2024.05.19 07:46 BlackholeZ32Theory Crafting <250g AOS 3.5 build
I'm curious people's thoughts on this build. Goal being <250g all purpose ripper. I'm still pretty new to the FPV world so wouldn't be surprised if I've missed something. Also open to style/personal preferences, most of my selections came from Bardwell's <250 shopping list and NewBee's website since they're local. I'm still researching prop pitch, I've seen some of these builds using higher pitch props so not sure if the 3.5x2.0 are the best fit. I'm also a massive tinkerer and data nerd so F7 FCs are kind of calling my name, but that might have to wait for a larger build where I'd have some more freedom to add additional modules.

2024.05.19 07:40 AwesomeCal7Sim card that's works in Philippines and abroad?
Hi all! Sorry if this sounds like a dumb question, but is there a sim card that works in Philippines and abroad? Preferably I would like a Philippine number that doesn't expire and can be used abroad as I live in Canada. My dad and colleague have that kind of sim card but they don't know the name? I will be visiting Philippines soon for three weeks to furnish my condo, open a BDO checking account and apply for BDO credit card. (I'm dual citizen Filipino-Canadian). Definitely need Phil number to recieve texts updates for credit application. I looked at the SMART website, but I'm not sure which one works for my needs. If you could let me know the name of the plan whether it's postpaid or prepaid and where I can buy once I arrive in Manila, that would be amazing 👍 Thank you!!
2024.05.19 07:39 adrian_p_morganShort story from 1981 [CW: suicide, in fiction, but still]
Just for discussion, I'm wondering if anyone has read "The Child Who Cries for the Moon", a short story by Connie Willis which appeared in a 1981 anthology by Fred Saberhagen. If not, the entire text can be found here: http://www.sfsfss.com/stories/Fred_Saberhagen_-_A_Spadeful_of_Spacetime.html#THE%20CHILD%20WHO%20CRIES%20FOR%20THE%20MOON It's soft science fiction (quantum mechanics doesn't exist for starters) that deals very explicitely with topics like suicide and mental health. I first read it as a child (or early teen, not 100% sure) and I still can't read it without getting teary eyed. It's impossible to summarise in a conventional way because it works on an emotional level, not an intellectual one, and if you try to reduce it to a sequence of events you lose its essence. For that reason I doubt it would be possible to adapt to the screen. Maybe, just maybe, a really clever filmwriter could do it by leaning heavily on techniques that convey a sense of subjectivity, but my imagination fails me. Anyway, the story takes place in a mental hospital in the future, and the first-person protagonist is a patient with a record for repeated suicide attempts. Any therapist reading the story will want to scream at the hospital staff, who repeatedly behave in a manner unbecoming for that profession, but let's not dwell on them. The plot revolves around three main science fiction devices. The first device is a fictional suicide drug, colloquially named silverwine, which in small doses is used to treat paranoia, but "too much of the truth can kill you, so they sell it on the streets to those of us who need it". That phrase, "too much of the truth can kill you" is a motif. The drug has other properties that are used in the story to convey a point. For example, it is painful, which is used to convey a point about self harm. The second device is the idea that a technology enabling infinite magnification has been discovered, allowing people to literally see aliens walking around in the Andromeda galaxy, and that videos of such aliens are used for therapeutic purposes in mental hospitals. There is no worldbuilding to explain _why_ such recordings (called "Stories") are used in therapy, and the whole short story can be thought of as a thought experiment to show why it is a really bad idea. The third device is that all the aliens are incredibly beautiful, and humans are all ugly by comparison. This parallels the protagonist's own perception of herself as ugly and unloveable, which is at the core of her struggles. But she allows herself to speculate that maybe, "somewhere in all that beautiful universe is a lady like that, distant and kind as the moon, who will look at me as you look at an oddly-shaped shell, and think, how pretty, how strange!" For a moment, the so-called therapy gives her hope, but then she learns that the Andromeda galaxy is two million light years away and that all the aliens in the recordings are dead. This breaks her. "There is no such thing as a light year. They are heavy, heavy. They descend upon the heart with the weight of planets." Oh my god, I am getting so teary-eyed right now just typing this, but you have to read it for yourself, it is way more powerful than I can convey here. I would love to hear people's insights into how the short story sheds light on the experiences of real people struggling with mental illness, either from the perspective of someone who been there themselves, or from a therapist.
Wondering if anyone here can name any dispensaries or reputable smoke shops in the area that sell delta 8 edibles? I have attempted to learn via Google what stores around here might carry delta 8 in particular but it seems - at least as best I can tell from the multiple awful websites I looked over - a) they don't, or b) maybe 1 or 2 products mixed in under the very specific "THC" category and good luck finding em. It makes sense the bulk of offerings would be delta 9 but surely someone other than a sketchy convenience store would have 8 available too?? I've been buying gummies from an online site but it would be nice to have in person options if in a pinch, or just wanting a different flavor or something. If anyone can confirm solid delta 8 edible sellers 'round these parts, it'd be greatly appreciated. Bonus points if there's little to no bitter aftertaste!
