I freaked out. I have been vocal about my family being complete, not wanting any more children. My husband has always wanted more but I feel like I have ptsd raising my 2 kids. I took on 98% of child rearing and household chores all while working a career (part of my controlling personality). I have had nightmares through the years of being pregnant and freaking out. My plans for the future of our family, the lack of attention my 2 kids will lose, the ptsd of caring for a newborn it’s all a little much for me. I feel like a terrible person for even considering abortion, especially since my husband wants more children, and the fact that I just don’t feel excited or happy. I honestly feel sad/angry at myself for allowing this to happen.
I am blessed to have a comfortable life, and I honestly feel like if I had this child I will feel resentment to my husband, and I’m not sure I mentally can handle that. I don’t want to discuss this with friends or family, I feel lost.
I’ve envisioned keeping this child, but I don’t feel joy, feels like doom. I suffer from anxiety, and I don’t know what choice to make.
My husband says he will support whatever decision I make. He could see the shock and sadness in my face, but I’m not so sure how supportive he would actually be.
I need words of encouragement 😭
