2024.05.21 19:12 jerubedo Brand New 14900K Unstable at PL1=PL2=253W, ICCMax=307A

Does anyone know what other settings I may need to touch? As stated in the title, I've set both PL1 and PL2 to 253 watts, and I've set the ICCMax (amperage) to 307 amps. This is per Intel guidelines. Cinebench passes and my score is a mere 35K, but Prime95 small FFTs and OCCT both indicate hardware failures. WHEA errors are also thrown that coincide with the reported hardware failure. Does anyone have any thoughts?
I've also tried setting LLC to low from auto. This produces extra stability, but I still see occasional failures after a few hours of running tests, and it's at the cost of a LOT more heat. I've also tried adding a VCore offset, both higher and lower, both of which aren't working.
More system details:
Motherboard: Gigabyte Z790 Aorus Master X Rev. 1.1
RAM: 64GB G.Skill RipJawz DDR5 @ 6400MHz CL32 (Profile 1 enabled but also tried without it, same results)
PSU: EVGA P2 1300W
Cooler: MSI MEG Core Liquid S360 (keeps the CPU at 75-85 per core at Auto LLC and instability, goes into the high 90s with low LLC)

2024.05.21 17:45 bsugs29 Selling a loaned vehicle with money still due, Massachusettes, Subaru 2021 subaru crosstrek

Excuse me if this isn't allowed, but I have a question about selling my car that might be as simple as I think it is but honestly I have no idea. So basically I have a 2021 Subaru Crosstrek that I took a pretty fat loan out on when I made the purchase in 2021. It is 4-year loan, so I still have about a year and a half of payments left, totaling about $11,000. Carvana is giving me a pretty generous estimate, something like $21,000. Assuming that is a sound estimate, there is roughly $10K equity in the car. If I wanted to take advantage of this offer, would it be as simple as paying off the rest of the auto loan to the bank to acquire the title, then selling the car to Carvana? Am I missing anything special here?

2024.05.21 17:12 ASpookyDog A Mega Man Retrospective - Mega Man Zero 3

Hi there!
We're nearly done with the Zero series now. After the next post, these updates may slow down a bit, as it seems the ZX games are a lot longer, being full-on Metroidvania style titles. We'll see.
In the meantime, here's my retrospective on Zero 3, a game that honestly blew me away a little!

Mega Man Zero 3
I was told, repeatedly, that this was the Zero game. Since starting this series, it’s been hyped up to me to an extent that I was worried it couldn’t possibly live up to expectations.
I am thrilled to report that those worries were unfounded.
Mega Man Zero 3 is the culmination of everything that’s been good about the Zero series up to now, with almost none of the drawbacks. The Elf system has been updated to allow you to use up to two of the little guys without tanking your rank, creating a risk/reward customization system that lets you play as you like. Do you want more health? More firepower? A larger combo? Some free health pickups? It’s up to you. The game also introduces a sort of “easy mode” path for beginners in the form of Cyber Space, a version of each level that activates every Elf you’ve collected and has enemies drop tons of health at the cost of rank.
You can now obtain various parts for your body as you defeat bosses, which unlock everything from the ability to auto-charge, double-jump, and more. You can mix and match these upgrades as you see fit. EX Skills are still rough to get on your first playthrough, but I’ve grown on the system a bit. This game does have Elves that will boost you to A-rank for free in a level, and I decided to use them to get a few of the abilities. I can sorta see why they’re locked behind good play—a few of them are, quite frankly, game-bustingly good.
Gameplay-wise, the game is as smooth as ever. There are more bosses this time around, and each one is a blast to fight. The level design is fantastic, and they’ve even introduced a mechanic that pans the camera to make navigating certain hazards easier on the GBA’s tiny screen. I will say that I started a NG+ run and intend to go back and finish it, as this game scratches the itch that games like Metroid: Zero Mission have left in me (that being the need to replay and tear through the game as fast as possible, and—in this case—maximize my rank).
But what I really want to talk about here is the story.
Mega Man Zero 3 takes the narrative structure of Zero 1 and 2 and cranks it up to 11. We have a new stand-in for Dr. Wily, whose character basically amounts to “What if Dr. Wily were like… y’know, a villain? With actual cunning, and the ability to outsmart the good guys with a sinister edge that makes him threatening?” The story is a bit simple, but that doesn’t make it any less effective. You’ll see alliances tested, our heroes brought to their lowest, and a classic overarching theme of hope prevailing over it all. There are some twists and turns, especially by the end, that had me hootin’ and hollerin’. I wouldn’t dare spoil those here. But to those in the know: yes, the last fight is incredible. The ending pays off in a way that feels extremely satisfying.
For me to sit here and sing praises for the storyline in a Mega Man game is not something I expected to do when starting this series. I kinda want to write a full-on review for it, but I suspect I have nothing new to bring to the table that hasn’t been discussed to death by now.
This may be a knee-jerk reaction, and I’d like to sit with it a bit (and finish Zero 4 and the ZX games) before really solidifying this opinion, but for now? I think I can safely say that Zero 3 is peak Mega Man. The game design is as good as it’s ever been, and the story really took me by surprise. I cannot imagine it going any higher from here, but I’d love to be proven wrong.
10/10

