I have a back gate that my partner uses to enter + exit the property via wheelchair as the front steps are not reallly traversible for her. The problem is that bordering this back gate is a council garage/car park space on the opposite end of the gate, and an unmaintained neighbour's corner to the side. The old lady who prev owned the property died + the new owner comes by once every few months to gut the place then disappears so havent really caught him. Assuming he plans to either flip the house or rent it out.
In the neighbour's corner we have a bush thats overgrowing past the fence along with some invasive trees that will just cause more to sprout on my property and are at risk of building up big roots. See: https://i.imgur.com/yuEfKDC.jpg
On the council's side there is this mass build up of moss + mulch from where it hasn't been maintained. This massively builds up from the council's stuff against my back gate and makes it a slip / trip hazard when getting past the gate. See: https://i.imgur.com/UmeDq4P.jpg
Because the council around here are a bit useless and the neighbour is not unlike the Scarlet Pimpernel, I took the sledgehammer approach of tidying up what I could from my side of things and leaving the ball in their courts to do the rest. In the council's case: I love how they recently slapped an extra charge for green bin collections, so I decided I shouldn't be putting their waste in my bin - and I know it's not my waste because for the last 4 years I've been on top of trimming the hedge and always disposed of the leaves in the green bin. What I did instead was use a snow shovel to scrape away the excess council moss / mulch and. As for the neighbour's trees, I left the cuttings at the back fence of his garden so it's clear it's from his trees and not mine. I collect blu rays because I still enjoy obtaining physical copies of my favorite movies and shows. I was wondering if there was any spots in OC that are good places to find new or used movies. I already frequent BookOff at Costa Mesa and Garden Grove. I’m a little sad that FYE in fullerton closed, and Best Buy and Target have been cutting their inventory of movies.

I'm the same guy that posted that the Independent Order of Odd Fellows cemetery by Acker park was in disrepair and tried finding resources to help turn it around. Here's the link if anyone is interested. I'm still trying.
While walking through the cemetery I came across a gravestone marked "G.M. Robbins - The "End of the Trail" for "Yellowstone Pete" after 25,000 miles by mule train, may he rest in peace" and it got me interested in finding out more about the person. It turns out that Yellowstone Pete holds a place in Americana culture, and really did travel by mule train. There are several pictures linked here that have him, his wife, and mules. I'd love to hear more about him if anyone has more details.

I have also demoed my personal projects in this club and have helped members with learning Python and HTML, since our school’s curriculum is only based on Java.
Personal Computer Science Projects - Just a couple of projects that I made in the past few years that have helped me improve my understanding of coding. My school only offers Java, so these projects were incredibly helpful when it came to understanding R, Python, and JavaScript. My favorite project is a volunteer log tool that breaks down my total hours based on the number of hours that I have volunteered at my local food packing facility and how many boxes each table can pack. Using this information, I can derive how many boxes I have personally helped make and how many children I have fed through my contributions.
Created a review guide for AP Physics 1 that compiled the most important formulas and concepts from our lessons and resources. I also compiled an entire mock exam’s worth of MCQ and FRQ questions to test the hardest questions from each unit. On exam day, there were 54 people on the doc, so there were at least 50 people I impacted with this. I have also recently started a tutoring service for people who are struggling with physics and people who are taking Physics in the future (doing it on Saturday and Sunday every week).

We are a couple going to a 6 days trip in LA next month and i am starting to get stressed with everything I read on reddit. What worries me is the safety of the city and that many things are underwhelming so the trip may not be as fun as we though.... With everything that i read i am not sure what to expect anymore from this city. Here's what we were thinking about maybe doing so if you could tell me if it's safe or if there are more interesting things to do. Thanks!
Day 1 we were thinking Santa Monica /Venice beach. We have our first hotel 4 metrorail stations away from Santa Monica. So the Santa Monica Promenade, the Pier, the beaches, and maybe the Venice canals are on our list to-do.
Then the next day we move to an hotel on Sunset Blvd in Hollywood for the rest of our stays. On day 3 we planned to go to spend the day to Universal Studios. We are not sure we need more than one day there.
So for 3-4 days left here is the options we noted:
-Hollywood Blvd with the Walk of Fame but we don't plan to spend to much time there.

The studios tours. Warners being the most interesting, then Paramount and maybe Sony.

