2024.05.08 10:40 Memo-Sobhy Accessing Modem in Bridge Mode Behind MikroTik Router

Hello everyone,
I'm facing a technical challenge with my network setup and could use some assistance. I have a ZTE H288A modem set to bridge mode and it's connected to a MikroTik router via Ether1. In the modem, I've disabled DHCP, NAT, WLAN, and the Firewall to properly function in bridge mode. On the MikroTik router, I've successfully configured a PPPoE client on Ether1, and my internet connection is working fine.
● The Problem: I'm unable to access the modem's interface from my network. The modem's IP is fixed at 192.168.1.1, and my MikroTik LAN is using the 192.168.88.x range. I tried assigning the IP 192.168.1.3/24 to Ether1 on the MikroTik to establish a direct path to the modem but had no success in reaching the modem's interface.
● What I've tried so far:
1. Assigning IP to Ether1: I set up 192.168.1.3/24 on Ether1, assuming it would allow communication with the modem.
2. Routing Configuration: I added a route in MikroTik to direct traffic for 192.168.1.0/24 via 192.168.1.3, intending this setup to route traffic correctly to the modem.
3. Firewall Checks: Ensured no firewall rules are blocking traffic between the 192.168.88.x network and the 192.168.1.x network.
4. I also tried: to ping 192.168.1.1 from the MikroTik, and it pinged fine, but when I attempted to ping from my local computer, which has a MikroTik range IP of 192.168.88.x, using cmd, the request timed out. I also tried to force route acceptance with these two rules: ``` /ip firewall filter add action=accept chain=input dst-address=192.168.1.1 place-before=0 /ip firewall filter add action=accept chain=forward dst-address=192.168.1.1 place-before=0
``` Additionally, I disabled all firewall rules because it was possible that some rule was blocking the traffic, but it still did not work. Note that it was working previously when the PPPoE session was configured on the modem and the MikroTik was just an input interface.
Despite these configurations, I still can't access the modem at 192.168.1.1. I can ping external addresses from the MikroTik and devices connected to the LAN, so internet connectivity isn’t the issue here. The primary challenge is accessing the modem’s configuration interface through the MikroTik network.
Has anyone encountered a similar issue or have any insights on what might be going wrong or what else I could try? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!
2024.05.05 00:16 Memo-Sobhy PPPoE Failover Issues with MikroTik
PPPoE Failover Issues with MikroTik
Overview: I'm facing a challenge with PPPoE failover in my current network setup. Here’s the configuration and the issues I’m encountering:
Network Setup:
Devices:
• Router 1: TP-Link connected via DSL cable From Orange ISP (Ether1 on MikroTik)
• Router 2: TP-Link connected via DSL cable From Vodafone ISP (Ether2 on MikroTik)
Configuration:
• PPPoE: Configured on each TP-Link router for their respective ISPs
• DHCP and WLAN: Disabled on both TP-Link routers
• DMZ: Enabled on both TP-Link routers to slave them to the MikroTik router
IP Assignments:
• ether1-Orange Line: 192.168.1.3 on Mikrotik
• ether2-Vodafone Line: 192.168.0.3 on Mikrotik
• Load Balancing: Configured using PCC on MikroTik
• Failover: The current failover only works when manually disconnecting or disabling an interface
Problem Description: The primary issue is with the failover mechanism. It fails to detect PPPoE disconnections from the ISP directly. The failover only works if I manually unplug the Ethernet cable or disable the interface on the MikroTik router. This leads to Internet outages even if one of the ISPs is still up.
Need Help With:
• Automated PPPoE Failover: Looking for a way to automatically detect PPPoE outages and switch to the other line.
• Reliable Failover Configuration: Ensuring uninterrupted internet connectivity in case of an ISP failure.
2024.04.27 10:35 snRNA2123 Having trouble with Aerohive AP230 CLI configuration
Hey all, I have been having issues getting some Aerohive AP230s to work via CLI configuration. The configuration I am trying to do is very simple I feel like, but I must be missing something and am hoping someone can help me out.
My current setup is I have a router with the LAN that I am trying to turn into a wifi signal on VLAN 29. I also have DHCP services running on this router to serve all the clients that connect to it. I have an ethernet connection from the router to a Dell managed switch where VLAN 29 is trunked to the switch. Then, I have a port that is untagged with VLAN 29 that is connected to the AP. From everything I can find online, this setup in addition to my simple configuration below should work in getting a wireless network up. I am able to see and connect to the Wifi, but the Wifi just isn't connected to anything else (i.e. it can't reach the router and vice versa). I have also confirmed there are no firewall rules that would be preventing anything, I have everything completely open on this interface at the moment.
Here is my configuration, it is really simple:
radio profile Wifi1
radio profile Wifi1 band-steering enable
radio profile Wifi1 weak-snr-suppress enable
radio profile Wifi1 band-steering mode prefer-5g
security-object Wifi1
security-object Wifi1 security protocol-suite wpa2-aes-psk ascii-key ***
ssid Home_Wifi
ssid Home_Wifi security-object Wifi1
interface wifi0 ssid Home_Wifi
interface wifi1 ssid Home_Wifi
system led power-saving-mode
system led brightness off
no capwap client enable
Does anyone have any insight as to what I might be missing here? I have been staring at this and trying new things and troubleshooting for almost 8 hours now and feel like I"m missing one tiny thing either in the config or my setup, but I just can't seem to find out what.
Thanks all.
Electromagnetic Compatibility Challenges and Solutions for Industrial Ethernet Switches
With the rapid development of industrial Internet and the wide application of industrial automation, industrial Ethernet switches, as the core equipment of data communication, play a vital role in industrial control systems. However, the accompanying electromagnetic interference issues pose challenges to the stability and reliability of industrial Ethernet switches. This article will delve into the electromagnetic compatibility challenges faced by industrial Ethernet switches and propose solutions to ensure the stable operation of industrial communication systems.
