2024.05.22 02:49 Fun_Wealth_668 REUNIONS GLITCH kellogg won’t speak to me to open the maglock door
so i’ve avoided a lot of the main quest line a lot up until about 11hrs in. i have all DLCS, and multiple mods.
i finally got on to doing the main quest line, and started everything. i got all the way up to the last bit of reunions with no glitches. The part my character is stuck at currently is when kellogg says he doesn’t want a roommate, and i walked through the door, and then when i get to the mag lock door, he is apparently supposed to talk to the sole survivor and realize he isn’t leaving, and opens the door for confrontation.
however that’s where my problem has occurred. He doesn’t start speaking to me and leading to him opening the door.
the ONLY things i can think of that might affect this is one, the fact i have an alternative start mod, with an expansion that takes the sole survivor dialogue away, and replaces it with options that portray your character to not be a frantic mother or father looking for their child, and just someone reporting the kidnapping. i haven’t had an issue with it up to this point.
or two, the fact i haven’t completed any of the brotherhood of steel campaign yet, i haven’t even started fire support yet.
I would love to hear any suggestions of things that could fix it. Sadly i will note I am playing on survival and have no saves before that that i’ll go back on. the last save i have is 5hrs of gameplay, and im currently at 11hrs. Loading that save and continuing is the LAST THING i want to do. PLEASE HELP!

Generally speaking, our format of play will involved downtime at the Guildhall with our characters unwinding from the last expedition and preparing for the next. From there, exploration will ensue with brief but enriching and immersing random encounters until a plot encounter is discovered. Following its resolution our heroes will return to base and so the cycle repeats, with some glaring exceptions when player decision calls for it.
I have a handful of ideas for an overarching narrative, but our final choice will be made collaboratively and in accordance with player interest and backstory considerations.
I accept any and all classes from officially published material, though your selection of lineage/race will be more limited to fit the lore of the setting. Your options will include:
Roll20 will be used for the purposes of tactical combat encounter maps, dice rolling, and character sheet management. Discord will be used for voice and video communications. I will be using my camera for our sessions so I can talk with my hands and face alongside my voice, and I would encourage you to do the same! I have a server made and prepared for this game.
My timezone is CST, and I'm entirely available on Saturday to make a session time work around whatever our schedules allow for. I'm partial to evening start times myself. I'm hoping our (free) session zero can happen on the 25th and we can begin play properly on the 1st of June.
If you're paying for sessions of DnD it's a fair assumption you're over the age of 18, and I would prefer you're at least that old. Exceptions can be made, but my games tend to be adult and include elements of occasionally disturbing horror.
I expect y'all to have fun, and if that involves drug or alcohol use for you I'd ask the dial to be set to somewhere around 3 out of 10. I've been known to have a glass of wine during sessions but never anything more.

I'm here for a week. He seemed sweet enough at the M&G. He's in his twilight years, wears diapers and has puppy pads, but I've managed this before. Owners said he has some separation anxiety when they leave but overall is pretty chill. I was not given any warnings about his behavior.
It's been four days and GOD I am just about ready to jump out the window of the 24th floor where I'm staying.
The first part of my rant is not really his fault. He is constantly barking at the door to go out. I was told they take him out 3-5x a day, he needs to go out more often now which they can't do so they're training him to use puppy pads/diapers. I take him about 5-7x a day but I can't/won't do more. He's always finding ways to pull his diapers off and while he understands where the puppy pads are and is good about going to that area, he always scratches them out of the way to pee on the floor so this doesn't really help the cleanup.
I'll give him a bit of a pass for the peeing issue, but on top of that he's just so badly trained. I cannot go into the kitchen without him following and jumping up and barking and whining for entire minutes until after I've left the room. Clearly he's learned to expect something every time someone opens fridge. I also can't eat my meal in peace without him jumping up and trying to sniff my food and more of the NONSTOP FUCKING WHINING.
At night he just paces around and whines and whine and whines. He's obviously looking for his owners,I get it and I've dealt with other dogs with separation anxiety, but this is one the worst case I've seen and there's been no improvement in four days. I try to play and distract him and that works but I'm not going to spend hours every single night distracting him with games. This is not a constant care situation. Thank God he's actually pretty good being left alone because at this point I'm finding excuses to leave the apartment to avoid the whining (but ofc I'm still spending the majority of my time there).
I've asked the owners about this behavior and how long he usually takes to settle down once they leave. They say he's actually always like this, and if even one of them has left while the other is home, he acts exactly like I've described. Often even when they're both home. "He's just a big whiny baby 😂" they say like it's cute.
How the fuck have these people lived with this for FOURTEEN years???? I couldn't. It's unbearable.
They have two cats I'm taking care of as well, the cats are chill and lovely and making me reconsider my strong preference for dogs over cats lol. The situation has also given me a renewed appreciation for people who make the effort to train their damn dog.
Anyway just needed to vent, and would also appreciate any tips or advice for dealing with this dog. I've got five days to go and have found this sub very helpful for learning how to manage difficult pups. Thank you for reading!

