So, I really enjoyed the stretches of this game where I could push the story forward, but after getting hard stuck for about five or six hours, I noticed that I quit on the game. Haven't played it for a few weeks now.
It's a good game, and people rave about the ending, so I'd like to un-giveup. Does anyone have any non-spoiler suggestions? From browsing this sub a bit before, I know that confused people are asked to upload their ship log, so here is mine.
It's so small I don't know how you can decipher it, lol. Anyway, the only "missed something" notifications I have are in Sunless City / High Energy lab, and I'm at my wits end for what to do there. Already explored Eye Shrine, found the lab, solved the angler fossil puzzle, etc. In the lab, there's the tablets, already did the black hole / white hole thing with the scout...
As I guess you can see, I'm stuck with these mysteries:
-Black Hole forge (I don't even see a way in, but also haven't made it to top floor of Hanging City).. have bounced off the side a bunch
-The lab in the core of Giant's Deep (partially spoiled, I know the jellyfish are somehow related but I haven't found the connecting clues yet so waiting)
-Dark Bramble (have found the obstructive teleports at the signal ground zeros but nothing else except lots and lots and lots of dying)
Any help appreciated!!!

- Comet (spoiled in that I know something is there)
- Sun station

Me and my husband moved from a city of over 1 million people to 35k earlier this year. I've been in Property Management for the last 10 years but unfortunately there isn't much (if anything) available in my industry here. So, I took an HR office Admin job to pay the bills.
My last job back where we came from, I was the most successful (financially) and happiest in my entire career. I'm still crushed I gave it up for my husband's job to relocate us. That place gave me my best friends, and just living in the city, we could do anything! Concerts, football/baseball/hockey games. Kayaking to waterfalls, festivals, dog parties, alllll the shopping etc.
Here? None of that. And over 2,000 miles away from any of my family and friends.
Anyway, the job I took here has me banging my desk on my desk in boredom. I've got social media scheduled until mid July, reorganized the break room and conference room. And when I ask for other work, it takes me 15 mins to complete whatever they ask of me. They're impressed with me and I'm repeatedly told how happy they are that I'm there, I'm doing such a great job etc. But I THRIVE under pressure, fast paced, meeting people, building relationships and all of that. In this position, I'm hoping someone calls just so I have someone to talk to!
But I'm bored out of my ever loving mind. I have work to maybe keep me busy for 3-4 hours a day. I've tried listening to audio books, creating spreadsheets and templates, reorganizing files. Anything to keep me busy.
I've only been here a month and I'm considering leaving. I only get paid once a month and haven't had a full paycheck yet. This is a big stressor for me.
I've found a few other jobs recently, one on my area of expertise and one where I'm essentially a tour guide for the city. But they pay anywhere from $2-$5 less per hour, and I'm not sure on the pay frequency.
Should I stick it out and be bored and miserable, or look for something in my wheelhouse for a little less pay?

Lin was arrested at John F. Kennedy Airport on May 18, and will be presented in Manhattan federal court before U.S. Magistrate Judge Willis later today. “Drug traffickers who think they can operate outside the law on the dark web are wrong,” said Attorney General Merrick B. In exchange for listing and selling narcotics as a vendor on Incognito Market, each vendor paid 5% of the purchase price of every narcotic sold to Incognito Market. That revenue funded Incognito Market’s operations, including paying “employee” salaries and for computer servers. Lin collected millions of dollars of profits from Incognito. To facilitate these financial transactions, Incognito Market had its own “bank,” which allowed its users to deposit cryptocurrency on the site into their own “bank accounts.” After a narcotics transaction was completed, cryptocurrency from the buyer’s “bank account” was transferred to the seller’s “bank account,” less the 5% fee that Incognito collected. The bank enabled buyers and sellers to stay anonymous from each other. Struggling. I learned I suffered a missed miscarriage a few weeks ago. I’m 40, single, had an unmedicated IUI in March; got pregnant on first try. I was 7w4d at a 7-week ultrasound; it’s likely the fetuses (there were two) stopped growing in week 5 sometime. Took 4 misoprostol pills vaginally (so just one dose); doctor, whom I trust and have been with for a while, recommended it over D&C. Bleeding continued over a week on and off; never excessively heavy. Ultrasound a couple weeks ago showed I had passed most of the pregnancy tissue; hCG was 1470. About a week later, hCG was down to 626. Then yesterday it was apparently 650. Provider has low suspicion of ectopic pregnancy. Had me take another round of 4 miso tablets last night, which triggered spotting. Inserted a second round this AM; no bleeding as of yet. I’m supposed to get blood work Friday and if it doesn’t show a drop in my hCG, I think they’ll infer it must be an ectopic pregnancy. That would likely mean treatment via methotrexate, which I understand requires at least a 3-month wait to conceive once treatment ends. I’m here just to say I’m scared that this is an ectopic pregnancy. It feels like time is slipping away. I have 20 frozen eggs; but I’m just so sad about this potential big setback. Would welcome any feedback or words of encouragement. I’ve been on this sub the last couple weeks and it helps to know I’m not alone ❤️