2024.05.21 17:08 Calm-Conclusion-5094 Looking for RESPECTFUL advice and opinions

Again, like the title says, please don't be rude. I am genuinely just looking to get answers - everything online is pretty conflicting.
I graduated from a top public college that is also in the t14 - but due to financially supporting myself starting around 17, so working full time in college, and being diagnosed with a chronic illness my first semester and having extreme mental health impacts from the full time work + chronic illness - I graduated with a 3.2. I had multiple internships, worked two jobs at a time, and my grades improved over time - so I started low and brought it up. I landed a job with TFA in NYC with early childhood but due to an extremely rare and tragic event involving a student I left the program, again this was early childhood so I am sure you can only imagine what a tragic experience involving a student was like.
I took some time to really consider why I wanted to do TFA and what I wanted to do with my life. I did TFA because I went to a low income public school and I felt immense internal pressure to give back and be a teacher for students that some of my teachers were for me - they were the only reason I had been able to go to the college I did, etc. etc. But I realized education was not my passion - it was just what I felt like I needed to do. I interned on a campaign and as a legislative assistant in college and ended up finding employment in a top campaign finance position, not gonna give a lot of details there, but pretty prestigious. And I LOVE the work, but more than that I became extremely interested in the legal work that goes on behind campaign finance, corporate law, litigation, etc. So, I started studying for the LSAT, I am taking it in June because I at least want the opportunity to take it with the games.
I plan to not apply to law school until I am at least at a 168-170. I will have had about 2, maybe 3 years, of work experience. Planning to connect with the firms that I currently work with, networking access I already have from undergrad with current lawyers, etc.
I am also going to start reaching out to schools right after I take the test in June and start exhibiting interest in their school, certain programs they have, current students and alum the admissions office can connect me with, etc.
I plan to write one addendum for my GPA, but have been told not to write two (the second would be for my TFA experience). I plan to tie that into my personal statement somehow.
By the time I apply I will be 3+ years past my undergrad gpa, and 2+ years past my TFA experience - hoping to display that my life is on an upward trajectory or that I at least have the health and tools in my life to be successful, as I am currently successful in my position. Additionally, I expect to receive a promotion prior to applying.
What are your thoughts on my possibilities? Do I seem like one massive red flag? Please please please be nice. I have experienced a lot of personal and health related trauma that has greatly impacted who I was and what I was able to accomplish. I have also worked my ass off to just pay to support myself - it was not easy, and yes other things fell into the backseat due to this. I Just want honest, RESPECTFUL opinions from people that know much more about the process.

2024.05.21 17:04 Stupid_Fucking_Bird Recent MFA graduate w/ professional credits. How they hell do I break into Higher Education?

The title more or less explains it but to give more detail, I am a 29 year old theatre actor with professional credits on my resumé in regional theatre. Currently living in DC and performing in DC's Drunk Shakespeare while planning a move with my fiancé to NYC. We are both from the City originally and she's lining up a job for herself as a public school teacher in Brooklyn. I earned my Master's in Fine Arts in the field of Classical Acting from GW and Shakespeare Theatre Company this past January.
I have been continuously applying to adjunct positions in higher ed for about the past year. My dream situation is a parallel career in academia and the arts with the end goal of a full-time professorship allowing me to do Shakespeare in the summers. I know this goal will require me to work hard and I am; I'm continuously auditioning, performing, and I'm adding to my teaching resumé through teaching artist work. My problem is I cannot seem to make the jump from working as a teaching artist--primarily teaching 3rd-5th graders--to higher education. No matter how many applications I send out I just can't seem to get my foot in the door. I'm qualified, educated, professional, and I truly believe I would make a fantastic acting teacher at an undergraduate level. How in the world do I break into this field? Are my teaching credits with younger students meaningless? I'm trying to find ways to work with increasingly older students but frankly the vast majority of the opportunities are with the littles. Truly any advice from someone who has done this or knows someone who has done this would be appreciated. What aren't I doing that I should be doing?