1. Background of electromagnetic compatibility challenges
Electromagnetic interference is a common problem in industrial environments, originating from various electrical equipment, high-voltage lines, electromagnetic radiation, etc. These interference sources may have adverse effects on industrial Ethernet switches and their connected devices, leading to serious consequences such as communication interruption, data loss, and system crashes. Therefore, it is crucial to ensure that industrial Ethernet switches have good electromagnetic compatibility.
2. The main manifestations of electromagnetic compatibility challenges
The electromagnetic compatibility challenges faced by industrial Ethernet switches mainly manifest in the following aspects:
Communication interruption caused by electromagnetic interference: When industrial Ethernet switches are affected by surrounding electromagnetic interference, it may cause interference in communication signals, resulting in communication interruption or instability.
Data transmission error: Electromagnetic interference may cause data transmission errors, resulting in packet loss or damage, affecting the reliability and integrity of communication data.
Equipment failure and damage: Long term exposure to electromagnetic interference may cause industrial Ethernet switches and their connected equipment to malfunction or be damaged, thereby affecting production operations.
Electromagnetic compatibility challenges and solutions for industrial Ethernet switches
3. Key technologies to address electromagnetic compatibility challenges
To address the electromagnetic compatibility challenges faced by industrial Ethernet switches, a series of key technologies and measures need to be taken:
EMI (Electromagnetic Interference) Suppression Technology: By using anti-interference circuits and filters in the design, the impact of electromagnetic waves on the switch is reduced, and its anti-interference ability is improved.
Shielding design: Add a shielding layer to the shell and internal circuits of the switch to block external electromagnetic interference and protect internal electronic components from interference.
Ground wire design: Reasonably design the ground wire structure to ensure good grounding connection of equipment, reduce ground potential difference, and reduce the impact of electromagnetic interference.
Electromagnetic compatibility testing: Conduct electromagnetic compatibility testing during the design and production process of the switch to ensure that the product complies with relevant standards and specifications and has good anti-interference ability.
4. Application cases of electromagnetic compatibility solutions
Many industrial Ethernet switch manufacturers have developed solutions to address the electromagnetic compatibility challenges of industrial Ethernet switches and have achieved success in practical applications. For example:
Using anti-interference materials: Some industrial Ethernet switch manufacturers have used special anti-interference materials in the shell and internal circuits of the switch, effectively reducing the impact of electromagnetic interference.
Optimized layout design: By optimizing the layout design of industrial Ethernet switches, interference between internal circuits is reduced, and the anti-interference ability of equipment is improved.
Enhanced shielding measures: The shielding layer of the industrial Ethernet switch housing and internal circuits has been added, effectively blocking external electromagnetic interference and protecting the stable operation of the equipment.
5. Future prospects of electromagnetic compatibility solutions
With the continuous development of industrial Internet and the popularization of industrial automation, industrial Ethernet switches will face more complex and severe electromagnetic compatibility challenges. In the future, we can expect industrial Ethernet switch manufacturers to continue increasing their research and development investment, continuously improving the anti-interference ability of industrial Ethernet switches, and providing more reliable guarantees for the stable operation of industrial communication systems.
Electromagnetic compatibility is one of the important challenges faced by industrial Ethernet switches, but it can also be addressed and resolved through reasonable technical means and solutions. Through continuous research and practice, we believe that the performance of industrial Ethernet switches in electromagnetic compatibility will continue to improve, providing more reliable support for the stable operation of industrial communication systems.
I am running ethernet cable and for EMI interference reasons I want to run it perpendicular to floor joists on the bottom of the joists to keep it away from running parallel to new romex I am also installing. I did pull a permit for the new romex I am running that will be run parallel on the side of the house's main beam.
This area will be behind drywall and that won't be a problem since there is a framed bumpout for the ductwork.
Drawbacks of having an ideal Ethernet that needs improvement(2)
Leave a Comment / By WeishaZhu and 刘教链 / June 7, 2023
In the previous article, “Why hasn’t Ethereum’s market value caught up with Bitcoin?” we analyzed the issue of Ethereum’s valuation. This post is a sequel to the previous one.
The unique value of Ethereum
1. Vitali’s idealistic spirit
First of all, we must admire Vitalik’s courage. He did an immensely colossal project that Satoshi Nakamoto did not dare to do. The probability of failure of this project is greater than the probability of success, but after struggling for 5 years, I began to see hope of success. If this is an investment project, investors must look at the team. If this Ethereum project will develop for 5-10 years, it is still relatively early. Therefore, the team’s idealism is still very critical. The author read the report of their foundation and found that they could consciously accept market supervision without the requirements of regulatory agencies, adhere to the spirit of openness and transparency, and maintain a tiny team, which can be said to be fully developed. The spirit of Bitcoin. Idealists may not necessarily succeed, but if they are not idealists, they will definitely not succeed. Because if you focus too much on interests in the early days, it will make people short-sighted.
2. Free automatic storage and settlement ecological platform
Is there such a platform in Web2? Web1 and Web2 financial platforms are closed, and they both regard the platform and users as their private property. In Web2, the best platform should be YouTube, but it is only a platform for podcasters, far from being an ecosystem. The country is also an ecology. To understand the concept of ecology, you can refer to the country. However, the country still lags far behind the Ethereum ecology regarding critical indicators such as transparency and management costs, highlighting the generation gap. Ethereum, like Bitcoin, is a pioneering project in human history. It will change the entire financial landscape. It is characterized by greatly improving personal freedom and attaching importance to individual rights, such as personal management of personal money. Ethereum is closer to “public ownership.” It has clear rules for realizing personal interests, and it is not anyone’s private property and belongs to the owners of Ethereum. All operations in Ethereum are programmed, and system programs and ledgers are transparent. Transparency creates credibility.
Also, humans do not have a trusted notary institution similar to Ethereum.
3. Foundations support entrepreneurs
Ethereum pioneered the ecological support fund model, providing unlimited imagination for poor entrepreneurs.
4. Solve the problems that Bitcoin did not solve
We can understand the Bitcoin system as the Bitcoin issuance system, while the Ethereum system implements currency issuance and is an ecosystem.
