For weeks, I've been using the Mozeeda 5 Pack Safety Glasses for various tasks, and I must say, their features have really stood out.
When I first put them on, I was surprised by their size. They were surprisingly roomy, allowing me to wear them over my regular glasses without any discomfort. The soft nose piece and lightweight design made them comfortable enough for me to wear for extended periods, even during physically demanding tasks.
One of the highlight features for me was the anti-fog technology. After using traditional goggles, I found that these Mozeeda glasses allowed me to see clearly even in foggy conditions. It's a feature I would highly recommend for anyone who needs vision clarity for their work.
The safety glasses also proved to be versatile. I used them in various situations, from gardening to welding, and they performed well each time. They were able to protect my eyes from wind, sand, and flying debris, and their splash-resistant lenses were especially useful in the lab.
However, one downside I noticed was the durability. After a few weeks of use, the lenses started to show signs of wear, and the frames began to scratch easily. Despite these minor issues, the Mozeeda glasses proved to be a valuable addition to my safety gear.
In summary, these Mozeeda 5 Pack Safety Glasses are a practical and comfortable choice for anyone needing protection against various hazards. While they might require some maintenance to keep them in top shape, their versatility makes them a worthwhile investment.

These ToolFreak Rip Out Safety Glasses with Foam Padding are a game changer for anyone in a job that requires protective eyewear. The foam padding is comfortable and secure, making them a reliable option even in adverse weather conditions.
The detachable headstrap allows even more flexibility, so they can be worn in various ways. The case and cloth included for safekeeping are an added bonus. However, one minor drawback is that they might not be suitable for everyone, as some users may find them a bit too snug.
Overall, I highly recommend these Cute Safety Glasses for anyone looking for reliable and adaptable eye protection.

🔗Durable Smoke Safety Glasses with Green Lens for Ultimate Protection

I recently tried the Bouton 249-5907-207 Traditional Safety Glasses, and I must say, they're a game-changer. The smoke frame and green IR 3.0 lenses offer sturdy protection without sacrificing style. The built-in wire mesh side shields gave me a sense of security when working in my workshop, knowing my eyes were well-guarded.
One aspect that stood out was the molded nose bridge design, which felt comfortable and fit my face perfectly. The U-Fit spatula temples were a nice touch, allowing for a custom fit that didn't cause any discomfort throughout the day. Despite a few minor scratches from everyday use, the lenses remained scratch-resistant and clear.
While these glasses are heavy-duty and built to last, I did notice that the side shields could be more robust. A few occasions required me to adjust them so they would clip in properly. All in all, the Bouton 249-5907-207 Traditional Safety Glasses are a solid choice for anyone who wants the perfect blend of style and safety.

I was thrilled to try out these SQIMZAR Safety Glasses Goggles, especially after hearing about them from a friend who uses them at her nursing job. I appreciated the unique side shield design that not only protected my eyes from dust, pollen, and other particles but also kept them from getting irritated by saliva or blue light. The anti-scratch feature was a game-changer, ensuring that my vision stayed clear even after prolonged use.
What really stood out to me was the comfort level. These glasses were lightweight and designed to fit snugly without slipping, making them perfect for a variety of situations – from working in a lab to shooting a ball. And in case you're wondering, yes, they're great for activities like playing video games or watching TV, too.
Of course, no product is perfect, and I did notice that the anti-fog coating wore off over time, but overall, I was impressed with the comfort, protection, and style these glasses offered. If you're looking for stylish and effective safety eyewear, these SQIMZAR goggles are definitely worth considering.

The Bolle Tracker Safety Glasses Twilight are the ultimate combination of style and protection, perfect for any outdoor enthusiast. I discovered these glasses a few weeks ago and they have seriously become a staple in my daily routine. The best part? My entire family can use them too.
From the moment I put them on, I felt the comfort envelop my face. The adjustable head strap meant that not only was I protected, but I was also comfortable all day long. The frame material and eye seal are exceptional when it comes to blocking out dust and other particles.
The 99.99% UVA and UVB light absorption feature is another outstanding highlight of these glasses, keeping my eyes safe even on the brightest days. And let's not forget the anti-fog and anti-scratch coating on both sides – what a game-changer!
Now, while these glasses are perfect in many ways, I did notice that they tend to fog up a bit after long hours of use. However, this doesn't take away from the overall amazing experience I've had with the Bolle Tracker Safety Glasses Twilight. If you're looking for a reliable pair of safety glasses that also fit perfectly and look fantastic, look no further – these are the ones!

🔗Cute Cat Eye Safety Glasses with Clear Anti-Fog Lens

Working in a woodshop as an amateur carpenter, I often found myself squinting through my old worn-out safety glasses that felt more like an accessory than a genuine protective measure. So when I stumbled upon Stoggles' Cat Eye Safety Glasses with Clear Anti-Fog Lens, I couldn't resist giving them a try.
As a first-time user, I was immediately drawn to the unique design that added a retro touch to the safety aspect. The protective barrier provided a sense of security and confidence while working, and the cat eye shape was a nice little detail that made the glasses stand out in a sea of regular safety eyewear.
One feature that truly impressed me was the lens' ability to block blue light. As someone who spends hours in front of computer screens and smartphones, this was a game-changer. My eyes felt less strained, and I appreciated being able to focus on work for extended periods without feeling the need to take breaks as often.
However, there was one downside to using these safety glasses. Although they boasted the ability to block 100% of UV rays, I noticed a very slight yellowish tint when looking at the sun. It wasn't enough to interfere with my work, but it was noticeable nonetheless.
Despite that minor inconvenience, I found the Stoggles Cat Eye Safety Glasses to be comfortable and functional. They stayed in place without any issues and were a breeze to clean. The frames were lightweight and sturdy, and I appreciated the added protection the side and top shields offered.
In conclusion, the Stoggles Cat Eye Safety Glasses with Clear Anti-Fog Lens proved to be a reliable and fashionable choice for someone like me who needed a functional safety eyewear solution without compromising on style. While they weren't perfect, the pros greatly outweighed the cons, making them a worthwhile investment for anyone looking for both style and safety.

The ERB Safety Lucy Girl Power at WorkTM Safety Glasses are a stylish and practical solution for women who need to wear safety eyewear. As a reviewer, I have been using these glasses for a while now, and they have made a significant difference in my daily life.
What sets these safety glasses apart from others is their ultra-lightweight frameless design. The one-piece, hard-coated polycarbonate lens not only offers excellent wraparound protection but also resists scratches perfectly. The 9.5 base curve provides an excellent wraparound structure for side protection, and the integrated nose pad ensures a comfortable, secure fit.
A feature that I particularly appreciate is the IPROTECT style, which makes these safety glasses an excellent choice for ladies who want to look stylish while wearing them. The sunglasses come with a 99% UVA and UVB protection, complying with the ANSI Z87.1 standard for high-impact protection.
Despite the many positive aspects of these safety glasses, there are a few cons. For instance, they do not have an adjustable temple, and they do not come with anti-fog or anti-scratch features. Moreover, the sunglasses have a clear, smoke, and indoooutdoor mirror lens options, and they are only available in a clear and smoke lens color options.
Overall, the ERB Safety Lucy Pink Safety Glasses are a reliable and stylish option for women who need safety eyewear in their daily lives. The combination of comfort, style, and safety features makes these sunglasses a great choice for anyone looking for practical and chic safety eyewear.

2024.05.26 07:20 Fragrant-Tower-7652 I think I gave myself a mild case of serotonin syndrome

Not my doctor's fault. I started taking an SSRI again that I've been off of for a while and thought I could let her know at our next appt.... but I'm stupid for that bc we've added other meds since the last time I was on it. Can I safely take or do anything at home to ease symptoms? I don't feel like the ER is necessary since it could realistically just be side effects from the meds I'm on. I can talk and walk and (mostly) think. BP and heart rate are not in scary territory.
But I'm worried because I don't see my psychiatrist for another week... It's too soon to ask for an earlier appt, and I'm also worried I'm just freaking myself out about normal side effects but I don't want to feel like this until then. The medication I usually take to help me sleep is, of course, an antidepressant (trazodone). Might go to urgent care tomorrow if I don't feel any better. But I'm way too wired to sleep and would like some relief. 50mg Benadryl helped with agitation and muscle tension, but worsened the cognitive stuff... Everything else I can think of to calm my system down also raises serotonin... so is there anything I can do to lower my serotonin levels at home?? Or help me sleep w/o potentially making it worse?

2024.05.26 06:57 dumpninian Parents taking my phone away I'm 19

I'm 19 and my parents will be taking my phone away after this semester and will be giving it back before school starts (which is in 2 months). My parents basically paid for my phone (it was a graduation gift when i graduated highschool). Do they have the rights to take my phone? I'm suffering from severe depression but i'm off my meds (parents forced me to stop the medication because they don't like it's side effects on me, which is i'd be always sleepy so there are times where i'd forget to do house chores) and i'm literally dangerous to myself whenever i'm not busy occupied because thoughts would consume me every time im pre-occupied and i'd start to think about stuffs and ending myself so most of the time (and my therapist also suggested) that i should keep myself busy so i'm usually watching stuffs on youtube/tiktok, playing games or listening to music to distract myself from my thoughts.

2024.05.26 06:56 baconbits1000 Reopening a discussion about what Epic would look like on stage (long post)

I know there is a lot of discussion on what is going to happen to the musical once it's completed, mainly if it's going to go to broadway or if something else is gonna be done with it, and wanted to reopen a discussion about what it might possibly look like on stage. I made most of this a few months ago but wanted to reopen it with some new ideas since the release of the Underworld saga.

Set:

I have an idea but the more I think about it, the more I don't like it. I have no idea how to go about this and am open to hearing any other opinions.
Almost certain things:
Two main sets: One is a ship, and the other is the islands/other locations. While they could be separate sets, I'd love to see a situation where both can be on stage at one time.
I think there should 100% be several perches. Whether these are rocks or something else, idc. I just think there has to be perches for certain effects.
My idea: It would be a rotating set with half being the ship and half being a blank side representing the different islands. This would allow for changes of props such as trees, palaces, etc, with maybe some perches for the Infant part and for the Gods to have a higher ground. There would be a wall that could move in and out like a curtain in time we need to see both the ship and the island. The wall would be a screen of some sort that could show lightning as well as change colors based on the location and vibe. The stage floor could also be illuminated for waves during ruthlessness if needed. On stage left and right would be giant rocks, almost like mountains with perches.
Based on the songs released so far, here would be the set changes needed:
The Horse and the Infant: Island
Just a Man: Island
Full Speed Ahead: Ship
Open Arms: Island
Warrior of the Mind: Ship and Island in my opinion (the start of the song would be on the ship and then the flashback would be on the island)
Polyphemus: Island
Survive: Island
Remember Them: Start with island, and then wall behind is removed or stage is halfway rotated to show ship for the climax at the end.
My goodbye: Ship
Storm: Ship
Luck Runs Out: Ship
Keep your friends close: island and then ship
Ruthlessness: Ship
Puppeteer: island
Wouldn’t you like: island
Done for: island
There are other ways: island
The Underworld: ship
No Longer You: Up to interpretation but I think island/location
Monster: Also up to interpretation but I think island/location as well

Specific details:

Troy Saga:
There isn’t very much crazy stuff during this Saga so besides set changes, the only main thing would be portraying the Gods and Lotus Eaters, which I’m open to hearing suggestions.
Zeus would show up on a perch and there would be lots of lightning. For the baby dropping, Odysseus could be downstage and drop the baby into the pit, or there could be a perch on the back of the set, or something (we aren't even sure if we see him drop the baby anyway).
Cyclops Saga:
Everything would be very dimly lit with shadows doing the work. We never actually see the Cyclops, but all the work is done to show him using shadows. The deaths would happen by having each character under spotlights and then the spotlights go out with each hit. (open to ideas since it's very hard to portray a 10-foot-tall creature eating and killing people on stage)
During Remember Me. Everything would be dimly lit until Athena shows up and everything and everyone pauses for a second (giving me Hamilton vibes of the rotating floor). During this, the ship is slowly revealed and then Odysseus and his crew transition back to the ship where he shouts out the climax from the edge of the ship depending on the set.
Storm Saga:
Not too many ideas so far. The storm would be shown mainly through lightning, blue lighting maybe, and more depending on the set.
For the island in the sky, probably use a form of shadows but I am mostly lost on ideas.
For Ruthlessness, I could see things going dark like the Cyclops saga (justified because of the storm) with slight blue illuminations and lightning and using shadows to show waves and the ships sinking
Circe:
The only crazy thing in this is the men turning to pigs. This could either be done using shadows again or could also be done through some kind of quick change.
During Wouldn’t You Like, I can imagine green illuminations and during the scenes with Circle, I can imagine like a magenta illumination.
Underworld:
The Underworld: not too many ideas. I would like to see Polites and mom show up maybe on perches. Lighting could be dark and green and lots of shadows.
For Monster: I would love to see it end with Odysseus downstage with a spotlight with all the fallen men surrounding and staring at Odysseus and maybe Tiresias and Athena in opposite perches (Athena is just an idea that I thought would be cool lol).

Casting:

There would be a lot of dual casting, similar to Hamilton.
Characters that stay the same throughout the whole musical: Odysseus, Athena, maybe Hermes
Characters that double ideas:
Polites and Telemachus, Circe and Penelope, Eurylochus one of the suitors, Tiresias a God and a suitor, just an idea but Aeolus and Calypso (it's gonna be very hard to maintain someone with that high of a pitch with another character), Zeus and Polyphemus.
Other main characters that haven't been accounted for are the Gods and suitors which can make slight appearances from the ensemble similar to how Hamilton does it.

Pit Orchestra:

I haven't done a full run-through of the instruments used but from what I have off the top of my head, it would be a drumset, several strings, a piano, and lots of digital synthesizer stuff. The orchestra would definitely be in a pit unless somehow it happened to fit a set idea (unsure of how this would work as it would take away from the illusion I feel like). I think this musical is going to completely modernize the way a pit orchestra functions with it utilizing so many digital sound effects.
I would love to start an actual discussion about this and maybe even create some sketches of certain scenarios.

