2024.05.21 22:22 Aggressive_Judge_134 Sign data with ykpiv library.

Hey there, I am trying to use the internal libraries of yubico-piv-tool to sign a document using my Yubikey 5A without the whole CLI. To achieve that, I explored the codebase, and found that the ykpiv_sign_data function is used for ultimately signing the data after processing it by the wrapper yubico-piv-tool, but when I use the same function, then the generated hash somehow does not get verified by openSSL. The code I implemented is given below,
#include  #include  #include  #include  #include  #include  #include  #include  // max signature size is 72 BYTES for ECC P-156 #define MAX_SIGNATURE_SIZE 72 void signWithYubiKey(unsigned char *hash, unsigned char *signature, size_t *signatureLen) { const char *pin = "123456"; ykpiv_state *state; ykpiv_rc res = ykpiv_init(&state, true); if (res != YKPIV_OK) { fprintf(stderr, "Failed to initialize ykpiv: %s\n", ykpiv_strerror(res)); return; } res = ykpiv_connect(state, NULL); if (res != YKPIV_OK) { fprintf(stderr, "Failed to connect to ykpiv: %s\n", ykpiv_strerror(res)); ykpiv_done(state); return; } res = ykpiv_verify(state, pin, NULL); if (res != YKPIV_OK) { fprintf(stderr, "Failed to verify pin with ykpiv: %s\n", ykpiv_strerror(res)); ykpiv_done(state); return; } size_t hashLen = sizeof(hash); res = ykpiv_sign_data(state, hash, hashLen, signature, signatureLen, YKPIV_ALGO_ECCP256, YKPIV_KEY_SIGNATURE); if (res != YKPIV_OK) { fprintf(stderr, "Failed to sign data with ykpiv: %s\n", ykpiv_strerror(res)); ykpiv_done(state); return; } ykpiv_done(state); } int main() { // Read the entire content of the file into a string std::ifstream dataFile("data.txt"); std::stringstream buffer; buffer << dataFile.rdbuf(); std::string message = buffer.str(); // Compute the SHA-256 hash of the message unsigned char hash[SHA256_DIGEST_LENGTH]; SHA256(reinterpret_cast(message.c_str()), message.size(), hash); // Print the hash printf("\nFILE HASHED: "); for (int i = 0; i < SHA256_DIGEST_LENGTH; i++) { printf("%02x", hash[i]); } printf("\n\n"); // Sign the hash with YubiKey unsigned char signature[MAX_SIGNATURE_SIZE] = {0}; size_t signatureLen = sizeof(signature); signWithYubiKey(hash, signature, &signatureLen); // Print the signature printf("\nSIGNATURE LENGTH: %lu", signatureLen); printf("\nSIGNATURE: "); for (int i = 0; i < signatureLen; i++) { printf("%02x", signature[i]); } printf("\n\n"); // Write the signature to a file // std::ofstream sigFile("signature.sig"); // sigFile.write(reinterpret_cast(signature), 1024); FILE *output_file = fopen("signature.sig", "wb"); fwrite(signature, 1, signatureLen, output_file); fclose(output_file); return 0; }
But, the same works when I use the CLI command,
yubico-piv-tool -a verify-pin --sign -s 9c -H SHA256 -A ECCP256 -i data.txt -o signature.sig -v
As I am using the verbose flag, so I can the hash generated using the SHA256 algo, and it matches the hash I am generating with my code. And moreover, the signature that I generate with my code seems to be of correct length for ECCP-256, around 69 to 72 bytes for each sign, and the printed signature too seems fine.
The openSSL command I use for signature verification is,
openssl dgst -verify public_key.pem -signature signature.sig -sha256 data.txt
It gives out "Verified OK" when I sign with the CLI, and "Verification failure" when I sign with my code.
I can't figure out where the problem lies, so please help me find it.

2024.05.21 22:15 No-Bunch3524 VERSES AI ($VERS) Sets New Standards in AI with Benchmark Tests

VERSES AI ($VERS), a cognitive computing company, is continuing to make big strides in AI. They’ve introduced a research roadmap that outlines the key milestones and benchmarks. This roadmap could revolutionize the development of AI by providing clear goals to measure the progress and importance of $VER's research and development endeavors.
The company plans to use this roadmap this year to monitor its AI progress. Basically, it wants to check whether its approach can be as good as or better than advanced AI models on various industry tests, all while using less data and energy.
By meeting these benchmarks, VERSES can prove that they can create AI that is better, cheaper, and faster. The end goal is to get their AI into more hands through their Genius Platform.
Research Roadmap Highlights:
VERSES’ research roadmap has 3 benchmarks: Classification and generation tasks, Atari 10k Challenge, and NeurIPS 2024 Melting Pot Challenge
The first benchmark, Classification and generation tasks, focuses on proving $VER's approach is better at tasks like recognizing images and creating new ones. By utilizing advanced Bayesian inference techniques, they are trying to show that their method has the ability to outperform traditional deep learning methods. This test is important because it shows whether VERSES can make top-quality AI while being more efficient.
The second benchmark, the Atari 10k Challenge, is all about testing VERSES' AI skills in playing video games. Unlike conventional methods that need a lot of gameplay data, VERSES is trying to play video games almost like a human but with way less practice. $VERS is using active inference to help their AI be super adaptable. And by doing this, they're hoping to raise the bar for how well AI can perform in gaming
Lastly, there’s the NeurIPS 2024 Melting Pot Challenge. This is all about testing how well VERSES' can handle tricky situations where lots of different AI systems need to work together. $VERS wants to show that their AI can understand these complicated situations and work smoothly with other AI systems. Through the use of active inference and explicit representational structures, VERSES aims to become a leader in creating AI systems that can collaborate effectively and tackle complex problems together.
$VERS publicly released this roadmap so the public can track their progress. The roadmap can be accessed here: www.verses.ai/rd-overview

