2024.05.22 01:37 540i6 Overtime Exemption for Helpdesk Tech

Hey guys. So I'm pretty confident that I'm reading rule 17E in the flsa excludes helpdesk / repair techs from being OT exempt. But here I am. I didn't know about this before taking the job, and realistically it's not that much OT to pursue legal action, but long story short the ship has sailed on moving up in this company, I didn't get my promised career advancement framework, and other folks with less experience are getting hired in at higher rates even while raises are "temporarily suspended". I know job hopping right now is hard given the state of the industry, so I'm looking to cut back to a hard 40 limit, and protect myself from retribution, somehow, without telling them I know my rights, until I can find something better.
Basically the problem is this: they schedule us required to be on site from 8-5 with an hour lunch. This lunch break is not protected to be duty free - we have to keep all communications turned on, and are strongly discouraged from leaving our areas to take lunch. What this results in obviously is people walking in during our lunch needing something, and the expectation being to help them in emergency or submit a ticket for them. The workload is not so high that in any given week I cannot accomplish the job within SLA within 40 hours, even if they have an after-hours need. So when there's an after-hours meeting or event, I have to stay over, in unpaid OT, as well as still arriving at my 8am start, for the sake of availability. I feel that they can't have the employer benefit of not paying OT if they get to micromanage our hours just for availability, even if there are no pending tasks. Like if my SLA is 2 hours first response, and I had to stay 2 hours late so come in 2 hours late next day and immediately respond, I'm still within bounds of my metrics. Am I actually needing to go full throttle working for 40 hours a week? No. But I am definitely at minimum "engaged to wait" for this full 40+. Again this is not a super regular occurrence, just when you add it up over the course of a year it adds up to a non-negligible amount. Like I'd be very upset if I were robbed for this amount in any other way. Management has been known to check badge swipe timing and camera footage to make sure we're on time, and has written folks up for it (again even when there was no task scheduled).
One of the general conditions of being salary is flexible hours within business reason, but my scheduled hours are to start before everyone else, leave after everyone else, so there is time to +- 30 minutes without risking any business impact. It's literally just so they can have me available at the helpdesk just in case. "Just in case" scheduling doesn't sound like a very exempt type of workload. Of course if there's a big high prio issue like the network is down, I would get my ass out of bed and be there asap, as well as being on the horn with the other techs to consult. But... fires like that are so uncommon to pop up at random first thing in the morning without already having 50 reporting emails in my inbox that I'd already have seen. I don't have a problem telling them that I'm comping the time just so they know, but having to ask them, rely upon receiving a response (which is maybe 50% likely), and then told no a high amount of the time, or to provide proof that I worked over during the hours I was asked to, seems..... questionable.
What can I do besides play hardball and leaving at 40 at this point? I've never had a salary exempt job before this and just don't know how to navigate the politics of putting my foot down, as a powerless, low paid tech worker in a shitty job market, with managers like this? Best I can really do without anyone noticing is taking long periods of doing no backlog/project work. But that's not really the same as being home, on my own time.

2024.05.22 01:35 SniffCopter Pain between shoulder blade and spine - strengthening exercises needed

TL;DR: Left shoulder is weak. Need exercises to strengthen it for long bike rides
When riding my gravel bike I'm experiencing pain between my left shoulder blade and my spine. It feels like the muscles there are tensing up and tightening. The pain is most pronounced when gripping the hoods, less when gripping further back and least when in the drops.
I am aware that geometry and position on the bike (not engaging the core enough, rounded shoulders etc) can lead to too much weight on the hands and pain in the shoulder and neck and am therefore doing core exercises regularly and trying to keep proper position on the bike.
However, I'd assume that these issues would affect both shoulders to some degree. But so far, the issue doesn't appear on my right side. As far as I can tell, I'm balanced with equal pressure on both palms (or maybe even slightly favoring my left side by putting more pressure on the right because of pain).
Which leads me to believe that the muscle between my left shoulder blade and my spine is probably particularly weak (possibly from chilling on my couch for years on my left side propping myself up on my left elbow?).
I am looking for exercises that strengthen this particular muscle. Not to increase max strength but to improve it's performance in an endurance setting of course (long bike rides holding my upper body to some degree and making micro adjustments to steering etc). Any help and suggestions will be much appreciated!
If anyone knows any good stretches for this muscle that would also be great! "Classic" shoulder stretches and foam rolling over the area don't seem to get the best results and the muscle stays tight for days.
Thank you!