Satoshi Nakamoto reserved much instruction code space to implement his vision in Bitcoin’s script language. Still, for the sake of security, he did not do any further related work because it was challenging to do it well. However, the young people working on Ethereum have no baggage, and they have made improved innovations. If the Ethereum team solves the problem well, Ethereum should have a higher market value than Bitcoin. It is what people expected from Ethereum in 2017. Ethereum did not meet the market’s expectations. Although the Ethereum team did not meet expectations, its direction is good, and the opportunities remain.
5. Boldly convert POW consensus to POS consensus
As an ecological platform, issuing coins is not its main task; reducing accounting fees is its top priority. It is difficult for one platform to complete two tasks simultaneously. Satoshi Nakamoto’s advantage is that he has the right to make the first choice. He chose easy-to-solve problems to solve first but left complex issues for future generations. Vitalik, like Satoshi Nakamoto, has excellent intuition. He defied all opinions and finally kicked the miners out smoothly. Ethereum no longer needs to be mined, and the ETH’s requirements are enough for the POS model. It leaves only one task: accounting.
6. The ideal of sharding
Implementing sharding can significantly expand the capacity of Ethereum, making Ethereum no longer congested, thereby reducing handling fees, making many impossible projects a reality, and becoming an important foundation for Web3.
Ethereum’s major flaws
1. Comments on the Vitalik team’s knowledge deficiencies
Because the knowledge structure of Vitalik’s team was too single and they were not as comprehensive as Satoshi Nakamoto, some problems arose when realizing their vision. The author wrote in the previous article, “Why doesn’t Ethereum’s market value catch up with Bitcoin?” (chainless.hk) lists 11 issues. Technical capabilities are the strength of the Ethereum technical team, so they will pay great attention to technical problems and solve them step by step.
Generally speaking, shortcomings determine value, and solving faults can increase value. Earlier, we said that to restore the stored value of Ethereum is to solve the problem of unclear definition and self-limitation of Ethereum currency. These problems are not technical problems but financial problems. The reason why these problems are not solved is that they don’t know much about finance. Vitalik said, “The biggest difference between Ethereum and Bitcoin is that Bitcoin is a platform, and its ecosystem’s value comes from the currency’s value. But in Ethereum, the currency’s value comes from the ecosystem’s value.”
(https ://www.bitpush.news/articles/3662466). This sentence is very famous and widely circulated. The key to the problem is that it means Ethereum itself has no currency storage value, and the value of Ethereum comes from its platform. The market directly drove the stored value of Ethereum to zero. Vitalik doesn’t understand that since Ethereum is so scarce, why doesn’t the market recognize it? Because he does not even recognize the stored value of Ethereum. Judging from his subsequent operations, he did not deliberately protect the stored value of Ethereum.
The second problem with this sentence is that the Bitcoin system is a tool for issuing Bitcoins. It is a device for mining Bitcoins. The Bitcoin system does not have smart contracts, nor does it have a platform or an ecosystem; Bitcoin does not represent the value of the Bitcoin system, let alone that the value of the Bitcoin ecosystem comes from Bitcoin. Just like gold, it does not represent the value of the gold mining system. This sentence reflects Vitalik’s insufficient understanding of Bitcoin and the system. As an ecological platform, the Ethereum system also comes with a cumbersome production tool. Do you think it’s ridiculous, like a gold company that has to carry a heavy excavator when it wants to circulate various currencies? Therefore, abolishing POW mining is an inevitable choice.
This sentence illustrates that Vitalik’s correct decision-making does not come from his theoretical cultivation but from his intuition. Young people’s intuition is significant when they are inexperienced. If he were not an idealist, he would not have developed intuition by being devoted and dedicated and would have been defeated by the colorful world long ago. God cares for those who have great love in their hearts.
Vitalik failed to understand that the value of ETH can exist independently of the value of the Ethereum system. ETH itself has stored value, and the value of ETH does not only come from its ecosystem. The calculation methods of stored value and ecological value are different. He paraphrased the way Bitcoin trades, Bitcoin is not wrong, but they are wrong. The author wrote in “Invite Satoshi Nakamoto to Welcome the New World” (chainless.hk) quoted Maxdeath of China’s VeChain as saying about Satoshi Nakamoto and Vitalik: “He (note: referring to Satoshi Nakamoto) has a humble personality and can accept other people’s suggestions humbly. He is very Smart, but not as smart as many geniuses, such as Vitalik Buterin. He may have never been considered the best person in life, so he knows his shortcomings and even knows that he may make mistakes. Therefore, Bitcoin has sprouted from In the process of its birth; he has been absorbing other people’s suggestions and new knowledge without reservation. This is one of the important reasons why Bitcoin can appear and even succeed (https://www.zhihu.com/question/67192203 )”. According to Danny, “developers write the code and users run the software”…. It seems that people who can’t write code are garbage and are too superior to others. It is the gap between their team and Satoshi Nakamoto.
Criticize them to help them progress because they deserve help and are fighting for humanity’s future. Their problems stem from “knowledge barriers.” These problems are easy to solve for technical personnel who understand finance.
2. Self-limiting contradictions
In the previous article, “Why hasn’t Ethereum’s market value caught up with Bitcoin?” “(chainless.hk), we introduced the self-limiting contradiction: “The value of ETH comes from its ecology. The increase in ecological value will increase the price of ETH. The unchanged transaction fee standard and rising currency price will increase the Ethereum system’s cost, thus inhibiting ecological prosperity. In turn, suppresses the currency’s price and affects further price increases. This phenomenon is called self-limiting.”
Bitcoin can also be used for transactions, but for Bitcoin, its price is not self-limiting. Why? The Bitcoin system has only one currency. The rise and fall of Bitcoin and the proportion of handling fees do not change. Transactions occur between the same currency and do not require another ruler to measure, so there is no self-limitation. Our legal currency, the RMB, is the ruler for measuring the prices of all commodities in China’s ecosystem. Note that all goods are priced and circulated in RMB. When someone transfers RMB to me through a bank in China, the bank charges the handling fee in RMB and gives me RMB; the situation with Bitcoin is the same. However, if you want to convert to US dollars, the situation is different because the exchange rate difference has to be considered, so there is a self-limiting problem.