2024.05.26 06:46 Vila-real Barcelona needs to alter its DNA. Hansi Flick may be the one to do it. (Long read)

The Xavi era is over. The 44 year-old manager, considered by many as the best Spanish player in history, will likely wake up one morning, look back at the past two and a half years, and think “What the hell just happened.”
His journey has been one of constant ups and downs. His appointment as manager fresh from a short managerial stint in Qatar, taking over for Koeman; the both weird and familiar space he found himself as his work started, surrounded by the warmth of the club of his childhood and his life, and at the same time feeling constantly scrutinized by local media, fans, and some of the board.
At the top of the list are the many repercussions he suffered from the actions of president Joan Laporta. He was forced to watch while in charge the saddest of goodbyes to Lionel Messi. Rumors of the board interfering with squad call-ups. The I love you - I love you nots of the past few months of the President, from getting choked up when he said Xavi was staying, to his final decision of firing him with a match to go in La Liga, to everything before and after.
Breaking news: Laporta doesn't seem to love anyone but himself. There is a saying in Spanish; “La confianza da asco.” Said in other words, those closest to you will treat you the worst. The neutral Spanish fan who grew up watching Xavi lift a World Cup and back-to-back Euros hopes that in the near future, and regardless of Xavi’s tactical shortcomings in comparison to Barcelona titans like Luis Enrique or Pep Guardiola, he will find peace, serenity, and room to do the work and succeed. Often, one can only find that away from home.
Whichever way Barcelona arrived here, the sacking of Xavi brings forth Hansi Flick. The German is the second foreign manager out of the past seven at Barcelona, and the first one in 22 years to have never either managed or played in Spain, since Louis van Gaal in 2003. Flick, aware of the interest for months, has been learning Spanish in an effort to bridge the inevitable gap he will feel upon his unveiling.
If only that were the only problem.
Laporta’s last bullet
The appointment of Hansi Flick by Joan Laporta ties both of them at the hip; for a lot of people watching, this is El President’s last chance to turn things around, especially as other areas of the club, fanbase and financials notoriously, are on a downward spiral.
The Nou Camp Nou is still in shambles, and the dream of playing at home by the end of 2025, no matter what news sources push out, is difficult. In turn, the experience at the Estadi Olimpic has proven to be both good and bad for the club; on one end, the audience watching matches at the temporary stadium are heavily, and more than ever, international fans hoping to see one more attraction, much like the Sagrada Familia Cathedral, or the beach.
On the other end, Barcelona has gotten away with it with a lukewarm season for that same reason. Losses to Paris Saint-Germain (1-4), Real Madrid (1-2), Girona (2-4) and Villarreal (3-5) at home would have set the Camp Nou on fire.
If we focus on the financials, things get worse. The club has partially sold assets out to execute what they called “levers” that would allow them to tackle last-minute payments, wage bills, and much needed transfers. The situation would be alleviated if the team performed, though. Barcelona was counting on getting close to the Champions League final to bring some much needed revenue in. That did not happen, with the club losing to an extra-inspired Dembele against Paris Saint Germain in the Quarterfinals, 6-4 in aggregate.
Barcelona also failed to qualify to the newly formatted FIFA Club World Club. Much lower-valued clubs like Benfica, Atletico Madrid, or Red Bull Salzburg will attend; but Barcelona did not make the cut–another 50 million Euros out of reach. In turn, financial leadership has attempted to distance itself from the wreckage, with moves like Financial Vice President Eduard Romeu, who left two months ago. He is still to be replaced.
As Laporta keeps the plates spinning, he turns to what seems to be the last chance he has to turn the wind in his favor, and in the end, the one thing true Barcelona fans care about most: what happens on the pitch. With the sacking of Xavi and the imminent appointment of Hansi Flick, the President could have placed the last nail on his coffin and opened the door for a successor.
It could also prove to be the best decision Barcelona has made since Guardiola.
Hansi Flick
Hansi Flick (1965, Heidelberg) spent the bulk of his playing career at Bayern Munich in the 80s. He averaged 20 matches per season, not standing out but nevertheless being part of the team that won four Bundesligas, first under Udo Lattek then under Jupp Heynckes in what was his first stint out of four for the veteran manager at the German club.
As a Bayern player, he visited Spain twice, both times playing against Real Madrid, and losing both times, in the Champions League final rounds.
Immediately after his retirement, he became manager of lower league FC Bammental, and later and more consistently, TSG Hoffenheim. He managed the club for close to 200 matches, attempting promotion to the German third tier several times, but failing and eventually being sacked on November 19, 2005.
Roughly a thousand miles away, Xavi and company visited the Barnabeu themselves, beating Los Blancos by 0-3 with a Ronaldinho brace, including that run from midfield to dribble half the team, beat Iker Casillas, and get a standing ovation from the rival stadium. The best of times were still to come for Barcelona: 18-year-old Messi was starting to feature.
After that reset, Flick decided to cool down and learn. What followed were stints as an assistant manager at Red Bull Salzburg serving Giovanni Trapattoni in one of the mighty Italian’s last adventures in 2006. He is only one of seven men to have won the UEFA Champions League as both a player, and a manager.
Most notoriously though, he was later the right hand of Joachim Löw in the German National team. The first strokes of Flick’s abilities as a manager started to shine as part of Löw’s team: aggressiveness in the offensive, physicality, aerial prowess. Set pieces. Largely in charge of the latter for the German side during the 2014 World Cup, Flick proved his worth when elegance-personified-in-football Toni Kroos whipped a cross from a free kick, and Mats Hummels headed past Hugo Lloris to beat France (1-0). Days later, Kroos would join Real Madrid from Bayern Munich.
Flick went on to become the Sporting Director of the national team after they lifted the World Cup, but the bench kept calling him in. By 2019 he was back at work, as assistant manager of Niko Kovac and his Bayern Munich. The Croatian was hoping to build on the Bundesliga title achieved last season, but first players, then fans turned their backs on him as results and performances, individual and at the team level, simply weren’t good enough. Eintracht Frankfurt beat the German giants 5-1, and Kovac was sacked.
That night in November, Hansi Flick took over as interim manager. Six months later, he would lift the Bundesliga, German Cup and the Champions League trophies. It would be only the second treble in Bayern history.
Flick left at the end of the next season, surrounded by rumors of his relationship with board and key Bayern ex-players, but as one of the most effective managers in Bayern’s recent memory.
Later on, Germany called, and Flick did not hesitate to say yes; a real chance at being in charge of the national team.
However, that stint did not go well. It did not help that, while in charge, Flick doubted himself.
The next 23 months involved an underwhelming third place at the UEFA Nations League, and three dismal performances at the World Cup, with a loss to Japan (1-2), a tie against Germany (1-1), and a late win to Costa Rica (4-2).
Even though he had plenty of Bayern ex-players at his disposal, Flick simply could not make things work with a team he could not communicate more than a few times a year, man management being one of his fortes. He tried to compensate, as humans often do, in other areas of his own influence. He changed formation over a half dozen times, shying away from his 4-2-3-1. He became aggressive in his communications with players.
The board eventually lost confidence in him.
His style of football though, aggressive, high-block and high-tempo, Flicki-Flacka as it was dubbed back in Munich, is the kind of philosophy Flick will be asked and hope to bring to Barcelona.
The question remains: will he be able to get past language barriers, cultural dissonance, a local media that will not hesitate to attack a foreign, non Barcelona-DNA manager the instant things are not working, and succeed against a well-oiled Real Madrid, likely with Kylian Mbappe in the ranks?
Just as importantly, will Laporta get out of Flick’s way–and his own way–and let the manager do his job?
Will there be enough resources to build a team that will be able to play to the German’s style?
Some of these questions can be asked by looking at the manager’s tactical style, and the players at his disposal.
Flicki-Flacka
When Flick sticks to what he does best, he proves to be lethal, like at Bayern Munich. His 4-2-3-1 system choked the opposition in his own box, took the ball by storm, and found quick and effective ways to create chances to score.
Ask Barcelona after Flick’s Bayern demolished the Catalans in 2020 (2-8). It was the Cules biggest loss in 70 years. Barcelona manager Quique Setien was sacked hours later. Pique, Messi and Suarez were vocal in the press about the need for change. Ronald Koeman, the manager who preceded Xavi at Barcelona, took over days later.
Regardless of whether Flick will be able to implement the same system in a country where low-block teams (those that wait in their third of the pitch, defending closely together and hoping for a counter) are more common than in Germany’s open style of football, some main concepts are expected.
High pressure, all the time. Flick is known for wanting to pin the opposition against its own goal, from the 1st to the 90th minute. He keeps rivals off-balance, and refuses to give them the ability to breathe, and build, from the back.
If the opposition does wriggle out of pressure, attacking players are expected to track back and keep pressuring the ball. During his first campaign at Bayern, it was common to watch as Thomas Müller stole the ball in the middle of the pitch. The team would then turn on a dime, and a full attack would follow; often with superiority in numbers against a defense struggling to track back. Leroy Sané, Lewandowski, or Müller himself would often have a chance to score only seconds later.
Possession is important, but chance creation trumps. Flick refuses to speculate with the ball. Think of it as the attacking antithesis of Garcia Pimienta’s Las Palmas: Flick’s teams charge up the field, use the flanks, and find through passes, and just as often crosses, to keep pushing and create chances to score. In the 19/20 season, Bayern scored 100 goals in the Bundesliga; 99 goals the season after. Bayern has not matched those numbers since.
It starts at the back. Away from some of the most dominating teams in Europe these days, with a midfielder stuck between the two central defenders in order to link up the play, Flick trusts that having two ball-playing defenders will negate the need for a midfielder so far down the pitch, giving them more opportunities to both be closer to and move faster towards goal.
This happened at Bayern as well, with Alaba and Boateng comfortable with the ball, which gave Kimmich and Goretzka freedom to be more involved on the attacking build up; Goretzka would push up higher down the field and join the attack, specially as an aerial threat, and Kimmich would stay slightly back and bring creative ways to restart the attack, send in a cross or a through pass, or take a shot.
Crosses are sexy. Expect a lot of crossing at Barcelona, especially if Flick develops the squad he will be hoping to build. The German prioritizes the flanks over the midfield in his style of play; incisive, fast players are non-negotiable, as well as a striker and an attacking midfielder who are both comfortable in the air, and able to play with their back to the goal to create chances for the wingers.
Behind them all, the right and left fullbacks take turns charging up the field, with one of them likely staying back and into a three-player defense (a style that Manchester City has mastered), and the other one pushing further up. When the game requires an unlock via a deep cross or a run into space, the other fullback will be asked to push up as well.
Conceding goals is acceptable. Such a style of play, pushing so high up the field without reservations, leaves plenty of space at the back between the defense and the goalkeeper. As it was the case with Bayern (the 2-3 loss to Paris Saint Germain in 2021 being a good example of this), ultra-pressure comes at a cost, and teams with the ability to counter quickly and with skill will find plenty of opportunities to score.
Players may change position. Hansi Flick’s decisions around who to play and where regardless of their experience to date have impacted a lot of high-profile players now considered the best at what they do. Canadian superstar Alphonso Davies was slowly growing as a winger before Flick exploded him into one of the best left backs in the world. David Alaba turned into a world class center back after being pulled out of that left back position; and world-class talent Kimmich, known for being a positional chameleon with a brain to match, is shining as a defensive midfielder, He was an established right back when Flick took over.
The German will look at players and be, in theory, unafraid to make decisions that land them in different positions. This could prove a problem with some of the traditional fanbase, who could turn to these situations when things don’t work out..
Setting expectations, man management, and physicality. Aside from the tactical aspect of his management in his career so far, Hansi Flick demands a communication style that is open and daily, forging relationships with players that will render the performance he needs out of them on the pitch. This could prove difficult in Spain for the first time in charge of a team that broadly does not speak his native language. It’s the reason other coaches like Simeone struggle to leave Spain, or why Unai Emery is often seen tripping over his words as his passion for what he is saying catches up to his domain of the English language. Making insightful, elaborated points in a non-native tongue is hard. This is likely the reason why news outlets are reporting that Flick and Barcelona are already looking to land Spanish-and-German speaking players who could act as the extension of the manager in the locker, like Thiago Alcantara.
Regardless of the potential language troubles, Flick will overall deploy a style of play that will be clear, specific, and especially after the national team failure, immovable. In Muller’s words while at Bayern: “He tells us what to do with consistency and without alternatives. We know what the player next to us is doing”.
This will likely be a breath of fresh air compared to the exiting manager; even though Xavi stuck to the 4-3-3 style Barcelona die-hard fans demand, the way in which the tactic was deployed was often lacking in shape, purpose or consistency, and often turning into a ball for Raphinha or Lamine Yamal to save the day.
Lastly but equally importantly, Hansi Flick demands that his players are in top physical shape, and if possible, increase their muscle size in order to increase their aggressiveness, pressuring abilities, and aerial superiority. During the COVID outbreak, several Bayern players notoriously put on muscle in the forced break, with some of them looking close to unrecognizable. Coutinho notoriously put on four kilograms (9lbs) of muscle.
If players like Pedri, Yamal, or Cubarsi join the fitness plan, Barcelona could benefit from it in the long term–especially when looking at the injury list year after year.
Aligning Flick's system with Barcelona's current squad
When imagining what Flick’s Barcelona could look like, some players stand out. First is the old guard, the players the German manager has coached in the past. They will prove invaluable both in the integration of the manager, and in the implementation of his system.
That list includes Robert Lewandowski, who is likely to play a Bayern’s Lewa/Muller hybrid role next season, scoring but also assisting plenty, as well as benefiting from set pieces and crosses. Ter Stegen was part of Flick’s German team as well, and with Neuer at Barcelona, the goalkeeper will continue to enjoy the spotlight as a ball-player goalkeeper.
Same is the case with Gündoğan, who Flick managed in the national team. The midfielder, about to turn 34, has the qualities needed, especially if we look at the need to perform, now. Gündoğancertainly has a year or two left in his career; this season, he led Barcelona in progressive carries of the ball and recoveries as well, and is the current free-kick specialist.
There are also those who have not played under Flick yet, but align with his style of play, at least on paper. That includes, above all, Lamine Yamal. His style of play is perfect for the job Flick will want him to perform, and if Flick’s fitness plans follow, we could be in the midst of a supernova of a player.
Other players, like Gavi, theoretically fit right into Flick’s system. The 19 year-old’s ability to be physical sometimes to a fault, his technique, and his attacking abilities will prove a great addition to the starting midfielders on paper, de Jong and Gundogan. If he comes back after his injury on a good note, we could see the best version of Gavi yet.
In defense, one player stands out: Jules Kounde. The Parisian has the passing ability and physicality Flick loves, and could prove a great anchor at the back, as well as an aerial threat. It may be that the defender could have the chance he has been waiting for to finally get the recognition he deserves from his fans.
Ronald Araujo is flawless in the air, on defense and attack, but constant transfer rumors originating from Barcelona hint at the club wanting a big influx of revenue to square the finances up. Flick could see in Cubarsi Barcelona’s Kimmich, being placed in different roles across the pitch and perhaps eventually being placed in midfield. The 17-year-old is certainly displaying mental abilities foreign to someone who is still unable to vote in an election in Spain.
Ferran Torres and Raphinha will need to change a lot of things about the way they play in order to gain the trust of the manager; specially defensively. On the sidelines is Vitor Roque, who especially in this system, would seem to be lost at sea, although the 19 year old still has so much room to grow.
Regardless of current players, there will be a need for new players over the summer. Laporta will likely not be able to find the funds for it unless players exit first. The return of Eric Garcia, on loan from Girona, could prove a good addition at the back, especially after the ball-playing defender’s amazing season at the neighboring club, including five goals scored in La Liga.
If Villarreal’s Alex Baena or Girona’s Aleix Garcia join the team, they would both fit right into this system; the first one behind Lewandowski, and the second one, playing with de Jong or Gundogan. Some aspects of their game, like Aleix’s switch to pushing forward over helping back, or Baena’s seemingly innate ability to earn uncalled for yellow cards when frustrated, will have to be worked on.
In the horizon, and as an almost unobtainable wish, stand players like Kimmich, himself, Davies, or young talent Jamal Musiala. The Bayern Munich player, who made his professional debut at age 17 under Hansi Flick, would be the kind of transfer the German manager would have made if he had just joined Manchester City or Real Madrid.
Not in Barcelona. In Xavi's own words, “The present situation has nothing to do with 25 years ago. The manager would come and say “I want this player, this one, and this one.” It doesn’t work like that anymore.”
Whatever the situation, Flick has landed in Barcelona, and the challenge is one that will make or break him, and Laporta, by extension. If he can find a way to get past politics, language, media, emotional turmoil, financial instability, a cold stadium, and all other things Barcelona, he will be seen as a genius, and Laporta, as a mastermind.
It will all come down to whether this club can stop chasing whatever version of “Barcelona DNA'' is out there in 2024, and whether they can let Flick bring some of his own DNA to an organization that historically prides itself on hanging on to the past.