The Erumenta woman tries to fight even as he forces her into the cell, her natural fire flaring hot enough for his clothing to smoulder and him to mentally congratulate himself for his Undaunted Brand. It’s literally saved his fingers multiple times today.
Marlintine Spire is like many of the spires of Centris still reeling from the massive scan. Sure it had been legal, and both Living Goddesses upon the world had told everyone to calm down in their own way. But just because something is legal and endorsed by powerful figures does not make it a popular move.
“You burn any of your fellow prisoners while you’re in there and you’re getting a suppression collar.” He tells the obstinate criminal as he shoves her into the holding cell and slams the bars shut. The forcefields supplementing the metal bars flickers into place and the blast of flame she aimed at his face splashes against it without further effect. “Cute, keep it up and we won’t need a court hearing to upgrade you to a real prison.”
“He’s being serious. Stripper boy is playing at being a serious police officer.” Another criminal mocks and is subsequently ignored as Chenk leaves the area. He has other things to do.
“Ma’am.” He greets Chief Bowman as he slips by to head back out.
“Hold it human. I know your kind are endurance monsters, but you need to sit the hell down. You’ve been dragging in cult soldiers for six and a half hours straight. Your legal overtime ended a half hour ago.”
“Then keep a cell open for me as I keep bringing in more people. This needs to be quelled.” Chenk says and as he turns to keep going she grabs his belt and pulls him back.
“You need to rest.”
“The Spire is in the middle of a borderline insurrection. I can rest when it’s...” He begins to say before a sudden movement to his right makes his head snap around. Just before Vera the Takra-Takra crashes into him.
“Thanks for stalling him out Chief! Come on you goofy human!” Vera announces as she drags him down the hallway and into Linda’s Office. She tosses him onto the couch and then pounces onto him and pins him.
“Really?” Chenk asks.
“Yes really. You need to calm down. And I found a way to force it.” Linda states.
“But the Spire is...”
“You are one officer. Supersoldier on loan to the station or not, you’re still only one officer. The structural integrity of this spire only depends upon you when there’s a bomb threat and even then, only when it’s a chemical bomb.” Linda tells him. “Or do we have to restrict you to only being called out during a bomb threat?”
“No.” He says. “But people are still getting hurt and...”
“And they're the ones hurting themselves. Just please calm down. I know you’re skilled, but your sense of justice is just going to hurt you at this rate. Don’t want to leave a bad example for Amy now do you?” Linda teases him and Chenk groans in frustration.
“... I really should have thought things through before growing attached to that girl.”
“Oh probably, but it was adorable to see. The world crashing down on a poor little girl in over her head and then Officer Hero, Supersoldier from the blackest void of the galaxy flies in to save her.” Vera teases.
“Still, him being a supersoildier is a bit of a problem right now. Big man needs a mission, or he’s going to go nuts!” Linda notes. “Luckily! I called one of your friends on the ship. Soldier, you’re in position to requre a talking to from The Observer. However, the call is on hold, but you need to be here when it goes off.”
“That’s a dirty trick.” Chenk notes even as an Undaunted communicator is tossed at him and he catches it. It’s activated, it’s in a waiting queue and there’s no way he can go into the field now if he’s waiting for an official answer. “Very dirty.”
“Good thinking!” Vera compliments as she cuddles closer to her pinned target. Her hair spikes out in sudden shock as The Communicator then goes off to signify the call has gone through. “I jinxed it!”
“Specialist Chenk Barnabas sir!” Chenk answers the call instantly as he sits up and Vera scurries off him.
“Really? I put him on that waiting list to get him to calm down and stop working.”
“Specialist Barnabas, I’m one of numerous individuals filtering the sheer number of incoming calls to The Inevitable. You’re in the proper queue now, please state what you have been doing as a member of The Undaunted so that Observer Wu can better decide who to speak with.”
“I’m on loan to one of Marlintine Spire’s major police stations. Due to the overpopulation of Centris this means I have been acting as elite law enforcement over a population that exceeds that of many of earth’s countries.”
“I see, anything in particular that you’re doing?”
“I’m a chemical expert and accredited detective at this rate. I am the go to specialist for law enforcement when it comes to chemical explosives for a full ten percent of Centris Police Departments.”
“Any particularly interesting cases you’ve been assigned to?”
“Yes, one that is still being debated in court by none other than The Trytite Lady. It involves cloning, murder, mercenaries, numerous criminal gangs and a great deal of more nonsense such as massive prison breaks, fighting robots and Axiom effects so dangerous that even speaking about them in anything more than the most broad and general of terms on an open frequency is a punishable offence.”
“So you have seen a fair amount of what has occurred in the galaxy.”
“I’ve seen enough that I’m going to be very hard to surprise or overwhelm any longer.” Chenk says.
“Very good. I’ll just note this down. The Galaxy is absolutely insane, I’ve been fielding calls from people with like nine heads all speaking in concert and god damn lobster people and more...”
“That’s reality for you.” Chenk replies. “Always more absurd than it should be.”
“Indeed, stand by. I’m putting you into the next proper queue. It shouldn’t be more than a minute or two long.” The Assistant states and then the call shifts to simply display that he’s fourth in the queue now.
“Hunh. Faster and somehow slower than expected at the same time.” Chenk says even as Vera leans against him.
“Even when you take a break you’re still working.”
“You didn’t complain about me being an endurance monster when I planted this in you.” He says gently patting her growing stomach and she pushes him a bit in protest.
“Problem with getting the super-babies of doom is the wait for the baby.” Vera complains and he chuckles before the communicator activates again. He puts it in broadcast mode as Linda leaves her desk to sit next to him for support.
“Observer Wu I take it?” Chenk asks the Asian man who nods.
“And you are Officer and Operative Barnabas. The little summary in front of your call has my attention. Tell me, how are laws generally handled in the Centris space.”
“Centris is a massively overpopulated planet consisting of Spires and Plates. The Spires are the massive multi tiered towers that have two hundred levels each and each level holds enough people to populate any major city on Earth with ease. The lower the level on the spire the less funding, infrastructure and support it has with the bottom ten generally considered a universal slum or no man’s land. Law enforcement in those areas is nigh on impossible and the air itself has been described as thick and fetid. No natural light reaches those areas either.”
“And higher up?”
“Increasing amounts of wealth and support. To such a degree that the plates, which form an artificial ring around Centris are of such high quality that their most squalid and desperate places are at roughly the same standard of living as the middle fifty floors of a well off Spire. As you can imagine, policing all this is an outright herculean effort and every station, no matter how well funded, armed or endorsed is simply inadequate for the task.”
“What sort of crimes have you witnessed?”
“I’ve stopped terrorist conspiracies, torn down drug labs, found myself between assassins and their targets, I’ve stood in the middle of gang wars commanding people to stand down, I have tackled muggers, murderers and maniacs alike into walls and cuffed them. Not even twenty minutes ago I dragged a criminal who could light fires with her will alone into a cell, my jacket is still singed from it.”
“So the world is rife with criminality.”
“No more than any other place, there’s just so many people crammed in here that it’s constant, and that’s without the recent provocation that every single criminal organization received more or less simultaneously. Generally for every single idiot that needs a police officer to remind them why good behaviour is a good idea, there’s an entire bus full of people that didn’t even consider breaking the law.” Chenk explains.
“But when they truly commit crimes they don’t stop do they?”
“No, more resources, technology and Axiom means that if someone wants to break the rules they can break the very concept of rules. The last major case I was in before this flashfire of criminality was kicked off involved the sanctity of body and mind being shattered for the sake of mere greed by a figure so underworld infamous that for a chance to get either evidence on the person in question or ingratiate themselves to them we had an all out war break out in the station. One that if not for a quick trick, we would have lost.”
“And the trick was?”

“Well, this one won’t apply to you due to an amendment that Admiral Cistern was able to get allies to help him push through, but one of the most popular religions the galaxy over is the Gravid Faith, it has numerous denominations and variants and several of them create what’s called Arrangement Systems where men are required by law to have a hundred wives.”