There is an exchange rate difference in the Ethereum ecosystem. There are N types of currencies in the ecosystem. Various currencies use Ethereum as a ruler. When Ethereum rises, it means that the scale of the ruler changes. Other coins may not necessarily be able to grow at the same time as Ethereum. It is just like the exchange rate differences between various international currencies. If ETH rises, if you don’t, the handling fees will be high. Therefore, if Ethereum is used to collect ecosystem handling fees, when the ecosystem is prosperous, the price of ETH will be increased, and its handling fees will be high, inhibiting its ecology. The fact that Vitalik believes that Bitcoin also has an ecosystem shows that he did not intentionally design Ethereum this way, and He does not understand.
It is common sense in finance that fees must be fixed. At this time, the stablecoin must be used as a yardstick, and the user’s Ethereum will be charged based on the proportion of the stablecoin. That is, no matter how high the price of ETH is, the charges will be the same in US dollars. It is easy to implement in the program. Not understanding such a simple truth shows that the Ethereum friends didn’t use their brains when copying homework. In other words, Ethereum, like Bitcoin, cannot serve as a benchmark unless Bitcoin and Ethereum are as stable as stablecoins.
Since fiat currency is the ruler, the inflation of fiat currency must be suppressed to less than 2%. It is so that people cannot feel the changes in the currency scale. The volatility of ETH is too high, and if it is used as a yardstick, it is beyond the range that people can tolerate.
3. Solve the problem of two coins with the same name
The author wrote in the previous article, “Why doesn’t Ethereum’s market value catch up with Bitcoin?” (chainless.hk), that the production methods and costs of Ethereum produced by POW differ from those produced by POS. But even though both production methods and costs differ, they share the same name. It is both an asset currency and a credit currency. The burning is mainly in asset coins; the new issues are in credit coins. If it enters the deflationary, there will be no currency Increase. So Ethereum is a currency: an asset currency generated through POW. From a legal point of view, the coins obtained from Ethereum ecological transactions must be distributed in sequential order, ensuring that old coins are received first, and then coins are issued. In this way, no coins will be issued if there is no revenue. Ensuring the system does not mint coins on new mechanics is important.
It is a legal issue. Because the coins issued by credit method have no cost, they are “fake and shoddy” products and have defects of being passed off as inferior. It is a legal issue, big or small. When someone raises this issue, and the Vitalik team fails to correct it, it becomes subjective and intentional and constitutes a criminal issue. It could at least give rise to a class action lawsuit. I don’t know if they consulted an experienced attorney beforehand. The biggest advantage of Ethereum is that it has actual controllers, which is also its most significant disadvantage. When a lawyer’s letter brings this issue to the foundation, the foundation must respond. However, there is no similar foundation you want to find for Bitcoin.
If the Ethereum system no longer issues new coins. From the perspective of currency issuance progress, Ethereum surpasses Bitcoin. The Bitcoin system has not issued all Bitcoins, while the Ethereum system has issued all Ethereum through POW.
None of the above is a technical problem and exposes the weaknesses of the tech-dominated team.
2024.04.11 23:40 na_ro_jo What is the original source of the claim that fiber optic tech was reversed engineered from a retrieved craft?
Taking a break from the depths of woo to revisit some curiosities I have about the nuts and bolts. Recently, I had thought about this claim about fiber tech's origins in relation to UFOs.
Current state of fiber optic allows for data transmission more than 62 miles, so it's allowing more data transfer & connectivity. People often only think of fiber for it's higher bandwidth compared to ethernet, but it has multiple advantages over its predecessor technology, such as being unaffected by electromagnetic interference.
Fiber also had its first use case in the medical field, in endoscopy... the manufacture of these flexible optical probes allowed for medical advancement in diagnostic and surgical procedures.
Particularly noteworthy, it's been used in military aviation - these developments started as fly-by-wire, but crafts like Digitac's A-7D explored fly-by-light or fly-by-optic use cases and specs. The F-22 and F-35 have an optical data bus, and the F-35 has more capabilities and EMI shielding. And that's ultimately what sparks my curiosity about all this - I recall NORAD sending F-22s and F-35s after a UAP, and while some of the pilots experienced jamming and interference, others did not. And a F-22 was able to shoot it down regardless. One must presume, if these are our capabilities with fiber, whatever the UAPS are doing with fiber (presuming they have that) is far more advanced than us, and probably not just a data bus.
So with that, where does this tale even originate? Anyone ever revisit this claim? I wondered what else I might not know about fiber that might be relevant to UAPS, and I had also wondered what other technology is claimed to have come from UAPs, too, as an aside - not a main point of discussion, please.
edit: I made some changes for clarity...
2024.04.09 11:39 alyflex I can ping my remote server, but not anything on its subnet.
I have my local computer, which is connected to my remote server using tailscale. The remote server allows subnet connections, and is hosting a VM.
I can ping the remote server over tailscale and get a reply, but if I try to ping the VM (which is connected to the remote server with a network bridge), then my local computer never receives a reply.