Do rabies vaccines have side effects?
My 4 year old lab was neutered 3 days ago. His incision looks fantastic and everything is good on that end. They also wormed him and gave flea and tick preventative which hes had before. He's due his yearly shots next month but gets those every year.
However he'd never had a rabies shot before and they gave him his first the day of the surgery, assuring me it was fine despite the fact that I wanted to wait until he came to get his stitches out. I'm concerned a bit, he's still not eating much and drinking even less.
He's more tired than usual but I figure that's just because he had surgery. He doesn't seem irritable or anything like that and isn't bothering his stitches other than to occasionally sniff/lick himself once or twice very gently, which our vet said was fine and they quietly encourage as long as it's not becoming destructive. He still entertains the cat and his little sister (second pic) for a short minute or two but I try to shoo them off if they start getting too rowdy. He doesn't show much interest in his normal chews but is eating fine (a little less but that's par for the heat we have rn) and taking other treats. Honestly it's the drinking that kind of worries me. He usually get up around 4am and gets a little drink and then goes back to bed, but he's quit. He also usually drinks quite a bit after his breakfast and after coming in from his morning rounds (he literally walks around the perimeter of our 5 acres like 8 times) outside but has stopped that too. He's decreased the number of laps and only goes around 2 or 3 times but has zero interest in a drink when he comes in despite the fact its 90°f out and he's solid black. He's only getting up to drink maybe 3x a day right now. I tried placing the water next to his bed and he drinks from his bed when he wants to but it didn't seem to encourage him to drink more. I've also offered chicken broth and forced some electrolytes because our vet advised us to do it with other dogs in the past that wouldn't drink much, but that didn't do anything either. There are no signs of a uti and they gave him nexcel at the vet to prevent it. There also doesn't seems to be anything in his mouth that could be making him uncomfortable drinking. Could it be side effects of the vaccine where he's older or am I over reacting? Has anyone else had this kind of experience? I'm calling the vet Monday unless something changes before then and it becomes urgent but I'm hoping someone can put my mind at ease until then.

2024.05.26 06:31 svedal Mech Controls AREN'T Hardcoded: the Controls Config and You

PC divers, in your steam userdata directory is the controls config file, and it's the best documented and most capable controls config I've ever seen. A lot of controls that aren't exposed in the game's ui can be found in a bloody markdown file on an ArrowHead website.
You can easily bind an action to more than one key just by duplicating an input section. You can supposedly also use Overlap = 0.2 or a Chain statement to require multiple inputs (the one containing Overlap and the one immediately following) to trigger an action, but there aren't any examples in the defaults. (even with the uncertainty, it's still amazing).

I've reproduced important sections below.

The input settings file can be edited in any text editor. If you have cloud saves enabled it is here: [Steam install directory]\userdata\[userid]\553850\input_settings.config If you do not, then it is here: %APPDATA%\Arrowhead\Helldivers2\saves\[steamid]_input_settings.config Check the cloud save folder first, it is most likely there.
READ FIRST
Make a backup of the file before you start making changes, so you can revert more easily without losing your settings. Should you get stuck and be unable to boot the game, please report this (and attach your settings file) so we can make this more robust. Then delete the file to revert to defaults. You may need to briefly disable cloud saves if a broken file has been uploaded.

Settings in this file

Verbatim from the documentation.
The available settings values are (and defaults): ``` // Number of frames over which to smooth mouse input (zero means no smoothing). Note that this applies to the _movement_, not the position! mouse_smoothing_frames = 3 // If set (per axis) the look axis is inverted _when aiming down sights_ for gamepads. gamepad_scope_inverted_x = false gamepad_scope_inverted_y = false // If set (per axis) the look axis is inverted _when aiming down sights_ for mice. mouse_scope_inverted_x = false mouse_scope_inverted_y = false // If set (per axis) the look axis is inverted for gamepads gamepad_inverted_x = false gamepad_inverted_y = false // If set (per axis) the look axis is inverted for mice mouse_inverted_x = false mouse_inverted_y = false // Gamepad look sensitivity in first component, vertical multiplier in second. // Range is any valid real value. gamepad_sensitivity = [5 0.6] // Mouse look sensitivity, range is any valid real value. mouse_sensitivity = [0.072 0.072] // If zero or exactly one, no acceleration is applied. // Otherwise, mouse movement is scaled by the following formula: // movement = movement_after_sensitivity ^ acceleration // Settings menu shows this value offset by 1, so the settings range of [0, 3] maps to [1, 4], // essentially cutting off the deceleration part of the curve. mouse_acceleration = 1.0 // The first value is the speed at which we accelerate. [0,1] range, where 0 is disabling all feedback. haptics_rumble_strength = 1.0 ```

Default Controls

These include controls that are not exposed by default. Copying this section into the controls file will replace your binds with the defaults for all platforms, but lets you change them all in the file.
I massaged the formatting because sue me. The original is in the markdown file I linked at the top of this post, which ArrowHead saints linked at the top of the config file. You can remove the bindings for controllers you don't use, but this does unbind those controls for those devices!
Since I did technically make changes, I tested this by launching the game. It didn't crash. Caveat emptor, refer to the markdown file if you have doubts!

2024.05.26 06:31 Ihateeveryone98 Not really sure how I feel?

Started out on 25 mg at the beginning of March..upped my dose to 50 mg since the beginning of April. so almost 2 full months of being on 50 mg..and I’m not really sure how I’m feeling about it. I’ve noticed that it’s mellowed out my anxiety ALOT. But I want to smoke weed 24/7. I’m going through 2oz every 2-3 weeks..it just seems like so much. I can get through a double at work without it so I don’t need it but I crave it all the time. I am also so tired 24/7. No amount of sleep is enough. I could get a full 8 hours of sleep, get up around 10am and be napping by 1pm. My sex drive is gone.
I know these are common side effects based off of what I’ve read here..but I’m wondering what I should do here? I still feel like I’m fairly new to this drug and I don’t know if I’m being dramatic and not giving it a proper chance to see/feel a difference or if this is what it is and I should up the dosage or try something else?
Lmk your thoughts! Tyia.

🔗Automatic Resetting Airgun Target for Stress-Free Shooting Practice

https://preview.redd.it/wavafe7k6p2d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7ebcd005b72837bec1405aa4b0bcd3ddd3495ae0
The Birchwood Casey Airgun Gallery Resetting Target proved to be a reliable and durable accessory for my airgun. With its high-quality steel construction, the target remained sturdy even after countless lead pellet impacts. The innovative spin design of the target made it easy to use, as it automatically reset itself after each shot, saving me time and eliminating the hassle of manually resetting it.
One feature that stood out to me was the compact and portable design of the target. The lightweight construction and easy storage made it convenient to use in a variety of settings, making it perfect for airgun enthusiasts who enjoy practicing their skills outdoors or at a range.
However, one downside I experienced with the target was that it was designed specifically for lead pellets. This meant that attempting to use the target with anything else, such as 22 rimfire bullets, was not recommended due to potential damage to the target.
Overall, the Birchwood Casey Airgun Gallery Resetting Target provided a fun and effective way for me to practice my airgun shooting skills, thanks to its innovative features and reliable construction.

🔗Daisy NRA 5-Meter BB Targets for Enhanced Marksmanship and Championship Performance

I recently started practicing with a Daisy Air Rifle and noticed that improving my marksmanship was a key factor in mastering the sport. That's when I stumbled upon these official Daisy NRA 5-Meter BB Targets. They proved to be an essential addition to my training routine.
One striking feature was the precision and accuracy these targets provided. Perfect for honing my shooting skills, they're designed to help me feel confident, making my practice more productive. Another aspect I found fascinating was their bullseye illustration, which made targeting a breeze.
Additionally, their hanging mount proved quite practical as I could easily set them up for each session. What's more, each pack includes 50 targets, which, let's be honest, was more than I ever expected. This feature helped keep my training consistent and enjoyable.
Despite their excellent features, a drawback I discovered was that the targets weren't auto-resetting. It meant I needed to manually reset them between shots, which, while not detrimental, felt like an unnecessary extra step.
All in all, I found great value in the Daisy NRA 5-Meter BB Targets. They were reasonably priced, easy to order, and arrived promptly. Plus, their high rating speaks to their overall customer satisfaction. If you're looking to up your accuracy game, I'd give these targets a shot.

🔗Daisy Red Ryder Starter Kit - Pump BB Gun Accessories

The Daisy Red Ryder Starter Kit has been a game-changer in my household. It arrived at just the right time to complement my daughter's Red Ryder BB gun.
This kit has everything you could possibly need to kickstart a shooting adventure, including a durable gun sleeve, a tin of 25 assorted Red Ryder shooting gallery targets, and high-quality shooting glasses. The shooting glasses fit my daughter perfectly and she loves wearing them as they add a touch of coolness and safety to her shooting experience. The tin of BBs is conveniently designed and holds enough ammunition to keep the fun going for a while.
The targets, while simple, are perfect for honing her aim and precision. Overall, the Daisy Red Ryder Starter Kit has been an excellent investment, and I highly recommend it to any parent looking for a safe, fun, and affordable way to introduce their child to the thrill of target shooting.

🔗Daisy Red Ryder BB Gun Fun Shooting Kit

I recently tried the Daisy Red Ryder Fun Kit myself and had quite the adventure. Firstly, the set truly comes with everything you need for an exciting shooting experience. However, I must say, it took me a while to get used to it.
One of the key features of this kit is the renowned Red Ryder BB gun. It's smooth and easy to hold, but the accuracy was quite disappointing. I found myself missing targets more often than I would have liked. On the bright side, at least I could appreciate the classic design of the gun.
To enhance the shooting experience, the kit also comes with shooting glasses and a tin of BBs. I must admit, the glasses were convenient and provided some protection while I was busy aiming at targets. The BBs, however, seemed like a cheap alternative and didn't always penetrate the targets.
The fun paper targets provided were a nice touch, but the distance limitations of the gun took away some of the enjoyment. I had to be extremely close to hit the targets, and even then, it wasn't always accurate.
Overall, while the Daisy Red Ryder Fun Kit is a decent option for a beginner's shooting experience, I wouldn't recommend it for someone looking for better accuracy or quality. But if you're looking for an affordable and simple way to introduce a young one to the world of BB guns, it might just do the trick.

