Dwarf Sunflowers From Seed
I am a total newbie just testing the waters into plants and such. I bought a kit to grow dwarf sunflowers this season. I planted 5 like they recommended and three have come up beautifully. I have them under grow lights about 12 hours a day and make sure the soil is kept adequately moist and they have been growing extremely quick. I am concerned the longest one, which popped first, is bending over and was wondering should I prop him up with something or let it go?
I also don't know at what point to I repot them into a regular sized pot and do I split them up or can I keep them together? Also does anyone have any recommendations for soil type when I repot them, and do they need feeding or just watering?
I am moving them outside on my deck in full sun once they've been established in the new pot since they can get up to 3 feet tall and I lack space in my home for that with having two cats that would definitely eat them. I wouldn't be able to keep them off the sunflowers, unless someone has any ideas/suggestions on how to do that. I think the sunflowers would be happier out on the deck with real sun rather than grow lights anyway. The grow lights were meant to be temporary until I moved them over into a regular pot.
Any help would greatly appreciated. :)

2024.05.21 14:46 CalebVanPoneisen The Five Orbs of Knowledge

“Will you look at that,” Captain Yontan marveled from the observation deck. They had arrived in the Solar System at long last, the old bastion of knowledge mankind had abandoned many millennia ago.
“Such a basic tech, yet so beautiful, so… poetic,” Lezlybe uttered, gazing at the constant flux of Sunfire Conduit pulled from the sun to one, two, three relays, and finally to the surface of Pluto, where its energy was being harnessed inside a crater. “And you’re certain that’s where the Ultimate Knowledge is stored?”
“Yes,” Yontan nodded. “Every clue leads to Pluto. Can you imagine? The Ultimate Knowledge, lost for millennia, on this planet out of all places.”
“Ready to descend at your command, captain,” announced Ghenna.
Yontan turned to his crew and smiled. It was the first time they had seen him do that in months. “Hover around the south-south-eastern quadrant of the crater. That’s where the entrance is supposed to be.”
“Yes, Sir!”
Lezlybe’s turned to face the captain, her long black hair swirling around with her.
“Wouldn’t that energy burn us on approach?”
“It might be basic tech, but not that basic, Lez,” said Yontan. “It’s safe up to a distance of 100 meters. Don’t underestimate the intelligence of our ancestors because they built this thing in the distant past. They were as smart as us. Smarter even, in certain aspects, I’m sure.”
“Found the entrance, captain,” said Ghenna. It was a pale peach colored door built on the craterside.
“Land near it, wherever it’s stable.”
“Yes, Sir!”
The ship touched down next to the Hollis Crater. Yontan and four others suited up and left the craft. Before heading for the door, the team stopped to gaze at the Sunfire Conduit from their position. It went up, up, up as far as the eye could see.
Jmerr was awestruck.
“I can’t believe we’re able to look at it with basic sun visors. Do you think our ancestors purposefully designed it like that?”
“Of course,” said Yontan, mesmerized by the spiraling blaze swooshing down the crater. “Aesthetics have always been important, especially since it used to be connected to three planets, two dwarf planets, and eight moons. Many renown painters have depicted the Conduits in their art. Although no physical portraits survived, their works have been well documented over hundreds of books.”
Lezlybe approached Jmerr and put her hand over his shoulder.
“I kind of wish we could hear its thunderous sound. I imagine it’d be a satisfying swoosh, kind of like a blowtorch.”
“You’d be deaf before you’d hear a thing,” laughed Yontan. “We’re speaking of extremely powerful jets coming from a star, after all. I can’t wait to see why they’re pulling so much energy on such a small planet. It’s totally excessive in my view.”
“Maybe it’s not,” said Lezlybe. “Especially if the Ultimate Knowledge is behind this door.”
The team approached the door, a small black panel to its side. Yontan placed a round device on top and, seconds later, it retracted into the ground.
“A Grampus?” frowned Jmerr, even though no one could see his face behind the visor. “Why do you use this old AI?”
“Because I don’t know the code,” explained Yontan as they stepped inside a long hall. “So I brought this device with me to crack the password. Don’t forget that this here is also old tech. Newer devices could break something.” He glanced over his shoulder at the wide-open entryway with the ship not too far behind. “But it looks like the Grampus broke it anyway since it doesn’t slide shut.”
At the end of the wide turquoise hall, another door was easily popped open with Yontan’s device. This time, however, the heavy door closed shut when the last person stepped in.
“I hope we’re not trapped in this small room,” gulped Lezlybe.
“Don’t worry, we can ask someone on board to cut it open if needed,” said Yontan. “After all we –”
PSHHHHHHHH
A burst of gas sprayed them from all sides, followed by a shower of heavy liquid. A few moments after it stopped, the door in front of them opened, and a gentle male voice greeted them.
“Welcome to U.K. ONE. The current air pressure is at 101.3 kilopascals, with a temperature of 22.4 degrees Celsius and a humidity level set at 60% RH.”
The voice then proceeded to inform them about the room’s condition among other sets of data.
“I see. We were inside a basic decompression chamber,” muttered Jmerr.
The tallest crewmate, Lessandre, popped his helmet off and took a deep breath.
“Ah, historical fresh air,” he boomed, looking around the oval room. “It brings a tear to my eye.”
“What are you doing?” Yontan shouted. “We don’t know what particles or microorganisms could linger in here.”
“Relax, captain. Tyche analyzed the air and told me it’s fine. Why don’t you all retract your visors and experience this multimillennial-old air? You’ll never have the chance to do that again, you know.”
Yontan checked with his own version of his AI, Tyche, and everything seemed to be fine, so he retracted the visor of his helmet as well, just in time to scratch an itch on his beard. The rest of the crew followed, except for Jmerr.
“Come on, Jmerr. It’s a unique experience, my friend,” beamed Lessandre, tapping on his shoulder.
Jmerr scowled at Lessandre. “I refuse to take unnecessary risks.”
“As you wish,” Lessandre grinned, loudly sniffing the air. “Ahhh. The air in here is exceptionally… how to describe it?”
“Dusty?” Lezlybe chimed in. “I think the auto-clean on the filter stopped working long ago.”
Yontan was ignoring his crew, inspecting the walls of this oval room for clues. But the room was pretty much empty, outside of the air conditioning holes and lights flickering on the ceiling.
“I know there’s another door on the other side of the crater, but that one’s the entrance to the accumulator and workspaces,” he muttered to himself, caressing the wall in the hopes of finding a button or a gap of sorts.
“Is that place also turquoise?” asked Lessandre. “I really hate this color. Reminds me too much of my ex.”
Lezlybe rolled her eyes.
“Then why don’t we go there?” asked Ghenna, who had closed her visor since she didn’t like the smell.
“Because,” began Yontan absent-mindedly while brushing his hands over the wall, “every document points to this place. We’ll check the other site if we don’t find anything here. Now if only I – aha! A button. This might be it.”
Yontan pushed it with his finger. Instead of clicking, like any other button would, his index finger sank completely in. He immediately withdrew it, fearing something might cut his finger off. But the button came back, except it was now white and protruded out of the wall. Yontan hesitantly pressed it.
An oval pedestal emerged from the middle of the floor, gradually rising until it reached chest height. The left side slid open with melodious clicks, and out came a small table with a round black object on it with a sky-blue center. Before they had the time to guess what it was, a hologram rose from it, displaying the head of an old balding man with a lazy eye.
“Greetings, future humans,” said the feeble voice. “And welcome to K.U. ONE. What is your purpose here?”
Yontan glanced at his crew, who gave him a nod and shrugs. He cleared his throat and spoke clearly, “We’ve come here to gain access to the Ultimate Knowledge, which is said to contain the answers to our purpose within the universe.”
“I see. And you are one, two, five. Oh! That is good news, good news indeed. I’ve been waiting for you. Well, not me per se, since I’m long dead, I suppose,” the hologram laughed, “but my digital image. And five? Oh, proof that nothing happens at random.”
Yontan was slightly taken aback.
“Wait. You’re not a simple recording?”
“No, no. I’m enhanced with artificial intelligence. It speaks as I would speak, saying what I asked it to say – with a bit of panache. Now, move to the other side of the pedestal. It will pop open and contain a box.”
The other side popped open, displaying a silver box embossed with gold on the edges. It was beautiful. Lessandre grabbed it and tried to pry it open.
“Tut-tut! You need the key to open the box. I’ll hand it over only of you accept to eat its contents.”
“Eat it?” Yontan uttered in excitement. “Will it alter our brains? Give us the knowledge we yearn for?”
“Not quite. But it is a necessary step.”
“I won’t touch it,” Jmerr stated firmly. “I don’t trust this man. Whatever’s inside, it’s been in there for thousands of years. There’s no way it’s still edible.”
“Oh but it is,” grinned the man. “What do you think the Sunfire Conduit is used for?”
“What?” uttered Lezlybe. “The power of the sun used for… food?”
“Of course, there’s more to it. But a lot of energy is necessary to cool it down to near zero kelvin and keep it that way until it’s very slowly reheated to the ideal temperature for you to savor.
“Now, will you eat its contents or not?”
“Why don’t we bring it back to the ship and study it?” suggested Jmerr.
“The moment you leave the room with the box, its contents will be destroyed, and so will the key to Ultimate Knowledge.”
Yontan exchanged a glance with his crew. Lessandre gave him thumbs up, Ghenna nodded and Lezlybe shrugged. Jmerr was the only one to firmly shake his head.
“Fine, we’ll eat its contents,” said Yontan, upon which Jmerr put his hands up in the air in frustration.
A key appeared from the front of the pedestal. Yonan used it to open the box Lessandre was holding. Five dark-brown spherical objects were neatly placed within fitting molds, resembling the five dots on a die.
“Behold the Five Orbs of Knowledge,” the hologram said solemnly. “I recommend one for each of you.”
Jmerr crossed his arms. “There’s no way I’m touching this.”
“What if someone eats two?” asked Yontan, eyeing Jmerr.
“It would sadden me, even though it might be beneficial to grasp the Ultimate Knowledge.”
Without hesitation, Lessandre popped the middle one in his mouth. Every other crewmate was staring at him. A few bites in, he suddenly froze, eyes wide open. His gaze slowly shifted from Yontan, to Lezlybe, to Ghenna – whose visor was now lowered – and finally stopped on Jmerr.
“Awl eash ‘em bofh,” he rapidly chewed, popping a second one in. “Awl eash ‘em owl ihf you guysh downt.”
Yontan’s hand was shaking as he picked his Orb. Lezlybe and Ghenna also chose one.
“On the count of three,” gulped Yontan, as he noticed the horrified look on Jmerr. “One… two… three!”
The shell of the Orb had a slight crunch, with a rather soft, creamy inner core, gently melting on their tongue. Sweet with a zest of bitterness. Each bite, each movement of their tongue was another moment they savored, dreading the end of this unique flavor. It was an explosion of exoticism, a sensory overload inside their mouth; the richness of the Orb filled their taste buds and souls alike with pure bliss.
Then there was the aroma, dissolving the dusty odor of the room with its arboraceous perfume. It reminded them of Terrestrial woods, now planted across various planets in the Milky Way. Comforting, ancient, nostalgic, and so raw at heart.
Fortunately, this jolly adventure didn’t end after they swallowed it, no, each residue, sticking to the various corners of their mouths, lingered like a fleeting memory soon to disappear forever. Yet it was still there, to grasp with the palm of their hands. But when they tried to, it became vapor, dwindling, yet etched in their brains with such strength it would be impossible to ever forget this moment. Ever.
Their minds were still floating on a cloud of ecstasy when Yontan stared at Lessandre.
“You ate two,” he breathed. “And you,” he turned to Jmerr, “you have no idea what you’ve just missed. It’s… indescribably delectable.” Yontan faced the hologram. “Please, give us one more, for Jmerr. He has to try this… Orb.”
The hologram grinned widely, creasing the old man’s entire face.
“These were the last five. There are no more.”
WHAT?” everyone shouted at once.
“Th– that’s it? No more?” Yontan’s shoulder slumped. “Why didn’t you tell us earlier? We could’ve taken it back to the ship and try to recreate it.”
“It’s impossible without the recipe.”
“A recipe? Give it to us, I don’t care about Ultimate Knowledge anymore,” Lessandre laughed.
“But you had two,” Lezlybe scowled.
“And I want more,” he chuckled. “I’ve never felt better in my life. Even two were far too few!”
“Yes, hand us the recipe so we can share it with the rest of the crew,” pleaded Yontan.
The hologram seemed more and more pleased with itself.
“Even if I gave you the recipe you couldn’t make it when the main ingredient’s missing.”
“What’s the main ingredient?” Ghenna asked.
“Cacao. And these were chocolate truffles, which I made myself utilizing the very last cacao beans to ever exist. I’m sorry. You’ll never eat chocolate ever again.”
Jmerr seemed disappointed upon hearing it, especially after seeing how everyone reacted to it.
“B – but… why?” Yontan asked. “Why offer us a delicious treat only to punch us in the gut right after?”
The hologram smiled. “Think. What is your purpose here?”
“To acquire Ultimate Knowledge… But I fail to understand…”
“If my clock is correct, 3622 years have passed since the last human – which is myself – set wheels in this room. 3622 years of technological advancement, of accumulated mastery of various sciences and understanding of the universe. Yet you believe Ultimate Knowledge is to be found in the past?”
The crewmembers looked at each other, dumbfounded.
“So… it doesn’t exist?” suggested Lezlybe. “We’ve come this far for nothing…”
“Haven’t you just experienced the ultimate delicacy of humankind? Therein lies everything you need to know.”
“It’s not about the knowledge,” began Yontan, “but about the experience we savor?”
“Exactly!” Clapping hands appeared in front of the hologram’s face. “Instead of looking for something that may not be, learn to cherish the transient nature of existence through every experience you encounter. Who knows what happens once you’re dead? Constant hesitation leads to a life of lost opportunities. One of you has learned this lesson the hard way, I’m afraid. However, the tall man over there has greatly benefited from this lesson. Balance in all things!”
“No data is ever lost,” snorted Jmerr scornfully. “Death is simply the temporary loss of information until it’s retrieved.”
“The no-hiding theorem,” smiled the hologram. “Of course. But you wouldn’t be here if you could completely determine the state of the entire universe. Thus, my rhetoric stays valid. For as long as this is beyond our grasp – likely until humanity’s extinction – you ought to cherish every experience and lose your fear of consequences within reason.”
The room went silent, the subtle taste of chocolate still lingering in their mouths like the fading words of an old love letter.
“What do we do now, captain?” Ghenna asked shyly.
“Take your new-found knowledge and share it with others,” the hologram said before Yontan could open his mouth.
“So… there really is nothing else here?”
“Nothing at all.”
The hologram fluttered for a moment.
“Were these really the last pieces of chocolate?”
“Yes.”
“Then why didn’t you eat them yourself?”
“Because sharing is the quintessential attribute of humanity. And I’m glad to have contributed my part, even though it took several millennia.”
“So why use all that energy from the sun?” asked Lezlybe.
“It’s twofold,” said the hologram. “Partially to keep this chocolate in pristine state, as I said before. You’ll understand the second reason soon enough. Let’s say it’s a parting gift, for that man who hasn’t eaten his Orb.”
“I don’t understand.” Yontan was running his fingers through his hair. “You speak of sharing, yet we won’t be able to share this exquisite experience. There’s no chocolate left.”
“Share the wisdom you’ve acquired. Or perhaps you shall find something unique to share with others as I did. Even the stories of your adv–”
The man disappeared for a few seconds.
“–entures – Ah? We’ve been cut. Soon I shall be free, just like your minds. Swiftly return to your ships, and sail t–”
It flickered again and stopped for nearly ten seconds.
“–he vast empty space to… wherever your heart leads you. Farewell. Fare well indeed.”
The hologram zoomed out to show an old man sitting on a wheelchair, waving both hands. It flickered one last time before completely fading out with a hum.
Suddenly, a familiar voice spoke from everyone’s earpiece.
“Captain, is everything all right?” asked one of the crew left on the ship in a panic.
“Why? Did the entrance crumble down?”
“No, Sir. It’s the Conduit. You need to see this for yourself.”
The crew put on their visors and hurried out of the room, through the hallway, out on the freezing surface of Pluto. They gasped upon staring up.
“The Conduit!” Ghenna uttered.
It was oscillating, slowly shrinking until the last flames swooshed back and forth from the relay to the crater, and then, it retracted entirely.
“It’s… it’s gone…” sighed Yontan.
“The parting gift,” Jmerr sobbed. “He knew. He knew someone might not try out the chocolate truffle, and he purposefully shut down the entire system.”
Lessandre turned to Jmerr. “Consider this your incredible experience. We must be the only humans to ever see this happen in real time.”
“But we can reconnect it, unlike the chocolate, can’t we?” said Lizlybe.
Yontan shook his head. “Do you know of the ancient pyramids in the northern African continent?”
“Yeah…” she hesitated. “Vaguely.”
“Do you know why they’ve never been rebuilt?”
Lezlybe shrugged.
“Because there’s nothing to gain in doing so.” He pointed his finger at the vast expanse above him. “We’ve never rebuilt the ancient pyramids – not due to complexity, but due to loss of time and resources involved without any actual benefit. I’m afraid this is the last time anyone has admired this old tech at work.”
Upon their return on the ship, they told the rest of the crew what inside the U.K. ONE.
“So the Ultimate Knowledge doesn’t exist?” one of the crewmember asked.
Yontan took one last glance at the crater as the ship took off.
“I believe it does,” he beamed, looking at the bemused faces of his crew. “Not here.” He gently tapped his temple. “But here.” His hand rested on his chest. “And there.” His arms were wide open, as if trying to embrace his whole crew at once. “Acquired wisdom is the Ultimate Knowledge. And the ability to share experiences with others is our greatest gift.”

