I’ve been to similar Lego events in the area and Chicago suburbs but this was by far the worst I’ve ever been too. Right off the bat even if you have small kids pass on this it is a waste of $25 a ticket (with their fees)
It was advertised as across halls A,B and C but could have fit in half of one of those. There was one vendor (which was the event runner selling overpriced sets), one display area and at most 4 statues around. Outside of that they had a “mural building” a few small play tables and a coloring page area.
Overall avoid these events like the plague and trust what others have said when they’re not great. I read some posts going into (but after I’d bought my ticket) and thought it couldn’t be as bad as they say, which was correct I think it was worse.

Hi, I’m looking for the English dub for the brazillian cartoon “Zica e os Camaleões” (Zica and the Chameleons). It was aired and licensed by Nickelodeon Brazil in 2014, and TV Brasil from 2014 to 2017.
"Zica is a 14-year-old teenager who feels black and white in a colorful world. Zica seeks to assimilate the transition period she is experiencing through her art: she draws, writes and composes songs with her band formed with her best friend Gui and drummer Batata. When she is alone in her room, she usually talks and reflects with her three pet Chameleons. The episodes are divided between the "real world" in which she lives, the "creative world" that takes place in her room, and a video clip at the end of every episode." (Translated from the portuguese Wikipedia article about the show).
A fully dubbed episode 7 along with an english promo for the show was posted on the official Vimeo account for Cinema Animadores, the production company for the show. You can find those here and here. I couldn’t find any info about the voice actors or the company.
More info: The show was created after a short pilot aired on Anima TV 2010, a brazillian project organized by the government focused on highlighting and producing brazillian animations. There’s a brazillian article that mentions that the show was featured in an online version of a "Variety" magazine. Its official international release was done after MIPCOM in 2015, a french event to buy and sell new television shows for international distribution. It didn’t have a huge reception in Brazil as far as I’m aware (most people say it got cut short because of that), so it’s probably lost to time. I’ve tried e-mailing the production company for the show about it, still waiting for a response.

Hi all, I am writing a chat app which can play audio file in the chatscreen of the app. After updating to Expo SDK 51, the app cannot load the chatscreen with audio message (but it used to work fine when I was using Expo SDK 48). Also, anyone has ideas on how I can modify the function playAudio( ) as I feel strange that the loadAudio has to appear twice (The purpose of that is to make the playback to go back to time =0 after direct finished playing).

So, I have been getting into coloring for the first time since I was a little girl, and have been coloring nonstop in a coloring planner I got at Sam’s back in September, using mainly Crayola markers. I just recently purchased a coloring book from Julianne Colors (Just Food), and I borrowed my sister’s alcohol markers for a page or two, and I liked them SO much better than my Crayola markers.
Since then, I’ve been trying to find some decent quality alcohol markers for a good price, since I’m a College student without a job and have very little money, but I really don’t know what to choose. The ones my sister has are (I think) $70 something on Amazon. Does anyone have any recommendations for which ones to get?

Plot: The main character (a man) was travelling around and documenting strange creatures he came across (or maybe he found bones of the extinct creatures and was trying to figure out what made them extinct?). Every so often the book would have a black and white sketch of a strange creature he came across. It would then describe the character's findings about the creature (how it lived, how it became extinct, etc.)

Notable Characters: The main character was a man who was an adventurer of some sort. He also had a strange dog-like creature as a pet. This dog could change colors and become stinky at will. I vaguely remember there being a lady during a later part of the book that became the main character's girlfriend? But this was not a romance book.

Physical Description:
The book had a long title. Somehow I remember the title being something along the lines of "Mr. _____ Journal/Diary/Adventure of Strange Creatures", but I could be remembering wrong. The cover was not particularly detailed. I think it basically just featured the title of the book in large letters on the center. Maybe a blueish or grayish background? I think it was a soft-cover book.
When/Where it was set:
I don't know what time period the book was set in. I think the main character probably travelled to some secluded island to document strange creatures so there wasn't much civilization or other human characters in the book. I also don't remember there being any special gadgets or technology, but I could be wrong.

