My current PC, which has a Ryzen 7 3700X cpu & Radeon RX 5700 gpu is rapidly losing performance with it's age. I'm looking for advice on if I need a new one/what to do. My concern should I choose to replace just one or two parts is that I'm unsure what's causing the issues (I know the GPU is having issues) and I'm concerned if I replace it part by part and end up having to do it all anyway then it'll be super expensive and a lot of work. I'm happy to offer more info about what I have/am looking for if needed. I haven't build a computer before, but from what I've read it should be manageable following youtube guides?

I am new to the Rim and Tire World, especially to the 2nd Gen, so I wanted to post up and ask for some advice regarding rims and tires. I don't know anything about good brands and types of tires, good brands and types of aftermarket rims, where to look to find good ones... so if anyone is willing to share some Rim And Tire Advice I would be very appreciative.
Have a GE8 sport, not sure if Base vs Sport has different wheel well sizes. Anyway, I'd be going for an off road type of look. I'm thinking smaller 15-inch rims plus taller tires. Here are the criteria I'd like to satisfy:

• 15 inch aftermarket rims, AS LIGHT AS REASONABLY POSSIBLE. ideally the lighter rims should offset the added weight of the giant tires to not put too much additional strain on the car
• off road tires for 15 inch rims, as tall as possible while still fitting in the wheel well. something that looks offroad-y would be cool like tires with protruded treads or whatever, but if that can't happen then just some big tires that are all-season should suffice.
• a width/height combo of the above that WILL NOT REQUIRE WHEEL SPACERS. those cheapo Tema4x4 2 inch suspension blocks are fine, I just don't want wheel spacers; i.e. i have to make the rims to stick out of the car further

Paramount: Deal Rumors Aside, What About The Operations? Can The Company Turn A Profit?

Summary
Paramount Global remains my worst investment, but I still believe in its potential for success.
Paramount's "lack of scale" is not the reason for its underperformance as it spends about as much on content as industry leader Netflix.
Paramount's loss last year was largely the result of one-off writedowns, both domestically and internationally. These losses will not repeat going forward.
Paramount's streaming operation suffers not from lack of scale, but an abundance of overload waste, which may be alleviated under new management.