Catching up on the Tohoku Times
Finally finding some time after resting to do my writing. The bike shop experience was a little sweaty in the hot weather, and while we were outside working on our bikes, not only did the wife of the mechanic go get us an iced coffee and an ice cream, she later made us care packages with an energy gel and a bunch of electrolyte tablets. Looking inside, it would seem this shop has been the home of a pro-level team for a long time, so I imagine they have a lot of these things on hand, but it was still very nice.
My wheel repair went well, the bumps and wobbles straightening out with the spoke repair. Bryce had them look at his front wheel, which had a different problem. He took a look at it, and after some consideration he said it was a "maintenance challenge" and proceeded to pull out a lot of wrenches. Bryce gleaned that the hub of the wheel needed tightening, and he did not have the correct wrenches to deal with this decidedly north american model. But he did have ones that were close enough and with some effort he managed to make it better to ride. After all was said and done we asked how much for the repairs and he tells us that he's a volunteer for the day, that this is his son's shop and he's just hanging out for the day because it's a holiday! We were flabbergasted but again he would not take any payment. We talked with him a bunch and he told us that he's in his 70's and attributes his good health to his biking, which he proudly states he's been doing for over 60 years now. We said he was an inspiration and said our goodbyes.
We were lucky to get the repairs done so quick, as it gave us just enough time to hit up the aquarium. We needed to ride just 12km to get there, and a nice tunnel took us through a mountain range instead of us having to go over it. I was tired, the stress of the string of repairs really getting to me. But we arrived with an hour and a half til closing and got to see the aquarium which was a big white building tucked up against sea cliffs on the sea of Japan. I felt instantly more at ease, the temperature feeling more moderate by the water, which was calm as the day went on.
The aquarium was lovely, with an obvious focus on jellyfish. I don't usually like aquariums or zoos due to what appears to be inadequate facilities for the inhabitants, but jellyfish in a tank? I don't think jellyfish care, or have the ability to care. This is like having a series of terrariums in my mind, jellyfish are one step above insects in my mind. And jellies they had, loads and loads of jellies, some on the larger side and lots of teeny tiny ones that almost can't be seen at all without magnification. They really do look like little automatons, just wiggling around. The tanks were all very tastefully lit, highlighting UV reactive cells, long streaming tendrils (that I'm sure have a proper name), and rainbow shimmering reflective cells that look deceptively like teeny tiny LEDs on little ridges. The prime attraction was the dream theatre, a dark room with a 5m tall tank circulating with hundreds or thousands of jellies and lit with a dreamy blue and purple light. We saw posters of famous artists performing in front of the jellyfish tank, the theatre being aptly named.
We missed out on the jellyfish ramen noodles, it being a bit too late in the day, but we did get to enjoy the late day views from on top of the aquarium. Why did we ever leave the ocean? Flat roads, sunsets unmarred by dumb terrain, beaches. It's the best. I love beaches. Looking at the map, we'd have to cover 120km to get to Akita to take the ferry to hokkaido, so we decided to cover some ground while we still had light so as to not overload the next day should something happen. On we went. We zoomed past pastel-lit beaches, seeing folks sitting in pairs, waiting for the sunset. We've seen people stop right on highways if they have a good view of the sunset. We had no such time to enjoy it today.
An hour or so later, we covered 20km to Sakata. Bryce wanted fried chicken for dinner, so we went to a takeout place and got way too much chicken for the two of us to eat. It can be hard to tell what you're getting, as one piece of karaage can be anything from a morsel to a meal, in this case we had more of a meal per piece along with rice and cabbage. We got some drinks from a vending machine and ate the food by a river, watching the water go by as the light faded. For once, we couldn't finish all the food, which was a shock. I always finish the food. Good job, random chicken place, you win this round.
I found a big empty looking beach in the middle of nowhere on the map about 10km north of our position, so we prepared to set out for a night ride. Rain was in the forecast for the next morning, which meant we needed a private place that we wouldn't be bothered for an extended time during daylight hours. And we'd need to reduce our kilometers for the next day as we'd probably have to bike some of it in the rain, which sucks. As we were biking through the city, we happened upon a summer festival, people filling the streets. The usual assortment of festival treats didn't steal our attention, but I stopped for a moment to examine a line of white painted ladies in front of a stage that were talking turns talking about something or another. If only we had the time to watch the performance!
We instead used our valuable time biking to a convenience store to one again get water, food, and some canned coffee for the next morning. Always an exciting time. We left the city, things now fully dark. The highway was not the best, lots of cracks and parts filled in with patches, and my focus wasn't the best. Obstructions become much harder to see in the light of a headlight, even harder to see when you have to use the dimmest setting as the headlamp always seems to be close to dying. My body bitched that it was the wrong time of day to be biking, I should already be setting up camp and kicking back, not pressing for an extra 10km.
We did eventually make it to the beach intact, if a bit worn out, rolling down a sandy road until we had to push our bikes over dune-encrusted paths. Nobody here except a handful of night fishers, but they only care about fish. We pushed our bikes along the beach until we found a lonely pair of shelters for picnics and began setting up there. It seemed like a good spot, and we could tie up the tarp for extra rain protection. Giant wind fences on the beach would help with any gusts coming off the sea, but we weren't expecting a lot of wind anyways. Feeling like I'd have extra time in the morning, I got to sleep instead, feeling more tired than ever.
I slept very long, clearly the need for sleep piling up on me. We got to bed a little later than I wanted, but it was indeed raining when I woke in the morning, so I went back to sleep and luckily got a few more hours. We discovered in the morning light that we were not the only ones to think highly of the shelters, with little ants crawling all over the outside of the tent. Not a big deal, but a little unnerving considering we haven't always been perfect about getting the zippers all the way closed. We had some breakfast in bed (which inevitably led to a spilled coffee) and read for a little bit, but debates about getting going started pretty quickly. The rain didn't look like it was going to let up, which meant we were going to have to get going or risk riding at night again.
It was late in the morning when we were ready to go, rain gear donned and our spirits as high as they would be all day. We had 95km to ride, half a day to do it, and we were already soaked. On we went. Rice planting is in full swing now, everywhere we go there's farmers hurredly planting thousands of tiny sprouts in prepared fields. Early on there was a bit of a roadside attraction in the form of a curiously coloured pond, which we dutifully checked out. The pond was indeed a brilliant blue green colour and very clear, like the water of some onsens we've seen. Reading a sign, the pond was the source of the little rivers nearby and the water was extremely cold which kept it from fouling.
As we rode, the mist rising off the hills looked like smoke. We hoped the rain would turn to just mist soon. Wiping my face for the hundredth time, we slowly pedaled on. Rain pants tug on my skin, making knee pain feel more prominent. We bike slower too, I think the water on the road is just harder to bike on. Feels like slow motion compared to fair weather riding. After 30km, I needed to stop and get some real food in me, I found a mandarin restaurant serving spicy ramen, which sounded perfect for a cold, stiff day like this. We left our dripping rain gear outside where it might get slightly dryer simply by gravity, and went in, still sorta dripping anyways.
Inside, the restaurant was filled to the brim with knickknacks and collectables and was bright and cheery despite the weather outside. I found a place to plug in my headlamp and we both ordered big bowls of spicy soup and colas for the sugar and caffeine boost we'd need to keep going. The soup was flavorful and delicious, with a ground pork that was sweet instead of savoury. Last time I made sweet pork it was kinda gross so it was neat to have a sweet pork that wasn't bad. I ate my whole bowl, needing all the calories I could get, and settled down a bit to check the radar for the area.
As can be expected for the coast, the weather was temperamental. It was good we got going, as the section behind us was being hammered, while we could expect a bit of a reprieve from the rain as we moved forward. That was about as good as we could hope for and with the clock striking 2 (and playing a song) in the restaurant, we departed.
The sky brightening a bit from a dreary grey to a less dreary grey, our moods lifted for a while while our jackets dried off in the breeze. The sights were beautiful, in a desolate sort of way. Something about staring off into seemingly infinite ocean is unsettling to me. The evergreens on rocky spits in the ocean reminded us of the west coast trail, a few unbothered sections of coast here and there revealing what this land is supposed to look like under all the concrete pylons and coast management techniques Japan loves.
After an hour, I began having some real issues. My heart rate had spiked, my vision was a little odd, and I was starting to not feel well. Not good. I drank a bunch of water, which helped, but eventually my body decided the spicy ramen was too oily and spicy for my guts and I went to destroy a convenience store. I felt better after, but I really should know better by now. There's so much oil in the cooking here though, it's hard to avoid sometimes.
We kept riding, now with no rain gear and keeping up a respectable pace. We went on a desolate road, giant windmills standing guard on the coast overlooking fields of windburnt trees all bent away from the water. Looks like this coast gets absolutely hammered by the wind, maybe I shouldn't complain too much about the rain if it's not windy as well. Things were looking up, our pace put us on schedule to arrive at 6, well before dark which put us in better spirits. Better spirits until Bryce's tire blew out.
Pulling apart the tire layers, incredulous that the so-called "flatless" tires would fail us now, we found a shard of black glass stabbed straight through the thickest part of the tire and a centimeter into the tube section. Well there's no bike tire on earth that can survive that, that one's just bad luck. We felt a little better about that as we set about replacing it. At least with the new rim Bryce had it was much less of a fight to get the tire on and off to replace the tube. Getting the bead to set was a pain, Bryce cycled the tube pressure three times and we even soaped the edge to get it to budge. It seemed good enough to me, but the rim of the tire definitely seemed a little inconsistent. The rain starting again, we debated what we should do, I argued that if he was careful and avoided bumps the bead might set itself and we didn't have any other techniques we could try. He wasn't able to pull the tire over any more and my hands were too weak to be of much help. We were wet and cold by this point, so Bryce agreed with this and we remounted and got moving. We could always take the train if we had to, but that wasn't an option we wanted to do just yet.
I was in the rear and I could immediately see and hear something was wrong with Bryce's bike, even though I was focused on the tire bead to see if it was setting properly. It looked like his front and back tires were tracking different paths and one or both seemed to be leaning? I know the front tire had a hub issue so I thought maybe they're just a bit off but after a while I called a halt as it looked just too messed up not to try reseating the axle. While we were redoing the rear axle, we discovered that a bolt holding the rear pannier rack was close to coming out altogether, the source of the terrible rattling I've been hearing for weeks now! That was a relief to fix, and the wheel seemed to be sitting better. Now we were quite a bit later, projections looking more like 7 o'clock and getting dark by the time we got to the city.
The sky was getting lighter, but it was the sun starting to sink below the cloud layer, signaling the end of the day and the last of our riding light. I was so tired by this point, bone tired. The rain makes every kilometer feel like two, I was sneezing again, feeling sad. Lots of harsh feelings were welling up, life starting to roar back into focus as all the things I pushed away for the past year demanded answers right now. I tried my best to file away the petitions as I could, but mostly I just tried to keep my head up as my mood sunk lower with the sun. My sinuses decided they'd had enough and shut down, making my head feel like it was a size too big. In the last light of the day we got to Akita, the end of our Tohoku adventure. The kindness of the people we met saved us from finding the whole region cursed.
I demanded burgers and fries to lift my soggy mood, nothing in my tool box keeping me happy. Luckily there was a good looking place near our hotel to try and it was a countertop kinda place. We went in to find a fully charming establishment full of locals and a pair of chefs working the counter. I was feeling just awful but Bryce had a good time interacting with people. Everyone was very curious about the two colourful and very wet foreigners who had wandered in after parking very large and heavy bikes. I joined in on the answers, having the better language skills whenever Bryce couldn't parse what was being asked, but I was more focused on the pile of fries and the chili burger I ordered. People were flabbergasted that we came all the way from the southern end of the country, the chefs assuming we must have come from Tokyo instead. Some of the other patrons started rattling off Canadians they knew, with Justin Bieber ("Justinoo Beeberu!") and Celine Dion topping the list. I ordered a BLT sandwich as I was still starving even after a whole meal. The chef brought over a bottle of nice sake to have as a toast to the brave travellers, which I had to refuse as I would like to recover from this cold sometime this century. There's so much booze that it's hard not to here.
To alleviate the embarrassment of having to refuse the booze, he offered me a ginger ale instead, which I graciously accepted. The other chef laughed as they pulled out a bottle "Canada Dry" she said, to the laughter of the bar. Taste of home in a strange place. I polished off my BLT (and considered a second) and while I'm sure Bryce could have spent all evening taking free shots of excellent sake with the bartender, we had to be up early, so we said our goodbyes and waved as we wheeled our bikes into the dark city. I left in a good mood, but tired as hell. Bryce was positivity beaming from the fun interactions, and the four drinks he had. The hotel was nearby, so it wasn't too hard. A parking attendant ushered us to a spot near the guardhouse, and we locked up there. He asked us when we were thinking of getting the bikes the next day, and when we said 430 in the morning he was a little taken aback. He understood that the ferry was early but that was too early for him.
The hotel room was nice enough, but all I wanted was a bath and sleep. There were bath salts at the front desk and we took turns soaking in the tub. I wasted no time, doing my thing, arranging my clothes for the morning, setting an alarm and going to sleep. 415 would be just around the corner.