2024.05.21 21:58 Accomplished_Low148 Why targeting Askarov makes more sense than Saros (assuming Marner gets traded for one of them)

1) The contract situation: If we get Saros we're most likely signing him to an extension. I can't see the Leafs trading him at the deadline nor can I see them just letting him walk at the end of the year for nothing. This likely means we're looking at a contract between 6-8 years north of 8 million. This is problematic for a number of reasons:
a) Goalies tend not to age very well. Even generational/hall of fame goalies such as Brodeur, Price and Lundqvist to name a few have trouble playing past 35 whilst being elite and living up to their contract. Signing Saros to a long term contract would mean we're primarily paying him when he's past his prime. This is a big concern.
b) We've been developing Woll for 8 years, and signing Saros to a fat extension pretty much means we've relegated Woll as a secondary option or a trade piece. For someone whose shown so much potential and come up big in key moments, this just doesn't make a lot of sense. Granted, Wolls injury concerns are totally valid but it still doesn't mean we have to give up on him as a Starter entirely.
2) Saros' track record: There's no denying that Saros is a high end goalie, but I think he's being slightly overrated. He's started more than 40 games 3 times in his career, 2 of which were very respectable (but not other worldly) and this past season which was below average. This is in conjunction with a playoff record where he's been below average: -1.2 GSAA and of his 16 playoff starts only half of them have been qualified as a quality start. Playing Goalie in Toronto is extremely challenging and so far in his career Saros just hasn't shown he can carry a team in the playoffs.
3) The benefits of getting Askarov: I've seen people say Nashville would never trade Askarov but they were shopping him last year, and they're looking for a high end forward, so I think it's very realistic they trade him. There would be a lot of benefits if we traded for him instead of Saros:
a) He's on an entry level contract for the next few years which means we'll have 30M this offseason to reshape the team. That would allow us to sign 2 top 4 RD and a 2C like Lindholm and still have 10M to play with to fill out the rest of the team.
b) You can let him and Woll share the net and see who emerges as the true starter. Woll has shown he can make huge saves and play in big moments so having him go 50/50 with Askarov in the regular season and then take the net in the playoffs would be a great short term plan while Askarov gets more experience.
c) If Askarov flourishes and wants a bigger role we own his RFA rights so there's a lot more flexibility in terms of what we can do with him. With Saros, we'd be signing him long term, relegating Woll to a backup and hoping Saros works out. With Askarov, if he outgrows his role we have a good problem with two capable goalies and can flip one for other assets. The flexibility here can't be understated.
4) You dont need a bonafide top 5 goalie to win the cup: This isn't to say having one is bad, just that it's not necessary. With Goaltending, its about getting hot at the right time. Vegas won the cup recently with what was originally a 3rd stringer. Binnington came out of nowhere and carried the Blues in '19, likewise with Matt Murray in 16/17 for the Pens. In his short time here Woll has shown a tendency to just come up huge and make big saves. I remember there was a point this year where he'd stopped like 18-20 shots in a row in 3v3 over multiple games which is impressive when you consider those are all essentially high danger chances. Take that in conjunction with how he played in the playoffs and you can see my point about how you just need someone to make big saves and get hot at the right time, Woll can do that.
Having Askarov and Woll as a tandem would allow for a cheap, flexible option in goal that allows us to spend on other parts of our roster. We don't need either of them to be Vezina winners to have success, just to make key saves and not let a shitty soft goal in. The amount of cap room we would have by taking on Askarov and dumping Marner would allow us to fill every hole we've been talking about for years. We would also likely get other pieces back with Askarov which would help us out even more. If you get a player like Luke Evangelista you've suddenly replaced 45 of Marner's 95 points for 800k.
From Nashville's perspective, they're trying to win a cup and given they can add one of the best RW in the league without moving any contracts out, or removing a player from their roster that finished with nearly 100 points is exactly the kind of trade they'd make. They've wanted a high end forward for years and now they can finally get one, and they'd be trading from a position of strength to make it happen.
For Marner, he can go to one of the most beloved markets for players, get paid as much as he wants, have a low profile and still be on a competitive team.