Paramount Global (NASDAQ:PARA) (NASDAQ:PARAA) remains my worst investment. Let's just get that clear from the start. I said two years ago it was madness not to buy Paramount. That was wrong, wrong, wrong. The fact that I recommended against buying the new Warner Discovery at the same time, and heeding that warning saved a lot of money, makes me feel a little better, but not much.
And no, the fact that Warren Buffett made the exact same mistake as me doesn't help much, either. Mr. Buffett and I are about to part ways, anyway. He is now completely sold out of Paramount, while I am hanging in. Yes, I am still buying. Get all the ribbing out of your systems, and then read on.
Although a few rounds remain to be played in the game, it is no longer inconceivable that none of the various deal permutations that have been put forward for Paramount will pan out, and that it will continue as an independent company. Essentially, Redstone will block a deal with Apollo Global Management, Inc. (APO) and Sony Group Corporation (SONY) and the 'B' shareholders will litigate a Skydance deal to death.
Because so many Seeking Alpha articles are already offering a blow-by-blow analysis of the deal talks - and I absolutely encourage you to read them - I wanted to turn back for just a minute to a more in-depth look at Paramount's actual operations. If it stays independent, can it turn itself around?
Scale Is Not The Issue I'm angry. Usually, when an investment goes wrong, I can manage to be philosophical or even dispassionate about it. Risks of the trade, can't win 'em all, pick your maxim.
But this one is really getting to me. I'm sure part of that is simply the sheer amount of my portfolio that has suffered - I bet a lot more on Paramount than I did on my typical investment, so sure was I that it had the tools needed for success. Fortunately, some of my other media investments have worked out much, much better, or I'd really be hurting. In fact, my Netflix buy has repaired all the damage my Paramount buy has done.
Still, I'm unusually angry, partly because of the sheer amount lost. But it's also that I still don't believe there is anything wrong with Paramount, at its core. It has become quite commonplace to speak of Paramount's "lack of scale" as the reason for its apparent impending demise, or at least subsumption. But I would still argue that that isn't born out by the numbers. Paramount spent roughly $16 billion on content in 2023, the same total as 2022, when $4 billion of it was spent on streaming. That is only slightly less than Netflix, Inc. (NFLX) which leads the industry in market cap and performance, if not in spending. While the gap with other studio peers is larger, I'm not sure spending at Netflix levels equals a "lack of scale."
What's more, a lot of that extra spending by other traditional industry players like Warner Bros. Discovery, Inc. (WBD) and The Walt Disney Company (DIS) is not spending that investors should necessarily cheer. As I've explained before, Paramount's lower spending total is almost entirely accounted for by its far more profitable approach to sports rights; a lot of that extra spending that Disney and Warner are doing isn't particularly profitable or even sensible.
What then, does account for Paramount's underperformance?
Stock Performance That depends on which underperformance you're talking about. First, the stock price. Paramount cut its dividend in spring 2023. That announcement, with its Q1 earnings, was enough to cause half of the past-year decline in a single day. Paramount went from $21 to $16 with the dividend cut and was still at $16 as late as December.
Since then, the other half of the decline has reflected the increasing evidence that Paramount is more or less ready to throw in the towel, and intends to be a distressed seller to another studio or private equity firm soon. More specifically, it is actually Shari Redstone, who exercises control over Paramount through her 77.3% share of Paramount's Class A voting stock, who is ready to call it quits. The perception that she has no leverage and will be forced to accept a fire sale offer has driven the stock lower.
Operations All that, however, merely explains the stock market decline; what is the operational explanation for Paramount's troubles? The company reported a $600 million loss for full year 2023. How is it that one of the Big Five movie studios, with the most popular of the Big Four broadcast networks, the most popular show on cable (Yellowstone) and the only profitable sports slate in American television, can't make money?
Accounting Element First, we need to acknowledge that there are some accounting factors in that 2023 loss. Paramount took a "programming charge," i.e., a write-down of the value of programming assets, of roughly $2.4 billion in Q1 and Q2 last year. That is money that would ordinarily be amortized over a period of years - it's mostly streaming originals, which Paramount usually amortizes over a 4-year period - that instead saw its red ink taken all at once. Had it been amortized normally, Paramount would have reported an operating profit of roughly $1.2 billion, more or less identical to 2022, instead of reporting an operating loss of the same amount.
Still, that write-down reflects the fact that the content isn't performing well, so those losses were always going to happen, and they're quite real; the accounting change is simply a timing issue. So Paramount is operationally deficient, even if perhaps not quite as operationally deficient as this one-time write-down makes it look. We cannot dismiss Paramount's operational issues by putting them down to accounting distortions.
TV Scripted Content Difficulties Paramount did not break down the programming charge, but outside reports have about half of it owing to the integration of Showtime in Paramount+ as a single service. It's not entirely clear which side of the ledger those losses are coming from; one of the less understood things about merging services is that it potentially makes content on both sides less valuable as it is replaced by more popular content from the other side. Showtime's Q1 2023 viewership was very top-heavy, with just two shows, Yellowjackets and Your Honor constituting 30% of all viewership. Presumably, those two shows reduced the value of some Paramount+ existing content while the rest of Showtime's library may have suffered from competition with P+ content.
Regardless of the exact source, Paramount's content is not performing. That's a little surprising considering that, as I said, CBS content is actually quite popular on the linear side. In fact, in the earnings call following the annual report now-former CEO Bob Bakish reported that CBS had the top 16 scripted programs and 18 of the top 20 in the first week of post-strike broadcasts. Paramount has disclosed in the past that CBS content makes up roughly half of the viewership on Paramount+; and this is despite the fact that P+ isn't even the sole beneficiary of CBS content; roughly $600 million per quarter of Paramount's licensing revenue comes from CBS shows as well.
