(Buckle up, this is a long one)
I first posted about this last year, and a few things have changed, but I’m reaching the point where I just don’t know if it’s worth the effort to continue with this project.
The band was formed at the beginning of 2022 – originally, 5 guys playing rock and metal covers. The band was formed by the singer (N) and a lead guitarist (R). I auditioned and got the gig by default (I was the only bass player who auditioned), and we continued auditioning people for rhythm guitar and drums. We found a stable lineup with (S) on guitar and (A) on drums.
We moved around a few times looking for a good rehearsal space. The first place was too crowded, with no space for our drummer to set up his kit, no space for a bass cabinet or anything else. We moved into another room that was better but had stress with the other bands that played there.
It came to a head when (R) had some substance abuse problems and hit his wife, who threw him out of the house. He was homeless for a couple of weeks and was sleeping in our rehearsal room. The leader of the other band had zero tolerance for alcoholics, and basically told us we’d have to find another room because he didn’t want (R) around anymore.
We moved to another room but were then informed that the building was due to be torn down, so we had to move again. We finally found a good rehearsal space by mid-2023, so that problem was solved.
(R) went off to therapy, and during that time the rhythm guitarist (S) started having an affair with (R)’s ex wife. (R) tried to get his life back together but couldn’t be in the same room as (S) because of the affair. (R) finally quit the band and moved to a different city for a new start.
(S), in the meantime, was separated from his wife, having an affair with (R)’s ex, and becoming an alcoholic himself. Between July and December 2023, we managed to hold just 6 rehearsals, mostly focused on trying to find a new lead guitarist.
In early 2024, we finally managed to find a new guy (R2) who is *much* better than (R) was - he's a great guitarist who shows up sober, on time, and ready to play.
The problem is now with (S). He’s definitely alcoholic, showing up to rehearsal drunk and/or downing several beers during rehearsal. His “girlfriend” – (R)’s ex-wife – is highly demanding as well, so he’s checking his phone between songs instead of concentrating on the music. She'll send him 20 WhatsApp messages in 20 minutes, and give him shit if he doesn't answer immediately.
We were rehearsing one song that he hadn’t learned yet, so he just put down his guitar and left the room for 15 minutes to “have a smoke” and text with his girlfriend while we ran through the song with (R2). We normally rehearse from 7pm to 9:30pm, but (S) now packs up and leaves at 8:30 because “he has to catch a train.”
Today, we’re in week 22 of 2024. We’ve managed to have about 12 rehearsals, but (S) has only shown up to about 8 of them and isn’t really “there” even if he’s physically present.
We had a rehearsal on Monday – (R2) on guitar, (A) on drums, and I (bass) showed up, and both singers had said they aren’t available. (S) didn’t show up and didn’t say he wasn’t available (we have a band WhatsApp group, so it’s easy to write a quick “can’t make it” message). Both singers are ready to throw him out of the band, but I’m pleading to give him a last chance at our next rehearsal in 2 weeks (several of us are not available next week, so we cancelled the rehearsal).
I’ve been rehearsing with this band for 2.5 years now, and we’re still months away from even being close to booking a gig or getting into a studio. I’ve put in a lot of time and effort – I created our band logo, web page, FB and IG pages, had a banner and sample T-shirts printed, etc. We play some really great songs ... but it’s just so frustrating that we can’t seem to go beyond rehearsals.
During our “down time” last summer, I joined another band that plays a different genre (rock & R&B covers instead of rock & metal). That band has come together quickly, and we’ve got our first gig in July and another one booked in September. We’ve got a set list of about 20 to 25 songs that we can easily extend for a 1.5-to-2-hour set.
When I listen to the recordings of both bands (I record every rehearsal), my feeling is the same – when we’ve rehearsed for 3 weeks in a row, we’re fucking good. We’re tight. We’re as good as many of the bands I’ve heard playing similar gigs (town festivals, wine festivals, etc.). But if we don’t play together for weeks, we lose that magic and have to work hard to build it again.
My memory of songs is volatile. If I don’t play a song for a month, I forget some of the parts and have to look them up again. Rehearsals are the only way that we, as a band, can play as a unit and sound tight.
My R&B band rehearsed 3 times in 1 week (Friday, Wednesday, and Friday again), and the last rehearsal was mind-blowing. I showed up with my Fretless Jazz bass and played the whole set with it. I never dreamed that I would play a fretless, but this band has given me a ton of confidence.
I don’t want to watch the metal band self-destruct, but I just don’t know if we’ll be able to find another rhythm guitarist and start over again. The singers are both frustrated, and the lead guitarist also has other projects that are more promising.