2024.05.22 01:04 StoicDuck Just finished FFIV (DS) - a mini-review

I had a great time with this one. I'm a relative newcomer to the series and didn't grow up playing the games. My first FF was FFX, and FFIV is the first game in the series I've played prior to VII. I know the 3D look of the DS games is polarizing, but for me having never played any 2D FFs before, the 3D felt like a natural extension of the style that VII / VIII / IX have. For some reason, the original NES/SNES pixel graphics of FF feel like a taste I haven't quite acquired yet, even though I've played lots of old 2D games from other series.
I've read that FFIV DS is the hardest final fantasy game, or at least arguably so. And it was definitely challenging at times. I ended up using a guide for boss strategy, because if I hadn't it probably would have taken me way too long to finish. Also, I would have been completely lost on how to find/use the Augments without a guide, so unless you want to mindlessly re-tread every area in the game multiple times (and over multiple playthroughts) hunting for them, I recommend it. The game just doesn't telegraph how that system works really at all.
Aside from that though, the difficulty wasn't too bad. In FF games that are less combat-oriented, battles can really start to feel repetitive and cause me to lose engagement with the game. FFIV DS's regular combat encounters were just challenging enough to keep me on my toes in a way that was enjoyable. I did not like the ATB system when I first played VII. I'm still not the biggest fan of ATB and prefer traditional turn-based systems. However, ATB was more enjoyable in FFIV and I think it's used well here, which makes sense since FFIV introduced it.
I enjoyed the 3D cutscenes and even the voice acting was serviceable. Nothing amazing but never bad enough to take me out of the experience. It beat my expectations.
I think the game was well paced. I don't know if this was part of the original game, but in the DS remake there's a system where you get rewards to fully exploring each section of a dungeon. It was fun to walk around exploring every nook and cranny to see that explored % tick up, and this caused me to do more combat encounters in the process, which kept me well leveled. Aside from maybe once or twice early game I never had a moment where I felt like I needed to intentionally set aside time to grind up. Compared to FFX, which for me required multiple hours of dedicated grinding to feel prepared for the final boss, this was a welcome change.
Finally, the final dungeon was pretty epic. Only having a couple save points in an 13 ~ floor dungeon required strategic judgement in terms of when to press onwards and when to teleport out to save and rest. Probably not everyone's cup of tea, but I enjoyed the challenge.
I think my only complaint is that the game feels extremely linear and aside from the Augment system there isn't much room for player expression or choice in how you develop your party. But I get it, that's not what this game was trying to do.
Next up I'm going to try FFIII DS. I played the 3D remake on Android for a few hours ages ago and it was technically the first FF game I ever played that made me realize I enjoyed the series. I know the PR is much preferred today, but I'm going to dive into the DS version for nostalgia's sake if nothing else. Cheers!

2024.05.22 00:44 Kidlike101 (long dream) I dreamt a full story, character arcs and all.