One possibility that I perhaps did not consider sufficiently was the chance that the unique characteristics of CBS would make it harder for that channel to transition to streaming than its other broadcast peers. CBS is the most popular of all broadcast networks, but that popularity owes disproportionately to more elderly viewers; in the demo, it is actually Comcast Corporation's (CMCSA) NBC which takes the top crown.
With elderly viewers both less appealing to advertisers and less likely to make the transition to streaming, it is perhaps not so surprising that CBS is continuing to perform well on linear but having trouble translating that to streaming.
International Shortfall The damage isn't through yet, either. Paramount disclosed that it took another $1.2 billion impairment charge on content in the first quarter. This one has to do with the international side; a few years ago Paramount commissioned 150 new, original international shows and movies to try to boost international growth. Now, Paramount reveals that even international consumers spend no less than 90% of their time streaming Hollywood content; the local originals aren't doing very much for growth or retention.
About the only good thing that can be said about this complete and utter debacle is that it is a one-off; unlike Paramount's US content spending, which is ongoing and therefore must be made more efficient if Paramount is to survive and thrive, Paramount is gradually exiting International production. In fact, to help cover the losses on its international originals it is selling its share in Viacom18, the network that formerly served as Paramount's onshore operation in India, to its partner Reliance for a little over $500 million.
Where Are The Children? Yet another factor is children's programming. While many have essentially written off Paramount's entire cable channel group, and I agree the prognosis for MTV and Comedy Central is rather grim, I have argued that Nickelodeon remains a real asset, as one of the top two children's channels in linear TV. I believed that would be a powerful subscriber acquisition tool, alongside sports, as the streaming transition continued.
It hasn't worked out. Surveys consistently show the Big 3 for parents with children are Netflix, Disney, and the third is Amazon.com, Inc. (AMZN) of all things. Neither Paramount+ nor Warner Discovery's Max make the cut, despite ownership of top children's linear platforms/libraries Nickelodeon and Looney Tunes, respectively.
The prognosis here isn't entirely grim. Paramount has reported that half of their streaming subscribers touch kids' content regularly, so clearly Nickelodeon does mean something to the subscribers. It's possible it helps with retention, even if it doesn't drive acquisition. Paramount owns the number one brand for pre-school kids, Paw Patrol.
Paramount has shut down the separate Noggin streaming service and will presumably be amplifying the kids content on P+ as a result, so perhaps this trend will yet turn around. With so many other things going wrong, though, the inability to make kids content more central to the strategy is a painful blow.
The Mismanagement Of Streaming I suspect, however, that Paramount's single biggest defect over the past few years has been the competency of its management. In a streaming world, success hinges overwhelmingly on the efficiency with which a content budget is deployed. That efficiency, in turn, requires avoiding the trap of "overload," something cable doesn't have to worry about but which can kill a streaming service.
What Is Overload? In brief, overload is when a streaming service spends money on content that appeals primarily to those subscribers who were already subscribed and intending to remain subscribed, even without that content. Because revenue does not increase with more viewership, such spending is essentially wasted money. I have been arguing for several years that some economic models of streaming profitability fail to take account of this significant element.
Paramount seems to have had a lot of overload in the last few years. Specifically, its single most broadly appealing piece of content is the NFL, which Paramount is an anchor broadcaster for. Because NFL fans are accustomed to spending upwards of $100 a month on cable just to watch the NFL - over 10% of cable subscribers say that the NFL is the only reason they're still subscribing - Paramount's $6-$12 a month fee for streaming really doesn't need anything more than NFL games to attract these 40-50 million fans.
The Earnings Jaw-Dropper And yet, it seems that's where a lot of the extra streaming money has been going. On the Q2 earnings call last year, CEO Bob Bakish, watching the stock price steadily decline, seemed to be eager to reassure he had a handle on the situation and began describing some of the changes he'd be making. It started out well enough, really; he told investors that NFL viewers churn drops dramatically if they also engage with entertainment titles, which is what you'd expect.
But then, he stunned me and I expect just about everyone listening when he said, "we probably need to do less for [the NFL viewer] in the fall, and more outside the fall because we can rely on the NFL." Compounding the almost Looking Glass-feeling, he then went on to reassure everyone he would be "fine-tuning" the content strategy to address that point in the years to come.
It was, frankly, stunning. Both me and I suspect just about every analyst who was modeling Paramount had just assumed it went without saying that of course, any entertainment content targeted at retaining NFL viewers should drop in the other half of the year when the NFL wasn't playing on TV. My own calculations of the profit margin on CBS's NFL deal had always incorporated that.
And while that was bad enough, it also raised the concern that a management team that didn't understand that going in might have put a lot of other overload in other categories as well. Suddenly, it wasn't so hard to see how the best-scripted shop with the most profitable sports contracts was having trouble making money. Double-loading for 50 million households would be a major drag on the financial performance for streaming.
Light At The End Of The Tunnel Despite all of this, I still think there are bright spots in the Paramount picture, even without a merger. Its operations, as well as its merger discussions, don't seem to lack potential.