2024.05.19 07:23 FindingHeavy8811My experience with Tangerine letting scammers get away with $7000
Hi everyone, I hope I am allowed to post my experience with Tangerine here because they have let me down and decided to let 2 scammers keep $7000 even though I have irrefutable evidence. I just wanted to share my experience with everyone that I just had with Tangerine. They let 2 scammers keep $10,000 from me and refuse to do anything about it. This personal finance related, but here we go. I own a small business selling furniture and this person from Montreal purchased $7,000worth of items. To keep things simple, the account on my website was under the name lets say is Jane Smith, and the card used to purchase belonged to John Doe. There is a chargeback that ends up getting filed and I call Jane Doe because that is the only phone number I have, and apparently she said that she never heard of John Doe, and her information must have been compromised. I have no other leads, so I send to my bank the evidence that I have that this person hasn't reached out, I am unable to contact them, no emails, no calls, and also provided proof of delivery (I can assure you 100% it was delivered) John Doe banks with Tangerine, and Tangerine decides that this is not enough evidence and decides to give John Doe his money back. I don't want this scammer to get away with it, so I escalate it with Tangerine and eventually the CCAO (Scotiabank customer complaints appeal office). I explain the situation and heres the catch, I call Jane Doe again and ask to speak with John Doe, I didn't let her know that I was from company abc, and she says, and I kid you not, 'Oh hes not with me right now, can I take a message', that is when I let her know I was with company abc, she gets flustered and backtracks and says that she already talked to us, has no idea who John Doe was and her information was compromised before abruptly hanging up. I have this phone call recorded. This just proves that they are lying because why would you purchase something using a fake account supposedly. I give this to the CCAO, who is supposed to do impartial reviews on customer complaints, and they said they can't do anything about it. I even reviewed the evidence that John Doe gave to Tangerine when he opened up the chargeback, and he said that he sent an email and called and I told him that there is nothing that my company could do, I asked Tangerine if they can show me this email because I did not get anything from him, nor did I reply. They refused to investigate further. Again, I hope it is okay for me to post this, I am just a little sad right now because Tangerine has been awful to deal with and even with all this evidence, they have decided to ignorantly let these 2 scammers commit fraud and I hope I can spread the word on how terrible they are. Thank you
2024.05.19 07:16 smellytrashyyMy code works properly in Codepen, but not in a website host. Help.
I made this code with the help of AI, I read rule 10 but trust me this kept me up at night (bad at coding). Can somebody please explain why it only works properly in Codepen, but not when I place it in a website host? I saved it as styles.css, index.html, script.js., then to a folder, then zipped it. 2024.05.19 07:03 Ok_Jelly_3340Raising the Minimum Wage in Tennessee: How to Get Started
Facts:
30 states have a higher minimum wage than Tennessee's $7.25.
Tennessee last raised its minimum wage in 2009.
Since then, inflation has risen by about 36.6%.
A decent living wage for a single adult in Tennessee is about $13.25 per hour.
Steps to Raise the Minimum Wage
Step 1: Organize a Petition Drive
Form a Nonpartisan Group:
Create or join a group focused solely on raising the minimum wage, without political affiliations.
Use platforms like Zoom for virtual meetings. Schedule regular meetings and create a structured agenda. Use social media and local forums to recruit members.
Research Requirements:
Signature Requirement: For statewide initiatives, the number of signatures required is significant and typically a percentage of the votes cast in the last gubernatorial election. The exact number can be confirmed with the Tennessee Secretary of State's office.
Phone: (615) 741-2819
For local initiatives, like in Knoxville, a charter amendment can be proposed if at least one registered voter files the petition with the county election commission for pre-approval (TCA 2-5-151).
Create the Petition:
Draft a clear and concise petition for a minimum wage increase. Here is a sample:
Draft Petition: Petition for Increasing the Minimum Wage in Tennessee To the Tennessee General Assembly: We, the undersigned residents of Tennessee, believe that the current minimum wage of $7.25 per hour is insufficient to meet the basic needs of individuals and families in our state. Given the significant rise in living costs and inflation since the last adjustment in 2009, we urgently call for an increase in the state minimum wage to a livable wage of $13.25 per hour. This adjustment will ensure that all working Tennesseans can afford necessities such as housing, food, healthcare, and transportation. By signing this petition, we express our support for this necessary change and urge the Tennessee General Assembly to take immediate action. Name Address Signature
Step 2: Collect Signatures
Host Community Events: Organize events like town hall meetings, local fairs, or farmers' markets to gather signatures.
Utilize Local Networks: Leverage small-town connections where everyone knows each other to spread the word and gather support.
Set Up Booths: Place booths in high-traffic areas like grocery stores, libraries, and community centers to collect signatures.
Door-to-Door Campaigning: Go door-to-door in your neighborhood to ask for signatures.
Step 3: Raise Awareness
Social Media Campaign: Use platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to inform the community and encourage them to sign the petition.
Local Media: Reach out to local newspapers, radio stations, and TV channels to cover your campaign.
Flyers and Posters: Distribute flyers and put up posters in local businesses and public spaces.
Step 4: Submit the Petition
Verify Signatures: Ensure all collected signatures meet the requirements.
Submit to Authorities: Submit the petition to the appropriate state or local authority for validation.
Deadlines and Requirements
Submission Deadline: Typically, signatures must be submitted several months before the general election to allow time for verification. For 2024, check with the Tennessee Secretary of State for specific deadlines and the number of required signatures (Ballotpedia) (Tennessee Secretary of State).
Key Points:
Local Efforts: It is more challenging to change the minimum wage at a local level like Knoxville due to state preemption laws, but local advocacy can still be influential.
Statewide Efforts: For statewide initiatives, a significant number of signatures is required based on the last gubernatorial election.
By following these steps and working together, we can push for a living wage in Tennessee to ensure a better quality of life for all. For more detailed information on signature requirements and deadlines, you can visit Ballotpedia or the Tennessee Secretary of State's website.