I realize there are lot more things to try out then just play only sorceress every season, but that is what I do, until I am done. I always think to myself that if I like it, then I will try out other classes more than just what I had experienced during the beta, but I never get to that point.
In short,
positives :
negatives : (not necessarily related to season)
Bugs -
Final thoughts -
Still, S4 is overall a very good change. Best so far

2024.05.21 21:03 Erwinblackthorn Brandon Sanderson is Woke

New Flash everyone: the guy who hangs out with Daniel Greene(a pro-fairy rights socialist), is loved by redditors, and got a Hugo award is… woke. Who would have ever seen that coming? But, thanks to Jon Del Arroz making a video about it on May 18th, I am here to repeat the news back to you so there is an easily accessible source as to HOW he’s woke. Everything was revealed back in January 2023, but I want people to understand the implications and narrative that he’s presenting when he says his concerns about fairy rights. By the end of this, you will realize that people calling themselves Christian does not cause them to be immune to wokeness.
In fact, with how Christianity has influenced wokeness into existence, it’s likely a lot of "Christians" are what we can call “first wave wokeness”.
For context, Brandon Sanderson is a Mormon, part of the Latter-Day Saints (LDS). Mormonism is almost exclusively a US issue, and I’ve also noticed that there are a lot of youtubers who tend to be Mormon women(probably because they have other women in the house to do the chores). These people are great with money, big in business, and their church is anti-fairy. A lot of problems the fairy-rights activists have are with Mormon churches, which is strange for Europeans to witness with how open a lot of their churches are, outside of the US. Protestant, evangelical, unitarian, the national church of Denmark, it’s a big list.
But in 2008, Brandon wrote an essay about his Mormon beliefs on how Dumbledore from Harry Potter liked to have wands stirred around in his brown cauldron. His quote:
How does this relate to Dumbledore? I'm not trying to present him as an antagonist or a villain. All I'm saying is that if you believe in the truth of your message, then you shouldn't care if someone decent, respected, and intelligent is depicted as believing differently from yourself. Decent, respected, and intelligent people can be wrong--and you can still respect them. It's okay. That doesn't threaten our points, since we (theoretically) believe that they are eternal and stronger than any argument we could make.
Back in this time, Brandon had only been an author for 3 years, but he won an award for his first published book, Elantris. He was being careful with his words, and his take is considered liberal. He was trying to defend the backlash JK Rowling received for her (poor) choice of virtue signaling and tried to mend this defense with his own religion. Mentioning his religious views is what got him canceled back then, which he later apologized for in 2011:
I cannot be deaf to the pleas of \[fairy\] couples who want important things, such as hospital visitation rights, shared insurance, and custody rights. At the same time, I accept and sustain the leaders of the LDS church. I believe that a prophet of God has said that widespread legislation to approve \[fairy\] marriage will bring pain and suffering to all involved.
He was not backing down from his religion yet. His goal post moved to the legal ramifications of the US, which are separate from his church(remember, church and state, supposed to be separate in the US), but he was still saying his religion wanted him to oppose people calling it a marriage and having it in churches. This was a second “cancellation” that didn’t go very far, mostly because he was able to use religion as an excuse for his take, with the Christian Cake Packed With Fudge Scandal not happening yet(2018).
Fast forward to 2023, after he hangs out with a bunch of woke youtubers, and we get a new quote from Brandon:
The church’s first prophet, Joseph Smith, famously taught, “I teach them correct principles and they govern themselves.” My current beliefs are where I’ve arrived on my journey, as I attempt to show the love that Jesus Christ taught. I look forward to seeing further changes in the church, and I work to make sure I am helping from within it to create a place that is welcoming of \[fairy\] people and ideas. I would love, for example, to see the church recognize \[fairy\] marriage among its members. Both temporally and eternally. I would support ordaining \[tinkerbell\] men to the priesthood. (And would support the ordination of women, though that is another issue.)
That’s interesting. It seems like he made a complete 180 on his stance, claims that he’s always believed this new stance, blames Jesus for this new stance, and then doubles down on this new stance by adding female ordination(becoming a priest and higher) and even Tinkerbells. As time went on, he decided that his religion was totally wrong about fairies, and this 13 year difference means way more than the nearly 200 years Mormonism has been around. I believe a fellow Mormon, Shadversity, would love to have a discussion about how any of this makes sense, but I’m starting to feel that he’s the same way. Who knows if Ethan Van Sciver understands Mormonism as well as Brandon Sanderson does, with how easy it is to manipulate prophecies and reinterpret scripture.
But that’s been the point for a while, right?
Wokeness is here to restructure both historical evidence and even religions, in order to shift cultures and social institutions to obey this progressive change. Words are changed in the dictionary, social “norms” are changed to be updated for a “modern audience”, and postmodernists like Foucault were able to trick college kids into thinking the Greeks were all pixie fairies. Once a critical theorist gets their hands on something with power, their goal is not to keep it as it is. It is to keep it for themselves. This is why you will hear these people say everything is subjective, which is secret code for “Look at me: I’m the captain of reality now.”
But wait, it gets better! Brandon Sanderson continued with:
