Using the Mustad Carolina Rig Assorted Fishing Hook Kit in my local river was a game-changer. The variety in sizes and materials of the hooks in the kit allowed me to test out different techniques with ease. They were well-made and sturdy, allowing me to catch several fish with just a few modifications to my lure.
However, I encountered a slight challenge when trying to attach the weight to the hook. The connection wasn't as smooth as I'd hoped, and it took a bit more time to get it right. The kit also lacked instructions, which might have made this process easier for a beginner.
Despite these small setbacks, the Carolina Rig Assorted Fishing Hook Kit made my fishing experience more enjoyable and versatile. Its array of hooks and additional accessories made it a valuable tool for both new and experienced anglers looking to spice up their fishing techniques.

I've been fishing with the Carolina Ready Rig for a few weeks now and it's been a game changer. As a seasoned angler, I appreciate how effortlessly this rig eliminates the need for hunting around my tackle box for small components. Top Brass Tackle has really thought this through, from the precise brass weight to the no-fuss 10 mm glass bead.
One aspect I particularly enjoy is how the design makes my fishing sessions much easier. No more struggling with bead placement or dealing with broken beads after a few casts. This rig is an excellent option for both novice and experienced anglers alike. Plus, the durability of the brass sinker and stainless steel wire leader makes it perfect for salt and freshwater fishing.
The only small con was that initially, the shiny brass finish on the sinker changed color after a few weeks in saltwater. But overall, I've been really happy with this Carolina Ready Rig. It's made my fishing sessions more efficient and enjoyable, and I look forward to catching more fish with it.

As an avid fisherman, I've tried a variety of rigging kits to snag the biggest catches. Eagle Claw's 52 Piece Carolina Rigging Kit is a game-changer. Its attention to detail and quality is clear from the moment you unpack the kit.
From sliding sinkers that slip through even the thickest weeds to ball-bearing swivels, this Carolina rig kit delivers on its promises. My personal favorite - the fish-catching noise it produces - is truly remarkable. It's helped me snag more fish than I've ever caught before.
That being said, the one area where it could be improved is the labeling of the sinkers by weight. Even though the variety of weights is great, it would be more helpful if they were marked clearly. Also, if you're in an area where lead sinkers are not allowed, this might not be the kit for you.
Overall, Eagle Claw's Carolina Rigging Kit is a fantastic addition to any fishing gear collection. It's a go-to for catfish and bass enthusiasts alike.

đź”—6th Sense Carolina Pre Rig 3/8oz - Efficient Bass Fishing Solution

https://preview.redd.it/mco5ezq02d1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cc84a547060350752e78dc3c5f69f9aa0cd2b5aa
As someone who has spent countless hours on the water, the 6th Sense Carolina Pre Rig 3/8oz has been a game-changer for me. After dealing with the frustrations of rigging my Carolina Rig and dealing with the constant break-offs, I decided to give this pre-rig a try.
One of the biggest highlights for me has been the time-saving aspect. With the pre-rigged hook, I can spend more time casting and reeling in fish instead of tying knots and fiddling with excess weight. Not only does it save time, but it has significantly reduced the number of break-offs I've experienced, keeping my line intact and increasing my chances of landing a big one.
The durability of this pre-rig is also top-notch. The flexible wire has allowed me to drag it through every type of structure without getting hung up, giving me the freedom to focus on the fish rather than worrying about losing my rig. Plus, the fact that it comes in three different sizes and two different metals (lead and tungsten) means there's an option for any fishing situation.
Of course, nothing is perfect, and I did encounter a minor drawback when switching between lead and tungsten options. The switch required me to remove the weight and reattach it, which took a bit of extra time. However, this small inconvenience is easily outweighed by the benefits this pre-rig provides. Overall, I'd highly recommend the 6th Sense Carolina Pre Rig 3/8oz to anyone looking to save time, reduce break-offs, and increase their chances of catching bass.

đź”—Carolina Ready Rig Hook for Sensitive Baits

In my experience, the Top Brass Carolina Ready Rig has been a game-changer. I remember the first time I used it, it was a chilly morning and I was struggling to put together a Carolina rig, but these pre-assembled ones made my life so much easier. Each rig is made with brass, glass beads, and Pro-Tickers, which together create a loud and attention-grabbing presence in the water.
The best part for me? No more fumbling with beads and weights in cold weather. Each rig comes already assembled and ready to use, saving me a considerable amount of time. Plus, they're built strong and sturdy, holding up well even in challenging fishing conditions.
However, there was one downside I noticed. On a couple of occasions, the wires seemed to bend easily, causing some issues in the line. But overall, the pros outweighed the cons, and I would definitely recommend this product to anyone looking for an efficient and reliable Carolina rig solution.

đź”—Quality Carolina Live Bait King Rig for Tournament Fishermen

https://preview.redd.it/tbvz3ym12d1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=98019d2d98805ebd77a3d041090271937c8222e6
Using the Sea Striker Carolina Live Bait King Rig has been a game-changer in my fishing adventure. The slow troll rig is perfect for tournament fishermen like myself, with its bronze hooks that are professionally snelled with 60 lb. camo coated wire. The live bait size 2/0 nose hook and the 4X Eagle Claw size 4 treble hooks have proved reliable and sturdy during my fishing trips.
Model LBR has one treble hook and model DLBR has two treble hooks, both variations offering different options depending on your fishing needs. The leader is neatly finished off with a size 7 barrel swivel, ensuring smooth and stable action. This rig also comes with an optional ultra mylar duster, which adds an extra layer of attractiveness for the fish.
While using the Sea Striker Carolina Live Bait King Rig, I found some pros and cons in my experience. The pros were the reliable hooks, the versatility of having two different treble hook models, and the option to add the ultra mylar duster for additional attraction. However, the cons were the lack of information on the product specs and minimal user reviews. Despite these minor drawbacks, the Sea Striker Carolina Live Bait King Rig remains a trusty tool in my fishing arsenal.

đź”—Complete Carolina Rig Kit for Ultimate Fishing Experience

When I first received the Crme Lure Carolina Rig Kit, I was impressed by its compact, organizer-like nature, designed to keep all the lures and rigging in one place. The variety of colors available in the lures made me excited to see how they'd perform in the water. On my first fishing trip with this kit, I encountered a rather small bass. Although it wasn't a monster catch, I managed to hook it using a Carolina rig from this kit.
One downside I encountered was the difficulty in finding the appropriate rigging components. The instructions provided were quite detailed, but they seemed to be written for an audience with more experience in fishing. Nevertheless, I managed to work it out with a bit of trial and error.
The lures themselves performed quite well, with different types of lures attracting diverse species of fish. However, they did have a tendency to get snagged on underwater debris, which was a bit of a setback.
Despite the initial challenges, I found the Crme Lure Carolina Rig Kit to be a versatile and durable tool for improving my fishing skills. As a beginner, it was great to have a handy reference in the form of a comprehensive guide. Additionally, the rigging components were high-quality and seemed to withstand the test of time.
In summary, the Carolina Rig Lure Kit is an excellent selection for novice or experienced fishermen who want to enhance their skills with a variety of rigging options. The kit offers great value with a plethora of lures and rigging components, and I'd definitely recommend it. Just remember to keep an eye out for potential rigging fumbles and stay patient when it comes to using instructions.

đź”—Owner Rig N Hook - High-Quality Fishing Equipment for Your Adventures

https://preview.redd.it/0jpq4oo22d1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=02d5ffaad0253e6af824b814a1b70752deac0c9d
I had the opportunity to try out Owner Rig N Hook while fishing for my daily catch. As an avid fisherman, I've used various hooks in the past, but this one stood out for its unique features and incredible performance.
One of the most noticeable aspects of Owner Rig N Hook is its sharp and sturdy cutting point. It's designed to provide a strong and reliable hookset, ensuring that my catch does not escape. The black chrome finish not only adds a touch of elegance but also offers enhanced corrosion resistance, which is perfect for my trips to the lake.
The short shank on these hooks is particularly useful when working with plastics that have a short but thick profile, such as spider grubs or creature baits. The wide gap and heavy wire make it an ideal choice for Texas RigN and Carolina RigN, as well as Split ShotN techniques.
However, I did notice that these hooks tend to straighten more often than other hooks. While it's not a major issue, it's something to keep in mind when using them, especially for larger fish.
Overall, Owner Rig N Hook has become a staple in my tackle box. It provides a reliable and efficient hookset, making my fishing experiences all the more enjoyable. The high-quality materials and design make it a worthwhile investment for any avid fisherman.