1: My Usual Paramount Bull Argument: Sports Profits

One thing that continues to go right is sports content. A few years ago, I wrote that Paramount was a strong contender to become a sustainable streaming business because it had the only profitable sports slate in the business. The stock hasn't gone where I wanted it to go, but that is the one part of my thesis that has been definitively borne out. In fact, many now say that it is CBS's sports deals, at least as much as Paramount's film/TV studio, that the prospective buyers of Paramount are after.
I've covered these in other articles already. The March Madness deal runs until 2032 and the NFL deal runs until 2033, although the NFL has an opt out after 2029 that it will probably exercise given the utterly ludicrous bids the NBA is receiving, so the last four years of that deal might have to be chopped off the profit projections. Even so, Paramount can probably generate $1.25 billion a year in profit just off of those two deals for the next six years.
Those are probably the biggest, but it doesn't stop there. Almost every sports deal Paramount has is profitable. For all the flak management has deservedly taken, Paramount continues to show discipline and focus on sports. You won't find Paramount throwing $2.5 billion a year at the NBA's 'B' package, which is more money than the NFL gets for its 'B' package despite having 10x the viewership.
For all its many, many missteps, a Paramount that can just manage to stay afloat long enough for some of these ludicrous sports bets at other companies to blow up may yet find itself with cards to play later in the decade.

2: Recouping Write-downs Via Preferred Conversion

Another small boon has been the official conversion of the preferred shares. The Paramount mandatory convertible formerly trading under the PARAP ticker was capped at 0.85 shares per common share. Given the initial price of the convertible at $100 per share, that effectively means that a preferred share that was carrying a $100 liquidation value has just been converted into 1.1765 shares of a common stock currently trading around $12. A total value per preferred share of around $14.
And they sold for $1 billion, so that's basically $860 million back into the common equity that management was able to get at the peak of the boom. That actually repairs almost all of the red ink from Paramount's doomed international originals push on its own.

3: An End To Streaming Waste

Finally, a lot of the waste in streaming may soon be ending. Bob Bakish was finally fired a few weeks ago, and while I never want someone to lose their job, he frankly had looked overmatched for a while. Bakish was a lifetime cable executive who seemed to be having trouble making the transition to a streaming-world mindset. Frankly, if I knew about it in 2021, the CEO has no business fine-tuning it into the strategy in 2023.
With international originals no longer draining the coffers and overloaded entertainment programming shifted to months of the calendar where it can be more productive, streaming may yet turn the corner.
Investment Summary I recognize fully that each fall in Paramount stock makes my bullish optimism seem ever more out of step. I do believe, however, that Paramount's failures are more failures of execution than lack of scale or structural disadvantage. Paramount CEO Bob Bakish simply wasn't up to the job. Ironically that wasn't what got him fired; Bakish was almost certainly fired for opposing Redstone's plan to enrich herself at the expense of other shareholders, probably the most competent thing he did in the last few years of his whole tenure.
Paramount has everything it needs to be successful; profitable sports contracts, which is just unbelievable in this day and age, a thriving scripted TV operation, and a viable, if recently somewhat mismanaged, streaming service. An end to overload waste, the continued exploitation of its favorable sports slate, throttling back unhelpful international originals and boosting kids content engagement may yet produce a different streaming picture going forward. Should older viewers start to get more comfortable with streaming going forward and following their favorite programs to Paramount+, that would just be icing on the cake.
It's been a depressing ride the last few years, but I'm sticking with Paramount.

I'm also getting into packing light when I travel so the Kore Shorts were appealing due to their versatility.
That said I originally bought the Kore Shorts today with the intent to use them for yoga, gym and hiking. I asked the worker at REI what he thought of the shorts and while he loved them, he steered me away from hiking in them. His concern is that they'd easily snag/get damaged if I I'm out in the woods with them. Due to this I picked up a pair of REI trail hiking shorts as well, but I'm curious if anyone here has had an enjoyable experience hiking in them and could offer some opinions on their durability.
Here are my questions:

• Durability for hiking? I don't intend to take them deep in the woods. More so hiking places like Zion Nat'l Park, Bryce Canyon, etc.
• How well do they control odor? Would they hold up to 2-3 days of hard hiking or will they start to stink on the 2nd day? If I can pack fewer shorts on an upcoming trip that's awesome!