2009 Highlander limited 220k
Looking for a used suv & I found this on car gurus for 5900. Car has 1 owner, clean title & no accidents reported. Looks clean in the pictures. Car is $400 below average market value. Does this look like a good deal? I’m in the east coast area NY,NJ just to give an insight on the market for those who may know. Should I go test drive it & have PPI inspection done to check for rust under car? Car is at dealership not private seller. Any comments would be appreciated

2024.05.21 16:50 rr24bk State of the Subreddit 2024

Hello, everyone.
The state of the subreddit post is an annual-ish post to review our rules and give you a chance to give the mods feedback on how things are run here.
First, please take a moment and review the subreddit rules.
Next, thank you for coming here for support in your Shipt shopper journey! We have many wonderful members here who are happy to offer advice and support.

Housekeeping

All posts in this subreddit are manually approved. If you post during daytime hours in the US, they are generally approved within 1-2 hours. If you post overnight, the mods may be sleeping and not approve things until morning. All posts will be reviewed within 24 hours. Please do not repost your posts multiple times, just be patient. We have to do this because many of the rules violations occur in screenshots and auto mod can't find violations in images. If you need an immediate answer to a question, you can always join us on Discord.
Over 50% of the posts that are submitted here break rule 5, which is CENSOR PERSONAL INFORMATION. When you make a post, you need to black out the order number, masked phone numbers, customer addresss, and anything else that can be used to tie the image back to you in real life. The best way to do this is to use your markup tool to place a solid box over the information. Don't use the highlighter or scribble with a 0.1" pencil. If even a single digit of any of the numbers can be read the post will be rejected.
Context. Your post title needs to describe the post in 3 or more words. If you are posting an image, you need to add at least a sentence to explain why you are posting it. Don't post "This sucks" with a picture of a tip or an offer card and nothing else. Explain why it sucks instead of getting angry when others tell you it doesn't suck because they don't have all the information.
Be civil in posts and comments. So many times I read a post in the mod queue that has me nodding along and then it ends with an over-the-top rude comment directed at the customestore/other shoppers. Make your point without making a personal attack. If you do see a personal attack in the subreddit, report the comment to the mods and we'll take it down. You don't need to reply back and start a war. Being civil also applies to modmail messages. If you messages the mods to harass them you will be permanently banned from the sub. Mods do not discuss bans with members, so don't modmail us and ask if so-and-so was banned for their comments. Finally, if you message the mods directly, your message will be ignored.

Recent Changes

  1. As our subreddit grows, so does the number of trolls who target us. Posts and comments may be removed automatically for age and karma reasons. These posts and comments are still reviewed and the legit ones are approved.
  2. No more dildo/condom posts. These are a modding nightmare and we just don't have time to constantly monitor them. Yes, you can get sex toys at Target. Some people tip and some people don't. You're a grown-up. Either take the order or move on.

Future Changes

Now it's your chance to give feedback to your mods. What types of posts do you like? What types of posts do you dislike? Are there rules you think should be changed or added?
It's also been over a year since the FAQ has been updated and we all know that Shipt is constantly changing things so if you have any suggestions as to what should be changed there please comment with those as well. None of the mods are in California, so if anyone wants to write up an FAQ about Prop-22 rules and such from an insider prospective that would be appreciated as well.
Thank you everyone!

2024.05.21 16:07 Raptcher Blender Killed My MB?