“They very much vary by location. Which are further influenced by the species of the residents, local culture, religion, political association, economic status. The name of the game is jurisdiction issues here on Centris. The local police departments all help one another, but always at the invite of the local officers who can actually confirm if what’s taking place is a crime or not in the local area.”
“Can you give an example of this working against things?”
“Alright, the easiest example is with drugs. There is no agreed on way to combat the spread of illegal narcotics. Some make the growing of the plants that produce what you want illegal. Others make the refinement of it’s fruit illegal and some make the selling of the drug illegal. So you can produce it all on the third Spire and sell it on the first two legally. You can grow the plant on the second and third spire legally, refine it on the first and third legally and that way you have a massive multi-jurisdiction drug running operation without technically breaking any law.”
“Hmm... that is a great deal to consider. I presume other such crimes can operate the same way?”
“Unfortunately yes. But that’s the problem with laws, you need to set where the boundaries are, but not make people prisoners in their own homes. There’s always a loophole.”

“It generally varies from person to person. But I would suggest guilting him. Emotional blackmail is a powerful tool.” Observer Wu says with a slight smirk.
“Traitor!” Chenk declares and there’s a chuckle from The Observer.
“Indeed. I’m afraid this call needs to finish now. Best of luck.” Observer Wu says before the call ends.

Cats, Cops and C4
The Erumenta woman tries to fight even as he forces her into the cell, her natural fire flaring hot enough for his clothing to smoulder and him to mentally congratulate himself for his Undaunted Brand. It’s literally saved his fingers multiple times today.
Marlintine Spire is like many of the spires of Centris still reeling from the massive scan. Sure it had been legal, and both Living Goddesses upon the world had told everyone to calm down in their own way. But just because something is legal and endorsed by powerful figures does not make it a popular move.
“You burn any of your fellow prisoners while you’re in there and you’re getting a suppression collar.” He tells the obstinate criminal as he shoves her into the holding cell and slams the bars shut. The forcefields supplementing the metal bars flickers into place and the blast of flame she aimed at his face splashes against it without further effect. “Cute, keep it up and we won’t need a court hearing to upgrade you to a real prison.”
“He’s being serious. Stripper boy is playing at being a serious police officer.” Another criminal mocks and is subsequently ignored as Chenk leaves the area. He has other things to do.
“Ma’am.” He greets Chief Bowman as he slips by to head back out.
“Hold it human. I know your kind are endurance monsters, but you need to sit the hell down. You’ve been dragging in cult soldiers for six and a half hours straight. Your legal overtime ended a half hour ago.”
“Then keep a cell open for me as I keep bringing in more people. This needs to be quelled.” Chenk says and as he turns to keep going she grabs his belt and pulls him back.
“You need to rest.”
“The Spire is in the middle of a borderline insurrection. I can rest when it’s...” He begins to say before a sudden movement to his right makes his head snap around. Just before Vera the Takra-Takra crashes into him.
“Thanks for stalling him out Chief! Come on you goofy human!” Vera announces as she drags him down the hallway and into Linda’s Office. She tosses him onto the couch and then pounces onto him and pins him.
“Really?” Chenk asks.
“Yes really. You need to calm down. And I found a way to force it.” Linda states.
“But the Spire is...”
“You are one officer. Supersoldier on loan to the station or not, you’re still only one officer. The structural integrity of this spire only depends upon you when there’s a bomb threat and even then, only when it’s a chemical bomb.” Linda tells him. “Or do we have to restrict you to only being called out during a bomb threat?”
“No.” He says. “But people are still getting hurt and...”
“And they're the ones hurting themselves. Just please calm down. I know you’re skilled, but your sense of justice is just going to hurt you at this rate. Don’t want to leave a bad example for Amy now do you?” Linda teases him and Chenk groans in frustration.

“Oh probably, but it was adorable to see. The world crashing down on a poor little girl in over her head and then Officer Hero, Supersoldier from the blackest void of the galaxy flies in to save her.” Vera teases.
“Still, him being a supersoildier is a bit of a problem right now. Big man needs a mission, or he’s going to go nuts!” Linda notes. “Luckily! I called one of your friends on the ship. Soldier, you’re in position to requre a talking to from The Observer. However, the call is on hold, but you need to be here when it goes off.”
“That’s a dirty trick.” Chenk notes even as an Undaunted communicator is tossed at him and he catches it. It’s activated, it’s in a waiting queue and there’s no way he can go into the field now if he’s waiting for an official answer. “Very dirty.”
“Good thinking!” Vera compliments as she cuddles closer to her pinned target. Her hair spikes out in sudden shock as The Communicator then goes off to signify the call has gone through. “I jinxed it!”
“Specialist Chenk Barnabas sir!” Chenk answers the call instantly as he sits up and Vera scurries off him.
“Really? I put him on that waiting list to get him to calm down and stop working.”
“Specialist Barnabas, I’m one of numerous individuals filtering the sheer number of incoming calls to The Inevitable. You’re in the proper queue now, please state what you have been doing as a member of The Undaunted so that Observer Wu can better decide who to speak with.”
“I’m on loan to one of Marlintine Spire’s major police stations. Due to the overpopulation of Centris this means I have been acting as elite law enforcement over a population that exceeds that of many of earth’s countries.”
“I see, anything in particular that you’re doing?”
“I’m a chemical expert and accredited detective at this rate. I am the go to specialist for law enforcement when it comes to chemical explosives for a full ten percent of Centris Police Departments.”
“Any particularly interesting cases you’ve been assigned to?”
“Yes, one that is still being debated in court by none other than The Trytite Lady. It involves cloning, murder, mercenaries, numerous criminal gangs and a great deal of more nonsense such as massive prison breaks, fighting robots and Axiom effects so dangerous that even speaking about them in anything more than the most broad and general of terms on an open frequency is a punishable offence.”
“So you have seen a fair amount of what has occurred in the galaxy.”
“I’ve seen enough that I’m going to be very hard to surprise or overwhelm any longer.” Chenk says.
“Very good. I’ll just note this down. The Galaxy is absolutely insane, I’ve been fielding calls from people with like nine heads all speaking in concert and god damn lobster people and more...”

Law enforcement in those areas is nigh on impossible and the air itself has been described as thick and fetid. No natural light reaches those areas either.”

To such a degree that the plates, which form an artificial ring around Centris are of such high quality that their most squalid and desperate places are at roughly the same standard of living as the middle fifty floors of a well off Spire. As you can imagine, policing all this is an outright herculean effort and every station, no matter how well funded, armed or endorsed is simply inadequate for the task.”