The Carolina Ready Rig is a game-changer in the world of fishing. This sturdy and easy-to-use rig is made with Top Brass's brass weights, glass beads, and Pro-Tickers, creating the loudest rig any fisherman has ever heard. The combination of these materials results in a perfect Carolina rig that can withstand even the toughest fishing conditions.
One of the biggest highlights of this product is the time it saves. Gone are the days of digging out beads and weights, as the Top Brass Carolina Ready Rig is already pre-rigged and ready to go. The rigs are simple to use and make attaching lures a breeze, saving valuable time on the water. However, the wire on these rigs can be delicate and may bend easily, causing some problems.
Despite this minor issue, the Top Brass Carolina Ready Rig is a top-quality product that is designed to last. The materials are of high quality and the pricing is reasonable, making these rigs accessible to all. Overall, the Carolina Ready Rig is an excellent choice for anyone looking to catch more fish with less hassle.

In my experience, the Strike King EZ-Rig Carolina Rig Sinker has been a game-changer in my fishing trips. The convenience of having everything pre-rigged has saved me a lot of valuable fishing time. The glass beads not only produce a rattling sound that attracts fish, but they also add a flashy appearance that helps to make a big impact.
The stainless steel wire ensures that the rig will hold up even after multiple uses. The environmentally friendly brass weights are also a huge plus, as they add the right amount of weight without causing any harm to the environment.
The rig is compact and easy to carry, making it a top choice for anyone looking for a quick and simple set-up. Overall, the Strike King Lures Carolina Rig Weight has been a lifesaver for me during my fishing adventures.

đź”—Proven Carolina Rig Kit for Fishing Success

I recently tried out Karl's Stash Carolina Rig Kit, and I must say, it was quite the experience. As someone who's always on the lookout for a good fishing setup, this kit caught my eye with its promise of a tried and true fish catching system.
The first thing that struck me was the design of the rig itself. Its heavy power, coupled with a moderate fast action, provided me with an unexpected amount of precision and control. The line, which was perfect for a weight range of 14-20lb Fluorocarbon or Monofilament, held up incredibly well under the strain of my fishing escapades.
However, there were a couple of aspects that I didn't quite gel with. For one, the brass weights seemed a bit outdated compared to the tungsten ones I've gotten used to. Another minor inconvenience was the large weights that sometimes bogged down in the sand, making retrieval a smidgen more difficult.
Despite these minor setbacks, I found myself consistently landing good catches with the help of this rig. Its simple, yet effective design makes it a great choice for both beginners and experienced fishers alike. I highly recommend giving it a try if you're looking to spice up your fishing experience. After all, the proof of the pudding is in the catching, and this rig sure does catch!

đź”—Easy-to-use Carolina Rig for Fishing

I've been using the Top Brass Carolina Ready Rigs for my fishing trips, and I must say, they've made my life so much easier. The brass weights, glass beads, and Pro-Tickers create a loud, fish-enticing rig that is ready to use right out of the box.
One thing that stood out to me was the sturdiness of the rig. It's a well-made product that can handle the rough and tumble of a day on the water. I also appreciated the ease of use - it's a simple, straightforward rig that's perfect for those times when I don't want to spend a lot of time on prep work.
That being said, there were a couple of downsides as well. Occasionally, the wire would bend easily, causing issues with the rig. And while the one bead not three thing was a minor inconvenience, it was nothing that couldn't be fixed with a quick trip to the hardware store or a little bit of DIY ingenuity.
All in all, the Top Brass Carolina Ready Rigs are a solid choice for any angler looking to make their fishing trips a little easier. They're well-made, easy to use, and a great time-saver.

đź”—Easy-Adjust Carolina Rig Hook - 8 Pack

https://preview.redd.it/bmtk1qm42d1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=162f42597c9b1c4be84f4e657f959ac4ec8baff5
I recently started using the Carolina Keeper 8 pack and I must say it has greatly improved my fishing experience. What stands out in my experience is how easy and convenient it is to tie that one knot instead of the three that I used to need. It eliminates the swivel and simplifies the process of adjusting the leader length. The keeper even works well for different types of fish like striper, hybrid, trout, and all saltwater species.
One of the pros of using this product is the ease of setting up the Carolina rig. It saves a lot of time and effort compared to using a swivel and tying knots. However, a minor con that I've encountered is that the keeper may slide down the line if you're using heavy weights, especially in heavier currents.
Overall, the Carolina Keeper is an excellent product that has made the Carolina rig setup convenient and efficient. Despite the minor drawback, the pros definitely outweigh the cons, and I highly recommend it to any angler looking to improve their fishing game.

Buyer's Guide

Welcome to the buyer's guide section for Carolina Rig Hooks. In this guide, we will discuss the important features to consider when purchasing a Carolina Rig Hook, as well as general advice to help you make the best choice for your needs. Let's dive in and explore this exciting category of fishing tackle.

https://preview.redd.it/v9hpgd082d1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a0d0f981f7c801238e40ebdd5b8fc77734e7ff62

Features to Consider

  1. Material: Look for hooks made from high-quality materials like premium stainless steel or titanium. These materials provide long-lasting durability and excellent performance in different fishing conditions. Steel hooks are stronger and more resistant to corrosion, while titanium hooks are lighter and more durable.
  2. Size and Weight: Choose a hook size that matches the lure and the intended target fish. The weight of the hook also plays a role in its functionality, as heavier hooks will be more effective in deeper waters or when targeting larger fish. Make sure to select a size that provides a proper balance of hook size, weight, and grip.
  3. Shape: The hook shape can affect its performance and catch rate. Most Carolina Rig Hooks are designed with a J-hook or a Sickle hook. J-hooks provide better hookup ratios, while Sickle hooks are more effective in maintaining their position in the mouth of the fish during the fight.
  4. Strength: Look for hooks with strong shanks and welding points to ensure they can hold up to the demands of fishing. Quality hooks are designed to withstand the wear and tear of being submerged in water and dealing with aggressive fish.
  5. Finish: The hook's finish plays a role in its durability, appearance, and attractiveness to fish. Chrome, silver, and black finishing options are available, with each providing its own unique benefits.

Additional Considerations

  1. Price: There is a wide range of prices for Carolina Rig Hooks, from affordable options to premium picks. Determine your budget and consider how much you want to spend on this essential fishing accessory.
  2. Brand Reputation: Research different brands to determine their reputation for quality, performance, and customer support. Positive reviews and experiences from fellow anglers can help you make an informed decision.
  3. Warranty and Return Policy: Look for brands that offer warranties and return policies that provide peace of mind in case you need to replace or return your hook.

General Advice

  1. Always inspect your hooks before using them, checking for any signs of damage, rust, or weak points that could impair their performance.
  2. Store your hooks properly to prevent damage and ensure their longevity. Protective cases or storage boxes with UV-resistant materials are ideal for storing your hooks.
  3. Experiment with different hook sizes, shapes, and finishes to find the perfect combination for your fishing style and target species.
By considering the features discussed in this guide, you can make an informed decision when purchasing a Carolina Rig Hook. Remember to prioritize the material, size, weight, shape, strength, and finish that best suit your needs and budget. With these factors in mind, you can enjoy successful fishing adventures and reap the rewards of your well-prepared tackle box.

What is a Carolina rig hook?

A Carolina rig hook is a specific type of fishing hook designed for use with the Carolina rig, a widely popular fishing technique in the Southeastern United States. These hooks are typically made of strong, durable materials and are suitable for catching a variety of freshwater fish, such as bass, catfish, and sunfish.

What makes a Carolina rig hook different from other fishing hooks?

There are a few key differences between a Carolina rig hook and other fishing hooks: 1. They have a slightly different shape, typically featuring a straight body with two wide gaps between the shank and the eye. 2. Carolina rig hooks are designed to be fished with a heavy sinker attached to a leader, which allows the hook to sink quickly through the water column. 3. They can be used with live bait or artificial lures, making them versatile for various fishing scenarios.

https://preview.redd.it/fgj539892d1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cb1812ba6a34075f7164a85e09ded35585b83170

What materials are Carolina rig hooks made of?

Carolina rig hooks are usually made from high-quality metal alloys, such as steel or tungsten, as these materials offer superior strength and durability. Some hooks may also incorporate nickel, titanium, or other coatings to improve their anti-corrosion properties.

What are the benefits of using a Carolina rig hook?

  • Increased durability and strength, allowing for more successful catches.
  • Ability to be used with a wide range of baits and lures, making it a versatile tool.
  • The heavy sinker attached to the leader allows the hook to reach deeper water levels and target larger fish species.
  • The hook's shape enables it to penetrate the fish's mouth more effectively, increasing the chances of successful hookups.