Here is what it looks like when I monitor the ICMP traffic on my network bridge on the remote server:
admin@truenas[~]$ sudo tcpdump -i br0 ip proto \\icmp -n tcpdump: verbose output suppressed, use -v[v]... for full protocol decode listening on br0, link-type EN10MB (Ethernet), snapshot length 262144 bytes 10:47:06.453731 IP 100.68.97.36 > 192.168.0.5: ICMP echo request, id 29, seq 1, length 64 10:47:06.453999 IP 192.168.0.5 > 100.68.97.36: ICMP echo reply, id 29, seq 1, length 64 10:47:07.461795 IP 100.68.97.36 > 192.168.0.5: ICMP echo request, id 29, seq 2, length 64 10:47:07.461999 IP 192.168.0.5 > 100.68.97.36: ICMP echo reply, id 29, seq 2, length 64 10:47:08.481364 IP 100.68.97.36 > 192.168.0.5: ICMP echo request, id 29, seq 3, length 64 10:47:08.481593 IP 192.168.0.5 > 100.68.97.36: ICMP echo reply, id 29, seq 3, length 64 10:47:09.505723 IP 100.68.97.36 > 192.168.0.5: ICMP echo request, id 29, seq 4, length 64 10:47:09.505888 IP 192.168.0.5 > 100.68.97.36: ICMP echo reply, id 29, seq 4, length 64 10:47:10.529920 IP 100.68.97.36 > 192.168.0.5: ICMP echo request, id 29, seq 5, length 64 10:47:10.530040 IP 192.168.0.5 > 100.68.97.36: ICMP echo reply, id 29, seq 5, length 64
100.68.97.36 = my local computer
192.168.0.5 = VM
192.168.0.4 = remote server
So I can see that my ping request reaches the remote server, which passes it on to the VM, which sends a reply towards my local machine, which never arrives to my local machine.
My network knowledge is rather basic so I don't know how to track this any further. I guess I need to ensure that the packages that the remote server receives from the VM actually gets passed back through the tunnel towards my local machine, but I don't know how to check that
EDIT: I tried some additional things, and realized that tailscale ping 192.168.0.5 works. So I guess the reason why ping isn't working must be due to an issue with my local machine somehow blocking it. I have disabled the ufw firewall, but that didn't change anything. I
2024.04.01 17:33 Living_Fox6602 The Kitsune Codex
This is a version of the Demon Slayer universe, where there are humans, demons, and kitsune. Kitsune are fox spirits known for their shape-shifting abilities and cunning nature, often serving as tricksters or protectors in Japanese folklore. In this world, they are half human and half kitsune, and they live in secret from humans, and humans are just myths and legends to them. In this universe, they have existed long before Muzan ever existed and before the demon corpse was ever made. They were slaves to humans before they rebelled and formed their own society.
Human kitsune are individuals believed to possess the extraordinary ability to transform into foxes, adorned with the characteristic ears and tails of the mythical kitsune. These remarkable beings can be categorized into two groups: elemental and normal kitsune. Elemental kitsune are those gifted with the power to manipulate various elements such as fire, water, or wind, while normal kitsune lack such elemental abilities. Normal human kitsune form a unified clan, while elemental human kitsune are organized into distinct clans based on their elemental affinities. Despite this division, all human kitsune share a common belief in the power of transformation and their deep connection to foxes.
The elements that the elemental human kitsune can control and manipulate include:
These powers are often bestowed upon individuals by the kitsune gods ruling over their respective elements, or they may be attained through the discovery of ancient scrolls associated with specific elements.
Each elemental kitsune clan is led by a venerable elder who possesses mastery over their corresponding element, guiding younger kitsune in honing their abilities. These clans frequently engage in friendly competitions to showcase their skills and foster community bonds.
To conceal their true nature and integrate seamlessly into human society, both normal and elemental kitsune wear enchanted accessories such as necklaces, rings, or bracelets. These magical items not only disguise their appearance but also help suppress their elemental powers, preventing inadvertent displays of abilities in public.
Certain elemental kitsune, particularly those with powers over fire and shadow, are prone to losing control, necessitating the constant wearing of these accessories except under specific circumstances, such as combat against demons or hostile humans.
The guardianship of ancient scrolls, repositories of invaluable knowledge and secrets, falls upon designated kitsune known as scroll holders. Often descendants of powerful clan elders or individuals deemed worthy, these guardians play a crucial role in preserving their clan's heritage.
Elemental kitsune demonstrate reverence and devotion to their respective elemental gods through rituals conducted in designated temples. These rituals include strict protocols such as maintaining silence and stillness as a sign of respect, purification rites before entering the temple, and adherence to modest attire for women.
Festivals and holidays hold significant importance in the kitsune community, serving as occasions for religious observance, communal celebration, and honoring of ancestors. These events foster camaraderie between normal and elemental kitsune, who actively support each other in times of need, though challenges such as discrimination and socioeconomic disparities persist.
The Red Fox Village
The Red Fox Village, known in the native tongue as Kitsune no Akai Mura, stands as the vibrant epicenter of Kitsune culture and community. Nestled within lush landscapes, this bustling town teems with life and tradition, serving as a haven for kitsunes from far and wide.
At the heart of the village stands a formidable sentinel—the Giant Red Gate—a towering monument that embodies the unity and fortitude of the kitsune community. Symbolizing their resilience in the face of adversity, this gate not only guards the village but also acts as a beacon of hope, instilling a sense of security in its inhabitants.
Legend has it that should an unwelcome intruder breach the gate, they are met with an illusion of desolation—an empty town devoid of life. Yet, upon their departure, the village springs to life with bustling activity and vibrant energy, a testament to the protective magic woven into its very fabric.
Divided into three distinct realms, the village offers a tapestry of experiences for its denizens and visitors alike. The Town Square, adorned with a magnificent statue of a fox cascading water from its mouth, serves as the bustling heart of community gatherings. Surrounding the square, stalls brim with delectable treats and artisanal crafts, enticing passersby with their wares. Venturing further, one discovers the Residential Area—a tranquil retreat adorned with charming dwellings and lush gardens. Here, the streets are lined with verdant trees, offering respite from the bustle of the square and fostering a sense of peace and serenity. Finally, the Market District beckons with its lively ambiance and eclectic offerings. Amidst towering buildings and bustling streets, vendors peddle their wares—each stall a treasure trove of handcrafted goods, fresh produce, and tantalizing street food. The air is alive with the scent of spices and the sound of animated conversation, drawing visitors into its vibrant embrace. Together, these facets of the Red Fox Village weave a rich tapestry of culture and community, inviting all who enter to partake in its boundless charm and hospitality.
Scattered in a harmonious ring around the revered Red Fox Village lies a collection of ten temples, each a bastion of elemental power and divine guidance. Led by esteemed high priests and priestesses akin to the venerable Hana, these sacred sanctuaries stand as beacons of reverence and protection for the kitsune community.
