When I was 17 my family had two rescue dogs. One was a German Shepherd the family gave up because she was too wild. She'd destory things in the house like couches and shoes, whatever was left around her unattended. The final straw for the family was when she nipped one of their kids. We took her home with us and when we got home my dad and I sat out on front porch with her. We lived in the country. Dad told me to take her collar off and let her go free. I did. She ran around for hours until she tired herself from chasing chickens. Then she came back and sat beside me. From that moment on, she was the most behaved and intelligent dog I'd ever known. She'd listen to all commands and was just an incredible dog.
A year or two later we adopted another dog. A male Rottweiler. He had been locked in a room in a suburban home, was too vicious and had serious issues. If you pet him and stopped before he was satiated he'd growl and sometimes attack. He was pretty aggressive, but the rescue shepherd would hang with him and bring him toys when he'd get put in a kennel when he was acting out.
We had a driveway between our property and the other property to the north. The man who lived there had two daughters. He'd force his daughter to cut grass all summer and tend to his prized rose garden. Sometimes our Rottweiler would watch the girls. But he'd never crossed the two high fences because it was pretty impossible as they were solid barriers that were well maintained.
The man next door said we had to put the Rottweiler down, that he looked crazy. He had multiple conversations with my dad and dad would say "we are rehabing him. He'll never be able to cross those two fences. It's impossible."
The mans retort? "Well if they get bit I'll sue you for everything you own."
Dad said, "well then that works out for you then. You'll be rich!"
Months later I came home late night and my shepherd was acting funny. It was like she was drunk. Wobbly, stumbling. I took her to the vet and they asked if we had any antifreeze on the property. I said yes, we are a farm, but we keep all our chemicals locked up because we know dogs get into anything. They asked about rat poison. I said the same thing.
The vet told me that she'd been poisoned and they'd try to help. Unfortunately she ended up dying. I was a wreck. Our Rottweiler, though he wasn't poisoned, would no longer eat after the shepherd died. They were friends, probably his only true friend, and I am sure he died of depression. I was convinced it was my neighbor, 17 years we'd lived on that farm and my father was very diligent about poison control on the property. The way the girls acted around me changed and it made it certain for me that their father must've chucked a poisoned piece of meat into our yard.
A half a year or so later the man and his family moved a few miles away. Me and the girls went to HS together so I knew where they lived because there was only one school bus that serviced the kids in my rural area.
One night after driving home a little tipsy (I know, I was a dumb kid) I decided to take revenge. I'd been hearing on the bus about how her dad was making maple syrup now on their new property. I could see the sap buckets hanging from the trees maple trees. On this tipsy night, imagining if things were different and my dog hadn't died, she'd probably be coming to the gate to meet me. I couldn't taken it so I pulled over and crept onto their property with my full bladder and pissed in as many sap buckets as I could. Just a tinkle here and there, not enough to raise suspicion, but enough to hit 90% of the sap buckets.
I fucking hope they talk about that year when the maple syrup had a salted caramel flavor to it and how they were never able to replicate it. Fuck you, Terry.

I am suing a previous employer due to wrongful termination, unsafe work conditions, which I reported and was ignored, resulting in the unsafe conditions affecting my own health for over a year. I can only say so much, but I have a strong case because all communications were documented and even though the employer lied, state agencies investigated their statements and found them to be not true. They lied and said that I quit when they actually fired me for voicing my concerns and reporting them to the facility DR, as a am a healthcare professional and patients had a specific disease, very contagious, which they refused to acknowledge even after I showed proof. They fired me for reporting this despite the patients being sick and needing medical treatment, and to not report this would be against the laws set forth for my specific license.
Anyways, I’m having trouble figuring out how to draft the intent to sue letter without going into great detail. I understand I need to furnish some type of proof, which I have a lot, but I keep saying too much, or not enough, and I’m going in circles at this point. I have medical records, records from state agencies, and proof in emails/messages that they recklessly sent me not thinking anyone would consider taking legal action, where they are blunt about firing me and the reasons.
I know I have a strong case, and I am unsure of how to draft my intent to sue, and also lost as to how much I should ask for. This condition caused me to be unable to work for many months and I understand I can go through workers comp but they also wrongfully fired me and I don’t feel like jumping through hoops while they mess with me as they have private insurance. I quit my job of several years to work for this company and within a month was fired for doing my job and not hiding things like they wanted me to.
What type of proof is considered being efficient at meeting the burden of proof for a civil case in Ohio? How much should I include, and should my letter detailing the situation be separate from the intent to sue letter? Should I include all of my records? I want them to understand I have a strong case because I am sure they will be found liable by a jury if it goes that way. But, I’d rather just settle quickly because I am very busy and am actually studying for my LSAT as I decided to go a different way after my experience with this employer. It cost me about $5,000 out of pocket, lost maybe $15k in wages, and myself and family are still seeing specialists due to this issue. Though it seems as if we are nearly recovered a year later.
Is it reasonable to ask for $20k? What proof should I include, and how detailed should my explanation be? Should I address this to the company by their Ohio business name or their contact information/representative off of the Ohio business name search records? Should I include specific names etc? I swear like at least once a week/month I see one post complaining about "HOW DARE YOU LIKE TWENTY ONE PILOT'S COVER OF CANCER OVER THE OG BY MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE" and it just pissed me tf off! If you've heard both versions of the song, you'd notice how vastly different each is. MCR's original version is like a sad rock/emo song using traditional instruments. The TOP version is slower and electronic and both offer different listening experiences. Ik especially within emo circles TOP is frequently made fun of and MCR are considered gods which is why this is so frustrating! Both bands are talented and worthy in their own ways (I say as someone who likes MCR more) and who cares if someone prefers what is essentially an entirely different song? It's called having different tastes ppl!
One more song I'll mention is Let it be by the Beatles. In a Beatles jukebox movie musical called Across the Universe, they do this church gospel choir cover of that song and I've always preferred that version over the original SUE ME

I just found this YouTuber….and now I’ve wasted hours of my life watching all of his videos and finding so many contradictions. (Btw he tells people they are “SELF-CONTRADICTING THEIR-selves” 😬….major grammar issues that make him sound VERY uneducated).
I’m shocked because he appears to need mental health help. I love transparency and definitely believe cities/counties need to be held accountable…but he is off the rails…his work isn’t making any change! Just making things worse. And his “representation” of the people makes us look insane. Please don’t stand up for me Mr. Pickron…we have plenty of crazy-town politicians that already do that.
I had to come here to discuss him because I’m traumatized (jk, not really, but kinda) by his behavior! Our cities’ inability to stop some of his shenanigans is way worse than any of his claims against them.

Most importantly, HE IS HIGHLY AGGRESSIVE W FEMALES and comes across as violent at times. This is my greatest concern with him. The fact that a county or city allows him to treat women in a disgusting manner is reprehensible! PTSD or not, there is no excuse for that. Will be a lengthy post but I really need some advice or guidance.
For starters some basic info, I am 25, NYC area, live at home still under my mom’s roof and we share the car. All info under her name I am not on any policy. I was driving home and got tboned in the back left side of my car which spun me around in a circle. The guy who hit me in his pickup truck fled the scene and then crashed 5 blocks away (DUI). Originally at my crash police asked if I had the guys plates or can describe his car. I said “black ford” and no plates obviously. They then hear about the other crash and we go see the car and it’s dark gray not black… even tho it was 10pm and I just got hit by a truck. Whatever. My real question is, I have very minimal injuries, neck pain, headaches, back pain, shoulder pain, but nothing broken or torn. I have returned to work only missing one day. Lawyer told me to go to his recommendation chiro and pain management doctors so I went. Is there any way I can sue the driver of the car that hit me to at least recoup some losses. My car is totaled for book value 9k. I went to the area of the crash the following day and have video evidence of before impact, the impact with my car, and video of him fleeing the scene. I also found out from the collision shop I towed the car to, that the pickup trucks license plate was jammed onto the side of my car from how hard the impact was. Police don’t care. Wont amend report to add license plate into my police report. Insurance wise I’m covered. Just wanted to see if there’s any case for a lawsuit and to get a settlement out of this to help pay for a new car, cover ubers/rental fees, and anything else.

Sure! was planing to release all the info he had on Diddy in 2022, but may have been poisoned beforehand similar to theories about Diddys’s ex wife Kim Porter who was originally married to Kim before Diddy stole her away along with Al’s son, also Diddy’s stepson Quincy. Diddy has also been directly tied to the murders or mysterious deaths of at least a half a dozen more people who were close associates from the beginning of his career and were key players in the formation of Bad Boy. Coincidentally many of the victims had either exposed or were threatening to expose evidence related to all of these crimes. They are also using Keefe D. to take the charge for 2Pacs murder so he can spin the story and leave out and ties to Diddy who ordered the hit or did it himself.
Unfortunately for Diddy, unlike the rest of the people he had successfully silenced in the past, Al ended up coming out of his coma and revealing all the info he had on Diddy, including that he was responsible for him falling into a coma. After he came out of the coma Diddy knew he was about to go down and before the raid he destroyed and staged all of his homes with evidence that would verify all the claims related to other celebrities over the age of 18. Meanwhile he got rid of all the videos involving murder, sa, child abuse, bestiality and other evidence that would bring major charges. This is so he can cooperate with the Feds and help reduce his sentence. If he hid all the evidence they would know and work overtime to find it. Instead he lied by omission and corroborated the accusations that won’t completely destroy him. He can then release all his dirt to seem like he made all the blackmail with the intention of bringing down known predators who were able to get away with the same things he’s guilty of.
In the video of Diddy in the wig, he talks about partying with Drake and The Weekend and I believe he was able to acquire the blackmail. He then released the blackmail to selected people to ensure they leak at the appropriate time. The plan is to publicly out Drake for sex crimes so the rest of Hollywood knows not to testify against him. During the auction mentioned by ebony prince they are going to auction off all the dirt Diddy has collected the last 30 years. This includes dirt on Trump, which may be the reason behind all of this. The auction is four days after Election Day and will be used as a fail safe in case Trump wins the election.