-Academy Musuem of Motion Pictures, maybe LACMA, Petersen Automotive Museum, maybe the La Brea Tar Pits. From there walk to the Original Market and The Grove.
-The Griffith Observatory (not sure if we should go during day or at night), maybe a bit of hiking there or at the Runyon Canyon Park. The LA zoo.
-Rodeo Drive Walk Of Style but not sure if there much to do around. Maybe a bus tour to see the famous street in Beverly Hills.
-If we go to Downtown LA I read to only go during the day. Grand Central Market, Angels Flight Railway, Bradbury Building, The Last Bookstore and The Broad.
So that's what we have for now. We won't rent a car so we will be using the public transport mostly. Except from the airport to our hotel, between the hotels and back to the airport we plan to use Uber. Are there any areas in what I just listed that become more dangerous when it's dark? Are there any ride you would not do with the public transportation? We are big movies lover so do you think something is missing from our to-do list or that we should absolutely remove something?

Onslaught: Playlist

Onslaught Rules: Defend and repair the ADU against waves of combatants. There are 10 waves to a set. ADU: If the ADU is destroyed, the activity ends. Scraps: An in-activity currency. They are earned by scoring and used to purchase and upgrade defenses at the start of every set and after waves 3 and 6. Rewards: Paid out after every set upon defeating the boss wave. Subsequent sets pay out better rewards. Legend increases rewards. Bonus Objectives: Rewards resources, vendor reputation, and armaments.
Power Level Disabled: Combatant difficulty is set at a fixed level.
Void Threat: 25% increase to incoming Void damage.

Riven's Lair

Mettle: Power Level: All combatants in this activity will be at least 5 points over the player's current Power level.
Void Threat: 25% increase to incoming Void damage.
Blackout: Enemy melee attacks are significantly more powerful, and radar is disabled.
Strand Surge: 25% bonus to outgoing Strand damage.
Solar Surge: 25% bonus to outgoing Solar damage.

The Coil

The Coil Rules: Successfully complete four pathways inside Riven's Lair. Escalating Difficulty: Player's Power levels are fixed. Starting at 0 each subsequent pathway increases all combatants' Power level over the player's by 5. Wishing Glass: Wishing Glass is an in-activity currency. They drop from combatants, Glass Collectors, and pots. Wishing Glass comes in multiple rarities equating to their worth. Wishing Glass is used to purchase Dragon's Gifts from Riven. Dragon's Gifts: A set of buffs are randomly chosen, once per run. Between pathways, players can purchase buffs from Riven via Wishing Glass. Buffs are separated into three price point tiers. Rewards: After each pathway, players will return to Riven for their rewards. Subsequent pathways pay out better rewards. Breaking through score thresholds unlock secret chests. Finishing The Coil with a platinum score rewards players with access to the lustrous and lucrative Chamber of Wishes.
Multiplicity: Combatant difficulty scales with fireteam size.
Limited Revives: Limited fireteam revives. Purchase additional revives from Riven with Wishing Glass. Small chance to drop from destroying pots.
Full Extinguish: If all your fireteam members fall with 0 Revive Tokens, everyone is returned to orbit.
Attrition: Regeneration is greatly impaired. Defeating enemies may create wells of Light.
Galvanized: Combatants have more health and are more difficult to stun.

Solar Threat: 25% increase to incoming Solar damage.

I've had this rock for 40 years or more, and if my memory is right, it was collected from west central Indiana, in or near Turkey Run State Park. I believe that it's quartzite, but the spots (that are not just on the surface) are throwing me. Any thoughts what they are?
The rock is translucent, pinkish in color, with rust-red spots. chicken pox rock

I have a back gate that my partner uses to enter + exit the property via wheelchair as the front steps are not reallly traversible for her. The problem is that bordering this back gate is a council garage/car park space on the opposite end of the gate, and an unmaintained neighbour's corner to the side. The old lady who prev owned the property died + the new owner comes by once every few months to gut the place then disappears so havent really caught him. Assuming he plans to either flip the house or rent it out.

Because the council around here are a bit useless and the neighbour is not unlike the Scarlet Pimpernel, I took the sledgehammer approach of tidying up what I could from my side of things and leaving the ball in their courts to do the rest. In the council's case: I love how they recently slapped an extra charge for green bin collections, so I decided I shouldn't be putting their waste in my bin - and I know it's not my waste because for the last 4 years I've been on top of trimming the hedge and always disposed of the leaves in the green bin. What I did instead was use a snow shovel to scrape away the excess council moss / mulch and. As for the neighbour's trees, I left the cuttings at the back fence of his garden so it's clear it's from his trees and not mine.
