I really did try to pick schools where my stats were at least on the bell curve and OOS acceptance was above 25%. My concerns overall are that I generally have no idea how to put a school list together and that many of these schools might be super low-yield for OOS. I am also worried that I might have skipped over a lot of schools that I'd be a good mission fit at.
I have had pretty much zero guidance on applying outside of this subreddit, so I really appreciate any and all advice. Be harsh if you have to, I get it.

For me, it's:

After the first decade or so, time starts being more amorphous and operating on some cross between a timeline that develops and a stationary Simpsons-like timeline where time doesn't really move. Some things progress, some things don't, everything is kept vague, and characters don't notice or call attention to this. Essentially, large amounts of time are zipped into small amounts of time, and both the longer and shorter time intervals between events are "correct" depending on how much we're zooming in on the timeline. For example, Kyle Rayner had a good number of years as a solo Green Lantern and Tim Drake was Robin for a solid amount of time before Hal Jordan returned and Damian Wayne showed up, but somehow, superheroes in general have only been operating for about 10 to 15 years, max. This is really the only way you can keep Batman perpetually in his 30s or 40s without having weird consequences like each Robin only holding the title for a year before he gets a new one.
So after this, I stop having specific "years" and it becomes more like "periods of time in which certain things co-occur." So there might be considerable time intervals between events, yet those events might also paradoxically be squished into some 10-15-year timeline.

There are things I'm on the fence on, such as whether the Golden Age heroes are part of this timeline. On the one hand, I like the idea of Superman being the world's very first superhero and the public never having had encountered anything fantastical until his debut. If the JSA existed before him, then his debut would be met with "hey look, I guess flying men are back" instead of "can you BELIEVE a man can fly?!" Batman's debut also seems more striking if Gotham was never patrolled by a Green Lantern (that guy probably would have single-handedly demolished Gotham's mob in the '40s instead of letting it grow to the size it would later become).
On the other hand, I wouldn't want to jettison the cool relationships that exist between the Golden Age and later characters, like Kyle Rayner knowing Jade. I think I lean toward "keep them on Earth-2, but allow them to have regular meetings and friendships with the Earth-0 guys." But if the walls between universes are that porous, that just raises the question of why Power Girl got stuck on Earth-0 when the rest of the Earth-2 people can go home whenever they want.

Hello everyone, I (23F not originally from the UK but live in it now) really hope there's someone that can help me.
I have worked at this company for over 6 months, working in a team of 5. Today at work, I felt attacked and discriminated by my line manager ( female let's call her Kate). Kate has came to me while I was making a drink at work, and told me that my outfit was inappropriate and Kate had received previous reports about it, she didn't want to say who. I kind of froze at that moment and didn't know what to say to the statement.
I have spoken to my team leader (lets call her Lily) and Lily went to have a talk with Kate to explain how I felt. A Few hours later the manager came back and took me for a chat in another room.
Kate said that it was the CEO and another male who works at the company, which is above the manager in the company, that has reported the way I dress and that herself (Kate) sometimes gets distracted by me. Kate said (sometimes while on my desk I look up and look at you and I can't focus) I found that really weird. The other thing I found weird is that the CEO and the other male (he's always been so weird and always looking at other girls and I caught him staring at me occasionally which is made me feel really uncomfortable and other female colleagues too including Lily) only come to the office occasionally so I barely see them and I don't remember myself wearing anything revealing, so I am not sure why this complaint would come from these two?.
I have asked Kate how comes she did not respond to the complaint and get specific information from them before approaching me, and if they do lack self control around women or get distracted by women's bodies which we cannot hide our figures?, why is it my responsibility to wear conservative clothing?.
Kate responded to my question to say, it's because you were wearing fishnet stockings and the sheer top were inappropriate ( I had a top under my sheer one which covered my stomach and cleavage area, including wearing shorts under my skirt) Just to add up that I have other female colleagues wearing low tops, shorts, skirts... And none of them were being spoken to. To add to this, if I wear a skirt I always wear stockings or tights ect never bare and always have shorts under my skirt.
I always get told off about things especially from my manager Kate. I actually don't know why Kate has singled me out every time in any situation relating to work or not such as this. Other examples can be arriving at work at 9.01am and her calling my personal phone to ask why I am late (I was actually entering the office at the time). Previously Kate approached my team and spoke to me asking about a specific case where she could not locate it, this I assisted with to show where it is on the company files and even though nothing was wrong with the case, she will still remark that it was my fault she couldn't find it...
Everyone has noticed how differentiated her treatment to me and everyone at work agreed that my clothes were unrevealing and were perfectly fine.
Pls note that the dress code in the handbook is smart casual.
Could anyone advise me on what to do please? I would like to report this and other cases where I felt triggered and discriminated. If you need any more details let me know. Thank you.

2024.05.21 21:59 cosmicyogurt Coworker is constantly on top of everything I do to, correcting my mistakes, and I feel terrible about it

She is not my boss, I am not her responsibility. She is just one of those "above and beyond" and "attentive to detail and quality" kinda employees so she ends up always nagging others, particularly me, about details and punctual meeting attendance. I also suspect she thinks I am stupid due to my forgetfulness because I have noticed a couple times that she sounds annoyed when I ask for clarification/repetition of things I did not catch before.
I am not medicated because it slips out of my budget right now and I have not disclosed my diagnosis at my workspace out of fear of replacement/discrimination/anything else that might pop-out. Whenever I make a dumb mistake, I just feel bad and try to repeat to myself that my real self and life are outside work so I just kinda try to detach myself from it, but I always feel kinda bad for a few hours/the rest of the day.

If we prevail in arbitration we’ll pay all of our attorneys’ fees and costs and won’t seek to recover them from you.   6. Injunctive and Declaratory Relief. Except as provided in 13(b) above, the arbitrator shall determine all issues of liability on the merits of any claim asserted by either party and may award declaratory or injunctive relief only in favor of the individual party seeking relief and only to the extent necessary to provide relief warranted by that party’s individual claim.   9. Languages. These Official Rules may be made in multiple language versions. In the event of a dispute as to the terms of different language versions, the English version shall prevail.