How do I rig a Carolina rig hook?

To rig a Carolina rig, follow these steps: 1. Thread the leader onto the rod or line, with the heavier end at the bottom. 2. Slide on a sinker, adjusting the weight according to the depth and current conditions. 3. Attach the Carolina rig hook to the leader, with the loop end facing upwards. 4. Add a swivel between the leader and the line to prevent line twist. 5. Tie on your bait or lure, ensuring it is secure and free to move naturally. 6. Cast your line and wait for a bite.

Are Carolina rig hooks compatible with other fishing techniques?

While Carolina rig hooks are specifically designed for use with the Carolina rig, they can also be used with other fishing techniques, such as the bottom bait rig, as long as the correct size and weight are chosen.

What size and weight should I choose for my Carolina rig hook?

The choice of hook size and weight will depend on the type of bait or lure you are using and the target fish species. As a general rule, smaller hooks are suitable for smaller baits and fish, while larger hooks are appropriate for larger baits and fish. When determining the weight, consider the depth and current conditions to ensure the hook sinks properly and is not too heavy or too light for the chosen bait or lure.

2024.05.19 12:32 Fluffy_Tea_1156 Got Soft locked in Act 3 Honor Mode, help!

This is a pretty major bug that I can't seem to find a way around. I think I'm soft-locked in my honor mode run all the way in Act 3. Any help is much appreciated! Here's the scenario, Act 3 spoilers related to Astarion's story line:
Vampires arrived at my camp to fetch Astarion. I tried talking my way out of it but to no avail. It seems like Cazador forces them to fight, so I ended up in combat in my camp. I forgot to turn on Non-Lethal strikes. I cleaned up all the vampires, but one of them, Yousef, just refuses to die even though his HP has been brought down to zero! This means I am stuck in combat forever!
I didn't have Astarion in my party at the time, so I'm not controlling him. I read somewhere that the Risky Ring can sometimes break cutscenes. I fear that that is what might have happened here, as I remember having equipped Astarion with it. But when I went to unequip the ring from him (through the camp Traveller's chest, as that's the only way I can change the gear of a nonparty member), I found that somehow, the ring was already unequipped - he just had an empty ring slot.
People who faced this bug elsewhere have tried things like healing the enemy and then killing them, or turning on Non-Lethal attacks. Well, the former will not work for me as the enemy is an Undead, so I can't heal them. I tried the latter, but it didn't work. I can't even flee the battle, as the combat is happening in my camp!
Does anyone know a way around this? I'm gonna lose an honor run of more than 100 hours because of this soft lock, which is such a bummer.

2024.05.19 12:31 GuaranteeIcy6681 Weird lines on my monitor

A little over a year ago I bought a new PC, and after 3-4 months of owning it, I installed a game and when I opened it, some weird white lines appeared on my monitor screen and the pc just started to reboot, so I gave the pc back to the guy that I bought it from and he said it was fine, so I bring it home and again, those lines appeared, so I give him the pc back again and he again says it's perfectly fine, so I thought it was the monitor that's broken so I switched monitors with my friend and again, the lines appeared, but the monitor I gave to my friend, is working perfectly fine, has anyone had this kind of problem? Pls let me know I don't know what to do.

2024.05.19 12:29 Johann_Blackadder Guidance in Designing a Battery Pack

Hello there. I am a freshman who recently joined a Formula Student EV team. I am working in the accumulator department and I need help with understanding the basics. I would be grateful if you could provide me with some good resources that helped you understand the mechanical and electrical aspects of the accumulator. I have doubts about the design and connections of the busbar. I don't understand how its a single sheet that makes both the series and parallel connections possible. I have searched quite a lot online about the design of busbars but I can't find anything related to the implementation of busbars on cylindrical cells, I just get videos related to prismatic cells, but we don't use those. Can someone please help me out with this?
I have designed the batteries (which took almost no time 🥲) and now I'm facing this issue with understanding this while designing the busbars and cell holders.

2024.05.19 12:29 WeaknessKey6313 All comes falling down

My partner and I are being forced to move out by August 1st. Due to unforeseen circumstances, we have very little time to find a new place. In the worst case scenario, my partner has a place to stay with family, but I currently have no options lined up. I had been working in a gig capacity due to some health issues, and this event has forced me to go into overdrive after being unemployed for about a 6 year gap.
While I don't want to dwell on the details, this situation has left me feeling desperate. Public transportation is limited in my area, and without a car (which I can't afford to insure), my options are further restricted.
My current plan is to aggressively apply for remote work positions. Ideally, the job would allow me to make enough to afford rent in NY within the next 90 days. However, I recognize this might be a challenge.
There's a potential safety net – a friend who recently moved to Texas is trying to sell his house in the San Antonio area. He might allow me to stay there temporarily while the house sells. The appeal is the walkable environment and decent public transportation. But there's a big fear: if I relocate, will I ever make it back to NY?
My partner can stay with family, so at least there's that.
Right now, I'm overwhelmed with fear and uncertainty. Every passing day feels like the pressure is building
All of this, and my partner told me she wants a separation so we can work on ourselves
I'll be homeless, alone for the first time after being in a 15 year relationship, with no money, no friends or family to call on . I can't afford to get to Texas with the 600 dollars I have to my name
At this point I'm just trying to find the most painless way to do it

2024.05.19 12:29 Glad-Hospital6756 I feel like superstore had a couple more seasons in it, I would love to see a sequel

I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately. A sequel centered around Sturgis & Sons that also maintains a Dina’s Fulfillment Center plot line. So say Glenn, Mateo, Cheyenne and Dina be lead bill. Including the employees that would also give us back Sandra, Justine and Marcus.
It was unclear where Jonah and Amy ended up so I’ll say he moved back to Cali with her. Jonah gets the city council job but is ousted by some kind of scandal that he really had nothing to do with, but it was pinned on him. So they move back to St. Louis, maybe Amy takes a demotion to DM so she’s Dina’s direct supervisor now. Newly downtrodden Jonah applies to S&S.
Right there you have a good chunk of the principal cast without stretching the story too thin.
You could even start the first episode through Jonah’s eyes all over again, and how he would manage to still not do any work his first day at his new job lol that said, I personally think Cheyenne should be the new main character. You’d have to tame some of Bo’s traits or remove his character entirely but it would work.

Hi all,
My 2006 Mazda 6 2.3L 4 cylinder (170k miles) has been unhealthy. Symptoms are:
I read a forum post of someone that had similar issues and it ended being a damaged valve spring. I'm going to check them next. But if that doesn't turn up anything, does anyone have any ideas?

2024.05.19 12:28 hello-kitty2009 AITA if I tell my mom to get a life

My (16f) mom (39f) says that I need to start paying rent and doing all her chores. She suffers with back problems and uses that to her advantage even though she line dances yet can’t pick up stuff. I wait on her hand and foot while working a night shift. I only earn about 19k a year whereas her 40k a year. She tells me that I need to have responsibility and act my age. Riled up, I told her to sort out her act and get a life.
It has been 2 days and she has told my whole family. All my family except for my sister (18f) and my grandma (76f) are on my moms side. They all all saying I’m a ah.
AITA?

2024.05.19 12:27 No-Republic7311 Falling off in yr 11

i wanna know if anyones experienced anything similar and how you've managed to overcome this problem. prior to starting vce, my grades were pretty good without putting in much effort. my naplan and pat results put me at basically top 5% statewide, however, my grades have just completely flopped after starting vce. if myself from a couple years ago saw my grades rn, i would probably cry. the only subject ive been doing ok on is english where i got 89 for the first sac and 90 for the second, but for spec, ive gotten 55 (scaled to 61 bcs too many ppl were failing and they had to scale the sac to decrease the amount of redemption tasks handed out) and 70 on the second which was not difficult. i feel like i'm getting a lot of questions which seem like basically free marks wrong and idek how i got my answers, ive lost marks where ive written the entire working out right and just forgot to write the answer (e.g i write 144+36 and just forget to write 180). ive done two sacs for physics, both of which were so bad (52, and 33 scaled to 45 bcs too many ppl were failing.. less redemption tasks), ive decided to just drop the subject entirely. i also had my first general 3/4 sac, which i havent recieved back, but im already aware that i lost a full 7 marks on a question due to drawing a residual plot wrong and they don't give consequential marks for a table following it. out of the two parts of the sac, ive already lost over 9 marks out of 80 which is terrible considering that its the data unit in general math which weighs the most and the subject scales down. i feel like my overall confidence has just died and my motivation to study is rly suffering. i feel like i have rly bad study strategies and idk how to improve. how do i recover?