Other Ways to Advocate for a Higher State Minimum Wage:
Legislative Advocacy:
Lobby Lawmakers: Work with advocacy groups to meet with state legislators and push for a bill to increase the minimum wage.
Public Campaigns: Use media campaigns, public rallies, and social media to raise awareness and put pressure on lawmakers.
Coalition Building: Form alliances with labor unions, community organizations, and businesses that support higher wages.
Electoral Strategy:
Support Pro-Wage Increase Candidates: Work to elect state legislators who support raising the minimum wage.
Voter Education: Educate voters about candidates' positions on the minimum wage and encourage them to vote accordingly.
Public Pressure:
Media Engagement: Write op-eds, participate in interviews, and use social media to highlight the need for a wage increase.
Petitions and Letters: Organize letter-writing campaigns and online petitions to demonstrate public support.
Local Government Initiatives:
City and County Ordinances: While state law may preempt local minimum wage increases, some municipalities might still be able to implement higher wages for city or county employees or through specific local initiatives.
Business Initiatives:
Encourage Voluntary Increases: Encourage businesses to voluntarily raise wages and create public recognition programs for those that do.
Partnerships with Businesses: Work with businesses to demonstrate the benefits of higher wages, such as reduced turnover and increased productivity.
Legal and Policy Research:
Economic Studies: Commission or conduct studies that show the positive impacts of a higher minimum wage on the economy and present these findings to policymakers and the public.
Policy Proposals: Develop detailed policy proposals outlining how a wage increase can be implemented and funded.
Steps to Take Right Now:
Form or Join an Advocacy Group: Find like-minded individuals and organizations to build a coalition.
Contact State Legislators: Start a dialogue with state representatives and senators to gauge their support and educate them on the issue.
Engage the Public: Use social media, community meetings, and local media to build broad public support.
Prepare for Long-Term Efforts: Understand that changing the minimum wage may take time and sustained effort.
By using these strategies, we can create a multifaceted approach to advocate for a higher minimum wage in Tennessee.

I'm having a weird issue where my bandwidth through my wireguard server hosted on my NAS is higher than my reported bandwidth to my NAS itself. When I say "through" my NAS I mean traffic that is routed through my wireguard server on my NAS but has a destination that is external. Here's some context:
My ISP is Verizon Fios with a 1Gbps symmetrical plan. I can run a speedtest from the NAS to a speedtest server and it reports close to advertised speeds (940+ down, 920+ up).
My router is a CR1000A with port 51820 port forwarded to the NAS.
I've tested with a wg client from various networks including a friend's 1Gbps symmetrical, 5G/LTE, random hotel WiFi etc and on both my phone and macbook.
To test "passthrough" bandwidth, I used various speedtest websites and verified that my detected IP address was the same as my home network's public IP.
To test bandwidth to the NAS, I used iperf3 and openspeedtest hosted on the NAS, and also generally felt the slowness when streaming from it.
In all cases, the "passthrough" bandwidth seems to increase given a better client bandwidth, but it is always significantly below the line speed of the client/server. I'm wondering if this might be an indicator of an issue in and of itself...
Higher client bandwidth tends to result in higher "passthrough" bandwidth, but bandwidth to the NAS itself seems to cap out around 20 Mbps assuming the client is on a very fast connection (200+ Mbps).
Here's my wireguard config (note my domain resolves to my home network's public IP):
Client BW: 1Gbps Symmetrical Fiber ATT, Passthrough: 140 Mbps, To NAS Direct: 20 Mbps
Client BW: 5G Phone (240 Mbps Down), Passthrough: 50-60 Mbps, To NAS Direct: ~15 Mbps
As another data point, I recently tried installing and using tailscale, but I seem to have similar bandwidth issues, although tailscale's passthrough bandwidth is pretty close to the bandwidth I get when connecting to the NAS directly. One thing to note is that when I use tailscale status, I see that it's a relayed connection. Additionally, tailscale ping is unable to give me a direct connection, so this could be degrading tailscale's performance (another potential indicator that something's wrong?). The passthrough speeds I'm getting could be acceptable if I could get them to my NAS itself, but they're not even close, making streaming content from my NAS very painful especially on "slower" client connections. I've seen a data point where someone else had a client and server 3500 miles away and was still able to get ~285 Mbps which was close to their line speed. Any tips or suggestions for tools/commands I can run to debug this issue would be much appreciated. Thanks!
2024.05.19 06:51 GrownUpGirlScoutNancy Cunard, Parallax, and (Taylor's Version of) Modernism
I did not entirely intend to end up this deep down a rabbit hole, but here we are!