Young America’s Foundation is taking legal action against the University of California, Los Angeles, following the institution’s blatant violation of students’ First Amendment rights. Last week, UCLA forced the last-minute cancellation of a planned event featuring Robert Spencer, founder of Jihad Watch.
The pro-Israel event, which was organized by the school’s Young Americans for Freedom chapter, would have provided a voice of reason amidst the chaos of the pro-Hamas encampments and protests–but apparently, reason and common sense are not allowed at UCLA.
Despite previously granting the event approval, UCLA abruptly reversed its decision on the day of the event, blocking YAF staff out of the reserved venue and citing arbitrary security concerns. This action followed weeks of inconsistent and obstructive behavior by the university, which included initially refusing the event, offering insufficient time to promote it, and ultimately shutting it down on the day-of.
James Kerwin, senior attorney at Mountain States Legal Foundation, remarked in a letter to the administration, “UCLA’s actions represent a gross violation of the First Amendment. The university’s conduct handed an unconstitutional ‘heckler’s veto’ to anti-Israel activists and engaged in blatant viewpoint discrimination against pro-Israel messages.”
The letter reminds administrators of their legal obligations to preserve evidence, noting that YAF is working to prepare the lawsuit and intends to file very soon.
YAF’s forthcoming lawsuit aims to hold UCLA and its administrators accountable for their actions, seeking injunctive and declaratory relief, as well as damages.
Kerwin added, “We warned UCLA that it would be held to account if it did not respect YAF’s constitutional rights. We are deeply disappointed that UCLA did not heed this warning. YAF is committed to vindicating its rights and ensuring that such violations do not occur in the future.”
When UCLA’s sister school, UC-Berkeley, used similar tactics to prevent a successful Ben Shapiro lecture in 2017, Berkeley had to pay a $70,000 settlement and rescind its unconstitutional policies.
UCLA administrators were well aware of the Berkeley case, so it’s a bit surprising that they handled this situation so recklessly.
When YAF reminded administrator Pamela Lewis of the Berkeley situation early on in the event planning process, she said, “Yeah, we didn’t appreciate that.”
“We will win our lawsuit against UCLA, just like we won the case UC-Berkeley,” YAF President Governor Scott Walker said during a recent NewsMax interview about the situation. “But the fact of the matter is we shouldn’t have to go to court. Colleges should be places where free expression, where free speech is embraced and revered–and yet it’s most under attack.”
YAF is dedicated to standing up for our students and will continue to fight against any attempts to suppress their constitutional rights. Further updates on this case will be provided as the legal process unfolds.

Last January, I (24M) put in a two week notice at the Walmart I worked at for over 6 years. I did this so I could fully dedicate time for a search for work in my field of expertise. After 3 months of flat Nos' and no callbacks, I decided to call the Walmart I used to work at to see if they would hire me back. I should note that as my final day approached, a lot of my team leads said I should've waited until I had a job lined, which indicated to me they wanted me to stay.
So when I called up the hiring manager to see if I could get my job back, they told me to reapply and answer the assessments. Now another thing that I should note about me is that I am autistic, and thus I am not really good at social cues and need a bit more patience, and a good chunk of the questions were stuff like "what would you do in this situation" or "what's your approach to work" that kind of thing.
A while after applying, the HM told me I failed the assessment and had to wait another month to reapply. I tried asking why that what was an issue now when I successfully applied in the past, managed to stay with the company for over 6 years, and left completely of my own volition. They told me flatly that the assessment was all that mattered. I told my mom about it, and she said that we should consider a discrimination lawsuit and that I should get a copy of my personal file.
I myself am conflicted, because on one hand: I had been with Walmart for over 6 years and the attitude of my former Co workers and team leads is that they wanted me to stay. So it feels shitty that they won't hire me back because of an self assessment when they know what kind of worker I am. On the other hand, this could permanently burn the bridge with Walmart, which is something I don't need when I still don't have a job. Not to mention the fact that we'd be taking on a massive conglomerate, which would definitely be a very costly endeavor. And at the end of the day, it was my choice to leave Walmart in the first place. What do you guys think I should do?
TLDR: Should I sue my former employer of over 6 years for not rehiring me based on a failed personality assessment they had me take as a neuro-divergent person?

KATHY'S BACKSTORY (updated)
Kathy's mother was a newly immigrated immigrant of the United States. She had to live in a poor neighbourhood alongside her dad, but when World War 1 came around, her dad was drafted and she was raped by the soldier who visited her to tell her her father was dead. Shortly after, she had the soldier's child, gave birth to Kathy and left her on the orphanage's cold doorstep before dying shortly of hypothermia.
Kathy was born in July 1925 in a dingy apartment with no midwife present and therefore the labour was very difficult for her mother. A cat watched them the whole time; its luminous green eyes were observant like a guardian animal.
Kathy grew up discriminated against even in the orphanage and with the Great Depression, she was sometimes forced to eat tin plates to get nutrients and most of the time, she had no food at all. Being acquainted with cats in the back alley, Kathy had a great deal of experience with trash diving and would eat fish bones (after wrangling one from a poor stray cat).
Kathy's eyes are monolid and squinted. She also has white skin and plain black hair that made it obvious she was of East Asian descent. This made her even more discriminated against, especially in school, where other kids will taunt her and make fun of her eyes. She scratched her bully's eye once and got expelled for it. The orphanage forcibly locked her in her room for a month and attempted to make her malnourished, but she simply got more rebellious and would leave at certain times through the window like a cat.
During World War 2, the discrimination against immigrants was at an all-time high, especially towards Italians and East Asians. Kathy was rescued from being trapped behind a metal fence with barbed wires along with other Asian immigrants and Asian-Americans by being adopted by an American when she was 17, just a month before she would officially turn 18.
Kathy’s adoptive father treated her well and even gave her a cat for comfort because she was similar to one up until she turned 18 when she would receive her first “customer” who, in reality, raped her while she was locked up in her room with them. Her adoptive father would later simply dub it as a business regime that all adult girls like her must do. She reluctantly follows this mindset and continues to be pimped by him from that age and onwards.
Kathy's adoptive father also had a side job selling cocaine and other types of recreational drugs. He was lucky when a customer related to the Italian mob family residing in America had bought all kinds of drugs from him at a reckless price. Kathy saw the customer's face and it was bruised up; he had a large black eye, scars that were likely from the war, and dead eyes that were twitching from withdrawal.
Kathy has amassed a bunch of cats which she adopted, and because of her anxious attachment, she locks them up down in the basement where they are forced to feed off of what Kathy is only giving them and keeps on populating.
Kathy actually has killed several of her customers and has witnessed her pimp kill some of them too for failing to fail or doing too much damage. Kathy was influenced by her pimp and only started killing later on. These bodies are always dumped in the basement where the cats will feed on them and eventually develop a taste for human flesh.
Once, business was actually going well, and Kathy had forgotten to feed her cats for a month. When she came to check back on them again, several cats were bloody and gruesome and they had developed a taste for human flesh. Kathy died from blood loss due to the injury she obtained from one of her cats pouncing on her and scratching her eye. There was no body to be found that next morning.