Alright I have a reaallly niche problem right now, idk if this is even the right subreddit to ask, and idk if this will even fix it because I don't know how dacs work lol
Short version: My current dongle dac turns off when audio goes quiet for what I'm guessing is to save power, but when that happens it causes a popping noise in my iems. I want to prevent the usb port from turning off to hopefully keep the dac from turning off which will stop the popping noise (Theoretically).
I have samsung s21
Long version: Bought truthear hexas, I love them but I found you need to have a decent dongle dac to prevent static. I have tried 4 different (cheap) dongle dacs now, the only one that works perfectly is the apple dongle. Classic. However, I am having a really hard time finding a good dongle doc WITH a pd port to charge my phone at the same time. The only dac with a pd port that works well is from UGREEN, but it has the problem of turning off when there is no audio, which causes a popping noise because my hexas pick up that signal. Its unfortunate because it sounds so good when music is playing, its only something that happens when audio falls quiet.
So, because I can't find a good dongle dac with a pd port, and am really tired testing out different dongles, I am just trying to find a way to keep the dongle dac that somewhat works from turning off in the first place through usb settings. Though, I have a strong feeling it is the dac that turns itself off but it is worth a try. I have tried disabling usb routing, but it didn't work. I also heard if the iems have a mic it keeps the dac from turning off, however, my hexas do not have a mic.
In that light, does anyone know any apps or phone settings that keeps the usb port on no matter what? Or perhaps you know how to fix the popping a different way, or you know of a good dongle dac the sports both a dac and a pd port?

Hello, dear friends,I am currently 24 years old, female and I came here to tell you about a bizarre situation that happened to me on my 6th birthday. I was turning 6 years old, I was very excited because my mother said she would take me to the circus that was in town for just a few days and my luck was that my birthday was the day before the circus left our town, so when it was time for us to go, I got ready with a beautiful yellow dress with daisies drawn on it and went with my mother to this new "adventure" as I said. When we arrived everything seemed perfectly normal, lots of balloons, bright colors, sales of cotton candy and other snacks, everything was perfect, so we went inside the circus in the middle of the stage A clown started making several jokes and pranks until his show ended and my favorite part had arrived: going to the countless attractions available. I entered the house of mirrors, several trampolines and so on, then in the maze, for the first time without my mother, I ran everywhere there were several children with me until I separated from them when I saw a small red light on a wall and I went towards it, it was a "trail" I think I can say it in such a way, I followed the supposed trail to a door that I thought was the exit, so I went in, there were LED lights there apparently of bright red and blue colors, but even with such lights the place was still very dark, even so with curiosity, I continued walking along the corridor of lights that led to a tall figure with red skin that whispered something, I innocently asked: - Hey! Who are you? What is happening? Where am I?- The "creature" raised its head to turn to me and He bent down to face me and gave a shrill scream, I got scared, I ran to the exit, I went back to the maze and in my rush I managed to get out of there quickly, When leaving the maze, I cried on my mother's lap in total despair, if you can't understand why I was so desperate, I'll explain it more clearly, in the scream that the "creature" gave me, I could feel death itself running after me or something, it's not like I can really explain it now, but that was the situation, If you found the situation stupid, idiotic or something similar, I'm sorry, but that was the situation, I wouldn't change anything to make it more interesting, because I don't want it to be interesting, I just want share my story, if you got here, thank you for reading this far, and bye bye