This is all speculation so please don’t victim blame or spread conspiracies about a possible survivor of C.S abuse. This is why many don’t come forward. All I’m trying to do is point out the large amount of details surrounding the rumor that stand out as odd to me. By no means does this dismiss his claims. I’m not a lawyer, but if he was suing my client, this is some of the evidence I would use in the case.
Before I start I need to put in a small disclaimer. **The subjects I covered in my essay are well known to be linked to conspiracy theory communities that have been equated to terrorist groups. The end goal of a lot of these communities is to promote political divide, antisemetism, homophobia, and violence. I think the ultimate goal is to create such a massive gap between the left and right that the two party system fails and we fall into anarchy allowing the people who really pull the strings to restructure and in order to retain their power. It’s already evident that Biden isn’t able to do nearly as much as he could do if he didn’t have to consider the opposing party’s majority vote as well. Whoever wins I feel the results will be the same, violent protests aiming to reverse the vote. If this is achieved it will be the death of democracy in America.
I highly encourage anyone who identifies with either political party and are attracted to controversial subjects or consider themselves to be contrarian to please look out for any conspiracies that seem to be targeted towards you or the community you’re a part of. If they share similar ideas to the findings I made in my research, please do not engage.
I’ve watched the conception and the eventual downfalls off the P-gate and Q conspiracy communities. It didn’t take me long to figure out the eventual end game and step back from the community while continuing independent research. If you’re letting someone else to the research for you, you really need to be sure to trust the source and be aware of possible ulterior motives. It’s really dangerous territory though, filled with hidden traps that can draw you in and send you so deep that you either end up going into psychosis from the stress and paranoid, or you do what I did and step back for the sake of your mental health. I hate even sharing things like this because I know it may not have the effect I intended, but on the other hand people who are new to these subjects and conspiracies really, really need to take them seriously. They are not just games on the internet and there is a reason members of these communities have to hide in the shadows and lure people into their dark corners. There is also reason why they target the groups they do and I’ve noted a huge effort to indoctrinate people in rap community, the content creator community, and the celebrity gossip communities. I’ll let you guys draw your own conclusions as to why this is. I assume if you read this far you’re not dumb.
Once you’re stuck in their web it’s very difficult for most people to find their way back to society without seeing examples everywhere. I hope this is able to at least help one person who might be teetering on the edge of these rabbit holes. It’s not worth it and if I wasn’t sober and taking my meds, Id probably end up having a psychotic break. If you feel like you may be approaching that point you can still quit while you’re ahead.
Here are just a few of the things you can do to keep yourself from spiraling.
Take a step back for a while and focus on other things. Taking a hiatus from social media is crucial. If you can’t control yourself maybe detach from the news and internet entirely for a couple days. Even a long weekend can make a MASSIVE difference.
Try to get a good nights sleep and consider taking melatonin or an over the counter sleep aid.
Spend some time with friends or loved ones.
Eat some good, somewhat healthy, food and stay hydrated.
Try to get some sun and consider taking a walk or doing some other form of exercise.
Volunteer or do something to help your community if you want to continue working to benefit society.
Try to read a book or spend some time doing your favorite hobbies that aren’t related to any of the subjects I discuss below. Without further ado…
Ties Between Drake, Kendrick Lamar, and Violent Antigovernment Conspiracies
I recently saw an article about Bryshere Gray, a rappeactor best known for his role in Empire. He was born in Philadelphia and started rapping at 16. His manager Craig Mack, who facilitated his big break by getting him a role on the TV series Empire, is life long friends with Will Smith. Currently there are conflicting claims about whether he is currently suing or planning to sue Will Smith and P. Diddy for s. abusing him as a minor. It’s rumored he is trying to get 50 million dollars in damages. That number alone seems suspicious to me. That’s 20 million more than Cassie got and she dated and lived with Diddy for over a decade.
One of the other things I noticed off the jump was the fact that the only sources regarding the case were on social media along with one article on MSN, which is known for being a nest of clickbait journalism. Essentially they are the written version of gossip videos made by content creators. The only evidence I could find in these videos were a few short clips from his socials where is talking about the negative sides of fame and a clip of him on the red carpet with Will Smith. This might hint towards suppression, but I’m leaning toward this whole story being bullshit.
The only connection I found between him and Diddy is a song he did with 2 Chainz and Fabolous, the latter being signed to Bad Boy. He ended up getting signed to Columbia which falls under the Sony Music Entertainment while Bad Boy is under UMG. Considering these rumors came about a while back he hasn’t mentioned it at all as far as I know. Some might argue this could be a product of friction between labels or that he included Diddy because everyone knows he’s going down. On the other hand if he is a victims he may not have wanted his story told and doesn’t want to stoke the rumors by responding whether they’re true or not.
One of the biggest things that led me to question the validity of the claims is the fact that 90 percent of the sources I found were using a three minute clip from an interview with one of the top content creators on YouTube, I’ll call her J. At this point I’m 99 percent sure J is an opp, whether she knows it or not. She told his story in vivid detail accusing Will and Jada of luring young artists with promises of mentorship, then involving them in their bedroom activities.
It’s not really a stretch to think that Will might have a cuckold fetish and probably swings both ways. Two things that could ruin you in the 90’s, but neither or them could do more damage to their careers then they have already done by airing out intimate details of their relationship to the public. However the allegations involving minors are complete heresay. This leads me to believe these are just rumors from the 90’s updated to include modern conspiracy theories. J clearly also clearly has some homophobic tendencies, but uses her bisexuality as a pass to bash on most black gay men and even straight men who she claims to be gay. It’s all too obvious she still holds onto resentment over her career never taking off while a lot of the people she collaborated with turned into megastars which is a huge motivator for her content. She clearly still lives in the nineties when these type of allegations alone could seriously damage your career.
In Bryshere’s case, regardless if any of the details she shared were true, they shouldn’t have been aired to the public by anyone but Gray himself. This isn’t the first time J has leaked recordings, exploited, or stolen from victims she claimed to be advocating for. She has even doxxed victims by starting a women’s group for sa survivors and recording all their meetings. She eventually leaked some, claiming they were trying sabotage the group. When the rest found out or were threatened themselves, the group was quickly dissolved and covered up. Considering her track record it’s not unlikely that if true, she released Gray’s story after trying to ask for a payoff and not receiving it. Considering their is no evidence they’ve even met, it’s more likely she’s just reporting on local rumors considering her and Gray are both from Philly and now both live in the Dallas. It’s very important to look at J’s history to see the bigger picture here.
My theory is J was given permission to share her story detailing the dark side of the industry and promised protection if she also included certain details that they provided to her. If true, the motive could have been to help her home channel gain credibility and attract a large viewer base so they can manipulate the message. I believe these people do know some shit about some people, and they want to get out ahead and make sure they only go after their rivals.
I followed J, an up and coming influencer, to examine to see if I noticed any obvious agendas and stumbled upon a full blown conspiracy. I use as an example started with very levelheaded claims that were easy to digest and over the course of five years this influence lured in their viewers with insider knowledge that turned out to be true and by the end was spouting rumors that are easily traceable to certain movements that have been tied to antisemetism, anti LBGTQ, and violent ideologies. It started slow with a few buzzwords and before you knew it the comment sections had been taken over. She started by luring in the celebrity gossip community, specifically people over the age of 40, who treat gossip blogs like the gospel. It’s obvious why this community has been chosen as a target, and I’ve seen recently to rap community is not much better. I imagine whoever is orchestrating this campaign probably wasn’t expecting it to be this easy.
We very well may be witnessing a controlled takedown and the purpose usually is to take out any liabilities while painting their innocence. If a lot of sick people get outed for terrible crimes most people will assume the Feds weeded out all the bad seeds. It would be a public win for the FEDs and would address any criticism aimed at them and those in the industry who have been facing pressure to deal with these types of issues for at least 3 decades. It will also assuage a lot of the conspiracy communities who have been trying to bring light to these issues. I definitely believe the people they chose to take the rap are going to take the charges for all their co conspirators, so those close to them don’t catch any charges. This would be very important in a R.I.C.O. case.
After they’ve completed their mission and their message has been delivered they will then allow these messengers to continue to capitalize on their channel’s popularity. This way they could still manipulate to spread whatever they choose whenever it’s deemed it to be necessary, It probably won’t work too many times before people catch on. In they want to continue making content they can force them to dig up their old dirt. They could also easily provide them with a list of names they are and aren’t allowed to talk about. My guess is they know that most of them aren’t going to be able to find anything, and since they picked people willing to to say any thing for money, they know they will continue to do it with or without relevant information.
They could also continue aiding her in an effort to further the spread disinformation as a preemptive measure. They may threaten harm or violence if the view counts dip below a certain amount to prevent the messenger from self sabotaging in case they need to get their message to the massesIf in the future. If they do ever need them again to do the same thing or are themselves being targetted, they can use their messengers to discredit the facts about them and shine light on those who are leveling the allegations.
You may be wondering what if the enemy finds them and pays them more to doublecross their handlers? They can then use their messenger’s mental illness and paint them and their viewers as violent or mentally ill members of a disinformation cult and either blackmail them into retracting their claims or label them and their listeners as a disinformation cult that happened to be right about some things. Mental health issues can also help paint the narrative that the messenger is suicidal so they can take her out easier if needed. In the case of J it’s not out of the realm of possibility considering her recent struggle and probably played a big part in choosing her to be their mouth piece. since they can use her mental illness at any time to discredit her or create plausible deniability if any connection is made between them and they need to go to court to prove the opposite.
She’s such a wildcard their is no way they would’ve recruited her if they didn’t have an iron clad manipulation tactic with multiple failsafes in place. Usually threatening to kill someones entire family works just fine, but she doesn’t seem to be too worried about her families safety. This is why I think it’s the big labels going after their own artists because they know they’re probably going to get busted soon. Also studios rarely sign you and give you a good deal if they don’t have some type of dirt in case the artist to keep them in line, and use them for their own personal gains. They can also keep them from going after the messenger and better ensure their safety. If they had her go after another label’s artists they probably wouldn’t be able to cover all the bases when it comes to protection, which with J is necessary since she never has any security detail and constantly doxxes herself and her family on live.
While going though her interviews it became very clear to me something was very fishy off the rip. It became obvious after watching sections from all four of her main interviews that as time went on she began incorporating more and more lies and more and more ridiculous conspiracies into the narrative. For most people as soon as they hear a blatant lie they immediately write off anything coming from the source. Most people don’t do their own research so if the messenger tells a couple little white lies with a dramatic flair they can get away with it for a while. The more lies though the higher the chance of them getting called out and losing a portion of their audience as well as making any truth information that can’t be verified sound sketchy.
As I’ve said before J first two interviews do have a lot of verifiable claims, juxtaposed with her life story, and a few blatant lies. One thing I noticed is the majority of her allegations are against artists from her hometown in Philadelphia who were breaking into the industry around the same time as she was and managed to make their way to the top of their respective industries. Sadly neither of J’s two albums were well received and she lost her opportunity because of her combative personality mixed with major narcissism.
After her music career didn’t pan out she moved to Dallas, Texas to try to rebrand. After her son was murdered in 2018, similar to her career, her mental health took appeared to take a nosedive. Before the first interview in 2020, apparently rumors were floating around she was living out of cars and motels. She then met her husband who was ex-military and it seemed like he really built her up and helped her, possibly even writing the stories. In that first interview she accused multiple artists of mistreatment as well as assault. It went semi-viral and a good portion of the accused either provided evidence to contradict her or said the don’t want to go into it, and they seemed to know the situation and feel bad for her. The rapper Common, who she claimed had abused her even said he hopes she’s ok and wished her well. A lot of her fans took this and twisted them into him being guilty because he didn’t go off on a rant trying to claim his innocence and shit on J like they were expecting.
I belief either before or after the first interview got some attention she was contacted and either paid or blackmailed into doing another interview where she was fed information, some truth some lies, and told to mix it in to her life story. I also think her husband may have been one of her handlers. My suspicions stem from the fact that he popped up not long before the first interview and married her after like 3 weeks. I also noticed his way of speaking was also was very similar to J’s and he’d even use similar vocal inflections and speech patterns. They also displayed a lot of similar quirks. Another coincide is he claimed he was responsible for most of the technical support and played a huge part in establishing her online presence. He claimed to have learned everything in a day, and apparently people were shocked at how quickly he learned how to code websites and manage her accounts. A few weeks after getting married she had already made him a fifty/fifty partner for the a new television network she was promoting around the time, but was designed to steal peoples money.
She returned for a second interview in December 2022 and during her second video she mentioned Diddy and dropped a lot of information regarding his current case, his connections to many celebrities, and many specific details about their lives only an insider would have access to. Still there wasn’t much evidence to verify a good portion of her claims until Cassie filed her lawsuit a couple weeks later. I’m almost positive whoever is trying to bring Diddy to justice is connected to whoever is giving her all this info. During the interview J once again eloquently details the dark side of the industry.
Unfortunately her second interview was overshadowed by two separate incidents that both occurred only a few days later and were also caught on her live stream. First she was arrested at a Chicago airport for losing her mind at the security checkpoint. Not much longer after that during an apparent psychotic break, she was filmed in a barbershop parking lot abusing her husband then taking her sons ashes and throwing them her husband and his friends while acting like she was literally possessed. In a later interview she claimed to have Dissociate Identity Disorder from all the trauma and admitted that it was the cause of her psychotic breaks, which totally applies if someone was severely abused at a young age like she has claimed is the case. Eventually she was restrained by the police, strapped down, and tied to a stretcher.
After she got out of a mental hospital a couple days later, her and her soon to ex-husband did a couple separate interviews followed by one where they both discussed to situation together. Before the joint interview their original stories did not line up at all. From their description of events it’s obvious she was cheating and he seems intelligent enough to that, but instead claims the now leader of the Carbon Nation sex cult we’ll call Sol. According to their story he hypnotized her the first time they met and manipulated her into joining her and her husband on their planned weekend roadtrip after meeting in person for the first time. He also forced her into saying she wanted to kill her husband multiple times and letting him touch all over her while they were all in the car together. After that she went on and shared a painfully detailed description of the abuse she suffered as a child all they up until she left the industry. Not much longer after that her husband filed for divorce, further contributing to the spiral.
About three months ago she did another interview that clearly was made by someone else and was loaded with editing mistakes and long gaps without sound that are so muffled you can barely hear them. She also obvious took clips of the interviewer from previous interviews and pasted them together to form new questions and edited them in between her responses. This is also where her claims were all either recycled or included the wildest pizzagate rumors. Then as always she included them in her personal anecdotes so people feel bad for questioning her. The last interview I saw came out less than a week ago and it was even worse than the last and it seems like she’s now just shitposting and seeing how much she can get away with and sadly as expected most people are still eating it up out of the palm of their hand. People who literally worship these influencers like Gods.
Sorry for the giant tangent, but it seems obvious to me that the husband and the two interviewers were all working together. He dressed her up, got her sober and kept her on her meds so she could deliver these interviews. At the same time she was the one who agreed to literally sell her soul and I believe she conscientiously made the decision to scam others. I think everything with Sol was either planned by the three of them or at least the two men who both appeared randomly and were obviously both manipulators. They used their, “divorce,” to really kick things into overdrive and then either both left her there jobs were done. In my humble opinion it’s more likely that they are all mentally ill, desperate for money, and playing roles that were assigned to them for a very specific purpose. I’m almost positive the whole marriage was a sham to help contribute to the narrative that everything in the first two videos was true, until she lost her mind because of the DID, PTSD, and stress.
The last thing I’ll mention before getting back to Bryshere Gray is how I found it interesting that she chose a DID diagnosis. Bipolar used to be a big one, but most people these days know at least one person with it, and it’s easier to tell when people are faking. DID and BPD are the trendy ones now because they aren’t as well understood and easier to fake or play up for the camera. The large numbers of people obviously faking their symptoms, based off the symptoms of some influencer who is also faking. This makes it very difficult to know what’s . It’s also commonly brought up in more radical conspiracy groups as being part of the satanic agenda or brainwash people. I think they were intentionally trying to attract people who would get anything related to the movement send to the deep corners of the internet where those types tend to hide.
This all leads me to the wildest connection of the story. In 2015, when Gray joined Columbia Records, he was signed alongside his future Empire costar Jussie Smollett who ended up playing his older brother. For those who don’t know or remember in 2019, Jussie Smollett was found guilty of staging a hate crime against himself somewhere around the 4th season of he show. The expensive investigation revealed the motivation was political after revealing Michellle Obama’s form chief of staff reached out to Smollett’s lawyer and requested the case be handed over to the FBI. His lawyer then forward the request to Chicago’s Superintendent who approved the request and the case was dropped. After a massive uproar, pitting democrats and republicans against each other, he was resentenced in December 2019 and to this day his legal defense team is still trying to drag out the case so the prosecutor just drops the charges and they don’t have to admit guilt. (If interested the Wikipedia article sums up the whole thing very well.)
Up until his arrest for domestic violence over three years ago where he was caught multiple times lying to the police in his interview, he was found guilty. Seemingly overnight his career tanked and he essentially disappeared and clearly seemed to be dealing with some mental health issues. I find it interesting that after four years of silence he’s just deciding to come out now, and if this case is real in the first place I wonder if anyone is going to draw all these connections.
Aside from Smollett and Gray, the cast list attached to the TV series Empire reveals a lot of connections to a lot of high powered figures with strange connections to this whole conspiracy. A good example of one of these connections is Terrence Howards’s character, a top record label president named Lucious. After skimming the first season’s plot points, some appeared to be directly based on attributes commonly associated with Diddy.
When I looked a little deeper I found that Howard, who also originates from Philadelphia, was cast as the lead actor on the show, while still finding the time to deliver his infamous guest lectures around the world. The main focus of the lectures was discussing the theory he hypothesized which he appropriately named, “Terryology.” This came after being blacklisted from the industry for nearly seven years prior for beating up a crew member and being convicted of multiple domestic violence charges. After the incident with the crew member in 2008, it was revealed Howard had been replaced by Don Cheadle in the sequel to his last hit movie, Iron Man.
Around the same time in 2008, he also signed a record deal with no other than Columbia Records. This came a few years before his infamous on screen sons joined a the same label years later. This can definitely be connected to Howard’s relationship with Gray’s manager Charlie Mack. Some other people who made guest appearances on the show include Naomi Campbell, Cassie, Cuba Gooding Jr, and Mary J. Blige.
The creator of the show Lee Daniel’s, the popular democratic activist whose connections go all the way up to the Obama’s, Oprah, and the Clintons. (Before I go any further, please don’t go down this rabbit hole much further, and to the people who use these type of stories to promote their agendas and spark even more political discord. Now more then ever we need to reel in both the far left and far right and meet as close to the middle as possible or else both candidates are going to continue to be worse every election. Please keep any comments politically neutral. I hate both candidates and I’m simply making connections and could care less who wins the upcoming election.
I think what we’re seeing now regarding Drake, Kendrick, Diddy, and people like Bryshere Gray and J and other influencers and content creators are all be used as weapons to distract people from something major going down and the fact that it’s only getting crazier every day, it appears whatever I’m referring to is yet to come, but won’t be long. Please keep all of this in mind before you start trying to research subjects like these. You may realize that some of the ideologies that have been chastised and tied to violence have been saying these types of things for years, and most of their evidence has been proven already or align with everything we’re seeing.
The paid protestors at Columbia is another example of political theater. Here is where people make the connection to Semetism and where most subscribers theories go off the fucking rails. Just because a lot of these things can be tied to Israel and Jewish Americans, a lot of people like to blame them for all the worlds problems, what they don’t realize is most of this stems from cultural traditions and generational wealth that was gained through hard work and promotion of high education. This has resulted in the majority of Jewish Americans holding more wealth than the average Christian household and most if this stems purely from jealousy and fucking Hitler. This is why the majority of people who go all in on these types of theories don’t have any further education than a high school diploma.
I know this doesn’t make them all dumb, but even a lot of very intelligent people like Ye and other major public figures got sucked into these communities without realizing they were part of the same agenda they were trying to expose. That’s how you end up with Ye saying he loves Hitler in a public interview and promoting Trump for president and supporting the fucking, “white lives matter,” movement along with the Candace Owen, the republicans answer to AOC. Even people with more formal education and fewer biases can and have been successfully targeted by these communities. It’s been shown time and time again that many of these recruiters who have been in their respective communities since their inception usually end up end reaching the same conclusions and the more people there are to confirm your beliefs or suspicions, the more likely it is you’ll accept everything else in they say as true. (This is a very similar conclusion the one I reached in my essay about J).
My belief is someone from the same circle that J was in during her singing career are the same people who reached out to Katt Williams and other blacklisted artists with long recorded histories of mental illness and substance abuse problems to lie by omission and allowing them to release preselected pieces of evidence without repercussions. They could easily know what information the Feds were able to acquire. They then had her leak those details to the public so when the details to come out it makes she can work with the Feds and dismiss any other allegations even if they are true. Obviously it won’t determine the outcome, but it can definitely go a long way in making sure certain details of the defendant choosing can be struck from the record if the evidence isn’t good enough.
At this point I’m a 99 percent sure Diddy is the one pulling the strings behind the Kendrick and Drake beef. I believe that Al B. Sure! was planing to release all the info he had on Diddy in 2022, but may have been poisoned beforehand similar to theories about Diddys’s ex wife Kim Porter who was originally married to Kim before Diddy stole her away along with Al’s son, also Diddy’s stepson Quincy. Diddy has also been directly tied to the murders or mysterious deaths of at least a half a dozen more people who were close associates from the beginning of his career and were key players in the formation of Bad Boy. Coincidentally many of the victims had either exposed or were threatening to expose evidence related to all of these crimes. They are also using Keefe D. to take the charge for 2Pacs murder so he can spin the story and leave out and ties to Diddy who ordered the hit or did it himself.
Unfortunately for Diddy, unlike the rest of the people he had successfully silenced in the past, his dirt ended up coming out right around when Al ended up coming out of his coma and I think it’s likely that if my theory is correct he released all the info he had on Diddy. He even may have hinted in an interview at him being responsible for him falling into a coma. After he came out of the coma Diddy knew he was about to go down and before the raid he destroyed and staged all of his homes with evidence that would verify all the claims related to other celebrities over the age of 18. Meanwhile he got rid of all the videos involving murder, sa, child abuse, bestiality and other evidence that would bring major charges.
This is so he can cooperate with the Feds and help reduce his sentence. If he hid all the evidence they would know and work overtime to find it. Instead he lied by omission and corroborated the accusations that won’t completely destroy him. He can then release all his dirt to seem like he made all the blackmail with the intention of bringing down known predators who were able to get away with the same things he’s guilty of.
In the video of Diddy in the wig, he talks about partying with Drake and The Weekend and I believe he was able to acquire the blackmail. He then released the blackmail to selected people to ensure they leak at the appropriate time. The plan is to publicly out Drake for sex crimes so the rest of Hollywood knows not to testify against him. During the auction mentioned by ebony prince they are going to auction off all the dirt Diddy has collected the last 30 years. This includes dirt on Trump, which may be the reason behind all of this. The auction is four days after Election Day and will be used as a fail safe in case Trump wins the election.
When people who already have even the slightest political biases and less formal education, it can be very difficult to look at these things and not choose a side. This is their agenda to promote centrism and split the left and right even further to promote chaos and anarchy. I advise anyone who identifies as democrat or republican to be extremely cautious when exploring these topics and watch out for the type of things I mentioned. If the information is specifically pointed towards whichever party you identify with, they are trying to suck you in and fill your head with their beliefs.