HELL KATHY Kathy arrived in hell and did sex work for a time; her customers were mostly men, but she also didn't mind women.
During this time, Angel was also performing sex work and also had a customer demographic of mostly men. They were in the same strip club, but did not find much interest in each other. Angel, specifically, shrugged her off while he was counting bills and snorting cocaine.

Angel Dust later brings this up to Kathy and she starts to question herself if she's really consenting to all of it.
Later on, Kathy form a bond with angel dust and angel dust even introduce Kathy to charlie and the other demon in the hazbin hotel. Kathy really like's the hotel. and the demon's she meet. Kathy even meet the demon king himself "Lucifer". Charlie is just much happier than she is and hoping that Kathy will join to the path of redemption, in Charlie's shocked Kathy dissaproved and said "I'm no where on path of redemption to the heaven, just look at me I'm whore"
Kathy then Left to go for a shoot for Valentino as she's walking she noticed angel dust being harrased, Kathy then scratches and bites a guy to his death that was harassing Angel Dust outside of the porn studio once. Angel Dust says he could have also dealt with that himself and shoots a guy who was aiming for Kathy's back. They're even now. Kathy smile at angel dust as they both handle the shark Mafia group and killed them
Kathy was the first to get a crush on Angel Dust as angel dust was pursuing Husk, this left Kathy heartbroken but she respect angel dust and didn't intervene with their relationship.
The termination came and Adam when down with the other angel's and Kathy help Charlie and angel dust to fight. the battle go on and unfortunately event happened and sirpentious died when Adam shoot him with beam. everyone's from the hotel mourn from sirpentious death. The battle stop when Lucifer came and help Charlie.
A years passed after the termination and everyone know that a soul can be redeem and sirpentious is the example.
Angel dust and Kathy's journey into the redemption started as they they set out on a journey to take down Valentino's porn studio and set out on a journey to emotionally heal. Kathy love's to admired Angel dust from affar as she respect angel's dust and husk relationship, she's didn't confess as she knew it won't matter.

Hi, all! 👋

Intro/Question:

Let me just start out by saying that I’ve been on here for a little while and have admired not only the persistence, dedication, and grit of the women on here, but also the kindness and support in comparison to other groups. I wish I could give/get hugs from you all because a lot of you seem like such wonderful people, and I could really use some of that kindness in my life at the moment.
Now, I guess I’ll get right into my reason for posting this: I’d love some advice/insight/thoughts from y’all on recommendations for my next steps in this career transition towards software development because I’ve been struggling for awhile with finding a FT or even PT role.
Throughout this time, my mental health has also declined greatly (while on this journey, I’ve actually started antidepressant medication for the first time ever because my mental health has exponentially decreased, and have also seen a few different therapists in the same span of time).

VERY brief overview of my journey thus far:

Early Education: Growing up in a predominantly white community outside the main city, I was put into ESL classes despite being born in the U.S. I'm Latina, and my parents--who knew little English at the time--agreed with everything the educators suggested. This meant I was often taken out of critical science and math classes to make time for ESL work. Despite being a straight-A student, I had to work harder than others, and I believe this was one reason why.About a year and a half ago, I was diagnosed with combined ADD/ADHD. As a kid, it often took me longer to complete my work. My parents noticed but assumed it was just the way I functioned. My mom often recounted how I needed a "million" breaks while doing homework, which often led to late nights. Despite these struggles, I managed to stay on top of my studies.
Undergrad Education (2015 - 2019): I am a first-gen college grad and earned a bachelors in biochem & environmental science summer 2019. I discovered computer science during my junior year of college (by then, it was too late to take more courses in CS let alone attempt to make a switch without staying an extra year, which my scholarships would not cover). After graduating college, I was still interested in learning more about CS, so I took an Introduction to Programming in C course at my local community college, and not only earned an A, but also thoroughly enjoyed the content.
Grad School (Spring 2022): Enrolled in an online Masters in CS at Case Western Reserve University for those without CS degrees with a $30,000 grant from the dept. Took Discrete Mathematics and Algorithms & Data Structures in Java (those of us w/o a CS degree had to pass these before being able to move into the rest of the program where we’d be merged with those who DID have CS degrees), but paused due to my younger brother's unexpected passing.
Bootcamp (Fall 2022): Received a full-ride scholarship to a bootcamp (1/15 out of 1200 applicants accepted) where I learned full-stack development with Python, JavaScript, SQL, Flask, AJAX, and React, among other technologies. Graduated December 2022.
Further Learning (Spring/Summer 2023): Accepted into Code the Dream’s React course, dedicating over 20 hours per week to mastering React all while volunteering to work on open-source projects.
Internship (Fall 2023 - Present): I was interning at an early-stage Ed Tech startup up until the end of April, contributing to building an app from the ground up. I Gained experience in code writing/reviewing, CI/CD methodology, technical communication, and working on a software development team along with other teams like the content team and design team.

Struggles/Thoughts:

I have been consistently applying for FT/PT roles, internships, etc. with nothing but maybe 4 interviews since graduating from my bootcamp. In addition, I’ve been tweaking my resume for jobs that I feel I could be a particularly good candidate for using Jobscan with no luck.
With regards to the startup, they’ve informed me that they do not have sufficient funding to bring me on. Furthermore, about a month after the internship contract officially ended, the other female intern (graduated from the same bootcamp, although different cohorts) at the startup also let me know that she was being brought on again for an extended contract, and asked if I was offered the same—to which I replied that no, I wasn’t. I guess she also has an associates in CS, which also helps and I am not mad at her for anything and support her and uplift her, but as you can imagine, I am a little disappointed (more in myself than anything, I guess). It just makes me feel a bit crushed. I made myself always available (even after hours), replied quickly, got along super well with everyone, got my tasks all done for the most part. ==> Towards the end, I was tasked with a particularly difficult task, and was able to get through a good chunk of a new game, but was not able to fully finish. During this period, I was also struggling to get ahold of my ADHD meds, but they seemed to be out of stock everywhere, so that also didn't help.