Back in 2007, I was mostly known only in my community, not to the world at large. The essay, then, was directed at my local community, and was more controversial among them (for being too liberal) than it was controversial to the world at large for being \[fairy\]phobic. That might surprise you, if you’ve read the excerpts that often float around the internet. This was mostly me trying to encourage other members of the church to be more open and welcoming of \[fairy\] characters and ideas.
That said, the essay does display the casual bigotry common to people who (like myself) have lived lives where we haven’t had to deal with some of the issues common to the lives of people suffering discrimination. Many of the assertions (such as my view on \[fairy\] marriage) do not reflect my current stance. After writing it, and interacting with those who found it objectionable–even painful–I came to understand them and their experiences better. Though they did not owe me that honor, they gave it freely.
You see, he's honored to hear about the life of a bug chaser.
Brandon cares deeply about the pain he caused to his wallet… I mean the fairies who saw his essay. He was an award winning author back then, he didn’t know it would be a global thing. It was supposed to be only seen by people in Utah, that’s it. This is what we call: bullshit. The woke rely heavily on gaslighting and pretending they’re ignorant of everything, while telling others that they need to learn and understand EVERYTHING about a subject before they are even able to mention it.
He was already big on reddit, he knew all about his fandom, and he knew about his publisher, Tor. The only thing that really changed is that now he is unable to stick to being liberal and he has to present himself as progressive. Why? Well, the new Amazon deal happened recently, and he’s the writer of the series The Wheel of Time. As if Rings of Power wasn’t evidence enough of how Amazon mistreats their properties, Brandon was forced to erase his own past, like Agent J in Men in Black, burning his own hands in the process.
I’m not surprised that he’s woke or even that Christians are falling to this woke inquisition. When I said first wave wokeness, I would like to clarify why it’s the catalyst for all of this stupidity. Wokeness is not of Christian values, but instead a parasite upon Christianity, in the same way Gnosticism and Satanism would be. When Christianity started to allow new sects, and a lot of these were considered valid, the crazy sex cults of the 60s opened the floodgates for a bunch of crazy reinterpretations. It’s the same way as how there are still circles of Christianity that go for flat earth theory or say that dinosaurs don’t exist, with these people usually at the forefront of the home-schooling movement.
It’s not that home-schooling is bad by itself, it’s that bad people use it to then have the good people using it be wrongfully grouped into the same area, in the same way gun-ownership does. This type of bastardization has always been a problem in the US, due to the lack of authority over what makes something categorized as such a thing, thanks to liberalism allowing the freedom to constantly change things. As time went on, this liberalism changed into progressivism, with the key difference being that liberalism is an allowance of change while progressivism is an enforced change. The liberalism of the 1800s allowed the Confederates to claim Christianity approved of their enslavement of black people, by blaming the story of Ham and using scripture to claim it was okay to enslave certain people for generations. We always see this strange cherry-picking of scripture from fake Christians, and this problem has expanded into the Vatican itself with the current and following generations of Popes.
A lot of times, we’ll hear news about how Christians are under attack, a bakery is targeted to expose discrimination, or even where people claim they were banned from twitch for being Christian. But what they get wrong is that they are in the same circle as liberal and progressive Christianity, their openness created this weakness to tourism, and most Christian circles have been taken over in the US since before the 60s. The south has a culture of being liberal, Mormons have a culture of being liberal, protestants are very liberal, all because the US began as a liberal culture in the form of classical liberalism. The libertarian argument is always used by these liberal groups, that changes into the progressive enforcement, and over the years these liberal people get infected by the virus.
Add money to the mix, and we have ourselves an endless chain of liberal minded people falling to wokeness. The “redemption” narrative, along with original sin, from Christianity is currently its main weakness. The appeal to ignorance is another weakness, with people playing skeptic as a snake slithers through the grass. Christianity isn’t the problem by itself, it’s the naivety that comes from blind faith, which then expands into a contradictory blind faith that people are good inside, only to later wonder why everything is changing for the worse when evil people are put in charge. Fantasy stories have been under attack by the woke for quite a while, long before they tried to appropriate Tolkien with Rings of Power.
The fantasy that is controlled by the woke is an extension to their attack on religion, because to them a fantasy story is no different than a bible. Mythological presentation, symbolic themes, a dream-like world to present morals to follow; the entire thing has been used by Brandon to then have him later claim that he’s always had fairy characters since the beginning. Sure, his religion says fairies are bad, but then he virtue signals by claiming he’s always made fiction about how they’re good. He would never say this if the publishing world made sense and if publishers were the way they were in the 1950s. That is because he would never have to choose between religion and money back then, with money always mattering more to the typical materialist.
I’m sure people will say that I’m being hard on Christians, or that I’m evil for saying this, or even that I am a satanist for noticing. These people would only be angry at the truth being said, which is the opposite of what Christianity teaches. Fantasy writers, like Brandon, have a lot of supporters, with this support merging between the woke and Mormons. So many feel that they need to make sense of their fandom, so they claim their religion is wokeness, converting it into blind Satanism. This is far from the truth and we need to condemn those who focus solely on radical subjectivity.
Especially if they blame God for their stupid takes, like how Brandon does now.