Chapter 7 is here, hope you enjoy
huge thanks to Objective-Farm-2560 for helping with spelling and proof reading and wording
[First]-[Previous]-[Next]
Memory Transcription Subject: Vaill, Venlil Rescue
Date [standardized human time]: November 30, 2136
Annek still refused to leave my side, she cared so much for Andrew and I… I had been going through the internet and found test results from the government, declaring that humans did, in fact, feel empathy… which explained a lot… but.. It.. they… shouldn’t have it at all…
I… Don’t trust it.. But… But it’s so kind… everything I've ever been taught… everything I've ever known tells me I should fear it… But he it's so kind.. It has to be a lie … It has to be…
I had to teach myself to survive after my father died.. I had only the guild.. They picked me up when I had nothing they saved me.. And here stood a predator that spat in the face of everything I’ve been taught.. All those people.. The people that raised me can’t be wrong… but the government test results... They have nothing to gain from faking this…
It has to be some kind of predatory trickery. But Andrew… it comforted me even after I slapped down Its paw of friendship at every turn…
Andrew had left once again, giving me more room to talk to Annek in private, which I intended to take full advantage of.
Even if it could feel empathy, it was still a predator. I need to see what they have done to my planet. I need to talk to another Exterminator.
“A-Annek?”
Her focus turned to me. “Yes Vaill?”
“I-is there any chance I could go outside… I w-wanna feel the sun of my fur again” I asked sheepishly.“Vaill, I’ve told you that we don’t want you going outside, whether you know the truth about ‘Gaians’ or not,” she replied sternly yet sympathetically.
“Could you p-please ask again...?” I knew they would say no, so I would use this as a chance to escape.
I was never good at speeches or running offices, but I was good at thinking on my paws. It wasn’t through mind numbing paperwork that I became a prestige Exterminator.
“I don’t want to leave your side but fine,” She sighed. “Just wait here. I’ll be a few {minutes}”
I flicked my ears in appreciation before she stood up and walked out. This was my chance! I could gauge the predators myself without someone to guide my opinion.
I waited a few moments before getting up and shuffled to the door and peeked out to my left was a long corridor that had other rooms and to my right was… Annek!?
She was leaning on the wall, a look of disappointment on her face.
“Vaill, you haven’t changed one bit, have you? she sighed. “Still as stubborn as ever.”
“W-what? How di-”
“Vaill we have known each other for a very long time, I know how you think. But please just stay inside for a few more paws, you need rest,” she insisted.
She walked over to me and softly guided me back to the bed in my room, rubbing my back with her tail.
Her presence was soothing, so I allowed myself to be guided back, leaning into her and hugging her. I was eternally grateful that she had lived. I felt her arms and tail wrap around me. This was good, calming, even. It allowed me to clear my thoughts.
“Everything will be ok, Vaill.” she quietly whispered into my ear.
“A-Annek? Why are you so sure the humans aren’t p-playing us for fools? I ask because I actually want to know what makes you so sure.” I was sincere when I asked. The actions that the human had done didn’t compute with my training or anything I had been taught.
“Well Vaill, if you aren’t going to brush it off as predatory trickery I’d be happy to tell you,” she replied, with some annoyance in her tone.
“I-I won’t… I-I’m ready to listen.”
I hope I was…
“Well, when we first met on the station, he never forced me to do anything he always waited for me. When the station was attacked the humans did everything they could, sacrificing themselves to protect us,” she spoke somberly as her ear lowered in sadness.
I brushed my tail along her back to comfort her.
“It’s not something you can only hear and believe, I know that… but if you give him a chance Vaill, I know you’ll see the good in him, as I did.”
Maybe I had been too harsh on him… but everything I was taught… I can't just let go of it…
I looked up at Annek and saw that she looked to be on the verge of tears.
She took a deep breath. “After I lost you… I felt.. empty… you were always there for me when I needed you, always there to pick me up when I fell down.” Her arms had moved themselves around me wrapping me in a gentle embrace.
“After you were gone, I had nothing. I was just floating around, stewing in despair. But then Andrew came into my life. He helped me back onto my paws and helped me stabilize my life again.” She sounded so genuine in her appreciation for the human.
Andrew had looked after my best friend while I couldn't… If he was an example of the rest of the humans, maybe they could be trusted… just maybe. But what I knew was that Annek needed both of us… as much as I wanted to… I couldn't push him away without hurting Annek.
“Vaill… I never stopped hoping that you would magically come back… I cried for claws after I was told you were missing,” she practically sobbed.
I had my demons. But in this moment I could comfort her, I moved my tail to gently rub her back while I continued our embrace.
I could see a figure at the door. As Andrew walked in, I felt my instincts start to flare up, but I pushed them down and flicked my ears in greeting.
He was there for Annek… When I wasn’t.. If what she said is true…
…What have I done…?

2024.05.21 14:01 liliumne To my future boyfriend, husband, and soulmate

Dear, the guy who might be the one for me for eternity. I just feel like now is a time for me to write this because there is no other ways to feel better if I keep it in.
I'm 20 years old, I've been single my whole life. There has been a guy I thought was the one for me, but turns out they were not. Now they ran off happily with some other girl. Leaving me breathless and heart broken. Being single for 20 years has been okay, and peaceful. I enjoy being single, but then again I feel also that there are times where I love myself enough and know my standards, I can't seem to help but feel that I want to have a man, the one that will hold my heart gentle. Someone I can go to, EVERYTIME, to cry on and lean on when I'm in desperate need of comfort. I want to feel that love with a man that I read in my books and see in movies. I know there are guys like that out there, and they got their woman just to make them live in that reality. I wish someone could do that for me. Why I plan to write this now? Well, I met a girl not so long ago. She and I share the same interest of reading books. We talked for almost 2 hours until we had to leave to sleep and wake up for the next morning. She told me she was going to the beach the next day with her friends, and I was happy for her. I love beaches but it's not often I go there because where I live, the weather gets quickly cold. But even if a day comes where it's so hot. I can't even afford to get there. I will get my driver license soon and plan on doing so much with a car for the sake of enjoying even if it's little by little. Anyhow, she tells me a moment later that there was a guy and his friends at the beach joining her and her friends playing volleyball. And this certain guy has been eyeing her for a long time. This is where the feeling started, the feeling of ''Wow, she's so lucky'', ''I wish that could happen to me.'' or, ''Why can't that be me, too?''. She explains to me about the guy like a whole romance book started, and there, in the moment, I didn't feel jealous, nor hard feelings on her because she experiencing something all girls who have been single for too long wants it too. I just felt, too happy for her, too happy for her I felt more lonely inside even if i got my soulmate friends. It's just those feelings that pass by but will eventually go away, but will come back naturally and what do I do with it? Just vent it out to myself, anyone, stranger, or a friend. In truth, I'm really tired of how this society of men are going forward. I'm so tired I wonder sometimes if it's even possible. I've interacted with so many guys in my life, it may be hard to believe but really I am speechless how guys are these days. Talking to 30 men, not flirting with all of them at the same time, but just one by one that comes and goes. Not even one, not a single one was never gentle in love. It was rather quick and fast. It makes me wonder where has the slow and gentle love gone? Where is it? Where are you? Where are you in this twisted world that can really love me in a way that feels really love? Home and warm. Safe and comfort. I find it stupid that I come here now writing all this. I'm not sure what I'm trying to gain from here. Maybe I just want someone to truly relate to me. Someone that can speak to my heart in a correct way I'd been wanting someone to do.
So, dear future soulmate, There is so much love I have in me that I truly wanna share with you, even if you're not next to me, not even close, yet further away. I still wait, maybe look for you somewhere and hoping you'd find me. There are many ways I want to say than just ''I love you'', but I want to let you know this way: I've been waiting for you my whole life, for you to be the one and last until i share my last breath. My heart yearns for you in the morning until evening. Every time I look at the sun and feel the warm in my body. I think of you, I think of how you make me feel safe in every way that makes me more in love with you. You truly are magnificent that I could never turn away from the sun you are to me. I'm truly stupid to write this for nobody, but I just want to make my heart heard, I want my heart to feel known by you. If I can hold your heart for one day and more, please let me do it for infinity. I want to give you my heart because that's how much I'd be in love with you, and never give it back to me because you're my reality i've been wanting in my dreams. You are every bit if existence that puts my world on fire in the most extraordinary way. If I could yell out what love feels like, i'd say your name out loud and proud. Knowing that, having you, I can feel like I can do anything because I know, from heart and soul, you'd support me in every way. I love you to an extend that stop loving you feels like an endgame for me. I want to grow old with you and have beautiful kids with you. Finally, I want to know what loves feels like with you. If you are out there. Your most long lost soulmate, A

2024.05.21 13:41 brianiceisnice I’m so mad, heartbroken, sad… I NEED to type this somewhere. IDGAF this my main Reddit account that I do EVERYTHING on… I just need to share this somewhere or my head’ll CAVE IN.. so i’m sharing this on two subreddits so i can BREATHE