He’s thrown an interception in all 7 playoff games and 3 games w multiple interceptions. He plays significantly worse on the big stage when all the lights are on than the regular season. I just upgraded to fiber Internet and think it time to upgrade my network. Quick notes about what I currently have:
I rent a split level which is not that big and I'm trying to get the best speeds I can from the upstairs office to the downstairs livingroom. Because I rent I am not running hard line period, I'm not in college anymore so I'm not dealing with cables running across the floor. I have 1Gb up and down with the option of 10Gb, and have a Nighthawk with WiFi 5. My current coverage is really good, but I am only able to get about 500Mb (650Mb max) wireless vs. 950 Mb (1.3Gb max) wired (the horror!).
Because my WiFi coverage is good throughout the apartment, I don't think a two node mesh is worth it. But, I imagine a couple of wireless routers with my primary access point in the office, and the bridge in the other room connecting my TV, PS5, etc. would work better.
The question I have is what option would work the best for a bridge network? I have a few options in mind, but would like some opinions on what might be best, or an option that I haven't thought of yet (again, No hard line).
First option: get two WiFi 7 routers and do what I've mentioned above. The problem with this is I can't seem to find any proper documentation on bridging. My older Nighthawk has the bridge option in the setup, work has a WiFi 6 Nighthawk and it doesn't offer bridging (as far as I can tell). I'm willing to spend $500'ish on a mesh pair, but only if I can set it up as an AP and a bridge. I'm not willing to spend $800'ish per Asus router that might be able to do what I'm looking for. Are there WiFi 7 routers that offer AP and Bridge capabilities?
Second option: DIY. Build my own computer with two 10Gb ports, install and learn OPNSense, MikroTik four port 10Gb switch, WiFi 7 AP, WiFi 7 bridge, another switch. While I'm against spending more than about $500 for option 1, this is a project and I'm willing to spend more for a fun project. I have seen WiFi 7 AP that are reasonably priced, but does bridging work with two of these? Is there a specific unit that I should get for the bridge side?
Third option: a simplification of 2. Keep the WiFi 5 Nighthawk for routing and maybe as an AP for non entertainment devices (phone, tablet, etc.), add a WiFi 7 AP and Bridge and switch. Again, what are some good devices that offer bridge capabilities in WiFi 7?
Fourth option: (insert History Channel Alien Guy picture) Microwaves. Honestly, this is basically the same as option 3, but with two microwave units. I am a fan of Cambium, but how will two high power, 150 mile range, units work blasting through 30' and a couple of walls? Turn the power way down and hope it's not ionizing?
Fifth option: just say the heck with WiFi 7 and go with WiFi 6e. I doubt that I'll go with 10Gb service, but will 6e get me enough throughput to take full advantage of my 950Mb service?
Some opinions would be nice from the community. Either about my ridiculous options above, or something I haven't thought of. Also, I don't like Ubiquity. I don't care if the community does. I would rather run a hard line, and as I already said that is not an option. Also, I typed this out on my phone and I'm not going to proofread it. I hope my ramblings make sense.

I have seen WiFi 7 AP that are reasonably priced, but does bridging work with two of these? Is there a specific unit that I should get for the bridge side?
Third option: a simplification of 2. Keep the WiFi 5 Nighthawk for routing and maybe as an AP for non entertainment devices (phone, tablet, etc.), add a WiFi 7 AP and Bridge and switch. Again, what are some good devices that offer bridge capabilities in WiFi 7?
Fourth option: (insert History Channel Alien Guy picture) Microwaves. Honestly, this is basically the same as option 3, but with two microwave units. I am a fan of Cambium, but how will two high power, 150 mile range, units work blasting through 30' and a couple of walls? Turn the power way down and hope it's not ionizing?
Fifth option: just say the heck with WiFi 7 and go with WiFi 6e. I doubt that I'll go with 10Gb service, but will 6e get me enough throughput to take full advantage of my 950Mb service?
Some opinions would be nice from the community. Either about my ridiculous options above, or something I haven't thought of. Also, I don't like Ubiquity. I don't care if the community does. Quick context here for the question. We have a six month old girl and I do my best to not have screens in front of her. When I play yt music off my phone / tablet I point it away from her. If the tv is on I try to point her away from it, etc.
I've noticed more often my wife will have the tv on while she's feeding the baby and she (baby) is watching it. Or sometimes she'll play songs on the tablet and let the baby watch them. I give her a lot of pushback about this and initially she was agreeing with me, but now is getting more of a "some of its educational and ok for her to watch", or just it's not a big deal if she sees some.
It's becoming a bigger issue and causing more constant friction with me telling her I'm not ok with it.
My question i guess is, am I being overzealous about this? Is any of it ok for the kid? What's other people's experiences in this kind of situation been?

I’m going out on a limb here, because this post is going to be a strong dose of woo. But I feel I have a duty to warn, and you people seem just weird enough to be able to get it. Read this in the voice of John Oliver if you have to, it might help.
TL;DR: Things are going to get worse before they get better. A mundane and lame, but not altogether surprising, amount of worse. Around 2045-2050, is when things finally turn around. Time to get your shit together, people.
Backstory: Back in the late 70s, a former Special Assistant to the Chief of Naval Operations, Stephan A. Schwartz, got involved in remote viewing. Schwartz started a long-term project that ran from 1978 to 1995 to ask remote viewers to look at one day in June, 2050 to see whether or not the Cold War turned into a nuclear war. He collected data from hundreds of remote viewers over thousands of sessions, over decades of time, and aggregated down the places of only broad consensus. The points where nearly everyone agreed over years and years.
What came out was while we didn’t nuke ourselves, things like the fall of the USSR, the rise of HIV/AIDS, climate change, and terrorism replacing the Cold War seemed like crazy talk at the time, but it's what the remote viewers said. To date, points of wide consensus have held accurate because they’re non-specific. It's not “on Sept 11 this will happen…” it’s “something happened, and now terrorism is why the world is a more dangerous place.”
You can watch here in 2017 where Schwartz talks about a “series of epidemics” occurring. HIV/AIDS was the first one, and last I checked, the opioid crisis, huge increases in non-communicable diseases, and COVID are all massive public health problems on a scale we didn’t used to have - even at the level that in 2017 to consider them. Then he describes Zoom meetings, and how they’re in VR by 2050. So, like I said, things get worse.
/backstory
In the last few years, Schwartz started up a new version of the 2050 project, asking remote viewers to look at the year 2060, and report on wide consensus. A summary of his work is here, with findings on the last page. (This is not investment advice… or is it? ;) I’ve been waiting around on a book with more details for 2 years now, and still nothing, so I have this and interviews as most of what he has out there to go on.
I’m a remote viewer, and I’ve had years of profound, sometimes bonkers experiences that have forced me to stop being so materialist and accept that sometimes remote viewing works. And that the universe is buck wild, but whatever.
Anyone can learn to remote view, just like anyone can learn French if they spend a lot of time every day working on something that seems cool at first, but is ultimately borderline pointless to do without a solid reason. In reality, both have too many rules and are kind of annoying to keep up every day when you’re not using it professionally. But, objectively, learning French is still worse.
….But I’ve also studied and used social science data for work, and looking at broad consensus is how we evaluate things like aggregating survey data. So I put a lot of stock in both the 2050 and 2060 projects simply based on the methodology.
You know what I don’t put a lot of stock in? Astrology.
So I made the mistake of asking astrology about the general themes forecast for the US for 2030-2045, expecting some sort of hilarious contradictions. Like “oh, 2034, Saturn is in Leo - the US elects its first kitty-cat president :3 YAY!””
Nope.
Fam (can I call you fam?) - look, Fam, let me tell you, it did not go well for me.
TL;DR of that post: Nothing contradicts Schwartz. Even the timeline of bad to worse lines up. And I didn't even tell them why I was asking about that time frame before I got a few responses back.
We go from now to bad in the early-mid 2030s, bad to worse in late 2030s/2040, then spicy worse until 2045, then come up for air by the time kindergarten-age kids of today are old enough to rent a car and drive it through Mad Max: Tornado Dustbowl II.
OK, so two woo-woo data points. Who cares, right? Just stupid woo coincidence, right? How many pretend "skeptics" are screaming "confirmation bias!" at me right now? It's not zero.
But....Then we have the unfortunate triangulation of the fact that some of the less pleasant climate change models pointing to a 2.5+ degree world, which is entirely right smack-dab in the realm of possibility right now, agree with the severity of the remote viewing predictions. Expectations of a Blue Ocean event are on track for 2036-2038ish, and the remote viewing data says something happens around 2040 that is a big deal.
The 2050 and 2060 projects both agree that there are migrations: “people flee the coasts, then the Midwest becomes uninhabitable.” But like, more uninhabitable than right now. Constant tornados and floods and drought and general bad times kind of uninhabitable, not like, thinking spaghetti in your chili is still food (I’ll fight you about this, Cincinnati! Come at me!)
Now, if you’ve made it this far, you’re probably just a podcast host desperate for content. Respect.
But for real, if you’ve made it this far, it’s important to acknowledge the fact that this is a warning. This is knowledge, not to create fear, but to inform your sound choices. To be used to guide your life. Data to keep you safe and happy and doing whatever else normal people do these days. Fidget spinners? Are those still a thing? Anyway, point is that if you’re scared, you’re doing it wrong.