The other night after reading the wonderful The Eras Tour Follies post-GO READ THAT POST, everything in there relates to ALL of this as Loie Fuller was a modernist choreographer and so her art relates strongly to everything I will be discussing. Pretty much everything I present here emphasizes the idea that Taylor is leaning into a very specific type of performance art. Anyway, after reading that, facebook suggested to me a post from a page with follies in the name and between that and the line “my swift imagination”, my attention was captured. From the post- “‘You shall not prison, shall not grammarise / my swift imagination.’ So declares a poem Nancy Cunard wrote in 1919, at the age of twenty-three. The speaker of “In Answer to a Reproof” casts herself as “the perfect stranger / outcast and outlaw from the rules of life”. Conveying something of Cunard’s defiance of social norms, the poem seems to prophesy her later cutting of ties to both her mother and her country. For Jane Marcus, it constitutes “the declaration of independence of female modernism”.Cunard began her writing career as a poet, and her long poem Parallax was published by Virginia Woolf’s Hogarth Press in 1925.” Jane Marcus wrote a book called Nancy Cunard: Perfect Strangers which was released in 2020 (post-humuously, the book was finished by her research assistant.) It seems like it was a small university press type deal and not widely available in print, though it seems sites like jstor may have it available in its entirity. The book summary- “Nancy Cunard: Perfect Stranger reshapes our understanding of a woman whose role in key historical, political, and cultural moments of the 20th century was either dismissed and attacked, or undervalued. Here, Jane Marcus, who was one of the most insightful critics of modernism and a pioneering feminist scholar, is unafraid and unapologetic in addressing and contesting Nancy Cunard’s reputation and reception as a spoiled heiress and “sexually dangerous New Woman.” Instead, with her characteristic provocative and energetic writing style, Marcus insists we reconsider issues of gender, race, and class in relation to the accusations, stereotypes, and scandal, which have dominated, and continue to dominate, our perception of Cunard in the public record. In the wake of inadequate histories of radical writing and activism, Nancy Cunard: Perfect Stranger brings its subject into the 21st century, offering a bold and innovative portrait of a woman we all thought we knew.” I was mostly going to get into her poem Parallax, but after having looked up the entirety of “In Answer to a Reproof”, I HAVE to bring that up as well. Her work isn’t super widely available online, but I did find this weird little poorly formatted archival site that seems to have the full text of her collected poetry . I haven’t read it all (yet), but to start with I’d direct you towards the poems “Outlaws”, “Monkery” and “The Love Story”, but when I read the opening lines to “In Answer to a Reproof” my jaw DROPPED. “Let my impatience guide you now, I feel You have not known that glorious discontent That leads me on : the wandering after dreams And the long chasing in the labyrinth Of fancy, and the reckless flight of moods — You shall not prison, shall not grammarise My swift imagination, nor tie down My laughing words, my serious words, old thoughts I may have led you on with, baffling you Into a pompous state of great confusion.” “The long chasing in the labyrinth” “shall not grammarise my swift imagination” (grammarise or gramarize can mean to analyze or describe), are both lines and ideas resonate a lot with what we know about Taylor and her work. The poem is saying, "you will not hold me to these interpretations you have of me, even if I was the one using my words to lead you on and confuse you.” “...I have concluded we are justified Each in his scheming ; is this not a world Proportioned large enough for enemies Of our calibre ? Shall we always meet In endless conflict ? I have realised That I shall burn in my own hell alone And solitarily escape from death” The burning imagery, the implications of a deep emotional rift between enemies who might be lovers? This poem, and honestly a lot of her others, have that sort of vibe. This part is justifying the need of enemies in the world and bringing attention to the role of destiny in the fate of two such adversaries. The poem text is available the collected poems I linked above, there is also this handwritten original from Yale’s archives on Nancy Cunard (had to go to the original to figure out what word she was using for solitarily because the formatting was so wonky on the other, lol) Let’s move on to Parallax! As mentioned above, the poem was originally published by Virgina Woolf’s literary press. It is a long form poem based on the The Waste Land, also a long form poem by T. S. Eliot. This is from the wiki page on The Waste Land- “widely regarded as one of the most important English-language poems of the 20th century and a central work of modernist poetry…The Waste Land does not follow a single narrative or feature a consistent style or structure. The poem shifts between voices of satire and prophecy, and features abrupt and unannounced changes of narrator, location and time, conjuring a vast and dissonant range of cultures and literatures.” These ideas are all VERY important in modernism. And modernism is VERY relevant to the idea of what Taylor does, but ESPECIALLY what she is currently doing with TTPD. Modernism was about rejecting the old ideas of things, and trying to rebuild, especially in the aftermath of WW1. Artists, writers, and musicians strongly embraced the idea of the visibility of the artist in their work. They no longer felt compelled to uphold the status quo and traditional methods (of poetry, of painting, of music, of literature, of architecture), they experimented with forms and processes that would be visible to the viewer in ways that had not been common or fashionable in the art world in the past. Stream of consciousness writing, unreliable narrators, and multiple points of views were new things being explored, especially in writing (A Room of One’s Own by Virgina Woolf being a great and relevant example of this, also go check out the first edition cover-Midnights much…). The artists wanted to invite deeper thought about what was being said and by whom. The way modernism referenced the past was also very relevant. Modernism was known for creating entirely new interpretations of traditional works. Rewriting traditional narratives, creating parodies, satire, incorporating aspects from many other sources and being referential to those sources (the idea of artistic collages, and incorporating old media into new works was being heavily explored). The definition of Parallax is “the apparent displacement or the difference in apparent direction of an object as seen from two different points not on a straight line with the object”especially : the angular difference in direction of a celestial body as measured from two points on the earth's orbit.” Okay so I honestly have a hard time wrapping my head around this, but…put your finger in front of your eyes, look beyond your finger, and then alternate closing one eye at a time. The way your finger appears to jump? That is an example of parallax. The closer an object is, the more drastically it appears to move when observed from different places. The further the object, the