Clearly people don’t want to actually think for themselves and are just trying to shut down any theory that contradicts their own. Y’all need to stop trying to disprove shit that actually promotes alternative ideas. This is exactly why this community was created. You don’t have to agree with everything, but if you see anything of interest you can do some more research if you’re interested if not just move on and mind your business. Speculation: The whistling is synonymous with Omar and is to the tune of a nursery rhyme, "the farmer in the dell", anyone that watched The Wire would know instantly that this means Omar is coming and this means you best get out the way as he is coming with his double-barreled shotgun and he certainly won't hesitate to use it. The Kingsmen scene where they are locked in the pub is a particularly violent scene and it's an interesting film to reference, the plot *Film spoiler here* is essentially about a boy named Eggsy from a lower-class neighbourhood who's father dies and he finds out that his father was part of an elite inner circle of upper class. After trying to be part of this group, Eggsy discovers their secret plot to take over the world and takes it into his own hands to save the day. u/ ThePhenomNoku talks about the last 2 referenced films; "So the anime is demon slayer. It’s about a kid who has everything taken from him and trains to learn how to fight demons. Though as a sidenote he kind of carries one around with him. It’s complicated.The other movie with the guy holding the person, & the fight scene is the original Oldboy, and without giving too much of the plot away it’s about a dude who is falsely imprisoned for a couple of years or so, and then enacts his revenge."

Speculation: In Oceans 11 there was a lot of planning and variables that had to happen for everything to work. It was a high risk high reward plan with a lot set up to go against but it's possible. The target has always been "just up", DFV just reiterating what he said in the first place.

Speculation: Of course with the loophole stuff it could be about all of the DD that has been done on what has gone on over the years but it could equally be about SHFs finding loopholes to get out of the mess they are in with the stock. The second part the judges clearly don't feel the attempt of the cheerleading or gymnastics piece they are portraying is any good but they are giving it a go and it's suppose to a comedy. Note the school is the cougars, cat links again of course.

Take from that what you will.

Then a few cuts of Scream and how real squeeze movies have meta slasher whodunnits and that to some people the original is their favorite thing in the world
Speculation: A requel is A movie which revisits the subject matter of an earlier film but is not a remake or a linear continuation of its plot (i.e. a sequel or prequel). So essentially what is happening right now with the stock is not exactly the same of what has happened before but it is essentially a revisit of the same subject regarding squeezes. A mid squeeze implies that it wasn't as high as the squeeze could have gone and the theme of slashers and murdered people really suggests heads will roll (SHFs hopefully).

Speculation: Time is running out for the bear, they can hang around for a while longer but they will be the victim. This is more of the DFV is coming for you as he dresses himself up as a rampaging murderer targeting the bear in this case. Not sure on the bee, whether that is DFV just having some fun or if it's that a sting is coming in some sense.

Description: Taken from No Country for Old Men, Carson states he is a day trader and that Anton doesn't have to do this (Anton is going to kill him) tell him he could just go home. Carson continues that Anton could have 14 grand out of an ATM and just walk away before finally stating "do you have any idea how crazy you are?". Anton replies, "you mean the nature of these memes?" to which Carson says "I mean the nature of you!" The scene ends with the phone ringing.
Speculation: DFV putting himself into the mode of Anton from No Country for Old Men is quite the statement. For those who haven't seen this movie, Anton is a wrecking ball of a killer and adheres by his rulebook to seek out different people through the movie to take out. Carson being the desperate short seller here who is not understanding why DFV isn't just playing by the usual financial rules and taking his gains and going. The phone ringing at end could be an implication of margin calls ringing for the desperate short seller.

Speculation: This is the first direct reference to Gamestop word for word and it should be noted that this is the scene where William Wallace is about to be executed. Could mean that DFV is willing to risk it all for Gamestop like William Wallace martyring himself for the freedom of Scotland.