TL;DR - selfish asshole of an older brother scams me and my parents out of $200.
Okay, so I’m not doing too well financially, but I live with my Mom and Pops so we try to make ends meet. A couple weeks back we were in such rough shape financially, that I had to juggle three day jobs just to cover rent and suppress the collector’s from knocking on the door regarding our collective debts. We so broke I literally can’t even afford to sleep because in the night=I can get freelance work done. “I can sleep when I’m dead,” has become my full-time motto (unfortunately). Anyways, to try to bring some income in my household I offer services as a freelance video editor.
A while back, my older brother (who’s a career criminal and has flee’d multiple countries when authorities were after him for violent offences) hit me up and asked if I’d be down to edit for him. I was hesitant at first, being as last time I heard from him was after he beat our Mum to a pulp when I was only 12. For context bro or sis, whoever you are that is reading this: if I was only three years older I wouldn’t have let that slide—I would have mobbed his ass right then and there, pinned him down and done him so fucking dirty… IDGAF if my 15 year old ass had gone to juvie for it, I would do anything for my mother, including take a life. But instead, all that’s been imprinted in my brain is how much of a bitch I was at 12–cowering under the dining table as he took multiple shots with a shoe, at our crying helpless mother on the ground.
Anyways it’s been a few years, I’m 24 now and he gave me a big sob story how he has changed. I bought it up like the good little sheeple I am… started editing for him under the guise that he’d pay me $200 per video: SCORE! That’s a lot of money!!!
I got to know his business (shady as fuck) and got to find out he now dreams of being a finance influencer (double shady) but alas, he’s my big bro and no matter what wrong-doing he’s doing, he convinced me that he was a good man. Ight, bet, I’ma edit for him and make some money for the fam! In between his ‘takes’ of videos he sends me, I piece together that his “wife” films the videos, and he’s still an extremely abusive person. He tries not to let it show on camera, but I’m really good with people, emotions and hidden trauma so I can feel the sickening ‘abuser-of-people’ energy SEEPING off of him, still, to this day. I feel sick to my stomach editing for him, but shit, he’s promised me $200 per video. Over the course of a few weeks I can see why he never told us about his wife, it seems he keeps her pent up somewhere in Georgia, Batumi, and forces her to do whatever he wants. He once referred to her as “his slave” which I originally thought was A JOKE, but now in the grand scheme of things… I don’t think it was a joke. I pray that authorities get to them before he does something to her, but idek where to begin to put a ‘concerned citizen tip’ in a foreign country.
Some context as to why I put up with all the red flags: Mom’s not working as she has to take care of the house and she’s also trying to make money online, any ways possible. She’s starting to sell her favourite clothes. It fucking breaks my heart that I can’t do shit about it… at 24 years old, with all the social media influencing and advertising, I feel like garbage that I can’t fully support my parents… at least not yet! Dad is constantly depressed because he’s almost 80 years old and can’t retire ‘cuz my parent’s are in too much debt.
Okay, anyways, three BIG videos done for him (by big, I mean I spent +8 hours on each vid) and brother’s paid me for ONE via PayPal… no worries, he keeps leading me on saying the money will come, the money will come. And PayPal says I got $200 coming my way from him! Uhh ight, bet? Mind you, I start PLANNING my life around this $200 notification because that’s a hot stack for me and my family!!! Takes PayPal about 20 days to actually let me use the money… ridiculous because we NEEDED it… but that’s okay, I work around the problems in life, much like we all have to.
Here comes the turning point: I’m a little overworked and a little coo-coo sometimes, and one night I start telling him personal shit, kinda pouring out my heart to him, venting almost. I don’t really remember about what, just life I guess, nothing negative towards him. Somehow he misconstrues it, gets upset with me, and ‘tells me off.’ I get upset with him, tell him his business is a sham and I’ma change the rules that we agreed upon. Since his fake-ass can’t pay me what was agreed upon, (maybe $200 is a lot for him, as well) so I ask him if we can do $10 per hour instead. I pitch to him that moving forward, anytime I edit more than five hours ($50), I will refuse to edit until the money gets sent. The conversation turns hostile, QUICK. He calls me a ton of bad names with an underlying message that I’m the biggest loser on earth for pursuing a dream in working in Entertainment & he ends it with a sweet “you’ll never be anything.” LOL WHAT? Completely out of pocket and out of left field, so naturally, I tell him to eat shit, I won’t be doing anymore free work and he can pay me a mere $30 (yes, thirty dollars) for the entire portfolio of audios, texts/scripts, videos, and clips I’ve taken from the internet that ‘match’ the vibe he wants in his videos.
Context: at this point I’ve completed SIX FULL VIDEOS FOR THIS DUDE and he’s only paid me the one payment of $200. Not good at maths? Me neither, lemme help you out. He owes me $1,200 from our original agreement because I’ve spent more than 48 collective hours working on his videos, and he’s only paid me $200. But I tell him: I’ll let it all slide if he pays me $30 for the portfolio of about 50 gigabytes, and then moving forward, he’d pay me the $10 per hour if he wanted more content from me. He already has the six full videos in his possession. The ‘portfolio’ is stuff I’ve found that’s free-use on the internet, stuff that I’ve compiled, and even some scripts that I’ve written out! ALL MINE that I did for HIS business. So it seems logical for me to give this portfolio as an option, just incase he wants to say nah moving forward on me editing for him, and just take the material & go our separate ways…
In response, my (35 year old) brother files a complaint on PayPal claiming he only hired me for a channel encompassing trailer that I did not provide and that I’m attempting to extort him for more money. LOL, WHAT? PayPal’s like BET and automatically attempts to deduct from MY chequing account, without even getting to the bottom of it. Obviously doesn’t work, my account (not PayPal account, my fucking bank account. these mf so overzealous that they reached right into my mf pocket!!!!) gets put in the negatives and I attempt to appeal, with no sweat on my brow ‘cuz I’m like no way PayPal finna let this slide. I then proceed to message my terrible relative multiple times, with texts, videos and audio recordings and I’m in a hysterical mess. I begin threatening him, I begin begging to him, pleading with him, saying anything under the sun just for the hope that he has some heart and would send back the $200 if PayPal does end up taking it from me. Already my chequing was fricked but I could do some damage control… I was cocky, thinking PayPal would obviously side with me once they heard the whole story, so I also told him since he’s caused such pain for me out of absolutely nothing, like completely unprovoked, then shit: I want the original $200 PLUS an extra $200 for all this trauma. He responds by blocking me on everything. It’s 4 A.M. and I’m shaking as I’m typing this…
Somehow after all the information I provided, PayPal sides with him. Wow, wait, what? PayPal has since tried to deduct my PERSONAL CHEQUING ACCOUNT multiple times in order to fish back the $200 which I ALREADY HAD TO USE!!! Idk if you ever had a payment tried to be taken out of an account which already has a negative balance, but the payment doesn’t go (it does a minus then a plus) but usually the bank is like WTF and charges you fees. Multiple times = Multiple fees…
Before, I was in the negatives on my ONE chequing account I own… now I’m in the NEGATIVE-NEGATIVES… no clue how tf I’ma get out of it, but we all persevere eventually! I’ve reached out to PayPal but I’m almost sure nothing will come of it.. I’m considering taking PayPal to small claims court to somehow try to fix all this mess, but I fear it’ll break me off more trouble than repair anything. If you want to DM me, I’ll gladly give you my brother’s socials to send a report to his accounts on Instagram or TikTok, or even leave him a not-so-nice comment if you’d like. Also let me know if you know how I can get in contact with the authorities in the country of ‘Georgia.’
I have absolutely no issues posting his socials, address, doxxxing his ass to the fullest extent, all to do whatever’s necessary: because I fear he will one day gain notoriety and scam a shit ton of people. Praying that never happens.
Let me know what y’all think!!!

2024.05.21 13:41 cupidsclick Last offseason on the “Worst NBA GM Jobs Right Now” segment on the Bill Simmons pod

The premise was which GM job would you not want. This was before the draft and FA. Some highlights and how they look inhindsight:
1st Charlotte: They had a great cap sheet, Lamelo, the 2nd pick, and all their picks moving forward. I’d give this one a C
2) Bulls: nailed it.
3) Minnesota: “You’re going to be surprised who I take here… Minnesota.. Gobert is going to be making 41, 44, 47 million next three years” “KAT who I’m not a huge fan of 36, then 50, 54, 58, player option for 62 million” “You factor in those two guys + the draft picks they moved out… I don’t know if they will be able to reinvent the roster in a way that helps the roster when they have to figure out who they’re going to be.” - F in hindsight. Hilarious listening to this 12 months later but was probably somewhat justifiable at the time
4) Clippers: Great value at 4. Probably go higher in a re-draft
5) Wizards: Another great value pick. No clue how Minnesota or Charlotte go before Wiz
6) Houston: “There’s some talent on the roster but they don’t have a no doubt keeper guy on the roster” With Sengun breaking out the math has changed. Another probably justifiable at the time but looks bad in hindsight pick
7) Dallas: “If Kyrie goes to Dallas then Dallas.” They said Luka is a top 5 guy so they’re only 7th with the caveat that they trade for Kyrie- So funny discovering this podcast and listening to it a year later knowing what we know now😂
8) Brooklyn: Solid pick
Takeaway: Crazy how much can change in a year in the NBA. Philly, Memphis, NOP were all talked about as possibilities for the final two picks. While there’s teams who were considered contenders before the season started that I would take top 3 right now in a re-draft cough SUNS cough

2024.05.21 13:31 throwawaybread9654 My furniture has a bad smell

My couch and chair smell stale. I've got dogs, and the furniture is old but I cannot afford to replace it. The sofa is that gross bonded leather material that has completely disintegrated into flakes so we use a cover. Even when I put a freshly laundered cover on there, the smell comes through. The chair is fabric, but covered with a matching cover. They both just smell old and musty and stale and gross. I feel like they make my entire house smell. What's the solution? How do I fix it? I feel like I cannot use an upholstery cleaner on the sofa because of the weird flaking fake leather material, but maybe there's something I'm not thinking of. I wish I could drag them out into the sun for a week to air out (I cannot, I don't have any place to put them outside)

2024.05.21 13:30 brianiceisnice I’m so mad, heartbroken, sad… I NEED to type this somewhere. IDGAF this my main Reddit account that I do EVERYTHING on… I just need to share this somewhere or my head’ll CAVE IN.

2024.05.21 13:11 AlexTrocky Am i in trouble? Please help.

Today i got this e-mail.
Greetings!
I have to share bad news with you. Approximately a few months ago, I gained access to your devices, which you use for internet browsing. After that, I have started tracking your internet activities.
Here is the sequence of events:
Some time ago, I purchased access to email accounts from hackers (nowadays, it is quite simple to buy it online). I have easily managed to log in to your email account One week later, I have already installed the Cobalt Strike "Beacon" on the Operating Systems of all the devices you use to access your email. It was not hard at all (since you were following the links from your inbox emails). All ingenious is simple. :).
This software provides me with access to all your devices controllers (e.g., your microphone, video camera, and keyboard). I have downloaded all your information, data, photos, videos, documents, files, web browsing history to my servers. I have access to all your messengers, social networks, emails, chat history, and contacts list.
My virus continuously refreshes the signatures (it is driver-based) and hence remains invisible for antivirus software. Likewise, I guess by now you understand why I have stayed undetected until this letter.
While gathering information about you, i have discovered that you are a big fan of adult websites. You love visiting porn websites and watching exciting videos while enduring an enormous amount of pleasure. Well, i have managed to record a number of your dirty scenes and montaged a few videos, which show how you **** and reach orgasms.
If you have doubts, I can make a few clicks of my mouse, and all your videos will be shared with your friends, colleagues, and relatives. Considering the specificity of the videos you like to watch (you perfectly know what I mean), it will cause a real catastrophe for you.
I also have no issue at all with making them available for public access (leaked and exposed all data). General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR): Under the rules of the law, you face a heavy fine or arrest. I guess you don't want that to happen.
Let's settle it this way:
You transfer 2.4 Bitcoin to me and once the transfer is received, I will delete all this dirty stuff right away. After that, we will forget about each other. I also promise to deactivate and delete all the harmful software from your devices. Trust me. I keep my word.
That is a fair deal, and the price is relatively low, considering that I have been checking out your profile and traffic for some time by now. If you don't know how to purchase and transfer Bitcoin - you can use any modern search engine.
You need to send that amount here Bitcoin wallet: bc1qh5aex028jj339vdjkj5u3k37a72rkr33kqkars
(The price is not negotiable). You have 5 days in order to make the payment from the moment you opened this email.
Do not try to find and destroy my virus! (All your data is already uploaded to a remote server). Do not try to contact me. Various security services will not help you; formatting a disk or destroying a device will not help either, since your data is already on a remote server.
This is an APT Hacking Group. Don't be mad at me, everyone has their own work. I will monitor your every move until I get paid. If you keep your end of the agreement, you won't hear from me ever again.
Everything will be done fairly! One more thing. Don't get caught in similar kinds of situations anymore in the future! My advice: keep changing all your passwords frequently.

I knew it was a scam, but I wanted to make sure and check it on the Internet. so I copied the entire e-mail and pasted it into the browser, thinking that I would learn something, but only after a while I realized that this was how I could have left my data and been hacked. and now the question is whether I should go to the police or leave it because I'm exaggerating too much.