less it moves. (I find it interesting that Taylor’s shows have been speeding up and going faster? Here is Parallax by Nancy Cunard Scan from google books of the original printing of the book. A website with an easy to read full text version. It's long, but it's WELL worth reading. Very very rich imagery and themes which seems to go along with Taylor's use of similar themes and images “Provisioning of various appetite. Midnights have heard the wine’s philosophy Spill from glass he holds, defiant tomorrows Pushed back.” \* “Think now how friends grow old— Their diverse brains, hearts, faces, modify; Each candle wasting at both ends, the sly Disguise of its treacherous flame . . . Am I the same?” \* "Without prompter for the love-scene or the anger-scene. And . . . You and I, Propelled, controlled by need only, Forced by dark appetites; Lovers, friends, rivals for a time, thinking to choose, And having chosen, losing." Again, long but well worth reading. For a couple years, Nancy had a relationship with a man named Lois Aragon. I found this research paper about Aragon’s personal interest in fairy tales and in the author Lewis Carol. Cunard was instrumental in assisting Aragon to create a printed French translation of the Lewis Carol nonsense poem The Hunting of the Snark. The paper includes this bit, (part of?) a poem Aragon wrote for Cunard during their first trip together-to London. It is a love poem which uses ideas and imagery from Alice in Wonderland (the pdf of this pastes to nonsense so, screenshot.) https://preview.redd.it/s2fc5indab1d1.png?width=944&format=png&auto=webp&s=bb1970d7e6a9ae102351ade13bff00e321c9f2b5 So as interesting as I found all of these connections, I did at many points wonder if I was in fact thinking about all of this way too much. BUT THEN. BUT THEN. I decide, I’m just…gonna google Nancy Cunard and Taylor Swift. See if anything, at all, comes up. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-11956353/Taylor-Swift-films-new-bank-robbery-themed-music-video-Cunard-Building-Liverpool.html The Cunard Building. She filmed the video for I Can See You. In. The. Cunard. Building. The Cunard Building, which was built for the Cunard Steamship Company. Nancy Cunard’s family. So now I officially feel like I’ve lost my mind, but I am even more interested in…where this is going and what is the POINT of it all? All of this suggests to me that TTPD has been HIGHLY HIGHLY staged and planned and executed in ways which seem to encompass all of the ideas of modernism, while making reference to modernists and their work (Louie Fuller, Virginia Woolf). She is using herself and her life, as well as them and their works, as the references for the writing. Leaning into the unreliability of her narration, the parody, and the multiple points of views from switching narrators. And that concludes my post on...introducing Nancy Cunard as a highly probable (in my opinion anyway) inspiration for Taylor's work and life, as well as giving even more context and understanding to what we already knew-she's performing. But trying to be sophisticated about it? And trying to point at a lot of references in order to make us think about the deeper meaning. I'm EXHAUSTED. And so happy I've finished this. Thank you thank you to this sub for the assistance, moral support, brilliant information, and incredible connections that make us all more knowledgable and better critical thinkers. <3 <3 <3
2024.05.19 06:41 Holy_OblivionCurrent Situation within Christian Nationalism Nationwide
Salutations and greetings brothers and sisters in Christ. Having posted last week about the current situation and end state/long term objectives, I would like to identity what the current state of the country is in relative openness to meeting our criteria. A lot of what I write comes from research sources from government websites (such as the US Census Data), research websites from trusted sources (such as the PRRI), or good primary source content from creators or first-person perspectives. Today I want to share a report from PRRI that I references previously in my post about end state and objectives. This will lay out what states have the highest concentrations of support for Christian Nationalism based on research, large groups/concentrations of Orthodox Churches, Large groups/Concentrations of Mainline Protestant churches, and then large groups/concentrations of Evangelical concentrations/groups. Using this data we can distil down to the various different states that would have the highest success rate for growing support for our objectives and end states.
Large groups of mainline protestants function as a potential recruiting opprotunity. As these churches become liberalized and lose membership/die out, it allows for those aligned with our values to recruit and convert these individuals co-oping them into the cause.
Large congregations of Orthodox Churches can be used as a staging ground for the Neo-Orthodoxy revival within America and support the conversion of these churches into an Autocephalous Western Right Apostolic Holy Orthodox Church of America. Our objective number 1 for achieving our end state.
Large support for Christian Nationalism already exists within Evangelical Christianity. This means while conversion to the Neo-Orthodoxy movement to achieve our first objective, it is not strictly necessary if individuals join Evangelical Christian groups which support Christian Nationalism.
These three sources of Christian believers to support the desired end state for Christian Nationalism is essential.
If you recall from my previous post Objective 2 to meet our end state for the Nation is as follows: "38 out of 50 states within the United States must have greater than 50% Christian Nationalists adherents living within them by 2058. (creates super majority)." In this post I identified that we have to focus on 38 states to build up a primary base for changing the geo-political landscape by altering the socio-cultural landscape via Western Anglosphere focus Christian values. Specifically, I call out for a Western Right Orthodox Church of America but any congregation which aligns with Christian Nationalism would suffice. Just that Western Right Orthodoxy would be a solid cornerstone/foundation which would have the structure and adherence rate to survive greater than 80+ years rather than the mercurial protestants denominations which shift like sand. However, if those denominations can stand firm long enough to enact true political reform, amending the constitution, then it is worth to bring those denominations into the fold and act as one body of Christ. Looking at the data from PRRI: Data Here You can see the breakdown of the different states which have high or higher percentage of support to the cause of Christian Nationalism. What this means for us, is it allows us to narrow down to our targeted 38 states we need to achieve our objectives. While we want to be advancing on all fronts, these 38 will have the highest chance of making mounting or achievable impact on Christendom at large.
As previously stated: "New York, Massachusetts, Oregon, Nevada, Maryland, Virginia, Illinois, California, Washington, Connecticut, and New Jersey are below the 25% general support for Christian Nationalism." What this means is that while we should try and spread the cause in all directions to all different states, these states have the lowest chance of it catching flame or finding a foundation.