I have tried all means to contact Unionbank on how I can unblock my card and it has been so frustrating. Already tried the ff channels:

Generally speaking, our format of play will involved downtime at the Guildhall with our characters unwinding from the last expedition and preparing for the next. From there, exploration will ensue with brief but enriching and immersing random encounters until a plot encounter is discovered. Following its resolution our heroes will return to base and so the cycle repeats, with some glaring exceptions when player decision calls for it.
I have a handful of ideas for an overarching narrative, but our final choice will be made collaboratively and in accordance with player interest and backstory considerations.
I accept any and all classes from officially published material, though your selection of lineage/race will be more limited to fit the lore of the setting. Your options will include:

This game will require payment to the Game Master at a rate of $20 per session excepting absences and session zero delivered through Venmo, Cash App, or Zelle.Roll20 will be used for the purposes of tactical combat encounter maps, dice rolling, and character sheet management. Discord will be used for voice and video communications. I will be using my camera for our sessions so I can talk with my hands and face alongside my voice, and I would encourage you to do the same! I have a server made and prepared for this game.
My timezone is CST, and I'm entirely available on Saturday to make a session time work around whatever our schedules allow for. I'm partial to evening start times myself. I'm hoping our (free) session zero can happen on the 25th and we can begin play properly on the 1st of June.
If you're paying for sessions of DnD it's a fair assumption you're over the age of 18, and I would prefer you're at least that old. Exceptions can be made, but my games tend to be adult and include elements of occasionally disturbing horror.
I expect y'all to have fun, and if that involves drug or alcohol use for you I'd ask the dial to be set to somewhere around 3 out of 10. I've been known to have a glass of wine during sessions but never anything more.
Safety tools will be utilized to maintain a safe environment where everyone is having comfortable fun. Lines and veils will be established, and mine is an open table. If you knowingly violate a line it is grounds for ejection without refund. There is a certain amount of emotional trust we give our players and our DMs when we play this game, and it will not be betrayed.
Furthermore, this is an explicitly LGBT friendly space. I'm queer in multiple ways and queer identities will be portrayed in the NPCs of the world. If either of those things are deal breakers for you, please look elsewhere for a game.

- Just use a ruler + pencil to find center
- Measure diagonally and across
- Add a tactile dot with super glue + toothpick
- Have paper towel on hand to correct mistakes
- Doesn't seem to affect touchpad tracking
- I've scrapped the super glue off before so you can adjust if you make a mistake
- In software set center tactile dot (nipple) to deadzone
- IMPORTANT: Set touchpad to move/turn ON TOUCH (not press down)
- Maybe even set small vibration when touching outside of deadzone
- Set the click down action to some other action like sprint, walk, duck, flashlight...