2024.05.21 21:00 Expensive_Network290 ALUULA (TSXV: $AUUA) Brand Partnerships Growth & Entry Into Multi-Billion Markets

ALUULA (TSXV: $AUUA) stands out in the composite industry, disrupting multi-billion markets with its innovative approach to manufacturing high-performing technical fabrics.
Central to $AUUA’s strategy is its emphasis on forging partnerships with leading brands across various sectors. Through brand partnerships, ALUULA’s cutting-edge technology becomes a brand ingredient in their products.
What sets ALUULA apart is its focus on sustainable materials for a stronger future, made possible by its proprietary fusion technology which enables materials to bond at the molecular level without the need for adhesives. The result is lightweight, durable, waterproof, UV-resistant, and recycle-ready materials that can heat-bond to themselves and be welded into shape, creating unique no-sew construction possibilities.
While ALUULA initially focused on the windsports sector, its success in this field has generated attention and expanded opportunities in other industries. Last year, the company made the strategic decision to enter additional verticals, such as Outdoor, Aerospace, and Sailing sectors, driven by increased demand for its high-performing materials. Overall, ALUULA is targeting a $750 million opportunity across wind sport, aerospace, sailing, and outdoor markets (based on the serviceable obtainable market).
Since then, major brands have launched or are developing their next generation of products using $AUUA. A highlight includes ISPO 2023, where ALUULA revealed new brand partnerships with Arc'teryx, Durston Gear, and Rockgeist. The company’s presence at ISPO was impactful, significantly boosting the company's sales pipeline afterwards.
As of Q1 2024, ALUULA was engaged with over thirty prominent Outdoor brands and onboarded five new wind sport brands bringing the total at the end of the quarter to thirteen. Notable brand partners include Michelin, Black Diamond, Duotone, Vayu, Reddin and Ocean Rodeo. And as of May 3, 2024, $AUUA sold material to 16 wind sports brands (9 on the market), and 12 twelve bag and pack brands (6 have already been commercialized and all 12 launching by early 2025.
Looking ahead, $AUUA is poised for continued growth and expansion this year, following its recent announcement to focus solely on its core business. While wind sports remain a key area with immediate sales potential, the company is strategically shifting its focus towards the larger Outdoor market. Building on the momentum it built during FY2023, ALUULA is well-positioned to capitalize on sales opportunities, expand its product offerings, and further solidify its presence in both the outdoor and its other verticals.

2024.05.21 20:47 pilkingtonsbrain Did you really make a song with Udio?

Imagine Udio compared to an old Yamaha or Casio keyboard. If you press the "demo" button, it will play you a song. Did you make that song? I think we would all agree that you didn't. If you go into Udio and just hit "create", it will also play you a song. Granted, the song will be unique but did you really make a song? I would say no, you did not.
With an old keyboard, you could press a button to play a backing tune and press the keys to trigger chord changes. Would that then be you creating a song? The line starts to become blurred. If you use some basic features in Udio, like describing the song and it's characteristics (live, electronic etc), would that also be considered as making your own song? Again, it's a little more blurry.
If you start using the keyboard in a more in depth way, actually playing the keys and arranging a composition, did you then make a song? It starts to seem more like you did. Same goes with Udio. If you take the time and consideration to use all of it's features to craft a piece of music exactly to your liking, did you make a song? I would say that perhaps yes, you did.
My point here is that "did you make a song" is not a simple yes or no question. What constitutes a song or piece of music? How much input and decision making is required for the song to be considered legitimately "yours"?
As more features and tools get implemented into Udio (which I seriously hope they do) then users can have more control and input into the end result, which at some point can be considered as though YOU made the song.
At the moment we are in the early stages of this tech. Are we making songs yet or are we just pushing the demo button?
I believe we have enough tools within Udio right now to "make your own song", but that doesn't stop casuals just pushing the demo button anyway. It seems to me there exists a majority of songs being made in Udio that are from people using it in this way, but there are also those that use it in a more considered way as a tool to "make their own song" as well.
Where will this all lead us? What features are in the works? What will the next generation of this tech be like? As a hobby musician/producer, I am excited to have as much control as possible over how Udio generates its content. If Udio were a fully integrated VST plugin for my DAW that has tonnes of producer friendly features then producers/musicians using this kind of tool will almost certainly be considered as using Udio to make their own music in my opinion. Right now, I think we're half way there

[Update] Semaphorin - Checkm8 blobless tether downgrade tool
Semaphorin uses mineek/seprmvr64 (github.com) to tether downgrade your device without blobs by patching out sep
Official repo: https://github.com/y08wilm/Semaphorin
I should first start off by saying, thank you Mineek, LukeZGD, and TheRealClarity for all your help in the development of this project. It is greatly appreciated, and a lot of this would have not been possible without you. Mad respect.
We released this project a few months ago on Reddit, and it ended up being a flop due to endless bugs it had at the time. So, between then and now, we spent countless hours working out all the bugs and adding new features.
This is a checkm8 downgrade tool that allows you to, as of now, tether downgrade any a7-a11 device to just about any version of iOS without any need for blobs. This includes devices that are running iOS 16 or 17 prior to downgrade. Yes, you heard that right, we now support iPhone 8, 8+, and iPhone X as well as devices running iOS 16 or 17.
https://preview.redd.it/uo8slx6oqt1d1.png?width=724&format=png&auto=webp&s=65e460ddcac0af950b2fc0b1286bc104fe032ba9
We made release posts for semaphorin in the past, but those were betas and were plagued with bugs. we have spend countless hours fixing all the bugs with semaphorin. if you have any issues you can reach out to me on discord, my username is ka7hrtp
Some of the most notably changes
  • You can now downgrade even if your device is running iOS 16 or later prior to downgrade
  • We now support a10x and a11 devices in addition to a7-a10 devices
  • Camera, photos apps are fixed
  • Usb related issues have been addressed, especially for a7 devices
  • iOS 9 support, even for a9 devices, including the iPhone 6s and iPhone SE
  • iOS 8 support for a8 devices, including the iPhone 6
That is just a few of hundreds of changes from the last reddit post we made until now
https://preview.redd.it/qew09pkcrt1d1.png?width=732&format=png&auto=webp&s=d1380446be15f22ccdbe072db4cc5b2799868b06

Please avoid using the gui version of Semaphorin!! It is for demonstration purposes only, and can be especially hard to use on devices running iOS 16 or later prior to downgrade. You should use the terminal version instead. If you are reaching out to us for support, do expect to be told to switch to the terminal version if you were using the gui. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

How do I use this?