M21 I'm doubting if it was strict parenting or if it was the drink but I want opinions. She has done a lot but I don't feel entirely satisfied either. But in the days I have drafted this, my doubts only grow.
As a kid my mom hawked over me and now things I wish I could have experienced did not exist, like going to a park or playground with a friend without supervision, whereas she did. Going to the gas station for snack I couldn't, when she asked her parents and was given a quarter when everything was a cent. Riding a bike was limited to the street we live on, and when I was able to leave, I couldn't leave the neighborhood when she walked for a while to make sure her friend got home. Once sitting on my bike at the edge of the sidewalk and she walked over, cursed me out for going on a different street and wouldn't believe me. I couldn't go to a friends house because I was going to do my homework how my teacher taught me instead of hers, which I didnt know and was not taught. At a friends house, she berated me for making her wait in the car for a few minutes longer than the arranged pickup time. By comparison to what it would have been like, it is a magical opportunity lost.
For most of my school years, all I did was go to school, do homework and play games. Despite catching on to lessons quickly, classes were something to pass, nothing more, not even for life skills. Have a B? Make it an A. I did. Is the project due? Make it better. Alright. Taking orchestra and painting was fleeting then and while I enjoyed it, it was only done for practice or assignment. Now I am upset that it was all I did instead of going out and experiencing life: going out with friends, finding a club or sport to do, or just big activity sessions. Never had a curfew because I never left home to start. I may have had fun gaming then, but I lament heavy over that now to where I will not touch one. A future education and the future as a whole I should have taken a lot more seriously than I could possibly have imagined. School did push for it, but I was a fool and did not care.
Other than the occasional family visit, I did nothing and learned nothing. Never taught to cook much, properly clean, shop for necessities, make right finances, etc. Future prospects was left to whatever I would choose, which I would put it later down the road. Never got any real world experience and just been sheltered for so long, both by my doing and my moms. No drive to do anything, nothing of a hopeful future, no being pulled out of whatever I was doing to learn anything or having skills necessary in the world today be incentivized. Aside from making sure I did well in school, I was left to myself.
She always has something to complain about. Streaks of mean and grumpy. Remembered somethings of what we were interested in but other times just an empty face. Who my mom is today is doom and gloom, speaking two different points that are showing the worst of her and nitpicking over every possible detail. Most of who she enjoys in media has an underlying toxic presence to them with name calling. Polarize, prejudice, politicize, judge and bias everything. Norway and Iceland? Too cold and mountainous, how could anyone have settled there? Germany? They all speak the same language and cannot understand anyone in a city that is 30 minutes away. That guy's accent she can't stand and defaulted to being generated, even though he sounds the same speaking Finnish. All for a better planet yet everything is wasted, trashed, or sent to China. Treat others how you want to be and from where I stand, seem like a backtalking coward. Couldn't have a water pitcher because "no one refilled it" to keep the filter going when I made sure to keep it plentiful. If she has a problem she will bring up the one exact same example related to the topic that I have heard plenty before. And most of the negative aspects of society happen more likely than they should. All while bring home a 24, 30 or however many count of budweiser a week at least. I imagine we only got along because I wasn't a brat anymore and did not try to upset her. Falling in line if you will.
Emotions bottled or maybe emotionally dead. The masculinity trap of what is the general expectation of "men". To express myself, to show emotion, to even cry is something I don't want to do out of fear of being seen, which is ironic given the code of the samurai. 6th grade she didn't remember to pick me up even though I said and called and a friend and his friend caught me being emotional and stayed around a bit to comfort me.
The fear that was put into everything. An actual quote went something as "If you get hurt, I'm not going to drive you to the hospital". Another "All girls are evil". And "that sounds too confrontational" when I asked neighbors to clean after their dog. Even questioning if my eyes doing something required a doctor for her to say that my eyes will fail naturally and something about her relative who had an eye problem and didn't see a doctor. Things that made me not do the kinds of things I want to do now. I have been so sheltered then and now that I want to go out but there is the ever scared part of me towards the unknown world. I feel I have been prejudiced into thinking such ways but there's no personal experience to back or challenge said thoughts.
Admittably, parts of me are glad I know what I have and want for morals and mindset, but its also a matter of temptation and theres still so much that I wish to explore. At times I feel I matured too quickly at the cost of a kids stupidity or innocence and now am too serious and heavyhearted for my own good. To be told how I've matured when there wasn't much to mature from. A part of me feels that I have taken after her cold, judgemental, selfish attitude and that makes me fearful to screw up any kind of friendship or relationship, and dreading that I could reflect that onto any child I may have no matter how far away into the future I do have one. I kind of want to hate her but I am so emotionally gone or warped that I can't. If I "rebel" now, or begin to, I feel that might get the fire started.
She would argue with my dad from time to time but then that continued on for days and it was a cold environment lasting days to weeks after a fight. Even prior to their fights, they rarely slept together in the same bed, let alone the same room. She would critique his employer and even his choice of friends. Once he woke up late, thus having us late to get ready for school and she began one for that. I don't remember the exact details but she once criticized him over a coat he got me. All while listening from the top of the stairs to even the bottom where I was covered by a wall. A few times we listened and we made noise that I think made them aware of us but that didn't stop them. Even starting in our presence where we would leave the room. It got to the point where he actually packed lightly to leave for the night or days and my brother and I stopped him just so he could be home. I wish I did let him go then.
I really do believe I could have had it differently if my dad was alive. He made such an effort. When I was in hospital at 4, he made the efforts to get me out and moving around. When I didn't know a swim style, he literally chucked me towards the deeper waters (I was scared, but he was right in the end, one of the fondest memories). He taught me how to use the mower and had a mini shop set up in the garage. I played with him so much and he got me into the complex games he enjoyed as I got older. For as rough we were, he was so gentle. I looked up to him then and even more than ever now. He made the effort to be one worthy of "Dad" and he was damn well worthy of that and no one could be more better for me.