In the dream we "fell" into a weird city. By we I mean me and a few family members including my grandparents.
.
Anyway the city is exceptionally clean and the people there very religious with regular sermons.
.
Now I instinctively hated it because everyone was smiling all the time and had this "be like everyone else" attitude. It was a bit creepy.
.
Over time I got to know a few people there well enough to get invited to a wedding. Here's the odd part, for how religious they were the bride was practically naked! I tried to hint that the dress might not be appropriate for a church wedding but got laughed at since it was a TRADITIONAL wedding dress... it was a slip of see-through fabric with beading covering her privates...
.
Then the brides entourage came in and yeah they confirmed it was a lovely traditional dress. Also why was I dressed like that? Clearly that was too much and the bride's aunt tried to take my bra off to match everyone. (one of us, one of us, one of us).
.
When I refused she took of her own bra and offered to swap since it's smaller so will cover less. I managed to escape to the bathroom promising to practically strip in private.
.
Well, not the bathroom, turned out to be a broom closet / storage area. but at least the crazy people were on the other side, thought I might be able to wait it out.
.
Looking around the storage area I found something odd. There was "old" tech here. By that I mean from our day but the whole city was practically amish that I though we got teleported to the past. I found one device I didn't recognize so when the coast was clear I got out in the open and tried it out.
.
It caused me to shoot through the sky. No literally up through the cloudish part only to discover this wasn't the sky, it was the waters surface. The whole city was under water but since we could breath and move normally we didn't notice! It explained why the sky never had a gradient, it was all one solid color depending on the time of day.
.
On the "sky" two things were notable. First, two groups of golems were fighting and throwing rocks at each other. Rock golems (yellow-orange so maybe sand rock) & slab golems (grey rocks, very smooth). The debris fell to the city blew as gods judgement when it hit someone!
.
Also here was another city. This one was old and basically a ruin over grown with vegetation. Looking through it I found a few people who were far more normal and reasonable.
.
Going back a few time I was convinced something went wrong with our civilization, the city above was clearly one from our time now in ruins while the one underwater was more recently built. The ones living below had such a strong herd mentality that my own family was starting to get compliant and integrate. I tried to talk them into visiting the city in the sky, to see that this is all under water but they weren't interested, especially grandma that was feeling comfortable that grandpa was back in this world (died in 2012). Also wouldn't it be dangerous with the fighting golems? Solve that first then we'll see.
.
Going up I asked the golems why they were fighting... it turned out that was because the sand golem leader had boobs and the slabs saw that as obscene... yeah really... I had them talk it over because the debris was hurting the people below.
.
The sand golem shrugged and said they weren't people, just ants. When I asked about the people in the sky city they said "you don't know already?". As for who I was, well, they were going to talk to the slabs now so if I wanted an answer keep sailing towards the light in distance.
.
This part I didn't mention, during my trips to the sky city I started to notice odd things. Yes it was a modern one now in ruins, yes it was full of plants so it was weird that the people that lived here acted and talked so civilized. But also another thing, witch symbols. Those were everywhere. Shrubs that were cut in the form of a witch's hat or pointy boots, statues of witches, magic symbols carved into the trees... etc. it was like a halloween set up in an ancient ruin. I kept trying to overlook it because the underwater city preached against witchcraft and heresy, clearly those were the nut jobs so anything they say should be disregarded... right? Also the people in the sky city were so normal & reasonable that no way they'd really be the bad guys. The undewater city had to be ignorant, that was totally it.
.
The day I confronted the golems however was the day I found out the truth. While exploring the ruin I came across the communal kitchen. It was just a bunch of old fridges with forged food. One of them however contained a bag of blood. The girl showing me around said "Oh goody, there is one left" and snatched it from my hands sucking it up like capri sun. "Sorry but this is for our coven, Blood is how us witches get our knowledge and stay young after all. Can't share that without a price." Which is when it hit me that everyone here, while talking like an adult, looked so young and ageless. Also that they didn't know that me, and probably my family, would be considered food in a place like this, they thought I was a visiting witch hence the civility.
.
The golem's words hit me hard. Yes, I knew. I just didn't want to acknowledge it because it meant I can't stay here. At the same time I didn't want to go back to the underwater city.
That only left sailing away into the unknown. My family refused to join, they were staying in the underwater city so... just me... Sailing into the light. Took awhile stuck between the two worlds, but in the end I made my own raft and set sail towards the light in the distance.

2024.05.22 00:41 chillchamp Newbie questions about harvesting my castings

So I made myself a flow through worm bin (appr. 60l) inspired by the hungry bin. I watched a couple of YouTube videos and filled it up about 2/3rds with regular moistened store bought composting soil mixed with some hemp fiber. I added the worms (Red Wrigglers and European Nightcrawlers) and topped everything with a hemp mat. They tried to escape for two days but started to produce castings immediately and are now munching up the hemp mat and the small amounts of melon skin I feed them. They somewhat settled down and seen happy and less active now. When I open the lid the walls and the inside of the lid are moist and there are only a few worms on the sides.
As I understand the worms will mostly live in the top soil and rarely go to the lower areas of the bin. Am I right to understand that there will be barely any castings in the lower area of the bin no matter how long I wait? How long should I wait before I start removing the soil from the bottom? Will this soil be any different from the soil I added in the beginning or should I mix it up all the way to the bottom regularly?
So many questions, I hope someone will help me out :)

2024.05.22 00:33 Additional_Syrup_375 ♥ Feels like I will never have an irl friend to share this with

Sorry I lost the email attached to my old acc. but I used to post here a lil bit. I just wanted to let out some feelings of loneliness :/
Lately I've been getting sadder and sadder at the fact that I don't meet anyone around my age who shares the interest. I'm a young adult and I love to dress cutesy and do cutesy things. I just want a fellow agere friend to go to amusement parks with, have playdates, etc.
My friends accept me as I am but I'm constantly worried about embarrassing them (how I dress and how I am) and sometimes it hurts when I feel on a different wavelength than they are.
I refuse to hide who I am :c I tried that, but ever since I began to accept myself and be much more open I am so happy...but alone?
Today is so beautiful and I wanted to go to the beach after work. I've been wanting to buy one of those kids play tents (that look like a cute little house or smthn) and just hang in that, with a little/middle/etc. friend and just...chill with our plushies, then get ice cream after. That would be a dream. And just have regular playdates doing what my friend wants, and doing what I want, I wish :( I just have a lot of...y2k nostalgia ugh
Irl I haven't met anyone else like me, I don't think. I mean afaik anyways. I'm sure many people hide this aspect of themselves / don't wear it on their sleeves.
And like I GUESS I could try to look for meetup stuff in my area, but I'm worried about predatory people, and worried about people being too much older than I am, or worried about the space being male-dominated ://
And any time I try to connect w/people in this reddit (on my old acc) nothing ever went anywhere. Which is fine, I prefer stuff to happen naturally and not be forced but. Oof. Just stinks!!!
Anyways havea lovely day you all deserve it.