The Mortgage, Part 3
“Fuck,” I said as I drove to work in the old beater that only started on the fourth try because it could tell that I was pissed off. Ray’s case started at two o’clock, and I was heading to the office to get ready. “Fuck fuck fuckity fucking fuck. Fuck.” I’d wanted to tell Angela about Ray’s case, and how I was sorry that I hadn’t wanted to help him, but now I would, I would help him, and I would win, but then I’d gotten her all riled up on something else, something totally different, something way more serious.
My wife had given me a triple ultimatum: fix things up with her father, save idiot Ray from Sy-Co Corp., and somehow find a downpayment for the place she wanted to buy, in the little townhouse infill project in Bixity. It was like demanding I do a double bank shot, and then run over to the baseball diamond and hit a home run after first pointing to where it would land, Babe Ruth style.
Angela was mad at me, seriously mad. She’d slipped out that morning before I was even awake, sliding quietly past me on the couch. I didn’t realize she was gone until I heard the faint click of the front door closing. I jumped up, tripped over a blanket, and by the time I got up and my robe on, the elevator down the hall dinged, and Angela was gone before I opened the apartment door.
I swore at myself some more and pounded the steering wheel, “I fucked up,” I said, several times as I hit the wheel over and over again, until I accidentally honked it, and then looked all sheepish when the guy in front of me gave me the finger. I reached my office without further incident, but instead of walking in the front door, I went further down the hall, and into the office of Mark Cecil-Rowe, Barrister, LL.D, the man with the finest speaking voice I ever heard. When I entered his office I forgot for a minute about Angela and her father and sleeping on the couch the night before. I forget about everything, except the reason that I had come to Cecil-Rowe’s office: to stump him with a legal problem that I had solved, but which I was pretty sure he could not. In other words, I had come to preen and to brag and to boast. No one likes a showoff, and I had come to show off. I put my hand on the door and turned the knob. After a brief pause, I flung open the door.
“I’m a goddamn genius,” I said as I strolled into the older man’s office.
I noticed the echo of a hastily closed desk drawer hanging in the air. In Aaron’s office, where I rented space, a sudden act of concealment implied cocaine, but with Cecil-Rowe, the item in question was probably a mickey of vodka. I had the sense that he’d been drinking a bit before I arrived, but his powers of observation were unimpaired, and when he looked into my face, his expression showed sympathy, and actual pain.
“What have you done now?” he said, as set the papers before him to one side, and readied himself to hear my latest tale of legal brilliance.
“I’m a genius,” I said.
“Oh dear. Have a seat.”
“No really, I am. I’m a genius. I got this case that everyone says you can’t win, but I’m gonna win it, and when I do, I’m gonna look like a genius.” Cecil-Rowe gave me a sad indulgent smile.
“Whenever you tell me you’re a genius, I am always concerned about what is to follow. When you get wrapped up in what you call your genius, you tend to ignore the more mundane things we lawyers have to do to win a case. You think you’re going to win by genius alone.”
“Let me tell you why I’m a goddamn genius.” With effort I wiped the smug, self-satisfied expression that was on my face.
“Tell me why you’re a genius,” Cecil-Rowe said, “while I pour us a coffee.” He heaved his bulky body up from his chair and shuffled over to a counter. He picked up a carafe of hot coffee sitting on a hot plate, and poured two cups. “Speak,” he said, handing me one. I took a sip of the coffee, and told Cecil-Rowe the tale of Cousin Ray: his purchase of a franchise from Sy-Co Corp, its swift demise, the crash and burn in Commercial Court, the Minutes of Settlement, the seventy-one kilometer limit, and lastly, Sy-Co’s motion scheduled for two p.m. that very day, seeking an interim injunction shutting down Ray’s place.
Cecil-Rowe absorbed all this without the need to take notes. Instead, he sat back while he eyed me, taking the occasional sip of coffee, and smiling at the extravagant flourishes and details that brought out Ray’s story to full effect.
“Obviously Ray is dead on arrival,” he said, “but I guess this is the part where you tell me how you’re going to win.”
So I told him how I was going to win, but it didn’t have the desired effect. “I told ya I’m a genius, Mr. C,” cueing him to applaud, to admit what a brilliant lawyer I was. But there was no applause from Mark Cecil-Rowe. He looked at me without so much as a smile.
“You can cling to that genius notion as a consolation prize, after you get whipped this afternoon in court.”
“No way,” I said, “not a chance. I got this thing won hands down. I’m gonna kick ass in court today and--”
“And how exactly do you plan to do that, if you don’t have evidence?”
“What?”
“Evidence, Calledinthe9os. It’s what lawyers like me use to beat geniuses like you.”
“But I’m gonna win without proof. I don’t need proof. The argument I’m gonna make, relies on simple facts that are totally obvious, so the judge is gonna--” Cecil-Rowe stuck up his hand.
“Stop right there. I know what’s coming. You’re going to ask the judge to take *judicial notice.”
And he was right. That was exactly what I was going to do.
There are some things so obvious that you didn’t have to prove them, things that everyone knew. You didn’t have to prove that water froze at zero degrees and boiled at a hundred, or that Bixity was between West Bay and East Bay.
“You got it,” I said, “judicial notice all the way.”
“You’re going to tell the judge that the centerpiece of your argument, the lynchpin of your case is a fact known to pretty well everyone, and so you don’t need proof.”
“Exactly,” I said. Cecil-Rowe took another sip of his coffee, and left me hanging in the silence for a while before he spoke.
“If that’s true, then why does coming up with that argument make you a genius?”
“Oh, I said,”I didn’t think of that.”
“It is acceptable to rely on judicial notice for minor, ancillary points. But you never should walk into court thinking that the court will take judicial notice of your entire defence. It’s just too risky.”
“But how am I going to rustle up a witness in time for this afternoon?”
“Worry about that after you leave my office. I can’t help you with that. What I want to know, is why you’re doing this at the last minute.”
“What makes you think I’m doing this at the last minute?”
“Because you never would have resorted to judicial notice if you were properly prepared. If you’d opened this case a bit earlier, you’ve have everything lined up. But you got to work on it late, and so you want to rely on judicial notice. You’ve messed up, Calledinthe90s, and you know what my rule is when you mess up.” Cecil-Rowe didn’t extend aid to me, until I admitted the error of my ways. It was infuriating, but he was inflexible. So I fessed up.
“My idiot cousin Ray’s been trying to retain me for almost two weeks, but I was putting him off because I was mad at him. So now my wife’s mad at me, and if I don’t win this case, I’m dead. Plus her dad’s mad at me too and --” My brain roared into overdrive, a mess of family and law and fear, and at the centre of it, thoughts of Angela’s anger and her father. My mind took off, and then came to an instant halt at a helpful destination.
“Yes?” Cecil-Rowe said.
“Sorry. I just realized how to solve the evidence problem. Look, can I ask you about the thing I actually came here to ask you about?”
“You have a problem that’s worse than having no evidence? What could be worse than -- oh. You don’t have a retainer. Your client doesn't have any money.”
“Exactly. How do I get paid? That’s the problem.” I explained that Ray had no money, as in none, and that if he did have money, he wouldn’t spend it on me. Instead, he’d go back downtown and throw his cash at some big firm, who would take on his case, and proceed to lose it in a calm, careful, sober manner, ending in a reporting letter to Ray telling him that he’d lost.
“Now that’s a problem I can solve,” Cecil-Rowe said.
“Really? ‘Cause I can’t see a way around it. I think I’m gonna have to do this for free, and that really pisses me off.” Cecil-Rowe shook his head.
“You may or may not get paid, but you can set things up so that if you win, you’ll win pretty good.”
“How? Ray’s a deadbeat. Tapped out.”
“But is he desperate?”
“Totally. The first time he failed, he lost his own money, but if he goes under this time, he’s taking family money with him, and he’ll be the black sheep forever.”
“And he’s using family to emotionally blackmail you into helping him?’
“Like no shit. That’s the part that pisses me off the most. I’m like a goddamn slave, being forced to work for free.”
“Never fear, young apprentice. I have just the thing in mind.” He reached into a drawer, and pulled out a form. “Fill in the blanks, and have him sign.”
I looked it over, and saw that the document was a retainer agreement. I whistled. “Holy shit. If he signs this, he’s almost my slave.”
“Close, but not quite” Cecil-Rowe said, “the Latin term for this is "contractus pro venditione animae"”. It’s the ultimate retainer agreement. Once Ray signs that, you own any cause of action he has against the person suing him. You can settle the case on any terms you like, and you get to keep whatever proceeds there are.” Cecil-Rowe placed the folder back in a drawer, and from his manner you could tell that the interview was over.
“Awesome, Mr. C. I’ll call you from Commercial Court when we’re done.”
“Commercial Court?” he said.
“Yeah, Commercial Court.”
“This just keeps getting worse. Take notes, Calledinthe90s, while I school you on Commercial Court. Commercial Court is a jungle, and without preparation, you’ll get savaged.”
“That’s what happened to Ray when--”
“Take notes, young apprentice,” he said, tossing me a pad and a pen. He started to lecture, and I took notes that I have with me to this day, in a safe deposit box downstairs in the vault at Mega Bank Main Branch.

By the time Cecil-Rowe finished schooling me, it was close to ten, and the case started at two. I didn’t have much time. I ran down the hall to my office, and called Ray’s restaurant. No answer. Then I called Ray’s house. I expected to get Ray’s wife, but the man himself answered.
“You’re not at work. Why aren’t you at work?”
“Sy-Co Corp served all my employees with a cease and desist letter. They all got scared and took off. The place is shut down.”
“You gotta fax machine at home?” He did, and asked why.
“I’m taking your case, but only if you sign the paper I’m about to send and fax it back.” I sent the fax, and five minutes later it came back signed, and it was official: Ray had sold me his legal soul.
I went out to the parking lot, got into my beater and drove fast. In less than thirty minutes I reached my destination. I knocked on the door, and when it opened, my diminutive mother-in-law poked out her head. “What a pleasant surprise,” she said.
“Sorry, Mrs. M, but I’m in a super hurry. I gotta rush to get to court to help Ray. But first, I gotta speak to Dr. M.”
“He’s not here,” she said.
“Not here?”
“He’s on his way to his bridge game. He left just a few minutes ago.”
“Where’s the club?”
“He’s walking there,” she said, and pointed down the street.
“Thanks.” I got into my car and headed where Mrs. M had pointed, passing big houses and new project with an “Opening Soon” sign. And walking past it was the figure of Dr. M.
“Hey, Dr. M,” I called out the window. He stopped and looked around, startled. But he didn’t see me, not at first.
“It’s me, Dr. M. Me, Calledin90s.” He leaned forward as if to see me better. I got out of the car.
“Is something wrong with Angela? Or the baby?”
“No, no not at all, sorry to scare you, it’s nothing like that. I need your help.”
“Oh.” He started walking again, and now it was my turn to be a bit stunned, watching my father-in-law walk away from me. I caught up with him in a few quick strides.
“Listen, I really need your help.”
“And I really need to get to a bridge game.”
“This isn’t about me. It’s about Ray.” That brought him to a halt. He turned to me, angrier even than he’d been the night before.
“Did you drive all the way out here just to make fun of me? To remind me of how you won, distracting me with nonsense about Ray’s case?”
“I mean it,” I said, “I can win Ray’s case. I can prove it in a few words.”
“Prove it, then.” So I did. I spoke words, only a few words, but they were the right words to speak to Dr. M, for the words I spoke were in his language, words that he understood perfectly.
“I understand,” he said, “you’ve come to boast some more, to prove that you were right after all.”
“I want to win Ray’s case, but I don’t have any proof of what I’m saying.”
“You don’t need to prove that two plus two is four.”
“This, I gotta prove, and I need you to help me prove it. I need you to come to court with me, as my witness.”
“I can’t do that. I didn’t witness anything.”
“As my witness. My expert witness.” Unlike a normal witness, an expert witness can give an opinion. An expert is there not to advocate, I explained to Dr. M but to instruct, to teach.
“My bridge partner won’t be very happy,” he said.
“But Ray will, and so will Mrs. M and Angela and--”
“Very well. Do you have a cell phone? We can call the bridge club from my car.”