2024.05.19 12:22 MartechiFalkberg Thoughts to move on happy

I love that death in this story is powerless, that it might not be about her sickness and death at all. ...which is a weird thing to say when things begin with a funeral, but hear me out...
Sometimes stories about death seek a silver-lining by making it meaningful in some way. Death is tragic, but at least it brings people together, or makes characters realize something about themselves, or it serves some higher purpose.
'I want to eat your pancreas', however, feels rather unsparing, uncompromising. The tragedy is put front and center in the very first scene, and it is just awful: In every sense, Sakura's Death comes entirely too soon. It is unfair, it is senseless, it isn't even the inevitability you were expecting. BUT... it is also not the point of the story.
My favorite revelation was learning that Sakura had been interested in Haruki all-along, that him finding out about her sickness was never the only way they could've possibly become close. It's not about the stars aligning, about fate or coincidence making them bump into each other, it's - like she says - about choices. Choices that matter far more than the circumstance.
In the same way the sickness doesn't get to dictate the beginning of their relationship, it also doesn't get to determine the end. Her sickness, even though it's always looming, does not even to spell the end, when her death eventually entirely unrelated to it.
Sakura's last words aren't the final entry into her diary, which is determined by her passing - but instead a message \she\** chose to put at the very end of the book, on her own terms.
Those last words leave nothing unsaid, and alongside the convirmation that she got Haruki's last message, that too makes their choices matter so much more than anything else. So much of Death's tragedy comes down to uncertainty, to unresolved feelings and losing control. But in this story, none of these apply.
Sakura chose to hide her sickness, and in the end only people she absolutely wanted to know ever find out about. She chose to entrust her last messages to someone who could decide when and how to pass them on, and it worked out. Nobody is left with questions about how she felt or what could have been.
Short of cheating death altogether, I can't imagine a more defiant story, or a more victorious ending to it. We get to see, even just in glimpses, the impact her story had on everyone around her. And that isn't a memory of the girl who was sick and died, but the girl who lived and succeeded at everything despite whatever was fated.
[reposted because I was too stupid to avoid spoilers in the title the first time round]
\**Edit: Like most, this story left me wanting to scream into the void, so I might as well post these thoughts here. Of course, none of this is to say the story isn't unbelievably sad or that I wouldn't gladly see the story a thousand times over, with things going differently and avoiding death altogether.*
More than anything, though, I couldn't stand remembering this story as just a gut-wrenching tragedy. I desperately want to return to it and see this beautiful and cute and hopeful side to it, enjoy it without just seeing it as the prelude to something sad.
What I love most about the great works of Makoto Shinkai is how characters defy the supernatural and fates to find together despite everything. And even though 'I want to eat your pancreas' doesn't have a supernatural element to fullfill this happy ending so completely, it still feels like it encompasses much the same spirit.