2024.05.22 00:31 Aggravating_Rate3271 chance an uncertain STEM student for T10 universities 🙏 (looking for what to improve)

Hello! Here is some of my info. Can I get my chances at the top comp sci and physics schools? In no particular order, I'm looking at Stanford, Princeton, MIT, Cornell, UPenn, Caltech, CMU, Berkeley, Harvard, Yale, Georgia Tech, and other top comp sci programs. I have no idea what my top choice college is right now. Keeping info intentionally vague in some areas. Thanks!
Demographics: Male, White, Private School.
Hooks: None :(
Intended Major: Computer Science/Physics
SAT: 1590 (Paper version back in sophomore year, 800M 790E)
PSAT: 1520 (I'm going to try for national merit finalist in the fall)
Current GPA: 4.0 UW / 5.04 W - correlates to ~98 pct average in AP and Honors courses.
Coursework: 10 APs. Just finished AP exams for 5 of them, the others went as follows. AP Chem (5), AP Comp Sci Principles (5), AP Lang (5), APUSH (5), AP Human Geo (4). Predicting 5s on the following exams this year: Calc AB, Biology, Comp Sci A, good chance at 5s on Literature and Euro but I'm less sure about those two.
Note: planning to take 5 more AP’s my senior year, so total AP count is going to be 15.
ECs (no particular order):
  1. Founded and am currently managing a mental health organization that teaches strategies for improving mental health while also excelling academically. The organization has >10 chapters in 3 different states and 2 different countries, and has ~100 official members
  2. Varsity Rower on my school's rowing team since sophomore year, also rowed in Freshman year and went to scholastic nationals.
  3. Member of High School Honors Jazz Band, earned Superior evaluation at sophomore year MPAs.
  4. Astrophysics research project with professor from top state university, and I co-authored a paper about the project that is now published in two journals.
  5. Elected as one of two Student Council representatives for my grade, and work on organizing school related events as well as managing student suggestions.
  6. Personally founded and managed an initiative to get gluten-free food in local food kitchens due to the lack of Celiac awareness in these organizations. Currently, have facilitated the introduction of gluten free meals into my local food kitchen that serves the community, and am reaching out to even more in the area.
  7. Won a Grand Award at the State Science and Engineering Fair (1st in the Physics and Astronomy category out of the entire state) and qualified to be an ISEF finalist.
  8. Member of another student council organization since sophomore year that helps organize school events.
  9. Another astrophysics research project with top professor in the field (reason why this is so vague is because it's in beginning stages, but I expect it will be just as important and go just as far in science fair as my last one if not farther)
  10. Regular volunteer work (total of 100+ hours) as a Math, English, History, Chemistry, and SAT prep tutor for the past 2 years.
Can I get some chances at those colleges I mentioned above? Stats wise, I'm pretty sure I stack up against other applicants, but I'm not sure if my ECs are strong enough plus the fact that I don't have any hooks. If possible, include the chances for regular vs. early for the colleges that have early programs which offer a significant increase in admission. Also, if you have any other colleges in mind that you think would be a good fit please comment those!

2024.05.22 00:27 AspiringProgrammer93 30 [M4F] #UK/Anywhere- Seeking a Kindred Spirit for Adventure and Deep Conversations