2024.05.21 13:10 wonkyOnion Smarter fridge project

Smarter fridge project
Software:
I built a website with nextjs that connects to weather API and reflects current weather conditions on the background of the app. It has sunrise/sunset animation, traveling sun and moon on the sky, clouds and rain.
The website also shows forecast for the next 3 days, it can be connected to your Google calendar to show your events.
You can set up timers or leave sticky notes.
It has links to popular retailers to do shopping using touch screen and on screen keyboard.
Unfortunately I gonna abandon the project for now as the code I written is slow and rpi4 can't handle it well. I don't have time to refactor it as the project meant to be done 'overnight'. Also we don't actually have fridge in the kitchen ATM (don't ask, I hate rented properties in my town), so it's not really convenient to use my app for anything...
Just in case anyone would want to use my repo, here are 2 major problems to solve:
  • I couldn't get refresh token from Google API, you have to log out and log in to Google API every 24h to have working calendar
  • code needs to be refactored as it's simply a mess + it's too slow for rpi4 processing power
Repo
Hardware: RPI 4 and cheapest 15" touchscreen I could find on Amazon. I used 3m tape to stick magnets to the screen, this is how the monitor stays on the fridge.

2024.05.21 13:08 That_Went_Well One Year Sober!

The past year has been one of the most rewarding and beautiful things I’ve ever done for myself. I was struggling with many things from anxiety, being tired all the time, feeling as if I was on a downward spiral with my health, and depressed.
Find the motivation to help you stay sober, use discipline to show up every day to fight the urge and raise the intensity in your life to accomplish the impossible.
Below are some of the highlights for me:

2024.05.21 13:00 ScarletMenaceOrange Kobo Libra 2 review (first e-reader)

After going totally nuts trying to decide between this and the colour version, I finally bit the bullet. I don't have other e-readers to compare to, but I did absorb huge amounts of info from Youtube videos, reviews, and comparisons.
Someone said that the BW screen is magical. I did not really believe it, but the first time I got the device, I tried to peel off the text from the device's screen, because I thought it has a sticker on it. Well, it was just text on the normal screen, it just magically looks like paper. The reason why I don't switch this to colour (even if the temptation is there) is exactly this, I don't want to give this magical paperlike screen away. It can be even read normally without any backlight, but you need some ambient lighting then, or to be at outdoors. Even then, you can get away with 4-8% backlight usage, which is very small. Biggest draw of the device for me was that it is easy for the eyes compared to LCD screens, so no way I'm ever giving that perk away. As I understand it, colour version has a dimmer screen that needs more backlight, which then makes it to be less "magically paperlike". I'm sorry, Libra colour, maybe some day when the technology has improved, or I can afford a companion device (or two 😂).
I got the Kobo plus free trial, definitely everyone should try it, as you can cancel it right after and still use the month, then continue if you feel like it. However, the plus collection is not that large, it was hard to find something that I know and enjoy from there. It was good for testing reading and manga capabilities though.
The wifi was a bit annoying, bouncing on and off. Also the normal home library view was not that good. I sorted my manga's in different folders, but the device did not seem to care about this. Also it wants you to check out the store and its over priced wares. For example, Made In Abyss one manga volume costs 10 dollars, while you can get a physical edition for of the same thing for 15 dollars. I just call it what it is, highway robbery. Luckily you can sideload the thing easily if you can get your books in other ways, so I'll be doing just that and saving a TON of money. The first day I got it, I read the whole day, and it would have costed me about 80 dollars in manga purchases alone.
So I installed Koreader, which made everything just better, if you take a bit of time to finetune it, as the default settings are not very nice. Also you need to install a dictionary, which is another ordeal to do and find one. After this, the device is just faster, it is a BIG difference while reading manga. The horribly expensive store is gone, good riddance I say! Wifi can be turned off eternally for all I care, more simplicity and no battery drain. Manga's and books can be sorted in libraries, and the device understands it! Custom screensaver is easy to get, ofc need to have that too, just for fun. Well now it starts to look like a great device, it seems that doing little bit of work really pays off. If I tried to use the device "as intended", I would have no money left, and would still be waiting for those absurdly large manga pages to turn (some which crashed the device). This is the way.
So yeah, it is a very good device. The screen autorotating feature is excellent, I find myself reading books on landscape mode, even if it is not the first instinct. Perfect use in outside sun with 0 backlight. The buttons are a must, I would not buy anything without side buttons at this point. Only wish it had a remote page turning, that would be the next step. You can mod for it, but that will be a hassle, and the current solutions are far from perfect. When people realize how comfy that would be, maybe in future the devices start to feature it. I guess it is hard to covet something that you do not know or have not experienced.
I was scared that the size is not good enough for manga, but it is. Emphasis on "good enough", it will do the job, and reading them is enjoyable, but a bigger screen would be optimal. Also when Kindle made a "manga version", it had this exact screen dimensions.
The screen, again, is immaculate in it's details. I'm enjoying too much how my wallpaper looks on it, it can be used as a tabletop photo frame, like a decoration! That will require buying a case for it, which I recommend, as when you close the case, the device goes to sleep automatically, and wakes up when you open the cover. That is very convenient, as is the ability to use the cover as a stand. I would just buy it for the screen protection alone.