2024.05.19 12:21 LastWeekInCollapse Last Week in Collapse: May 12-18, 2024

Record temperatures, record migration, record emissions, record displacement, record PFAS……start building an ark.
Last Week in Collapse: May 12-18, 2024
This is Last Week in Collapse, a weekly newsletter compiling some of the most important, timely, useful, soul-crushing, ironic, stunning, exhausting, or otherwise must-see/can’t-look-away moments in Collapse.
This is the 125th newsletter! You can find the May 5-11 edition here if you missed it last week. You can also receive these posts (with images) every Sunday in your email inbox with Substack.
——————————
Flash flooding in northern Afghanistan killed 300+ people and destroyed 1,000+ homes. Hundreds of thousands of others have been affected. Last month, similar floods in the region killed 70+. Four died in Texas storms last week as well.
Venezuela is suffering from record wildfires, which so far this year have burned about 5M acres—almost the size of Sardinia. Some experts think indigenous people started the blaze as an attempt at forest clearance, which quickly got out of hand. “Institutional failures” compounded the disaster when the ailing government responded with an inadequate number of poorly equipped firefighters. Another study from last week examined the impact of wildfires on soil health.
Flooding and “cold lava” killed 50+ in Indonesia, injuring dozens and displacing several thousand. Cold lava is a mixture of water and rocks tumbling down the side of a volcano. Meanwhile, an actual volcano erupted in Indonesia, sending smoke & ash 5000m high; further eruptions are possible soon.
The Swiss Re Institute published a 37-page report last week about natural disasters in 2023—and how much damage, in USD, they caused. The largest catastrophe was the February 7.8 earthquake in Türkiye & Syria, which killed 59,000+ people and caused $163B+ in damage. The report is full of interesting graphics & data about natural disasters.
“Last year, economic losses from natural catastrophes reached USD 280 billion, meaning that 62% of the global losses were uninsured….the insured losses surpassed USD 100 billion for the fourth consecutive year….annual insured losses will grow by 5–7% over the long term…today’s insured losses could double in 10 years….There were 142 insured-loss inducing catastrophes in 2023, a new record. Most were of medium severity, which we define as events resulting in losses of USD 1–5 billion….Over the last 30 years, we estimate that natural catastrophe insured losses have grown by 3 percentage points more annually than the global economy (in inflation adjusted terms)...”
Flooding and heat waves are impacting Brazil’s oranges, responsible for about 70% of the world’s supply. One food analysts declared that the “era of cheap food is over”—in the UK, at least. That may be one reason why UK residents took record food bank packages last year. Madagascar is struggling to adapt to a future with far less rainfall.
France is growing more concerned about a dam on Lake Geneva, controlled exclusively by Switzerland. The Rhône River, which begins in Switzerland and flows south through France, is shrinking in summers as climate change melts Switzerland’s remaining glaciers.
The Tonlé San River has been dammed in Vietnam, lowering the level in Cambodia and sometimes drying the river downstream entirely. Meanwhile, China’s lychee harvest is getting blasted by rain, impacting the world’s largest source of lychee. And, once again, Saudi Arabia is suffering flooding in its inland regions. 7 dead in historic flooding in Iran.
The eminent climate scientist James Hansen posted that, since “human-made aerosols and their cooling effect are in decline,” the cooling effect of La Niña will be counterbalanced by these rising temperatures. He also identifies a “large anomaly of increased absorbed solar radiation at midlatitudes in the Northern Hemisphere” responsible for rising temperatures there. CO2 levels are rising faster today than they have at any point in the previous 50,000 years…and a study of millennia-old trees determined last summer was the hottest worldwide in 2,000+ years…
Record nighttime May temperatures were tied in the Philippines and Vietnam. A couple Indonesian cities broke records for May temperatures. And a number of southern African states saw more records drop. And Toronto saw a record tied for the number of days reaching 14 °C (57 °F). A heat wave has returned to Bangladesh. Flooding in Cali (pop: 2.9M), Colombia.
The University of Washington was ordered to stop a geoengineering project that scientists sere conducting from the deck of a decommissioned aircraft carrier. The experiment ejected aerosolized saltwater in an attempt to reflect solar radiation. A comparative study in Nature Communications of a number of carbon pricing found that, yes, carbon pricing does work to reduce the total CO2 emitted.
It’s that time of the year again. Wildfires in Canada grow, some of which are moving towards the tar sands—forcing thousands to evacuate. 39 of the total nation’s blazes are “out of control,” resulting in air quality alerts in the United States. Meanwhile, across the Caribbean, water shortages have become the new normal, and residents (and tourists) are finding their old consumption habits hard to change. St. Lucia has declared a water emergency. In Myanmar, water shortages worsen, particularly as related to the spiraling conflict.
At least ⅛ of Europeans live in a place at risk of extreme flooding—so says a 175-page report from the European Environment Agency posted on Wednesday. The number of people living in flood-risk coastal areas in the EU & UK is expected to jump 24% by 2050. The graphics-packed report also considers how flooding will impact healthcare facilities, mental health, wastewater treatment plants, the spread of disease, cyanobacteria, permafrost thaw, and much else.
“Europe has seen devastating floods following record rainfall, droughts of magnitudes not experienced in hundreds of years, continuing sea level rise, and increasing lake and sea temperatures….permanent water stress already affects 30% of people in southern Europe….since 2018, more than half of Europe has been impacted by extreme drought conditions….Climate change is expected to increase mercury bioaccumulation in the marine food chain due to rising ocean temperatures, ocean acidification and permafrost thawing….Depression, anxiety and PTSD may persist for years after a flooding event….Under the changing climate, northern Europe is becoming wetter in general, but drier in summer. Southern Europe is becoming drier, especially in winter. For central-eastern and western Europe, the trend is less clear…” -selections from the report
Milan suffered flooding last week, the worst May flooding in 170 years. Early spring in the UK has disrupted migratory bird species and their usual patterns.
A 74-page working paper which is not yet peer-reviewed claims that earlier estimates for how much GDP would be impacted by another 1 °C temperature rise is way less than it would be in actuality. The paper claims the real cost (in USD) is about 6x greater. They claim “global temperature has much more pronounced impacts on economic activity than local temperature” and that extreme weather is mostly behind the projected decline in productivity.
——————————
Epidemiologists are worried about how climate change in Africa may extend the life of disease-bearers like ticks and mosquitoes. Other epidemiologists are worried about how cattle may become a permanent reservoir for H5N1. Growing traced of bird flu have been found in wastewater testing in the U.S., but investigators think it may be runoff from infected dairy farms.
Obesity, high blood sugar, and high blood pressure rates today globally are 50% higher than in 2000—though researchers claim that air pollution still poses a larger threat. Of a study participants in Hawai’i, 75% had respiratory issues, probably from the Maui wildfires last year.
The 2024 World Migration Report is out, and its 384 pages are not as apocalyptic as one might think. However, internally displaced people are at their all-time highest. India, Mexico, Russia, China, and Syria lead the world in emigrants; another document contains the definitions for who exactly constitutes a migrant. Unfortunately much of the data relied upon ends in 2022. Data from this year, not included in the above report, indicates a 40% jump in traffic through the Darien Gap compared to the same time period in 2023.
“The last two years saw major migration and displacement events that have caused great hardship and trauma, as well as loss of life….There have also been large-scale displacements triggered by climate- and weather-related disasters in many parts of the world in 2022 and 2023, including in Pakistan, the Philippines, China, India, Bangladesh, Brazil and Colombia….disinformation tactics are increasingly being used by nefarious actors with negative impacts on public, political and social media discourse on migration….Forced displacement is the highest on record in the modern era…overconsumption and overproduction linked to unsustainable economic growth, resource depletion and biodiversity collapse, as well as ongoing climate change (including global heating) are continuing to grip the world….the risk of further conflict has not been higher in decades, as military spending reached a new record high of USD 2,240 billion in 2022…” -excerpts from the introduction
Another report, focusing on internal displacement, came out last week; its 69 pages show a cross-section of about 47M people displaced by natural disasters (56%) or armed conflict (44%). Most of the disasters were storms & flooding, and most of the conflicts were civil wars of some form. This report also provides detailed region-by-region analyses—with sub-Saharan Africa accounting for 46% of global IDPs.
“Conflict and violence triggered 13.5 million movements, the highest figure for the past 15 years….Disasters and conflict are presented as different triggers, but their impacts can overlap, often leading to repeated and/ or protracted displacement….Drought triggered 331,000 displacements in Somalia….Floods triggered 550,000 displacements in Ethiopia….Conflict and violence triggered 3.8 million displacements in DRC in 2023, a slight fall from the record four million in 2022, but still the second-highest figure globally after Sudan….nearly two-thirds of the internal displacements recorded in 2023 originated from Khartoum state. More than 39 per cent of the state's inhabitants were forced to flee, leaving entire neighbourhoods empty….Criminal and communal violence triggered nearly three-quarters of Nigeria's 291,000 conflict displacements….” -selections from the spotlight on sub-Saharan Africa
Experts are concerned about the mental health impacts that climate change has on our minds. Hotter temperatures reportedly increase depression & aggression. Wildfires and storms can cause PTSD. Workers feel stress and desperation as their usual industries are impacted. And air pollution influences ordinary brain processes in many ways.
Some analysts believe “Peak China” may be over, signaling a period of economic tapering-off, as well as a growing militancy. Increasing U.S. tariffs on Chinese goods are continuing to separate the two economies. The Netherlands finally formed a provisional government, though its proposed immigration & farming policies have set it at odds with the EU.
The Federal Reserve, the U.S. central bank, released a 46-page report on potential climate risks to the banking system’s resilience. As far as I understood, most of the risk lies in extreme weather events and the risk to insurance agencies.
Part of southeast England experienced an outbreak of Cryptosporidium, a diarrhea & vomiting illness, highly contagious, which can last weeks. At least 22 cases have been reported. Meanwhile, the CDC is issuing warnings about the more dangerous strain of monkeypox circulating in the DRC, although cases are currently limited to Africa.
North Carolina’s Senate voted to ban mask-wearing last week, under the reasoning that it would make police identification of protestors difficult. An fMRI study found lasting neurological changes in COVID survivors; they “had significantly higher cognitive complaints of mental fatigue and cognitive failure….even two years after recovering.” Experts say a summer rise in COVID cases is coming to the United States.
A study on The Canadian/American Great Lakes found that PFAS levels are increasing in the 3 largest lakes (Superior, Huron, and Michigan), while decreasing in the other two (Erie, Ontario). The study also found that precipitation is the primary means by which the Lakes are accumulating PFAS, since the chemicals are small & stable enough to move through the water cycle. Meanwhile, in England’s Lake District, a telecom failure resulted in raw sewage being pumped into England’s largest and most famous lake, Windermere, on-and-off for 10 hours; and a major British water CEO took a $4M USD pay package last year. And a look into the Chicago River’s health found that microplastics & trash are endangering health & biodiversity.
——————————
An assassination attempt by a lone wolf on Slovakia’s PM left him in critical condition, but likely to survive. 11 civilians were slain by cartel fighters in a few battles in Mexico. Violence continues to spiral out of control in Goma, DRC.
In Haiti, everything worsens indefinitely. Guns have reportedly entered from Florida, a phenomenon which officials call an “iron river.” Police have been put on the defensive against the growing might of the gang warlords.
A brawl broke out in Taiwan’s parliament. An Iranian plot was allegedly foiled to smuggle weapons into Jordan to destabilize the pro-U.S. regime.
Dozens more died in Sudan from escalating violence around Darfur. People are warning about “a disaster on top of a disaster” and the possibility of Sudan splitting apart. Others have called it “hell on earth” as 1,000+ refugees cross the Chad border every day. Disease and malnutrition are growing, while famine encroaches upon 9M helpless victims of the conflict—but the world’s attention is elsewhere.
The U.S. Army Engineers completed constructing the pier in Gaza to deliver humanitarian aid. Some 600,000 Gazans have been displaced from Rafah already, and fighting has escalated against Hamas militants in northern Gaza.
Taliban forces skirmished with Pakistani soldiers for about 90 minutes last week. Taliban attacks in Pakistan, and counterattacks have resulted in a kind of ambient disruption for the rocky border zone.
Violent protests—and counteroperations—are continuing in New Caledonia (pop: 270,000), a Pacific island part of overseas France. The riots, which have killed 6 people so far, began after metropolitan France proposed a plan to expand voting rights beyond indigenous residents. A state of emergency has been declared amid worries about a spiral of violence taking hold.
As the Sahel dries out, experts are concerned about the links to rising terrorism in the region. The Sahel accounts for over 40% of global terrorism deaths—according to the analysts’ understanding of “terrorism.” Mali in particular has reportedly become home to 41 new, different non-state armed groups (NSAGs) since 2007. A contested election in Chad resulted in the consolidation of the interim leader’s power.
“If governments are continually unable to solve regional issues, the people will be at the whim of any terror group that has a basic organization. It serves these groups’ interests to promote insecurity where they can and create security where they want. A “hearts and minds” campaign in the Sahel could lead to long-term and locally supported insurgencies in a land that is currently rife with civil strife.” -from the article
Some wargamers concluded that a Trump victory in 2020 would spell the end of NATO, or at least the end of its utility. Vladimir Putin replaced his minister of defense with a top economic advisor, just before going to Beijing to reaffirm their friendship with “no limits.” Some say Putin is planning on a forever war. Some say NATO is gearing up for one, too.
Russia made several gains in the suburbs of Kharkiv, seizing several settlements which some analysts doubt they will hold. Putin claims they aren’t really trying to take Kharkiv anyway… Russia also made small progress in the Donbas—although they suffered their largest one-day casualties since the start of the war. The U.S. allocated another $2B to hasten the delivery of weapons to the front lines. The next weeks will be crucial on the front. Switzerland has invited 160+ nations to send delegates to a peace summit intended to design a path to making peace in this War.
——————————
Select comments/threads from the subreddit last week suggest:
-Brazil’s flooding was really, really bad, judging from this post and its accompanying images. Across just one of Brazil’s 26 states, 600,000+ people have been made homeless, 100+ have died, and the storm season isn’t over yet. Some of the flooding isn’t expected to subside for another month.
-How specifically might climate change make humanity extinct? This thread crowdsources a number of plausible ways, from ordinary famines to nuclear war and even a massive deoxygenation process. I tend to think it will be a consequence of an eventual nuclear exchange, followed by extended famine and disease.