🔗Advanced Decelerator Rifle Cheek Pad for Enhanced Shooting Control

https://preview.redd.it/oxvfncvl6p2d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8103fea27ffc805de488a1d0b4ee8bc7aacafbb0
As an avid hunter, I had been searching for a recoil pad that offered both advanced control and easy installation. When I stumbled upon the Pachmayr Decelerator Slip-On Pad, I was excited to give it a try. Upon receiving the pad, I was impressed by its sleek design and the attention to detail in its construction. The installation process was a breeze, and I was thrilled to see how seamlessly it fitted onto my rifle.
One of the standout features of the Decelerator Slip-On Pad was its unique speed mount insert. This innovative design not only enhanced the pad's appearance but also improved its performance. I noticed a significant decrease in felt recoil, which made my shooting experience more comfortable and enjoyable. Furthermore, the pad's non-slip and snag-free design was perfect for my active hunting lifestyle.
However, there were a couple of minor drawbacks that I encountered. Firstly, the pad did add an inch to the overall length of my rifle, which could be a concern for some hunters. Secondly, while the pad was available in three sizes, I wished there were even more options to cater to a wider range of firearms.
In summary, the Pachmayr Decelerator Slip-On Pad has become an invaluable addition to my hunting gear. Its combination of advanced recoil control, sleek design, and easy installation makes it a worthwhile investment for any serious sportsman. Despite the minor drawbacks, I am confident that this pad will continue to perform exceptionally well during my hunting expeditions.

🔗Car Vinyl Wrap Film for Remarkable Personalized Looks

Recently, I tried out the Vicrez vzv10121-3 Vinyl Car Wrap Film in Matte Black Iron for a DIY project. The 5ft x 3ft wrap was easy to work with and came with a vast selection of colors, patterns, and finishes to choose from. Although it does require some basic installation knowledge, the wraps are simple to apply and can easily be removed without damaging the car's paint.
One of the standout features of this wrap is its air release technology, which makes for a smooth and effortless installation process. Additionally, the realistic car paint look provides an enhanced appearance for a fraction of what a traditional paint job would cost. The material is also incredibly durable, with a lifespan of 4-6 years for exterior applications and 8+ years for interior use.
However, the matte black color of my chosen wrap did prove somewhat challenging to work with at times. Also, the installation process can be tricky if you don't have experience with vinyl wraps, so it's definitely worth having some knowledge beforehand. Overall, the Vicrez Vinyl Wrap offers a stylish and functional solution for adding a personalized touch to your car or any other surface it can be applied to.

I recently had the chance to try out the Quiet-Flo Safety Nozzle from Flexzilla, and I have to say, it exceeded my expectations! The modular accessories system made it incredibly easy to customize the length of my extension and the tips for any job I tackled. It also met OSHA standards for professional use, giving me peace of mind as I worked.
The nozzle was perfect for my mechanics and automotive workshop, and it genuinely made my Flexzilla blow gun even better. While the nozzle was quite sturdy and held up well under pressure, it seemed a bit more challenging to twist and bend than I would have liked. Still, that minor inconvenience didn't stop me from enjoying the countless benefits of this nifty little safety nozzle. This product truly lives up to its 5.0 rating and is definitely worth trying out.

🔗Improve Accuracy with the Daisy Red Ryder Shooting Gallery Accessory

https://preview.redd.it/ezgqa41n6p2d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fb673850a598aae5a75b4405eccfa371bf21becd
Last week, I stumbled upon the Daisy Red Ryder Shooting Gallery while hunting for some new gear for my daughter's Red Ryder BB gun. As a parent, I thought this would be an excellent way to improve her shooting accuracy and provide hours of indoor fun for the whole family. With 25 assorted targets included, I was excited to give it a try.
The moment I opened the box, I was impressed by the simplicity of the design. It's just a small box with a rubber backing, and the targets easily punch out and attach to the front. The bottom trap efficiently collects the BBs, making it easy to reuse them for future sessions. Additionally, the rubber backing effectively stops BBs up to 350 fps, making it safe for indoor use.
However, there were some challenges I encountered during my experience. As a parent, I worried about the box being sturdy enough to withstand the force of the BBs. Although the included weight helped keep it steady, I still had to place it on a flat surface to prevent it from blowing over.
Additionally, I noticed that the product did not live up to the expectations set by the product images. The images show a gun carrying case and more accessories than what was delivered. While this was not a deal-breaker for me, it made me wonder if other customers had similar experiences.
Overall, the Daisy Red Ryder Shooting Gallery proved to be a fun and convenient way to practice our shooting skills, despite the lack of sturdiness and some unexpected differences from the advertised images.

🔗Stainless Steel PCP Charging System for Air Rifles

As a reviewer, I have to say the Benjamin PCP Charging System is quite the handy device for PCP air rifle users. When I first received it, I was amazed at how lightweight it was, making it incredibly convenient for carrying around. One nifty feature that caught my attention was the built-in pressure gauge that allowed for precise filling.
The system's construction has been quite impressive as it is made from carbon fiber, which prevents corrosion. It is also quite durable, offering peace of mind during long periods of use. However, there was a minor downside – the micro bore hose seemed a bit too short, making it a bit challenging to fill my PCP air rifle.
The inclusion of a stainless steel fill connection was another plus, as it ensured long-lasting use without any significant problems. The tank also filled quite quickly with my hand pump, providing great convenience and efficiency.
Overall, the Benjamin PCP Charging System has exceeded my expectations, offering a perfect balance between convenience, portability, and performance. I particularly appreciate how it has made refilling my PCP air rifle much faster and more enjoyable, making it a must-have accessory for any PCP air rifle enthusiast.

🔗Revel 1TR1AA002R VLS 52mm Water Temperature Gauge with OLED Display and Sensor

I remember using the Revel VLS 52mm Water Temp Gauge on my air rifle just last season. The gauge is quite compact, making it perfect for small space mounting, like underneath my scope. The display is simply brilliant - it's digital OLED, which offers a deeper black and sharper contrast, delivering a crystal clear image that's easily readable even from a distance.
One of the cool features was its 30 LED outer ring. When I'm taking aim in low light conditions, it gave me the perfect level of visibility. Plus, its daisy chain compatibility made it so easy to attach multiple gauges without needing several power cords.
The included water temp sensor is another key feature. It helps me to monitor the engine's temperature even when I'm out in the field, ensuring everything runs smoothly. The mounting kit that comes with the gauge makes installation a breeze.
However, nothing's perfect, right? I did notice the water temp gauge tends to be a bit sensitive to vibrations if I'm not careful with handling it. Overall, though, it's a reliable and efficient little gauge that's made a big difference in my shooting session, and I highly recommend it.

I recently bought the Vicrez magnetic fluorescent green car wrap for my truck, and I must say, I am impressed. It took a little bit of effort to apply it properly, but the air bubble release feature made it a lot simpler than I had anticipated. The wrap itself has a fantastic chameleon finish, which makes my truck look absolutely stunning.
One of the things I appreciate the most about this wrap is its removability. I can easily take it off at any time without damaging the original paint on my truck. It's reassuring to know that my vehicle's resale value remains intact.
The stretchability is another remarkable feature. It can stretch up to 300%, which makes the application process even more effortless. I was particularly thrilled when I found out that this wrap can be applied to complex curves, simple curves, flat surfaces, and even some compound, convex, and concave curves.
The only downside was the learning curve - it took some time to get the hang of applying the wrap without messing it up. But once I got the hang of it, the results were impressive. Overall, the Vicrez magnetic fluorescent green car wrap is a fantastic product that I highly recommend.

I recently had the opportunity to try out the Vicrez Vinyl Car Wrap Film in Chrome Satin Red, and I must say, I was quite impressed with the results! The installation process was a breeze with the help of the air release technology, and the vinyl was easy to work with, even for a novice like me.
One of the top features of this wrap is its realistic car paint look, which gives your vehicle a whole new dimension. It's also highly restorable, allowing for a quick fix if any wrinkles show up during installation. The vinyl is removable too, without damaging your car's paint, so you can switch up the look when you feel like it.
However, it's essential to note that the wrap isn't as easy to reposition once applied, so make sure you have your design in mind before finalizing the installation. The film is also quite thick at 6.4 mil, which adds to the durability but might make it a bit more challenging to apply in tight spaces.
Overall, I had a great experience using this wrap and would highly recommend it for anyone looking to give their car a unique, stylish makeover without breaking the bank. Plus, the wide variety of colors, textures, and finishes available ensures that you'll find the perfect fit for your vehicle.

The 4500psi Airrifle Air Gas Filling Pump is a sturdy and durable device that has saved me a lot of time and effort when it comes to air rifle maintenance. The high-pressure hand pump's built-in oil-water separator and ergonomic handle make it comfortable to use, while the foldable design allows for easy storage and transportation.
One of the most notable features of this pump is its precise pressure gauge. It provides easy-to-read parameters and ensures that I fill my PCP cylinders safely and accurately. Additionally, the complete accessory kit comes with O-rings and tools suitable for most PCP pistols, rifles, and air guns, making it a versatile option for various applications.
However, I did encounter a minor issue with its 301 stainless steel construction, as it required extra force to operate at higher pressure levels. This could be a potential concern for users with limited upper body strength.
Overall, I'm quite satisfied with the performance of this 4500psi Airrifle Air Gas Filling Pump. It's a cost-effective and efficient option for anyone looking to maintain their air rifle with ease.

2024.05.26 06:23 icecap79 The story of how I am about to die

I have only fallen in love twice in my life. My first love was these old arctic mountains where I live, and the second was the woman who convinced me to leave these mountains 8 years ago.
I shot that woman dead a few weeks back because my first love asked me to, whispering to me from thousands of miles away. I did it because I missed hearing the sound of that whisper. I did it because I needed to hear that whisper in person again. I’m only saying all this because very soon I am going to die, and I cannot bear to take all this with me to the grave.
I moved back to the mountains just this week to a house well outside a remote little town. My new neighbors have been all nice to me since I lied to them that my wife shot herself. I almost couldn’t help laughing when the sweet old lady across the road brought a delicious baked lasagna to my door yesterday. As a sympathy gift I’m sure.
Anyway, my new property in the mountains is gorgeous; 100 acres of frozen forest wilderness with just a few neighbors across the road. I even have a small lake to myself a ways back in the woods. Every night since I’ve arrived I’ve been taking walks through that wilderness, listening to the mountains whisper. Each night, they’ve been beckoning me farther and farther into those woods, whispering my name in the icy wind.
Tonight on my walk, I stumbled upon the entrance to an old mine. The light from my phone flashlight didn’t reach far when I peered timidly inside. As I turned to go, I heard a rasping voice echo from within the mine. “HELLLLLP” it cried. After nearly pissing myself in surprise, I yelled back into the mine asking what was the problem. There was no response. I tried again. And again. Then, the voice cried out again screaming “HELP ME.” It sounded distorted like it had echoed some distance through the tunnel. I noticed another set of footprints in the snow leading to the mine. They were recent.
I tried to call 911, but I couldn’t. I had service, but the calls just weren’t going through for some reason. I thought about going back to the house and trying the phone there, but a desperate “PLEASE, SOMEONE I NEED HELP” from the mine made me worried that it might take too long. I wondered what someone else had been doing exploring MY property at night anyway. I thought I ought to have just left them there to let it serve them right, but with another pleading cry from the mine, I decided not to add any more weight to my conscious by walking away and maybe letting someone die.
Carefully, I went into the mine, watching over my shoulder as the moonlight in the door faded into a spec behind me as I slowly walked forward, following the whimpering cries for help. The tunnel was narrow and completely dark, with a strange stink to it, like the smell of burned hair. I did not want to be in there a second longer than I needed to. It gave me the creeps.
Soon, I got to a fork where the tunneling split off into two branches. On the floor was a sticky note with two arrows drawn on it. One arrow pointed down the tunnel I had just walked, and another pointed down the tunnel branching off to the right.
It gave me a funny feeling. A bad feeling. But I heard another piercing “HELLLP” from the right hand tunnel and suddenly it made sense. The person in trouble must’ve left it behind to avoid getting lost. They must have left arrows pointing the way they came and the way they were going so that they could trace their path back to the entrance. Still, something seemed off.
The voice cried out again, sounding pretty close. I yelled back. There was still no response. I thought about turning around and Christ knows I should have, but I could not stand the thought of having another life on my hands to haunt me with my wife in my nightmares. I did not want to hear those bone chilling screams for help every time I closed my eyes. I knew that they would curse my dreams for the rest of my life if I walked away. I already had one too many dead people on my conscience. Besides, the distressed person didn’t sound too far away.
I was wrong about that for sure. I continued though that cold mine for a long while more. Following the flashlight on my phone through the total blackness. The tunnel got narrower and colder as I went. I felt like my bones themselves were freezing. The cries always sounded close, but really the echoing effect was just deceiving me. I came to many more forks with sticky notes. Each note always with two arrows. One pointing the way the person had went and one pointing the way out. I kept calling out to the person in distress but they still didn’t answer me. They just kept yelling for help. How could I hear them screaming so loudly but they couldn’t hear me at all?
Then, I heard them again. They HAD to be close judging by the sound of that scream. I was certain they were just down the left tunnel at the fork I had just come to. The 9th fork I had come to at that. Hurrying, I rushed down that tunnel, crying out to them as I went. There was light! The first I’d seen in awhile. It came from a grate in the ceiling, where a long shaft must’ve vented in air. In that light, I saw a wall at the other side of the tunnel. It was a dead end. Nobody was here. I was confused, I was sure that last scream had come from here. The arrow on the last note had pointed this way too.
Then I had a horrifying thought. Why would there need to be two arrows on each note for the person to find their way out? Why wouldn’t there just be one arrow to point to the path to the exit? I ran back down the tunnel, and to my horror, the sticky note at the fork there was gone. I searched the floor for it but it just wasn’t there. Panicking, I began to frantically run back through the mine, taking my best guess at the way I had come. All of the sticky notes were gone.
I was overjoyed when I saw moonlight at the end of the tunnel I had come to. I ran toward it panting, dying to leave this horrible place. To my disappointment, I realized that the light was coming from the grate at the ceiling, not from the entrance. I was back at the dead end. Somehow I had gotten lost and run in a circle.
Then, I saw a small figure step into the moonlight from the grate. Assuming it was the person I was here to help, I cried out to them and ran towards them. As I got closer, I recognized the figure. It was the sweet old lady from across the street. Why was she smiling like that? Why was she naked? What was that rectangular object she was holding? “Are you ok?” I asked in confusion. She took a sheet of tin foil off of the top of the object, revealing a baked lasagna in a small pan. She pulled out a fork and took a bite, sauce spilling on her chin. I waited for her to finish chewing, too confused to know how to react. “Fine!” she said swallowing, “Fine! Yep! I’m doing fine! Just fine and dandy!” She held out a fork of lasagna for me to take a bite. I looked at the fork. To my horror, it was not lasagna.
It appeared to be sheets of human skin, covered in small hairs and stacked in layers of goopy bloody sauce like a lasagna.
I don’t know if I screamed. I can’t remember. I only remember that terrible laugher echoing behind me as I ran away. I ran and ran, faster than I knew I could, turning random corners, just trying to put as much distance as possible between me and that lady. Her sickening laughter echoed everywhere. I heard it from all directions. I needed to get out of there. I tripped on something, I don’t know what, and I think I passed out. Then I think I remember being carried? I know I remember the laughing. I think I was unconscious.
I woke up just 10 minutes ago about. I’m missing my arms. My arm stubs hurt so bad. I’m not in the mine anymore. I’m standing on a frozen lake.
There’s a chain around one of my ankles. It goes through a hole in the ice. I think there’s a weight attached at the bottom of it. Judging by the strength of the chains pulling on my ankle I don’t think the weight has reached the lake floor. In fact I don’t think that there is a lake floor at all. Also beneath the ice is a dead woman floating in the water. A beautiful dead woman. A dead woman with a bullet hole in her head. I don’t know how she’s here.
The ice is melting fast. Even now I can hear the first pops as it begins to crack. If I look into the dead woman’s eyes the ice will stop melting. That’s what the old lady tells me at least. I tried for a second to meet the corpse’s dead gaze and it worked. The melting stopped. But I could not look for long. I could not bear it. I could not stand to look at what I had done. I’d rather the ice melt. I’d rather that chain drag me under the freezing black water than see the blankness in those eyes for a moment more.
That wretched old lady is still here. Sitting naked in the snow on the shore. She’s watching me, cackling through mouthfuls of her disgusting lasagna. I don’t want to look at her either. The ice is getting thin now, I feel it starting to crack beneath my feet. Oh god. Why me?