Interestingly enough however, many of these states have large concentrations of old Orthodoxy residing within them: California, Massachusetts, Illinois, New York, and New Jersey all have large amounts of Orthodox Concentrations. Data Here Sadly they are drowned out by large amounts of non-Christians within these locations. New York, Illinois, and California have large amounts of Mainline Protestant which have the highest amounts of potential pickups of those leaving the denominations after becoming super liberalized towards Orthodox/Christian Nationalists sympathetic groups. Data Here
What this means is that while growth opportunity exists in New York, California, and Illinois we will struggle to gain and maintain a majority within the state just do to the demographic nature and the percentage game. Not that it is not worth our time, but we cannot rely on it. That said we could focus efforts in select swing districts at the local/congressional level in New York, California, and Illinois to possibly bring about pushing them towards the bubble and eroding hyper liberal power bases.
With the date for mentioned, we would have to conclude that these 11 states are not reliable for our growth and target objectives. Again, as with the case of New York, Illinois, and California, growth opportunity exists but not enough to justify targeting those states. Our focus now shifts to the bubble/swing states that we can make a difference to bring to the fold.
As previously stated: "Wisconsin, New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine, Arizona, Utah, Rhode Island, Delaware, Colorado, Hawaii, Pennsylvania, and Michigan are on the 25-29% cusp of supporting Christian Nationalism. Growth opportunity exists but could easily swing the other way.". What this means is that we would need to focus on these swing states and select at least one to focus our attention to bring it above the 30% thresh-hold for sustained and consistent push towards the cause to for fill our objectives.
The largest concentrations of Mainline Protestant denominations and Orthodoxy residing within them is Pennsylvania, with Michigan and Wisconsin in solid second place leading the others. Arizona and Colorado are behind Michigan and Wisconsin but hold a solid base in both Mainline and Orthodoxy. Meaning it would not take much to swing Colorado and Arizona to be more inline with our stated goals that we need to achieve.
Out of the rest, Hawaii might be the biggest outlier and most difficult to change do to geographic reasons. While a solid base for what we wish to accomplish exists, the demographics of such a place are working against us in % of population vs base. I would advocate for throwing out Hawaii and placing it into the below general support category.
Utah is a special case. Mormons, which would best be classified as a wild card, dominate Utah politics along with other Christian denominations. Forward progress will be difficult in Utah, but it might be more of a dialogue than a genuine need for conversion/bringing Utah into alignment.
What this means is that Delaware, Vermont, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, and Maine will be the long haul in this process to round out our 38 required states to align with the Anglosphere Western Right Orthodoxy / support for Christian nationalism. Naturally Vermont and Delaware will present interesting challenges. It would require demographic changes and construction of large amounts of mission work and proselytizing. Alternatives would have to be sought for these two otherwise if needed: Viriginia and New Jersey are likely candidates given the high number of Orthodoxy or Mainline protestants vs Delaware and Vermont.
This leaves us to the 38 states that we have to focus on to achieve our objectives on the strategic level for the United States to regain the conceptualization of Christian nationalism dominated by our Western Right Orthodox Church of America focused on preserving the ideals of Anglosphere cultural and societal roots forward for the next 80-120 years.
Alabama, Alaksa, Arizonia, Arkansas, Colorado, Delaware*, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey*, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah**, Vermont*, Virgina*, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.
Delaware and Vermont can be changed for New Jersey and Virgina respectively which is the reason for the call out. Utah is also a special case given its high Mormon population.
Colorado, New Mexico, Texas, and Arizona have unique opportunities with the largest growing non-white Christian Nationalists groups: Hispanics who are Evangelicals. Continued growth in this area can eventually turn all four corners into solid supporters for our socio-cultural fabric which we wish to layout. Of them, Colorado faces the most pushback but growing areas of support.
Different regions within the 38 states are going to have to move/work in different ways to achieve our objectives. Just because a state has +30% of Christian Nationalists support already AND might traditionally thought politically as a "red" state, that does not mean they align with our core values or end state. New Mexico and Arizona are wildly different than Tennessee, Alabama, and Georgia. Requiring different approaches to changing the views on a local level.
The flexibility of Mainline and Evangelical Protestantism is simultaneously a blessing and a curse. The common faith shared across state borders and regions does not always align culturally or politically. One socio-cultural norm must exist. While sub-cultures are welcome, they cannot deviate from the overarching Anglosphere cultural norm which must dominate to align the whole country with our values and preserve the Republic.
This goes into the objective number 1 to meet our end state for the United States and Christian Nationalism. As stated previously: "Establish one Autocephalous Western Right Apostolic Holy Orthodox Church of America with Romanian, Russian, and Antiochian ceding to this new Orthodox Church with establishment of a Patriarch of America." This will create a large common Holy and Orthodox Church of America that will allow for Anglosphere dominate cultural to thrive from the local/micro level all the way to the macro-country wide level. The church will function both culturally and religiously to preserve our common Anglosphere dominated values and Western conceptualizations of rights within our Republic. As always, please let me know what you think and what can be done to improve. Is this too wordy? Is everyone able to follow along fairly well? Let me know or join the conversation!
2024.05.19 06:40 Tiny-Fruit-1679AITA for accidentally getting custom content from my friend’s girlfriend on OnlyFans?