2024.05.19 12:20 Used_Ad8698 Is the shiny gatcha machine broken or am i just statistically this unlucky?

I have beaten the classic mode 5 times, i have used all of my egg vouchers on the shiny machine and only the shiny machine. and the stats don't line up for it to be working properly. Currently at 517 eggs hatched and only 3 shinies. The thing is, i got these 3 shinies before the first shiny weekend event and in the pulls i got from my first classic victory. That sits at about 100-160ish eggs which is well within the right odds. Now however, i haven't run into a single shiny(even with shiny charms), i haven't hatched one either in the last(if the previous number is correct) 340+ eggs.
Am I just that unlucky or is the shiny gatcha machine not working?

Recently, I purchased the Carhartt Men's Yukon Extremes Insulated Active Jacket, and I'm quite satisfied with its performance. As someone who spends a lot of time outdoors, it's important for me to have a jacket that's not only durable but also well-insulated and wind-resistant. This active jacket did not disappoint.
The first thing that caught my attention when I received the jacket was the 3M Thinsulate insulation, which provides excellent warmth without feeling too bulky. I'm particularly fond of the hood design, featuring a drawcord and reflective Carhartt patch. The hood not only keeps me protected from rain and snow but also ensures visibility during nighttime activities.
However, one area where the jacket could be improved is its zipper quality. While the plastic zipper works fine, I'm more accustomed to metal zippers, which are generally more reliable and durable. In addition, the jacket can be somewhat noisy when walking due to the swishy fabric sound - not ideal for hunting purposes.
Despite these minor drawbacks, I believe the Carhartt Men's Yukon Extremes Insulated Active Jacket is a fantastic choice for anyone looking for a reliable and well-insulated winter coat. Its attractive design, variety of pockets, and comfortable fit make it a versatile option for both recreational activities and daily life. Overall, I'm pleased with my purchase and believe many others will be too.

These Carhartt Washed Duck Insulated Coveralls provided a comfortable and practical solution for my work needs. The quilted nylon lining and midweight polyester insulation kept me warm on chilly days without causing me to overheat.
The heavyweight cotton duck fabric was durable and had a broken-in feel, well-suited for outdoor construction tasks. The ankle-to-waist zippers and full front zipper made it easy to put on and take off, while the nine pockets and reinforced kick panels offered ample storage and protection.
The ribbed storm cuffs, comfortflex waistband, bi-swing back, and pleated elbows ensured a comfortable fit and easy movement. Although it was a bit difficult to get to the pants' pockets without reaching through, overall, I found these coveralls to be of great quality, durability, and warmth.

As someone who's tried these Carhartt Flame-Resistant Loose Fit Twill coveralls out in the field, I must say, they truly shine when it comes to safety and comfort. These coveralls, equipped with flame-resistant twill, offer the perfect balance of style and function for those working with arcs and flames.
One of the standout features is the two-way zip front, featuring a storm flap and high-temperature resistant FR zipper tape. It effortlessly opens up to reveal a comfortable loose fit, accentuated by a stretchy comfort flex waistband. The adjustable waistband not only ensures a snug fit but also allows for ease of movement with the back yoke featuring pleats.
The added element of safety is taken into consideration with the chest pockets, which are both secure and convenient. They come with flaps and a hook & loop closure that keeps valuable items safe without compromising on accessibility. And don't forget about the UL classification to NFPA 2112 – it's a testament to the coveralls' commitment to keeping its wearers safe from potential hazards.
While there are a few minor issues, such as the occasional need for adjusting sizes based on inseam lengths, overall, these Carhartt coveralls have been a reliable addition to my work wardrobe. From their practical design to their emphasis on safety, they have proven to be a worthy investment in the long run.

đź”—Superior Insulated Coveralls for Extreme Weather

As a reviewer who recently tried the Carhartt Men's Yukon Extremes Insulated Coveralls, I was impressed by the level of warmth they provide. Working in chilly conditions, I found the 3M Thinsulate insulation to be a game-changer, keeping me toasty even on the coldest days. The wind resistance and waterproofing also proved effective, as I dealt with harsh gusts and rain.
However, one downside was the fit; I had to size up to get the extra room I needed for layering underneath. Despite this minor inconvenience, I would recommend this coverall to anyone working in extreme cold conditions and seeking reliable protection.

đź”—Carhartt Men's Yukon Insulated Biberall: Thinsulate Insulation and Reflective Tape for Cold Weather Comfort

https://preview.redd.it/bg24fhjwzc1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f5f3862f20f801711829627fac09084d35729c7f
Windy days used to mean a chilly workplace, but now, thanks to the Carhartt Yukon Extremes, I'm snug and cozy even when the wind is howling. The Thinsulate insulation was a game-changer. One day, I was working in the freezing cold, and I was amazed that I didn't feel the chill. The water-repellent construction has also been my savior. One day, I accidentally splash some water during my work, and to my delight, my bib didn't soak it up. My visibility was also boosted by the reflective taping, making my outdoor activities a lot safer.
The Wind Fighter technology did an excellent job keeping the wind at bay, even in the harshest conditions. However, I felt that the Rain Defender wasn't living up to its name. On one occasion, I encountered some heavy rain, and to my disappointment, some water seeped in through the bib. I appreciate the adjustable elastic suspenders for their convenience, but I noticed they weren't as sturdy as I would have liked.
Overall, the Carhartt Yukon Extremes bib is a reliable choice for those who need a combination of warmth and protection. Despite the minor drawbacks, it has been my go-to for outdoor tasks on chilly days.

đź”—Carhartt Women's Yukon Insulated Coverall: Ultimate Cold Weather Protection

https://preview.redd.it/awe5dvwwzc1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5540659e89bc3eed1b4cd7be75c87775ec58033f
As a cold weather enthusiast, I've tried the Carhartt Yukon Extreme Coveralls and let me tell you, they are an absolute game-changer in the winter season! The first thing I noticed was their sleek design, perfect for those who need a practical yet stylish outfit to face the cold. The zipper closure was a breeze to use, and the 6.5-ounce, 500-denier Cordura nylon shell offered a robust protection from harsh weather conditions.
One of the features that truly stood out to me was the 150g 3M Thinsulate insulation, ensuring that I could confidently venture into the heart of winter without shivering. The 3M Scotchlite Carbon Black reflective taping on the center back and double front also provided extra safety when I was out in low-light conditions.
The Wind Fighter technology and Rain Defender durable water repellent (DWR) gave me the peace of mind that I could withstand some light rain without feeling soaked. The triple-stitched main seams, center front zipper, and rib-knit storm cuffs provided all the reinforcements needed to shield me from the wind.
However, there were a couple of cons that I couldn't overlook. Firstly, the coveralls were a bit restrictive in terms of movement, making it difficult to perform certain tasks. Secondly, the sizing seemed a bit off, and finding the perfect fit was quite the challenge.
Overall, the Carhartt Yukon Insulated Coverall is a fantastic option for anyone looking for protection from the chilliest weather. It may not be perfect, but it undeniably gets the job done and makes me feel like a winter warrior out on the field.

đź”—Workrite Coveralls - Lightweight, Breathable, and Flame Resistant

https://preview.redd.it/gy1cfdaxzc1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=948280e288f730c9a77e1ec51a580f378bc78177
I recently had the opportunity to wear the Carhartt Men's Flame Resistant Force Loose Fit Lightweight Coverall on a typical workday. Firstly, its distinctive Breathable honeycomb weave fabric stood out, offering me great all-day comfort. This lightweight coverall also passed crucial performance requirements and was classified to NFPA 2112, showcasing its effectiveness at protecting wearers against hazards.
The Force technology was particularly impressive, as it efficiently wicked away sweat and helped the garment dry fast, preventing any unpleasant odors from sticking around. Moreover, this coverall kept me cool throughout the day thanks to the FastDry technology, which I found extremely convenient.
In terms of construction, this coverall was built with an anti-static, colorfast fabric that was wrinkle-resistant and conveniently featured a two-way front zipper with a secure storm flap. It also had two secure chest pockets perfect for storing small essentials.
The comfort flex waistband provided increased comfort, and the back yoke with pleats ensured ease of movement. This versatile workwear also boasted multiple utility pockets for added storage, an adjustable sleeve cuff with snap closure, and ankle-to-knee leg openings that fit nicely over boots.
However, after a long day in the Carhartt Coverall, I realized it wasn't as convenient as I hoped when it came to ledge pockets. Accessing the lower-front ledge pockets was slightly challenging with a side-entry pass-through. Nonetheless, I appreciated the attention to detail through the addition of NFPA 2112 and FR labels on the left-chest pocket.
In conclusion, the Carhartt Men's Flame Resistant Force Loose Fit Lightweight Coverall proved to be a reliable garment in providing essential protection and functionality at work. Despite the slight drawback with the ledge pockets, overall it's a practical and comfortable choice for those looking for top-notch flame-resistant workwear.