2024.05.26 06:22 Exver1 A Deep Qualitative Look into Pantheon's Kit

Hello everyone, this will be a long one. First, I wanted to discuss Pantheon's thematic concept and thematic playstyle. Both of these terms are subjective. Then, I wanted to analyze his current state and kit to get a better understanding and highlight his strengths and weaknesses. Then I made some small, large, and redesigning suggestions for the champion. This document is about 13 pages single space. I hope you enjoy.
Thematic Concept Thematic concept refers to his out of game concept, clearly being a mix of a spartan warrior and partially a vessel of a god of war. What stands out in the character is the combination of spear and shield. As a vessel of the god of war, there is an expectation that his fighting is flexible to be both offensive and defensive as well as dueling and large combat prowess. This works well with the spear and shield combat as both Spartans and gladiators often used this combination of weapons. Spartans could create a protective front line and pierce enemies from behind the shield wall. In formation, they could use their shields to push enemies back and stab when opponents were knocked off balance. Gladiators with spears and shields are very defensive and it only takes a few pokes and some endurance to whittle away at your opponent until you go in for the kill (or they surrender). As a vessel of a god of war, we want to embody these two characters as well as being a durable fighter. He should be bulky, someone on the front line who's not afraid to get into the thick of it while maintain this offensive and defensive balance.
Thematic Playstyle The thematic playstyle should flow from the thematic concept. These two concepts should match to the best of their abilities. Obviously the game has to have some balance and a space dragon and guy with a shotgun should be able fight on a more or less even playing field. Pantheon currently has two distinct playstyles: fighter, and glass cannon.
If above the curve, his glass cannon builds can 100-0 most isolated squishy targets, and if not can leave them very low on health (or kill them if they are below 100%). Usually the playstyle looked like this: ult onto target or surprise from a bush or flank >> empowered w (+3 quick autos) >> q >> auto >> e >> empowered q. There's not a lot of mechanical skill in this playstyle, the skill comes from your ability to set up the kills (map awareness, timing, understanding current vision control, know when to push and then duck into cover). The main reason I didn't call this an assassin build is because assassins are usually defined by their slipperiness. Assassins are meant to get a kill and then slip out. However, they usually can slip out of ganks easily with their dashes or other mobility spells. Pantheon is meant to be a frontline/diver in his thematic concept and playstyle and so he doesn't have this ability to slip out of a gank (unless you want to use your 3 (down to 2:30 minute ultimate cooldown which can easily be cancelled if the enemy is in range). Pantheon does have his empowered e, which does help him escape these ganks if near a turret (or allies), but with it's long cd as well being the only defensive tool, pantheon becomes a sitting duck if ganked in a long lane (particularly in the mid/late game). What this playstyle means a lot of the time is that you're clearing waves and clearing waves, running away at the sight of an opponent (even if it's just one), then clearing some more waves, and then try to find a good ult when objectives are spawning. This glass cannon build plays super scared, does not want to be in a fight, but can often be more successful since getting a pick in the early/middle game puts the enemy carries behind; and getting picks in the middle/late game leads to objective control as well as top laners being less valuable than carries. Let's also be clear that if you cannot get a kill on a carry (usually because the support protects them), then you will die 95% of the time with no recompense. There is a thematic mismatch between this playstyle and his concept. It's not a mechanical playstyle, since you're just landing all of your abilities while a target is stunned for half of the time and running away; it's not a tactical playstyle, because you're not baiting out abilities, spacing the opponent, or waiting for your cd's; but it is strategic in the general sense that you have to be a strong macro player to play pantheon well, however I would argue that this is not part of Pantheon's thematic concept (although in general I don't think many champions fall under a "strategic" concept, with maybe the exception of Swain and Teemo). More importantly, with his glass cannon build, there is no balance between spear and shield (offense and defense), it's all spear. There's no front line soldier who gets into the thick of it, only a coward that runs away. There's no culmination of small victories (winning small trades) until your opponent dies or has to surrender, it's just a one-shot from a surprise angle. I like Pantheon's glass cannon build solely because I win more with this build.
Pantheon's fighter build is closer to matching his thematic concept. His trading patterns are a longer, he can last longer in combat, and he is threatening enough that he can dissuade kills. His major strengths come from his point-and-click stun which counters pretty much all assassins in team fights as well as gets picks for your allies. Pantheon's kit is indeed strong and so his bruiser build functions well on low economy. All he really needs is a black cleaver and another defensive fighter item (DD or Maw depending on matchup, which you end up getting first) and he's off to the races (this is Keegun's - NA challenger pantheon main - current build suggestion for pantheon). It's almost always better to gives your teammates the gold in team fights because they are more gold efficient than Pantheon. Similarly, it's also better to give your jungler the kill when they gank your lane (top lane) because they can use the gold and affect the map better. This is also partially how jungle and support Pantheon function, they become a stun bot so that their teammates can collect the goal. Pantheon's fighter build still suffers from similar issues as his glass cannon build where he can be run down in the long lane. If even, most (if not all) duelists and tanks will win the 1v1 at 3 items+ if both Pantheon and his opponent are at 100% hp. In many cases where Pantheon goes even in the trade, Pantheon will find his enemy life stealing against the wave. Even if Pantheon went a life steal build, he will find himself running out of mana quickly and so it is better to give his opponent the push, which impairs his ability to move to a team fight, ultimately taking away one of his major strengths. Regarding the flow from thematic concept to thematic playstyle, Pantheon's bruiser build gets closer to mending the two with his ability to be in the thick of a fight for a little bit, but even this aspect doesn't stand out amongst the other bruisers in the game; he becomes as tanky as camille or fiora, but without their late game upside. He doesn't balance offense and defense; or spear and shield; burst and endurance. With this build, he's not a vessel of the god of war, he's a sidekick who helps feed his teammates.
Pantheon's Current State Pantheon's glass cannon build seems to be his best performing build, but this is partially because this build becomes more effective when he's played mid lane. As mentioned earlier, he can one-shot squishy targets with this build and so it makes sense that playing in a lane that typical plays squishy champions (mages, assassins) pantheon is able to excel. Riot Phreak said in his recent patch notes rundown video that they have to be careful when buffing Pantheon because his win rate is strong in the mid lane, which comes from the common matchups that he plays against. Based on the previous section, it's likely that the best changes for Pantheon would be to diminish his strength as a glass cannon. I'm going to largely talk about top lane (I'm most familiar with this role for Pantheon) because this is where the fighter class general thrives, but also because his role in other positions is more one-dimensional (as explained in the glass-cannon section).
Early Game/Lane Phase
In top lane and mid lane, pantheon's lane phase is largely similar. Usually the difference between playstyle is based less on lane and more on the range of the opponent. Pantheon has clear mana problems (I will get into this in my section on each of his abilities). In lane, he can usually use his full kit twice (essentially 2 e's, 3 w's before fully oom, not including q's). Other than his e, which drains him of mana, he has no defensive mechanics in his kit. He technically has his w to stun someone and walk away, but this doesn't negate damage nor does it sustain him - it also drains him of mana. So Pantheon relies on his Q in lane to poke to a point where his full combo is enough to get the enemy low. This is a strong strategy early game, but if you don't get his poke off, the enemy can easily all-in you from levels 3-5. So usually Pantheon succeeds on hard pushing the first wave to hit level 2 first - if the enemy doesn't respect the level 2, then they will lose the trade pretty hard. However, depending on the matchup, Pantheon can lose the level 1 and if the other player is aware of the matchup, then Pantheon is playing on the backfoot for a while. If the opponent respects the level 2, then they back up and usually nothing happens and you can get a cheater recall off (if perfect success, you have 450g which goes to boots + refillable). After first back, Pantheon excels at his poke trade patterns, and it's important that he is either freezing or crashing waves against his opponent. He's very good at not letting opponents freeze a wave assuming both Pantheon and his opponent are equal. However, if he's behind and frozen on, he will struggle greatly because he loses pretty much every all-in (from 100%) after level 3. As mentioned earlier, one of his strengths is to whittle the opponent down, but as long as they respect his range; Pantheon can't do much about it. This is where the jungler plays a crucial role for Pantheon top. Pantheon is great for setting up dives for most junglers and so he works very well with carry/damage oriented junglers. If Pantheon gets ahead, as long as his opponents don't give him a freeze and they respect Pantheon, Pantheon is very bad at pushing his lead in lane. If Pantheon keeps receiving help for the dives, it's likely his other lanes will start losing. This is why it's best for jungler teammates to gank early to get themselves ahead and transition their lead to winning the rest of the map. At this point, Pantheon's goals change to winning the lane through farm, not dying to ganks, and finding opportune moments to roam (particularly mid lane).
Mid Game
As the data suggests (I use lolalytics), Pantheon's win rate falls off a cliff in the mid game (and then comes back up a bit in the end game). The main reason, I believe, that Pantheon loses a lot of his win rate in the mid game is because he loses his poke-trade pattern. When tier-1 turrets fall, the lanes become longer and so enemies either give him the push, they all-in him in the long lane, or he gives them the push. Since his ultimate is 3 minutes long from levels 6-10 (and 2:30 from 11-15), he basically only has an ultimate once every 5 minutes for when dragon spawns. If Pantheon doesn't save his ultimate for objective spawn, he will find it very difficult to be effective in the team fight. It will require running to the fight early (or pushing strong, which means your mid laner (who is running tp) needs to cover weak side, which means you're fighting for position around the objective without your mid lane carry, which puts you at a disadvantage), and finding a good flank. Because he loses his poke trade pattern, he cannot 100-0 bruisers, he's often just farming up and waiting for fights. This is a fairly underwhelming trade pattern and can lead to Pantheon mains likely getting bored and starting unideal fights. Overall, his play pattern changes the most after the early game when the enemy opponent is not required to interact with Pantheon in a shorter lane.
Late Game
Late game has similar problems to early game, but his win rate stabilizes to 50% likely because of the confounding variable where a team that cannot beat Pantheon's team by 30 minutes, it could be because Pantheon's teammates are farther ahead and scale better. This is not to say Pantheon scales poorly. Pantheon's scaling is difficult to define. If Pantheon can stun or kill an enemy carry late game, his team will likely win the game. With Black cleaver and BotRK, Pantheon can also hold off most split pushers. However, he's not a win condition and is not great at applying pressure. He's good at taking one tower at a time if his team plays safe and enemy top laner doesn't have TP up, but since he cannot dive or all-in well, he cannot pressure an enemy in the 1v1.
Pantheon's Kit and Stats In this section, I will be looking at Pantheon's current kit to analyze the strengths and weaknesses. I will cover both their numbers, relative to other champions in his class as well as his former kit, and their concept. I will then discuss some of his base statistics. To save a bit of time reading, I will not be displaying the full text of each ability.
Passive - Mortal Will
Pantheon's passive is likely the most problematic part about his kit. Conceptually, it's generic. Pantheon's current passive requires him to have 5 stacks, which can be stacked from either autos or abilities, which can then empower one of his basic abilities. Previously, pantheon needed 4 stacks, which would cause the next basic attack to be blocked. Additionally, Pantheon's old W (same ability more or less) would give him his passive immediately and keep the stack counter the same. This means at 3 stacks, Pantheon could W a target, that target's auto would be blocked, then pantheon would auto, and the target's next auto would be blocked again. The old passive gave him a unique defensive tool which matched his thematic concept with his thematic playstyle. It also gave him tactical depth because he could W an opponent before their empowered auto to negate the damage. His current passive does not give him the same tactical depth, and actually limits his depth because of how reliant he is on empowered W as part of his trade pattern. It does offer you the choice though if you would like to kill your opponent immediately with empowered Q or chase them down a bit if you need a few more autos with empowered E (or just run away). But even if you did believe that his passive adds some depth, it still has two other major issues. The first is that it encourages Pantheon to be more auto-based. None of his kit except this part encourages auto attacks, nor does thematic concept or playstyle revolve around an auto-based kit. He's a midrange ad spell casting fighter, akin to Jayce, but instead of a melee/range form he should have a offensive/defensive balance. The second major issue with his passive is that it frontloads too much of his power into his basic abilities, which creates balance issues.
Q - Comet Spear
This is Pantheon's bread and butter, but it still has problems. To start with empowered Q, this may be one of the most satisfying abilities, but it's just too strong. His regular Q deals about half damage. While his poke in lane is good, it's not as good as it used to be. Pantheon used to have a Q that dealt 75/115/155/195/235 (+140 bonus AD), with a 4s CD, point and click and is 600 range. Pantheon's current regular Q deals 70/100/130/160/190 (+115% bonus AD) with a 4.4-3.2s CD, aoe skill shot, and 560 range. Old Pantheon used to fall off heavily after level 9 because his old Q was so weak, and it's a similar story now. In lane, this is a great ability; however, base weak is just very weak in all-ins. The other frustrating thing about his Q is its thrown version. Since this ability is his bread and butter, if you use the thrown version, it becomes an 11-second CD rather than 4.4s. This means you basically have to back off after using thrown Q. Therefore, the only time you should be using it is when you've clearly won the fight and you're looking for chip-damage or you're trying to execute. In the first case, it's pretty meaningless because they'll just back at this point. In the second case, it's great! However my point is that thrown Q is a fake part of the spell, it does more harm than good when using it. It gets worse though, since if you try to use thrown Q through a minion wave, it gets reduced by 50% if thrown through a minion wave. It has its fringe uses, but I think it has room for improvement. In general, I think this is a great ability, but it must be remembered when looking at solutions for this champion.
W - Shield Vault
This is Pantheon's best ability, for the reasons listed above. A point-and-click stun is just strong. I think everything about this ability is fair; however, it may even be too strong, and changing the ability so that it's not point-and-click should be considered. The big issue with his W is it's empowered version. There are two problems and a big consideration with this ability. The first problem The first problem is that the three auto attacks are just so strong with on-hit. I considered BotRK to be Pantheon's best item by far last patch because the 3 auto's at 12% current health was the only thing winning him 1v1s. Similarly, Pantheon is able to stack conqueror, black cleaver, and PTA well with this combo. While this may sound like a benefit to him, it moves away from a preferred thematic concept. This leads into my second point, the three autos feel small with the quick animation and high pitch audio. They're three little stabs, and when you don't go BotRK, they really don't deal much damage. Thematically, this just feels bad, it feels like an ability that xin zhao, fiora, gwen, irelia, kat, shaco, or talon would have. When it comes to playstyle, there's no skill expression with this second part either, it's just the same W and since their stunned and your auto attack timer is up, it's basically just a free "combo". The consideration that needs to be made is how it stacks Pantheon's passive. While it did fully stack the old passive, his old passive was... passive, it wasn't part of his offensive trade pattern. Pantheon's current trade pattern almost always starts with empowered W because it becomes a free empowered Q (or E sometimes). His W being a passive stacking mechanic is what brings down the depth of his trade pattern.