TL;DR: Things are going to get worse before they get better. A mundane and lame, but not altogether surprising, amount of worse. Around 2045-2050, is when things finally turn around. Time to get your shit together, people.
Backstory: Back in the late 70s, a former Special Assistant to the Chief of Naval Operations, Stephan A. Schwartz, got involved in remote viewing. Schwartz started a long-term project that ran from 1978 to 1995 to ask remote viewers to look at one day in June, 2050 to see whether or not the Cold War turned into a nuclear war. He collected data from hundreds of remote viewers over thousands of sessions, over decades of time, and aggregated down the places of only broad consensus. The points where nearly everyone agreed over years and years.
What came out was while we didn’t nuke ourselves, things like the fall of the USSR, the rise of HIV/AIDS, climate change, and terrorism replacing the Cold War seemed like crazy talk at the time, but it's what the remote viewers said. To date, points of wide consensus have held accurate because they’re non-specific. It's not “on Sept 11 this will happen…” it’s “something happened, and now terrorism is why the world is a more dangerous place.”
You can watch here in 2017 where Schwartz talks about a “series of epidemics” occurring. HIV/AIDS was the first one, and last I checked, the opioid crisis, huge increases in non-communicable diseases, and COVID are all massive public health problems on a scale we didn’t used to have - even at the level that in 2017 to consider them. Then he describes Zoom meetings, and how they’re in VR by 2050. So, like I said, things get worse.
/backstory
In the last few years, Schwartz started up a new version of the 2050 project, asking remote viewers to look at the year 2060, and report on wide consensus. A summary of his work is here, with findings on the last page. (This is not investment advice… or is it? ;) I’ve been waiting around on a book with more details for 2 years now, and still nothing, so I have this and interviews as most of what he has out there to go on.
I’m a remote viewer, and I’ve had years of profound, sometimes bonkers experiences that have forced me to stop being so materialist and accept that sometimes remote viewing works. And that the universe is buck wild, but whatever.
Anyone can learn to remote view, just like anyone can learn French if they spend a lot of time every day working on something that seems cool at first, but is ultimately borderline pointless to do without a solid reason. In reality, both have too many rules and are kind of annoying to keep up every day when you’re not using it professionally. But, objectively, learning French is still worse.
….But I’ve also studied and used social science data for work, and looking at broad consensus is how we evaluate things like aggregating survey data. So I put a lot of stock in both the 2050 and 2060 projects simply based on the methodology.
You know what I don’t put a lot of stock in? Astrology.
So I made the mistake of asking astrology about the general themes forecast for the US for 2030-2045, expecting some sort of hilarious contradictions. Like “oh, 2034, Saturn is in Leo - the US elects its first kitty-cat president :3 YAY!””
Nope.
Fam (can I call you fam?) - look, Fam, let me tell you, it did not go well for me.
TL;DR of that post: Nothing contradicts Schwartz. Even the timeline of bad to worse lines up. And I didn't even tell them why I was asking about that time frame before I got a few responses back.
We go from now to bad in the early-mid 2030s, bad to worse in late 2030s/2040, then spicy worse until 2045, then come up for air by the time kindergarten-age kids of today are old enough to rent a car and drive it through Mad Max: Tornado Dustbowl II.
OK, so two woo-woo data points. Who cares, right? Just stupid woo coincidence, right? How many pretend "skeptics" are screaming "confirmation bias!" at me right now? It's not zero.
But....Then we have the unfortunate triangulation of the fact that some of the less pleasant climate change models pointing to a 2.5+ degree world, which is entirely right smack-dab in the realm of possibility right now, agree with the severity of the remote viewing predictions. Expectations of a Blue Ocean event are on track for 2036-2038ish, and the remote viewing data says something happens around 2040 that is a big deal.
The 2050 and 2060 projects both agree that there are migrations: “people flee the coasts, then the Midwest becomes uninhabitable.” But like, more uninhabitable than right now. Constant tornados and floods and drought and general bad times kind of uninhabitable, not like, thinking spaghetti in your chili is still food (I’ll fight you about this, Cincinnati! Come at me!)
Now, if you’ve made it this far, you’re probably just a podcast host desperate for content. Respect.
But for real, if you’ve made it this far, it’s important to acknowledge the fact that this is a warning. This is knowledge, not to create fear, but to inform your sound choices. To be used to guide your life. Data to keep you safe and happy and doing whatever else normal people do these days. Fidget spinners? Are those still a thing? In this post I'll give an update on one of the leading civil spoofing cases. I believe what is happening in the NWBO spoofing case is directly relevant to GME - spoofing a stock to support a naked short position. A successful outcome for NWBO will set out the roadmap for GME to follow.