Hey Reddit, I’m in a bit of a predicament and need some outside perspective. I (28M) recently subscribed to an OnlyFans account that I found on social media. The content creator seemed cool, and I was interested in supporting her work. After a couple of weeks, I decided to request some custom content. I sent in my request and the payment, and she sent back a video. When I opened it, I was shocked to realize that the creator was my friend’s (29M) girlfriend (27F). She and my friend have been dating for about a year, and while I knew she did some online content creation, I had no idea she had an OnlyFans. My friend never mentioned it, and she used a different name for her account, so I didn’t recognize her at first. I immediately felt awkward and guilty. I didn’t want to make things weird, so I didn’t tell my friend. However, a few days later, my friend found out about her OnlyFans through someone else and was upset that I hadn’t mentioned it to him when I found out. He thinks I should have told him right away, especially since I had bought custom content from her. I tried to explain that it was an honest mistake and that I didn’t want to overstep any boundaries or invade their privacy. He’s still mad and thinks I’m an asshole for keeping it a secret and for engaging with her content in the first place. AITA for not telling my friend about his girlfriend’s OnlyFans account as soon as I found out, and for requesting custom content without knowing it was her?
2024.05.19 06:38 AdInteresting2401Dying to be ill - How people make it hard for actual sufferers to be taken serious, hard to find any authentic and not misleading information, brain washing people into self diagnoses
"Could the mods please do something about all the posts promoting treatments/causes that haven’t been backed by science? Colloidal silver, untested alternative medicine, anti-vax theories, etc. presented as unequivocally true. This is supposed to be a science-based sub. Spreading more blatant pseudoscience only gives more fodder to the people who don’t believe MCAS exists." People that spread the internet without an official diagnosis or any prove of an mast cell involvement, antihistamines are used for multiple diseases. There have been people that think they have MCAS because Cromolyn helped their asthma, H1 medication helped their urticaria, or H2 helped their heartburn. These medications are all widely used and are rather "off label" used for MCAS. That is why all 3 criteria need to be present. Websites present various doctors that claim to be "specialists" and who give out diagnoses to anyone based of unspecific symptoms, reportedly these do not even make tests at all. Or use unvalidated biomarkers or questionable diagnostic criteria. Cash is payed upfront. People who actually have a serious and rare disease named MCAS, struggle to be taken seriously, because many doctors are fed up by the sheer amount of psychic conspicuous patients, who only want a proof for their google based self diagnoses. Often times there is no proof and these people make a burden for health care resources. Mast cell medication is free and if you have no relief at all with antihistamines, MCAS is very unlikely. There is not much any further medication that someone would get, if not presented with serious reactions, most of the times anaphylaxis. Ketotifen and cromolyn are also mainly antihistamines, still many gaslight themselfs thinking that that is the medication they need. Primary and secondary MCAS are easy to rule out, due to specific and severe symptoms and quite obvious underlying mechanism like an IgE dependant allergy or the genetic mutation. The diagnosis that is under question is the idiopathic MCAS, where the underlying mechanism is unknown, these people still need to fullfill the diagnostic markers, but in reality this happens only rarely. Still many think they have a secondary MCAS, it is said by certain authors that a secondary MCAS would have a prevalance of 17-30 per cent. They say that long covid and/or T-Cells are the problem. That this would be quite easy to proof if it would be happening they do not care about. That this has already been evaluated they do not care about. The desperate patients are easy to convince it seems. Some people even make claim their MCAS would be due to a root cause of "Sibo", "Leaky gut" or "microbiome disbalance", all which are unrelated to a MCAS and heavenly overdiagnosed or not even proven to excist, just like the whole hEDS and POTS misdiagnoses going on. Mast cells in the gut have been studied and people with IBS have had no success with mast cell treatment. It is also a burden for patients, knowing that even some doctors do not stick to authentic measures and give out misinformation. Maybe because of a conflict of interest? Since most internet posts that come up include misinformation, it is hard for sufferers to find alike. MCAS communities are full of people who do not have MCAS. MCAS sufferers have no community right now. . "My blood and 24hr urine collection testing came back normal. The allergist I saw also told me outright he doubted I had MCAS (a fad diagnosis along with EDS and POTS, as he said) but did end up suggesting I come back to get samples tested during an episode. I was so frustrated with the allergist that I’ve never gone through with that. Instead my amazing primary doctor decided to prescribe me montelukast and monitor my reaction to trialing antihistamines at home, and I had immediate positive response! We also first ruled out everything else he could think of and clearly test for; my main symptom is facial flushing so I had things like lupus and carcinoid syndrome ruled out. Although we treat it as such, I don’t actually have an “official” MCAS diagnosis on my chart. IME the specialists who do inquire about all my meds or listen to my symptoms don’t seem to differentiate between MCAS and allergies/sensitivities anyway :/ but my case isn’t super severe and currently well-controlled so that works for me. Good luck to you - I hope you find proper care regardless of your test results!" . "I have normal tryptase levels and definitely have MCAS. They diagnosed it after POTS, and it was mostly based on symptoms as well as the “scratch test”" . "Spoke about it with my GP, she referred me to an internal medicine doc who specializes in MCAS. I told him my symptoms and he went “yep that sounds like MCAS” and proceeded to literally dump an armful of antihistamine samples into my lap and bounce off to his next appointment. I am definitely in the minority of people whose experience was that easy. It was so easy that I almost don’t believe him." . "This is the same as my experience! Walked in, diagnosed by rheumatologist in 5 mins based off symptoms and loaded up with antihistamines as a starting point. No testing or anything." . "went to my allergist and had the blood work panel done. nothing in it came back weird, but my allergist is treating me as if i have MCAS based on all my symptoms and pictures of flares." . "Went in to get my pots diagnosis and the doctor was like “btw your blood tests show you have mast cell activation syndrome” and then gave me some medicine and did not elaborate further" "As it turned out my diagnosis was literally not true. I don’t have MCAS (and even if i did what they gave me for it was beyond overkill) after talking to an actual allergist I believe that most likely I was given an extra diagnosis on extremely weak basis. Using something from what they saw in my blood so they could bill higher and prescribe more medicine to me. I no longer go to that practice and instead go to a different cardiologist and actively do not recommend going there. Unfortunately this stopped me for years from properly treating my pain as I was trying to treat it on the basis it was being caused by MCAS :/" . "Mine was actually fairly easy when I finally figured out it was MCAS. Got referred to immunology to rule out mastocytosis. Then my PCP at the time did a clinical diagnosis. She wasn’t risking putting me into anaphylaxis to maybe get a positive result on any of the mast cell mediator labs (this doctor was one who didn’t list a diagnosis unless she was confident it isn’t anything else and spent 8 years trying to get an answer). My current doctors don’t question it because my symptoms at this point line up perfectly with MCAS."