E - Aegis Assault
Pantheon's E is pragmatically his most problematic ability. It's pragmatically problematic (rather than thematically) because the base ability is so strong (there's a theme here if you can't tell). Because it's so strong, the CD is super high, the damage is low, the empowered E got heavily nerfed a few seasons ago, and the mana cost is also high. To compare his current E to his old E: Current E has a CD from 22-18, costs 80 mana, and deals 55-255 (+150 bonus AD). Old E used to have a 10-6 CD, cost 45-65 mana, and dealt 100-300 (+300% bonus AD). Yes, you're reading that right. 300 + 300% bonus ad on a 6s CD with only 65 mana, which you would get at level 9 if maxed first. Talon R total physical damage (hits both parts) deals 360 (+200% bonus AD) at level 16. I'm not suggesting to return Pantheon's current E to similar damage, I am just trying to highlight how much damage was lost in Pantheon's kit. If I recall correctly, Pantheon was around 54% wr top consistently prior to being reworked; nowadays he sits below 50% as a "simple" champion (he's currently ranked 65/95 champions according to lolalytics over the last 30 days in emerald+). The two main issues with this ability are it's cooldown as well as its mana cost. Pantheon has 1 defensive ability and it feels like you only get to use this as a last resort. It feels like you don't get to play with the shield as a spear and shield guy. And when you do use it, you're severely punished mana-wise. Lastly, his empowered E just feels bad. Rarely do I use empowered E offensively, and it's much more likely that I use it to run away after. Although since the movement speed is small and only lasts 1.5s, you're likely to get caught afterwards in a long lane, which is why he has to play so scared in the long lane. However, even if you do escape, he's not (nor feels like) the champion that tanks in a fight and stays, he tanks a bit and runs away. Again, playing with a cowardly playstyle.
I want to compare his defensive ability to that of other champions in the same class. On top of Camille's mobility and healing, her passive shields every 14-10s (lvl 1-13). Fiora W costs 50 mana and CD is 24-16s. Gangplank W costs 60-100 mana (usually 60 since maxed last) and CD is 22-14. Riven E is manaless and the cd is 10-6s. Gwen W is 60 mana and CD is 22-18s. Irelia W is 70-90 mana and CD is 20-12s. Jax E is 50-90 mana and 15-9 CD. Olaf W is 50 mana and is 16-12 CD. Sett W is manaless and 18-12 cs. Volibear E is 60 mana and CD is 12s. Assuming Pantheon can even survive in the 1v1 after a full use of spells, all of these champions will have big defensive spells up like 4-8s sooner than Pantheon. During the early game, his ability is more mana hungry and his E loses in often 3 different ways compared to his fighting counterparts. What's most important though is that Pantheon's shield should be defining in his playstyle, but since you can't use it often, you feel like you're just the spear guy.
R - Grand Starfall
Pantheon's R has remained the same the most compared to all of his abilities through the rework. One thing to note is that his ult used to be 2:30-2:00 CD while his current ult is 3:00-2:30, which feels a bit bad. But all global abilities in League have been strong and so they need to be gated behind a long cooldown. I think this is more or less okay, and his ultimate does play into his thematic concept and playstyle well. I think his old ultimate had a bit more oomf to it but both of them are betteworse in minor ways. I think there is a way to reimagine this ability in a following section, but for now I think this is a great ability that needs to be changed the least. However, the 30% armor penetration that was added to his kit a few seasons ago is a band aid solution. In fact, it what makes his glass cannon build so much stronger because lethality becomes more gold effective on him.
Base Statistics
Mana - Pantheon has a starting mana of 317, which puts him the bottom 3rd of base starting mana as a spell-casting (rather than auto based) melee fighter (let's also remember that much of top lane are manaless champions). Pantheon is in the bottom 15% of champions for mana mana growth per level (31/lvl). In the list of champions with a worse growth coefficient are all mages; the next 3 are auto-based fringe top laners (ww, nocturne, quinn), while Poppy - a champion with 2 possible mana items that they are able to purchase in their class - is the next closest (40/lvl). Camille and Jax are the next comparable champions (52/lvl).
For Pantheon's other stats, he usually is in the realm of the fighter class (which has higher base stats on average) but is usually near the bottom in his class. However, it should be noted that his base health regen and health regen coefficient are both low for his class, and without any healing or cheap shielding in his kit, he will often get out endured in a lane where he doesn't have good opportunities to back. For a champion who's playstyle should be partially about sustained fighting, he is bad at it from a base statistics perspective.
Small Changes These are my band aid solutions. These are direction suggestions and the exact numbers shouldn't be taken literally. Also, since I'm including multiple suggestions, I know that adding all or even multiple of them will make Pantheon overpowered. These are just the directions I suggest the balance team should take.
Q: Have the base Q scale harder off of bonus AD (remember old Pantheon Q had +140%). Compensate by nerfing Q5 base damage by a bit or nerfing empowered Q base scaling.
Q: Either make thrown Q able to deal full damage through minions, or reduce cool down of thrown Q. If cool down is reduced, nerf tap Q cool down refund respectively.
W: Remove the effectiveness of the on-hit portion of his W.
E: Buff this ability overall. Reduce mana cost to something like 60-90. Reduce cooldown from 22-18 to 16-12; however, nerf W cool down to 16-12 in response. It would make sense that these two abilities are up at similar times (similar to alistar Q and W) so that there's more choice between spell usage.
E: This damage can be buffed. This ability basically deals 3 auto attacks worth of damage over a 1.5s duration.
R: Remove the armor pen.
Increase base mana, base mana regen, and base health regen.
Larger Changes These larger changes are more unrealistic.
Tap Q: Slows enemy by 5/10/15/20/25% for 1s. Serylda's grudge got massively nerfed for Pantheon because he can no longer go Black Cleaver + Serylda's, and also the slow was nerfed to below 50%. If a champion is below 50% while Pantheon is on them, they're basically dead (assuming he hasn't used his abilities yet). A slow on his Q, while incredibly strong - and should perhaps be tuned by champion level rather than skill rank - gives him the ability to space opponents and play that endurance fight more effectively. He keeps them at bay slowing them and so they can't chase him down as easily in the long lane.
E: Do the E small changes (regarding mana and CD) but also make the channel a smaller window. A 0.75-1s channel window makes the ability more skillful and allows room for buffs.
Empowered E: Refund cool down on E. Something like 50% allows his 22s cd to come back up in 11s can be big as a defensive option.
Redesigning Pantheon To reiterate, here's what I would want from Pantheon's kit: balance of offensive and defensive, spell-based mid range melee fighter (mid range similar to ryze, cass), mostly endurance fighter but some opportunity for burst, and someone who can be a front line or duelist. With this in mind, we need to set up some weaknesses. He can't be a burst champion, he has too many tools that we need to give his enemies time to outplay him. Since he's mid range, he will be weak to champions that out-range him. With this combination, it should be hard for him to jump on an enemy, but if he does, there should be time for them to react. This means he will be weak to mages and supports which should shift him out of mid lane and support.
Passive - Mortal Will
Pantheon generates a stack of Mortal Will whenever he lands an ability on an enemy champion or large monster, stacking up to 3 times. At 3 stacks, Pantheon's next basic ability consumes the stacks to become empowered. Pantheon gains maximum stacks of Mortal Will upon starting the game, completing a Recall channel, and respawning.
Note - The purpose of changing this ability to 3 stacks means that he has to be more skillful with his abilities. He can't just rely on autoing minions or Q-ing the air to get himself to full stacks. This will also nudge him away from being an auto-based champion. With 3 stacks it will will take longer to get multiple passive procs, but this allows for the passive to be strong. If you can extend the fight, Pantheon will shine.
Q - Comet Spear
Cost: 45 (20 mana nerf) Cooldown: 5/4.5/4/3.5/3 Range: -40 - 560 / 1100 Cast time, width, speed: same. For the rest of the ability, I would keep the text and numbers largely the same. Added: Tapping Comet Spear refunds 55% of the mana cost (~25 mana total). Comet Spear impales his target causing them to bleed for 3s and take 5/10/15/20/25 (+ 25% bonus AD) total physical damage over the duration. Empowered Q will cause the bleed to deal double damage.
Note - This needs to be his major damage source. As mentioned above, tap Q has a 4.4-3.2s CD with 0 ability haste, so this would technically be a minor nerf early game, however this gives him his thrown ability back. Thrown Q is harder to hit because you need to channel the ability for 0.55s to throw as well as the speed, while fast, is slower than an instant tap Q. It will still take reduced damage through the minions which means that it shouldn't be great for harassing range opponents, but it will give him some ability to play into the matchup after his loss of engage and burst (as you will see). To also mitigate this buff to thrown Q, the mana cost is nerfed to old Pantheon's Q cost, however the mana is refunded if used for tap Q. The bleed damage backloads the damage a bit which gives time for enemies to react. The bleed does not stack, but does get refreshed upon further Comet Spear hits. Bleed should be added to Pantheon's kit because it brings out the endurance side of his thematic playstyle. Bleed will keep conqueror, grasp, black cleaver and other similar effects up which highlights that he's still in the fight. Additionally, this damage will mitigate the damage that is lost from being an auto-based champion, as well as mitigate effects from passive/active health regen and items/runes such as doran's shield and second wind (old Pantheon had this problem where he lost every matchup into players who took doran's shield + second wind). The empowered Comet Spear getting double bleed damage is to mirror that this ability practically does double damage. Lastly, the numbers for the bleed were chosen to mimic Darius' Hemorrhage (passive) which does 13-30 (based on level) (+30% bonus AD), but stacks up to 5 times. 3 seconds was chosen as a timeframe for the bleed for Pantheon because he can make full use of it early game, but once it's rank 5 and with ability haste, he won't be benefitting from a spam Q playstyle and will be slightly rewarded for playing it slower. Lastly, the bleed damage can be used to balance his Jungle clear since he won't be getting his passive up as easily without the auto-based passive.
W - Shield Bash (New Spell)
Active: Pantheon bashes his shield in front of him. Enemies near Pantheon are also stunned for 0.5s and knocked back up to 300 units based on their proximity to him. Damage is the same as what's on PBE right now (5-7% max HP + ap scaling). Effect Radius: 300 Cast time: 0.35s Cooldown: 14/13/12/11/10 (1s nerf). Empowered W will be the current Shield Vault. The damage will be the same, but it will be a skill shot similar to Malphite ultimate, although smaller radius, slower travel speed, stuns rather than knocks up, and Pantheon will have a 0.25s animation lock upon landing.
Note - Shield bash is pretty much a copy of Maokai's inner Bramble Smash (Q) which knocks back enemies. It doesn't have the extended range, slow or damage though. The point of this ability on Pantheon is that it gives him a defensive tool that gets melee champions off of him, which helps his midrange play style. The reliable stun which comes up every 6 seconds in the mid/late game going away takes away his current identity of being a stun-bot. Additionally, he takes away his burst and dive potential since it's harder for him to get onto targets. He will have to either use empowered W to get onto target or his ultimate. Shield Bash also gives more out play potential because you can time melee champs out of their attack (if you're familiar with Maokai, you know how strong this can be). Ultimately, this makes Pantheon become a disengage-poke champion which plays into that midrange thematic playstyle. As for the empowered W, this will give him the flexibility to engage, and with it being an AOE spell, it allows him to be a strong team fighter. However, because it's a skill shot rather than point-and-click, it gives his opponents potential to outplay. Often carries would flash Pantheon's Shield Vault but would still get hit by the stun which is unfair to them. The purpose of the 0.25s animation lock after casting gives him the heavier and slower rolling feel that you get in dark souls games but also it's meant to be clearly weaker than Malphite ultimate. Also this ability helps Pantheon run away from enemies which is important for a side laner, but also the animation lock gives them a little room to hit a skill shot on you. Also, if you are using this ability to run away, you will find that your passive is down and since you have to hit enemy champions (or large jungle monsters), you will often find yourself at a disadvantage for the next find or if they try to pursue you.
E - Aegis Assault
Cost: 50/60/70/80/90 Cool down: 22/20/18/16/14 Duration: 1s Effect radius, angle, and everything else is the same. Due to less duration, Aegis Assault deals damage 8 times (every 0.125s to enemies hit). Empowered E inflicts armor reduction for 5% each time an enemy takes damage from Aegis Assault up to 40% armor reduction for 5 seconds.
Note - The cost is lowered early so you're not as heavily punished for using it. The cool down remains the same early to be in line with other early game defensive abilities. However, as a spear and shield champion, he should have this ability up more often in the mid and late game. Because of this, the duration should go down and mana up slightly to compensate. The damage is being nerfed slightly also since it doesn't last 1.5s. The empowered E getting armor reduction helps his team fighting prowess and will likely only give him the armor reduction against front liners. This greatly takes away his power to burst squishy targets and also means that he won't be using his empowered W to stun opponents (carries). Here there are significant trade offs to using his abilities for offensive vs defense in a more satisfying way. Additionally, if enemies don't take the full channel of armor shred, they're not getting their armor reduced which should be slightly weaker against mobile enemies in the 1v1 but stronger against tanks.
R - Grand Starfall
Remove the armor penetration from ultimate rank up. New passive: Hitting an enemy with an ability slows affected units by 10/20/30% for 1s.
Note - The slow will give him his true duelist potential in the mid/late parts of the game because it allows him to space appropriately against the mobility creep. Without Serylda's Grude Pantheon doesn't have the ability to stick on targets well over a duration of time which is partially why he needed to be burst-oriented. The slow should alleviate this issue and allow his mid-range thematic playstyle to shine. It's important to note that this only works on abilities that hit enemies and therefore doesn't work on the bleed that was added to his kit. Taking away the armor penetration also goes away from his glass-cannon build.
Conclusion Pantheon's current kit misses the mark for what should be his thematic concept and thematic playstyle. He should be a warrior that can go into battle or a duel with a balance of offense and defense, outplay his opponent through a fight of attrition while having his moments for heavy damage. He should not be a pseudo-assassin who can't 1v1 in the side lane and is scared to walk up. I have highlighted his issues above which come from being mana hungry while also being too auto-dependent when he should be ability dependent. The "Small Changes" section shows reasonable band-aid fixes to his kit. The "Larger Changes" section are some fixes that drastically change a few of his abilities but are what's needed to make his playstyle feel better. The "Redesigning Pantheon" is how I would go about reimagining this champion to fit the thematic playstyle and concept that he deserves. It is largely a rework, and the numbers are not exact, but this gives a lot of complexity to a champion that currently plays more generically than he seems.
This took me a long time to write and I'm happy to hear all questions and comments about any part of this document or Pantheon in general. Pantheon is my highest mastery champion (however I'm far from a one-trick) and I've hit Masters in multiple roles if that's something that's important to the discussion. Thank you for reading.