I'm a 30-year-old introvert who enjoys the quieter moments, but I also have a sense of adventure. I'm into traveling abroad, hiking through beautiful landscapes, and exploring new places. I have a short social battery, so I tend to recharge with some downtime, but with the right person, I can be a great companion. Ultimately, I'm looking for something serious and long-term. I would like to have kids someday and dream of building a home in a remote mountainous area where I can enjoy nature and peace.
I'm 5'11" with an average build, and I hit the gym regularly to stay in shape. I work full-time and also study part-time and recently have setup a business so I keep pretty busy. When I do find some free time, I like playing video games, especially puzzle-solving ones, and I also enjoy coding. I’m a big fan of Christopher Nolan, and my favorite movie is Memento, which I've wached so many times.
One of my favorite things to do is engage in deep conversations. I love thinking about big questions and discussing them with someone who’s equally intrigued. If you’re into that, I think we’d get along great.
I'm not into social media like Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok, etc. If that's a big part of your life which you're also looking for in a potential partenr, I might not be the right person for you. I prefer to spend my time with people in person or through meaningful conversations over the phone or via messages.
I'm looking for someone who also enjoys deep discussions, likes adventures, and is either introverted or extroverted—it doesn't matter as long as you respect my need for occasional alone time. Ideally, you don't have kids, you don't smoke, and religion isn't a deal-breaker for you, as it's not a significant part of my life (I don't believe in God).
I'm open to a long-distance relationship but I'd like to meet in person regularly once we're both comfortable. To set expectations, I may not share a picture of myself with you until I'm comfortable with who you are.
If this sounds like you, I'd love to chat and see where things go.

2024.05.22 00:09 DePlano Harbor Freight vibra plate?

I can get a HF vibraplate for a third the price of a decent used one. A quarter the price of a nice new one. If I rented one (from one of the closest, but most expensive in my area) for a week it would be $625. Harbor Freight has it for $700
Has anyone used one? Is it just not worth it? Fine for someone using it 20-30 days a year?
I have a mile and a half driveway that needs regular maintenance

2024.05.22 00:04 Vadic_Shrike Park closing rides/areas

I often closed the park with Thunder Mtn. The ride itself is often a loud cheering and hollering party with other evening guests. It varied, but each time was always vocal and fun.
There are other evening crowd, park closing hotspots. Haunted Mansion, an iconic and vintage setting for this experience. The wait line is often a walk on. You're in the first room, then elevator, then hallway with other people. They're often animated and enthusiastic at night. So if you're in the mood for that, this spot is reliable.
I wondered if Jungle Cruise had the same at closing. I hoped so, with the CM tour guide being like the party MC. But in the few times I tried, it was a regular vibe for that ride.
Runaway Railway seems to have a park closing following. The crowd's been like that at closing time, when I was there. I don't mean planned gatherings. More of a natural excitement in the air, about going on one last ride before walking down Main Street to exit the park.
And there's the train that travels around the DL park. The last ride, shortly after closing, will pick people up at each statoin. But won't let them dismount until the Main Street station. Many guests familiar with this like to exit the park this way.
And of course, Main Street, which is open for another hour. Emporium and other stores. Hanging out in the front area, surrounded by the train station, fire station, and other notable structures.