Each temple is dedicated to a specific element and the deity who presides over it, guiding and safeguarding their devout followers
The sanctum of the Chiyu Jinsei temple, overseen by the esteemed Earth Scroll Holder, Hana, stands as a bastion of power and protection within the kitsune realm. Within this sacred space, Hana harnesses not only the ancient earth powers bestowed upon her but also commands an extradimensional fortress of unparalleled scale and complexity.
As the custodian of this fortress, Hana wields absolute dominion over its ever-shifting architecture, capable of manipulating and altering its structure at will. Countless chambers, each with its unique purpose and design, populate the sprawling expanse of her domain, offering sanctuary and solace to those in need.
At the heart of the Chiyu Jinsei temple, Hana presides over her realm, her presence distorting the very fabric of space around her. With a mere thought, she can mold the fortress into towering pillars, obliterating foes with crushing force, or create portals in the form of tatami sliding doors, facilitating swift transportation within or beyond her stronghold. In addition to her formidable abilities, Hana serves as the revered high priestess of the earth's temples, guiding her fellow kitsune with wisdom and compassion. The temple itself serves as a sanctuary for the wounded, sick, and weary, offering healing and solace to demon slayer kitsune and soldiers alike.
Moreover, it serves as a repository for the sacred scrolls, housing the collective wisdom and heritage of the kitsune community. Here, amidst the hallowed halls, the High Council and scroll holders convene to discuss matters of utmost importance, ensuring the safety and well-being of their brethren throughout the realm.
Shadow District
there's a societal norm among the kitsune community where individuals are expected to adhere to a principle of moral conduct: "Do no evil." Kitsune who uphold this principle are deemed worthy of living among their fellow kitsune in the village. However, those who deviate from this standard and engage in acts considered malevolent or harmful are cast out from the main community.
These outcasts are relegated to a separate area within the village, often referred to as the "Shadow District" or "Outcast Quarter." This part of the village carries a somber atmosphere, akin to Gotham City, where those who have strayed from the path of righteousness reside. The environment is characterized by dilapidated buildings, dimly lit streets, and an air of desolation.
the Shadow District becomes a haven for criminal activities and other undesirable behavior within the kitsune community. With its isolated and neglected environment, it becomes a breeding ground for illicit activities and individuals looking to evade the laws and norms of mainstream society.
In the dimly lit alleyways and crumbling structures of the Shadow District, various forms of wrongdoing flourish. This includes petty theft, vandalism, illegal gambling dens, and underground markets for contraband goods. Those who have been cast out often form gangs or criminal organizations, preying on both their fellow outcasts and the vulnerable members of the main community.
Legal System and Justice
The kitsune community maintains a structured legal system overseen by a council of elders known as the Council of Wisdom. Comprised of esteemed members from various clans, the council convenes to resolve disputes, interpret laws, and mete out justice in accordance with ancient traditions and cultural norms.
When conflicts arise, individuals involved present their cases before the council, who carefully weigh evidence and testimonies before reaching a verdict. Punishments for transgressions vary depending on the severity of the offense, ranging from fines and community service to exile for particularly egregious crimes.
In addition to the Council of Wisdom, each clan may have its own judicial body responsible for handling internal disputes and maintaining order within its ranks. These clan courts operate under the guidance of experienced elders and are tasked with upholding clan laws and customs.
Harmony Kitsune
Children born to parents of conflicting elemental kitsune types often face discrimination and bullying within their communities. This prejudice stems from the inherent tension between their parents' elemental affiliations, which are traditionally seen as opposing forces. For example:
This bullying can have detrimental effects on the children's self-esteem and mental well-being, as they grapple with identity issues and a sense of isolation. It's crucial for communities to foster understanding and acceptance of these unique individuals, emphasizing the value of diversity and the strength that comes from embracing differences. Through education and empathy, societies can create an inclusive environment where all kitsune, regardless of their elemental heritage, are respected and valued members.
{The Kitsune Codex}
This is a version of the Demon Slayer universe, where there are humans, demons, and kitsune. Kitsune are fox spirits known for their shape-shifting abilities and cunning nature, often serving as tricksters or protectors in Japanese folklore. In this world, they are half human and half kitsune, and they live in secret from humans, and humans are just myths and legends to them. In this universe, they have existed long before Muzan ever existed and before the demon corpse was ever made. They were slaves to humans before they rebelled and formed their own society.
Human kitsune are individuals believed to possess the extraordinary ability to transform into foxes, adorned with the characteristic ears and tails of the mythical kitsune. These remarkable beings can be categorized into two groups: elemental and normal kitsune. Elemental kitsune are those gifted with the power to manipulate various elements such as fire, water, or wind, while normal kitsune lack such elemental abilities. Normal human kitsune form a unified clan, while elemental human kitsune are organized into distinct clans based on their elemental affinities. Despite this division, all human kitsune share a common belief in the power of transformation and their deep connection to foxes.
The elements that the elemental human kitsune can control and manipulate include:
These powers are often bestowed upon individuals by the kitsune gods ruling over their respective elements, or they may be attained through the discovery of ancient scrolls associated with specific elements.
Each elemental kitsune clan is led by a venerable elder who possesses mastery over their corresponding element, guiding younger kitsune in honing their abilities. These clans frequently engage in friendly competitions to showcase their skills and foster community bonds.
To conceal their true nature and integrate seamlessly into human society, both normal and elemental kitsune wear enchanted accessories such as necklaces, rings, or bracelets. These magical items not only disguise their appearance but also help suppress their elemental powers, preventing inadvertent displays of abilities in public.
Certain elemental kitsune, particularly those with powers over fire and shadow, are prone to losing control, necessitating the constant wearing of these accessories except under specific circumstances, such as combat against demons or hostile humans.
The guardianship of ancient scrolls, repositories of invaluable knowledge and secrets, falls upon designated kitsune known as scroll holders. Often descendants of powerful clan elders or individuals deemed worthy, these guardians play a crucial role in preserving their clan's heritage.