Up until now, I have been single and without a mortgage. This year, I may be getting married and I purchased property with a mortgage. However, my fiancee has income-based repayment student loans, and we want to avoid filing as married filed jointly if possible. Furthermore, we live in a community property state with high state income taxes, so our incomes are our total incomes divided by two. Whenever I read online or even asked my accountant about how to maximize my tax refund, I always hear “married filed separately is never worth it” and “itemizing deductions isn’t work it anymore either because of the higher standard deduction.” We do not have children. We will be doing backdoor Roth IRAs that will be unaffected by filing status. I don't see any other tax breaks for married filed jointly that apply to us. For the sake of simplicity, I omitted our 401k contributions. With all of these caveats, I’ve read the tax code and came up with my own calculations. It seems I stand to save four to five digits in taxes if I understand the tax code correctly.
For starters, if I were filing as single and with standard deductions: in 2024, I will make $350k. Standard deduction is $14,600. Taxable income is $335,400. The marginal tax rate is 35%. The lower bound of the 35% tax bracket is $243,726. The marginal tax is $32,086. The calculation here is 350000-14600 = 335400, then (335400-243726+1) *0.35 = 32086.
If I have a mortgage where I paid $60k in interest and the principal remaining is $1.5M, then under the federal cap on interest paid on mortgage debt up to $750k, I can deduct $30k from my taxable income. I will have state taxes greater than $10k, so I will max out the SALT deduction. If I were to itemize my deductions, it would be at least $40k deducted from my taxable income. This would bring my taxable income from $350k to $310k. Same marginal tax rate, same lower bound of 35% tax bracket, and marginal tax would be $27,870. This represent a savings of $8,890. The calculation here is 350000-60000 = 310000, then (310000-243726+1)*0.35 = 8890.
Am I missing something? Why is my accountant and the Internet saying itemizing deductions aren’t worth it anymore if I stand to save nearly $8k in taxes just by itemizing deductions as a single filer?

The calculation is 240000-20000 = 220000, then (220000-191951+1)*0.32 = 8976. Being a community property state where income and deductions are split in half by default, my fiancee will have the same marginal tax. $8976 * 2 = $17952 marginal tax due for both of us combined.
Lastly, the MFJ situation everyone claims is the best. Again, skipping the standard deduction, our combined incomes $480k. SALT deduction limit is $10k. Mortgage interest deduction is once again $30k. Taxable income is $440k. Marginal tax rate Is 32%. Lower bound of tax bracket is $383,901. Marginal tax is $17,952. I'm an abuser. I broke her.
I met my friend in August of 2022. We met over a fandom for a YouTuber we both liked, we'd talk, shade headcanons, write, and the like. She was wonderful. She was perfect, so sweet and kind, loving, caring, passionate.
In February of that same year I got on BC pills and it ruined me mentally. Threw me into the worst depression I've ever felt. I've never really gotten along with my peers, my parents told me I'd feel better when I'm in college and I just need to find a purpose, my doctor just threw more pills that didn't even work at me. Only she could save me. I told her everything. Piling up thought after thought onto her, using her like a therapist. Everything felt better when I had her attention and validation, when I was with her, I felt so seen and heard and loved. Basically, I used her for attention and validation. Over. And over. And over. For months. I refused to seek therapy because I was scared a therapist would say nothing is wrong, I'm just too sensitive, or I'm making it up. I was terrified that I'd have official, professional confirmation that I'm just a bad person, a drama queen, and I'm an attention seeker. (And that's exactly what ended up happening around a year later, a therapist told me I'm normal, so I have no mental issues at play that could've caused any of this.)
Around that time I started cutting and I'd always tell her about it, always wanting her sympathy, her pity. She said she didn't want to hear about it, but I pressed forward anyways. She said she didn't want to be a therapist, but I continued on. I never knew until later that she struggled with the same things and my actions made her relapse. I could have killed her with my actions. She could have gone too deep or starved too much, I could have killed her. I'm lucky she's even still alive. She was strong enough to never tell me any of this until nearly a year later meanwhile I told her about every tiny thing that happened to me.
I'm not good at controlling my emotions. Every little thing feels like the end of the world to me. Hell, today I cried and was shaking too much to do anything because I mixed up some chemicals and grabbed the wrong concentration and messed up a titration in chem and my lab partner was understandably upset at me. I cried to my friend over my Keurig breaking, over taco bell fucking up my order, cut myself over not knowing how to do math homework, that's the level of dramatic and fragile I am. And she, so patiently and lovingly, put up with all this shit. She was the only one who would. She felt like a perfect angel.
Of course I fell in love with her.
Something in my mind at some point, I don't know where, just seemed to break. I saw her as this absolutely perfect, flawless angel. Someone above me, someone above feeling the ways I do, someone so perfect she couldn't possibly be upset by me. So I put more and more on my angel. She can't feel bad, she's perfect. It's wrong, but that's how my mind was working. I still see her as someone so beautiful and amazing.
I professed my love to her. She didn't want it. But I pushed her on, continually telling her I loved her, over and over again professing my feelings and pretty much BEGGING for her to love me back. She didn't want it yet I pressed on, spamming her with love declarations at LEAST weekly, hoping that maybe someday she'd change her mind.
This went on for months. I wanted her to take care of me. I didn't want to get better because I liked things the way they were. The hurt, sad girl who everyone gives attention to became all I am and all I know about myself. She was my giver, my provider, all I needed in the world. I obsessed over her. I begged her to come let me live with her because I wanted her (I've never met her in real life, we only know each other online. I didn't even know what she looks like.) And I begged for her to come to me, I even looked at Amtrak between our cities so I could get to her. She didn't want me. I wanted her. I was addicted to her attention and her pity and would do ANYTHING to get a hit. I continued to tell her every little thing I felt, every little thing I did. I needed her attention and validation to feel whole.
But that's not even the end of it. No, she was either perfect or evil to me. And whatever set me to treating her like my perfect savior angel, it all came crashing back down in reverse. All over YouTube drama. The moment she did something I didn't perceive as perfect, I snapped. That YouTube channel we both like had been called out for abuse of people behind the scenes and I said it was unacceptable to keep watching and giving exposure to them, she said I should just let people enjoy things. I made an angry post about how everyone who liked that channel was enabling the abuse, got banned from the community, and I was desperate to come back. They were my only friends.
I made an alt account to pretty much stalk my angel, I was jealous and controlling and paranoid over her finding someone better than me and leaving me now that she was upset at me. I joined back in the servers I wasn't allowed in. I listened in to a call she was in. At the same time, I was messaging her on my main account, pretty much yelling at her about how she's funding and platforming an abuser. On my alt, I would act all sweet, I knew my relationship with her was already ruined so I thought if I became someone else, someone better, someone ideal, she'd love me.
This was the end for us. She found me out and completely cut me off, then later I was sent a document detailing everything I've done and that I abused her, broke her mentally, and made it so she can't trust anyone anymore. That I relapsed her back into her old ways, that I gave her trauma and abused her kindness.
I don't know if I can ever be redeemed. Abusers are the lowest of scum, after all. I don't know if I should continue living or if I should just end it so nobody can ever be hurt by me again. I feel I deserve to suffer and to rot, that I'm not worth the dirt I step on. I hope that she can be happy again someday. I hope that I'm never happy again. Maybe that way, more happiness will be left in the world for her.