Next steps:

I’m debating whether I should just keep applying, find some other program (AS/BS/MS), or just stop this trajectory altogether (although, I REALLY hope that I won’t have to because it would probably break me 😔).
I know that my math skills probably aren’t on par with those of others in the field, and I know that I need to work on those as well, so if you have any suggestions for free resources for that/what I should focus on with regards to teaching myself these concepts I’d also really appreciate it. I asked for reasonable adjustments at my workplace back in January (reduced hours). In mid April this was finally addressed and I was told very firmly there is no way to reduce my hours because of the cost.
I was at the end of my tether after months of persevering so I handed in my notice and gained a fit note that recommended reduced hours (I have chronic anxiety and am waiting an ASD assessment). I was working 4x10.5 hour days, but did get half days on Friday whilst recovering from a broken wrist, and a colleague worked 3 days a week. They say they can no longer accommodate reducing hours due to costs, staffing etc. (I work in a nursery, we use agency staff when needed, so the cost of covering me for a day would be say an extra £3 an hour max).
The owner of the company has been a little odd since I handed in my notice, pressuring me to get fully signed off work and to retract my resignation. I asked my union to help out and during our meeting today the owner was quite rude to the union rep, basically saying she shouldn't comment or ask any questions.
The union rep wants to pursue as a discrimination case but I worry this is in response to the owner being rude. Does it sound like this is actually a discrimination case worth pursuing? Would it be a lot of hassle to go through
Edit: I'm in England, been working there since Nov 23, I was diagnosed with mixed anxiety and depressive disorder amongst other things when I was 18 (now 28) and have a quite established medical record showing it continues to affect me significantly. I was open with my employer about this from the start

At the campfire ceremony, Chris attempts to build suspense by reminding the campers about the safety of a marshmallow, but Heather insists he get on with it, so the moment is cut short. Chris calls on Shawn, Zoey and Max before tossing them all a marshmallow. He then gives Owen and Heather one each, leaving Emma and Katie. Both Emma and Heather shoot angry looks at Katie, making her feel a tad worried, but Chris gives her the last marshmallow and deems Emma eliminated, causing her to have an outburst at Heather.
Emma: I knew I couldn’t trust you! You’re a backstabbing snake!
Heather: Please, as if I’d betray you this early. If I had any say, you’d still be here for a few more weeks.
Emma: Then, how?
Katie: It’s not just me who’d been fed up with how mean you’ve become. We don’t want a second Heather on this team. No offense.
Heather: Offense taken.
As Emma walks the dock of shame and the rest of the Screaming Gophers disperse, Chris turns to the camera to say his outro.
Chris: Will Max finally do something actually evil? How much longer can Heather keep her alliance afloat? And what will Damien do once he finds out about Bunny’s replacement? Find out next time, on Total Drama Island!