https://preview.redd.it/l6imufrxzc1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a2a17d084d9f1bdac724232778c9aa2c80277ccb
I've been using these Carhartt flame resistant coveralls for quite some time, and I must say, they've proven to be incredibly durable and comfortable. One of my favorite features is their 100% cotton material, which makes them perfect for a variety of outdoor tasks. However, I've noticed that they can be a bit warm during the summer months.
Despite this little inconvenience, the coveralls' overall quality is top-notch. The spread collar and multiple pockets have made it convenient for me to carry my tools while on the go. The zipper closure ensures a secure fit, while the machine wash feature makes cleaning a breeze.
What truly sets these coveralls apart is their Carhartt FR label, which guarantees compliance with NFPA 70 E standards and UL Classification to NFPA 2112. This additional layer of safety is something I appreciate when working on high-risk projects.
In all honesty, I'm really happy with my experience using these Carhartt coveralls, and I'm confident they'll continue to serve me well in the future. If you're in the market for a high-quality, comfortable, and functional piece of workwear, I would definitely recommend giving these a try.

Hello and welcome to my post. I will subdivide this into two large parts. One will cover my thoughts, feelings, my hopes and dreams...While the other will tell you the specifics of how I pass the time, what topics interest me, what passions do I posses. I believe that at the end of this leap into my inner world, you dear reader, will have all the necessary information to judge whether we are compatible or not.

Part I
I am writing this in the hopes of finding something that I lack. Lately I have had this feeling, this tinge of melancholy within the dephts of my being, this yearning to find a kindred spirit, another Soul, much like mine, to form a bond with. Perhaps Loneliness is the right word for what is bothering me, but to use it seems to carry with it a connotation of ungratefulness. Ungratefulness for the people that I do have in my life, although none of them, of course, have the connection to me that I seek here.

I have found it increasingly necessary to seek in this Life a sort of purity of thought. What I mean is, I have began to undestand what ideas and concepts are ultimately compatible with my inner most Self, ergo what guidelines I have to follow to feel the most whole. Naturally I have likewise realised what I cannot add to my Self and what I will henceforth reject with all the power that I posses.

With this new context in mind, I now follow on the path of self improvement. I will now begin to mold my Self into my perfected idea of how the Self should be. This is certainly a significant undertaking, one that will not be easy to follow through on but one that I ultimately have to do. To me such context is essential. It is akin to a Guiding Star shining in the night. I will follow this Star for without it I am lost in the vast Darkness.

Looking back at my life, it was suboptimal, especially if one compares the way it molded me to how I will now mold myself. I suppose I must look on with a hint of regret at all that time which one might consider to be lost. Still... I try to stave off such decisively negative interpretations, after all, I have ultimately came to these conclusions. That means that somewhere along the line I had to have picked up on enough of such ideas for them to become so cemented in my consciousness. Well, either that or I was always like this, but in that case I can at least thank my life up to this point for not being able to supress such manifestations of my inner most Self.

To add to the topic of my life, I must admit that not all the battles have yet been won, not all the Demons vanquished, not every Mountain climbed. I want you to keep such things in mind when deciding whether or not to approach me. Many will shy away, I undestand that much, but the pursuit of true Companionship is just another such battle. Having said all that I do believe that being able to overcome hurdles together carries with it a certain appeal. That is to say, what's the fun in joining once the Game is already over?

I don't shy away from such challenges, perhaps to a fault. Certain troubles that I faced in the past carry with them a long shadow over my current health and well being. Still, I intend to change little in this regard other than the proficiency with which I will clash the current of my Will against the cliffs of Life.
Part II
In this part of my post I will tell you about my interests and hobbies, I will try to be thorough, commonality in this regard is rather important to build a relationship
History. I have had an interest in history for almost a decade now, it started back in school and developed from there. Well, now that I think about it one could argue that it started even earlier in my life as I liked watching the odd historic documentary or film aired on television but it wasn't regular back then, I never actively sought it out. I am mostly interested in European history in the period between the 18th-20th century but I sometimes branch out to other time periods and other parts of the world. I watch various channels related to history and read articles and sometimes books. I have recently got a few books on the German revolution of 1848/1849 and a historical magazine on the Thirty Years' War. Besides that I try to visit museums sometimes.
Literature. Especially old novels. I like to immerse myself in the Worlds of these books, I tend to read them while listening to thematically fitting music and take my time with them. One time you are following a troubled Youth in his quest for spiritual understanding of the world, another you see the aged and decrepit Doctor gambling his very Soul on the promises of abtaining satisfaction in earthy pleasures, then again your olfaction notices the most pleasant scent known to man even as the one eminating it has the appearance of a revolting Frog. These and many other stories open up to you once you decide to set foot into the literary World.
Languages. I know three, with one being a bit rusty. I am currently working intently on strengthening it. I believe that if I continue to apply myself in this regard then I should be able to finally conquer it. What language am I working on? Well, if you were to stack all the major works in it they would be as tall as a house... It is fun to go through different works in multiple languages, the same goes for film, games and such.
Games. I recently played Cyberpunk 2077. Well as recently as I played any major story centric game. Now that the dust has settled and the bugs mostly removed...It's not that bad. The main questline at least. Besides that I tried Fallout 76 (Very average, I'm dissapointed with what they made the "RPG" system) and I might give Deus Ex Manking Divided another spin (since it's somewhat similar to Cyberpunk when it comes to its aesthetics). Dark Souls is one of my favorite series, I still haven't beaten Elden Ring though. When it came out I wasn't in the right mindset to invest a hundred hours into it, with all those bosses and difficult locations. I think I'll only consider playing it if I am streaming it to someone. I am generally interested in either streaming games or having the person I am talking to stream them to me. To be specific I mean streaming to a single person while being on call. Besides that I'm a big fan of Paradox strategy games, especially Europa Universalis IV and Heats of Iron IV, I tend to only play single player since I find multiplayer with many people to be rather stressful but on the other hand I have nothing against a co-op game. I'm not the best player though, despite the ammount of hours I have in them. Another great game I would mention would be Dragon's Dogma. A very underrated RPG. I recently beat it again and it was an atmospheric and interesting experience. It is one of those games that feel like they have an endless ammount of depth and constant new secrets to discover.
Anime and Manga. In recent times my interest in them has waned but I still watch the occasional series here and there. Like Cyberpunk Edgerunners (Which I found to be rather mediocre) and the very good first season from the new arc of Bleach. Some of my favourite series include: Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, Death Note, Fate;Zero, Psycho Pass, Code Geass and Attack on Titan. I wouldn't mind if you were to introduce me to some new series, maybe based on the ones I mentioned. My favourite Manga is Berserk which I still follow, althought I am still not certain on the direction that the new author is taking. I suppose it really is a matter of contention whether a somewhat (or considerably warped) vision is better than an unfinished work. One could argue that a few novels remain unfinished and possess a macabre appeal to them as such.
Music. Classical music has a very special place in my heart. A few of my favourite pieces would be: Clair de Lune, Nocturne Op. 9 No.2, Devil's Trill Sonata, Danse Macabre, Valse Sentimentale, Symphony No. 7 in A Major, Op. 92: II. Alegreto (by Beethoven) and Suite from Swan Lake, Op. 20a: I. Scene. Moderato. There are more but these ones always invoke something in me when I listen to them. Besides Classical I also enjoy listening to Synthwave, old Western pop and J-pop, both modern and from the 20th century.
Esotericism. I am interested in things spiritual, mystical, magical and esoteric. I have read religios texts, magical grimoires, introductions to various schools of thought. It is interesting to me.
Epilogue
Hopefully I was able to cast the spotlight upon my inner World in a clear and unequivocal manner. I feel the need to add to the aforementioned that I am rather introverted, which means that I tend to dislike large social gatherings. I managed to condition myself to be able to endure the presense of large groups of people but it isn't something that I would seek out in most cases. Besides that I am neurodivergent and suffer from certain issues with mental health. I have to take medication to keep myself under control. They work well enough but certain days are harder than others. I respect the struggle that others have with mental health but in the context of a relationship I have my limits, no one with BDP for instance. I am also not looking for anything casual. I understand than one cannot demand depth and meaning from a conversation with an absolute stranger, that is akin to trying to build a sand castle right before the waves strike but I ask at least that you enter with a mindset that this might become something of significance. I also do want to say that I am completely Monogamous. My preference? The sickly, pale, intellectual who watches rain droplets slide down the window in Autumn. Lastly, if I enjoy the company of a person I tend to not want to let them go.
Thank you for taking the time to read my post and have a good day. I ask that you send a DM instead of a chat and that you give the English translation of my title as your own.
Goodbye...Or perhaps untill we meet again

2024.05.19 12:15 Salt-Ability-8932 Is changing IT jobs twice in a year okay ?