We were on the highway getting close to the downtown exit, when my wife called my cell phone. Back then cell phone service was super expensive and my wife only used it for emergencies. Or when she was really angry. I picked up the phone, wondering which it would be.
“I’m so happy that you made things up with my father,” she said.
“How did you know?”
“My mother called. She says you took him with you, that you went out together.”
“He’s with me right now,” I said.
“Where are you going?”
“To court. Going to court to win Ray’s case for him.”
“And you brought my father with you to watch?” She was so happy, I could hear in her voice that she was smiling. “That’s a great way to bond with him, Calledinthe90s. Look, I’m sorry I got so mad at you earlier, I really am. My dad’s a bit too sensitive and--”
“Sorry, Angela, your dad’s not coming to watch me.”
“Why is he with you, then?”
“He’s my witness,” I said.
“What?”
“His expert witness,” Dr. M said, loudly enough for Angela to hear.
My wife’s anger exploded into the phone. She wanted to know how I could expose her elderly, vulnerable father to the stress of a court case. I tried to tell her how I needed him, how there was literally no one else I could turn to, that her father was an expert, a true expert, and the judge was legally bound to believe him, but Angela heard none of this.
“Look,’ I said, “I promise you that--” And then I lowered the phone and pushed the red button, terminating the call. I’d learned that the best way to hang up on someone, was to do it when I was doing the talking. That way it looked like the call had dropped.
“I’m going to steal that move,” Dr. M said.
We rolled into the parking lot. I grabbed the cloth bag out of the back of my car, the bag that held my law robes and shirt and tabs, plus the other stuff I needed for court. It was one-thirty, still thirty minutes to go, not a lot of time to get robed and ready for court. It was just past one-forty five when I, with Dr. M in tow, opened the door to a courtroom on the eighth floor of an old insurance building that had been converted into a courthouse, the home of Commercial Court.
“Commercial Court is an exclusive club,” Cecil-Rowe had explained to me earlier that day, “the legal playground of the rich and powerful. They’ll know instantly that you’re not one of them.” And he was right. It was clear from the moment I walked in that I did not belong, for I was the only lawyer in robes. Everyone else was wearing a suit, and not some cheap thing off the rack like I wore.
There were a half-dozen lawyers present, and after they saw me, they exchanged knowing looks about the stranger amongst them. I ignored them, and walked up to the Registrar. I told him the case I was on, and he signed me in.
“First time in Commercial Court?” he said, eyeing my robes. “You know you don’t have to be robed in Commercial Court.” In other Superior Courts, you always had to bring your robes and get all dressed up. But Commercial Court had its own set of rules, and in the court for rich people, their lawyers did not have to wear robes.
“You’re here on the Sy-Co case?” a young woman asked. She was a junior like me, give a year or two either way. She was dressed in the finest downtown counsel fashion, some designer thing that Angela would know if she saw it.
“Just got retained,” I said.
“You know there’s no adjournments, right? We don’t do adjournments in Commercial Court. I’m just trying to be helpful, because I don’t think you've been here before. You know you don’t have to be robed, right?
“So I heard.”
“So where’s your material? You haven’t served anything, so how do you plan to argue your case?”
“I gotta witness,” I said.
She smiled. “There’s no viva voce evidence, either. Affidavit only.”
“We’ll see what the judge says.” There was a knock from the other side of the door to the judge’s chambers, and then the man himself entered.
I was amazed to see that even the judge wasn’t wearing a robe; instead, he was wearing a light coloured suit and a bright blue bow tie. He was dressed as good as the lawyers, all part of the downtown Commercial Court club, the playground of the richest and most powerful corporations in the City.
“Commercial Court’s not like other courts,” Cecil-Rowe told me earlier that day, explaining that most cases were over in fifteen minutes or less. A plaintiff showed up with some papers, and had a short consultation with the judge. The judge signed an order granting an injunction, or taking away a man’s business, or freezing his money. Commercial Court is where you went to get quick and simple court orders that eviscerated your opponent before the case even got going.
Defendants would appear sometimes in Commercial Court, Cecil-Rowe explained, but it was usually their last time up. Defendants always died a quick death in Commercial Court.
The judge took his seat, and then looked over the lawyers before him. His eyes moved along, and then stopped when they reached me, the one lawyer who was not like the others.
“You don’t need robes in Commercial Court,” the judge said to me.
“I’ll remember that for next time,” I said.
“What case are you on?”
I told him.
“He’s filed no responding materials,” my opponent said, “nothing at all.”
“I’m just vetting the list,” the judge said, “I’ll circle back to you two in a few minutes.” I listend while the judge vetted the rest of the afternoon list: a Mareva, plus a Norwich order, with counsel on those cases sent away in a matter of minutes.
Now the courtroom was almost empty, just the judge, two lawyers, the registrar and my star witness and father-in-law, Dr. M, who sat in the back of the courtroom dressed in an old business suit, put on hastily at his place two hours earlier, when I urged him to hurry it up, to not waste so much time on picking a suit.
“Back to you,” the judge said, addressing my opponent, “I thought this was an uncontested matter. That’s what your confirmation sheet said.”
“I’m sorry, Your Honour, but I didn’t know until I got here that the case was defended.”
“I got retained at the last minute,” I said, “barely three hours ago, the day after I read the papers. But I’m ready to go, ready to argue the case on the merits, so long as you grant me an indulgence, and let me call my witness, to let him testify in person instead of by affidavit, there being no time for me to draft anything.”
Opposing counsel was on her feet. “That’s not how things are done in Commercial Court,” she said, “or any court that I know of, for that matter. My friend (that’s what they make lawyers call each other in court, ‘my friend,’ even though you might hate the other guy’s guts),” the lawyer said, “my friend should have served his responding materials and filed them with the court. Instead, he’s taken us totally by surprise.”
“I’m sorry my friend is surprised by opposition,” I said, “but then consider, it’s my client’s livelihood that’s at stake. If my friend gets her injunction, Ray Telewu’s business is dead, and he loses everything. So yes, my client opposes the injunction, and yes, I’d like to call evidence.”
The judge didn’t consult the papers before him nor the books, but instead, he looked up at the big white clock on the courtroom wall. Its hands said two-fifteen.
“How long will your witness take, counsel?”
“In chief, ten minutes.” I’d practiced with Dr. M on the way in, and I was pretty sure he could do it in five, but I gave him a bit of extra time, just in case.
“We’ve got about two hours,” the judge said, “but I want to be fair to you and your client. Let’s take a fifteen minute recess so you can get instructions. Either we go ahead today with viva voce evidence, or we adjourn, and that will give Calledinthe90s time to file responding materials.”
When everyone came back, the junior’s boss was there, Senior Counsel, a heavy weight, one of those big guys downtown. Plus they brought this guy from Sy-Co Corp, the head of some bullshit division, with some bullshit title, Head of whatever, so that’s the title I’ll give him here. He was The Head. He was the man, the big cheese, the signer of the affidavit on which Sy-Co relied that day.
“What’s he doing here?” I asked Senior Counsel.
He stared at me, all lean and steel grey, looking every inch the hard hitting lawyer that commanded the biggest fees. “If you’re calling a live witness, then so can we. The Head will give evidence today, in advance of your client, so that the judge hears it from him first.” His junior smirked at me, and the two of them sat down, delighted that they’d thought of a way to one up me.
Except that they’d done it by exposing their client to cross-examination. The judge came in, allowed the Head to testify, and when he was done, I stood up.
“Just a few questions,” I said. Senior Counsel was stunned for an instant, and then he stood.
“This serves no purpose, Your Honour. The witness has confirmed the simple facts of his affidavit, and there’s no disputing it. Ray Telewu opened a restaurant less than seventy-one kilometres from Bixity City Hall, and that’s in breach of the Minutes of Settlement he signed.”
I did not bother to respond. Instead, I just stood, and I started to ask questions.
“Have a look at that map in your affidavit,” I said, and he did. I picked up my copy, and tore the map out of it. I passed it up to him.
“What do you notice about this map?”
“That it’s accurate,” the Head said, repeating his evidence in chief, amplifying it, talking about how the map contained perfect measurement.
“You will notice that the map is flat,” I said, laying it on the witness box before him.
“Of course it’s flat. That’s what maps are. Maps are flat.”
“But the earth is round,” I said, “or more properly, a sphere.” Senior Counsel was on his feet in an instant.
“What difference does that make?” he said.
“What you’ll hear from my expert witness, is that a flat map cannot accurately show Earth’s curves. A flat map distorts distances, and in this case, reduces them.”
“But that can’t be by very much.”
“In this case, by just over twenty meters,” Dr. M said from the back of the court.
“That’s my expert witness, the esteemed Dr. M.” I didn’t actually say Dr. M. Instead, I said his real name. But I’m not going to use the real names of my family here, so I’ll just keep calling him Dr. M. “Dr. M was a professor of Physics at the University of Bixity for almost thirty years. He has published numerous papers on particle physics, and is the first Canadian winner of the Wolf Prize for physics.”

It went downhill after that for Sy-Co Corp. My father-in-law testified, explaining in simple language, language that even a child could understand, that the Earth was a sphere, that the shortest distance between two points on Earth was a curve, not a straight line. He summarized his calculations in plain English, dumbing down the math, so that everyone present imagined, if only for the moment, that they shared his understanding of a difficult mathematical equation.
Senior Counsel tried to cross-examine Dr. M, but it did not go well, my father-in-law indulging him, gently chiding him, continuing his explanations until the lawyer sat down, defeated by Dr. M’s mastery of the subject,his own lack of preparation and his inability to improvise. When counsel said that he had no further questions, the judge addressed us all.
“I’m not going to reserve, and I don’t think I need to tell everyone why. I think it will take about a minute for me to write a decision saying that the Earth is not flat. I’ll give you some more time after that, but after fifteen minutes, I”ll be back to render my decision.” He rose, everyone bowed, and he disappeared behind the door to judge’s chambers.
I pulled a piece of paper out of my file, and slammed it on the desk before Senior Counsel and his junior. “Fill in the blanks, and sign,” I said.
Dr. M’s head shot up at the commotion, and he shuffled over to see what was going on.
“What’s this?” Senior Counsel said, picking up the paper I gave him..
“Minutes of Settlement. You fill in a number, a big number, for the costs you gotta pay me. Your client signs, and then we’re done.” Senior Counsel opened his mouth to bargain, but I overrode him.
“You know your client’s going to lose; the judge made that obvious. Hurry up if you want to settle; we don’t have much time.”
At the end of most Canadian court cases, the loser has to pay at least part of the winner’s legal fees. That’s the way it’s been since forever, and I think it’s a good rule. Sy-Co Corp had lost, so it had to pay a good chunk of Ray’s costs, and Ray’s costs were somewhere between whatever bullshit figure I claimed they were, and where they actually ought to be. Senior Counsel took the paper over to his client. There was a brief discussion, and then they came back, with the form signed, and a number written in the blank space.
I’ll give it to Sy-Co Corp and their lawyer. It wasn’t a bullshit number, a low ball number. They gave me a real number, a number more like something I’d actually accept, a number that made sense to pay me in costs, in light of the success I’d had, and how I got it. It was a respectful number, a common sense number, and I appreciated it an awful lot.
I tossed the paper back at them.
“Add a zero,” I said, continuing on when Senior Counsel blanched, and his junior retreated a step. “I know what’s going on here. Your client sold mine a bullshit franchise, one with a history of failing.” The franchise had opened up again under a new owner not long after Ray had lost it and then it promptly failed again. Like I said at the start of this story, it’s an old story. It’s how some franchise companies make money. “Your client makes more money selling bullshit franchises doomed to fail, then it does from the honest ones that make money. So add a zero to that number, or Ray’s gonna sue you, class action and all that, for all the people you’ve fucked.”
The Head stepped forward from the benches and spoke to me.
“We get threats like that all the time, but no one follows through. They don’t have the money to fight us, and neither does your client. So go ahead and sue.”
“It’s true that Ray doesn’t have jack shit,” I said, “not a pot to piss in, but he’s my cousin, Ray is, and even if he doesn’t have money, he’s got me. Ray’s family, and for Ray, I’ll sue you guys for free. Hell, I’ll even pay the expenses. Plus I’m gonna put a jury notice in, too, come to think of it, ‘cause juries--”
Senior Counsel cut me off, and moved his client to the back of the courtroom. There was a brief discussion, and then they came back. I watched as Senior Counsel wrote a single digit on the Minutes, a zero, written right where I wanted it.
“You’ll have to initial the change,” I said to the Head of Sy-C0, and it gave me great satisfaction to watch him sign.
“Don’t forget,” I said the moment his pen stopped moving, “for the settlement to be valid, I need to get the money today. Right now.”
“Can’t it wait until tomorrow?” the Head said.
“Not if you want the settlement to stay in place. I’ll follow you back to your office, and you can put a cheque in my hands.”

“What’s this?” my wife said when I entered the apartment later that day, after I’d driven Dr. M home, stopping first at a local pub for beers.
“It’s an absurdly expensive bunch of flowers,” I said, “although no flowers, however beautiful, however expensive, could expiate my--”
She took the flowers, and gave a kiss.
“My mom called. She told me what happened. You fixed things with my dad.”
“Yup,” I said. I had certainly done that. I’d made Dr. M a professor again, if only for a few minutes. Not only a professor, but an expert witness. The judge had declared him an expert in plain terms and Dr.M had beamed when he’d heard those words.
“And you won Ray’s case, too. But my mom didn’t know how, and I don’t know how you did it either.”
“I’ll tell you over dinner tonight,” I said.
“But we agreed no more dinners out; we have to save money, now that a baby’s coming.”
I passed her the envelope that I’d received a few hours before. She opened it, and took out a cheque, a cheque drawn up for an amount I specified, made payable to Mr. and Mrs. Calledinthe90s.
The moment I got that cheque, all I could think about was how my wife would react when I put it into her hands. I could not wait to see her eyes bulge, to hear her voice say “oh my god,” to hear her laugh.
She did none of these things. Instead, she cried.
“Does this mean we can buy a house?” The money wouldn’t be enough to buy a house, not nowadays, with prices being so crazy. But things were different back then in the 90s. Sure, the internet was barely a thing and cell phones were super expensive and a lot of things sucked, but I’ll give the nineties one thing: houses were cheap.
“I think so,” I said.