Basic Straining
The episode opens with Duncan using his knife to carve a skull into the wall of the Bass cabin when Axel exits the cabin. She scoffs at him, but before she can leave, Duncan attempts to apologize for how he’s treated her in the past. Axel stops to think for a second, but she sees through Duncan’s lie and leaves anyway.
Confessional:
Duncan: Of course I didn’t mean what I said to Axel, but Trent and Sammy are too loyal to one another, and Damien’s essentially attached himself to Dawn. Sadly this means that Axel is the only person I have a chance to ally with, so I need to get back on her good side.
Meanwhile at the Gophers cabin, Katie is sitting dejectedly on the front steps when Owen comes over to cheer her up.
Owen: Are you still bummed out about poisoning me? It’s okay, I know it was an accident.
Katie: That’s only half the problem. Emma got so mad at me for it, and now apparently I brought a cursed item to the team.
Owen: You mean your tiki souvenir? Are you sure it’s cursed?
Katie: Apparently it’s from Boney Island, so I’d say it’s pretty cursed.
Owen: Well, you don’t have to get rid of it, if that’s what you’re worried about. It may be cursed, but it’s still yours. I say you should keep it to remember this show by.
Katie: Thanks Big-O.
Owen: You know what? Let's prove Emma wrong. If you try your best this time, I’m sure you’d do way better at the challenge than you think!
Just then, the loudspeakers turn on, but instead of Chris, it’s Chef Hatchet who orders the campers to meet him at the docks for their next challenge. At the docks, Chef is dressed in a military uniform and starts barking orders at the campers about fixing their forms, with the one exception being Axel, whose form he deems “surprisingly average”. Chef then goes over today’s challenge. The teams will go through Chef’s grueling boot camp and drop out one by one until the last person remaining wins immunity for their team. Heather asks Chef what happened to Chris, but he ignores it and starts going over further rules, like how everyone will have to address him as Master Chief, and that no one eats or sleeps unless he says so.
Confessional:
Axel: I was never trained in the military, but I’m adept in most fields of work Master Chief could go over, so this will be a breeze.
For the first part of the boot camp, each team must carry a canoe, and will continue to do so until someone drops out and rings a bell on the dock. Owen and Trent each make a remark about how easy the challenge sounds, but by noon, everyone is starting to feel the heat.
Chris and Chef are sitting on top of the canoes while taunting the campers about missing lunch. This causes Owen to think about quitting, but Max catches on and tells him not to.
The Bass are still holding up strong, so Duncan tries to talk to Axel again. He says that he knows she hates him, but they’re both stuck between the two couples and need each other. This causes Axel to angrily reply that she’d take her chances with the others over him, leaving Duncan beginning to get annoyed. However, Trent overhears the conversation and begins to look worried.
As night rolls through, the campers are all tired, especially Owen, who has fallen asleep with his arms still holding onto the canoe. Chef is recalling a story from his military days, and Heather asks him what war he was in, causing him to shout at her. Heather then turns to Shawn and tries to strike up a conversation with him.
Heather: Hey Zombie Boy, how do you feel about joining my alliance?
Shawn: Wait what? You’re kidding, right?
Heather: You and Emma were friends, yes?
Shawn: Sure, but that doesn’t mean I trust you. What happened to getting payback on me for locking you in the freezer?
Heather: You could trust me if you were in my alliance. With Emma gone, I’m missing a member of the alliance, and if you join, you won’t be in as bad a spot as you are now.
Shawn: Oh, and what is that supposed to mean?
Heather: Think about it. I didn’t vote Emma off, she got herself eliminated. If the team knew you worked with her, maybe they’d vote you out too. Especially since you’re such a big threat without any allies. With me, I could protect you, plus I won’t plot against you anymore.
Shawn: You were plotting against me?
Heather: That’s besides the point. Just think about it.
Later, Chef has finished bragging about his line of duty just in time for Max to decide he isn’t going to stand in one spot anymore. Much to his teammate’s dismay, he walks down the dock and rings the bell, thus allowing the contestants to drop their canoes. Chef insults Max through his megaphone before ordering everyone else to go to the mess hall to eat dinner, getting Owen excited.
In the cafeteria, Chef announces that everyone will get only ten minutes to eat before he starts night training, which gains him a lot of complaints. Damien asks him where the food is, and Chef gestures to a row of trash cans filled with leftover garbage from breakfast, which only causes more complaining. Owen, however, doesn’t discriminate against the disgusting food and eats some anyway. Chris then invites Chef to eat at the craft services tent, leaving the teams to themselves.
Trent meets with Sammy and tells her about what he heard between Duncan and Axel. He says that Duncan has a point and that since nobody really likes Duncan, Axel would be the deciding vote between them and Dawn and Damien. Hearing this, Sammy comes up with an idea, and suggests winning Axel over ahead of time so that she’s with them. Trent likes the idea, so Sammy goes over to talk with Axel. They have a friendly conversation, and Sammy offers Axel the least disgusting food she can find in the trash, to which Axel declines. Sammy then returns to Trent to talk about other ways to win Axel over.
Damien was watching Sammy’s conversation with Axel, and realises what she and Trent were trying to do, so he walks over to Dawn to talk with her.
Damien: I hate to say this, but we’re going to have to start getting extra votes against Trent and Sammy
Dawn: But why? Wouldn’t we just vote Duncan?
Damien: No, that’s not- I mean, after Duncan’s gone, all that’s left of the Killer Bass is us, them, and Axel. And I think they know that too, because they’re trying to bond with her.
Dawn: Yes, Axel is stuck in between the four of us. I’m not very worried though. I’m good friends with her.
Damien: I know, but we should start getting closer so that if need be, Axel will vote with us instead of them.
Damien then digs through the trash and finds a carrot that is half eaten, but otherwise clean. He decides to save it for Bunny, before noticing that Dawn looks unsure of something. He asks her what’s wrong and she brushes it off as having missed Bunny while it was gone. Damien is happy with this answer and tells Dawn that he knew she and Bunny would get along well, but this only makes her feel worse.
Confessional:
Dawn: Bunny left Damien, but I still don’t know why Duncan found a replacement. Duncan is not to be trusted, but I don’t know how to break the news to Damien that Bunny’s really gone.
We then cut to the next part of the boot camp, which is to repeat Chef’s suspiciously Triller-esque dance routine. The dancing goes on for a while until it’s interrupted when Duncan shuts off the music. Chef angrily asks him what he’s doing so Duncan reminds him about how once someone drops out the training ends. Chef says that they’ll be done when he says they’re done, before forcing Duncan to do push-ups.
Next up, write a three hundred word essay about how much you love Chef, being eliminated if you fall asleep or fail to reach the minimum word count. Owen and Katie are discussing ways to pad out their essays while cracking jokes to make each other laugh. Seeing the two of them bonding, Shawn turns back to his own essay looking a little less confident.
Duncan takes a break from doing the challenge to try and persuade Axel to join him again. She snaps at him and tells him to get lost, but Duncan mentions Shawn, which gets her attention.
Duncan: Let’s face it, everybody knows you like Shawn.
Axel: So? If you want to mock me about it, expect a fight!
Duncan: No, I’m saying that you two are pathetic. Neither one of you ever makes a move! Watching you two is like watching a car crash in slow motion.
Axel: (Sarcastically) Thanks for the advice, Dr. Love.
Duncan: You need a wingman, badly. So it’s going to be me.
Axel: Why would I ever listen to you?
Duncan: Because if you and Shawn are ever going to be a thing, you need me.
Axel: Fine. But if you pull anything you’ll leave this island in a cast.
Duncan gets Axel to close the deal with a handshake before returning back to working on the challenge. Later, Chef returns to pick up the essays, and eliminates both Trent and Zoey for falling asleep. As for everyone else, their essays meet the requirement, although Duncan’s is just one sentence with 289 verys in between. On his way out of the cafeteria, Chef slips in a puddle of Owen’s drool from him being half asleep, and Duncan offers to clean him off. This causes Chef to yell at him again, and the rest of the Bass stop Duncan from saying anything more, lest he get them all in trouble.
The next evening, the training continues, as Chef forces the campers to run an obstacle course until everyone can do it in less than a minute. As they climb a wooden wall, Axel asks Duncan for advice and he tells her she should get Shawn’s attention by showing off her survival skills in the course. Axel takes the advice and waits for Shawn to reach the top of the wall before jumping off and doing acrobatic tricks in midair. This catches Shawn’s eye, who shows off some tricks of his own in return.
The obstacle course causes trouble for some of the other campers, as Owen gets stuck while jumping through a tire, getting him eliminated. On top of that, Damien falls flat on his face when climbing the wall. He pukes up some mud, and is coughing and sputtering, so Chef eliminates him too and sends him to the infirmary.
After going through a montage of campers falling into the mud or otherwise failing, we see Katie struggle to clear a rope swing. She remembers what Owen told her and tries it again, only to clear it easily. She cheers for herself before continuing to run the course.
While crawling through the mud, Sammy reaches a deep spot and starts sinking. Duncan passes while mocking her, only to come across an angry Chef. He gives Duncan more pushups, but Duncan just thanks Chef before kissing him on the nose. This sends Chef off the edge and he announces that Duncan will spend the rest of the night in solitary confinement in the boathouse. This causes everyone to gasp, but Duncan asks how bad it could be, before we cut to him sitting in the boathouse regretting that comment.
In the cafeteria, the contestants remaining in the boot camp are being fed rock hard gruel. Dawn sits down next to Axel, intending to win her over, but Axel is the one to talk first. She explains to Dawn how Duncan is working as a wingman for her and Shawn, and while Dawn is happy for Axel, she reminds her about how Duncan is untrustworthy. She talks about how he replaced Bunny when it left Damien, and that she thinks he has a secret agenda behind everything. Axel agrees with Dawn but leaves to get more advice from Duncan anyway.
Heather finds the gruel Chef has served her to be well past unappetizing, and chooses to instead try to persuade Shawn again. She points out how close Owen, Katie and Max have become, and that since she still has Zoey, they’ll go after him first. After careful consideration, Shawn caves and agrees to work with her. But he specifies that while he will do what’s required for her to protect him, he will not associate himself as a member of her alliance. Despite this, Heather is still pleased by the news, and leaves to get some sleep.
In the boathouse, Axel finds Duncan sweeping the floors to pass the time.
Duncan: Did you get General Crazy angry at you too?
Axel: No, I’m here so you can make good on our deal. What’s some more advice you have?
Duncan: Really? You can’t be so desperate that you need my help for every single thing.
Axel: Then what do you want me to do then? This was entirely your idea!
Duncan: Just ask Shawn out. Maybe set up a date or something. But if you just sit there and don’t talk to him I promise you that nothing good will happen. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to mess with Chef.
Duncan then leaves despite Chef’s orders and heads towards the craft services tent, leaving Axel behind wondering what she could do.
In the Gophers cabin, Katie visits Owen, who congratulates her on doing so well in the boot camp. Katie is ecstatic at her performance and thanks him for giving her the pep talk. Max, while also happy for Katie, insists that “Evil has better things to do than make friends” as he works on something secret in his bunk bed. Owen tells Katie that he thinks she can win the entire challenge, but to this Katie is still a bit skeptical.
The remaining Bass return to their cabin to find Trent and Damien playing cards on the front steps, and inside Dawn finds various snacks left in a big pile on her bed. She’s confused how it got there, but is happy to finally find something edible, so she invites everybody on both teams to hang out and eat the food. As the eleven of them dig in, they discuss how insane Chef is for making them do full on combat training, with only Shawn, Axel, and surprisingly Katie enjoying the challenge. Eventually the relaxation is ruined when Chef barges in and orders everyone in the Killer Bass to line up outside. He announces that the food they were dining on was stolen from the craft services tent, and that he was tipped off that it was one of them because the perpetrator left a raw bass in the fridge. Dawn confesses that she found it on her bed, but before she can explain herself Chef automatically eliminates her from the boot camp and confiscates the rest of the food.
Chef starts the last part of the boot camp the next morning, which is to hang upside-down from a tree until only one person is left. The last campers left are Sammy, Duncan and Axel for the Bass, and Shawn, Heather and Katie for the Gophers. Axel confronts Duncan about what he did, and he admits he stole Chris and Chef’s food, left a bass behind as a calling card and dumped the food on the first bed he found. Axel is pissed at him for getting Dawn in trouble with Chef and cuts the deal between them, causing Duncan to tell her that he never really cared.
Confessional:
Duncan: Okay, maybe I went a little too far, but I’ve always found a way to stay in the game. Surely this will be no different, right?
Chef rants about the side effects of being upside down, and as he goes over each one, someone gets it, causing them to fall off the tree. Eventually it’s down to Axel and Katie, with Dawn cheering on Axel while Owen motivates Katie. Axel looks between Dawn and Duncan, and is visibly conflicted, while Katie’s starting to get dizzy. But just as she’s about to fall, Axel jumps off first, meaning the Screaming Gophers win. Katie then falls off the tree before being enveloped in a bear hug by Owen. Chef congratulates Katie, saying he’d go to war with her anytime, but she gets mixed messages from the complement.
Duncan scolds Axel, saying she lost the challenge for them. But she snaps at him in front of everyone.
Axel: You are not fit to be on this island! You essentially threw two challenges, ridiculed me the entire game, and now got Dawn disqualified just because you wanted to prank Chef! So excuse me if I want you out!
Duncan snaps back at her before storming off, and for the first time in a while, Axel looks relieved. Dawn then comes up to her with Damien telling her that she did the right thing. Afterwards, Damien asks Dawn if she only said that to get Axel on their side, gaining an annoyed look from her. Seeing this, he backtracks and says that they should help Axel like real friends, and is relieved when Dawn nods her head in agreement.
Vote off a Killer Bass and come up with any plot points you want to see later.