Jill: "Well, at least it’ll be entertaining."
Leslie and Christy step into the ring, wearing boxing gloves and protective headgear. Abby stands off to the side, acting as the announcer.
Abby: "Alright, ladies. This is for the spot on the team. Keep it clean. Ding, ding!"
The bell rings, and Leslie and Christy start boxing. The crowd watches in a mix of horror and fascination as the two moms exchange blows.
Act 2:
As the match progresses, it becomes clear that Leslie is the more aggressive fighter. Christy tries to defend herself, but Leslie lands several hard hits.
Kira: "This is getting out of hand."
Suddenly, Leslie throws a punch that lands below Christy’s belt. The referee steps in to call a foul, but Leslie, enraged, turns on the referee.
Leslie: "What do you mean, foul?! She’s been hitting me all match!"
Leslie tries to fight the referee, but the other moms and some of the producers manage to pull her back. The match is briefly halted, and the referee warns Leslie to control herself.
Abby: "Alright, let’s get back to it. No more fouls, Leslie."
Act 3:
The fight resumes, and Leslie, fueled by anger, lands a powerful punch that knocks Christy to the ground. Christy is dazed but manages to get up, determined not to let Leslie win so easily.
Christy: "You’re not getting rid of me that easily!"
Christy tackles Leslie, and the two women start brawling on the floor of the ring. The crowd of moms and dancers erupts into chaos, with everyone shouting and trying to intervene.
Act 4:
The brawl between Leslie and Christy spills out of the ring and into the studio. Moms and dancers alike are pushing, shoving, and screaming. The scene descends into pure chaos as furniture is knocked over and the noise reaches a fever pitch.
Amid the chaos, a glass window in the viewing area is shattered. Shards of glass rain down, and several ALDC students are injured by the flying debris.
Maddie: "Watch out!"
The camera shows several dancers holding their arms and heads, blood visible from minor cuts. The moms rush to help their children, while Abby frantically tries to restore order.
Abby: "Everyone, calm down! Someone call 911!"
Act 5:
The scene cuts to the outside of the ALDC studio, where police cars and ambulances have arrived. Paramedics are attending to the injured dancers, while police officers are trying to take statements and calm everyone down.
Officer: "We need to know exactly what happened here."
Holly: "It started with a boxing match, but it turned into a full-blown riot."
Leslie and Christy are both being restrained by police officers, still shouting insults at each other.
Leslie: "This isn’t over, Christy!"
Christy: "You think you’ve won? Think again!"
The paramedics wheel the injured dancers into ambulances, while the other moms gather around their children, trying to comfort them.
Act 6:
The final act shows the aftermath of the chaos. The ALDC studio is in disarray, with broken furniture and shattered glass everywhere. Abby stands in the center, looking both furious and defeated.
Abby: "This was supposed to be a competition, not a war zone. I’m done with this nonsense."
The camera cuts to the moms and dancers outside, where the injured students are being treated by paramedics. Holly is comforting Nia, who has a bandage on her arm.
Holly: "We’re going to get through this, Nia. We always do."
The episode ends with a montage of the police and paramedics wrapping up their work, the studio being cleaned up, and the moms and dancers leaving, clearly shaken by the day’s events.
End Credits: The screen fades to black, the Dance Moms logo appearing with the familiar, dramatic music playing. The words "To Be Continued..." leave fans eagerly awaiting the next episode.

So I got an Xbox series s yesterday set it all up and was fine, Spotify and all my other games were working, but now when I go on roblox it's just a black screen with music playing or when I go on to Spotify it's a black screen with Spotify logo for a few seconds then kicks me off, I've uninstalled and re installed still not working, on my phone it connects then disconnects two seconds later. This is a bit random but I was curious to know if this is common with other people: does anyone else get a lot of comments when they wear Corridor merch out and about? It might be because I'm on the East coast and I figure it's less common here, but I have a Corridor hat and the red "Media Offline" Premiere error t-shirt that I wear reasonably often and I get more comments on those than on literally anything else I've ever worn. Some people just like the logo on the hat, some people get excited that they recognize it as Corridor merch, and last weekend I had several people at a music festival in a media/press tent comment on how awesome they thought the Media Offline shirt was. I know this probably comes off like an ad but it's seriously noticeable how much attention I get whenever I wear it. Anyone else have a similar experience?