Hi All ,
Just for context , mid last year I joined a large MNC, but I quit them in Jan to join another company for a higher pay. Now I am in bad pickle because I am getting laid off next week. From my job history this is first time something so bad has happened to me . I worked only 4 different company for a total 16 years prior this last 2 years. Unfortunately I can't really leave out this recent work history in my resume because it will get found out when HR has to dig out my tax records (yes, it is a must for payroll and taxation purposes) .
1 ) Has anyone ever bounce back from such a case in the IT field ?
2) I am completely screwed / cut off from work or I have just made things harder for myself only ?
3) Personally I am very disappointed and I not very sure how to even explain this recent chaos to my future employer. I could say "Even though I left , I did learn some important lesson/experience" or something along those lines . But does anyone have any better suggestions ?

2024.05.19 12:15 jackie_downtheline What should I do? My bf M25 and I F22 are taking a break…

I 22F and my bf 25M are currently on a break for the week. I’m doing my uni finals at the moment, and I have been a bit stressed. I noticed my bf wasn’t really talking to me the way he normally would and I asked him what’s up. He sent me a really long text detailing now he thinks we are never on the same page (1), he keeps thinking about how I read his diary (2), I called him my ex’s name by acccident (3), and he is stressed because I am frustrated about my exams (4). I’ll detail these more now.
  1. He wants kids. I met him online and told him in my profile I was strictly against kids. Recently, I have come around about that, but I am still unsure. I’m not against them but I have explained I would need to do what I want and live my life a bit and have a house and job before I could decide that. I am also a child of divorce and saw how that really affected my mum, and I explained to him how that also put me on the fence. He said he doesn’t want to be with someone for years and it feel like a “waste” if it doesn’t work out kids wise and he doesn’t wanna start dating in his 30s. Another thing is travel. I had told him I would perhaps like to travel after uni, but I am forgoing that. I said it would be nice to go away on holiday like his other friend couples do maybe once a year, but he thought that I was insinuating we MUST go this year. I explained that I wasn’t expecting him to, because he wants to save for a house (rent), and he can’t get any hols anyway. He was really silent after that as if we had “argued” and in his eyes that was an argument he brought up this week. I didn’t raise my voice at him or argue, rather said that wasn’t what I meant and explained further.
  2. This one is bad, I know. I was in a really bad place mentally, and I thought that something was wrong with him since he sometimes suffered from anxiety and dealing with the future. I had only read the last entry he put in and immediately after I read it I told him as I felt so guilty betraying him. I’ve apologised profusely and I’ve been going to counselling to help my own anxiety and depression. I wanna note that I’m not like that around him, it’s mainly when I’m by myself so he doesn’t really see that side of me. In the moment I was genuinely worried for him. I know it still makes what I did bad.
  3. This one really tears me up every day. We were playing around, and instead of saying his name in a playful annoyed way I said my exes. He immediately shut down and wouldn’t talk to me or hear me out. In fact, he kicked me out of his house. I get that what I said was not nice to hear, and upon talking to my counsellor she said it was a common thing to do, and doesn’t mean I was thinking about my ex. I wanna say that I DO NOT think about them and have blocked and deleted them from my life. In doing that however, I did begin to spend more time with my gay bestie who happens to have the same name as my ex and I happened to talk to on that day. I really believe it was a mistake and I thought he was trying to move past it but he keeps bringing it up.
  4. He doesn’t like to be around me when I’m stressed. When I’m frustrated, I’m not angry at him or raise my voice at him or be passive aggressive, it’s more so internalised at myself. He was offering me advice this year and feels like because I didn’t stick to a schedule to complete my uni tasks, I was ignoring him. I work last minute, it’s how I have always worked and I get great result. Not to mention, in his final uni year he was the same as me. I dont really get this argument to be honest.
I also wanna note that he told me he wasn’t sure if this is the “real” me or if I was on my best behaviour at the start of the relationship. Everything was great at the start, but in my first week of uni my grandmother died, I then had to have surgery 2 months later to remove breast tumours (non cancerous), and I guess that and uni stress really caught up with me. He saw that I was doing better by going to the gym and feeling better about myself, but said that I snap back at times and don’t like myself. I think this is normal as some people have off days but I think he’s annoyed by it.
Also, at the start of our relationship he was really anxious about us, and I helped him through it. He was also stressed about jobs, and I had helped him prep and make a new cv as I’m good at that stuff and he got job offers. In fact at one point he said to me that he thought I was with him for money. I had more in savings than him at that point and paid for things/went 50/50. I am also lined up for a higher earning job than him when I’m out of uni.
We are on a break atm until my exams are over (20may). I genuinely don’t think these are things to waste 1 year over especially when I’m gonna be out of that stressed environment soon. He replied one night to my goodnight I love you saying “love you” but only replied x last night. Am I the problem? Am I overreacting for feeling like an awful person?
My parents say he’s not treating me nicely or fairly, and my friends say that the only thing I did wrong was read his diary. I just feel like an awful person.

2024.05.19 12:14 theonlineforyou Cyber Safety 101: Understanding the Importance of Robust URL Scans

In the digital age, the internet has become a cornerstone of daily life, enabling us to access vast amounts of information, connect with others, and conduct transactions with ease. However, this increased online activity also brings significant risks, particularly from malicious websites designed to steal personal information. One of the fundamental steps in protecting oneself online is understanding the importance of URL scans. These scans are crucial for identifying harmful websites that may host malware, spyware, or phishing schemes designed to compromise your personal and financial information.
As we navigate through countless websites, it's not always apparent which ones might be harmful. Cybercriminals have become adept at creating websites that look legitimate but are designed to exploit users. Robust URL scans help by analyzing web addresses to determine whether they lead to safe content. This process involves checking the website against databases of known problematic sites and using algorithms to assess the likelihood of a site being a threat based on various characteristics of the URL. These characteristics might include the use of misleading domain names or uncommon top-level domains.
Furthermore, URL scans are not just about protecting individual users; they are vital for maintaining the security of entire networks. In organizational settings, for example, employees often access a multitude of websites for their daily work tasks. A single compromised website accessed through an unchecked URL can lead to a broader network attack, putting sensitive company data at risk. Therefore, implementing strict protocols for scanning URLs can serve as a primary defense line, preventing cyber threats from penetrating the network.
Among the diverse techniques used for safeguarding online experiences, conducting a URL phishing scan stands out as particularly effective. A URL phishing scan specifically targets the techniques used by phishers, who attempt to mimic legitimate websites to gather sensitive user data. By employing this type of scan, both individuals and organizations can more accurately identify and block websites that are designed to deceive. The use of URL phishing scans is a critical component in a comprehensive cyber defense strategy, helping to ensure a safer internet navigation experience and protecting against the ever-evolving tactics of cybercriminals.

2024.05.19 12:12 Designer_Wall8981 How would you handle a technician who doesn't work for you?

Hi we're are an MSP who looks after number of schools.
Our usual set up, is we look after the 3rd/2nd line. Then we hire a 1st line technician, who we own and is a apart of our team.
Now we are about to take on a school and they want to employ their own IT guy. Nothing to do with us.
They never had an onsite technician before, but they didn't want us to supply it.
So we will be supporting a technician who we don't know/trust.
How would you go about this from a security/Relationship point of view.
We don't want them to have access to the servers etc. but for day to day role how much information (password( would you allow them? Would you be there to hand hold or would you be more reserved, so that they don't cause you issues and end up doing more work.
It is something we haven't come across before, so would love your guys input.

2024.05.19 12:11 Intelligent-Koala286 The ruck department

Darcy deserves more love, an elite ruck in the AFL now, top 3 at least. Solid ruck work and a great pair of hands for those big clunks down the line.
Coxy i'm a little concerned about, has spent most of the season running or getting manoeuvred under the ball and then going up with one hand which rarely works. Can be a total liability with ball at ground level. Looked like a total doofus out there at times last game. Not sure if we have any realistic alternatives though, particularly with Big Billy looking so settled in defence.