He loved seeing the smiles bloom on people's faces when he shared some bread or helped them with something but what he truly loved more than anything else was sailing and playing the piano. He was handsome beyond reason, having pale blonde hair and clear blue eyes, though he never had a chance to grow into it fully.

a) Dead Communication; Ever since his close brush with death, Micah's powers surged. His father's connection to spirits and those who have died became his and as such he can now see and communicate with the spirits of the dead. They have been his only source of information on his father. He likes to build a network of spirits whenever he goes somewhere new so he can gather information as fast as possible.
b) Shadow Camouflage; From a fairly young age, Micah wasn't much of a social butterfly. Most of the time, he felt most comfortable in a shadowy nook where the lines of his body would be broken by shadows, using the ability unconsciously. After his near-death experience, Micah became more aware of his ability to hide in shadows and learned to use it more effectively than before.
c) Shadow Travel\;* After an unknowably long amount of time spent in Hades, Micah's father, Charon, was aligned with the underworld to which he led the souls of the dead. Similarly, Micah has inherited the ability to travel through shadows in short or long-range teleports.

a) River Step\;* The connection with the River Styx flows through Micah's veins as much as it does through his father's. The ability this connection granted him was the ability to walk on water, as long as there is no significant shift to the water, such as large waves.
b) Death Buff\;* Being a servant of the God of the Dead, it only makes sense that Charon would draw his own power from his master. As such, Micah has inherited a trait where he becomes stronger when around children of other deities of death, such as Hades, Melinoe, Zagreus, the Oneiroi, etc.
c) Aura of the Harbinger\;* Being a multifaceted deity, Charon passed down his multifacetedness in the form of an aura ability. Micah has the ability to project an aura with two opposite effects that work on separate targets. A calming effect affects any spirits within the aura while an imposing effect like that of Children of Hades affects living beings within the aura's range.

a) Major Watercraft Manipulation\;* Being known as the Ferryman of the Dead, it only makes sense for Charon, and Micah by extension, to have dominion over watercraft. Micah's control over watercraft was one of the first powers he discovered and the power that is most intertwined with him in his entirety. He has inherited the ability to gain absolute control over any and all watercraft down to the rigging and ropes.