Elemental kitsune demonstrate reverence and devotion to their respective elemental gods through rituals conducted in designated temples. These rituals include strict protocols such as maintaining silence and stillness as a sign of respect, purification rites before entering the temple, and adherence to modest attire for women.
Festivals and holidays hold significant importance in the kitsune community, serving as occasions for religious observance, communal celebration, and honoring of ancestors. These events foster camaraderie between normal and elemental kitsune, who actively support each other in times of need, though challenges such as discrimination and socioeconomic disparities persist.
The Red Fox Village
The Red Fox Village, known in the native tongue as Kitsune no Akai Mura, stands as the vibrant epicenter of Kitsune culture and community. Nestled within lush landscapes, this bustling town teems with life and tradition, serving as a haven for kitsunes from far and wide.
At the heart of the village stands a formidable sentinel—the Giant Red Gate—a towering monument that embodies the unity and fortitude of the kitsune community. Symbolizing their resilience in the face of adversity, this gate not only guards the village but also acts as a beacon of hope, instilling a sense of security in its inhabitants.
Legend has it that should an unwelcome intruder breach the gate, they are met with an illusion of desolation—an empty town devoid of life. Yet, upon their departure, the village springs to life with bustling activity and vibrant energy, a testament to the protective magic woven into its very fabric.
Divided into three distinct realms, the village offers a tapestry of experiences for its denizens and visitors alike. The Town Square, adorned with a magnificent statue of a fox cascading water from its mouth, serves as the bustling heart of community gatherings. Surrounding the square, stalls brim with delectable treats and artisanal crafts, enticing passersby with their wares. Venturing further, one discovers the Residential Area—a tranquil retreat adorned with charming dwellings and lush gardens. Here, the streets are lined with verdant trees, offering respite from the bustle of the square and fostering a sense of peace and serenity. Finally, the Market District beckons with its lively ambiance and eclectic offerings. Amidst towering buildings and bustling streets, vendors peddle their wares—each stall a treasure trove of handcrafted goods, fresh produce, and tantalizing street food. The air is alive with the scent of spices and the sound of animated conversation, drawing visitors into its vibrant embrace. Together, these facets of the Red Fox Village weave a rich tapestry of culture and community, inviting all who enter to partake in its boundless charm and hospitality.
Scattered in a harmonious ring around the revered Red Fox Village lies a collection of ten temples, each a bastion of elemental power and divine guidance. Led by esteemed high priests and priestesses akin to the venerable Hana, these sacred sanctuaries stand as beacons of reverence and protection for the kitsune community.
Each temple is dedicated to a specific element and the deity who presides over it, guiding and safeguarding their devout followers
The sanctum of the Chiyu Jinsei temple, overseen by the esteemed Earth Scroll Holder, Hana, stands as a bastion of power and protection within the kitsune realm. Within this sacred space, Hana harnesses not only the ancient earth powers bestowed upon her but also commands an extradimensional fortress of unparalleled scale and complexity.
As the custodian of this fortress, Hana wields absolute dominion over its ever-shifting architecture, capable of manipulating and altering its structure at will. Countless chambers, each with its unique purpose and design, populate the sprawling expanse of her domain, offering sanctuary and solace to those in need.
2024.03.30 23:48 HelpfulReputation693 My life sad story
Hi everyone this is Narration of my sad life story. I was among the brightest students of my primary and secondary school;specially in maths and science .used to be topper in maths including all Olympiads.Even got into State level NSEJS and also an NTSE scholar (cleared two rounds) and cleared KVPY both rounds.
Senior secondary I enrolled in coaching cum schooling tie up program in bhubaneswar. Everything went good until second half of class twelve when suddenly the HOD Maths cum largest shareholder of our coaching decided he would make drastic changes on his own.
He drag us(group of us toppers) to useless extra classes which waste our time and exhaust us ,we also couldn't attend the cbse classes assigned to us but nobody in management dared to tell him because he was nearly owner of the coaching classes company.
Time went by I started loosing my temper my health couldn't complete the syllabus I realized that no matter what we can't complete the JEE Syllabus.I was in depression.From then onwards I started wasting my time because I was hopeless of securing a good rank in JEE and I was unsure of getting v good marks in cbse board.
Got a rank of 5k in jee adv and mains both and this was my worst performance in any national level exams. I had got my hands onto a smartphone for first time during the last months and the loneliness caused me to be addicted to it.
Got into an Old iit with no so good branch .
During the first year I was very afraid to talk to anyone because I feared ragging and Idk why I feared the peer pressure of marks and branch among my friends. By this time I was totally glued onto fb I didn't participate in any co curricular activities .I wasn't aware of anything in my surroundings in college.
Got a cgpa of 5.5(of 10) I was devastated by now when I realised in which state I was . I was lonely, depressed always crying subconsciously afraid to talk to anyone . By now I had also become very aggressively defensive of my bad habits. I didn't used to bad mouth my father but now I did.
I used to cry thinking about my life now.Everybody used to think he is an IITian what else does he need but nobody realises the pain of high aspirations and high expectations.
By the time of second year slowly I started opening up and slowly started talking to very few people. I started going to AI club sometimes gym sometimes used to play . I asked one of my friends to put me into the annual cultural fest(it is very famous in the state/ region of my college ) In the cult fest marketing team I learned many new things I started talking to more and people was less afraid of seniors I used to talk yo local businesses and national brands I slowly started recovering from my fear and always anxious nature.
And then voila covid happened and I again ended up with my parents who are very very bitter .I somehow managed to ignore them in childhood but now I couldn't; I felt caged . Everyday there would be conflicts and quarrel specially with my mom.My mental state was in shambles.
At this time I was even more glued to mobile and the most unfortunate thing was I was in a very remote area where 4g wasn't present in my area I used to receive faint 4g signals and sometimes for days there would be no internet. Because I couldn't connect with anyone I was isolated lonely and depressed. Time went by 2 years no contact with anyone couldn't get any guidance as I was already anxious and covid + internet made it worse.