So a couple weeks ago a teenager hit my car and left their phone number and “first name” but they’ve given me empty promises on the mother reaching out. Metro and the insurance won’t do an investigation. I’ve contacted the security at both the high schools they could go to on this side of town but haven’t heard much. I’m just tired of being dragged in circles and she’s asking me to lie about what happened. Realistically I should sue them but i just lose sleep over the whole situation I just want my car fixed. Does anyone have any ideas on how to find the family? The reverse phone searches online couldn’t get me a last name and that’s literally all I need. Please if you have any advice I’ll take anything. I am currently playing a second time through the campaign on hard difficulty and since for my first go I got very frustrated from times to times and shared some (I think Helms Deep and Minas Tirith) in this sub and got questions I couldn't really answer since it was too long ago, I thought I recollect my impressions from my second playthrough as some things have changed (at least it feels like). In general: It got easier.
Moria: Very straight forward. Seperated hobbits and actual heroes into 2 groups and started clearing out goblins and skipping level ups. Once an actual hero got to lvl 2 I picked up a level-up getting them to lvl 3. Fittingly there are 5 hidden level ups and 5 actual heroes. So by the end of the level everyone who matters was lvl 3. Yes I hate the hobbits go sue me.
Lorien: Cloak the hobbits, proceed with heroes. Kill the Lumber mill in the bottom left corner, bring the hobbits. Enter Lorien and build 2 Archery Ranges. The hobbits are send to collect the treasure while everyone else is gathering at the north-western bridge. The hobbits naturally arrive at the norther bridge where they will cross and kill the lumber mill. Constantly produce elven archers and keep an eye on gimli, aragorn and boromir as they tend to get themselves isolated at the front without archer support. just get them back and heal if nessesary. between waves the hobbits go and kill the third lumber mill in the north and then run from chasing lumber jacks and orcs. Either kite them to your archers (go back around, don't try to get past a wave) or just enaugh so you can cloak them. once cloaked/save cloak them and forget about them. Southern bridge will be attacked next, so reposition to the south, after which reposition to the north. Freewin.
Rohan:
Your priorities should be: +Command, +Special, +Resources. Use the early missions, which are very easy, to max out on Rohirrim and get all upgrades asap. You should be able to train new units after every mission (as you get +command) which lets you recruit rohirrim archers and sell them at the main building to level your stables to get shields. At around Fangorn the missions will get more tricky as the enemy will have large numbers of spears with improved weapons. Don't charge them if possible. Kite them to a base with towers or just outrun them. You are usually not in a hurry. You are in a hurry tho in 2 missions where "Isengard will arrive in X minutes" - you don't want that. The army that arrives is strong and has wargs and spears which will decimate your Rohirrim. You want your Rohirrim to level from mission to mission as lvl 2 Rohirrim will not be sufficient.
Helms Deep:
There is no use in defending the lower Wall. I sell everything, archers and peasants in the main building and build Elves exclusively (unlucked once the elves arrive). Station them on the third ring at the very top. Leave all gates open, don't close them. Gather as much resources as possible while upgrading your elves with standards and fire arrows. Ignore improved weapons. Use the Rohirrim and Theoden and Eowyn to safe the peasents, let them gather the treasure and sell them. Defend the right gate on the 3rd wall with gimli, aragorn and boromir. Keep them close so they always have archer support.
The enemy will attack soon and flood the first wall (the one you're supposed to protect) but some of them will be diverted to the open gate. Your elves will kill a constant but slow stream of enemies as they trickle through. Close the lower gate from time to time to waste the enemies time as they will walk towards the ladders to climb them. Just open the gate again when rams arrive. The rams will walk through the opened gate and kill the farmsteads on the lower leve. Your archers will take care of them.
At some point ladders will gather up infront of the game unable to pass through. At that point keep the gate open at all times as ballistas will appear. They wont be able to get past the ladders and get stuck. Like this your losses are kept to a minum. From here on out it's basically just holding out. Once Eomer is ready to be called wait. Another wave will trigger shortly after. Once that has passed/reached your first gate call Eomer. Mount Gandalf and charge the first base with Eomers "For the King" ability. your losses will be minimal. After that turn around and charge whatever is left inside the keep and reunite with Theoden. Heal up on a well, maybe wait out another wave and then ride out. Eomers and Theodens abilities make your riders very tanky so you can charge the second base. After that's done retreat into the keep. No more waves will be spawned. Use your heroes to clear up the map like this you can level them up some more.
Isengard:
Became irrelevant, total cake walk. Before fire arrows where a real issue as they just DELETED ents so you had to cheese the Mission. But now, you are so strong no cheese needed. Defend the first attack, clear the goblins and the troll cave, build up ents. Walk around the base and bombard the urukhai pits and any fire-archer troops you can find while 2-3 ents defend while standing in the puddle outside the gate. Then just go in and kill everything. manouver burning ents into puddles and use heal at your own disgretion. Keep Treebeard alive and mount the Hobbits or cloak them.
Ithilien: Build only rangers and equip them with fire arrows. Try to keep everyone alive, you don't want to lose entire battalions. In the south there are a few rangers and a catapult. You can clear a big deal of the enemy camp on the middle plateau with that catapult. Aswell as the Oliphaunt in the top right corner. It will try to attack your catapult but the invisible wall makes it impossible. You can reach the Oliphaunt with your catapult from a cliff spot on the right side of the walkable map. Just area bombard where the oliphaunt stands it will return after charging you after each hit. Once that is done and the middle plateau is cleared position in front of the ramp and use the Terrain ability (that green circle where your units get boni) as close to the top right base as possible. This will trigger the orcs and trolls to attack you. Then proceed to bombard the bottom right base with your catapult and take it down with your rangers. Just take them to the topright base you cleared already and raze it to the ground. this should work ideally before mordor arrives so you can save most of your rangers.
After that you can pick missions again, and again: Command->Special->Resource.
Be careful in Dunharg, there are a lot of spears on that map and it is rather small. Striking fast is the key to victory although I lost some riders.
Osgiliath:
Then the defence of Osgiliath. This mission got a lot easier but is still tricky.
Right at the start move 2 catapults south aswell as the tower guard. Retreat with your rangers so they don't die to the attacking catapult (your otwer guard in the south will most likely be dead already). Build up the base in the south and kill the catapult with towerguard and your own catapults. Focus on Smithies only, build a well in the southern base. Man the towers with rangers and keep towerguard in defensive formation as a meatshield. Don't advance over the bridges. Maybe I got lucky but the Ai ignored the southern bridge from there on and only send waves down the middle and north. The north can easily be defended with 3 Ranger battalions and 1 towerguard.
From there on build your army up: A few tower guard are enaugh (I guess 6-8 batallions) rest Rangers. Get all upgrades from all buildings. Once your army is maxed call faramir, not earlier. You'll need the additional firepower. I used that time to upgrade the ithilien rangers that haven't been upgraded yet and leveled Faramir on the middle bridge to 5 for the +50% armor leadership bonus. I attacked the catapults one by one luring them into death while I also started building all towers in the southern base. Then I gathered everything except for 2 Ranger battalions and 1 Towerguard which stayed north and crossed the river. This will trigger nazgul to attack. Kill them asap. Establish a footholt on the other side and start taking down the base right across the river. Mount Faramir so he can dispatch any catapults quickly. Once that base is fully destroyed a large and very powerful (lvl 4+ Trolls, Oliphaunts and Orcs) will spawn. This is true for every base the enemy has. Therefor I gather all of my troops around the center of the base, once it's cleared I build a base of my own. the entrance will be to the southwest where I will build Towers at the entrance and on each spot while building a statue and a well in the back. The towers in the front will be cleared almost instantly, just rebuild them that gives your rangers till to kill anything that moves. Expect some heavy losses. Rebuild your army and kill everything but one small tower in the bottom right base. then go topside and do the same for the north base. Kill the manned towers with your catapults. Then kill both bases simultaneously and the mordor army will not spawn for base 2 and 3.
Kankra's Lair: Just walk around with Sam and kill all spiders. Don't free any soldiers. In the top left there is a troll which is too strong for Sam. So you let him throw rocks at it, until he is one hit away from death. use heal and wait until his health drops below half (after his health turns yellow one more hit) then activate the light. Once the troll flees just cloak. Wait for Sam to heal up and heal come off cooldown. Repeat this once and on your third fight with the troll sam should win. Proceed to clear everything with sam until you can only move south-east. Go and free all soldiers. Proceed with sam, kill spiders and free soldiers with soldiers. In the south there is a large arena. Gather all soldiers and tank Kankra with Sam. You will need to heal here so Sam doesn't die. Kankra runs and small spiders swarm. Your soldiers will take care of them. Kankra returns and who she focuses is random afaik so try to kite soldiers she targets away so your losses are not too big. After kankra is defeated clear the rest of the caves, gather treasure and free soldiers and gather at the exit. There is a small base in the bottom right corner guarded by some orcs. Kill them. Build the base and build 3 Smithies and a Farmstead where the Lumber Mill stood. Wait until your smithies reach Lvl 2 then research all upgrades. After the upgrades went through demolish 2 Smithies. Build an archery range and a barracks. Recruit 3 swordsmen battalions from the baracks so it reaches lvl 2. Take them and the rescued soldiers and let them die at the enemy base. They're all worthless. Recruit 12 batallions of Tower guard and 12 batallions of Archers. Fully upgrade them. Delete the archery range and build another Smithy. Throw your army against the enemy base. Once you breach the walls mordor will send a strong army so your first army is most likely lost. I managed to kill a lot by positioning towerguard wisely but in the end it wasn't enaugh. The army wont cross the bridge tho so you can just save up and build 12 Tower guard. Demolish the barracks and build an Archery Range. Build 12 Archer Battallions, full upgrade everyone. This force should be enaugh to overwhelm the defenders.
After that is Minas Tirith. That's where I am right now and I will update in the coming days once I complete it.
General: So far I feel like my troops survive more easily, the enemy armies aren't as punishing as before but I had to resort to cheesy strategies in Helms Deep and expect to cheese Minas Tirith aswell. This playthrough is therefor less challenging and usually I prefer more challenging games even or especiall when it frustrates me. But the changes just made me cheese less and restart less because I accidentally wiped 8 batallions of Rohirrim on a single urukhai spear batallion.
Mistakes I made so far: I didn't really level Gandalf in Fangorn or Helms Deep so I wont have access to lvl 10 in minas tirith. Wihch might be an issue.
I lost some Rohirrim in Dunharg which I couldn't really replenish.
(Maybe) bought the Rohirrim special power and am at 11 Special points with Anduril and Army of the dead missing.
Speaking of which: Special abilities, which I took and why:
Heal: Best ability in the game.
Bonus dmg for heroes: Worth the 1 point.
Gandalf the White: Grey is just useless.
Green-Land-Thingy: Handy in some missions.
Rohirrim: Helped me out at some later missions as fodder to throw into dangerous troops like spears and keep them occupied.
Anduril (not bought yet): Stronger Aragorn is always good, but it is a prereq for Army of the Dead.
Army of the Dead: Is good.
Eagles and Ents are not worth the points you can't use them in most missions. Elves were always underwhelming for me, they deal little to no damage, their range is kinda meh and their melee capabilities suck as in those missions you can use them the enemy has leveled and upgraded orcs/urukhai which delete the elves. Upgraded Peasents: The same reason I don't level Hobits. Sure you can take your time to do so but what's the point?

Cohen told the court that he was absolutely working on behalf of the campaign, using a campaign email account and receiving regular campaign talking points. He described setting up a shell company to pay adult film star Stormy Daniels for her story about her alleged affair with Trump, and said the order came directly from Trump himself. Cohen said Trump promised to reimburse him for the $130,000 payment to Stormy, after the lapdog took out a home equity line of credit on his apartment to secure the money.
  
• Prosecutors hope Cohen will convince the jury that Trump knew about the payment scheme. They asked Cohen directly whether or not he would have paid Daniels without Trump’s authorization, and Cohen said no. “Everything required Mr. Trump’s sign-off,” he affirmed. On top of that, he wanted his money back!
  

It’s important to keep in mind that Cohen is a convicted liar and an all-around shady guy. Next up, Trump’s defense attorneys will set out to destroy his credibility on cross-examination. But it’s up to the jury to decide if this boy cried wolf too many times.

Louisiana could become the first state in the country to categorize abortion pills as controlled dangerous substances, meaning fines and jail time for any non-healthcare professional caught in possession of the drugs without a prescription. A pregnant woman who obtained the pills for herself would be exempt from prosecution — but a friend helping her get the pills could be charged with a crime and face up to five years in prison. Oh cool! New dystopian horror just dropped!
State legislators inserted this draconian clause as a last-minute amendment into a Senate bill that aims to criminalize “coerced” abortion in instances where someone gives a pregnant person mifepristone or misoprostol without their consent. (Apparently, that nearly really happened to the pregnant sister of the sponsor of this bill.)
The amendment adds abortion pills to a list of criminalized, addictive drugs like opioids and depressants, even though more than 200 Louisiana doctors signed a letter pointing out that this makes no scientific sense. The medical experts reminded Republican senators that misoprostol is also used for other purposes outside of abortions, including during labor and delivery, treatment after a miscarriage, and to help stop postpartum hemorrhage. Mifepristone, the most common abortion pill, is safer than Viagra and penicillin. Oh yeah, and one more thing: Abortion pills are not addictive, you freaks! Louisiana has already banned both medication and surgical abortions except for life-saving circumstances. We get it, Louisiana! You hate women!