This script deletes everything on your phone, including the main OS if you are not downgrading to iOS 10.3.3 or later. Make sure to backup all of your data before using this script as **anything on the device prior to running this script will be unrecoverable afterwards**. Use this script at your own risk. We are not responsible for any damages caused by you using this script.
To use this app, you need to downgrade to a supported version, and have a supported device.
`xcode-select install` to install `git` on macos
`git clone https://github.com/y08wilm/Semaphorin && cd Semaphorin`
Connect device in DFU mode
`sudo ./semaphorin.sh --restore`
For example you may write `sudo ./semaphorin.sh 9.3 --restore`
The script has to backup important files from your current iOS version before you can downgrade.
When the script asks `[*] Please enter the iOS version that is currently installed on your device.`, type your current iOS version and then hit the Enter key to continue.
It should then begin the process of downgrading your device. Please follow the on screen instructions. This might take a while. Your device will reboot multiple times.

Subsequent runs after downgrade is finished

Connect device in DFU mode
`sudo ./semaphorin.sh --boot`
For example, if you downgraded to iOS 9.3, you would run `sudo ./semaphorin.sh 9.3 --boot`.
It should just boot to your requested iOS version normally.

2024.05.21 20:45 Duchess_Aria We need more myth crates!!! And why you should save your myth crates: the math

The myth cards unlocks key storylines in the game. And if you're into the combat portion of the game, having myth pairs unlocks legendary companions and weapons. These are crucial in farming diamonds from the Senior Hunting Contest and climbing Orbital Trials.
Personally, I do not purchase level-up resources (outside the discount event packs and Secret pass), and I have achieved 36/36 medals in the last Senior Hunting Contest (HERE), using mostly level 60-65 cards (not ranked up) and +3/6/9 protocores. But when I swapped out the myth companions for the regular ones, I can only get 30/36 with the exact same cards/stats on the team (myth and all).
On both of my F2P accounts, if I don’t use any myth cards or companions, I can only get 21/36 (530 diamonds) after 2–3 months of play. If I were to have all the myth pairs (unranked) on those accounts, I estimate I can get 30-33 medals while using only lunar 4* and 5* found in the permanent bannewishing well (at least until Paper decides to add in power creep). For reference, 33 medals will give you all 840 diamonds from the SHC.
This illustrates how crucial myth cards are. Lunar 5* will give more stats, but myth 5* will give you overpowered companions.

“Great, so how do I get myth cards?”

The current Lumiere event is the only chance to acquire Xavier's time-limited myth pair (as of now), and next month Zayne's time-limited myth pair will be released. See (HERE) for a post on how much wishes/diamonds are needed to guarantee the pairs.
The regular myth cards can also be found in the permanent banner. Players will receive two free SSR Myth crates from the permanent banner, one at the 150th pull and again at the 300th pull.
The chance of getting a 5* is 1%, meaning the statistical average is one random 5* in every 100 wishes. With the pity system, the chance in total increases to 2%, meaning the statistical average is one 5* every 50 wishes or 7500 diamonds. (Fun fact: in the Top Up section of the shop, spending $100 USD will get you enough diamonds for a bit over 50 rolls, which is the statistical cost of one 5*)
There are fifteen 5* in the permanent banner, and six of those cards are solar myth cards. Thus, the chance of hitting any random myth card is 40% (6/15).
Below are the chances of getting a non-duplicate myth card when you pull a 5* from the permanent banner. For each myth crate you prematurely open, your chances of completing the set decreased, and your statistical cost increases.
Scenario 1: when you save both your SSR myth crates
1st myth card: 6/15 = 40% (statistical average: 125 wishes or 18,750 diamonds)
2nd myth card: 5/15 = 33.3% (statistical average: 150 wishes or 22,500 diamonds)
3rd myth card: 4/15 = 26.7% (statistical average: 188 wishes or 28,200 diamonds)
4th myth card: 3/15 = 20% (statistical average: 250 wishes or 37,500 diamonds)
5th myth card: from crate
6th myth card: from crate
Total statistical average: 713 wishes or 106,950 diamonds
Scenario 2: when you save one of your SSR myth crate
1st myth card: from crate
2nd myth card: 5/15 = 33.3% (statistical average: 150 wishes or 22,500 diamonds)
3rd myth card: 4/15 = 26.7% (statistical average: 188 wishes or 28,200 diamonds)
4th myth card: 3/15 = 20% (statistical average: 250 wishes or 37,500 diamonds)
5th myth card: 2/15 = 13.3% (statistical average: 375 wishes or 56,250 diamonds)
6th myth card: from crate
Total statistical average: 963 wishes or 144,450 diamonds
Scenario 3: when you don’t save any SSR myth crates
1st myth card: from crate
2nd myth card: from crate
3rd myth card: 4/15 = 26.7% (statistical average: 188 wishes or 28,200 diamonds)
4th myth card: 3/15 = 20% (statistical average: 250 wishes or 37,500 diamonds)
5th myth card: 2/15 = 13.3% (statistical average: 375 wishes or 56,250 diamonds)
6th myth card: 1/15 = 6.7% (statistical average: 750 wishes or 112,500 diamonds)
Total statistical average: 1563 wishes or 234,450 diamonds
※Please note: This chart is for comparative use only. It is generally NOT advised to spend diamonds in the permanent banner. Save them for the limited banners instead!
In summary, saving the myth crates gives most players the best chance of collecting all the myth cards and myth companions. And for players who are looking to rank up all the myth cards, this will likely save a lot of money in the process.