I am italian with 8 year of experience. A newborn music festival asked me to do a logo, 4 post and story templates, the festival poster (both printed and digital) a 3mt adv poster and some graphics for the merch.
I asked for 3000 euros. They replied saying that they can spend 600 euros. I said no of course but now i am asking myself, since i just started freelancing after years of working in agencies and I am getting very little work, is 3k too much? Should i have accepted the 600?

I just installed ghost of tsushima for the second time on my steam deck as on the first go I ran into audio issues where the game lauched and I could notice right away that the audio accompanying the Sony logo was muted. I allowed the game to get to the title screen and there all seemed fine since the audio issue appeared to have been fixed automatically but to my Big disappointment as I launched the game and the first cinematic rolled in, only the music and the sound effects were playing. For the record, I ran into this issue with both Dodi and Fitgirl repacks.

I left my job as an aerospace engineer in September of 2023 to pursue a career in fashion and as of April 2024; my work has endorsed by some of my favorite artists. The best example being that of the 'Fly God' himself. I grew up watching Jeff Hardy fly through the air, Rey Mysterio swing through the ropes & the Undertaker pile people in to the floor. A love that turned in to years of studying martial arts and training to mimic the men I looked up to. Like anyone who "grows up" you're told to leave the toys behind... But that's just it, what makes us unique are the things that pull us back to our childhood and my venture in to the arts has been focused on just that; what would the younger me create? This past January my brother's and I took some [undisclosed substance] at my studio & enjoyed the Royal Rumble as we did when we were kids (minus the psychoactive stuff). Being from Buffalo, NY there are few bigger names around than Westside Gunn, co-founder of Griselda Records, who also happens to be a huge WWE fan. Who else do we spot Ringside other than Westside? Ringside Gunn, Ringside Gunn, Ringside Gunn. Hit by a moment of inspiration I immediately get up and get to work on a piece I had no final vision for. It started off with tailoring the recycled workwear jacket, hemming the length and creating a boxier fit with some jean finish. Then I hit it with a custom Westside graphic where I infused the WWE logo to his name; printed that all over it, sick. Then for the statement piece, the knockout blow; a rare WWE tapestry that I cut & sew on to the jacket to create a Good v. Evil narrative. We've all got duality inside us, it only makes to wear it on our sleeves as well. The result? Randy Orton & John Cena facing off for eternity while CM Punk and my boy Rey Mysterio watch your back. Well great, now I have the jacket, but how do I get it in Westside's hands? That's where the universe (goD) comes in. So many things had to happen in order for the connection to be made, but the work my team at Buffalo Fashion Runway and I had done the 6 months prior laid the foundation for an unforgettable weekend. After asking for a shipping address, we were told to instead hand deliver the piece; phew, okay. The four of us hop in the car & set out for Westside's 'HEELS HAVE EYES' event during Wrestle-mania Weekend in Philadelphia. After a 6 hour drive we landed in the city of brotherly love and jumped straight to the show. Nothing could've prepared us for what's next. We were ushered to the green room backstage, emphasis on green. There couldn't have been a working smoke detector in that place for years, I could barely see across the room. Casually meeting living icons through a hazy fog; The Alchemist, DJ Drama, Conductor Williams sat on the couch like the Mount Rushmore of Musical Production. Then I head him, a voice so singular that god himself could recognize it; game time. We descended some stairs that felt infinite and at the bottom stood our future; a man so centered in his consciousness you could feel it a state over. Can you imagine what it feels like to hand a man an upcycled jacket while he's wearing a full Louis Vuitton fit with a MF Doom pendant so big that you could mistake it for the man himself? Humbling. Lasting for a minute but feeling like a lifetime I got to present the piece & talk a little about what we do in Buffalo. His reaction was something I could've only dreamt of; true elation and appreciation. Walking away from the interaction I wasn't sure I'd ever see the jacket again, but it didn't matter; we were welcomed in to the event like family, our ticket being the work we put in week after week for our city. Fast forward a couple weeks and I wake up to an instagram post by Westside wearing the piece next to Benny the Butcher & The Alchemist. A full post focused solely on the jacket and in that moment I felt the same elation and appreciation I like to think he had when we met. It's not an eye for an eye, but rather when an eye sees an eye that shares a similar mind. So what's the point of this post? I don't really know. I guess I want to inspire you to do something similar. To sit in a quiet room and listen to that voice inside of you. Or maybe you just like that jacket, or maybe you hate the jacket and love Rey Mysterio. I'd love to know what you'd do different, or the same, or not at all. Regardless, we all have a common ground to meet upon & I hope to someday meet anyone who read this and stepped on to their own path. So yesterday there was a post about how text for “Fortuna” and “Pronoea” has been in spiral abyss and domains since near the start of the game. Shoutout to OP for reminding me about this text that I looong forgot about. The post pointed out this about Pronoea:
Tl;dr: Pronoia is Divine Providence. Heimarmene is Fate with a cause-and-effect flavor. Depending on interpretation & belief, Heimarmene is either functionally equivalent to Pronoia, creating universal harmony - or at odds, with Heimarmene as a cosmic oppressor. There maaaay be a musical element to this as well, which would make the Musica Mundana of Genshin even MORE interesting.