Nordic countries that have bans on certain dog breeds have far fewer deaths than those that do not. Whose interest should weigh the most in society? That is the question asked by Sirkku Sarenbo, docent in environmental science.
In recent years, severe dog attacks on children, adults, dogs and horses have initiated discussion about different solutions to this social problem. According to interest organizations and private actors with a vested interest in dogs of the fighting dog type, breed bans are completely ineffective and no solution. They refer to, among other things, Danish studies where the researchers could not show that the breed ban had the desired effect on the number or extent of bite injuries on dogs and humans.
Already after two years, however, the number of bite injury treatments at Copenhagen's animal hospital had decreased, and at the end of June 2015, injury statistics from Odense Hospital showed that the number of dog-related injuries to humans had dropped by 15 percent.
The biggest difference is in the number of dog-related deaths. Nordic countries that have racial prohibitions have far fewer deaths than those that do not. The dogs that figure in fatal attacks on humans and other dogs are often distinctive working dogs selected for special tasks, and are rarely suitable for companionship alone. Although modern breeding is said to have reduced the dogs' desire and ability to perform their duties such as fighting, guarding or herding, case law testifies otherwise.
Legislative measures introduced so far, which were aimed at counteracting the problem with fighting dogs, have not had the desired effect, but have had the opposite effect. Dogs of fighting dog breeds have taken their place among the ten most common breeds in at least 54 municipalities, and dogs with a history of bites are mediated both under state auspices and via private interest organizations. New varieties have been developed and the statistics on the Swedish Agricultural Agency's dog register show that a remarkably large proportion of the dogs registered as fighting dog breeds had to change homes at least once after the new registration. This can also be seen in the animals that are relocated via the dog shelters, and in advertisements on Blocket.
The Swedish Kennel Club believes that a ban on American Staffordshire terriers (amstaff) would not work because the dogs are often mixed breeds. But a ban would surely strangle the basis for mixed breed breeding - because without so-called purebred dogs, we can't produce so-called mixed breeds either?
About 70 district court judgments from 2023 to the time of writing this year deal with prosecutions for causing bodily harm where one or more dogs caused the harm. In these cases, a diverse group of dog owners appear; some with criminal connections and/or substance abuse problems, but also completely ordinary people who invested time and resources to give a dog "a second chance", but who were surprised in a situation where the dog suddenly took its own initiative, attacked and seriously injured a outsider or his dog.
Should the businesses that rehome or import dogs for rehoming be exempted from liability when the rehomed dog bites? When dogs with bite histories are repeatedly rehomed to families with children? And who is actually the "responsible" and experienced owner who is so often asked for? Every dog owner needs a knowledgeable circle around him who can help with the dog - and every "responsible" owner can still make a mistake. Should we have dogs that attack and bite others as soon as they happen to get loose?
The dog organizations have been clear that the amstaff and american bully are worth preserving, but who is standing up for all the others whose dogs have been injured and bitten to death by them? How many poodles, dachshunds and labradors is an amstaff and an american bully worth? How does it feel to sit with your companion dog's body in your arms when the American bully has torn its head off? And the authorities think this was just an accident?
There are tools for assessing a dog's dangerousness and the prognosis of new attacks. Rehabilitation of a dog that has caused a severe bite injury is basically hopeless, and the probability that it will bite again is high.
More difficult to measure is the fear and feeling of insecurity that keeping dangerous dogs causes to those around them. Whose interest should weigh more heavily? The individual's interest in owning a dangerous dog - or that of those around them who have to adapt their lives to the dangerous dog in fear of being attacked?

Pretty much just typing this out to vent. My depression has always been a thing, recently got out of a heavy relationship and triggered a whole bunch of bs.
Got put on meds, doing a lot of therapy. Went to a crisis center (not really sure why, I guess I just wanted to talk to someone) and told them about my suicidal thoughts. They let me go because I had a psych and therapist already set up.
Went back the following week bc I wanted to get information about IOP and because I was in an even more depressed state and mentioned my suicidal thoughts. They told me I had to go to the hospital for a psych evaluation or they will come to my house with police and do it there / bring me to hospital. Keep in mind I’m 25 yo. The case manager literally asked me where I would go and get a rope and I shrugged and said “idk, Home Depot” and they stapled that to my forehead and I was fucked. Looking back I should have never went there but oh well.
Went to hospital voluntarily thinking the eval would be short and quick. boy was I wrong. Checked in around 7pm. Gave up all my property. Thrown in scrubs. Thrown into a 4x4 room with bright lights and a prison bed with smelly ass sheets. Hella flies and centipedes crawling around. Food crumbs on the sticky floors. Luckily I had a TV, but it was from the 90s and sucked.
After about an hour I was fine thinking I’d be out soon. Around 10pm I realized what I got into when the lady in the room next door told me she’s been there since 1pm and nobody’s seen her yet. Minors kept walking in which meant they got bumped up to the top of the list.
There were some people there that were seriously in need. I knew I did t belong there. Finally around 10am the next day I was seen by a screener who did not believe a word I said. Luckily my parents were fighting in the lobby the whole time trying to pull me out saying we got tricked into going here, which we did. They told me it would be quick and easy. I ended up seeing the psychiatrist at 1:30pm the next day and after a heavy interrogation he told me that I’m getting discharged. Around 2:30 I signed paperwork and got the fuck out.
In total was there for 18 hours. Fucking awful time. Was trapped in my depressed mind the whole time. In a way it forced me to come to terms with some things, and when I got out I felt so free and happy. Few days later, I still feel depressed. But I guess that’s just my brain chemistry.
Never again will I trust a crisis center especially when I first went in I told them I just wanted to get involved in group therapy and told them clearly I did not want to go to a hospital bc I would be seen as just a liability by god knows who.
The nurses in there were extremely rude and condescending (except 2 who were actually sympathetic and said that they get inappropriate referrals). One nurse even laughed and said “it’s not so bad” as she was eating chipotle and watching Facebook videos as I waited 12 hours to even be screened.
Completely lost my faith in the healthcare system. Part of me even wants to sue but I’m not even going that route. Told the crisis center to never call me again and lose all my information.
Honestly, I see why they do these things, but the way they go about it is completely fucked. I felt like a dog in a kennel, or a rat in a cage.

I'm worried about my GSD after a strange and alarming reaction to either clove or peppermint oil.
I was using Vet's Best brand flea and tick yard/kennel spray on some shrubs, bushes, and tall grass in the yard. Only a few of which were within 20 feet of the house. The A/C was off and windows were shut. My dogs have never shown a sensitivity to any herbs or essential oils in the past.
My wife was inside having lunch and said the GSD was behaving normally right up until this moment: I was finishing up and approached the patio door and saw the GSD moving strangely. I came inside and he was drooling, leaning to one side, and taking short breaths. He seemed to be walking in tight, panicked circles. At first I thought something was stuck in his mouth. We pried it open but saw and felt nothing. My wife also has a strange burn mark on her hand after doing so.
He did recover after a couple minutes, ate a cookie and drank water, and was walking and behaving normally. But I'm puzzled as to the cause. I can't find anything that he could have gotten into. Could the faint smell of clove or peppermint oil used in the spray from outside have triggered this kind of effect?
Meanwhile, I'm the one who was doing the spraying, and I have no effects other than a stress headache.
Anyone out there ever experienced something like this?

Hey everyone! I've been a lurker on the subreddit for a little while and I thought that I would like to start contributing. There's been an uptick in stories with Farsul main characters, so might as well jump in on the trend. Just to preface, I haven't ever written a fan fiction before, so let me know what you think. Any feedback is appreciated.

Memory Transcription Subject: Lerson, Farsul Exterminator Date [standardized human time]: October 18, 2136
We have failed. We were so close to finally eliminating the newest threat to the Galaxy, but of course the Arxur would back up their fellow predators. My crew and I were only able to hold out for [half an hour] before our ship was ripped to shreds. Luckily most of us made it to the escape pods before an Arxur ship was able to make the final blow. However, a stray shot knocked out our reverse thrusters so there was nothing keeping us from smashing in the surface of this forsaken planet.
I woke up after the crash only to find the rest of my men mangled by the impact. Their maimed bodies were sprawled around the remains of the shuttle leaving me alone. I was somehow left unscathed by the crash. Perhaps it was a blessing, but looking back on it, it was more like a curse. Hmph, at the very least it meant that the pod’s rations would last me a little longer than usual.
I wanted to at least try to give my men a proper burial, but that proved to be difficult. The hard soil proved too much for my small claws. In the end I resorted to using some of the ship's unused fuel to burn the bodies along with the remains of the shuttle. The predators would come looking for it soon and my men would rather be burned than become a snack for those blood thirst monsters. I said a final prayer for them before setting off.
Trekking for [a few hours] I worked my way through the trees. I have no idea where I’m going! If I keep this pace now the predators investigating the pod probably won’t find me, but what’s to stop me from running into more ahead of me. It's only a matter of time before they find me, kill me, or worse put me in one of their farms.
[Advance Time 5 Days 2 hours 7 minutes]
My rations are starting to get low and I have no idea what kinds of plants I can eat here. I see the sun beginning to dip below the horizon. It will only be [~2o minutes] before I’m surrounded by darkness. Perhaps it's just luck, but I avoided running into any predators the past few nights. The Terrans must have done away with their competition. The only wild life I’ve seen has been some herbivores in the distance.
Preparing my shelter for the night I take the tarp out of my pack. I tried to set up a crude tent with some nearby sticks. It's not the best shelter but it’s not like I have many other options. Resting my head on my pack, I try to conserve as much heat as possible, while the chill air of the forest tries to suck the remaining warmth out of me.
[Advance Time 2 hours 43 minutes]
Snap! My ears shoot up. Something is here! I slowly lift my head off the ground trying not to make any sound as I do. Peaking my head out of my shelter I look around trying to see anything in the darkness. The light from the moon was barely bright enough for me to make out a faint silhouette. I let out a sigh of relief, few. The animal couldn’t be more than [a foot] tall. It was probably some small herbivore using the darkness to hide from predators. Hearing me it turned its head in my direction. It looked at me with its two forward facing eyes. The two glowing orbs pierced into me causing a yelp to escape from my muzzle. In the darkness a dozen more orbs blinked into existence. My heart begins pounding in my chest. It's a whole pack, Run! Before I know it I’m sprinting faster than I have in years.
The trees in the forest rush past me. I can’t let them get me! I can’t bear to look back, but I know the pack is right on my tail. My lungs are heaving and my legs feel like lead, but I can’t stop now. I keep running for what feels like hours before my legs give out from under me. Collapsed on the ground I try to catch my breath, but my lungs are still ceasing. Frantically looking around I see I’ve reached a clearing in the trees. Feeling the ground beneath me, it’s not dirt, a road? That was my last thought before my consciousness slipped away.

Loud singing is heard following along to a pop song on the radio. The woman in the driver's seat is waving her arms in the air slurring along with the lyrics. She appears to be intoxicated. Her eyes focus on the road, “Car stop!” The vehicle's autopilot stops slows down the car and pulls it over to the side of the highway. The woman exits the vehicle and later returns with a mass in her arms. “Its okay doggy! Everything's gonna be fine!” she says, “Car uh… fuck… uh… go to the uh.. animal place.” After buckling her seat belt the car drives off.
Security Camera Footage: Rockville Animal Shelter Date [standardized human time]: October 24, 2136
A single employee with dark circles under their eyes is seen sitting at the counter looking at their phone. A woman enters the shelter looking somewhat panicked. She appears to be holding a dog in her arms. The employee behind the counter speaks to the woman who soon calms down. Walking out from behind the counter the employee inspects the dog. It appears to be uninjured. They speak to the woman again and take the dog from her arms. The woman then leaves the shelter. The tired looking employee carries the dog to the back towards the kennels.