Book length: The book was not a book for really really young kids because it had a lot more text than pictures. I think the book was maybe about 100-200 pages or so, so it wasn't super long or super short.

I read the book in English and I live in the USA. It was probably the original language.
When I read the book:
I read the book sometime around 2015-2018. I was in later middle-school or early high-school (I was probably between 13-16 years old). I didn't do much reading so I imagine it was probably nothing too advanced or difficult to read for that age group.

I rented the book from a library in United States.

Creatures in book:
The creatures were not the typical fantasy creatures like dragons, griffon's, etc. They were completely original. I remember 4 creatures in the book.
There was some kind of troll creature that lived near the ocean. The trolls found and collected magnetic rocks. I think the magnetic rocks would lure fish closer to them or maybe they were a status symbol of some sort? But gradually the magnets made the trolls get shorter and shorter because of their strong magnetic pull. The magnets probably made the troll creature get extinct because the trolls became too short.
There was also a really big creature with a tiny head. I think the creature was called a "Pinhead".
There was also a cute dandelion puff bunny. They were so light-weight and small that they would get carried away in the wind. I think the bones of this creature were so small and lightweight that the main character almost didn't discover them.
And finally there was a dog-like creature which became the main characters pet. This is probably the only creature that was not extinct?
Notable scene:
I remember one scene where the main character found someone he liked. But his dog-like pet was either jealous or bored, so he turned green and stinky to scare away the main character's girlfriend. I believe the main character then had to go and asked his pet something along the lines of: "Was that really necessary?" The dog could not talk.

I’m looking to get a new printer. My budget is $200-$300. I keep going back and forth between whether a laser or ink printer is better for what I need, and I’m definitely lost on brand.
I need a printer for 2 main purposes:
A. printing out curriculum. This is 200-300 pages at a time and needs to be able to be colored. B. Book binding - so large quantities of black and white. This requires duplex printing.
Any suggestions? I’m happy to clarify needs or answer any questions.
To add: if I have to spend up to $500 I’ll save up for it, but no higher than $500 and if possible $200-$300.

I just got the Pixel 8 Pro and noticed something. Something about the colors has been bothering me as I was setting it up, but I chalked it up to experiencing a new display and needing time to adjust to biggest size + different saturation level

This imgur compilation doesn't make it seem too bad I think, irl it was worse when taking those pictures, the screens came out looking too bright and 10-20% too color-balanced. At a brightness level I'd normally use the phone that issue is even worse, significantly so
The results of my comparison over multiple photos, side by side:
LG G7 - My current phone. Too blue-ish and oversaturated but not too off reality, just noticeably oversaturated and cool
Pixel 8 Pro - Way too yellow/warm. I take a photo of a while wall - appears yellow-ish on Pixel's screen. I read text on Reddit in dark mode - white text appears slightly yellow too. That same photo on other devices looks way better and more true-to-life. I go to Google's white support page - background looks very much yellow-ish
My main display visible in the photos for a bit of comparison - NOTE: it isn't some crazy color-accurate display Perhaps even a bit undersaturated; not too bright. Color balance appears close enough to reality, definitely best of all the screens I was comparing images with (Pixel, G7 and my mom's S23, which had a slight yellow tint but not nearly as bad as my Pixel)When I compare displaying the Google support page with normal brightness on Pixel to my PC display the issue becomes laughably bad. The screen unironically looks as if you had yellow glasses on

3 months old - Most responses not agreeing that this "yellow tint" issue is a thing. Ngl that surprised me a lot, since in the earlier posts people seemed to agree that the screen is indeed too bright, some even saying they were refunding the phone over that. Ngl I am contemplating the same thing if it's just the way it is

Tried both "Natural" and "Adaptive". The issue of overly-warm display is very similar on both

I want to see what the feedback will be here. I am wondering if I got unlucky with my unit. Does it seem like my phone has some kind of significant defect causing this issue? Is that just the way Pixel 8 Pro is and I should get used to it? Do you also take photos of white things and they appear noticeably yellow on your Pixel 8s screen? (the photo itself is perfectly fine, which becomes obvious when displayed on other devices)