Hello all!
Apologize for the click-baity title, but I am pulling my hair out atm trying to figure out what the eff is wrong with my system.
Original System Specs:
5950x all core OC at 4.6
Gallahad AIO
3080 10GB
Asus ROG STRIX B450-F
128 GB ram at 3200
M.2 500 GB for OS
M.2 2 TB for games
850 gold power supply
Temps never reached above 80C on either CPU or GPU
Backstory:
I am learning blender, specifically fluid sims and while trying to export a particularly intense sim blender kept crashing after an hour or two of exporting. Thought nothing of it and went to start over when the whole system started crashing. Everything I read pointed to faulty drivers as I couldn't even open blender without a crash.
So I replaced the GPU with a 4080super, fresh installed all the drivers, and still the system crashed.
After deeper troubleshooting my 5950x no longer was stable at 4.6 and wouldn't even accept a 4.0 all core OC (tested via OCCT). So I went back to stock. And while I no longer got system crashes. However during heavy gaming load, I would get INCREDIBLE frame stutters, like 3-5 seconds worth. Monitoring via OCCT showed the clock would drop to 400 Hz range during the stutters.
SO... I took the 4080super back, :'( , and exchanged it for a new 5950x. Again try an all core OC of 4.6 however again nothing is taking and so I set it back to stock and set core voltage to 1.325 and no stutters.
HOORAY FIXED!
OR SO I THOUGHT
I attempted to up the clocks, as my sims were taking even longer for less intensive sims, by increasing the voltage to 1.375 and BAM, I get the frame stutters from hell again. I drop the voltage back down to 1.325, and even auto, but to no avail as the stutter is here to stay.
CONCLUSION:
Since the temps of both never crested 80C, it isn't thermal throttling. At this point it has to be the motherboard, right?!
What else is there as I have stability tested the ram with no faults. And I am nowhere near pulling enough watts to overload my 850 power supply. I think the voltage is the tip-off but someone smarter can hopefully correct me.
TLDR
Blender crashes -> Massive frame stutters in intense game situations
Changed GPU bu was still getting them
Changed CPU and set core voltage to 1.325 and was all good, but after pushing core voltage above 1.35 the stutters came back and no amount of messing with core voltage is fixing it

2024.05.21 15:30 rundrueckigeraffe I'm feeling bad for not really playing anymore

I played this game on release alot. After 2-3 months i kinda stopped. Came back sometimes to do some stuff, played the DLC, and checked some hollidayevents. but prob. 300/390h played happened in the first few months.
And right now i try to play more again, but getting bored pretty quickly. Like there is nothing really to do in this game, beside decorate your island and houses. I really wanna play and enjoy AC again, but ot feels like NH is over and i should just stop. I didnt finished the DLC, because its boring for me to decorate random houses, or some facilitys that just looks nice but are on a different island and have no use at all.
I dunno, but im kinda disappointed that this game so focused on designing, rather then anything else, what was so fun in previous titles.
And because NH dont "kick" anymore i kinda feel bad, because i really like the Franchise and want to play it right now, but i cant enjoy it. So i dont know if i just should stop and wait for the next game (pls next year) or still playing it.
There are some moments i enjoy it, but most of the time im feeling like "why am i doing this?" Or "why i should change my island".

2024.05.21 13:56 Aegiale Access grant automatically revokes after 2 weeks; sharer cannot find out why, please help?

The person sharing the document with me says they've shared it with me the same way they've shared it with at least 10 others. The rest of the group has been having access to the file for months on end. About 6 weeks ago the document was shared with me (through a link, without having to log in) and these past weeks I had to ask for access again (twice) precisely two weeks after it was granted.
I am not familiar with, nor using this service myself, other than being on the receiving end of being granted access to a file. Still I thought I'd ask here to try and figure this out, because this person is super busy and doesn't seem to be able to find out why "my" access seems to behave different than the rest of the group having access to the same file.
I've seen a screenshot of the list of "People with access" and next to my email address there's a drop-down menu item which the title "Editor". Should the option for the length of the access grant be there? Or could it be somewhere else?
I know this is a stretch, because I'm not the one trying to grant access to someone, but I hope to find a little help here still, if possible.
I first asked this question in googledocs and received this answer:
I've never heard of auto-expiring or time-limited access and I've not seen anyone reporting this issue. However this is the Google Docs sub so not exactly the place to ask admin questions. If this feature does exist is would be for paid accounts so try or or better yet, ask your workspace admin.
However more likely is that someone (anyone with Editor access) changed the access settings to remove your email plus access by link sharing option and it just happens that this was two weeks ago
This was my answer to that person:
Thanks for your answers.
As to the first one, I will ask my question in the suggested subs and unfortunately there is no workspace admin in this situation. The person that does the granting of access doesn't understand why this is happening.
As for the second answer, the thing is, my email address was not removed. I mean, I email the person that granted access the moment I find out I don't have access anymore (=Google asks to log in) and they showed me a screenshot that my email address is still in the list, so not gone.
Is there anyone here that recognizes what I'm describing?