I did graduate HS 3 years ago, did a summer program and since nothing. No job, education chances, or life plans. Even though I felt smarter, I was turned off of college simply for cost reasons and "feeding the rich" mindset. Last summer I began to look at my past and future with a whole new look with no physical change taking effect. First week into March this year I realized what I have been doing compared to how others are living through good and bad and I fell into depression hard. Now it persists with great off and on. Where I have been up at 9 in the morning to suddenly be up at 5 or 6 in the afternoon. Throughout the past 3 years, there was no making sure I was ok, no seeing how I felt, no finding out what I wanted to do. And I am still frightened of what may be out there, even when that is the key to the living that I want. I want to go, I need to go. But where? I leave for the good and better of myself, but I also leave behind this place I've called home, yet it's now so far from the one I want to remember with a fond memory. So much happens that seems to have been "normal" when it doesn't seem like it should. The same place with the same inhabitants in the same motions. No going out, no difference, no change, and VERY artificial. Nothing means anything anymore. To let how I feel about the previous years subside in me or blow over...
Always have been insecure, hesitant, second guessing. While others had spent their 18s, 19s and 20s going into the world doing many things, I've had the summer program at 18, nothing at 19, and two days in the big city to attend a concert at 20. Little noteworthy moments under my belt. It seems like love in the immediate family was not two ways or had to be earned. I have not grown. Who I am is not who I want to be at heart.
For 21, I know I should have more skills and be in better places, but theres nothing from anyone. No check-in, no advice, no motivation. Like "the birdling will leave the nest" instead of anyone preparing a boy to what is before him. Its not a snap of fingers or blink of an eye do I learn what is expected. On the grown up part, I feel heavily underprepared for the world and life. Far too long have I stayed and lived in my head. I cannot understand why I am still at home, a part of myself thinks to keep the peace but what peace needs to be kept? Nothing and no one is stopping me from leaving except myself and the thought that they will most definitely want to know where I am if I go, which I do not want to tell anyone. Or that I've been sheltered and not have realised the gates have been unlocked long ago. Things are not ok and I want to stop pretending when I leave. Even with Spring's green grass under a blue sky that ends the day with the orange sunset piercing the clouds to make them blue and pink do I feel grey.

I feel the kid within me, wanting to do those exciting things, yearning for any kind of companion or fellowship. What daylight reveries I can conjure to make him feel hopeful enough so he can shine soon. The things I want to do to feel happy. I want to water that little guy.
A lot of this I have remembered recently and still am connecting the dots. I already am upset at myself for not doing anything in life, but I want to be angry and I honestly hate myself for not seeing this sooner and listening to her for so long. Despite feeling broken and defunct, I still feel young enough but there's been so little done that it feels many chances are long gone. There is more freedoms I have that I do not know about and ones that I have had before that gathered dust. And now I am in a toss up between beginning college preparation now, leaving states or the country to act on these now childhood regrets. I don't want to be who I am now any longer. I just want to do something. And in between it all, confusion of what to do, how to feel and saddened that I am not who I once was or could have been.

I'm....somewhere in Lords of the fallen 2023. I just finished lighting the first beacon and I don't know man. I'm getting bored and frustrated. Never felt that way once with Lies of P and I'm SUPER excited for the dlc hopefully coming this year. I got Lords on sale for...forty or fifty I think it was, yet I didn't hesitate to buy Elden Ring and pre-order the dlc as a bundle for eighty about a month ago. I just think it's time to play a game I actually want to play instead of a game I'm forcing myself to play...maybe I'll come back one day but honestly the fucking swamp area in Lords of the fallen is so bad I kinda don't want to, and I already completed that area. I only got up to two hours with Elden Ring when I first bought it because I was super burnt out with open world games after just finishing 61 hours of Ghost of Tsushima with dlc and 30 hours of Spider-Man 2 but now that's it's been some time I feel...ready. I don't know, is there anyone else who is just now jumping into Elden Ring for the first time as well or am I extremely late to the party lol.