“Nooo! I’ve already used up all my crates!”

Which is why we need to demand Papergames for more myth crate rewards. It’s completely unreasonable to lock such crucial parts of the gameplay (lore and combat wise) behind a RNG system with no end in sight. The statistical average means absolutely nothing if the RNG gods hate your guts in particular.
One more myth crate at the 450th pull and another at the 600th pull is completely fair.

Love and Deepspace have made more than $200 million USD in revenue so far:

Tl;dr: Save both your SSR Myth crates until you are two cards away from completion. And Papergames can afford to give us 2 more crates.

2024.05.21 20:43 JYA_Painter Homebrew Lore!

Homebrew Lore!
So my OCD has gotten away with itself a bit and in an effort to decide on a colour scheme for my Tau I’ve had to come up with some lore about where they are and with the help of chat GPT to keep things coherent I’ve accidentally started writing a short book!
Here’s the first chapter for anyone who’s interested, I’d love to hear some feedback
Formation of the Fal’Niaa Dominion
Chapter 1: The Shattered Gulf
Deep within the desolate void of the Damocles Gulf lies the hidden and bountiful world of Dáesos. This world, once a vital stronghold for the Imperium, provided sanctuary and resupply for imperial forces traversing the Gulf. Known in High Gothic as Dáesos, it was a beacon of hope in an otherwise harsh and unyielding region of space. However, by 999.M41, Dáesos had been reclassified as a death world and erased from Imperial maps and records.
The beginning of Dáesos' downfall came with the catastrophic arrival of a rogue space hulk that crashed into the system. From its wreckage emerged a horde of savage greenskins, the Orks, who poured out in an unending wave of violence. The relentless fighting that ensued led to the rapid spread of ork spores across the planet. One by one, the citadels that had stood as bastions of human civilization fell to the green tide. The lush forests that had sustained Dáesos for centuries began to reclaim the fallen citadels, and an eerie silence fell over the once-thriving world, broken only by the sounds of the wild reclaiming its domain.
By the time the first Tau set foot on Dáesos, the Beg’el population had devolved into savage tribes warring for territory whilst the humans fought daily to hold onto the few citadels they had left. It was Shas’O Monat’ai’s fateful descent that marked the beginning of the Fal’nia Dominion, setting the stage for a new era on Dáesos.
Shas’O Monat’ai and his cadre found themselves adrift in the endless void of the Damocles Gulf after their sept world was overrun by the greenskin Be’gel. Their desperate calls for aid were met with hollow reverence, honoring their sacrifice for the Greater Good. The Tau Empire, in its strategic calculus, deemed the entire sector—once a crucial launching point for defectors venturing into the forbidden zone—a liability. As a result, the sector was cut off from all resupply, condemning hundreds of loyal fringe septs to desolation.
The realization of this abandonment struck hard. As Monat’ai’s fleet attempted to return to friendly sept space, they were intercepted by mysterious Tau craft bearing no sept iconography. These enigmatic ships, ruthless and efficient, obliterated the fleeing vessels. Only Monat’ai’s command, aboard an experimental void craft capable of bursts of faster-than-light travel, managed to escape the slaughter.
The escape was bittersweet. Saved from the certain destruction that claimed the rest of his sept, Monat’ai now grappled with the haunting realization that he might have led his people to an even worse fate. The battle had inflicted significant damage on their ship, and the subsequent jump into the void took a heavy toll. Their experimental craft, once a beacon of hope, was now a fragile lifeline drifting through the endless blackness at a snail’s pace, leaving Monat’ai’s cadre at the mercy of fate.
After many tau’cyr drifting through the void, long after the crew of Monat’ai’s ship had gone into stasis to conserve resources, a strange energy signature was picked up by one of the ship’s long-range sensors. The ship’s artificial intelligence, ever vigilant, made the necessary course adjustments and began the journey to the Dáesos system.
As the silent vessel neared the anomaly, a system of dead worlds slowly came into view. In place of a centralized star, these worlds orbited the planet Dáesos itself, which was shrouded in a thick atmosphere of radiated gases. The unique ecosystem of Dáesos was revealed as the ship drew closer. Unlike typical planets, Dáesos lacked a central star to provide heat and light. Instead, the flora and fauna on the surface received energy from a mesmerizing aurora that danced across the sky, generated by the interaction of the planet’s magnetic field with its thick atmosphere.
Cavernous, flooded hollows dotted the surface of Dáesos, emitting radiation in a cyclical pattern. These hollows would heat for approximately six months, creating a prolonged day period, and then cool for an equal period, plunging the planet into an extended night. This extreme day-night cycle had forced the plant life on Dáesos to adapt in remarkable ways. The surface was covered by a creeping moss that spread onto any available surface during the day periods. As its roots took hold, the moss released enzymes that broke down both organic and inorganic matter, creating nutrients stored for the colder night cycle. From this moss sprouted a variety of flowers and large leaves, which performed photosynthesis and provided food for the vast ecosystem that thrived within its domain.
The symbiotic relationship between the plant life and a pervasive fungal root system was particularly intriguing. This fungus covered the entire planet, acting as a vast, interconnected network that distributed nutrients and communicated environmental changes. The creeping moss, during the day, would produce vibrant flowers and large leaves, creating a lush, verdant landscape. As the night cycle approached, these plants would retract, conserving their energy and resources.