DIVINATION AND FORTUNE TELLING #astrology #tarot #tarotreading #tarotcards
Divination is the practice or the process of inquiring knowledge of the unknown or the future by using supernatural methods as well as other items like Dice and tarot. Dice have a pretty long history as oracles. They were famous in ancient Rome and Greece. Again, they are prominent in medieval Europe. As you try to use dice for the first time, you will realize that there is a big distinction from other types of divination (like tarot). Further, it is normally an excellent idea to try different divination systems always to find out which parts of them we need to bring into our individual practice. Quite frequently, this is simply the latest deck in a way that we readily understand; however, it is still significant to look at completely various physical tools. One of the very interesting for contemporary readers is dice.
The basics of Dice.
Typically, dice oracles fall into two major styles; the “book” and the “hand”. First, the “Book” method includes generating a number and then picking up the analogous passage on a page. The subsequent could be anything from poetic verse to precise instructions and often would not relate right to the numbers that were initially rolled. The listing for the subsequent passage, 327, would have a completely unique meaning (and not related to 3, 2 or 7 at all). Therefore, you would have to carry both your dice and the whole book of answers with you to perform the divination. Surprisingly, this is a compelling tradition with many years of history behind it. Furthermore, there is another method- that opens up additional possibilities.
There are sound differences with using dice rather than cards that are fun as well. Cards come with fixed art that can be deciphered or reveal concealed symbolism, guided by the artist. They just have those particular structures and images (like a decision on number order, trump names and art style). The dots or marks on dice are very simple, by contrast, that they get out of the reader’s way and give room for wider accounts to be brought to the reading- particularly on something as rich as the components, which have a lot of aspects to them. The components exist as absolute magical ideals but as the solid reality we find around as too. In fact, they are even in us, as the power of our bones, the heat in our blood.
Physical dice fast become magical tools that have all of these opportunities, alive with potential. With only one six-sided die inside your pocket, you have a straight line to a big part of Western magic. Rather than turning a card to be given with a response, this sounds more as if you generate each component separately yourself using an action from your hand.
On the other hand, dice and cards are of course so comparable. (As a matter of fact, in case each of the aggregate in this oracle was painted onto a card, then the outcome deck of 72 cards would produce precisely the same possibility of each answer as it does at the moment with dice). Certainly, this is a concern we need to always be conscious of when designing a system of divination: you can just have the outcomes that put in. In this regard, none of the outcomes should have less of the possibility than others except that is something for which you have intentionally thought of and planned for. Complex systems can be enjoyable, and you can make use of charts, cards, and lengths of string, colored beads, or a combination of these! As an initial step, the very fulfilling and elegant can be done with only a one die in your pocket without the possibility of losing any of the beauty or depth.
📷Other things that make dice preferable.
Using cards is convenient as well. They are quite smaller compared to a full deck of cards. For this, from a public point of view, they do not resemble the occult object. Furthermore, there are various beautiful alternatives for you. These include metals and colors of your preference, wooden dice in a small box, various sizes, in a pocket or simply in bags. Definitely, the dice you use for divination is your magical devices and needs to be kept and utilized only for magical reasons in the same manners that many individuals do with tarot cards.
From their first form as small animal bones, the dice have been an important component of the whole history of divination. We usually find runes, cards and even sticks available to purchase as oracles. Nevertheless, dice appear to be so ordinary. We notice their sis sides and imagine that they can just give six answers. Rather, they open up such a big area of possible images and information: loving relationships, high-energy battles, landscapes of guaranteed success or warnings of questionable foundations. This just comes from a single die. Readers looking for a unique encounter or change of directions need to consider adding the humble dice in their search.
Divination by scrying.
Scrying, otherwise known as “crystal gazing” is a method by which an individual “gazes” onto a reflective thing. Still, quite a number of people use a scrying mirror or crystal ball. Scrying mirrors are basically concave opaque parts of glass. They are pretty appealing. Nevertheless, you can scry on simply about any reflective exterior, a piece of metal, a bowl of water or a mirror. In some cases, some people can even scry in flames or smoke.
The aim of scrying is to get information. Some people think that this information is presented psychically or clairvoyantly. Others believe the scrying procedure just clears the mind for information from the source or the Universe to flow more smoothly. The information obtained can be used to satisfy an entire host of concerns and questions. Sometimes, the information given is so accurate that the scryer will see visions of actual places, people and events. In some instances, the information given is symbolic just like a dream and has to be interpreted.
From another point of view, open eye scrying requires regular exercise and concentration. Actually, some people find it hard to focus their attention with their eyes open. Luckily, other people are natural scryers. Due to this, they have the ability to focus and images start to appear almost instantaneously. You may never get the hang of it. However, at some point, you may be able to gain images in a carefree state, on your eyelids, with your eyes shut. If you do some research and inquire from others, you may find that they also apply the same method suggesting that that could be another form of scrying. Assuredly, many people will not regard that as a way of scrying because it does not include a “tool” like a mirror outside the person. Besides, you may realize that that is a very effective technique to practice scrying with your eyes closed. In fact, it could be one way that will help you relax and receive essential images. While that may work for some people, others may find it quite irrelevant too. Seemingly, everyone has their best ways of scrying in the bid to get the ultimate goal.
📷Rune reading.
Runes (Witch’s Runes) are simplistic pictograms that pair concepts with symbols that are very acceptable in this contemporary world. In my late teen years, I came across the Witch’s Runes and they really made an impact on me. First, they were few in numbers, easy for me to differentiate from one another and clear to learn. In some ways, these were a groundbreaking entry to the concept of complex symbolism in my case. Because the witch’s Runes are not an old script, they have no particular sound or pronunciation; the headings of the runes are in normal English.
There is a lot less to get here, yet they more often than not be applied conversely with the Elder Futhark in this process of divination. In case you feel content with the Elder Futhark, start learning the Witch’s Runes besides them and realize how the two compare and contrast in your personal practice. If you are still working with the Elder Futhark, you can continue, or you can go back and master the Witch’s Runes first in case both time and memorization are obstacles for you.