THE HARMONY OF ENERGY
Abstract
Introducing the "Harmony of Energy" (HoE) model, a novel formalism that posits the universe operates according to a fundamental pattern. This pattern consists of energy, defined as the smallest unit anything can be, existing as a fluid form in space, interacting with its environment through a specific method or structure, and then moving out of that space. Space, in turn, is the dynamic environment that energy occupies and moves through, filling it with positive and negative energy that affects its properties and behavior. According to the HoE model, energy moves into space, reacts to its environment, and then moves out of that space, with no time limit for how long it takes to react. This pattern is universal, applying to all aspects of the universe, and nothing escapes it.
The Origin of the Universe
The HoE model posits that the universe began as a singular entity, containing all forms of energy as one unified energy. This singularity can be represented mathematically as: U = ∫∫∫E(x,y,z)dxdydz, where U is the total energy of the universe, E is the energy density, and x, y, z are the spatial coordinates.
As the singularity expanded, the unified energy converted into distinct positive and negative energies. Positive energy is a high-frequency, high-information-potential state that retains its unique signature and individual form, capable of producing heat and maintaining its distinct properties. Negative energy is a low-frequency, low-information-potential state that loses its unique signature and individual form, characterized by a pulling force and a tendency to condense and simplify.
Initially, the universe moved in a straight line, with energy compact and cold. However, this linear movement resulted in a direct head-on collision with the void, a solid structure that hindered its passage.
This collision led to a limitation and subsequent conversion of energy, transforming it from a linear motion to a wave-like motion. The new wave motion created heat and allowed energy to break the pattern of "follow the leader" and collide with the void at an angle, shattering its edge into pieces.
This process of fragmentation can be described by the equation: F(θ) = Σ[nEn * sin(nθ)], where F is the fragmentation function, θ is the angle of collision, n is an integer, and E is the energy density. For reasons yet unknown, possibly due to the singularity's energy reaching its final place or a transformation driven by cosmic "boredom," this conversion occurred, giving rise to the diverse universe we observe today.
The Void and the Ultimate Negative
Outside of the expanding universe lies the void, a region devoid of energy and matter, existing in a state of complete stillness and stationarity. This void represents the ultimate negative, a state of complete absence and zero energy density, unchanging and unyielding. As a whole, it exerts a compressive force on the expanding universe, potentially leading to contraction and eventual return to the singularity. This dynamic interplay between the universe and the void can be described by the equation: F = -G * (M * m) / r2 where F represents the force, G represents the gravitational constant, M and m represent the masses, and r represents the distance between them. The void's stationary and unchanging nature, lacking any internal rotation or energy, makes it inhospitable to life as we know it.
Magnetism and Attraction: A Shift in Perspective
Initially, I viewed magnetism through the conventional lens, seeing it as a fundamental force of attraction between positive and negative entities. However, as my understanding evolved, I came to realize that magnetism operates under a different principle. Positive and negative entities are not attracted to each other; instead, they represent the intrinsic structure of things. The true nature of attraction is frequency-based, with entities drawn to higher vibrations and shorter wavelengths. This phenomenon can be described by the following equations:
F = ∫∫(μ₁⋅μ₂)/(4πr2) dt dt (1)
where F is the force of attraction, μ₁ and μ₂ are the magnetic moments of the entities, r is the distance between them, and the integral is taken over time.
Additionally, the frequency-based attraction can be represented by:
f = γB (2)
where f is the frequency, γ is the gyromagnetic ratio, and B is the magnetic field strength.
Furthermore, the smaller wave's faster movement can be expressed as:
v = λf (3)
where v is the velocity, λ is the wavelength, and f is the frequency.
Energy and its Properties
Energy is the fundamental unit of everything. Energy can be thought of as an individual entity with an electrical signature vibrating at a specific frequency, carrying information from its originating source. If we were to dissect a piece of energy, we would find its genetic makeup consists of various parts, similar to binary code. One constant aspect of energy in our universe is the signature of this universe, which is present in all forms of energy, whether positive or negative. This underlying frequency distinguishes energy from our universe versus parallel universes.
Positive Energy (PE): - Oscillates through space with a frequency (f) and wavelength (λ): PE = f × λ - Exhibits wave-like behavior: PE(x,t) = A × sin(kx - ωt)
Negative Energy (NE): - Vibrates at a slower frequency (f'/2): NE = (f'/2) × λ' - Exhibits a slower, more stable behavior: NE(x,t) = B × cos(k'x - ω't)
Energy Interactions and Signature Changes
When positive and negative energies interact, their unique signatures can become altered. As energies combine, their signatures merge, releasing redundant information about the universe signature and creating an opening for new information to be stored. This process enables efficient storage and transmission of energy signatures, allowing for:
This process could be crucial for understanding how energy signatures evolve and adapt, and how they influence the behavior and properties of energy in various contexts.
The Formation and Evolution of the Universe
Initial Energy Interactions
In the beginning, a vast amount of fluid energy quickly interacted with the largest newly created pieces of the void, described by the wave-particle duality equation (E = hf = ℏω).
Star Formation and Signatures
As these interactions occurred, the largest of the solid structures of the universe began to form, stars, governed by the Lane-Emden equation (d2P/dr2 + (2/r)(dP/dr) + (4πG/c2)P = 0). Each new star held with it an old habit divulged from the singularity, a universal frequency (f = 1/T = ω/2π, where T is the period of oscillation and ω is the angular frequency). Old habits die hard, so each new star offered its own diverse and unique signature (S = Σf = ∫ψ(x)2 dx, where ψ(x) is the wave function and x represents the position).
Energy Collisions and Prime Numbers
As structures formed, a group of energy travels through space with an even number of internal parts (E = 2nℏ, where n is an integer and ℏ is the reduced Planck constant). This group collides with another group of energy with an odd amount of internal parts (E = (2n + 1)ℏ), and the total sum of the newly combined group equals a prime number (P = E1 + E2 = 2nℏ + (2m + 1)ℏ, where m is an integer). New Equation: Prime Number Formation (P = E1 + E2 = 2nℏ + (2m + 1)ℏ)
Schrödinger Equation and Physical Reality
The prime number is crucial, as the extra piece gets stuck in the space it is occupying, acting as an anchor, attracting other parts to breach their negative shell and combine as one, described by the Schrödinger equation (iℏ(∂ψ/∂t) = Hψ). This converts the fluid energy to be contained into the space it is in, which is broken pieces of the void that do not have a universal size, and gives us physical reality, forming particles with diverse unique signatures (S = Σf = ∫ψ(x)2 dx).
Refining Space and Transferring Signatures
As energy continued to interact with space, it further refined and shaped that space into a sphere (V = (4/3)πr3, where r is the radius), adding the discarded portions of size to the diverse field that is the universe. During this refinement, energy was transferred to these pieces, and the signature of the star was embedded in them, forming the galaxy clusters and solar systems we know today.
Smooth Surfaces and Celestial Bodies
As any piece of something breaks, its edges are rigid, and the interaction of energy against this rigid surface knocks off the rough edges, providing a smooth surface (E = Δx/Δt = ℏ/Δx, where Δx is the change in position and Δt is the change in time). New Equation: Smooth Surface Formation (E = Δx/Δt = ℏ/Δx)
The pieces that were knocked off still contain a portion of energy that put in the work to knock it off, and this process contributed to the formation of celestial bodies and the transfer of signatures. This, in turn, led to the creation of galaxies, planets, and other celestial bodies, each with their unique characteristics and properties, shaping the diverse and complex universe we observe today.
The Cartwheel Structure and Energy Movement
The cartwheel structure represents the dynamic movement of energy in the universe, with its rotating wheel and radiating arms symbolizing the harmonious interaction of positive and negative energies. When creation occurred, energy learned how to pass through stationary space (the void) by changing its movement pattern from a straight line to a wave (λ = v/f, where λ is wavelength, v is velocity, and f is frequency). This new wave movement allowed energy to create heat (Q = mcΔT, where Q is heat, m is mass, c is specific heat capacity, and ΔT is temperature change), which was the tool that gave energy the ability to "shatter" the void and interact with the broken pieces to perform a new movement, the cartwheel. As energy moves through space, it rarefies and decreases in temperature (T = k-B, where T is temperature, k is Boltzmann's constant, and B is the energy density), causing it to slow down and change frequency (f = ΔE/h, where f is frequency, ΔE is the energy change, and h is Planck's constant).
The Block and Cartwheeling Bar Analogy
The block and cartwheeling bar analogy provides a conceptual framework for understanding the dynamic interaction of energy in the universe. Imagine a box (representing space) containing blocks of varying sizes, each symbolizing a specific energy frequency (f = 1/T, where f is frequency and T is time). The cartwheeling bar, rotating within the box, represents the harmonious movement of energy between its positive (E+) and negative (E-) forms. Each block must be 100% filled, with positive and negative energy proportions varying as the bar rotates. For example, when positive energy occupies 99% of a block and negative energy occupies 1%, the rotation of the bar causes a gradual shift, resulting in a change to 98% positive and 2% negative, and so on. This constant interaction and adjustment maintain the balance of energy in the universe.
Fundamental Forces Explained
Present State of the Universe
The universe currently exists in a state of dynamic equilibrium, with observable patterns and structures perpetually renewing themselves through the interactions of energy (E = hf, where E is energy and h is Planck's constant). This self-sustaining cycle is evident in the formation and evolution of celestial bodies, galaxies, and other cosmic entities, governed by the laws of thermodynamics (ΔE = Q - W, where ΔE is the change in energy, Q is the heat added, and W is the work done). The universe's present state is characterized by the harmonious coexistence of diverse energy frequencies (f = 1/T, where f is frequency and T is time), which govern the behavior and properties of matter at various scales. This balance is maintained through the continuous conversion of energy between its positive (E+) and negative (E-) forms, allowing the universe to adapt and evolve in response to internal and external influences (E+ + E- = 0, representing the conservation of energy)."
Entropy and the Conversion of Positive to Negative
The physical dimensions of positive and negative energy in a block are equal, with 1% negative energy occupying the same space as 99% positive energy. This equality stems from the different speeds of energy and their individual properties. When negative energy is at 1%, it has condensed the equivalent of 99% positive energy into a single, compact form (E = hf, where E is energy, h is Planck's constant, and f is frequency). As the proportions shift, such as 60% positive and 40% negative, the space occupied remains a 50/50 split. This is because positive energy travels at the speed of light (c = λν, where c is the speed of light, λ is wavelength, and ν is frequency), while negative energy moves at a pace relative to terminal velocity (v = √(2gl), where v is velocity, g is acceleration due to gravity, and l is length). Each form dominates at the 50% mark (T = λ/v, where T is time, λ is wavelength, and v is velocity). The percentages represent available positive energy, while the cartwheel symbolizes space or the ultimate negative in motion, influenced by energy's presence. Negative energy, with its depleted charge, occupies space that needs to be filled and recycled into a positive state. At higher percentages, collisions with negative energy slow down the flow, similar to the concept of crab mentality, where negative energy draws down the percentages.
Energy Dynamics and Galactic Harmony
The 50% Threshold
The 50% mark is a critical threshold that distinguishes between positive and negative energy. Above 50%, energy is considered positive and can produce heat beyond its negative shell. Below 50%, energy is considered negative and cannot produce heat past this shell.
Compressed Positive Energy
When the percentage of positive energy drops below 50%, it becomes compressed and can exceed the speed of light (c = λν, where c is the speed of light, λ is wavelength, and ν is frequency). This allows it to navigate through the "cracks" of negative energy:
v > c (where v is velocity and c is the speed of light)
Quantum Mirroring
Alternatively, the positive energy can align with the negative energy, resulting in a quantum mirroring effect. This enables instantaneous information transfer between entangled particles, regardless of distance:
E = hf (where E is energy, h is Planck's constant, and f is frequency)
Retaining Frequency Signatures
In this alignment, the negative energy retains its unique frequency signature to avoid interacting with other signatures:
Δx * Δp >= h/4π (where Δx is position uncertainty, Δp is momentum uncertainty, and h is Planck's constant)
The Cavendish Experiment and Energy Interaction
The Cavendish experiment, a groundbreaking study on gravity, offers an intriguing analogy for understanding energy interaction with space. Imagine the suspended spheres as representative of space itself, devoid of energy. When energy interacts with this motionless space, it's as if the spheres begin to rotate, symbolizing the introduction of energy into the internal area of space.
As energy engages with space, it's gradually consumed, much like the reduction of energy in the Cavendish experiment. This process can be described by the equation:
G = (2πLθ) / (MT)
Where G is the gravitational constant, L is the length of the torsion wire, θ is the twist angle of the wire, M is the mass of the lead spheres, and T is the time period of oscillation.
This equation, derived from the Cavendish experiment, reveals the intricate relationship between energy, space, and gravity. By exploring this analogy, we can deepen our understanding of how energy shapes the very fabric of our universe.
Energy Absorption and Frequency
Energy absorption occurs when energy slows down, allowing it to be perceived and observed. This process involves energy being absorbed by an atom and reflecting what was not absorbed. As energy slows down, it can still be observed as a wave, but just before it becomes a particle. This phenomenon is fascinating, as it reveals the transition from wave-like to particle-like behavior.
The conversion of positive to negative states is due to positives' ability to produce heat and maintain an individual form. Negative energy, on the other hand, does not produce heat and lacks an individual form, instead traveling at a pace relative to terminal velocity. This process can be described by the quantum mechanical formula: ℏω = ΔE = hf, where ℏ is the reduced Planck constant, ω is the angular frequency, ΔE is the change in energy, h is Planck's constant, and f is the frequency of the energy.
Furthermore, the frequency of the energy can be related to the velocity of the particle using the formula: f = (1/2π) * √(k/m), where k is the spring constant and m is the mass of the particle. Additionally, the energy absorption rate can be calculated using the formula: dE/dt = (2π/h) * V_uv2 * δ(E_u - E_v), where V_uv is the transition matrix element, E_u and E_v are the energies of the initial and final states, and δ is the Dirac delta function.
The Conversion of Positive to Negative States and Planetary Motion
The conversion of positive to negative energy states is rooted in their distinct properties. Positive energy produces heat and maintains an individual form, whereas negative energy lacks heat and an individual form, instead traveling at a pace relative to terminal velocity. This process is reversible, as seen in fusion reactions, or can be influenced by external forces like microwave ovens.
In the context of our solar system, the sun's positive energy release generates heat and propels planets into their orbital tracks. Conversely, the incoming energy from the universe, considered negative, is cold and stabilizes planets in their tracks. Initially, I focused solely on the positive push dictating orbital paths. However, I now recognize the significant influence of negative energy and use it as the basis for understanding abnormal tracks.
Here's an added equation to illustrate the relationship between energy and orbital motion:
F = G * (m1 * m2) / r2
Where F is the force of gravity, G is the gravitational constant, m1 and m2 are the masses of the objects, and r is the distance between them.
This equation shows how the force of gravity (F) is influenced by the masses (m1 and m2) and distance (r) between objects, which is relevant to understanding planetary motion and the balance between positive and negative energy.
Gravitation and Time: Frequency's Role
Time is intimately tied to the frequency of the universe, and this relationship is governed by the laws of gravitation. Imagine the cartwheel's bar having notches, each representing a different frequency. Each notch would experience time at a unique pace, described by the formula:
t = 1/f
Where t is time and f is frequency.
If we could halt the cartwheel's motion, time would appear to pause, as described by the relativistic time dilation formula:
t' = γ(t)
Where t' is the time experienced by an observer in motion, t is the time experienced by an observer at rest, and γ is the Lorentz factor.
The passage of time is directly governed by the oscillations in the wave, or simply its frequency. By altering the frequency, we can change the flow of time itself, as described by the gravitational redshift formula:
f' = f * √(1 - 2GM/rc2)
Where f' is the observed frequency, f is the emitted frequency, G is the gravitational constant, M is the mass of the gravitational source, r is the radial distance from the source, and c is the speed of light.
Gravity and Energy Dynamics
Gravity can be understood in various ways through these thoughts. One perspective is that gravity operates similarly to the orbital planets, but with a twist. Instead of orbiting in space, we orbit at a subterranean frequency. This frequency attracts similar energies, leading to bonding and the formation of matter. For instance, atoms bond to form rocks, and separate rocks may bind together due to similar vibrations. However, other frequencies simply pass through, unable to bind due to differences in energy vibrations and the negative fields surrounding our bodies and the ground.
Our bodies are attracted to the Earth's core, with a force described by the equation:
F = G * (m1 * m2) / r2
Where F is the force of attraction, G is the gravitational constant, m1 and m2 are the masses of our bodies and the Earth, and r is the distance between them.
The vibrations of our energy and the negative field surrounding us can be described by the wave equation:
2E = μ * ∂2E/∂t2
Where E is the energy field, μ is the permeability of the medium, and ∂2E/∂t2 is the second derivative of the energy with respect to time.
The incoming cosmic energy pushes us downward, with a force described by the equation:
F = (E * A) / c
Where F is the force of the incoming energy, E is the energy density of the cosmos, A is the cross-sectional area of our bodies, and c is the speed of light.
The outgoing energy from Earth moves faster than the incoming energy from the cosmos, as observed in the formation of clouds with flat bases and more sporadic tops. This can be described by the equation:
v_out = v_in * (1 + (E_out / E_in))
Where v_out is the velocity of the outgoing energy, v_in is the velocity of the incoming energy, E_out is the energy density of the outgoing energy, and E_in is the energy density of the incoming energy.
Galactic Cycles and Black Holes
The Milky Way galaxy has a supermassive black hole at its center, with a mass described by the equation:
M = (1.989 x 1030) * (G / c2)
Where M is the mass of the black hole, G is the gravitational constant, and c is the speed of light.
As the galaxy spirals towards the center, enough mass will be collected to trigger the black hole to become a large star, described by the equation:
M = (4.383 x 1030) * (G / c2)
Where M is the mass of the star, G is the gravitational constant, and c is the speed of light.
When this happens, the black hole will shed its outer shell to create the galaxy that spirals around it, and the process begins again. This cycle can be described by the equation:
t = (2 * π * G * M) / c3
Where t is the time period of the cycle, G is the gravitational constant, M is the mass of the black hole or star, and c is the speed of light.
The opposite of a black hole is a white hole, but why hasn't this phenomenon been observed? According to this article, it has been observed but misunderstood. With the theme of balancing the universe, would a large star be surrounded by much smaller black holes? Would these smaller black holes feed the larger star by way of quantum bridge or wormhole, and vice versa for smaller stars and larger black holes? This can be described by the equation:
E = (ℏ * ω) / 2
Where E is the energy transferred between the star and black holes, ℏ is the reduced Planck constant, and ω is the frequency of the quantum bridge or wormhole.
Energy Flow and Balance
Energy moves in and out of everything, maintaining a delicate balance. It enters as a positive force and exits as a negative force. Our sun emits energy at 99% strength and high frequency, which combines with an equally sized negative force at 1% strength, filling the space completely. This balance is crucial, as positive energy moves faster than negative energy due to entropy's diminishing effects over time and distance.
As positive energy travels, it loses a piece of itself, converting to negative energy. This process is directly related to gravitational forces and time dilation. When positive energy reaches 50%, it has a certain probability of converting to negative energy, which is then attracted back to a positive source with a corresponding probability of being converted back to positive energy.
This cycle of energy flow and balance is the foundation of the universe's harmony, and understanding it can reveal the intricate web of forces that shape our reality.
Information Transmission through Energy and Light
Energy transfer is not just a physical phenomenon but also an exchange of information. Positive energy (Pos) carries a complete signature of universal information, updated through interactions, and represents the pure form. Negative energy (Neg) represents a degraded form of this signature, still carrying the universal signature, but lacking the capacity to transfer information.
Initial Information and Illumination
Initial information travels at a speed potentially faster than light and is invisible to us. As this energy slows down, it interacts with atoms, exciting them to display colors they don't need. This illumination is a manifestation of the information being transmitted.
I = E × S (Initial information is transmitted through energy and carries the universal signature)
Cosmic Scale and Consciousness
The universal information, carried by positive energy, is infused with the celestial signature, shaping the cosmic context. This process potentially gives rise to consciousness in living beings, linking them to the universe and its harmonies.
C ∝ U (Consciousness potentially arises from the universal information carried by positive energy)
U = S × f × P (The universal information is infused with the celestial signature, shaping the cosmic context)
Information Transfer and Energy Forms
The universe relies on a delicate balance of energy forms to facilitate information transfer. Positive energy (Pos) serves as the primary carrier of information, transmitting universal signatures and cosmic context. Negative energy (Neg), on the other hand, carries a degraded or attenuated version of the universal signature, lacking the capacity for information transfer. However, Neg can be transformed back into Pos, restoring its information-carrying ability.
P = S × f (Positive energy carries the complete universal signature at a high frequency f)
N = S × (1 - f) (Negative energy carries a degraded or attenuated version of the universal signature at a lower frequency)
E = P + N (The universe relies on a delicate balance of positive and negative energy forms to facilitate information transfer)
Frequency and Speed of Information Transfer
The frequency and speed of information transfer play a crucial role in the harmony and balance of the universe. Positive energy (Pos) transmits information at a high frequency and speed, allowing for efficient and accurate transfer of universal signatures and cosmic context. Negative energy (Neg), on the other hand, transmits information at a lower frequency and speed, resulting in a degraded or attenuated signal.
v ∝ f (The speed of information transfer is directly proportional to the frequency of the energy form)
P: v = c × f (Positive energy transmits information at a high frequency and speed, potentially approaching the speed of light c)
N: v = c × (1 - f) (Negative energy transmits information at a lower frequency and speed)
Transformation and Balance
Negative energy can be transformed back into positive energy, restoring its information-carrying ability.
N + T → P (Negative energy can be transformed back into positive energy, restoring its information-carrying ability)
This transformation maintains the harmony and balance of the universe, ensuring that information is not lost but rather recycled and rebalanced.
_Conclusion _
"In conclusion, the Harmony of Energy (HoE) model offers a novel perspective on the universe, revealing a intricate web of energy dynamics that underlie all aspects of existence. By exploring the interplay between positive and negative energy, we gain insight into the fundamental forces that shape our reality. From the smallest subatomic particles to the vast expanse of the cosmos, energy is the unifying thread that binds everything together.
Through the HoE model, we've seen how energy's harmonious movement gives rise to the patterns and structures we observe in the universe. We've also delved into the fascinating relationships between energy, space, and time, and how these interactions govern the behavior of matter at various scales.
As we continue to refine our understanding of the HoE model, we may uncover new secrets of the universe and gain a deeper appreciation for the beauty and harmony that underlies all of existence. Ultimately, this knowledge can inspire new perspectives, new technologies, and a new era of human understanding and cooperation, as we work together to harmonize our own energy with the energy of the universe."