The Pink Bible Has anyone tried their products before the wash but specifically the spray. The creator says you can use the spray for the outer and inner lips to keep you fresh all day I’m more interested for my 🍑 then 🐱 but if it works great! I’ve tested a lot of feminine washes rn I use Her Fantasy Box. I tried to show pics of the products it wouldn’t work so I’ve just linked her website.
2024.05.19 06:37 eyesslessnessAmerican Carbonara is authentic... it's just not "carbonara"
For years, YouTube and Italian content creators have made a huge fuss over the American interpretation of carbonara -- eggs, peas, bacon, parm, cream. If you're American, we've all seen it on menus and snidely smirked. "No cream in carbonara" has become such a cliché, they started printing it on shirts. Well. Today, I learned this dish is in fact real, authentic, and Roman! It's called pasta alla papalina, the Italian name for this carbonara inspired dish. Apparently, a pope in mid-century Rome wanted carbonara but requested a few changes. The name references his hat. While he requested prosciutto, some use bacon or even ham. I'd imagine this dish is not very common at all, but it made me laugh after the years of contention. Considering the surprising authenticity, I say us Americans deserve just a little more credit. https://preview.redd.it/8y9x5ff97b1d1.png?width=1000&format=png&auto=webp&s=67e0b62d076cdb2435832711b499e1ad00eda65c
2024.05.19 06:36 Itchy-Ad5488I regret my legal name change
IMPORTANT: I AM NOT IN THE US. DO NOT TRY TO GIVE ME ADVICE BASED ON AMERICAN LAWS OR SYSTEMS. I've been trying to change my name since December. I sent in my paperwork to the government and paid all the required fees. I got a letter in the mail last month telling me that I didn't send in my birth certificate with my paperwork and that they need that before the name change can proceed. Only I'm pretty sure I already sent it with my paperwork. (I can't remember exactly, since it's been a few months.) Either way my birth certificate is lost. I've called their office several times and they keep just sending me to the "head office" which goes directly to voicemail. I can't reach anyone who can help me. I'll probably need to go in person at some point but the office is an hour away and I really don't have the time. Plus I might have to set up an appointment which could be weeks or months away. Even if I do manage to reach someone there, according to their website, they don't take responsibility for lost birth certificates. Meaning that I'll have to apply for and pay for a replacement. Which will take another few months/years. And my name still won't be legally charged. I'm just so frustrated. I paid them a lot of money and they refuse to do the service I paid them for. It's just another layer of stress on top of everything else going on in my life. I regret even bothering with the legal name change. It's just not worth all the stress it's causing me not to mention the hours I've wasted. I feel like I've been scammed. I want my money back. I want my time back.
2024.05.19 06:31 TonyCGMMan or Bear in Woods (MOBW) Introduction
Hi everyone. My name is Tony. I am one of 3 (Australian) devs on this project. I am the lead developer. We are really keen to make a name for ourselves within the community here on reddit and in the meme token space. (I use brackets a lot, sorry in advance, but context is everything!) The project before you is called Man or Bear in Woods (MOBW), coming to the Solana network. I’m hoping it will be a classic! This project in and of itself is not all we are working on. Let's call it the forebearer of a huge undertaking that I can’t name just yet (even though I desperately want to). Please visit our website! manorbearinwoods.com We are working on a huge project that will have something for everyone. It’s a meme project, but it’s also not a meme project. I promise that will make more sense as we release more details! The idea came about from both frustration during early trades, and inspiration from Book of Meme (BOME). Whilst BOME is about meme longevity, and I guess permanency, this project is… bigger. It will be largely run as a business (for the sake of buybacks and engagement). My team and I are relatively new to the Solana meme space, and really I guess we all are (crazy how it’s all come about, right?), but we have learned a lot from observation and participation in this crazy time.Trust is incredibly valuable in the crypto space. I don’t expect anyone to read this and immediately jump on board. But I will attempt to answer any questions that anyone has (without giving TOO much away for now). We are starting a presale for BOMW soon. In the coming days I will give you more details about this and the next token, but for now there are more details on our website (including tokenomics). I will be around a lot to answer any and all questions within my capacity to do so, so ask away!P.S. The question I have been asked the most so far is “when will you give us the details of the big project?”. Well, we plan on releasing details if we make a solid foundation in the presale. If MOBW does well, it will be integrated into the major project. That said, feel free to demand more details, sooner! I was simply outvoted in terms of introducing the larger project as well.