  • Rune number– the Witch’s Rune is manifested in particular order, just like other rune rows, although they are not a script.
  • Rune name– the Witch’s Rune name is given in English and is directly mirrored by the image.
  • Think– Pictograms are not definite representations of their concepts, remarkably since there are elusive nuances for each rune. There is some imagery correlated to each rune that may assist you to link them with their meanings. You may be having other imagery that best for you and you can go with it as you wish.
There are only some of the obvious meanings for the runes that work for most people. For your own good, you may add them with time or alter those that do not seem suitable.
Most people prefer touse Tarot Reading as a method of fortune telling:
Quickly learn how to use tarot for daily benefits. Ordinarily, people know tarot as a tool for telling the future or answering questions. Nevertheless, tarot can also be employed in other things other than asking questions. It is always recommendable to take short time while pulling cards. Generally, time is important, and mere acts of…Read More: How To Use Tarot Daily For Benefits

2024.05.21 23:59 Dry_Bear_8332 What can cause a weakened immune system? Can someone please offer an opinion 🥰

I’d really appreciate any advice and reassurance.
I (29 year old female) have felt something was off for two years after having a baby in 2022.
It started with unexplained gut issues: - fast bowel motility - undigested food in stools - a weird pattern of major 3 day long cramping sessions accompanied with frequent diarrhoea that would resolve when I stopped eating for a day or two. Cycle happened a few times a month. - low b12 and iron but I eat meat regularly
As time went on: - dermatitis-like rashes in breast that come and go - also dry red skin on vulva area - noticed the appearance of flat warts in numerous body locations - more recently, have been dealing with constant staph infections (mainly boils, one turned into a nasty abscess and needed antibiotics) and still am.
My gut issues are still here two years on but Amitryptyline medication has reduced the cramping episodes by 80%. My breast eczema comes and goes and the staph&warts are more recent (within 6months).
At the beginning of this year (2024):
These episodes come and go too, I can be okay for a few weeks and then they trigger, sometimes without a cause I can identify.
Tests I’ve had for my gut in late 2022: - colonoscopy (polyps removed) - gastroscopy (gastritis) - mri small bowel (no findings) - abdominal ultrasound in 2023 (clear)
I’ve had normal fbc, lft, kidney function tests, protein electrophoresis etc through these two years. The only exception was:
Previous bloodwork showing some abnormalities:
https://ibb.co/VT7CHcG
https://ibb.co/GdYSFXy
As compared to my normal results, done a week after the odd ones:
Most recent bloodwork:
https://ibb.co/Msr6GpH
https://ibb.co/kSRmN53
https://ibb.co/99VFjTw
https://ibb.co/bzH9V7F
Other info: - I’m a very anxious person, the last two years have been chronic stress filled. - major health anxiety after having a baby due to my gut issues and ocd, for a year I felt like I had cancer and still worry about it. - my appetite hasn’t been there since gut issues started, it’s like I’m disconnected from my gut - I don’t get hunger pangs etc anymore. - breastfeeding for 25 months
I’d really appreciate any opinions on whether this is likely to be something sinister or not. I’m constantly worried I have cancer and going to lose my child 😣 I really appreciate any comments.
Thank you

Are You Ready to Pass? Understanding Driving Test Marking, Faults, and Results

Passing the driving test is a pivotal moment for any aspiring driver. It marks the transition from learning to becoming a licensed driver. At Get Drivers Ed, we understand that preparing for this test involves more than just knowing how to operate a vehicle; it's about understanding the intricacies of the test itself—how it's marked, the common faults that lead to failure, and what results mean for you. This blog post will delve into these aspects to ensure you are fully prepared to pass your driving test.

The Structure of the Driving Test

Before we explore the marking criteria, it’s important to understand the structure of the driving test. Typically, it consists of two parts:
Theory Test: This includes a set of multiple-choice questions and a hazard perception test. The theory test assesses your understanding of road signs, traffic laws, and safe driving practices. It ensures that you have the necessary knowledge to make informed decisions while driving.
Practical Driving Test: This is an on-road test where you will be tested on your ability to handle the car safely and correctly in various road and traffic conditions. The practical test evaluates your real-world driving skills, including vehicle control, observation, and decision-making.
At Get Drivers Ed, our comprehensive courses cover both these aspects thoroughly to ensure you’re well-prepared. We provide extensive resources and practice materials to help you succeed in the theory test, and our practical training sessions are designed to build your confidence and competence on the road.

How Driving Tests Are Marked

The practical driving test is marked based on your ability to drive safely and independently while adhering to the rules of the road. Examiners look for a wide range of skills:
Control and Vehicle Handling: Your ability to control the vehicle smoothly, including steering, braking, and accelerating. Proper vehicle handling is crucial for safe driving, and examiners will be looking for precise control in various situations.