2024.05.21 13:47 Kraftndinner Help me convince my brother to move from Seattle to NYC

Hello FoodNYC, edited the title lol - I’ve been on a 2 year plan to slowly convince my brother to move from Seattle to NYC. The last stages are to show him what NYC food has to offer over Seattle. I’m looking to wow him so much that he will pack his bags and move here.
Some helpful guidelines: - Appreciates good quality/price but won’t mind paying more if food is exceptional - Preference for Asian cuisines but open to most cuisines - Vietnamese Canadian and grew up in Montreal, I don’t think I’ll win any points on viet food sadly (heavy foodie scene) - Will be based out of South Brooklyn area for the duration of the trip but will travel to any borough for the right spot
On his last trip, he did quite like Xiang Hotpot in Brooklyn and Xian Famous Foods but I think there is more to offer.
I’ve done a good degree of research and have landed on some front runners but looking to polish up the list.
Here is what I got so far, open to any suggestions, let me know what I’m missing here?

As we develop the Hultrix C++ SDK, we are creating proof of concepts for various features found in Qt6 to evaluate their feasibility and potential inclusion in our own toolkit.
This is test7.cpp, a study to determine what it would take to build a QML parser. As you can see, it didn't take much effort at all. Granted this is not full featured.

2024.05.21 11:37 raginnation999 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado now with homologation approval; gas-only with no diesel?

Autoindustriya article
Based on LTO homologation documents, the new Prado will be available with the 2.4 turbo non-hybrid (replacing the 4.0 V6), but interestingly, no homologation (yet) for a 2.8 turbodiesel variant to replace the diesel Prado variants. Also, with the 2.4 gas being available at least, all variants will no longer benefit from JPEPA tax breaks. This could make Toyota's job in pricing the Prado to not get close to the LC300. Then again, it will still fly off the shelves even if it is close in price to an LC300. Thoughts?

  1. Assess Your Vehicle's Value: The first step in earning top cash for your car is to accurately assess its value. Factors such as make, model, year, mileage, and condition all play a role in determining the price you can expect to receive. Utilize online valuation tools or consult with professionals like Wreckery to get an accurate estimate.
  2. Prepare Your Car for Sale: Before putting your car on the market, take the time to clean it thoroughly and make any necessary repairs or improvements. A well-maintained vehicle is more likely to fetch a higher price and attract potential buyers.
  3. Gather Documentation: Collect all relevant paperwork for your car, including the title, service records, and any warranties or receipts for recent repairs. Having these documents readily available can streamline the selling process and instill confidence in potential buyers.
  4. Choose the Right Selling Method: When it comes to selling your car in Brisbane, you have several options, including private sales, dealerships, and car buying services like Wreckery. Consider the pros and cons of each method and choose the one that best suits your needs and preferences.

  6. Negotiate Wisely: When negotiating the price of your car, be prepared to stand firm on your asking price while also being open to reasonable offers. Avoid being overly aggressive or overly accommodating, and focus on finding a mutually beneficial agreement.
  7. Be Transparent: Honesty is the best policy when selling your car. Be upfront about any issues or flaws with your vehicle, as trying to conceal them can backfire and damage your reputation as a seller.
  8. Timing is Key: Keep in mind that market conditions can affect the price you can expect to receive for your car. Consider factors such as seasonality, economic conditions, and demand for your specific make and model when timing your sale for maximum profit.
  9. Consider Additional Services: Some car buying services, like Wreckery, offer additional services such as free towing, same-day payment, and assistance with paperwork. Taking advantage of these services can save you time and hassle and ensure a smooth selling experience.
  10. Follow Through: Once you've agreed on a price and finalized the sale, be sure to follow through on your end of the deal. Transfer the title and ownership of the vehicle promptly, and ensure that all necessary paperwork is completed correctly.