Fortuna: in Genshin, this is the fated fall of civilizations, with new ones rising in the ashes of the old. Sybilla adds more details in Remuria flower artifact: “The unfeeling wheel of fate turns, and no matter how mightily you might struggle, you cannot change the inevitable end.” Given this description of a wheel, this is more akin to the Wheel of Fortuna, or Rota Fortunae.
Heimarmene: From a Narzissenkreuz note: "... To receive a Vision is to sell oneself to the "fate" of this world — to Heimarmene, and to evermore lose the chance to walk the correct path.” On wikipedia, heimarmene is “a goddess and being of fate/destiny in Greek mythology (in particular, the orderly succession of cause and effect, or rather, the fate of the universe as a whole, as opposed to the destinies of individual people).” I will note that in my reading thus far, this is a very personified view/definition, and is usually discussed as more of a concept.

Pronoea means "Providence" in latin, but it also has another meaning: "HESIONE PRONOIA (Pronoea) was the Okeanid-nymph wife of the Titan Prometheus. She was a minor goddess of foresight." … "Pronoia was perhaps identified with the goddess Athena who, according to several ancient writers, was worshipped as Athena Pronoia at Delphoi. After the rise of Stoicism, Fate becomes something less physical, more related to conscious purpose. It is not Anankê but Heimarmenê. Like Poimandres, however, the Asclepius also associates the planets and heimarmene: “The so-called seven spheres have the ousiarchai or heads called Fortuna and Heimarmene, whereby all things change according to nature’s law and a steadfast stability that stirs in everlasting variation. (Asclep. 19)” The ousiarchai in this text are a category of gods; heimarmene acts to diversify the cosmos, but in a manner identical with pronoia—that is to say, according to the divine principles of law and stability. The cosmos, here, is neither enslaving nor malevolent.[2]So here heimarmene and pronoia are functionally similar - divine providence and order. Also, this is, so far, one of the only references to Fortuna I see in the heimarmene and pronoia discussion. Alsox2, that last line’s mention of malevolence may seem jarring, but it’s also important to note that in a lot of non-Stoic (e.g. Gnostic or pre-Gnostic) thought, heimarmene had distinct negative connotations:

(You could probably also have a lot of thoughts about HSR OrdeHarmony….) Like, do the gods love us or nah?
In Jonas’s view, however, the development of ‘gnostic cosmic pessimism’ had perverted the providential relationship that, according to Stoicism, the divine could share with the human. In gnosticism as he understood it, “the cosmic logos of the Stoics,” he wrote, was “replaced by heimarmene, oppressive cosmic fate.” Jonas believed that the gnostics, like the Stoics, had borrowed their concept of heimarmene from astrology. But unlike its Stoic prototype, gnostic heimarmene became “tinged with the gnostic anti-cosmic spirit.” Far from the practical action of harmonia on the terrestrial plane, gnostic heimarmene aimed “at the enslavement of man.” The pessimism inherent in gnosticism, Jonas maintained, ensured that pronoia had been completely abandoned as a positive concept; the starry sky’s rule is “tyranny, not providence.”[2]