2024.05.21 12:54 Swiss_alps234 4 days in malaysian borneo watching wildlife

4 days in malaysian borneo watching wildlife
Hi everyone!
Earlier this month i had a chance to visit Deramakot Forest Reserve, part of Borneo in Sabah, Malaysia. I had an amazing experience and wanted to share my experience for those wildlife enthusiasts around here. I spent also two days in Kinatabangan River, a spot many of you have probably visited that is good to spot pigmy elephants, proboscis monkeys and orangutans too.
Most people who visit Borneo visit one of the National parks in Indonesia or a quick visit to Danum Valley and Kinabatangan River. The main reason for me to pick Deramakot FR was the focus in wildlife sighting, it is the best place in the world to see clouded leopards and other wild cats and many species that only exist in that part of the world can be seen regularly. When researching, i found out that Danum Valley is great for starters, you can learn about trees and insects, do some walks and in the car, probably see a couple of civets and orangutans, but the way it is organized to be explored does not enhance your probability to see different species, it just gives you a taste of the greatness of Borneo that won’t satisfy those who want to maximize wildlife viewing. Deramakot is the place to be for variety.
We spent 4D/3N with Adventure Alternative Borneo, when we arrived we met our guide Mike, he said himself he wasn’t great with briefings or explanations so he just wanted to know our questions and target animals. I said we wanted to see orangutans and then mainly nocturnal animals, i mentioned wild cats, civets, binturong, slow loris, tarsier, etc… he said tarsier is difficult but all the other was easy, maybe not a clouded leopard but we saw 4 leopard cats, for example.
The wildlife viewing takes place on top of the back of a pick up truck where the guide with a driver runs back and forth in the 32 km main road 2 of the Forest Reserve. You have 7 hours a day that you distribute like you want depending on target species. It takes 3 hours each way to the end of the road depending how many hours you assign, we started at 15:00 and finished at 23:00 with one hour for dinner and rest at the spot at the edge of the park at the end of the 32 km.
The first day you only do 3 hours at night, in those 3 hours, we quickly came accross an otter in a body of water near the road, two types of owls, civets, - pigmy elephant, multiple leopard cats… a sunda skunk would come slowly walking by our car and we would get down and walk next to it to take the best photos and experience being close to it. A Thomas’ flying squirrel would glide between trees just on top of us, a sambar deer would run and hide past us in the shadows.
We counted 30 different species, most of them mammals over the 3 days of wildlife viewing, we didn’t see a sun bear or clouded leopard (two of my dreams), but we saw a banteng. You might know that there are bantengs in several parts of indonesia, but the malaysian subspecies has less than 324 members left to be extinct, and we crossed paths with one young one that stayed for a couple of minutes in front of the car, the guide said he has seen only 2 before and very briefly running away in all the years he had been guiding in the park, he mentioned that a banteng is much more rare than seeing a pangolin and a clouded leopards and that specimen probably had never seen a car before in its life.
Despite our impressive first night, in the other two days we had long parts of times where we wouldnt have sightings, in hindsight, we shouldnt have done 15:00-18:00 at all and just start at night since we had seen orangutan already in Kinabatangan, but once the night came down, you could be 1 hour without sightings and suddenly see slow loris, a leopard cat, a rat snake, a banded civet shyly walking past our car and a binturong within 30 minutes. The park had that magic that can make you go to bed with a smile after having two hours of nothing with the best 10 minutes of sightings at the end. You could see the guide get as excited or more than you with every sighting and say: hell yeah, when he got one of those species you mentioned you wanted to see. We spent 30 mins watching a binturong eating fruits from a fig tree or 10 mins watching a striped palm civet smile to the camera with its mouth full of fruits, or a slow loris walking down a tree to escape the light literally in slow motion.
I have been before in the Amazon rainforest in Peru, Galapagos Islands, several parts of Australia, Polynesia, two safaris in Kenya and South Africa and this experience let me wanting to come back as soon as possible and with the feeling of seeing animals i could only see in books and documentaries. I feel like i found a “secret” to keep coming back, but at the same time there is a reality many of you know from Malaysian Borneo. 60% of the territory is covered by palm oil plantations, from the moment you land in the airport to the almost 4 hours until the entrance of the park, all you see is km and km of palm trees and palm trees, you ask the locals and they say it brings a lot of money and the government wants to continue expanding, and even with that, Sabah is the poorest region of Malaysia.
Regarding the price, it is not cheap, specially considering that you can have lunch in a restaurant in telupid town for 11 myr and we paid a bit over 4000 myr for this per person including transport from and to airport, but the truth is, the reason for the reserve to have this price is that the reserve needs to prove the government that they can generate enough money from wildlife tourism to make it equally or more profitable than just turning the whole reserve into a big palm oil plantation, and seeing how amazing the wildlife is, it is extremely sad to see all those kilometer and kilometer of palm oil plantations and think how amazing all that was 100 years ago.
The accomodation is basic but safe and clean, with hot water , i would say much better than most of the homestays i stayed in Indonesia in the same trip, our guide Mike was the best wildlife spotter i ever saw in my travels, although the experience would be different with another guide, of course.
I would recommend visiting this reserve to anybody who really loves wildlife variety and would be happy to spend 7 hours a day driving around in exchange of seeing some animals that only exist in this part of the world. There was another couple happily doing early morning drives to see the gibbons and orangutan waking up and the birds followed with night drives that were having an amazing time too. If you just want a taste of the jungle you can probably stay some days in the more luxurious rainforest lodge in Danum Valley and just get a taste and fewer sightings . For me, Deramakot was even better than what i expected as a wildlife enthusiast and would love it to continue being that way and not turned into palm oil plantations down the line, hence why i wanted to share my experience.

2024.05.21 12:53 yvesil Moving from guitar to piano because of pain, any advice?

So I love the guitar, love playing it, especially love the sound of it. Only problem is that despite doing what I thought to be correct form (honestly I probably applied too much pressure because it’s acoustic with not too low action), I’m experiencing enough pain for me to have to let go of the instrument.
I’ve been playing piano on and off for the majority of my life. I know my scales and chords, some jazz chords, and that’s it.
This may be a stupid question because keyboards have the option to sound like pretty much anything, but how were you able to make the sound of the piano work for you? I’m a songwriter and I’ve exclusively used guitar in my music so switching it up feel daunting.

2024.05.21 12:40 Gangiskhan Artist #100 Pretty Lights

Bio from The Festival Voice
Artist Biography by Daniel Karasek
Pretty Lights is a music project out of Colorado started by Derek Vincent Smith. He started making hip-hop in high school and dropped out of college during his freshman year at the University of Colorado at Boulder to pursue a career in producing music. Derek released his debut album in 2006 titled Taking Up Your Precious Time under the moniker Pretty Lights. He toured on this album supporting STS9, the Disco Biscuits, and Widespread Panic. By 2010, Derek had released two more albums and had toured major festivals including Coachella, Ultra, Movement, and Electric Zoo. The next year he created his Pretty Lights Music imprint to release albums by Michal Menert, Gramatik, and Eliot Lipp. In 2012, Derek started working on Pretty Lights’ fourth album, which featured drummer Adam Deitch, Soulive’s Eric Krasno, the Harlem Gospel Choir, and members of the Preservation Hall Jazz Band and the Treme Brass Band. The idea behind the album was to capture a vintage sound while making it sound like what Pretty Lights had been known to produce. The resulting album, A Color Map of the Sun, was nominated at the 2013 Grammy Awards. The Hidden Shades EP came the following year featuring remixes and B-side tracks. Later in 2014, Derek moved to New Orleans to form a band he called Pretty Lights Live. This lineup toured for a few years with some Red Rocks shows included on the tour. Then, Derek fell off the map and became a whisper in the music community. He had to get himself sorted out with rumors of substance abuse being what stole him from the world and his fans. Then, after five years and a global pandemic, Derek rose from the ashes with Pretty Lights Live, featuring Alvin Ford Jr. on drums, Borahm Lee on keys, Michal Menert on guitar, and turntablist Chris Karns. The band toured in 2023 to sold-out venues across the country. Their live show now features drones, Lidar-crafted visuals, and free live streams that are available on YouTube.
To give a very simplified overview of how their set works, Derek acts as a conductor of sorts for all the other band members. Each member plays their instruments as a jam band and feeds in their audio to Derek. Derek then live mixes these sounds with a custom modular synthesizer to create what comes out of the PA systems at a show. Additionally, Derek will incorporate his own noise into the mix as well. While all this is going on, there are Lidar sensors onstage that are taking live 3-D mappings of the stage and sometimes the crowd and venue. On the screens behind the band, they project these mappings for visuals during the show. Oh, and they have a ton of lasers that light up the sky. And if that wasn’t enough, the rumor for Bonnaroo is that there will be a drone show above Pretty Lights on Thursday. I’ve seen what drones can do while I was at the Texas Eclipse Fest this year. It will be the best show of their 2024 tour.

2024.05.21 12:31 prisoncitybear Sunrise/Sunset

Living in the middle of #puremichigan affords us the opportunity to journey to several of the Great Lakes, some on the west side, some on the east side of the state. The hubby's family lives on the west side of the state, so we're often making the two hour trek there to visit and to get our feet wet. I used to joke that I preferred the west coast for the amazing sunsets over Lake Michigan. Of course, this was often fueled by a day spent drinking in the sun on the beach, and then continuing the drinking as the sun went down. We were with our buddies who have a cabin in Canada on Lake Huron and I said (most likely drunk) that “no one gets up to drink and watch the sun come up” and pointed to the sunset happening at Oval Beach in Saugatuck, MI (Google it, it's amazing!).
My how times have changed. I do actually get up to watch the sun come up now, and instead of drinking wine/beer, I’m drinking coffee or tea and enjoying the quiet time to think/meditate or just relax before the day starts. We recently added a sunroom/three seasons room off the back of our house, and it faces east and affords a great view of the sun coming up each morning. I may not be on a beach, but I can sit by my pool and pretend.
Being off booze is a game-changer for sure, on many levels. Our perception of what is important and what is valuable changes over time and we begin to see the world with clearer, sober eyes. That’s a gift that never gets old.