December 2019: The fraud section of the DoJ "...has concluded spoofing and market manipulation are widespread, so general deterrence requires harsher sanction." [3]
December 5, 2017 - August 1, 2022: Defendant Market Makers engaged in 2,849 episodes of spoofing NWBO stock with the intent to lower the share price. [4] NWBO sold over 274 million shares at manipulated prices during this time period. Id.
December 1, 2022: NWBO filed a lawsuit against seven market makers accusing them of repeated "spoofing", an illegal practice to manipulate the share price of a stock. [5]
Citadel Securities labelled the case a "malicious lawsuit [that] blatantly misrepresents how the market functions in an attempt to shake down the world's leading liquidity providers." [6]
February 16, 2022: The Wall Street Journal publishes an article entitled "Justice Department Targets 'Spoofing' and 'Scalping' in Short Seller Investigation." [7] Forbes claims that "The U.S. Department of Justice is targeting dozens of prominent short-selling investment and research firms in a sweeping federal investigation that has gone on since last year, according to several reports, with prosecutors probing potentially illegal trading tactics." [8]
March 24, 2023: Reuters reports that "Short-selling, the practice of seeking to profit off bets that a stock will fall, is a key focus for U.S. prosecutors, and there will be more activity by the Justice Department in coming months, a top department official said on Wednesday." [9]
July 12, 2023: Defendant Market-Makers in NWBO's case claimed that the alleged spoofing was "...bedrock market-making activity..." that is "..**.**routine, regulated market making activity in virtually every stock in every trading venue across the country..." [10] (emphasis added)
February 14, 2024: Judge Woods adopted in full the findings of Magistrate Judge Stein in the NWBO Case. The Court stated, in relevant part:
"The FAC [First Amended Complaint] contains particularized factual allegations evincing all the indicia of spoofing." [11] (emphasis added)
March 1, 2024: The Financial Times publish an article about NWBO's Case entitled "'Spoofing' case might draw back curtain on high-speed trading firms". [12] The article opens with "File under: huge if true." Id. The article closes with "...if Citadel Securities and its ilk are to beat this case and prevent a string of copycat suits, they will probably have to give the rest of us more of a peek behind the curtain." Id.
THE FUTURE
I believe the NWBO case is likely to move into discovery. Similar to the Harrington spoofing case [13], I believe the clients of the Market Makers that engaged in spoofing will be unmasked and they will receive document/deposition subpoenas. These Market Makers and their clients could be facing the prospect of a civil and criminal case. and even the prospect of covering a substantial and possibly illegal naked short position.
NWBO's lawsuit claims that spoofing is being done to benefit a naked short selling scheme:
"And like here, the plaintiff alleged that defendants sought to benefit from their spoofing by obtaining shares at below-market prices in order to cover short positions established through a related alleged scheme of naked short selling." [14]
These allegations of a naked short selling scheme are being brought forth via NWBO's lead attorney, Laura Posner. Some relevant background on Ms. Posner:
"Prior to joining the firm, Laura was appointed by the New Jersey Attorney General to serve as the Bureau Chief for the New Jersey Bureau of Securities – the top securities regulator in New Jersey. In that capacity, she was responsible for administrating and enforcing the New Jersey Uniform Securities Law and regulations thereunder, as well as managing and overseeing the employees who staff the Bureau of Securities. Cases prosecuted under Laura’s direction as Bureau Chief resulted in hundreds of millions of dollars in recoveries for New Jersey residents and more than 20 criminal convictions." [15]
Are Market Makers and/or their clients using social media to suppress share price and support a potential naked short position?
There is a years long negative NWBO social media campaign on nearly every social media platform. One such platform, InvestorsHub, has nearly 25,000 message boards. [16] Of these 25,000 message boards the most read and posted on message board is NWBO, an obscure cancer vaccine company on the US OTC. A large percentage of the posts on NWBO's InvestorsHub forums are from admitted non-investors in the company that claim to be looking out for shareholders. These white knights protecting the retail have been at forums like InvestorsHub posting negative NWBO narratives for years on end. Maybe these are truly people taking time out of their day to look out for retail's best interest, or maybe they are part of the naked short selling scheme referenced in the NWBO case. I'm hopeful that both the civil and a potential criminal case get to the bottom of the question of whether there is a large unreported and potentially illegal naked short position in NWBO.
The more data we see via the NWBO spoofing lawsuit, the more questionable social media behavior we see, the more I believe we might have a significant naked short position in NWBO. It doesn't make sense to see such a comprehensive social media campaign and extreme amounts of spoofing for a measly 4.48% short interest (per Fintel) in a small obscure US OTC company.
GME
I believe the NWBO case follows the same pattern as what we've seen with GME - a large naked short position supported by illegal market manipulation via spoofing and a social media campaign. It will be interesting to see how the NWBO case turns out as I believe it will be directly relevant to GME. The NWBO spoofing case could set out the exact roadmap for GME to follow.

An effort to replace a 35-year-old fire engine that has been carried by several of the town’s fire chiefs has finally borne fruit.
By just six votes, residents at Monday’s town election approved a ballot question for a $480,000 Proposition 2½ override to purchase a new fire engine. This amount will supplement a $200,000 transfer from the town’s stabilization fund. The engine will be purchased through a five-year loan, which will result in taxes being raised by $80 to $100 per year over that period.
Monday’s vote was 79-73. Fire Chief Joe Larson said the department is “in shock” since hearing the news.
“People want to go drive in the truck,” he said on Tuesday. “Overall, it helps with all the categories — morale, retention and recruitment.”
Larson said the older vehicle, a 1989 GMC E-One, has numerous mechanical problems, one of which being it struggled on hills. The vehicle also needed new brakes, a radiator and tires, Larson said. The truck has a manual transmission, which the chief said is one more thing to train his volunteer firefighters to do. He also mentioned the National Fire Protection Association recommends vehicles be replaced at 25 years.
Larson added that even the larger towns and cities have older fire engines.
“They’re big price tags to pay,” he said.
The new vehicle, which will have an E-One body on a Spartan chassis, will be built by Greenwood Emergency Vehicles of North Attleborough, and Larson said it will have more room for equipment.
“The truck’s been needed for a long time,” Larson said. “The taxpayers gave us the ability; this has been a dream of the department.”
The Warwick Fire Department has four vehicles — two engines, an all-purpose vehicle called a “squad” and a brush tanker that can maneuver through the forests. Larson said there is another engine that is 36 years old, but in better shape than the one being replaced, that he hopes to retire in the near future. He added that the town has a Capital Planning Committee, and the new fire engine is a pillar of the work it will do.
“Thank you to the taxpayers for supporting us,” Larson said.
Of the town’s 681 registered voters, 153 voters made it to the polls, making for a 22.5% turnout. There were no contested races in the election.
The results are as follows:

Larson said there is another engine that is 36 years old, but in better shape than the one being replaced, that he hopes to retire in the near future. He added that the town has a Capital Planning Committee, and the new fire engine is a pillar of the work it will do.