2024.05.26 05:30 Senior-Breakfast6736 Would a third opinion do me any good?

I’ve talked with 5 professionals in the last year and 4/5 said I have a mild case of bipolar. The first psych nurse practitioner I went to was awful and talked about himself for most of the session and sent me out with a ndri. The second one keeps trying antipsychotics and they help with my symptoms but I just can’t take the side effects of them. I get dizzy, tired, my menstrual cycle was thrown off and still recovering, I get flu like symptoms. I’d rather try a mood stabilizer or an anticonvulsant, but now there’s talks of possible ocd and psychotic symptoms. Would another opinion do me good? I’m just tired of chasing for answers

2024.05.26 05:25 GTAbandit Left side inguinal hernia recover process

Hi everyone. I’m a 24 year old male who just got surgery on my left side inguinal hernia and this is what my recover process has looked like so far and what had worked for me in aiding my recovery.
Little background: I’m roughly 6’0 175lbs and I was diagnosed with a left side inguinal hernia roughly two months ago. I noticed a bulge coming from my groin area in the mirror and immediately knew it was a hernia since many of my family members have had the same thing so it runs in my genetics. This was later confirmed after I got an ultrasound on it. Overall the hernia was very uncomfortable and was effecting my everyday life. It started to get bigger so I met with a surgeon and set a date for surgery. I would say the worst part was the anticipation of getting surgery I was dreading the day but ultimately when it arrived I knew it had to be done. I had done lots of research prior to the surgery of other people’s experiences so I had an idea of what to expect.
A few days prior to surgery I complete cut out alcohol. I also started an intermittent fasting cycle with a 16 hour fasting window mainly to reduce inflammation, give my digestive system a break, and get used to going without food. The day before the surgery I fasted much longer than what was required by the doctor (roughly 17 hours instead of 8). I also cut out water, roughly 12 hours before the procedure (instead of 4) I found that this really helped make sure that everything was out of my system to limit any issues with the anesthesia. Once I got to the hospital it was pretty straight forward. I went to the waiting room spoke to the surgeon and nurse etc. Something I highly recommend doing if you are nervous on the day of the surgery is to ask you doctor and anesthesiologist for anti anxiety medication before hand. I was pumped up with this right before the surgery in my IV and it completely took the nerves away when it was time to go under.
I woke up from surgery was still out of it and in pain. Once I got to the recovery room I was still in lots of pain. They gave me fentanyl and hydrocodone but it didn’t help much. Once I got back home I immediately laid down and tried to go to sleep. I started taking CBD:CBG out of 5000mg:2000mg tincture immediately and I would take it basically whenever I felt like not really keeping track of the dosage. I found that this really helped with pain and made it so I didn’t have to take the pain medication every 4 hours. I still did take some of the pain medication but I usually limited the amount I took to one to two pills a day. The next day I was in quite a lot of pain and basically just laid in bed. I was fortunate to have my mom help me and bring me things which I would recommend for at least the first 2-3 days of recovery if possible. I also started taking a small amount of RSO(Rick Simpson Oil) roughly 5mg with my cbd for a more profound effect. I would also take melatonin at nights and small amounts of milk of magnesia twice a day to soften stool. The first few days I basically made sure to stay hydrated and had roughly 3 protein shakes a day which amounted to 90mg of protein. This aids in your bodies recovery process especially for wounds. I would advise fasting most of the first 2 days if possible or just have minimal food that’s easy to digest because your stomach will be sore and you really just want to rest your digestive system. The first meal I ate made my symptoms worse. In addition to this I basically just relaxed and tried to get as much sleep as possible and made sure to walk around my room and constantly applied ice to the area. 30mins on 30 mins off. On day 3 I noticed swelling in my left testicle with purple bruising. I was concerned at first but apparently this normal and fortunately wasn’t too painful I applied arnica gel to it and ice. I’m currently at the end of day 4 and I would said I’m still in pain and discomfort but it’s much more manageable. Hoping my testicle swelling goes down soon and am just going to take it easy and keep taking my same cocktail of drugs for a few more days.
Overall I would say hernia surgery isn’t fun but if you prepare for it properly the recovery is manageable.

Chapter 244: Assorted Roses
Click.
I blinked as the sound of snapping fingers swept away the sight of a spring garden, replacing it with the wooden steps of the Adventurer’s Guild.
Time resumed. A warm breeze tousled my hair. A cat escaped between my legs. And a hand waved in front of my face, directed again by a confused and slightly concerned maid.
At that moment … I came to a sudden realisation.
I needed to write a letter to Florella.
Specifically, I needed to write a request to borrow the anchor from The Gentle Princess.
Indeed, it was plain to me that I could no longer rely on the sensibilities of others. Just because I considered stealing away princesses to be the height of obtuseness didn’t mean others felt the same. Far from it, that seemed to be in vogue.
A large and weighty anchor, then.
Florella needed it as well, of course. But I needed it more. Why, she at least had a crew of ogres. If nothing else, they could paddle to keep the ship in place. But I had no such thing.
Hence … something large and weighty to tie around my waist, solving all my problems!
Naturally, I wasn’t stupid. I still needed a way to freely move between my bed and my bathtub.
In which case … I’d have someone else to carry the anchor for me! This meant the weight could still be attached to me, but without the resulting permanent back damage!
A solution as simple as it was genius, but still not without faults. A handful of servants groaning behind me was effective during formal functions, but when I was rolling across my orchard, that was simply distracting.
… Fortunately, I knew a handmaiden who could literally bear the weight of such a task!
Why, given her prodigious physical strength and unmatched loyalty, I was certain Coppelia could easily haul a giant anchor around all day, every day, all the while while I focused on whatever busy schedule I was ignoring!
“... Miss Coppelia, she suddenly stopped speaking again.” Renise waved her hand repeatedly. “I’m becoming somewhat concerned. Do you think she’s been struck by a paralysis rune? Perhaps one which works intermittently?”
My loyal anchor hauler leaned towards me, a curious smile playing at her lips.
“Hmmmm~ I feel an overwhelming need to shake my head. I think she was just ferried away.”
“Ferried away? What do you mean?”
“To the Fae Realm.”
“To the … excuse me? When?”
“Just now. She just made a face like this. Did you see it?”
Suddenly, Coppelia’s face became the picture of slovenliness. One as disgraceful as it was untrue, as declared in the non-disclosure contract she’d shortly be signing … and perhaps also Renise, judging by the way she slowly nodded.
“Yes, I … well, I saw it too. In fact, I was about to reach for my handkerchief. I feared she was about to start droo–”
I snapped to attention at once.
The picture of refined diligence. My back straightened. My shoulders relaxed. My eyes stopped half-shuttering and my hand wiped any evidence of impropriety from the side of my lips.
Princess mode, activated!
“Oho … ohoho … goodness me, did you see something?” I said, fanning my smile with my hand. “To think I’d encumbered myself to such an extent that sudden exhaustion would overtake me, rendering my facial faculties moot. I hope neither of you saw anything amiss during my few seconds of fatigue.”
Coppelia answered with a giggle that failed to be hidden by her hand. Especially since it wasn’t covering her mouth, but held out as though expecting to receive a bribe.
An utterly disgraceful suggestion. And one I’d negotiate with her at a later time.
“Miss Juliette,” said Renise, eyes widened as she displayed the correct tactfulness I expected from all the retainers whose salaries I didn’t pay. “Is … Is this true? Did you meet with the fae? … Just now?”
I brushed down the crystalline grass which didn’t exist.
“Indeed, I did. I had an audience with the Spring Queen, precisely as I did not wish. Frankly, we need to build the fae an embassy. This one-way aggravation is patently absurd. We need a method to fill their doorway with junk mail subscriptions taken out in their name every morning, just as we do with the Granholtz Embassy.”
“That’s … That’s quite something.”
“Not at all. A quill and an afternoon spent in a library is all that’s required.”
“No, I mean … regarding meeting the fae.”
“Well, I suppose that’s also something. But so is a burnt caramel flan. It’s hardly an enjoyable experience.”
Renise gulped. Even with that tiny movement, I could hear her trembling.
“Truly? Just … like that? You spoke with a fae queen?”
“Unfortunately, being blessed with wings means they’re not accustomed to queueing like the rest. Otherwise, they would have waited the several centuries required before my bored spirit was willing to entertain them.”
Renise slowly nodded. I wondered if she’d heard me.
“I … I can barely believe it. The fae. They … well, they do what they wish. But few times does that involve conversing with outsiders who do not accidentally wander into their realm. To be invited–”
“Abducted.”
“Yes, um … to be abducted is extraordinary.”
“Oh, I agree. All the few laws which exist between us and the fae, and they somehow routinely manage to break all of them. It’s a wonder they even have queens. Given their laissez-faire nature, I’m stunned the Fae Realm doesn’t operate like some village commune.”
I shuddered.
It could have been worse. Instead of being kidnapped by a fae queen, I could have been kidnapped by some fae community representative.
“I see … then, what did you speak about?” Renise clutched at her arms, fidgeting with the question on her mind. “I … I can hardly imagine the Spring Queen invited–”
“Ahem.”
“–abducted you merely based on what we were discussing. After all, I am unimportant. There’s simply no possibility … but by any chance, did you … ?”
I raised a brow.
“Miss Renise. You have been chosen by Crown Prince Roland, not only to serve as his attendant, but as the head of an organisation which in its infancy is still expected to derive great things for the kingdom. Do not refer to yourself as unimportant. Doing so insults all who hold those expectations.”
Renise blinked.
She straightened at once, matching my posture.
“My apologies,” she said, all her worries vanishing to a maidly sweep of professionalism. “It is poor of me to speak so uncouthly. I will do all I can to ensure Rose House flourishes. And how I represent myself as its head will dictate how well its vines grow.”
“Indeed. But you needn’t do so alone. Otherwise, you’ll soon find your vines swallowed by weeds until nothing is left but husk and thorns. To prevent such a tragic end, it is best if you possess an assortment of capable assistance. Rejoice, Miss Renise. Upon the last day of spring, your mother and father shall awaken from their slumber.”
Renise took a step back.
Hand to her mouth, she covered the words which failed to be voiced. But I knew them nonetheless. Her eyes glimmered as the moonlight reflected off the tears gathering like dew in the morning. Each was quenched by the disbelief apparent upon her face, as clear as the hundred questions she wished to ask.
And yet when all was done, there was no hint of uncertainty in her gaze.
Only a tired relief, as every thought of hopelessness she’d closed her mind to was allowed to peter away like raindrops in a distant field.
“... Truly?” she asked simply.
“Truly.”
“May I ask how?”
“You may. But the answer would only bore you. You need only know that it was a matter of expert statecraft, negotiation and diplomacy. And I did not exit the worse for it.”
Renise slowly nodded.
“I see,” she said simply, her voice calm and collected, even as a blurry haze gathered in her eyes. “In that case … thank you very much.”
I smiled.
But only to soothe the words I’d yet left unspoken.
“Miss Renise, that they should awaken is all I promise. Know that whether they greet the sight of a guillotine or their daughter’s smile is not in my hands. Crown Prince Roland is the ruler of Reitzlake, and it is in his city where they operated against him. I do not know them, and can offer no words in their defence. That is something you must do, should you wish to earn my brother’s reprieve.”
Renise’s hand fell from her lips.
But what appeared on her face was not of disconsolation. It was an assurance of her own worth. One I was glad to now see. She blinked to cut away the tears, then nodded.
“I will do that. I must … I shall convince him. My father and mother. They would put Baroness Arisa to shame. I’ve no doubt that even with their eyes closed, they still saw in the dark.”
“Yes, and this is a concern. I hope you understand it is not only I who shall see it this way as well.”
Renise nodded.
Suddenly, life lit up in her eyes, causing even the moon to pale. She parted her mouth as she looked at me, carefully considering the words she wished to say.
Instead, she smiled as she sent a swift glance around her.
Turning to me once again, she lifted the edges of her skirt and bent her knee in a formal curtsy. The very picture of a noblewoman. I should have them all wearing maid uniforms.
“With your permission, Your Highness, I will see to the matter of Baroness Arisa and her holdings. There are still questions I need to ask of her. Once I am done, I shall return to Reitzlake to see if I may persuade the Crown Prince to offer the leniency I believe is best for the kingdom.”
I offered a tidy nod.
“You may. But not just yet.”
As Renise offered me a look of puzzlement, I turned to the door of the Adventurer’s Guild.
The moment I opened it, a hush fell from within. Dozens of eyes wondered why I would grace their hooliganism another time. They could continue to wonder. I certainly wasn’t going inside.
Instead, I motioned as if I was writing in the air, then pointed towards myself. A parchment and quill was immediately on its way, courtesy of a receptionist’s magical courier service.
“There’s one important detail remaining,” I said as I caught the bundled writing tools. “As I neither know nor care who presides over this tract of countryside, I shall spell out the baroness’s judgement, to be delivered to her in person.”
Renise nodded, a sudden look of solemness upon her face.
“I understand … may I ask what it will be?”
I raised the feathery end of the quill to my lips, barely covering my smile.
For the crime of delaying my timely return to inspect the pillows building up outside my bedroom tower, there could be no fitting punishment but the harshest judgement … and yet it’s never said that I was a princess without mercy or compassion.
In fact, I was famed for it.
And anybody who said otherwise was on the next passenger manifest to Soap Island.
“Ohohohoho … why, I have a specific task in mind for her. One tailored to her specific skill set. For while her hands could doubtless craft passable soap, there are other ways someone of her calibre might begin her gruelling road to repentance.”
Indeed, my kingdom did not turn away talent. And neither did I.
I offered an angelic smile. And then awaited the eager nod, as all our maids were trained to do at opportune moments.
Oddly, it never came.