My corgi has always been “a lot.” Barking, jumping, typical corgi things (although I personally believe my girl (3 year old F) probably has more stamina than most).
But then there was the unusual. Barking at familiar objects that were suddenly out of place (a coat, a box of diet coke, a purse, etc.). Barking at the shower any time it turned on. Jumping and snapping at my clothes if I danced or did a jerky unexpected move or yelped at a spider (very specific, I know). Barking when I seperated myself from her, especially if there was someone else in the house (putting her to bed at night [around 9-10pm] so my partner and I could watch a little TV undisturbed). All of these things were frustrating, sure, but manageable.
Last September (09/23), my partner moved in with me officially. He and my dog spent loads of time together, often cuddling in bed or on the couch. Their relationship seemed so strong that it got to the point of us joking that my dog preferred him to me.
Prior to him moving in we had been working with a trainer to figure out how my dog ticks, and how we might get her to bark at us a little less. The training, in all honesty, seemed very basic despite it being a lengthy and expensive program. Commands my dog already knew, games for mental stimulation that we were already playing, etc. One of the issues we had been facing was putting her to bed at night when she didn’t want to go. At times, it could be a whole production filled with coaxing and bribing to get her into her crate. We tried different treats, different beds, but for the most part she really seemed to pick and choose when she wanted to go in and when she wanted to rebel. Eventually, the trainer suggested we stop crating her. If she really didn’t want to go into the crate, why were we forcing her? When the trainer posed that question, the best I could answer was that in my personal research, it was important for dogs to be crate trained so they could self-soothe. The trainer said if the dog didn’t want to go in, then it wasn’t soothing to her and could possibly be fueling her other behaviors.
We didn’t feel super comfortable at first and eventually the training sessions ended with our girl still not always wanting to go in. Eventually, we threw up our hands and said “let’s try it.”
For two weeks, we didn’t crate her at bedtime. Sometimes I’d hear her pacing at night, and in the mornings there would sometimes be an accident somewhere in the house (very unusual for my trained dog). We noticed she seemed a little… edgy? But not to the point where we really suspected anything could go wrong.
Until she attacked my partner in December (12/23). It took us both by surprise and my partner was terrified (he’s been attacked by a dog once previously and carries a lot of anxiety around it). The two of them were best buds, we couldn’t (and still can’t) wrap our heads around this change. The attacks consisted of our girl running full speed at my partner, jumping, growling, snarling, snapping at him.
When this happened, we immediately jumped into action. We started crating her at night again. We contacted her vet, she got a clean bill of health. We contacted a new trainer and got on their calendar. We contacted a veterinary behaviorist and began trials of new medications.
Unfortunately, the first attack was not the last one. They picked up in frequency to the point where my partner and my dog could not be in the same space together, or she would attack him. We baby gated the house to keep them seperate. I would sit on one half of the room with my dog (to keep her calm), and he would sit on the other. We were miserable.
During this time we tried multiple medications. My dog had already been on fluoxetine with no perceivable impact. We tried gabopentin, clonidine, and are now about to try sertraline.
Eventually we got in with the new trainer at their board & train program. I know these programs are a bit controversial, but we needed to see change and were desperate. Plus, the idea of having our girl being observed by a professional trainer full-time was appealing. Maybe this level of time could give the trainer insight into what the problem is and how to best care for her.
About a week and a half after we got her back, she regressed. I had sent her to her crate as part of a training excercise and was on my way to close the gate when my partner walked by. She bolted out of her crate, bounded across the room and over our couch to start jumping and snapping at his arm.
Thankfully, muzzle training was part of this new program. She wears one full time when she’s outside of the crate because we simply can’t predict when it will happen. My partner has never been physically hurt by her, even in the original attacks (he wears thick denim jeans, so skin was never broken). But, the anxiety and fear of never knowing when she’ll attack has been pretty detrimental to his mental health.
We don’t know what to do anymore. We’re at the end of our ropes. We have no idea why she’ll be friendly and cuddling with him one moment, and lunging/growling at him the next.