In third year i didn't give the internship placement program because I feared both my ability and internet might give results that I might not be able to bear mentally.
4th year my college finally opened midway and just as I came in companies started flooding as placement season had started I definitely had skills but I was totally unsure if it would be of any use and I was right my skills were almost useless.
Out of nowhere I started coding random dsa question in python hackerrank.My friends would sometimes see and used to wonder why he is doing something of zero use and some even told me suppressed voice(because I was not close to anyone people would not tell me on face) I also mentally rejected thier opinion feedback because I was anxious and thier suggestion to learn cpp learn algo seemed bit too harsh for me. I just thought I m out of thier league.
In placement season only very few bunch of students were talented enough to complete the coding questions in time all others were relying on help(ikik).
I didn't realise this earlier and I scored miserable marks in coding tests qualifying in almost none .The day arrived of interviews I had barely qualified for any companies(except one samsung idk how I managed to score their coding test) .
My CV was poor I had no contacts or POCs to help me get to interviews my friends who had much poor performance than me got more 10x the companies interviewed me.
After my first interview experience (samsung)I cried for days hiding my face as I couldn't answer two basic question because I was anxious and it suddenly striked me seconds after the interview.
I hadn't eaten properly for days .After that all I got only interviews based on open call for interview. I got rejected in all of them because I was anxious and my brain froze in interviews.
I hadn't spoken to parents and my brother birthday just went ;my mother had called my so many times that I picked up and told her that I couldn't eat properly (didn't tell her about the interviews) the second time I told her everything and cried .my mother consoled me but she wouldn't understand the gravity of my situation.
After two days finally capgemini arrived I managed to score good in their test because it was two very simple coding q(given two integer complete function to add them and take and input and print it)and all other q were games where respone time in milliseconds mattered so somehow I was good at that.
Capgemini didn't ask a single coding question they just asked "give your introduction" ,"describe you project" and "where do you see yourself in 5 years" I was bit sus about their interview process but I knew I was qualified.
The CTC they gave was 10 lpa(9.3 base)which was very substandard considering old IIT but I had to accept thier offer because I knew I couldn't Crack off campus.
My father advised me to study well and try off campus because he knew what state I was in. But I was fickle minded and was always anxious and low self esteem I couldn't plan study properly and at that time recession also came so I was afraid to apply to other companies I thought in anxiety that if I join a company other than service based campgemini I might get laid off so it is better I stay here.
8th semester was over August 2022 came in they announced they will start my employment process which scheduled to be in August 11 but somehow luck strikes in the hr who was responsible for initiating the process was ignorant as heck(my email ID changed to alumni domain and I had given my college mail ID for job Application) I called her many times to explain but she ignored (she even saw my profile on truecaller)I mailed her from alternate mail but in vain.
The August 11 batch got into PLSQL batch which is relatively easy and tutoring, we were from IIT given a experience reserved post in capgemini they were given this. After few days I met a severe accident because I was driving speed inexperienced and scooty skid. Bleeding me profusely. I was in bedrest for a month.
I received new appointment letter for 20 sep bit as luck I got into java backend + cloud containerization role which was crowded as heck very bad and unknowledgable tutors tightly packed schedule which would exhaust you.
Just few days into the classes I realised I might have something to this wierd pain in head. Realised I was suffering from migraine .very severe that would blind me for multiple hours.This added to bad tutors and no guidance I was lost .Somehow managed to pass the exam after I took medicine and recovered partially .
Came to Bengaluru after the work from home training period.Then I met worst managers I have ever seen.Felt like a torcher the tone they used to talk didn't understand iota of my role. tried to tell them I m clueless but in vain after my first interview I realised what I missed ;basically everything.
Talked to batchmates of Bengaluru java he suggested me udemy.The only thing that helped me.
Days went by other client interviews happened rejected because even tho I was knowledge they asked me such depth that only experienced one could answer. The last client was such an asshole she gave feedback that my interview was good but she didn't feel confidence😑.
I urged them(Manager) to put in me study plan they did but mid way they pulled me and in a cold voice warned my that pip will start from today. Pip ripped apart my remaining health I suffered severe migraines and I even was forgetting things I had checkup and I learned I has vit b12 deficient .
The course plan was such that even sitting 11 hours a day(inc weekends) I wouldn't be able to complete just the videos and above that homework and quizzes.
I urged them many times to reconsider the syllabus and time frame ;they told all others were given same plan.(most then either resigned or they kept them by extending time and torchering them).
By second week I realised no way this syllabus can be completed so I just bunked.
One of my friend cum batchmate was also in pip and he resigned as he had a plan to do masters in civil engineering, in the heat of the moment I also resigned not realising my biggest blunder in my life. I bunked the meetings and finally they threatened me with disciplinary action and gave me two options : continue pip or leave now. I stammered in anxiety and fear I told okay continue and idk out of fikle minded after few minutes I told them okay I m leaving -> even bigger blunder. I cried like I have lost my life that day.
After few days I packed everything and left for home.
At home I was stuck overthinking which career path to choose first I choose masters in maths then flipped to chemistry then to mba some suggested ias .
Finally after a month I decided coding is the best way because Idk I might be stuck for years here. I was solving dsa day and night and applying aggressively everywhere including finance broker roles etc.
Then in Nov my education loan was opened for emi and I received sms I was frozen . How would I pay this when I don't have income. I told my father and he was calm .I was shaking inside first installment was 5k paid by me Second installment 14k papa paid somehow. I was anxious depressed and overthinking .
Over few months my cibil is destroyed ,I m sure I won't get any loans further ;it is almost becoming NPA.
Throughout the 7 months idk why I m so afraid to talk to people from my collage and ask for referral sometimes I get courage sometimes my mind just procrastinates over it because of anxiety and overthinking.
My introvert nature and social anxiety and procrastination anxiety (peer pressure ) has ruined so many things that I even can't imagine. If anybody has any advice suggestions or help for me please reach me out in comments/dms.