Over the years, Micah has picked up a good variety of skills, including fishing and rope work. Still, there have been a great many learning experiences for the boy on the streets of Sicily. Free running came as a given to any child of below-average means in Sicily but Micah was significantly worse than most thanks to a leg injury he got at the age of thirteen. Drawing was the only real luxury he had during his time when he wasn't working. A young lady from a carnival that was passing through taught him how to use throwing knives after he helped her find her way around the city. He learned ballet by watching, sitting for hours outside a studio every day for weeks until he'd gotten good enough to practice independently, which led to his interest in gymnastics. One of the older neighborhood boys took to teaching Micah, his brother, and the other kids how to read and write in English. Micah's adoptive mother insisted on teaching him how to speak English from a young age. Now, he can speak English with a barely noticeable Sicilian accent.

Micah is about as quiet as you'd expect from a Chthonic kid. That isn't to say that he is particularly serious or brooding, in fact, even when he's upset, he rarely does either. He mainly remains silent because he isn't particularly talented at talking. His reactions to most things tend to be a bit muted unless something is especially funny or angering. Any of the kids that liked him or trusted him in Sicily did so because they understood that when it was needed, Micah would talk as much as was needed and would do what needed to be done to keep everyone safe.

backstory
Micah's past year at camp had been simultaneously the most relaxing and confusing year of his life. There had been a unfamiliarity that Micah had with anything to do with relaxation or really anything but working that had slowly melted away. He'd made friends and discovered passions that might have otherwise gone ignored for the rest of his life (Art was definitely one of those).

Micah stared at the ground around the Range target blankly, the celestial bronze knives scattered around it refracting light. He was jolted out of his mental haze when a camper a few rows down yelled at him for standing in front of the target for so long. Quickly finishing up gathering his throwing knives, Micah slotted them into his bandolier and left the Range.
For a while, he just walked, until he reached the pier. Boats had been a constant of Micah's life before coming to camp and when he was really out of it or off his rocker, the son of Charon liked to settle at the camp pier and imagine what sort of sea vessel he'd design for himself. Aesthetics might not have mattered to everyone but to Micah, they did. The ship would have to look as good as it sailed.
Now, he fell onto his back in the sand a few meters from the pier and stared up at the sky. Barely any clouds. Gods that was boring.

I'm 24 (m) hispanic in the United States. I just graduated college and had my first run-in with being denied a job because of "external factors". I applied to a desk position with a mid-sized company and was called in for an interview. I googled the company and noticed they mainly hired a particular group of people. I figured I was already out for the count but went to the interview anyway for practice. I show up and the hiring manager entered the conference room saw me and said "Hey A, Just wanted to see you if were real actually. You know how AI is sending out emails. We will give you a call". I'm more mad at the 20 second interview than anything else. I managed to land an even better job since then but this experience keeps weighing on me.
Has anyone had experience with this? and any pointers for not letting it get too into my head.
TL/DR I applied for a job, got an interview, it was 20 seconds. Might have been discrimination. It weighs on me. Help.