2024.05.21 12:31 CaradogRhys 2023-2024 Season Review

Now that the sun has set on another season it’s time to reflect on our performance throughout and look forward to how next season could go.
TLDR; Much improved season but game management has cost us throughout. Continued strong recruitment for next season especially at Manager position.
Let’s begin with the raw stats.
We finished 10th for the second successive season but amassed our highest points total of 18 in the WSL alongside our best goal scoring season with 26 goals for and our best defensive season conceding 45 goals against. An improvement of 11 more goals scored and 3 fewer goals conceded than last season.
We finished third in our Continental Cup group losing only one game to Manchester United which ultimately cost us progression to the knockouts.
Furthermore, we reached the FA Cup semi final for the first time in our history, dominating lower league teams along the way.
Our top 5 goal scorers (in all competitions):
Rantala - 10
Cayman - 7
Petermann - 6
Tierney - 4
O’Brien/Whelan/Rose - 3
Top 5 assist providers (in all competitions):
Rantala - 7
Momiki - 5
Petermann - 4
Tierney - 4
Takarada - 3
End of season awards winners:
Player of the Season - Rantala
Players player - Rantala
Goal of the Season - Goodwin vs Liverpool
Academy Player of the Season - Kiera Bell
Congratulations to all. Now on to the review proper.
We start with the positives. Recruitment has been great this year. The additions of Petermann, Rantala and Cayman have increased our goal scoring output and the acquisitions of Lietzig, Kop, Thibaud, Rose, Momiki and Takarada has added greater depth and quality to our squad and made us a more competitive team throughout the season.
We very rarely sat in against teams, aimed to play out from the back and press opposition back lines which served us well and earned plaudits from around the league especially early on in the campaign.
Additionally we have a very solid tandem of goalkeepers in Leitzig and Kop that have shown they can be rotated in for each other and not effect the confidence of the team in front of them which is a great bonus.
Finally, we continue to see success in our youth academy with them winning the double of the PGA Plate and County Cup as well as academy players continuing to get minutes in the senior team.
Now, unfortunately, the negatives.
Elephant in the room is the managerial situation. After Kirk’s dismissal for unprofessional conduct and Foster stepping down as interim manager with the conclusion of the season we are now searching for our fourth manager in three seasons in the WSL.
Something is very clearly not right behind the scenes when our last 2 male managers have crossed professional boundaries with players and our last permanent female manager was unceremoniously dismissed hours after a giving a pre match press conference. Questions have to be asked about how our next manager is going to be recruited, monitored and assessed by the higher ups. This inconsistency has been reflected in our on pitch performances and the players must be commended for how they have handled the off pitch turmoil.
To be optimistic, whomever the next manager shall be they need to keep pushing the progressive, attacking football we have developed under Kirk whilst making us a less porous side defensively and able to manage games better and see them out especially when we have the lead.
Which very neatly leads me to our biggest downside this campaign, our game management.
All of our 4 league victories this season came against two teams (Bristol City and Everton) half of those came in the opening two games of the season (where we were briefly top of the league 🙌🏻) and the other 2 came in three games at the end of January/beginning of February. That is a long time to go without success without it effecting not only our league standing but the morale of the team.
It has been a reverse of our previous seasons where instead of seeing us floundering at the bottom to pop up at the end of the season we have watched us have an electric start only to slowly but surely watch our league position erode away.
The story of our season was giving up leads and losing points from winning positions happening 7 times in the league. The most defining examples is being 2-0 up at halftime at home to Arsenal, being the better side only to be decimated in the second half and lose 6-2. Drawing 1-1 in stoppage time to a 10 player West Ham and both games against Brighton. First surrendering a two goal advantage in the final 10 minutes of the away fixture to draw the game and then taking the lead at home to only go 2-1 down, fight back to level the tie but lose to another goal conceded in the last 5 minutes.
Of those 7 leads and potential 21 points lost, if we win against West Ham and Brighton, that’s 9 points in our favour and we would be celebrating a much stronger finish to our season.
With regards to looking forward to next season I do feel we have very strong foundations to build upon and become even more competitive not only in the league but have strong cup runs as proven by our results in a tough Conti Cup group and our semi final appearance in the FA Cup.
As for personnel we have a squad full of internationals with at least half a season of chemistry with each other, excellent training facilities and the privilege of playing at the King Power for home league games.
Obviously we need a quality manager to lead us. I would have jumped at the chance to take on Carla Ward but she is taking time out to spend time with her family. Aside from her I am not so well versed in the women’s managerial landscape to make an educated suggestion. Maybe Melissa Phillips, formerly of Brighton who seemed to have good respect from her players and a decent track record with London City Lionesses and Brighton.
For players I would like to see another striker brought in. When Petermann isn’t available we lack a focal point up top and Siemsen hasn’t been relied upon much when fit.
Cover at full back would be a priority as well. Bott is outstanding and we can always rely on the experience of Cayman but depth is definitely an issue. Ale did a decent job towards the tail end of the season but is only on loan and Nevin has seemingly dropped down the pecking order.
Further depth in the middle with the departure of Whelan and a younger, more modern centre half (think Plumptre) to complement the guile and physicality that we have in place.
A third experienced keeper wouldn’t go amiss to cover for injury to Kop or Leitzig.
I’m genuinely excited to see how he play with a fully fit complement of wingers next year as that is where we are stacked with promise: Rantala, Rose, Cain, Goodwin, O’Brien and Momiki (on occasion) offer a truly dangerous outlet for us and pose any defender a headache.
One final note. Thank you to Whelan for her services as our club Captain for the last two seasons. She has lead by example, never kicked up a fuss not being a starter this season and always given 100% on the pitch. May she enjoy her retirement from football.
Feel free to add your own thoughts and opinions and we look forward to improving further in the off season.

🔗Indigo Dog House with Microban - Enhanced Pet Comfort by Coleman

https://preview.redd.it/p2mm4oyr8r1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=796d3d7fcc5abfdca3bc92cdbd59cfa5bd449f80
The Petmate Indigo Dog House has been my faithful companion, keeping my furry friend comfortable and cozy in all weather conditions. The offset extended doorway ensures that wind and rain are kept at bay, allowing my pet to enjoy the comfort of their personal space without getting damp or chilled.
The structural foam provides excellent insulation, keeping my pet cool during summer days and warm during the colder months. The roof vent helps maintain proper airflow, allowing for a pleasant environment inside the dog house. The use of Microban is an added bonus, as it actively works against the growth of bacteria, mold, and mildew, ensuring a fresh and clean living area for my pet.
Installation was a breeze, with no tools required, and the dog house is specifically designed for medium-sized pets. Although the dimensions are perfect for my pet, I found it interesting that larger dogs can be accommodated in the larger versions of the dog house. My pet loved his new home and took to it immediately, feeling secure and protected from the elements.
However, there have been some minor issues with rain leakage. Although the design of the dog house is meant to keep rain out, I have found that on occasion, water still finds its way inside the dog house. This can lead to damp and unpleasant conditions for my pet and requires extra attention to keep the dog house area dry.
Overall, the Petmate Indigo Dog House is a reliable and comfortable choice for your medium-sized pet. With its insulated design and sturdy construction, your furry friend will be well-protected in all weather conditions. Although it has faced some minor issues, these do not detract from the overall quality and functionality of the dog house.

🔗Quick Setup Coleman Juniper Lake 4-Person Instant Dome Tent with Annex

I recently had the opportunity to test out the Coleman Juniper Lake 4-Person Instant Dome Tent, and I must say, it was a mixed experience. On the one hand, setting up this tent was a breeze, thanks to the pre-attached poles that allowed me to pitch it in about a minute. The ventilated annex, complete with a rainfly, was also a great feature for keeping my gear and dog dry and comfortable.
However, there were a few issues I encountered during my time using the tent. Firstly, the poles had a sliding mechanism that broke the very first time I used it. This resulted in a much heavier and bulkier tent, which was quite inconvenient when packing it up. Additionally, the rainfly, while well-ventilated, did restrict some visibility through the windows, making it slightly less than ideal for enjoying the outdoors.
Despite these drawbacks, the Coleman Juniper Lake 4-Person Instant Dome Tent still proved to be a functional and capable option for my camping needs. With a few improvements, such as detachable poles and a more durable rainfly, this tent could be an even better choice for those looking for a hassle-free camping experience.

🔗Coleman Instant 4-Person Cabin Tent: Durable and Easy Setup

Recently, I had the opportunity to try out the Coleman Instant 4-Person Cabin Tent in tan/black. This instant tent features an 8' x 7' floor that's spacious enough for a queen airbed, allowing for plenty of room to move around comfortably. Its taped seams and welded floor seam offer strength and durability, while mesh windows improve air circulation. Furthermore, it meets CPAI-84 flammability requirements for safety and has a fully-taped WeatherTec system that withstands harsh outdoor elements, keeping all your items dry.
When it came to setting up the tent, the color-coded poles and easy-to-follow instructions made the process a breeze. I was impressed by the tent's ability to withstand various weather conditions, thanks to its durable materials and strong frame. The design also includes ample airflow through large windows and a ground vent, reducing condensation and keeping the interior fresh and cool.
However, there were a couple of downsides, as well. Firstly, the d-style door was a bit hard to open and close, and the zipper required some effort to work properly. Additionally, the tent didn't seem as sturdy as expected in high winds, with the fabric flapping around a bit.
Overall, the Coleman Instant 4-Person Cabin Tent was a decent choice for a camping trip. Its ease of setup, spacious interior, and weather resistance made it a comfortable shelter. However, some improvements, such as better zippers and more durable materials, could have made this tent even more impressive.

🔗Coleman WeatherMaster Tent: 10-Person, Patented Hinged Door, Eureka 17' x 9'

https://preview.redd.it/jlubuu9t8r1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=20b402701a21588f49252e3a3b34308fe9bb7be5
Recently, I had the chance to try out the Coleman WeatherMaster 10-Person Tent on my camping trip. The tent quickly became a game-changer for me and my large family. When it comes to space, this tent is truly remarkable – it comfortably accommodates ten people, giving us all enough room to spread out and enjoy our camping experience.
The WeatherMaster's separate rooms and dividers provided us with much-needed privacy and organization, making our trip even more enjoyable. Setting up the tent was also a breeze, thanks to the color-coded poles and clear instructions. The tent held up well in various weather conditions, keeping us dry and secure throughout.
One of the standout features was the ventilation system. Despite having a large group, the tent remained well-ventilated, preventing condensation and maintaining a comfortable atmosphere. The built-in electrical access port was also a convenient feature that allowed us to stay connected and charge our devices.
However, there were a few drawbacks to the tent. The setup process was a bit slower than I expected, which could be an issue for those looking for a quick set up. Additionally, the rain fly was prone to leaking, which meant I needed to use an extra tarp for added protection. Despite these minor issues, the Coleman WeatherMaster Tent proved to be a valuable addition to our camping trips, delivering on its promises and providing a comfortable and spacious shelter for our family.

🔗Coleman 8-Person Evanston Screened Tent with Screen Room

https://preview.redd.it/qf20nfjt8r1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b559388bec08c0ab85b074e97413fe5444122990
I recently tested out the Coleman Evanston 8-Person Tent with Screen Room for a camping trip, and I was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to set up! The snag-free pole sleeves and Insta-Clip attachments made it a breeze to assemble in less than 15 minutes. As someone who loves the great outdoors, there's nothing more bothersome than having bugs invade your tent. However, the fully screened porch and the four large windows provided maximum ventilation while keeping the bugs at bay.
The tent's 72-inch center height offered plenty of room for my sleeping bag, and the 1442 square feet of floor space was perfect for storing all my gear. The weather-resistant features, such as the taped seams and rainfly, ensured that I remained dry during a sudden rain shower.
The screened-in room was an excellent addition, offering extra space for ventilation or storage. However, one downside was the rainfly, which sometimes made it a bit darker inside the tent even on sunny days. Additionally, the tent was on the heavier side, making it a bit more challenging to transport longer distances.
Overall, the Coleman Evanston 8-Person Tent with Screen Room was a great choice for my camping trip. It provided a spacious and comfortable environment, while also offering a bug-free experience. Despite a few minor drawbacks, I believe this tent would be an excellent option for anyone planning a camping adventure.

🔗Powerful, All-In-One Camping Dome Tent with Rainfly and LED Lights

https://preview.redd.it/i6vsul2u8r1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=723ac854bcf16caad47cefce8b31bd66afe6305e
The Coleman OneSource 6-Person Camping Dome Tent is the perfect companion for outdoor adventures with friends and family. Setting up the tent in my backyard under the sun took only 10 minutes, and the fan feature made sure I stayed cool during that hot summer day. The LED lighting system brightened up the tent, making it an enjoyable place to hang out.
The tent's OneSource Li-Ion rechargeable battery powered not only the integrated fan and LED lighting system but also charged my smartphone, making it a versatile and eco-friendly choice. The included rainfly and weather-resistant features added peace of mind in case of sudden showers.
Although the tent could fit more people, it was cozy enough for my family of four. The ample storage pouches provided a convenient place to store our essentials, while the netting around the tent allowed for enhanced ventilation to keep things fresh inside.
Overall, the Coleman OneSource 6-Person Camping Dome Tent offered a comfortable and enjoyable outdoor experience for my family, and the easy setup, battery-powered features, and weather-resistance made it a winner in our book.

🔗Weatherproof 6-Person Dome Tent with Full-Fly Vestibule from Cabela's

https://preview.redd.it/5f9v0qau8r1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ebc896a67f8f94b6dfd8666f5e77671f6cbf0282
I recently had the chance to try out the Coleman Skydome Camping Tent at our family camping trip. This tent was quick and easy to set up, taking less than 5 minutes. One feature that stood out to me was the full-fly vestibule, providing extra weather protection and additional storage space. The nearly vertical walls also gave us an extra 20% more headroom compared to a traditional dome tent, making it comfortable for everyone inside.
However, there were a few downsides as well. The front door zipper design seemed problematic at times, causing issues when trying to access the tent. Additionally, there was a small hole that appeared in the floor after our first use, though we're unsure if it was already there or not. The tent was also quite heavy at 20 lbs, making it difficult to transport.
Overall, the Coleman Skydome Camping Tent had its ups and downs. The ease of setup and extra space were definitely pluses, but the zipper design and the tent's weight were drawbacks.

Buyer's Guide

Choosing the right Coleman dog tent involves considering several important factors to ensure your dog is comfortable and safe during outdoor adventures. In this guide, we'll discuss key features, considerations, and general advice to help you make the best decision.

Size

Selecting the right tent size is crucial for comfortable and spacious accommodation for both your dog and essential items. Consider the size of your dog and the equipment you want to bring along. Additionally, the tent's interior structure, like loops or hooks, influences how well your dog can move around and maneuver within the space.

Weather Resistance

Coleman dog tents are famously known for their robust weather resistance. Factors affecting this include UV protection, waterproof materials, and ventilation. UV protection prevents sun damage while waterproof materials ensure your dog will stay dry even in wet conditions. Proper ventilation is essential, as it allows for air circulation to keep your dog cool and comfortable throughout their stay.

Ease of Set-up and Portability

A Coleman dog tent should be user-friendly and simple to set up. Look for models with pre-attached poles and guylines for easy setup and takedown. Additionally, portability is essential for camping trips, so consider the tent's overall weight and compact design for easy transportation.

Additional Features

Some Coleman dog tents offer additional features such as mesh windows for increased airflow, detachable rainfly for flexible weather protection, and sewn-in floors to prevent leakage and provide extra insulation.

Consider Your Dog's Needs

Ultimately, the most important aspect of selecting a Coleman dog tent is understanding your dog's individual needs and preferences. Consider factors like mobility, comfort, and safety, and choose a tent based on what's best for your furry friend.