Ugh! My whole body hurts and my legs feel like jelly. What happened? Oh! I remember I was fleeing from that pack of vicious predators when… spehk! I passed out, didn't I? Am I dead? No, I wouldn’t be in so much pain if I was dead. Bark! Bark! What was that!? My eyes shoot open. It takes [a few seconds] for my vision to adjust. I cringe as the bright light assaults my eyes, but I’m able to look around me. Bars. Oh… no… I’m not dead. It's worse. The predators have me in one of their cattle pens. I know I couldn’t run from them forever. I should have killed myself before they could get me. At least then I could have avoided this hell.
Bark! Bark! My ears swivel towards the sound. That noise, where’s it coming from? I look past the bars and look into the cell on the opposite side. It's another Farsul! No, it’s not. My hair stands up as I look into its binocular eyes. I nearly scream when its maw opens to reveal its sharp carnivorous teeth.
Rushing back away from the bars I bump into something. It's a bowl filled with water. Water! I had been so disoriented that I barely noticed how thirsty I was. Without hesitating, I scooped up the bowl and slumped down the room temperature liquid. Nearby I spot another bowl filled with pellets. I sniff the bowl but I’m not able to make out any distinct smells. I bet that it's some kind of food, but considering that it's predator food It probably has flesh in it. I gag a little thinking about it.
Trying to distract myself from the flesh pellets I look into the hallway beyond the bars. There are dozens of cages lining the walls. Looking into them I see even more predators. Many of them have similar features, but they all look rather distinct. Some are nearly twice my size while others barely make it to my knee. A few have long hair like me. However, most have shorter coats and they come in a wide range of colors.
Wait! I think I heard about this? The Terran predators keep other predators as their slaves. This must be one of their holding pens, but why am I here?
Looking back at the cage across from me I spy the false Farsul. Then it dawns on me. The stupid predators must think that I’m one of their slave creatures. Maybe I can leverage this to make my escape.
These beasts appear to be quadrupedal, so I get down on all fours. It's uncomfortable. My body isn’t meant to walk like this. I don’t understand how the Zurulians manage it. My lower limbs are a bit too long, so I have to bend my knees quite a bit to match the predator's gait. This will do. The fact that I got put here in the first place shows that they aren’t very observant.
Creeeek… Hearing a door open I move back from the cage bars and sit down on the ground. Trying my best to mimic the predators. “Here are the dogs, miss,” said a tired sounding voice. “Mommy! Mommy! Look at that one! Look at those ones!” squealed out a shrill voice. “Yes honey. I see, I see,” growled out a deeper one.
My heart raced as the footsteps got closer. Eventually three figures came into view, two taller and one shorter. The shorter one must still be a pup. I can see its predatory eyes scanning the room around it. Its head turns towards me and we lock eyes. “Mom, look at this one!” it shrieks. The predator’s parent looks towards me. “Um honey, maybe not that one. It looks deformed!” it says with what I could only assume was a disgusted look.
At least I don’t look like you.
“How about this one?” directing the pup towards the cage on the opposite side. The small one shrieks again. I’m getting a headache from all this noise. “Yes! I love them.” The false Farsul jumps up on the bars, which only intensifies the small predator's shrieks. The other adult predator takes out a key and unlocks the cage. Yes, my key to freedom! After opening the door the beast jumps out and starts eating the pups face off! My eyes snap shut and I grab my mussel to stop myself from shouting at the horrific scene. I expect to hear yelling, but nothing happens. I open my eyes and see the beast licking the small one's face. Letting out a sigh of relief, I calm down a little. Wait, why was I worried? They’re predators. Bloodthirsty monsters. I shouldn’t feel bad for them.
[Advance Time 7 hours 35 minutes]
After that scene, the trio of Terrans left with their beast in tow. Over the last several [hours] more groups passed through with similar intentions. Every time the same predator would unlock the cage and the beast would go with its new masters. Hmph, If only I could get the predator to unlock my cage then I would be free, but it seems like they only do that when a new master comes to claim them. That means that I would need to get one of them to pick me.
Once again my ears perk up at the sound of the door opening. There were only two sets of footsteps this time and a pleasant lack of those ear piercing shrieks. Getting closer to the bars I’m able to spot the same familiar predator standing next to a new figure. They appeared much older than any of the other predators I’ve seen today. Its hair was graying to the point that it was almost white and its gait was closer to a shuffle than walking.
“So, Mr. Silversmith, what were you looking for?” said the familiar one. “Oh, my grandson recommended that I should get a pet, he thinks that I’m all lonely now that he’s out there fighting, but I think I’m doing just fine.” growled the elderly predator. “Well if you are looking for company, we do have a few older canines back here, they might be more your speed,” spoke the young one. “I’m already here, so might as well take a look, to get my grandson off my back at the very least,” it said.
The pair stopped by a few of the cages, but the old predator didn’t seem to show any interest. Then they made their way towards me. “We just got this old guy in yesterday,” announced the predator. OLD! I’m not that old. Sure my muzzle has begun to gray a little, but that just makes me look distinguished.
Wait, this could be my ticket out of here. If I can convince this predator to take me then I can get out of this awful prison. Yes! This is the perfect plan! My tail begins to wag behind me. “Ha ha ha!” the elderly one growled out, “This one seems happy to see me.”
I snap out of my own thoughts and look at the Terran snarling at me with its awful teeth. I almost flinch at the sight, but hold firm. If I want to get out of here alive, then I need to keep my composure. It bends down, “do you want to go home with me, boy?” Without thinking I nod my head. The predator pauses for a second before letting out a short chuckle, “Ha! Okay, boy!” Turning to the other predator it said, “I think I’ll take this guy.”
The younger one unlocked my cage and I was finally free, but it was only a moment later that they looped a rope around my neck. I’m not home free just yet. I walk with predators, at least trying to while on all fours. Luckily the elderly one was walking slow enough for me to keep its pace. It was only [~20 minutes] later that I was sitting in the back seat of the predator's vehicle. Wait… what do I do now? __________

I decided to post more. Right up front, I want to clarify that this isn't intended as dissing the game or calling it bad, but I renamed all the rivals because, well, I'm not a big fan of their current names. If I could, I would make all the current names nicknames and give the rivals these new names as their real names. In fact, I would actually suggest doing so, with these or other names. I want the game to be the best version of itself and in my mind that means names that aren't just google translated words. Besides, Japanese names are so much fun to create, you can pack a lot of meaning into them if you spend some time researching. Anyways, once again I used japanese-names.info and jisho.org to come up with these and they probably all lean towards the kira kira end of names

Osana Najimi

Her name comes from osananajimi, the Japanese word for childhood friend. I would rename her Sana Nagatomo, written 咲 (sa) meaning to bloom or to blossom, 愛 (na) meaning joy or to love, 長 (naga) meaning long time or eternity, 友 (tomo) meaning friend. Her last name reflects her status as Senpai's childhood friend while her first name is a reference to her growing feelings towards him. Because there are already multiple voiced lines using her name, I would change her introduction from Info-chan to say "Her name is Sana Nagatomo. Everyone calls her Osana."

Amai Odayaka

Amai means sweet (as in the flavor) and odayaka means gentle. I would name her Mikan Odanaka, written 美 (mi) meaning beautiful, 甘 (kan) meaning sweet or pleasant tasting, 小 (o) meaning small, 田 (da) meaning rice field, 中 (naka) meaning inside. The last name was chosen because it's only a letter off from her current last name which is on the side of the bakery in town, so it only has to be slightly edited to fir the new name. An obviously the first name references sweet foods, which are her specialty

Kizana Sunobo

Kizana means something like smug or pompous and sunobu is the English word snob in Japanese. I would name her Yukari Sunaga, written 優 (yu) meaning outstanding or superior, 華 (ka) meaning splendid or flower, 璃 (ri) meaning jewel, 寿 (su) meaning auspiciousness, 永 meaning long time. So she's a splendid, outstanding jewel who will have success for a long time. Sounds like a smug name to me.

Oka Ruto

I know, I know, we all love Oka-chan, so do I, she's perfect. But her name is just the English word occult in Japanese (okaruto). So I'd go with Mariya Kanno, written 魔 (ma) meaning demon or evil spirit, 璃 (ri) meaning glass or crystal (like a crystal ball!), 夜 (ya) meaning night or midnight, 神 (kan) meaning deity or soul, 呪 (o) meaning curse or spell. Yeah, leaning hard into the magic and demons here

Asu Rito

Asu actually is a name! But none of the kanji had anything to do with her character. Anyways, asurito is the English word athlete. I'd name her Eimi Rinko, 泳 (ei) meaning swim, 美 (mi) meaning beautiful, 輪 (rin) meaning circle, 湖 (ko) meaning lake. The character 輪 is also used in the word for the Olympics, so that's a neat bonus for our wanna-be Olympian

Muja Kina

Her name is derived from mujaki which means innocent or simple minded, plus the modifier na to make it an adjective. I'd call her Kiyomi Sekka: 健 (ken) meaning healthy or strong, 美 (mi) meaning beautiful. 拙 (setsu) meaning clumsy or unskilled, 家 (ka) meaning home or lineage. There aren't many kanji that relate to her gimmick of being klutzy and getting into accidentally suggestive situations, 拙 was the best I could get. Also I wanted to reference her being a nurse, so 健.

Mida Rana

Genuine question: does anyone like Mida? All the other rivals I've seen people say they love them, but no one ever seems to say anything positive about Mida. Which I get lol she's my least fave rival. Anyways. Midarana means lewd. I came up with Noriko Hoshiga: 教 (nori) meaning to teach or to guide, 子 (ko) meaning girl or child, 欲 (hoshii) meaning crave or desire, 賀 (ga) meaning celebration. Shockingly there aren't many kanji related to lust or sex that are used in peoples' names, 欲 was the best I could find and I'm reasonably sure it doesn't have any sexual connotations. As for her first name, I wanted to reference that she's a teacher, and 子 is a very common suffix for names, especially from the 80's and 90's.

Osoro Shidesu

As far as I can tell, osoroshidesu means terrifying or "it's scary". I named her Ran Hazaki: 乱 (ran) meaning disorder or chaos, 破 (ha) meaning destroy or defeat, 崎 (saki) meaning steep or rugged land. Real talk, this is my favorite name I came up with, I love how it sounds. Her first name references her delinquency, while 崎 is meant to reflect how the game is getting more difficult (think a "steep" difficulty curve).

Hanako Yamada

Much like her brother, Hanako already sorta has kanji for her name. Hanako Yamada is the Japanese equivalent of Jane Doe: a placeholder name given to unidentified or unknown women. As far as I can tell, it's typically written 花 (hana) meaning flower, 子 (ko) meaning girl or child, 山 (yama) meaning mountain, 田 (ta) meaning rice paddy. Obviously she has the same last name as her brother

Megami Saikou

Megami is a word for Goddess, saikou means best. Her initials, if you haven't ever noticed, are MS as in Mary Sue, and I want to keep that. Saikou is already all over the game, so there's no changing it. Which is fine, I like the name. I would change her first name to Mikami: 美 (mi) meaning beautiful, 神 (kami) meaning deity or excellence. Basically the same as her current name. As for Saikou, I think you could write it as 斎 (sai) meaning purification, 侯 (koh) meaning lord, nobleman or target. Which is a combination I really like

Something I noticed in Fr. Vlad’s account of his time in Opus Dei (http://www.fathervlad.com/download/prof-msgr-vladimir-felzmann-a-journey-to-eternity-my-years-in-opus-dei-1959-1982.pdf) that aligns with others’ observations of Josemaria Escriva: He seems to have had a lot of free time.
Fr. Vlad talks about how, when he was in Rome training to be ordained, JE would spend hours watching him paint or do electrical repairs. JE also personally pre-screened any movies they watched in order to censor them. There are recollections from women (both exes and members) of him coming into the laundry or the kitchen to sit and tell the nax anecdotes of his childhood while they worked. The people around him were running around doing everything from the mundane tasks of the household to the high-level work of researching canon law to set up a juridical structure for OD, and JE…well, we know he said Mass every day and did his norms (though no one really kept track of his schedule except Don Alvaro and Don Javier), and he sometimes had high-level clerics and donors and occasionally family members of his favorite numeraries over for lunch or visits…but otherwise, he seems to have had a lot of free time.
And it seems he put much of this free time to work “seducing” (Fr. Vlad’s word) his favorites with his time and affection. The man who had zero tolerance for particular friendships among his followers certainly seemed to have had such relationships of his own. To be clear, I am not alleging sexual improprieties, though it wouldn’t surprise me if something like that had been going on based on Fr. Vlad’s descriptions of “wrestling” and time spent together in the middle of the night when JE had insomnia. This affection has more to do with details of particular gifts, favors to their biological families, and time spent together getting to know them and remembering the details they had told him later. Then when, later on, JE was displeased with them and shouted at them or corrected them, it cut all the more deeply. This is how he guaranteed the loyalty of key members and kept them inside even when they knew things were going on that violated their consciences and made them question. It was pure manipulation.
Of course, JE is never presented this way in Opus Dei. They talk about how much he had on his plate, trying to sort out a situation for Opus Dei within a Church that just “couldn’t understand” his idea for an organization of lay people. Oh, and the worries of all of his children fell squarely on his shoulders! Like the mother of a large and poor family! No wonder his “strong temper” was sometimes activated and he would yell at “his children”—it was their fault for not doing what he wanted, when he wanted, in the exact way he wanted. Of course he had to be strong with them! He was the father of a “large and poor family,” living in a marble-walled palace where other people provided for all of his material needs. With private rooms none could enter, unless particularly invited. (Imagine having that level of privacy and security in a center as an ordinary member, when anyone can enter without permission and you can be moved to another country at any moment!) Summering in England when it got too hot in Italy. Enjoying weekends in the countryside on the dime of his donors. Multiple luxury cars (with a full-time driver and caretaker) at his beck and call in the middle of Rome. Everywhere you go, they roll out the red carpet, with performances of songs and plays and anecdotes to entertain you. If you were really bored, you could just call up one of your favorite numeraries and ask them to come spend time with you. And they’d drop whatever they were doing, because a request from “The Father” is paramount.
When you look at him in this light, he starts to look eerily similar to…every other cult leader. Their organizations are always “misunderstood,” and that weighs so heavily on them. So heavily that everyone around them needs to help keep their spirits up, along with doing all the work of taking care of their needs and solving this big problem:
Keith Raniere, leader of NXIUM—so distraught with anyone who left that he’d sue them to ensure their bankruptcy and silence. It was so stressful for him, he’d spend hours lying on the couch while everyone around him scurried to work, and while major donors fell all over themselves to pay for his expenses. And they’d make him feel better by giving him massages, playing volleyball late into the night because it was his favorite thing, and organizing an entire week of essentially camp for adults in his honor. This is to say nothing of the sexual favors he was demanding of the women in his inner circle that most members were unaware of. But even if sex had been out of the picture, NXIUM was still a cult and Keith's control over his members was maintained through manipulation of his favorites with his time and attention. He hangs out with his favorite members (celebrities like Tom Cruise) and has an entourage who follow him around catering to his every whim, ensuring he always has his favorite foods and the best of everything on hand. Rajneesh (aka Osho), leader of the Sannyasin movement—flew around on private jets, owned 93 Rolls Royces that ferried him around. Held audiences with members of his movements that look eerily similar to the films of JE, answering questions, giving guidance from on high. He would give his time and affection to those he favored, and set his followers up to compete for his affection. He lived a very comfortable life while his generals did his dirty work enforcing rules with his followers and strategizing against the residents of a small town in Oregon to make way for their cult's compound to flourish.