Each of these categories has specific criteria that must be met to pass the test. At Get Drivers Ed, our instructors emphasize these skills in our training sessions, ensuring that you know exactly what examiners are looking for.
Understanding Faults
During the driving test, faults are categorized into three types:
Minor Faults: These do not directly impact safety but could lead to a more serious fault if repeated. You are allowed a certain number of minor faults; however, accumulating too many will result in failing the test. Examples include slight hesitation or minor errors in judgment.
Major Faults: These are serious faults that have potential safety implications or break traffic laws. A single major fault is enough to fail a driving test. Examples include failing to give way or making an incorrect lane change.
Dangerous Faults: These involve actual danger to you, the examiner, the public, or property. Like major faults, one dangerous fault will result in failure. Examples include running a red light or causing a near-miss accident.
In our comprehensive course at Get Drivers Ed, we use simulated test scenarios to teach students how to avoid these faults, focusing on precise and mindful driving. Our instructors provide detailed feedback on your performance, helping you to identify and correct any weaknesses.
Tips to Avoid Common Faults
To give you an edge, here are some tips to avoid common faults:
Stay Calm and Focused: Nerves can affect your driving. Practice relaxation techniques and stay focused on the task at hand. Breathing exercises, visualization, and positive thinking can help you remain calm during the test.
Regular Checks: Constantly check your mirrors and blind spots for any hazards. Good observation habits are essential for safe driving and can prevent many common faults.
Follow Instructions: Pay close attention to the test examiner’s directions and follow them carefully. Ensure you understand each instruction before proceeding and ask for clarification if needed.
Practice, Practice, Practice: Regular practice in various driving conditions is crucial. The more experience you gain, the more comfortable and confident you will become.

2024.05.21 23:57 FI_321 Overnight for a 13 year old

I’m a single parent to one 13, almost 14 year old son. I can easily leave him home until pretty late, but never overnight.
I’m thinking about hiring a sitter for semi regular Friday or Saturday overnights. My son is completely independent. He will order doordash for meals or I’ll have something prepared, so no worries about that. The sitter will most likely have very little contact with him. I just need an adult around in case of an emergency. They will have the main living and kitchen area all to themselves. I have a guest bedroom as well and they can sleep the entire time if they want.
I was thinking something like 11pm-7am. The sitter could use my door code to let themselves in, check in with my kid, and that’s it.
Is this something people even do? I put this job on Sittercity, and I have some applicants already, but I wonder if they even read the job description. No one has responded anything that tells me they understand the job. I guess I’ll contact one and find out, but thought I would get Reddits opinion first.
I’m not sure what a reasonable rate is either for this kind of job. I’m in a HCOL DC suburb. $20 an hour? I really have no clue.

2024.05.21 23:54 Independent-Ad-7767 How to encourage airplant to bloom

I've had two small ionanthas for 2+ years now, and recently got a bigger airplant (darker green, red hued on the inside). I'm making an effort to take better care of them now (moved to area with better sunlight, more regular waterings), but how do I encourage it to bloom?
I heard that this one guy on YT encouraged his to bloom by placing it in a bag with apples, and then another person put banana peels beside them lol. Does this method work at all?

2024.05.21 23:46 dodekahedron Does anyone here have ACNES?

Would love to hear your journey to get a DX and treatment and how it worked for you.
My longer story:
I am legitimately accident prone. In 2018 was in a car accident and lost against the steering wheel.
Approximately where your gallbladder is started experiencing sharp pains. Also rotator cuff damage on that side.
I had my gallbladder taken out on the chance it was that. No HIDA scan necessary, they saw an incidental gallstone on us like a year prior. Never had issues and it wasn't what we were looking for at the time.
I also had shoulder surgery, they suspected a SLAP tear based on my symptoms and pain location (pain starts in the front and wraps around into my scapular area. Although it was hard to tell where it started until recently)
No slap tear confirmed via scope
At this point I'm told intercostal neuralgia, modify my life style.
So I stop using my abs and let my body develop compensations.
Never using my core resulted in liveable pain levels (but still present)
Enter 2022. I break my knee and do something to my thigh/hip
Finally in 2024 after failing numerous regular PTs I'm put into Pelvic Floor PT.
Last week she starts assigning core exercises.
As soon as I activate my deep abdominal muscles the pain climbs and hasn't left since.
And it's pain, not soreness from something new.
Now I can't sleep cough or laugh.
Pacing seems to help.
So anyway I had a light bulb moment when that happened and am thinking I don't have intercostal neuralgia, but possibly ACNES still don't think that does anything to HELP me..
But if you do have this how did you get over it? I need to heal my core to heal my leg to have some sort of life.

2024.05.21 23:45 Cowbellcheer Am I going to get in trouble for digging baby trees in city areas that have grown from larger trees that have self seeded?

The city does a wonderful job of planting and maintaining treed areas with wood chips. They regularly add more wood chips to areas for weeds and it suffocates new growth or they cut down the unwanted. I want to save the small unwanted trees. Are there any concerns with this plan? Thanks.