The knives are of standard make and easily replaceable with others from the armory, though Micah tends to clean and sharpen them himself after each use.

a) Dead Communication; Ever since his close brush with death, Micah's powers surged. His father's connection to spirits and those who have died became his and as such he can now see and communicate with the spirits of the dead. They have been his only source of information on his father. He likes to build a network of spirits whenever he goes somewhere new so he can gather information as fast as possible.
b) Shadow Camouflage; From a fairly young age, Micah wasn't much of a social butterfly. Most of the time, he felt most comfortable in a shadowy nook where the lines of his body would be broken by shadows, using the ability unconsciously. After his near-death experience, Micah became more aware of his ability to hide in shadows and learned to use it more effectively than before.
c) Shadow Travel\;* After an unknowably long amount of time spent in Hades, Micah's father, Charon, was aligned with the underworld to which he led the souls of the dead. Similarly, Micah has inherited the ability to travel through shadows in short or long-range teleports.

Micah has the ability to project an aura with two opposite effects that work on separate targets. A calming effect affects any spirits within the aura while an imposing effect like that of Children of Hades affects living beings within the aura's range.

a) Major Watercraft Manipulation\;* Being known as the Ferryman of the Dead, it only makes sense for Charon, and Micah by extension, to have dominion over watercraft. Micah's control over watercraft was one of the first powers he discovered and the power that is most intertwined with him in his entirety. He has inherited the ability to gain absolute control over any and all watercraft down to the rigging and ropes.

Over the years, Micah has picked up a good variety of skills, including fishing and rope work. Still, there have been a great many learning experiences for the boy on the streets of Sicily. Free running came as a given to any child of below-average means in Sicily but Micah was significantly worse than most thanks to a leg injury he got at the age of thirteen. Drawing was the only real luxury he had during his time when he wasn't working. A young lady from a carnival that was passing through taught him how to use throwing knives after he helped her find her way around the city. He learned ballet by watching, sitting for hours outside a studio every day for weeks until he'd gotten good enough to practice independently, which led to his interest in gymnastics. One of the older neighborhood boys took to teaching Micah, his brother, and the other kids how to read and write in English. Micah's adoptive mother insisted on teaching him how to speak English from a young age. Now, he can speak English with a barely noticeable Sicilian accent.

Micah is about as quiet as you'd expect from a Chthonic kid. That isn't to say that he is particularly serious or brooding, in fact, even when he's upset, he rarely does either. He mainly remains silent because he isn't particularly talented at talking. His reactions to most things tend to be a bit muted unless something is especially funny or angering. Any of the kids that liked him or trusted him in Sicily did so because they understood that when it was needed, Micah would talk as much as was needed and would do what needed to be done to keep everyone safe.

backstory
Micah's past year at camp had been simultaneously the most relaxing and confusing year of his life. There had been a unfamiliarity that Micah had with anything to do with relaxation or really anything but working that had slowly melted away. He'd made friends and discovered passions that might have otherwise gone ignored for the rest of his life (Art was definitely one of those).
So, when school started to take over his time, Micah barely gave it any thought, settling back into his old work mentality, though now focused on mental instead of physical labor. Before he knew it, it was summer, school was out, and he was back at the start, not knowing how to get himself to relax.
now
Micah stared at the ground around the Range target blankly, the celestial bronze knives scattered around it refracting light. He was jolted out of his mental haze when a camper a few rows down yelled at him for standing in front of the target for so long. Quickly finishing up gathering his throwing knives, Micah slotted them into his bandolier and left the Range.
For a while, he just walked, until he reached the pier. Boats had been a constant of Micah's life before coming to camp and when he was really out of it or off his rocker, the son of Charon liked to settle at the camp pier and imagine what sort of sea vessel he'd design for himself. Aesthetics might not have mattered to everyone but to Micah, they did. The ship would have to look as good as it sailed.
Now, he fell onto his back in the sand a few meters from the pier and stared up at the sky. Barely any clouds. Gods that was boring.