I've just completed my re-read of all of Stormlight in anticipation of the WaT coming out later this year. To say I'm excited for the new book would be an understatement.
Throughout my time reading Sanderson's works (Stormlight first then Mistborn Era 1+2, then everything else), I had largely considered Rhythm to be the weakest of the Stormlight series, with rating being something like Oathbringer as a 9.5, WoK a 9, Words of Radiance 8, Rhythm 7.
On my re-read however my view of Rhythm improved markedly and several of the issues I had originally seemed to fall away:
2nd: On re-read I really really appreciated the Navani-Raboniel relationship more and feel like I glossed over this too fast in my first read. Raboniel ends up being a great character and a very interesting looking at someone utterly desperate to escape the prison of a life she is placed in by this eternal war. Navani's appreciation for her near the end after ending her daughter's life and her scenes with Moash were after all.
3rd: Conversely, this one seemed to be an even stronger take than before. Venli's chapters really just felt insufferable to me. I realize her story is about the awful things that happen with a literal child being forced to be responsible for the survival of her people, but her storyline just doesn't feel believable, especially the scenes in Kholinar where she just does everyone's bidding while igniting a war that effectively dooms multiple nations.
4th: This one....really doesn't make sense to me. I hope this is something addressed in WaT, but Szeth walked into Taravangian's room and just murdered a prisoner. We the reader know that Taravangian escaped and took up the shard of Odium, so never actually died....but Dalinar in the Radiants legitimately thing he murdered an elderly prisoner in cold blood with no authorization or process of justice. Dalinar immediately sending him on a mission to Shinovar with Kaladin seems insane given these circumstances.
5th: On re-read I liked this scene much more than I did in my original read, but I feel like it was just overdone so much. Dalinar's forgiveness scene in Oathbringer I think was the perfect template for Kaladin falling through the storm. It would have been better for him as a character to overcome his unwillingness to say the Fourth Ideal on his own, but even if he needed Dalinar to help him, then it would have been better to keep his entire falling plot within a single chapter instead of chopping it up so much. The constant jump cuts really ruined the tension of his fall and his return.
That was really just a stream of consciousness on the books as I finished them, but a few theories I have:

- Kaladin is re-walking the same paths that Tanavast walked long in the past. In WoKs Kaladin almost ends his life at the HONOR chasm, presumably where Honor was splintered. The Stormfather later tells Dalinar that Tanavast loved humans and died protecting them. My guess would be Tanavast made a promise to protect both the Singers and the Humans, and was torn apart trying to honor both of those promises much like Kal was during WoR trying to protect Elhokar while also agreeing to help his murderers. More on this right below.
- In Mistborn era 1, we are continually led to believe Vin will be the Hero of Ages, but in the end Sazed takes up both shards to form Harmony. Scadrial at the time was plagued by so many environmental disasters that the person to take up the power of the shards needed to be wise enough to use the power to remake the world itself: a task that Vin would have been incredibly ill suited for. I think a story conclusion is very similar in Stormlight, the true problem Roshar faces is the cycle of eternal war that destroys the planet and its people of both Singer and human descent. The person to eventually take up Honor / Odium / Cultivation etc. must be someone who can legitimately bring an end to the war and find a way to peacefully coexist. Kal so far seems like the best example, Dalinar is intent on leading the Radiants as a military force to oppose Odium directly, while Kal has had significant time with the Singers and humans of every kind, and he sees them as no different from each other.
- Odium's offer to Dalinar near the end of the book, where the contest of champions is hashed out seems to have some spoilers: Odium: "Though I will be able to focus my attentions on sending agents to the rest of the Cosmere, using what I've conquered here as enough for now." as an addendum to the terms Dalinar demands if he wins. In Mistborn Era 2 we see two groups that are agents of Odium (the Skybreakers and the Iriali) operating on Scadrial. This seems like it indicates that Dalianr will be victorious and Odium will focus on sending agents to other planets and systems.
- Dalinar: "I intend to be my own champion, I'll have died if you win." Odium "Yesssss, you will have. And you will give your soul to me. You Dalinar will join the Fused. You will become immortal." Human Fused are confirmed then. Who do we know wanted to become immortal and was generally a huge asshole who caused most of these problems? Gavilar. My pet theory is Gavilar will be Odium's champion when it is revealed that Odium made him a Fused after Szeth killed him. Gavilar being Odium's champion is a great explanation for why we start every single book looking at Gavilar through a different perspective in the prologues and will be a great emotional moment for Dalinar to face off against Gavilar one final time. No one else seems like it will have the same emotional weight as Gavilar, bringing a random Fused we've never heard of to get stomped by Dalinar would be anti-climatic while Gavilar could be an excellent twist for the series with lots of pontential foresadowing left to us in the prologues.

I recently graduated OCS and I have been bombarded myself in real life over what to expect with OCS. For context, I went from basic training straight to OCS, and even graduated with honors. From the time of writing this post, it has officially been a month since I graduated. So here is a list of common questions I get and I hope I can settle some anxiety for all of you future 2nd LTs.

I recently graduated OCS and I have been bombarded myself in real life over what to expect with OCS. For context, I went from basic training straight to OCS, and even graduated with honors. From the time of writing this post, it has officially been a month since I graduated. So here is a list of common questions I get and I hope I can settle some anxiety for all of you future 2nd LTs.

- I haven't received a welcome letter or a packing list. Where can I find it?
- Fort Moore Officer Candidate School (army.mil) I would download and print the packing list and the ISAP. The ISAP acts more or less like a syllabus from college. It will give a rough understanding of the rules, regulations, and requirements for you to pass.
- Is everything on the packing list required?
- Yes. Try your best to follow the packing list to the letter. It is almost entirely dependent on the cadre and of course, the weather does play a part in their decision making. Some things you'll find you didn't really need or use throughout your cycle. For example, my cycle didn't use 550 Cord almost at all, but I used it to build a hooch and secure sensitive items.
- What if I don't have the required equipment on the packing list?
- When it comes to military equipment, try your best and bring what you can. I was never issued an IFAK before OCS or after. The cadre understands they have some coming from basic and those in-service. So if you have it, bring it. If not, bring it up to your cadre and they'll schedule time to get it issued to you.
- Anything not on the packing list you recommend?
- I would recommend the following: hand soap, bathroom spray, travel vacuum, wet wipes, clipboard with compartment, pillow, very bright headlamp, multitool, and laminator. Hand soap because for some reason OCS had a hard time procuring it. Travel vacuum because you'll likely have 2 or 3 vacuums available to your platoon and having your own saves time. Wet wipes to dust everything down. Clipboard with compartment for Land Nav as you'll be running with maps, marker, protractor, and your points so its best to have something safe and secure. Laminator for your papers because its Georgia and your papers can get wet. The pillows at OCS have this weird plastic cover on so if you want a better night sleep, get a better pillow. The headlamp is just in case, some classes enforce the lumen limit while others don't, Land Nav is DARK so if you can find a lighthouse out there, do it. The multitool is just useful to have especially if you are out in the field.
- Where can I find some things on the packing list I am missing?
- Luckily there is a company called Commandos who helped us out the entire time. They have an OCS purchasing list you can take advantage of. They even deliver that weekend at the footprint.