2024.05.26 05:23 nopenopenora It's been two weeks and I'm planning on quitting

Some background: I'm taking Ozempic because I have LADA (type 1 diabetes) with a decent amount of natural insulin production still. I've taken .25 doses for the last two weeks and it has been great for my blood sugar management. I was taking rapid insulin multiple times a day, and Ozempic has allowed me to completely stop my insulin.
Outside of that, I have never been more miserable in my life. My hunger is extremely suppressed and I feel bloated at least once a day. The last few days I've had food aversion in the morning and it's made eating breakfast impossible. I run 5 days a week and am training for a half marathon, and Ozempic has completely wrecked my training. When I was taking insulin I was running fast and feeling amazing - now I feel like a bloated slug who can barely move.
While the idea of not having to take insulin for a while is tempting, Ozempic has not given me anything close to the quality of life improvement I had hoped for. I see so many people saying they've had no side effects and am just blown away because I've never felt so wrecked in my life. I was really hoping that I could be off insulin AND still feel like myself, but it doesn't seem like that's the case. Ozempic is causing me to have the worst relationship with food and my body I've ever experienced.

2024.05.26 05:18 Metz392 Bought Bvlgari Tygar tonight…

I bought Bulgari Tygar tonight at Neiman Marcus… I originally went to LV to smell imagination and L’mmensité and needless to say I wasn’t impressed with LV frags so I tried some at Neiman.
First I tried on was Tygar, I wore it and let it dry down while sniffing all the other brands, and man it is magnificent. They were having a deal today, $100 off $400 so I got it for $300. It’s sooo good.
Also side note I’d like to add: Initio is absolutely insane for the price. I think it is so underrated. We tried their whole line and it is so good. All of them besides like one or two. I have side effect already but damn are they good! People need to give them a try.

2024.05.26 05:06 InevitableRefuse5260 I’ve hit absolute rock bottom, how do I pray here?

Hi.
I’m sorry if this is a bit incoherent, but I just want to get this off of my chest. I tried to word it as best as I could.
For context, I’m 20.
Life has been absolute miserable torture since taking accutane 6 months ago, and quiting 4 months ago. I developed horrific side effects (anhedonia, emotional numbess/blunting, light sensivity, brain fog, horrible memory, lack of interest in dating or anything, and more on top of that.) This has all persisted since getting off, and feels like it hasn’t improved.
To put it bluntly, before all of this, I felt a vocation to being married and having a family. Now, it feels absolutely impossible, like a road block has been put there so I will never get to that point. Right before I took the accutane, I had a period of 2 months where I had intrusive thoughts telling me to become a priest (I hadn’t even joined the church yet at this point, and had never in my life wanted to be one, I knew marriage was what I felt called to. I met with my rcia priest multiple times during that period and he agreed with it most likely being intrusive thoughts, which they did go away) I had just barely got out of that before this mess started. So I had intrusive thoughts trying to rip the idea of marriage from me, but now this put the nail in the coffin. Now with this I don’t know what I want to do with life now, nor what I can do with it. It feels like an unmovable obstacle has been put in the way of pursuing my vocation.
I’ve been praying countless rosaries, novenas, healing prayers, and more just for the intention of trying to recover from this nightmare but it still feels like i’m simply not getting heard and left to sit in the void that is my life at the moment. Feels like radio silence. It makes it hard to pray because of that, and because of that, I don’t know what there is else for me to do.
I’m essentially just sitting here and hoping in a miraculous recovery, but as time goes on, my hope dwindles. I’ve been to multiple doctors trying to figure things out. The first doctor who gave me the accutane told me that I was making up these symptoms and did not believe me, and the second one I went to believed me but told me they had no idea how to treat it. That, and looking into people who have had other similar things happen to them, there seems to be no treatment or known cure at the current moment, and essentially anything can make a person worse. I’m therefore stuck between not wanting to risk getting worse or doing nothing.
I guess if there was anything to ask for advice, it’d be this: How do I pray at this point when it feels like i’ve hit complete rock bottom?

Traded for on the swap sometime back, the owner prior to that one had sent it in for double lugs and the original S35VN blade cracked during the process. So CRK replaced it with a brand new polished Magnacut blade. The included photos show it disassembled and the M on the blade, but be aware the birth card does not match. Also the detent is a bit light on this one compared to my other Sebenza. My plan was to send into CRK to have them check the detent and reissue a birth card but I never got around to it. A side effect of the lighter detent is this one Spydie flicks super easy, and in fact the action all around is really smooth. The condition of the handles is immaculate considering it's several years old, with one tiny scratch near the lock side pivot, shown close up in the photos. Otherwise it's pretty much flawless. Included is a Lynch milled titanium deep carry clip, it was the flamed ano version when I received it but I lightly sanded and polished it myself, it compliments the polished elements of the rest of the knife nicely. Also I used some polish to try and get the gold ano off the thumbstuds and backspacer. The backspacer looks nice and silver but there's still a bit of gold left in the crevices of the studs. Comes with full kit including leather slip, an extra set of washers, an extra backspacer, and the original CRK clip. Congratulations if you've read this far, sorry for the novel.
SOLD SOLD SOLD Spyderco Spymyto, M398 Blade, #819/2000 - Pics/Video - SV 250 225 - Well I was dying to get one of these ever since they were announced, received a few weeks ago, and have been waffling on what to do with it ever since. I really do like it a lot, it's an excellent model, but in the end it is too similar to a few of my main carries so I know it won't get any pocket time and it's not quite unique enough just to hang onto for collection sake. That said if it doesn't sell I won't be mad. This is basically brand new, never cut, only carried around the house and flipped a handful of times. Good action, no lock stick, detent seems good too (I've heard some have a light detent). Comes with pouch, paperwork, sticker.

2024.05.26 05:01 rcooper890 Observations and my experience

Hello all,
I wanted to make this post to sort of list all the things I've learned about costochondritis while suffering from its effects and attempting to heal myself. When I first started experiencing my chest pain, I thought that I was a medical mystery. Noone in my family and none of my friends understood what I was trying to explain when talking about these strange sensations in my chest. Doctors would look at me like I was crazy, faking it, or they were legitimately stumped. Finding this community has helped me take the first steps to recovery, and while I am still not better, I do think I am slowly improving overall. This post will be very candid and I will try to list things that I experience and things that I think contribute to costo (or at least make it worse).
Now, things that I believe make this condition worse.
Recovery
Misc. and after thoughts
Hopefully this provides someone with some insight or some comfort from knowing that there are others out there that experience the same thing. I'll try and edit it if I happen to learn anything else or experience anything else. It seems like one of the last resorts to this disorder are cortisol shots in the chest. Doesn't sound fun but it is an option I'll take if I don't kick costo soon.

2024.05.26 04:59 the_natis Got my Lucid Air Pure today. Observations & Questions

Overall, I'm really happy with it. The acceleration is just stupid fast. It's just insane how effortless the speed is and how 'calm' the car feels at high speeds. I really love how quiet the cabin is for the most part (more on that in a moment) and the steering and handling makes me feel like I'm more connected to the road, which I didn't get when I test drove other cars over the last 2 months.
But there are some questions that I have and some things for a wish list in a software update. Before I state my questions and wishlist, to anyone reading this who is debating getting a Lucid, don't look at my comments and be dissuaded from the Lucid Air. We test drove a ton of cars and the Lucid was the absolute best driving experience, hands down. My wife doesn't drive and she absolutely loved just riding around today. This car is on a whole different level.
Now, the questions:
  1. Our Pure frunk didn't come with the partition. The person that we dealt with at the showroom (ATL doesn't have a full studio yet) said the Pure doesn't come with that for the frunk. Is that true? It seems odd and is there any way to buy one?
  2. When at a complete stop and starting to accelerate, there is a sound that almost sounds like a slight grinding noise. Does anyone else have that/notice that or is it something that I should have them look into?
  3. Anyone else feel like the AC could be a little stronger? My G37x at 70 degrees feels way more powerful than the Lucid Air at 65 degrees.
  4. While the cabin is really quiet, I do notice a lot of wind noise around the side mirrors at around 60mph and higher. It almost sounds like the door is slightly ajar. Anyone else feel the same way?
  5. Is there any way to always have the front cameras on when using a directional or when at a certain speed or lower? The blind spot by the A pillars is really huge and for driving on a highway, that's fine. My concern is when I drive home to NYC and pedestrians. It's pretty easy to lose people in that blind spot. Today, when driving in a parking garage, the front camera came on and it really helped to diminish the A pillar blind spots. I don't know why the camera was on in the garage, but I'd love for it to come on at an intersection.
And my wishlist:
  1. Under the speed limit sign, I really want a compass of sorts. Just want a small indictor telling me which direction I'm heading. I use this a lot in my G37x and it's so useful and this would be such an easy software update.
  2. I hope the Air gets some of the Gravity's infotainment options, like the ability of split screen; map on one screen and Tidal on the other.
  3. Lane change directional (not the full turn directional). I feel that three clicks isn't enough. I'd like the option to bump it up to five or six, as I think that's a better amount of time for other drivers. Three feels too short as it turns off before I've completed the lane change.
  4. The steps on volume control on the steering doesn't feel effective. The middle volume control dial is such an improvement over the steering wheel one. I'd like the option to adjust the sensitivity of the one on the steering wheel.
  5. Speaking of the main volume control; it would really be nice if it was illuminated at night just a little bit.
  6. The sound (have surround sound pro) could be way better. Maybe I'm picky (I collect headphones and have a pretty nice Cambridge Audio CX stack with Sonus Fabar Sonetto VIIIs) but the G37x sound just feels more fleshed out. It didn't matter if I used Carplay, Lucid's built in Tidal app, or bluetooth. The speakers just feel flat and on "A Forest" by The Cure, one of the drum beats just sounded really unnatural.

2024.05.26 04:46 IAmWeary MMW, the world will look very different in less than a decade due to AI, and not in a good way

Let me clarify that I don't think AI is going to go full-blown "The Matrix" on us. I mean that humanity's use of it is going to contribute to our ruin.
AI is going to be abused in every way imaginable by the dregs of humanity. Buckle up, folks. It's gonna get so much worse within a few years because too many people suck.