Bear in mind, it's just a theory and try to vislualize this like you were in the rioter's or my (true fan) shoes:
It's the final game of the trophy finals! And to just lose that trophy to the opposing team - especially after coming this far into the sports trophy championships is just too much for the fans to bear! Only compounded by other contributing factors: the alcohol coursing through the people's bodies and impeding their ability to process their actions properly in addition to that year marking either a certain amount of time passed since they first made it this far and/or it's their special anniversary year.
So... what better way to vent out one's frustration and rage... than to destroy stuff? And by stuff, I mean anything - and I mean literally anything within one's view and reach? Including overhead power lines, traffic lights on suspension poles, overhead flag poles on highrise buildings, etc., etc. Not only that, those enraged people feel the need to find someone to engage in fights with to relieve the rage from within them after what they just bore witness to.
So, why not try this strategy to keep everyone's moods in check: First, clear the streets of everything and anything that can be broken, thrown, or used as a weapon. Next, vendors should only serve beverages in plastic containers, so there's no broken glass or bottles to step on. Third, use undercover officers so you blend in with the crowd and arrest unruly "fans" with the element of surprise. And you certainly don't want to pose as the opposing team's fans. Without someone to attack, you'll have no reason to start a fight.

Comes with a purple anodized pivot that I didn’t care for. Also comes with alternate polyurethane washers. Knife is in perfect shape and comes with pouch and sticker. Never sharpened, carried once. 1. Benchmade mini cricket crooked river. Bench made custom shop with carbon fiber, scales, copper pivot, S 90 V. like a lot of bench maids, this one was not centered. In the process of disassembling to correct this, which I’ve done many times with benchmades I stripped a t6 screw near the blade. All other screws were them near the blade. All other screws were them replaced with titanium screws were then replaced with titanium screws. However, blade is now perfectly centered, action is very good. Never sharpened. Carried once.

No scratches or dings. I miss placed the box, but comes with the blue pouch.

1. Pena X Mula with sheepsfoot m390 and micarta inlay. Production model manufactured by Reate. Extremely smooth action and drop shut. Never disassembled. Touched up on ceramic. Thoughts on whether spending an extra $1k is worth it for the C4?
I mostly watch movies and live sports. I don't game at all. The room the tv will live in can be fairly bright in the day and evening (as the sun sets). I live in the south and get a lot of sun. Even with the blinds drawn, there is still a lot of light.
I'm leaning toward spending less on the c3, but if the c4 is really brighter and easier to see in light-soaked rooms, I'm willing to fork out the extra cash. Is the difference that noticeable?

I have had severe kp for a long time. I don't remember exactly when I developed it but it is so annoying and has made me very insecure to the point were it is effecting the way I live my life. I never wear shorts and I avoided sports in school that would force me to show my legs. I'm African American and my skin is pretty light so the spots are very noticeable. I have it on my legs and arms, but the ones on my arms don't really bother me that much because they are very faint. The ones on my legs however are the death of me. I have spent hundreds of dollars on skincare to get rid of the spots and nothing has worked. Amalactin, Gold Bond Rough and Bumpy, Touch, Paula's Choice etc. all of them help smooth out the bumps but not the spots. My skin is to the point were it is completely smooth but the spots have not changed which was the part that actually bothered me from the beginning. Anyway, I know what I am about to say is dumb, but just hear me out. After a long period of time accepting my fate and not doing anything to treat my kp, in March I bought 80% lactic acid, 30% salicylic acid, and 70% glycolic acid to see if it would get rid of the spots since I read that those ingredients are good for treating KP. As soon as they arrived in the mail, I started putting this on my skin at least 4 times a week to see if it would clear my skin for the summer. Well... it's been over 2 months putting this on my skin straight out the shower and I have noticed almost no change in the spots. I got a few chemical burns at the beginning but I continued to use it because I thought that was the price I had to pay for perfect skin and the chemical burns would be more easily treatable once the spots faded anyway. Fast forward to today and I still continue to use it on my skin because I feel like this is my last hope, but also if I can't see much change after 2 months then it's like will it ever go away? *Also before y'all say anything yes I have thought about going to a dermatologist. The closest ones live 3.5 hrs away but I don't have the money to go there rn