- I saw you can bring your laptops? Is it required for classes? Can I opted in for a tablet or iPad?
- You can bring a personal laptop primarily for recreational use after duty hours. OCS will provide you with a government laptop that you'll need to use your CAC to access. Tablets and iPads are not considered laptops and will be confiscated like a phone. If the majority of your class has issues with the government-issued laptops, then the cadre may allow the use of your personal laptops.
- What is your day-to-day look like?
- Mostly on a non-physical or FTX event coming up you'll follow the following schedule: 0500 - wake up. First formation is at 0600, then you conduct PT until breakfast. After breakfast, you will head to the classroom and stay there until lunch, return and stay there until dinner. After dinner, it will be the end of the duty hours and you'll roughly have 2 hours for personal time.
- What are the most important categories/test to focus on?
- Treat everything as important. Every test you do not pass can put you at risk of being recycled, and it is up to you to catch up. For example while everyone is studying for tactics, you'll be studying tactics and history if you failed history. So save yourself the hassle and take every test seriously. The big 3 recycle events have been historically, Army History (70% to pass), Land Nav (4 points or more to pass (day and night)), and the 4-mile run (need to run in under 36 minutes regardless of gender).
- How many retests or chances do you get?
- You get 2 tries at everything before recycle. You get 2 tries again at the same test then you can be dismissed. For example: You are part of Alpha company. You failed history twice. You get recycled into Bravo company. You failed history twice again. You can be dismissed.
- If you happen to pass history but fail Land Nav twice, then you'll be recycled into Charlie. If you fail Land Nav twice then you can be dismissed.
- What is a recycle? What does it look like in OCS? Can you get dismissed?
- A recycle is when you fail something twice and you get "recycled" into the next class. A recycle can occur for other reasons such as illness or injury. You can also be recycled for improper behavior or being "peered out". Every class starts up in a like a month (I heard they are changing that for even further out). So even though the cycle takes about 12 weeks to complete, if you get recycled you can expect more like 16 weeks or more. We had someone at OCS who has been with it for a year. If you get recycled for repeat offenses, or do something majorly bad such as breaking the law, then you can be dismissed.
- What is being peered out mean?
- Throughout the cycle you are put into a platoon and then a squad. Your squadmates eventually all sit down and fill out a form to give to the cadre who is the weakest link in the squad. Usually, squads kick out the person they do not like. We had to kick out one person because they didn't mesh well within the squad and wasn't very kind. He would then get replaced with someone else who got peered out. Luckily after that one person got kicked out, the squad improved and we tried our hardest to keep it together. We still needed to peer someone out, but we kept tabs on them and invited them to a lot of our squad functions nonetheless as my squads grew to love and respect each other as a family.
- If you do get peered out, unfortunately, you get a spot report, moved to a different squad, and are at risk of being recycled if peered out again. Stay humble and help out whenever you can. I got the most respect from my squadmates as I stayed up late with them to help them with their STX lanes.
- What is personal time like?
- You essentially use personal time to work out if the PT wasn't enough, clean yourself, and prepare for bed. Yes if you have time, you can contact family and friends (when you get your phones), and if you have the time, play games. I don't recommend playing games as it distracts you from the mission of graduating.
- What are the different phases like?
- You are separated into 3 phases. Black, Blue, and White. You immediately enter black phase upon arrival with a tradition called "Gold to Black". Which is more or less a physical smoking session. During Black you are expected to run everywhere, not be able to drink coffee, have your phone confiscated (and given back on Sunday), and have less personal time. Blue you get the ability to drink coffee again, and you have your phones returned and used only during personal time. During Blue you get the ability to visit and explore the base (Fort Moore) and shop around. During White phase you get the ability to explore off-base (Columbus) and you get to wear civilian clothes. White phase if you leave off-post, you need to be in uniform, and on-base you can be in civilians.
- Can you use your personal vehicle?
- Yes, but you can only drive it during White Phase
- How can I keep in contact with my family during Black phase?
- I recommend that you download WhatsApp or some other social media on your laptop and have your family members on it.
- Can I visit the gym on base?
- Yes during Blue phase you can visit the gym. Rules regulate that you leave the footprint in uniform and change into the appropriate PT uniform once at the gym and conducting PT.
- What is the DFAC like?
- The DFAC is better than basic training and offers snacks like cookies, granola bars, ice cream, and soda. They have a salad bar and the usual cycle of foods. They do have a "short-order" line that serves fries, burgers, hot dogs, etc. To stay in physical shape, I recommend eating your fruit and a side salad every meal. Drink juice, Gatorade, or water only. I only drank soda and the burger after an intense physical requirement like a long run or a ruck march to regain my glucose and caloric levels.
- Does Amazon deliver there?
- Yes, you can have other things delivered to the footprint. However, the Cadre are going to inspect it for food and other contraband. Just ask the cadre for the delivery address. It may take like 2 weeks for them to deliver it.
- Any final advice?
- Be helpful and noticeable amongst your squad but try not to bring attention to yourself from the cadre. Take everything seriously and give yourself proper rest and proper nutrition. OCS is not hard, but it can be if you let it get to you. OCS is designed to test your competency, commitment, and character. I luckily had an amazing squad, and I had a blast with them.
- Any advice on room cleanliness?
- Your rooms will always be inspectable. You literally leave the door open and cadre can enter whenever they please to inspect your room. Room inspections are always very strict and can result in spot reports. Some tips I did with my roommates were the following: Always help each other lock each other's lockers. If it is open the cadre will then see how much of a mess it is. My closet was 90% of the time never up to standard as it is hard to putting away everything nice and neat every single night. I also slept on the floor to not disturb my bed as any wrinkle can result in a spot report. I used an extra towel as a display in the bathroom and never used it, and I used an extra laundry bag as a display and never used it.

So CJ gets promoted to Chief of Staff (I know the realistic-ness of this has been debated here and on the podcast) but why in the world would they go so long without a press secretary?
I know the idea was that they could take their time, but dang. Will just took over as DOC and he still has to do press briefings because there’s STILL no press secretary? At least 6 months of time have had to pass in-universe at this point?
If this gets resolved within the next few episodes I will come back and laugh at myself.