As Monat’ai’s ship settled into high orbit above Dáesos, its long-range scanners began mapping the topography of the world below. Awakened from stasis by the ship's artificial intelligence, Monat’ai was greeted with a holographic readout of the planet, revealing its rich deposits of resources and potential dangers lurking on its surface.
Recognizing the threats posed by this alien world, Monat’ai decided to lead a small strike force of Fire Warriors into one of the overgrown, abandoned citadels located in the southern hemisphere. The citadel's structure was formidable, with enormous concentric walls encircling labyrinthine streets, towering habitation blocks, and miles of subterranean tunnels.
Monat’ai surmised that if he and his team could infiltrate the innermost wall of the citadel—an area least reclaimed by nature—they could secure a foothold for the rest of his cadre to arrive from orbit. Moving with precision and stealth, Monat’ai and his Fire Warriors prepared to descend into the depths of the ancient, forgotten stronghold, ready to face whatever challenges awaited them in the shadows of Dáesos.
Though it would have been far simpler to drop directly into the central ring from orbit, Monat’ai’s scanners revealed that many of the anti-air defenses littering the rooftops of the desolate buildings were still active. Realizing that a direct airborne approach was nearly impossible, the cunning commander opted for a different strategy.
He decided to lead his team through a breach in the eastern wall. Utilizing Devilfish transports, they would navigate safely and swiftly through the crumbling, overgrown ruins of the once bustling citadel streets. This approach would allow them to bypass the formidable air defenses and infiltrate the citadel more covertly, ensuring their mission's success.
Once inside the central wall, strike teams swiftly secured the control stations responsible for the defense grid, disabling the air defenses and allowing the rest of the cadre to land uncontested.
Over the following two tau’cyr, Monat’ai and his people worked tirelessly to fortify the central ring. Earth Caste engineers dismantled the voidcraft that had brought them to Dáesos, repurposing the components to construct advanced security systems and camouflaging fields around their new stronghold. As their defenses solidified, scouting parties were dispatched into the wider citadel to secure additional viable land.
Monat’ai felt a glimmer of hope for his people, now hidden from the empire that had treated them with such disregard. However, unknown to the enigmatic commander, danger lurked just beyond the horizon, threatening the fragile sanctuary they had built.
The Mon’La contingent
In the aftermath of the Farsight Rebellion and the formation of the Enclave worlds, the Damocles Gulf was designated a forbidden zone. The sept worlds on the edge of the Gulf, as well as the forces operating within, were deemed expendable and abandoned to stem the tide of defectors using these worlds as a launching point. Left to fend for themselves, these worlds became isolated in the void.
To ensure this region remained benign, a highly secretive contingent was formed on N’dras and deployed into the Gulf with a mission to purge the area of defectors from the Greater Good. This merciless force was led by the lethally skilled yet widely unknown Shas’O Ranerra. Various Imperial records strongly suggest that he is the same commander known throughout the region as "The War Ghost."
The War Ghost earned his ominous title by appearing in the heart of raging conflicts, often turning the tide with a lethal assassination or a devastating blow to enemy supply lines. Though his true agenda remains shrouded in mystery, his presence on the battlefield heralds a storm of carnage and slaughter. His soot-black visage streaks through the skies, while the ash-white armored forces of his contingent attack from unseen angles, striking with deadly precision before vanishing like phantoms.
Traversing the Damocles Gulf in cutting-edge voidcraft outfitted with advanced mirror fields and reconnaissance systems, the Mon’La cadre became the apex predator of the region. When the forbidden zone was first declared, Shas’O Ranerra and his forces were sent into the fringes of the Gulf to seek out any Tau settlements that had chosen to remain.
Utilizing his strategic genius, Ranerra orchestrated cataclysms and rebellions across the sector. He assassinated key commanders and diplomats, collapsing entire civilizations from within and baiting Imperial and Be’gel forces into sector-wide genocides. His cunning tactics and ruthless efficiency left a trail of chaos and destruction, further isolating the Damocles Gulf.
Between conflicts, Ranerra and his cadre employed experimental stasis technology to keep themselves youthful and battle-ready at all times. While they slept, advanced artificial intelligence systems monitored their health and any external threats. Long-range reconnaissance drones continuously fed back vital information on potential targets in the sector.
Ranerra and a few of his most trusted commanders opted for a different kind of stasis—one that slowed their metabolism to a near halt while keeping their minds fully active. This allowed them to remain ever vigilant, honing their tactical doctrines over many lifetimes. In this state, they were able to plan and anticipate every move, ensuring the Mon’La cadre remained an unstoppable force in the shadows of the forbidden zone.

2024.05.21 20:42 MrCloudGoblin Secure way for Creating Cloud Infrastructure via API and CI/CD

Hey,
What is the most secure approach to creating GCP infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform and CI/CD pipelines, specifically focusing on authentication methods and best practices? Would you create it via a Service Account with the right IAM permissions? If yes, my follow-up question would be how can you hide your Service Account Key in your repository (like GitLab) so I wouldn't expose it to other people, even though the repo is private?
Cheers!