And that is a true story you could just ask me her brother for 11 years And Yuki has favor to ask you guys I would like to know why you join the basketball team My name is Lev And I joined the basketball team cuz it was my passion and I liked it when I was a child so that's why I Joined the basketball team I am Tyga I joined the basketball team cuz my brother used to do it and he taught me how to do it and it kind of was fun for me and he taught me he's really cool tricks and he just made it way more funner and easier to learn so I was happy cuz he taught me a lot of things So that's why I joined the basketball team I am Liam and I joined the basketball team cuz I joined multiple other sports and they were just kind of boring to me and I just didn't do basketball so I tried it out basketball cuz I thought it would be fun and nice to join basketball and would be a nice passion to do cuz I haven't tried it yet and I tried it I was bad at the beginning very bad and five months later I started shooting and I was very good at defense so that's why I joined Hi my name is Lucas and I joined the basketball team cuz my story is kind of like Liam's I used to play soccer and then I got kicked out cuz I was very bad at it and I was very good at using my hands so I decided to join the basketball team I hated the fact that I was terrible at the beginning and I was bare8ly good at using the hands for shooting and it was just like that for a few months I don't know how much it was I don't remember and I met Duri and the others and they taught me a bit how to shoot and I'm here now I’m Rowan I joined the basketball team cuz I wanted to play it with Duri And the others plus they taught me a lot of new tricks that's our stories thank you for sharing your stories guys but we sould go to the restaurant yeah we sould go.

Well for the past few years my gs has been hiding behind my owning of a house that I am suppose to have owned because he was suppose to sign it over to me in this high stakes game he has been playing with and without people knowing they are playing. To put it so you can understand it means he is hiding out in my house and hasn't told anyone the address except his people and has paid them off not to tell me anything. Now that he is so close to jail he is wanting them to bust me for harboring a fugitive and aiding and abetting. So if I write this they are saying I won't get paid but the game is saying that I will. So now that they are trying to keep my favorite band from playing next weekend I am at a point where that man needs to be gone forevermore. I have had so many problems from this man and his henchmen that I am on the verge of being on the streets while he is in my house and spending the crap out of my money that he stole by cashing my prize money.