Facts/assumptions I worked from when I wrote this that I feel confident about

Taylor seemingly didn’t know what was coming with Kanye, and I’m wondering if she wanted to manufacture a canceling via Calvin that would help explain/launch the very different vibes that were coming with Karma. This is pure speculation, but I don’t think it is that wild for someone who likes to control the narrative - and we’ve seen plenty of examples of this when it comes with Taylor - to want a story created before her next album that tied things tougher nicely. But then, the plot got away from her. I don’t think Taylor anticipated how primed the general public was to “turn” on her. Kanye released Famous in February 2016. Kim’s tweet calling Taylor a snake happened very soon after the Calvin incident. I’m guessing they saw an opportunity with some backlash already happening against Taylor and ran with it. Or, perhaps Scooter knew details about Karma and used that information to stop what Taylor had panned. Maybe he was already in contact with Scott B. to buy BM so he also had a vested interest in keeping Taylor closeted. If Scott B knew about Karma, he could pass along relevant information to Scooter. Regardless of the how and why, the planned worked. Taylor didn’t come out, and neither did Karma. Some other snake things that I think support this theory I don’t know if you remember this, because I had forgotten about it until I was working on this post. But when 1989 TV was released, a big deal was made out of one of the ’S’s in Taylor’s Version looking like a snake. The consensus was that she was hinting rep TV was next, but what if she was confirming something else? What if it was a nod to snakes being tied to 1989 because Karma was supposed to come next. Interessssssting This comment by u/Macandcheese359 shows there is a snake on Taylor’s thigh in the LWYMMD music video when she is dressed in orange, in a cage, singing about Karma. In the Karma mv, the image we get right after we see Taylor dressed as Nemesis, the Greek goddess of retribution/revenge, shows Taylor in what looks like hell. This is presented as the two being mirror images of each other or images flipped on their heads. Everyone thought the Nemesis image was connected to 1989 because of the date on the base of the goddesses statue and that this was a clue that reputation TV is coming after 1989 TV. But what if it is also showing that the symbolism for reputation was a reflection of the original Karma symbolism. Karma was supposed to be about rebirth/reinvention (coming out), but that was stopped. Taylor not one to just take defeat, decided with reputation that she wanted to take some control of the narrative back. What better way to do that that then using a lot of the same/similar imagery from her Karma and then turning it into a revenge album. It would have looked the same/similar to Karma but wasn’t. A bonus fun fact that is probably a reach but very fun This post by u/vegancake points out that the TTPD logo upside down might spell out cáil. Which is Celtic for reputation. So perhaps it is a hint Taylor will announce reputation tv when she’s in Dublin. I found this via Google translate Yet another fun fact: Karma in Irish is Karma In the spirt of being a big 🤡 I’m taking this to mean that reputation could also be a “clue” about Karma. Especially if some of the same visuals/motifs that were used in reputation were meant for Karma. Reputation was released on November 10th. The mirror image to that date is October 11th. AKA National Coming out Day. AKA the day there has been a lot of recent theorizing when reputation TV might be released. This would be amazing for so many reasons. As we know, Taylor hasn’t stopped signalling ✌🏻, so perhaps that is the day the reputation TV and Karma are finally coming out. ✌🏻gether |

My gsd has been gone a number of years now, but this may be my favorite story/memory of him...
As this was about 20 years ago, there was a popular computer company (Gateway?) that had TV ads with a distinctive jingle, and an even more distinctive logo/mascot - a black & white spotted cow. Sidenote: My GSD, Boris, actually would watch TV with me. He didn't miss much, when it came to animals. He was smitten with that cow in the computer commercials, and if the TV was on and he could hear the jingle, he would run into the TV room to see the cow, pressing his nose on the screen.
One morning, I was getting ready for work and he was laying in the bathroom doorway as he would, watching me. My clock-radio was playing music in my bedroom. When the radio-station broke for ads, they started playing a new to me/us Gateway(?) computer ad with the familiar jingle. Boris went into high alert, and ran into the bedroom. I knew what got his attention, so I followed him. Because my clock-radio was on a low bedside table, I found him with his nose on top of the clock radio with that same GSD smile, wagging his tail enthusiastically, waiting for the cow to appear.