Hi! I am Aidan, a transgender man who is also a femboy. It’s been a while since I browsed Reddit, and when I got into my favorite communities again to get to know what’s going on… Kaboom! A big amount of Femboy subreddits are annoyed, pissed and tired of something: seeing breasts and female genitals in subreddits that are supposed to let only feminine men post pictures. I thought it was only occurring in this subreddit, but discussions are occurring in other subreddits too. The FemBoys subreddit seems to be the main topic of these discussions. This subreddit is a +18 place where you can find pornography of feminine men. If you know, you know. However, you can find explicit content of transexual women too. The femboy subreddit, a family friendly community where you can find pictures of feminine guys, and where +18 posts are strictly banned, you can find pictures and stories about transexual women too. Entire communities of femboys are standing up against these situations, and since I’ve seen people who are not transgender saying what is transphobic, and what should be transphobic, I decided to post my opinion in these controversies as a transgender man who likes being feminine sometimes. With that being said, let’s get into this post.
  1. Are transexual women the same thing as femboys?
Short answer: no. Femboy is a term commonly used on the internet to describe a guy who acts, dresses, and talks in a way that is culturally feminine. In the real world, “Cross-dresser” is the most used term to describe feminine men.
Transgender men can be feminine too, but maybe not in the same way a common male is, because the vast majority of our clothing choices are driven by gender dysphoria. I’ve always liked mini skirts, but my gender dysphoria didn’t let me use them, due to mini skirts highlighting the female characteristics I was born with. Let’s be real: skirts are designed to fit and highlight women’s bodies, but that doesn’t mean men and transgender men can’t use them too, of course. After four years of physically modifying my body to obtain a masculine shape, my gender dysphoria reduced to the point I can wear mini skirts without wanting to squeeze my hips to make them less noticeable, lol.
I forgot to say gender dysphoria is the distress we, transgender people, feel due to the incongruence of our biological sex and the sex we self-identify with. It goes beyond not liking our sexual characteristics, and it can manifest through wanting to change our IDs as soon as possible, wanting to be treated and recognized as the sex we self-identify with, and a strong conviction that we think and act the same as a person of our self-identified sex.
Being masculine, as a female, doesn’t mean you must be a transgender man; and being feminine, as a male, doesn’t mean you must be a transgender woman, because clothing comes and goes, but our gender identity remains the same throughout our lives. Gender and gender identity are biological, because it is in the brain. Female brains and masculine brains aren’t the same. The principal hypothesis to the reason behind transexuality is that we, transgender people, are the result of an anomaly during gestation. Transgender women have female brains and male bodies, while transgender men have male brains and female bodies. This incongruence makes us transition in the first place, due to, in my case, my brain knows it’s male, and can’t comprehend why my body is female. So, my brain craves certain physical and medical changes to adjust my body to a male sex. Transgender people probably are the product of an anomaly during sexual development during gestation, but it is what it is. We are born this way and we will die this way. However, it is important to clarify transexuality isn’t a mental disorder, in fact, it can be considered a medical condition due to its biological origin, and we need social and medical support to cope with the difficulties of our transition.
Once I explained how gender can’t be changed and how clothing can’t determine gender identity, I can clarify the difference between a femboy and a transgender woman. A femboy can be as feminine as a transgender woman, but he doesn’t change his ID, doesn’t modify his body to obtain sexually female features, and he always sees himself as a man in the mirror, even when he is dressing up all feminine. Femboys are men, and transgender women are not men. Yes, transgender women have a sexually male body, but they transition in order to make their male characteristics less noticeable and to obtain female features. Transgender women are not Cross-dressers, because crossdressers don’t medically change their whole body to appear feminine, and don’t want to do so.
Genuinely, I don’t understand why transexual women post in femboy subreddits. I hope they know being transexual and being a cross-dresser are two different things, otherwise, they may regret the medical changes they did to their bodies. Transgender women decide voluntarily to post these images in femboy subreddits, so it isn’t like someone is calling them boys or men. As a transgender man, I am not the same as a tomboy (masculine girl/woman), and I would never post any picture in a subreddit dedicated to tomboys, because that isn’t my place. These are the situations in SFW subreddits.
In NSFW subreddits the things are more controversial. There are a lot of transexual women publishing their content while the subreddit is literally called “FemBoys”. To be honest, I feel I can't judge them, at least not completely. “Transexual” is one of the most viewed porn categories worldwide (people like seeing breasts and a penis in the same person) and transexual women usually, for lack of better job opportunities, recur to sexual work. Because that’s how it is called. Selling explicit images on the internet is sexual work. They usually have to deal with misgendering (not referring to someone as the real gender he/she is) to gain money, or to refer to themselves as a lot of slurs to catch the attention of a potential client. I think transexual women publishing their content in femboy subreddits is another strategy to sell their images and videos. However, I don’t think that’s okay, because there are plenty of NSFW subreddits dedicated to transexual women.
So, that’s all for today, fellas. I hope this little post gave you a better understanding of this situation from a feminine transgender man’s perspective. Despite this community’s focus isn’t transexuality, I really appreciate the effort from moderators to make this place free of any type of discrimination. Lately, both in person and on this sub, I have seen a worrying amount of misinformation spreading about the political party Aon Tu. This misinformation either states that they are a left/liberal party or that they are not right/conservative. This is however clearly wrong as any amount of inspection of their statements and social media makes clear; any clear dive into their policies and statements make it clear that they are instead very right wing, if not far right. They use the many familiar terms associated with similar parties, hold the same stances, and even retweet them and their content.
In order to illustrate this below I am presenting the various tweets made by Peadar Tóibín (the current leader of the party, their founder, and currently sole elected official) as well as their official twitter account. I have limited it solely to tweets due to time and space constraints, I have also had to limit the amount of tweets due to the same constraints There is more and I strongly encourage anyway to check their accounts for themselves. If there is interest I can do a deep dive into their other socials and statements, however I do not think there is a way to access the backlog of debates they have had on RTE and radio unfortunately. I believe this thread will stand on it's own however and other such threads won't be needed.

1940's Parker Duofold Vacumatic Junior, also known as the Duovac. Here we have a beautiful green and gold US Parker Duovac. The dating code ".0." on the barrel indicates this is from the initial year of production (1940).
It comes fully serviced and ready to write (fresh diaphragm and cleaned in 2022). You can see the ink levels well through the barrel. You will notice it has a vacumatic filler and not a speedline filler that it most likely came originally. This is actually for the better as the speed-line fillers were a bit more fragile and finiky.The celluloid is in great condition, no cracks, scratches, dins, or personalization, with the engraving well intact.
The nib is 14k gold and reads "PARKER PEN MADE IN U.S.A.". It writes in a fine and is a soft nib with some line variation. The feed is very juicy!

I recently got my hands on the Royal CS120 Black Coin Sorter, and let me tell you, it's been quite the experience. At first, I was excited to sort my loose change into quarters, nickels, dimes, and pennies using these neat little tubes with fill lines. But boy, was it challenging!
Firstly, the tubes were pretty big, which made it hard to fit in the smaller coins like pennies and dimes. I had to constantly open the lid and adjust the tubes, ensuring the white line was correctly aligned to prevent any mix-ups. But honestly, it wasn't all that bad. I thought it'd be tedious, but it actually became quite fun.
The digital readout that counts the total money in the sorter? Well, that was another story altogether. It didn't always give an accurate count, but I didn't mind much because I bought the sorter mainly for sorting, not counting.
But hey, let's not overlook the issue with the rolls. When you empty a tube, you have to put the money wrapper in before manually dropping in the coins. I got myself some extra rolls, which made the process much easier, especially when dealing with a piggy bank of coins.

Cassida's C-C850 Heavy Duty Coin Counter & Off-Sorter has proven to be a reliable workhorse in my daily processing of mixed coins and tokens. As a busy retailer, the 2-speed motorized hopper has been a lifesaver, quickly sorting my coin collection without any jams. Though The Degree had our favorite floorpan in St. Paul and was in our price range, they were rude and hostile toward us. It took months of countless emails and calls after touring the building to hear back from management to apply. Once we finally applied, it took two weeks to get a response. They said they rejected us on the basis of missing a month of rent from a previous apartment from two years ago. The rent was paid off and it was at the end of the lease. We did not realize we had to provide 60 days official notice to vacate even when the lease expires. Nevertheless, the rent was paid back and we explained the situation to The Degree Management when we applied. They told us it would be no problem, but when we finally heard back that we were rejected, the management was different and told us that they "are under a new regime and doing things differently here on out." The thing is that this comes after them knowing that I use a wheelchair and discussing reasonable accommodations. I also just saw a review that they refused to fix a broken elevator. It sure has the appearance of discrimination. TLDR, Do not bother renting with The Degree. Horrible management.