It seems apart from tyraels might, shako, and starless the other Ubers seem to be far from BIS. As much as I love the changes and the vast improvement this game has made it seems Ubers just well aren’t all that UBER anymore.
For example I after much farming found a doombringer from tormented Duriel. And I must say as a rapid fire rogue or any other rogue I can’t fathom giving up two tempering slots and greater affixes AND an aspect - all for the lacking affixes the doom bringer provides. Even the %dmg and damage reduction doombringer provides from its aspect still not anywhere near enough.
I masterworked it all the way to 8 even after trying to 10 still just feels like a big lack of dmg. I struggle at the boss on pit 89 where as when I switch back to my normal sword the boss on 89 seems like a breeze. (Unless it’s a shadow dmg boss in which case regardless of what I do I am screwed by the dumb one shot and ridiculous shadow dmg)
Don’t get me wrong I get it you can’t please everyone but after playing for the last few seasons and desperately trying to get the doombringer when I finally got it it’s such a lackluster item that it’s a proper kick to any kind of gratification. Oh well. For now it has been set aside to be bricked to maybe create tyraels might.
I hope blizzard that maybe in the middle of the season patch you could kindly buff these Ubers. Please.

I’ve been scrolling this subreddit and it’s making me want to stop playing, so I need advice. Im very sensitive to scary aspects of any game, especially jumpscares and not having a ‘safe place’ where I can relax. Is the randomly spawning suction cup monster going to ruin the game for me once I get to the labs?
I absolutely love my bases - my bro and I have two - one in the 2nd floor security office, and one in the little room over the Blacksmith. The purple portals always open down by the robot near the sec office during raid nights and I set up a testa coil out front so I never have to worry about raids, but now I’m reading about this monster that comes through walls and doesn’t care about my base being ‘safe’.
Am I correct in this? I have really enjoyed this game but I can’t handle constant jumpscares. Is there an easy way to handle them and make my base safe again once they become an issue?
Again I love the game and most of the scary aspects I’ve adjusted to. This one seems more challenging. Thanks in advance!

Making friends is hard, but it might be the only hope there is for the future.
This is a Fallout inspired campaign using the Mutant Year Zero rules.

If you are familiar with the “Genre Alignment Chart”, I would describe the campaign as “Nobledark”. This means that the world is an awful, dark place, but one where positive change is possible, and the actions of individuals matter. You might not be able to save the universe, but you will be able to have meaningful impact on a small scale.
Player buy-in: My games tend to focus more on the characters and roleplay than on the game mechanics. We focus on what the characters do, and then when it’s needed, we filter that through the rules of the game. Characters will be doing a lot of investigation, exploration, and though combat will be less common, it will be decisive and dangerous. Interpersonal drama and intrigue will be available and encouraged. A major feature will be making tough decisions as a group about what is best, and what is most important. PCs are generally expected to be “good” people.
No previous experience with Mutant Year Zero or the setting is required.
A bit about me: I’ve been GMing for a long time, and I get to play often, but I greatly prefer to GM. I tend to follow the rules, but I also don’t mind adjusting the rules when they don’t seem to work for what we are trying to do.

So my husband (30m) is playing an online game and someone has joined the party. My husband put it on loud so I could listen to some of the things this person who has joined their team was saying. It was in depth about particle physics and theories and I was in my element. This went on for a while and I said to this person do they have any online profiles I can add them on to talk about theories and just swap and I go dump science facts 😂. I’m very science based and don’t A, have many friends or B, have anyone in my small friend circle that enjoys my interests. My husband has just all of a sudden gone very funny and has said he doesn’t want me talking to or having anything to do with this person until he gets to know him as apparently he doesn’t know if he can trust him to converse with me. He has many online friends from games (men and women) and I’ve never even raised an eyebrow at that. I never even considered having to vet any females. Am I the asshole for wanting to talk to this person about my science obsession and have the prospect of hopefully making a new friend or am I in the wrong like my husband seems to think I am?
